- 0:21her chicken coop along with all her chickens.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31I have to confess, I am not the most patient person in the
- 0:34world. I farm, I do all this stuff.
- 0:36I grow vegetables, I grow flowers.
- 0:39I do all of this because it's part of the mental health
- 0:41process that I go through for myself and it teaches me so much
- 0:45about what I need to teach all of you and how I just can see
- 0:51that it pushes my patients buttons and everything else
- 0:55around it and I am not patient. My mother used to joke around
- 0:58that when they gave out patients.
- 0:59I was not someone who got in line for that and I truly
- 1:02believe that that is that is accurate.
- 1:04I did not get in line for patients.
- 1:06However, little thing I would like to share with you about
- 1:10this, it's not how long you can wait, it's how well you do while
- 1:14you are waiting. And when I recognize that it's
- 1:17not about the fact that I am actually able to wait the length
- 1:21of time. It's about what's happening
- 1:23inside of me while I'm waiting, Oh my gosh, what a concept to to
- 1:28dig into that and start to look at it.
- 1:30Because can I stubbornly sit there and make something happen
- 1:34and say, Oh well, fine, you want to see this?
- 1:36Yeah, I'll show you and I can suck it up and wait it out.
- 1:40Yes, absolutely. I will be the first person to
- 1:42admit that I can do that and I can do it really well because I
- 1:46am as stubborn as the day is long.
- 1:48And that doesn't mean that I'm doing it successfully
- 1:52internally, I promise you. Inside, I might be bashing my
- 1:57head against the proverbial steering wheel of the bus that I
- 1:59drive because I can't stand waiting.
- 2:02I can't stand to be put in that position, or I'm watching things
- 2:06go on around me and I get so frustrated with it, nobody else
- 2:10would know. But that doesn't mean that
- 2:12inside I'm not losing my mind. So why am I bringing this up to
- 2:16all of you? Because I know we all do the
- 2:18same thing. Because I know that we all have
- 2:20to wait on things. I know each and every one of us
- 2:23has something probably right now that we are waiting for and
- 2:26we're just sitting there and just dying a little bit inside
- 2:31each moment because we're waiting for it.
- 2:32And it's not right to be torturing yourself like that.
- 2:37So it's something that I am constantly trying to work on
- 2:39myself in saying it's not just about sucking it up, Kim.
- 2:45It's about sitting there and doing how well you do.
- 2:47It's about sitting there and doing it in a state of peace.
- 2:51It's about going through the process and staying centered and
- 2:55calm and keep and having to keep coming back to it.
- 2:59And for me, the whole thing about course correcting over and
- 3:02over and over again is very it's a very hard concept for most
- 3:06people to learn because you you feel like I changed it once, I
- 3:10should be fine, I should be done.
- 3:12I shouldn't have to worry about this.
- 3:13But you know what we do? We have to worry about it
- 3:16because course correction takes place over time and it took a
- 3:19long time to gain these patterns and you just don't get rid of
- 3:23them overnight. And in the process of
- 3:25recognizing that, you're able to say, OK, this has been with me,
- 3:29you know, 4050, sixty years, 30 years, whatever it might be.
- 3:34I'm going to have to do work on this more than 10 minutes.
- 3:37I'm going to have to work on this over time.
- 3:39I'm going to have to put together all the different
- 3:42tricks and tools that I can pull out to make it work.
- 3:45Because it it takes effort and it takes consistent effort and
- 3:50it takes the knowledge that while you are course correcting,
- 3:55you are going to feel off and you have to pull yourself back.
- 3:58And you have to know this is what happens while you're
- 4:02waiting, this is what happens. It's it's what the work has to
- 4:05be done. So be patient with yourself and
- 4:07recognize it's not just the sucking it up portion, it's how
- 4:11how you do it. It's it's what happens in your
- 4:14head. It's the pushing you can push
- 4:16through, but how well you push through, how much you torture
- 4:19yourself is what matters the most.
- 4:21So give yourself a break, cut yourself some slack.
- 4:24Develop your strategies that you can use to allow yourself to
- 4:28have those shifts peacefully and feel better about it.
- 4:31Because we're all going through it.
- 4:32Even me. All right, my friends, I hope
- 4:35you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 4:37Bye.
