- 0:54Solo preneur or just someone who wants to get more done in their day to day life.
- 1:02You're listening to the Stop the Mind Screw Podcast.
- 1:04I am your host, Kathie Owen.
- 1:06I have been a certified fitness trainer and certified life coach since 2002.
- 1:13On this channel, we talk about entrepreneurship having a growth mindset, fitness, Reality Transurfing and more.
- 1:22And today we're talking about having a productive entrepreneur mindset.
- 1:29So I'm going to jump right into it today.
- 1:31We're going to discuss eight key elements of a productive entreprenuer mindset.
- 1:37And I also want to invite you to download the mind map that goes with this episode and build off of that.
- 1:44So a mindmap is very beneficial to just either take notes or keep it fresh in your mind.
- 1:51And structure it in a way that our mind thinks you can find that mind map at kathieowen.com/mindmap.
- 2:00Link will be in the show notes and the description.
- 2:02So number one, we want to set clear goals.
- 2:07Now, this may seem obvious, but as I mentioned in my episode last week on flow, these goals need to be set at an abstract and a granular level.
- 2:21And I love setting goals on a mind map because this is the easiest way to start with the big goal and go down to the granular levels.
- 2:31One of the best ways to explain settings goals is using the SMART goal method.
- 2:38SMART is an acronym and it stands for setting specific, measurable, achievable.
- 2:45Relevant and time bound goals.
- 2:49These objectives are a good way to plan the steps to meet the longterm goals in your business plan.
- 2:58This is the best way to have a clear understanding of what you want on a giant level and bring it down to the granular level.
- 3:07And it'll also help you achieve them in a more structured manner.
- 3:12Number two, prioritize your tasks.
- 3:15As entrepreneurs, we only have a limited amount of time and resources.
- 3:20However, if you're working from a place of flow, like I teach.
- 3:24It feels like you have an unlimited amount of time and resources, because technically that is the case, but sometimes we get easily distracted and we're going to talk about distractions too, but you want to prioritize your tasks and we need to be able to prioritize our tasks and focus on the most important things that need to get done in order to achieve our goals.
- 3:49I love notion for this.
- 3:51But you can use any type of project management system, like Asana or Trello or Monday to help prioritize your tasks.
- 4:01And these tools help us identify the most actionable steps to reach that big goal for today.
- 4:08Using something like notion has made it so simple for me to break the big things down into small tasks that I can do on a daily basis.
- 4:18It is entrepreneurial thinking for the long run.
- 4:22And it also proves helpful in the longterm.
- 4:27Number three being resourceful.
- 4:30As entrepreneurs, we need to be able to find creative solutions to problems.
- 4:35And make the most out of the resources we have available.
- 4:39Entrepreneurship education is an ongoing process.
- 4:44I'm going to repeat that.
- 4:46Entrepreneurship education is an ongoing process.
- 4:50Not only is entrepreneurship, an ongoing process, but so is being a team member.
- 4:54So as being a coach, so as being a trainer, This, so is just living life in general.
- 5:01Otherwise you're going to stagnate.
- 5:04And we must make a conscious effort to try different things and make our little corner of the world a better place with our innovation and our creative mindset.
- 5:17So we must be able to make a conscious effort to try different things and make our little corner of the world a better place with our innovation and our creative mindset.
- 5:29I want to remind you here that you have a message that needs to be heard.
- 5:34Whether you realize that or not.
- 5:37I invite you to research that and get resourceful and learn where you can express your voice, your message.
- 5:45That has to be out there in the world.
- 5:48And try different things.Consciously try different things.
- 5:54Because once you start trying different things, it makes for a more creative process.
- 6:00It has proven wise for me to have an awesome mentor, like Joseph Rodrigues.
- 6:06And Jasmine Star and even have support groups.
- 6:09I like those found in Joseph Rodrigues live meetings every Friday at three o'clock.
- 6:15Or a support group like social curator has, and I'll have links to both of those in the show notes and the description below, because I found them very resourceful.
- 6:27And that's what we're talking about here.
- 6:29And this has helped me stay focused and on track when there are so many different shiny objects out there to chase.
- 6:37Number four, be adaptable.
- 6:40The business landscape is constantly changing.
- 6:43To create a thriving business it is helpful to adapt to new opportunities and challenges, and it takes critical thinking.
- 6:53One of the best traits of being adaptable is the ability to re frame failure.
- 6:59Let me repeat that because one of the very best traits you can have of being adaptable is the ability to re frame failure.
- 7:09Failure is going to happen on this journey to success.
- 7:12It is a given and when failure does happen, try to take a different perspective on it.
- 7:19Don't accept the status quo.
- 7:22Instead, step away and reframe the situation.
- 7:26And this type of mindset will take you a very long way.
- 7:29Way.
- 7:30On this journey, and this is something that I coach and I teach to everybody from fitness to entrepreneurship because.
- 7:39Failure is going to happen.
- 7:41But when you frame it in a way that gives you a step and leverage in your success on your journey, it makes everything.
- 7:50Adaptable and easily acceptable.
- 7:54Number five continuously learn.
- 7:58Entrepreneurs need to be willing to learn and improve in order to stay competitive.
- 8:04And find new opportunities.
- 8:06This is where masterminds are very, very helpful.
- 8:10As entrepreneurs the journey can be a very lonely one, but I have found a common thread among small business owners that is helpful to bounce ideas off of others.
- 8:22Another thing I enjoy doing continuously learning is reading books, listening to podcast episodes, and investing in courses to help improve my mindset on a daily basis.
- 8:33I come up some with some of the best ideas by listening to the same podcast episodes or the same books over and over and over again.
- 8:44And I learned something new every single time.
- 8:47And talk about positive change.
- 8:50It happens every single time.
- 8:53Joseph Rodriguez has an entrepreneurship course that I highly recommend, and it is very reasonably priced too.
- 9:00I might add.
- 9:01Number six, stay disciplined and focused.
- 9:05This one single thing can really hurt an entrepreneur.
- 9:09And that is lack of focus.
- 9:11And discipline.
- 9:13Oftentimes we are met with hurdles to overcome, and the big idea that we have takes time.
- 9:21It takes many small steps and procrastination can and will set in.
- 9:28To counteract that.
- 9:30Procrastination one must stay disciplined and focused.
- 9:34And I highly recommend signing up for the 12 week virtue building program that I have.
- 9:39It's free every week.
- 9:41You get a new virtue to practice on and work on it's this.
- 9:45It's built off of this same.
- 9:47Program that Benjamin Franklin had that Napoleon hill studied and I include it in my free email system.
- 9:55So you can just go sign up for that and get a new virtue every week to work on.
- 10:00And one of those virtues is controlled attention.
- 10:04And one of those is self-discipline.
- 10:06And those to stay in this number six, you stay focused and disciplined.
- 10:12In every mindset of a successful entrepreneur lies a focused and disciplined mind, whether you believe it or not, it's your belief.
- 10:21That's going to take you there.
- 10:23So I invite you to understand that your beliefs are what takes you there.
- 10:29So when you rewrite those beliefs using the pruning shears of revision, like taught by Neville Goddard.
- 10:36You will find you have discipline.
- 10:39And you will find that you have focus it's in there.
- 10:43When you have discipline, you have the following, you have a feeling of being in control of yourself.
- 10:50You have higher rates of goal, achievement and success.
- 10:54You're able to overcome addictions and procrastination.
- 10:59Let me add this.
- 11:00That took, overcome procrastination.
- 11:02It takes action.
- 11:04Even if it's a tiny step, that journey of a thousand miles starts with.
- 11:09With a single step.
- 11:11You'll feel more motivated towards your goals on a regular consistent basis and definitely have higher satisfaction.
- 11:20With your accomplishments that you do have.
- 11:23This not only creates a better life, but is also an indicator of a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
- 11:32Entrepreneurs need to stay disciplined in staying focused on their goals and avoid distractions and develop the habit of executing and following through with the plan.
- 11:46Number seven you'll cultivate a growth mindset.
- 11:50A growth mindset is when entrepreneurs understand that their abilities can be developed.
- 11:56The effort is your means to an end, not the end.
- 12:01Entrepreneurs with a growth mindset, believe that their abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work, dedication and learning from failure, which is crucial for any entrepreneur.
- 12:14I'm going to repeat that.
- 12:15Entrepreneurs with a growth mindset.
- 12:17Believe.
- 12:19That their abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work Dedication and learning from failure.
- 12:27The business world can be a tough place. And as a budding entrepreneur it is important to keep your mind focused on growth and not the failures that happen along the way.
- 12:39And having a growth mindset is one of the best things you can give yourself.
- 12:46Number eight building a strong support network.
- 12:50Entrepreneurs need support and guidance and it is important to build a network of advisors mentors and peers.
- 12:59Having a productive entrepreneurial mindset is important for achieving success in business. But it is also important to remember that it is a continuous process of learning and growth. For aspiring entrepreneurs this is one of the best things you can do to create an entrepreneurial mindset.
- 13:20I thoroughly enjoy the insights i learn and my support networks and it has helped me tremendously in making those so-called difficult decisions of entrepreneurship become easy things and easy tasks.
- 13:36So in conclusion having a productive entrepreneurial mindset is not always easy obviously.
- 13:43If it was everyone would be doing it.
- 13:45However these eight steps really proved beneficial when trying to prove to yourself that it is possible.
- 13:54Number one set clear goals.
- 13:56Number two prioritize your tasks.
- 13:59Number three be resourceful.Number four be adaptable.
- 14:05Number five continuously learn and improve.
- 14:09Number six stay disciplined and focused.
- 14:12Number seven cultivate a growth mindset.Number eight Build a strong support network.
- 14:21And that's the final one but i want to add this little point because i created a mind map that goes with this episode and it has each of these eight points laid out.
- 14:31And they're just laid out in the mind map to show you how to have a productive entrepreneurial mindset.
- 14:37As a team member,as a coach, as a trainer these things are important for us to keep in mind because our mind is going to drift or like remember from outwitting the devil is going to drift But with that mind map what you can do is you can build off of it.
- 14:56You can build off of where you need to work on setting clear goals.
- 15:01That's number one.
- 15:02Where you need to work on prioritizing your tasks.Where you need to work on being resourceful.
- 15:08Or maybe you have some resources you can link in that mind map that you can refer back to.
- 15:14And to become adaptable.
- 15:16Maybe there's something that really hit the nail on the head that i said today and you can write that down in your mind map.
- 15:24Or in your notes. And refer to that so that you come back to and go oh that's what i missed.
- 15:30I'm not being adaptable to the situation.
- 15:33Number five is to continuously learn and improve a mind map is so helpful with that and it's also helpful to teach as an entrepreneur to teach your clients or your friends or your Your prospects exactly what the steps are that we're going to take in this process Number six is stay disciplined and focused you can also identify in that mind map where am i staying disciplined where am i losing focus what does my day look like And next week i'm going to talk about having A good solid routine in your day and how the routines can help you.
- 16:10And then build a strong support network maybe i mentioned something today like social curator or joseph rodriguez you may want to note those down in your mind map and build off of that.
- 16:22And see what that takes you and where that takes you.
- 16:27So having a productive entrepreneurial mindset is important for achieving success in business. But it's also important to remember that is a continuous Process of learning and growth.
- 16:41And it also is not just for the entrepreneur like i said it's for the team member for the coach for relationships that you have in your life.
- 16:49And just remember it's a continuing process of learning and growth.
- 16:57Thank you for spending part of your day with me i trust that you found this helpful If you know someone who can benefit from this please share it with them.
- 17:05And until next time i will see you next time peace out and Namaste.
