- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: Today, I'm joined by Joel Solomon, known as the Prosperity Coach.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_03]: Joel is a TEDx speaker, best-selling author of Mindful Money Management, the nine money rules millioners use,
- 0:56[SPEAKER_03]: and infinite love and money.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_03]: Through his books, talks and coaching, Joel has helped people all over the world shift their relationship with money, manifest abundance, and live more fulfilling lives.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: His clients and members have manifested millions using his techniques, and his mission is rooted in showing the prosperity as possible for everyone when aligned with love and purpose.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_03]: Joel, welcome to Daily Influence.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for having me today.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's really a joy and a pleasure on it to be here today.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for being here.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_03]: Can you share a bit about your background and what led you to where you are today from a career and finance and becoming a prosperity coach and writing three best-selling books?
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I started my career as an actuary at an insurance company coding and not really loving my days.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I was spending my evenings and weekends analyzing and then investing in stocks.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I realized if I could ever align my hobby and my career, it would be fun and not work.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: And so I went about the process of doing that by reaching out, taking a baby step, reaching out to actuaries on Wall Street and asking them how they got there.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I got consensus.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: don't change your day job.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: You have the best job in the country, don't move.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: You have no experience.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: You have no MBA in finance, just stay there.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: And so a lot of rejection.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: Finally, I think it must have been the hundredth call.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: I found a guy who gave me his path to Wall Street.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I followed it mostly.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Took me 15 years.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: Got a job as a hedge fund manager at City Group in 2008.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: Greg, you may remember the year 2008.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: I know you're quite young, but you may remember it as the worst year in stock market investing in the last 50 years.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: The market was down 40% financial institutions
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're down 57% and those were the only companies I was invested in, and no I had nothing to do with it.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_02]: I swear, nothing.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: I did manage to make a few percent that year for City Group shareholders and then the bed of the next year and might actually still be there, but there was a law that was passed that banks can't own hedge funds and so we were all laid off.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that actually gave me the kick in the butt to achieve my true dream, which was to have my own fun managing money.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: So I raised the money in 2012 and 13 and hired the old service providers that were required.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_02]: And, without a single and started managing money for, I networked individuals and institutions.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: And in December of 2015, I went to a personal development course, and two things happened there that completely changed by like, first we had a guest speaker speaking for one hour, it was a three day conference and he was speaking for one hour about stocks and stock options and when he spoke about options in particular, he made it sound easy, he said,
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need much time, you don't need much money.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: This is how the rich people get rich and options are essentially risk-free.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I was sick to my stomach.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: It was day two of the conference.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_02]: People knew that I was at a farm manager so they would tap on me on the shoulder.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was my Joel, does this make sense?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so I was polite after he was done.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: We went out of the water tour and told him, please don't do this.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: He has no idea about any of you individually, and most importantly, no idea about your belief that you could become rich using stock options.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: And the second thing that happened at that course was we were given a wooden board to inches thick and we were told we're gonna break it with our bare hand.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: Have you done it, Greg?
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, I haven't.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: So the exercise was called obstacles or illusions and on one side of the board we had a writer biggest obstacle and then on the other side our ultimate goal which stumped me for a while and then it hit me.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: Make everyone in this room financially free.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: make everyone in this room, financially free.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then I broke the board like the other 200 people in the room when home that night I couldn't sleep.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: And first the guy was in my head.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I realized if I could ever get up the courage to speak on a stage, my biggest fear that day was public speaking, I could be of service, not lie to people, tell the truth about money.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: And then the second thing going on in my head at 3.34 in the morning was that wooden board staring back at me, make everyone in this room financially free.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think it hit me at 4.30.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: I jumped out of bed.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: I quickly got dressed.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: I was at my office in Midtown Manhattan before the sun rose.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: I sent an email to my investors telling them, I'm giving them their money back.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm shutting down my fund.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: I figured out my true purpose in life.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_02]: And so, that's what I'm doing now, helping people become financially free, teaching them how to change their money mindset from thoughts like, I can't afford that money doesn't grow on trees.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's too expensive to thoughts of abundance and prosperity.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_02]: I teach people about manifesting money, and they also teach them about investing in the stock market.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: True New Yorker Britt, you have Joel.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_03]: Can you tell us about a moment or experience where you've felt you made a positive impact on someone's life?
- 7:00[SPEAKER_03]: You know, one of those times you can really see your influence in action.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great question.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: I have a number of examples.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think the most telling example was PJ came to me really struggling.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: 90 dollars left in her bank account for the last six days of the month.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: She literally had a center daughter to her parents to make sure her daughter was fed.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: And so what do we do to make sure that this struggle did not define her life?
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: So, first of all, we created individualized affirmations that she could use to we program the software in our head to realize that prosperity is her birth right as she knew when she was born.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: We started acting as if she had the money, what doing techniques as if she already had the money and then we took action.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, she, I helped her find a job.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: I had to reach out to different companies.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: I have a large network and put her in touch with people so she could get her feedback on the ground and start actually getting some income because once the money starts flowing, you get more positive, more confident and you believe that you can.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I gave her real,
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: money manifestation techniques, in addition to those baby steps that she took, so that money could start flowing in other ways as well.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: And grateful to say that now she has an abundance mindset, a prosperity mindset, her daughter is living back with her, and this year she actually took a vacation.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's a beautiful story.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for sharing that.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you've helped people manifest millions through your coaching and memberships.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: What role do you believe personal responsibility plays in financial success in abundance?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: What's everything?
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because I say that you need to take four responsibility for your life.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: And until you do, you can't change.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, blaming others or blaming the government or the economy,
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: I will tell you in 2009, in the midst of the great recession, the financial crisis, I made multiples of what I've ever made any year in my life.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: And so there are ways to become very rich and successful in the worst of economic times with the worst governments and with all that going on in the world.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_02]: So it's really taking responsibility for your life and knowing that you have the ability to change your thoughts, your actions and your beliefs.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: And once you do that, your life changes.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_03]: So true, you know, you often speak about the importance
- 10:08[SPEAKER_03]: mindset and manifestation and creating prosperity.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: How do you see these principles not only improving finances, but also positively influencing relationships and communities?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I say everything is about frequency vibration and energy.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: And so there's the emotional guidance scale that Abraham takes talks about.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so, if you're down here vibrating and depression, sadness, anger, worry, and fear, then you're attracting that into your life.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're vibrating up here in joy, passion, love, appreciation, and gratitude, then you're attracting that into your life.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, that vibration of love
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: joy and appreciation is the same vibration as abundance and prosperity.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: So you're attracting that into your life as well.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_02]: So you can't get here from here, right?
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you're worried and fearful and angry at others, if you're sad and depressed,
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: You can't create the prosperity that you want in your life.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: So the first step is moving up on the emotional guidance scale.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: So obviously, when you can make changes in your own life, you're actually impacting others.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: I found in my own life that when I've increased my vibration and increased my energy and frequency, that it just impacts other people as well.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: And other people don't need to change.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: for your interaction with them to change.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: I read a great book that a buddy might recommend that 12 years ago called Radical forgiveness and Colin Tipping is the author.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: And it's all about changing your vibration, changing your energy, and putting out love into the world.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so when you do that and shifting your thoughts and your vibration and putting out love into the world, you will create more love in your life.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I talk about being a lot.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we're taught as a former hedge fund manager, we're taught to do, do, do, do, do, do, do, right?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's, do and then have and then be.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I teach the opposite.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's B do have B abundant B loving and then you'll see the love and abundance in your life that is great advice and
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: I truly believe that and agree with you, because I've seen it in my own life.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for sharing that, Joel.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_03]: You reinvented yourself and guided others through significant transformations.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_03]: What practices or mindsets just help people overcome fear and doubt when pursuing a new path in life?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great question.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's Napoleon Hill said, the,
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: the way to overcome fear is the forced repetition of acts of courage.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so step into it, I know it may sound even, but what do you fear of love?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: I used to be fearful of dogs.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: I got bit by a dog at the jugular when I was 22 years old and survived that interaction, obviously,
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: And for years, I was fearful of a puppy, right?
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: All the way up to the great things.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: And about 15 years ago, I decided to change my thoughts and actions and beliefs.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: And so I started visualizing dogs looking my face.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: I started sending out
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: vibration of love whenever I pass the dog.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: a funny thing happened, dogs started coming up to me and I would pet them and they would smile and it would be a positive interaction.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: So how are you doing that?
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: How are you overcoming your fear step into it?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I know it's that like for me public speaking as I mentioned earlier
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I realized when I wrote my first book, I needed to get out there, to promote it, and to teach people the truth about money.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: But if you had asked me when I, on December 2015, when I was at that conference, to speak in more, in front of the 200 people, I would have said, just shoot me, just just get it over with.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I stepped into overcoming that fear by joining toast masters and starting with a baby step of a four minute speech and then a five minute speech.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: And spending 20 hours memorizing that speech that five minutes speech first, but practicing and eventually I in 2017 and 2018 did over 100 speeches.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: And that's so stepping into it.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so thinking about what baby steps you can take right now.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: What's your biggest fear?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_02]: Is it fear of poverty, fear of loss, fear of...
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: homelessness.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: So what can you do to step into overcoming that fear, take some baby steps?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: What if I'm not saying I play the lottery, but what if you won the lottery twice?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: What would you do?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, take some baby steps as if that's happening.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: Go online and put some stuff in your shopping card on Amazon.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: don't buy anything, I'm not telling you to go into debt, but actually feel the feeling of abundance, right?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Be abundant before it's actually here.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: You have to be vibrating at that hard level for it to be attracting into your life.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_03]: It's such great advice.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for sharing that.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: Are you using AI in your work?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_03]: And if you are, how is it influenced the way you coach right or connect with people on their prosperity journey?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I started using AI probably four years ago when I saw it was available on Zoom to transcribe my client meetings.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I still to this day take notes yet.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_02]: And the AI that's in Zoom that I use as fat is called Fathom, that app, and it's not 100% perfect, but it's 89% of the way there.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: And so instead of me transcribing my notes and then putting them onto a computer, it's 80% of the way there.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: So it saves me probably an hour per client a week.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's one simple way.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: Another is just posting on social media.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: I will put an outline into chatGPT of what I want to talk about.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm on a recent podcast, and I want to put that video clip onto LinkedIn.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: Give me, you know, a hundred words or less about this video and done, right?
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's saving me time on social media posts, it's saving me time with my clients.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_02]: It's making me more efficient even of my five step preparatory stock screen, which is in my second book to nine money rolls million years use.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: I put it into chat GPT.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: And so now I can say check all the companies that have reported this week and see if it passed my screen.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's not 100% again, there are quirks to everything.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: And so you got a double check, but it saved me a lot of time.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, that's great.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for sharing those.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_03]: You know, until what message or words have encouraged me, would you like to share with our listeners who aspire to make a positive difference in their world?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: You know, through their own influence.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: We are our own worst enemy.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Our mindset, our beliefs, our thoughts and thoughts become things.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: So choose the good ones as Mike Dooley says.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll say hashtag doubt the doubt.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Don't have faith in you doubt.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: All right, when I wanted to become a hedge fund manager, I, if I had listened to, you know, the dozens and dozens of actuaries who told me, just stay where you are, I wouldn't be, I wouldn't have that transformation and transition to where I am today.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I probably would have hated my life, right, at least the eight or 10 hours a day for 30 years.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: And so doubt the doubt, don't, when,
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I would say it's really important to hang out with people who are supportive of you.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: So choose your friends and network companions.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: carefully, because, again, vibration is everything where they vibreating, are they aligned with you?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_02]: And if they're putting doubt, if they're not supporting your dreams and they're doubting you, I would move on.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I give this advice to my daughter recently, Lauren, by the way, my company name is named after my daughter's Lauren and Morgan.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: So Saul, Laura Moore, I was giving this advice to Lauren, recently, who a friend wasn't being the kind supportive person that I would want as a friend.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: So that's important, right?
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: So hashtag doubt the doubt, have faith in the dream.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: I love that Joel, thank you so much for joining us and sharing your wisdom.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_03]: Your journey from finance to prosperity coach really reminds us that influence isn't just about what we achieve, but it's about the positive ripple effects that we create in our lives and others' lives.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_03]: I'm so grateful for you.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_03]: If our listeners want to get in touch with you, what's the best way to do so?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: Go on to salamor.com again, it's essay, L-A-U-R-M-A-R.com.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, I give 30 minutes free prosperity coaching.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: So just put, you know, mention the show.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: and I'll give you 30 minutes and for this show only I'm going to do something special.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to give anyone who mentions mentioned this show a personalized roadmap to an extra $10,000 on the next 30 days.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_03]: Wow.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_03]: We'll put the information to show notes and the links.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_03]: Joel, I am super grateful for you.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for all you do in the all the ripples and positive ripples you're creating around the world and for being here today.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for so much for having me appreciate you.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: To our listeners, thank you for tuning into daily influence.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_03]: I hope today's conversation brought you insight and inspiration.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_03]: If it's spoke to you.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_03]: Please share it with someone who could use a little positivity today.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_03]: Remember that responsible influence starts with small choices.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_03]: Positive influence grows through service and love and individual influence comes alive when you step into your unique gifts.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_03]: Until next time, keep leading with purpose and creating impact through your daily influence.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: Bye-bye.
