- 0:00So think about this people, your body's absorbing all these different wavelengths of light and we're talking about light guys, both visible and invisible.
- 0:10So if you think about the power of
- 0:13or the elements that can truly heal the human body.
- 0:17We go back to fundamentals and basics.
- 0:21In my case, I represent, what I understand, what I enjoy is the elements of the earth.
- 0:27What is that?
- 0:28Light, magnetism, and oxygen.
- 0:31The reason why people are typically overweight, especially in the US with all these chemicals and toxins and preservatives, it's a nightmare, people, more so than you even
- 0:41realize.
- 0:41So what does that mean?
- 0:42We have inflammation.
- 0:43The reason why most people have this insulin sensitivity is
- 0:47and overweight is because of number one, inflammation.
- 1:21Welcome everybody to this edition of the Gladden Longevity Podcast.
- 1:24I'm your host, Dr.
- 1:25Jeffrey Gladden.
- 1:26And we're here today answering the big questions in life.
- 1:29How good can we be?
- 1:31How do we make 100 to new 30?
- 1:33How do we live young for a lifetime?
- 1:35How do we live well beyond 120?
- 1:38And how do we develop that 300 year old mind?
- 1:41And today I'm going to be interviewing a gentleman, Dr.
- 1:44Michael Ranzouli out of Florida, who
- 1:49has really been focused on the development of red light therapy, also hyperbaric therapy, but this conversation is really going to focus on red light therapy and we're going to go
- 1:58deep on GLP-1s, weight loss, how it should be done effectively.
- 2:03I think you're going to enjoy this conversation.
- 2:05was more than I was actually anticipating.
- 2:08So enjoy that.
- 2:10Welcome everybody to this edition of the Gladden longevity podcast.
- 2:13I'm your host, Dr.
- 2:14Jeffrey Gladden.
- 2:14And today I'm joined by the one and the only Dr.
- 2:19Mike Ranzouli.
- 2:20Mike is coming to us out of, really kind of the North Miami, South Palm beach area, someplace on the West coast, East coast of Florida rather Mike.
- 2:28are you?
- 2:29Good to have you.
- 2:30Pleasure.
- 2:31Thank you for having me.
- 2:32Yeah.
- 2:33So I had the opportunity to go over and visit Mike's office and see some of the equipment that he has.
- 2:40And we're to end up talking about some of that.
- 2:43He's written a book about it.
- 2:44And Mike, tell us a little bit about how did you get into health care in general?
- 2:49Give us a little bit of your background.
- 2:50You were five years old and you said when I grew up, I want to be in the health care space.
- 2:55Or how did that happen?
- 2:56that's a very good question.
- 2:58So I remember when I was like literally five, six years old, I was walking down the street with my uncle who's in the healthcare world is a doctor and all of sudden we turned around
- 3:10and we heard this boom, crash, turn around and this guy down the block got hit.
- 3:16It was a pedestrian got hit by a car.
- 3:18My uncle went running over to him.
- 3:20and was doing CPR.
- 3:22And I remember somebody called the police and the ambulance and they showed up and I'll never, ever, ever forget.
- 3:28The paramedic looked me in the eye and is like, you're wrong.
- 3:32Who is this?
- 3:33This is my uncle.
- 3:34He saved his life.
- 3:36He saved his life.
- 3:38And so that obviously left a deep, deep impact on me.
- 3:41And he took me under his wing after that and even more so into the whole healthcare space.
- 3:49That's my initial, like, know, that crowning moment, which kind of defines.
- 3:54Yeah, that's really interesting.
- 3:55A lot of people don't have that moment that early.
- 3:58Some people do, of course.
- 3:59Some people pick it up when they're, you know, in double digits, but not yet a teenager.
- 4:04And other people pick it up in high school or college or, you know, have some experience, some health exposure experience or whatever.
- 4:10It's interesting that it started so young for you.
- 4:14So you've really been on this path and your, your background, you went down several different,
- 4:20has of study, you've gone to, just explain that to the audience, you, what your background is there.
- 4:25it or not, I was eventually...
- 4:27So I originally, I was all groomed to go to DO school, which I'm sure, you're a DO, right?
- 4:33Are you a DO?
- 4:34No, you're an MD at CORE.
- 4:36So, So I was originally groomed to go to DO school because my close friend, her father was, lived right down the block from me when were in high school together, was in school
- 4:47together.
- 4:48Her father was the president of the state society of osteopathic physicians.
- 4:54So I was gonna, I was...
- 4:55on track with my friend we were studying.
- 4:58was on track.
- 4:59Turns out that my sister had an experience and she had her life transformed and she became a chiropractor so wholistic also.
- 5:09She was a few years ahead of me and she just said and studied.
- 5:14What happened is I went to a lot of hospitals I was volunteering in, emergency rooms and physicians office and
- 5:23I would ask these doctors, tell me how you like your life.
- 5:28Just tell me about your life.
- 5:29And they were all disillusioned.
- 5:31frustrated and burnt out.
- 5:35So I'm like, if I really want this, I really stopped doing this.
- 5:38to jump in on that, right?
- 5:40So my sister was like seeing his patients are happy.
- 5:45She's happy.
- 5:46She's has a real sense of professional fulfillment.
- 5:49So, you know, I was struck with this idea of.
- 5:52If you know the whole-
- 5:53Holistic chiropractic velocity is allow the body to heal itself remove the interference remove all the obstacles that stimulate genuine authentic Homeostasis bring in balance and
- 6:05so that's what happens.
- 6:07I want to know I wound up becoming
- 6:09extremely successful helping many many people seeing a lot of people but then like a lot of docs especially this is back 20 years ago I got burnt down with the whole insurance
- 6:22paradigm so for those of you who are anyone watching this podcast likely understands if you're following the talk that you'll add in here but anyone understands that the
- 6:34insurance model is
- 6:35based on sick care, not health care.
- 6:37So it's just like you're on a hamster wheel.
- 6:39You're not seeing true results in patients.
- 6:42That's right.
- 6:43So you left all that.
- 6:44When did you leave?
- 6:45When did you leave that world?
- 6:47That was back in 2011.
- 6:49So I had, I got burnt out with the insurance thing and I was, I had a colleague friend of mine say, get into anti-aging cash-based services and say, get away from insurance, get
- 7:00out of that burner, get out of like, go back to your original roots of why you're in healthcare to be able to help people.
- 7:07that's why we're here, truly.
- 7:09So I got in, I tried things and failed, tried this and failed and then I got into
- 7:15red light therapy back in 2011 when no one even knew what it was.
- 7:19I got lucky and I have a UK based manufacturer and I've learned of helping doing being so successful right off the bat helping all these people in such a significant meaningful
- 7:34way.
- 7:35I started sharing it with colleagues wound up becoming the exclusive distributor for that UK based manufacturer was called Lipo light red light.
- 7:43It was before ahead of its time.
- 7:44Now, red light everyone knows about and talks about because there's thousands and thousands of studies later.
- 7:50So this is all evidence-based.
- 7:52So it does everything from like shrink bad cells to stimulate balance in the hormones.
- 7:57So a lot of the things that you are doing to help achieve optimization in brain energy metabolism and inflammation and neurocognitive, news flash everyone, there's thousands of
- 8:11studies showing
- 8:13that these technologies, these new innovations in anti-aging and wellness medicine can absolutely transform the quality of your life.
- 8:22Yeah, I don't think there's, I don't think there's any question about that.
- 8:25think it's interesting you were in so early on this.
- 8:28I know I kind of stepped away from cardiology in 2012.
- 8:31So you were, you kind of stepped into this about the same time, same, same, same era, if you will.
- 8:40think so it's interesting you got into the red light therapy and then you,
- 8:44There's some special things about the red light bed that you currently use.
- 8:49ah Tell us about that, how that compares to other red light beds, things that you've seen.
- 8:54So ladies and gentlemen who are listening to this, you happen to be listening to somebody who has deep, deep, deep experience.
- 9:02And so as you might imagine doing this for this length, I'm obsessed not just with like you, we're so similar, Doug.
- 9:11I'm obsessed with results.
- 9:14And what separates a lot of these technologies is kind of sort of maybe
- 9:19Results versus my god outstanding consistent results So let's share with you with what separates say for instance the kind of the top tier technology that I Step put my heart
- 9:33and stamp of approval behind which is basically we can announce through your audience I mean we're layering these technologies Into you have the into your practice, so you're
- 9:45gonna appreciate this isn't just
- 9:48here's this new technology that really is good.
- 9:51You're dealing with the best of the best of the best.
- 9:54What does that mean?
- 9:55There's a lot of great options on the market, but it comes down to some key things.
- 10:01Number one has to do with even the design of the bed.
- 10:05If you look at most beds, like I was just speaking to...
- 10:08oh
- 10:08One of my practitioners has one of my competitors.
- 10:12So the thing is like two feet above the patient's body, for instance.
- 10:16And you go into a red light bed, and there's something called an inverse square law, people.
- 10:22And what does that mean?
- 10:23If you have two different light sources, one is, say, twice as far away from the patient's body as the other.
- 10:29Well, that person is twice as far away from the source of the light.
- 10:33He's only getting one fourth of the energy.
- 10:37into the body three times its way it's only a it's only a ninth so what does that mean most of these bends that I see on the market it's just it's you're there losing all of its
- 10:48effectiveness because it's too far away okay that that device needs to be super close so have you noticed Oz how well designed it is it's right on top of the body it's super close
- 11:00both above and below the other thing to separate us is
- 11:05Just to give you an idea, like I mentioned to you, this is not about, oh, here's this cool red light device.
- 11:11Yeah, it stimulates skin and collagen.
- 11:14I'm about an experiential result every single time for the patient.
- 11:20Every single time.
- 11:22So this isn't like, wow, I think I kind of sort of maybe got some, know.
- 11:27It's like, wow, thank you, please, may I have enough?
- 11:31It's like, it's...
- 11:33So your patients, for instance, or people who understand this and utilize it, it's game changing.
- 11:41It's game changing.
- 11:42It's true.
- 11:43It's deep.
- 11:44bed has a power element to it as well.
- 11:47When I went over and had a chance to use it a couple of times in a day, in addition to some other things, it was a 10 minute protocol, right?
- 11:55So.
- 11:56That's correct.
- 11:57So if you notice most of the red light technologies out there, they'll say 20 minutes and some even 30.
- 12:04So if you look at, if you understand the science and look at the power outage, there's something called a power density.
- 12:10So what does that mean?
- 12:12Well, this is international, so it's measured in, instead of energy per square inch, it's energy measured in per square centimeter.
- 12:20So per centimeter squared,
- 12:22You look at technology, the GoFundMe say 10, 20, maybe up to 30, or 50, 80.
- 12:31Just to give you an idea of the intensity and the power and the, it's measured in this power density measurement per square centimeter, ours is up to 125 to 140.
- 12:44Okay.
- 12:46So this is like wow level.
- 12:48It's like walking into a room.
- 12:51and having nice ambient light there that may be a comparison to somebody else.
- 12:57now you turn the dim switch all the way up.
- 12:59so now it's the number of photons.
- 13:02It's the quantity of...
- 13:04energy that the body is absorbing.
- 13:06the intensity, amount, it's called joules.
- 13:10So this technology is measured in over 10 million joules in a 10 minute session.
- 13:16So it's like, wow, it's off the chain.
- 13:20And what does that mean?
- 13:20It's all about results.
- 13:22True results, lasting results, deep results.
- 13:25So when you're in that level, when you're playing in that sandbox, it becomes a lot of fun.
- 13:30Yeah, absolutely.
- 13:31You know, when you're talking about intensity and power density and things like that, they're kind of different.
- 13:37Just so the audience understands, they're kind of different power densities out there related to what you're treating.
- 13:44So, you know, if you're treating skin,
- 13:46lower densities, 10 to 50 is typically what's used for deeper tissues though you want between 50 and 200.
- 13:52If you get over 250 or 300 milliwatts per centimeter squared, can actually go the other direction.
- 14:01So everything is in medicine and in biology is really based on balance, right?
- 14:07And so it's about getting the Goldilocks dose, if you will.
- 14:12But what's interesting is with the power that you have in your bed, it can have some dramatic impact on brain function, joint function, muscle function, things like that.
- 14:22So that's pretty interesting.
- 14:24What I would recommend for anybody listening to this, a couple of quick things.
- 14:30Number one, absolutely, yes, this does help for brain function, joint function pain, inflammation, neurocognitive levels.
- 14:39If you're out there and your family members, you're listening to this and you're thinking, wow, do you mean to tell me this can help grandpa, grandma, or somebody I care about?
- 14:48The answer is absolutely.
- 14:51That's why Dr.
- 14:52Gladden here is such an important voice to let people understand, guess what?
- 14:58Yes, this is truly...
- 15:00potential solution.
- 15:02We didn't have this.
- 15:03Our families didn't have this growing up, but guess what?
- 15:05We have it now.
- 15:06and you're a beautiful example of how you're helping many people in such a sincere way.
- 15:13yes, this is possible.
- 15:14Yes, do it now too.
- 15:17If I can share my thought with anyone considering looking at their options, don't wait.
- 15:24Don't wait.
- 15:26The best time to do it is already.
- 15:28Second best time is right now, for real.
- 15:31Mm-hmm.
- 15:32Well, yeah, I think that's true in health in general is there's no time like the present really It's never gonna be easier or better.
- 15:38You have a number of different uh Wavelengths inside your bed as well.
- 15:42I'm not mistaken 660 maybe in there.
- 15:48I think there's a nine.
- 15:49I don't have the numbers right in front of me.
- 15:50I don't know if you can rattle them off, but it's a It's about five or six different uh
- 15:57frequencies, And they each, yeah, and they each, yeah, go ahead.
- 16:02Now go ahead, walk us through it.
- 16:04Well, we start with red light.
- 16:07Red light is a particular wavelength.
- 16:10You know, just like the whole spectrum of electromagnetic visible light, right?
- 16:15If you remember from high school or even medical school, red, orange, yellow.
- 16:22So these are all different wavelengths.
- 16:25Okay, this is the size of the wavelengths.
- 16:27These are measured in the length of the wavelengths, okay?
- 16:32So red happens to be 630 to like you mentioned, 655 ish.
- 16:37This is red light, it's visible light.
- 16:39The energies from the red light are typically more superficial.
- 16:43So what does it do?
- 16:44More stimulating new collagen.
- 16:47It's incredible people.
- 16:49For those of you who haven't seen it or understand it yet, understand that the red light's incredibly, especially on this bed.
- 16:58This is not like a normal bed.
- 17:01This bed is hospital grade, the real deal superpower.
- 17:05So this bed, you're stimulating intense amount of collagen, you're stimulating.
- 17:12So what does this mean?
- 17:13You have saggy skin.
- 17:14If you're one of these ozempic patients or whatever who have a lot of saggy skin.
- 17:22Well, instead of cutting it off, which some cases it may, need to be, I'm not totally opposed to it, but.
- 17:28If you're just the average amount, it tightens the skin up under your arms.
- 17:34Your décolleté, collagen, elastin, your cellulite.
- 17:37Okay, this is effective.
- 17:39It works beautifully and it's hands free.
- 17:42So that's red light.
- 17:42It does more superficial.
- 17:44Then we have near-infrared, which is actually invisible to the human eye.
- 17:49Mm-hmm.
- 17:51That's more like about 800 to 880 nanometers.
- 17:56ah In near infrared.
- 18:00is invisible to the human eye.
- 18:03Like some people say, look at these diodes on this bed, it looks like it's not even upright.
- 18:08It's invisible, penetrates a lot more deeply into the body.
- 18:13So it goes into the deeper visceral fat.
- 18:16So think about this people, your body's absorbing all these different wavelengths of light and we're talking about light guys, both visible and invisible.
- 18:27So if you think about the power of
- 18:29or the elements that can truly heal the human body.
- 18:34We go back to fundamentals and basics.
- 18:37In my case, I represent, what I understand, what I enjoy is the elements of the earth.
- 18:43What is that?
- 18:44Light, magnetism, and oxygen.
- 18:47So these are fundamental earth's elements, Light, magnetism, and oxygen.
- 18:52Yeah, that's right.
- 18:53the light is red light with different wavelengths that...
- 18:57Listen people, what this does...
- 19:00Let me give it to you like this.
- 19:02It energizes the biology.
- 19:05It energizes your biochemistry.
- 19:08It up-regulates.
- 19:10It shifts.
- 19:11Yeah, can I regulate ATP production uh in the mitochondria, which can energize other repairs?
- 19:18It is interesting that as you change the wavelength and the depth of penetration changes from sort of superficial for skin, as you were talking about, into the near infrared,
- 19:28where it can go two to three centimeters in, right?
- 19:31So think about that.
- 19:32can go, you know, an inch into the skin.
- 19:36You can actually get through the skull into the brain.
- 19:38You can
- 19:40You can use it in conjunction with other healing therapies for joints.
- 19:43This is sometimes done with laser too at a particular wavelength that's focused on areas.
- 19:48And then uh there are helmets that people put on to do red light for the brain.
- 19:53There's been a lot of studies using this for optimizing cognitive ability and also decreasing dementia risk.
- 19:59We've been used.
- 20:00if you stop and really think about this.
- 20:02You know, here's what's cool to understand.
- 20:05This is having real results on real people.
- 20:07It's a beautiful thing.
- 20:09You know, there's thousands and thousands of studies.
- 20:11initially, like I'm thinking of this, some patient right now, this lady, a beautiful soul, she was literally 200 pounds.
- 20:19I know it's like what?
- 20:20In her case, we, some offices were working with GLP-1 doctors.
- 20:25That means they're already doing this trisipatide and semaglutide.
- 20:30But now they want to integrate these types of this technology specifically, for instance, for weight loss.
- 20:35Most of the physicians and clinics, they're into the whole anti-aging and longevity medicine aspect of it, similar to you.
- 20:43the number one typical use with low hanging fruit, so to speak, is weight loss.
- 20:51Why is that?
- 20:5275%.
- 20:53It's gone up in the last five.
- 20:55eight years from 70 to 75 percent of Americans either will be some overweight.
- 21:02So we got a major problem.
- 21:03isn't it, when you walk through an airport?
- 21:05And it does depend on where you are in the country.
- 21:08I will say that, you know, it's different in Denver than it is in uh Dallas, Texas, or New Orleans, or even Miami for that matter, right?
- 21:17So, but yeah, it's become an absolute epidemic of obesity and obesity-related metabolic problems like
- 21:24prediabetes, diabetes, insulin resistance, lots of hormonal issues, increased oxidative stress, which accelerates aging in dramatic ways.
- 21:34And when you're using this red light, and you're using it at the right wavelengths here, you not only are increasing ATP production, but you can actually decrease oxidative
- 21:45stress.
- 21:47At the same time that you're increasing nitric oxide release, which is important for blood vessel health.
- 21:52So there's some really nice interplay here in terms of if you're trying to take somebody who's metabolically challenged, let's say they're overweight, have too much percent body
- 22:01fat and they feel sluggish all the time, you can actually sort of in conjunction with other therapies.
- 22:06And we could talk about GOP1s, what they can do, what they can't do, what you have to be careful of.
- 22:14Nonetheless, if you can actually get somebody to start feeling energized again, then they are able to start walking, then they're able to start doing this or whatever.
- 22:26Right.
- 22:26So it's really it's really kind of developing a system that enables you to take somebody from a place where they have no energy.
- 22:33They're sedentary.
- 22:35They're obese or overweight.
- 22:36They're eating poorly.
- 22:40.
- 22:42And then through a series of interventions, one of which can be things like red light, serial uh red light bed exposures, you can actually start to move them to a point where
- 22:53they can actually start to activate other, what we would all consider more healthy habits.
- 22:58They have more willpower to eat better.
- 23:00They have more willpower to go for a walk and things like that, right?
- 23:03So it's a really, the way I see it is it's almost like a rescue.
- 23:07kind of scenario, right?
- 23:09It's like backing up a tow truck to a vehicle that's stuck in the mud and you've got to hitch on the hooks and stuff and you've got to start to move it until it can start to move
- 23:20on its own, right?
- 23:21And then it can also help get itself out of the ditch, right?
- 23:24yeah, interesting.
- 23:26what's exciting is...
- 23:27We're taking them off the hamster wheel of just masking the symptoms and getting to root cause.
- 23:35Hello, this is where patients are getting smarter and smarter.
- 23:39They're not buying into the whole, let me just stay on meds forever, okay?
- 23:44There's looking for people like you to do precision medicine, looking to how to shift certain specific biologies.
- 23:52Well, here's this other toll.
- 23:54So here's what happens.
- 23:55We're talking about results, and gentlemen, okay?
- 23:58This isn't esoteric.
- 24:00This isn't like, you know, a bunch of...
- 24:02people just talking about potential, we're talking about real life results.
- 24:08So what does that mean?
- 24:10This is real hope.
- 24:11This stuff is legit.
- 24:12And so that's what I'm about.
- 24:14That's what you're about.
- 24:16And in my case with BioNTH and this technology and the way we do it.
- 24:21One other thing I wanted to add, it just works.
- 24:24It works like a charm.
- 24:25It works consistently.
- 24:27It's a beautiful, beautiful thing for weight loss, for wellness.
- 24:31frequency that you have people come and use your bed?
- 24:34How often, how many times a week are they doing it?
- 24:37So it depends on the condition and depends on the scenario obviously.
- 24:41It's not necessarily, it's not a cookie cutter thing, but just to give you an idea.
- 24:47So the way we do weight loss is completely different than anything else on the market.
- 24:52That is, say you're on GLP.
- 24:55can do the same thing without, but say you're taking a summer glute tire, you're taking one of those skinny shot of Zempix, right?
- 25:03Like millions and millions of Americans who are.
- 25:06you're on it, guess what?
- 25:07You probably know that number one, most people don't stay on it.
- 25:11The statistics, if you look at the insurance companies, the average person is only on that for a year.
- 25:17And then they come up and guess what happens?
- 25:19They go back.
- 25:20So we're dealing with the same, it's not a solution.
- 25:23It's not a true, true solution.
- 25:24I mean, you're speaking to somebody who gets it and loves it.
- 25:26And I understand specifically to Zepetine, it has many metabolic effects, the whole sugar handling and.
- 25:32But all I'm suggesting is the way we do is like this.
- 25:36We can start them on that, the patients already on that, great.
- 25:39But then we introduce a full body cellular detoxification process.
- 25:43What does that mean?
- 25:44The reason why people are typically overweight, especially in the US with all these chemicals and toxins and preservatives, it's a nightmare, people, more so than you even
- 25:54realize.
- 25:55So what does that mean?
- 25:55We have inflammation.
- 25:57The reason why most people have this insulin sensitivity is
- 26:01and overweight is because of number one, inflammation.
- 26:04So we start there.
- 26:06We pull out the inflammation extremely effectively.
- 26:09Okay, what we do it, we just do it right.
- 26:11It's a blueprint.
- 26:13It's a system.
- 26:14It's a follow the elder growth.
- 26:16Shut off the inflammation.
- 26:17You release all the weight loss resistance.
- 26:19that whether you're on the GLP or not.
- 26:22So then the weight stabilizes.
- 26:24We take you off the GLP.
- 26:25We transition you off and then you do more red lights.
- 26:28So you're continuing.
- 26:30After the red light, you go on the vibration platform, the shaker machine to stimulate all the lymphatic drainage, get the toxins out of the body.
- 26:40So the red light opens that fat cell, releases it, all the constituents spill out, the whole cell collapses and shrinks.
- 26:48Then you go on that shaker machine for just 10 minutes, easy breezy, in conjunction with the detox.
- 26:54And we also combine this and layer this with, as you know, I have a mind tap.
- 26:58So it's a serious is basically.
- 27:00It's basically hypnotherapy for those of you who are more spiritual, which I am, but it's just, you're, you're filling your, your sub you're stepping in.
- 27:10You're filling your subconscious mind with new ideas about eating healthier.
- 27:16A lot of people have bad habits, like you say, so this is a key component.
- 27:20So red light, detox, and then we give the body the nutrients it needs.
- 27:26In our case, we use sublingual, so it's easy breezy and it goes right into the bloodstream.
- 27:30It's full absorption.
- 27:31This works great.
- 27:33We taper them off a couple of times back and forth, and then we do a full cellular reset, a hypothalamic reset.
- 27:40We're resetting that part of the brain that controls the metabolism.
- 27:44Basically, people, it's a fat reset.
- 27:48And how do you actually accomplish the hypothalamic reset in this context?
- 27:53Well, they come in for their sessions of red light.
- 27:56You mentioned how many.
- 27:57Our offices, you have to typically do it once a week.
- 28:00Come in for red light once a week.
- 28:03And the way our beds are designed, it's more automated.
- 28:06So these patients go in and out.
- 28:08There's no tech needed.
- 28:09It's a beautiful thing.
- 28:10It's easy breezy.
- 28:12It's simple, works.
- 28:13So they come in once a week.
- 28:15Most offices will, depending on how their business model is,
- 28:20It can come up to three times, three, four times a week.
- 28:23Got it.
- 28:24Okay.
- 28:25short treatment time, so it's easy breezy.
- 28:27You're in and out.
- 28:29It's 10 minutes, basically.
- 28:3110 minute protocol.
- 28:33Yeah.
- 28:34think about what other modality, what other treatment, if you have a laser, right?
- 28:40We all know a laser, the image when a laser and what this light is, is a laser, it could be the same frequency, but it's just, it's focused, it's coherent light they call it.
- 28:50But once that light goes through the skin, it diffuses anyway.
- 28:53So LEDs is just a much better solution.
- 28:56It's a lot more energy, it's full body, it's non-attended.
- 29:00more intensity.
- 29:01It's just a smarter, better way.
- 29:03And with the detox, you're getting some detox through the, actually being in the, in the red, in the red light in the near infrared is, um, helping to activate detox.
- 29:15We have ways to up-regulate detox gene genetics.
- 29:18Also, one of things that we do is do genetic testing on everybody to see who detox as well and where they get stuck on that.
- 29:26depending on what their genes show us, can put them on different supplements to actually upregulate the...
- 29:32So that's one of the beautiful things about what you do.
- 29:35You do what's precision medicine.
- 29:38Somebody's got a detox malfunctioning gene, know, diseases as you know is often a lack of certain nutrients, so you supply that and so that pathway gets activated,
- 29:52That's right.
- 29:53It gets activated.
- 29:54can manage the oxidative stress that goes along with inflammation.
- 29:58One of the reasons inflammation is bad is because it causes excess oxidative stress at the tissue level.
- 30:03So then we can optimize a person's ability to manage oxidative stress.
- 30:08Also, there's a genetic component and then there's nutritional components, et cetera.
- 30:13I'm actually giving a webinar on this tomorrow.
- 30:17it's oxidative stress.
- 30:21Yeah.
- 30:22So.
- 30:22guess what?
- 30:23All your beautiful patients who were indicated you have a superpower tool to shut off that oxygen, to slow it all down.
- 30:34Yeah, I'm excited to use the red light bed in conjunction with the other things we're doing, because I think that it's all going to sort of dovetail together.
- 30:42biology really responds to systematic approaches.
- 30:45It's technically not just one thing.
- 30:48for mon why say it again, doc
- 30:51Systematic approaches, right?
- 30:53So this is one of the problems with uh just relying on a GLP-1.
- 30:57And I'm not here to bash them because there is, you know, they were quite an interesting medicine.
- 31:03They basically have shown significant benefits for diabetics with regards to congestive heart failure, cardiovascular events, protecting kidneys, things like that.
- 31:14The downside, however, is that when you use them on a regular basis, and this is true for weight loss.
- 31:19ah Is that we see because we're measuring we have dexus cancer So we're measuring bone density and we're measuring body composition within body.
- 31:27We see people lose muscle mass and we see them Preferentially lose muscle over fat when they're using a GLP one and we also see loss of bone density So yes, it's suppressing
- 31:40appetite Which is really how it works.
- 31:42It's an appetite suppressant but with a GLP one, we're actually seeing that
- 31:47Yes, you're losing weight, but you're losing, you're losing the part of your body you don't want to lose.
- 31:52And you're hanging onto the party part of your body.
- 31:55You don't want to hang onto.
- 31:56So it's, you're not really getting what you want.
- 31:58And so it's really important for people not to focus on the scale.
- 32:03think focusing on the number on the scale is really misleading.
- 32:07Like if you sat there and say, I'm going to do a water fast for 20 days, I had a guy come in here and said, I'm doing a water fast for 28 days.
- 32:14said, really, how many days are you into it?
- 32:16said I'm two weeks into it.
- 32:18said, well, great.
- 32:18Let's go check your body composition on the in body.
- 32:21my gosh.
- 32:22This guy had lost tons of muscle, right?
- 32:25Very little fat.
- 32:27And it's like, well, here's here's the facts of what's actually happening here.
- 32:31You sure you want to continue with this?
- 32:33And yes, fasting is very healthy because it causes the body to become to go into recycle mode, right?
- 32:39Where you increase autophagy and you increase the breakdown of, you know,
- 32:44to form proteins and you recycle organelles and all the different things that you need to do.
- 32:48Lovely, wonderful.
- 32:49We love it.
- 32:50But when you get into these scenarios with either either extended fasting or with GLP ones for extended period of time, you actually start to break the body down.
- 33:03You're actually losing muscle mass and protein.
- 33:06And the reason for that is that
- 33:08Your body can't survive on fat alone.
- 33:10There are other minerals and things that it needs.
- 33:13so it can only get those fat only as fat.
- 33:15It's only energy, right?
- 33:16So if it needs other minerals because you're not eating, then it's got to get it from someplace.
- 33:20So it's got to pull it from the bones.
- 33:22It's got to pull it from the muscles, right?
- 33:24so just realize that if weight loss is your goal, what we really coach people on is that body composition should be the goal.
- 33:32And if you're really interested in.
- 33:34optimizing body composition, that means, yeah, you'll put on some muscle.
- 33:39Yes, you'll lose some fat.
- 33:40Your weight will shift, but your body composition will shift in a very healthy way.
- 33:44Now you have more bone density, more muscle mass, more ability to do things.
- 33:48And yes, your fat percent goes down and your fat distribution is significantly improved.
- 33:55But that's really what we think people should focus on.
- 33:58So there are scales that you can buy at home.
- 34:01you know, like an in-body scale that will use electrical impedance to actually read your body each morning and tell you where your percent body fat is, where your percent muscle
- 34:11mass is and things like that.
- 34:12And that's a better way when you're at home doing these things to kind of track, OK, what's actually happening here?
- 34:19What are we really doing?
- 34:20Yes, I'm losing, quote unquote, weight, but what weight am I losing?
- 34:23Am I losing good weight or am I losing bad weight?
- 34:26Right.
- 34:26So anyway, that's kind of how we think about it.
- 34:28Well, you and I clearly are completely obviously in alignment.
- 34:32And so the message for people listening is, you know, most doctors are doing GLP, they
- 34:37They have seemingly a solution, but it's not a true solution.
- 34:41you said, patients on this wind up losing muscle and muscle is the organ of longevity.
- 34:48So this is a better way.
- 34:49So patients are coming to understand, yeah, GOP1, maybe it's great for somebody who's morbidly obese and they're like a walking, talking time bomb about to have a stroke or
- 35:01something.
- 35:01you're taking, so for that reason,
- 35:04But I just want people to understand, yes, that's good, but there's even a better way.
- 35:10Like you understand it, you get it doc.
- 35:13So we, we transition them.
- 35:15can use it to just to prime them.
- 35:18You take them off for full body cellular reset of metabolic reset, a fat reset for permanent results.
- 35:27Hello, this is what we want.
- 35:28So it's a better solution.
- 35:30You're focusing on your
- 35:32body composition, it is all about muscle.
- 35:35It is not about that number on the scale.
- 35:37You're absolutely right.
- 35:39This is why this education is so critical to make better choices.
- 35:44And the way you're doing it is just a better solution.
- 35:48So people have a lot of common sense and they get it.
- 35:52So that's why they're gladden longevity, obviously.
- 35:56And by Wednesday I...
- 35:58Well, I appreciate that.
- 35:59Yeah.
- 35:59You know, there are some interesting things being done that we're starting to do with the GLP ones, which is to micro dose them where you're getting some of the actual benefits
- 36:08from them.
- 36:09As I mentioned, there are some really nice benefits with regards to vascular health and brain health and decreased cardiovascular risk and improved kidney function and things
- 36:18like that.
- 36:19Even some cognitive improvements.
- 36:21But if you're using a tenth of the dose,
- 36:24You're not actually using enough to suppress appetite to a point where you're depleting, you know, bone density and muscle mass.
- 36:31So that's one thing to keep in mind.
- 36:33Again, we're not anti GLP one.
- 36:35We're what we really are is very pro optimized body composition and using only a GLP one is not going to get you there is what we've seen.
- 36:44The other thing for you to think about, we talked about fasting.
- 36:47I just want to mention this.
- 36:48There is a prolon.
- 36:51PROLON, five day fast mimicking diet, which actually is very, very helpful because during that five days when you're quote unquote fasting, you are eating at the same time.
- 37:03There's some nuts, some olives, some soups that they've put together and some things like that.
- 37:07So you do eat some calories each day as you go through your five day fast mimicking diet.
- 37:13And that's the beauty of that has been that because there is some carbs in there.
- 37:18They've actually shown that there's enough to keep your body from actually having to tap into the muscle.
- 37:26And so in the five day fast, when we can diet, you're actually not losing muscle mass.
- 37:30You're actually losing fat mass and you're resetting many things in your body, which when you talk about metabolic reset, it's really nice to reset your appetite, reset your taste
- 37:41buds, reset your gut bio, right?
- 37:44All these things get reset and
- 37:46terms of a five day fast mimicking diet.
- 37:49And then one of the other things that we've gotten into with GLP-1s is understanding that certain bacteria in your gut, in the microbiome, you endogenously, you make your own
- 38:00GLP-1, right?
- 38:02And so if you take a probiotic, a GLP-1 primordium probiotic that has acromansia in it, this is a good way for you to get off your GLP-1 and still have some of the good benefits
- 38:16of it.
- 38:17Again, but not to the extent where you're starting to just tear your body apart for the sake of a number on the scale.
- 38:24So anyway, these are just some of the ways that we go about it here as well.
- 38:28Well, this is why your system is clearly heads and shoulders above the way most people do it because they are just focused on...
- 38:37Let's just put on our common sense hat.
- 38:39This is just a smarter, better solution.
- 38:42Microdosing, the GLP, and eventually even taking them off.
- 38:47And these people have a true permanent, basically they have a graduation date and they have the, their body understands that they're in control of it.
- 38:57So they get to their body starts responding super well.
- 39:00So they.
- 39:01And obviously you're measuring, you said another key thing for people who really want to dial down into this, have to get a uh full body composition scale.
- 39:10Like you mentioned, they're cheap, they have apps, you can track it every day.
- 39:15A lot of our providers, have their patients send those numbers in daily so when they have their monthly assessment or whatever, they can...
- 39:24check to see the progress on the body comp.
- 39:27So these numbers are key.
- 39:28These are the tools that you need.
- 39:30Here are the solutions.
- 39:32You get it.
- 39:33So for people who are hoping to, oh my God, I want to really truly, I really want to handle this situation.
- 39:41I'm like, here's, we got solutions.
- 39:42It's exciting.
- 39:43And it's, it's a beautiful thing because.
- 39:46it really is exciting.
- 39:47There was a couple other pieces to it that I'll just mention.
- 39:50One is that we do a resting metabolic rate on everybody in addition to their thyroid blood work.
- 39:54And what we find is a lot of people that struggle with weight actually have subclinical hypothyroidism where they just aren't getting enough thyroid activity at the cellular
- 40:04level.
- 40:05And when we fix that for them, all of a sudden it's easy.
- 40:08uh
- 40:09how you help people like balance the thyroid.
- 40:13Well, depends.
- 40:15So, thyroid.
- 40:17and how you've seen success.
- 40:19Just give me a couple of, like, share a couple of.
- 40:23let's say somebody comes in and they're, they're not feeling particularly good energy.
- 40:30They feel like they're putting on some weight and things like that.
- 40:32Well, one of the very first things we'll check is their thyroid.
- 40:35And so how do you check a thyroid?
- 40:36Well, we do very complete thyroid blood tests to make sure there isn't any Hashimoto's thyroiditis or any antibodies against the thyroid.
- 40:44looking at, you know, T3, T4, free T3, free T4, TSH, reverse T3.
- 40:51you know, all the different things that you would look for in a blood test.
- 40:54But then we also hook them up to a metabolic card and have them breathe through a mask for about 20 minutes.
- 41:00And we measure how much oxygen they can consume and how much CO2 they can produce.
- 41:05And from that, we can actually calculate their resting metabolic rate.
- 41:09And many times what we'll see is that their their blood work is in the quote unquote normal range, but their resting metabolic rate is low, which means that the cells
- 41:21are turning over at a slower rate.
- 41:23They're utilizing oxygen at a lower rate.
- 41:26And so if we see that, then we look for, well, what could be causing that?
- 41:31Is there some underlying infection?
- 41:33Are they low on iodine?
- 41:35Do they simply need a low dose of thyroid?
- 41:40And then what we do is we look at their brain through
- 41:44uh a genetic test to look at a DIO2 gene to see if they're converting inactive thyroid to active thyroid in the brain, T4 to T3.
- 41:53And many people are deficient in their ability to do that.
- 41:56So then if they get thyroid replacement, they're going to need a combination of active T3 and inactive T4, not just inactive T4 like Synthroid like is typically prescribed.
- 42:08So when you tease these things apart and then put back together the
- 42:12the solution, the lights come on for people, energy comes on.
- 42:15And then all of a sudden, yes, it's easier to lose weight.
- 42:18It's also easier to focus.
- 42:19It's easier to be motivated.
- 42:21Right.
- 42:21So we think thyroid is, is really critical to get right whenever you're talking about weight loss.
- 42:27So yeah, that's another thing.
- 42:29And then the other thing we do is we do a two hour glucose tolerance test with an insulin curve for everybody, because that's critical.
- 42:36There's so much.
- 42:37There's so much underlying insulin resistance out there, even in people that have normal hemoglobin A1Cs.
- 42:43Let's say their hemoglobin A1C is 5.2 and their fasting blood sugar is 88.
- 42:49You'd say, you know, every doctor on the planet would say, you are not diabetic.
- 42:53You have nothing to worry about.
- 42:55Our approach is to say, that's great.
- 42:57That's great at rest.
- 42:58Let's do a stress test.
- 43:00So let's have you drink 75 grams of glucose and see what happens.
- 43:06And many times people will control that very well, but other times people's blood sugar will shoot up to 180.
- 43:12It shouldn't get over 135.
- 43:13And their insulin level will go up, shouldn't go up more than five times the resting level and it'll go up 10 or 15 times.
- 43:21So we immediately know that they have insulin resistance.
- 43:24And then genetically we can see that they may be predisposed to that.
- 43:28when you, when you take this, when you do the actual deconstruction,
- 43:33of the person's genetics, their metabolism, their biometric testing, you can actually come up with a program that becomes a custom fit.
- 43:43And you're able to weave this together in a way where people get results they couldn't get otherwise.
- 43:49And they can get there much faster because you're not really just throwing potential solutions at the wall and hoping one sticks.
- 43:57You're basically giving them exactly what it is they need.
- 43:59It's kind of like everybody's a
- 44:01an F1 car, Formula One car, a Ferrari, right?
- 44:03If you bring it into the shop because it's not running right, you don't just throw tires on it.
- 44:08You don't just throw oil in it and hope that fixes it, right?
- 44:11You've got to actually do the diagnostics to see where is the issue and then you can put it back out on the track.
- 44:17That's kind of how we think about it.
- 44:19So that's why you're a genius because you're really dialing, it's not a one size fits all.
- 44:24You're truly, truly personalized precision medicine here.
- 44:29And you're like almost reverse engineering.
- 44:32You're looking under the, you're not just like the typical mechanic who's just doing the fundamentals.
- 44:39You're seeing it, you're doing deep, deep diagnostic, seeing the biological pathways.
- 44:43What's working, what's not.
- 44:45What genes are turned on, what's not.
- 44:46What are we dealing with here?
- 44:47Everyone is.
- 44:48private and personalized and that's why you get better results.
- 44:52right.
- 44:52And then, you know, their hormones factor into it, too.
- 44:54What is your testosterone, estrogen, progesterone?
- 44:57What's that look like?
- 44:57You know, where are you?
- 44:58There are many factors that go into this.
- 45:00Biology is a complex system.
- 45:03And so you have to take this systems approach to it to actually get the best results for people.
- 45:07But to your point, when you do, you can get really durable results for people.
- 45:12And that's really gratifying.
- 45:14I mean, you change people's lives, right?
- 45:16And I think, you know, we're excited to kind of incorporate
- 45:19some of the red light stuff beyond what we've currently had as another tool and another piece of the solution.
- 45:26So that's cool stuff.
- 45:27Yeah.
- 45:27I predict as you layer these new technologies, including the hyperbaric, with red light therapy inside there, by the way, people, which is very unusual.
- 45:37So, I mean, you're really getting the top echelon, top tier stuff, the latest, most innovative, most cutting edge technologies.
- 45:46You're an incredible success.
- 45:47I predict that you're going to feel so professionally even set it fulfilled even more.
- 45:55And I know that you're make you're you're changing lives.
- 45:59So this is the beauty and the magic of it.
- 46:02that's the joy right there is really helping people step forward into everything that they can become, right?
- 46:07That's really the joy of it for, I think for both of us.
- 46:10Well, Mike, I really appreciate you taking the time to chat here.
- 46:14It's been great.
- 46:15on top of all that you do and you understand it is you layer in the mindset approach like longevity medicine, the number one thing is shift your mindset people and you will...
- 46:26uh
- 46:27yeah, it's a new world out there, right?
- 46:29It's a new world when you optimize your mindset for sure.
- 46:33So, but yeah, well, appreciate
- 46:36longevity.
- 46:37So I get that about you and what you're doing.
- 46:39So it's a beautiful thing.
- 46:41just full disclosure, Dr.
