- 0:11that's i mean and duchess and duchess,
- 0:16and duchess and duchess who is back home and keeping the house safe,
- 0:20all right we can leave it welcome to fast cars fast girls oh well it's been
- 0:26a great great weekend because we got to see two oval races. We got to be there in person.
- 0:32It was bittersweet because it was our last in-person IndyCar race this season,
- 0:35but great weekend overall. God, I love the Milwaukee Mile.
- 0:41I do too. So fun.
- 0:43So fun. So fun.
- 0:45And great food. Every track in Wisconsin has great track food.
- 0:50I have not been to Road America. I still need to go. But yes, I will say that.
- 0:55The cream puffs were amazing. I had one this year. I tried it.
- 1:01I had part of one and then shared it with two friends because I really should
- 1:06be gluten-free, but I just couldn't resist.
- 1:08So I bought one because I knew that if I bought three, then I would eat three,
- 1:15because I can't be trusted.
- 1:16So yes, I bought one and I shared it. So I didn't have too many ill effects
- 1:20from the gluten. I'm so mad. It just makes me I'm still mad I didn't get cheese curds, but,
- 1:28I was,
- 1:31trying to be good. I understand. All right, let's take a time off for a sec.
- 1:36I think that is my grocery word. Yes.
- 1:40And I'll just cut all this.
- 1:44You're a good girl. Yes, you are. Yes. You're a good protector. Yeah.
- 1:52Good girl. Thank you. Thank you for keeping me from being murdered.
- 1:57Okay, go on. Go. Get. Go to your back. Go on.
- 2:05Good girl. Okay. Okay.
- 2:12Okay. Good girl. Then she always comes and sits next to me. Aw.
- 2:17She's the last line of defense between me and whoever's coming through the door.
- 2:21It's really sweet. And did I tell you? She doesn't bark when I'm not around.
- 2:27Like when a human's not present. Aw.
- 2:30Which is like some higher level thinking than I thought she was capable of.
- 2:35But yeah oh they'll be so all right well i think the barking is done now,
- 2:44okay so so you didn't get any cheese curds no cheese curds but that's okay but
- 2:48i do say those little bar areas around the track are super fun,
- 2:54they are super fun and they've got such a fun variety of drinks that they offer
- 2:59at each place and and there were a lot of the the ready-to-drink cocktails the
- 3:04ready-made in a can i had a brandy old-fashioned and it was delicious sounds good,
- 3:10it was now the only thing i kind of wish they would do is like keep that little sky ride going but,
- 3:18yes that'd be cool but i i would love to ride on that yes going around that
- 3:23weekend i would love to ride on that i wish the wine tasting was kept open as well.
- 3:28It just kind of hurt my feelings to drive by that sign every day and it'd be closed. All right.
- 3:37But otherwise, great weekend. Yes. Well, even with the rain,
- 3:41we do have to say the rain.
- 3:43Yes, we did. The rain has shown up at all of the ovals this year.
- 3:52At all of them. Which is every single one. What are the fucking odds?
- 4:00But that's also like, speaking of that, everybody's complaining about Milwaukee this year.
- 4:05Would they be complaining about it if it didn't rain no no absolutely not they wouldn't be,
- 4:15which this is not okay sorry i shouldn't say every place had rain because i
- 4:22do believe phoenix was sunny oh that's right but,
- 4:28all the rest every other obel yes,
- 4:32yeah well but phoenix i mean that's an outlier they have 362 days of sun per year,
- 4:39so well for rain to be an issue there is,
- 4:43rare right well yeah but still i mean most of the ovals had rain so yeah yeah
- 4:52man and almost and and did we have any rain on any of the road courses,
- 4:58Where we actually can run in the rain?
- 5:02I don't think we did. Not that I can think of. I don't think we did have rain
- 5:07on the road courses that I can remember.
- 5:10Yeah, not that I can think of off the top of my head, which the irony is hilarious, honestly.
- 5:17But also, I've been to more ovals this year than I ever have, so I'm here for it.
- 5:27Heck yeah you have been a lot of ovals this year because you went to nashville
- 5:30too i'm okay with it i'm okay with it nice just need to coach some more races in general saving up pto.
- 5:41Always playing that game always playing the pto game uh there was one season
- 5:45i went to every oval on the schedule and it was that was a great year yeah i'm yeah i'm just,
- 5:51down i would love to go to laguna seca i've been to log beach i need to cross
- 5:56the other california one off the track
- 5:58off my california track off my bucket list so yes same i have not been out to
- 6:04laguna seca which we're going to talk about that today as well because that is our,
- 6:08our upcoming and final race of the season yes,
- 6:13and alex flow wrapped up the championship this weekend as well He sure did.
- 6:21He sure did, man. So do we want to get into it?
- 6:26Yeah. So race one started. Started. And then Mother Nature decided otherwise.
- 6:36Decided no thank you. No thanks.
- 6:40Actually, maybe you won't have a race today. That's how it's going to work.
- 6:44So that was fun. Yes. We thought we were going to get the track back.
- 6:50They gave it the old college try, that's for sure. I will say I was in that
- 6:54press conference, and it was a hard decision.
- 6:59People can still scrutinize it.
- 7:04But they were doing the best they could, so. Yeah.
- 7:09I mean, all you can do is look at the radar and hope that things are going to,
- 7:15roll your way, but you just don't know.
- 7:19You don't have a crystal ball. You can't predict. Nope. So then Sunday rolls around.
- 7:25So then we start with race two.
- 7:28Well, we were supposed to start with race one in the morning. Yeah, no.
- 7:32But then it was raining. Mother Nature decided again, too.
- 7:36Oh, so then we start race two. Well, race one is still sequestered.
- 7:42So tires have been taken off cars.
- 7:46Fuel levels have been measured. They are doing everything possible so that they
- 7:52can set these cars back to what they were,
- 7:56when they halted the first race for whenever they get to it after we ran the second race.
- 8:04The logistics involved at this weekend, I mean, could really make your head spin. Yeah.
- 8:10Yes. Yeah. So we ran race two, which was a great race and it was beautiful and it was sunny.
- 8:19Yes. They had a great anthem singer. I'll say that. Yes. She was very good.
- 8:24She was excellent. Oh my goodness. She had some pipes.
- 8:30But yes. Yes. So race two winner was Pato Award.
- 8:37Yes, it was. Which was amazing.
- 8:41Great race, great finish. He was having a hell of a day. Yep.
- 8:45And then finished. And then we. Oh, go ahead.
- 8:48I was going to say, and then we went back to finish race one after a little break.
- 8:53So that the drivers could all get rehydrated, recover, etc. Yeah.
- 9:01And then Hato won race one. Yeah. He won both races.
- 9:07Back to back. And thanks to Mr. Dewey Barnes for his tweet.
- 9:14Hato won double races on Bruce McLaren's birthday. Mind blown.
- 9:21Oh, that's wild.
- 9:25I did not know that. Well. I see it was fitting then. Very much so.
- 9:31So hopefully Zach Brown was very happy with that.
- 9:36I know Tony Kanaan was.
- 9:39Yes, he was. He gave Pato the biggest hug. He was so excited. Yeah.
- 9:44So excited. I love it. Well, and I love Pato, so I love that for him. Right.
- 9:49And then the race winner, or the second place winner for race one,
- 9:55One was David Maloukas, which he is so over getting second place.
- 10:02So over it? He is over getting second place, but I'll tell you what,
- 10:05I'm over his attitude about getting second place.
- 10:09I, he's frustrated.
- 10:12I get that, but you're a child, okay? Like, your frontal lobe is not even fully
- 10:19formed, and you're coming in second in a professional sport with top-tier athletes.
- 10:26You didn't just receive a terminal cancer diagnosis. Put a smile on your fucking face.
- 10:34The, eh. They're being frustrated, and they're being a sore loser.
- 10:39I don't know. He's frustrated.
- 10:44I mean, I hear that, but he looks like an ass on a lot of the photos I took
- 10:47this weekend. And I'm just like, why are you not smiling?
- 10:51Like, you still came in second. I get that it wasn't first place.
- 10:54You still came in second, though.
- 10:57And I say this as somebody who, historically, not good at sports.
- 11:02Played a lot of them. Really bad at them.
- 11:05So I'm very good at being a good loser.
- 11:08Like, I understand that feeling of wanting to do well and not doing well.
- 11:16Well, you're still allowed to sit in your frustrations. Should he have thrown
- 11:21Chevy under the bus? Probably not.
- 11:24Probably not. But he's allowed to be frustrated.
- 11:29He is allowed to be frustrated. That is true.
- 11:33And then the second place finisher for race two was... Scotty Mac.
- 11:40That's right. Which, that was a great race for him. Oh, my goodness. It was.
- 11:46I mean, absolutely a great race for him. I definitely was. I love Scotty Mac.
- 11:51And then the third place finisher for race one was Rita Svistka.
- 12:00Rita Svistka. Who had one of the coolest helmets this weekend.
- 12:05Yes, he did. And I'll tell you what, he couldn't have been more excited to be
- 12:10on the podium again. It was very cool to see him.
- 12:14I mean, I love when Renis is on the podium because he is just the happiest guy
- 12:19alive. Like, just all smiles. Gave the firehawk a huge hug. Like, it was adorable.
- 12:25And then... I love him. I love his parents. Yeah.
- 12:31His wife could beat our butts. Yes, she could. Yes, she could.
- 12:39And then race two coming in third is Christian Lungard, proving that he's not
- 12:43too shabby on ovals. Yes. And,
- 12:48Tony Kanan has made up his decision. We can make, you know, he said,
- 12:53you know, we can judge him for it later, but he's still very much in with his decision.
- 13:04Yeah. I mean, they've definitely got a goal in mind, that's for sure.
- 13:10And then finishing fourth in race one was Scott McLaughlin again,
- 13:14just finishing outside.
- 13:16I would say Scotty Mack had a very good race this weekend.
- 13:20And then finishing fourth in the second race was David Malukas.
- 13:28So i mean two top five finishes for both yeah not a bad day no yeah definitely not bad at all,
- 13:35yeah not bad for penske and then coming in fifths in race one was christian
- 13:42rasgusson which was great race for him good race for him,
- 13:46and then coming in fifth in race two alex below yeah.
- 13:52Not bad. I mean, it's weird to see him not dominating winning.
- 13:59Yeah, but it was still.
- 14:03Basically, he just had to finish. Basically, yeah.
- 14:09Oh. And then finishing in sixth place in race one, Christian Lundgaard.
- 14:14Which is still another very good finish for him. Absolutely.
- 14:19And then finishing sixth in race two, Kyle Kirkwood.
- 14:26Kyle Kirkwood, who made us laugh so hard with your question about the American
- 14:33Eagle at the Freedom 250.
- 14:36I mean, he had every right to be a little nervous.
- 14:40Oh, I get it. Those things have huge talons. I mean, huge beak.
- 14:47Yeah, I want no part of it. Unless I've got like one of those big leather gloves on my arm.
- 14:52And then, yes, please fly over. But I feel like the driver's suit was padded
- 14:58enough that he could have stuck his arm out.
- 15:02That's probably true. But that hand is exposed. Well, I mean,
- 15:06that is part of the race. I mean, cancer. Yeah.
- 15:10No, but if I was stuck on a deserted island, I would want Kyle Kirkwood with me.
- 15:21Yeah he's uh he's quite the fisherman so he is quite the fisherman,
- 15:29he is i just i just loved how he responded to it he was like the bird looked
- 15:33at me like i want to fly to you and he's like no please no please no it was great,
- 15:40it was just so honest and raw i loved it,
- 15:44Oh, Kyle Kirkwood. What a good guy. And then finishing seventh in race one was Joseph Newgarden.
- 15:52Yeah. And finishing seventh in race two, Rina Spique. Oh, self. Very good.
- 15:59And then finishing eighth in race one was Marcus Erickson.
- 16:05Heck yeah. And then finishing in eighth for race two was Rasmussen.
- 16:11So still pretty decent.
- 16:14Yeah, not bad at all. Even though we're flipping back from the last race to the first race. Right.
- 16:21Finishing ninth in race one, Marcus Armstrong. And finishing ninth in race two, Marcus Erickson.
- 16:30And then finishing 10th in the first race was Alex Pillow.
- 16:36Hey, look at that. Rounding out the top 10 in race two, Louis Foster.
- 16:41Which was a very good race for him. It was a good race for him.
- 16:46He actually finished 11th in race one, so just outside the top ten.
- 16:51And then in race two, Alexander Rossi. Yeah.
- 16:56About time he has a result that's up.
- 17:03And, I mean, honestly, it was a good weekend, though, for the Ed Carpenter,
- 17:06the ECR cars. Yeah, it really was.
- 17:10It was. Finishing 12th in race one, Mick Schumacher. Which, pretty decent showing for him.
- 17:17Really was. Finishing 12th in race two, Santino Ferrucci. And speaking of somebody
- 17:21who had another cool helmet.
- 17:24Yes, he did. His livery was very cool, too. Well, and the picture of his, like, grandfather.
- 17:32I mean, dead ringer for him. Yes. Yes.
- 17:40Yeah, he looks like a clone.
- 17:43That's not his grandpa. That's, yeah, he's just a clone. We do that in my family,
- 17:47too, where we'll, like, somebody will have a kid and it'll look just like them.
- 17:50And we're like, yep, we don't create more humans. We just have clones.
- 17:55Just create little mini-me's.
- 17:59So, all right, finishing in 13th in race one, Nolan Siegel.
- 18:04Not a bad day for him at all. Finishing 13th in race two, Mick Schumacher.
- 18:10Finishing 14th in race run was Alexander Rossi.
- 18:15Heck yeah. And then finishing 14th in the second race was Will Power.
- 18:22I expected to see him a little higher up. Yes, I agree. Yeah.
- 18:2615th in race one, Kyle Kirkwood. Which was surprising because...
- 18:31Yeah. But he also tangled with Rasmussen the day before in practice.
- 18:38That is true. That is true. And 15th in race two, Scott Dixon.
- 18:45Yes, which is weird. And you guys, it was Scott Dixon's last oval run with Ganassi.
- 18:55Yeah, I don't know how I feel. I'm all up in my feels about that one. I don't know.
- 19:00I know. And if he doesn't win Laguna Seca, this is going to be the first time
- 19:05in like 22 years that he's gone a whole season without a win. Wow.
- 19:11Which is crazy, right? Yes. Yeah.
- 19:17So, yeah, I was surprised to see him.
- 19:22Yeah. What was that? 15th. Yeah. So 16th in race one, where you said Kiffin Simpson. Yeah.
- 19:31And then 16th in race two, Marcus Armstrong. And then 17th in race one was Felix Rosenquist.
- 19:39All right. And then in race two, Nolan Siegel.
- 19:43Excellent. 18th in race one, Scott Dixon.
- 19:48And 18th in race two, Stingray Robb. Which...
- 19:52He's got a cool sponsor with Kong now. Yes, he does. And I love Kong because
- 19:58my dog is what is called a super chewer.
- 20:03And Kong balls actually have like a lifetime guarantee.
- 20:08And if your dog breaks the ball, they will either refund your money or will
- 20:11give you a new one for free.
- 20:13Yeah. And I will say it takes a lot to break a Kong ball.
- 20:20My dog has broken Kong balls, but I don't think that's a fault of Kong.
- 20:24I think that is just the thing with my dog. So I have never actually returned
- 20:27a Kong ball for a free one because I don't really feel like that's being a good
- 20:32consumer because I think it's my dog. It's not their balls.
- 20:34I was sad. I tried to make it over to the little activation and they had already taken it down.
- 20:43So, sorry, Hanky, mom and dad's dog.
- 20:47Okay, I didn't get you a toy, but you're fine. You have tons of toys at home, but.
- 20:54I know, I was sad that they'd already taken it down too, but it's all right.
- 20:57Like, Duchess just got a new ball. She'll be all right.
- 21:02Oh, well, finishing 19th in race one, Romain Grosjean, and finishing 19th in
- 21:09race two, Kiffin Simpson.
- 21:12Finishing 20th in race one was Santino Ferrucci, and finishing 20th in race
- 21:20two was Felix Rosicquist, which I was kind of surprised at.
- 21:24Yeah, he was further down on both races than I anticipated.
- 21:30Uh finishing 21st dennis hauger in race one and finishing 21st in race two also
- 21:38dennis hauger consistent.
- 21:42And then finishing 22nd in race one was Stingray Rob.
- 21:49And then finishing 22nd in race two was Graham Ray Hall.
- 21:55Which he has not been having good luck on the ovals. No, he really has not.
- 22:00Which is not the norm for him. He usually does decent on ovals.
- 22:05Yeah. Yeah, he's not usually that far back. So finishing 23rd in race one was Graham Ray Hall.
- 22:12And finishing 23rd in race 2,
- 22:17Caio Collette. And then finishing 24th in race 1 was Caio Collette.
- 22:26And 24th in the second race was Bronon Grosjean.
- 22:32And then 25th in race 1, Will Power, who was out due to contact.
- 22:40And 25th in race 2 is Joseph Newgarden who is also out due to contact.
- 22:45Which, this is the second time he has like crashed and then ended up on the main street.
- 22:55Yeah. Yeah, it is. Yeah. He should stop doing that. Yeah. So.
- 23:08Like we said, Pato, double winner.
- 23:13Double winner. So exciting. Yes, but I was really sad they only did the cream puffs for race one.
- 23:22Yes, for the second celebration of the day, which happened to be race one.
- 23:27Yeah, I was disappointed about that, too. But they were very funny,
- 23:30and the boys took bites and then smashed them on each other.
- 23:32That's what I always like about it.
- 23:35Yeah, that was pretty good. Maybe they didn't want to get all the cream and
- 23:38everything on the fire suit since they had to still wear them. Oh, that's true, too.
- 23:42That is true. Because that would have just curdled.
- 23:45Because when I told the woman when I got the cream puff, I was like,
- 23:47can I get a box or something to put it in because I'm not going to eat it right
- 23:50away? And she was like, well, how long are you going to let it sit?
- 23:52Because it's heavy whipping cream. And I was like, okay, understood.
- 23:55Understood. Don't let it hang out. Yeah.
- 24:00Right. So, great weekend, though. Oh, my goodness. Yeah.
- 24:07Saw so many friends from all over the country.
- 24:11Saw friends from Indy.
- 24:15Yeah. Saw friends from Chicago. Saw friends from Pennsylvania.
- 24:17It was just great. It was a good time. Kentucky. Yeah.
- 24:20And I do have to say, it was really cute. One of the races, it was when I was
- 24:25standing behind Dixon's Pit for race one, finishing up race one.
- 24:30And there was a little girl in pink standing behind the flag stand,
- 24:34and her dad was sitting behind.
- 24:36And I couldn't tell who her favorite driver was, but every time that car came
- 24:40by, she pointed and she was jumping up and down and just loving life.
- 24:46Oh, I love that so much. It was so cute.
- 24:50Oh, that's precious. So cute. So, so, so cute. And then as I was leaving the
- 24:54grid for race two, there's a little girl in an Alex Klo jersey.
- 25:02And Barry Wanzer said, hey.
- 25:08What's the strategy for today? And the little girl was like, so run fast.
- 25:16Oh, my God. I love it. It was the cutest thing ever. I love little kids at the racetrack.
- 25:23They're precious. It was amazing. And this is why I like IndyCod, because it's just so...
- 25:31You can get you can have interactions like that with drivers and kids can get
- 25:35that close to drivers and it just makes their day. Yes. It was very cool.
- 25:41That is awesome. It's very neat. And then while I was walking up and down pit
- 25:45lane during one of the races, the security guys had to keep telling people to
- 25:49stop like coming in and out.
- 25:52And I was just like, man, I'm like, I know these people are excited and they
- 25:56want to get close to the action. But I'm like, don't make the security people mad.
- 26:03Right like let's not let's not irritate these we don't want to get access taken away,
- 26:09no definitely not definitely not but but yeah i love i love how accessible indycar
- 26:16drivers are it's it's fun and there is a lot of people i saw a lot of papaya orange,
- 26:23this weekend a lot of papaya orange i actually saw quite a bit of andretti gear too,
- 26:30same Elm.
- 26:35Yeah, and then who else did I see? I saw,
- 26:40a lot of Penske. Yeah, I did see a lot of Penske. Yeah, so I mean, it was pretty,
- 26:48good amount, and the merch was amazing. The merch was amazing. I bought a new hat.
- 26:55I posted on our Instagram, and got some very cool stuff.
- 26:59Yeah, they really do have some cool stuff.
- 27:03Yeah. Definitely. Yeah, I got a pink and white with a little bit of blue hat.
- 27:11Very good stuff. But yes, but definitely put Milwaukee on your to-do list if
- 27:16you have not been to Milwaukee.
- 27:19Absolutely, because it is well worth your time. Yes, and it's really not that bad of a drive.
- 27:24You just have to time to get through Chicago correctly. Yes.
- 27:31Which honestly i hit chicago because i ended up getting there later than anticipated
- 27:39so i missed rush hour completely and it was lovely.
- 27:45No, it's not. It's not too bad. And then you get to drive by the big Haribo gummy bear.
- 27:52Yeah, you do. And that was actually a question I put on our Instagram as well.
- 27:57Do you think Haribo should be an IndyCar sponsor? I totally think so.
- 28:02Yes, they should. Because you drive by the factory twice. If you go to Milwaukee.
- 28:07Sure do. And then if you go to Road America.
- 28:10Yeah, they should definitely be a sponsor. A gummy bear car? A gummy bear car?
- 28:15Oh it'd be great and have think about if they partnered with meyer shank and
- 28:20they had gummy bears and grateful dead so grateful dead gummy bears nice,
- 28:26right or just you know with all the little characters they have just have them
- 28:30all and then like have them kind of scattering up and back on the car like they're flying away,
- 28:37as they drive by yes yes oh that would be great well And then somebody also
- 28:42said, like, the Indiana company, Albanese.
- 28:50So, that would be a good one, too. That would be a good one, too. Be a great one. Yes.
- 28:59Yes. But now we're going to be California Dreaming. And I wish I would be there. We sure are.
- 29:07Yes, wish we were going to be there. So it is the Mission Food Grand Prix of Monterey.
- 29:17So it's at WeatherTech Raceway, which is in Laguna Seca, and it's an 11-turn,
- 29:222.238-mile permanent road course in Monterey, California, which has great wheel-watching
- 29:29from what I've been told. Yes.
- 29:34The race distance is 95 laps, or 212.61 miles, and the ending next races, one of them is 35,
- 29:46laps slash 55 minutes, and the other is 30 laps slash 50 minutes.
- 29:55Very, very fun. Jealous of anybody who's there.
- 30:01We sure are. I mean, the championship has already been wrapped up. We have to say that.
- 30:07Yep, it has already been wrapped up. So it's going to be a fun race for everybody. They can go have fun.
- 30:15Which I believe second and third, they can still.
- 30:19I mean, Lungard and Kirkwood can still kind of battle it out to see if they can get second place.
- 30:25That's true. That is true. But it'll still be a fun race. Yes.
- 30:30And then Felix Rosenquist has the Nickelback car this year, this weekend.
- 30:38That's right. I forgot he's got the Nickelback car this weekend. Very cool.
- 30:44As a millennial. Very cool. It's so, so millennial. Oh, Nickelback. Yes.
- 30:55Yeah i owned a nickelback cd gosh,
- 31:00oh yes oh yes well it'll be a great weekend they've got action friday saturday
- 31:06and sunday so make sure that you are watching um or recording if you can't watch
- 31:12live because it's going to be a good weekend yes and then um,
- 31:16and actually oh no you're fine,
- 31:19i'm gonna say and if you're staying around indy and you're local we do have
- 31:23some local racing happening this weekend as well it is the u.s nationals,
- 31:30out at lucas oil raceway park out in claremont indiana so come out and see some
- 31:35nhra yes wish i could do that but my poor ankle needs rest your poor ankle does
- 31:42need rest oh my goodness yes,
- 31:46Your poor foot and your boot. We made it, though. It's okay.
- 31:50You did make it. You were a trooper, man. But I also wanted,
- 31:54before we end our podcast, I want to congratulate Alex Blo for the championship.
- 32:02After race one finished, somebody who I was standing with behind Dixon's pit
- 32:10went to go congratulate Chip.
- 32:13And Mr. Ganassi was literally calm, cool, and collected.
- 32:19Like, just very humble about the win and had great things to say during the
- 32:26press conference. I mean.
- 32:32He has more championships than Penske. He does.
- 32:37Chip likes winners. It's crazy. It is crazy.
- 32:42I know people don't like it when...
- 32:48The driver just outright wins it all.
- 32:52But I truly believe we are witnessing something very special with Alex Blow.
- 32:58Oh, I absolutely agree. Dynasty level. Yes, yes. And one of the reasons that I love,
- 33:08to make jokes about him not doing well is because he's so excellent.
- 33:12You know, it's like he he is the the next great driver of our generation.
- 33:21Like they're going to be talking about Alex Pillow for decades.
- 33:24I mean, he is I mean, but he is I mean, he's got it all.
- 33:28He's got he's so kind, so nice.
- 33:32So kind. And you can't dislike him, even if you tried and drive the wheels off a car.
- 33:39Sure can. is calm as a cucumber if something goes wrong.
- 33:45Does nothing but tell his competitors how great they did and how hard it was to beat them.
- 33:52So. And as if that's not enough, if they speak Spanish, he says in Spanish so
- 33:58that people can't understand him and they don't even hear him being so humble and nice.
- 34:02So, yeah. He's just, yeah. No, he's unbelievable.
- 34:09He's an unbelievable driver. I know that I do talk a lot of shit about Palo
- 34:13not winning, but he really is an unbelievable driver. I only say that because he is so good.
- 34:20We are witnessing something very special with him, and...
- 34:27It will be definitely very interesting to see how that Ganassi team forms around
- 34:34that and who is supposedly rumored to be going to them.
- 34:40Yeah, who's going to be in the nine card.
- 34:44So that'll be very interesting. It'll be very interesting to see what their
- 34:47lineup is and kind of how the team adapts to losing Scott Dixon,
- 34:54too, because that's going to be a big change.
- 34:58Yeah, and that's, to me, crazy, because as long as I have been a follower of
- 35:08IndyCar, Dixon has always been with Ganassi.
- 35:13Yeah. And it's just going to be weird. And I know it's part of the whole ebbs and flows in racing.
- 35:22Sure, but this has been.
- 35:26A long time for a change. Which, you know, change is hard, but we'll get used to it.
- 35:35We will. We will. Dixie will look good in Papaya. Yep.
- 35:38But, I mean, a Kiwi running for McLaren is very awesome.
- 35:47It really is. And especially since it's something that, you know,
- 35:51Scott Dixon has always wanted to do.
- 35:54So, I think that's cool. Yes.
- 35:58But also big respect to the whole Ganassi team for, you know,
- 36:04wishing him well and not having hard feelings.
- 36:07And being very open about the fact that they were happy to keep him on until
- 36:12he decides he's done racing.
- 36:14That was just a class act of a way to handle that.
- 36:18Well, and that's what Chip was saying when he was talking about his teams,
- 36:23is that they all cheer for each other. There's no animosity amongst,
- 36:29there's no, you know, no.
- 36:34No, a win for somebody is a win for everybody. Yes. Yeah.
- 36:40Yeah. I would definitely say they're giving Penske a run for their money.
- 36:45Because at least as I was taught growing up, Penske is the highest,
- 36:54pinnacle you can go. And it's still one of those rides. If you can get a Penske
- 36:58ride, that's insanely awesome.
- 37:03But now I would almost say maybe you would almost get a Ganassi ride over Penske. Yeah.
- 37:12Yeah. And this is no shade to Penske.
- 37:17No, none whatsoever. But Ganassi is a powerhouse. And like you said,
- 37:21they do have more championships.
- 37:23Now, Penske has more 500 wins, but... Sure does. I mean...
- 37:35It's yeah so interesting it's very interesting and i can't believe the season
- 37:42is almost coming to an end,
- 37:45i know it's crazy seems like it just started yes well i'm not okay that we are in the burr months,
- 37:53already i like we're not there yet even we're just getting closer even though
- 37:59It's like wedding anniversary Birthday Christmas,
- 38:05It's all coming up But I'm a summer girl.
- 38:11I'm a transition season girl. So fall and spring, I'm a fan of those.
- 38:17And I know it's not very popular. I like winter, too.
- 38:21Some days in winter can be okay. I don't want it to be super freezing cold.
- 38:28Yeah, I could do without that. I'd like more snow than we typically get, though.
- 38:33But it's been super hot this week, too. So it's weird. But I will say...
- 38:38Oh, God, it's a little hot.
- 38:40Come September... So as it turns September, the Canadian geese are already flying
- 38:46in formation. And I'm like, wow.
- 38:50And I've noticed it's getting dark way sooner. And I'm not okay with that.
- 38:53Because pretty soon I'm going to have to go to work in the dark and come home
- 38:57in the dark. And I don't like that. Yeah, I have noticed that too.
- 39:00And I do hate that part. I don't like that.
- 39:03Nope, not a fan. I'm with you. But I do like a good pumpkin spice latte. Some good apples.
- 39:11And all that good stuff. Yep, I
- 39:13like all the basic bitch things about the fall. I'm here for all of them.
- 39:18Now, who do you think is going to win this weekend at Laguna?
- 39:26Because I think I did pick Pato, possibly, if I remember correctly.
- 39:33I never... Oh, I think you did pick Pato last week. One of the guys that I could
- 39:38say could win it so i picked him on my fantasy team i see yeah so that that worked out well for me uh,
- 39:48yeah actually i had pato and malucas on my fantasy team it worked out very well
- 39:51for me and polo was my wild card so in race one i finished uh one two five nice,
- 39:59so yeah great great week for me um,
- 40:03but for this week at Laguna Seca I'm gonna say,
- 40:10on the podium in no particular order,
- 40:15Lundgaard, Rosenquist, Kirkwood. Okay, I like that. What about you?
- 40:27I have four. Alex Pillow, only because he's running Zanardi's old paint scheme.
- 40:37Okay. And Zanardi had that, had Laguna Seca, owned Laguna Seca.
- 40:47So Alex Pillow is in that meh mixture. I am going to say Lungard as well. I like Kyle Kirkwood.
- 40:56I'm going to do Lucas.
- 41:00I think he's,
- 41:04mad enough hungry enough,
- 41:10to do it. Close out the season with a big win. I like it. Ow.
- 41:20I could see it.
- 41:23Yeah. With how frustrated he was, I think he's going to carry a lot with him.
- 41:34Yeah. I think you are correct on that.
- 41:38Oh, and then even if he doesn't win this weekend, I think he's got a lot of
- 41:43ammunition that he can use to train and,
- 41:52take it and, you know, train really hard over the offseason. Absolutely.
- 42:00Yeah, if we don't see a win from him this weekend, I anticipate that we'll see
- 42:06one from him early on in the 2027 season.
- 42:10I agree as well. Yeah. It's coming.
- 42:15It's coming for you, Chef Day. Yes, but I kind of do want Scott Dixon to win
- 42:20one more time for Ganassi, but.
- 42:23I would love to see that. But I don't know. No.
- 42:30Well, it'll be interesting. It'll be a good weekend. It will be a good weekend.
- 42:33And I'm jealous of anybody that's out there.
- 42:37They're going to do a lot of very cool stuff. So check the socials.
- 42:43Yes. Yes. Make sure to stay up on all the Fast Cars Fast Girls socials or on
- 42:49Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X, Facebook, all of the things.
- 42:56And of course, make sure that you subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 43:02And I think that's it. Sarah, do we have anything else to talk about? No, I don't think so.
- 43:07All right. Well, that's it for Sarah Proctor. I'm Abby Meyer,
- 43:10and we'll see you at the racetrack.
