- 0:11Hello friends, it's Sean here. It's Friday, it's the 27th of
- 0:16June. And how good are you making it
- 0:18to the end of another week? Ah, here we are right on the
- 0:22precipice of the weekend. And I hope that that is a good
- 0:25place for you as you look forward to some time with a
- 0:29little bit more space to enjoy some some of the good things
- 0:34that you enjoy doing other than being a productive human all the
- 0:36time. And of course, today being
- 0:39Friday, we are going to read some proverbs together, some of
- 0:43that wonderful wisdom of Solomon spoken through the ages to us.
- 0:48So you're ready, you're ready to get a little smarter, get a
- 0:50little wiser in the way that we live.
- 0:53Yeah. Our Holy Spirit, open us up so
- 0:56that your wisdom won't just bounce off our ears, but it may
- 1:00seep into us, transforming us into the people you know.
- 1:05We can be You, beauty. Let us do it.
- 1:11Let us read together. Proverbs 14, seven to 12.
- 1:25Stay away from fools. You won't find knowledge on
- 1:28their lips. They're prudent to understand
- 1:33where they are going, but fools deceive themselves.
- 1:40Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek
- 1:45reconciliation. Each heart knows its own
- 1:52bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.
- 1:59The House of the wicked will be destroyed, that the tent of the
- 2:03godly will flourish. There is a path before each
- 2:10person that seems right, but it ends in death.
- 2:19And again, stay away from fools, for you won't find knowledge on
- 2:24their lips. The prudent understand where
- 2:30they are going, but fools deceive themselves.
- 2:36Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek
- 2:41reconciliation. Each heart knows its own
- 2:47bitterness, and no one else can fully share its joy.
- 2:54The House of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the
- 2:57godly will flourish. There is a path before each
- 3:03person that seems right, but it ends in death.
- 3:19Oh, oh Lord, if only it was so easy to know the difference
- 3:22between the wise and the foolish, as it seems in the
- 3:25Proverbs. And Lord, here you make this
- 3:29clear distinction that when our conscience, when your spirit
- 3:34prompts us that we are in the wrong, only a fool would make
- 3:38light of that situation. But your way is to acknowledge
- 3:43our wrong and to seek reconciliation.
- 3:46Now, Jesus, may we be people of reconciliation.
- 3:52May we be people who can put aside our egos.
- 3:56And when we've made a mistake, ah, that we could do the hard
- 4:00thing to put a hand up and say, yeah, I made a mess of this, I'm
- 4:04so sorry. And be reconciled.
- 4:10Lord, just give us your vision, Your vision that looks beyond
- 4:14the pain of the moment and the discomfort of the moment to see
- 4:18reconciliation and healed relationships again on the other
- 4:21side of that process so that we can continue to be your people
- 4:26and bring about your Kingdom, where we are not split off from
- 4:31each other, but we come together in wholeness before you, our
- 4:36loving God, who's forgiven us more than we could possibly ever
- 4:40know. Oh, you are good to us and we
- 4:44love you, and we pray that we could be more like you every
- 4:48day. And we pray all of this in your
- 4:51precious name, Jesus, Amen.
