Transcript
- 1:00Hey, y'all, welcome to today's show. You know, I've been talking
- 1:03a lot about politics lately, so I thought it'd be a good thing just
- 1:07kind of get back to basics, you know what I mean. I was
- 1:11looking at some verses from the Bible today and I happen to be reading in
- 1:18the Book of Corinthians, and this is where Saint Paul says, brothers and
- 1:25sisters, the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and
- 1:26the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and will also
- 1:30raise us up by his power. Do you not know that your bodies are
- 1:34members of Christ? But whoever has joined the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
- 1:38Avoid immorality. Every other a person commits us outside the body, but
- 1:44the immoral person sends against his own body. Do you not know that your
- 1:48body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from
- 1:52God, and that you are not your own, for you have been purchased
- 1:55at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. Now, Obviously,
- 2:00at first glance, you know this is sort of an exhortation to morality,
- 2:06But you know, there's a really a lot more than that, and
- 2:08it's something something we really need to think more about. You know, that
- 2:15pole came out I guess it was about two years ago now saying that,
- 2:20I think it actually said about a majority of Catholics did not believe in the
- 2:23real presence of God in the Eucharist, and that is due to poor teaching
- 2:34by the Catholic Church. You know, as a convert, you know that's
- 2:38the first thing you have to wrestle with, is that the Eucharist actually becomes
- 2:42a spiritual body and blood of Jesus, because no Protestant church believes that.
- 2:50The fact that even I mean even a fraction of Catholics practicing Catholics would disbelieve
- 2:59that is a sign that our Catholic education is severely wanting. We need to
- 3:06get away from all this social justice environmental justice crap and get back to the
- 3:10basics for one main reason, well two main reasons. One is it's true.
- 3:20Jesus said it, Jesus, God, God cannot lie. Therefore it
- 3:23is true. Two, Jesus also said, those who eat His body and
- 3:29blood unworthily become guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. You actually,
- 3:35if you do not believe that is the true body and blood of Christ
- 3:40and you present yourself for communion, you actually become guilty of murder. You
- 3:46commit a mortal sin. That's nothing to take lightly. And if our priests
- 3:53and catechists and such are prioritizing some other teaching than that, they're failing us
- 4:02greatly. I mean, I frankly shudder to think how many people are risking
- 4:10eternal damnation because their priests and their early Catholic education and their catechists and all
- 4:17that have not explained to them the reality of the Eucharist. But beyond that,
- 4:29and there is much more to unpack. In this short passage from Corinthians,
- 4:35there's a very important concept, and it is the body of Christ.
- 4:40He says, do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ's?
- 4:47That is really as hard as it is to wrap your mind around the fact
- 4:53that the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. The reality
- 4:59of the bid of Christ, which is the communion of saints essentially, is
- 5:05just as deep, just as deep, and just as much a mystery.
- 5:11I guess we would say, through baptism and confirmation, we're brought into the
- 5:15body of Christ through the Eucharius, our physical bodies and souls are filled with
- 5:20the divinizing. That's a hard word for me to say, divinizing. It
- 5:28keeps trying to come out divinizing, but it's divinizing. It means to make
- 5:30divine power of God. As the old saying goes, you are what you
- 5:35eat. But consider for a moment, through the sacraments of the Church,
- 5:40we literally become a part of Jesus Christ, and He literally becomes a part
- 5:46of us. We are eating God, and God becomes part of us,
- 5:51and we are then joined into the divine. That's what divinizing means. That's
- 5:59the divinizing power of the sacraments. The more He becomes alive in us,
- 6:03the more we become alive in Him, the less attached to the things of
- 6:09this world we become, and the less separate from God we are due to
- 6:13sin. The more we become holy as He is holy, perfect as He
- 6:17is perfect, and pure enough to enter Heaven where nothing impure can enter.
- 6:23Remember he said, you have to be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.
- 6:28Only through the Eucharist. Is that even possible, absolutely impossible without the
- 6:35sacraments. And that's really the greatest miracle on which we can ever participate,
- 6:43you know elsewhere. Saint Paul urges that there be no schisms, no division
- 6:46or disagreement within the Church. Well, our Lord pray the same thing.
- 6:51He asked the Father that all Christians be one in unity. He said,
- 6:56let they be one as you and I are one. And so Saint Paul
- 7:00warns that such disagreements and disunity divide the body of Christ in essence, crucifying
- 7:08him again. Imagine how much our Lord has grieved that the one Holy Catholic
- 7:15and Apostolic Church has been so divided that millions of people who call themselves Christians
- 7:21no longer belong to the one church he founded, which is His living body.
- 7:28There are, depending on how you count them, up to fifty thousand
- 7:32Protestant denominations. There's one holy Catholic Church, and only in communion with the
- 7:41Catholic Church can one receive the Eucharist. And our Lord warned that unless we
- 7:46eat his body and drink his blood, we have no life in us.
- 7:51Just think for a moment, how how sad it is really, I mean,
- 7:58how tragic it is that millions of people who believe Jesus is God are
- 8:03not members of his body, but belong to some fifty thousand Protestant denominations,
- 8:09each of whom disagree with each other about matters of doctrine, theology, and
- 8:13all of whom disagree with the Catholic Church. And none of them millions of
- 8:18people who call themselves Christians, who believe in Jesus, none of them can
- 8:24receive the life of Jesus through the Eucharist, because the denial of the real
- 8:30presence in the Eucharist is a founding tenet of Protestantism. In fact, and
- 8:37I have been unable to source this quote. You know, I'm no fan
- 8:43of Martin Luther. I only read his stuff when I have to. And
- 8:46it was recently in something I was reading that Martin Luther admitted that he had
- 8:52been so vehemently opposed to the real presence of Jesus and the Euchors due to
- 9:01the influence of the devil. Now, if I can find the quote that
- 9:05Martin Luther literally says his attacks against the real presence of Jesus and the Eucharist
- 9:13were inspired by the devil, I think that should be the end of any
- 9:18argument with any Lutheran or any Anglican which the tenets of the Anglican beliefs are
- 9:24entirely based on Lutheranism. It's Luther just repackaged in England or you know,
- 9:31the Wesleyans or the etc. It all starts with Luther, who said that
- 9:35that's just bread and wine. It's just symbolic when Jesus said the exact opposite,
- 9:41and if he later did say that, the devil prompted that that should
- 9:46really be the final nail in the coffin of Protestantism, which I'm afraid is
- 9:54coming one way or another. And I say that because you know, I've
- 10:01been traveling around a lot over the past few years and I see empty Protestant
- 10:05churches. These are the mainlines, you know, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran,
- 10:13Baptist, Anglican, Episcopal, etc. The old You know, you
- 10:18used to go into any town in the South and you'd have the first Baptist
- 10:20church, and you'd have a second, the third, and the Free Will
- 10:22and all that. And these churches are basically hardly anyone showing up on Sundays,
- 10:31and most of them are old, most of them are your grandparents' age.
- 10:37And yeah, the the more evangelical, the non denominationals are doing a
- 10:41lot better, but I'm afraid that within another generation or two, most of
- 10:48the Protestant churches in any town, at least in my region, are going
- 10:52to close. Well that's I mean, it's it's it's horrible for the culture,
- 11:00but their culture has moved so far away from God. Meanwhile, the
- 11:05Catholic churches around here packed, I mean like standing room only three masses a
- 11:09day and they're not even you know, people talk about how the traditional Catholics
- 11:15are much more active. These are nervous ordo churches. I mean, we
- 11:18now have well at least well three masses on you know, Saturday night to
- 11:24Sunday in English speaking and one in Spanish. Maybe the Protestant churches are beginning
- 11:33to go their way. Our you know, our lady I believe is that
- 11:37Fatima said that before the end times, before the end of the world,
- 11:43all Protestants would return to the Catholic Church, and so with the Jews actually
- 11:50and the Muslims. So maybe this is a natural progression. I don't know.
- 11:56I do know that no Lutheran, Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist,
- 12:03etc. No matter how strong their faith, no matter how much the
- 12:07Bible, they really, no matter how much they believe in Jesus Christ.
- 12:09None of them can receive the bodied, blood, soul, and divinity of
- 12:13Jesus Christ in the way he designed and mandated for all those who believe in
- 12:18him, because their foundational founding principle is to disbelieve in the real presence of
- 12:24the Eucharist. I mean, this is this is the greatest tragedy of our
- 12:31time that began in the fourteen hundreds. I mean this honestly, that Christians
- 12:37would not be able to receive the Eucharist must really grieve our Lord more than
- 12:45all the sins, wars, and human errors ever committed. I mean,
- 12:48he said, do it, you know, I mean, think about how
- 12:52he grieved over Jerusalem and the Temple in his earthly life, you know,
- 12:56knowing that the gift that had been given to God's chosen people had been refused.
- 13:01The Messiah came and they rejected him. Imagine now how he must grieve
- 13:07over millions of Christians who have rejected the gift that was not merely a promise
- 13:13and a covenant, a verbal agreement essentially between God and man, but provided
- 13:16through his own suffering, crucifixion and death. As horrible as this is,
- 13:22though, I mean, just imagine how much he must grieve over are Catholics
- 13:26who doubt the real presence of the Euchrist, and who even take it for
- 13:31granted, just going through the motions of communion without considering the miracle they receive
- 13:35under the form of bread and wine. This Jesus Christ actually present in front
- 13:39of you. You know, there's so many I won't even try to name
- 13:46them, but so many saints have written at length about how Heaven and Earth
- 13:50come together on the altar during the Holy Mess, how all the angels and
- 13:54saints are with us in true communion, celebrating the euchriust with us. They
- 14:00say that if we could just once perceive this great cloud of witnesses, as
- 14:03Saint Paul wrote, he said, do you not realize we are surrountied by
- 14:07so great a cloud of witnesses? And to understand the true spiritual reality of
- 14:13what was before us, we would be so struck with all and reverence we
- 14:18would each become saints instantly. Meanwhile, I mean, too often, you
- 14:24know, and this is true of me, is to all of us.
- 14:28We sit there and our minds water. You know, we're distracted by our
- 14:33personal problems or interpersonal problems. We think about arguments we've had with someone,
- 14:37or a conversation we need to have with someone, or something that happened yesterday.
- 14:41You know. For me, you know, I love food. I
- 14:43love to eat, so I may even be planning lunch, you know,
- 14:46I'm thinking about what I'm going to cook when I get home. Even you
- 14:52know, God forbid people texting on their phones. If there's one thing that
- 14:58is probably the most disrespectful thing I've seen is when people are sitting there in
- 15:05mass checking their you know, their Facebook and Twitter pages or texting on their
- 15:09phone. That's honestly, phone should be collected at the door. They should
- 15:16not be allowed in. If someone has an emergency, there should be a
- 15:20phone there, should be able to run somebody's having a heart attack, okay,
- 15:24whatever, But phones should be mandated to be turned off or silenced at
- 15:30the very least. I mean, of course, maybe if you had a
- 15:33sick relative or a child at home and they need to contact you in case
- 15:35of emergency. Okay, you know, granted that was you know, for
- 15:41the last two thousand years, people didn't have cell phones. But if someone's
- 15:45going to argue that they have to have their phone on them at least mute
- 15:48it in silence it, and for Pete's sake, don't be sitting there texting
- 15:54during mass. That is is horrible. I'm sure the worst things you could
- 15:58be doing, but it's hard to think of any that would be just not
- 16:03out absolutely outrageous. Obviously, but I mean, according to what the saints
- 16:11have witnessed, you know, those who actually can see the reality of the
- 16:15spiritual world in front of them. If we could only once perceive the reality
- 16:21of what was going on in each and every mass in the most rural,
- 16:26poorly attended church with the worst priests, I mean, someone who's just going
- 16:30through the motions. Even it doesn't matter if how good the priest is,
- 16:33that's still the Lord that's present. They say that if we saw at one
- 16:38time, we would just drop to the floor, prostrate on the ground,
- 16:41face down on the floor of the church, just weeping and begging for forgiveness,
- 16:47And well, why not. You're literally present at the foot of the
- 16:51Cross at Calvary, the greatest miracle that's ever happened in the world. Because
- 16:57God is not bound by time and space. At every single Catholic Mass,
- 17:04in every single Catholic church, in the world, every hour of the day,
- 17:10every minute of the day, is happening right before your eyes, more
- 17:15real than the pew you're sitting on. So the more we realize that,
- 17:29the more we will truly be in Him, and He will be in us,
- 17:33and we will never wish to offend him or take it him for granted.
- 17:38And then we will say with true humility, not just going through the
- 17:42motions. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter into my roof,
- 17:47But only say the word, and I shall be healed. My soul
- 17:49shall be healed. I as a convert, I would like to urge my
- 18:00cradle Catholic brothers and sisters to pick up your Catechism and read about the real
- 18:07presence of God of Jesus in the Eucharist, and ask yourself what do you
- 18:17believe? And if you're not entirely convinced, maybe it's time to read,
- 18:25you know, some of the works of the saints. Talk with your priest,
- 18:29go over it again, and don't don't receive the Eucharist if you don't
- 18:36believe that. That's a mortal sin. And you know you shouldn't do that
- 18:41because you want, we all want to go to heaven right. I think
- 18:47we really all need to be sort of apostles of the Eucharist, explaining the
- 18:51real presence because all those empty Protestant churches I'm seeing now we're once filled with
- 18:59devout christian I mean, they weren't Catholic, they couldn't receive the Eucharist,
- 19:03but for some reason they're falling away, maybe because the real presence of Jesus
- 19:08is not in that church. Now, Jesus is the word of God.
- 19:12The Bible is the word of God. Jesus sins in that church, but
- 19:15his body, blood, soul, and divinity is not. And you know,
- 19:22we can either let the world go to hell around us, or we
- 19:25can reach out and talk with our Protestant brothers and sisters who have perhaps fallen
- 19:30away or are not as active in their churches anymore, and explain to them
- 19:36what we believe and why, and open the Bible and say, look,
- 19:38here's what Jesus said. Look, I know this is what you were taught.
- 19:42You know, when I was confirmed as a Methodist, I was taught
- 19:45that communion was all symbolic. That's not what Jesus said. You know,
- 19:52come to church with me. What do you got to lose? Sit on
- 19:55the pew. You don't go up for communion, or if you do,
- 19:56you can go up for a blessing. Only people who are members of the
- 20:00Body of Christ confirmed into the Catholic Church can receive the Eucharist. Explain to
- 20:03them it's the same as any other sacrament. I mean, it's you know,
- 20:08the difference between a valid marriage and adultery. Only the two that are
- 20:14married, you know, can be together. Anyone else entering into that relationship
- 20:18is not allowed. Maybe you know God willing things. You know, God
- 20:32can use the worst circumstances and the most evil people for good and he does.
- 20:37I mean, he used Judas to bring us the Messiah, you know,
- 20:41to bring us salvation. He constantly uses bad people and bad actions to
- 20:49bring about good results. As our country is becoming increasingly immoral, I mean
- 21:00we are like literally living in Sodom and gomra now you know, I don't
- 21:03have to spell it out. And the Protestant churches are emptying, and I
- 21:11do mean the mainline ones, I know, the very evangelic or are doing
- 21:15very well. And whatever those megachurches are, I don't even I'm sorry those
- 21:22Joel Olstein and such. That's not even a valid Christian doctrine in any way,
- 21:27shape or form. I mean, he may as well be Oprah.
- 21:30I mean we'll get into that maybe some other time. But he is not
- 21:34teaching the words of God. He's not teaching the Bible or Christian morality.
- 21:40It's that feel good prosperity doctrine, and that's not of God. You know,
- 21:48God promise you're going to suffer and be poor if you follow me.
- 21:52He did not promise you're going to be happy and be rich and smile all
- 21:55the time. That's going to run its course. But like Jesus said when
- 22:00he looked at Israel, he said, the sheep have no shepherd. Maybe
- 22:07the sheep have to lose their shepherds before they can be brought back into the
- 22:11One True Fold. And if that be the case, it's going to be
- 22:17up to you and me, every one of us, to talk with respectfully
- 22:22and lovingly our Protestant brothers and sisters and family members and invite them to Mass.
- 22:30And they're probably not going to want to go at first. But bottom
- 22:37line is if they want to be Christian God Church and all the Protestant churches
- 22:40are closing, they may not be left with much many options. I mean,
- 22:45there are many towns I've been through where you've got these huge old Baptist,
- 22:51Methodist, Presbyterian churches, etc. Lutherans especially, And you know,
- 22:57when I was a kid, those parking lots were full, and now you're
- 23:00going to Sunday morning there may be fifteen cars and most people getting in and
- 23:03out of them are elderly. I know, generation to those stores will be
- 23:08closed as we turned into a parking lot or you know whatever, hudhousing.
- 23:15The way things are going, Let's take care of the only church we've got
- 23:21and may we can bring people back in, but we have to know why
- 23:23they should be there. So anyway, y'all, I mean, y'all,
- 23:29have a great evening. I will talk to you tomorrow, and in the
- 23:32words of Saint Padre Pio, pray, hope and don't worry.
