- 1:10Speaker 3: Thank you. Uh, nice to meet you too. How long
- 1:13Speaker 3: have you been in the US on this trip?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Sue days?
- 1:18Speaker 3: A couple of days promoting the new album?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yes, I was. I did want to stream?
- 1:24Speaker 3: Who stream? Did you do?
- 1:26Speaker 4: Black Boy?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Oh? Nice? Did you guys make a song?
- 1:29Speaker 4: No, it wasn't.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It was like eating ohok bank, the mook bang thing, eating,
- 1:37Speaker 2: like teaching him how to eat sushi.
- 1:39Speaker 3: How do you did he not know how to eat sushi?
- 1:42Speaker 2: There's a lot of science to it because he was
- 1:45Speaker 2: like pouring soy sauce on top of sushi.
- 1:48Speaker 4: I said, don't pour.
- 1:50Speaker 3: You're supposed to dip. Yeah, like just a little. And
- 1:53Speaker 3: there's certain soy sauce or certain sushi you're not supposed
- 1:56Speaker 3: to You're supposed to do ponzu.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Or nothing, so you know.
- 2:02Speaker 3: So, yeah, I love sushi. I was just in Japan
- 2:04Speaker 3: and it was it was my favorite food trip of
- 2:06Speaker 3: all time. I ate so much. It was like even
- 2:09Speaker 3: like the cheaper places where the conveyor belts yep, where
- 2:13Speaker 3: you just order and then it just shoots out and
- 2:15Speaker 3: you're like, the food isn't better than any sushi had
- 2:18Speaker 3: in America. And then we went to like the really
- 2:19Speaker 3: nice places and it was just so good. You guys
- 2:22Speaker 3: are I would say Japanese food and Mexican food the
- 2:25Speaker 3: best food, yep, for sure. So you had fun Like
- 2:28Speaker 3: the muckbang? Is that where like people eat a bunch
- 2:30Speaker 3: of shit at once?
- 2:31Speaker 4: Yeah? I think so. It's a Korean word that.
- 2:35Speaker 3: I just think of the like girls on like TikTok
- 2:37Speaker 3: that like bite into like crazy shit and it's like,
- 2:40Speaker 3: oh but yeah, nonetheless, But yeah, how did you you?
- 2:45Speaker 3: You know, so many American hip hop fans have been
- 2:49Speaker 3: wanting The Riza to produce a whole album. How were
- 2:55Speaker 3: you able to make that happen?
- 3:00Speaker 2: It was at first he wanted to come to Japan
- 3:05Speaker 2: for filming projects, okay, and he needed somebody to guide through,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you know, the community and show him places. And so
- 3:15Speaker 2: I got in touch with them and we started talking
- 3:18Speaker 2: and he was like he found out that I'm from Okinawa,
- 3:23Speaker 2: which is the birthplace of karate, like mister Miyagi.
- 3:28Speaker 3: That's where it's Oh, I mean you have the wax
- 3:31Speaker 3: on wax off song.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I do karate too, you do karate? Nice?
- 3:37Speaker 3: Are you? Like what belt? Are you?
- 3:39Speaker 4: Black? First degree black belt?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Let's be clear, she came with no security because she
- 3:45Speaker 3: does not need it.
- 3:47Speaker 4: No, I'm just playing. But yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 2: And also I was married to American.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Who he was like a five percent right obviously is
- 3:59Speaker 3: very much like a part of the you know, the nation. Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And so when we were started, like when we started talking,
- 4:06Speaker 2: he was like, you know your like lessons, you got
- 4:10Speaker 2: knowledge yourself. I said, yes, please, you know the god
- 4:15Speaker 2: you know who passed away, you know, taught me all
- 4:18Speaker 2: of these lessons. And and so he was like.
- 4:23Speaker 3: All right, you're different right where you been at.
- 4:30Speaker 4: On the other side of the world.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Like, you know, I've been holding on to this knowledge
- 4:35Speaker 2: and and like living my life accordingly and making my
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, achievements in life.
- 4:43Speaker 4: He was like, all right, this is something that we
- 4:46Speaker 4: have to tell the world.
- 4:48Speaker 3: You have a very unique story for sure. Yeah. So
- 4:52Speaker 3: he was just like, because musically, is it intimidating.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Too, because there, you know, it was intimidated at first,
- 5:01Speaker 2: but then I was like, you know, I have to
- 5:05Speaker 2: get through it. And I understand why people wouldn't like
- 5:13Speaker 2: go through with it, like because it's a it's a.
- 5:16Speaker 4: It's like a training process.
- 5:18Speaker 2: It's really it's really like thirty six chambers of showerling crazy.
- 5:23Speaker 4: He finished with one chamber next.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And it's not easy because he will he's he's just
- 5:30Speaker 2: the abbot, he's a master.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah, he's.
- 5:35Speaker 4: To work with me.
- 5:36Speaker 2: He don't have you know, he made all of the
- 5:39Speaker 2: all of the treatments in his life already. So it
- 5:42Speaker 2: was just me like just sticking with the master, right,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and I just I just you know, follow through with it.
- 5:52Speaker 4: But many times I just almost quit.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Really what was it about?
- 5:58Speaker 4: Like he would never say beats, you have to go
- 6:03Speaker 4: get it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it feels like he's the kind of guy that
- 6:07Speaker 3: like you're not going to get an email with just
- 6:08Speaker 3: like a drop box folder of beats to go through.
- 6:10Speaker 3: It's like, no, you have to, You've got to go.
- 6:12Speaker 3: You have to make it happen. Like the he's not
- 6:14Speaker 3: even doing Wu Tang members albums, so.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Wherever he's at, yeah, you gotta go see him, right,
- 6:23Speaker 2: And he won't even tell you to come see me.
- 6:26Speaker 4: You just gotta you, just gotta you, just gotta go, and.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Like call him like peace, I'm here right and then
- 6:32Speaker 2: he'll let he'll he'll open the gate.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Where all did you have to go?
- 6:37Speaker 4: We met in La.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Of course, yeah, of course in New York. Yeah, so
- 6:45Speaker 3: what was the like, how long I guess did it
- 6:47Speaker 3: take to complete the album? From three years? Three years?
- 6:51Speaker 3: So you've been working on so while you're putting out
- 6:54Speaker 3: other music, you have this RISD project that you're working on.
- 6:57Speaker 3: In the cut, Yeah, that's incredible.
- 7:00Speaker 4: And also.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It took a minute because it was like, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 2: all the record companies and like labels that was telling
- 7:09Speaker 2: me not to do it.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Really, Yeah, for this is such an accomplishment.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I know, it's the most honorable thing I've done in
- 7:20Speaker 2: my life. It was an honor to work with him,
- 7:24Speaker 2: and it was but before I started working with them,
- 7:28Speaker 2: when we decided to work on album, when he said like,
- 7:32Speaker 2: y'all want to produce your whole album? I was like
- 7:36Speaker 2: so excited, But then I started talking to everybody. They
- 7:41Speaker 2: were like, I don't think it's a good idea. I
- 7:43Speaker 2: don't think you could go follow through with it. I
- 7:45Speaker 2: don't think this is like like urgent sound.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Right, because I feel like, you know, what I do
- 7:52Speaker 3: feel like is like I noticed a lot of Japanese
- 7:54Speaker 3: rappers will try to chase like whatever is like hot
- 7:58Speaker 3: in America at the moment, and sometimes it feels like
- 8:01Speaker 3: a little inorganic. So like when I listen to your album,
- 8:03Speaker 3: I was like, yo, this ship is like, first of all,
- 8:06Speaker 3: a whole album produced by the Reds. As a Wu
- 8:07Speaker 3: Tang fan, this is a big deal. We don't get
- 8:10Speaker 3: we don't get that. Yeah, but I also just feel
- 8:15Speaker 3: like it was like executed just wonderfully.
- 8:17Speaker 2: So thank you so much, thank you so much. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I just didn't want to just do it and put
- 8:23Speaker 2: it out. We went through it so many times, many beats.
- 8:26Speaker 3: And also the features dope features on the.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Appare crazy, Yeah you got and these are like the
- 8:34Speaker 2: real friendship.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Well, I know you're on Ferg's album. Yeah, we talked
- 8:38Speaker 3: about that. He told me you were on his album.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yes, man, Ferg is like really brothers and sister.
- 8:44Speaker 2: He wanted to be like next Nigo and for Real's great.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and he's on two songs in your album,
- 8:52Speaker 3: right yeah, yeah, ye shot to Ferg. Yes, Yeah, were
- 8:56Speaker 3: you at the Forest Festival out there when he performed,
- 8:59Speaker 3: I was, yeah, it was a fun time. That ship
- 9:02Speaker 3: was kind of crazy. It was crazyhout yeah, shout out
- 9:05Speaker 3: to those guys. Did you like what how did you
- 9:11Speaker 3: initially discover like Wu Tang was like, like, how did
- 9:13Speaker 3: you get up on the Wu Tang? Like as a fan?
- 9:15Speaker 4: Like my husband, your.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Husband or not your acean, your late husband, sorry because
- 9:21Speaker 3: obviously he was like he's from New York for then,
- 9:25Speaker 3: so he got did he put you up on all
- 9:27Speaker 3: the like boom back East Coast rap shit, all of
- 9:30Speaker 3: the all.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Of the guys like Bernubians or righteous teachers and like
- 9:38Speaker 2: big Daddy.
- 9:39Speaker 3: King, oh ship, so he puts you.
- 9:41Speaker 4: On and MF doom, MF doom.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Hell Yeah. Do you feel like because I feel like
- 9:48Speaker 3: that you have like a unique perspective where you're obviously
- 9:51Speaker 3: influenced by what you're influenced by, but you also you
- 9:53Speaker 3: can't help but be influenced by the real dope rap shit,
- 9:56Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Like, I feel like that
- 9:59Speaker 3: makes you pretty unique? Is there is Do you feel
- 10:01Speaker 3: like there's like a above like tell because I feel
- 10:04Speaker 3: like a lot of Americans don't understand how crazy the
- 10:08Speaker 3: music scene is in Japan, and I I can speak
- 10:13Speaker 3: from like the perspective of like we don't really have
- 10:16Speaker 3: record stores like that, but if you go to Japan,
- 10:18Speaker 3: like there's a seven story tower records. Yes, there's an
- 10:23Speaker 3: entire jpop floor. Yeah you know what I mean. Like
- 10:27Speaker 3: it's like its own music industries.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Stay bop runs on physicals, like you actually anyone's buying
- 10:36Speaker 2: buying physical CDs, cassette, tis records, the.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Vinyl record.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Yeah. You guys like still sell stuff out here. It's
- 10:49Speaker 3: like everyone's worried about Spotify numbers, and it's like, why
- 10:52Speaker 3: don't y'all try to sell with something. Do you feel
- 10:55Speaker 3: like that's like a big part of your kind of
- 10:57Speaker 3: like your uh, you know, your infrastructure as an artist,
- 11:00Speaker 3: making sure like hey I have this cold following or
- 11:02Speaker 3: this huge following in my country, I'm gonna make sure
- 11:06Speaker 3: when we drop we give them something to buy.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yep, yeah definitely, And they already are is asking me
- 11:12Speaker 2: like I get mad, damn, like when this is coming
- 11:15Speaker 2: out as a record, vinyls, we need it, we need
- 11:18Speaker 2: it coming out percent.

- 12:56Speaker 3: back to the interview for people who don't know, because
- 12:58Speaker 3: I do feel like there's a bit of like a
- 13:00Speaker 3: rent in America in terms of like where you're from.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Okinawa is obviously it's a part of Japan, but it
- 13:07Speaker 3: wasn't always a part of Japan. And I know you're
- 13:09Speaker 3: very proud of your heritage. Can you kind of give
- 13:11Speaker 3: us some.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, Now, we used to be a kingdom and
- 13:15Speaker 2: then we had like Japan came to take over and
- 13:22Speaker 2: became part of Japan. But after World War Two Japan
- 13:28Speaker 2: gave okay now to America.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, for like thirty years or something that.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, the forties to the seventies.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And so that's where our bases are over there, right, yeah, yeah, all.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Of the bases is in Okay.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Now, so my parents' era was America and my era
- 13:46Speaker 2: we still have like heavy concentration on the US military
- 13:49Speaker 2: and heavy heavy influence.
- 13:53Speaker 4: By Americans, and.
- 13:55Speaker 2: We as a child, we look up to all of that, right,
- 13:59Speaker 2: you know what I mean? And always like the festival.
- 14:04Speaker 2: They're doing festivals, big PiZZ of big ice cream, the music,
- 14:08Speaker 2: big personality.
- 14:09Speaker 3: You guys are eating hot dogs and pizzage, French fries and.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Minds is the blue zone area?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Do you know? That blue zone is the area in
- 14:19Speaker 2: the on the planet where people live. Average people lived
- 14:24Speaker 2: two hundred over a hundred for everybody. There's like my
- 14:28Speaker 2: grandmother was one hundred and two, my grandfather was one
- 14:32Speaker 2: hundred and four. Past Why do you think that is
- 14:36Speaker 2: the diet before American game right before you.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Guys got implemented with French fries and hot dogs, not.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Anymore, I guess, But was the diet because it was
- 14:47Speaker 2: the seaweed.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Seaweed. That's the key, is the seaweed.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I think seaweed and the fact that we eat everything.
- 14:56Speaker 4: And a nice balance. We do eat meat and right,
- 15:02Speaker 4: but everything is in the Golden balance.
- 15:07Speaker 3: I do feel like because we are in like the
- 15:10Speaker 3: obesity capital of the world. You see that, Well, I.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Was just at the restaurant over there, like down the streets, sizes,
- 15:19Speaker 2: the portions.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just crazy. And then it's like, but it's
- 15:22Speaker 3: also like when you go to like Asia, anywhere in Asia,
- 15:25Speaker 3: like Japan specifically, the food just tastes so clean. Yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: like there's like no preservatives like our shit. Like if
- 15:33Speaker 3: you leave a McDonald's burger out in America, it'll look
- 15:37Speaker 3: the same after two years if you just left a yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 3: because it's blessing.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:41Speaker 3: And then McDonald's in Japan or like Thailand tastes so good.
- 15:45Speaker 3: It's like tastes the same, but it feels like, yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 3: it doesn't sit on you as heavy. How do you
- 15:51Speaker 3: feel like the because I do feel like it is
- 15:55Speaker 3: always an uphill battle to be an artist, not even
- 15:59Speaker 3: necessary specifically Japan, but just anywhere that isn't the US
- 16:04Speaker 3: or Canada. Canada's broken through because a drink. But what
- 16:08Speaker 3: is that uphill battle like trying to get acceptance in
- 16:12Speaker 3: the States, And is it something you even care about?
- 16:14Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I do care, and I do express this
- 16:19Speaker 2: concern of being judged because I'm an Asian woman that
- 16:25Speaker 2: my artistry is not worth checking right or.
- 16:31Speaker 4: And people will.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Be like, yeah, you know, for the dumbest reason, people
- 16:36Speaker 2: do judge you and they're not gonna take you seriously.
- 16:40Speaker 2: But you just got to show up and talk to people.
- 16:43Speaker 2: And all of the people that you personally met and
- 16:46Speaker 2: talked to whore put in the notes like there's a
- 16:50Speaker 2: real one, right you gotta you know, I've been traveling,
- 16:53Speaker 2: so all of the record label was telling me no,
- 16:57Speaker 2: so we went independent.
- 16:59Speaker 3: So right now this album's independent. Yes, Wow, that's big. Yes, Yes,
- 17:04Speaker 3: So I've.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Been you know, because I do. I know a little
- 17:07Speaker 2: bit of karate. I'll just be moving by myself.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Well, if you're a black, you're a black. I don't
- 17:11Speaker 3: know if you know a little bit. It sounds like,
- 17:13Speaker 3: you know a lot of a lot of it.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I travel about myself and like you know, knock on
- 17:17Speaker 2: people's door life.
- 17:18Speaker 3: So you move around mostly solo. Yeah, Like, at what
- 17:23Speaker 3: age did you pick up the karate thing? Was that
- 17:25Speaker 3: like early early in life.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Or yeah, in junior high school so probably like thirteen, Wow,
- 17:34Speaker 2: well thirteen.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Did you like go to tournaments and all that.
- 17:39Speaker 4: One time. My my style, let's called matchibios.
- 17:44Speaker 2: You do wasn't really big on like fighting, but the
- 17:48Speaker 2: kata okay, the actual battles okay was not really our thing,
- 17:54Speaker 2: but like really.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Expertise and you know, kata is like the movement.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Yeah I know, yeah, yeh yeah, yea, yeah yeah yeah
- 18:03Speaker 3: yeah that's dope. Yeah, So I feel like, yeah, you
- 18:08Speaker 3: that's why it's so dope that you've got to work
- 18:09Speaker 3: with the Rizz of Theriz is like and I took

- 23:52Speaker 3: Me, and and he never that's that's wild.
- 23:54Speaker 2: And then and then and then he came to one
- 23:59Speaker 2: of my shows and I didn't even know.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Oh he came to my shows.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I didn't know his face, right, you just know he
- 24:06Speaker 3: sent you mail. Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 4: And then I was doing tours, yeah, and this on
- 24:14Speaker 4: a tour.
- 24:15Speaker 2: One of the tours, the security was not like it
- 24:18Speaker 2: was like weak. And then you know a lot of
- 24:22Speaker 2: people it was just like friends, friends, friends, and he
- 24:25Speaker 2: had like crazy fashion and like I didn't know. I
- 24:29Speaker 2: thought it was somebody's friends, but he was just right
- 24:31Speaker 2: there and he started talking crazy to my friend, my
- 24:37Speaker 2: rapper friend. So everybody didn't like he started. They started
- 24:41Speaker 2: thinking like who is this guy? And the security came
- 24:44Speaker 2: and talked to him. Nobody knew ab knew about him,
- 24:48Speaker 2: and and they took him out and they told me
- 24:54Speaker 2: about it later.
- 24:55Speaker 3: They were like, that's the dude, right.
- 24:58Speaker 2: And then at the same time, my mom received another
- 25:02Speaker 2: male and then she always sent me the picture of
- 25:06Speaker 2: these males and one of the one of the papers
- 25:09Speaker 2: had his.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Face picture.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Oh, so then you were like, I remember that guy.
- 25:16Speaker 4: So I don't know their face, right, I don't know
- 25:19Speaker 4: his face.
- 25:20Speaker 2: But I was just talking to my friend about on
- 25:23Speaker 2: some other ship I have a stalker, like and then
- 25:27Speaker 2: he just sent me a picture of his face and
- 25:29Speaker 2: I show it to my friend. They were like, that's
- 25:32Speaker 2: the guy that was their actual tar.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Oh hell no.
- 25:39Speaker 4: They gave me chills.
- 25:40Speaker 3: So what happened? And then, guys, what happened next?
- 25:43Speaker 4: He came to my parents' house.
- 25:47Speaker 3: This is crazy. It sounds like a horror movie about that.
- 25:49Speaker 4: He came to my parents.
- 25:51Speaker 2: He came to my parents' house after after he got
- 25:54Speaker 2: after he got arrested in Okinawa. He was he was
- 25:58Speaker 2: like sending me mails from other places in Japan, but
- 26:02Speaker 2: then he got into to Okinawa and he got arrested
- 26:07Speaker 2: right away.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I don't know why, but.
- 26:08Speaker 2: The police called called me because he was speaking of
- 26:17Speaker 2: my name. So the police found out my contact information
- 26:22Speaker 2: and contact and like do you know this guy? He's
- 26:25Speaker 2: claiming that he's your husband? What I don't know him
- 26:30Speaker 2: and I don't know, Like why is why is he arrested?
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's fucking crazy?
- 26:35Speaker 4: But after he broke, after he got out of the jail,
- 26:41Speaker 4: he came right to my house so the police let
- 26:45Speaker 4: him go. Was this recently, m like last year?
- 26:49Speaker 3: Oh? Ship? So like, are you do you have a
- 26:53Speaker 3: do you guys have restraining orders?
- 26:54Speaker 4: Out there?
- 26:54Speaker 3: Like out here for him, for him we do, so
- 26:57Speaker 3: he's not like if he comes near you, he's going
- 26:58Speaker 3: to jail. Yeah that's wild. You may have to get
- 27:01Speaker 3: some fucking karate on that dude. Yeah, that ship is wild. Yeah. Yo,
- 27:05Speaker 3: I went to this place while I was in Tokyo.
- 27:12Speaker 3: I ended up going to like not by choice, by
- 27:14Speaker 3: the way, I got dragged to like this bar, right,
- 27:19Speaker 3: but I think it's like y'all call him hostess bars.
- 27:22Speaker 3: So I'm staying in Shinjuku, the Godzilla Hotel, and like
- 27:28Speaker 3: all around the hotel there's just like buildings with like
- 27:32Speaker 3: anime looking chicks on the on the on the building,
- 27:35Speaker 3: or like dudes who look like chicks kind of with
- 27:39Speaker 3: the makeups. Yeah, And I'm like, what the hell is
- 27:43Speaker 3: going on here? And then we ended up going to
- 27:45Speaker 3: somewhere in like Shabu, Yeah, and we going to this
- 27:47Speaker 3: bar to go meet some dude and it's like a
- 27:50Speaker 3: bunch of Japanese businessmen in there with girls and I'm like,
- 27:55Speaker 3: where the fuck. Shout out to my guy Taka. He
- 27:57Speaker 3: brought me down.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But it was just it.
- 28:00Speaker 3: There's like these I guess there is a strip club
- 28:02Speaker 3: in Japan, but there's mostly these like I guess they're
- 28:05Speaker 3: hosts of.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Hostess host club or hostess club, but.
- 28:08Speaker 3: There's bars club like women will go and hang out
- 28:11Speaker 3: with these the buildings they kind of look like from
- 28:14Speaker 3: like boy bands.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Yeah, like, yeah, it's kind of crazy. It's like its
- 28:19Speaker 3: own thing. I've never seen that before.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a weird culture. It was just a weird culture,
- 28:24Speaker 2: but it has it's a multi multi like a billion
- 28:28Speaker 2: market in Japan. Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Like my boy was like, he's like, you don't understand.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Like he's like like these dudes are like kind of
- 28:35Speaker 3: like a thing. He's like, there's like girls who like
- 28:38Speaker 3: travel to like hang out with them at this bar
- 28:41Speaker 3: to talk them. And it looked like chicks kind of Yeah,
- 28:44Speaker 3: they got makeup.
- 28:46Speaker 4: It's hipop champagne for them, yeah and everything. I love
- 28:51Speaker 4: going there. It's fun. It's funny.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 3: I had an interesting time where we were drinking and
- 28:56Speaker 3: like we met with some dude and I was just
- 28:58Speaker 3: like I just like people watching, like, yeah, this is different.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I've ever seen this before. Do you live still in
- 29:07Speaker 3: Okinawa or you in Tokyo. You're in Tokyo, Okay. Yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 3: it's one of the greatest places in the world. The
- 29:12Speaker 3: best shopping ever. Yeah, oh my god. I went to
- 29:15Speaker 3: the Babe Store and I almost fucking I was like,
- 29:19Speaker 3: this is this is this is a problem. I'd go,
- 29:21Speaker 3: what's that big store with all the stories like that?
- 29:25Speaker 3: They're everywhere, the stories. It's like the story you could
- 29:30Speaker 3: buy anything? You could buy anything.
- 29:32Speaker 4: There was it called oh donkey.
- 29:37Speaker 3: No, It's like you know what the don't yeah donkey yeah,
- 29:40Speaker 3: donkey yeah, Joe. I'd go in there and bought me
- 29:43Speaker 3: a fucking suitcase because I bought so much ship.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what they do.
- 29:47Speaker 3: That store is so crazy because you could buy like anything.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I mean I turned a corner and there was a
- 29:53Speaker 3: sex toy file and almost like you what? And then
- 29:57Speaker 3: like seven feet away they have like a bunch of
- 30:00Speaker 3: us Louis Vaiton person right, and I'm like this, this
- 30:05Speaker 3: is interesting. Yeah, that's the that story. Shots of that story.

- 30:50Speaker 3: Follow and when you're in Las Vegas and make sure
- 30:52Speaker 3: you shoot them a visit. How did you losing your
- 30:55Speaker 3: husband like kind of affect your artistry? And just like
- 30:58Speaker 3: obviously I can only imagine and like you know, raising
- 31:02Speaker 3: a kid and you know, dealing with all that on
- 31:04Speaker 3: your own. How did that affect you?
- 31:09Speaker 2: It was like when I when I got married and
- 31:12Speaker 2: like living as a mom and a wife, I already
- 31:16Speaker 2: kind of gave up on like music. I didn't think
- 31:21Speaker 2: it would go anywhere. I was still making demos sometime
- 31:24Speaker 2: going to the studio or always writing, always writing, but
- 31:28Speaker 2: I didn't think it would be it would go anywhere.
- 31:31Speaker 2: So when he passed away, I went in like a
- 31:38Speaker 2: depression for maybe two years, but I kept on writing.
- 31:43Speaker 2: So writing was my therapy at that time.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Like when you guys got married, were you already making
- 31:49Speaker 3: music or yeah I was.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I was rapping already, and he was always telling me like,
- 31:53Speaker 2: don't quit, like you got to keep going, but I
- 31:56Speaker 2: just didn't think.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I just couldn't think of it to be a real life.
- 32:02Speaker 2: So after he passed away, I was writing, writing, writing,
- 32:07Speaker 2: and like constant QNA with myself, like do I want
- 32:11Speaker 2: to discontinue my life as well? Or what are we
- 32:15Speaker 2: going to do about Toyomi and my daughter? But then
- 32:19Speaker 2: I realized if I'm going to live because at that time,
- 32:23Speaker 2: I was already living with my parents for two years
- 32:26Speaker 2: not doing anything.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I just didn't the depression.
- 32:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I just didn't have the energy.
- 32:35Speaker 2: But also I didn't have nothing to lose at that time.
- 32:38Speaker 2: So if I don't have anything to lose and I
- 32:41Speaker 2: want to continue living, what do.
- 32:43Speaker 4: You really want to do? And I said, I want
- 32:46Speaker 4: to do what I love, which is writing lyrics and
- 32:50Speaker 4: doing music.
- 32:52Speaker 3: And so.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I decided to give back on my music and I
- 32:58Speaker 2: promised my daughter like and get back on music. And
- 33:01Speaker 2: she was like, do it, And I told her I
- 33:04Speaker 2: would be the best. How did she was like she
- 33:09Speaker 2: was three when he passed away, so she was like
- 33:12Speaker 2: five years old, but she was She was the one
- 33:16Speaker 2: person who helped me through it, like he even my
- 33:20Speaker 2: parents was trying to like get me out of the.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Bed to like you gotta go get in the world.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Yeah, she was like, no, my mom needs to rest.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Don't talk like to my mom.
- 33:32Speaker 2: She's like, you know, she's sad, but she's just she's
- 33:36Speaker 2: the girl who you know, took the took the biggest loss,
- 33:42Speaker 2: which she was so supportive of me, and she kind
- 33:46Speaker 2: of pushed me to live again. So that kind of
- 33:50Speaker 2: the fact that I was given the second chance was
- 33:54Speaker 2: my motivation to kind.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Of go all out and it's worked out beautifully.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, what has been being independent like so far with
- 34:03Speaker 3: this project because you kind of got to do everything right.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Yeah, And I've tried independent, I've tried major label you
- 34:13Speaker 2: know thing, but it's it's way more ah work. But
- 34:21Speaker 2: at the same time, it's much more fun rewarding to rewarding. Yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 2: and you don't have to like check with the people
- 34:30Speaker 2: who don't listen to your music or who don't even
- 34:32Speaker 2: know your your your your music.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Right or your audience or yeah, they don't really know,
- 34:39Speaker 3: but they have to give me.
- 34:41Speaker 2: They had to give me a goal sign, right, because
- 34:45Speaker 2: you want to do a project, you want to use
- 34:47Speaker 2: that budget.
- 34:48Speaker 4: But if you don't have to do that, it's maybe
- 34:51Speaker 4: I'm working.
- 34:52Speaker 2: With a smaller budget. But it's way more like people
- 34:56Speaker 2: are hands on all my all my team.
- 34:59Speaker 4: I probably have like three people on my team.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Wow, you guys getting a lot done with three people.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but they know about me left and like inside out.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it's important, like because I feel
- 35:14Speaker 3: like sometimes labels will like just want to work with
- 35:16Speaker 3: you because they see numbers, but they don't understand not
- 35:20Speaker 3: like they don't understand the artists. They're just like, oh this,
- 35:23Speaker 3: there's there's money here, so let's figure it out and
- 35:25Speaker 3: let's try to you know.
- 35:27Speaker 4: The only thing they tell you, like, do do the
- 35:29Speaker 4: ship that that you did that selled?
- 35:31Speaker 2: Right?
- 35:33Speaker 3: What if I want to do album?
- 35:37Speaker 2: So it's like I want to do more invent like
- 35:41Speaker 2: like innovative stuff and do something I have to plant.
