- 0:53Hello and welcome to another episode of Bible Women in Bathrobes.
- 0:56I'm your host, Tamara K.
- 0:58Anderson.
- 0:58And joining me today are two wonderful women, Wendi Christensen.
- 1:03Wendi, welcome and thanks for being here.
- 1:06Thanks for having me on.
- 1:07I'm so happy to be here and talk about this subject.
- 1:11And Kari, Anjewierden.
- 1:12Kari, thanks for being here.
- 1:15Thanks for inviting me.
- 1:16I'm excited as well.
- 1:19This is a fun topic, you guys.
- 1:22And it is so interesting to dive into these more ancient names of Jesus, how they knew him in the Old Testament and yet how we see kind of the same strains in the New Testament and how we see
- 1:40the same strains of who he is in affirmations.
- 1:44And so we're going to kind of tie all this together and explain that whole process.
- 1:50So, Kari, let's kick it off.
- 1:52I know you were doing some research especially, especially into the names of Jehovah and I am, or Yahweh as he was called in the Old Testament.
- 2:01Why don't you go ahead and kind of talk us through what you found as far as the meaning of those.
- 2:09So I was looking in Strong's Concordance, which gives a lot of background in the Greek and the Hebrew translations of words.
- 2:19And as I was looking these up, these are some of the words, some of the phrases that, that I was seeing in Exodus, it talks about Yehovah is the word which is self existent or eternal.
- 2:38The name I am is indicative of to be, to exist.
- 2:45And in John 8:55, he taught it, it says, this is the Greek Emma, I me, myself.
- 2:55So he's talking about I am.
- 2:58It is I, I exist, I have been, I will be.
- 3:04And so there's, there's a couple of Greek words, the Emma or I me.
- 3:10And both of those talk about that he is, that he was, that he always will be.
- 3:17So when he is declaring I am Jehovah, I am, that I am, I am the great I am.
- 3:27It's his declaration, it's his stamp of this is who I am.
- 3:32This is my credential.
- 3:34And that's all you need to know.
- 3:35Right.
- 3:36So I love that.
- 3:38And I also love the word unchangeable in here with the Eternal, because He is, he was, he always will be.
- 3:48And we know that he's an unchangeable God.
- 3:51One of the things that struck me as I was reading these and thinking of this declaration of who he is, I think in our world today, we deal a lot with unbelief.
- 4:04And here God is saying, believe in me.
- 4:09I am.
- 4:10I always have been.
- 4:12I'm here.
- 4:14Believe that I'm here.
- 4:16Believe that I have always existed.
- 4:18Believe that I in my promises.
- 4:20Right.
- 4:21And I know we'll get into more of that as we talk, but those were some of the things that I pulled out of this study that I did as I was reading about the Greek and Hebrew and their
- 4:33terminology.
- 4:35Yeah, it's so beautiful and I find it so fascinating.
- 4:38As I was also diving into it in preparation for this episode, I found it interesting that a lot of that precious name of God, Jehovah, was removed from the Old Testament and reverenced him, and they substituted the word
- 4:58Lord or God.
- 4:58But you will see it capitalized in the Old Testament.
- 5:02And.
- 5:02And I think it was in obedience to that, one of the Ten Commandments where it says that we need to keep his name holy.
- 5:11You know, that.
- 5:12And.
- 5:12And that is something I think we struggle with as a society and whole in.
- 5:18In this, these times is.
- 5:21It seems like not very mean.
- 5:23Many things are held holy or of high regard enough that we keep it really sacred.
- 5:29And so I think we can learn something from the ancient Jewish people and their love and their honor and the respect of Jehovah as the great I am.
- 5:40And that they held that name so, so sacred that they.
- 5:45They almost didn't dare say it.
- 5:47It was reserved probably for the rituals or stuff like that.
- 5:51It was very, very hallowed.
- 5:55And you see it coming up, for example, in when Moses was called by the burning bush and he gets his call to go and.
- 6:04And save the Israelites from the Egyptians.
- 6:07He's like, who should I say sent me?
- 6:10This is Exodus 3:14.
- 6:12And God said unto Moses, I am that I am.
- 6:15And he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I am hath sent me unto you.
- 6:21So I think he's saying, the eternal God, you know, of our fathers, basically is what it translate to almost the one who has always been eternal.
- 6:31I Love that word eternal.
- 6:32I love that we can substitute that for this.
- 6:35Wendi, any thoughts?
- 6:38Yeah, just as you're talking, you know, the, the Israelites, that.
- 6:42That was a big deal to them, and it was so holy, that name.
- 6:46And they all looked to this great Jehovah coming and him being known as the great I am.
- 6:56So when Christ does come and declares himself as the great I am, they're all like, blasphemous.
- 7:04That's blasphemy.
- 7:05Like, no way can you declare that you are this great I am that we have talked about and preached about and looked forward to and.
- 7:13And wanted to come.
- 7:14And that's why it was such a big deal when Christ declares that he is that great I am.
- 7:20That's.
- 7:20That's a big reason why he was crucified.
- 7:23Right.
- 7:24Was this whole thing centered around that, that he was declaring to be this person that they had been anticipating and looking for and waiting for to come and redeem them.
- 7:36And they didn't believe it was Christ.
- 7:38Some did not those.
- 7:40Not those religious leaders, they did not believe that this was him.
- 7:44And so it says a lot about just him declaring and knowing and understanding who he was, that he truly was that great.
- 7:53And all he had to say is, I am and I am.
- 7:57And they were like, what?
- 7:58I know they wanted to stone him.
- 8:01How can you say that?
- 8:02No, you can't say that.
- 8:03You know, and so then.
- 8:05And I know you're going to get into more.
- 8:06I'm like, then how much more powerful is it for us to realize and understand when we're using at least I am statements and I am words, the power that it brings and how it does affect and influence us.
- 8:20I want to talk about more when we are ready.
- 8:22Well, and my understanding is the name Jehovah was used as a premortal Christ right before he was as a mortal body.
- 8:33Right.
- 8:33And that would be maybe something that would confuse them if.
- 8:38If they didn't understand some of those things as the Israelites, that if they didn't understand that terminology, that.
- 8:45That was a precursor to, you know, he will be coming, but also goes back to that eternal unchangeable, he always has been.
- 8:54Right.
- 8:55So he was God in the beginning.
- 8:57He still is God even after he comes.
- 9:00And that that mortal time period doesn't change that.
- 9:05It doesn't do anything to change that at all.
- 9:08Always the same then, now and forever.
- 9:10Right?
- 9:11Yeah.
- 9:12Well, and I also found it interesting.
- 9:14It goes back to what you were saying, Tamara, about how much they reverenced that name of Jehovah because it's only mentioned four times in the Old Testament.
- 9:26So, yeah, very, very sacred.
- 9:29I love that this is part of our names of Christ that we are talking about, because I think it's very, very important that we cover this, this name of Jesus as such a hallowed, beautiful name and so symbolic,
- 9:42tying this kind of together and opening up the discussion and to how it applies to us today.
- 9:49I love that I am meaning that he always was and always will be eternal.
- 9:57And we kind of take that and we look at some of the words we see in the New Testament.
- 10:04He says, I am the bread of life.
- 10:06I am the light of the world.
- 10:07I am the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the life, the way, the truth and the life, the vine.
- 10:13I mean, those were just some of the ones you can find in the New Testament.
- 10:17And all those things talk about different ways that Jesus can help us.
- 10:25You know, he gives us food and nourishment, the bread of life, the light of the world.
- 10:30I am the light of the world.
- 10:31He gives us light.
- 10:32He's the door through which we enter into to our salvation.
- 10:37We've talked about him being the good shepherd, the resurrection and life.
- 10:41He gives us the opportunity to be resurrected.
- 10:44The way, the way we walk, the truth, the life.
- 10:47He gives us life, the vine.
- 10:49I was just thinking, like, I did some pruning this weekend, and of course I.
- 10:54We're chopping off things that are growing way beyond their bounds, and anytime you cut anything off, it dies, it withers.
- 11:02And it just shows how much our souls and spirit need Jesus.
- 11:08Right.
- 11:10Oh, so, so, so badly.
- 11:13And so I'd like to open up this discussion of Jesus as Jehovah and the great I am.
- 11:19But tying it into these powerful I am statements that we can say about ourselves and perhaps hope are eternal beings and who we can be through Christ.
- 11:30And I thought I'd let Wendi kick us off with this because you did a awesome presentation on this, this, this past week.
- 11:38Yes, I was.
- 11:39So it was so fun.
- 11:40I got to talk to.
- 11:42Yeah.
- 11:42Over 400 kids just about this very topic and just remembering who they are.
- 11:47And I think it's so beautiful as we introduce.
- 11:50You know, when Christ went to introduce Himself, like you were just saying, Tamara, he would say, I am the good shepherd, I am the bread, the life, and the life.
- 11:57He.
- 11:58He knew who he was, and he had to know who he was and understand who he was in order to fulfill his mission.
- 12:04Right.
- 12:05To complete his mission, he had to have an understanding of who he was.
- 12:10And I feel like that's why he would go into the wilderness before he went out on this big, you know, mission that he had his 40 days of fasting.
- 12:18And then he was tempted, right?
- 12:20He was tempted by, by Satan saying, go do this, like trying to tempt him with who he was.
- 12:28And, and go do this, go jump off this, go eat this.
- 12:30You know, you've been fasting.
- 12:32And.
- 12:32And he was able to remember who he was through that whole process.
- 12:38And we are really a piece of Christ, right?
- 12:42In, in a sense of being he was the great I am.
- 12:45And if we believe that we're part of him where we take upon his name, and if we're taking upon his name and becoming children in Christ, then we become part of that I am and that I am.
- 13:00Statements are really powerful because they help us with our identity and they help us to remember who we are.
- 13:07Just like Christ knew who he was to complete and fulfill his mission.
- 13:10Because if he hadn't, if he had failed, we could not return and have blessings and understand our true eternal nature of eternally who we are.
- 13:21If he had not fulfilled his mission and died and suffered for us, we couldn't change and repent ourselves and become new creatures, right?
- 13:28And to Christ.
- 13:29So those I am statements are just as important for us to know who we are and to understand our true identity.
- 13:37And what you put behind those two words, I am, you become.
- 13:42It's so easy with our negative self talk we have nowadays.
- 13:45It's so easy to be like, oh, I'm so shy, or I'm dumb, I'm overwhelmed, I'm fat, right?
- 13:51As women, we're always, I talk bad or I'm not smart, or I asked.
- 13:57I was asking some of these teens, what are some things you put behind that they would say, well, I'm not popular, I'm insignificant, I'm not enough, or I'm not capable.
- 14:06I think we as adult women do that I'm not enough.
- 14:09I'm not capable, maybe that I'm not enough.
- 14:11Looks like I'm not a good enough mom, I'm not doing this right, or I'm not good enough at this, taking care of my family or being a good enough wife or being a good enough housekeeper, whatever it is,
- 14:24it's that not being enough.
- 14:26But if we stop and step back, we really aren't enough.
- 14:33Bottom line, we really aren't.
- 14:35But if we step into that role of remembering Jesus Christ in our lives, then we do become enough.
- 14:44Because it is through Jesus Christ that we become enough.
- 14:48So then I am enough.
- 14:50Through Jesus Christ, I'm not enough as a mom, but when I pair up with Jesus Christ to help me in my parenting, I do step into being enough.
- 15:01And he guides me and he directs me, and he helps me to know what it is that I need to do or how I need to fulfill, or helps me to be more loving and kind, even in my
- 15:11role as wife.
- 15:12Right?
- 15:13I.
- 15:14I don't feel it off sometimes.
- 15:16But when I ask the Lord and say, help me to be better at this or help me to understand what I need to do, he helps me make my shifts, or even if I feel, like, insignificant, he can
- 15:27step in and say, hey, you did great.
- 15:29Because I'll be honest, after speaking to these youth, and I was like, oh, this was great.
- 15:34The next day, guess what popped into my head?
- 15:37You could have said this differently.
- 15:39You could have done this differently.
- 15:40Maybe you could have used a different example here.
- 15:43You could have shifted this and explained it better.
- 15:46I was doubting my presentation, right?
- 15:48And having second thoughts about, oh, I should have done this or this and this.
- 15:52And I had to stop myself because that Satan sneaking in, that sneaky Satan who's getting us to doubt ourselves, because that's his role.
- 16:00He tried to do that with Christ.
- 16:02Anytime we are feeling that eternal, divine role of I am a daughter of God, I am this important person, Satan will sneak in and he'll say, no, you're not.
- 16:15Well, maybe a little bit, but not here, not here.
- 16:18You're not good enough here and here and here, right?
- 16:22So I knew.
- 16:23I was like, I know what's going on.
- 16:25Satan's sneaking in, and he's trying to get me to doubt my presentation.
- 16:29He's trying to get me to doubt that I delivered it well enough, and I stopped it.
- 16:35And I went, no, no, no, no.
- 16:38I was teaching those kids that they were enough.
- 16:41Yes, I could have said this differently.
- 16:43And you know what?
- 16:44I'm going to tweak that.
- 16:45Yes, I could have done this differently.
- 16:46And, oh, I want to tweak that.
- 16:48But for what I did and how I showed up and what I needed to deliver that day, it was enough because I was talking about our Savior, Jesus Christ, and helping those kids remember who they were in Him.
- 17:01So I need to remember that right now.
- 17:03In Him, I was enough.
- 17:05I delivered what needed to be heard and fulfilled what needed to be there.
- 17:10I was enough because of him.
- 17:13So it was like a really good lesson for myself just to remember, even after giving that presentation, that I am enough in him because I am his.
- 17:22What we did is we created.
- 17:23I had them list negative things, like three to five negative things they say about themselves every day.
- 17:28So if you think, okay, what are some things I say about myself every day?
- 17:31If I look in the mirror, I'm like, oh, I'm not this.
- 17:35Or I'm anxious, I'm overwhelmed.
- 17:38You know, whatever it is, think about what are three things right now?
- 17:42Negative things you might think about yourself.
- 17:45You have it.
- 17:45You probably have it, huh?
- 17:46Do you guys have your things?
- 17:50Now we want to take that and we want to shift it.
- 17:54Okay, now I'm going to pair up with Christ, and I want to flip it so in Jesus Christ.
- 18:00Now what does that look like?
- 18:02So if I'm feeling like I'm not enough, then with him, I become enough.
- 18:09Or if I feel like, oh, man, look at those wrinkles.
- 18:12I am like, don't look very good.
- 18:14I have so many wrinkles, and I'm getting old.
- 18:18I can flip it, too.
- 18:19But you know what?
- 18:21It's okay.
- 18:21Because my body is enough.
- 18:23It takes care of me every single day.
- 18:25And it blesses me to love on my kids and to love on my family.
- 18:29Or it blesses me to help other people.
- 18:32And I want to be grateful for this beautiful body that I have.
- 18:35And I'm just thankful that I have it.
- 18:37Like, I switch it.
- 18:38So whatever it is, I'm switching it over to I am not.
- 18:42I'm switching it to I am and putting Christ in the equation.
- 18:47And you create these beautiful personal I am statements.
- 18:51So I want those three negatives to switch to three positives and my favorite three positive I am statements.
- 18:58When I'm feeling down or maybe I'm feeling not confident enough, I say, I am loved, I am capable, and I am enough.
- 19:08And sometimes I like to throw in I am his just to remind me.
- 19:12But when I do that, if I stop and pause, if I'm feeling insignificant or I can't do this, and I pause and I take a deep breath, and I'm like, okay, I am enough.
- 19:23I am capable.
- 19:25I am his whatever.
- 19:27Whatever resonates that day.
- 19:30Then it's almost like this power surge.
- 19:32This just this surge of power where I just feel, okay, I got this.
- 19:37I can do it.
- 19:37I can do it.
- 19:38Let's go.
- 19:39I can go again.
- 19:40Because I'm believing what I'm saying about myself.
- 19:44And I know Christ has my back and it allows me to step into the space that I need to step into.
- 19:49Usually it's in the bathroom that I'm doing it, or maybe it's a closet or driving in the car.
- 19:56But it doesn't matter because it.
- 19:58It reinforces and it gives me that reminder, oh, he's with you, and you are significant, and he sees you, and you can do this.
- 20:09You're capable.
- 20:10You're enough.
- 20:11You're strong.
- 20:13I love that so much.
- 20:14It.
- 20:15And it reminds us of our eternal nature and worth and calling as God's daughters to do these things with him, connected to him, yoked with him.
- 20:30Because, like, you're right, by ourselves, we're not enough.
- 20:32But with him, we are.
- 20:34And we can become who he needs us to become.
- 20:37So I love that.
- 20:38Kari, any thoughts?
- 20:40Yeah, just thinking about.
- 20:42About his I am statements that he makes.
- 20:46And as we pair ourselves with him, we reap all those benefits, right?
- 20:51He is our protection.
- 20:53We don't need to be anxious or afraid.
- 20:56He is our healer.
- 20:58So even though life may be hard with him, things maybe not immediately are better, but.
- 21:07But they will be better.
- 21:09And just that ability to trust in his I am statements.
- 21:16As we pair those with our I am statements, like putting them side by side, the strength that that brings, you know, it's kind of like the.
- 21:26The binding of a couple of cords.
- 21:29Alone, they're not so strong, so ours would not be so strong.
- 21:33But when we pair them with Christ, they're unbreakable.
- 21:38If we keep pairing them over and over again, they're unbreakable.
- 21:43And I just love.
- 21:45I love that I can trust him for those things, that I can look at his I am statements and know he will be everything.
- 21:53He says that bread of life, that living water, that door, like you said, to eternity.
- 22:03That the good shepherd, right, He's.
- 22:06He's watching over me.
- 22:08He will be there.
- 22:09He will call my name.
- 22:12He knows what I need in the moment.
- 22:14And if I turn to him, then I can see those things in myself.
- 22:20I can know who he sees me as and then who I can see myself as.
- 22:28Oh, that is so beautiful, Kari.
- 22:29.And.And such a good reminder because.
- 22:33And I love how, Wendi, you also brought up that the adversary tries to drag us down and get us to spiral in those negative thoughts, because it's true.
- 22:43And it's a battle we have to wage every single day.
- 22:48I love that in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ talked about how we can't serve God and Mammon.
- 22:56But I think every day we're presented with that choice.
- 23:00Who are we going to listen to today and the circumstances that we're in.
- 23:05Sometimes people are unkind and say mean things, and we may start to believe what they're saying.
- 23:11And just when that happens, reminding yourself who you truly are.
- 23:15No, no, no, no.
- 23:17Like Wendi said, I am good, I am kind.
- 23:21I am love, I am full of charity.
- 23:24I am.
- 23:25But we are only those things with Christ.
- 23:29So the I am part comes from Jesus.
- 23:32And then the kindness or whatever else we're describing ourselves comes from who we are trying to become.
- 23:40And so it is a daily choice that we have to remind ourselves over and over and over and over again so that we remember who we truly are, because we so easily forget.
- 23:54I think it's almost an.
- 23:55It's almost an autopilot thing that you need to get to because the research has shown that we have between 6,000.
- 24:04There's kind of differing numbers, but at least 6,000 thoughts a day clear up to 60,000 thoughts a day is where the research is, right?
- 24:146,000 to 60,000 thoughts a day.
- 24:17And what they found is 75 to 80% of those thoughts that we have every single day are negative.
- 24:25And then 95% of them are repetitive.
- 24:29So you're thinking the same things over and over and over and over again.
- 24:35And, and I think.
- 24:37And most of it's negative.
- 24:39At least 75% of it is negative of those 95 repetitive thoughts.
- 24:44So if I'm having all these thoughts per day.
- 24:48And our minds are wired, right, they're wired to go to the negative because we're protecting ourselves.
- 24:54It's that fight, flight or freeze.
- 24:55It's to protect the human being, to keep us safe.
- 25:01So our brains go to that automatic negative space of, oh, I gotta plan ahead, make sure I'm good to go here.
- 25:07Oh, I gotta make sure I'm okay here.
- 25:09Oh, am I safe?
- 25:11And so if you're in that space all that time, it's only common that you're going to think, I can't do this, or I'm not enough, or I don't know.
- 25:21That's not going to turn out.
- 25:22That's not going to work out.
- 25:23It's this anticipating, right?
- 25:26That's why there's so much anxiety in the world today, because we can't control all the circumstances around us.
- 25:32But imagine if we could automate more positive thinking.
- 25:39Statements about ourselves have these automatic I am statements about us to remind us on that daily basis of who we are and to step into those days each day more in that prefrontal cortex, which is where we process
- 25:53emotions better.
- 25:54It's where we're wise and we have that wisdom and we can work through problems better.
- 26:00We step into that space with powerful I am statements.
- 26:04It's going to shift so much in our lives to where we're creating the life we want rather than just letting it happen to us.
- 26:10Right?
- 26:11And so I, I think that it's.
- 26:14If you can get it more automated instead of going just right to the negative and pause it and go.
- 26:21Satan's trying to drag me down with some more negative junk today.
- 26:25And I'm just taking it hook, line and sinker.
- 26:28Here I go, taking the bait.
- 26:30But hey, I'm going to choose to follow Christ today.
- 26:33I'm going to choose to remember I'm part of his, in him.
- 26:37And I'm going to stand in that space of I am enough.
- 26:42I am capable.
- 26:43You almost like stand a little taller, right?
- 26:45It's your power pose.
- 26:46You stand a little taller.
- 26:48I am enough.
- 26:49Yeah, I need to switch things or change things because I think repentance is a big thing.
- 26:54We're always shifting a little bit to become more like him, right?
- 26:58We.
- 26:58He's our.
- 26:58He's our goal.
- 27:01But with him, I become so much more powerful if I've got those automatic I am statement.
- 27:07So I actually have an I am statement that I've been like put on my mirror.
- 27:11Or you can put it on your phone.
- 27:13Right?
- 27:14Your.
- 27:14Your powerful.
- 27:15Yeah.
- 27:16Yay.
- 27:17Look, Kari's got hers right there.
- 27:18And just have it where I can read it often to remind myself.
- 27:22Or like I said, I have my three go to phrases.
- 27:26My powerful I am that are simple, quick and fast.
- 27:28If I can't remember my paragraph of I am, or if I'm not right there in my bathroom to read it, where I can just ramble them off in my head to just be a good reminder.
- 27:41Oh, that's.
- 27:42That's right.
- 27:43That's who I am.
- 27:45I am his.
- 27:47Yeah, I am enough.
- 27:48Yeah, I'm totally capable.
- 27:49I've got this because he's got my back.
- 27:51So I can do this.
- 27:53I think that if we can make it more an automated thought, it could save us and bring us so much peace and comfort because of him.
- 28:04I love that.
- 28:04Wendi.
- 28:05I was gonna say that too.
- 28:07That just that being able to see it every day, to practice it every day.
- 28:15And.
- 28:16And I love to pair that with prayer.
- 28:18Right?
- 28:18Going to God and saying, will you help me with this?
- 28:22Because this is a weakness that I have.
- 28:24Will you help me make this a strength?
- 28:26Will you help me to practice this every day?
- 28:28I know I had an experience yesterday where on social media probably.
- 28:33And I was all of a sudden having this feeling of I'm not enough.
- 28:38Right.
- 28:39If I could Only be like, that person.
- 28:41The comparison.
- 28:41Absolutely.
- 28:43And I'm not even sure what happened, but in the moment, I was able to stop and God was able to help me replace that with.
- 28:53That's not true.
- 28:54That's not true about you.
- 28:56And I as God, have enough room for them to be awesome and for you to be awesome.
- 29:04And you don't have to compare yourself or put somebody else down, because you're both awesome and I have room and to spare.
- 29:12Right.
- 29:12And it was so beautiful to be able to say, yeah, yeah, with Christ, there is room enough.
- 29:20And I can rejoice in somebody else's things.
- 29:25I can cheer them on, you know, that they're good things.
- 29:28I can cheer them on.
- 29:29Instead of saying.
- 29:30Instead of being envious or jealous.
- 29:31Jealous and saying, I wish I was like that.
- 29:34Right.
- 29:35Instead, I can say, yeah, like you said, with God, I am that.
- 29:39I can be anything.
- 29:41Pairing that with the prayer.
- 29:43I love that example, Kari, because I think as women, we fall into comparison mode.
- 29:48I think way more than men, honestly.
- 29:52Like, we're constantly comparing.
- 29:54And I had another friend that taught me that same principle, and she was such a good example because I would see things and do the same thing, like, oh, I don't measure up.
- 30:03I'm not enough.
- 30:05And she would look at it as, let's celebrate both of you.
- 30:08This is awesome.
- 30:09Like, why can't you both be great at it and both stay in that space?
- 30:12And it really helped my mind to shift as well.
- 30:16To where now?
- 30:17Yeah, it's like God taught me that same concept that you shared.
- 30:22I had to learn that, too, so that now I can celebrate and go, that's okay.
- 30:26They're good at that.
- 30:27And their strengths are there.
- 30:29That's wonderful.
- 30:30And I have strengths in a different area that are wonderful, too.
- 30:34And we're both great.
- 30:36You know, you can both be really good at something that's so great.
- 30:41Well, ladies, let's wrap it up.
- 30:43I'd love to invite you to either share one of your I am statements or just a takeaway from today.
- 30:49Let's see.
- 30:49Kari, would you like to kick us off with that?
- 30:53Sure.
- 30:54I'm looking at my I am statement, since it's right here, or statements, because I have several.
- 31:00For me, my most prized statement, I call them my soul statements.
- 31:07I am a very choice daughter of God.
- 31:10It reminds me of who I am.
- 31:12It reminds me of my place with him.
- 31:15It reminds me of my importance with him.
- 31:19And that's all I need to know.
- 31:20That is the only title I need to give myself, is Daughter of God.
- 31:26If I am that if I am with him in that.
- 31:30Anything else, I mean, I have other statements, but all of these others just fall into place.
- 31:37He will help them all just fall into place exactly where they're supposed to be.
- 31:42I mean, I do have one that Christ is by my side helping me share different things.
- 31:47Discernment, judgment, wisdom, by following his voice in the Holy Ghost.
- 31:51Just that reminder that it comes through Christ that He is that rock.
- 31:56He is that he is everything.
- 32:01He is everything.
- 32:01And I am because he is.
- 32:05I love that.
- 32:06Thank you so much, Wendi.
- 32:08Yeah.
- 32:09You know, my first sentence of my I am statement is I am a daughter of heavenly parents who are pleased with me because I.
- 32:15That's how I.
- 32:15That's what I believe.
- 32:16That's my belief.
- 32:17And, and when I was first doing my I am statement, it seemed a little prideful, like, wow, you think all those great things about yourself.
- 32:27Like, I should be like, oh, I shouldn't say that.
- 32:29And then I had to stop and go, no, this is how I am seen by God.
- 32:34And I want to see myself the way he sees me.
- 32:38And so then I was able to step into that place of are a great blessing.
- 32:43You have courage and conviction.
- 32:45And I'm honest.
- 32:46And I looked at my spiritual gifts, I liked to look at, you know, I looked at my spiritual gifts and wanted to name those spiritual gifts and whether it was, you know, things other people had been had said
- 32:58about me or things I had heard and felt from from God.
- 33:02And so I put that in there.
- 33:04So that's why I.
- 33:05Some of my I am statements are, I have courage, I have integrity.
- 33:08I'm honest.
- 33:09I hear and listen to people.
- 33:11I.
- 33:12I bless people.
- 33:13I am a healer of souls.
- 33:14That was one that I heard really clearly because I work, I'm, you know, in therapy, I counsel with people.
- 33:20I try to help them to see and understand themselves.
- 33:22So I really wanted to put that in there.
- 33:25I also wanted to list just a few.
- 33:27If you're.
- 33:27If maybe listeners are like, I don't know, what are some I am statements?
- 33:32I am a child of God.
- 33:35I am created for joy.
- 33:36I am known and remembered by name.
- 33:39I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
- 33:42I am not my past.
- 33:43I am becoming.
- 33:45I am here for a reason.
- 33:47I am strong through him.
- 33:48I am loved, I am growing.
- 33:50I am his.
- 33:52Just a few.
- 33:53Maybe if you're like, I don't know, what are some names?
- 33:56Maybe choose a few of those or take the ones that are so negative and flip them.
- 34:02But I challenge our listeners to Just find at least, you know, at least three I Am statements that resonate with them and who they are.
- 34:11Whether that's a spiritual gift or compliment people give them all the time or something that represents a truth of how God sees them, which I am a child of God is a really big truth, but something that resonates
- 34:24just to help them to remember their true identity.
- 34:28Because you weren't sent here to Earth to wonder who you are.
- 34:32You were sent here to remember who you are, to remember who you've always been, which is his.
- 34:39I love that and I love that invitation of those.
- 34:42The the one that I was going to tack on is one I have in my I Am statements.
- 34:47And it is I am a strong, passionate and powerful warrior of light.
- 34:52And of course, that goes along with our group, Women warriors of Light.
- 34:56I've always felt passionate about fighting for myself and for others to feel God's love and light in their life.
- 35:03And so that one really resonates with me in addition to several that you guys have said.
- 35:09So I'm going to echo Wendi's words, write down your I Am statements.
- 35:13You are these things through Christ, and I'm so thankful for him as the great I am for the great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New Testament, our Savior, Redeemer and friend.
- 35:29And I pray that you can feel his love for you and see your worth and value eternally as he sees and knows his.
- 35:40He can help you do that.
- 35:42God bless my friends.
