- 1:26Speaker 1: gmail dot com and we have an email this week
- 1:29Speaker 1: after Wendy's plea for help. So, last week's movie Snowkiss
- 1:34Speaker 1: featured Jen Millie, who I really enjoy and that was
- 1:37Speaker 1: Wendy's first exposure to her, and it wasn't the best
- 1:42Speaker 1: perhaps starting point, and so a Lovely listener named Lisa
- 1:47Speaker 1: reached out and said, I would recommend watching a Dash
- 1:50Speaker 1: of Love for a likable Jen Lily movie, and she
- 1:53Speaker 1: listed when it was airing, which was super helpful, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: she also recommended Fall Harvest. Now, Wendy, you watched this movie.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I've watched a Dash of Love over the weekend.
- 2:06Speaker 1: So hold on. Then there was a plot twist, and
- 2:08Speaker 1: I did an update Wendy on the plot twist because
- 2:11Speaker 1: she followed back up and said, actually, the movie I
- 2:13Speaker 1: recommend is a winter love story, but a Dash of
- 2:16Speaker 1: Love and Paul Harvest are also feature Gen Lily and
- 2:19Speaker 1: she enjoys those. So you watched a Dash of Love.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I did, featuring Jen Lily and Brendan Penny who is
- 2:27Speaker 2: oh Beverly Hill's wedding tinyway, Yeah, I enjoyed it. I
- 2:31Speaker 2: thought Jen Lily had better hair in this movie, and
- 2:36Speaker 2: I like this story. It was if I recall the story,
- 2:40Speaker 2: I mean it was just two days ago that I
- 2:42Speaker 2: watched just but like, she is a cook and she
- 2:45Speaker 2: gets a job at a fancy restaurant and then that
- 2:49Speaker 2: chef steals her recipes. Anyway, it was enjoyable. I didn't
- 2:53Speaker 2: like hate it. I'm still not totally sold on gen
- 2:58Speaker 2: Lily though. Oh so is it about?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Was it a Valentine's movie?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Ish? It like took place during like February.
- 3:06Speaker 1: But yeah, all right, well, I am impressed that you
- 3:08Speaker 1: gave her a second shot.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'll watch another one.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I will.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean, maybe you should try a Winter Love Story,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and that is on February ninth, which is tomorrow tomorrow
- 3:20Speaker 1: as we're recording this.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so for it.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I also recorded those movies, but I have not watched
- 3:27Speaker 1: them yet.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Dash Love is a great like throw on movie if
- 3:30Speaker 2: you want to, like put it on and you're doing
- 3:32Speaker 2: other stuff around the house.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You know, all right, do you have our synopsis for
- 3:36Speaker 1: a Beverly Hills wedding.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Okay, so I do, and it's funny. I have two
- 3:40Speaker 2: of them here. I have one from the original Hallmark
- 3:43Speaker 2: Channel dot com and I also have one from IMDb.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And I'm going to read the IMDb one first.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Beverly Hill's Wedding. A woman wins her sister a Beverly
- 3:54Speaker 2: Hills wedding and gets a surprise of her own. That's
- 3:58Speaker 2: all it says. Okay, which I'm like, a surprise of
- 4:02Speaker 2: her own? What is she getting?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Job coming back? I think?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay.
- 4:08Speaker 2: The one on the Hallwork Channel is a little bit
- 4:10Speaker 2: more lengthy. Do you actually want me to read this
- 4:13Speaker 2: whole thing?
- 4:14Speaker 1: The one on the app is not long?
- 4:17Speaker 2: Okay, so you read the one from the app since
- 4:20Speaker 2: this one on the website is super long.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Beverly Hill's Wedding. When small town wedding photographer Molly's baby
- 4:27Speaker 1: sister gets engaged, she enters the budget conscious couple in
- 4:31Speaker 1: a contest and wins a dream wedding, an all expenses paid,
- 4:34Speaker 1: celeb worthy event at historic Beverly Hills Hotel thrown by
- 4:39Speaker 1: planner to the Stars Terrence Rockfort.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Okay, it's word for word the same, except it's missing
- 4:44Speaker 2: an entire little other piece. Oh but that's funny. It
- 4:48Speaker 2: continues to go. It all seems perfect, But when the
- 4:51Speaker 2: engaged couple seems uneasy with the new plans and the
- 4:53Speaker 2: native honor duties bring Molly closer to the best man,
- 4:56Speaker 2: her ex boyfriend Corey, she required, h yeah, can I
- 5:00Speaker 2: you something first please?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Shh.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I was really hoping for, a real
- 5:09Speaker 2: throwback to my favorite Beverly Hills nine O two and
- 5:12Speaker 2: oh and did you feel like you got that in
- 5:15Speaker 2: some of the exterior Beverly Hills shots, I kind of did.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I did enjoy those. So let's do news and notes first. Okay,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you know it was interesting. One thing I always want
- 5:27Speaker 1: to know is where these were filmed, especially one that
- 5:31Speaker 1: includes like a real life location like Beverly Hills. And
- 5:34Speaker 1: it was funny because the first article I came up
- 5:37Speaker 1: on said like, this was filmed in Canada, and I
- 5:39Speaker 1: was like, mm, I don't think so.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I know what you're talking about here. Now you're going
- 5:45Speaker 2: to reference to cinemahallic dot com where it says it
- 5:47Speaker 2: was shot all in Beverly Hills in Santa Monica. But
- 5:50Speaker 2: I also don't Yes, I don't think that's true though,
- 5:53Speaker 2: either now and I looked through many articles and then
- 5:58Speaker 2: could not find any other good information about where.
- 6:03Speaker 1: This movie was filmed. Did you come up with solid
- 6:06Speaker 1: information that you trusted.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The only thing that I did to dig deeper is
- 6:12Speaker 2: to watch the end credits of this movie.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Smart.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I am smart, Megan. But what had happened is that
- 6:21Speaker 2: they started to show like whatever was coming on next,
- 6:25Speaker 2: So the credits shrunk down into like a tiny little
- 6:29Speaker 2: rectangle and I couldn't read anything, but I did see
- 6:32Speaker 2: the words Canada, so well.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I would believe that the shots that were supposed to
- 6:38Speaker 1: be Oregon were filmed in Canada. I would honestly also
- 6:43Speaker 1: believe that the entire movie could have been filmed in Canada,
- 6:46Speaker 1: because Okay, we have Beverly Hills exterior shots, but never
- 6:50Speaker 1: with them in them. You know, every time they're walking outside,
- 6:54Speaker 1: there's nothing that's clearly Beverly Hills from my recollection. M hm,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I agree, Like they drive to the bike to the
- 7:03Speaker 1: food trucks, like that's just a parking lot, yeah, exactly,
- 7:06Speaker 1: And then the interiors could have been any hotel.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I know because the notes I have here says that
- 7:11Speaker 2: they shot exterior shots at the Beverly Hills Hotel Polo
- 7:15Speaker 2: Lounge in Cabana Cafe, but you never saw any signage
- 7:18Speaker 2: that said that that they were like in those actual spots.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I agree, So I'm gonna go with this was filmed
- 7:25Speaker 1: on location in Canada, particularly because this was filmed well
- 7:30Speaker 1: some of the information I read, so it was filmed
- 7:32Speaker 1: in July of last year. Uh huh, And I believe
- 7:35Speaker 1: that either that or they were freezing to death in
- 7:39Speaker 1: the winter. But I will say that information was harder
- 7:42Speaker 1: to come by on this movie than in other movies.
- 7:44Speaker 1: And I feel like those websites were just making things up.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think so too, just so they could get that
- 7:49Speaker 2: top billion in Google. Yes, So why do you think
- 7:53Speaker 2: there's less information about this movie online right now? Well?
- 7:58Speaker 1: Here, what I think is a lot of times those
- 8:01Speaker 1: websites that get that information get it from the social
- 8:04Speaker 1: media profiles of the stars of the movie. Yes, And
- 8:09Speaker 1: there wasn't good information on their websites. They weren't tagging locations,
- 8:14Speaker 1: they weren't posting prolifically. I couldn't find a Twitter account
- 8:17Speaker 1: for Book and I actually don't think I found a
- 8:19Speaker 1: public Instagram account for her either. Brendan has one, but hadn't.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Even one of the websites is like, here's a picture
- 8:26Speaker 1: of Brendan's dog, where normally they would put like a
- 8:28Speaker 1: picture of the cast on location. Yeah, so I feel like,
- 8:34Speaker 1: you know, the cast hadn't dropped that information because I
- 8:37Speaker 1: don't think these websites have access to this information from Hallmark,
- 8:42Speaker 1: and I don't necessarily think Hallmark is publishing that information
- 8:45Speaker 1: because they want you to believe that Beverly Hill's wedding
- 8:47Speaker 1: was filmed in Beverly Hills.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I was gonna look and see if IMDb tells you location.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Oh, I have it up right now.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Let me see. Oh, filming locations British, Columbia and Canada. See,
- 8:58Speaker 1: so there you go. I have one other note, okay,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and that is Emma Johnson, who played the sister Sophia. Yes,
- 9:07Speaker 1: her real life boyfriend was the steadycam operator for the movie.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Oh exciting. Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 1: She posted a photo of her in her movie wedding dress.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Oh that's exciting with him. Yeah, it's on Twitter. What
- 9:19Speaker 1: was your first impression of this movie?
- 9:21Speaker 2: All right, so my first impression of Beverly Hill's wedding
- 9:24Speaker 2: was that it was enjoyable.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I agree. I wrote overall, I really liked it. However,
- 9:30Speaker 1: I'm wondering if my opinion is colored by one of
- 9:33Speaker 1: two things. One, it was very different of everything we've watched.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It's no longer winter, it's no longer snowy. It's the
- 9:40Speaker 1: colors were warm and saturated.
- 9:43Speaker 2: We are on the same page.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Also, I mentioned before, but I really love the lead actress, Brooke.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Do you or say?
- 9:50Speaker 1: I may be saying her last name wrong, but I
- 9:52Speaker 1: really enjoy her. She was in Drop Dead Diva, she
- 9:54Speaker 1: was in Royal Pains, she was in she had a
- 9:56Speaker 1: recurring role on two and f Men. She's been in
- 9:58Speaker 1: a ton of Hallmark movies. I like her a lot,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and so I was primed to enjoy this movie. But
- 10:06Speaker 1: I wonder if additional movies in this lineup I will
- 10:10Speaker 1: perhaps enjoy more. And this one just gets the benefit
- 10:12Speaker 1: of being first and different, And so I liked it
- 10:14Speaker 1: for that reason.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So that's interesting. I wrote as well, it was light,
- 10:19Speaker 2: especially after months of Christmas and winter content. It was
- 10:23Speaker 2: nice to see non snowy, non cold scenery. I also
- 10:28Speaker 2: thought that it had several really funny lines written into it.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Oh good, I didn't write any down.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I have a ton and yeah. I
- 10:38Speaker 2: just thought it was light and bright and I enjoyed it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Did I love it?
- 10:43Speaker 1: I think that's fair. That's how I feel, too. Okay,
- 10:46Speaker 1: So let's jump into what we did like about this movie.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Mm hmm, go ahead, Megan.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I did love the fictional Hughes Organ and the family farm.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I thought that was a beautiful filming location.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I looked it up to see if that was actually real,
- 10:59Speaker 2: like a real location.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I did too, I didn't come up with anything for
- 11:02Speaker 1: me neither. I also loved the cover of Weezer's Beverly
- 11:08Speaker 1: Hills that they play as they're arriving at the hotel.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Girl.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I wrote that down too. I'm so impressed that you.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I mean, I know you knew that song because it
- 11:17Speaker 2: was very popular. But yeah, I like that they like
- 11:20Speaker 2: use that song in it. Yeah. I like it made
- 11:23Speaker 2: it feel like contemporary.
- 11:24Speaker 1: A real movie, a real movie. The last thing I
- 11:28Speaker 1: liked was the final scene with Molly and Corey. I
- 11:32Speaker 1: liked there, we'll figure it out together, rather than the
- 11:34Speaker 1: the desire to like fast forward and decide what their
- 11:37Speaker 1: next steps are, which are always kind of unsatisfactory to me. Right,
- 11:42Speaker 1: They're just kind of like, we'll figure it out, we'll
- 11:44Speaker 1: make the decision together.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Did they say I love you at the end?
- 11:47Speaker 1: I didn't hear it.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I can't remember. It actually makes me feel better when
- 11:52Speaker 2: they don't me too, yes, because that's so fast. Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I mean, I know they had a long history together
- 11:58Speaker 2: and that they were together romance at one time. But
- 12:02Speaker 2: if you're just rekindling that, I don't think you like
- 12:05Speaker 2: jump right back into like I love you, I'm falling
- 12:08Speaker 2: in love with you. I'm not whatever.
- 12:10Speaker 1: What did you like about the movie?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Okay, I very much enjoyed the cast. Brooke dior Say
- 12:18Speaker 2: as Mollie. I thought she was adorable. I have some
- 12:22Speaker 2: small critiques on like her character she played, but me too.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Other than that, I really enjoyed Brendan Penny.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Now.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Like I said earlier, I watched him for the first
- 12:32Speaker 2: time in A Dash of Love, So this was a
- 12:34Speaker 2: second movie that I've seen in him, seen of him,
- 12:37Speaker 2: and I thought he's handsome. I thought he was a
- 12:40Speaker 2: good actor. I liked him. But for the star for
- 12:45Speaker 2: me of this movie was Matthew McCall as Terence Rockfort.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I enjoyed him.
- 12:52Speaker 2: You know, he was in U Never Kiss a Man
- 12:56Speaker 2: in a Christmas Sweater.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Oh he was.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I don't remember for who he played, but his credits
- 13:03Speaker 2: showed that he was in that movie. But anyway, he
- 13:07Speaker 2: was a star for me in this movie. I enjoyed
- 13:11Speaker 2: him so very much. There were several scenes that I
- 13:14Speaker 2: really liked with him in it. I thought the sets
- 13:18Speaker 2: were beautiful, especially the dad's house was like so gorgeous.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It was like a beautiful kitchen, and then they had
- 13:26Speaker 2: like a beautiful outdoor space where they had like a
- 13:28Speaker 2: didn't they have like an engagement party or something out there?
- 13:31Speaker 2: It was just the fire pit. I just loved it
- 13:33Speaker 2: so much. I love the scene when the sisters trying
- 13:36Speaker 2: on the wedding dresses and the I mean, you can
- 13:40Speaker 2: get me every time with like that kind of like
- 13:43Speaker 2: you know, like a music montage. There was no music
- 13:46Speaker 2: and it was not montage, but she was trying on
- 13:48Speaker 2: wedding dresses. I just loved it. It was like a throwback
- 13:51Speaker 2: to like a special time in my own life. So
- 13:54Speaker 2: I really loved that as well. I love this champagne scene.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Made me want to go have a champagne testing if
- 14:01Speaker 2: taste testing, if that's even a thing for sure, is
- 14:04Speaker 2: not planning a wedding, Yeah, of course. And lastly, I
- 14:09Speaker 2: thought the two leads had a really nice chemistry between
- 14:12Speaker 2: each other.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I agree with all of that all right, from what
- 14:15Speaker 1: we liked to the roadblocks place in the way of
- 14:19Speaker 1: our movie couple.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Oh my god, there were so many.
- 14:22Speaker 3: I thought.
- 14:24Speaker 2: The first at the very front was Jordan doesn't like
- 14:27Speaker 2: his photo on social media?
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yes, I wrote, Oh, there's the line when you hear
- 14:32Speaker 1: Terreen say as long as you're okay with those taking
- 14:34Speaker 1: pictures and videos of your experience, And that was an
- 14:36Speaker 1: immediate like screaming uh oh for.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Me, yeah, which is just funny, Like I feel like
- 14:42Speaker 2: for you and I that would just be like whatever,
- 14:45Speaker 2: Like I wouldn't care if somebody was taking my picture
- 14:48Speaker 2: and putting it. I know that they're advertising, Like I
- 14:51Speaker 2: get the point of needing to post on social media,
- 14:55Speaker 2: But someone like Jordan, who's from like a smaller organic
- 15:00Speaker 2: works on a blueberry farm.
- 15:03Speaker 1: My husband, that would absolutely not be okay.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Exactly. That's who I thought of. That is absolutely who
- 15:08Speaker 2: I thought of when he'd be like, I'm out, We're
- 15:10Speaker 2: not doing this, even if something was totally free.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I don't know. I know, I feel like he would
- 15:17Speaker 1: be like, that's our moment. You know, he doesn't have
- 15:21Speaker 1: social media accounts. He hates having his photo appear online,
- 15:24Speaker 1: so probably not.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I have.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Oh, her long last boyfriend appears at the engagement of
- 15:30Speaker 1: his brother. This is not the shocker we're meant to believe.
- 15:33Speaker 1: It is seriously Okay.
- 15:35Speaker 2: That is what really bothered be in this movie is
- 15:39Speaker 2: like how like annoyed he was by him actually being there.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I was like, dude, it's his brother, of course he's
- 15:45Speaker 2: going to be there. So yeah, that was dumb.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Uh oh.
- 15:50Speaker 2: The wedding is in six weeks on Valentine's Day, which
- 15:54Speaker 2: would mean that the story takes place at the very
- 15:57Speaker 2: beginning of January. I have, I have like some digit
- 16:02Speaker 2: see that in relation to.
- 16:04Speaker 1: That, uh oh, how's your entire family going to get
- 16:07Speaker 1: to a wedding in Beverly Hills. They never cover that
- 16:10Speaker 1: at all, Like, we don't have that many guests, Okay,
- 16:13Speaker 1: but how are they going to get there?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 16:15Speaker 2: They still have to pay for their travel to get
- 16:18Speaker 2: them because I have uh oh, Jordan is super annoyed
- 16:24Speaker 2: at Mollie the annoying sister. Mollie who is taking over
- 16:31Speaker 2: everything in the wedding. I guess she just plays the
- 16:34Speaker 2: role of like the overbearing mom who.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Would do that, right.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I did think about that because I have some comments
- 16:44Speaker 1: about her character in another section, but I was trying
- 16:47Speaker 1: to think was that realistic at all? And I think
- 16:50Speaker 1: you're right. There are certainly some mothers who would try
- 16:53Speaker 1: and control the wedding the level that she was, and
- 16:55Speaker 1: she was playing that role.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I have.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Oh, Terrence is kind of a snob.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I loved him, though, I mean, that's they're just trying
- 17:04Speaker 2: to fill that stereotypical like this is what a wedding
- 17:07Speaker 2: planner from Beverly Hills is going to act like.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Well, and he needed to have the transformation at the end,
- 17:13Speaker 1: so they needed to make him you know, oh, thanks
- 17:17Speaker 1: for the blueberry jam, and oh you like daisies, and
- 17:21Speaker 1: oh we're not serving beer, and you know. I have
- 17:24Speaker 1: some more quibbles with his character, but I enjoyed him.
- 17:27Speaker 1: But I do think they intentionally make him a snob.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I know, I agree, I agree.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Okay, that's all the oh's.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I have me too.
- 17:36Speaker 2: It is time for what we wished for. I'm going
- 17:38Speaker 2: to take it to the very beginning Okay. The font
- 17:42Speaker 2: that they used this movie, I don't even know what
- 17:47Speaker 2: it's called. I know we talked about this before, like
- 17:50Speaker 2: the graphic that they would you know, the what is it?
- 17:53Speaker 2: Has a word?
- 17:54Speaker 3: What is it?
- 17:55Speaker 2: I don't know Anyway, the font that they used on
- 17:58Speaker 2: this movie, I hate it. I wish they would use
- 18:00Speaker 2: something a little more updated. I'm going to leave a
- 18:03Speaker 2: picture of it in our.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Show a picture too, Oh you do?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Oh did you take a picture of that just coincidentally
- 18:09Speaker 2: or yeah, I was taking a picture for Instagram stories
- 18:12Speaker 2: and it was starting and it's nice the title. Okay,
- 18:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna put that picture in our show notes so
- 18:18Speaker 2: you guys can see how like Ragie I get about fonts.
- 18:22Speaker 2: It's me in bed, but it's okay.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I wished that this wasn't such an unrealistic portrait of
- 18:28Speaker 1: a wedding planner, because while a planner may have a
- 18:31Speaker 1: certain style, no wedding planner who wants to stay employed
- 18:36Speaker 1: is going to not listen to the tastes of their
- 18:39Speaker 1: bride and groom. And take that into account. You can
- 18:42Speaker 1: have a beautiful wedding. Yes, of course he's used to
- 18:45Speaker 1: fancy things. But if they want beer, if they want daisies,
- 18:49Speaker 1: then give them big, beautiful, ridiculous daisy bouquets. Right, A
- 18:53Speaker 1: wedding planner needs to listen at some point to the
- 18:57Speaker 1: tastes of their clients, even if it's for I agree.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Like they were. There was a scene when they were
- 19:03Speaker 2: cake cake tasting that sounded weird. When I was gonna say, anyhow,
- 19:07Speaker 2: and they was talking about how ooh blueberry cobbler blah
- 19:10Speaker 2: blah blah, and he's like, that's so pedestrian. Anyhow, incorporate
- 19:15Speaker 2: if it's just if the groom wants vanilla white cake,
- 19:19Speaker 2: give him a vanilla white cake and incorporate some beautiful
- 19:23Speaker 2: like blueberries on it or inside of it or something like. Yes,
- 19:28Speaker 2: he needed to listen to the wants of his his ci.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And tiny little blueberry cobbler tarts like, oh love it.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I mean, there are ways to make it work with
- 19:38Speaker 1: their taste, Like when they were tasting the food. You
- 19:41Speaker 1: get to have food that you like at your wedding.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I mean at the seaweed I don't know what they
- 19:46Speaker 1: were eating. Seaweed tarts, Yeah, that was what is that
- 19:49Speaker 1: a thing? Is that it looked gross?
- 19:52Speaker 2: No, And I think they were saying, Oh, our family's
- 19:55Speaker 2: more into like comfort food, and I think that is
- 19:59Speaker 2: very kind of sweet. Yes, if you had a wedding
- 20:02Speaker 2: with comfort food, like I think all your guests would
- 20:05Speaker 2: be happy with that.
- 20:06Speaker 1: A macaroni and cheese bar.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Oh my god, Yes, that sounds amazing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: What else did you wish for?
- 20:14Speaker 3: So?
- 20:14Speaker 2: I wrote that I had wished Mollie would have been
- 20:19Speaker 2: less startled, less annoyed with Corey's presence, because I think
- 20:24Speaker 2: if they have this long history, there's gonna be more
- 20:28Speaker 2: hurt and pain there and not just like oh you again.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I just I hate when they make past relationships like that,
- 20:40Speaker 2: when they illustrate them like that for these movies. I
- 20:43Speaker 2: just can't stand it, because it's not real.
- 20:46Speaker 1: I hear you. I wrote, I wish this role suited Brookmore.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I don't think she plays the snotty I'm too cool
- 20:51Speaker 1: for you girl well, and I love her, but I
- 20:55Speaker 1: agree I didn't like I think they could have made
- 20:58Speaker 1: her un comfortable or nervous around him because she's hurt
- 21:03Speaker 1: by him and she doesn't want to open herself up
- 21:05Speaker 1: without making her I just felt like she was kind
- 21:08Speaker 1: of snotty, and I didn't enjoy that part of her character.
- 21:14Speaker 2: What did you think about like her photo job? Her
- 21:17Speaker 2: photography job, Like it was such an aside, Like it
- 21:20Speaker 2: was not even necessary. I don't think for the story.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It didn't bother me because otherwise she didn't really have
- 21:28Speaker 1: a storyline other than reconnecting with Corey. But we'll I
- 21:33Speaker 1: have some Did you say that's about her job? I mean,
- 21:35Speaker 1: you know she's a wedding photographer. I don't know. I
- 21:37Speaker 1: didn't really have many thoughts on her having wanting more
- 21:42Speaker 1: out of life. Okay, but you didn't love it?
- 21:45Speaker 2: No, I just thought it was like dumb and a
- 21:46Speaker 2: little bit confusing. How like this job opportunity she was
- 21:50Speaker 2: going to like be able to show her actual work outside. Look,
- 21:55Speaker 2: waiting photographers, I'm sure make a boatload of money, so
- 21:58Speaker 2: it wasn't ticking her box for like it being her passion.
- 22:03Speaker 2: But eh, she wanted to be an artist, Yes, exactly, exactly.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I do think there's a move that they do in
- 22:12Speaker 2: these movies a lot where they try and like find
- 22:15Speaker 2: the elevated version of their jobs as opposed to celebrating, like, hey,
- 22:19Speaker 2: there's nothing wrong with being great at whatever job you have.
- 22:21Speaker 2: You don't have to be like I'm a wedding photographer.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I don't necessarily need to be a best selling photographer
- 22:28Speaker 1: whose work hangs in galleries to be worthy.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Right, all right, do you have anything else you wished for?
- 22:35Speaker 1: I did not?
- 22:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean neither.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I mean I thought this movie was very enjoyable, Like
- 22:39Speaker 2: I wasn't hate watching it at all.
- 22:41Speaker 1: So we get to go to my favorite part in
- 22:43Speaker 1: Wendy's too, which is did you see that? Questions, plot
- 22:47Speaker 1: holes and things we just need to discuss.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Let's talk about it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Molli the photographer leaves before the reception and the opening wedding.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Are you telling me they don't take photos at the reception,
- 22:58Speaker 1: cutting the cake to dance ride and groom's entrance.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Yes, I noticed it too. That was so funny.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Mine is Molly Barge is right in after the proposal.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Yes, Like she's.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Like, hey, yes, I'm here, and then she just like
- 23:15Speaker 2: you know, totally steals her sister away from like this
- 23:19Speaker 2: romantic moment.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I yes, And she's walking back with them. It's like
- 23:24Speaker 1: three of them walking back like they just got engaged.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Can they have a minute, please?
- 23:29Speaker 3: Seriously serious?
- 23:32Speaker 1: I have Terrence holding the base of the champagne glass,
- 23:35Speaker 1: not even the stem. While the women are getting their pedicures.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Did you notice that I did?
- 23:40Speaker 3: What's wrong with that?
- 23:42Speaker 1: The bah?
- 23:42Speaker 3: I just struck.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Why would you hold the base?
- 23:45Speaker 2: I don't know, it's casual. I don't know why it's.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Casual to hold the bottom like it's not holding the bowl.
- 23:52Speaker 1: It drove me bananas. I know you're not supposed to
- 23:55Speaker 1: hold the whatever you call the top part where the
- 23:58Speaker 1: liquid sits because it warren up supposed to hold the stem,
- 24:03Speaker 1: But holding the base, I don't know. It looked uncomfortable.
- 24:08Speaker 1: They're so funny, like, how do you have control over
- 24:10Speaker 1: a glass if you're holding it by the base?
- 24:12Speaker 2: I don't know, Okay. I mentioned to earlier that it
- 24:15Speaker 2: was six weeks before Valentine's Day because they were supposed
- 24:18Speaker 2: to get married like Valentine's Day, I guess, which would
- 24:21Speaker 2: have put them in early January. In Organ, it is
- 24:25Speaker 2: not sunny and it is cold and rainy, and I
- 24:27Speaker 2: had these beautiful outdoor shots of them in Organ.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, which leads me to believe, especially since it was
- 24:33Speaker 1: filmed in Canada, that are intel about it being filmed
- 24:36Speaker 1: in the summer is correct. It was beautiful and sunny
- 24:40Speaker 1: and warm lighting, like warm looking. I liked that, yeah too.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Mollie doesn't have an online portfolio.
- 24:52Speaker 2: She doesn't have a website something.
- 24:54Speaker 1: She doesn't have some sort of digital portfolio she can share.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Please overnight me my portfolio. Use me. You see her
- 25:01Speaker 1: editing photos on a big, beautiful computer. You're telling me
- 25:04Speaker 1: she doesn't have some sort of PDF she can shoot
- 25:07Speaker 1: over to this dude.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I know totally.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I thought it was weird too. She printed out a
- 25:12Speaker 2: picture at one point and I was like, that's weird.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Is that just like your regular old laser jet printer
- 25:18Speaker 2: at home? I know, I don't know what photographers have.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Maybe that was a nice printer, but I don't know.
- 25:26Speaker 2: It just was weird to me. I have another one.
- 25:29Speaker 2: So when they're in Los Angeles and Corey says, Molly,
- 25:33Speaker 2: I'm going to take you out on some I've arranged
- 25:36Speaker 2: some alternate transportation, and then the next scene they show
- 25:40Speaker 2: them on like a two seater bike, a tandem bike,
- 25:43Speaker 2: and I was like, not in La dude, the alternate
- 25:46Speaker 2: transportation are the electric scooters, and that would have been cooler.
- 25:50Speaker 1: That would have been cooler. Yeah, not as cute, but
- 25:54Speaker 1: come up. I know, I was thinking, like, riding a
- 25:57Speaker 1: tandem bicycle through the traffic of Beverly Hills so terrified me,
- 26:01Speaker 1: especially without a helmet.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Listen, Oh, totally right. Yeah, nobody rides bikes in LA
- 26:08Speaker 2: like it is. The traffic is so dangerous, that's yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't ride it on the sidewalk because it's
- 26:14Speaker 1: too crowded, and you can't ride in the street because
- 26:16Speaker 1: you'll just get moved down.
- 26:17Speaker 2: No. Yeah, but you can ride those birds, so.
- 26:21Speaker 3: It's you can.
- 26:23Speaker 1: They were recording on a camcorder for their social media footage,
- 26:27Speaker 1: whips out a camera to take a boomerang an iPhone.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I know. I was just imagining the hassle of like
- 26:37Speaker 1: downloading the footage off of that camquorder and then they're
- 26:41Speaker 1: recording it for social media, and that camcorder is going
- 26:44Speaker 1: to record in landscape and they need it in portrait.
- 26:47Speaker 2: For only only the girls. That are only the people
- 26:56Speaker 2: that know the back ground of what is required for
- 27:00Speaker 2: social media. Yeah, pickup on these.
- 27:03Speaker 1: And then he records the boomerang in landscape too. I
- 27:06Speaker 1: was like, dude, so funny. Somebody on set needs to
- 27:10Speaker 1: know what's going on here.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Okay, So when they went out to the food trucks
- 27:16Speaker 2: to get lunch or whatever. They choose crepes from the
- 27:21Speaker 2: food truck. And look at if I'm going to get
- 27:24Speaker 2: food off a food truck situation, like when they have
- 27:27Speaker 2: a whole bunch of them, like that you're getting like
- 27:30Speaker 2: a taco or like a gourmet like hot dog or
- 27:33Speaker 2: something like. LA is not a hotbed for crepes. And
- 27:37Speaker 2: so I just thought that was so weird that that's
- 27:40Speaker 2: what they chose to eat.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure there's a crape truck, but that's dessert.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I was like, give me food.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:48Speaker 1: They wanted it to feel fancy. Yeah, and food truck
- 27:51Speaker 1: food isn't typically fancy.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I mean it can be, but I'm sure this situation was.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Not needed something they could eat with a fork as
- 28:01Speaker 1: opposed to like showing a taco or a hot dog
- 28:03Speaker 1: in their mouth. I guess, I guess, Do you have
- 28:06Speaker 1: anything else?
- 28:07Speaker 2: I do? Go? Okay, So this is a Beverly Hills wedding.
- 28:12Speaker 2: He comes to Oregon. He's going to create a Beverly
- 28:15Speaker 2: Hills style wedding in Oregon, and they have the jankiest
- 28:20Speaker 2: altar setup.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Did you just notice it?
- 28:23Speaker 1: I didn't notice it.
- 28:24Speaker 2: It was awful. It was so awful, Like the whole
- 28:30Speaker 2: like styling of this wedding was terrible.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I did notice there were lots of fake flowers. When
- 28:37Speaker 1: they were looking at flowers, it was looking at the daisies.
- 28:40Speaker 1: They were straight up like from Michael's.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 2: It just was like they could have created something so
- 28:48Speaker 2: much more beautiful, and it was.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I mean, I did think when they walked into the
- 28:53Speaker 1: barn and the opening scene right after they had gotten engaged,
- 28:55Speaker 1: it seemed very obvious that that should be the wedding location,
- 29:00Speaker 1: Like where could we possibly get married? I was like,
- 29:02Speaker 1: how about this big open space right here?
- 29:04Speaker 3: Folks?
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I know what it cost you a thing to
- 29:07Speaker 1: rent the space.
- 29:08Speaker 2: And speaking of that, like they just have like parents there.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I mean they were just like trying to surprise them
- 29:15Speaker 2: and it was like, oh, there's four people here to
- 29:17Speaker 2: say congratulations too. I don't know, I mean that was
- 29:21Speaker 2: probably like a COVID thing. There's no friends there. There's
- 29:24Speaker 2: no like best friend of Molly and Jordan, you know,
- 29:28Speaker 2: not no Sophia and Jordan.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I was annoyed by that.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Is there anything else, my dear?
- 29:34Speaker 1: I have nothing else?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Okay, so just a couple of very funny lines I
- 29:39Speaker 2: want to throw at you. Yes, okay, So when the
- 29:43Speaker 2: wedding planner meets the two dudes, he's like, where did
- 29:47Speaker 2: where did these? Who are these guys? And he goes
- 29:50Speaker 2: straight out of Central Casting and then Corey says more
- 29:54Speaker 2: like straight out of Oregon. I almost died. I had
- 29:57Speaker 2: to like rewind it so many times to listen to
- 29:59Speaker 2: it because I thought it was so funny.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Well, I had he mumbles that line. I had to
- 30:04Speaker 1: put on clothes captioning because I could not hear the
- 30:07Speaker 1: last line. I just I couldn't hear what he was saying.
- 30:11Speaker 1: But yes, I did think that was funny.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I thought that was really funny. And then there was
- 30:14Speaker 2: another one about like who eats cake anymore? There's too
- 30:17Speaker 2: many carbs, and Jordan's like, I like carbs.
- 30:21Speaker 3: It's just funny.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I just thought the writing was pretty good in this
- 30:24Speaker 2: movie with an session of the character development of Molly.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Other than that, I really liked it.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I did think some of Brendan's lines were a little
- 30:32Speaker 1: like they didn't flow flow like conversation. Corey Brendan's path lines. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 1: like when he was like, I'm deeply sorry. I was like, Oh,
- 30:40Speaker 1: that doesn't feel like something you would say, like, I
- 30:43Speaker 1: don't know. That line didn't feel natural to me coming
- 30:45Speaker 1: out of his mouth. But and then there's another point
- 30:48Speaker 1: where they're in a restaurant having a conversation, and I
- 30:50Speaker 1: thought like his dialogue didn't flow with his character. But overall,
- 30:56Speaker 1: I did think the writing was good in this movie.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I liked it. What are you going to rate it?
- 30:59Speaker 3: It?
- 31:02Speaker 2: It's so hard to rate the first movie it is.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I want to say three stars.
- 31:08Speaker 1: That's exactly what I gave it.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Okay, good, okay, okay, gay good.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Like I wanted to almost drop it to two and
- 31:13Speaker 2: a half, but at two and a half doesn't feel
- 31:16Speaker 2: very like good.
- 31:17Speaker 1: And I thought I liked it, So it's possible that
- 31:20Speaker 1: I will like other movies more. You know, there is
- 31:22Speaker 1: a higher rating than three. But I enjoyed this. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: wasn't annoyed with it. I wasn't bored. I didn't want
- 31:28Speaker 1: to turn it off. I wasn't rushing to get through it.
- 31:31Speaker 1: So it's a solid three star movie for me.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I agree.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Now are you looking forward to the other movies and
- 31:37Speaker 2: the Love Ever After series?
- 31:40Speaker 1: Well, so next week is playing Cupid, and one thing
- 31:46Speaker 1: that I think is so in that movie. First of all,
- 31:49Speaker 1: it's a modern day retelling of Emma uh huh, and
- 31:53Speaker 1: the daughter in the movie begins a business for a
- 31:56Speaker 1: school project. And for me, I'm excited to see that
- 32:01Speaker 1: because my husband teaches a class like that and I
- 32:03Speaker 1: just enjoy I'm curious to see how they do that.
- 32:08Speaker 1: That looks cute. And you know, I love Tyler Hines
- 32:11Speaker 1: and he is in the final movie. On February twenty seventh,
- 32:16Speaker 1: it was Always You featuring Aaron Krackow.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really excited for playing Cupid. I'm also excited
- 32:25Speaker 2: for mix up in a Mediterranean.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Except I hate the image they have created for this movie.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Why because it has these like two giant man faces
- 32:36Speaker 1: and her like eaty meany teeny tiny daddie in the middle.
- 32:39Speaker 1: It feels like they're like the Angel and Devil on
- 32:42Speaker 1: her shoulder. I don't like the graphic, but obviously they
- 32:47Speaker 1: did not shoot a photo together.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I'm so confused by this movie because, first of all,
- 32:53Speaker 2: I think her name is Jessica. I don't know how
- 32:56Speaker 2: to say her last name Lowendez, do you louns? I
- 33:00Speaker 2: don't know she played Silver on the nine O two
- 33:04Speaker 2: one oh remake, you know, like a newber version of
- 33:07Speaker 2: Beverly two one oh. She played Aaron Silver, Like, okay, anyway,
- 33:12Speaker 2: I just think she's gorgeous. Now, what I'm confused about
- 33:16Speaker 2: is the other dude is played by Jeremy Jordan. And
- 33:20Speaker 2: if you recall from like the nineties, there was like
- 33:22Speaker 2: a singer named Jeremy Jordan, and I always get confused, like,
- 33:26Speaker 2: is this that Jeremy Jordan, But it's not that Jeremy Jordan.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Well, and speaking of Nino two and oh, there's like, uh,
- 33:32Speaker 1: they used his music and there's like a outgoing piece
- 33:35Speaker 1: where Donna goes, Jeremy Jim Jordan, right right, yes, girl,
- 33:40Speaker 1: but she's like playing it on the jukebox, and yes,
- 33:43Speaker 1: memory is that she's playing it at the peach pit.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Yes, So every time I see the words Jeremy Jordan,
- 33:48Speaker 2: I go Jeremy Jordan, all right, always always, Oh my gosh,
- 33:53Speaker 2: for full circle moment here with Beverly Hills.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that's so funny.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I can't believe. I just thought I was the only
- 34:00Speaker 2: other weirdo who like thought that.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Because they did it at the end of multiple episodes.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I did enjoy this song quite a bit
- 34:13Speaker 2: and right kind of love.
- 34:15Speaker 3: That's not the same dude.
- 34:16Speaker 1: As we mentioned. Next week we'll be talking about Playing Cupid,
- 34:19Speaker 1: the second of four movies in the Love Ever After
- 34:22Speaker 1: series from the Hallmark Channel. And of course you can
- 34:24Speaker 1: get our regular Tuesday episodes when every Tuesday. We would
- 34:28Speaker 1: love it if you would take a listen to those
- 34:30Speaker 1: and if you're enjoying our show, we would really love
- 34:33Speaker 1: it if you would take a second and give us
- 34:35Speaker 1: a rating and a review. It helps us a ton.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Not only do we enjoy reading them, but it helps
- 34:42Speaker 1: people find our podcast and you know, we just want
- 34:45Speaker 1: to share the Hallmark low what's everybody? So, thank you
- 34:47Speaker 1: so much for listening. Have a great week. We'll see
- 34:50Speaker 1: you soon. Bye bye,
