- 2:25the storm. Please welcome visionary author Dane and a hill Ah. Good evening

- 2:38blessed. I can't complain. Getting ready for my book signing tomorrow. Oh
- 2:44wow, I know you're excited about that. Congratulations. Yes, Diane,
- 2:50A question for you. You know again, I thank you for being here
- 2:53and support into Crew Network and being Thank you for having me. Thank you
- 2:58so much for having me When people here a storm is brewing, they usually
- 3:02prepare for it. When people here a storm is brewing, they stay in
- 3:06one location instead of evacuating. How did you prepare for your novel The Other
- 3:09Side of the Storm. So, how I prepared for it is I was
- 3:17working on something else and God told me that I had to put something together
- 3:24for women. And I was literally in the storm at the particular moment.
- 3:30I was in two storms. I was in a health storm and I was
- 3:36in another storm. Not gonna say too much, but during that storm,
- 3:40I always had got to lean on every which way. Wow, I really
- 3:47don't know how, no other way to put it, But it was the
- 3:52strength of the lure that helped me through my storms of life. That I
- 3:57just that's that I want through. Amen. Amen, Amen. So I'm
- 4:02glad that you're here. I'm glad that you're you're doing well. You created
- 4:08a guide, a marriage, a life's journey, a thirty day devotional,
- 4:12The Everyday Woman, and an anthology The Other Side of the Storm. What
- 4:16is your preferred style of writing? Is a Christian? I'm am an inspirational
- 4:21writer. I realized that my passion is I have a purpose towards women.
- 4:30It's really basically towards women. That's who I resonate with. That's who I
- 4:38identify with is women. They have a purpose in their life to reach out
- 4:44to women. All right, there's nothing wrong with that, Okay, So
- 4:47that I guess that was part of you doing the book that you've done,
- 4:50The Other Side of the Storm. Do you believe your book The Other Side
- 4:54of the Storm will change people? Yes, because the stories are so compelled
- 5:00that you don't You won't have no other choice but to feel inspired in spite
- 5:06of going through ther storm. Like the stories that's compiled by these women,
- 5:12how they triumph over tragedy, how they triumphed over everything. This will give
- 5:18you courage, and this will give you encouragement on how to really make it
- 5:24to the other side of the storm room with resilience. Let me ask you,
- 5:29how do you stay strong and whether the storm. I thank God.
- 5:33I thank God. I thank God. I thank God. I also have
- 5:38I have a circle that I can depend on, and I also have my
- 5:43wonderful husband is seventeen years. He holds me down as well. But God
- 5:48is God is my source. All right. I heard that there are some
- 5:54things that you can learn in the storm. What are some of the things
- 5:57that you learned while writing the other side of the Storm? Patience, patience
- 6:02and resilience. And it wasn't easy telling my stories, my stories that I
- 6:10have because as I was writing it, I still was in a health crisis.
- 6:15But I knew that me continue on, believing on Christ, that I
- 6:21was going to make it out of that storm. Okay, and I did,
- 6:29and I see and I see him. You seem to be just as
- 6:31healthy and and happy and prosperous. Although the series was inspired and written by
- 6:39women, and what can men take away from this book? They could take
- 6:44away the same thing. Listen, It's all about trusting and the Lord,
- 6:49having faith in the Lord that you will be able to see yourself out of
- 6:54any storm to life that comes your way. It's all about having faith in
- 7:00yourself and having faith in the Lord, and also surround yourself with positive people
- 7:08that will give you positive energy that will help you egg on in life.
- 7:15We had to steal cause it takes a village. It takes a village to
- 7:19also find your purpose. You can't do it by yourself, and you can't
- 7:24get through the storm by yourself either. It's true, that is definitely true.
- 7:30You dedicated this book to your husband of more than seventeen years. He
- 7:34shared your testimony and he told you to take a chance on yourself. What
- 7:39did he mean when he said to take a chance on yourself? So it
- 7:43happened was before this was formed, right, I was on a Discovery call
- 7:48to be in somebody else's podcast and in the past, I mean I'm sorving
- 7:55and somebody else's anthology and I have been in several anthologies, including Angelists.
- 8:05And it was a zoom call and I had it on speaker cause it was
- 8:09on a Sunday and I was cooking, so I listened to the Discovery calling
- 8:16everything. Immediately after I hung up, when I went in my bedroom,
- 8:20my husband set up and he said, I need you to take a chance
- 8:26doing you. He said, you've been in everybody else's anthologies. Why don't
- 8:31you create your own anthology? And from that moment, I said, wow,
- 8:37I didn't even I wasn't either thinking about that because I loved being in
- 8:41other people's anthology. I never visioned that I would be creating my own anthology.
- 8:48And it was birth from there. Well, for those who don't know,
- 8:52she mentioned that she was an angelis anthology. Angela is the producer for
- 8:56the Crew Network. I've been in traving and I've been and several of her
- 9:01anthologies, at least three of'em okay, And they always say that there's
- 9:05always a good woman behind a man, but in this case, it seems
- 9:09like there was a visit. There is a good man behind this woman to
- 9:13give you that. Can you tell us something, well, rather, what
- 9:16does taking a chance on yourself look like for you? Now? Your husband
- 9:20told you to take a chance, but what does that look like for you?
- 9:24Right now? We're in a space that I am this anthology right here
- 9:28from this book right here. I took my chance. I leaked, and
- 9:33I literally took a chance on me. And it's seven other women that's survived
- 9:39in this and it was amazing. I laughed, I cried. I realized
- 9:46how putting a anthology together some of the situations that came through, but I
- 9:54still made it on the other side of the storm, even creating this.
- 10:00How long did it take from the time that your husband told you or suggested
- 10:03that you do your own anthology until you got everybody together? And you know,
- 10:07what was it like finding the people to participate in the anthology? Well,
- 10:13basically cause I didn't know how many people. But the people that I
- 10:18did ask and I talked about it, they all say yes without no hesitation,
- 10:24that it started in March of last year. But then in the midst
- 10:31of me trying to get everything together, I had a health I had a
- 10:37health crisis, so I had to put it down, and then it started
- 10:41back up sometimes the last quarter of the year, forgot what month, And
- 10:46then it was finally published in a July. What was it like for you
- 10:50when you when you saw it that it was published and it was your anthology?
- 10:54Oh my god. I just couldn't believe it. I just was like,
- 10:58why this really? I really Birthda? I really Birthda. And I
- 11:03could only give God the glory because it was Him that brought me through everything
- 11:09that I went through. I really birth this baby. This is my baby
- 11:13right here. I don't care what other stuff that I'm involved with, but
- 11:18this is my baby. This is God promised me this, He promised you
- 11:22do this. I'm I'm gonna bless you with this book. I'm gonna bless
- 11:28this book and whatever else that comes for afterwards. The cover of the book
- 11:33is amazing. I love the colors. I loved the title. Let's start
- 11:37with the title. What made you choose that title? Actually, my husband
- 11:43gave me that title. My bishop was doing a series on the other side
- 11:54of our quit, so I was writing everything I was in, but I
- 12:00was still in the storm. And one day we was driving from church and
- 12:05he just dropped it and he said, I caught it the other side of
- 12:09the storm. I said, oh my god, it makes sense because I
- 12:13literally am on the other side of the storm. Wow. Wow, that
- 12:20is so nice. The color, the cover, everything, it just pops.
- 12:26Can you show us a copy of the book? Now I see it,
- 12:30but I want everybody else to see it. This is amazing. Look
- 12:33at the colors in there. It's you can walk any place in a in
- 12:37a bookstore. You can see sitting on somebody's table and it just pops.
- 12:43You know, I'm looking at the clouds and I'm looking at just egge in
- 12:48the storm. I was praising God in the storm. Wow, hay for
- 12:54trees. Hey, Latiania, thank you so much for joining us work always
- 13:00about this book that we won't see in a blurb on any other playoffs.
- 13:03What could you tell us about this book? This book is it just will
- 13:09bless you. It just will bless you. It's so many stories that's so
- 13:16that will resonate in in your thought process on how to really make it outside
- 13:24the storm, like you just have to get the book. I can't the
- 13:26words can't even describe on the faith that every last one of my co authors
- 13:33had right in their stories while they was in the storm and how they came
- 13:39out the store the storm. Patricia says, I am a covered person and
- 13:45that joys me in well, this book is gonna do more than enjoy you
- 13:48in that it's just the colors for me. You know. I hear people
- 13:50saying it's this for me, it's that for me, this book, it's
- 13:54the cover for me. And that's what had me say, I need to
- 13:58know more. I need to know more about this book. What is a
- 14:01significant way your book has changed you since you've been published? It changed my
- 14:09thought processor to a higher level. I always know that I had a had
- 14:16a service, a product, and an event, and this is the service.
- 14:22I mean, this is the product of the situation. Now you mentioned
- 14:28your pastor what are they thinking about this book? And he loved it,
- 14:31My pastored Bishop Steven Walker, he loved it. Did they pray. Did
- 14:37they do something like a pretty well, once you bought it in and presented
- 14:43it to them that it was published and here it goes, you know,
- 14:46did they do something you know regarding that like some people baptize a book,
- 14:50you know, once a person has he prayed over it and he signed.
- 14:54He was the first person that bought my book. Actually, oh wow,
- 15:00wow, it's it's magical. It's on the first day, when we didn't
- 15:09even hand no copies. My book became a best seller on Amazon in four
- 15:15different categories. The first day it was number three in on Amazon of new
- 15:22artists, of new authors, number three. Well, I know you wasn't
- 15:28surprised. I really was a surprise. I literally when I told my co
- 15:33authors, I just started crying because it's funny how neither one of my other
- 15:39books that I wrote became a best seller, but this right here became a
- 15:45best seller, a best seller, and God strategically showed this to me.
- 15:50He it had to be this way three times to charm. Well, you
- 15:56said that he the one that you with your husband, told you to write
- 16:00this book. And the title itself the other side of the storm. So
- 16:04hey, you're storming all the way through. I'm sitting here talk and the
- 16:10funny thing is right, last year I wrote a book called I Mean last
- 16:15year, my devotional came out. And when it came out, I didn't
- 16:22even really get a chance to market it like that. I sold my first
- 16:26batch and then I had just purchased some more books to start selling, and
- 16:30the Holy Spirit told me to put that book down. Don't do no,
- 16:34don't do no marketing, don't do nothing, don't even try to go on
- 16:37the bookstore, libraries or none of that. Put that book down, and
- 16:41I want you to focus on the book for the women me being obedient into
- 16:47the Holy Spirit. Now here, I am wow. Patricia says she's loving
- 16:52the title also. She also again she loves the cover, but she loves
- 16:56the title as well. She's also my podcast sisters and she reviews books,
- 17:02so you may want to skip over the there once we finish here to chat
- 17:06with her because she's one of our best reviewers. So that's something that you
- 17:10may want to do. But I just couldn't you to come on to talk
- 17:15to you about this this wonderful book again title color covers, watching you in
- 17:22action, reading about you, following you. It's just all about everything.
- 17:26It's like the whole package. He knew what he was doing when he asks
- 17:29beauty right, I don't think anybody else could have done the other side of
- 17:32the storm. You see some titles close to it, but nothing like this.
- 17:36We're getting ready to take a break right now, and when we come
- 17:38back, we're gonna continue with vision every author Diana. Hell right, all
- 18:06right, you must be having a problem with that commercial that should be coming
- 18:08through, but we can keep going and once the commercial comes up, then
- 18:14we'll just go for that break on the commercial. Okay, Okay, no
- 18:18problem. It's the whole package. Like I said, it was just the
- 18:21whole package for me. That just sold me. And I said, please
- 18:25let us say yes, Please let us say yes. You know, it's
- 18:30just amazing, you know what what he can do, what God can do
- 18:34that could through the impossible, and he has and he has. Listen.
- 18:41Faith you speak about in your book being the same as believing. Yes,
- 18:48how so me for me? You because you have to have faith. You
- 18:56have to believe in something. To have faith, you have to believe and
- 19:00in a higher power. To have faith. Faith with our works is dead,
- 19:04So you have to have faith in something. That title sound very familiar
- 19:11to me. Yeah, it does. It definitely has something here. The
- 19:17question that I have for you is how has your faith affected your relationships or
- 19:22does faith affect your relationship at all? Faith faith helps me in my relationships,
- 19:30especially in my marriage because I've been married going on eighteen years and we
- 19:37haven't been through some trials and tribulations. But it's only the Lord that brings
- 19:41us through my trials and tribulations and triumph in my marriage as well. And
- 19:48God is the center of my marriage no matter what I go through. Let
- 19:55me tell you, Angelin know a little bit about that as well. When
- 20:00I was in the storm, when she had her hundred and twenty one day
- 20:06praying five o'clock in the morning, I'm not this year, but last year
- 20:11in two thousand and twenty two, I barely missed any days I was sick
- 20:17and going through what I was going through, but I was up five o'clock
- 20:21every morning. Sometimes she would call me to pray out loud, and my
- 20:26husband was right here right along with me. And it was an amazing experience
- 20:33that I went through, and that strengthened me, and that helped me through
- 20:37writing my book as well. Wow. Well, so yeah, it does
- 20:41sound like you've definitely been through the storm. Yeah, I'm sorry, no,
- 20:48yes, yes, yes. You have several authors who wrote in this
- 20:52book. What challenges did you face if any was writing this book? I
- 20:59could just say patience. I had to be patient with every single author.
- 21:04I had to be patient with all any kind of hiccups that may have came
- 21:08my way. But God gave me the strength to go through, to navigate
- 21:14through it all because you're ready, No, when you're putting anything together,
- 21:19it's the journey. It was the journey for me. I really enjoyed the
- 21:23journey with these women. I I just learned more patience in life. I
- 21:29just learned more patience because I'm short tempered sometime. But God said, nope,
- 21:34nope, I'm gonna give you patience. Nope, I'm gonna give you
- 21:37patience. And they all had my back as several times when I thought I
- 21:45had my little meltdowns, they brought me from a twenty to a ten,
- 21:48from a ten to or five, and I made it through and here we
- 21:53are. Yeah, The Other Side of the Storm is a series of inspiring
- 21:59and unique story from women who triumphantly overcame all obstacles. What else can we
- 22:03expect in the series? You mean in the book or is there going to
- 22:08be a series of the Other Side of the Storm. Yes, there's a
- 22:14part two state tuned. So since you're planning in a part two, are
- 22:19you planning a part two to any of your other books? I'm I'm not
- 22:25sure. I'm focusing on this right now, focused on this. Can you
- 22:30share a tiny bit about your plans for this one? Okay? So I
- 22:37am actually doing a woman's conference, God's willing next fall, if not the
- 22:44end of two thousand and twenty four to beginning in two thousand and twenty five,
- 22:48and it's gonna be in a women's empowerment conference surrounding the book, and
- 22:55Part two will be out too as well. So I'm working on at like.
- 23:00I'm working on it like right now. It's in the infancy stages,
- 23:04but I'm working on that right now. So it sounds like from this book
- 23:08and you're saying that you're doing an empowerment conference women who have been through certain
- 23:12struggles, triumphs, tragedies, So that's more of who you're directing that conference
- 23:19towards. Yes, yes, ma'am, I can't wait. Please keep me
- 23:25abreast of that conference. I'm definitely interested in that conference. It sounds like
- 23:29it's gonna be something. It's gonna be right here in Philadelphia, PA.
- 23:33All right, Well, I'm not too far from you. So I get
- 23:37that was your thirty day devotional, the everyday woman and inspiration for the other
- 23:41side of the storm. I know. Actually, I didn't even have a
- 23:49clue that I was going to even be writing an anthology at that At that
- 23:56moment when I wrote that book, I had COVID. I was sick with
- 24:03COVID. So that's that's part of my storm too. I got real sick
- 24:07with COVID. And once again, I don't know what it is about me
- 24:14and a holy spirit, but we've been having a two way dialogue lately.
- 24:18And I was sitting down and I had it, had physical therapy, and
- 24:25I had at the time, I had only seventy five percent of my left
- 24:29hand functioning because of the nerve damage that happened from me having COVID too.
- 24:34God be the glory. I'm still here to talk about it. And I'm
- 24:38sitting in my chair and God said, you gotta write a devotional for women.
- 24:45Mind you, I'm left handed and I'm I'm sick in my body,
- 24:49but I was obedient into the Lord. And that was birth and that was
- 24:56published last January. And then this book right here was birth in March.
- 25:04The inception of the book was birthed in March. Oh wow, Wow,
- 25:10unbelievable. The women in the book overcame obstacles similar. I guess maybe to
- 25:15you, they all everybody came over obstacles. Did they believe their faith pulled
- 25:18them through or did they believe that this soon will pass? Because did you
- 25:22guys have a little bit of both a combination of both, a combination of
- 25:26both, just like me, a combination of both just having faith to believe
- 25:33that this moment shall pass, and that they had encouragement to see better days
- 25:41in life. Wow, and you said it was how many other authors in
- 25:45this point? It's aid of us all together? Wow? Have you have
- 25:51you? Or will you be doing a book fair or a book signing with
- 25:59all the authors together? Or is everybody tomorrow? So everybody's gonna be together
- 26:03tomorrow. Yes, we all gonna be together tomorrow. And this is the
- 26:08first time that each that you guys are gonna be together. No, actually,
- 26:12this is gonna be our second time that we all together. What was
- 26:17it like during I know every last this is our second time that everybody collectively
- 26:23is gonna be together. But I know each and every last one of them
- 26:27personally. Oh wow, that's special. It's like family. So everybody you
- 26:33would definitely melted together to be able to do this and go on this journey
- 26:37together. So as you guys were going on this journey together, it was
- 26:41like no stone unturned. It was like attention, which was just phenomenal that
- 26:51you already knew each other. It's not like you posted something out there and
- 26:53said who wants to do in the anthology? You knew them. It's almost
- 26:56like you guys were hand picked by the Lord to pull this together. And
- 27:00from what I'm seeing and what I'm hearing, you pulled it off. And
- 27:04without them, it wouldn't be no anthology. Wow. I may be the
- 27:12visionary, but they are the book as well. Wow, they are the
- 27:18book that's still resargeable. Is this the first for some of them? This
- 27:26is the first of many of them? Oh wow. I know the Laverne
- 27:32co author, Laverne Cheeseborough, she had a book coming out. She had
- 27:37a book that's already published that just was published like two weeks ago. Oh
- 27:42wow, congratulations. And we was in another anthology together back in two thousand
- 27:49and sixteen called our very first anthology together was called Wives on Fire. So
- 27:56that's how I actually became an author. I was the co author of Wives
- 28:03on Fire in two thousand and sixteen. Wow, so you got some books
- 28:08underneath your belt. Great, what are some of the messages you want to
- 28:11convey in this book to your readers. My main message is just half hope
- 28:21in your storm. Just half hope while you are in your storm, and
- 28:26just know that there's always a rainbow after the storm. And this is only
- 28:33for a season and whatever season that you are. And just know that there
- 28:37is a sun on the other side of that storm. After every storm,
- 28:41there's always the sun and there's always a rainbow. Wow. Well said.
- 28:48We'll say, okay, Diana, enough about your book. I want to
- 28:52know more about you as a certified Transformational Purpose life coach. Mother. Yes,
- 29:00listen, you have a ministry and you were nominated for I am Her
- 29:06International for Women of Influence. Let's start off with your certified transformational purpose that
- 29:11came while I was in the storm as well. So understand. Wow,
- 29:22that came about in two thousand and twenty one, and I didn't even I
