- 0:10Speaker 3: To prepare yourself for Craig preparing spectacle?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Here, particulate, stimulated, There you go back, you.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Start becoming a gem.
- 0:29Speaker 5: This is the Craig Cullin Show.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Jesus, oh God, no, oh yeah, heck.
- 0:36Speaker 3: This station is now the ultimate power in the universe,
- 0:39Speaker 3: your man.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Craig, that's right, it is the Craig Collins Show, k
- 0:45Speaker 1: s c V. The Voice of Texas. Thrilled to be
- 0:48Speaker 1: with you.
- 0:48Speaker 6: So much stuff out there to talk about, so many conversations,
- 0:53Speaker 6: and yet one of the biggest things, and I'll tell
- 0:56Speaker 6: you exactly why. Actually, this is a very easy thing
- 0:59Speaker 6: to start off on the show. The biggest reason that
- 1:02Speaker 6: one of the largest topics being talked about today is
- 1:05Speaker 6: whether or not President Trump knowingly allowed for the press
- 1:09Speaker 6: to ride on a airplane that he thought was being
- 1:12Speaker 6: targeted by Iran to be blown up, and he himself
- 1:17Speaker 6: chosen to ride on Air Force One. It was the
- 1:19Speaker 6: switchover that happened when he was close to Iran doing
- 1:23Speaker 6: some other stuff. This is all over the news today
- 1:26Speaker 6: and mainstream news media is obsessed with talking about it
- 1:29Speaker 6: because it checks every box that they care about. It's
- 1:33Speaker 6: about them, which news is not really supposed to make
- 1:36Speaker 6: itself the story, but in this case they sort of
- 1:39Speaker 6: organically get to do that, so they're thrilled again that
- 1:41Speaker 6: this story is about them and beyond even this is
- 1:45Speaker 6: the idea that President Trump somehow knowingly tried to and
- 1:49Speaker 6: I don't believe this to be true, but some are
- 1:51Speaker 6: trying to say this, like get the press killed by
- 1:55Speaker 6: having an attack happened on a plane that Iran thought
- 1:58Speaker 6: he'd be on that he wasn't not on because he
- 2:00Speaker 6: switched to a different air Force one to fly home
- 2:02Speaker 6: from a thing. President Trump did an interview where he
- 2:06Speaker 6: said he just listened to Secret Service, like he didn't
- 2:08Speaker 6: really think about any of it.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That's not a hymn thing.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Secret Service tells him what they need to do to
- 2:13Speaker 6: protect him, he goes okay, and then he just does
- 2:15Speaker 6: whatever they say.
- 2:17Speaker 1: But they don't care about this at all.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Mainstream media wants the narrative to be that Trump tried
- 2:22Speaker 6: to get all the press killed, which again is not
- 2:25Speaker 6: even remotely close to true. But here's CNN, one of
- 2:28Speaker 6: the places breaking this news story. From a New York
- 2:31Speaker 6: Times article that talks about this, and then also playing
- 2:34Speaker 6: audio of the President of the United States doing an
- 2:37Speaker 6: interview talking about how he just did again what the
- 2:40Speaker 6: press told him to do. I don't think this is
- 2:43Speaker 6: the biggest story of the day. I do think that
- 2:46Speaker 6: media is going to be obsessed with this story for
- 2:48Speaker 6: a little bit.
- 2:49Speaker 4: Here I was President Trump just a few moments ago
- 2:52Speaker 4: on the tarmac and Joint Bass Andrews confirming for the
- 2:55Speaker 4: first time that remarkable reporting from twenty four hours ago
- 2:59Speaker 4: from the Washington that he had been put on a
- 3:01Speaker 4: secret plane because of a threat against him as he
- 3:05Speaker 4: was flying back from Turkey to the United Kingdom. And
- 3:08Speaker 4: this comes tonight as the New York Times is also
- 3:11Speaker 4: adding to that breaking news with some reporting of their own.
- 3:16Speaker 4: They say, on the assassination threat that prompted the President
- 3:19Speaker 4: to go onto a catering truck to a secret plane,
- 3:23Speaker 4: two of US officials are telling The New York Times,
- 3:25Speaker 4: as Eric Schmidt and Maggie Haberman that quote, US intelligence
- 3:29Speaker 4: knew that there was a specific threat of a surface
- 3:32Speaker 4: to air missile against Air Force one, meaning whichever plane
- 3:35Speaker 4: was carrying the president, and that someone in the vicinity
- 3:38Speaker 4: of the NATO summit had been spotted with a shoulder
- 3:41Speaker 4: fired missile, and that quote, the Iranians knew specifically where
- 3:46Speaker 4: mister Trump was staying in Nankra, including which floor of
- 3:50Speaker 4: the building.
- 3:51Speaker 6: So again the narrative starts off with President Trump and
- 3:54Speaker 6: the Secret Service did a switcheroo. They pretended to get
- 3:57Speaker 6: on one plane, got on this vehicle, and then got
- 4:00Speaker 6: on a different plane, which is just simply smart. But
- 4:03Speaker 6: if you also move everyone else that's supposed to get
- 4:06Speaker 6: on that plane, the trick doesn't work. It's not like
- 4:09Speaker 6: Trump and the Secret Service we're trying to get press murdered.
- 4:13Speaker 6: That's not the idea.
- 4:15Speaker 1: But if you're.
- 4:15Speaker 6: Gonna pull a last second, we don't want to be
- 4:18Speaker 6: where the enemy thinks we are because we want to
- 4:21Speaker 6: protect the person who's in charge of the country. You
- 4:23Speaker 6: can't make everybody do it, or they know where you are,
- 4:26Speaker 6: like you can't.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I don't know. It's amazing to me. No one got hurt.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Of course, the plane didn't get fired, get fired upon,
- 4:32Speaker 6: or shot out of the air. Here's a little bit
- 4:34Speaker 6: more from Kitlyn Collins and actually audio of President Trump
- 4:37Speaker 6: talking to reporters.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Totally up to Secret Service. I just follow what they'd
- 4:42Speaker 2: like to do, So I go by Secret Service and
- 4:46Speaker 2: the military. They wanted me to go in a different flight.
- 4:49Speaker 1: A different plane, equal safety. But hey, they wanted me
- 4:53Speaker 1: to do.
- 4:54Speaker 2: It, so I do it.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I do what they say, right good. Well, I don't know.
- 4:59Speaker 2: I think act the plane that I flew on was
- 5:02Speaker 2: at greater risk.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I think it was at risk because.
- 5:05Speaker 7: That would be the plane.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I think that way that they would be more likely
- 5:09Speaker 2: to go for it. I don't worry about anything.
- 5:15Speaker 1: To be honest, whatever it is, you know my edit
- 5:17Speaker 1: did whatever.
- 5:19Speaker 6: If you didn't hear him, he was asked a question
- 5:21Speaker 6: about whether or not he was worried about a shoulder
- 5:23Speaker 6: fired missile, and his answer was, I worry about nothing.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I fear no man, I fear no thing at all.
- 5:29Speaker 6: And as far as explaining the position he's taking, the
- 5:32Speaker 6: thing he's saying to the reporter about the plane that
- 5:35Speaker 6: he actually ended up boarding being more likely to be targeted,
- 5:39Speaker 6: I think his argument would be that that plane had
- 5:42Speaker 6: some inferior capabilities to the one that he chose not
- 5:45Speaker 6: to board, although the one he chose not to board
- 5:47Speaker 6: also got upgraded, so it's supposed to be fancier and
- 5:50Speaker 6: nicer now and capable of certain things that maybe it
- 5:52Speaker 6: wasn't before.
- 5:53Speaker 1: That's the one that was gifted to us by Cutter.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But all, like all the.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Whole conversation, every part of it, all of the craziness,
- 6:01Speaker 6: and the one thing that mainstream media desperately wants you
- 6:04Speaker 6: to believe is that Trump tried to kill the press,
- 6:07Speaker 6: which is not at all the truth. It's jumping seven
- 6:11Speaker 6: stages and six different you know, hoops to try to
- 6:13Speaker 6: get to a place that has nothing to do with
- 6:15Speaker 6: what actually occurred. But that's what they want to talk about.
- 6:18Speaker 6: That's how they want to approach this today, because again,
- 6:21Speaker 6: it's about them. And I think the thing that makes
- 6:24Speaker 6: me the most annoyed when I think about media today
- 6:28Speaker 6: and most of the left leaning legacy, whatever you want
- 6:31Speaker 6: to call it, mainstream media that's out there, the cable
- 6:34Speaker 6: television and many of the network television stations, The thing
- 6:38Speaker 6: that makes me most annoyed now is they don't hide
- 6:41Speaker 6: the idea that they want to be part of the story.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Like it's not the journalism one oh one where you
- 6:48Speaker 6: should never ever not only not want to be, but
- 6:51Speaker 6: you should never actually become the story. It should always
- 6:54Speaker 6: be whoever you're interviewing or whatever the topic is you're
- 6:57Speaker 6: talking about. You don't want the spotlight on you. You
- 7:01Speaker 6: want to be able to use your position as a
- 7:04Speaker 6: journalist that America trusts, which barely exists. We don't have
- 7:08Speaker 6: pretty much any of those anymore, but you want to
- 7:11Speaker 6: use that in order to tell the story through whoever
- 7:13Speaker 6: the other people are or the other you know, aspects
- 7:16Speaker 6: of something that you're talking about. You should almost be
- 7:19Speaker 6: forgettable if you're doing your job really, really well. And
- 7:24Speaker 6: that's not how any of these people function. That's not
- 7:26Speaker 6: how they operate. They're also self involved, so self obsessed,
- 7:29Speaker 6: like so many politicians are, that it always becomes about that.
- 7:33Speaker 6: And I think that's one of the biggest reasons that
- 7:35Speaker 6: you hear people say when you look at like DC itself,
- 7:40Speaker 6: that it's no longer doing things that benefit me and you.
- 7:43Speaker 6: It's no longer helping the American people. Not that we
- 7:46Speaker 6: probably think it ever really did that before, but it's
- 7:49Speaker 6: certainly not doing it now because everybody's just out for theirself.
- 7:52Speaker 6: They're out for their own and we see this beyond politics.
- 7:56Speaker 6: I think you probably see this in your own life
- 7:58Speaker 6: right now. Whether you have kids that are obsessed with
- 8:02Speaker 6: how they're received on social media, which is a societal problem.
- 8:05Speaker 6: I wouldn't blame a child for that, but I would
- 8:07Speaker 6: blame society for feeding that idea that being popular means
- 8:12Speaker 6: getting more likes than all of your friends at whatever
- 8:14Speaker 6: age you're at. In our world, all the way up
- 8:17Speaker 6: to the politicians who go to DC and find out
- 8:19Speaker 6: how they can make themselves richer and they don't really
- 8:23Speaker 6: care how it impacts us. And honestly, this also kind
- 8:26Speaker 6: of folds into tall Rico to an extent because of
- 8:29Speaker 6: how tall Rico is right now trying to pretend and.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Reshape who he is so that he gets elected.
- 8:35Speaker 6: So he uses his power to do some terrible things
- 8:38Speaker 6: like we all expect him to do. The far left,
- 8:40Speaker 6: crazy person that is James tall Rico is going to
- 8:43Speaker 6: do awful stuff if he gets in a position of power.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You know that.
- 8:47Speaker 6: I know that the only people who seem not to
- 8:49Speaker 6: know it, or to seem to want to pretend it's
- 8:52Speaker 6: not true are the people who would likely vote for him.
- 8:55Speaker 6: And I talked about this yesterday. I'll say it again
- 8:57Speaker 6: real quick before we switch to another topic. I do
- 9:01Speaker 6: believe a significant portion of those people, especially here in Texas,
- 9:05Speaker 6: who are likely to vote for tall Rico or doing
- 9:07Speaker 6: it to give the middle finger to President Trump. They're
- 9:10Speaker 6: not actually doing it because they think tallar Rico's a
- 9:12Speaker 6: good option. How could they? A lot of the things
- 9:15Speaker 6: that he says and does, they continue to run so
- 9:18Speaker 6: counter to what it means to be an average Texan.
- 9:21Speaker 6: The average beliefs that you have, the average way in
- 9:24Speaker 6: which I think conduct yourself, and the religious things that
- 9:27Speaker 6: might ground you. These are all things that tall Rico
- 9:30Speaker 6: does not share with you. And he had a whole
- 9:32Speaker 6: lot of people out there, maybe not listening to this show,
- 9:35Speaker 6: but in general, just a lot of people out in
- 9:37Speaker 6: our society right now, and certainly people cheering from Afar
- 9:40Speaker 6: who don't even live in Texas are hoping that a
- 9:42Speaker 6: lot of these crazy people elect this crazy person into
- 9:46Speaker 6: an office of I think what would be incredibly dangerous
- 9:50Speaker 6: to the United States of America if it were to happen,
- 9:53Speaker 6: but an office of power that I don't think Texas
- 9:56Speaker 6: can handle like doing. I don't think we can accept
- 9:59Speaker 6: the idea that that's something that would happen from this state.
- 10:02Speaker 6: I don't think we can allow it.
- 10:04Speaker 8: To happen.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I want to play something else.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Brandon Gill, a Texas Republican, is continuing to make a
- 10:10Speaker 6: name for himself all over the place, whether it's grilling people.
- 10:15Speaker 6: One of the things he is best at, in my opinion,
- 10:18Speaker 6: is whenever anybody goes in front of the House for
- 10:20Speaker 6: hearing and he's set to ask some questions, he does
- 10:23Speaker 6: a tremendous job of asking bold, interesting questions that also
- 10:28Speaker 6: demonstrate how much a lot of the people he's talking
- 10:31Speaker 6: to are just full of crap, which I think is incredible.
- 10:34Speaker 6: But also he sat down in did an interview on
- 10:36Speaker 6: Fox and the Will Kine Show, and he talked about
- 10:39Speaker 6: mass migration and how it is a steady stream sort
- 10:43Speaker 6: of problem that America has faced for a while and
- 10:45Speaker 6: certainly faces even today, even as President Trump has closed
- 10:49Speaker 6: the border because of the desire for people to just
- 10:52Speaker 6: swing that right back open. But here's a little bit
- 10:54Speaker 6: about what Brandon Gill said.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So, if I were to ask you, Congressman, what do
- 10:58Speaker 2: you feel like is the greatest threat to America? And
- 11:01Speaker 2: I gave you a menu of options that included mass migration,
- 11:05Speaker 2: the rise of Islamism, or this self defeating philosophy that
- 11:10Speaker 2: has taken over much of the highly educated down only
- 11:13Speaker 2: mobile white people in America, this embrace of socialism. What
- 11:16Speaker 2: would be your answer, You.
- 11:17Speaker 7: Know, obviously all three of those are major threats to
- 11:20Speaker 7: the country. If you had to nail it down, though,
- 11:22Speaker 7: I would certainly say mass migration. That is the one
- 11:25Speaker 7: thing that touches every single part of American life. If
- 11:30Speaker 7: you ask yourself, you know, why are wages being suppressed,
- 11:34Speaker 7: Why are rents very high? Why whenever I go to
- 11:38Speaker 7: the doctor's officer to the hospital do I have to
- 11:40Speaker 7: wait for three hours? All of that is driven by
- 11:43Speaker 7: mass migration. Ask yourself, why are we seeing a decline
- 11:46Speaker 7: in the economic viability of America's social institutions? Why are
- 11:50Speaker 7: our roads less safe? All of that is driven by
- 11:53Speaker 7: mass migration. However, it does another thing too, though. I
- 11:57Speaker 7: think that mass migration creates it's a political environment, and
- 12:01Speaker 7: the Left knows this that they believe is conducive to
- 12:03Speaker 7: them winning elections, not only importing a new electorate, but
- 12:07Speaker 7: also creating an environment where it's easy to divide Americans
- 12:11Speaker 7: against each other.
- 12:11Speaker 6: In that gay yes, bingo, bingo, Brandon Gill incredible job.
- 12:15Speaker 6: At the end, there saying one that Democrats do hope
- 12:18Speaker 6: that a lot of people who are coming into this
- 12:20Speaker 6: country are Democratic voters, and they're trying to find a
- 12:23Speaker 6: way to get them to vote legally, even if they're
- 12:25Speaker 6: not here with a legal status. But it's the other
- 12:28Speaker 6: part of that conversation that I think is wholeheartedly lost
- 12:32Speaker 6: so often in any sort of discussion about what we're doing,
- 12:36Speaker 6: what we should be doing, what we're getting wrong currently
- 12:39Speaker 6: in this country, or certainly what the Democrats are trying
- 12:41Speaker 6: to do to change this country for the worse in
- 12:45Speaker 6: my opinion, and a lot of it is trying to
- 12:47Speaker 6: make people hate each other. Rush Limbaugh used to talk
- 12:50Speaker 6: about this all the time, the way that certain people
- 12:53Speaker 6: in media or politicians wanted.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Men to hate women, women to hate men, you pick
- 12:58Speaker 1: the group.
- 12:58Speaker 6: They were trying to put people at odds, because the
- 13:01Speaker 6: power in the world of politics is to convince the
- 13:04Speaker 6: side that they think is under attack, that they're claiming,
- 13:08Speaker 6: like you right now, whoever you are, you're under attack.
- 13:11Speaker 6: The only way to defend yourself is to vote me
- 13:14Speaker 6: into office. I am the Democrat that's claiming that I'm
- 13:17Speaker 6: going to fix whatever the problem is that you're facing.
- 13:20Speaker 6: That I'm telling you you're facing that's the trick of
- 13:22Speaker 6: it all, that's the rub. And now they've gone as
- 13:25Speaker 6: far as to say and you should also hate anyone
- 13:27Speaker 6: on person them, don't talk to them, don't be around
- 13:30Speaker 6: them at all, who votes differently than you. If there's
- 13:33Speaker 6: someone who's going to vote for the horrible right, then
- 13:36Speaker 6: you should absolutely do everything you can to treat them
- 13:38Speaker 6: like a social pariah. Now, granted, it doesn't really exist
- 13:41Speaker 6: as much here in Texas as other places. I think
- 13:44Speaker 6: if you're in a room in most of this state,
- 13:47Speaker 6: you're going to assume there's other conservatives in the room.
- 13:50Speaker 6: But there's a lot of places, a lot of very
- 13:52Speaker 6: left leaning cities where they definitely don't assume that, where
- 13:55Speaker 6: they think that everybody in the room is a Democrat
- 13:58Speaker 6: and everybody hates Trump, or everybody thinks this, and that
- 14:01Speaker 6: that's their version of we're all in this together and
- 14:04Speaker 6: we have to fight the other side and we have.
- 14:06Speaker 1: To hate them all. Right.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Shifting gears another thing that I thought was interesting, and
- 14:11Speaker 6: I think she'll be missed quite a bit, but it
- 14:14Speaker 6: looks like the White House Press Secretary is stepping aside
- 14:17Speaker 6: Caroline Levitt. She just had a baby, so she wants
- 14:20Speaker 6: to raise her child, to have time with her family.
- 14:24Speaker 6: All this makes sense. None of this is something I
- 14:26Speaker 6: remotely am trying to say. I'm judging, but I think
- 14:29Speaker 6: she did a really good job. I think she was
- 14:31Speaker 6: quite good at challenging the press. I will also seeming
- 14:35Speaker 6: to maintain a level of professionalism that doesn't always exist
- 14:39Speaker 6: when you try to attack the press that's attacking you.
- 14:41Speaker 6: But here was Fox talking about how Caroline Levitt is.
- 14:44Speaker 5: She's out huge news and unexpected news. Obviously. Caroline just
- 14:50Speaker 5: put out an additional post saying that serving as the
- 14:52Speaker 5: White House Press secretary of the last year and a
- 14:54Speaker 5: half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime.
- 14:57Speaker 5: She expresses her gratitude to the President the privilege of
- 15:01Speaker 5: speaking on his behalf at the podium, and talks about
- 15:03Speaker 5: how challenging it has been working in one of the
- 15:06Speaker 5: most demanding and important jobs, while also welcoming to young
- 15:10Speaker 5: children in recent years. You know, she is the youngest
- 15:13Speaker 5: press secretary in history.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Huge achievement in and.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Of itself, and was a very effective messenger for this
- 15:19Speaker 5: administration and also for reporters, very accessible and in the
- 15:25Speaker 5: room with the President as opposed to under the Biden administration.
- 15:29Speaker 5: For example, when we would try to get answers from
- 15:32Speaker 5: Kreene John Pierre, no idea what was going on, it
- 15:34Speaker 5: was apparent that she wasn't as close to the decision
- 15:37Speaker 5: makers and able to.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Give us and on purpose, by the way, when it
- 15:41Speaker 6: was the Biden administration and their White House practice press
- 15:44Speaker 6: secretary was out there saying that I don't know what's
- 15:46Speaker 6: going on with that. I'm going to have to follow up.
- 15:49Speaker 6: I'll redirect you to another department. All that was intentional
- 15:52Speaker 6: because even Biden, I don't think knew what was happening
- 15:54Speaker 6: while he was in office. Other people were pulling the
- 15:56Speaker 6: strings and I don't think they were informing him. Caroline
- 15:59Speaker 6: Levitt did a great job of telling us what was
- 16:02Speaker 6: going on with President Trump because she seemed to be
- 16:04Speaker 6: acutely aware. Karin John Pierre seemed to have no idea,
- 16:08Speaker 6: and again I think that's probably because neither did Biden.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But I will say this about the whole of it.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Because you heard it actually mentioned at the tail end
- 16:17Speaker 6: of that update that happened on Fox News. She is
- 16:21Speaker 6: the youngest person ever to hold that role and talk
- 16:24Speaker 6: about the rare amount of times that that was brought
- 16:27Speaker 6: up and mentioned by anybody in media anywhere, Karin John Pierre,
- 16:31Speaker 6: they talked about all the time, how she was like
- 16:33Speaker 6: the first this, the first that to be the White.
- 16:36Speaker 1: House Press secretary.
- 16:37Speaker 6: And none of that matters, because all that matters is
- 16:41Speaker 6: if you're good at your job. I don't care what
- 16:42Speaker 6: you look like, I don't care how you live your life.
- 16:45Speaker 1: None of that matters to me.
- 16:47Speaker 6: The only thing that I care about is are you
- 16:48Speaker 6: good or bad at the position you've been given? Can
- 16:52Speaker 6: somebody else be better than you at it? Let's fire
- 16:54Speaker 6: you and find somebody else who will be good at
- 16:56Speaker 6: this or better at this than you are. That's a meritocracy.
- 17:00Speaker 6: That's what we're supposed to have in this society. But
- 17:02Speaker 6: oftentimes the Left does not care about that and doesn't
- 17:04Speaker 6: praise people that deserve something or get something based on
- 17:09Speaker 6: the way in which they earn it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Instead they talk about these other things.
- 17:12Speaker 6: And so I just find it uniquely interesting to think
- 17:16Speaker 6: about how rare it is to mention the things that
- 17:19Speaker 6: make Caroline Levitt unique, as far as her serving in
- 17:22Speaker 6: that role, based on who she is, how old she is, etc.
- 17:26Speaker 6: It's just not the kind of thing, and mostly because
- 17:28Speaker 6: the left ignores anything that's valuable on the right that
- 17:31Speaker 6: they think about as important on the left. But I
- 17:34Speaker 6: think it's even more than that. The right also doesn't care.
- 17:37Speaker 1: We barely care.
- 17:38Speaker 6: I doubt most people listening to the show actually truly
- 17:41Speaker 6: give a crap that Caroline Levitt was younger than other
- 17:45Speaker 6: people in that position. I think all you care about
- 17:48Speaker 6: is whether or not you thought she did a good job,
- 17:49Speaker 6: And if you thought she did a good job, as
- 17:51Speaker 6: I did, you'll probably miss her. A couple other quick
- 17:54Speaker 6: things before we take our first break. I thought this
- 17:58Speaker 6: was interesting. This was CNN talking about Darlene Graham, the
- 18:02Speaker 6: sister of the late Lindsay Graham, who will be in
- 18:04Speaker 6: a runoff in South Carolina in the Republican Senate race.
- 18:08Speaker 8: There.
- 18:09Speaker 6: When they're reporting on this, they're projecting it. They're not aware,
- 18:12Speaker 6: I don't think definitively, but it did happen.
- 18:15Speaker 1: She is going to wind up in a runoff. I
- 18:16Speaker 1: do want to play a little bit of this in
- 18:18Speaker 1: South Carolina.
- 18:19Speaker 9: As you mentioned at the top, it does appear like
- 18:21Speaker 9: the appointed senator Darlene Graham, the sister, of course of
- 18:23Speaker 9: the late senator Lindsay Graham does appear that she's headed
- 18:26Speaker 9: for a runoff. You need fifty percent plus one, So
- 18:28Speaker 9: this is a special election that's going to then have
- 18:30Speaker 9: a special runoff.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It appears as we count the votes.
- 18:33Speaker 9: What else are we seeing so far she's running against
- 18:35Speaker 9: it's a crowded field that the main contenders are Congressman
- 18:37Speaker 9: Russell Fry, Congressman Ralph Norman, and former Congressman and former
- 18:40Speaker 9: governor Mark Sandford. And this is literally Anderson the all
- 18:43Speaker 9: politics is local, cliche special as we see it right now.
- 18:47Speaker 9: You see the dark red that's Russell Fry. That's roughly
- 18:49Speaker 9: his congressional district where he is leading. You see the
- 18:52Speaker 9: yellow over here that's Ralph Norman. That is his congressional
- 18:54Speaker 9: district where he is leading. And you see down here
- 18:56Speaker 9: in Charleston, that's where former governor, former Congressman Sandford lives,
- 19:00Speaker 9: and that was his congressional district when he was in
- 19:02Speaker 9: congress back in the day. Darley and Graham is winning everywhere,
- 19:05Speaker 9: just about whether the congressman or the former congressman is
- 19:08Speaker 9: not also on the ballot.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Yeah, she was doing really well in a lot of places,
- 19:12Speaker 6: not doing well in some very unique places. She will
- 19:14Speaker 6: be in a runoff with Ralph Norman. I think she's
- 19:17Speaker 6: going to win that runoff. I think she will remain
- 19:19Speaker 6: a Senator beyond the interim way in which she's holding
- 19:22Speaker 6: this job because of the passing of her brother. And
- 19:26Speaker 6: I think that that's a good news story, a big story.
- 19:29Speaker 6: And again I would have preferred there be no runoff.
- 19:33Speaker 6: That didn't happen. But I think once we get through
- 19:35Speaker 6: the runoff stage, there should be some acknowledgment of what
- 19:39Speaker 6: is special about someone who raised his own sister and
- 19:43Speaker 6: then sadly passes away kind of surprisingly, even though he
- 19:47Speaker 6: was not a young man, but he didn't really have
- 19:49Speaker 6: any health concerns that we were aware of. And then
- 19:51Speaker 6: suddenly he's not here, and she might go from being
- 19:53Speaker 6: an interim to being an actual senator, like a long
- 19:57Speaker 6: term senator. I just think that's an incredible story. And
- 20:00Speaker 6: I think you can dismiss personally, you can dismiss your
- 20:03Speaker 6: political bias to acknowledge that, I don't care if you're
- 20:07Speaker 6: on the right of the left. You can say that
- 20:09Speaker 6: there's something cool and special about the idea of this.
- 20:12Speaker 6: Of course, the left doesn't know how to do that, ever,
- 20:15Speaker 6: but I do think it's interesting, and I do think
- 20:17Speaker 6: it's important, and I thought it was a cool thing
- 20:19Speaker 6: that happened the other day. At least I would have
- 20:23Speaker 6: preferred again that it didn't become a runoff. But I
- 20:26Speaker 6: think it's going to even more so go the way
- 20:28Speaker 6: I expect it to. That you'll win and then it
- 20:31Speaker 6: becomes a fun story. One last thing that I do
- 20:33Speaker 6: want to play. I just thought this was amazing. This
- 20:36Speaker 6: is about Indiana and Saint Joseph County specifically. But this
- 20:40Speaker 6: happened on CNN. Nobody expected it was the big headline
- 20:44Speaker 6: that bounced all over the place when this went viral
- 20:47Speaker 6: because David Axelrod, who is on this panel and obviously
- 20:50Speaker 6: was the main strategist for President Obama, didn't seem to
- 20:54Speaker 6: refute it a accusation that Barack Obama only got on
- 20:59Speaker 6: the Indiana primary in two thousand and eight because of
- 21:01Speaker 6: some sweet sweet fraud. Now I'm gonna play all this
- 21:04Speaker 6: and it's CNN. This isn't like the Fox News people
- 21:07Speaker 6: that people on the left would say, lie. But this
- 21:10Speaker 6: is a CNN discussion and you're sitting next to the
- 21:12Speaker 6: strategist for Obama who doesn't tell you, this is a lie.
- 21:17Speaker 6: I thought this was a bigger deal than they seem
- 21:19Speaker 6: to pretend it is.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Here we go in Arizona, he hired the ninjas.
- 21:23Speaker 10: What were they called? Ninja.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I'll give you, I'll give you.
- 21:26Speaker 11: I'll give you an example of where it has been determinative,
- 21:29Speaker 11: and that's in my home state of Indiana, Saint Joseph County.
- 21:31Speaker 11: The gentleman you previously worked for, David Axelrod. Barack Obama
- 21:36Speaker 11: got on the ballot because Democrats in that county submitted
- 21:39Speaker 11: fraudulent ballot petition signatures. People including the Democrat county chair,
- 21:44Speaker 11: went to jail over that Barack Obama should not have
- 21:47Speaker 11: been on the primary ballot in the state of Indiana.
- 21:49Speaker 3: But that's not a voting that's not a it's still
- 21:52Speaker 3: like that's something.
- 21:53Speaker 11: It is a voting issue because he was, though that's
- 21:58Speaker 11: not a it's not feeling wessoles are voting.
- 22:01Speaker 7: That's an Indiana issue because.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That's a specific issue to just Indiana.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Or some fraud happened and somebody was on a bout
- 22:07Speaker 6: that should have been on it and then got a
- 22:09Speaker 6: bunch of votes they shouldn't have got because again they
- 22:11Speaker 6: shouldn't have appeared on the ballot in the first place.
- 22:14Speaker 1: None of that's a thing we care about.
- 22:16Speaker 6: I love the way that the idiot that is Kinsinger
- 22:20Speaker 6: tries to argue this away, because it sounds very similar
- 22:24Speaker 6: to me to any time a breaking news story happens
- 22:27Speaker 6: where we find about we find out about some amount
- 22:31Speaker 6: of voter fraud.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Like there's a little bit in New Jersey, there's a
- 22:34Speaker 1: little bit over here.
- 22:35Speaker 6: It might have happened pretty significantly in Indiana, but it
- 22:38Speaker 6: also doesn't happen except all these times when it does
- 22:41Speaker 6: and people go to jail. I just find that to
- 22:44Speaker 6: be fascinating. And I'll play a little bit more of this.
- 22:47Speaker 6: There's only about twenty seconds left. I love how non
- 22:50Speaker 6: story this is to so many people. And if you're
- 22:53Speaker 6: from the area, you knew about this before, because people
- 22:56Speaker 6: were in fact thrown in the Hooscou for a whole
- 22:58Speaker 6: bunch of cheating and fraud. But you talk to me
- 23:01Speaker 6: about the Save America Act, about anything involving integrity in
- 23:06Speaker 6: our elections, and you say it's unnecessary, as the left
- 23:09Speaker 6: often does. I just have to go through a myriad
- 23:12Speaker 6: of these things to show you how obviously necessary it
- 23:15Speaker 6: is to not allow cheating, and I don't mean just
- 23:19Speaker 6: cheating in the senses Kinsinger was trying to argue, like
- 23:21Speaker 6: that wasn't.
- 23:22Speaker 1: People who were here without the right to vote to vote.
- 23:25Speaker 6: I don't care what it is, man, Let's find every
- 23:27Speaker 6: single avenue to make sure that people who are signing
- 23:30Speaker 6: petitions are also real. I just like people who are
- 23:32Speaker 6: showing up to vote, or actually the people that they
- 23:35Speaker 6: say they are with the fancy photo ID to do it.
- 23:37Speaker 1: But here's a little bit more of them excusing me.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Yanna is the one that determines who's on.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Their How did that get determined?
- 23:44Speaker 11: How did that get determined? It was finally exposed two
- 23:47Speaker 11: years later, it went through the courts and several people found.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Themselves in jail finally.
- 23:52Speaker 11: But that's the problem. It didn't happen. They didn't find
- 23:56Speaker 11: it before he was on the ballot.
- 23:58Speaker 6: But they didn't even look for it before he's on
- 24:01Speaker 6: the ballot, and before that all is over, and they
- 24:03Speaker 6: claim it's not real.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It's pushing the goalposts.
- 24:05Speaker 6: It's waiting two additional years to say, all right, fine,
- 24:09Speaker 6: he got us, but it's not like you can change
- 24:11Speaker 6: anything anyway. Honestly, it's what a lot of people say
- 24:13Speaker 6: about twenty twenty, when people say that President Trump is
- 24:16Speaker 6: still too overly focused on a discussion about an election
- 24:19Speaker 6: he does not believe he lost. He believes that it
- 24:22Speaker 6: was stolen from him. A lot of people say, come on,
- 24:25Speaker 6: move on, it's over, it doesn't matter anymore. And yet
- 24:28Speaker 6: part of me thinks that if you can continue to
- 24:30Speaker 6: prove beyond the things that we already think are demonstrations
- 24:34Speaker 6: of the belief that that occurred, but you continue to
- 24:36Speaker 6: actually eventually throw some people in the host gal, I
- 24:40Speaker 6: think we're doing better and better, and we're seeing those
- 24:42Speaker 6: cracks happen.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Whether it's this story New Jersey.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Like I said, there's several examples of wait a minute,
- 24:49Speaker 6: there was some fraud. It did happen here. That's so
- 24:52Speaker 6: odd because I thought it never happens at all. So
- 24:54Speaker 6: I absolutely find it fascinating. My wife just text me
- 25:00Speaker 6: that you downloaded the app. That's very sweet of you, Betty. Yes,
- 25:04Speaker 6: we have an app, a brand new app. I'll say
- 25:06Speaker 6: this before I take a break. KSV Radio had a
- 25:10Speaker 6: iPhone app that I think we put out like thirteen
- 25:13Speaker 6: years ago. Based on some of the reviews on it,
- 25:16Speaker 6: that deserved an update. I did refresh it. We're getting
- 25:19Speaker 6: some messages from people that use Android phones that are
- 25:22Speaker 6: upset that they can't get the app because we don't
- 25:24Speaker 6: have a comparable Android app right now. There is one.
- 25:28Speaker 6: Chris X was talking about it on his show. That's
- 25:30Speaker 6: in the works, so it will come out. I will
- 25:33Speaker 6: say this to anybody that cares about the technology and
- 25:36Speaker 6: accessing technology to listen to our station if your signal
- 25:39Speaker 6: isn't great a lot of places. Tune In is an
- 25:42Speaker 6: app that is on both Android and iPhone. It's not ours,
- 25:46Speaker 6: it's not branded by our radio station. It doesn't have
- 25:49Speaker 6: all the stuff that our station's app would have in
- 25:52Speaker 6: it for iPhone users. But if you want to listen
- 25:55Speaker 6: to us on our brand new audio stream, you can
- 25:58Speaker 6: do that with tune in on an Android phone and
- 26:00Speaker 6: just search KSEV Radio. And I actually also took control
- 26:03Speaker 6: of that page. So now our schedule is right. We
- 26:06Speaker 6: had a pretty outdated schedule on that and now it's
- 26:08Speaker 6: been updated and it's better. But so there are avenues
- 26:11Speaker 6: to connect with us via technology. You can call the
- 26:14Speaker 6: station in the app just by hitting the call the
- 26:16Speaker 6: station button. I got to find a way to let
- 26:19Speaker 6: them text it we don't have a text number.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I would have put it in the app if we did.
- 26:22Speaker 1: But there might be a way to.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Let you chat communicate with us too in the near
- 26:27Speaker 6: future that I think would be cool if you don't
- 26:28Speaker 6: actually want to get on the phone and talk with
- 26:30Speaker 6: your voice, but you want to give us feedback and
- 26:33Speaker 6: some of what we're saying, and we can read some
- 26:35Speaker 6: of those on air two. Although social media pages also
- 26:38Speaker 6: work for that, and the YouTube page is accessible via
- 26:41Speaker 6: the app. But KSEV Radio has a brand new app
- 26:44Speaker 6: that's out there. It's getting constantly updated. We're still updating it,
- 26:47Speaker 6: so you might go to sleep tonight and a brand
- 26:50Speaker 6: new update might hit your phone. If you have automatic
- 26:53Speaker 6: updates installed in your phone allowing all your apps to
- 26:56Speaker 6: switch over at night, you might wind up waking up
- 26:59Speaker 6: in the morning to a brand new Appright, I gotta
- 27:00Speaker 6: take a break. There's a lot to get to And
- 27:04Speaker 6: thank you again to my wife for what she said
- 27:06Speaker 6: about how nice the app is, the sweet other listeners
- 27:09Speaker 6: that have been saying it that's kind too. Please do
- 27:11Speaker 6: check it out and give us feedback. Let us know
- 27:13Speaker 6: if there's some things you think we should put on it,
- 27:15Speaker 6: because I know a guy.
- 27:17Speaker 1: But all right, quick break a lot more. This is
- 27:19Speaker 1: the Craig Collins Show KSV, The Voice of Texts.
- 27:23Speaker 6: This is the Craig Collins Show KSCV, the Voice of Texas.
- 27:26Speaker 6: We have a Chris XTC who is called into the show,
- 27:30Speaker 6: one of the other Chris Xes that's out there.
- 27:32Speaker 10: How you doing, buddy, Hey, Craig Collins filling in. I'm
- 27:36Speaker 10: doing great. I love that man wanted it. Wanted to
- 27:42Speaker 10: talk to you about the app. Yes, that that old
- 27:45Speaker 10: app was so bad. It was it would just hang up.
- 27:49Speaker 10: You have to start it over again, it would start.
- 27:52Speaker 10: It was terrible. Yeah, thank goodness, somebody cared. I think,
- 27:57Speaker 10: are you the only person that cares about KCV, because
- 28:00Speaker 10: when you get there things started changing for the better.
- 28:02Speaker 6: Well that's that's very sweet. No, I'm not the only
- 28:05Speaker 6: person that cares. I just happen to have a unique
- 28:07Speaker 6: set of skills. I feel like I'm now saying something
- 28:09Speaker 6: from one of those movies, But I do. I have
- 28:11Speaker 6: a certain set of skills that we can use to
- 28:13Speaker 6: to fix some stuff.
- 28:16Speaker 10: And so I had to delete the old app. Sure,
- 28:18Speaker 10: and and then because you know, and then I reloaded
- 28:21Speaker 10: and went back and went to the app. I'm gonna
- 28:23Speaker 10: iPhone loaded in the new app, and the sound quality
- 28:26Speaker 10: is so much better.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yes, you can.
- 28:29Speaker 10: Actually it's like I'm listening to you guys right through
- 28:31Speaker 10: the microphone or something.
- 28:32Speaker 6: That was That wasn't that was intentional, Chris XTC, We
- 28:36Speaker 6: did that intentionally.
- 28:38Speaker 10: Well, thanks for putting in the new app and should
- 28:41Speaker 10: in tocire you know, listenership, let's hope.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Sure, is there anything.
- 28:45Speaker 6: Else you want to say? Anything about the news or
- 28:46Speaker 6: you just wanted to pat me on the back.
- 28:49Speaker 10: No, I don't care that much about the news.
- 28:51Speaker 5: I just listened to the news.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I love that. Man, I barely care too. Thanks so
- 28:55Speaker 1: much for calling him Bud.
- 28:57Speaker 10: All right, great, But.
- 28:58Speaker 6: You know what's so funny about Chris XTC saying that
- 29:01Speaker 6: at the end of his call. That was very nice
- 29:03Speaker 6: about the technology stuff that we're changing here. People ask
- 29:06Speaker 6: me that all the time, like when I'm not doing radio. Actually,
- 29:11Speaker 6: I had somebody ask me this the other night about
- 29:13Speaker 6: how much I care about the news. A listener that
- 29:16Speaker 6: sent a message on social media. And I'll tell you
- 29:19Speaker 6: the truth, if you want to know, I don't. I
- 29:22Speaker 6: actually don't want to follow the news anywhere near as
- 29:25Speaker 6: closely as I do, and I don't care who's in charge.
- 29:28Speaker 6: I don't care if it's Democrats or Republicans. I don't
- 29:30Speaker 6: care if it's people I voted for or people I
- 29:32Speaker 6: didn't like. I think a lot of us just want
- 29:35Speaker 6: to live our lives and don't.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Give a crap at all, and yet we have to.
- 29:40Speaker 6: And so I'm grateful for radio stations like KSV, thinking
- 29:45Speaker 6: I'm valuable enough to the team to let me not
- 29:48Speaker 6: only be on the radio station but then give my
- 29:50Speaker 6: opinion on stuff like news. But I get the apathy
- 29:55Speaker 6: for all of this because it just it does feel
- 29:58Speaker 6: so constantly like what the hell am I doing?
- 30:00Speaker 1: I just saw I got another call, call her? What's
- 30:01Speaker 1: your name? Are you there? Hey? Yes, what's your name? John?
- 30:10Speaker 6: You are actually on the radio. I do not have
- 30:11Speaker 6: a producer here, so I'm just answering the phone live.
- 30:14Speaker 1: You're on with Craig. What do you want to say? John? Okay?
- 30:17Speaker 1: He hung up.
- 30:20Speaker 6: I really enjoyed that, And now I'm going to tell
- 30:24Speaker 6: you something else. And this is something I really like.
- 30:27Speaker 6: I was at a radio station in Illinois. You know,
- 30:29Speaker 6: you might not care, but I care, especially after that,
- 30:32Speaker 6: and I used to do what I'm doing here. I
- 30:33Speaker 6: would just answer the phones myself. We'd let the call
- 30:36Speaker 6: screener or the producer, whatever job they had, I'd go home,
- 30:40Speaker 6: especially if they had something better to do with their time.
- 30:42Speaker 6: And Lucas, who's one of our producers here now, has
- 30:45Speaker 6: been crushing it on social media. So he's putting a
- 30:47Speaker 6: bunch of social media stuff out there, and he's more
- 30:50Speaker 6: valuable doing that. And there was a time where somebody
- 30:53Speaker 6: called in just asked me for directions. They were trying
- 30:55Speaker 6: to call a producer. They were lost. They wanted the
- 30:58Speaker 6: radio station to help them. I think it's one of
- 31:00Speaker 6: the best things about being a local radio station is
- 31:03Speaker 6: that the audience sees you as part of the community.
- 31:05Speaker 1: So I did that live on the air.
- 31:07Speaker 6: I googled it, I looked up the directions, I gave
- 31:09Speaker 6: them to somebody, and I got them where they wanted
- 31:12Speaker 6: to go, mostly off air. I think we took a
- 31:14Speaker 6: break to finish that phone call. But that was fun,
- 31:16Speaker 6: and so this is fine too. I don't mind. But
- 31:19Speaker 6: you can call, you can be a part of the show.
- 31:21Speaker 6: You can hopefully add to the conversation. And if you
- 31:25Speaker 6: do call during this hour of this radio show, be
- 31:28Speaker 6: aware that you're going directly on the air. There's not
- 31:30Speaker 6: going to be a conversation off air. First, there's going
- 31:33Speaker 6: to be an on air one and then boom, your
- 31:35Speaker 6: conversation is over all right, There's one other thing that
- 31:38Speaker 6: I do want to talk about, And I just find
- 31:41Speaker 6: this really interesting because we keep having DSA people go
- 31:45Speaker 6: viral for being lunatics, and I do think, and I
- 31:49Speaker 6: don't know how we got here, that the Democratic Socialists
- 31:53Speaker 6: of America are allowing the Democrats to falter right before
- 31:59Speaker 6: the crossing the finish line moment of potentially taking back
- 32:02Speaker 6: some power. Because the more you listen to the Democratic
- 32:06Speaker 6: Socialists of America.
- 32:08Speaker 1: The crazier they all are.
- 32:10Speaker 6: And the more I think as we get closer to
- 32:11Speaker 6: the actual midterm elections in November, a lot of people
- 32:14Speaker 6: are going to be like, wait, I don't think I
- 32:16Speaker 6: can vote for this person. I was planning on voting
- 32:18Speaker 6: for a Democrat. I was planning on, you know, voting
- 32:21Speaker 6: against Republicans if that's your mo. But I just think
- 32:25Speaker 6: that some of the things they say are too insane
- 32:28Speaker 6: and I just can't do it. Here is a Democratic Socialist.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Francis gill is her name. She was on NBC four.
- 32:36Speaker 6: I think on the West Coast having a conversation about
- 32:41Speaker 6: male Hispanic voters and their voting record with Trump, and
- 32:44Speaker 6: then all this other stuff.
- 32:46Speaker 1: It just won a bunch of roads.
- 32:47Speaker 6: You figure out how much of this you think is
- 32:49Speaker 6: true or false or just nuts.
- 32:52Speaker 12: You know, similar to the cover there be border security,
- 32:54Speaker 12: you get rid of ICE. We know that would there
- 32:57Speaker 12: be any other agency to take their place that would
- 32:59Speaker 12: secure the border or enforced border control.
- 33:02Speaker 8: I guess I don't really understand why we kind of
- 33:05Speaker 8: constantly get pinned on these particular questions when the immediate
- 33:08Speaker 8: reality of the situation is that immigration enforcement is absolutely
- 33:12Speaker 8: out of control.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Is has yah.
- 33:14Speaker 6: I'll tell you why real quick. By the way, it's
- 33:16Speaker 6: because you want to do away with all of it.
- 33:18Speaker 6: You got to ask somebody a question when their campaign
- 33:20Speaker 6: or their their messaging is let's get rid of all
- 33:22Speaker 6: this stuff, like you ask them why they feel that
- 33:25Speaker 6: this needs to.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Be needs to be addressed immediately.
- 33:28Speaker 8: And we know that in a Los Angeles like more
- 33:31Speaker 8: than almost any other city in the country. So it's
- 33:33Speaker 8: it's hard for me to take in good faith the
- 33:35Speaker 8: questions around like are you going to open the borders? Tomorrow,
- 33:38Speaker 8: when the reality is we're so far from that right now, right,
- 33:41Speaker 8: and that needs to be addressed.
- 33:42Speaker 12: The reality is Donald Trump got elected because we open
- 33:45Speaker 12: up the border.
- 33:45Speaker 1: That's the reality, and that's all well.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I mean, I would disagree with that.
- 33:48Speaker 12: Hispanic voters, male of Hispanic voters voted in record numbers
- 33:53Speaker 12: for Donald Trump. In fact, the majority voted for Donald Trump.
- 33:55Speaker 12: Democratic Party loss support with black and Hispanic and young voters,
- 34:00Speaker 12: and every indication is that immigration had something to do
- 34:04Speaker 12: with that.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You dispute that.
- 34:06Speaker 8: I would absolutely dispute the claim that we opened the
- 34:09Speaker 8: borders under Joe Biden, and I.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Would absolutely dispute the claim that that is why Donald
- 34:13Speaker 3: Trump got elected a second time.
- 34:15Speaker 8: I think what is happening is that we're concentrating wealth
- 34:18Speaker 8: in the hands of the few. That's, you know, without
- 34:21Speaker 8: a doubt, what's happening, and that's creating wildly unequal economic conditions,
- 34:25Speaker 8: that's creating a totally unstable political system.
- 34:28Speaker 6: And so then your solution to that thing that you're
- 34:30Speaker 6: saying is a problem is taking all the money away
- 34:32Speaker 6: from the people who earned it fair and square and
- 34:34Speaker 6: then giving it to people who didn't actually earn it,
- 34:36Speaker 6: like that's that's that part of the plan.
- 34:39Speaker 1: But I got to go back. I love when she's actually.
- 34:42Speaker 6: Told data, like true, actual data points that absolutely you
- 34:47Speaker 6: can go verify if you want to, and her response
- 34:50Speaker 6: is no, I don't accept it. I want to play
- 34:53Speaker 6: that part again because I love it so much, because
- 34:56Speaker 6: in so many conversations with the Democratic Socialists, this is
- 34:59Speaker 6: in fact the easiest way to win an argument. Just
- 35:02Speaker 6: give them a little bit of verifiable data and watch
- 35:06Speaker 6: how they handle it.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Here, we agree with.
- 35:07Speaker 12: That Hispanic voters, male of Hispanic voters voted and record
- 35:11Speaker 12: numbers for Donald Trump. In fact, the majority voted for
- 35:13Speaker 12: Donald Trump. Democratic Party lost support with black and Hispanic
- 35:17Speaker 12: and young voters. And every indication is that immigration had
- 35:22Speaker 12: something to do with that.
- 35:23Speaker 3: You dispute that.
- 35:25Speaker 8: I would absolutely dispute the claim that we opened the
- 35:28Speaker 8: borders under Joe.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Biden, and I would absolutely dispute the claim that that
- 35:31Speaker 3: is why Donald Trump got elected a second time.
- 35:33Speaker 6: Kind of was though, because a lot of people said
- 35:35Speaker 6: that it was one of the biggest things they cared about.
- 35:37Speaker 6: And my favorite thing to bring up when I talked
- 35:39Speaker 6: about this, even when I was doing radio and other states,
- 35:42Speaker 6: is like Southside of Chicago would have these these town halls,
- 35:47Speaker 6: and they talked to their local politicians about how broken
- 35:50Speaker 6: the system was when they were watching people with no
- 35:53Speaker 6: right to be here living for free in hotels in
- 35:56Speaker 6: downtown Chicago and getting free meals three times a day,
- 36:00Speaker 6: and they felt their community that many many politicians on
- 36:03Speaker 6: the left told them they were running to protect them.
- 36:06Speaker 6: They were running to help other people in impoverished parts
- 36:08Speaker 6: of the city. These people were getting no help at
- 36:12Speaker 6: all from the government. They're like, how are you giving
- 36:14Speaker 6: all of the assistance you promised us to other people?
- 36:17Speaker 1: Like why are you doing that?
- 36:18Speaker 6: It was such an effective demonstration of I care about
- 36:23Speaker 6: an issue when it impacts me very differently than how
- 36:27Speaker 6: I care about it before it impacts me.
- 36:29Speaker 1: If it gets to the.
- 36:30Speaker 6: Point where I myself am now being harmed, well now
- 36:33Speaker 6: I suddenly have a much stronger, maybe totally opposite version
- 36:38Speaker 6: of a set of talking points to what I did
- 36:40Speaker 6: before that, and one last thing I'll say, and then
- 36:42Speaker 6: I know, we got to take one more break before
- 36:44Speaker 6: we do something silly and try to get out of here.
- 36:47Speaker 6: With just the one hour radio show, the fastest hour
- 36:50Speaker 6: in radio, I often call it. I think that This
- 36:53Speaker 6: is the kind of thing that the Democratic Socialists of
- 36:56Speaker 6: America would inevitably accept themselves if and when their faith
- 37:00Speaker 6: with the results of their campaigning and their platform agenda ideas, like,
- 37:07Speaker 6: for example, if they actually successfully which God forbid, I
- 37:10Speaker 6: don't think it'll happen, got rid of police. Police no
- 37:13Speaker 6: longer existed. I think it takes twenty four hours maximum
- 37:18Speaker 6: for all of these people to immediately regret that, for
- 37:21Speaker 6: all these people to immediately say as soon as they're
- 37:23Speaker 6: faced with some version of wait, I can't call the
- 37:25Speaker 6: police when this happens to me, and then all of
- 37:28Speaker 6: a sudden they're like, no, no, we need the police back,
- 37:30Speaker 6: We need them back right away. It's the version of
- 37:32Speaker 6: people that say, you know that there's not certain dangers
- 37:35Speaker 6: in society, and then when they get mugged, the first
- 37:38Speaker 6: thing they.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Do is dial nine one one.
- 37:40Speaker 6: That's the first thing they do, because, like the rest
- 37:42Speaker 6: of us, if it's happening to you, then suddenly it matters,
- 37:46Speaker 6: all right, We're going to take one more break. After
- 37:48Speaker 6: we come back from the break, we are going to
- 37:49Speaker 6: have some fun, because darn it, I do want to
- 37:51Speaker 6: have fun. I don't want to just do serious stuff.
- 37:54Speaker 6: All the time, even though we only have an hour
- 37:56Speaker 6: radio show. Maybe I'll do one more news thing, but
- 37:59Speaker 6: we'll decide after this. I did just admit to you
- 38:01Speaker 6: how little I care about the news, even though I
- 38:04Speaker 6: professionally cover it on a daily basis, but quick Break
- 38:07Speaker 6: a lot more. This is Craig Collins on the Craig
- 38:10Speaker 6: Collins Show and not filling in, although I love that
- 38:13Speaker 6: he made that joke because I fill in on a
- 38:15Speaker 6: lot of stuff and some people out there seem to
- 38:17Speaker 6: think that that's my last name, but my name is
- 38:19Speaker 6: Craig Collins. This is my show on KSV AM seven hundred,
- 38:25Speaker 6: the Voice of Texas. This is the Craig Collins Show KSV,
- 38:28Speaker 6: The Voice of Texas. I have about eight minutes left
- 38:31Speaker 6: and then it's over. Even though I'm thrilled to be
- 38:33Speaker 6: with you every single day, I feel like it goes
- 38:35Speaker 6: to fest. I feel like we need more time, and
- 38:37Speaker 6: hopefully in the near future, maybe somehow, someway, we'll figure
- 38:41Speaker 6: out some additional time to be having a conversation that's
- 38:46Speaker 6: fairly one sided unless you call in and try to
- 38:48Speaker 6: be a part of it.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Some sillier things out there that I like.
- 38:51Speaker 6: Before we get out of here, Taylor Swift became the
- 38:54Speaker 6: youngest musician to be inducted in the twenty twenty six
- 38:57Speaker 6: Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame. I do think thirty six
- 39:01Speaker 6: is too young for any kind of Hall of fame.
- 39:04Speaker 6: I'm a forty year old guy. A lot of people
- 39:06Speaker 6: seem to think that that's young. A lot of other people,
- 39:08Speaker 6: myself included, seem to think that that's old. People that
- 39:12Speaker 6: are twenty years younger than me absolutely look at me
- 39:14Speaker 6: like I'm a grandfather already. So I love the middle
- 39:18Speaker 6: age version of a discussion because it depends on who
- 39:20Speaker 6: you're surrounded by as to how old you are. But
- 39:23Speaker 6: like thirty six for Hall of Fame type of stuff,
- 39:27Speaker 6: if it's not the world of athletics, where a lot
- 39:30Speaker 6: of people by forty are definitely very retired, I think
- 39:33Speaker 6: he can wait. I think there was no reason to
- 39:35Speaker 6: rush it with Taylor Swift, but she made the news
- 39:37Speaker 6: and people were talking about the fact that she's already in.
- 39:40Speaker 1: At least some hall of fames. I don't know, and
- 39:42Speaker 1: I do think people.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Are just obsessed with discussing Taylor Swift in general, which
- 39:46Speaker 6: by and large mostly annoys me. She has gotten to
- 39:49Speaker 6: the point where she's so ubiquitous that most of the
- 39:52Speaker 6: time when I hear her name, I desperately don't want
- 39:55Speaker 6: to pay attention to anything else, and there's nothing I
- 39:57Speaker 6: can do about that because she gets talked about constantly.
- 40:00Speaker 6: I also thought this was interesting. Three and ten Americans
- 40:03Speaker 6: admit to shoplifting. Thirty three percent of people, so a
- 40:06Speaker 6: little bit more than three actually say that they've failed
- 40:11Speaker 6: to wring something up, either with their own personal checking
- 40:14Speaker 6: out at one of those like automated ones, or with
- 40:17Speaker 6: some sort of cashier. Actually, a lot of people are
- 40:20Speaker 6: reminded of Jerry maguire for some reason.
- 40:23Speaker 10: I didn't shoplift the pooy.
- 40:27Speaker 6: I don't know what you think of that, But here's
- 40:30Speaker 6: what I think is really funny about this. I vividly
- 40:33Speaker 6: remember the first time that I shoplifted, and I wanted
- 40:36Speaker 6: to tell you this story in the radio. I've done
- 40:38Speaker 6: it before. I call it Catharsis. I was like four
- 40:42Speaker 6: or five years old, and I remember as what my
- 40:45Speaker 6: mom was pushing me through the end part of the
- 40:48Speaker 6: grocery store where all the candy is I plucked. I
- 40:51Speaker 6: think it was like tricks gum or something, or the
- 40:54Speaker 6: striped gum, the zebra gum. I don't remember what that's
- 40:57Speaker 6: even called now, and I was eating it, and I
- 41:00Speaker 6: remember my mom didn't notice, the cashier didn't notice, and
- 41:02Speaker 6: again I'm like five years old, and we get through
- 41:05Speaker 6: the checkout and then man notices that I have some
- 41:08Speaker 6: gum that I'm definitely not supposed to have that I
- 41:11Speaker 6: just took and nobody paid for, and I didn't seem
- 41:13Speaker 6: to care about it. I was enjoying the snack, and
- 41:15Speaker 6: I just remember the lesson that I learned in that moment,
- 41:18Speaker 6: because my.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Mom yelled at me.
- 41:20Speaker 6: She's like, you can't do that, and she turned to
- 41:22Speaker 6: the cashier and apologized, and I think the cashier kind
- 41:25Speaker 6: of laughed because I was a little kid, and my
- 41:28Speaker 6: mom started to pay for the gum, and there was
- 41:30Speaker 6: a police officer off to the side that walked up
- 41:33Speaker 6: and told me I was getting off with a warning,
- 41:35Speaker 6: but I was almost thrown in jail, which to this
- 41:37Speaker 6: day I now find hilarious.
- 41:40Speaker 1: When I was a little kid, it terrified me. I
- 41:42Speaker 1: was eating the gum.
- 41:43Speaker 6: The cop rolls up and he's like, son, you're this
- 41:46Speaker 6: close to being brought downtown. Being ready your rights and
- 41:49Speaker 6: the whole thing ending for you, and honestly, and I
- 41:54Speaker 6: guess this is the reason I like to talk about
- 41:56Speaker 6: the story. Whenever I see something like this in the news,
- 42:00Speaker 6: I think this is the thing that people so willfully
- 42:03Speaker 6: currently and certainly on the left, intentionally misunderstand about cops
- 42:08Speaker 6: and their role is just part of the community, because
- 42:11Speaker 6: like everybody in that moment in Jersey when I was
- 42:13Speaker 6: a little kid, thought the whole thing was hilarious. There
- 42:16Speaker 6: were even people, like a couple, you know, cashiers away
- 42:20Speaker 6: that were laughing as the guy was telling me that
- 42:22Speaker 6: I was getting off with a warning, as he's holding
- 42:24Speaker 6: the handcuffs and talking to this five year old, And
- 42:27Speaker 6: I just think about how today that would be received,
- 42:30Speaker 6: how like people in today's society would act as though
- 42:32Speaker 6: it's a horrible, terrible thing, and how dare you do
- 42:35Speaker 6: that to a child or somehow it's bad, And like
- 42:37Speaker 6: it taught me a lesson. I didn't steal any more
- 42:40Speaker 6: gum as a little kid. Grown up, I didn't do
- 42:42Speaker 6: that again because I thought I had just skirted jail.
- 42:45Speaker 6: And even more importantly, I think like a lot of
- 42:47Speaker 6: the parents, a lot of the adults around were just
- 42:50Speaker 6: amused by it, and the cop got to be a
- 42:52Speaker 6: part of the community and not be treated like some person.
- 42:56Speaker 6: And I don't really think Texas does this as much
- 42:58Speaker 6: as other places do. A lot of places do this,
- 43:01Speaker 6: being treated like a person who's the enemy to some
- 43:04Speaker 6: and I really do. I always love to share that
- 43:07Speaker 6: story whenever I find an avenue to do it, because
- 43:11Speaker 6: I think it's a reminder of what we used to
- 43:13Speaker 6: have in society.
- 43:14Speaker 1: And actually, I'll do that. I'll do one more.
- 43:17Speaker 6: I have other stuff, other silly like news stuff, but
- 43:20Speaker 6: I usually like to tell this one too, And so
- 43:22Speaker 6: we're going to end the show on this thought. When
- 43:24Speaker 6: I was a little kid, there was a bad thing
- 43:27Speaker 6: that happened within the family, Like there was a bad moment,
- 43:31Speaker 6: or well set of moments, I guess, some bad things
- 43:33Speaker 6: were occurring, and as a little kid, I wound up
- 43:35Speaker 6: in a cop car going to a police station. That's
- 43:38Speaker 6: usually the entirety of the story that I tell. Sometimes
- 43:41Speaker 6: listeners send me messages and social media and ask me
- 43:43Speaker 6: for more details, but I usually just leave it there.
- 43:46Speaker 6: So for the sake of the argument, let's just leave
- 43:48Speaker 6: it there. But I remember, and I was again like
- 43:50Speaker 6: five six years old, maybe even younger. It's probably like
- 43:53Speaker 6: four years old, and I'm riding in the cop car
- 43:55Speaker 6: with the cops, and there's some reasons for me to
- 43:58Speaker 6: not be in a great mood. I'm, you know, a
- 44:00Speaker 6: little bit sad as a little kid going to a
- 44:02Speaker 6: place and having some things occur. And I remember to
- 44:05Speaker 6: this day and I'm a forty year old man now,
- 44:07Speaker 6: as I said earlier, that the cop let me mess
- 44:10Speaker 6: with the light. That the cop was sitting there driving
- 44:13Speaker 6: this little kid to a police station and they were
- 44:16Speaker 6: going to have to like take some information and whatnot,
- 44:19Speaker 6: like some things. I didn't do anything bad, by the way,
- 44:21Speaker 6: but some things were gonna have to happen.
- 44:23Speaker 1: And it had nothing to do with the gum that
- 44:24Speaker 1: got stolen. I love that as a reference.
- 44:28Speaker 6: But anyway, I remember turning the light on and like
- 44:30Speaker 6: even freaking out people like and every time I did it,
- 44:33Speaker 6: I would laugh, And I was a pretty sad kid
- 44:36Speaker 6: at that moment, having a pretty good time on my
- 44:39Speaker 6: way to a tough thing. And I just I will
- 44:43Speaker 6: always be thankful to police like that, to people like that.
- 44:47Speaker 6: I think a lot of veterans I see it in
- 44:49Speaker 6: the way that they treat kids, the way they interact
- 44:51Speaker 6: with children, especially when say you go to Honor Flight
- 44:55Speaker 6: and you see people come home from their two day
- 44:57Speaker 6: tour in DC and there's kids greeting them, and a
- 45:00Speaker 6: lot of these like grizzled veterans just sort.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Of break down those things. I don't mean to preach.
- 45:06Speaker 6: I feel like I'm getting up on the soapbox at
- 45:08Speaker 6: the end of the show, But those things are so
- 45:10Speaker 6: missing in our society. This assumption that this person you're
- 45:14Speaker 6: interacting with, you, with you that you're interacting with gets
- 45:18Speaker 6: the benefit of the doubt that you can provide them
- 45:20Speaker 6: any version of you know what, I don't really care
- 45:23Speaker 6: about what your politics are, about this about you, about
- 45:26Speaker 6: that about you.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Now.
- 45:28Speaker 6: Granted, I think our society is still decently good at
- 45:31Speaker 6: doing that when it comes to children compared to adults.
- 45:36Speaker 6: But these memories that I have, these memories that are
- 45:38Speaker 6: overwhelmingly positive that involve police officers, that are one of
- 45:42Speaker 6: the biggest reason that I've always resoundingly rejected the political
- 45:46Speaker 6: narratives that exist around policing and the discussions about them,
- 45:50Speaker 6: and the DSA members agents that want to defund the
- 45:54Speaker 6: police or just full on abolish them. I've rejected all
- 45:57Speaker 6: those things because of my own personal experience in life.
- 45:59Speaker 6: And I just think so few people and maybe a
- 46:02Speaker 6: lot of people who listen to the show, are the
- 46:04Speaker 6: accepting exception, excuse me to this rule or listen to
- 46:08Speaker 6: this radio station. But I think so few people do
- 46:11Speaker 6: that anymore. We just don't give people the benefit of
- 46:13Speaker 6: the doubt.
- 46:13Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 46:14Speaker 6: I don't know why trust can't be something that we
- 46:17Speaker 6: allow someone to earn, but do provide to people based
- 46:21Speaker 6: on certain scenarios, certain things that happen. You say to yourself,
- 46:24Speaker 6: all right, this person has earned this level of trust,
- 46:27Speaker 6: and I can provide it to them, and I don't
- 46:29Speaker 6: care about some of the other things that might cause
- 46:31Speaker 6: me to think that I have to treat them like crap.
- 46:34Speaker 6: But I don't get it. And so those moments and
- 46:36Speaker 6: those thoughts to me and those stories always pop into
- 46:39Speaker 6: my mind whenever I see anything go viral. And this
- 46:41Speaker 6: one a bit of a stretch when it came to
- 46:44Speaker 6: what it did.
- 46:44Speaker 1: But that's it. That's the whole show. See you next time,
- 46:46Speaker 1: Craig Collins KSV Voice.
