- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites. I thankfully am not Chad Millman.
- 0:14Speaker 1: This is black Jack Fletcher filling in for Chad, who
- 0:17Speaker 1: is busy cuddled up in his mansion in Grantwich, Connecticut,
- 0:21Speaker 1: wearing his nightgown, trying to get his family to love him.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's not gonna work. Joining me today is the beautiful, elegant,
- 0:30Speaker 1: articulate Paul la Duca from California. How you doing, Polly
- 0:34Speaker 1: doing Moor black check. It's not a nightgown, it's a
- 0:37Speaker 1: mumu Oh. I like that. I like that little twist
- 0:40Speaker 1: on it. Uh So, Chad is out of action today.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Paully is here. This is our parlay Show edition of
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Favorites. Jeff Schwartz is going to be joining us
- 0:49Speaker 1: from Kansas City via telephone today, which will be interesting.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Jeff was in the house for the a f C
- 0:56Speaker 1: Championship game yesterday. Paul White, the eventful day of football.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We're gonna get to the recap of these games, but
- 1:06Speaker 1: tell me it was a roller coaster of emotions yesterday
- 1:08Speaker 1: to overtime games, controversial calls in both games. We've got
- 1:13Speaker 1: a Rams Patriots super Bowl, which should be honest with you,
- 1:16Speaker 1: was the one matchup. I really wasn't looking forward to
- 1:18Speaker 1: coming into this weekend, but we've got it. What's your
- 1:21Speaker 1: biggest takeaway from the conference title games? You know, you
- 1:24Speaker 1: you hit a lot of things on the head. I mean,
- 1:26Speaker 1: thank you. I'm both games were well, we're well done. Obviously,
- 1:32Speaker 1: the first game controlled by our late penalty, um, and
- 1:36Speaker 1: everybody's gonna point to that. And you know, being a
- 1:40Speaker 1: professional athlete before, there's so many different things you can
- 1:43Speaker 1: point to before that that that let the Rams back
- 1:46Speaker 1: in that game. And then I was hoping in the
- 1:48Speaker 1: second game when I've got it over to him, let's
- 1:50Speaker 1: just don't go with another stupid call and have two
- 1:53Speaker 1: great games be decided by ULI. Yeah, exactly, Um, what's
- 2:00Speaker 1: a catch? What's not to catch? I do think they
- 2:03Speaker 1: got some of the you know the replay, did they
- 2:06Speaker 1: got some of the replay right yesterday? Um? Yeah, it
- 2:11Speaker 1: was surprising. I mean, Tom Brady, the lesson at the
- 2:16Speaker 1: end of the day is just like this guy's just
- 2:19Speaker 1: no joke. It's just he's at another level. A PAULI,
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna interrupt you. We've got Jeff Schwartz live from
- 2:25Speaker 1: Kansas City. Jeff, you were in Arrowhead yesterday for the
- 2:29Speaker 1: a f C Championship game, A classic game, a duel
- 2:32Speaker 1: between the past and the present. What what are your
- 2:36Speaker 1: big takeaways? How was the experience? How is Mitchell doing?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Tell us everything? Well, thank you for having on my
- 2:45Speaker 1: own podcast as a guest. Pleasures mind it was well,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Um my head still heart to annoyse. It was loud
- 2:54Speaker 1: last night. I'll tell you that obviously, Um, a lot
- 2:59Speaker 1: of things. Patriots offensive line wow, Um, they need to play.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I mean it's ninety four plays yesterday, which is high
- 3:06Speaker 1: for a college game. And Tom Brady was touched like
- 3:10Speaker 1: once and the one time the other time he was
- 3:11Speaker 1: touched called the phantom. Don't touch Brady's shoulder. Um pah.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I mean today had they had thirty two plays and
- 3:19Speaker 1: second half it's with thirty one points. I mean, he
- 3:22Speaker 1: is everything that you ever wanted court. But I mean
- 3:25Speaker 1: Tom Brady sought out time last night to go talk
- 3:27Speaker 1: to him because they were you know, they he was
- 3:30Speaker 1: so impressed by what he did. So uh just just
- 3:34Speaker 1: I mean, he has, you know, disappointment obviously. And the
- 3:37Speaker 1: fact is the Chiefs are young, right, pal Mahomes is young.
- 3:41Speaker 1: They have plenty of time. You can't squander opportunities. But yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 1: there's a reason why I didn't bet on the Chiefs
- 3:46Speaker 1: in this game. And I like you best brother, but look,
- 3:49Speaker 1: I mean, you know, gambling obviously is different than playing
- 3:53Speaker 1: for your family. But this whole underdogs thing that newly
- 3:57Speaker 1: One's doing, man, it's scared, scared the hell out of me.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And it worked yesterday, right, They just came in with
- 4:03Speaker 1: the most confidence and it was back and forth in
- 4:06Speaker 1: the fourth quarter. But I can never cut out Tom Brady.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Now everyone's obviously loading up on the Patriots earlier, earlier
- 4:12Speaker 1: for this one and moved three points already pretty as Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And and Jeff, I mean you know, I was on
- 4:16Speaker 1: the Chiefs. As soon as this line came out, I
- 4:20Speaker 1: took New England. So spoiler alert, I'm on the Patriots.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Lesson learned. I'm gonna look right into the camera for
- 4:26Speaker 1: this one and just and just say I was wrong.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I give up. Okay. I've been against New England since
- 4:33Speaker 1: Week sixteen this year. I was on them all year
- 4:36Speaker 1: before that, I turned. I went against them for the
- 4:40Speaker 1: last two weeks of the regular season, the first two
- 4:42Speaker 1: playoff games. I give okay, you're better. I get it.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I won't bet against them ever again. I bet on
- 4:50Speaker 1: them before I could talk myself into Sean McVeigh being
- 4:52Speaker 1: a genius. I get it. Brady's the best of all time.
- 4:55Speaker 1: He's a better person than I am. He should probably
- 4:58Speaker 1: be president of the United States. Uh, there's nothing he
- 5:03Speaker 1: can't do. But Jeff, something I kind of want to
- 5:06Speaker 1: ask you because you're you're you know you're they're rooting
- 5:08Speaker 1: for the Chiefs. Your brother plays there, you played there.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And a conversation we were having before we came on
- 5:12Speaker 1: the air today is about the two fan bases that
- 5:14Speaker 1: lost yesterday, Kansas City and New Orleans. If I'm a
- 5:18Speaker 1: Chief fan this morning, like I'm disappointed, no doubt, but
- 5:21Speaker 1: I feel pretty good because like you've got your guide man.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I mean, Mahomes stood up in the biggest moment and
- 5:28Speaker 1: showed that that he's got it. If I'm in New Orleans,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I want to burn the city to the ground. Oh,
- 5:36Speaker 1: you know you're right. And because look, they're they're obviously
- 5:38Speaker 1: older franchiseesgrees um, and they have older players in certain positions. Yeah,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I mean, look, and I wish the NFL would not
- 5:48Speaker 1: admit they made a mistake, make anything better makes it worse.
- 5:53Speaker 1: In the NBA, they do that two minute wrestle the
- 5:55Speaker 1: report into the game, and it makes it way worse.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And you know there weren't there weren't some there weren't
- 6:01Speaker 1: obviously perfect calls in the season path game. But you
- 6:03Speaker 1: can't point to one call and say this is what
- 6:05Speaker 1: cost us. The things can literally do that. And I'm
- 6:07Speaker 1: on a big stand of like basically revisionist history of
- 6:11Speaker 1: games where you can say one play, but look, one
- 6:13Speaker 1: play they would have had first and goal inside the five,
- 6:17Speaker 1: or it would have been about the six with halfway
- 6:19Speaker 1: to have distance and under two minutes left, and it
- 6:22Speaker 1: hit the score that six years score touchdown and they
- 6:24Speaker 1: go to Super Bowl. Um, and when that happens in
- 6:27Speaker 1: that manner, uh as disappointed lose that way. But look,
- 6:30Speaker 1: let's let's take away from the Rams. They're doing thirteen
- 6:32Speaker 1: nothing in New Orleans. Drew Brees was six and oh
- 6:35Speaker 1: in the playoffs and they struck all way back. I'll
- 6:36Speaker 1: tell you why I took it out before the game
- 6:39Speaker 1: that I was. I was kind of surprised no one
- 6:41Speaker 1: had really discussed Jared Goffin never been in the road
- 6:44Speaker 1: playoff game before and man, he showed some stoves in
- 6:46Speaker 1: there that the defensive line put really well in the
- 6:49Speaker 1: second half. The Rams defense with to lead is really good.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Without him, They're not good with him, they're really good. Um,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and you gotta you gotta give it to him. Many
- 7:00Speaker 1: they took that game from New Orleans even with the
- 7:01Speaker 1: bad call. Uh, but they made the place to win,
- 7:04Speaker 1: which you have to give them credit for. You know,
- 7:06Speaker 1: I know the focus will be obviously in the bad call,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but let's give the Rams are due yeah, and and
- 7:12Speaker 1: Shorts that you're you're exactly right in net list. And
- 7:14Speaker 1: the call was as bad as it gets. I mean,
- 7:16Speaker 1: it was egregious. There were multiple fouls on the play.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I think the Rams also got away with another pretty
- 7:22Speaker 1: obvious penalty on Ted Gain earlier in the fourth quarter.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But but the Saints did everything they could to give
- 7:29Speaker 1: that game away. I mean, the first two drives them
- 7:32Speaker 1: settling for field goals instead of touchdowns. I mean, they
- 7:35Speaker 1: had opportunity after opportunity to kind of step on the
- 7:38Speaker 1: throat of the Rams and they didn't do it. And
- 7:41Speaker 1: then you know, after everything that happens, they get the
- 7:43Speaker 1: ball in overtime and they wind up turning it over
- 7:45Speaker 1: on an interception. So, I mean it's I understand the
- 7:49Speaker 1: Saints being very upset, and they have every right to be,
- 7:51Speaker 1: but you know, you gotta look in the mirror a
- 7:53Speaker 1: little bit too, uh. They do. And their offense has
- 7:57Speaker 1: struggled very much over the last couple of couple of LEAs,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and I think people are figuring out, um, that that
- 8:05Speaker 1: really have a threat and the passing out of of
- 8:10Speaker 1: of Thomas right, I mean, yeah, kamaras out the backfield,
- 8:13Speaker 1: but oh, you don't really have very much. There are
- 8:16Speaker 1: a lot of young experienced, a lot of positions. Their
- 8:18Speaker 1: offensive line is super beat up. They're really good and
- 8:20Speaker 1: healthy when they're beat up, and not the same not
- 8:23Speaker 1: not the same Wilary beat up. And you breeze, maybe
- 8:25Speaker 1: he's looking like he's forty. I mean he's forty years old.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Now you know he doesn't have this quite the same
- 8:29Speaker 1: strength to get the ball downfield. Um. And yeah, you
- 8:33Speaker 1: mentioned that they would. This loss is much worse for
- 8:35Speaker 1: them because the Chiefs still have a quarterback, um and
- 8:39Speaker 1: and the Saints go back to forty PAULI, what about you?
- 8:42Speaker 1: What are your big takeaways from the NFC title Game? Well,
- 8:45Speaker 1: the end of Sea title game. I'm with you. I
- 8:49Speaker 1: thought the Chief Chiefs played too. I'm sorry the Saints
- 8:56Speaker 1: played the game not to lose rather than to win.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But like you said to they're sort of I guess
- 9:03Speaker 1: foot on the throat. Um, I will give credit to McVeigh,
- 9:09Speaker 1: will give credit to h Gothically, they played a lot
- 9:12Speaker 1: of that game without Girly. He was on the sideline.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Then he came back in. Um, that was that was surprising.
- 9:19Speaker 1: When I get back to the a f C Championship game,
- 9:23Speaker 1: what what? What Jeff said earlier blows my mind of
- 9:28Speaker 1: the confidence of Tom Brady. We are in a millennial area,
- 9:32Speaker 1: obviously in two thousand nineteen, where I think a lot
- 9:37Speaker 1: of voices aren't heard in locker rooms, or they are heard,
- 9:40Speaker 1: but they're sort of brushed aside, where Tom Brady's always
- 9:47Speaker 1: going to be heard because he's Tom Brady. He walks
- 9:49Speaker 1: into the clubhouse, he tells everybody, I'm the baddest m
- 9:53Speaker 1: fer of all time. Um goes out there, shows it
- 9:58Speaker 1: and then goes over to my Homes the tell him
- 10:00Speaker 1: how great he played, knowing he was gonna win, How
- 10:04Speaker 1: impressed Mahomes played, basically saying, you know what dude, I
- 10:09Speaker 1: am so proud. I can't believe you put up that
- 10:11Speaker 1: good of a fight. I didn't even think it was
- 10:12Speaker 1: gonna be that close. But basically giving off the vibe
- 10:15Speaker 1: that I am gonna win, and what he puts that
- 10:18Speaker 1: to his players makes them believe, and catches that Burke
- 10:23Speaker 1: had made and catches that Lman made over and over
- 10:26Speaker 1: and over. It's like how he gets these guys perform.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And I think that when he gets in front of
- 10:32Speaker 1: them in the clubhouse and talks, they listen. Now in
- 10:35Speaker 1: two thousand nineteen, I get there's other motivational guys. It's
- 10:39Speaker 1: different now, and I just think that he can will
- 10:41Speaker 1: people to win. Where that's a that's a that's an
- 10:44Speaker 1: interesting point, Paulie, But a question that that that I
- 10:48Speaker 1: have looking back at this game is And Jeff, I'm
- 10:52Speaker 1: curious to get your take on this. Obviously, you played
- 10:54Speaker 1: the NFL. If d Ford lines up one ft be
- 11:00Speaker 1: hind where he does. Tom Brady loses an a FC
- 11:03Speaker 1: championship game, throws three interceptions and is outplayed by Patrick
- 11:08Speaker 1: Mahomes doing what he normally does to win games. Are
- 11:11Speaker 1: we sitting here today saying Brady's done? This is the
- 11:14Speaker 1: end of the Patriots dynasty. I mean, are we literally
- 11:16Speaker 1: like twelve inches away from that happening. Maybe. But here's
- 11:21Speaker 1: the thing. The Patriots don't beat themselves. Like that's what
- 11:25Speaker 1: they do, right, is yeah, I mean Edelman probably was
- 11:29Speaker 1: trying to be trying to be himself getting again that
- 11:32Speaker 1: close to the ball. But again, we the Patriots don't
- 11:37Speaker 1: screw things up, right, just like look, Seattle made the
- 11:39Speaker 1: right columns were both to pass the ball. They just
- 11:41Speaker 1: had they ran a bad play. But like, the Patriots
- 11:45Speaker 1: don't panic, right, they just sick through game plan and
- 11:48Speaker 1: they don't beat themselves. The Patriots would never be outside
- 11:51Speaker 1: in that situation, right, Like, that's so simple. Just look over,
- 11:54Speaker 1: make sure you're on side. It looked to me, I mean,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I see, I haven't seen the replay the game. I
- 11:58Speaker 1: saw tweets scaring off side. Yeah, he was on me
- 12:00Speaker 1: about that. It's like that's get something that it's so
- 12:04Speaker 1: it's just pretty stamped, just aligned properly, right, And the
- 12:07Speaker 1: Patriots do not make those mistakes. They don't do it.
- 12:11Speaker 1: They've never done it. And that's why they're in their
- 12:13Speaker 1: ninth Super Bowl. Tom Brady ninth super Bowl. Is they
- 12:17Speaker 1: don't make mistakes. They and Peter King wrote about this
- 12:21Speaker 1: in his article and we talked. We talked about it
- 12:24Speaker 1: last night. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I talked to Peter last
- 12:29Speaker 1: night about it. But I mean, the Patriots put in
- 12:31Speaker 1: eight new players on Sunday morning. You're not rare that.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I told my brother this morning. He's like, wow, that
- 12:36Speaker 1: that is so rare to put in brand new plays
- 12:39Speaker 1: on the morning of a game day. Um. And then
- 12:42Speaker 1: even even the slant to Grons in overtime was on
- 12:48Speaker 1: the place sheet and they just they put it in
- 12:50Speaker 1: and and and they called the playing the huddle and
- 12:53Speaker 1: people in the huddle were like like what what, what
- 12:55Speaker 1: do we just do? And because they saw that Eric
- 12:57Speaker 1: Berry was kind of bailing on his outside shoulder whenever
- 13:01Speaker 1: against Grown and they said they thought the insight would
- 13:03Speaker 1: be wide open. And it was like they can do
- 13:06Speaker 1: that because obviously the Caames everybody have worked together for
- 13:08Speaker 1: so long. But there's just trust that the players will
- 13:11Speaker 1: do their job. I know it's their mantra, but they
- 13:13Speaker 1: will do their job. And they take advantage of little
- 13:16Speaker 1: things here like Chris Jones Chief's three technique is really
- 13:18Speaker 1: good when he doesn't really play the run terribly well. Uh,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and so they took advantage that just kept kind of
- 13:24Speaker 1: running at him and making him pass rush and like
- 13:27Speaker 1: it just they just do little things that are so
- 13:29Speaker 1: important and they don't beat themselves, and other teams beat
- 13:33Speaker 1: themselves playing simple and that's what the Chiefs did. Look,
- 13:35Speaker 1: that play is not the reason why they lost, but
- 13:38Speaker 1: it is. It would have it would have won with interception. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: so those are the conference title games obviously. Now the
- 13:46Speaker 1: super Bowl two weeks away. We've got the Rams, We've
- 13:49Speaker 1: got the Patriots. Can anyone talk me into the Rams
- 13:53Speaker 1: winning this game? I can easily. I can easily talk
- 13:56Speaker 1: to you into that. I just won't bet it it
- 14:00Speaker 1: does get the three. I'll bet the Rams. Um look
- 14:03Speaker 1: is a big Um they look tolib will be on Edelman.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I think, um, Dalin Sue and the Patriot offensive line.
- 14:12Speaker 1: It's obviously good. I mean they're there, they have a chance. Um,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you know, they're gonna have to be a little bit
- 14:17Speaker 1: more multiple offense because if you just come out of
- 14:20Speaker 1: eleven personnel gets New England, Um, they're gonna find a
- 14:24Speaker 1: way to shut you down and has two weeks to
- 14:27Speaker 1: figure that out. Yeah, and let me ask you this
- 14:28Speaker 1: because I I need an answer here. What in the
- 14:30Speaker 1: hell is going on with Todd Gurley. I mean, the
- 14:34Speaker 1: guy had what four touches in the second half of
- 14:36Speaker 1: that game, and they're saying he's totally healthy. He keeps
- 14:39Speaker 1: like like trying to loosen up his legs. You don't
- 14:42Speaker 1: know if it's her or not. You don't know if
- 14:43Speaker 1: what what's going on, And I don't get a theory
- 14:47Speaker 1: is that I saw one theory that you really can't
- 14:50Speaker 1: run to the edge against the Saints because of Kim
- 14:52Speaker 1: Jordan's and so C. G Andersen's more of it in
- 14:55Speaker 1: between the tackles Runner like downhill Runner, and that's why
- 14:57Speaker 1: they used him more on Sunday Possible. I was I
- 15:01Speaker 1: was out and about something kind of like getting the stadiums.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I will listen to most of the game of the radio.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Um some had a chance to see, like I will
- 15:09Speaker 1: listen to basically the second and third quarters in the
- 15:11Speaker 1: radio and watched the fourth quarter at the stadium. So
- 15:15Speaker 1: I don't know, but that's what people are theorizing on Twitter,
- 15:18Speaker 1: is that people that I trust, that you know C. J.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Anderson just to come between the tackles Runner and that's
- 15:23Speaker 1: the way they rams hadn't run the football. I mean,
- 15:26Speaker 1: I hear you, but I mean Anderson had more touches
- 15:29Speaker 1: the week before in their first playoff game against Dallas,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and Gurley catches the ball out of the backfield for
- 15:35Speaker 1: them a lot too, and he just was I mean,
- 15:39Speaker 1: he went entire drives without seeing the field. I mean,
- 15:43Speaker 1: it seems odd for a guy who led the league
- 15:45Speaker 1: in touchdowns with twenty one during the regular season in
- 15:47Speaker 1: the NFC Championship game to just go missing, not even
- 15:50Speaker 1: to be on the field as a decoy. Nothing. I
- 15:53Speaker 1: just think McVeigh plays the hot hand too, you know,
- 15:56Speaker 1: and like CJ is hot right now, and like um
- 16:00Speaker 1: running between the tackles is working for them. I think
- 16:02Speaker 1: it's sort of surprised a lot of people, you know,
- 16:04Speaker 1: They were sort of like like Jeffer saying, a little
- 16:07Speaker 1: bit like the Colts back in the day, running the
- 16:10Speaker 1: stretch plays a lot, running those play action stretch plays
- 16:13Speaker 1: and then throwing the ball down the middle of the field.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And I think once they lost Cooper Cup, Okay, let's
- 16:17Speaker 1: go to c J. Anderson. Let's work the inside of
- 16:19Speaker 1: the field with him, and then the outside of the
- 16:22Speaker 1: field with Woods and the other guys, and it's worked
- 16:25Speaker 1: and I don't know, Like he seemed like he was
- 16:29Speaker 1: completely healthy on the sideline yesterday. It was weird. Yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, look, it's one of those
- 16:37Speaker 1: things where where we'll find out, Um, you know, probably
- 16:42Speaker 1: after the season there's gonna be a report by schefter
- 16:45Speaker 1: saying probably Gurley has scoped. It's gonna be some report
- 16:49Speaker 1: that comes out again meniscus or something like that. Yeah,
- 16:51Speaker 1: something that, something that this this is the way that
- 16:54Speaker 1: was it. And sometimes it's agents covering for their clients.
- 16:56Speaker 1: But um, someone's gonna come out. But look, look at
- 17:00Speaker 1: the Rams. The Rams have. They brought him through this
- 17:02Speaker 1: year in a one year deal. They brought in Peters,
- 17:04Speaker 1: they brought into it Worth last year and John Sullivan
- 17:06Speaker 1: their center. They brought. The Rams deserve credit for making personnel.
- 17:11Speaker 1: But they made the trade for Dante Fowler, who had
- 17:13Speaker 1: a huge play. Yep, he did in real quick. Jeff
- 17:19Speaker 1: made just an unbelievable point And I did it two
- 17:23Speaker 1: thousand and seven, needed meniscus surgery. Didn't have the surgery
- 17:28Speaker 1: done because I was a free agent. Didn't want teams
- 17:31Speaker 1: to know that I had a tourna meniscus because I
- 17:35Speaker 1: knew meniscus was not that bad of a surgery. I
- 17:38Speaker 1: could be back within a month. So I was hoping
- 17:40Speaker 1: that other teams would sign me than do the physical
- 17:42Speaker 1: and be like, okay, he's only got a meniscus, everything's okay,
- 17:45Speaker 1: we'll sign him. Um, the national signed me, got my
- 17:48Speaker 1: meniscus done, so I didn't want other teams to know
- 17:51Speaker 1: that I was damaged. So happens a lot more than
- 17:54Speaker 1: you think. You really pulled one over on the Nationals, brother,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I did. I feel bad? You broke my hand five
- 17:59Speaker 1: games and you just stole their money. I did? I did?
- 18:03Speaker 1: I I should have came into d C with a
- 18:06Speaker 1: mask on, I'll admit it. Oh that's that's a highlight

- 19:35Speaker 1: City for our live show. Make sure you sign up
- 19:38Speaker 1: if you haven't, there is still time to sign up
- 19:42Speaker 1: at Action network dot com slash favorites. Make sure you
- 19:47Speaker 1: go do that, or maybe you can get a flyer
- 19:49Speaker 1: from me standing in sub zero temperatures in the middle
- 19:51Speaker 1: of New York City because that's what they have me
- 19:53Speaker 1: doing here. Um can we get you with uh, Jeff,
- 19:59Speaker 1: and I could supply a lot of alcohol to warm
- 20:01Speaker 1: you up. I will need that. I will need it.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Can we get you in like black jack speedos with
- 20:06Speaker 1: the hat and the cowboy boots sort of like these
- 20:09Speaker 1: the man they got out of here in Venice, and
- 20:11Speaker 1: you could like play the guitar with all your picks
- 20:14Speaker 1: and like, I don't know, we could supplement you. It's
- 20:17Speaker 1: some kind of income. Listen, the more you're talking, the
- 20:20Speaker 1: more I like it. Um, As I told with with
- 20:24Speaker 1: Juel smoke, but people don't know if it's Juel smoke,
- 20:26Speaker 1: if it's your breath. Oh, that's true. It's a good mask.
- 20:29Speaker 1: As I told Chad, and I came to work here,
- 20:31Speaker 1: I will not say no to anything. So if you
- 20:33Speaker 1: want me out there in a speedo, then I guess
- 20:35Speaker 1: I'll do that. Um. But as we wrap up our
- 20:39Speaker 1: final parlay show of the NFL season, you guys have
- 20:42Speaker 1: been here every week doing this together, so tell me
- 20:45Speaker 1: some of your favorite moments from the show. Jeff, let's
- 20:48Speaker 1: start with you. Oh man, Um, I'm sure you guys
- 20:53Speaker 1: don't play a montage of favorite moments as well. I mean,
- 20:57Speaker 1: like we kind of have to now. Thanks Jeffy Holly
- 21:02Speaker 1: Holly like just being depressed like pre show, like like
- 21:06Speaker 1: you know, you get turns off for the show, but
- 21:07Speaker 1: we're like, you know, PAULI, how's your weekend? Oh man,
- 21:09Speaker 1: just like, oh, I don't want to talk about just
- 21:13Speaker 1: the bad an if we're touchingown come on, man, it
- 21:17Speaker 1: is core touchdown into the game. Just it's just it
- 21:21Speaker 1: was a lot of I mean, you know, look, part
- 21:22Speaker 1: of it is like we Mondays are tough, right, I mean,
- 21:25Speaker 1: we're trying to give you a nine team part of lay.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We should we probably should have done the money line
- 21:29Speaker 1: thing early season, um, because it's it's hard to do this.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I think people, um maybe thought it was easier. I mean,
- 21:37Speaker 1: we're doing a nineteen partlay on Monday morning when the
- 21:39Speaker 1: line has just come out. Um. But it was fun
- 21:41Speaker 1: to track them, you know on Sundays and we had
- 21:43Speaker 1: a text chain going and trying to figure out who
- 21:46Speaker 1: was the one to blame and mostly it was all
- 21:48Speaker 1: of us. Um, I like, I liked it was fun
- 21:52Speaker 1: all about you. Polly, What are some of your favorite
- 21:54Speaker 1: moments of the show. Yeah, it was like sports you said,
- 21:56Speaker 1: it was a ton of fun. Me bitching about how
- 22:00Speaker 1: lost and uh, the worst weekend for me was on
- 22:04Speaker 1: their FID. I woke up in the morning and I
- 22:07Speaker 1: looked at my account and I was like so depressed
- 22:10Speaker 1: because I had Cincinnati against Temple like midway through the season,
- 22:16Speaker 1: and Temple had not crossed the fifty yard line halfway
- 22:21Speaker 1: through the fourth quarter, and all of a sudden, like
- 22:25Speaker 1: put up two yards in the fourth quarter and ot
- 22:28Speaker 1: and covered and it cost me like over nine to
- 22:32Speaker 1: fifteen thousand in money. And like, I remember calling Jeff
- 22:37Speaker 1: in the morning and like or was the Jeff and
- 22:40Speaker 1: Chad that day like before, and was just telling him, like, dude,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't want to do the podcast. I think I
- 22:46Speaker 1: even tried to call it sick for my own own
- 22:49Speaker 1: podcast that day, and like I really wanted to cry.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I wanted um. I think I tried to, uh find
- 22:58Speaker 1: a phone book if they even this, and find Luke
- 23:01Speaker 1: Luke Fickle's number. I wanted to prank call him that night.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I it's funny that all of our favorite moments of
- 23:08Speaker 1: this show involved not only Paul but Paul losing UM.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I remember coming in one morning and Paul was particularly
- 23:15Speaker 1: upset about the Philadelphia Eagles and it was one of
- 23:18Speaker 1: those mornings, Jeff, as you mentioned, where Paul was just despondent,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and I remember him saying to us, I have nothing.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I don't even have a dog. I have nothing, And
- 23:27Speaker 1: he was just he sounded like he was he should
- 23:30Speaker 1: be on suicide Watch. It was just the most depressing
- 23:33Speaker 1: thing I've ever heard. Yeah, well, my issue, the issue
- 23:39Speaker 1: I have is is like when I came into the office,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I had hit a giant, giant parlay, but the parlays
- 23:46Speaker 1: don't show up on our app. And just tell us
- 23:49Speaker 1: about this a little bit, Paul. Really, I'm looking at
- 23:52Speaker 1: your page on the Action Network app. Chad would be
- 23:54Speaker 1: upset if I didn't say it's free, go download it
- 23:57Speaker 1: um And in the last thirty days, Paul, it says
- 24:02Speaker 1: you have made over seven hundred bets. Can you kind
- 24:06Speaker 1: of walk us through how that's humanly possible? What's my record? Uh?
- 24:11Speaker 1: It is three three and welcome. You're welcome over t
- 24:18Speaker 1: tell somebody else to do it over Listen. It is impressive.
- 24:22Speaker 1: And and here's the thing, they're not minus units because
- 24:25Speaker 1: I hit a parlay that's over seventy units. But for
- 24:28Speaker 1: some reason, we don't want Yeah, you want me to
- 24:32Speaker 1: show it to you. I believe you. It's just insane. Yes,
- 24:36Speaker 1: it's called hitting four teamers. It's called hitting three teamers.
- 24:39Speaker 1: You know what it's called. It's called G A M
- 24:42Speaker 1: B I L I N G. I don't bet twenty
- 24:47Speaker 1: games in the thirty games period. Okay, I don't have
- 24:51Speaker 1: a V A G A badge. I have what you
- 24:55Speaker 1: call a penis. It comes out of a man. Okay,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I said, have a penis. Actually make wagers like real
- 25:04Speaker 1: human beings. They don't give out one game for one
- 25:08Speaker 1: every two and a half days and have a security
- 25:12Speaker 1: blanket like Lionus from the Peanuts. I am actually a
- 25:16Speaker 1: real gambler and a d G like normal people, like
- 25:20Speaker 1: people that actually want to follow this app and not
- 25:23Speaker 1: need a security blanket and go and look at their
- 25:26Speaker 1: record and go, I'm twenty eight. I'm feeling so good.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Oh this is my new favorite moment from this show.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Oh God, I think I think I just dropped the mike. Yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I think you really did. You let me tell you something.
- 25:48Speaker 1: You might be unemployed later today, but you really really did.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Um wow. I agree with a lot of what you said.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And I'm up fifty three units the last seven weeks
- 25:58Speaker 1: in my bookie is literally on his way to Utah.
- 26:02Speaker 1: All right, but my question more than more than congratulations
- 26:07Speaker 1: on the on the winds and the seventy unit parlay.
- 26:10Speaker 1: If I find my bookie, I'll give you ten percent.
- 26:13Speaker 1: But how how do you just physically in put seven
- 26:18Speaker 1: bets into the app in thirty days? You just like
- 26:21Speaker 1: get on the app and you punch them fucking in.
- 26:24Speaker 1: I don't know, so wait, wait, wait how many how
- 26:27Speaker 1: many unarits have you bet on the part way to
- 26:29Speaker 1: get to seventies? Like? How many? Get the wager? Oh? No,
- 26:32Speaker 1: what do you mean? Like, like you it's a five
- 26:36Speaker 1: unit parlay, it's not obviously what you're not doing. No,
- 26:39Speaker 1: it was like I don't know, I quit playing him.
- 26:41Speaker 1: If you look, I don't even really play pilots and teasers.
- 26:43Speaker 1: And I don't even know why we put out parlays
- 26:45Speaker 1: and teasers if they go towards our record, like every
- 26:49Speaker 1: single one of them. Yeah, So like I don't know why.
- 26:52Speaker 1: So I have only played like maybe twenty throughout this
- 26:57Speaker 1: whole span. So um, I hit a four team or
- 27:00Speaker 1: three team or three teamer in a like three three
- 27:03Speaker 1: teamers and a four teamer in one day and I'm like,
- 27:06Speaker 1: oh wow, it's like plus seventy seven news. I look
- 27:08Speaker 1: up next day. I love you guys want this. If
- 27:14Speaker 1: you guys want to slide, you need to come to
- 27:17Speaker 1: our taping next week. Yeah yeah, I mean, guys, the best.
- 27:21Speaker 1: This is like Paul like before the show that when
- 27:24Speaker 1: he just like becomes like corporate during the show. Now
- 27:27Speaker 1: just completely unhinged, and it's amazing. Yeah. I'm gonna be
- 27:30Speaker 1: down on my hands and knees apologizing to Chad. Although
- 27:34Speaker 1: this is the third week in a row without Chad,
- 27:37Speaker 1: I'm starting to worry that he might be using a
- 27:39Speaker 1: new hair product and it might be like, you know,
- 27:43Speaker 1: see something's going wrong here. I don't know, but like
- 27:46Speaker 1: I feel like he's avoiding it. Jeff and I Jeff,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you have any thoughts on that? Uh? I mean was chat?
- 27:58Speaker 1: Was Chat the reason why we lost the Parlayer? Someone?
- 28:00Speaker 1: Is the way he's awarding us. I don't know what
- 28:02Speaker 1: it is. I feel like it feels like this we're
- 28:05Speaker 1: not good enough for him, Like his his mansion Connecticut
- 28:08Speaker 1: is more important than hanging out with his boy's talking
- 28:10Speaker 1: about he's trying to get his children to love him.
- 28:13Speaker 1: But it's not gonna happen. Um, well, he's got his
- 28:16Speaker 1: kids swindling kids. His other kid, like she's one kid's
- 28:20Speaker 1: charging the other kids to play Xbox. He's got a
- 28:22Speaker 1: lot of stuff going on in his house. That's amazing.
- 28:27Speaker 1: It really is incredible. By the way, I mean obviously
- 28:31Speaker 1: before we close the show, like if you had a
- 28:32Speaker 1: gun to head right now, who are you playing in
- 28:34Speaker 1: the super Bowl? Or what's what side are you playing?
- 28:37Speaker 1: And by the way, can I ask Jeff this question?
- 28:40Speaker 1: Is this Super Bowl over and under higher than the
- 28:44Speaker 1: Pro Bowl? Over and under? It might be, Um, it's
- 28:49Speaker 1: fifty eight and a half the Pro Bowl? What's the
- 28:51Speaker 1: super Bowl? Uh? What what's the Pro Bowl? Fifty eight
- 28:55Speaker 1: and a half? Yeah, the Super Bowl? I think it's
- 28:59Speaker 1: fifty seven, the fifty and right somewhere around nine range,
- 29:02Speaker 1: I think. I mean Chiefs Rams. I thought Chiefs Rams
- 29:04Speaker 1: would have been sixty. I think I saw yesterday from
- 29:07Speaker 1: from right now. Yeah, it's it's crazy, I don't think.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I mean, look, the Patriots are not explosive offense, and
- 29:17Speaker 1: the Rams have a better defense, and then then do
- 29:19Speaker 1: the Chiefs. So I actually think that it has a
- 29:21Speaker 1: chance to go under. Just like I said, I think
- 29:23Speaker 1: the Rams and they they're very kind of predictable in
- 29:26Speaker 1: their personnel, and I'm not sure you can do that
- 29:28Speaker 1: against New England. So I'm interested to see how they
- 29:29Speaker 1: trying to change what they do against the Patriots. Um,
- 29:33Speaker 1: but uh yeah, yes about my first initial we look
- 29:37Speaker 1: up at minus two, I'll probably take the Patriots just
- 29:42Speaker 1: because I can't bring myself to not bet against Tom Brady,
- 29:45Speaker 1: just like this week, but I like I bet on
- 29:47Speaker 1: the Patriots personally this week. I did not put in
- 29:49Speaker 1: an app for various reasons that I think you can understand. Um,
- 29:52Speaker 1: I just I'm not betting against them. And I was
- 29:54Speaker 1: like shocked to see Blackjack, Like you have been Tom
- 29:56Speaker 1: Brady's biggest family. Yeah, you've been on them when they're
- 29:59Speaker 1: they're been up seven and a half points to the Dolphins,
- 30:01Speaker 1: like and you're like they're gonna win anyway, so you
- 30:04Speaker 1: know they're not. But now like, like I'm off the thing.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Nine actually laid nine in that game, So I'm not
- 30:12Speaker 1: seven and a half. I'm not even I'm not even
- 30:14Speaker 1: like I'm not so I would say Patriots, but if
- 30:17Speaker 1: it gets the three, which I don't think the bookmaker's
- 30:19Speaker 1: gonna want it to be at three. I might take
- 30:22Speaker 1: the Rams at three um because then the game will
- 30:24Speaker 1: be close, but at to one and a half to
- 30:26Speaker 1: give me the Patriots, which is kind of shitty because
- 30:29Speaker 1: all the public is better than the Patriots by a million.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I don't care. I don't care what the number is.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I would lay it Patriots. Just you know what, do
- 30:37Speaker 1: yourself the favor. This is a piece of real advice here.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Do yourself the favor. Lay the juice. Don't worry about
- 30:43Speaker 1: the points, because you know what, the Patriots tend to
- 30:45Speaker 1: play close super bowls. Don't don't don't scowl around with
- 30:48Speaker 1: the points. Just lay the juice on the money line,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I said, I thought it. I thought that a way too.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I just at two, right, you might as well. You
- 30:56Speaker 1: might as well just a little bit. Yeah, I kind
- 30:59Speaker 1: of agree with that with that idea in general, because
- 31:02Speaker 1: it's such a so it's it's d of close to
- 31:04Speaker 1: me what the juice right now is in it's worth it. Yeah,
- 31:09Speaker 1: he's three and five Brady against his bread and super Bowl.
- 31:13Speaker 1: By the way, if he loses the super Bowl, it
- 31:15Speaker 1: will be the most he'll be tied with Jim Kelly,
- 31:18Speaker 1: which would be sort of weird considering he also has
- 31:22Speaker 1: five more super Bowl in Jim alright, I mean but
- 31:27Speaker 1: he and you can use for Jim Kelly. He's cancer
- 31:30Speaker 1: free again, So no, that is true. Good is Jim
- 31:33Speaker 1: Kelly's a tough son of a bitch. No, it is,
- 31:35Speaker 1: and it's a it's a good thing too. It's a
- 31:37Speaker 1: great thing. Alright, guys. On that note, let's wrap up
- 31:40Speaker 1: the final episode here of the football season of our
- 31:43Speaker 1: parlay show. Thank you everybody for listening to the favorites.
