- 0:49Speaker 2: something just fell. Okay, I know we have a couple
- 0:53Speaker 2: new listeners, just people who have heard some of our
- 0:57Speaker 2: more recent cases that we've shared about, cause we've been
- 1:00Speaker 2: sharing a lot that are like currently happening and stuff.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So I know we have a couple of new primers.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So if you are new here, if you wouldn't mind

- 1:22Speaker 1: Absolutely, and be kind even if it's even if it's
- 1:27Speaker 1: a what is it, constructive criticism? Just be kind.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, well we love constructive criticism, but it needs to
- 1:35Speaker 2: be constructive that that's appreciated. The like hate is not appreciate. Yeah, no,
- 1:42Speaker 2: not at all anyway.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So the case I'm going to be covering today, like
- 1:47Speaker 1: I said, I think I said, is still ongoing, So
- 1:52Speaker 1: there's there's going to be a conclusion. There's definitely going
- 1:55Speaker 1: to be a nice, big fat conclusion, but for now,
- 1:59Speaker 1: it's ongoing, and I am going to be covering the
- 2:03Speaker 1: case of Lourie Valo, Chad Dabell and Laurie's children, Tylie
- 2:12Speaker 1: and JJ. So Laurie Valo, who was born lour Cox,
- 2:18Speaker 1: was born in nineteen seventy three. In nineteen ninety two,
- 2:22Speaker 1: when she was nineteen years old, she married her high
- 2:24Speaker 1: school sweetheart, but the couple didn't last long and soon
- 2:28Speaker 1: after they got a divorce. Yeah, don't say all, I'm
- 2:33Speaker 1: just kidding. I mean, yeah, it is sad. It is sad.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But look that okay. So when Lourie was twenty two
- 2:42Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety five, she married again, and this time
- 2:45Speaker 1: she married a man named William Lagoya and they had
- 2:49Speaker 1: a son together named Colby. But soon after they too
- 2:53Speaker 1: got divorced.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Oh.
- 2:56Speaker 1: In two thousand and one, she married another man named
- 2:58Speaker 1: Joseph Ryan, and he actually adopted her son, Colby, and
- 3:04Speaker 1: then the couple went on to have a child of
- 3:06Speaker 1: their own, and her name was Tylee. Oh.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I like that name.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very original. I've never heard that name before. Yea,
- 3:13Speaker 1: It's like Kylie and Tyler.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So, in two thousand and four, however, Joseph filed for
- 3:21Speaker 1: divorce and things got pretty messy. Due to the fact
- 3:25Speaker 1: they had children, they couldn't make a clean break and
- 3:28Speaker 1: therefore couldn't agree on the terms of their divorce, which
- 3:33Speaker 1: is common, I mean, unfortunately, it's you know, kids make
- 3:36Speaker 1: things a little bit more difficult, and to make matters worse,
- 3:42Speaker 1: Joseph was attacked by Laurie's brother Alex in twenty seventeen
- 3:47Speaker 1: or excuse me, two thousand and seven.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yes. Allegedly, Laurie told her brother that she and the
- 3:54Speaker 1: children were being abused and like by Joseph and made
- 4:00Speaker 1: some pretty harmful allegations against him, and Alex spent ninety
- 4:05Speaker 1: days in jail for this crime. While in jail, he
- 4:08Speaker 1: made more threats towards Joseph, such as giving his picture
- 4:12Speaker 1: an address to other inmates and saying that he was
- 4:16Speaker 1: going to have them quote unquote take care of the situation.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, the things that she was saying about Joseph,
- 4:26Speaker 1: none of it really was proven to be true. So
- 4:30Speaker 1: it was just kind of her word against his. So
- 4:33Speaker 1: keep that in your back pocket. So Laurie, Now, in
- 4:37Speaker 1: two thousand and six, she remarried again, this time to
- 4:40Speaker 1: a man named Charles Valo. Charles was a member of
- 4:44Speaker 1: the LDS community, which is the Latter Day Saints, as
- 4:48Speaker 1: was Laurie. And Charles had two sons from a previous relationship,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and then him and Laurie actually went on to adopt
- 4:58Speaker 1: his great excuse, his grand nephew JJ. So his sister's
- 5:04Speaker 1: daughter was unable to take care of her son, and
- 5:07Speaker 1: so he offered to adopt him.
- 5:11Speaker 2: So it's his sister's grandson.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Yes, And there's there's no information as to why she
- 5:17Speaker 1: herself didn't adopt JJ, but he was on the autism spectrum.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So there was some you know, speculation that the mother
- 5:27Speaker 1: couldn't handle that, and so she kind of relinquished her rights,
- 5:30Speaker 1: which is so sad. Okay, Yeah, So then the family
- 5:33Speaker 1: moved from Arizona to Hawaii for about two years, and
- 5:38Speaker 1: then they eventually relocated back to Arizona. So Laurie was
- 5:42Speaker 1: pretty devout in her faith, and she had began reading
- 5:45Speaker 1: a series by Chad Dabel called Standing in Holy Places,
- 5:51Speaker 1: which were books basically about doomsday, end of times, all
- 5:57Speaker 1: in a religious fashion. From all accounts, Laurie became pretty
- 6:01Speaker 1: obsessed with the series and as a result, she began
- 6:04Speaker 1: to follow some subgroups of the LDS church. However, a
- 6:09Speaker 1: lot of these teachings were not recognized by the LDS community,
- 6:14Speaker 1: Like it was pretty extreme stuff and some of it
- 6:18Speaker 1: was just really off the wall, and the LDS community
- 6:23Speaker 1: later said, like, we didn't at all support those teachings
- 6:26Speaker 1: or those learnings or anything. Right, So Laurie got really
- 6:31Speaker 1: into a woman named Julie Rowe who was a podcaster
- 6:34Speaker 1: and a self proclaimed clairvoyant. She was also in the
- 6:38Speaker 1: LDS community, and this Julie character was also in close
- 6:44Speaker 1: ties with Chad Davel, the author of the series that
- 6:47Speaker 1: I was mentioning before. Okay, so you can see why
- 6:51Speaker 1: Laurie probably got really into her because she was really
- 6:53Speaker 1: into those books, right, But due to Julie's radical beliefs
- 6:59Speaker 1: and teaching, she was actually actually exiled from the LDS Church,
- 7:04Speaker 1: which is a pretty big deal. Yeah, So between these
- 7:08Speaker 1: two things, I feel like this sent Laurie into a
- 7:10Speaker 1: spiral of disturbing thoughts and behaviors. And Chad he was
- 7:18Speaker 1: kind of on the same wavelength wavelength mentally, like he
- 7:22Speaker 1: was really into some of that radical teaching, but he
- 7:26Speaker 1: was married and had five kids and lived in Idaho,
- 7:29Speaker 1: so you know, there wasn't a lot of back and forth,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you know, going on between them at all. So Chad,
- 7:37Speaker 1: as I mentioned before, he had some really radical beliefs
- 7:40Speaker 1: and he believed that he had crossed over to the
- 7:43Speaker 1: quote unquote other side due to some near death experiences
- 7:48Speaker 1: he had had, which was the same thing the Julie
- 7:51Speaker 1: Row lady had mentioned, like in her podcast and some
- 7:55Speaker 1: of her stuff that she had, you know, died and
- 7:58Speaker 1: come back to life, and that's why she was able
- 8:00Speaker 1: to have like these clairvoyant you know, gifts.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Right. I'm all for people like believing whatever they want. Yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 2: as long as it doesn't lead to harm of themselves
- 8:15Speaker 2: or others.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Right, And that's you know, My next line is literally,
- 8:20Speaker 1: don't get me wrong. I definitely believe that people have
- 8:22Speaker 1: these experiences and people can have special gifts. I definitely
- 8:28Speaker 1: think that's a real thing. But with these people, it
- 8:31Speaker 1: just sounds like they were looking for attention and so
- 8:34Speaker 1: they were kind of making up some stuff or maybe
- 8:36Speaker 1: they believed it in their own heads. I don't know,
- 8:38Speaker 1: but they kind of went off the deep end with
- 8:40Speaker 1: this information. So extremists in any group, any group can
- 8:46Speaker 1: often leave to not good outcomes and circumstances. So yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: within his extremist community, Chad became a bit of a
- 8:54Speaker 1: celebrity due to his you know books that he had
- 8:57Speaker 1: written in his tellings of his you know crossing over
- 9:01Speaker 1: to the other side, and he had a lot of
- 9:04Speaker 1: stories and people often referred to his group as a
- 9:08Speaker 1: quote unquote doomsday cult. Oh God, which when you start
- 9:13Speaker 1: throwing around that cult word, that brings a whole new
- 9:17Speaker 1: light to whatever you're trying to do. It doesn't sound good.
- 9:21Speaker 2: This is giving me vibes of have you watched The
- 9:23Speaker 2: Sinner on Netflix?
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yes, that was such a good show.
- 9:28Speaker 2: The one season that's like I think you're actually the
- 9:31Speaker 2: one told me to watch it, but the one season
- 9:34Speaker 2: where it was like the one guy. Yeah, like this
- 9:38Speaker 2: is giving me those vibes.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Okay, So back to Laurie again. It's now twenty eighteen
- 9:45Speaker 1: and Joseph, which is Laurie's ex and Tylee's biological father,
- 9:50Speaker 1: was found dead in his apartment. Oh my god. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: a neighbor had smelt a rancid smell and called police. Yeah,
- 10:01Speaker 1: they actually had to he had an additional lock on
- 10:05Speaker 1: his door, so like he rented an apartment, and you know,
- 10:08Speaker 1: typically you just use the locks of the apartment had,
- 10:10Speaker 1: but he had installed his own lock, and so they
- 10:13Speaker 1: were unable to get into his apartment. So they had
- 10:15Speaker 1: to actually get a ladder and climb up to his
- 10:17Speaker 1: balcony and like break through the balcony door. I guess
- 10:21Speaker 1: it was unlocked maybe to enter the apartment. And when
- 10:24Speaker 1: they entered the apartment, they found Joseph's body which was
- 10:28Speaker 1: severely decomposed, like bugs had entered and everything.
- 10:34Speaker 2: That's so disgusting.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so during his autopsy, it was discovered that he
- 10:40Speaker 1: had had a heart attack, and soon after he was cremated.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Okay, so he died of a heart attack.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah. His life insurance policy went to Laurie until Tyler
- 10:54Speaker 1: was old enough to collect for herself, which is common,
- 10:57Speaker 1: you know, right in that situation. But there was a
- 11:01Speaker 1: lot of speculation that she immediately used the money. And
- 11:05Speaker 1: it's worth noting that there was actually a recording of
- 11:08Speaker 1: Lori during a teaching at her church stating how she
- 11:12Speaker 1: was going to murder Joseph but had decided to turn
- 11:15Speaker 1: that anger into energy for her faith.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Okay, I'm pretty sure any time you say I'm going
- 11:23Speaker 2: to murder somebody that that can be used as like,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you know, evidence suspicion.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Absolutely, But I guess it never went anywhere because
- 11:31Speaker 1: I mean, he had a heart attack, which you can
- 11:33Speaker 1: make people have heart attacks. True, So I don't know,
- 11:36Speaker 1: But due to the fact that his body was decomposed
- 11:39Speaker 1: and cremated, there was really nothing more they could look
- 11:42Speaker 1: into concerning the events of his death. Plus he was
- 11:45Speaker 1: fifty nine at the time, so they just were like,
- 11:48Speaker 1: it's probably in a hostile Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a question, did they think at all
- 11:55Speaker 2: that it was suspicious that he was cremated.
- 11:57Speaker 1: No, that was his wishes at the time.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay, gotcha.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So in twenty eighteen, Lauri goes to this event in
- 12:04Speaker 1: Utah called Preparing the People, and there she finally got
- 12:08Speaker 1: to meet Chad day Belle Dum. I know. Chad had
- 12:13Speaker 1: a book stand there, and Laurie went right up to
- 12:16Speaker 1: him and introduced herself. They clicked immediately. Chad actually told
- 12:21Speaker 1: Laurie that they had been married many times in their
- 12:25Speaker 1: past lives, which I guess is something common in the
- 12:30Speaker 1: LDS faith, that you are born again over and over.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Right, and then you like marry the same person.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Well, I think you have different lives. So I guess
- 12:42Speaker 1: he's saying that, like because of his special gifts, he
- 12:45Speaker 1: knows that they were married before. Okay, as different people
- 12:50Speaker 1: in different lives.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Okay, to each their own. Everybody can believe what they
- 12:55Speaker 2: want to believe.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if that's what you believe. I just
- 12:58Speaker 1: didn't know for sure if that was like like actually
- 13:00Speaker 1: something that they believed, or if that was just what
- 13:03Speaker 1: one source said, you know, So if I'm wrong, I'm sorry,
- 13:06Speaker 1: but that's what my source said. Okay, and I will
- 13:10Speaker 1: have all the sources linked down in the show notes.
- 13:13Speaker 2: So yeah, which, by the way, I heard on Morbid
- 13:16Speaker 2: the other day that they were saying that a lot
- 13:17Speaker 2: of people don't know what the show notes are, so
- 13:19Speaker 2: they were explaining it. So I thought that it would
- 13:21Speaker 2: be a good idea to just explain the show notes are,
- 13:24Speaker 2: like the description. Oh yeah, your podcast app I didn't
- 13:28Speaker 2: you know. I mean, it makes sense. I didn't know
- 13:30Speaker 2: what show notes were before I listened to podcasts, and
- 13:32Speaker 2: that's what the Morbid hosts were saying, and I was like,
- 13:34Speaker 2: you know what, that would be a good thing to
- 13:36Speaker 2: say on our podcast. So yeah, if you didn't know,
- 13:38Speaker 2: that's how you get the show notes.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah, scroll the way down to the episode, like in
- 13:42Speaker 1: the episode and it'll be down there. Then later in
- 13:46Speaker 1: that same year, there was another event the same preparing
- 13:50Speaker 1: the people type event. This time, however, it was in Arizona,
- 13:54Speaker 1: and since Laurie Laurie's then husband Charles was out of town,
- 13:59Speaker 1: Laurie invited and another friend of hers, Melanie and She'll
- 14:03Speaker 1: come up a lot in the story, to stay with
- 14:06Speaker 1: her at her home during the event. Melanie reported that
- 14:09Speaker 1: Laurie and Chad spent a lot of a long time
- 14:12Speaker 1: together during this trip, and she had some suspicions. So
- 14:17Speaker 1: in January of twenty nineteen, while Charles was out of
- 14:21Speaker 1: town for work, Laurie finally decides to leave Charles. But
- 14:25Speaker 1: this bitch I would have been, I would have So
- 14:32Speaker 1: she canceled his flight home, and then she took thirty
- 14:37Speaker 1: five thousand dollars out of their joint bank account, which
- 14:41Speaker 1: was basically all the money that they had. He was
- 14:43Speaker 1: left with like ten dollars to his freaking name. Oh
- 14:46Speaker 1: my god. Yeah. So she also took the children, Hyley
- 14:51Speaker 1: and JJ which Tylie was her daughter and you know,
- 14:54Speaker 1: JJ was the adopted child that they had together, and
- 14:57Speaker 1: her oldest son, Colby, which I mentioned at the beginning
- 15:00Speaker 1: of the story. He was already grown and out of
- 15:02Speaker 1: the home at this point, so he was doing his
- 15:03Speaker 1: own thing. Somehow, Charles managed to get home and he
- 15:07Speaker 1: immediately called the police, and he soon realized not only
- 15:10Speaker 1: had she wiped their bank account, but she also took
- 15:14Speaker 1: everything out of their home, so just all around shitty, yeah, shitty, shitty, shitty.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Charles was worried about the safety of the children, and
- 15:23Speaker 1: he called the police to basically do a well check
- 15:25Speaker 1: on Lourie, because Laurie had been displaying some behaviors that
- 15:28Speaker 1: were concerning to Charles to go along with like her
- 15:31Speaker 1: radical beliefs and stuff, which he was not like hip
- 15:34Speaker 1: to at all. He wasn't down for all that madness.
- 15:37Speaker 1: He told police that Laurie had said, quote, I'm going
- 15:40Speaker 1: to kill you. You're going to be murdered today or tomorrow, hey,
- 15:45Speaker 1: which I guess she had like kind of claimed that
- 15:48Speaker 1: like God or you know, whoever she believes in or
- 15:53Speaker 1: worships or whatever, had like told her that.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Again to each your own, Well.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't think the God that I
- 16:04Speaker 1: worship tells people to kill people, because that's just not
- 16:07Speaker 1: like the right thing to do. You're supposed to be
- 16:08Speaker 1: like a good person, and killing people is not a
- 16:10Speaker 1: good thing at all. But she was kind of, you know,
- 16:14Speaker 1: all for Rocker at this point, Okay. Laurie also tells
- 16:17Speaker 1: police that Charles had been cheating on her and that
- 16:20Speaker 1: he was abusive, and Charles immediately rushed to the police
- 16:23Speaker 1: department to meet with the police, and he had asked
- 16:27Speaker 1: them over the phone to do like a mental health
- 16:29Speaker 1: check on Laurie. And so he when he got there,
- 16:31Speaker 1: he double checked to see if they were going to
- 16:33Speaker 1: do that. The police had also reached out to Laurie
- 16:36Speaker 1: and Charles's LDS bishop, who had witnessed and confirmed Laurie's
- 16:42Speaker 1: concerning behaviors. However, he had no evidence at that time
- 16:45Speaker 1: that she was making any threats to herself, the kids,
- 16:48Speaker 1: or Charles. And Laurie was not taken that day for
- 16:51Speaker 1: the mental health evaluation. However, it is documented that a
- 16:55Speaker 1: couple of days later she admitted herself and she passed
- 16:57Speaker 1: the evaluation with flying colors, which is like.
- 17:01Speaker 2: How, of course, how that reminds me of Josh Powell
- 17:06Speaker 2: and he did like a court mandated evaluation and that
- 17:11Speaker 2: that evaluator determined nothing was wrong and he ended up
- 17:14Speaker 2: murdering his two sons. So like, you know, I mean,
- 17:17Speaker 2: they're doing they're just doing their jobs and from their job,
- 17:21Speaker 2: like from their what.
- 17:22Speaker 1: They're checking off to do, right, Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 2: But you never know, people can be very good manipulators
- 17:29Speaker 2: and hide stuff and yeah.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Yep, you're right. So in February of twenty nineteen, Charles
- 17:35Speaker 1: filed for divorce from Laurie, and he also filed for
- 17:38Speaker 1: temporary custody of JJ. I don't think he adopted Tyly,
- 17:42Speaker 1: so fortunately, there wasn't much he could do concerning her.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He also requested that the money his and JJ's belongings
- 17:49Speaker 1: all be returned. But at this point, Laurie was currently
- 17:52Speaker 1: MI I A and she stayed MIA which is missing
- 17:56Speaker 1: in action, for almost two months. I think it was
- 18:00Speaker 1: like fifty seven or fifty eight days something like that. Okay,
- 18:05Speaker 1: no one could get in touch with her, no one
- 18:07Speaker 1: knew where she was. She was just poof right into dinner. Luckily, though,
- 18:11Speaker 1: at this time, JJ was in the care of Charles
- 18:13Speaker 1: and Tylee was staying with another family member or family friend. Strangely, though,
- 18:20Speaker 1: in March of twenty nineteen, Charles decided to drop the
- 18:23Speaker 1: petition for divorce and seemingly wanted to try and reconcile
- 18:28Speaker 1: his marriage with Laurie, which like what.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Like randomly, Yeah, that's a little weird.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I mean, if it was like any other circumstances, I'd
- 18:39Speaker 1: be like, Okay, you know, give it another go give it,
- 18:43Speaker 1: you know, try it, try to make it work. But
- 18:45Speaker 1: like all she said she was going to murder her,
- 18:49Speaker 1: or said she said he was going hold on, she
- 18:52Speaker 1: said she was going to murder him, like right now,
- 18:56Speaker 1: why would you get back?
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:57Speaker 1: No, no, But due to an incident that occurred soon
- 19:01Speaker 1: after between Alex, Laurie's brother, and Charles, Charles would never
- 19:08Speaker 1: get that opportunity. According to Alex, Charles tried to attack
- 19:13Speaker 1: Alex with a baseball bat, and Alex ran and retrieved
- 19:18Speaker 1: a gun and shot Charles in the chest in quote
- 19:23Speaker 1: unquote self defense.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Ah, I see, and.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Charles succumbed to his injuries unfortunately.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Wow.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Okay. When paramedics arrived on scene, they stated that they
- 19:35Speaker 1: did not see any evidence that CPR had been performed,
- 19:38Speaker 1: which Alex had told the dispatcher over the nine one
- 19:41Speaker 1: one call he had attempted because if you give CPR
- 19:46Speaker 1: to a gunshot victim, there will be large amounts of
- 19:51Speaker 1: pooled blood and there was. There was just the pool
- 19:54Speaker 1: of blood that was expected to be there after shot.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Okay, so you wouldn't have it. There's no indication that
- 20:01Speaker 2: he had tried to save him.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Correct, And surprisingly enough, Alex is not arrested or charged
- 20:09Speaker 1: with this incident at all. Wow. And then Lourie, who
- 20:13Speaker 1: is Charles's wife, mind you, went on to have a
- 20:16Speaker 1: pool party at her home that evening, So the same home,
- 20:20Speaker 1: the same home that her husband had just been killed.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Excuse me, excuse me. Yeah, even if even if.
- 20:29Speaker 2: She didn't like him anymore, Like, somebody was just killed
- 20:33Speaker 2: in your home, you don't have a pool party. I'm sorry,
- 20:37Speaker 2: but no, no.
- 20:38Speaker 1: You don't. And it was reported by police that she
- 20:41Speaker 1: was like laughing and like joking, and she like when
- 20:46Speaker 1: they did her interview, like of the accounts that happened,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and she's like, huh, my neighbors are gonna hate us
- 20:52Speaker 1: after this. We just moved into the neighborhood.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Like what, that's not something to joke again, even if
- 20:59Speaker 2: you don't like him anymore, and you like whatever, you're
- 21:02Speaker 2: not sad that he died. Somebody was killed in your house.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Yeah, have some kouth, right. It is also reported that
- 21:13Speaker 1: Laurie notified Charles's other two adult children that their father
- 21:17Speaker 1: had died over text message and they were trying I know,
- 21:21Speaker 1: so yeah, that's pasteless, weird, Yeah, And they were like
- 21:24Speaker 1: desperately trying to get information from her and like she
- 21:27Speaker 1: just was not responding. And it suspected that the reason
- 21:31Speaker 1: why she didn't want to divulge that information to the
- 21:35Speaker 1: children is because their father's death was not what it
- 21:41Speaker 1: appeared to be and they and she knew that they
- 21:42Speaker 1: would most likely definitely want an investigation to occur.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Right, and she probably didn't want to say anything that
- 21:50Speaker 2: like wasn't what she was going to tell the police
- 21:53Speaker 2: or whatever, like, she didn't want to incriminate herself exactly.
- 21:57Speaker 1: And then Alex good all out he so this is
- 22:02Speaker 1: the second time he's attacked one of her men's.
- 22:06Speaker 2: One of her mans keeps.
- 22:07Speaker 1: That in your back pocket too. Yeah. So he left
- 22:11Speaker 1: the country and flew to Colombia for several months. So Colombia,
- 22:17Speaker 1: like the country is what do they call it, like
- 22:21Speaker 1: when you like you can't avoid extra extradition, extra extradition, extradition,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I can't say that word. Yeah. So they don't think
- 22:33Speaker 1: that's why he went there, but there was a reason
- 22:36Speaker 1: and no one ever figured it out. Oh okay, Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 1: so it was never determined why he went there, but
- 22:41Speaker 1: he went there for several months and then he came
- 22:43Speaker 1: back after Charles's death. Laurie then bolt Chad a plane ticket,
- 22:48Speaker 1: so all Chad day bill a plane ticket to Arizona
- 22:51Speaker 1: from Utah. Luckily, before Charles was killed, he changed over
- 22:56Speaker 1: his insurance policy from LORII to his sister Kay pissed
- 23:01Speaker 1: her off, but she didn't know at the time.
- 23:02Speaker 2: She found out later, Okay, So that that wouldn't necessarily
- 23:06Speaker 2: be a motive.
- 23:07Speaker 1: When he was killed, it's definitely a motive because she
- 23:11Speaker 1: thought it was still in her name.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Oh oh oh, I see yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Okay.
- 23:16Speaker 1: So, as though we don't already have you know, crazy
- 23:19Speaker 1: alarming behavior from Laurie, now we really start seeing some
- 23:23Speaker 1: very very alarming behavior from her. The first being that
- 23:27Speaker 1: Laurie tries to sell JJ's service dog. So, as I
- 23:31Speaker 1: mentioned before, like you know, JJ was on the spectrum,
- 23:34Speaker 1: and I did read in one source that he was nonverbal.
- 23:39Speaker 1: So I imagine this dog, you know, helped him tremendously,
- 23:42Speaker 1: and she tried to sell it why. I don't know.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Once we get to the end of the story, it
- 23:49Speaker 1: might make a little bit more sense. But so I
- 23:52Speaker 1: learned that if you purchase a service dog from a
- 23:54Speaker 1: rescue and want to get rid of that service dog,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you must return or sell the dog back to that
- 23:59Speaker 1: rescue you Okay, And someone in that kind of community
- 24:05Speaker 1: saw Laurie's posting about the dog and basically told her like,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you have to give it back to the to the rescue,
- 24:11Speaker 1: and she did at least she did something right, thankfully. Yeah. Well,
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think she was called out on her shit, so
- 24:17Speaker 1: she had to you know.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Around this same time, Kay, who was JJ's grandmother. So
- 24:23Speaker 1: Kay being you know, Charles's sister that had the daughter
- 24:28Speaker 1: who couldn't take care of JJ at the time, she
- 24:30Speaker 1: called police and requested a well check of JJ because
- 24:33Speaker 1: she had not seen or heard from him, and Laurie
- 24:36Speaker 1: was not responding to any of Kay's calls or texts
- 24:39Speaker 1: and this was very worrisome to her. However, for some reason,
- 24:42Speaker 1: her request was like severely delayed, so they didn't go
- 24:47Speaker 1: out there that day and check on JJ. Soon after
- 24:49Speaker 1: all of these events occur, Laurie uproots the children and
- 24:54Speaker 1: moves everyone to Idaho, even though our dear boy Chad
- 25:00Speaker 1: is still technically married to his wife.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Gosh.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Laurie's friend Melanie which I mentioned her earlier in the story,
- 25:08Speaker 1: Laurie told her that Chad's wife would pass away unexpectedly
- 25:13Speaker 1: before she and the kids moved. However, his wife did
- 25:17Speaker 1: not pass away, thankfully. Reports also state that Tylie, who
- 25:22Speaker 1: was sixteen at the time, did not want to move
- 25:24Speaker 1: to Idaho and had planned to originally or had originally
- 25:28Speaker 1: planned to stay in Arizona, but closer to the time
- 25:31Speaker 1: of the move had decided to go so she could
- 25:34Speaker 1: help take care of and protect her little brother JJ.
- 25:39Speaker 1: So that's pretty telling in of itself. Yeah, So the
- 25:41Speaker 1: three of them and Chad all moved in together into
- 25:45Speaker 1: a townhouse in Rexburg, Idaho, which is where Chad lived.
- 25:48Speaker 1: In September of twenty nineteen, Laurie, Chad, Tylee, and JJ
- 25:53Speaker 1: all took a road trip to Yellowstone National Park and
- 25:57Speaker 1: this would be the last time anyone would see or
- 25:59Speaker 1: hear from the children. There was tower pings on Tylee's
- 26:06Speaker 1: cell phone and there were pictures taken from this trip,
- 26:10Speaker 1: so there was like confirmation that they were there, but
- 26:13Speaker 1: that was the last time that they were seen. There
- 26:15Speaker 1: are also reports from Lurie's friend Melanie again that Laurie
- 26:19Speaker 1: told her that JJ had turned into a zombie, which
- 26:24Speaker 1: is another word that they use in their little whatever
- 26:29Speaker 1: made up religion, not the LDS religion, but like they're
- 26:33Speaker 1: sub group of it, which is like they refer to
- 26:37Speaker 1: that as like an evil spirit and claim that he
- 26:41Speaker 1: had said that he loved Satan, which is really odd because,
- 26:45Speaker 1: like I said before, in one of the sources I read,
- 26:48Speaker 1: JJ was said to be nonverbal. So nonverbal you don't speak.
- 26:54Speaker 1: You can maybe sign, you know, you sign language or whatever.
- 26:58Speaker 1: But yeah, I just don't believe that. Yeah, Okay, I
- 27:01Speaker 1: messed up when I said I'm gonna just say this
- 27:04Speaker 1: and you can leave it in. But when I said
- 27:06Speaker 1: that this would be the last time anyone would see
- 27:08Speaker 1: from the children, I actually meant just Tyley. Okay, So
- 27:13Speaker 1: the Yellowstone Park trip, that was the last time anyone
- 27:16Speaker 1: would see or hear from Tyley. So three weeks, it's
- 27:20Speaker 1: been three weeks since they moved to Idaho and JJ
- 27:25Speaker 1: was enrolled in school. Laurie decided to pool JJ from
- 27:29Speaker 1: school and she told his nanny that she would no
- 27:32Speaker 1: longer be needing him because JJ was going to stay
- 27:36Speaker 1: with his grandparents. So the next event was that someone
- 27:41Speaker 1: attempted to shoot and kill child's wife, Tammy, and it
- 27:44Speaker 1: later came out that the attempt on her life was
- 27:47Speaker 1: made by none other than drum roll please, Alex fucking brother. Yes.
- 27:58Speaker 1: So ten days later, in October of twenty nineteen, Tammy
- 28:03Speaker 1: is pronounced dead in her home in her bed, and
- 28:06Speaker 1: her death is ruled to be from natural causes.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and surprise surprise, Chad did not request an autopsy.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Another thing worth mentioning is that Melanie's husband, Brandon, was
- 28:20Speaker 1: also attacked and someone attempted to kill him, and he
- 28:23Speaker 1: took their kids and went into hiding. So the friend
- 28:26Speaker 1: Melanie that happened to her husband and her children. Okay,
- 28:30Speaker 1: After Melanie could not locate her children, she and Alex
- 28:33Speaker 1: decided to move to Idaho. They were not a couple,
- 28:36Speaker 1: There was no indicator that they were a couple, but
- 28:38Speaker 1: they just I guess wanted to be closer to Chad
- 28:41Speaker 1: and Laurie. There's a lot more to that Melanie's story,
- 28:45Speaker 1: but I'm not really going to go into it because
- 28:47Speaker 1: it's not really about her. But her behavior was very
- 28:50Speaker 1: similar to Laurie's behavior. So now it's November of twenty nineteen,
- 28:54Speaker 1: Laurie and Chad took a trip to Hawaii and essentially eloped.
- 28:58Speaker 1: So you know, it's like a month later and getting married.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Around this time, the FBI starts getting tips surrounding Lourie, Chad, Alex,
- 29:10Speaker 1: and Melanie, and things were just not adding up. So
- 29:13Speaker 1: once Laurie and Chad arrive back to Arizona, Kay, which
- 29:17Speaker 1: is Charles's brother, JJ's grandmother again requests a well check
- 29:22Speaker 1: on her grandson, and finally the police arrive at their
- 29:26Speaker 1: town home and there is no sign of JJ. Laurie
- 29:29Speaker 1: tells police that JJ is currently staying with her friend
- 29:32Speaker 1: Melanie in Arizona, and Chad calls Melanie and gives her
- 29:36Speaker 1: a heads up and tells her to evade police, and
- 29:39Speaker 1: she basically complies all right, thankfully, though soon she has
- 29:44Speaker 1: a small teeny tiny change of heart and doesn't want
- 29:48Speaker 1: to be involved in all of this and calls Lourie
- 29:51Speaker 1: to tell her, Hey, you know, I'm done covering for
- 29:54Speaker 1: you guys, or you know, doing whatever you want me
- 29:56Speaker 1: to do, and she recorded the call between uh, Laurie
- 30:00Speaker 1: and herself. There wasn't anything, you know, really telling or
- 30:06Speaker 1: vital to the case, but Laurie was on to her.
- 30:09Speaker 1: She could tell that like something was up. So another
- 30:13Speaker 1: interesting thing worth mentioning again about Alex and Melanie is
- 30:17Speaker 1: that both of them flew to Vegas to get married again,
- 30:21Speaker 1: not to each other but to people in their fanatical community,
- 30:26Speaker 1: and they both even Alex takes the last name of
- 30:30Speaker 1: his new spouse, which like people do that.
- 30:34Speaker 2: It's interesting.
- 30:34Speaker 1: It's not like, you know, it's not the craziest thing
- 30:37Speaker 1: I've ever heard, but you know, it's suspicious that they're
- 30:40Speaker 1: trying to kind of evade police a little bit, and
- 30:43Speaker 1: so that's why they did it. I don't know. Okay,
- 30:45Speaker 1: So during this time, Laurie and Chad fly back to
- 30:47Speaker 1: Hawaii and they rent a condo and the FBI got
- 30:51Speaker 1: the local police involved and they began servying the couple.
- 30:55Speaker 1: While they're in Hawaii. Police petition to have Chad's deceased wife,
- 31:00Speaker 1: Tammy's body egzoomed to do a formal autopsy due to
- 31:04Speaker 1: all the suspicion that was starting to arise around the couple.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And soon after that, Alex, Laurie's brother passes away from
- 31:14Speaker 1: a supposed blood clot.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Excuse me, so this is now the third person in
- 31:19Speaker 2: her life to pass away from natural causes.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah, from natural causes.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yeah, natural causes. Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Okay, because Charles was shot, but it was like an
- 31:31Speaker 1: accident or whatever you want to say. Yeah, that's right.
- 31:35Speaker 1: And he did have an autopsy performed and it was
- 31:38Speaker 1: determined that he did pass from a blood clot. But again,
- 31:41Speaker 1: like I mentioned in the Charles case, like his autopsy,
- 31:45Speaker 1: I feel like there's ways you can make things look
- 31:47Speaker 1: like accidents, Like you can make it look like someone.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Had a tag thousand, you can make.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It look like someone had a blood clot. I don't
- 31:55Speaker 1: know how, because I'm not that kind of person, but
- 31:59Speaker 1: I just feel like it. It's very possible.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 1: So, finally law enforcement is beginning to piece all of
- 32:06Speaker 1: these you know, tragedies and all of these tidbits of
- 32:09Speaker 1: information together surrounding these people, and they are officially named
- 32:16Speaker 1: persons of interest in the death of Tammy Davelle.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Wow. Okay.
- 32:21Speaker 1: So police obtained a search warrant for Chad's home in Idaho,
- 32:25Speaker 1: and they recovered almost fifty items for evidence. However, one
- 32:30Speaker 1: big question still remains. Where are Tyle and JJ.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 1: In January of twenty twenty, local police notify Laurie that
- 32:39Speaker 1: she has five days to show proof of life for
- 32:42Speaker 1: both children.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Wow okay, and she.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Just simply refused to comply, which is like, I'm you're
- 32:51Speaker 1: fucking kids, man, Like those are your kids? Sorry? It
- 32:57Speaker 1: just doesn't it makes no sense. No man is worth killing,
- 33:01Speaker 1: you know whatever, Your kids do so now an official
- 33:04Speaker 1: investigation into the children's whereabouts begin. Kay, who is Charles's
- 33:09Speaker 1: sister and JJ's grandmother. She has been advocating for her
- 33:14Speaker 1: grandson's safety the whole time, addresses Laurie in the media
- 33:18Speaker 1: and demands she tell law enforcement where JJ is. The
- 33:21Speaker 1: five days comes and goes, and Lurie is arrested finally
- 33:26Speaker 1: on several charges. In March of twenty twenty, Laurie is
- 33:29Speaker 1: sent back to an Idaho prison due to complaints that
- 33:34Speaker 1: the prison in Hawaii is too rough, too dirty, and
- 33:40Speaker 1: just too hard Like.
- 33:41Speaker 2: What, oh my god, are you kidding?
- 33:46Speaker 1: No? And I wrote my boo freaking hoo bitch. Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 1: So Chad, meanwhile, is still free. While in prison, Laurie
- 33:55Speaker 1: met with her lawyer, and their meetings were accidentally and
- 33:59Speaker 1: unlawfully due to some new COVID procedures that were currently
- 34:03Speaker 1: in place. I couldn't find anything that like said that
- 34:07Speaker 1: she like admitted to anything, but there was I guess
- 34:10Speaker 1: some information on there. I'm sure because the case is
- 34:13Speaker 1: still ongoing, they don't want to release that information, right
- 34:16Speaker 1: And her bell was set by the judge for one
- 34:18Speaker 1: million dollars.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Wow, Okay.
- 34:20Speaker 1: So in June of twenty twenty, police get another warrant
- 34:24Speaker 1: to search the grounds of Chad day Bell's home, and
- 34:29Speaker 1: in a few short hours human remains are found. And
- 34:33Speaker 1: she's gonna go ahead and give a trigger warning. It
- 34:35Speaker 1: does include, Sadly, it does include child death and some
- 34:39Speaker 1: pretty disgusting details about their death. So the remains were
- 34:46Speaker 1: confirmed to be Tyly in JJ. JJ was in his
- 34:51Speaker 1: red pajamas. He was wrapped in a plastic like I
- 34:55Speaker 1: guess kind of like a tarp, a plastic tarp, and
- 34:59Speaker 1: he was bound by duct tape on his mouth, his hands,
- 35:03Speaker 1: and his feet. And one of the articles that I read,
- 35:08Speaker 1: just from the fact that he was his mouth was
- 35:10Speaker 1: duct tape, said that he was probably still alive when
- 35:14Speaker 1: he was put into the ground. Tyley her body had
- 35:19Speaker 1: been dismembered and burned.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 35:25Speaker 1: And they were both buried. JJ's death was ruled or
- 35:30Speaker 1: JJ's cause of death was rolled from asphyxiation. He was
- 35:35Speaker 1: only seven years old. Oh, oh my god. It was
- 35:38Speaker 1: too difficult to determine the cause of death for Tyley
- 35:41Speaker 1: because she was so severely burned. And it's alleged that
- 35:45Speaker 1: both children were buried in Chad's backyard when his wife
- 35:49Speaker 1: Tammy was still alive. Oh my god, and she had
- 35:52Speaker 1: no idea. Chad was then arrested and his bell was
- 35:56Speaker 1: set for one man, one million dollars in January of
- 35:59Speaker 1: the year. So January of twenty twenty one, the autopsy
- 36:03Speaker 1: of Tammy was finally completed. So it was like basically
- 36:07Speaker 1: a year, like right under a year that it took
- 36:10Speaker 1: them to complete and you know, get a conclusion for
- 36:13Speaker 1: her autopsy. However, it has not been released to the public. Again,
- 36:17Speaker 1: I'm assuming because the trial is ongoing. In May, both
- 36:20Speaker 1: Laurie and Chad were additionally charged with first degree murder,
- 36:24Speaker 1: conspiracy to commit murder, plus the slew of other charges
- 36:28Speaker 1: against them, and we learned that among the victims they
- 36:31Speaker 1: were charged with for the murders, Tammy is one of
- 36:36Speaker 1: those victims. So it's safe to assume her autopsy proved
- 36:39Speaker 1: that she did not die of natural causes after all,
- 36:42Speaker 1: which wow, we all knew.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good to see the autopsy actually like confirm that.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad because I mean it was just too obvious.
- 36:52Speaker 1: But you know, he was the husband, so he got
- 36:54Speaker 1: to say whether or not she got an autopsy, right,
- 36:58Speaker 1: in Jine of this year, was committed to a mental
- 37:01Speaker 1: health and well being hospital and was deemed not fit
- 37:05Speaker 1: to stand trial.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Okay. Interesting.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Chad, on the other hand, was deemed of sound mind
- 37:11Speaker 1: and is fully capable of standing trial. He, however, pleaded
- 37:15Speaker 1: not guilty. But they are planning to seek the death
- 37:19Speaker 1: penalty for the deaths of Tammy, Tylee, and JJ, and
- 37:24Speaker 1: they assume as soon as Laurie is you know, willing
- 37:30Speaker 1: and able mentally to stand trial, she will also more
- 37:34Speaker 1: than likely see the same results. So they pretty much
- 37:39Speaker 1: assume that she'll get the death penalty as well. Right
- 37:43Speaker 1: as of yet, there have been no more advancements in
- 37:46Speaker 1: this case at this time. Like I said, it is
- 37:48Speaker 1: ongoing and I will continue to keep you guys updated
- 37:52Speaker 1: as more information unfolds.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Thank goodness. Yeah, I mean it's not conclusion, but at
- 37:58Speaker 2: least somebody he has been arrested and.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Trying to Yeah, we know they fucking did it, and
- 38:03Speaker 1: we know that they're they're gonna be charged. Oh yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know, I think there's a lot of great area
- 38:11Speaker 1: when it comes to the death penalty. I agree, but
- 38:14Speaker 1: in this situation, like I think, it's.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Just yeah, I mean, it's murdered your kids. It's like
- 38:20Speaker 2: Chris Watts.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Don't even get me started on that piece of shit.
- 38:26Speaker 2: So many people have been commenting on our Instagram about
- 38:28Speaker 2: the Gabby Patito case that the guy is giving him
- 38:32Speaker 2: Chris Watts vibes, and I'm like, I said that.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Remember I think I said you names, but I was like,
- 38:38Speaker 1: he it's similar like with Chris Watts though, like Imdia
- 38:42Speaker 1: was like that fucker did something. But with this guy,
- 38:46Speaker 1: I'm like, is he just really good actor or you know,
- 38:53Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll get into that more later. But yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 1: So that is the case of the murder of Tylee
- 39:00Speaker 1: and JJ Tammy, Charles, fuck LORI, fuck Alex and fuck Chad. Yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and fuck Melanie too. How I am about it?
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah. But I will, like I said, I'll keep
- 39:14Speaker 1: you guys updated. We'll update you on our Instagram page
- 39:17Speaker 1: which is at Inhuman Underscore podcast, and I will be
- 39:20Speaker 1: posting pictures from this, you know, this episode of all
- 39:25Speaker 1: these crazy people and all the crazy Well, I won't
- 39:28Speaker 1: post pictures of the crazy stuff that they did, but
