- 2:46if you would. Tonight I have. I want my guests to introduce their
- 2:53self. If you would please introduce yourself. Good evening year. I've been
- 3:00in the cars for six twenty years and I've been on the show a few
- 3:04songs. I'm a little nervous, but it's all good because I know what
- 3:08you guys are doing is doing something very positive. I'm all about that.
- 3:14In twenty twelve, I gave my life to Price and I've been purpose be
- 3:19purpose, do all things with our Price. And I don't want to speak
- 3:24you guy about forgiveness. And it's not just for my personal self, of
- 3:29my personal pathway. It's one of the hardest subjects that be Hunian Christians have
- 3:36actually put in emotions. I've been locked up in this prison for about twenty
- 3:42years, and it's it's it's own little realm, it's own little micro universe.
- 3:46A lot of time, when you see TV shows or the news or
- 3:50whatever, they speak to prison as a negative place, a place of hopelessness,
- 3:54mundane repetitions alright, and here and world offents and family and freedom and
- 4:01all those things that you know are beautiful. They have to saying in here.
- 4:06They talk about rain. You know, the rain is eventually gonna get
- 4:10you within. But in prisons that's not actually straight true. A lot of
- 4:14people they actually don't get a chance to see weather change. There's a lot
- 4:18of people here that make you really think that you'll never be able to kind
- 4:23again. You mean for me, I know that I'm a singer, I
- 4:29know that I've been just from and I called myself a christ I want to
- 4:34ask out a good question. My question is who are we? And we
- 4:39are not the labels to be placed upon ourselves. You know, when you
- 4:44say that you're a Christian, you're supposed to certain things. You're supposed to
- 4:46follow the Bible. You're supposed to follow with the commandment that the Bible says.
- 4:51How much to the Bible that we actually follow? H a falseul person.
- 4:59I can't even pick up stone throw at anybody else, how liferble did
- 5:05you take your faith? That's another question I want you guys to ponder upon.
- 5:12And this ham in Matthew eighteen twenty one, he said, uh,
- 5:16that Peter came up and said to him, for how often when my brother
- 5:21said against me? And I forgive him as many as seven times? Jesus
- 5:26said up to him a time, say second time? But se many times
- 5:29seven. And from there they talk about a terrible of the of an unforgiving
- 5:34servant. I'm not gonna going that, but that servant he owed his master
- 5:43a lot of money, and his master forgave him for the servant earnestly asked
- 5:46for forgiveness, and then the same servant went out to people who owed him
- 5:51and tried to get his get his money back a head. And uh,
- 5:56he wasn't merciful at all. He wasn't merciful at all. And his master
- 6:00heard of this, and then he judged the risen definite times seven factus ended
- 6:08up in just four hundred and nineties. So you have the people four hundred
- 6:12and ninety times. That's what Jesus did you really have to forgive our neighbors
- 6:15four hundred ninety times that after that we're good. No, that's not it
- 6:20to me talking about the Bible, that it's a living book. Who I
- 6:24be centured that it's been around, it's send here as a guide of every
- 6:27single detail of my life, and there's so many truths in it. You
- 6:32know, in prison you get a lot of time, well, you get
- 6:35a lot of time to think. That's something I was neighbors do before across
- 6:39the ration, you actually get the large time critically think now I ask you
- 6:45got the question, well we we are not legally placed upon ourselves, I
- 6:50said a Christian. But then my truly obedience, have I've done above and
- 6:55beyond? Have I've done my best? Am I just a hero of the
- 7:00word and not a throw of the word. There's a state comings diry and
- 7:04they got this little thing they say, showy state. I like that because
- 7:09they always try to prove to you exactly what they're talking about. And I
- 7:13ran across this this uh the saints from the Saint prinstance of a seat and
- 7:17he says that teach them get faith and use words that you have to.
- 7:23But I hear that use words that you have to what mean us to say,
- 7:26teach them? And a part of teaching is communicating talking to someone.
- 7:30But you then always have to talk some tops. You can just show them
- 7:31with their actual actions. They have another little sansomwhere in the Bible that says
- 7:39faith from a little and faithful that much. And this means that the little
- 7:42things you do add up to the big things you do. You know in
- 7:47the Bible says there's no half service there's some traveling the fi. There's no
- 7:51there's no mediocre, there's no luke warm for me being a feeling. It's
- 7:58all and nothing. I have a sentence that it's a long sentence, but
- 8:01uh, he turned his deathing longer than that. So forgiveness, right,
- 8:07that's what we're talking about tonight. I'm not gonna name any names, but
- 8:11I gotta list. I think everybody's gotta live. My listen is a little
- 8:16bit different. It's too part. The first part is people that I'm want,
- 8:20people that I want to go back, and I want to just prove
- 8:22to them. I might change poll them, proof to them my worth,
- 8:24posing in them by I'm actually worth it. I have another list, This
- 8:30other lis is ah, it's the people I need to I need to forgive.
- 8:35I'm gonna I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm I'm a real Christian.
- 8:37So this is a work in progress for me. Again, I'm not
- 8:41perfect. I know I'm for far for perfect. But I do know a
- 8:50guy. You know, everybody knows one of those guys. You know that
- 8:54guy, that guy where you see him and he goes, he shake your
- 9:00head side to side like a man. I can't believe this guy's here again,
- 9:03one of those guys. I'm not gonna say his name. I'm not
- 9:07even gonna give you a full detail account of him or or or anything what
- 9:11he has actually done. I can stop a lot of verified for Rouli victual
- 9:16about this guy's personal disposition, but I'm not. The truth is I just
- 9:22don't like him. I don't like him because of his past. It's a
- 9:26big thing. Abraham Lincoln Stead, I don't like a man. I don't
- 9:31like that man. He stops going to get to know him better. I
- 9:35thought that was pretty cool. He said he sees a guy that he really
- 9:37just doesn't like, doesn't the right, doesn't like him. He just says,
- 9:41I don't like that man, but I'm going to get to know him
- 9:43better. What I did. But I learned if I this individual that I
- 9:50told you I don't like, you know that guy. I learned that the
- 9:54officers and they met up, the staff, security, everybody that's around the
- 9:58place that I'm in this room, but I'm in everybody has the consistence about
- 10:01this guy. Nobody likes him. In prisoners, it's about four types of
- 10:07people. He got those that change for the good. He got those that
- 10:13learned better techniques to become a better criminal. You got those people that hide
- 10:16and pretend or deny and they remain the same. And in this last category,
- 10:22you got those people that cause commemity, people that like to bring others
- 10:26down there, wrap it home. You know. They say that the crafts
- 10:28in the buck could help crafts keep pulling the other crafts down. That's this
- 10:31guy. See the past ten years, anybody that's been on anything positive,
- 10:39they become a target in this man's times. Now this guy, I won't
- 10:43go into, you know, too much detail. This guy's a genius.
- 10:46Well, he's a genia said deniable, plausibility, manipulation and over sok sugar
- 10:52sugar reason. I don't know if that's sugar reason. H. He's good
- 10:56at this direction. To paint you a little bit of a picture, go
- 11:01council. I count another gentleman, uh back in the day fifteen years ago,
- 11:05and this gentleman was a former influencer of megativity that was linked to a
- 11:11lot of violence and specific color as identification of this group. So I helped
- 11:18this man transition out of that area, out of that arrangement. I became
- 11:22somewhat of a trusted advisor or a the ageon in touch transactions. Basically,
- 11:28what I'm saying is people that were in games that helped them get out of
- 11:31that game anyway. One of my charges he introduced me to this guy,
- 11:37you know that guy and this guy who he said that he was one of
- 11:41those people that was also transitioning to I took him that faith by you,
- 11:45as I had no evidence to time. That was about first Kiden. For
- 11:50six years, I've used this guy, you know, tipped people, tipped
- 11:54people in the higher just pure anger. And he's done it so many times.
- 12:00Sometimes it's hits in violence. Sometimes it's hitting somebody getting moved or or
- 12:03a big argument or a disagreement. I thought it odd at the time because
- 12:09the person positioned of something different and then you moved away, moved to a
- 12:15different county. You will by this prison. So in prison, this unit
- 12:18particularly, it is a five thousand man units. It's like a campus,
- 12:24maybe a small high school campus for a small college. Captain, get very
- 12:28into it between highland. Mind that everybody knows everybody's business. If something happens,
- 12:33we all know about it. In COVID struck, you know, culture
- 12:37was very bad in the free world, because it's very bad and good to
- 12:41UH. We quarantined, but how do you quarantine in a place designed to
- 12:43keep people together? Anyway? I ended up in this man's neighborhood. You
- 12:50know, you pass somebody every day and you say, I ain't by,
- 12:52but you don't really have to get to know them. Whoever really just messed
- 12:54with him like that? Just you know, if you pass some words,
- 12:58I usually gonna need to be honest with you. Ignored them or or just
- 13:03avoided his past this way. And you know what, all of the neighbors
- 13:07that story about him, every last one of them a story about bad guy.
- 13:13You know, time and last just things happened, People move on,
- 13:16people change. I end up relocating to uh for a better words. I
- 13:20end up relocating to a street, you know, just a few houses down.
- 13:24I couldn't see and hear him, But it wasn't like he was the
- 13:28part of my life, because he was just somebody else was around. You'll
- 13:31see that bad neighbor, that bad neighbor that on the street. They uh,
- 13:35they don't maintain their property, they don't cut the grass. There's always
- 13:39something going on over there. Loud party, the fariest tracks of traffic for
- 13:43Beach Free. That was this guy and everyone. Yeah, I watched this
- 13:50man met Maria the youngsters. The Bible has this thing about false teachers,
- 13:54people would teach someone and leave them a straight I watched this man make up
- 13:58the fanciful stories that used to just justify this concert or downplayed accountability. You
- 14:05know, a very sigory approach, you know, the one that the older
- 14:09people uh that we grew up around, They tell us, watch out for
- 14:11those types of people. You know, you see a person like that,
- 14:13that's usually something going on. Nobody gives that many car compliments, Nobody is
- 14:18always that happy personally. I've just seen this guy. Just hope I'm gonna
- 14:24have to interact with this dude. I didn't want to do anything negative with
- 14:28him. I didn't want to, I didn't want to be around him.
- 14:31I prayed for relief, I prayed for patience. I played for deeper say,
- 14:37I played for answers, and I got that. You know, when
- 14:41you bridge themselves, you get exactly what you needed, not what you want.
- 14:46That guy left, He left, and that it was out of my
- 14:50hair. I didn't have to deal with him anymore. Somehow, some way,
- 14:54he got a self help class to, you know, help them on
- 14:56his own journey. Everybody in the neighborhood, ah man, we all relaxed.
- 15:01We even throw a party, few a party because we didn't have to
- 15:03deal with his his ignorance, never to deal with his behavior anymore. What
- 15:09was cool, though, was I diligently studied. Something told me, I
- 15:13was, I'm gonna return to the same problem. Something told me, I
- 15:16would you know, you read what your soul, but you're also so what
- 15:18you reaped, the scene that you put out when they come back to you.
- 15:22I knew that I had been repurposed for a whole different purpose. I
- 15:26knew that I couldn't run through my problems anymore. I knew that I had
- 15:28to at least stay and deal with them. Guess what happened a year later,
- 15:35Well, he returned. He said he changed. He told everybody that,
- 15:39and then he knew right across the street from him, Like if I
- 15:43come out of my front door, I can see him. When I lay
- 15:45down at night, I can see him. But he said he changed.
- 15:50He said he changed. I ended up becoming this focus because of his nearness.
- 15:54Too. They say flattering, They say, when the first accomplishing is
- 16:03a form of flattery. This new copy my every move. If I walk
- 16:07up at three in the morning, he would wake up at three in the
- 16:10morning. If I started working out, he would work out. Just did
- 16:14a whole bunch of little subtle things to attack me. If I was praying,
- 16:18he would try to play music real loud or have a party. If
- 16:22I was sleeping, he would talk really loud, or you know, just
- 16:26anything to annoy me, to antagonize me. I believe right then and there
- 16:30if he's trying to force me into a violent interaction with it, or at
- 16:34least a negative interaction. What was so crazy about this guy was after he
- 16:42gets you upset, he would come back to this sugary in this and then
- 16:47he had what's called deniable palmalinity. I mentioned that before, and he would
- 16:52do something and then deny all. I didn't mean to do it that way.
- 16:55I didn't know going to affect you that way. I didn't know you
- 16:56felt that way about what I just did. Apologize to the fullness and you
- 17:02could get at them because well, he will manipulate clients in that fan.
- 17:08He had this one technique where he would shoot shots and prison we have to
- 17:12sing where someone shoots shots. And what they do is they'll say something I'm
- 17:15gonna use Dallas Cowboys for example, I hate Dallas Cowboys fans. And so
- 17:19every Dallas Cowboys fan turns and looks at you, and they're wondering, who
- 17:22are you talking to? You just shot in here. Oh no, I'm
- 17:25not talking to you, guys. I'm just saying in terrible I hate Dallas
- 17:30Cowboys. He would do this. He would do this. I do John
- 17:34Cowboys the way anyway. A lot of his altercations have I started investigating.
- 17:44Rather of his altercations, they targeted people who were continuely change people, good
- 17:48Christian brothers, a lot of the guys that are in the Free Texas program.
- 17:53He would target these individuals and he would try to bring them down.
- 17:56He would try to call calamity, tried to cause them to step outside of
- 18:00their character and revert to a former disposition of negativity. This guy had gid
- 18:07it to well. He had giped the false to teach the youngsters, and
- 18:11he could teach him in proper things in the Bible. People teach him whatever
- 18:15he could teach him that was just negative and not correct. He colluded to
- 18:21put me in a situation where people who were former affiliates or affiliates, so
- 18:26if I had disrespected them by taking their homeboys away. Basically, he tried
- 18:30to get me jumped by other games what they knew I was. So my
- 18:36disposition in God, my disposition in my faithful helps me do that situation.
- 18:41This person actually stole some personal information from me, and this information that wasn't
- 18:45my personal information that belonged to my mentor and then gets what he did.
- 18:52He said, it didn't happen that way. This was a happenstance to a
- 18:55circumstance, but it wasn't that he did several over intodents And this is around
- 19:00this area, around this place, around this fron this realm, and a
- 19:06lot of people are just really want to get out of proke our mentor there.
- 19:11My mentor's name is Cornell Drummer, by the way, and my mentor
- 19:15he told me, we can't do that. We have to we have to
- 19:17live by what we're talking about. We can't just pick one thing out of
- 19:18the Bible that we're gonna follow and do it and then pick something elseide and
- 19:22said we're not gonna do that. We have to do it all the way
- 19:25fully above and beyond at our sharpes, SI my brother talking them correctly,
- 19:30and that's when we brought up our our trespasses to this individual, you know,
- 19:34became the terns. We laid out all of our issues, and you
- 19:37know, I actually forgave them at that point, I did what I thought
- 19:41was correct in the eyes of God. Two are we if we're not the
- 19:47label? Different place upon ourselves? The truth? I became hypocritical of this
- 19:53person. You know how they say I forgive, I ain't never gonna forget.
- 19:59That's what I did. I forgotten. Real life is not easy.
- 20:03It's not easy to forget people. People say stay back of judgment, and
- 20:08we're told not to judge, but that does not mean non action if we
- 20:15are not the label that he plays a part of ourselves. I'm a Christian,
- 20:18I following Price, yet I still hold on to some of those oldest
- 20:22flights. I forget, but I didn't forget. You know, It's funny.
- 20:29I asked for mercy all the time. I ask for the world to
- 20:30see me and my change and then the path that I'm on. Yet four
- 20:36hundred mint of times it seems like that's enough. Actually, it's not enough
- 20:38to deal with this guy, it's not. I was always talking to be
- 20:45precise and speech. So let me tell you the definition of mercy. Actually,
- 20:51it's compassion or forbearings shown especially to an offender or to one subject to
- 20:59another who was in the other's power. It's lenient, compassionate. Do you
- 21:04remember the game of mercy back and bring over kids? We linked fingers in
- 21:08you hand in hand, put our fingers in between each other, and we
- 21:11flip our wrists up and we have the strongest well they can to get other
- 21:15person to stay mercy. Y. I submit basically, and you would do
- 21:18it to the other person's side. This is the form of submission. When
- 21:23we are in pain, have to submis I've been in grant and for long.
- 21:29This is why I came to Trice, and I truly submitted to God.
- 21:33Though in everything am I truly being obedient in everything that label that I
- 21:37put on when I say that I'm a Christian, I am really dead truth.
- 21:44People always say that truth is fixed and it does not change. I
- 21:48learned that we can not let our virus for a specific outcome or revolt cridu
- 21:51perceptions. See for me being in this place truth, the subjectives have the
- 21:56law of the law. We kept the final lines. We can't define the
- 22:02legal terms. But we can't define the legal lines. The truth that I'm
- 22:06talking about is beginning. It's just physical. You can't strive to fit here.
- 22:11There's no luke warm there's no kind of sort of almost but not quite.
- 22:15Truth is very, very very complicated in its simplicity. It's actually very
- 22:22definitely very easy to be true. You know, it's crazy, they say
- 22:26the truthful centire for him. It doesn't always fit you. Sometimes it brings
- 22:30you closer to something that's already trapped by one. Right now, I know
- 22:41that I gave from all in forgiven this person four than four hundred and ninety
- 22:44times. I know I gave more before them any time. But that's not
- 22:48what that scripture means. It means so above and beyond. It means actually
- 22:53trust in what God has put down. This is a faithful father with it.
- 23:00Forget. This person may go off that way and have a clear mind
- 23:04and then confess and then come to me, comes talk to me, say
- 23:08I know that I serve God because God has the desition for me. Always
- 23:12asked, even if I didn't know for myself. I told you earlier that
- 23:15I prayed for more patience, I played for a deeper understanding. I paid
- 23:18for it. I'm pray for a different faith, and I received those things.
- 23:22I earnestly, honestly forgave this guy, and that's hardful person like myself.
- 23:30I didn't I even gave the gentleman the opportunity that would have been positively
- 23:36beneficial form. You know, sometimes when they never know what a person's actual
- 23:41intentions or or their logistics or the reasoning doing something and why they behave the
- 23:45way they behave, I don't know that. Sometimes we have the only Bible.
- 23:49A person that's ever views how we move and how we act and affect
- 23:52people. Sometimes he might be the only person that has actually ever given a
- 23:56person forgetting you might experim them into type of action that might change the course
- 24:02of history. Who are we? We are not relatings that have set upon
- 24:07ourselves. The truth is the dude, spend my faith, not literally,
- 24:14not literally, expect my faith. He took an opportunity and he just he
- 24:19threw it away. I'm looking at this do right now in the days room,
- 24:23and uh, he's inebriated. I'm not mentioning on him, but he's
- 24:26inebriated. He's doing the same thing that he always does. But I know
- 24:32that I dealt with him in the most civil and biblical ways. I know
- 24:36that when God take you forgive him, I'm kid and then what he does
- 24:38now, I don't even worry about it, because the God who sees his
- 24:42secrets, he knows what more heart is about. Thank you, guys,
- 24:48thank you. Wow, that is amazing. I want you to share with
- 24:59every because some people have not heard your story. Where are you currently now?
- 25:10Where are you currently now? My grand right now? Yeah, I
- 25:15mean a DVP. I'm it takes the Department of Criminal Justice and the I
- 25:26just because you you're you're speaking knowledge, You're speaking something that you know a
- 25:32lot of us we take for granted. You know, even in your situation,
- 25:37you're still able to be encouraging, You're still able to be uplifting,
- 25:42You're still able to be inspiring. And it just takes a special person to
- 25:51be able to do that, even with all that you are enduring, all
- 25:55that you're going through. You know and and and you talk about forgiving,
- 26:02and people have to understand that forgiveness is not always for the person that you
- 26:07are forgiven, but it's all it's also for you, and and and most
- 26:11of the time it's really for you. You know. We we often,
- 26:22we oftentimes are hindered from our blessings and those doors being open for us because
- 26:30we hold we hold unforgiveness in our heart and we carry around hatred, We
- 26:34carry around these things that will keep us out of the will of God.
- 26:38But then we say we're Christians. Yeah, that was one of the things
- 26:45that I initially when when I became a Christian twenty brou I was like,
- 26:48I don't like to get rid of my anger. What can I do to
- 26:52get rid of the feelings of hurt that that I feel like other people have
- 26:57calls in my life? And it was such a weight that I was carrying.
- 27:02You don't even know you're carrying a certain type of weight, you know.
- 27:04Uh. Medically, speaking of humans, we're able to adapt to so
- 27:07much. And you don't walk around with the scar, with the pain,
- 27:11with an injury for so long. Your body's got used to it, and
- 27:14so you think that's how you're supposed to walk. And so I had walked
- 27:17around with a type of banger for so long. When I gave it up,
- 27:21I was like, Wow, this is much more. And then with
- 27:23this this other individual I was dealing with and with, I had so much
- 27:30just animosity towards him for him behaving and acting the way he does, and
- 27:34then trying to slip out and say I was I was looking at the guy
- 27:37and I'm like, man, this didn't getting a lot of my energy.
- 27:40And I could be doing his paper, I could be doing this writing,
- 27:42I could be helping someone, I could be talking to someone about something positive.
- 27:45Get a focused on this guy, and I made up. I made
- 27:49my mind the eventually I had to make it. Eventually, the spiritual was
- 27:53gonna come. I had to make it up, manature, I had to
- 27:56make that big decision like, you know what, I'm not gonna let him
- 27:59do this. I'm know what's going on. I know what's going on.
- 28:02I'm gonna have to let Woodson. And so when I made up my mind
- 28:03to actually forgive this dude, ah man, I felt so light, and
- 28:08I felt so light. I felt everything get up off of me. And
- 28:12even when he spited back in my base and continued to take my little offer
- 28:15or that he been a push of him, I was like, you know
- 28:18what, I'm not even worried about it because I didn't exactly what I was
- 28:21supposed to do. And some of the guys that that followed me, they
- 28:23knew about the little uh intensive I gave them, you know, to turn
- 28:30over new leads. And now they were like, well, he just did
- 28:32that. It makes me so mad. I'm like, man, don't even
- 28:33worry about that, Godfather, And we did what we're supposed to do.
- 28:37I did what I'm supposed to do. And when you actually are mister Drummer
- 28:42always says this, when you're when you're in line with everything, everything else
- 28:47just falls into life and so so many things that can fall in the lines
- 28:51for me, and it was like the last little extra push up a step
- 28:53of faithfulness that I know I can see doing. I know I can give
- 28:56other things that I feel like they call them my life. And uh,
- 29:00I'm telling you that's what that's like. When he tells you confess to one
- 29:04another and you tell somebody, oh my God, to see what happens,
- 29:07and and that weight that you get off of you do that your friends.
- 29:11It does that your friend. It takes off the the extra shackles and wait,
- 29:15you know, guilt, and it's just a wonderful feeling wow. Well,
- 29:22I like always, I thank you for stopping by and sharing, sharing
- 29:27with me and be such an inspiration to to many. For those that don't
- 29:34know, Andrew is also a published author. He co authored in one of
- 29:44my anthologies. Even from behind prison walls, he's allowing his voice to speak
- 29:51and to speak loud. You know, oftentimes we think that we don't have
- 29:53a message or we don't have something that someone may may need. But regardless
- 30:00of his circumstances, regardless of what he's been through, he's allowing his voice
- 30:06to speak. He's definitely the change that he desired to see in this world.
- 30:11He's being that change. So again, I thank you for taking time
- 30:15out to share with us. You are in my prayers and I thank thank
- 30:22you for being that change and for being that leader and being that role model
- 30:27that others that are behind those walls with you can see and that they can
- 30:32see the creator in you. So thank you for just being and thank you
- 30:37for moving out your way and allowing God to be who he said he will
- 30:40be in our lives. And I just thank you. Is there anything that
- 30:44you would like to share with the listeners before we because I know your time
- 30:48is probably running out and that little recording gonna come home. So would you
- 30:52like to share anything within that one minute, I would like to say thank
- 31:00you. Guys, take the time to a dexamine some of the situations that
- 31:06you go into that you get into. Need to forgive yourself before you can
- 31:11forgive anyone else. Do you have to have that secret, secret conversation with
- 31:15God and just lay everything on the table for him. Somehow, some way
- 31:21You're gonna make a way. It's gonna make it just right, just right.
- 31:27Thank you very much, Angela, thank you. You have a great
- 31:33eva. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I tell you I
- 31:40have been working with some of the inmates there inside of TDCJ for a little
- 31:48over a year now. I've had the opportunity to connect with probably about forty
- 31:53incarcerated individuals. Some of these individuals they are incarcerated or overly incarcerated. Some
- 32:01of them they did do the crimes that they were charged with. Some of
- 32:06them did not. He, unfortunately, is one that he did his crime.
- 32:12He owned up to his crime. He is serving the time for his
- 32:15crime. And one thing he has done is fine forgiveness within himself so that
- 32:22he could be that that that inspiration for somebody else. See at the time,
- 32:25we hold things and the whole unforgiveness, and we hold stuff on the
- 32:31inside and we won't let it go. Well, he has found forgiveness within
- 32:37his selves so that he can be that inspiration to other people. He does.
- 32:44He teaches guys karate on the un Unit. He is, like I
- 32:50say, he's a poet, he writes. He's featured inside of one of
- 32:55my poetry anithologies. He's also going to be in this new poetry anathology that's
- 33:01gonna drop. It's gonna drop in December, so y'all get another opportunity to
- 33:07chime into some of his work. We're gonna have another collar calling in and
- 33:13just the moment, we're gonna do a commercial break while that collar is I'm
- 33:19waiting for that caller to call in. We're gonna share a commercial with you,
- 33:22guys. So y'all stick with me for just the moment and we'll be
- 33:27right back. Hey, and welcome to the Crew podcast. We are the

- 34:20He is now on the line. If you would please introduce yourself, introduce
- 34:25yourself, introduce yourself. Hello, Hello, Yes, if you introduce yourself
- 34:36for me, please yes, Hell. My name is Jimmy, y'all in
- 34:42Hell. Hi, Jimmy Johnson L. How are you going? All right?
- 34:47So, if you would share with those that are tuned in exactly who
- 34:53you are and your reason for showing up tonight. Well, Uh, like
- 35:01I said, my name is Jimmy Johnson L H. I'm from Baltimore,
- 35:06Maryland, and UH I came down here to Texas, UH from our prison
- 35:14into a program called Senacre. UH completed the program and never made it back
- 35:22home. I got got into some trouble in two thousand and eight, but
- 35:29it really wasn't no trouble. If I can, I'd like to tell my
- 35:32story what happened from the beginning, I'm chores UH. In two thousand and
- 35:38eight January the twelfth, UH, I was living in Spring Branch in Houston,
- 35:47off of in apartment complex off a Long Point in work and on this
- 35:52day of the twelve, I was supposed to meet a friend of mine at
- 35:54the pool hall down the street on Long Point, down the street from my
- 35:59apartment flex. So when I got to the pool hall to meet my friend,
- 36:02he wasn't there, and I called him and asked, what was going
- 36:06on? Right did you show up? He told me that they had a
- 36:08family emergency situation that you were't gonna be able to make it. So I
- 36:13left the pool hall and know my way back home to my apartment. I
- 36:16caught a headache and I took an astray as soon as I put the ashtra
- 36:21in my mouth. The next thing I know, I was being slammed down
- 36:23to the ground by a few undercover police officers. All I'm kick me in
- 36:29my rigs. I sipped the aspro back up which was left for crumbs,
- 36:32stepped back up on the ground and the police spooped it up and put it
- 36:37in a big block. Back said, yeah, we got it for cocaine.
- 36:39He said, I was trying to tell the police. I said,
- 36:42man, that that's not cocaine. It's ask We ain't trying to hear that
- 36:45this is cocaine. We know it's cocaine. So they locked me up and
- 36:49they took me to the police station on a long point. It helped me
- 36:52to hold in the area for about three hours. After I stayed in the
- 36:57holder and ask for about three hours, they took me downtown Houston to the
- 37:00Houston Houston City Police Department finger printing the process. So, while being processed,
- 37:08I asked the lady what was I being charged with. She said,
- 37:12you're being charged with campa and with fistal evidence named me cocaine and I told
- 37:16her, I said, miss, I never had cocaine. I tried to
- 37:20tell the police that I had asked her. She told me that there was
- 37:22nothing that she could do with it. She's just processing office and I had
- 37:25to deal with her in court. This is still on the one twelve January
- 37:30twelf twalvend eight. So I stayed at the city jail overnight. The next
- 37:35day, he transferred me to the Harrison County Jail. I stayed at the
- 37:39Harrison County Jail for two days. This is January fifteenth, two thousand and
- 37:44eight. They took me outstairs trial. At the time, I didn't know
- 37:49anything about the law, you know, I didn't know anything about campa with
- 37:52cocaine another. So they took the trial two days later on the fifteenth.
- 37:58When I got downstairs, a quarter for attorney name is is that you're wrong?
- 38:00God in his junior came in to talk to me. So he didn't
- 38:04ask me anything about the charge. He didn't ask me anything about what happened.
- 38:08The only thing he said to me was he said, look, the
- 38:12DA and the judge said they offered the two year ple deal today and today
- 38:16only. They said, if you don't take the two year p deal,
- 38:20they're gonna give you ten years if you come back on the reset. I
- 38:22said, wait a minute, Mathter hold on, I said, man,
- 38:25I never heard cocaine. He said, you sure you didn't have cocaine.
- 38:29I said, man, I've never heard cocaine. I had asked. So
- 38:31he said, well, let me go talk to the DA. So he
- 38:35left out. So fifteen minutes later he came back. He told me said
- 38:38look, me said, the DA said you had cocaine. You could take
- 38:42the two year p deal. Other day, Well, if you come back
- 38:45on the reset, they gonna make sure you get ten years, because,
- 38:47like I said, I didn't know anything about the law, and I fell
- 38:51a little. My back was against the wall, and I handle off the
- 38:52charge. I don't want to get no ten years, so I took the
- 38:54two year tree bill uh sentio two years, went to TDC dif the two
- 39:04years this job to two years in twenty ten. I stayed out of trouble
- 39:07for like two years and I ended up getting back in trouble for aggrevator robbery,
- 39:15which I'm locked up for now. In the birdy of habitation, I
- 39:20want you to trial they used in two thousand and eight prior condition that's an
- 39:29enhancement to enhancement to aggravated robbery and the bird rey of inhabitation. I ended
- 39:35up getting forty five years for the aggravated robbery, in twenty years for the
- 39:38birdy of inhabitation, staying to TDC forty five and twenty one running for current.
- 39:45So basically just had a forty five year sentence. After seven ten years
- 39:49on this forty five year sentence, I get some mail, some legal mail,
- 39:52and the mail from the head district attorney that Kim obb It's legal people
- 39:59that she said me was a non full taught order, stating that, uh,
- 40:04they made a mistake with the prior conviction that was used to enhance my
- 40:08sentences. She stated that the two thousand and eight judgment there was supposed to
- 40:15be cocaine. They said they made a mistake and charged me with camper with
- 40:20a dead body, so they accepted me. They convicted me at me camper
- 40:24with a dead body instead of cocaine. So they was using this non fu
- 40:29taught order to amend the judgment ten years later from a second degree felony camper
- 40:36with him, of course, to a third degree felon campa with cocaine.
- 40:42So after I received that, I fouled eleven or seven risks for newly discovered
- 40:49evidence. Stated that, no, my census was enhanced for a crime that
- 40:57I didn't commit, and I have evidence to prove it. Well. I
- 41:04founded two of almost seven risks and for some reason, somehow, by writs,
- 41:09the two wrists of that filed aggrevated Rodney working writch that that filed for
- 41:14the new sub evidence never made it to the trial court. Judge Kirk sent
- 41:17them straight to the Quarter Criminal Appeals, and the Quarter Criminal Appeals got them.
- 41:21They denied me without a written order because they say it was a subsequent
- 41:24writ but didn't say them about a subsequent writ for newly discovered evidence. So
- 41:31immediately wrote the Quarter Clintal Appeals and I asked them to send me a copy
- 41:37of the paperwork that the court, the Harrison County courtkirks sit there. So
- 41:44when I got a copy of the paperwork fell the quarter Criminal pills. I
- 41:47found out that. That's how I found out that the trial court never reviewed
- 41:52my eleven O seven but newly discovered everdance. So to me on investigating the
- 42:02law, ah, they DENI. I mean my due concess right to a
- 42:07favorite view I might eleven No seven riksh. So that's where I'm at now,
- 42:14trying to get back in court because the course, the trial court never
- 42:19even looked at my such aqua rest so we just cover evidence. But it's
- 42:23the main thing the issues that I wanted to make sure that they got out
- 42:28there was that from two thousand and eight. It's two thousand and eight case
- 42:35where I was arrested one day two days later I went to trial. They
- 42:40was forced and basically forcing it taking two years, threatened with ten years.
- 42:46And that's crazy because I got a question. So when they said that they
- 42:54was getting you for tappering with cocaine, Okay, did they did they drug
- 43:00test? You did? Did? Did they did they test the pill that
- 43:05you the aspiring that you had? No? Man, they did no field
- 43:08tests, they did no lab tests. Didn't this test me? So how
- 43:14did they determine that that was cocaine? I don't know, That's my thing.
- 43:20I don't know if you had the time. I didn't know nothing about
- 43:22the loss, so I didn't know them about it. They had to do
- 43:23a field test, or they had to do a lab test, or they
- 43:27had to fish me. I didn't even know that they had to bring it
- 43:30court infinet to show that it had cocaine before they could convict me. I
- 43:34know none of that. So they just convicted you on what they thought you
- 43:38had exactly. Yeah, that's that. And this is happening too many times,
- 43:44and this is this is this is sad, This is so sad.
- 43:47Then it happens over and over again. So they were able to use this
- 43:52again too to enhance your other charges. And this is what they do.
- 44:00They take because they taking prior convictions and they're adding our on because I think
- 44:07Texas is one of those states that the three strikes, especially when they had
- 44:12these three strikes, they it's just crazy how they can do that and they
- 44:15don't have evidence to prove that this has happened. I thought that we were
- 44:22innocent until proven guilty. So that means that they had to prove that you
- 44:30actually had cocaine, that that pill was actually cocaine. Now, normally,
- 44:37if in order to arrest you, they should have they have kids, they
- 44:42should have tested those that that that pill right there in front of you.
- 44:45Because now when they pull people over and they say that they have drugs in
- 44:50the car, now I'm speaking from me because I don't have to go through
- 44:52this before. I know, I don't been coming from Atlanta going to South
- 44:55Carolina and they told me that my car smell like marijuana, and they searched
- 45:02my whole entire car. Right, So if they and then they if I
- 45:08had a said no, they said they was gonna take me back. They
- 45:12was gonna take me to Anderson, which was the closest jurisdiction, take me
- 45:16there, book me, and then they would get a want to search my
- 45:20car. So I let them search my car. I ain't got nothing to
- 45:22high search my car. I know I didn't have no drugs search my car.
- 45:28But they were supposed they should have tested. They have kits to test
- 45:31for drugs. Now they can pull out these kids, they can test you.
- 45:37We see them all the time. Now. The state of Texas is
- 45:43so corrupt, y'all, it is ridiculous. If you google corruption in the
- 45:49state of Texas, the governor gonna pop up, the attorney general gonna pop
- 45:54up. It's just a lot of the head people that are in charge arch
- 46:00A're gonna pop up. I'm telling you. If y'all have not checked out
- 46:04Aspiring Offic's magazine, you need to check it out because there are some articles
- 46:07in there that would bring some light to what is going on in the state
- 46:12of Texas and in that corrupt judicial system. It is crupped from from the
- 46:17head to the bottom, and it's getting worser each and every day because stuff
- 46:24like this is happening right now. I'm telling you, there was an instance
- 46:30not even three weeks ago, there was a guy that had charges dismissed in
- 46:35San Antonio because there was a thirteen second office cam video of them. See,
- 46:45they didn't believe him. They didn't believe him. They said that he
- 46:49had drugs, they had took him. They didn't believe that. The officer.
- 46:52He was pulled over by a county officer. County officer was instructed to
- 46:59take him to the city of Antonio and San Antonio to meet some officers.
- 47:05They pulled him up behind the church. There was about eight officers waiting on
- 47:08him. One of the officers did not turn they body cam off in time
- 47:15enough and it caught thirteen seconds of them beating this man, pinning this man
- 47:20down on the ground, and trying to plant drugs on him. When this
- 47:27man kept saying that this was the case and this was what had happened to
- 47:30him, they told him that he was a bye and if it had not
- 47:35been for that thirteen second video that his lawyer found, that man would be
- 47:40in prison to this day. They was trying to get the man the poleable
- 47:44argum. They wanted him to take to what ten to twenty ten and fifteen
- 47:50something like that, But that thirteen second video saved him. But just imagine
- 47:55all these people that don't have that thirteen second video, that don't have that
- 48:00he didn't have that and they took the word of officers because they did not
- 48:07test the pills. They did not they did not pis this test him?
- 48:13You you talk about what they just did. They just did a lockdown in
- 48:16TDCJ. They they drug tested people. They was looking for drugs. They
- 48:21drug testing people. They talked about how many cases they had from people testing
- 48:24positive. So why they didn't drug test you? If you think that I
- 48:29got drugs, you think that I got drugs in me, didn't drug test
- 48:34me? That should have been grounds for another trial. Just the fact that
- 48:39they did not drug test you. That's crazy. The thing is, in
- 48:45my situation, the quarter upon attorney working for the star junior right attorney,
- 48:55they gave me a two thousand and eight. They also gave him give me
- 49:05And that's what they do. That's what they've been doing. They they have
- 49:10these court opponed lawyers, these public defenders, and then these people they moved
- 49:15their way up the ladder. They become assistant district attorneys, then they become
- 49:20district attorneys, and then they get on the Court of Appeals and then guess
- 49:22what, all the people that they put in prison they end up stand in
- 49:28prison until they parole out, they max out or or die because they become
- 49:36political prisoners because then they block them out the system. They block them out
- 49:39the system, and it's a sad and this is happening over and over and
- 49:45over again. I'm telling you, I got about thirty five forty people I'm
- 49:52working with, and every last one of these cases they resemble the same format.
- 49:59I mean that you look at the format, you look at the roles,
- 50:04you look at the repeat thing, the things that are similar in all
- 50:07of these cases in their story, all of their stories assembler. The State
- 50:15of Texas need to be held accountable. I feel like the Department of Justice
- 50:20need to come through the State of Texas because they need outside they they need
- 50:24outside intervention. They need someone outside of the State of Texas looking at all
- 50:30this stuff that's going on and to do something about it. Because they've been
- 50:34doing reviews. But how can you review? How can you reviews? And
- 50:38you are the person that is causing the problem. You are part of the
- 50:45problem, So how can you investigate when you are part of the problem.
- 50:49Instead of investigating, you just covering up. And see that's what's been happening
- 50:52that every DA that they've brought in the district attorney. They've had to cover
- 50:57up for the district attorney that was in the before because you we're looking at
- 51:01three to ten to three to four years of three to four decades, not
- 51:08years, I'm sorry, three to four decades of corruption that has plagued the
- 51:15state of Texas. I'm telling you that people don't believe me. All they
- 51:17got to do is Google Google corruption in the State of Texas. And I'm
- 51:22gonna tell you who's gonna pop up. Your governor gonna pop up, Grab
- 51:28Abbot and they call it the gop app. They say they got an app
- 51:32for that. Abbot, Paxton and Patrick, those are your three and they
- 51:40gonna pop up every time. I'm telling you. Grab your copy of Aspiring
- 51:45Author November edition of the magazine when it dropped. You'll see a lot of
- 51:50the things that has taking place in the state of Texas. And it's sad.
- 51:54It is sad. So tonight I want you, I want you to
- 52:00what can people do if there's somebody out there that's hearing this, and they
- 52:06may be in a place where they can they can assist you. They may
- 52:09be a lawyer, they may be a parent, legal they may just have
- 52:15some no happen. How can they assist you? Yeah, right now I'm
- 52:23in I'm going to a legal sentence because of their proper and their own is
- 52:28prighibition that was used to and ask my sentence also right now as up today,
- 52:34it's kim Ome agreed with kim Ome and the child court James agreed that
- 52:38they made a mistake. They amended a judgment, but they fell to amend
- 52:44everything that a judgment was connected to, the adjudstment was connected to the crime.
- 52:47When I'm in here for now, right now now, the judgment for
- 52:52the aggreator robbery still has a dead body. The burg wover habitation judgment still
- 52:55has a dead body. The indictments for the agg robbery in the still dead
- 53:00body. It still has a dead body. But they feel to change it.
- 53:08They feel do anything about it, not a roll them and wrote them
- 53:10and wrote them with no response for nobody. And that's what happens. You
- 53:16know. There's so many cases I'm dealing with, so many of y'all that
- 53:20that it is the same thing. I've had people that they have told that
- 53:24they were innocent, that they were that that DNA has has has has proved
- 53:30that they were innocent. If they are innocent, then why do you still
- 53:34have these people behind prison barbs? And then why is the court still handing
- 53:38down these these these these none, No, they're not gonna they can't do
- 53:43nothing. Their hands are tied. How somebody need I just don't get this,
- 53:51Like I really I don't get this. I I I don't know the
- 53:53law. I'm not a criminal justice major. I don't know. I'm I'm
- 53:58I'm learning a lot of this as I deal with you guys. But I
- 54:04just believe that right is right and that these people need to when you make
- 54:09a mistake, own up to your mistake. Okay, you made a mistake.
- 54:15Correct the mistake that you made. But see, they afraid to correct
- 54:21the mistake that they made because they know they've made it over and over and
- 54:23over again, and they know that it would be thousands of people that they
- 54:28would have to set free, and they would cost them money, and they
- 54:30don't want to lose money. See, it's all about money and power with
- 54:34the state that text. I've come to realize that it's all about money and
- 54:37it's all about having them bads feel and they're doing it at the expense of
- 54:44our brown people. And the citizens of Texas need to wake up. They
- 54:51need to wake up. It's too many people being quiet. Couldn't be my
- 54:55loved one. Couldn't be my loved one. I'm sorry, couldn't be my
- 55:00loved one. And I know you don't have family down there in Texas because
- 55:05you said in the beginning that you was from Baltimore, Maryland, family in
- 55:08Maryland, so you don't have nobody to go knock on the doors and knock
- 55:15the doors down. But the citizens of Texas should have said, enough is
- 55:19enough. This is happening right there in there in their state right see.
- 55:24A lot of us we don't open our mouths because it's not happening to us.
- 55:29But Lord forbid that it happens to you because you're not exempt. And
- 55:36these people are showing you over in the oil over that you could be the
- 55:38next one. If you go through the big state of Texas, you could
- 55:42be the next one. So be careful going to Texas. Be careful going
- 55:50to Texas well. I definitely I want to thank you for coming on and
- 55:57sharing with us and being transparent, because I know it's not easy. You
- 56:01know I'm not giving up though, you know I'm still you know, I'm
- 56:05still fighting, I'm still writing the law is trying to get help, try
- 56:08to get the system. So have you contacted the Innocence Project or the Innocent
- 56:15Project don't take take on situations like yours. I know somebody said that they
- 56:21only want DNA stuff that they can be proven by DNA and stuff like that.
- 56:25Well, I got all my paperwork right to show everything that I talked
- 56:29to you about, and I did send it to the Innocence Project in Houston,
- 56:32the University of Houston network Innocent Project, and uh, they sent me
- 56:37to your applications. I still their applications out and send it to m and
- 56:40they told me that they was doing an investigation. So so far it's been
- 56:44it's been three and a half months. They had my paperwork and even doing
- 56:47investigation. So I'm just waiting to see what they gonna find. The investigation
- 56:52for all my paperwork is is legit and paperwork is from them from the state
- 57:00showing everything I mean to show them where that if I do get back in
- 57:04court, they would have to release me with Tom sir and and the judge,
- 57:07the judge that that whoever passed this down they need to walk over to
- 57:13somebody. They can walk over to somebody office. Whoever have the power to
- 57:16say, give this man an F one immediate release. Whoever got that power,
- 57:22that is the person that needs that, that that need to be on
- 57:25their desk. Child Court judge had the power to bring me back the court
- 57:30street all this out. You got the power to do it. They only
- 57:34had to go to the quarter point of pills or tild court judge because they
- 57:38got the power to bring me back. Well, some people need to be
- 57:43writing that judge. They need to be flooding that judge mailbox, pill box
- 57:49or whatever kind of box they use. They need to be flood flooding it.
- 57:52Somebody need to be knocking knocking on his door and sit down at his
- 57:55desk. But I know you don't have nobody here hit down there in the
- 58:01state of Texas to do that. So that's sad. No, definitely don't
- 58:08want you to give up. Definitely do not And and and and I'm just
- 58:15see what you seen the project want you They got everything doing investigation. I
- 58:24think that the longer it takes it better because that means hopefully to be doing
- 58:29an investigation of proper investigation. Because you could brought me back if I didn't
- 58:34have anything luck so far. But hopefully they'll do the right thing and then
- 58:39the judge will do the right thing and you will be free. And then
- 58:44maybe this will get this, this will make them take a closer look at
- 58:47what they're doing, and maybe it'll open up the door for some more people.
- 58:52But I thank you for coming on and sharing. I tell you I'm
- 58:54not gonna stop. I'm gonna continue to keep sharing and keep allowing you guys
- 59:00to come on and share your story and to bring more awareness to it and
- 59:05and toil you all that have been wrongfully and overly incarcerated a home because this
- 59:09is this, this is this is terrible because people are losing they're losing family
- 59:15members, they they're losing valuable years of their lives, and those are things
- 59:23that cannot be taken back. There's no amount of money in this world that
- 59:29can replace the years that you've lost, the memories that you have lost,
- 59:36memories that you could have created, and the different things that have taken place.
- 59:43That's what their first few years sent it to me. You know,
- 59:45when I came home, I lost my apartment, I lost my job,
- 59:49so I ended up working at labor homes and sting at hotels every night.
- 59:52I mean, so that something I just do. Wow, But I definitely
- 1:00:04want you to stay encouraged and know that you are you are on our prayer
- 1:00:07list. We would definitely be praying for you. I want to thank you
- 1:00:09for stopping by and sharing with us on tonight. You have a great evening
- 1:00:15and I'm definitely gonna be sharing this out in our circle of influence. God
- 1:00:23bless you too, and thank you again. Thank you. Wow. Well,
- 1:00:31definitely I thank you guys for hanging out with me this hour. This
- 1:00:37is this is what I do when I am not doing stuff behind the scenes
- 1:00:45for the Crew podcast, when I'm not on the w b n N walking
- 1:00:50in Purpose with Angela, when I'm not on Monday Morning Motivation, when I'm
- 1:00:54not doing homework, y'all. This is what I'm doing. I'm listening to
- 1:00:59the these individual stories. I'm googling and trying to find out different different other
- 1:01:06cases that have similar things that maybe they can they can use this to And
- 1:01:13and I'm writing these different senators, writing these different representatives, writing these different
- 1:01:17congresspeople, y'all. This is what I do. It's sad, but I
- 1:01:27just can't somebody, somebody contacted me, They reached out to me, and
- 1:01:31I just felt obligated, y'all. It breaks my heart that these people are
- 1:01:37going through this. They're even women that are going through this. I have
- 1:01:40a young lady that's gonna come on and share. She was supposed to be
- 1:01:47on last night, but I don't know what's going on over at her facility,
- 1:01:54but hopefully I'll be able to get her own soon, y'all. It's
- 1:01:59just a lot. And then you talk about juveniles that have been locked up
- 1:02:02since they were thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen years old and then having
- 1:02:07to go to adult facilities and be treated like adults, y'all. It's sad.
- 1:02:13The state of Texas is sad. So those that believe in the power
- 1:02:17of prayer, please, in your private prayers please lift up the state of
- 1:02:22Texas and the TDCJ, the judicial system there, y'all, because they need
- 1:02:28much prayer. I want to thank you guys for tuning in tonight. I
- 1:02:31want to thank those over on tiktop that have chimed in and they have supported
- 1:02:38me, and definitely thank my family here on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
