Latest / The Keri Croft Show / Mental Athleticism Part Two. Relentless Execution of the Daily, Boring, Unsexy Sh*t.
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the Carrie Croft Show.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: It's us again, and I love it.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, so in the last solo cast, we talked about what is mental athleticism, the definition, which again, I'm gonna say it again, is the discipline practice of anchoring to a bold vision, a big bold vision, executing relentlessly in the smallest daily actions, and mastering both command of self and environmental design so you can consistently put yourself in a position to win.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: In a position to win.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: The four pillars of this system.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Again, big vision, relentless daily execution, command of self, environmental design.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Today we're gonna just bite off the relentless daily execution.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So many people fall off here.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: You know, you talk about the path less traveled.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Well, you want to go on the path less traveled, you go on the daily disciplined, unsexy path, and there's not a lot of people on it.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Especially in the world of quick fixes and uh shortcuts and instant gratification.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: You know, we have this big vision for our life, or we do anchor ourselves into a big vision, but then it's like, okay, well, I'm just gonna manifest it.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Don't get me started on this manifestation thing.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: You just you don't want to hear my hot take on it.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: It's like you're like a cat.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: You're like a cat daydreaming, sitting on a couch with a on with an Afghan looking out a window, like a little kitty cat, purring, just manifesting your big dreams.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: You know, it's that's just bullshit.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: It's bullshit if there's nothing behind it.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: So that word manifestation, it just it bugs me.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: When you can anchor your big visions with consistent daily uh effort, that is when you put yourself in the position to win.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you want to call that manifestation, you know, I guess it's just how you how you wanna how you want to word it, but just manifesting or just thinking about your big vision ain't gonna get you there, honey.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: So today we will focus in on these little daily actions.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna talk about something else that's annoying to me in this vein.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: This this idea of motivation.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: And we hear this, you know, all the time about motivation.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I'm here to to tell you motivation is fleeting.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Motivation is not something that you can hang your hat on.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: That's not the foundation of the house.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Motivation is kind of like the nice, it's the, you know, the really cool um accessory in the house that you can like move around or that shifts and changes.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: So I don't want to hear about motivation.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I don't want to hear, I'm not motivated.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Welcome, welcome.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Motivation, example, motivation and happiness.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Like, I just want to be happy.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I just want to be motivated.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Those aren't steady state things in life.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Again, those are not the foundation of the house.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Those things come and go, they're fluid.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: One day something happens and it makes me happy.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: The next day something happens and I'm not happy about it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, great.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: But the foundation of the house still needs to be there.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: So let's not talk about motivation.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: The problem is not I'm not motivated.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Let's just assume you're not motivated.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And it's doing it anyway.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: So let's go back to the conversation we just had in the previous solo cast around anchoring to your big vision.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Let's dial in specifically on the me first box.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Do you see it?
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, MF, me first.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: So we've anchored to our big vision in the me first box, and you've got, you know, whatever your priorities or your big goals are.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Um what you're gonna have to do then every single day on the granular level is to say to yourself, okay, what actions do I need to take or stop taking in order to take little tiny steps forward toward that box, toward that end.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: It's not rocket science, okay?
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: It's it's boring, it's hard, it's not fun all the time.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: And that's why people consistently kind of fall right off the cliff.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: Because as much as they say they want something, the moment life presents something more comfortable, uh, that possibly has some sort of short-term good feeling attached to it, then you're like, oh, yeah, we'll do that, we'll do that another time.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So it is really, really important if you want to be mentally athletic or practice mental athleticism, that you continue to build this muscle.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: And this is not an all or nothing, like you have to be perfect every single second or you suck.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: This is a building of a muscle over time so that you get so good at it that you're either never missing or you're barely missing.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: And so if you're never missing or you're barely missing, then you're gonna be in a much better position to get yourself to those boxes and those visions that you have for your life.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: At a high level, a person who practices mental athleticism can attach themselves, anchor themselves into the big vision.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: And then they can also take those daily boring, mundane, unsexy little steps toward those big, lofty, audacious goals.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: So it's it's as simple and as complex as that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're listening to this and you've listened to the solo cast before and you're like, gosh, I'm interested.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: This sounds great.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I just, I really don't know how to start.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: It just is overwhelming for me.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: That's exactly why we started and created the B10, because you have to start somewhere.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And what I would say about the B10 that is launching, again, our second one at the end of April, it gives you sort of an entrance into this world.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna inundate you, I'm not gonna overwhelm you with all of the details around mental athleticism.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: We're just gonna let you peek through the door and take a couple steps in and start to build tiny little muscles.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: And then if you're willing and you're starting to see results and you're starting to feel the momentum, then we'll continue to go down the path together around making you a fucking mentally athletic animal.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So the B10 is basically a 10-day challenge, and a whole group of us get together.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: There's an embrace the challenge contract that you sign, and I want you to sign it in front of someone that you love.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: We give up five specific things, all of us.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: And then there's another five things you can choose.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: There's a bunch of choices on the contract that you can decide based on your life what you want to do.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: And so there's 10 things that you're either giving up or doing within this 10-day challenge for yourself because you've committed to it.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And then the only other thing we're gonna do is basically practice some training wheels with mental athleticism and doing small things every single day that add up.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: And I will, you know, during those 10 days, we'll be very much in contact on Slack, on email, and I'll be dropping more education for you around mental athleticism.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: So 10 days in, are you an expert?
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Are you, you know, perfect?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: No, but you will feel so much more stable and ready to sort of take the next step into mental athleticism.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: So very, very excited about that.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And the thing we do within the B10 that I'll share with you that's really, really impactful.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: And it last the last group in January, it only reinforced me how great of a system this is.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: It's called the DOT system.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: And it's the simplest thing.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: But when you put it in practice, you see why people fall off.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: The dot system is simply do one thing.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: So every single day during the B10, we do something so, so small in the spiritual, mental, organizational, physical, and relational buckets.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: But once you start getting into it and you're like, oh, wait, like this is interesting.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: It truly is a mental muscle that you're building.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: So if you're curious and you do want to take a bit of a step into mental athleticism, I highly recommend the B10.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Um, very low lift, fun, interactive, uh, great community.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: And if you want to be a part of it, you can just send me a DM with your email and we will add you to the wait list.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, that was easy.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Easy peasy.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: The goal of these solo casts are to be short, sweet, and effective.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: So hopefully I was able to draw in a little bit of this daily, relentless execution for you.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And now that you've listened to solo cast one and two, what I would like for you to do now is to think about, okay, I've I've taken this big vision and I have these four boxes with these specific things in each box.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: What is it I could do on the ground level every single day to ensure that I put myself in a position to win in each of these boxes?
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: And it can be messy, just write it down.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have to be perfect.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: None of this is.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: So please, if you have questions, if you want to talk about that, send me an email, carry at the carrycroft show.com.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Send me a DM.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Let's look at what you've got and let's figure it out.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, some housekeeping things.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Very, very excited.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I just talked about the B10.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: So that's going to be happening the end of April.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: If you want to be a part of it, DM me your email.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: I'll add you to the email list and then the wait list.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Secondly, don't sleep on it.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: Mental Athleticism Live, our first one happens March 11th at noon.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: It's all about what your comfort zone is costing you.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And again, come to train, come to be interactive, bring with you whatever it is that's holding you back.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: I want this to be an interactive training experience, not some check the box call that you jump on.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So March 11th, noon, you and me, baby, sign up.

- 12:24SPEAKER_00: We would love to hear from you.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: And that is all she wrote for this solo cast.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: I hope you have a fantastic day.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: I hope you realize today how capable you are, how much control you can have over your life.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: And I want you to go out there and just be the badass beast that you are.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: And until next time, keep moving, baby.
