- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's Best music is Magazz ninety four nine And
- 0:04Speaker 1: welcome to another episode of Scotti and Abby Unfiltered. What
- 0:08Speaker 1: a weekend. It feels good to be back, but also
- 0:11Speaker 1: when so much goes down, it's almost hard to step
- 0:13Speaker 1: back into reality. And I just got back from my
- 0:16Speaker 1: hometown via beach. Very exciting, very fun, getting to see family,
- 0:20Speaker 1: getting to see friends that I haven't seen in so long.
- 0:22Speaker 1: But it was all to celebrate a buddy's wedding. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: one of the craziest realizations, especially when you've been friends
- 0:28Speaker 1: with people for so long and you've seen them at
- 0:31Speaker 1: their teenage years and now you see them with their partners.
- 0:34Speaker 1: It's a weird mind thing that goes down where you
- 0:37Speaker 1: realize how quick time is going by, but also how
- 0:40Speaker 1: special those relationships are. And so we were celebrating one
- 0:43Speaker 1: of our good buddies getting married, and like it's like
- 0:45Speaker 1: the whole middle school crew back together. And it was
- 0:48Speaker 1: truly such a celebration, but it was one of the
- 0:52Speaker 1: biggest moments in my own relationship as I was there,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and so one of the things that we did won't
- 0:59Speaker 1: talk about this right away, but I got to take
- 1:01Speaker 1: my girlfriend over to my hometown for the first time,
- 1:04Speaker 1: huge and the adventure that we got to go on
- 1:07Speaker 1: and got to appreciate. It's just something that I will
- 1:09Speaker 1: hold so near and dear to my heart for forever.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I want to dive into that in just a little bit.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But I also want to dive into some of the
- 1:16Speaker 1: things that you got into over the weekend, Abby, with
- 1:19Speaker 1: hanging out with Alexia and all the things that you
- 1:21Speaker 1: all were doing there, because it looks super fun. But first,
- 1:24Speaker 1: we didn't get to talk about this on the show.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I wasn't here for Taylor Swift's new release for the
- 1:28Speaker 1: new song that she had for Toy Story five.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yes, I knew it. I knew you.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I knew it. I knew you. And I was talking
- 1:33Speaker 1: about it on the show last week, and I thought
- 1:35Speaker 1: it was going to be this ballad where it was
- 1:37Speaker 1: so sad and sappy and talking about her childhood and yeah, she's.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Really good at the tear jerking songs, and I felt
- 1:44Speaker 3: like she was talking. I felt like, honestly, it was
- 1:48Speaker 3: a song she had written about Joe Alwyn that she
- 1:50Speaker 3: was just sort of repurposing for Toy Story five as
- 1:52Speaker 3: a way to deflect from it.
- 1:53Speaker 2: So he didn't get a bunch of backlash.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Okay, that's what I wanted to know, because you're the like,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I don't know those little details. Yeah, I was the
- 1:59Speaker 1: swifty What about that? I just heard the melody and
- 2:02Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, this is kind of a fun song.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It wasn't sad, it wasn't sappy. I did not cry.
- 2:06Speaker 1: No part of it felt emotional. I just kind of
- 2:08Speaker 1: like the melody of the chorus. So it is about
- 2:11Speaker 1: an ex is what you gathered in the rest of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the Swifties gathered too.
- 2:13Speaker 3: In my opinion, I actually haven't seen a lot of
- 2:15Speaker 3: people talking about the fact that it sounds exactly like
- 2:18Speaker 3: a song she would.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Have written about Joe A Went.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Maybe I just haven't gotten on that side of TikTok
- 2:21Speaker 3: because I'm still sifting through all the heated revery and
- 2:23Speaker 3: off campus edits.
- 2:24Speaker 2: But she has a couple of.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Lines that remind me of tracks that she has written
- 2:28Speaker 3: for her ex Jo Awen in the past.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And she always I always feel like I know.
- 2:33Speaker 3: She's referencing Joe Awen when she talks about the color blue,
- 2:36Speaker 3: because there's so many songs that, in my opinion, she's
- 2:38Speaker 3: written for him where she references him is the color blue,
- 2:42Speaker 3: his feelings is the color blue, Their feelings together as
- 2:44Speaker 3: the color blue. So there's a line in her new
- 2:47Speaker 3: song where she does reference the color blue. And that's
- 2:50Speaker 3: what I'm like, Oh, I feel like maybe she wrote
- 2:51Speaker 3: this about seeing Joe Allwin after a year, and maybe
- 2:54Speaker 3: they both moved on and they're fine. And I think
- 2:57Speaker 3: I also feel that way too, because I think sometimes
- 3:00Speaker 3: she uses her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff as her mouthpiece
- 3:04Speaker 3: for things that she doesn't want to come from her,
- 3:07Speaker 3: but she wants out there. And so Jack Antonov did
- 3:10Speaker 3: this random interview a couple like a week ago. Maybe
- 3:13Speaker 3: he was talking about how when a relationship ends, it
- 3:16Speaker 3: doesn't necessarily need to be well.
- 3:18Speaker 2: He said, she said he's in the wrong, she's in
- 3:20Speaker 2: the wrong.
- 3:20Speaker 3: It can just be we had this really beautiful life
- 3:22Speaker 3: together and now we don't needymore. And he said something
- 3:26Speaker 3: along those lines, and I'm like, I think that timing
- 3:27Speaker 3: is really interesting considering that she's now released this song
- 3:31Speaker 3: that for me sounds like it was written for Joe
- 3:34Speaker 3: but was maybe pivoted to Toy Story five eggs. It's
- 3:36Speaker 3: great for Toy Story five. It's great marketing for them.
- 3:38Speaker 3: But also it's a way to kind of deflect any
- 3:40Speaker 3: tough feelings towards Joe, And I feel like she did
- 3:43Speaker 3: a really good job of kind of deflecting any heat
- 3:45Speaker 3: at Joe towards Mattie Ealy.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Oh okay, because that's the part that gets me so confused.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But I do like that mature realization of when your
- 3:53Speaker 1: relationship ends, it doesn't have to be this massive, dramatic
- 3:57Speaker 1: hating each other moment. It could literally just be two
- 4:00Speaker 1: people going in different directions.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I think a lot of times people put anger
- 4:05Speaker 3: on their relationships or he said, she said, also like
- 4:09Speaker 3: cheating aside, or like infidelity or all those things aside,
- 4:11Speaker 3: Like unless someone actually did something horrible, that's different. I
- 4:15Speaker 3: think people put those negative feelings on a breakup because
- 4:17Speaker 3: it's easier than feeling one hundred percent sadness for something
- 4:21Speaker 3: good ending.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yes, it's way easier to walk away when you're mad, Like,
- 4:24Speaker 1: it's so much easier when somebody does something stupid you
- 4:27Speaker 1: almost hope they do because it's easier to be like,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know, bleep you I'm out. Yeah, then you don't
- 4:31Speaker 1: have to face the reality, like sometimes it just ends.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Sometimes it just wasn't the right thing. You guys needed
- 4:37Speaker 1: each other in that moment, but now as life has
- 4:40Speaker 1: moved on, you don't that's not what you wanted for
- 4:42Speaker 1: the rest of your life.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah. I also feel like when a relationship's wrong, it
- 4:45Speaker 3: brings out the worst in two people, and so it's
- 4:48Speaker 3: tough to harp on that because I do think, yeah, sure,
- 4:51Speaker 3: you guys could have both acted out in the end,
- 4:53Speaker 3: whoever the relationship is about. But I also think maybe
- 4:55Speaker 3: that has to do a lot with the fact that
- 4:56Speaker 3: you guys just weren't fitting and we're triggering each other
- 4:59Speaker 3: in a different ways. That brought out the worst in
- 5:01Speaker 3: you and the worst in him, and that's why it
- 5:03Speaker 3: seemed like this person is such a villain. But really,
- 5:05Speaker 3: like you guys are just both poking at each other
- 5:07Speaker 3: in areas where you're wounded or whatever, and that's why
- 5:10Speaker 3: ultimately your relationship ends.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And I think it's sometimes we sabotage ourselves because we
- 5:14Speaker 1: want that person to either have something to lash out
- 5:16Speaker 1: at us about, to be mad and make the decision,
- 5:18Speaker 1: or for us to be able to lash out. Because
- 5:21Speaker 1: I definitely have seen that in friends, I've seen that
- 5:22Speaker 1: in myself where it's like, you know it's not the
- 5:24Speaker 1: right fit, so you're gonna sabotage it yourself. You're not
- 5:26Speaker 1: going to act your best self. You're not going to
- 5:28Speaker 1: do the things that you might have done at the
- 5:29Speaker 1: beginning because you're waiting for someone to say, well, you're
- 5:32Speaker 1: just not the same. I can easily walk away now
- 5:34Speaker 1: instead of having the mature conversation of this is going
- 5:37Speaker 1: to hurt no matter what, I need to walk away. See,
- 5:39Speaker 1: I didn't have any idea all that was with that song.
- 5:42Speaker 1: That's cool, and I think just be your thoughts.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Again, it's just my opinion. I heard it and I
- 5:45Speaker 3: was like, this isn't about Jessie.
- 5:46Speaker 1: What the heck?
- 5:47Speaker 2: I was like, this is about Joe, about a different
- 5:49Speaker 2: j name.
- 5:50Speaker 3: So I think it's a very clever and thoughtful move
- 5:52Speaker 3: if that is what she chose.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I think I really worry.
- 5:55Speaker 3: That people are going to hear this and be like,
- 5:56Speaker 3: Abby's giving your crap for talking about next boyfriend. No,
- 5:58Speaker 3: I actually think it's very clever moved if that is
- 6:01Speaker 3: what happened, that she wrote this song about seeing her
- 6:03Speaker 3: acts of six years after maybe a year and they're
- 6:05Speaker 3: both fine and they moved on and she didn't want
- 6:08Speaker 3: any conversation headed his way, so maybe she found a
- 6:10Speaker 3: movie to put it in.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think it's cool to see if you
- 6:13Speaker 1: are in that position where it's like when you find
- 6:15Speaker 1: the right person and you see an ex. I was
- 6:17Speaker 1: just talking to friends about this because, like I said,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I was at a wedding with a bunch of my
- 6:21Speaker 1: buddies from high school and we got on the conversation
- 6:23Speaker 1: of course of like high school relationships, college relationships, and
- 6:28Speaker 1: it's very fascinating when you see those people that you
- 6:31Speaker 1: were once entangled with getting married, having kids, moving onto
- 6:36Speaker 1: that chapter and that feeling of like either being hurt
- 6:40Speaker 1: or jealous that goes away when you find the right person.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It's kind of wild, and I think that would be
- 6:46Speaker 1: a position that Taylor would be in. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I could be cool with my ex because now I've
- 6:50Speaker 1: found my person. Yeah, and I'm not salty anymore because
- 6:53Speaker 1: I knew all of it led to this, And.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Ultimately I think Joe is probably happier.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Like I mean, dating Taylor, I'm sure was great for
- 6:59Speaker 3: a while in a great relationship.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It did great things for his career.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I think maybe two good of things for his career,
- 7:04Speaker 3: because I don't think he necessarily wanted to be as
- 7:05Speaker 3: famous as he got, and now he gets to go
- 7:08Speaker 3: off and live a b less celebrity life and have
- 7:11Speaker 3: thousands of dollars in royalties from the songs that he's
- 7:14Speaker 3: written with her, and she.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Can go be with Chatty.
- 7:17Speaker 1: There you go. I like that B level. Did you
- 7:19Speaker 1: ever want to be like an A level celebrity?
- 7:21Speaker 2: I think everybody goes through a phase where you think
- 7:23Speaker 2: it'd be fun.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And then you realize that it would be absolutely exhausting.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It would be exhausting. I think it kind of depends.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I think as we're in the creative industry that I
- 7:32Speaker 3: associate that level of recognition with you're really good at
- 7:35Speaker 3: your job, and I think ultimately, as you get older,
- 7:38Speaker 3: I appreciate recognition for being good at the things that
- 7:42Speaker 3: I like to do. But yeah, I think that kind
- 7:44Speaker 3: of constant like looking over your shoulder would get tiring.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, I want to be the best at what
- 7:49Speaker 1: I do, and I would always have that image of
- 7:51Speaker 1: like what it would be like to be an A level.
- 7:53Speaker 1: But the thing that always makes me go wait a
- 7:55Speaker 1: second is the security risk. It's literally like what we
- 7:58Speaker 1: just saw last week, Like Brina Carpenter, we had this
- 8:00Speaker 1: little story that if people are trying to break into
- 8:03Speaker 1: our house, that has to be terrifying. I hear the
- 8:05Speaker 1: wind blow the wrong way when I'm sleeping, and I'm like,
- 8:07Speaker 1: oh my god, somebody's trying to break in. Who wants
- 8:09Speaker 1: my stuff? Nobody had but nothing.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Here's the trade off is you still have the money
- 8:12Speaker 3: and resources to protect yourself, where like anybody could still
- 8:15Speaker 3: break into your house and you're just a ormy, you
- 8:17Speaker 3: know what I mean, Like someone could still try and
- 8:19Speaker 3: break into your house and you don't have.
- 8:21Speaker 2: The benefits of being an A list lover ory with
- 8:23Speaker 2: all the money.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and I guess you would have to be really
- 8:25Speaker 1: good about handling like rumors and things said about you,
- 8:28Speaker 1: because there's always something said about these people, whether it's
- 8:31Speaker 1: true or not. It's just put out there and it
- 8:33Speaker 1: could technically tank your career. But people are always trying
- 8:36Speaker 1: to find that one thing to like tear you down
- 8:38Speaker 1: or put out in the headlines.
- 8:40Speaker 2: But I still think if you're good at your job.
- 8:42Speaker 3: That's what I've learned from Cancel culture that if people
- 8:44Speaker 3: enjoy the work that you do. I mean, look at Kanye,
- 8:48Speaker 3: like somebody invited me to his concert a couple of
- 8:50Speaker 3: weeks ago. I'm like, this guy has said every slur,
- 8:54Speaker 3: has done every like, has done everything wrong in the
- 8:57Speaker 3: book except for maybe murder, you know what I mean.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I mean, I can't speak to his personal life on
- 9:00Speaker 3: other things that he's done, but just in terms of
- 9:02Speaker 3: like cancelable and people are still willing to pay to
- 9:04Speaker 3: go to his concert, that part's crazy and maybe that's
- 9:06Speaker 3: a man thing. Like we people so easily canceled Taylor
- 9:09Speaker 3: Swift for like less less than that, but she's so
- 9:13Speaker 3: good at her job that ah, she wasn't in the
- 9:15Speaker 3: wrong in that situation, but b she's so good at
- 9:17Speaker 3: her job people are still sticking around. Yeah, I mean,
- 9:19Speaker 3: like we can say cancel culture is rampant, which it is,
- 9:23Speaker 3: and people are trying to cancel people, but I think
- 9:24Speaker 3: ultimately people like what you do, you can move past it.
- 9:27Speaker 1: That's kind of like we'd talked a little bit about
- 9:29Speaker 1: like Morgan Wallen, like he's done some wild thing, not
- 9:31Speaker 1: horrible things.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, well he's done.
- 9:33Speaker 1: A couple of pretty awful things, but recently I'm talking
- 9:36Speaker 1: about like recently on stage, like flipping a piano. I
- 9:39Speaker 1: just talked about this on there, like throwing a security
- 9:41Speaker 1: guard's phone because he was filming Morgan, which you're the
- 9:43Speaker 1: biggest celebrity in the country music world. Of course somebody's
- 9:46Speaker 1: gonna film you.
- 9:47Speaker 2: You gotta get used to being filmed at some points.
- 9:48Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking. But like all of these things,
- 9:50Speaker 1: like it won't matter. His songs are so good that
- 9:53Speaker 1: like it just nothing will take him down, I know,
- 9:55Speaker 1: which I guess that's the difference in the music world,
- 9:58Speaker 1: where it's like, well, we connect so deeply with songs
- 10:00Speaker 1: that we've never written, or maybe you don't have exactly
- 10:02Speaker 1: the lines that natural life, but it sounds so good
- 10:05Speaker 1: and it touches the part of us that we're like,
- 10:06Speaker 1: you know what. I don't necessarily like the artists, but
- 10:09Speaker 1: I like the song.
- 10:10Speaker 2: People still stream Chris Brown.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I mean literally we yell at women for like not
- 10:14Speaker 3: smiling at children, and then Chris Brown literally decks what
- 10:17Speaker 3: was it, Rihanna? Yeah, and people are like, oh, I'll
- 10:19Speaker 3: still listen to him. Kiss Kiss is a kind.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Of a banger.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I mean, it is wild, it is crazy.
- 10:24Speaker 3: But I think ultimately, when it comes to cancel culture,
- 10:26Speaker 3: if you keep if you apologize, take accountability, and still
- 10:29Speaker 3: be good at your job, I think you can.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Move past it. That's the biggest thing. It's like, if
- 10:32Speaker 1: you could apologize, if you could truly look someone in
- 10:36Speaker 1: the eye and know that they're deeply sorry for the
- 10:38Speaker 1: mistakes that they've made. Because I'm not expecting people to
- 10:40Speaker 1: be perfect. I don't need you to be perfect, but
- 10:42Speaker 1: I need you to recognize the wrongs that you have
- 10:44Speaker 1: done so we could all see that it's not okay.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Bring back celebrity screen messy. I think that's why I've
- 10:50Speaker 3: been kind of into Love Island recently, Love Island USA
- 10:53Speaker 3: because I can't watch the UK cause I don't have
- 10:54Speaker 3: a VPN. But Love Island USA right now is so trashy,
- 10:58Speaker 3: and I'm kind of enjoying it because I'm, like, know what,
- 11:00Speaker 3: it is really interesting just to watch people engage in.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Total debauchery, honestly. I mean when I could think back
- 11:06Speaker 1: to like childhood, like watching like the Jersey Shore, like
- 11:08Speaker 1: growing up like that felt messy to me as like
- 11:10Speaker 1: a teenager. Yes, that was like the first time I
- 11:12Speaker 1: was ever watching like adults just go buck wild in
- 11:15Speaker 1: the wild.
- 11:16Speaker 3: And I'm I just finally got into the Summerhouse drama
- 11:18Speaker 3: where I watched the reunion and I'm like, you know what,
- 11:20Speaker 3: I'm glad they're being messy. Would I rather them come
- 11:22Speaker 3: on and have a boring reunion where it's like we're
- 11:24Speaker 3: all friends.
- 11:24Speaker 2: No, like you should cheat on each other.
- 11:27Speaker 3: You guys are celebrities. You guys have no purpose in life.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You have to feel something somehow.
- 11:31Speaker 1: And it also is all for the TV, like it's
- 11:33Speaker 1: to grab your attention. They do a great job of it,
- 11:36Speaker 1: and I think if we're going to take that and
- 11:38Speaker 1: extend it into reality, you don't have to get along
- 11:40Speaker 1: with everyone. You're never supposed to. Even in the offices
- 11:43Speaker 1: that we work in. You don't need to like everyone. Now,
- 11:46Speaker 1: the TV side is that you actually start fights with
- 11:48Speaker 1: those people. Yeah, hopefully that doesn't happen in your office,
- 11:51Speaker 1: but I think it does go to show the bigger
- 11:53Speaker 1: picture of like, you're not gonna get along with the
- 11:54Speaker 1: entire group. There are gonna be little bits of drama
- 11:57Speaker 1: that happen in your friend group. Somebody's gonna talk a
- 11:59Speaker 1: little bit of shit, is going to start a fight.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Someone's going to try your relationship or your friendship, and
- 12:04Speaker 1: the TV just takes it to the I'm gonna say
- 12:06Speaker 1: something or do something about it.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Well, I think when you cheat on your best friend's
- 12:09Speaker 3: ex boyfriend or cheat noah, I guess you're not technically cheating.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I guess when you sleep with your best friend's ex boyfriend.
- 12:16Speaker 1: That's kind of on you that part, and I race.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I will say that.
- 12:19Speaker 3: So that's what I'm talk about specifically, Like the Amanda
- 12:21Speaker 3: Batula drama with Sierra. I was watching that and I
- 12:23Speaker 3: was like, dang, Sierra is pissed. And I do not
- 12:26Speaker 3: blame her.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Absolutely not, like if you have like because that goes
- 12:29Speaker 1: on to the breaking trust in multiple levels, like not
- 12:31Speaker 1: only could you not trust a relationship, and now you
- 12:33Speaker 1: can't trust your friendship.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean it was her ex boyfriend, but
- 12:36Speaker 2: I mean it's a little shitty thing to do.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, is that's off limits?
- 12:40Speaker 3: How would you feel if one of your best friends
- 12:42Speaker 3: slept with one of your exes?
- 12:43Speaker 1: I would absolutely hate that, You'd be fair.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It's just one of those things you don't do.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I mean that did, like technically that did kind of
- 12:49Speaker 1: happen to me, like years years, years ago, and I
- 12:51Speaker 1: remember that when I caught when that, Like you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: me and a girlfriend broke up and all of a sudden,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I hear like a good buddy of mine is like
- 12:58Speaker 1: trying to get with that. I'm like, what the went
- 13:01Speaker 1: home immediately handled business not in the right way, but
- 13:05Speaker 1: it was one of those stab in the back things
- 13:07Speaker 1: of that person is a no go. I don't care
- 13:09Speaker 1: if you've been having the eyes for them forever. No.
- 13:13Speaker 1: If you're truly friends with somebody, you know that's off limits,
- 13:15Speaker 1: exactly as it should be. Now. Over the weekend, you're
- 13:18Speaker 1: over at Alexia's pool party a housewarming, I should.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Say yes, I just ran by for an hour or two.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And getting to catch up with everybody. Could you give
- 13:25Speaker 1: us like a I was just because I'm facing fomo
- 13:27Speaker 1: on some of the things I saw online. It looked
- 13:30Speaker 1: like one of the Saint Pete gals were out there.
- 13:31Speaker 1: And I know Alexi is not in here to talk
- 13:33Speaker 1: about all the different vendors that were there, but it
- 13:35Speaker 1: looks super fun. How is her pool? Because we saw
- 13:37Speaker 1: it online and Alexi just got this new pool. It's
- 13:40Speaker 1: like this massive, I don't know, like a circle, but
- 13:44Speaker 1: it fit like it looked like ten people were in
- 13:47Speaker 1: there at one time.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's a lot bigger than I expected.
- 13:49Speaker 3: So Alexia, our coworker, just got this. I'm trying to
- 13:53Speaker 3: figure out a way to describe it without it sounding derogatory.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But it's sort of like like a big tin pool
- 14:01Speaker 3: with a filter. Because a lot of people are messaging me,
- 14:03Speaker 3: they're like, oh my god, please tell me there's a filter.
- 14:04Speaker 2: There's a filter.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Filter. Yeah, it's a really stagnant water.
- 14:06Speaker 3: It's an above ground pool, but it's made of like tin,
- 14:10Speaker 3: like it kind of looks like the bottom of a
- 14:11Speaker 3: soda can, like it's it's metal in that way. There's
- 14:15Speaker 3: a filter, so it feels very much just like a
- 14:16Speaker 3: normal pool. I think it's heated. It felt heated to me.
- 14:19Speaker 3: It was freaking delightful. And yeah, I mean we just
- 14:22Speaker 3: went over to go celebrate her new pool in her backyard.
- 14:25Speaker 2: She's some vendors. It's very cool, casual time.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Gosh. I mean, I was just looking at it and
- 14:29Speaker 1: I was like, I was trying to race across the
- 14:31Speaker 1: state to get over there because we were over at
- 14:32Speaker 1: the wedding and I saw it. Look like everybody came
- 14:34Speaker 1: out for it. You guys were driving these little jeeps
- 14:36Speaker 1: around her neighborhood. How was her house? Did you get
- 14:38Speaker 1: to go through her house?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, her house is super cute.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I mean it's a great location, and yeah, I mean
- 14:43Speaker 3: I had a good time.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'm so jealous. I was looking at that and I
- 14:45Speaker 1: was like, I'm glad. I was over across the state
- 14:47Speaker 1: and I was glad. I was enjoying time with friends
- 14:49Speaker 1: and family. But I hope she puts on another one
- 14:52Speaker 1: because I want to be a part of it.
- 14:53Speaker 3: No, she for sure will. And honestly, the pool was
- 14:56Speaker 3: really enjoyable. I was like, I'd come back and lounge.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I was feeling kind of like gross. I was like
- 14:59Speaker 3: sweaty and out all day. I was like, you don't
- 15:01Speaker 3: want me in your pool. Let me just put that
- 15:02Speaker 3: out it that way.
- 15:03Speaker 2: You do not want me in your pool.
- 15:04Speaker 1: It's like a resort. Rinse off before you get there.
- 15:06Speaker 2: That's how I felt.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Well. On Thursday, I actually ended up heading home to
- 15:09Speaker 1: go to Viro And this was a huge moment because
- 15:12Speaker 1: not only was I going to a friend's wedding, but
- 15:14Speaker 1: I was bringing my girlfriend over and it was my hometown.
- 15:17Speaker 1: So we were making the joke that was kind of
- 15:18Speaker 1: like the hometown tours and the Bachelor Bachelorette because the
- 15:21Speaker 1: first stop we were going to make was my dad's house. Nice,
- 15:24Speaker 1: So this was going to be the first time my
- 15:26Speaker 1: girlfriend got to meet my dad. Steve is cheating on me,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I know, And it was for the greatest reason ever.
- 15:31Speaker 1: It was to meet her. And we got over there,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and it's so interesting because I like these moments because
- 15:36Speaker 1: you're going to think back and be like, wow, I
- 15:37Speaker 1: remember being so nervous or so anxious, and I could
- 15:41Speaker 1: definitely tell she was a little anxious, as I will
- 15:44Speaker 1: be when I meet her family. Holy crap. But as
- 15:48Speaker 1: we got there, it was really cool to see. We
- 15:50Speaker 1: got into my childhood home and I'm showing her all
- 15:52Speaker 1: the pictures and I'm showing her the backyard because I
- 15:54Speaker 1: grew up here. And then here comes my dad with
- 15:57Speaker 1: the dogs in the house, and all of a sudden,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I got to see my dad. My girlfriend like click immediately,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and they started having these conversations about their time in
- 16:06Speaker 1: college and what my dad knows because my dad could
- 16:08Speaker 1: speak a little bit of Spanish, and so they're speaking
- 16:11Speaker 1: Spanish together a little bit. That's awesome, and it was
- 16:14Speaker 1: like an instant bond that I hope for her was
- 16:16Speaker 1: an immediate like drop in stress of like you belong here.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I wouldn't bring you here if I didn't think you
- 16:23Speaker 1: were the person that I wanted to have interact with
- 16:25Speaker 1: my family, the closest ones of my life. And so
- 16:28Speaker 1: right away it was just an incredible night. And we
- 16:30Speaker 1: had dinner, and we had drinks, and we cheersed and
- 16:32Speaker 1: it was a whole thing. But then things got interesting
- 16:35Speaker 1: because we went over to the Airbnb and we got
- 16:37Speaker 1: to see some of the buddies that I went to
- 16:38Speaker 1: high school with, and I realized that we are two
- 16:42Speaker 1: peas in a pod, my girlfriend and I as soon
- 16:45Speaker 1: as we walked into that house, and we became the
- 16:47Speaker 1: weirdest people of the weekend. What happened, well, we were
- 16:50Speaker 1: just the ones that everything we did, we were either singing,
- 16:53Speaker 1: we were tossing food into each other's mouths. We were
- 16:56Speaker 1: the ones that were, like, I don't just the obnoxious
- 16:59Speaker 1: couple everyone has that those friends and the friend group
- 17:02Speaker 1: that are the loud and jokey and silly, ridiculous ones.
- 17:05Speaker 1: We became that. And it was so cool to see
- 17:08Speaker 1: because my buddies they all have their partners. Now we're
- 17:10Speaker 1: there for my buddies wedding, my other buddies getting married
- 17:13Speaker 1: in six months. He has her fiance over there, so
- 17:16Speaker 1: we're meeting each other and now I get to bring
- 17:18Speaker 1: my girlfriend into the mix. So the day before, like
- 17:21Speaker 1: I drove her around town. It's this cringey though, because
- 17:23Speaker 1: I drove around town and I still have that thing,
- 17:25Speaker 1: Like I drove her by my high school and started
- 17:27Speaker 1: going down the high school lore and all the high
- 17:29Speaker 1: school stories and drove around the football field and showed
- 17:32Speaker 1: her what that was all. Like, that's not cringey, right,
- 17:34Speaker 1: that's cool. Yeah, I think it's cool.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You just showing up your own town.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we got to go check out beach side and
- 17:38Speaker 1: got a bottle of wine. But then the wedding day,
- 17:41Speaker 1: it just put it to the perfect tea that damn it.
- 17:44Speaker 1: We are just we are able to bring each other
- 17:49Speaker 1: to that each other's best because I go out and
- 17:52Speaker 1: I start dancing with everybody during the actual reception, having
- 17:56Speaker 1: the greatest time, not feeling self conscious so at all,
- 17:58Speaker 1: because I look over to my right and there's my
- 18:00Speaker 1: girlfriend doing the exact same thing. Everyone's casually dancing, everyone's
- 18:04Speaker 1: not really getting fully into it. Her and I are
- 18:07Speaker 1: dripping sweat, like literally feeding off of each other. Like
- 18:10Speaker 1: I have not laughed that hard ever in my life,
- 18:13Speaker 1: where it's like we don't even have to be together dancing.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I'm just looking across the room and I'm seeing her.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Do her thing.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm doing mine. And then there was this challenge
- 18:21Speaker 1: and we talked about it a little bit on the air,
- 18:22Speaker 1: but I want to go into more detail here because
- 18:25Speaker 1: one of my buddy and my buddies I was getting married.
- 18:27Speaker 1: He had his ninety year old grandmother at this wedding.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Oh wow, And all I've heard is the story is
- 18:31Speaker 1: about this amazing grandma. And I said to my buddy,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I was like, I'm gonna get you grandma to dance.
- 18:35Speaker 1: He's like, I don't think you are. I said, no,
- 18:37Speaker 1: I will. I work real well with the older women,
- 18:39Speaker 1: like I go hard when it comes to like making
- 18:42Speaker 1: sure older women have a great time.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 1: And so during the actual reception, what I decided to do,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I thought I was going to be a slow song,
- 18:48Speaker 1: a romantic song. No, it was genuine pony that got
- 18:52Speaker 1: me going. And my buddy did this whole like dance
- 18:55Speaker 1: for the groom, which is hilarious. He took off his
- 18:57Speaker 1: shirt started getting the crowd going, and as soon as that,
- 19:00Speaker 1: I said, you know what, this is the perfect time
- 19:02Speaker 1: to get Grandma up. Obviously she's been sitting the whole time.
- 19:05Speaker 1: She's got her walker, and say, I walk over with her.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I unbutton my shirt, I start showing a little bit
- 19:10Speaker 1: of my chest. I take off my tie.
- 19:12Speaker 2: She starts sliding off the chair.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I move her walker to the side, and I just
- 19:16Speaker 1: say they can just sit there, and literally all the
- 19:19Speaker 1: eyes in the room start staring at us. And I
- 19:22Speaker 1: take off the tie and I wrap it around her.
- 19:24Speaker 1: She's ninety years old, and she's like, what the hell
- 19:27Speaker 1: is going on here? So I start grinding up on
- 19:29Speaker 1: Grandma and I start pulling the tie, and everyone's taking
- 19:33Speaker 1: out their phones and they're filming. As the genuine pony.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I felt like magic Mike. And then I flip myself
- 19:39Speaker 1: around and I start, it's so ridiculous, as I say
- 19:42Speaker 1: it now, and I wasn't really even drunk. Yeah, I
- 19:44Speaker 1: just start throwing my ass back on Grandma, Okay, And
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was kind of worried. I was like, how is
- 19:49Speaker 1: she feeling about this whole situation? You got to ask
- 19:51Speaker 1: for consent, I know, if you were just getting into
- 19:53Speaker 1: the she starts smacking my ass like she is in
- 19:56Speaker 1: the front, do you have birthday?
- 20:00Speaker 2: You're like, Oh, she's really enjoying this.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I know. I was like, she's really. If I look
- 20:04Speaker 1: at the video, she's actually trying to push me away.
- 20:05Speaker 2: She's like, how do I get this man off me?
- 20:07Speaker 1: It was a legendary moment of the night that's awesome
- 20:10Speaker 1: where she is just having the time of her life
- 20:12Speaker 1: and she says thank you. Her daughter, my best friend's
- 20:16Speaker 1: mom says thank you. He absolutely loves it, and so
- 20:20Speaker 1: it was truly a treat that I'm glad went through.
- 20:23Speaker 1: And I want to give two things that I'm gonna
- 20:25Speaker 1: recommend for a wedding because we got to do it
- 20:28Speaker 1: at the actual wedding. The first one was a bingo card.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Have you ever done this at a wedding?
- 20:34Speaker 3: I haven't done it at a wedding, but I've done
- 20:35Speaker 3: it at other like at nights out. If weird things
- 20:38Speaker 3: start happening, I'll look at my friends like, we need
- 20:40Speaker 3: to make a Bingo card.
- 20:40Speaker 1: It was the greatest idea we could have had because
- 20:43Speaker 1: there's people there that we just knew. Some of the
- 20:45Speaker 1: conversations they were going to start to have We started
- 20:48Speaker 1: to think of what I was going to do again
- 20:50Speaker 1: with Nana. Definitely had that on the Bingo card on it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I thought I was going to dance, and then the
- 20:54Speaker 1: offensive things that were said, what kind of songs were
- 20:56Speaker 1: going to be said? And it makes it fun, especially
- 20:58Speaker 1: for your bridal party, Like if you have grooms men
- 21:01Speaker 1: and the bridesmaids, make a Bengo card without the bride
- 21:05Speaker 1: or the groom knowing what's on it, and follow it
- 21:07Speaker 1: through the night because as something would be said or
- 21:10Speaker 1: a speech would go too long, you'd go to your
- 21:12Speaker 1: Bengo card, you'd mark it down and then whoever wins whatever.
- 21:15Speaker 1: But then also I love that wedding to do this.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I love that this is the trend having the surprise
- 21:21Speaker 1: food show up at the end of the night. Oh,
- 21:23Speaker 1: it's always the best, It is the greatest, And they
- 21:26Speaker 1: did this at this wedding. I had no idea. All
- 21:28Speaker 1: of a sudden, it's like ten o'clock, everyone's just sloshed,
- 21:31Speaker 1: everyone's been drinking bourbon, and then pizza shows up and
- 21:34Speaker 1: it's like boxes on boxes. We could take an entire
- 21:37Speaker 1: box for you and your boo and so we're snacking
- 21:39Speaker 1: dancing on the dance floor, and then I'll give one caveat.
- 21:44Speaker 1: You gotta be so careful with what that DJ does
- 21:47Speaker 1: because the DJ that we had, super nice guy, played
- 21:50Speaker 1: fun songs, but he did two things that became so
- 21:53Speaker 1: awkward and so cringey. After everything, he would do the airhorn,
- 22:00Speaker 1: so it'd be like the maid of Honor speech and
- 22:02Speaker 1: she's like crying up there. She's like, I'm just so happy, congratulations,
- 22:05Speaker 1: and they did an air work and then he did
- 22:06Speaker 1: an airhorn after it.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's not a frat party.
- 22:09Speaker 1: That's exactly what me and my girlfriends said, were like, okay,
- 22:11Speaker 1: enough with the airhorn, Like it's fun one time, it's
- 22:14Speaker 1: fun for a cheers, but it's not fun after everything,
- 22:17Speaker 1: after the blessing, over the food, after Grandma and I
- 22:20Speaker 1: are dancing, like everything wasn't And then he also over
- 22:23Speaker 1: the songs. It was like a karaoke session for him.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Oh he was singing.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He would get on the mic and start singing.
- 22:27Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 22:28Speaker 1: It felt like something out of the show The Office,
- 22:30Speaker 1: where you're like is this really happening? And one hundred
- 22:33Speaker 1: percent was where I'm like, okay, great things to have
- 22:36Speaker 1: snacks at the end of the night. Luckily the bride
- 22:38Speaker 1: and groom I don't think care one bit, But me
- 22:41Speaker 1: as somebody that's DJ'ed weddings, I'm like, bro, what are
- 22:43Speaker 1: you doing? What in the world are you doing?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah, so you've seen a lot of weddings.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I will say this goes down as one of the
- 22:49Speaker 1: better ones. Yeah, of just fun, carefree, letting loose. And
- 22:53Speaker 1: what I loved about this wedding is that some weddings
- 22:56Speaker 1: it's so elegant where it's like the food is the
- 22:58Speaker 1: most expensive part and you look full to They had
- 23:01Speaker 1: a taco bar and it was incredible.
- 23:04Speaker 2: We love tacos.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Absolutely. Everyone was happy. But also I think about how
- 23:09Speaker 1: easy is that get a couple of things that, like
- 23:11Speaker 1: a spread and it's not going to break your budget.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You can make it happen where everyone's happy because they
- 23:17Speaker 1: get to make their own instead of going to these
- 23:19Speaker 1: places where it's like, oh my god, we got the
- 23:21Speaker 1: most expensive filet and a fish that can only be
- 23:24Speaker 1: caught off of the coast of Antarctica. It was an
- 23:26Speaker 1: easy taco spread. So I was like, win win and
- 23:29Speaker 1: freaking win.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Yeah, especially if it speaks to the couple, like if
- 23:32Speaker 3: they love tacos, or maybe it's from a place where
- 23:34Speaker 3: they went on a first daid, or that's like a
- 23:36Speaker 3: place that they love to go with their families.
- 23:38Speaker 1: That kind of thing such a win and I just
- 23:40Speaker 1: took away. I was like, Wow, sometimes we get so
- 23:42Speaker 1: caught up in those little details that like it could
- 23:45Speaker 1: make it so out of our range of a budget
- 23:48Speaker 1: or so easy and elegant where everyone's happy, but you're
- 23:52Speaker 1: not trying to do more than you can at your wedding.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, there's so there's so many things that you get
- 23:56Speaker 3: caught up in with wedding planning that I've noticed from
- 23:59Speaker 3: attending other wedding where it's like, I know, a guest
- 24:01Speaker 3: doesn't really care about getting like a party favor. I
- 24:03Speaker 3: don't care if you give me a candle with your
- 24:04Speaker 3: name and your husband on it. Like literally, I'm like,
- 24:08Speaker 3: give me a fun photo with you and the groom
- 24:10Speaker 3: and some decent cake at the end in an open bar,
- 24:13Speaker 3: like that's literally all I care about.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And air conditioning and air conditioning that was the one
- 24:16Speaker 1: thing we were outside and again like we were sweating
- 24:19Speaker 1: our faces off, where like I'm standing in front of
- 24:21Speaker 1: the fan, like shirt off, completely unbuttoned, like just letting
- 24:24Speaker 1: it pour on me all the wind.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I only have one pace. And I will say like,
- 24:29Speaker 1: this is such a cool moment because when I started dancing,
- 24:32Speaker 1: I sweat my ass off, and usually I get kind
- 24:34Speaker 1: of embarrassed because I'm like, I am drenched. Who is
- 24:36Speaker 1: gonna want to dance with me? My girlfriend she's the
- 24:39Speaker 1: same exact way where it's like doing all the things,
- 24:42Speaker 1: all the dances, all the most ridiculous moves on the
- 24:45Speaker 1: dance floor, spinning around. Such a cool night that I
- 24:48Speaker 1: took away and I was like, wow, that is exactly
- 24:51Speaker 1: what I have looked for. That is exactly what I want,
- 24:54Speaker 1: And it was so cool to have everybody together, like
- 24:56Speaker 1: in that stage of life together.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I was like, ah, that was wholesome. It's like you
- 25:00Speaker 1: go into it thinking it's gonna be good and then
- 25:02Speaker 1: it's better than it is.
- 25:03Speaker 2: That's beautiful.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I'm glad it was a good weekend. And it sounds like, uh,
- 25:06Speaker 3: Steve didn't scare off your lady.
- 25:09Speaker 1: That was kind of the messages that I started getting there,
- 25:11Speaker 1: like I hope we didn't scare off you know, your girlfriend?
- 25:13Speaker 1: And I was like no, I think she fit in,
- 25:16Speaker 1: like you know, two peas in a pod. We were
- 25:18Speaker 1: kind of scared that we scared off some of the
- 25:19Speaker 1: other extra guests that were there because we were so extra.
- 25:23Speaker 1: But it's kind of fun. You get around a certain
- 25:24Speaker 1: group of people, you start talking a certain way, you
- 25:26Speaker 1: start acting a certain way. But everything all in all
- 25:29Speaker 1: very well. I will say that we did break some
- 25:33Speaker 1: things in the house. O, God, would you break like
- 25:35Speaker 1: the table over? Like they had a coffee table and
- 25:37Speaker 1: they're getting ready to room and hopefully this isn't I
- 25:39Speaker 1: don't think this would come back and get me.
- 25:41Speaker 2: How'd you break it?
- 25:42Speaker 1: We were just getting ready at the place that they
- 25:43Speaker 1: were getting married at and we went to move the
- 25:45Speaker 1: table and like the legs broke off.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Oh but that's on them, That's what I'm saying. It's
- 25:49Speaker 3: not like you stood up on the table and like
- 25:51Speaker 3: it shattered.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We just went to move it over and the legs
- 25:53Speaker 1: were and we're like, we're not going to say a
- 25:55Speaker 1: single word. Yeah, we're gonna uh, we're gonna keep it
- 25:58Speaker 1: as is. Not say a word. Everyone just stand it
- 25:59Speaker 1: up up exactly how it is, don't move it again,
- 26:02Speaker 1: and then hopefully that doesn't come back to get us.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Hopefully everything's okay, But all in all, an incredible weekend.
- 26:08Speaker 1: We did have a great time celebrating, and it looks
- 26:11Speaker 1: like we're gonna be celebrating on other buddies in like
- 26:12Speaker 1: six months, so so fun.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Where's the next wedding?
- 26:14Speaker 1: It should be down in like the Sarasota area. I'm
- 26:18Speaker 1: gonna say, I gotta think, I don't know. That's kind
- 26:21Speaker 1: of the what's interesting right now is one of our
- 26:23Speaker 1: buddies that was there brought us fiance. They're getting married
- 26:26Speaker 1: in six months. We definitely know we're not in there.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And the groomsmen party, ok. We already discussed that, which
- 26:32Speaker 1: is kind of awkward in the beginning, but now we
- 26:34Speaker 1: don't know if we're invited. I think we will be,
- 26:37Speaker 1: but this weekend could have literally changed. It was our
- 26:39Speaker 1: first time meeting the fiance.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like Adam's a list.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I mean it should be like that. Or she could
- 26:44Speaker 1: go back and be like they are way too much.
- 26:46Speaker 1: We do not need them at the wedding. Oh and
- 26:48Speaker 1: he might be like, I mean, I guess you're right
- 26:50Speaker 1: because we see him only a couple times a year
- 26:52Speaker 1: or maybe once, I mean every few years we all
- 26:55Speaker 1: get together. Yeah. Yeah, So we're now waiting on like,
- 26:57Speaker 1: in the next six months will we get the wedding invitation.
- 27:00Speaker 2: We'll be counting down. Saraso is a great place for
- 27:02Speaker 2: a wedding.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Finding out the days. Well, there's the updates there as
- 27:05Speaker 1: more things pop up. I'm just very grateful that we
- 27:07Speaker 1: had a very successful, smooth drive wedding. Nothing horrible went down,
- 27:12Speaker 1: no drama got started.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Love just a table broken.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Just a table broken, maybe a woman who at her
- 27:18Speaker 3: first orgasm in fifty years.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I'm happy to give it. And honestly, hopefully there's not
- 27:23Speaker 1: a massive Airbnb fee at the end of it.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I doubt it.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I hope so too. I mean, because we definitely we
- 27:30Speaker 1: had the ac crank down to like sixty five. Oh god.
- 27:32Speaker 1: We had the house kind of a mess, but I
- 27:34Speaker 1: think we did a good job of cleaning up.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, as something as you try or I feel
- 27:37Speaker 3: like people recognize the effort.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and we only broke the soa of one time
- 27:40Speaker 1: throughout the night where the breaker went off, like, but
- 27:42Speaker 1: everything else was fine. Everything else happened a good way. Well, Abby,
- 27:46Speaker 1: what's your social media? People could find you and you
