- 0:25Speaker 2: if you don't recognize the name, and if you saw
- 0:28Speaker 2: the show, he's the one that was following me. Let's
- 0:31Speaker 2: let's say that following me out of.
- 0:37Speaker 3: He was following you, Pepper and you.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Basically he's like, you don't belong here, You're done, get
- 0:41Speaker 1: out of here.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Yep, exactly. So I'm really excited to talk to him.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Uh.
- 0:46Speaker 2: This is kind of the first time that I've had
- 0:48Speaker 2: interaction with any of the DS after the show, and.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I am a little bit nervous.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I mean, obviously, you know, you know, they're good people. Yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 1: I would imagine it would.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Be under ranking experience for you. How's it going.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It's good so Q. This is my co host for
- 1:12Speaker 2: our Almost Famous OG podcast. This is Bob Guinea. He
- 1:16Speaker 2: was actually on the Bachelorette with me. Uh, sir, when
- 1:20Speaker 2: I was the Bachelorette. Do you even know what the
- 1:22Speaker 2: bachelorette is?
- 1:23Speaker 5: By the way, I know that's really a good question
- 1:32Speaker 5: because I was going to say, yeah, then I was
- 1:34Speaker 5: the Bachelor after but you don't know the Bachelerette or
- 1:36Speaker 5: the Bachelor.
- 1:37Speaker 3: But it is kind of funny you had two.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I mean, you've had several people from the Bachelor franchise
- 1:42Speaker 1: on the show as you've been affiliated with it, just
- 1:46Speaker 1: in general.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Obviously, Trista's the toughest.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, Trista, Tristan the G.
- 1:57Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:57Speaker 3: She is right, She's a real G.
- 2:01Speaker 4: But no, you're you're you're totally right, do I do?
- 2:03Speaker 6: We We have had a lot of the uh, the Bachelor,
- 2:06Speaker 6: Bachelorettes and all that stuff on the show. So it's
- 2:09Speaker 6: been it's been. It's been good to see how y'all respond.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a that's a good that's a good word.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It's a lot.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I like those words. Okay, so welcome. I would
- 2:23Speaker 2: I would love to hear because they don't really do
- 2:26Speaker 2: enough of this. I feel like on the show. Your
- 2:29Speaker 2: background and how you became part of.
- 2:33Speaker 4: The show, well back twenty two years in the military.
- 2:37Speaker 6: I just retired in twenty twenty one, right as all
- 2:40Speaker 6: the cast and everyone knows I'm a former Navy seal.
- 2:42Speaker 4: So I did that most of my career.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Okay, I've deployed seven times in my career out of
- 2:50Speaker 6: twenty two years.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Great time. You know, got all my things into So
- 2:53Speaker 4: I'm I'm all good, right And from where my background,
- 2:59Speaker 4: I will say.
- 2:59Speaker 6: From where I come from. Originally, I'm originally from Washington,
- 3:02Speaker 6: d C. That's where my my home home status. But
- 3:06Speaker 6: I kind of I kind of reaped both. I'm from Washington,
- 3:09Speaker 6: d C. But I finished high school in North Carolina,
- 3:12Speaker 6: so everything. I joined the Navy in June ninety nine
- 3:16Speaker 6: from Charlotte, which.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Is where I'm at right now.
- 3:19Speaker 2: And you inst directly this is all coming up because
- 3:24Speaker 2: my son is actually considering applying. He kind of wants
- 3:28Speaker 2: to be a Navy seal que so I might be
- 3:30Speaker 2: calling you, so did you enlist? I know there's a
- 3:36Speaker 2: few different ways that you can become part of the
- 3:39Speaker 2: military in the United States. Did you enlist?
- 3:43Speaker 4: I did? I did. I came in I mean straight
- 3:47Speaker 4: row right when I was in the military.
- 3:48Speaker 6: So one of the reasons I came I joined the
- 3:50Speaker 6: military is because I had kids in high school. So
- 3:52Speaker 6: that's the whole of where I come from, right, you know,
- 3:56Speaker 6: I was my I didn't I didn't have my mom
- 3:58Speaker 6: growing up.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I was raised with my grandparents.
- 4:00Speaker 6: My mom was a drug ACDT Oh wow, she was
- 4:02Speaker 6: in and out of prison a lot.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So I never knew who my dad was.
- 4:06Speaker 6: So my grandmother took that responsibility and my aunts and uncles,
- 4:10Speaker 6: they all kind of played that role. Is raising me,
- 4:13Speaker 6: I guess you would say. So took me from DC
- 4:16Speaker 6: to North Carolina. Still have my issues again, had my
- 4:19Speaker 6: kids in high school as a teenage dad then, and
- 4:23Speaker 6: my grandmother was like, Okay, you're going into the military.
- 4:25Speaker 4: This is how it's going on.
- 4:26Speaker 6: You're going in the military so you can help take
- 4:28Speaker 6: care with kids and get out of this craziness.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:32Speaker 6: So it was a good idea, I think today in hindsight.
- 4:35Speaker 6: You know, she was very sick as well, diabetic ampuchief
- 4:38Speaker 6: from the knee.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Down write me down.
- 4:41Speaker 6: So she was the one who initially pushed me into
- 4:44Speaker 6: the military, which I had never wanted to do. I
- 4:47Speaker 6: was just not one of the things. I wanted to
- 4:49Speaker 6: go play football. I was a football star and all
- 4:51Speaker 6: that stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 4: But it worked.
- 4:54Speaker 6: Out you know, if I couldn't be a pro athlete
- 4:56Speaker 6: or a collegiate athlete, being in Navy Seal truly is
- 5:01Speaker 6: the next best thing. Now not really the next best thing,
- 5:03Speaker 6: it's really the thing because I have done so much
- 5:06Speaker 6: right I could be especially I mean I can be
- 5:10Speaker 6: a pro athlete or even a collegian athlete. But collegian athletes,
- 5:14Speaker 6: pro athletes, they couldn't do what Navy sills do, you
- 5:16Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. So it's one of those things
- 5:18Speaker 6: where I have respect for them. I have respect for
- 5:20Speaker 6: anybody that's a professional in any industry that they're doing right.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I have complete respect.
- 5:25Speaker 6: But when I look at what I've done and what
- 5:28Speaker 6: the Seal teams have done as a whole across the world,
- 5:30Speaker 6: you know, it takes the right person.
- 5:33Speaker 4: To be this, to do this.
- 5:36Speaker 6: You know, when I in my class, we want to
- 5:38Speaker 6: graduated fifteen men, but we had two hundred and seventy starts.
- 5:42Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying, Wow, this is the normal
- 5:45Speaker 6: of when people feel this is reality. It's hard, it's
- 5:51Speaker 6: a year long training.
- 5:52Speaker 4: They just as much.
- 5:53Speaker 6: As we're we gave it to you on the show,
- 5:56Speaker 6: Imagine what we get on in realistic life of the.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Training pipe I can't even imagine.
- 6:02Speaker 6: They don't they don't shake your hand until you graduate.
- 6:04Speaker 6: You know, you're not cool at all, and gradually and
- 6:07Speaker 6: then when you get to a series like you start
- 6:09Speaker 6: all over again.
- 6:10Speaker 4: So those are some of the things.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Is how I got involved in the Seal teams is
- 6:15Speaker 6: how it all started to me.
- 6:16Speaker 4: You know, to be honest with.
- 6:17Speaker 3: You, that's incredible. I love that.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But my father was a marine. I have incredible respect
- 6:23Speaker 1: for anyone who serves a country. And especially when Trista said,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you know that her son wants to be a Navy Seal,
- 6:29Speaker 1: I was going to pipe in and say, I think
- 6:31Speaker 1: every single guy in the world would tell you if.
- 6:34Speaker 3: They could do anything.
- 6:35Speaker 1: You know, in my mind, like I tell trist of
- 6:37Speaker 1: this all the time, I watch a movie and I
- 6:40Speaker 1: walk away going, I need to get I think I
- 6:42Speaker 1: can still do it. I think, you know, there's first
- 6:44Speaker 1: of all, there's no way, there's no way I could do.
- 6:46Speaker 1: But yeah, just a tremendous amount of respect and admiration
- 6:49Speaker 1: and appreciation for what you've done with your career and
- 6:52Speaker 1: and and you know, for what the Navy Seal Teams
- 6:54Speaker 1: have done.
- 6:55Speaker 3: You know, for our country. I mean, it's a it's amazing.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Having someone on this show, like like like Trista, who
- 7:01Speaker 1: obviously you know is coming into this at a later
- 7:05Speaker 1: stage in.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Her preparation for seal them.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I just got see that's why I couldn't make it on.
- 7:19Speaker 3: The show or an ABC.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I just started sweating. So when you have someone like
- 7:23Speaker 1: Trista on there, and people like like Stephen Baldwin and
- 7:26Speaker 1: everyone that's on the show, even Cam Newton, I mean,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm sure you you see things in them that you
- 7:31Speaker 1: know they're they're they have the fortitude, and they have
- 7:34Speaker 1: the courage, they want to be there, and they're putting
- 7:35Speaker 1: themselves in this situation.
- 7:37Speaker 3: But I mean, what was someone.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Like, for example, like for Trista, when you would kind
- 7:41Speaker 1: of like size her up and you'd see she has
- 7:44Speaker 1: tenacity and she has grit, But what was her what
- 7:47Speaker 1: was her shortcoming if there was one that would have
- 7:51Speaker 1: possibly stopped her, one that could have possibly stopped her
- 7:54Speaker 1: from becoming a seal?
- 7:57Speaker 4: How is that?
- 8:00Speaker 2: I love you, Bob.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I'll just there you go.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Hey, you pushed that on to me now, so you
- 8:05Speaker 4: want me to be bad?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yes, sir, Yes, sir, I'll answer it, I'll be the
- 8:11Speaker 2: bad guy.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Okay, I like I like it, Thanks a lot, thanks
- 8:18Speaker 4: a lot.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Yeah, Oh my gosh, oh man.
- 8:26Speaker 4: So, uh all right, how do I tiptoe into this this?
- 8:30Speaker 3: You know what? Let me.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I'll help a little bit. So I have to tell
- 8:32Speaker 2: a funny story. And I don't know if you remember this, Q,
- 8:35Speaker 2: so hopefully you do. But I walked up to uh
- 8:41Speaker 2: where we were going to jump off the bridge, and
- 8:43Speaker 2: I got to the top, like, you know, you climb
- 8:46Speaker 2: up this really steep hill by yourself. You know, Golden's
- 8:50Speaker 2: not there to carry my pack. I didn't have my pack,
- 8:53Speaker 2: but but you know, no one's there to help me.
- 8:56Speaker 2: So I climb up this hill and I get to
- 8:58Speaker 2: the top and Q is way there, And do you
- 9:02Speaker 2: remember what you said to me? And what I said back?
- 9:04Speaker 4: I don't really remember you a breaka.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Oh my god, you're gonna laugh. Hopefully you're gonna giggle.
- 9:09Speaker 2: So you you were like, why are you Why are
- 9:13Speaker 2: you so out of breath? What took you so long?
- 9:14Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm fifty one years old, I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: out of breath, I'm out of shape, and I have asthma,
- 9:21Speaker 2: And you were like yep, and you walked away. Okay, yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 2: it sounds about right.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You definitely gave me everything I needed to hear.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I was like, oh yeah, I got nothing.
- 9:35Speaker 6: I got nothing on that I can.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Perfect. I was like, well, if I'm being honest, like
- 9:42Speaker 2: I'm totally out of shape and I'm fifty one. You know,
- 9:45Speaker 2: it was really it was a funny moment and a
- 9:48Speaker 2: moment that I feel like, hopefully, you know, at least
- 9:52Speaker 2: to yourself, you're finding like a little humor because I
- 9:56Speaker 2: can't even imagine. But let's go back to Bob's question,
- 9:58Speaker 2: So what do you think is my weakness?
- 10:06Speaker 6: All right, all right for all the people watching this
- 10:09Speaker 6: and don't yeah, at the end.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Of this, no, no, I mean I'll probably you know, say, yep,
- 10:18Speaker 2: he's He's totally right. But I am curious to see,
- 10:22Speaker 2: like what you what you thought of it, like as
- 10:26Speaker 2: someone who sees all these celebrities come through it. And
- 10:30Speaker 2: you know, I'm small, I'm older, you know, I don't
- 10:33Speaker 2: I'm not a professional athlete, I'm not an Olympic star.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You know, I'm sure you have certain judgments that you
- 10:42Speaker 2: have to make because you guys are judging us essentially.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So yeah, i'd love to know like what I can
- 10:51Speaker 2: work on just from my own personal perspective, what I
- 10:56Speaker 2: could utilize from your experience, and how I can myself.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Well, I will initially say, like for the for the
- 11:04Speaker 6: general right, for everyone who comes on the show, Yeah, one,
- 11:09Speaker 6: typically everyone is not physically in condition in some kind
- 11:13Speaker 6: of way. Like me, I, even at forty four years old,
- 11:16Speaker 6: I hold my conditioning to the utmost highest standard for me, right,
- 11:19Speaker 6: I want to a one hundred year old man is
- 11:22Speaker 6: still a beast in this world, and I will always
- 11:26Speaker 6: carry and be that way. And I think for the
- 11:29Speaker 6: broad spectrum of it all, everyone comes in not really
- 11:32Speaker 6: physically ready for that, and then there's others who are
- 11:34Speaker 6: even not even close to that, they're even worse. And
- 11:37Speaker 6: then mentally, people are assuming the celebrities that come on
- 11:40Speaker 6: the show, assuming that.
- 11:42Speaker 4: There will be a little bit of a lull where you.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Get to go and relax and you can kind of
- 11:46Speaker 6: you know, have a little chill time where you know,
- 11:49Speaker 6: maybe a hotel, maybe your cell phone back, you get
- 11:51Speaker 6: to kind of relax. Yeah, all we strip all that
- 11:54Speaker 6: away and let all that gum. We treat you like
- 11:58Speaker 6: you are really on a deployment, because we want youry
- 12:00Speaker 6: to get a full understanding of what we had to
- 12:02Speaker 6: go through for the years of seven eight nine months.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Depending on if you was a seal, you're gone for
- 12:07Speaker 6: seven eight If you're a marine, you could be gone
- 12:09Speaker 6: for an entire year and say yes, SBS the same thing.
- 12:12Speaker 6: So's we want people to understand that, you know, you're
- 12:16Speaker 6: isolated in this in these positions, and you're mentally you
- 12:19Speaker 6: have to be in the game, you have to be
- 12:21Speaker 6: all in on what you're doing. And I think a
- 12:23Speaker 6: lot of the celebrities come in not really understanding that's
- 12:26Speaker 6: how it's going to be because as you know now
- 12:30Speaker 6: that's this reality show was not like any other reality
- 12:32Speaker 6: show ever, and we've really, you know, kicked the crap
- 12:36Speaker 6: out of you. So I would say for you personally
- 12:38Speaker 6: physic the physical aspect of it was huge for you, right,
- 12:42Speaker 6: and then you win it. Right, you have asthma, you
- 12:45Speaker 6: have all those things, your age and all that stuff.
- 12:47Speaker 6: But it's something that because you're a family person, right,
- 12:49Speaker 6: it's not something that you're really common to or normal
- 12:52Speaker 6: to in your normal daily life, your routine because you're
- 12:55Speaker 6: a mom or a wife do all these different things.
- 12:57Speaker 6: So you're going to come into with that weakness, right,
- 13:01Speaker 6: and then the mental as of it is another thing. Uh,
- 13:05Speaker 6: there's a lot of fear in you on this thing.
- 13:07Speaker 6: So you know, I can't remember you.
- 13:13Speaker 1: First of all, you're answering this brilliantly. I mean, I'm
- 13:17Speaker 1: just blown away.
- 13:18Speaker 3: I'm like, God, God, he's doing great.
- 13:23Speaker 4: I've seen a lot.
- 13:23Speaker 6: And I was also instructed before I got out the navy,
- 13:27Speaker 6: you know, so I kind of I got the chance
- 13:28Speaker 6: to see what it's like on the instructor's side for
- 13:31Speaker 6: kids who's trying to come in and beat me like
- 13:33Speaker 6: your son. Trust I got to see now because at
- 13:36Speaker 6: first I wasn't always in the instructor role, so I
- 13:38Speaker 6: didn't get the chance to look at her from the
- 13:39Speaker 6: other side.
- 13:40Speaker 4: But when I did, it.
- 13:41Speaker 6: Was like whoa, whoa, Is that what I look like
- 13:45Speaker 6: when I went through.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Crying and throwing up? And like then it's so funny side,
- 13:57Speaker 4: But generally that's what it is.
- 13:58Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:58Speaker 6: The mindset of the thing is you're going through hell
- 14:01Speaker 6: the entire time, right, it's the worst thing.
- 14:04Speaker 4: It's a lot of fears that you've never done this before.
- 14:07Speaker 6: You got people yelling at you, you know, and and
- 14:11Speaker 6: if you're not mentally prepared for the especially us the
- 14:13Speaker 6: verbal abuse that we're giving you, right, and it's.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Ye own verbal abuse.
- 14:18Speaker 6: There's a purpose behind it because we're meant to break
- 14:20Speaker 6: you down and see if you can still push through
- 14:22Speaker 6: all that, if you can not hear it, if you
- 14:24Speaker 6: can shut it out, and still even when you fail
- 14:26Speaker 6: a task, can you tell yourself to pick yourself up.
- 14:30Speaker 4: It's all right to keep moving on, even though I'm
- 14:32Speaker 4: in your.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Ass the entire time and telling you you're not, telling
- 14:35Speaker 6: you you're not this is not for you, telling you
- 14:37Speaker 6: you're weak, telling you you're a failure to the rest
- 14:40Speaker 6: of the team, the rest of your your classmates and whoever,
- 14:43Speaker 6: and see how you can manage that. You know, all
- 14:45Speaker 6: that hell, And I'm like, okay, that's the whole. So
- 14:49Speaker 6: I think a lot of that stuff. Everyone that comes
- 14:51Speaker 6: on the show, they have they struggle with all those
- 14:53Speaker 6: aspects of what I just said.
- 14:55Speaker 4: So you have you have your struggles with that as well.
- 14:57Speaker 4: And the physical part.
- 14:58Speaker 6: I think you've probably been a little bit more physical condition,
- 15:01Speaker 6: you would have been able to probably push through some
- 15:04Speaker 6: more of the things that we were giving you.
- 15:06Speaker 4: That's what I was saying.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, tot and I'll tell you kind of a background.
- 15:13Speaker 2: They approached me I think about three months before, and
- 15:17Speaker 2: I was I was basically signed up. I was going
- 15:19Speaker 2: through the like medical clearance, and they weren't going to
- 15:22Speaker 2: clear me medically because I have had a I had
- 15:26Speaker 2: back surgery, I had a lumbar fusion, and at one
- 15:30Speaker 2: point the doctor was like, well, I just don't know
- 15:33Speaker 2: if you could handle being pushed off a boat, and
- 15:36Speaker 2: I was like, being pushed off a boat, Holy crap.
- 15:39Speaker 2: So basically I had to get my doctors involved and
- 15:44Speaker 2: ended up obviously getting cleared. But during that time, I'm
- 15:47Speaker 2: super superstitious, and I didn't work out when I was waiting,
- 15:51Speaker 2: so I lost like at least a month of training
- 15:55Speaker 2: that would really have helped.
- 16:01Speaker 6: Three months tholand months would have definitely put you in
- 16:04Speaker 6: a better bracket physically to handle a lot of the
- 16:07Speaker 6: stuff that we was doing with Especially when you start
- 16:09Speaker 6: running with fact all that stuff, it weighs on you,
- 16:12Speaker 6: like your lower back starts to hurt and be painful,
- 16:15Speaker 6: so uncomfortable your neck from this. People don't realize how
- 16:20Speaker 6: miserable you completely are when you add weight to your
- 16:23Speaker 6: body and you're always wearing this weight and you're always
- 16:25Speaker 6: doing this certain thing and you're always running here and
- 16:27Speaker 6: you can give They don't realize the they don't realize it.
- 16:32Speaker 6: But it's good. It's good to see what, yeah, you.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Do because your only respect too, I'm sure trust that.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I mean not that, I mean, I know you have
- 16:53Speaker 1: friends who have trained in their Navy seals and things
- 16:55Speaker 1: that are retired now as well. I will say this,
- 16:58Speaker 1: you know, watching the show, I mean I got literally
- 17:01Speaker 1: emotional watching the show because you know, I know a
- 17:04Speaker 1: lot of the people that were on this season and
- 17:06Speaker 1: I was just watching how you guys are. I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 1: but I also feel like, you know, you guys have
- 17:12Speaker 1: been there and done it, and you clearly still keep
- 17:14Speaker 1: yourself in spectacular condition.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Everyone looked like they're in such great shape.
- 17:18Speaker 1: But it's funny, you know when you went into the
- 17:19Speaker 1: I think it's called the mirror room, and you kind
- 17:22Speaker 1: of would be you know, and it was like the
- 17:24Speaker 1: one time on the show where we'd see you guys
- 17:27Speaker 1: actually you know, as the DS is sort of not
- 17:30Speaker 1: ever letting the guard down, because that was one thing
- 17:32Speaker 1: Denise Richard's commented on too. She had said she kind
- 17:34Speaker 1: of had thought, you know, we'll go to a lounge
- 17:36Speaker 1: or something. She's like, where's the lounge? You know, where's
- 17:38Speaker 1: craft services. But you'd kind of get to know these people,
- 17:42Speaker 1: which I thought, Man, you guys aren't just great at
- 17:45Speaker 1: what you've trained your whole life to do. You're really
- 17:49Speaker 1: good at getting us as a viewer to like, you know,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you kind of got to the heart and soul of
- 17:55Speaker 1: what made these people give this thing a shot in
- 17:58Speaker 1: the first place, and why they're there, why they're not
- 18:00Speaker 1: just in their cushy lifestyles, and and I was just
- 18:03Speaker 1: watching it thinking, man, they've got to be feeling for this.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Person, you know. But so I have to ask, like,
- 18:09Speaker 3: you know, in your role, were there ever.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Moments where you were like, oh man, we got to
- 18:14Speaker 1: back off of this person, or was it because of
- 18:16Speaker 1: your training, because you know what you've gone through, they're like, okay,
- 18:18Speaker 1: we got to step it up on this person in
- 18:20Speaker 1: that moment where we're all at home going hump the brakes,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, give her, give her a minute. Was there
- 18:24Speaker 1: ever like that moment where where you, guys, it's not
- 18:27Speaker 1: like you smell blood in the water, but you see
- 18:29Speaker 1: this person and you're like, okay, we got to push
- 18:31Speaker 1: harder now or where are you in those moments?
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yes or no?
- 18:35Speaker 6: To anskwer that out of the bet. Yeah, you'll see
- 18:37Speaker 6: that and you want to push. And you'll see that
- 18:38Speaker 6: and you're like, oh, let me laying up a little
- 18:40Speaker 6: bit on this person. We want to we want to
- 18:44Speaker 6: challenge you period, hands down. We want to give you
- 18:46Speaker 6: full bore challenge. One thousand percent. What is like one
- 18:49Speaker 6: hundred percent right? One hundred percent of the time. Well,
- 18:52Speaker 6: you'll you'll get to a point where you see someone say,
- 18:55Speaker 6: like a like a Denise right herself when on the
- 18:59Speaker 6: scene saw me pulling her number, Yeah about her back
- 19:04Speaker 6: right and this and if she sees this, Denise, I
- 19:06Speaker 6: have nothing more respect for you.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Girl.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Don't ever know everything. This is personal?
- 19:11Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, sometimes celebrities will take some of that stuff personal.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I mean, I get it, we took it.
- 19:16Speaker 6: I didn't like my instructors when I went through I
- 19:18Speaker 6: hated them, But when we graduated.
- 19:20Speaker 4: I understood why.
- 19:23Speaker 6: They did that to me, why they was in my faith,
- 19:26Speaker 6: why they made me feel so like I shouldn't be there.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I understood it at the end.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it was and all that stuff, but it was
- 19:34Speaker 6: so funny and I still even when I would meet them,
- 19:36Speaker 6: even when I was in a stale team, I still
- 19:37Speaker 6: looked at them as the instructor. I will still call
- 19:39Speaker 6: them almost instructor, but the same level. But I will
- 19:42Speaker 6: still want to say that because they gave me so much. Yeah,
- 19:47Speaker 6: so when I have those things go on show, you know,
- 19:51Speaker 6: like with Denise for example, that was part of me
- 19:54Speaker 6: that I wanted to push and force her back in
- 19:55Speaker 6: because I felt she could do more, but she was willing.
- 19:58Speaker 2: To just yeah it go.
- 20:00Speaker 6: But I'm like, you can do more, but you're giving
- 20:05Speaker 6: me something here that I can't. I can't continue with
- 20:07Speaker 6: right because if I allow you to complain about the
- 20:13Speaker 6: back of your back is sore, because that's really what
- 20:14Speaker 6: it was.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Back is sowred.
- 20:15Speaker 6: It's not that you hurt. You're not about to break
- 20:17Speaker 6: your back. Everyone's back for everyone's back is tired, everyone's
- 20:20Speaker 6: needs hurting, all that stuff. But allow you to keep
- 20:24Speaker 6: doing this and then put you back in. Then the
- 20:28Speaker 6: other what the other celebrity is gonna think, Okay, maybe
- 20:31Speaker 6: I can just can I see the medic you know, my.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Kneehir a little bit? Can I get a little pause? No,
- 20:35Speaker 4: you don't get that.
- 20:36Speaker 6: In reality, we don't get off. You know, once you
- 20:38Speaker 6: started going to the medic and instructors looking at you,
- 20:40Speaker 6: they're writing your name down, they're gonna get you out
- 20:42Speaker 6: of here. For we don't need that, we don't need
- 20:44Speaker 6: somebody's trying to dodge what we're doing. We're not going
- 20:48Speaker 6: to kill you. We are going to extremely challenge you.
- 20:51Speaker 6: So it's the point where I was not going to
- 20:54Speaker 6: just let her go back in at that point. So
- 20:55Speaker 6: I was like, you know what, she's been out long enough.
- 20:58Speaker 6: You know, the girls and everyone else have been dealing
- 21:01Speaker 6: with everything that's going on with the surfer merchant.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Exercise man that one.
- 21:07Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, give her a chance. But I just couldn't
- 21:12Speaker 6: give her the extra chance again because it already happened.
- 21:14Speaker 6: I think in the pool in the beginning, I think.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, and I think she can yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I think something happened here. And I was like,
- 21:24Speaker 6: we can't keep doing this now. So and remember we
- 21:27Speaker 6: run the show. It's that producers and all that stuff.
- 21:30Speaker 6: So we create the tactics and all the obstacles we
- 21:34Speaker 6: create that.
- 21:34Speaker 4: We don't want the celebrities thinking they can go and.
- 21:36Speaker 6: Talk to you know, Paul's time out. Can I go
- 21:39Speaker 6: and talk to whoever over here go with us.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's if I may interrupt that.
- 21:45Speaker 1: That's what I think makes the show so different is
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know, everybody kind of kind of like what Denisa said,
- 21:51Speaker 1: And I mean, you know, I think everyone would probably
- 21:54Speaker 1: go into it thinking, oh, you know, if we've done
- 21:55Speaker 1: one of these shows in the past, we can kind
- 21:58Speaker 1: of pull aside excuse me, you know, and you're by
- 22:00Speaker 1: yourself time, right, and you know they know what they're
- 22:02Speaker 1: doing when they do that, and especially when everyone else
- 22:05Speaker 1: is all linked together and basically being you know, the
- 22:08Speaker 1: experience of drowning essentially, and it's like, and she's up
- 22:11Speaker 1: there having a little chat. You know, I get it.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I think you're right. I'd be I'd be bitter if
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'm still down there just swallowing gallons of seawater.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Get here, So I totally get that.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Yeah, right, Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 4: And it's terrible.
- 22:24Speaker 6: We went through that, and I'm telling you that, and
- 22:27Speaker 6: we go through what is even the surface a little worse.
- 22:29Speaker 6: You know, you got some waves coming in, so now
- 22:31Speaker 6: it was like smashing you down on your face, and
- 22:33Speaker 6: it's even harder because you truly feel like you can't breathe.
- 22:36Speaker 6: You're uncomfortable mouth. You can't be your eyes the sand
- 22:39Speaker 6: and saw it's like lingering here.
- 22:41Speaker 4: So you get up. When I have you set up,
- 22:42Speaker 4: you just still can't do it. You just Tristan miserable, right,
- 22:52Speaker 4: you know.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Actually I'll let you explain how you felt going through
- 22:55Speaker 6: that piece of it.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Oh my, well, okay. So what people don't is, and obviously,
- 23:04Speaker 2: being from reality television, I know that so much ends
- 23:07Speaker 2: up on the cutting room floor, like there's just not
- 23:10Speaker 2: enough time to show everybody everything, and there's sixteen different people,
- 23:13Speaker 2: so you want to show like you know, everyone's stories
- 23:17Speaker 2: and like the whole process. So what people did not
- 23:21Speaker 2: see is we got down to the beach and it
- 23:23Speaker 2: looks like we immediately went into the immersion the linked
- 23:28Speaker 2: arms activity, but that's not true. We were we were
- 23:32Speaker 2: doing sprints with our boots on on the on sand,
- 23:38Speaker 2: you know, which is really hard to do if you've
- 23:41Speaker 2: never gone running in the sand. It's not an excuse,
- 23:43Speaker 2: it's just really hard. So we're doing sprints and then
- 23:47Speaker 2: I think the next thing was we had to grab
- 23:49Speaker 2: the like giant logs and the sand bags and take
- 23:53Speaker 2: them to the beach, and so we were doing that
- 23:56Speaker 2: like back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.
- 23:58Speaker 2: And those laws how much did those logs weigh?
- 24:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we kind of get this.
- 24:05Speaker 6: We kind of tried to get what we use in
- 24:08Speaker 6: bud so for people on this bus that's for basic
- 24:11Speaker 6: underwater demolition sealed training. Those laws can weigh in between
- 24:15Speaker 6: twenty two fifty to three hundred and three ten somewhere
- 24:17Speaker 6: right in there. It just appends and you got it.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I am so blown away by that, really, holy crap,
- 24:24Speaker 2: no kidding. I had a hard time so so. And
- 24:28Speaker 2: then the sandbags, how much do those weigh or did
- 24:31Speaker 2: those weigh on the beach?
- 24:32Speaker 6: Yeah, we just kind of put in a bunch of
- 24:34Speaker 6: sand and those maybe gotten up to like fifty pounds
- 24:36Speaker 6: something like that.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Okay, Well the hence for the reason why I could
- 24:40Speaker 2: not lift it over my head. I was literally like
- 24:42Speaker 2: I can't.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I know you want me to, but I can't.
- 24:47Speaker 1: So you're just as dry weight is just north of
- 24:50Speaker 1: fifty pounds on a normal day anywhere her full body weight,
- 24:53Speaker 1: you know.
- 24:57Speaker 4: I remember actually I remember her oh holding it overhead.
- 25:01Speaker 1: That was a good Yeah, I remember the sand was poor.
- 25:03Speaker 2: I could not And I will say like thanks to
- 25:08Speaker 2: all the ds at that moment, I remember locking eyes
- 25:12Speaker 2: with I think Foxy and Billy because I literally couldn't
- 25:16Speaker 2: push it up. It was sitting on my head and
- 25:19Speaker 2: at least both of them. I'm sure you saw me too,
- 25:22Speaker 2: but they like just looked past me. They were like,
- 25:25Speaker 2: get it above your head, and I'm like, I can't,
- 25:29Speaker 2: and they just looked past me. Thank God, and gave
- 25:32Speaker 2: me some grace in that moment. But I will say,
- 25:35Speaker 2: so you don't see you know half of what we
- 25:39Speaker 2: did on the beach, and I was exhausted. I will say, Q.
- 25:46Speaker 2: My biggest fear going into this well, one of them
- 25:50Speaker 2: was open water. I'm really fearful of open water. And
- 25:55Speaker 2: I kind of shocked myself because in the Beehive well,
- 26:00Speaker 2: first in the boat to helicopter jump, I wasn't even
- 26:04Speaker 2: thinking about the fact that we were going to be
- 26:06Speaker 2: in the water maybe at some point and then oh
- 26:11Speaker 2: and when we jumped from the boat, sorry, go back
- 26:13Speaker 2: to that, or we got pushed from the boat and
- 26:14Speaker 2: we had to swim. I was being weighed down by
- 26:17Speaker 2: my clothes and I'm normally an okay swimmer, but I
- 26:20Speaker 2: was not even thinking about my fear. Same thing at
- 26:23Speaker 2: the beehive, like I stayed, I was treading water. I
- 26:28Speaker 2: think I passed that one. I think. But I literally
- 26:31Speaker 2: went to the side like seconds before you guys called like,
- 26:35Speaker 2: everyone go to the side. So I was proud of
- 26:37Speaker 2: myself in that moment. And then the beach, I really
- 26:42Speaker 2: was not thinking about how cold I was. I wasn't
- 26:44Speaker 2: thinking about like the fact that we were drowning and
- 26:47Speaker 2: you're going to laugh at this little part. So during
- 26:49Speaker 2: the surfer version, when we're linked up, you guys said,
- 26:52Speaker 2: you know, put your legs back and you know, rock whatever,
- 26:56Speaker 2: rock whatever. I don't know what your exact instructions were,
- 26:58Speaker 2: but I got confused. I don't know if anyone saw me.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I haven't even said this to anyone yet, but I
- 27:06Speaker 2: did a full on like somersault on my back like
- 27:10Speaker 2: a back roll.
- 27:12Speaker 4: I think I did see me. I think I did.
- 27:18Speaker 4: I think I do. Recall that happening.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I literally was like.
- 27:22Speaker 2: What are they talking about? So I just went I
- 27:25Speaker 2: rolled on backwards and then I had to reconnect.
- 27:29Speaker 4: You broke the link, you broke the chain, and I
- 27:34Speaker 4: was like, oh, yeah, breaking my chain?
- 27:36Speaker 2: I did I did, I did it?
- 27:38Speaker 3: Yep, I did it.
- 27:49Speaker 2: So anyway, Yes, it was. It's so much harder than
- 27:53Speaker 2: people think. Sorry, Ryan's waving at me, so much harder
- 27:58Speaker 2: than people think because you don't see like half even
- 28:02Speaker 2: like three quarters of what we do. So it was
- 28:05Speaker 2: and it's intimidating. You know, you guys are intimidating. And
- 28:09Speaker 2: I know you're supposed to be. You're supposed to be
- 28:12Speaker 2: breaking us down to make us better, and and I
- 28:17Speaker 2: totally get that. At one point, also at the end
- 28:21Speaker 2: of the exercise, I stopped Rudy because I was about
- 28:24Speaker 2: to pass out. Like, I was like, I am really dizzy.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I feel like I'm going to faint. And he was like, okay,
- 28:30Speaker 2: do you want to give me your arm band? Same
- 28:32Speaker 2: situation like with you and Denise, and and I was like, no,
- 28:37Speaker 2: I don't want to leave yet, and he was like, well,
- 28:41Speaker 2: you can't go see a medic, so it's either give
- 28:43Speaker 2: me your arm band or you keep going. And I'm like, okay, fine,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I'll keep going. And then yeah, yeah, finished.
- 28:49Speaker 6: Before you finished, just because you made that decision, right,
- 28:52Speaker 6: you made that conscious decision. That is what we that's
- 28:55Speaker 6: what we want, we want, we're looking for, right, you know,
- 28:58Speaker 6: With all respect to her, she couldn't make that decision
- 29:02Speaker 6: right in the heat of it. Yeah, rest in that chaos,
- 29:06Speaker 6: she was thinking about, you know, I just need this break. Well,
- 29:08Speaker 6: guess what, if you finish, you'll get it. You'll get
- 29:11Speaker 6: a chance to go see medic late, either at the
- 29:13Speaker 6: end of the night or morning. We're not going to
- 29:15Speaker 6: kill you and your back is going to break. So
- 29:16Speaker 6: when you said that to Rudy, you made a conscious
- 29:19Speaker 6: decision to go further, right, to push further, really dig
- 29:23Speaker 6: deeper of who you are in your true character, right
- 29:26Speaker 6: and see who you really are. And you show that
- 29:28Speaker 6: with that, And then I got on you as we
- 29:30Speaker 6: kept going. But that was what we're talking about. That's
- 29:33Speaker 6: what people in general lose. They don't understand you do
- 29:36Speaker 6: have the forty two to keep going. You do have
- 29:39Speaker 6: your own power to keep going. People lose that idea
- 29:42Speaker 6: and they don't realize they can go, they can push
- 29:44Speaker 6: themselves further.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Than what their initials.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yea, yeah, I love that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Well, you you get like caught up in the fear
- 29:53Speaker 2: and the pain and the like mental you know, the
- 29:57Speaker 2: devil on your shoulder, like I said in the in
- 29:59Speaker 2: the trailer, like you listen to that devil A whole
- 30:02Speaker 2: lot easier when you're in pain and you're super scared
- 30:06Speaker 2: and you're getting yelled at, and you're tired, and you're
- 30:08Speaker 2: exhausted and you're sick and you know all of these things.
- 30:11Speaker 2: So yeah, but you know, obviously, mind over matter it
- 30:16Speaker 2: is a thing. It's a thing, a thing.
- 30:20Speaker 4: You know. Most people don't know.
- 30:22Speaker 6: When I went through Hell Week, it put me in
- 30:24Speaker 6: the hospital because I was really yeah, well, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 6: hell We goes from Sunday night to Friday morning. So
- 30:33Speaker 6: that's when Hell We starts Sunday Friday morning, and you
- 30:36Speaker 6: only get roughly three or four hours of sleep if
- 30:39Speaker 6: I can recall throughout the entire week, wo Hire week,
- 30:43Speaker 6: and that first nap it's like a two hour nap
- 30:46Speaker 6: you get on Tuesday, right, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the
- 30:49Speaker 6: next one you get on Wednesay, Tuesday, Wednesday, and honestly,
- 30:54Speaker 6: you don't get to sleep. You can't sleep.
- 30:55Speaker 1: One.
- 30:56Speaker 6: If you're in a tent ten that's outside, it's still
- 30:59Speaker 6: doing the middle of working day. So you hear people
- 31:01Speaker 6: walking around going to work, you hear you know, cars
- 31:03Speaker 6: driving by you.
- 31:05Speaker 4: You're not sleeping.
- 31:07Speaker 6: You're in your wealth, right, You're in your wedd uniform
- 31:10Speaker 6: and you want to cut the cot is not comfortable
- 31:12Speaker 6: right now, dead heat of the day, so you're not
- 31:15Speaker 6: sleeping for this tour. You're resting, but your body is
- 31:18Speaker 6: like trying to heal, so you're shaking. Your body is
- 31:20Speaker 6: just constantly shaking its form of than the state of
- 31:22Speaker 6: healing you can't control. So on Thursday we did medical checks.
- 31:28Speaker 6: On Thursday, we do medical checks where they got to
- 31:30Speaker 6: make sure you know, nothing's going to happen to you, right,
- 31:33Speaker 6: because there's a point of the training where it can
- 31:37Speaker 6: become a hazard. Now there there is a point to
- 31:41Speaker 6: that though it has to be that intense. Our training
- 31:43Speaker 6: has to be this intense. Sometimes you'll see politicians or
- 31:47Speaker 6: try to make our program somewhat easier, our selection program.
- 31:50Speaker 6: We're like na and you'll see a lot of Navy
- 31:52Speaker 6: seals who have power step up and say, no, we're
- 31:54Speaker 6: not making our selection program lighter, just because y'all fear
- 31:58Speaker 6: that people get hurt. You know, all this high as
- 32:00Speaker 6: this happens, and every so often, you know, if someone
- 32:03Speaker 6: made me lose their life.
- 32:03Speaker 4: In our training pipeline.
- 32:05Speaker 6: But again, when you're thinking about terror, terrorism around the world,
- 32:11Speaker 6: and I'm keeping America Safe, I would select your program
- 32:14Speaker 6: has to be this intense and it has to be
- 32:16Speaker 6: that hard, right for this, you volunteer. You want to
- 32:20Speaker 6: be that man, You want to be that silent professional.
- 32:22Speaker 6: You want to have a stake in protecting people. You
- 32:26Speaker 6: got to know what you're dealing with. So yeah, on Thursday,
- 32:29Speaker 6: I'll have this pain. When the medical checks was checking
- 32:32Speaker 6: all of us out, We're in the underwear, shoulder to shoulder,
- 32:35Speaker 6: and they come by and just ask, hey, hey, you
- 32:37Speaker 6: haven't any kind of pain anywhere. What's going on with you?
- 32:39Speaker 6: Blah blah, And it got to me and I was like, well,
- 32:41Speaker 6: I got a little abdominal pain. Don't know what it is,
- 32:44Speaker 6: just a little abdominal pain. I think I need some
- 32:46Speaker 6: peptobismo or something just to help me get through. Because
- 32:49Speaker 6: we're in the afternoon on Thursday, and the training in
- 32:53Speaker 6: hell we end Saturday Friday morning, excuse me, around eight
- 32:56Speaker 6: nine ish, so I'm always there, right, I'm right to
- 33:00Speaker 6: finish line. I could see it, you know, Thursday afternoon,
- 33:02Speaker 6: I only know I got a few more hours to go. Well,
- 33:04Speaker 6: you know, a whole and the doctor has me sitting
- 33:08Speaker 6: on the ground. He's like, lay down, lay down. He
- 33:10Speaker 6: presses on my stomach and it was just terrible pain
- 33:13Speaker 6: just by him pushing on my stomach. And it was like,
- 33:16Speaker 6: you're going to the hospital. You're done, And I was like,
- 33:18Speaker 6: I was freaking out.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Oh whoa wait, I only got a couple more hours
- 33:23Speaker 4: and I'm done.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 33:24Speaker 4: I just need some medicine and I can keep moving.
- 33:27Speaker 4: I'm not totally now.
- 33:29Speaker 6: I mean, I'm freaking out with this guy now right
- 33:31Speaker 6: because I know I'm about to lose my dream, this
- 33:33Speaker 6: dream of being.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Is about to go.
- 33:37Speaker 6: My one time opportunity to have this chance to be
- 33:39Speaker 6: this thing, this this huge thing that I really wanted
- 33:42Speaker 6: to be, for my family, for my friends, to see
- 33:45Speaker 6: where I come from, to see that I can.
- 33:46Speaker 4: Achieve this thing, this big thing.
- 33:50Speaker 6: I couldn't, right, So I started to cry. Oh man,
- 33:54Speaker 6: And then I couldn't. There was no instructor staffs around
- 33:56Speaker 6: because I wanted to talk to them so I could
- 33:58Speaker 6: let him know I'm not I'm not quitting all this
- 34:00Speaker 6: thing and that, and uh, nobody was around, and I
- 34:03Speaker 6: got I got eventually put in the ambulance and sent
- 34:05Speaker 6: to the hospital and they said my kidneys were shutting down. Eventually,
- 34:10Speaker 6: Oh Wow, it was so my muscle was breaking down eternally,
- 34:13Speaker 6: poisoning myself. And yeah, in an aspect that couldn't flush
- 34:17Speaker 6: it out because you know, you're you're not eating that much.
- 34:21Speaker 6: Your body is as is at its extreme exertion, right,
- 34:24Speaker 6: you're doing all kinds with a boat in your head.
- 34:26Speaker 6: You're carrying those logs like crazy. Yeah, it was just intense.
- 34:30Speaker 6: So as my muscle breaking that was poisoning me. So
- 34:34Speaker 6: I get in the hospital.
- 34:35Speaker 4: I'm trying. Oh, it was the worst. It was the
- 34:37Speaker 4: worst stress. It was the worst.
- 34:39Speaker 2: So that is awful? Is it rab though? Did you
- 34:42Speaker 2: have that?
- 34:44Speaker 4: That's what it was?
- 34:45Speaker 2: My husband has had that. He yeah, it is not good,
- 34:52Speaker 2: not good. Like you can die, yes, yes, right, yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 2: you can die from it. That's really scary. Well I'm
- 34:58Speaker 2: glad you pushed through.
- 35:00Speaker 1: How did you get back into the mix?
- 35:03Speaker 4: Overnight?
- 35:04Speaker 6: And I finally got an instructor on a call on
- 35:07Speaker 6: the phone because I was not they got me hooked
- 35:09Speaker 6: up to this.
- 35:10Speaker 4: I mean, my fingers is all covered up. I mean
- 35:11Speaker 4: I was jacked up.
- 35:13Speaker 6: So I finally got somebody on the phone and it
- 35:14Speaker 6: was an instruct that I said, Hey, I did not quit.
- 35:16Speaker 6: I did not ring the bell, just to medic the hot.
- 35:18Speaker 6: The doctor threw me in the ambulance and said I
- 35:20Speaker 6: had to get there.
- 35:21Speaker 4: I'm done. He's like, is this quarrels.
- 35:22Speaker 6: I was like, quarrels, don't worry about it. Just heal
- 35:25Speaker 6: and we'll do with you, you know, just get back.
- 35:27Speaker 4: He said that. I kind of felt a little relief.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 35:31Speaker 6: Yeah, when I come back, if I come back soon enough,
- 35:33Speaker 6: I'll still be in the sting with my class.
- 35:35Speaker 1: So yeah, I passed.
- 35:37Speaker 6: I went to sleep, and I woke up the next
- 35:38Speaker 6: day and they came and picked me up. I'm in
- 35:41Speaker 6: a wheelchair, couldn't walk. My feet was so swollen. Every
- 35:44Speaker 6: my knees, every every joint in your body ankles, knees, elbows, wrists, face, neck, back,
- 35:51Speaker 6: completely huge, I mean huge.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, because your kidneys aren't functioning. It's like, yeah,
- 35:57Speaker 1: oh my gosh. Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 6: So I'm in a wheelchair rolling through the barracks. My
- 36:02Speaker 6: class is already secured from hell week.
- 36:04Speaker 4: So I'm rolling through and.
- 36:05Speaker 6: I'm trying to push through, and I'm looking in the
- 36:07Speaker 6: doors and they put all the mattresses off the bunk
- 36:09Speaker 6: beds on the floor because you got to stay there
- 36:11Speaker 6: one night, and they don't want you falling off your bed.
- 36:13Speaker 6: And I'm looking at my guys and they're just shaking,
- 36:15Speaker 6: just uncontrollably. Just they're going through what I kind of
- 36:19Speaker 6: went through the night before. So we stayed there, you know,
- 36:22Speaker 6: throughout the weekend, medical checks and all that stuff. And
- 36:24Speaker 6: then money comes and talk to the instructors and they said,
- 36:28Speaker 6: because of what I did up to that point and
- 36:30Speaker 6: how I carried myself on the point, they allowed me
- 36:33Speaker 6: to stay with my class.
- 36:34Speaker 3: So it's awesome.
- 36:35Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 36:36Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Yeah right there, Yeah.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Big grace, big grace.
- 36:44Speaker 6: And then I eventually waited as the honograd of my class,
- 36:47Speaker 6: you know, so I graduated as the honor man of
- 36:49Speaker 6: my class.
- 36:50Speaker 2: That's amazing, amazing, congratulations, that's awesome. What did you learn
- 36:57Speaker 2: in your time training that I feel like would be
- 37:05Speaker 2: your best advice for future people who want to do
- 37:08Speaker 2: the show, Like, how do you how do you get
- 37:12Speaker 2: how do you get through those struggles? How do you
- 37:14Speaker 2: get over those fears? How do you get past the
- 37:17Speaker 2: devil on your shoulder that's telling you you shouldn't be there?
- 37:20Speaker 4: Purpose? Purpose, Purpose is number one.
- 37:24Speaker 6: I found When I went through the program, I found
- 37:26Speaker 6: who who I am meant to be, and not only
- 37:30Speaker 6: the purpose of just being a seal, because being a
- 37:32Speaker 6: seal is one thing, but what does it really include, right,
- 37:36Speaker 6: helping others. That's how I summed it up. So my
- 37:39Speaker 6: purpose was really to give and be a servant to
- 37:41Speaker 6: other people, whether I'm going over in the Iraqis and
- 37:44Speaker 6: Syria to take out bad guys so families can walk
- 37:47Speaker 6: in their their markets and feel safe with their children
- 37:50Speaker 6: and not worry about something happening to them. So I
- 37:53Speaker 6: had my sense of purpose now and I knew now
- 37:56Speaker 6: that I can move forward and crush life because I
- 37:59Speaker 6: understood what I'm meant to do, which is serve other people.
- 38:02Speaker 4: And if I kept that advice service to others, whether.
- 38:05Speaker 6: I'm giving you my advice, well, I'm giving you mentorship,
- 38:07Speaker 6: where I'm giving you physical fitness programs and training, helping
- 38:10Speaker 6: you in some kind of way to better your life.
- 38:12Speaker 6: I felt, this is me who I meant to be,
- 38:15Speaker 6: And it was the hardest thing. Not the hardest thing,
- 38:17Speaker 6: It was the most inspiring thing for me to understanding
- 38:21Speaker 6: my purpose and doing that program, I understood who I'm
- 38:24Speaker 6: meant to be. And serve else is really what it
- 38:27Speaker 6: is and I and now that I'm out, you know,
- 38:29Speaker 6: I still do the same thing, you know, with my keynotes,
- 38:31Speaker 6: with my team building events, my leadership coaching events. I
- 38:34Speaker 6: do for corporations who want to know what it takes
- 38:37Speaker 6: to be a leader, a true leader. I understand, this
- 38:41Speaker 6: is this is me, this is who I'm supposed to be,
- 38:43Speaker 6: and even on the show for every bit of me,
- 38:46Speaker 6: so you can really have a true experience of what
- 38:48Speaker 6: it's like to go through in hopes of you'll see
- 38:51Speaker 6: that for yourself, how you can push through something and
- 38:54Speaker 6: maybe you'll find another purpose. Right Because a lot of
- 38:56Speaker 6: people come on the show, they are kind of past
- 38:58Speaker 6: their their MVP prime, like a Cam Newton, you know,
- 39:01Speaker 6: he's not the MVP and a NFL anymore, but he
- 39:04Speaker 6: may is looking for another step, another season of his life.
- 39:09Speaker 6: And we're hoping that when people find that, not saying
- 39:12Speaker 6: that he doesn't already have it, but we're helping.
- 39:14Speaker 2: With no totally. So I think that's why we all
- 39:18Speaker 2: I would say there's a little bit of that sprinkled
- 39:20Speaker 2: into every single person who was there. I feel like
- 39:24Speaker 2: for me for sure, that was like one hundred percent.
- 39:29Speaker 2: My kids are about to be into empty nesters. And
- 39:31Speaker 2: I don't know if I explained this in the mirror
- 39:33Speaker 2: room with you, but my kids are going to be
- 39:37Speaker 2: leaving me. And I've poured my life into my family
- 39:40Speaker 2: life and kind of being there, you know, the household
- 39:44Speaker 2: manager and their caretaker and everything else, and I kind
- 39:49Speaker 2: of wanted to get back to like who I am
- 39:51Speaker 2: and and find that purpose. So I feel like I
- 39:55Speaker 2: would I would honestly say I would guess one hundred
- 39:59Speaker 2: percent of us were there. That was a little bit
- 40:02Speaker 2: of our reason, you.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Know, Yeah, I would say as a oh, yeah, I
- 40:06Speaker 1: think that's got to be yes, yes, yes.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Right for every season. Yeah, yeah, I think everyone comes on.
- 40:12Speaker 6: That's that's the number one thing to trying to find
- 40:14Speaker 6: about who they are now since we're changing our season
- 40:17Speaker 6: of life, our profession, your your kids are growing up now,
- 40:21Speaker 6: they're about to leave the home.
- 40:22Speaker 4: You know, there's about to be a whole new life
- 40:25Speaker 4: of you, your new season.
- 40:26Speaker 6: So we're trying to hope that we get people to
- 40:29Speaker 6: understand that this is the goal and nature of the
- 40:31Speaker 6: beast of it. And some people will say they'll leave
- 40:33Speaker 6: early because they feel they achieved that at some point,
- 40:38Speaker 6: but we want to see people like just challenge themselves
- 40:41Speaker 6: and push themselves and just see, hey man, you got
- 40:43Speaker 6: more in you, You got more in you, You got
- 40:45Speaker 6: more in you.
- 40:46Speaker 3: You can go for everyone we've talked to.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Everyone we talked to has kind of echoed what Trista
- 40:52Speaker 1: said when she was first able to tell us where
- 40:53Speaker 1: she you know, what she was doing, because it was
- 40:57Speaker 1: it was a deadlock, secret man.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I was trying to get it out of her.
- 41:01Speaker 1: But it was really interesting to me because everybody has said,
- 41:05Speaker 1: this isn't a competition show. You're competing with yourself. It's
- 41:08Speaker 1: all what's going on in here? And I mean, you
- 41:11Speaker 1: are made for this ce Like, honestly, God, watching it
- 41:13Speaker 1: at home, I know I could never do the things
- 41:16Speaker 1: that you have done in your life, just from a
- 41:18Speaker 1: physical perspective and a mental perspective. But it's like I
- 41:20Speaker 1: relate to you somehow and so and I feel like
- 41:23Speaker 1: I do with all the DS's, you know. I think
- 41:25Speaker 1: that was part of me being emotional, was like I
- 41:27Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, these guys they get it.
- 41:29Speaker 1: They know you know, you guys seem to know what
- 41:31Speaker 1: we all think of you as well, Like we hold
- 41:33Speaker 1: you up here. But you also want us to know
- 41:35Speaker 1: that you're human beings and you're like relating to everybody
- 41:38Speaker 1: in the room. And I mean, it's it's remarkable because
- 41:41Speaker 1: I can imagine, you know, I've met Golden Tate and
- 41:45Speaker 1: Cam Newton a few times in different settings. And but
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know, especially if you were a fan, let's say,
- 41:50Speaker 1: of Cam or whatever, and now you have to break
- 41:53Speaker 1: them down. That can't be an easy role to be
- 41:55Speaker 1: in either.
- 41:55Speaker 3: I wouldn't imagine.
- 41:57Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, man. And I've known Cam, know
- 42:00Speaker 4: the person.
- 42:00Speaker 6: But you know, I've watched him when he came in
- 42:01Speaker 6: the league as a rookie, you know, so I just
- 42:03Speaker 6: playing his golden tape. You know, his team put my
- 42:06Speaker 6: team out of the playoffs many times when he played,
- 42:12Speaker 6: this team put me out of and I was like,
- 42:14Speaker 6: I couldn't stand the Seahawks for years, and I was like, yeah,
- 42:17Speaker 6: and he was on that team, he was playing, he
- 42:19Speaker 6: was doing.
- 42:20Speaker 4: So no, you're you're right, and it's it's very hard.
- 42:23Speaker 6: And that is the thing what you said was, we
- 42:26Speaker 6: want people to still see us as we.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Are, just knowing human beings as well.
- 42:29Speaker 6: You know, we had the same challenges to become who
- 42:32Speaker 6: we are. We had to identify we can be further,
- 42:35Speaker 6: we can be better. And the number one thing you
- 42:37Speaker 6: got to you gotta find your purpose. You got to
- 42:39Speaker 6: be inspired by something first though, you know, to be
- 42:42Speaker 6: willing to walk through that fire, you got to be inspired.
- 42:44Speaker 4: I was inspired with my grandmother.
- 42:46Speaker 6: I wanted to make a proud so the Navy Seal
- 42:50Speaker 6: graduating first black man that graduate top of his class
- 42:53Speaker 6: in any Navy Seal training pipeline to.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Accolade, you know, to get that to achieve that.
- 43:00Speaker 6: For me, it was like I got to get this
- 43:02Speaker 6: from my grandmother so she I can show her a
- 43:05Speaker 6: victim of the circumstance.
- 43:06Speaker 4: Right, I want to atalysts.
- 43:08Speaker 6: But others who struggle in life as a child, who
- 43:11Speaker 6: didn't have the best growth, you know, the best you know, raising,
- 43:15Speaker 6: there's a word for you know what I'm trying to say.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Yeah, upbringing?
- 43:20Speaker 3: Yeah, upbringing, And you can be yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 4: More if you want it.
- 43:22Speaker 6: But you got to be aspired by something and then
- 43:24Speaker 6: you'll find your purpose as you're working through that inspiration
- 43:27Speaker 6: and you'll find it and you'll become everything that you
- 43:29Speaker 6: need to be so you can help others do the
- 43:31Speaker 6: same thing. And that's what I want to do. I
- 43:32Speaker 6: want to help others be the same thing, do the
- 43:34Speaker 6: same thing.
- 43:35Speaker 3: I love it.
- 43:36Speaker 4: I love it.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I can listen to you talk all day. Can we
- 43:38Speaker 1: do a three hours of this podcast? I have a question.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I got a question for you, cue, so I'll let
- 43:44Speaker 1: you off the hook. For this season that's airing right now,
- 43:47Speaker 1: but with the previous seasons, has there been someone that
- 43:50Speaker 1: stands out to you as someone who you're just like, Okay,
- 43:54Speaker 1: this person for season two and three, I mean, this
- 43:57Speaker 1: person went next level. This person went above and beyond,
- 44:00Speaker 1: you know, and and like they stood out more than
- 44:02Speaker 1: you leave it. Like like on day one, I'm sure
- 44:04Speaker 1: we're all guilty of I even said a trust the
- 44:06Speaker 1: day one, I'm like, here's who's gonna end up at
- 44:07Speaker 1: the end here, you know, y'all, I'm sure you go
- 44:10Speaker 1: through it too. Was there someone that you were like, Okay,
- 44:13Speaker 1: this person went above and beyond more than I could
- 44:16Speaker 1: possibly have imagine from the from the couple of seasons
- 44:18Speaker 1: that you've been on so far.
- 44:19Speaker 3: And you don't have to count this one if you
- 44:21Speaker 3: don't want.
- 44:21Speaker 6: To, uh on see uh yeah, I can't really safe
- 44:25Speaker 6: for this one. Yeah, we don't want to give something away, right,
- 44:31Speaker 6: But season two for me, it was Jojo Siwa Jo.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Yes. I mean when she was freaking carying, was it
- 44:40Speaker 2: she carrying Tom Sandoval or Nick or yes? I was like,
- 44:45Speaker 2: what the hell she's carrying a man?
- 44:49Speaker 4: Wow?
- 44:50Speaker 6: Her physical yes, her physical her physical strength and endurance
- 44:56Speaker 6: was pretty impressive for her age. You know, she never
- 45:00Speaker 6: really trained for something like this when we found out later,
- 45:02Speaker 6: I mean she did some training, but nothing on this level.
- 45:04Speaker 6: And coming from a child the star to this because
- 45:08Speaker 6: she was also trying to find more of her purpose, right,
- 45:10Speaker 6: you know, from being the child face to now an
- 45:14Speaker 6: adult face and how to make the addition and what
- 45:17Speaker 6: I really want to do, who I want to be
- 45:18Speaker 6: and all that kind of stuff. So I think Jojo
- 45:21Speaker 6: Siwah was the most impressive, and I want to say
- 45:24Speaker 6: to the other ds as well, she was the one
- 45:26Speaker 6: that everyone was like, I'll be.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Down, yeah, no kidding.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Okay. So I reached out to my season of Celebrity
- 45:48Speaker 2: Recruits or whatever you want to call us, and I said,
- 45:52Speaker 2: I'm not going to reach out to Instagram. I actually
- 45:55Speaker 2: want to know if you guys have any questions for
- 45:57Speaker 2: Q because I'm talking to him today. So I have
- 46:01Speaker 2: a couple of questions from the from the staff or no,
- 46:05Speaker 2: from the recruits, and before we get there, one last
- 46:09Speaker 2: thing from me and then we'll end with these questions
- 46:11Speaker 2: unless you have something else, Bob. But okay, So they
- 46:14Speaker 2: cast you, you know, to be part of the DS.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Did they know about your laugh before they casted you?
- 46:23Speaker 2: Or because you guys if I don't know that anyone
- 46:28Speaker 2: watching this season knows that his laugh and I want
- 46:31Speaker 2: you to do it for us, like you have to
- 46:33Speaker 2: give us a little example. But when he would laugh,
- 46:37Speaker 2: it was like literally, you're hearing sorry the devil like
- 46:42Speaker 2: you when he when he laughs for you, Bob, You're
- 46:45Speaker 2: gonna be like, yep, that's evil. I'm sorry, c but
- 46:51Speaker 2: it's true. So can you okay, So first, can you
- 46:54Speaker 2: laugh for us? Show us? Give me a little like memory.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna, you know, close my eyes and listen, and
- 47:02Speaker 2: you gotta saying them there and then and then tell
- 47:06Speaker 2: me if they knew about it before or if they
- 47:09Speaker 2: they how that all transpired and how the laugh like
- 47:13Speaker 2: developed if.
- 47:14Speaker 4: You will, Uh, how the last transpired? Really? I developed it?
- 47:20Speaker 4: Active duty? Okay, active duty? Uh? When we would do
- 47:27Speaker 4: crazy stuff and I was training in the still teams. Yeah,
- 47:30Speaker 4: we we you know, we we're crazy. I'm not gonna lie.
- 47:33Speaker 4: You gotta be crazy to do this job. In some
- 47:34Speaker 4: kind of way.
- 47:37Speaker 6: You will find near death near death experiences like funny,
- 47:42Speaker 6: and you gotta like I made the laugh evil. And
- 47:45Speaker 6: then we had these little times where everybody be doing
- 47:47Speaker 6: these little laughs and we laugh at each other, and
- 47:48Speaker 6: then we'd just be just laughing for no reason after everything.
- 47:52Speaker 4: The stuff that we would do together in the unit
- 47:54Speaker 4: and a small little group.
- 47:56Speaker 6: So that's how kind of created itself and it and
- 47:59Speaker 6: then I started doing it. The is No, it's almost
- 48:01Speaker 6: almost like my normal laugh. Now everyone says it's evil.
- 48:08Speaker 1: I mean it doesn't.
- 48:11Speaker 2: He's not. He's not doing it likes as much as
- 48:14Speaker 2: you did. Oh, you have to do it just so
- 48:16Speaker 2: Bob can hear it. So if they don't show it
- 48:18Speaker 2: on this season, everyone will know what I'm talking about,
- 48:21Speaker 2: that I'm not crazy. Come on, cue, put yourself in
- 48:26Speaker 2: that place, you know when we're standing on parade and
- 48:30Speaker 2: you're like saying you're gonna get punished, Like, come on,
- 48:38Speaker 2: act like me and Boba in the parade. I'm great.
- 48:40Speaker 6: Ready, let me get it, let me get my mind,
- 48:43Speaker 6: because it's okay, and it comes out as an instructor.
- 48:46Speaker 6: It really like, it's perfect when it comes out as
- 48:49Speaker 6: my when I'm being an instructor.
- 48:50Speaker 4: So so I'm.
- 48:52Speaker 6: Like, I'll say something to somebody so it'd be like
- 48:54Speaker 6: for you and Bob, I'll be like, okay, So you
- 48:57Speaker 6: think you guys are going to chill through this pro man, Yes, sir, sir, yes, sir.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Wait listen, you have to listen to his laugh, Bob.
- 49:13Speaker 3: It's pretty good, I will say.
- 49:16Speaker 6: I'd be like, okay, all right. So you think you
- 49:18Speaker 6: guys owe me later for this? You guys lollygag throughout
- 49:22Speaker 6: this course. You guys didn't respect the course. You guys
- 49:24Speaker 6: gonna owe me, and you guys gonna pay for this later.
- 49:26Speaker 6: Trust me, you ain't gonna like at the end of it, like.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Literally, can't you see?
- 49:34Speaker 2: Like he has like horns coming.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Out of I'm taking my armband off right now.
- 49:40Speaker 6: I'm giving you the evilness of what's coming to you.
- 49:45Speaker 6: Think of the evilness that's going to come.
- 49:46Speaker 3: It's just like you're stirring the cauldron. You're like here
- 49:49Speaker 3: it comes.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Yep, exactly right, sureing the cauldron. Oh my gosh. Okay,
- 49:55Speaker 2: so I got this question from Marion and all of
- 50:01Speaker 2: us were thinking it. So I'm sure, but and you
- 50:06Speaker 2: hopefully you'll laugh at this and the way you know,
- 50:10Speaker 2: I feel like you have a pretty good sense of humor.
- 50:12Speaker 2: I feel like all the ds have a pretty good
- 50:14Speaker 2: sense of humor, which is which I would love to know,
- 50:17Speaker 2: like be on the fly on the wall and see
- 50:19Speaker 2: what you guys actually talk about after the show. But okay,
- 50:22Speaker 2: so this is Marian's question, does he feel guilty? Honestly? Afterwards,
- 50:27Speaker 2: when swimming while perched on a swim noodle in the
- 50:31Speaker 2: pool challenge while some while some were nearly drowning while
- 50:37Speaker 2: splashing water on our faces.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Somebody, somebody would ask me that same question.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Hysterical, Oh my gosh.
- 50:53Speaker 6: I was like, I got I need one, I need
- 50:56Speaker 6: the new but I had to pass it off to
- 50:58Speaker 6: somebody else if y'all are really drunk.
- 51:00Speaker 4: So that's why I'm like sitting.
- 51:04Speaker 2: So the purpose of the noodle was so you could
- 51:06Speaker 2: save some people. No, I'm just kidding.
- 51:09Speaker 6: Partly so I can say that people I need to
- 51:11Speaker 6: be well rested, need to be well.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Feel if it need be then I'll pass it all,
- 51:18Speaker 4: but for the most part, it's for my for my comfort.
- 51:22Speaker 3: He's already gone through this, I know, I know.
- 51:27Speaker 6: The beehive in buzzs, behiving buzzs. We're in this gignomous
- 51:31Speaker 6: pool and your class.
- 51:32Speaker 4: Is pretty pretty still big.
- 51:34Speaker 6: You got about one hundred people still in your class.
- 51:36Speaker 6: I can't remember if we were all hundred in there
- 51:38Speaker 6: or it was like fifty. And they got one instructor
- 51:41Speaker 6: in the center on a on a noodle and you
- 51:44Speaker 6: got that four or five instructures swimming around smashing everybody together.
- 51:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a big group of us, and it creates panic.
- 51:53Speaker 6: It creates that fear, It creates that that feeling fear,
- 51:57Speaker 6: fearing other, that fear of death right because you're choking,
- 52:01Speaker 6: you don't know if you're going to survive. People panted
- 52:03Speaker 6: like crazy. So that's that's the scenario of what it's
- 52:06Speaker 6: really like. It's no joke. The beehive is now joke
- 52:10Speaker 6: at all. But that was good question.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I loved that question. I was like, Mary, and
- 52:16Speaker 2: you're on it. And during Beehive in your training, did
- 52:23Speaker 2: they have scuba divers like underneath in case people drown,
- 52:26Speaker 2: because they did for.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Us, No, no, I don't recall that.
- 52:31Speaker 2: No, yeah, no, yeah, I mean that's the swimmers.
- 52:37Speaker 6: That's why we had more instructors swimming around like what
- 52:39Speaker 6: we did it. For us, it was just Rudy. And
- 52:41Speaker 6: then you have Billy and Foxy on the top because
- 52:43Speaker 6: they can really see and their idea not their idea,
- 52:46Speaker 6: they're also job for Billy and Foxy was to identify
- 52:49Speaker 6: who was really struggling and then get Rudy to go
- 52:51Speaker 6: over and try to help them.
- 52:53Speaker 4: But we didn't.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because Rudy was in the water, true, right, Okay,
- 52:58Speaker 2: and then Golden asked, ask who voted him to be
- 53:01Speaker 2: the Hammer and the punisher.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Too?
- 53:10Speaker 4: The other the ds did? They said they did? They did?
- 53:14Speaker 6: They said, uh, based off because I'm the Seal, right,
- 53:17Speaker 6: the Seal is like a big title everyone knows. And
- 53:19Speaker 6: I was like, oh, yeah, you know this is my
- 53:21Speaker 6: this is my thing, right, I'm all this this is
- 53:23Speaker 6: my second nature, my second home.
- 53:25Speaker 4: I'm all I'm comfortable here.
- 53:26Speaker 6: So yeah, I love that part of it. So this
- 53:30Speaker 6: is this is probably who I'm going to be from
- 53:31Speaker 6: then on.
- 53:33Speaker 2: That's well, and that leads me to my next question,
- 53:38Speaker 2: which is and maybe we'll end on this unless you
- 53:41Speaker 2: have anything, Bob. But Christy asked, ask him, after being
- 53:45Speaker 2: as accomplished as he is, first Black Buds graduate to
- 53:48Speaker 2: graduate top of his class, what goals do you have
- 53:51Speaker 2: for your future?
- 53:52Speaker 1: Mmmm?
- 53:53Speaker 6: Good, serious question, Good, serious question, Christy. That's that's there's
- 53:59Speaker 6: a lot that I want to want to be accomplished. Right,
- 54:01Speaker 6: We kind of talked a little bit about it, right.
- 54:03Speaker 6: I want to, as I said, I want to be
- 54:04Speaker 6: a beast until the day I die, not just physically.
- 54:07Speaker 6: I want to impact millions of lives through my keynotes.
- 54:11Speaker 4: Through my book that I'm writing. And that book is
- 54:14Speaker 4: called why Not The Reason I Call Me? So it's
- 54:18Speaker 4: like when you grab.
- 54:18Speaker 6: My book and you read the title of it, it's
- 54:21Speaker 6: going to make you ask yourself already, why not me?
- 54:23Speaker 4: Why not you be? You know on the Bachelorette?
- 54:26Speaker 6: You know, why not you be the Navy seal, the
- 54:29Speaker 6: doctor or the pilot or whatever top you know, profession
- 54:33Speaker 6: that it is that you want to be Because I
- 54:35Speaker 6: think everyone has the ability to get there. Now, everyone
- 54:38Speaker 6: comes from a different background, so it's gonna be a
- 54:40Speaker 6: little harder for those someming than others.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Right, But.
- 54:43Speaker 6: People to understand and know that you have the ability
- 54:47Speaker 6: to change your circumstance is the key thing that I
- 54:49Speaker 6: really want to push. I want to be the lead
- 54:52Speaker 6: dog on that thing, and I hope to God, right,
- 54:56Speaker 6: I pray a lot that I can be that catalyst
- 54:59Speaker 6: to get maybe suicideally right, Yeah, that was one accolade
- 55:02Speaker 6: of my life. Then graduating talking my class. But what
- 55:05Speaker 6: I do after that, I've got my bachelor's degree, right,
- 55:07Speaker 6: I started learning how to do public speaking.
- 55:10Speaker 4: I've been a personally trainer, so all these.
- 55:12Speaker 6: Things lead into go from the Steel teams taught me
- 55:15Speaker 6: many things about how I can achieve these things, but
- 55:18Speaker 6: now I got.
- 55:18Speaker 4: To take that with it at the same time.
- 55:20Speaker 6: So my life is really geared to that service thing
- 55:23Speaker 6: that I want to be able to say I served
- 55:26Speaker 6: millions of people. So when I'm done on this earth,
- 55:28Speaker 6: my time is done, I really hope to have impacted
- 55:30Speaker 6: millions of people.
- 55:31Speaker 4: That's my goal.
- 55:33Speaker 1: That's amazing, and you can do it every week right now,
- 55:36Speaker 1: I'll tell you that.
- 55:37Speaker 3: I know.
- 55:37Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, you're impacting people like me
- 55:41Speaker 2: who never ever ever would have thought that they would
- 55:44Speaker 2: be part of this show. I mean when they first
- 55:46Speaker 2: asked me, I was like, hell, no, don't you want
- 55:53Speaker 2: my husband? And then, you know, and then thought more
- 55:58Speaker 2: about it and thought that I that I could actually
- 56:02Speaker 2: really challenge myself and get back to who I was
- 56:06Speaker 2: before my family, you know, not taking away from that,
- 56:09Speaker 2: because it really is my greatest joy in my life,
- 56:11Speaker 2: but I just wanted to challenge myself and make my
- 56:15Speaker 2: kids proud, make my husband proud, make myself proud. And
- 56:18Speaker 2: so you you definitely affected one in a positive way.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Even though you're yelling like crazy at me when I
- 56:26Speaker 2: was running to the jeep. Yeah, in that laugh, but
- 56:32Speaker 2: you weren't. You weren't saying anything that I wasn't already
- 56:36Speaker 2: saying in my head. Obviously. I think that that's what
- 56:40Speaker 2: a lot of us are going through. You know, you're
- 56:42Speaker 2: saying exactly what we're thinking. And when you said it,
- 56:47Speaker 2: I was like, I kind of want to prove him wrong.
- 56:51Speaker 2: You know, he's saying all these things.
- 56:54Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that's the nature of that whole thing, to
- 56:59Speaker 6: see you want to hear me.
- 57:01Speaker 4: You might get pissed off and you ain't gonna like
- 57:02Speaker 4: me or whatever, but.
- 57:05Speaker 6: You say, you know what, I'm gonna prove this dude
- 57:07Speaker 6: to get him f Q I'm going to push him.
- 57:10Speaker 4: I'm gonna make it. That's all were looking for. That's
- 57:12Speaker 4: really what we want. Yeah, that's awesome.
- 57:15Speaker 2: Well, thank you for letting me be part of it.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Thank for being Thanks for being part of it. Now
- 57:21Speaker 2: you've got Bob wanting to sign up for the show.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Well, I didn't say that. I didn't say that, but
- 57:27Speaker 3: I will tell you I listened to you talk.
- 57:30Speaker 1: It's like listen to Dan campbell Man, my Detroit Lions coach.
- 57:33Speaker 1: I want to run through a brick wall for the guy.
- 57:35Speaker 1: So yeah, I get fired up by this kind of stuff.
- 57:38Speaker 1: And I was such a I was very proud of
- 57:40Speaker 1: my friend Trista and uh, you know, we we had
- 57:44Speaker 1: a chance to interview a couple other people from the show,
- 57:45Speaker 1: and it's been one of those things where I was
- 57:48Speaker 1: like so proud of her.
- 57:49Speaker 3: I got emotional watching it, you know, I really did.
- 57:51Speaker 1: And it's and uh, I think it's a lot of
- 57:53Speaker 1: those factors coming into play, but it's definitely one of
- 57:55Speaker 1: those things where you're just watching people go through a
- 57:58Speaker 1: fraction of what I know you've gone through through to
- 58:00Speaker 1: get where you've been. And you know, they always say
- 58:03Speaker 1: you you know you can't let the dog out in
- 58:05Speaker 1: the backyard if you don't have a backyard.
- 58:06Speaker 3: And we got to thank our servicemen and women for
- 58:08Speaker 3: that every day.
- 58:09Speaker 1: So you know, thank you for that, and and thank
- 58:12Speaker 1: you for for showing us a little bit a little
- 58:15Speaker 1: taste of you know what that is because I can
- 58:18Speaker 1: I magnify it in my head about a billion times
- 58:20Speaker 1: and know what it really is.
- 58:21Speaker 3: So it's crazy.
- 58:22Speaker 6: Appreciate that, honestly appreciate that. Uh thanks a lot with
- 58:25Speaker 6: that bomb. And that's really what we want to do.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Man.
- 58:27Speaker 6: And when you say you're coach from Detroit, I like
- 58:30Speaker 6: that guy. He has he has the mindset of what
- 58:34Speaker 6: we're talking about all the time. And you know, just
- 58:37Speaker 6: to be honest with you now, I don't even like
- 58:39Speaker 6: you because I gotta pay you next week.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Yeah, your commander, ye.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Me and you are. I'm about to get your number
- 58:49Speaker 4: after this.
- 58:51Speaker 3: We can be buddies after. We'll be buddies after.
- 58:53Speaker 1: But we aren't going to be buddies that day. I
- 58:55Speaker 1: can tell you that right now.
- 58:56Speaker 2: But.
- 58:58Speaker 4: After the game will be cool.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 59:00Speaker 1: I'm a big I'm a big fan of your team too,
- 59:02Speaker 1: and I love your coach man, he's I like that
- 59:05Speaker 1: whole mindset too. He's kind of he's kind of tapped
- 59:07Speaker 1: into that. And you know, I think both those guys,
- 59:10Speaker 1: those guys should be candidates of the Coach of the
- 59:12Speaker 1: Year for sure.
- 59:13Speaker 2: So wait, I'm sorry, back up, who is your team?
- 59:16Speaker 4: Qing?
- 59:19Speaker 2: The Commanders got it because Ryan used to play for
- 59:23Speaker 2: the Panthers.
- 59:25Speaker 4: Oh did it?
- 59:26Speaker 2: Oh?
- 59:27Speaker 4: I didn't know that.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Didn't he play for the Ravens too? I thought he
- 59:30Speaker 3: played for the Ravens.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he got I think he got drafted by the
- 59:33Speaker 2: Ravens and then got traded to the Panthers and then
- 59:38Speaker 2: he played for nine seconds.
- 59:40Speaker 3: So I will say this so about her husband real quick.
- 59:43Speaker 1: And I love this. When we were both on the
- 59:45Speaker 1: Bachelorette vying for Trista's love, she chose the right guy.
- 59:49Speaker 3: I promise you.
- 59:51Speaker 1: They were making a big deal out of me. Haven't
- 59:53Speaker 1: played college football. I played Michigan State, and they're like,
- 59:56Speaker 1: you know, oh, well, Bob played colle and the Producers
- 59:58Speaker 1: and Ryan was like my bunk, you know.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: And so I had like talked to him a little
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: bit about stuff, and.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: I'm like, and I was getting so angry because it
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: was like, in every conversation they try to make me
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: talk about it. I'm like, I'm not talking about it.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I was a backup quarterback. This dude, this dude played
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: for the Baltimore Ravens. But I was like, I was
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: losing my mind over it because no one was talking
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: about he was Ryan the firefighter.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: I'm like, no, he's not.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Oh my god, yeah, so the firefighter.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: He's not just a firefighter, damnit.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I got myself worked out more than once because
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I just adore the guy.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: But yeah, it's uh, it's really great.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: It's been really great talk with you. Thank you for
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: giving us your time and for being on the show
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: with us, and thanks for giving us such great television
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: to watch too, because I've been loving the show and
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: very excited for this week's episode, and man, it's just
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: been a it's been this whole thing has been like
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: an unbelievable, mind blown experience. When I found out Tristan
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: was on there and then to see her kicking ass
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: made me really happy.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: So hey, sometimes, thank you both for having me on here.
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: I appreciate it and look to do more. You know,
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: I'm trying to get further out there, so hopefully, you know,
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: I'll get have opportunities to continue to speak this kind
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: of word to people.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: So I enjoyed that. Well awesome, awesome girl. You did
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: a great time.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate it, we appreciate your time.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: And you know, keep watching Special Forces World's Toughest Test
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: on Fox on Wednesdays and then it will stream on
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Hulu the next day. Thanks everybody for listening.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Thank you everybody. Thanks you, thanks a lot.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: Thank you.
