- 0:46Happy World Cup Day guys.
- 0:49Happy World Cup Day yeah?
- 0:51If you bloody selves happy World Cup Day Jesus, we've got flags and stuff like that made for
- 0:57this as well. Just get in the spirit Tony. No I'm not happy World Cup Day Jesus because I have
- 1:06people falling and they're going happy to use the bomb and I just stop me to stop it.
- 1:09You're not happy to use the... Do you know what I'm showing you windows when you were
- 1:15a kid up there like the England flags popping out so you were driving down the streets.
- 1:18He's not stupid. No definitely not. Definitely not. I mean I have occasion they put an England
- 1:25top on so that's about as patriotic as it gets. Let's say that's quite patriotic.
- 1:32Try to be. You put like you put an England top on now. You walk down and see it.
- 1:36I don't know about now. Listen if we progress well I think new England top is not about
- 1:44top so the possibility will be helpful. I can see I can see you in a full kit. What do they call them?
- 1:49No you can't. No you can't. Definitely. You can't see me in that.
- 1:52Full kit. Not unless I'm playing football. Absolutely not no.
- 1:58What have you been up to recently fellas? We haven't seen each other for a couple of weeks.
- 2:04Yeah what have I been up to when I went playing golf in the worst weather conditions you've ever seen?
- 2:11It's 40 to 50 mile an hour winds and polar and rain and a place called
- 2:16cellist which was North Cumbria which was actually really good really good golf course but
- 2:22wouldn't recommend going up there in the rain like that again. And I went the pictures
- 2:27when the cinema they said you did. No I didn't sorry. No think again what else did I watch?
- 2:36No nostalgic. Think nostalgic. I have said they know as yeah okay Mario. No he man.
- 2:48Hey it's alright though. It's a bit cheesy. It is a bit cheesy. Yeah it's a bit cheesy.
- 2:54It puts no nostalgia. It was good like reminding me of being a kid. I didn't realize loads of
- 2:59people are into it. Yeah because like it was it was a huge car. It was one of the biggest cartoons
- 3:08when we were kids and then they obviously they made a film about it. In the same time they were
- 3:14making films about Transformers and stuff like that all animated. They made it a real life
- 3:19he-man doll for longer. I think it was I think it was slated a bit but it was decent. It was good
- 3:25for the kid. So when you grow up now and there's a chance to go watch he-man and it's done
- 3:30a little bit cheesy a little bit. It's trying to be funny but yeah it was alright. It was
- 3:35for someone like Mario is a big he-man fan as a kid. It was it was good. It was funny.
- 3:39Did you visit you in the box too? When it's always at you in a couple of yards?
- 3:43No on me on. I was going to pitch it on me on. I don't know he's not happy today.
- 3:49I can't say. I mean this night can't I lived in the cinema for basically
- 3:53five, six years when I was training in Sheffield. I used to go to the cinema once so we come
- 3:58me on. So yeah as part of me camp just to pass the hours. So I can't say nothing about being a
- 4:04lonely trooper in the cinema and at every time I'm being there I would say it's it's it's it's
- 4:08it's it's another year. I mean I just think I just leave me alone. I'm none of the mood
- 4:14right now. Just don't push me. I'm losing weight. I can't have no sweet or food because I was on a
- 4:19no sweet or no sweet or food. Yeah no sweet or food with me. I used to go to the cinema with a
- 4:26protein bar and that was a process called out of bottle of water. It's camp was hard. Sorry yeah.
- 4:33Oh well. I was on a diet yesterday or at least I'm trying to be good for the summer so I only
- 4:40had a large popcorn. A large fan sir and some chocolates. So that was pretty good. That's
- 4:49yeah. Yeah it wasn't too bad. I was going me on though. I ain't going to pitches with there
- 4:54with people. I mean why it just punches me because she gets scared or she doesn't know what's
- 4:58going on and she's like grabbing me and punching me and the kids the kids just talk all the way through
- 5:04they're not even interested. So yeah just always prefer going on me on. Yeah I'll back it me.
- 5:09And you watched that yesterday didn't you? Yeah. Yeah. Did you watch the England game yesterday?
- 5:15I did. I did. So we were all right actually better than the New Zealand game.
- 5:21I think it's it's looking more like the team that will probably start next week against Croatia.
- 5:28I thought the back four was quite settled. I think there was talk about gay
- 5:37play and bookons are played and I could completely understand why because I think it is the
- 5:42toss up between stones and gay because I think cons is pace despite people thinking he's the third
- 5:48choice out of them. I think cons is pace gets him in for counter attacks and recovery
- 5:52and the rest was I thought the rest played well. I thought my advocate did okay. He's got to score
- 5:58his chance. I think maybe Sakka will come in every's fit enough next week but I think God
- 6:05and we'll start because he goes on the outside and then the rest of the team was was pretty
- 6:08so much. Don't know if you guys watched it. Yeah I see you know. I mean the mother
- 6:13with a chance a big one in there. I mean he's one and one but is he 10 10 yards out of the goal?
- 6:20He's just got to go on it. I mean it literally has to go and it makes me question.
- 6:26I mean one thing I think he is is he's legs and he's up and down and he's everywhere and I think
- 6:33he's so warm. He's a player who you go you know he's going to do as his told. Whatever he's told
- 6:38to do you know he's going to do that's what that's what I think that the way he's there for.
- 6:42So he hasn't scored lots of goals this season as he for Arsenal either.
- 6:47He's not got any assists. He's right and that's definitely the part of his game he needs to
- 6:55improve on. You just saw that within that snippet that it's summed up as it's time so far.
- 7:02It sums up his game that he's got pace to build. Scary scary pace transitions really well.
- 7:09It's got great skill to go around the goalkeeper. That's good skill the way he rolled his foot
- 7:13over the ball of that pace. But ultimately it's about putting the ball in the back of the goal
- 7:17and you've got to find a way of doing that consistently. I felt like he was a little bit
- 7:24not nervous but a little bit disappointed in himself from then. Then till half time I thought
- 7:29he just passed it off quite quickly. I didn't think I was seeing him first after that but
- 7:33had a chat obviously with the manager and must you know running at half time and anyway came back
- 7:38out in a second half with real thrust and real desire to get the ball wide and drop the shoulder
- 7:42he had a couple shots in the second half that went close before he came off. So there is a top player
- 7:50in there but at international level in major tournaments when you get them opportunities you've
- 7:58got to finish. Morgan Rogers was the same in the same half. Really good chance. I know he'd not
- 8:02been on an incredible amount of time but he was on the pitch big chance and missed it. Now I'm not
- 8:09trying to sort of go on with the negatives of a 3-0 win because it was a good win. You just hope
- 8:16that they use that for what it was and friendly. When it gets to you know the main moments of the
- 8:22World Cup hopefully the latter stages you have to take those moments and yeah disappointed that
- 8:28he didn't because it was more like a 5-0 game it really was. I was thinking about the Gordon.
- 8:34I'll go on Tony. Sorry. Do you know when it goes to his right first I'm trying to think of which
- 8:40play it was and it goes to his left foot so I need to get to the right. How is the player not
- 8:47too footed? I was a professional footballer and not competent or not competent. We're hitting
- 8:52him on his left foot. There should be no excuse in the world. If a big doughnut like making hit
- 8:58a ball with two feet then a professional footballer will see. I can't believe it. Oh listen I can
- 9:05take a penalty without the foot and I'll tell you now the boat going in as well. But if a big
- 9:12punch he don't like me can do it as it just frustrates me so much when I see a player.
- 9:18Not as it got too good feet. It just thinks me like what are you doing day and day
- 9:24else? You could use two feet perfect. Thank you. They generally they can use boat feet better than
- 9:35your average job. But when the pressure is on people tend to go with their best ability,
- 9:43their best foot, their best moment. Maybe because they haven't really had the opportunity
- 9:50to use the so-called week of foot in pressure moments. So when these pressure moments come
- 9:55they revert back to their strong foot. I mean like they should have in hindsight used just
- 10:02slowed himself down initially and then allowed the boat just to cover another centre meter or two
- 10:06onto his right foot and hit the ball with his right foot rather than rather than do his left foot.
- 10:11But some of the best players in the world and certainly a lot of players that have had a career
- 10:17were just being a master of one foot. I mean messing. Yes he can use his right foot but you don't
- 10:23see it very often. Paul Mason was a top player. He basically never used his left foot. He did
- 10:29everything with the insiders outside of his right foot. There are people that just become an
- 10:34absolute master of one foot in any situation and there are some people that manage to wear two
- 10:42feet so it becomes more unpredictable. I'm not saying it is probably best to be able to use two
- 10:50feet but to do it in a pressure situation you have to actually practice it in kind of a pressure
- 10:56situation and in that moment he decided to go this left foot and obviously got it wrong.
- 11:01I just think you've got that much time every single day you are you like you don't do nothing
- 11:08else you are a professional footballer that is your life and just make come on just just just
- 11:14be practice with your left. I mean listen I think in academies one day a week should be used
- 11:21to train with your bad foot. Just one day a week. I mean the day five days a week anyway most
- 11:27C&1 academies one day a week should be used to work purely in solely on your bad foot. I think that's
- 11:33a decent idea because I think now you're talking about players in England, the England squad
- 11:39are you talking about? I know what you're saying there. If you talk about top level players
- 11:44yes they can have time to work on their week foot but it's harder to actually develop
- 11:49your weaknesses at a late stage the best time to do it is between 8 and 14. Hammer it in
- 11:55if you hammer in people using two feet at that point or basically the majority of skills you want
- 12:02them to learn or at least footwork and the ability to move your feet and then you can pick up
- 12:08skills quite easily further down the line but yeah the majority of that is from from really young
- 12:14hammer it in and that's not bad idea with regards to in an academy every you know third trainer session
- 12:20or certainly a couple of them a month are literally week foot only and you actually coulded it
- 12:27in that moment but yeah look it was it it was a chance that came and went it was it was a chance
- 12:33when we were already winning because you know you just touched on it early and Anthony Gordon
- 12:38started the game brilliantly questions of whether Gordon or Rashford had started and I think
- 12:45you saw the reasons why in the bigger game Gordon might start certainly from from the off because
- 12:53yes they both got ridiculous pace Gordon in particular but he'll go on the outside and when you play
- 12:58against players that haven't got the pace that he's got it just gives him so many options it gives
- 13:05the pitch a real bigger sort of stretch it allows people to come inside declin racing people could
- 13:10join in and when Gordon went around the the full battery get a total of time to didn't he I mean
- 13:16the light was like I've got something after I went that was but always coming up and I'm not
- 13:20ridiculous I'm not sure but he played yellow card that he was looking at to give a pen away he was
- 13:25you know was was struggling to lay a glove on him and we had pretty much five people in the box
- 13:31every time I went to Gordon went around them which which again was a great time and do you think
- 13:38you've seen anything different to the way England have set up so what you're expecting are you
- 13:45no no particularly I think again go back to what the managers been intending the whole time
- 13:53it spoke about before he came in moved away a little bit from what Gareth Southgate was doing
- 13:59which was getting the best players out on the pitch is identified who is main person to build the
- 14:05team round is because that's what you've got to do you've got to build the team round about round
- 14:10a certain play it's Harry Kane and because of that you looked you mean Harry Kane was in our
- 14:14own penalty area taking people on yesterday I mean it was a little bit nerve-wracking when I think
- 14:20it was Jordan giving the ball or one of the the centre-offs giving the ball but he just drops
- 14:24a shoulder you know see but that's a set of four so you're allowing to do what he wants and then
- 14:30what you do after that is you sort of make sure that the balance is at the top end of the pitch that's
- 14:36why you're Gordon's and you you might work easier up there that's why you're belling him's up there
- 14:40it can go and play set of four with the rotations there the two-centimate fielders are pretty set
- 14:46John Stones is looking sharper and sharper I know he played 45 minutes through the day play
- 14:52about an hour yesterday do you think it starts and there's in the big games I didn't think he did
- 15:00well there's no doubt that he's sorry I didn't think he was going to because of the injury hit
- 15:05season he's had there's no doubt he's a top player I mean look at what he's won look at the levels
- 15:09he's played that look at the big moments he's had in his career he is an experience head and a
- 15:15calmer influence within the team and if you can get him up to speed and he's going to not have injuries
- 15:21which have been recurring as he's got older than yeah he probably he probably does start that
- 15:26the main Tony scene just as much as I am Tony you're a big fan of John aren't you yeah top player
- 15:31mate really in player yeah probably the best footballers entered off this country scene since
- 15:38Rio Ferdinand exceptional player very good defender and has won the absolute lot so
- 15:48yeah as I was touching on each spot on the injuries will be a concern but if he's fit and Thomas
- 15:54Tucho will know if he's fit or not by what he's doing in camp how the transitions are going if he's
- 15:59fit I mean you're playing him I'm sorry I mean don't get me wrong the the lack of the pace will
- 16:05probably worry Tucho a little bit especially when teams if we can imagine coming up against the
- 16:10likes of France and stuff but I don't know it's going to be really changing it will he completely
- 16:16change the shape if he goes up against the France because he's not going so to tell with that from
- 16:20for the France no one in the well time so so you have to look at I mean he's going to pick certain
- 16:25players for certain games he's going to have to be able to adapt and change it'll be interesting to
- 16:31see but I think Stonzie could be could be a big player as well or so if you ask him to just sit
- 16:37in the defensive midfield roll they can do that as well sit in a two with Dechland Rice if he
- 16:41wants him to do that he could be the deeper one Dechland could be slightly in front of him but
- 16:45I don't know there's so many different things Stonzie can do but when it comes to just being a
- 16:49pure football and defender there's not many better than him do you think Tucho started to win
- 16:56not win over but there was a lot of concerns around the squad that each hook originally when
- 17:01it was named and then we've had these two friendlies and we start to actually look like there's a
- 17:05style of playing harmony between the players do you think that sort of morale over the being
- 17:10them fan bases is improved are we more confident that we can have success in this work or
- 17:16yeah but I think this is I think this is always natural I think this always happens I think
- 17:22regardless of any squad he would have picked I think when you're only when that you're about to
- 17:27start the World Cup before you kick the ball really I think those players that aren't in the squad
- 17:33are not forgotten about but less noise is made all the noise about picks is is made initially when
- 17:40it happens that we spend a week or so or how long you get between them and the tournaments dissect
- 17:46in it people say opinions negatively positively but once the tournament before once the tournament
- 17:52is starting before you play the first game everybody just knows this is the squad we've got this is
- 17:57what we're dealing with no one's now looking at those that aren't there everyone's looking
- 18:00positively everyone's seeing the game plan and that'll continue to be positive until we suffer
- 18:06our first setback then again the noise will come out that's because Tony's best mate folding's not
- 18:13there or that's because Harmer's not there or whoever it might be then people start going my
- 18:17love we'd have had them in the squad then Thomas Tuchel's got it wrong but if if we keep taking
- 18:22along nicely then then everyone will see the positivity in what he's doing now I think there's
- 18:29always pressure on England managers gotta self-gate not so much initially but brought on himself because
- 18:35of the relative success that he had getting us to the latter stages of multiple tournaments and
- 18:40the pressure's on Thomas Tuchel to to get us to at least the semi-finals which in this in
- 18:46America's in the Americas you know on that side of the world where the heat is ridiculous and
- 18:52the competition is fierce it's not a given to get us to to to to that stage of the tournament it's
- 18:58not a it's not a clicky fingers but definitely going to be there what's going to happen is there's
- 19:03a lot of games that need to be played in performances that need to be put in and then you hope
- 19:07you get to that those moments the semi-final the final where decisions have been criticised maybe
- 19:14from Garret Southgate in those major moments that Thomas Tuchel has planned for them is squad
- 19:18has built for them the depth is there is he mentioned his words where we we're ready for every
- 19:24eventuality he hoped that that's the case that he sees all these eventualities and that when he
- 19:29turns to his bench in these crucial moments in the latter stages or even in a difficult situation
- 19:35in in the quarter finals we saw England actually under Garret Southgate struggle in certain games
- 19:40which he'd belling him over a kick in the last minute being one that got us got us through that
- 19:45moment you hope that that he's planned for them and that we can get through one thing I wanted to
- 19:51ask you after the back of our last conversation when we were talking about England we were the bait
- 19:55and remember we were going to have Rodgers or or Bellingham in the tent you think we're any nearer to
- 20:00an answer on that would you tell us something up be swapping and changing
- 20:05so what do you think it's belling on order the most time you're playing you stay let you know
- 20:12and I think the way even at the start of when King goes off he sticks belling him up top
- 20:17as a false man it's just let you know he belling him probably isn't very man after King who did
- 20:24you give the captain a bunch of him came one off
- 20:28exactly exactly exactly came on sack it's up the arm band yeah it's again he was
- 20:35that's interesting obviously where's it a lot for Arsenal I know he's young but
- 20:40there doesn't seem to be any real panic problem does it doesn't it not worry any use that the fact
- 20:46that the noise coming out of there is the scene is not a hundred percent fit
- 20:50hmm that what he's doing massively because he's a big big player and he's an important
- 20:55player for the team and I just think if you're on a hundred percent fit like what's going on
- 20:59here you know I can't have it you know everyone's got to be absolutely on fire and flying for the
- 21:06workup it depends on what the actual issue is and I don't know if we've we've got to the bottom
- 21:14of exactly what it is that's been troubling him as a disancle it was he was obviously missed
- 21:19the international's in March he missed a few Arsenal games but we've spoke about this
- 21:25we spoke about this before Tony in terms of not many footballers go into every game without
- 21:30feeling something yeah so just depends on it depends on what it is if he can be you know 95% fit
- 21:39because that's all you ever really get who you never wonder if you can get to that latter stage
- 21:43where you are literally nothing nothing's going to hold you back where you're going to struggle to
- 21:47play to train in between in between the games and in the build up because you're trying to manage it
- 21:53then you say that's that's fine if if he's playing 70 minutes a game he's fit enough he doesn't need
- 21:58to train in between there's no issue there so in that sense his injury doesn't worry me
- 22:04the injury would worry me if if he's unable to play more than 20 minutes in a game if he
- 22:10says he's only limited to that that would that would worry me because then actually it is a it is
- 22:16something that is holding him back within games you think he's gonna start I think you probably
- 22:23will yeah I think he will start next next week I think the fact that he came on was a good song
- 22:30they'll manage his minutes in between now and then don't forget I know we talk about
- 22:35players need to be up to speed and fit he played in the Champions League fan obviously just over two
- 22:40weeks ago 10 days ago whatever whatever that wasn't I wasn't too long ago so he won't have lost his
- 22:47his fitness or his sharpness that bringing him on the penalty in the Champions League fan and I
- 22:53we've been sucked in the 87th minute or something like that okay um for mad I think it was for
- 23:00mad weke you came on and he took it did you take a bit and I can't remember no he never took another
- 23:06game and took one now yeah yeah that's the nice score I am Gachres I think yeah
- 23:23Martin Ali yes it was very good time so yeah I'm not too I'm not too concerned about him I would say
- 23:34I think it's I know what you're saying about Bellingham looks like he's got that position now
- 23:39but I think it's a toss and a coin between them too I really do I don't think it's I think Morgan
- 23:45Rogers has propelled himself into such high thinking at the moment that we're not too bothered if
- 23:53it would we wouldn't be overly surprised if he started Rogers over Bellingham or Bellingham or
- 23:56Rogers regardless and he preference I think Rogers has done that well this year but you know
- 24:02you have to take your chances he missed that big chance that'll be way in on his mind this morning
- 24:06especially if he especially if he finds himself on the bench next week that'll be way in
- 24:10heavily on his mind yeah he also wants to know what it is when you when you know it's almost
- 24:15too cool saying things like yeah do Bellingham looks like he got the bit back between his teeth and
- 24:21the injuries don't work well and there's attitude and all these these words that come out of these
- 24:25press comments is you just you usually take with a picture so but when he's saying what he's saying
- 24:30and too cool really this praise to the likes of Bellingham and stuff like that so
- 24:34with him saying that I just think he's saying he's basically seeing the different kind of
- 24:38the kid who's come back to camp you know maybe maybe maybe it was a challenge for him maybe
- 24:43those words that he's been saying that he's not necessarily going to start and it's you know he's
- 24:48got a bit of word to do and maybe that was a challenge to say either I'm not quite happy with
- 24:54with what you've done so far whether that be performance or effort or you're not quite up to the
- 24:59Jude Bellingham that we know you can make because you're injury and you need to work hard on
- 25:04either way seems to have seemed to have stepped this game up doesn't he wants that position he's a
- 25:08true competitor in those moments to make sure that he's that he's going to be basically starting
- 25:15no one wants to be on the bench no matter what team you're in don't care what team you're in no
- 25:19one wants to be on the bench certainly that was the thinking years ago I mean I suppose I suppose
- 25:25a few players now would say that you know over the course of a league season over the course of
- 25:32you know European football as well maybe over the course of a tournament where there's
- 25:37multiple games you know with a game coming every three or four days it's not the worst thing to
- 25:41be rotated it'd be part of a squad but I'd still say that everyone wants to play every minute
- 25:46that they can no getting away from that Jude Bellingham's right at the top of his game and at the
- 25:50top of the game and yeah Real Madrid's one of Real Madrid's biggest talent you'd expect to start
- 25:58for England predictions for the crochet game I think we should beat them I think they're going
- 26:10to have the challenges of of heating all that the same results I think we're a better squad than
- 26:16them and team than them but I'm still going to say one more okay I'm going to be cautious and say
- 26:25yeah I hope we win but I won't be surprised if it's if it's a score draw really wouldn't
- 26:33what do you think it's going to be? Well I'm inclined to go similar to that I just don't I think
- 26:37they're a really good team and you know also to manage tournaments did the really welcome football
- 26:42you're the managed football tournament football so well so yeah I don't think that's as easy as a game
- 26:49if we get off to a fly and we do beat them that's really really positive I'd really go but I just
- 26:53think yep I think you'll start the tournament and think just don't lose this game don't lose this
- 27:00game because then you lose that game you're under pressure you're under serious pressure so I think
- 27:05they set out to not lose that game and I think a point isn't a bad thing because you look at the
- 27:09next two games coming up to the winnable big winnable games but think about that though actually
- 27:14you know mindset because usually you're right when it's start to be well cut for the start of
- 27:20the tournaments because there's groups of four and only two ever go through you your mindset is
- 27:26exactly what you've just said Tony don't lose the first game you know because you you kind of
- 27:32you know struggling to qualify if you lose the first game you then got to win both your next game
- 27:36you put the pressure on yourself because pretty much three teams go through in every in every
- 27:43group you know there's four groups maybe that they're the top of the rest the rest all you
- 27:48you're pretty much as long as you win one game you you can go through in some capacity your
- 27:53roots of the final and who you play will change I wonder whether that that new mentality though
- 27:59that it's not the end of the world with regard to progression if you lose the first game will
- 28:04affect teams will make them think definitely will Thomas Duke will be like it doesn't matter if
- 28:10we lose we've got plenty games to get back so let's go out and do everything we can let's treat
- 28:15this like a game we have to win and go out there and actually don't be scared to lose and get in
- 28:20the faces go out and win because if we win that's us pretty much guaranteed to finish top of the
- 28:25group because you expected between us and Croatia so if you go out and attack this game great and
- 28:31if we lose well we'll still progress but at least we've we've actually gone on for trying to
- 28:35that's what he says he's gonna do isn't that's what he says he's gonna be so we're gonna bring
- 28:39you know the heavy metal Premier League football to the World Cup so if that's the case then we
- 28:44should be going for Croatia you know as you just said we have a better actual squad a better team
- 28:50we've got a better manager so we should we should be beating them but say they're all England
- 28:56and typical old you know the English way is oh yeah we're just you know go in there and be
- 29:02apprehensive and all back a little bit and let's just let's just get a drill and then see where it
- 29:06goes but by what by going by what two goals actually said is he's going for it so I'm going to
- 29:12bring him Premier League football to the World Cup so don't tell me show me yeah true I think
- 29:20we'll do I think we'll beat them yeah I've been watching England's friendly really refreshing
- 29:26like we did go for it like it was I haven't seen teams go out wide outside outside the full
- 29:34box as much as what we what we were doing for for for quite a while a lot of wingers are you know
- 29:40cut in and come inside and congest that space I really enjoyed watching England yesterday so I've
- 29:44actually got a bit of excitement I'm more excited than I thought it was going to be at this point
- 29:47it was it was only Costa Rica and I'm sure I'm going to wait my that one however yeah I've
- 29:54literally just talked myself round into a two two one win now just talk yourself round we're
- 29:59going to win two one no I'm going even more positive three one we're going to win three one
- 30:05yeah let's move on before it becomes six one three one yeah is there any of any other
- 30:12fixtures that have tickled you fancy for the for the first round the group games we've seen
- 30:16that have you seen the list I've seen the majority of them yet I'd like to point out I'm doing
- 30:24commentary on on Iran versus New Zealand at two o'clock in the morning if anyone's interested
- 30:28in staying up for that one yeah that's not if that's not top of everyone's wish list I'm telling you
- 30:36you've you've got it all wrong Iran on US soil against New Zealand we want to not so what's not
- 30:43to like about that want to stay up to two well till four in the morning listed to me
- 30:48me you want to do that oh sounds the life fantastic now you've been watching all the big
- 30:56teams I mean the big you know the first game of the World Cup for us is tonight we've already
- 31:02wished ourselves happy World Cup day which you obviously left on me were you watching it are you
- 31:08watching it you must be the opening ceremony he's on at about six o'clock after six something like
- 31:12that so we choose you want to see you want to see open ceremony for the Olympic Games maybe and if
- 31:18yeah and I don't need much or like as it goes on for so long so I don't know if I've been watching
- 31:23the opening ceremony for the World Cup now but I'll be I'll be watching I'll be politely watching
- 31:27a sentence but paying attention to the first game you're not be allowed to watch that long you're
- 31:33not be allowed to watch the opening ceremony I depends what she said literally allows you know
- 31:36me and you know it goes me it's no point in denying it yeah I've got a few to give you the next
- 31:42couple weeks I'll probably have each then there's a coordination street I'll put them all together
- 31:45for you know never mind I'm really glad to I wasn't the telly see not wasting it on the opening ceremony
- 31:50there you go Sean there you go all these are on game I'm clashed with Curry so you can always
- 31:55watch that one yeah or it makes sure you record me me voice you know yeah I'll do that me listen
- 32:02to it and I'm watching it I'm watching it when we dad in his house really I'm watching it when we
- 32:11dad in his house looking forward to it my kids the lads are going to come with me your boys
- 32:18let me put them right pop round so yeah he's kicking off the first game tonight
- 32:23mexican or South Africa South Africa okay then off the second eight o'clock kick off from
- 32:30us and then it's South could as well the next game is I think it's about two o'clock in the
- 32:35morning South Korea versus Czech Republic I think yeah one of the Americans on uh the actual
- 32:43poster well there's the three hosts aren't they there's three hosts there's the Mexican there's
- 32:47American and Canada so the Mexican Mexico got the honor of of hosting the opera hosting the opening
- 32:53game America on Saturday at U.S. 2 a.m. games Paraguay yeah they're in there they're in the first three
- 33:02groups uh the hosts eight or it's only in the first four groups might be eight being and D
- 33:09or something like that there is the where's the final schedule to be uh New York New York
- 33:14MetLife Stadium oh wow home of the New York Jets go Jets
- 33:22wow New York for the final oh my word and it's going to be your boys can't your boys Canada uh got Bosnia
- 33:31on Saturday what time is that one eight o'clock oh I'll be definitely shooting at eight o'clock
- 33:38exactly night what else would I be doing shooting in for that one I think the most exciting fixes of
- 33:44this round of group stage games you got I think Brazil Morocco is one to watch I think Morocco quite
- 33:50exciting okay and then obviously Brazil a decent and you got Senegal France as well we have to go
- 33:57on yeah Senegal Senegal drew their warm up uh yesterday it was it with Paraguay Senegal had a
- 34:08warm up anyway I can't remember quite it was against and and drew it and I expected them to
- 34:13to do better there so I'm like early optimism about Senegal as it's sort of lowered after that
- 34:19because they did seem to have a decent team out uh Canada I'm gonna I'm gonna throw the U.S. in as
- 34:24well as it as the dark horses haven't seen the team the results how they're going to play really
- 34:31yeah I always think it's good when host nations do well it makes the tournament seem better everyone's
- 34:37still excited about it till till the end so yeah but it just kind of pains me they just don't take
- 34:44football seriously yeah I just don't feel like they take it seriously enough they just and then when
- 34:50they get battered they go it's not our proper sports and you know they've always got an excuse
- 34:54but well you're holding it you're hosting it makes it stop winging have you ever been to a U.S. game
- 35:00either of you a game of actual football like an act like a U.S. team absolutely not
- 35:06U.S.A he was trying nothing to be ago and it is the mother's experience ever well I was sitting
- 35:12there it was in Austin uh Texas and the fans are be like we believe that we will win we believe
- 35:18that we will win it is a honest thing it's crazy and you see the comparisons the people have done
- 35:26of American singing songs towards the team and Brits or the you know even from all of UK really
- 35:33singing towards their team and the abusive nature that the United Kingdom teams
- 35:40sing a dirty I couldn't even repeat it yeah definitely that's that's that's I keep that off here yeah
- 35:47oh my lord you believe that we will win we believe it's nice imagine singing that at Millwell
- 35:55we believe that we will win we believe that we will win okay yeah get out of that good look
- 36:01with that guys have a good day fantastic wow one question I was going to ask you as I was looking
- 36:10through all the fixes do you do you think there's too many teams in this world cup because some
- 36:15of the fixes that some of the some of the big teams have got you know I think Portugal facing
- 36:20the archunga and not to be disrespectful to countries like great great great the air you know
- 36:26Argentina Algeria Spain vs Cape over I can't even pronounce I have these Cape over Verde if that's
- 36:33Cape Verde who's there who's correct is it Kurt account who's Kurt account got Germany
- 36:40there that's what I'm watching out for come on Kurt account but you know you've got like a lot of
- 36:46the arguments they're not exciting fixtures are they no but the balance you're right and when
- 36:53we get to the World Cup we want to see lots of exciting football we want to see the big games we want
- 36:59to see the best of the best playing against each other certainly the higher actual ones of international
- 37:04football and I am in agreement with that to us to in a lot of ways but then you you you take away
- 37:13the actual football because you know we are now going to be subjected to a lot of not
- 37:18meaningless games but not a lot of games that aren't going to be competitive and if you if you
- 37:25take away the actual football part of it which is tough when you talk about a World Cup but
- 37:30there is more to it than that and you think about the fans and you think 48 teams has allowed
- 37:35a lot of nations that have never been to the World Cup before to go and experience it I'm not saying
- 37:41I'd want a 48 team competition every time but you know these with the teams we've just we've just
- 37:48heard you just mentioned are all in the World Cup you've got that they would never have had
- 37:53chance this is the first time of them experiencing it there's a number of teams Scotland it's 30 years
- 37:5930 years since Scotland had the chance to go to the World Cup now I'm not disrespecting
- 38:04Scotland and saying that they wouldn't have qualified but allowing more teams to qualify really
- 38:10gives opportunity and now the Scottish will be brilliant and then we know how much on the
- 38:15Scottish show in in these kind of environments and how much they'll enjoy it so these kind of
- 38:21fans will be a great addition to the World Cup they'll have experiences that you know English,
- 38:27Germans, Italians, Brazilians take for granted that there's going to be a World Cup we'll get to go
- 38:33these different nations these smaller nations don't get a chance so I understand it from that point
- 38:40of view and they'll obviously probably not be expected to last too long in a tournament before the
- 38:46real competitive game start but what if they did what if they were the surprise package one team
- 38:51might have that one who was it who was it last time that they got the got a long way was it like
- 38:57Shady Arabia, some of our other that they got really really far but I remember Mammadash
- 39:04really plays to the rugby even cover at Scalier plays is it is it spectacular whether it is
- 39:12good to that they got really far didn't they in in the last tournament and they were really
- 39:17good to watch everybody enjoyed it it was actually a real spectacle so yeah it's it's not necessarily
- 39:23the end of the world there'll be it will be slightly different for for the first part you just
- 39:27hope that you don't get bored watching so many games of football in in such a tight spirit period
- 39:33that was that was a brilliant application to become the new head of FIFA Leon that was absolutely
- 39:39fantastic well if if the role does become available I mean I could probably make time in my schedule
- 39:45you should tell the two AM fixtures now I'm going to tell you exactly what's going to happen these
- 39:50are going to get absolutely hard as if they meet anyone decent and it's going to be embarrassing
- 39:56okay so it should be we shouldn't have that this many teams in but now you're in the football pitch
- 40:03yeah but if we don't know you are then you know obviously not good enough I'm sorry we know football
- 40:10we all know football and I don't want to see players or places that I've never heard of and I've
- 40:17shown no representation on the football field so the last thing that would be very embarrassing
- 40:24if someone is to get an absolute high degree and it's a possibility if you come up against
- 40:29any of them these sides that we're talking about so it would be embarrassing and it would make
- 40:34a bit of a mockery of football so I just think when you when you're doing a huge song like the
- 40:40World Cup which is the greatest tournament in the world then I think it's got to be taken to
- 40:45consideration where football really is highlighted in part of the world and your if it is obviously
- 40:50it's everything here and in certain markets I think more teams should be given to
- 40:56suicide and concerns to be totally honest and less to other concerns where it's not so relevant
- 41:02where it's not so important so I mean now I have the inclusion gang out any minute and they
- 41:07lobby aren't me but I don't care that's me opinion and I'm not going to change you yeah I mean I've
- 41:13done I've done one of these these predictor app things that you go on we should do it we should
- 41:19try and see how many you can get it it's like a points thing Liam there'll be an app that we
- 41:27I'll leave I'll leave you in charge of that one then you can you can get sorted and predict
- 41:31in these results and I've got to be honest I was finding it hard not to put your fives in these
- 41:36sixes down in these in these games where you know if these the favourites as we're calling them
- 41:44are playing the minos and they're being serious about it and they're taking it serious you'd
- 41:49expect it to be pretty high score to be honest so yeah it's a it's a it's a flip of an argument
- 41:56and a toss of a coin of an argument there's two completely different sides to it and then you
- 42:01could have plays winning tournament in goal scored as often you could have plays just winning golden
- 42:05boot and it's not fair you know you're right yeah someone's talking to me about who do you think
- 42:10is going to get golden boots it's usually about four maybe five you know I'll ask up the tournament
- 42:15and I was like well that might be a bit different this year there's is an extra round there's
- 42:20all the big teams play against a team that they could get a few goals against if someone's
- 42:25goes a hat trick and one of them games I'm saying someone could get double figures this will come
- 42:31essentially but that'll be exciting I'll make it different I'll make it worth a watch just
- 42:36don't want it to make my knock it up score it down as oh that's a good one yeah I just think it
- 42:43depends on what position is to play that I think the top goal goal score will be either a Frenchman
- 42:47or an Englishman I think it'll be Kane or it'll be one of them from from for of finance
- 42:54putting my most likely in back I just think it'll be fed so much he just gets so much there
- 43:00but at Usofranc's group I was going to say france I've got a tough group so that that might be
- 43:05a different group at death I think it's Spenigal is it Norway as well oh yeah but I still wouldn't put
- 43:12in past French strikers scoring along with the goals the only thing is about the French I mean
- 43:19it's not a bad thing but when you've got the talent that they've got at the top of the pitch
- 43:24you expect them back pain and then barely do it you've got you've got you probably got six players
- 43:30that all think they should start so when they come on they're all trying to make a point
- 43:36and so if their individual brilliance is working they might score loads of goals but
- 43:41imagine let's just say Dembele has got three four goals in the tournament he's won the
- 43:48Champions League he's won his he's won his his league and he's now hot favourite for Ballendor
- 43:57what do you think what you're thinking back paced think about that and back paced going through
- 44:01one goal and back paced now running over shoulder badge and not going off the ball taking the ball
- 44:07itself to score himself to score two and because he will under percent one of our team
- 44:13is on teammate maybe competitively maybe actually at the detriment of France he's now saying
- 44:20I'm not passing to you for a tapping I'm going to goal myself so the one thing about the
- 44:25French team there's a few sort of there's a few things where you wonder about them mentally whether
- 44:30they are going to be a team at the top end of Dembele would be I think he will take a step back
- 44:36and try and let him back and go and go and win it but if Dembele is having a good tournament
- 44:41or two days having a good tournament so these players that are that are going to be on to win
- 44:46everything this year are playing well and Bappe is going to be thinking I can't sit and watch
- 44:50him win can't sit and watch him win Ballendor again I used to play for PSG I left they were two
- 44:56champions I mean two teammates have got Ballendor's left by sensor what's he going to be thinking
- 45:01about that I might say you think that's the reason that plays out that's obviously because
- 45:07top goals go ahead probably in Bappe I don't think I don't know whether that will mean
- 45:13France actually win though but he'll be up there he'd expect Messi to be there there about but
- 45:22I think maybe I think I'll there's my duo right for Argentina you know yeah it's not a bad shot
- 45:28and you're going to have a good side how do you think scores goals the only thing yeah
- 45:33what you're going to do is Spain's number nine because they've got really good midfields so the
- 45:39midfield is so creative to spend and for Portugal they're really good midfields as either one
- 45:44got a consistent amount because Chris down there they'll cannot be starting for Portugal it's best
- 45:50I'll challenge there's there's talk that he will or you've got a Ramos who's a PSG striker that comes
- 45:58on that they've been they've been swept back as a forwards they can play with a false down Spain
- 46:03are the same they've got they've got a few good players Torres and is it begins with all
- 46:12what they can still go with that one to play up front but they're strength of all of these teams
- 46:20are all the wingers whereas we've got an out and out number nine and to go back to who's going to
- 46:25be the top scorer it's generally someone that does as penalties as well so if you're going to
- 46:31actually have a think about you go around you think which player takes penalties for all these teams
- 46:36is he a guy that scores goals naturally as well and you go you go between them that's why my
- 46:42Julian Alvarez is sort of not a one-with-conviction because he ought to be on his she's just not
- 46:50bar 120 million for him yeah I heard that I think that's absolutely insane to them to knock that
- 46:58he scored about six goals this season it might be it might be nine but it might be a business it
- 47:05might be a business thing because yeah we're going off the well cubby but what I'm saying is that
- 47:10the Perez just got reelected on the back of I will bring this in this and I will make big
- 47:15silence I will I will make a hundred million record bid for a player don't you worry so he sort
- 47:24of come out and said that he kind of needs to follow through with that so if they say no to his
- 47:28first bid and he'll raise it because he's got to he's got to come back with a bigger bid now he can't
- 47:33have his his first thing have to re-election sort of better not play as the name Alvarez
- 47:39or there's better players out there than that Alvarez I think he's an underrated player you know
- 47:43not there was obviously better players but I definitely he's underrated so it goes under the
- 47:48radar we talked about 20 million I don't think it's that far off but I definitely a hundred
- 47:58I mean he's done nothing at city and you can't you don't get much more service than what he
- 48:03out means it doesn't get any better Kevin to put up and get him to throw in a full phone yeah it's
- 48:08hard to say he did nothing at city when Harlan's playing up for it he forced himself in a long
- 48:13side Harlan for a while he's profile is mostly profile I'm talking about physicality the way his game
- 48:20is didn't sort of compare to Harland in terms of height strength speed all of that which city
- 48:29utilised quite well but he's a he's a good set of forward it wouldn't that profile I'm saying
- 48:36wasn't necessarily one that could go up against two centre-offs in the Premier League physical
- 48:40and all that but it crossed your and then the world cup getting into the spaces and it's more
- 48:45technical he's outstanding no doubt about it I just think he hasn't let Spain up since he's
- 48:50gone there us you know I expect you know you're looking down thing in 30 goals season 25 30 goals
- 48:56season if you're like it's been he's starting every week for let's go so you expect it and then
- 49:02he just hasn't done it I had just haven't seen it but I don't know we'll see yeah
- 49:07to show them how it's only it'll be it'll be top goal scoring are you sure that
- 49:12I tell you who might it who might have a good tournament why am I at least say I like watching
- 49:19you know we're looking these tournaments I like watching which young players sort of emerge out of
- 49:24nowhere now I know I've just mentioned the Lisa who's we all know about and obviously you've got
- 49:30even you know you've got Jal Gomez PSG set him in field won the championship championship
- 49:36but he's still only 21 so I'm not I'm not actually although I think at least they might have a good
- 49:40tournament I'm not necessarily talking about them but I like to see the the the other ones that
- 49:45you know come good that come out I know where that sort of people know about people have seen
- 49:53them a little bit but suddenly in the in the world cup they just blow up they just become
- 49:58these superstars over and I ends up and Anders did didn't he last tournament and got his
- 50:02move to Chelsea didn't quite follow to do although he's a good player but I wonder now he's
- 50:07to move to ramage it yeah I was wonder who the next one's going to be yeah now that'll be
- 50:14interesting to be fair we should have got a little bit of our money there to round up to these
- 50:18conversation obviously outside of the world cup ever and it looked like the cup being a little
- 50:24bit of trouble what are our thoughts over barely at the moment as it stands winning that appeal
- 50:29as a lawsuit against Evan and for a prox 40 million thing it's been reported
- 50:36madness oh it's only govendous how how you you're suing Evan it's su the premier league meet
- 50:46because it's on the Premier League it's not on Evan but you know it's absolutely ridiculous
- 50:52so Evan have appealed it I just don't get it I don't even understand how
- 50:57but obviously I don't understand the cause of law but I don't understand much to be honest and
- 51:01the last people are punctually people in the face and you're asking me to score it and judge it
- 51:04and who's going to win I don't understand much at all so I just think it's absurd then it's a joke
- 51:11and I can't believe that I caught with the rule that Evan I've got paid 35 million I mean if
- 51:18they said the Premier League were a paid 35 million I'd say okay well that can't make sense but
- 51:22did the Premier League have ruled upon us how can a separate government body and entity
- 51:28rule that we should put out and what we should pay pathetic there you go yeah it's it's a mad one
- 51:35in terms of apparently we should have had four points or we can four point deduction that
- 51:42I'm barely got we beat we were above barely by four points but the goal difference
- 51:48would have meant they stayed up so their argument was it cost them money I'm just not having that and
- 51:54and ultimately you know I get to all these points of you know we've we've been punished for
- 52:00we've had the points deductions we've been punished multiple times just to see yeah and now
- 52:08you talk and find and surely as well you know is that is that on is that on us at this point
- 52:14when we've done that because we'd trace it all the way but yes we fell far off PSR but I think
- 52:21it was very public in that the majority of that was from the stadium rebuild and we we thought
- 52:27we'd done the taxes in a certain way that was right we messed up but all the money that we were
- 52:32using was for the stadium to actually get this new new stadium done it wasn't to invest in several
- 52:39players we didn't go out there and buy you know six players with this money and actually we've
- 52:46been we've all the spent we've done it all along and actually these six players played the majority
- 52:51of the season actually we've had a real advantage from that that's not actually what happened
- 52:55we were trying to oh this is why I'm led to believe anyway you get we're getting this stadium done
- 53:01where is the the the on pitch benefit from that where is the you know the what is it the the
- 53:09the play sort of advantage from that that we're getting over over the teams it's just it's just
- 53:16it shocked me I've got this when it came out ever and I've I've said in a piece something and then
- 53:21they've said they won't say anymore it's going to go to appeal I'm expecting that appeal to get
- 53:29over 10 but it's ever since isn't it and then even from in from the start did they say that it was
- 53:37it should have been about 50 million pounds in terms of loss of some so they halved it to 25 million
- 53:44pounds and then in that four-year period there's been 14 million pounds of of interest and I'm
- 53:51thinking 14 million pounds like out of 26 26 to 14 that much interest in four years
- 53:58like what bank are they in I'm there you know I'm thinking if you put your money in there
- 54:08with that interest as a crew and in in that way I'm thinking that seems that seems a lot and
- 54:13we're also getting interest on a payment that we didn't actually know yet do you know what I mean
- 54:18that that always binds me up with regards to the tax but don't get me started on the tax
- 54:22man oh that's not going to go there come on that's not going to go there you know just still
- 54:27attacking me that's not all the time biggest boys in the world when I fall on file of that it's
- 54:37just one more thing isn't it just when we think we've moved on just then we think we're now in
- 54:44a position where we've got all that behind us with most stadiums the bet's done but I know great
- 54:49positions we've fought now we find this and we always seem to be the guinea pig as well don't
- 54:54wait you ever seem to be the don't worry don't worry boys they'll just eat up to 10 points again
- 54:58you know it's not big deal do you think if it if it does go through and you know like say we pay
- 55:0435 to 40 million did you think that it's going to have a big effect on ever and for a season or two
- 55:10and same to spend the money of course master hmm what what we'll say is there is
- 55:21not zero chance but in the way that I'd be amazed if there was a one-off payments despite
- 55:27all of this that'd be amazed if they forced it to do it you know it it could be eight you know
- 55:32eight five million pound payments I'm going let me just do my fingers there eight five million
- 55:42pound payments or I mean I've never had one that's 16 to an half million pound payments and just
- 55:46make it that kind of thing so I would be surprised if it if it was done in that way I can't see a
- 55:55hole I don't know they're lovely they're lovely they'll have a legal teammate that'll pick holes
- 55:59in that and punch it at all over the place and if you're looking at a set I probably a settlement
- 56:06figure could be agreed somewhere down the line you would expect it'll be looked at some
- 56:11both parties but the freedoms and the power that they have and the legal expensive legal teams
- 56:18that they have this this far greater franchise that you'd deal with and then then barely make
- 56:24with those you respect you know these two ways yeah sorry if you say there's two ways of them
- 56:29attacking it one I did well you actually they've got their own probably have their own in house
- 56:36lawyers but two Hill Dickinson is a law firm that deals with with this kind of thing you think
- 56:42would be a little bit looked after in that sense or just letting them be your lawyers for an
- 56:47afternoon or two told you they'll sort it yeah mine are undefeated to be fair I have been I
- 56:55have been I am victorious and then and then kind of chambers so I am undefeated and then chambers so
- 57:02you know that is what it is does it set a dangerous impression for the for the Premier League
- 57:09they were not you know you got Mancissi with a lot of charges against them could there be clubs
- 57:15who question that and say well that's in the dark chances of a value of this club where there's
- 57:21the legal for this well it does I mean first of all you talking relegated is every team that
- 57:26that you know comes up against some sort of incident and I know I'm talking the most ridiculous
- 57:32case here but only team that gets relegated and they're now looking for something that went
- 57:36against them in the season that could be considered something worth two and four right to the opposite
- 57:41end of the scale where you know every every position in the Premier League gives you a certain amount
- 57:47of money doesn't it there's that is you know the the champions get what they do that does get what
- 57:52they want if you know Chelsea would fell foul of of something not long back and we're actually
- 57:59punished in monetary terms but the advantages that they got would now team be looking at saying well
- 58:05actually they got X amount more money than us from that from the final league position let's
- 58:11consider you know getting our lawyers involved and you know Manchester City are up against
- 58:17illegal battle at the moment still not come out you know the what's happened with these 115
- 58:24charges and if they go against them a team's now saying well actually they've got the champions
- 58:31pop for you know six times under pep and a few times before that and you know so many times
- 58:37before that where does where does that live with regards to the rest of the three there's still the
- 58:42league say well actually they've had a lot of money than us from things that if it was to come out
- 58:49that were illegal where does that start where does it stop where does where does this merry go around
- 58:54now sort of lead you to it's not it's open and it's open and pandora's box in that
- 59:01terms that that teams can now look into suing monetary wise separate from the punishment that the
- 59:09premier league can't and it does it's yeah it would be worrying there'd be worrying times but
- 59:16let's let's not worry they're just going to do duck dev at 10 points that's just
- 59:22the duck dev at 10 points no matter what happens they just say that's what we've done before we do
- 59:25again that's just the duck dev at 10 points only the scouts is what do you worry I'm hoping the
- 59:31way you just said does he like works in our favor though that these sorts of look at this as a
- 59:36bigger picture and go this can't happen otherwise you know it's gonna it's gonna be a nightmare
- 59:41yeah I mean because you know rules rules that have to be in place for a reason but the punishment's
- 59:50kind of have to be known and yeah it's hard to say that I mean who's to say there are as
- 1:00:01the way we see it the evidence financial breach was over the stadium and improving the stadium
- 1:00:08the onfield improvement yet other teams may have done onfield improvement to gain the advantage
- 1:00:15and we're getting done in this way where does that where does that open the door to and then you
- 1:00:21look at you know what's Southampton have just done and been punished for and that was over a
- 1:00:28rule that came in after be else to try to do it a few a while back and now that went to court
- 1:00:34a law quickly and they were punished in the way that mean football starts to step into the court
- 1:00:39a law isn't it and I'll say the Southampton case was wrong but all right actually but can anyone
- 1:00:44just say what's going on with the 115 charts to city like why are we talking about 11 again
- 1:00:49115 charges of five league titles a champion league every cup in the world and they've got
- 1:00:56150 and everyone just no one saying nothing but you know what I've just told you let's do
- 1:01:0210 points again or you know what that's just charge them 50 million quit 30 million what
- 1:01:06ever let's just let's just get an heaven 115 charges these have had I'm way talking about
- 1:01:11heaven I've got to spare 30 odd million quit what's going on I mean how many times scouts have
- 1:01:17been attacked just this just that's just that's just very old scouts I mean but not not into the
- 1:01:21cupites and when we just throw it all over everything it's absolutely disgusting it's the
- 1:01:27just infuriate me above enough
