- 0:00Well, hey, everyone, you're listening to the Curt Landry podcast where we're going to help
- 0:08you discover your kingdom destiny.
- 0:11My name is Darrell and sitting right beside me is Rabbi Curt Landry himself.
- 0:15And in this episode, we're talking about dreams, the idea of how to interpret your dreams and
- 0:22how to use your dreams to accomplish goals in your life.
- 0:26But before we jump into this topic and this episode, Rabbi, were you able to relax any
- 0:32this weekend?
- 0:33How's it going?
- 0:34Well, for us, the flow is the grandkids are all praying that it snows because they are
- 0:40wanting to be able to sled.
- 0:42And it looks like their prayers are getting answered because it looks like we're coming
- 0:46into a pretty cold, snowy, icy Oklahoma time.
- 0:51We're doing great.
- 0:52This is a great season of time.
- 0:55This is a fun season of time to particularly with our youngest, with Matthew, he's a year
- 1:00and a half and he's the third child.
- 1:04So one of the things with the third child is you have a tendency not to be so on top
- 1:11of the child as you were the first and the second.
- 1:14And the other thing is he immediately has all this modeling that he can follow from
- 1:20the four year old and the eight year old and the way Matthew is wired is he's a year and
- 1:27a half and he thinks he's probably about maybe eight or nine.
- 1:32And he thinks he's fearless and he's different than the other two.
- 1:37Like the other two, you could tell them don't go in the swimming pool and they would obey.
- 1:45They wouldn't go in.
- 1:46They'd wait for an adult.
- 1:48Matthew is like, oh, there's the pool.
- 1:51I can swim and he can't, but he says, I'm going in.
- 1:54He just, he's one of these ones that just goes in.
- 1:56If you leave a ladder up, Paul was working on some stuff in the closet with the wifi.
- 2:03He left the ladder up, went into the kitchen for a little while, came back out and into
- 2:08the closet and there's Matthew at the top of the ladder because he just climbs up.
- 2:15And so that's kind of where we're at.
- 2:18We're at that interesting stage where it takes all hands on deck to watch him so he doesn't
- 2:23end up hurting himself.
- 2:24Yeah.
- 2:25So the snow is, you know, like, has that ever been your thing being from California?
- 2:29I mean, like, did you, when you had lived in a place that had snows, was that something
- 2:35you miss Christy enjoyed or what?
- 2:37Well, I wouldn't have met Christy if it wasn't for the snow because I actually, no, I'm serious
- 2:43because I love to snow ski.
- 2:45I love to snow ski.
- 2:47Okay.
- 2:48I'm a snow skier.
- 2:49I was raised in Los Angeles, Southern California.
- 2:51And when you're in Southern California, you go to Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead and, or you
- 2:55go to Mammoth and you ski.
- 2:58And, but after I graduated high school, I didn't know what I wanted to do.
- 3:04So I said, I'm just going to go up to Lake Tahoe and I got a job at Harris Casino, which
- 3:11was a great job, a valet.
- 3:12I was a valet at Harris Casino.
- 3:15Really had clientele like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Don Rickles, Lawrence Welk.
- 3:20I mean, the list goes on.
- 3:22And, but I worked from eight o'clock at night to six in the morning.
- 3:28And the reason I had that shift is so I could ski.
- 3:30So I was there skiing to Heavenly Valley and Squaw Valley and the different mountains.
- 3:34So I loved to ski.
- 3:36And, but then when the spring came, one of the spring, I was driving one of the park
- 3:41and ride vehicles for the casino.
- 3:45And as I was driving through the parking lot, I saw the, this girl walking through the parking
- 3:51lot with long strawberry blonde hair all the way down to her backside.
- 3:58And she had a pair of cutoff jeans and like this white blouse.
- 4:02Yeah.
- 4:03And that caught your attention.
- 4:05It, yes.
- 4:06Yes.
- 4:07It caught my attention.
- 4:08If anybody has seen my wife, you'll know she's beautiful.
- 4:13But anyway, I literally pulled up and started talking to her and she totally rejected me.
- 4:21It was awful.
- 4:22Anyway, my approach wasn't very good either.
- 4:26Now we all laugh about it, but I actually, I actually asked her out.
- 4:32We don't know, somewhere between 12 and 15 times.
- 4:35And she said no.
- 4:37But anyway, so you asked me about the snow.
- 4:38That's how we met Lake Tahoe.
- 4:40But it was so interesting.
- 4:41You want me to go on with this story?
- 4:43Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:44No, this is good.
- 4:45Okay.
- 4:46Well anyway, so, so anyway, I, I, I did, I, I had it, I was licensed to drive what they
- 4:52call H cars, all of Bill Harris cars.
- 4:55We would move the cars around.
- 4:57And so I moved vehicles around kind of like, okay, this executives here and there.
- 5:04And I also drove, there was a van that took people from the very back to the, to the casino.
- 5:12But when I was doing my valet, my toughest client I had was BB King.
- 5:19And my, my instruction with, from the, from the manager with BB King was when he gets
- 5:25done his show, try to get him, you know, get him fed, get dinner, and then get him back
- 5:30to his room because he, he liked to stay out all night.
- 5:36That's just, can I just say that way?
- 5:38All right.
- 5:39I'm just being careful.
- 5:40My job was trying to listen, and I wasn't very successful at it.
- 5:44He did whatever the heck he wanted.
- 5:45I listened to me, but I had to be there for him to take him wherever he wanted to go.
- 5:49If he wanted to go to another club, whatever it was, my job was that.
- 5:53So anyway, this night, my job was just to be with him to the end of the show.
- 6:00And then I was over and another guy took over.
- 6:04So on this, let's say 14th, 15th, 16th time, I asked Christy out, she worked days there.
- 6:09I called her at home and it's like two in the morning, you know, but it's that lifestyle.
- 6:16But she worked days.
- 6:18She picked up the phone and I said, listen, would you like to go with me tonight?
- 6:25We got BB King.
- 6:26I knew that, you know, everyone liked BB King.
- 6:28I mean, his music is, you know, was excellent.
- 6:30And he was not in one of the big showrooms.
- 6:32He was in the small lounge.
- 6:34And so it was really cool.
- 6:35I mean, here you are, you got BB King and there's maybe 50 seats and you know, and so
- 6:41anyway, so I asked her, I said, listen, I've got to stay here.
- 6:43I'm working with Mr. King.
- 6:44Would you, would you like to come?
- 6:46And she said, yes.
- 6:48So literally that last show was like at like 2 33 in the morning and she got all dressed
- 6:55up.
- 6:56She came in and, and, and, and she'll explain it this way.
- 7:00She said that the Lord told her, she feels like we, she wasn't saved, but she feels like
- 7:04now it was the Lord.
- 7:05He says, if you tell him, no, this time he won't ask again.
- 7:11And I want you to, to meet him speaking to me.
- 7:14So anyway, she, she came in, we went out and obviously had the show not saved.
- 7:21So I'll just say this, but we have been together after that first date.
- 7:26We have been together ever since.
- 7:30So and the reason I say that is because we live together and I'm not saying, Oh, look
- 7:34at the lab rabbi.
- 7:35I live together.
- 7:36Yeah, but we were sinners and heathens.
- 7:37So don't be going down the patch.
- 7:39But the point is, is like, listen, if you think about it, if you look, if you just look
- 7:43at Megan, you know, I mean, obviously this was a match made in heaven.
- 7:48I mean, this is what God, God brought us together, but it was interesting that she, and the other
- 7:53thing, she had girlfriends and I had friends and they were all telling us to meet each
- 7:57other, you know, and you know, you got 2,500 employees, all these young people.
- 8:01It's like a giant college campus only with, you know, casino and a lot of alcohol and
- 8:06partying.
- 8:07And so anyway, we, but I always made it, I made a statement to all my friends.
- 8:12I said, if I ever meet anybody I care about, I have to leave here because this atmosphere,
- 8:16this place is not conducive for, you know, a good relationship.
- 8:21So anyway, we met, we got together and we left.
- 8:24That's the end of that story.
- 8:25She knew it.
- 8:26I knew it.
- 8:27But yeah, it was an interesting.
- 8:28So you, you, you asked about the snow.
- 8:29I probably went too deep into it.
- 8:31No.
- 8:32So snow equals love in the Landry household.
- 8:35I guess so.
- 8:36Yeah.
- 8:37Yeah.
- 8:38I mean, yeah, that's so good.
- 8:40Well, that kind of brings us into, you know, our main discussion, our main focus of this
- 8:48episode and this podcast of the Kurt Landry podcast.
- 8:53It's all about dreaming and it's about dreams.
- 8:56And you know, a lot of the questions primarily I want us to kind of dive into is the idea
- 9:02of really how to interpret your dreams and what does that mean for accomplishing your
- 9:08goals in life?
- 9:09But first thing we're going to throw out there, if you need your download, your free download
- 9:15for goals to grow, it's pretty simple.
- 9:17You can just go to curtlandry.com forward slash grow 2024.
- 9:23That link is going to take you exactly where you need to go.
- 9:27You can get the free download.
- 9:28Of course, we'll put the link in the show notes description.
- 9:31So Rabbi, let's jump, let's jump straight into it.
- 9:34We're talking dreams, goals.
- 9:37Let's just, how do you interpret your dreams?
- 9:39I mean, like you had a good one last night and you wake up this morning and you actually
- 9:44remember it and you feel like maybe God was speaking to you.
- 9:48Where do you start?
- 9:50Well, for me, you know, I have people like Pastor Tim and a few other people that when
- 9:56I have a dream, I usually ask the Lord, right when I wake up from it, I'll write it down.
- 10:02And then there's different symbolisms and colors and things in dreams, but the Lord
- 10:10usually use dreams to expand vision or confirm vision.
- 10:14So I want to say that expand or confirm.
- 10:18One of the things that, you know, we've been talking about goals to grow.
- 10:22One of the reasons I wanted to bring up the dreams is this, is that goals to grow, when
- 10:28I put together this program, my purpose was to be able to basically have time, task and
- 10:36activities that you could become boundaries so that you could accomplish your goals.
- 10:42Okay.
- 10:43And, but the thing is that your, your, let me just say it this way.
- 10:49Your goals to grow is the discipline path to find freedom.
- 10:53You know that if you'll do these habits and patterns, these time, task and activity, what,
- 10:59you know, you're going to get, you're going to have freedom, financial freedom and freedom
- 11:03to plan.
- 11:04Okay.
- 11:05So your goals are also your boundaries of what your culture and your mindset and your
- 11:08values are to, I will do this and I won't do that.
- 11:12So, but the, but the problem with just doing that is this passion to not become bored with
- 11:21the time, task and activities in the mundane.
- 11:24See a lot of people don't realize you have to do, let me, let me say it this way.
- 11:28You know, people know I like to cook.
- 11:30Okay.
- 11:31I, I don't necessarily like shopping.
- 11:34Okay.
- 11:35I don't like going to the grocery store.
- 11:37I mean, it's okay, but if you're going to cook, you have to go get stuff.
- 11:41And then after you get the stuff, then you come home and you have to prepare and there's
- 11:46steps to it.
- 11:47But I actually like the cooking side.
- 11:49The cooking side is very energizing to me, but your life can't just be about cooking.
- 11:56Your life has to be, you know what you have to work.
- 11:58You have to make money to go to the store, buy the stuff, drive the car, unpack the car,
- 12:03you know, get, you know, and all that stuff.
- 12:05So what happens is if you don't have what I call, I want to talk to you about dream
- 12:09goals.
- 12:10Your dream goals are the fuel and the passion that allows you to accomplish your personal
- 12:18goals.
- 12:20There has to be a dream.
- 12:23And I'm not talking about dreaming in the night.
- 12:25I'm talking about daydreaming.
- 12:27When you say, you know what?
- 12:29I want to be this.
- 12:31Listen, I want to, I want to speak a word of encouragement and correction to people.
- 12:39People need to listen to that gut, which is really the Holy Spirit, but that inner knower
- 12:47of what your desire is and that inner desire is where your spiritual gifting is.
- 12:55And if you can bring the inner desire, your spiritual gifting, and then have time, task,
- 13:01and activity goals that actually cultivate it, you're going to live a successful, happy
- 13:06life because your dreams are the fuel to your soul's emotion to enjoy your life, to accomplish
- 13:15your goals.
- 13:16All right, so let me just get clarification on this.
- 13:18Am I going too deep here?
- 13:20No, no.
- 13:21Now, I did bring us a kind of base level and you did take me to another level pretty quick.
- 13:28Sorry.
- 13:29But no, you said something that was a little different than how I pitched it, and I'm really
- 13:35glad that you brought it this way.
- 13:38What's the difference in, okay, I'm dreaming at night, right?
- 13:42I wake up.
- 13:44I'm praying, trying to figure out the dream and direction, goal setting that way.
- 13:50What's the difference in that dreams, dreaming, and then daydreaming during the day for those
- 13:57goals, those ambitions, those things that you're trying to accomplish?
- 13:59Because when you brought it up, it just hit something real quick.
- 14:03It was like, oh, well, it's a difference.
- 14:05It's different, but the same in some ways.
- 14:08Well, okay, let me break it down in the behavioral world.
- 14:10What it is, is your subconscious trying to escape into your conscience.
- 14:18That's so good.
- 14:19All right.
- 14:20It wants out.
- 14:21See, but everyone-
- 14:22Say that again.
- 14:23Your subconscious wants to invade your conscience, just like in the courts of heaven.
- 14:29Your blessings in heaven want to invade on earth as it is in heaven.
- 14:34It wants in.
- 14:38It wants in.
- 14:39And the thing is, is what I teach is how to bring it in, how to take it in from the courts,
- 14:43but also the subconscious.
- 14:44See, your subconscious, my people, like people get too holy into- listen, if you're desiring
- 14:50something like you're lusting over something unholy, I mean, that's, it's just unholy.
- 14:56I hope everyone gets that.
- 14:57But when you have a holy desire for something, when it's holy, that holy desire, every good
- 15:04and perfect gift came from above.
- 15:06But religious people kind of want to bury it.
- 15:08It's like, oh, you know, people with like an orphan or a poverty spirit.
- 15:12Oh, I don't want that bigger house.
- 15:14Oh, I don't want that second property.
- 15:16Oh, I don't, I don't, you know, it's, it's- listen, I have learned all these things.
- 15:21This is where I live.
- 15:22Everything the Lord gives me and tells me to invest in is because it's a platform.
- 15:28That's it.
- 15:29It's just a platform.
- 15:30The neighborhood I live in, most people could never get to my neighbors.
- 15:34I do because I'm one of them.
- 15:38And so I get to minister and, and be spiritually influential with some of the most influential
- 15:44people in Oklahoma because of the neighborhood I'm in.
- 15:47But the Lord put me there, but the Lord told me, he says, listen, what you carry, your
- 15:51testimony, they'll relate to it.
- 15:53Now that was like 10 years ago.
- 15:55And my gosh, I mean, I'm well respected in that neighborhood and I have influence with
- 16:01it.
- 16:02The thing is you have to realize whatever the Lord gives you is to platform you so that
- 16:07you can testify to somebody in that sphere and be able to share with them.
- 16:13So here's the key.
- 16:14Let's go back to the dream thing.
- 16:16The reason that you're having sleep dreams is because your subconscious mind is, and
- 16:22there's bad dreams and good, but what happens is the subconscious mind is getting up in
- 16:28the night and basically saying, you know what, I want to watercolor.
- 16:34And I like to watercolor.
- 16:36So it's like, okay, I'm not any good at water coloring.
- 16:40My wife encourages me, but listen, they may, you know, I have friends that are real artists.
- 16:44I'm not, but I like to do it.
- 16:45It's creative.
- 16:46It's fun.
- 16:47So what happens is your, your subconscious mind wants to get up in the middle of the
- 16:50night and go, Hey, I'm going to watercolor something.
- 16:53And it does.
- 16:54And it's like this crazy dream, but you have to, the reason you interpret the dream is
- 16:57because your subconscious mind is trying to communicate something to you saying, I want
- 17:04you to bring this into a conscious state so you can take action.
- 17:09So I can actually bring it to earth and actually have deliverables.
- 17:13Does that make sense?
- 17:14Or yeah.
- 17:15And you know, I, hopefully people that are listening and seeing some of these little
- 17:22video shorts that are going out on social media to try to help promote the show, um,
- 17:28feel like we go into a great depth of study before we jump in here.
- 17:33But the one thing I love is that we talk about, Hey, like, you know, what's a topic or two
- 17:38before we come in to actually record the podcast.
- 17:41And then I just don't get in the way and just kind of let God do his thing with you and
- 17:47just let you roll.
- 17:49Um, but it's, it's fun when I get in here because especially in a moment like that felt
- 17:56like my brain just turned to, it just, it just exploded because like, you know, I'm
- 18:01being taught, right?
- 18:03And so now my brain's gone somewhere else.
- 18:06So you know, if you can just entertain me here, I will, I'm going to, I'm going to,
- 18:11I want you to experience something.
- 18:13Okay.
- 18:14So you just broke down subconsciously what the brain does while dreaming at night.
- 18:21You've given me a good, uh, example of, Hey, or daydreaming goals.
- 18:26Okay.
- 18:27So I'm, I'm, I'm walking, right?
- 18:28I'm walking, I'm trying to run now.
- 18:30So go to a biblical perspective from the old Testament, right?
- 18:35I mean, even up, you're talking about the gospels and about dreams and you know, angels
- 18:39coming to, to, to, uh, people like that and, and giving them prophecy.
- 18:44So what would be the difference that you say that like someone can, from a practical base
- 18:50level, I'm, I'm just like, Hey, I'm listening to this podcast.
- 18:53I'm learning like Daryl is right now.
- 18:57When they hear dreams and prophecy and God speaking to them, what's the difference from
- 19:03a biblical, you know, from, from the Bible theologically to what most people would say
- 19:10the everyday person like me, I go to sleep at night, I dream, and then I wake up like,
- 19:14you know, what's the big difference in the two to three different variations of dreaming?
- 19:19Okay.
- 19:20So I'm kind of everywhere with that, but I'm okay.
- 19:23Well, let me, first of all, um, if they do the goals to grow, what they're going to find
- 19:29out is like, this is what I desire to accomplish in 2024.
- 19:34Okay.
- 19:35So now what happens is they've had to cerebral think about it.
- 19:40They've had to visually write it down kinesthetically.
- 19:43They've had to feel it and they say, this is, this is what I want to do.
- 19:47So just filling this out has started.
- 19:50So now what happens is now the dreams are going to come night dreams and daydreams to
- 19:55try to fuel what you're asking the Lord for.
- 20:00And we'll be right back.
- 20:02It's a new year and a new you.

- 21:49that Jerusalem and Israel actually belongs to the children of the God of Abraham, Isaac
- 21:56and Jacob, that this is the land of Isaac and the miracle power.
- 22:03They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and this book captures that.

- 23:17And now back to the show.
- 23:20See what happens is the scripture says, I could go so deep on this.
- 23:24Just take me level two.
- 23:26Okay, the scripture says you have not because you ask not.
- 23:30The more reason most people don't ask is the fear of rejection, like it won't happen and
- 23:34then I'm rejected and I failed.
- 23:37But that's not what Jesus says.
- 23:38Jesus says knock and knock and be consistent and knock.
- 23:42So what's the knocking?
- 23:43The knocking is basically you ask the Lord, you fill out your goals to grow, and then
- 23:48what happens is the Lord will start sending dreams to show you the path of how to best
- 23:55accomplish the goals.
- 23:57Okay, to best accomplish it.
- 24:00And so what happens is there needs to be not just do this, there are not the do's and don't
- 24:10do's in that list.
- 24:11That will make you boring and burn out.
- 24:13So there has to be where you say, okay, I need to see what it looks like.
- 24:18I need to see what it looks like when I accomplish this goal.
- 24:21And you need to write that out.
- 24:23But what happens is you need to let your mind and your subconscious mind engage in, show
- 24:28me what it's like.
- 24:30And once your subconscious and your mind start to experience, start to experience what you're
- 24:37wanting to accomplish, like let's say you're wanting to buy this new house, okay?
- 24:43Your family's growing, you need more bedrooms, you need this and you know, and now you're
- 24:47great because you only have a one car garage.
- 24:48Now you need a two car garage.
- 24:50And so what happens is you need to start daydreaming about, man, that would be really cool.
- 24:56I'm a car guy, okay?
- 24:58That would be really cool because my car is going to be in the garage and I won't have
- 25:01to scrape the ice off the windshield.
- 25:03Okay, it's going to be in the car next to my wife's car.
- 25:07And guess what?
- 25:08My kids get to have their own bedrooms.
- 25:09Hey, we've got the bigger kitchen.
- 25:12I love this pantry.
- 25:13Listen, I can go ahead and don't have to go out.
- 25:15You need to start like visualizing that daydreaming about that.
- 25:20And so then what happens is you may have a dream.
- 25:27And so I recently had a dream about a situation and I'm asking the Lord, how do I accomplish
- 25:35this?
- 25:36And so just recently the Lord said, in this dream, I had a dream of this office situation
- 25:42and it was going this way and that way.
- 25:44And what it did was it was a very vague dream that happened.
- 25:48But what happened is it was a confirmation to something that Megan and Paul and I had
- 25:52talked about.
- 25:53The dream was.
- 25:54So what's happening is in the practical, the sleep dream that I had was confirming that
- 26:01I need to spend more time researching in the natural what we had talked about.
- 26:06The dream was like, okay, take the next step.
- 26:08So you don't want to be wasting a lot of time on taking steps of your time task activity,
- 26:15chasing rabbits down rabbit holes.
- 26:17So what you want to do is what the dream and the passion.
- 26:21Here's the thing is all the hard work you do in self-discipline needs to end up at a
- 26:28finish line with a dream or a desire that's in your heart.
- 26:34Yeah.
- 26:35Okay.
- 26:37So I'm tracking, I'm tracking people listening.
- 26:43Listen, just go back a couple minutes and get the beginning of that and just hit the
- 26:49replay so then you can kind of at least for me when I'm reading, especially like my Bible,
- 26:54but in general, I have to read a paragraph once or twice, maybe three times to really
- 26:58comprehend what that is.
- 27:00I would encourage people just to go back and and listen to the last five or 10 minutes
- 27:06again just to grasp that.
- 27:08So let's say people have gone back or they're smart like my wife and they understood the
- 27:12first time that you said it.
- 27:15So next steps in creating those goals, being able to daydream, but then also in the moment
- 27:23when you wake up, what's like an actual practical thing, like something physically I can do
- 27:30that may be a strategy that you do in your own personal time that when you wake up, I
- 27:38know a lot of people struggle with that they just, man, it's like 30 seconds, they wake
- 27:43up, they're still almost in dream state a little bit and then like they forget the dream.
- 27:48Like I do that all the time.
- 27:49And so what would be a good practical way to maybe capture that dream, right?
- 27:55And then be able to talk to other people that can kind of help me interpret maybe a little
- 28:00bit.
- 28:01I mean, like what's the next steps?
- 28:02Like I'm just trying to figure out what a, you know, like what a good workflow of like
- 28:07figuring this out would be.
- 28:11Have a notepad or a journal beside your bed.
- 28:15And when you wake up, even if it's three in the morning, have the discipline while it's
- 28:19fresh, write it down.
- 28:21Just scribble it down the best you can and put down all the detail that you can do with
- 28:27it.
- 28:28Because every part of that dream is important.
- 28:31Colors are important.
- 28:32Numbers, numbers and dreams are important.
- 28:35All numbers have significance.
- 28:38So if you bring it to somebody like a Pastor Tim or myself and we're interpreting the
- 28:43dream, depending on the colors, the numbers and the atmosphere, then we know from that
- 28:50like what, so to say, the dream and the interpretation.
- 28:57But in a night dream, in the night dream, a lot of times what happens is God has been
- 29:02trying to speak to you in the daytime in a conscious state.
- 29:06And what happens is you're too busy and you're not listening.
- 29:09And so a lot of times, even like with startling dreams or dreams that will wake you up, what
- 29:14will happen is the Lord's trying to usually get you to slow down, focus and think about
- 29:20something.
- 29:21And so He'll give you something in that dream.
- 29:25Yeah, it kind of brings me back to a point that, you know, the past couple episodes,
- 29:31we've been super heavy on goals to grow and, you know, the different topics as we've kind
- 29:36of worked our way through it this year so far.
- 29:40And for me personally, and as we've recorded these episodes and, you know, I've learned
- 29:46a ton, right?
- 29:47But just from past experience, from what I know what other people struggle with is that
- 29:53the first thing I heard you say about the dreams was even if it's 2 33 a.m., you wake
- 29:58up, you have the discipline, you write it down.
- 30:01You put as much detail.
- 30:02So then it's capturing, right?
- 30:04So it would be step one is capturing.
- 30:07It's like being forward aggressive and saying I'm going to go to Kurtlandry.com forward
- 30:12slash gross 2024 and I'm going to download the guide.
- 30:15But now I'm going to be aggressive and capture those goals and put into practice.
- 30:20So what's the next thing?
- 30:23You know, I want to keep it simple.
- 30:24I want to keep it like two steps or maybe three at the most, because I want people to
- 30:28go away from this podcast right by and say, you know, I can actively in my conscious right
- 30:34now and hopefully remind myself to be active, to intentionally focus on this, you know,
- 30:42because it's a long year.
- 30:43So what's that second, maybe third thing after they capture, they write it down, you know,
- 30:49they've got the dream.
- 30:51Where do they go next?
- 30:54If you go in our goals to grow and on page 15, there's a the fourth thing is called joy
- 30:59goals.
- 31:03Goals that bring joy.
- 31:08Usually when you starting to have like stressful dreams, it's because the Lord is trying to
- 31:16get you to de-stress and to calm down and to slow down.
- 31:23And so because what's happening is just your subconscious mind is starting to go into stress.
- 31:32And so what happens is it brings anxiety attacks and stress and all the things.
- 31:36So what happens is you have to have some joy goals and joy goals usually will come and
- 31:42be revealed through dream goals.
- 31:47So what will happen is you'll have a dream and the dream might be that the dream, you
- 31:54know, is you're doing something like you dream that you're snow skiing.
- 31:57You talked about snow.
- 31:58You dream that you're going to the beach.
- 32:02You dream that maybe you're single and you dream that you're getting married.
- 32:08Or you dream and you see yourself fulfilling that dream.
- 32:11Like, you know, you've been in Bible school and you're in your and you get ready and you
- 32:16see a dream of yourself at a, at in a large setting and you're at the pulpit and you have
- 32:21that dream goal.
- 32:23Usually what happens is with dreams and joy goals is what the Lord is trying to do is
- 32:30to get you into, have you ever thought about the word recreation?
- 32:36Recreation is re-creation.
- 32:38The Lord wants you to, dreams usually come and they're like stop signs in, in your emotion
- 32:46and said, a good stop sign.
- 32:48Would you stop?
- 32:50Go sit on this park bench in the Spirit and ask me what it is I want to do to give you
- 32:56peace, to re-energize you, to give you a hope.
- 33:00You know, it's Jeremiah 29, 11.
- 33:02It says that you give you a future and a hope.
- 33:05And so Israel was, you know, going into captivity in Jeremiah 11.
- 33:09But the Lord says, you know, listen, even in the midst of difficult times in captivity,
- 33:14you can find a future and a hope.
- 33:18And that's kind of what, what dream goals can do.
- 33:21And that's what daydreaming does.
- 33:26Daydreaming, you say, what do you mean by daydreaming?
- 33:29I mean, daydreaming is when you sit down and you meditate and you just sit down for a little
- 33:34while, close your eyes and take a deep breath and say, okay, I'm, I'm doing this.
- 33:40I'm having to work two jobs.
- 33:42I'm having to work overtime, but why am I doing this?
- 33:46And what you have to do is you need to discipline yourself and you pause and you say, the reason
- 33:51I'm doing this is because, and whatever that reason is, we're moving into this new house.
- 33:58You know what?
- 33:59I'm going to get a raise.
- 34:00I'm going to get a bonus and, and I, I won't have to be taking stuff out of the basket
- 34:05and having my child say, please go put that back on the shelf.
- 34:10You know, I want to be able to have enough money that when I go, I can get what I need
- 34:14at the store and I'm not having to, to put stuff back, all that type of stuff.
- 34:19And you need to start dreaming and seeing yourself.
- 34:21You need to start, you know, listen, Christine, I went through a time when we first went into
- 34:26full-time ministry where we were completely broke and, and literally our neighbor had
- 34:32to bring produce to our house and all we ate was out of their garden that summer.
- 34:36We had no food in the house.
- 34:37We had to go to Christie's parents and borrow $200 to get dog food so we could feed our
- 34:42dog.
- 34:43And so what happens is like with me, what I do now, if I'm at the grocery store and
- 34:50someone's in front of me and I, and listen, I know the behavior because I was that person
- 34:57and I see them and they're looking at stuff and they're watching the cash register calculated
- 35:03up and they've got their money out and they're going like this and they have to go to that
- 35:09child and say, okay, put that box of cereal and take it back.
- 35:13We can't get it this time.
- 35:16Not with me sitting there.
- 35:19I will push all the groceries in and I'm saying, no, this is all going in and they look and
- 35:24they say, what?
- 35:26And I say, the Lord's blessed me and I'm going to bless you in Jesus name.
- 35:31I'm taking care of all.
- 35:32And usually I'll put a hundred dollar bill down and I say, and you keep the change.
- 35:38And so I dreamed when I didn't have it, I daydreamed about, I want to be that person
- 35:46that blesses people who has a need.
- 35:48And now I'm there.
- 35:49It's not a dream anymore.
- 35:50It happens to me pretty regularly.
- 35:54So what happens is you have to start having that imagination and let your subconscious,
- 36:01here's the key is your subconscious mind.
- 36:04I don't care who you are.
- 36:05I don't care what your background is.
- 36:07Your subconscious mind wants to make an impact for good on people because you are, human
- 36:14beings are innately good.
- 36:15They want to do something good, especially when you're born again, the spirit of God
- 36:19is love and perfect love cast out fear.
- 36:22And God wants that love coming out.
- 36:23You want to be able to do it.
- 36:25But the thing is you have to be physically able to do it and financially be able to do
- 36:28it and be in the right place.
- 36:31Start seeing yourself like, okay, I want to do more evangelism.
- 36:36Start seeing yourself doing that evangelism, start imagining it, start dreaming it.
- 36:43Have what I call creative visualization, start seeing yourself, maybe take pictures of somebody
- 36:49else doing what they want to do.
- 36:52I'm just using it as sports.
- 36:54You see, we talked about snow.
- 36:56You want to be a better snow skier, then get a picture of somebody doing snowing, skiing
- 37:01and imagine it.
- 37:03What happens is every time you trigger that, what happens is every time you trigger, let
- 37:09me show you something.
- 37:10I was going to show you this earlier.
- 37:11Okay.
- 37:12I'm not going to put it up on the screen.
- 37:13I'm going to show you.
- 37:14Okay.
- 37:15So this is my dream goal.
- 37:18Okay.
- 37:19This picture, I'm going to show it to you.
- 37:22Okay.
- 37:23All right.
- 37:24Okay.
- 37:25All right.
- 37:26I see it.
- 37:27Okay.
- 37:28Now, now what I want you to do is I want you to take yourself and put yourself in a beach
- 37:32chair looking at this.
- 37:37Now all of a sudden you start to slow down.
- 37:40Hmm.
- 37:41Absolutely.
- 37:43Now if you take a deep breath, you'll start smelling the salt air.
- 37:48If you concentrate on it long enough, you'll start seeing, hearing the waves, small little
- 37:52waves hitting the sand.
- 37:55It's all in your memory.
- 37:57So what happens is when I'm working super hard, I don't know if I can put that on the
- 38:03screen for him.
- 38:04No.
- 38:05I mean, primarily people should be listening to this podcast.
- 38:09In a couple months, I don't know why I'm saying this.
- 38:14People watching now will know where to get it then, but just, I mean, showing things,
- 38:22I don't even know what I'm trying to say.
- 38:26Try to, if I was blind, explain it to me.
- 38:30Let's just do that.
- 38:31So explain to me the image from a sensory perspective on someone that can draw an image
- 38:38in their head, right?
- 38:40Or like play a movie.
- 38:41Okay.
- 38:42So when you write a goal and you have a plan, you need to be able to visualize it being
- 38:49complete.
- 38:50Okay.
- 38:51Just like traveling.
- 38:54If you take a long trip, we just came back from going to Israel.
- 38:58By the time I check the bags at Tulsa, okay, I check my bags in Tulsa and it says, and
- 39:05they hand me my tickets and they say, your bags are checked into Tel Aviv.
- 39:11You just kind of go, but now you've got basically about a 14 to 18 hour time of time task and
- 39:19activity.
- 39:20You got to change planes.
- 39:21You got to do all this stuff.
- 39:23So where does your mind go?
- 39:25Your mind goes to, I can't wait until I'm through passport control and I'm walking out
- 39:32to the curb and there's Sam going court court.
- 39:37So what happens is I am visualizing that at the first, second 14th hour, all during that
- 39:44time I am visualizing my goal.
- 39:48My goal is to get out of the airport and to be feet on the ground in the land of Israel.
- 39:54So the key is with what we're talking about with dreams and dream goals is you can't write
- 39:59a goal without writing the final chapter that you finish well.
- 40:05You need to undergirt your mind, body, soul and spirit saying your mind and your soul
- 40:12and your spirit wants to know like, you know, how does this finish?
- 40:18You know, Bishop Paul spoke a word at House of David back in the early 2000s and the word
- 40:25he spoke is he came here and he said, came from Togo, Africa and spoke a word to House
- 40:30of David and he said, you're going to finish and you're going to finish well.
- 40:36Well that's huge because as we know in ministry and in business, a lot of people start well
- 40:41and finish poorly.
- 40:44Well one of the ways to secure that you will not finish poorly is have dreams and daydreams
- 40:53and dream goals of you finishing well.
- 40:57What does it look like when you finish well?
- 41:02What does that look like?
- 41:03You know, so for me it's like my life started with my identity in Christ.
- 41:09I want to fulfill that purpose.
- 41:12I want to live in that destiny.
- 41:14I want all that God has in the courts of heaven for me, my inheritance.
- 41:18I want every drop of anointing, provision, everything I'm to do and say out of that
- 41:25account and I want to finish well and stand before Jesus and hear, well done good and
- 41:30faithful servant, but I want to leave an inheritance to my children's children.
- 41:35I want to leave the way.
- 41:37I want to leave breadcrumbs so that my children, my grandchildren and their children will say,
- 41:45we can follow Rabbi, we can follow Saba because it worked for him, it will work for us.
- 41:52So my dream is I actually have seen myself standing in the Spirit and through a dream.
- 41:58I've seen myself standing before Jesus and I've said this at Passover's before.
- 42:04I really believe, I can't biblically say this, but the fourth cup of Passover, the
- 42:11cup of praise, I believe that we're going to be welcomed by Jesus in heaven and he's
- 42:17going to have a goblet, a kiddish cup.
- 42:19You're going to hand that kiddish cup and as we hand that kiddish cup to us, you want
- 42:24to hear, well done good and faithful servant because when you seal a wedding, a Jewish
- 42:29wedding, you do it by drinking the cup.
- 42:33And so I believe that I personally have had dreams and daydreams of that moment when I see Jesus.
- 42:41So when I'm going through times where it's very difficult and I want to quit, I'm going
- 42:47through times when I'm sick, where I'm physically sick, but I have a speaking engagement and
- 42:54this is just me.
- 42:55I have actually not canceled speaking engagements because I was sick.
- 42:59I've been at the pulpit with 103 temperature.
- 43:01Doesn't matter, it's just what I do.
- 43:03But my point is when I have to face challenges like that, where do I go?
- 43:08I look at how I finish.
- 43:11I've dreamed it, daydreamed it and dreamed it in my sleep enough that I believe it and
- 43:17I know I make a promise to you and to my family.
- 43:20I'm going to finish and I'm going to finish well.
- 43:23All right, let's wrap up this episode with a little different question, has to do with
- 43:31dreams, but let's go ahead and wrap this up.
- 43:34Again, if you want to get the most recent download of The Goals to Grow, it's just kirtlandry.com
- 43:40forward slash grow 2024.
- 43:45That's where you can get your free download, free PDF.
- 43:48Rabbi, let's end this episode on an idea of generosity and how I think a lot of people,
- 43:57most Christians, I would say, I don't know of a study or a percentage, but I'm going
- 44:03to say most probably struggle with generosity, with tithing, with just giving in general.
- 44:11I'm sitting here listening to this story about you're sitting at a grocery store and if
- 44:16you see something like that to where you can kind of jump in and do it, it started with
- 44:20a dream.
- 44:21It started with being intentional on your daydreaming that resulted into... It was
- 44:28basically the full circle of dreaming.
- 44:32If someone wants to get better and tap into that spiritual power and receive the blessings
- 44:41of what being generous is and being able to fully buy into the tithe and just not miss
- 44:49and just be super intentional, where does dreams come into that if they want to use
- 44:56this goal to work on within the realm and the topic of dreams to just get better in
- 45:02consistency of giving and being generous?
- 45:12Honor... When you give, like when I go to a grocery store and I'm doing this, we live
- 45:19in a very rural area and around us is there's a lot of poverty.
- 45:24We have the dollar general and the family dollar and the different places that I shop.
- 45:31Most of the time when I'm there, socioeconomically, I'm at a much higher level, a different level
- 45:35than the people that are in that store.
- 45:41Here's the key is when you're giving in tithes and you're giving in offering, you need to
- 45:54experience in your soul, your mind, will and emotion, not the pain of sacrificial like,
- 46:02ooh, this hurts.
- 46:03I'm writing this big check.
- 46:04I'm giving.
- 46:07What you have to do is you have to understand that it's a seed.
- 46:14If you'll keep it in your heart and be a cheerful giver, the Lord will give back.
- 46:19It says 30, 60 and 100 full return.
- 46:23So what happens is you have to start having the... You have to crawl, walk, run and start
- 46:29having the experience of giving.
- 46:32Can you use, say daydreaming if you were to... You're sitting at the house and you say,
- 46:40I'm going to meditate for 30 minutes.
- 46:42I'm just going to sit here and just think and daydream.
- 46:46Can you use the technique of daydreaming, of basically visualizing yourself, getting
- 46:52to that level of, I don't want to say wealth, but the ability to the position to be as generous
- 46:59as you want.
- 47:00Is that a technique that people could use to do that?
- 47:03Yeah.
- 47:04You just have to not despise the time of small beginnings.
- 47:07Listen, I would encourage people to answer your question.
- 47:10First of all, tithing, giving 10%, it's a command.
- 47:16Offerings.
- 47:17I mean, obviously we tithe and we bring offerings and you can get all my teaching on biblical
- 47:23finance at curtlandry.com.
- 47:27But the reason that we're cheerful givers is because it is, and you've heard the saying,
- 47:33it's better to give than receive.
- 47:36So here's the key.
- 47:39You have to start... Let's go to a grocery store.
- 47:42You're going to get in that situation.
- 47:44But one of the keys, one of the things you have to do is have some cash in your wallet.
- 47:48So what happens to me, before I go out, I always carry some cash.
- 47:52And the reason I do, and I have other friends that do this as well, it's not just me, we
- 47:57put cash in our wallets.
- 47:58Listen, I've got credit cards.
- 47:59I don't need cash.
- 48:00But the reason I have cash in my wallet is to do what I call alms, is to do exactly this.
- 48:08But I can tell you, listen, I can tell you I have had some dramatic experiences with
- 48:20this, to where I've taken care of someone's meal at a restaurant.
- 48:27I can take taking care of some groceries.
- 48:32And then I get out to my car and that person knocked on my window.
- 48:38I put the window down and they're crying.
- 48:43And they said, I so needed this today because I was ready to give up.
- 48:5125 bucks or something.
- 48:54I mean, it's like, come on.
- 48:57I pray for them.
- 48:58They leave.
- 49:00And then I sit in the car and cry because how good is God?
- 49:10How good is God?
- 49:13Can I share one testimony?
- 49:14Yeah, yeah.
- 49:15Let me share a testimony.
- 49:16It's kind of on that line.
- 49:18I used to be in the fruit business.
- 49:24And my partners, I was the one that traveled out and did all the PR for the brokerage.
- 49:29So I would go to the different grocery brokers like Publix, Harris Teeter, those different
- 49:34ones.
- 49:35So I was, and I used to stay at very moderate hotels, rent moderate cars.
- 49:45And my partners, listen, our business was extremely successful, multimillion dollar
- 49:49business.
- 49:50But that's just what I felt like to do.
- 49:52So I did.
- 49:54Understanding that my business partner says, listen, on the end of this junket, what I
- 49:59want you to do is when you get to St. Louis before you come home, go to the Marriott there.
- 50:04They have a really good spa, get a massage, stay in the nice room and go to a restaurant,
- 50:09eat steak and have a nice meal.
- 50:11So I said, okay.
- 50:12So I like that.
- 50:13Yeah.
- 50:14So I had all that done.
- 50:16And I didn't do that down in, I went to Publix.
- 50:19So I was in Jacksonville and Lakeland and Miami.
- 50:22I didn't do any of that.
- 50:24So I get there at the end of the trip.
- 50:27So I saw my last customer and I'm driving through a bad part of St. Louis on the freeway.
- 50:33I can't remember the area.
- 50:36It's been a long time ago.
- 50:37And this is a true testimony.
- 50:39So I'm driving and I'm thinking, okay, I got to get back to the hotel, change clothes so
- 50:43I can go get my spa and like that, and then go eat dinner and go to bed, fly home to Seattle
- 50:49the next day.
- 50:51And because we lived in Washington at that time.
- 50:55So I'm driving and I'm on the freeway and I look off to the right and the Lord says,
- 51:01I want you to stop and help that car.
- 51:03There's a car on the side of the road, a little four door compact car.
- 51:11And then I'm thinking to myself, no, I'm going to go to the spa.
- 51:15I heard the Lord say second time, He said, no, I want to hear that.
- 51:20I want you to go back and help that car.
- 51:23I said, I didn't stop again.
- 51:25So finally I heard a third time, He said, you need to go back to that car, the Holy
- 51:29Spirit.
- 51:30I said, okay, pull the car aside the road.
- 51:32I'm embarrassed to say this, but this is what I said.
- 51:34I said, well, Lord, now I've got to back up on the freeway.
- 51:37And if I do, I'm going to get a ticket.
- 51:39So I'm going to do it, but you better protect me from getting the ticket.
- 51:41I mean, how stupid is that?
- 51:42But that's what I said, forgive me.
- 51:44I'm being transparent.
- 51:45So I back up onto the car.
- 51:48Okay.
- 51:49I've got my suit on.
- 51:51I'm doing business, right?
- 51:53And there's a young woman in the car and she's got two kids in the car, car seats, and she's
- 51:59in the car and she's physically very upset.
- 52:03And I'm so stupid.
- 52:05I don't know what to do.
- 52:06I mean, we're in a bad part of St. Louis and here I am and she's in the car.
- 52:11She's a young girl and young lady, two kids in the car.
- 52:15So I did this, Darrell, so stupid.
- 52:17I raised my hands like this and I said to her, fear not, I come in the name of the Lord.
- 52:22I mean, it's like, how dumb is that?
- 52:24But that's what I did.
- 52:25I just raised my hand like, you know, she's in a bad part of town.
- 52:28There's a guy with a suit.
- 52:29I come up to the car and I say to her, I said, the Lord told me to stop to help you.
- 52:39She put the window down.
- 52:41She just breaks crying.
- 52:42I look in her lap.
- 52:44She's got a 357 Magnum in her lap.
- 52:50And she said she pulled the car over the side of the road.
- 52:52She says this was her husband's gun.
- 52:56And she pulled over the side of the road and she told the Lord, if you don't send somebody
- 53:02to help me, I'm going to kill these children and I'm going to kill myself right now on
- 53:07the side of the road.
- 53:12And long story short, I ended up following her, taking her home to where her house was.
- 53:22The family, why in the heck would you stop at that part of town?
- 53:26Told them she got saved.
- 53:29All the family got saved.
- 53:32I never made it to the spa.
- 53:35Got in so late, didn't eat the steak dinner.
- 53:40But that was a dream.
- 53:42I had a dream that Lord, you would use me to save people's lives.
- 53:52And saving people's lives is inconvenient and it costs you something.
- 53:58But I can tell you this, even the joy that I feel right now telling the story that was
- 54:03gosh, almost 28 years ago, it was better than the spa, better than a ribeye for the rabbi,
- 54:19better than me getting rest, was obeying God and doing what Jesus would have done.
- 54:27Because a young girl cried out in desperation, was listening to demonic demons that wanted
- 54:31to get her to commit suicide and answer the call.
- 54:36But that's always been a dream of my life is to help those who need help.
- 54:43Because in my life, when I've needed help, the Lord already sent people to me.
- 54:48So now He wants to send you and me to them.

- 56:06Send those questions to podcast at CurtinAndrew.com.
- 56:11And Rabbi, if people have made it to the deep end of this episode, what's your one little
- 56:18last parting thought before we jump out of here?
- 56:24Ask the Lord to give you big dreams.
- 56:31That's the key.
- 56:32I pray right now for each person within the sound of my voice that he would release to
- 56:38you big dreams.
- 56:43Big dreams.
- 56:46I had a dream, saw myself standing in front of thousands of people on a platform in like
- 56:52an evangelistic healing crusade.
- 56:56And I had it when I was new believer, fruit broker, not in ministry.
- 57:03And then several years later, I was with Dr. T.L.
- 57:06Osborne and Lome Togo standing on a platform in front of 30 to 50,000 people and I was
- 57:12wondering.
- 57:16And what happened is that subconscious dream, that sleep dream I had was preparing me for
- 57:24the Lord saying, I have things other than fruit business.
- 57:31This prophet named Fran Lance came to our house.
- 57:35And part of the words she spoke to me right about the time I had that dream, she said,
- 57:40you think of yourself in the fruit business and selling fruit that comes from trees.
- 57:48But the Lord says, I have called you into the fruit business that will not perish.
- 57:55And he says, and I've called you to give abundant fruit, fruit that remains.
- 58:02And that's where I'm at now.
- 58:03So I had a dream and the prophet had a word and none of them made sense in themselves.
- 58:09But now all these years later, those words and those dreams is what guides me and encourages
- 58:17me today, particularly on days when you need encouragement.
- 58:21So dream big.
- 58:22Dream big.

- 58:46Good.
- 58:47Tough subject, but I think if it helps, listen, it's not something that you can, when you
- 58:54start dealing with dreams and daydreaming and things, it's just good to know that your
- 59:01dreams can be your friend.
- 59:03So make friends with your dreams and invite the Lord.
- 59:06Before you go to bed, ask the Lord, Father God, give me a dream that will advance my

- 59:12All right.
- 59:13That'll do it for this episode, Rabbi.
- 59:16Until next time.
