Luna: Ich möchte eine Karte. Lucas: Perfect. Now if you want to ask what's playing: Welcher Film läuft? — 'Which film is playing?' Try it. Luna: Welcher Film läuft? Hmm, that was okay? Lucas: Totally fine. Welcher Film läuft? Let's put them together: you walk up and say Ich möchte eine Karte. Then ask Welcher Film läuft? Luna: Ich möchte eine Karte. Welcher Film läuft? Lucas: Exactly. Now you need to ask when it starts: Wann beginnt der Film? — 'When does the film start?' Say it. Luna: Wann beginnt der Film? Wann beginnt der Film? Lucas: Good. 'Beginnen' is the verb 'to begin.' So Wann beginnt der Film? Luna: Right. So I can ask about showtimes. Lucas: Yeah. Next, if you're with a friend: Zwei Karten, bitte — 'Two tickets, please.' Lucas: Great. Let's do a tiny scene. Imagine you're at the cinema. You say: Ich möchte eine Karte. Luna: Ich möchte eine Karte. Lucas: Then you ask: Welcher Film läuft? Luna: Welcher Film läuft? Lucas: You find out the film starts at 7. So you say: Zwei Karten, bitte. Luna: Zwei Karten, bitte. Lucas: And then you ask about row: Welche Reihe? Luna: Welche Reihe? Lucas: Perfect.
