- 0:00Coming up... Wait, so are we all agreeing that
- 0:02mimics are tied to time, past, present, and future?
- 0:06Just because of this one conversation, my whole
- 0:11thoughts on paranormal activity and ghosts and
- 0:15everything is slightly shifting, and I don't
- 0:19like that. So, we've played Tag and Hide and
- 0:23Seek and Ring Around the Rosie with a ghost.
- 0:26Have you ever played Simon Says with a ghost?
- 0:28I think it's a strong possibility. Before this
- 0:31podcast, before we started recording this episode,
- 0:34I would have never thought of it. That was fun.
- 0:37That was really fun. The Estus method, and you
- 0:41were asking like... And rods. And the dowsing
- 0:44rods at the same time, yes. And using both devices,
- 0:47trying to have the spirit pick an object and
- 0:49see if through Estus... and the rods separately
- 0:53both people can have a certain item be identified
- 0:57in the room and it worked but simon says yes
- 1:04it was but simon says is where you do something
- 1:07and invite the spirit or usually with a person
- 1:11but in this case it would be with this spirit
- 1:14you invite them to copy you to do the same thing
- 1:17if i if i say simon says raise your right hand
- 1:21and in the spirit raises her right hand, you
- 1:23would then be playing Simon Says with a ghost.
- 1:25We haven't played Simon Says, but... Yeah. We've
- 1:30had some unconsensual copying. Mimicking. Unconsensual.
- 1:40Unconsensual. What did you say, Angela? Unconventional?
- 1:44That was unconventional. I didn't give you convention.
- 1:48Unconventional. You guys know. I have issues
- 1:52with words sometimes. You could have just ended
- 1:56it as I have issues. The fact Brianna admits
- 2:04that I also have issues and she doesn't like
- 2:07me. We all have issues, okay? It's not a bad
- 2:12thing. No. We go ghost hunting. The ghosts! The
- 2:19ghosts! um no we've had mimics happen and i guess
- 2:25the point of that little weird intro about simon
- 2:28says was none of the instances where all of us
- 2:32have been mimicked before in no instance have
- 2:34we said hey ghost can you mimic us it was always
- 2:40just out of the blue out of the blue yeah suddenly
- 2:45we're talking to what ourselves What is a mimic?
- 2:50Is it us? Is there a one singular... Is it us
- 2:55in the future? That's a good theory. Is it us
- 2:59in the past? That's another good theory. I'm
- 3:04thinking this is the whole thing with the hat
- 3:06man. Is it one singular mimic? Is it us? Is it
- 3:11just a type of haunting? Is it a phenomena that
- 3:15any spirit can do? Yeah, so that's a topic, so
- 3:23yeah, let's talk about it. Hell yeah! Simon says
- 3:26let's get this topic started. Welcome to our
- 3:29podcast, where we take deep dives looking at
- 3:31various topics through a paranormal lens. So,
- 3:36to set the scene, last week we were doing a live
- 3:41investigation at the State House in Fort Wayne,
- 3:43Indiana, and I posted this on social media, so
- 3:47if you're... On Facebook, if you're on Insta,
- 3:49if you're on TikTok, you can see this. Angela's
- 3:52voice came through the spirit box loud and clear.
- 3:54She got mimicked. Okay, now that was weird. That
- 4:00was a voice that came through and that sounded...
- 4:02That sounded like me. I feel like that sounded
- 4:06like me. That was really weird. Can you elaborate
- 4:08on how you felt? Was it scary? How did it feel
- 4:11hearing your own voice come through? It wasn't
- 4:13necessarily scary hearing my voice come through.
- 4:16It was more fascinating because I heard that
- 4:21was my own voice and it automatically registered
- 4:23to me. I was like, that was my voice. I feel
- 4:27like I have a very unique, annoying voice in
- 4:31a way. Not annoying. It's unique because it's
- 4:34a great voice. Great things can be unique just
- 4:38like bad things can be unique. It's unique in
- 4:40all the right reasons. Everyone makes fun and
- 4:43jokes about my laughing and stuff. Why? I love
- 4:46your laughing. I have a high -pitched, annoying,
- 4:50nowhere voice. I was just like, that was me.
- 4:56That was me. That was 100 % me. It was more fascinating
- 5:02because I'm like, there's no one else in the
- 5:04house. What did it even say again? I don't remember.
- 5:06It said, let me? Let me. Let me. Let me. Let
- 5:14me. Which is horrifying in hindsight if you really
- 5:17think about it. Like, let me in? Like, what's
- 5:20the let me? Or, I mean, Angela at the time was
- 5:24handcuffed, so it could have been like, let me
- 5:27out or let me go. oh yeah we this was for anyone
- 5:31listening like what handcuffed uh we we did a
- 5:35live and we uh handcuffed angela to a haunted
- 5:38portal closet in the state house yeah and left
- 5:42her alone to do this live and um that's when
- 5:45her own voice came through the box and said let
- 5:47me and then she was like oh cool this is fun
- 5:50yeah because i feel like when i watched that
- 5:54video back i wasn't even I wasn't like, oh my
- 5:57god, that was my voice. I gotta get out of here.
- 5:59That's so creepy. I was just like, wait a minute.
- 6:01Wait a minute? Hold up. Wait a minute. That wasn't
- 6:06right. Okay, now that was weird. That was a voice
- 6:13that came through and that sounded... That sounded
- 6:16like me. I feel like that sounded like me. That
- 6:19was really weird. Brianna, you haven't heard
- 6:23your voice be mimicked, but there was one instance.
- 6:25Where we're up north. Actually up north. Objectively
- 6:30up north. Because it was in the upper peninsula.
- 6:32So no one can dispute that we're talking about
- 6:34up north. A lot of people in Michigan would be
- 6:36crazy. We were up north. People are crazy. Not
- 6:40just Michigan. But in Michigan. Geography is
- 6:44a weirdly. Obsessive thing. People always debate.
- 6:49When we say northern Michigan. Whatever. Anyways.
- 6:55What was that sound? Do it again? No. I'll do
- 7:01it. You're the worst mimic ever. You wouldn't
- 7:12even pass as a mimic. I wouldn't. If that came
- 7:18through the box, I wouldn't even think that was
- 7:20a mimic. um anyways we're at the mission hill
- 7:27cemetery and a few episodes ago this is that
- 7:31cemetery the same cemetery um where we were talking
- 7:35about like a portal a potential portal opened
- 7:38up right right before that portal opened up we're
- 7:41doing estus method session and i was under the
- 7:43estus and i heard claire's day brianna's voice
- 7:46come through the spirit box i don't remember
- 7:48what it said I was just about to say, I don't
- 7:51even really remember. I don't remember if you
- 7:53said what it had said. I think I was just freaking
- 7:56out because I heard your voice. I said, like,
- 7:58oh, I just heard Brianna. I'm trying to think
- 8:00of, because I feel like, because like you said,
- 8:03you guys have had your voices mimicked, and I'm
- 8:06trying to remember. Angela, what's up with Angela
- 8:08being mimicked? Oh, yeah, I forgot about Parashini.
- 8:11That's also in the film. Yeah, it was through
- 8:14the recorder, and it said mom, but it sounded
- 8:16like my voice. So we got 70 and 91. So we got
- 8:2270 and 91. It sounds like mom. No, it has to
- 8:26be me. It sounds like my voice, but at the same
- 8:28time it says mom, so I don't know. There is such
- 8:30a thing as like a mimic. We were investigating
- 8:35the cemetery of Piercini, and this is in the
- 8:39documentary, Piercini Plague in the Pines. Go
- 8:41watch it if you haven't. It's a full -length
- 8:43documentary. We were investigating the children.
- 8:46And we're doing an EVP session, and we were talking
- 8:49with a child named Blake. And all the EVPs were,
- 8:52like, whispers that you expect, like, my name's
- 8:54Blake. But, like, sounding like a kid, right?
- 8:57There was one voice, clear as day, of Angela
- 9:00saying, mom. And she did not say mom. So it was
- 9:04as if it was still talking to that kid, but then
- 9:07it was Angela's voice. Angela, say mom. Mom.
- 9:10It sounded just like that, but obviously not
- 9:13like... it sounded like mom say like say yeah
- 9:18a little more exciting okay okay it sounded like
- 9:21when i'm annoyed with my mom it was like mom
- 9:23yeah that's exactly it i don't know your excited
- 9:27voice that's actually your annoyed voice okay
- 9:29but what's funny too is like we are talking about
- 9:34all these circumstances where our voices have
- 9:37been mimicked if you watch the film And you watch
- 9:41that part where you guys are going over the audio.
- 9:44And you're like, everyone's like, oh my gosh,
- 9:46that sounds like Angela. And she just looks at
- 9:48the camera like, you gotta be kidding me. Like,
- 9:52the most annoyed look. It's not even like, oh
- 9:55my god, that was my voice. It was, you're joking.
- 9:59Like, this is the stupidest thing ever. Like,
- 10:02why is this, like, why? Honestly, I loved it.
- 10:07You were so annoyed. oh my god like well and
- 10:13then another thing too that night i think we
- 10:17were just in the zone too because that wasn't
- 10:20even the only mimic experience we had that was
- 10:23a scary night i'm not gonna lie it was so i was
- 10:27really terrified trevor who co -hosts the what
- 10:31goes bump podcast it's called what goes bump
- 10:34in the night their you know name is what goes
- 10:37bump and they always say welcome to what goes
- 10:40bump and uh we're gonna link their podcast in
- 10:45the description of this podcast what goes bump
- 10:47in the night you should go listen to their stuff
- 10:49really great uh podcasts they have but clear
- 10:53as day we just hear we're turning on the spirit
- 10:57box and we plug it in and as we're getting a
- 11:01situation it's not even sweeping it's just the
- 11:03speakers on clear as day trevor's voice comes
- 11:06through saying What goes bump? In a way, he's
- 11:11never said it before. But it was him. But it
- 11:15was clearly him. And we all look at it. And it
- 11:17was clearly what goes bump. And that was captured
- 11:22on camera and included too. So two people got
- 11:24mimicked saying relevant things. Because that's
- 11:30a scary implication too, right? Hear me out here.
- 11:34Mom. You know, it doesn't imply that it knows
- 11:37you at all, just your voice. It knew Trevor's
- 11:40voice, how to mimic his voice, and it knew the
- 11:43name of his podcast to repeat it, but just uncanny
- 11:48enough to be different and noticeably wrong.
- 11:51Isn't that kind of scary? Yeah. Yes. I don't
- 11:54think either of them said what goes bump in the
- 11:56night while they were there until that happened.
- 12:01No, they didn't say it out loud. It's not like
- 12:03when we introduce ourselves, it's like, hi, I'm
- 12:06Trevor. I always say, what goes bump on a podcast?
- 12:10It's like, that's not something you say during
- 12:12an EVP session. So it wasn't. And this is when
- 12:16we were setting up too, so. It was weird. That
- 12:22was weird. I think that's the thing about Mimics
- 12:25to me in general, is like the uncanny. value
- 12:28it's very uncanny yeah well because i'm trying
- 12:31to think of a circumstance in which i have heard
- 12:35like ben in the same thing and of like place
- 12:38and i've heard it like in person in the moment
- 12:40the only one i can think of is when i was doing
- 12:44estes method alone in the basement of madison
- 12:47and i had i heard Three people's voices come
- 12:54through. I heard Adam's voice. Adam Kimmel, the
- 12:56owner of the location. I'm pretty sure I heard
- 13:00your voice. Mine? Yeah. And I think I heard one
- 13:04other person's voice. Not mine, thank God. No,
- 13:07not yours. What do you mean, thank God? If Bree
- 13:12said I heard Angela's voice, she would have been
- 13:13like, oh yeah, that's cool. Not now, you're saying
- 13:16thank God? it's it's madison okay that's a whole
- 13:20different story okay i there's something more
- 13:25than just paranormal going on there yeah i'm
- 13:29sorry but well i think time works differently
- 13:31there in general yeah 100 do you think these
- 13:34weird places with weird time and also piercini
- 13:38we had multiple um mimic encounters but that's
- 13:42also a place we went to very often in a short
- 13:45time right So could, you know, you know what
- 13:49I'm getting at? I think there's a high potential
- 13:51that it could be like us hearing something from
- 13:59a different place, different time, like an impression
- 14:02of ourselves of a moment, like residual energy.
- 14:09Okay. And then also. That would make sense. If
- 14:12the common. Cheese layers come back in. No, we're
- 14:17not talking about cheese layers. I forbid. But
- 14:20cheese layers do make sense, Ben. The cheese
- 14:23layers make sense in this moment. I'm going to
- 14:25say what I'm going to say after you explain the
- 14:26cheese layers. How do the cheese layers relate
- 14:29here? Eva Brianna understands. So I was just
- 14:32saying, if this is imprints of us from the future
- 14:35or the past, that would go to my cheese layer
- 14:38theory of that past, present, and future are
- 14:42all overlaid with each other. different layers
- 14:45of cheese or if you want to think about it in
- 14:48the apartment sense you got first second and
- 14:50third floor and like things can shift between
- 14:53the floors sometimes Go listen to episode 8.
- 14:58Yeah, I was going to say, if you need to understand
- 15:00it, go listen to the other episode about the
- 15:02cheese. We got a whole episode about the cheese
- 15:05layers. I spent way too much time just now finding,
- 15:08what's that stupid episode where we're talking
- 15:09about cheese the whole episode? Equating cheese,
- 15:12layers of cheese melting onto each other and
- 15:15fusing in a sandwich to the residual hauntings.
- 15:18But anyways, my point was, most people talk about
- 15:21like... uh records like it's a record just replaying
- 15:26itself on a loop could if you want to equate
- 15:30that way i don't know the cheese layer equivalent
- 15:32to this but records could the record warping
- 15:36and being warped or distorted over time equate
- 15:40for the uncanny valley aspect of the mimics that
- 15:43is an interesting thought and then what are the
- 15:46implications of if we are if we are encountering
- 15:51our own residual energy us in a different time
- 15:55as residual energy when we encounter our mimics
- 15:58every mimic encounter is uncanny and not exactly
- 16:02dead on to some degree so what are the implications
- 16:05then of any spirits we encounter are we ever
- 16:09encountering the true representation of the spirit
- 16:12we're encountering interesting I do really like
- 16:18that idea of a warped record. Because it makes
- 16:24sense. I hate that it makes so much sense, but
- 16:28it makes sense. I don't hate that it makes sense.
- 16:30It's interesting. I hate that it doesn't make
- 16:34as much sense to me as the cheese layers. That's
- 16:38what I hate right now. Another thing, too. This
- 16:41is getting kind of meta. Did we create... this
- 16:48okay okay so we're talking if if a mimic existing
- 16:54let's use piercini as the example here a mimic
- 16:57existing at piercini is because our residual
- 17:03energy of the multiple times we went there over
- 17:07the course of a short time over the course of
- 17:09six months we're then engaging with our imprints
- 17:13out of time not in a linear manner right we could
- 17:17be encountering future you know angela past angela
- 17:20it's all just this residual energy from us i
- 17:24mean even in that circumstance you could even
- 17:27be interacting with present you but it's just
- 17:32my point is yes you're breaking my brain but
- 17:36the point is time isn't real there in this instance
- 17:42right we'd be If this theory is true. Is that
- 17:46because of us? Because we are making a film and
- 17:51the film is not presented chronologically, linearly.
- 17:54We are taking these moments and fragmenting them,
- 17:58taking them out of their context to create an
- 18:00abstract film. And then when we look back on
- 18:04the events of Piercini, I can't even pinpoint
- 18:07which investigation it was because it didn't
- 18:10happen in that order in the film. So we are juggling
- 18:14time and manipulating time. Are we creating the
- 18:19environment by making a nonlinear film to have
- 18:23these out -of -time experiences even be possible?
- 18:31Again, getting really meta here. Really woo -woo.
- 18:36Very meta. That's kind of strange if you think
- 18:38about it. Because all the Mimic experiences we've
- 18:42really had were when we were filming stuff. And
- 18:49even Angela had the Mimic this past week at the
- 18:55State House during a live stream. I had 108 people
- 19:01hear that with their own ears. Yeah, live. Over
- 19:04a thousand people in and out. But that moment
- 19:06you had over a hundred people. In different time
- 19:09zones. Focused on this one moment. That then
- 19:12is going to be taken out of the context. Of a
- 19:14live stream. And placed in a film. It's all.
- 19:20You see what I mean. All these things are about
- 19:22time. And being manipulated. And I think there's
- 19:26certain conditions. Then that can be right. So
- 19:30we're in the camp then. That mimics aren't a
- 19:33singular. entity or a type of entity like a hat
- 19:37man or something that's running around like that
- 19:38but could it be could it be could there be more
- 19:41could there be yeah it could be mimic or is it
- 19:44a combination of both well do you think spirits
- 19:48can mimic do you think most spirits we engage
- 19:51with can they just i guess like one of their
- 19:54superpowers i don't think so i think i don't
- 19:56think i think they could they could like mimic
- 19:59you in a mocking sense But I don't think they
- 20:03could. Like what Angela did. Yeah. That's terrible.
- 20:12But I don't think ghosts have superpowers and
- 20:17can actually mimic you. If there is, maybe it
- 20:25depends on the type of entity, if they have the
- 20:28ability to. Mimic someone? I don't know. You
- 20:32believe in multiple different types of ghosts?
- 20:34With how much we've been talking about residual
- 20:37energy and entities and like potentially different
- 20:42cheese layers and warped records it makes it
- 20:47feel like mimics are less of a potential actual
- 20:52entity and like these arguments for the other
- 20:57thing sound more reasonable but there is that
- 21:01potential that they could actually be a kind
- 21:05of spirit or an entity or something that is trying
- 21:08to mimic you or for some reason I don't know
- 21:13typically in these sort of circumstances when
- 21:17you think of a mimic you think of something negative
- 21:20well we'd be remiss to hear if we didn't mention
- 21:25dweller and the whole idea of um the your shadow
- 21:30self right the whole idea of the dweller is the
- 21:34shadow self the bad version of you that you don't
- 21:37want to face a lot of people scary insecure version
- 21:40of you yes and a lot of people theorize that
- 21:43that creates a doppelganger a double that your
- 21:45double your doppelganger is actually like what
- 21:49you would classify as your shadow yeah a dweller
- 21:53so there's a lot of that element and a lot of
- 21:55mimic and doppelganger and they even say with
- 21:58doppelgangers traditionally if you see your own
- 22:01doppelganger you die so it's traditionally a
- 22:03scary kind of thing you don't want it you want
- 22:05to shy away from you don't want to see your doppelganger
- 22:07that reminds me of a story remember when we were
- 22:10it was like a few years ago when we were at the
- 22:13paranormal mill conference At the Old Mill in
- 22:16Dundee. Old Mill in Dundee. And one of the tables,
- 22:20the booths that was near us, I don't remember
- 22:23this guy's name. I don't remember what team he's
- 22:27part of. But someone says that they saw his doppelganger,
- 22:31a pure copy of him, going upstairs in the mill.
- 22:36Oh, yeah, I remember that. He was sitting at
- 22:38the table in that same room next to us the whole
- 22:42time and never got up. But that guy, where's
- 22:46the guy? He walked right past him, walked upstairs,
- 22:50and came downstairs and was all confused. I was
- 22:53like, I thought you were just walked upstairs.
- 22:57Like, remember that? Mm -hmm. And that night
- 23:00was weird, too. That investigation, like, I do
- 23:04think a portal opened that investigation, too.
- 23:07That was the first time we ever got seven come
- 23:08through and all that stuff. Oh. and it was talking
- 23:11about it was talking about madison seminary because
- 23:15a few times before madison forgot about that
- 23:20yep i forgot about that too yeah we went to madison
- 23:23not too long after and there were like a couple
- 23:26investigations the rest were at my apartment
- 23:28but that was the only non -apartment investigation
- 23:30that basically said things that were it turned
- 23:37out to be very accurate about our investigation
- 23:38of madison seminary and then we went to madison
- 23:41seminary and a lot of stuff had to do with past
- 23:43present and future and the time it's that's so
- 23:47weird and then on the spirit box it was saying
- 23:50yeah it was saying adam's name multiple times
- 23:53and then we go to madison you hear adam's name
- 23:56or adam's voice come through the spirit box so
- 23:59there's a lot of connections um and then right
- 24:02before that quote -unquote portal opened again
- 24:05a mimic so could it be something with this whatever
- 24:08a portal is could it just be well this was a
- 24:12kind of a tear in like we could see different
- 24:16thinning in between dimensions or different times
- 24:21everything i feel like wait so are we all agreeing
- 24:25that whether you call it a residual thing or
- 24:30something else Mimics are tied. To time. In some
- 24:37degree. I think it's a strong possibility. Before
- 24:42this podcast. Before we started recording this
- 24:45episode. I would have never thought of it. Me
- 24:48neither. This is all raw. This is what I want.
- 24:53This podcast to always be. Raw normal conversations.
- 24:57This is why we don't come with. I mean, obviously,
- 25:00if we see an article or read something in a book,
- 25:03we're going to bring it, but this is just our
- 25:07raw... I want to bring up something that physically
- 25:15mimics us. Like, example, when I've done the
- 25:24trespass exercise a few times, I physically...
- 25:28saw myself age and saw myself as like a older
- 25:3270ish year old lady or something but it was still
- 25:35me and then you also Ben that one time you had
- 25:39that bad dream you also saw me as an old lady
- 25:42that was like something was mimicking me my physical
- 25:47features and so you know that's all connected
- 25:51so and that's all So, like, mannequin doesn't
- 25:58necessarily have to just be voice. It can be,
- 26:01like, an actual physical whatever as well. Actually,
- 26:06I don't even know. Did we ever talk? We did multiple
- 26:09times. I don't even know. I couldn't tell you
- 26:10what episode this was on. But long story short,
- 26:13there was this terrible dream right before the
- 26:15Midwest Weird Fest where we showed the original
- 26:18film, Dweller, which at some point the director's
- 26:22cut is going to come back out. And be streaming,
- 26:26so it'll be fun to drop that. But anyways, right
- 26:31before we screened it in Wisconsin, I had this
- 26:35terrible dream where I saw The Dweller again
- 26:37for the third time. And right as I was staring
- 26:43at the scariest thing I've ever seen, jump scare,
- 26:46old Angela, 70 -year -old Angela, staring at
- 26:50me, smiling, like with a knowing... grin, being
- 26:54like, do you know who I am? You know who I am.
- 26:57And it was absolutely terrifying. That's kind
- 27:00of underselling how terrible the dream was, but
- 27:02we... No, we talked about that on, um... We talked
- 27:06about it a few times. We talked about it a few
- 27:09times. I think on the Owls episode, right? Was
- 27:13it Owls? I don't remember. Maybe a little bit.
- 27:16I think it was the Owls episode. Maybe it was
- 27:18the Dreams episode. Yes! Okay, so episode 10?
- 27:23of this podcast dreams in the paranormal and
- 27:27then i swear the episode right after about owls
- 27:29i i vaguely remember that being like an episode
- 27:33i was like tuning out half the time being like
- 27:34why are you talking about owls and then we started
- 27:37talking about like the dweller again anyways
- 27:40um yes because that's directly placing your mimic
- 27:47angela with the dweller on the threshold which
- 27:50is a Like I said, often tied with your double,
- 27:55with your, you know, shadow. And this was a literal
- 27:59shadow that your doppelganger blocked. So you
- 28:04blocked the view of your shadow. Oh, I didn't,
- 28:08I wasn't aware that I blocked the view of the,
- 28:11of the dweller. Yeah, now I'm getting flashbacks
- 28:14of this. God damn it, Angela. I'm sorry. I got
- 28:17flashbacks too from the fucking mill because
- 28:19of the whole 7 and Madison popping up. This is
- 28:23our past horrors. Now we're getting scary. The
- 28:26mimics are supposed to be scary and a little
- 28:28unnerving. They are scary. It's very unnerving.
- 28:31I don't think I've ever once had a pleasant mimic
- 28:38situation. The one that just happened at the
- 28:42state house was the most pleasant one. Okay.
- 28:49This is what I expected this episode to be. It's
- 28:51like, it's so scary. It's not pleasant. And then
- 28:54like the first half of the episode, you're trying
- 28:56on some like bravado or whatever. And this kind
- 28:59of, I say the rug is being pulled out under you,
- 29:02Angela. It was the most closest thing to pleasant.
- 29:06Not, it was pleasant. I guess the point being
- 29:10though, at the end of the day is like, these
- 29:12things are related. these weird moments where
- 29:15there's time being altered where we're making
- 29:19films we're doing things where we're dealing
- 29:21with concepts like the dweller that are very
- 29:25much about your double right and we're making
- 29:29a film about that of course we're gonna have
- 29:31mimic encounters around that that uh that that
- 29:35film and that time of our lives i'm not saying
- 29:38that i saw the dweller on the threshold the occult
- 29:42symbol is actually this entity out to murder
- 29:46me in my sleep that's not what i'm saying i'm
- 29:48saying it makes sense i encountered a mimic type
- 29:51of thing and we all encounter mimic stuff when
- 29:54we're dealing with with that concept and making
- 29:59a film about it because i think making a film
- 30:00about anything could have us fucking with time
- 30:04and um even piercini we had mimics state house
- 30:10all of this is breaking my brain like it's all
- 30:16that is so all of it is i'm gonna need a lot
- 30:24of memories suddenly this is breaking my mind
- 30:29this is breaking my mind yeah god Also, ironically,
- 30:35for this episode, I have no idea how long we've
- 30:39been talking. I don't know what time we started
- 30:42at. I don't know. I don't know what time we started
- 30:44either. So since our brains are broken, we'll
- 30:48move into final thoughts. We probably could keep
- 30:51talking about it, but like... We'll come back
- 30:54to it. I'm way too overwhelmed now. Yeah. I don't
- 30:58know. I'm just... I feel like a... My whole thoughts
- 31:07on, like, just because of this one conversation,
- 31:11my whole thoughts on paranormal activity and
- 31:16ghosts and everything is slightly shifting. And
- 31:20I don't like that. It's when things like this
- 31:24happens. It really shifts your perspective. It
- 31:28really does. Because Ben's statement of I don't
- 31:33believe in intelligent hauntings anymore is sounding
- 31:36more and more plausible. Everything does really
- 31:45seem... Is it residual? Could it actually be
- 31:49residual? Could it be residual? I'm glad it took
- 31:5540 episodes to make one singular sentence make
- 31:58sense. Yeah. Yeah. I think, but that's the thing
- 32:06is too, is like this recording this episode,
- 32:11this is us coming off of our investigation from
- 32:13the state house, which a lot of the energy there
- 32:17felt like it was residual. Yeah. Like I've never
- 32:20had a location. That's just our experience. Other
- 32:25people may have experienced other things. To
- 32:27us, the hauntings there felt very residual. And
- 32:31I've never had an experience like that. And it
- 32:35makes sense now. This one thing I always thought
- 32:37was an outlier of Angela's voice coming through.
- 32:40But it makes sense, though, if it's so residual.
- 32:43And maybe then, we were debating the whole night,
- 32:46how do you even investigate a residual haunting?
- 32:51Maybe the best thing to do is just to engage
- 32:54with it. Put your energy there. And the more
- 32:57you investigate, the more likely you are to be
- 33:00encountering something, even if it's yourself.
- 33:03Mm -hmm. I don't know. I don't know. And then,
- 33:08oh, all the... Okay, you want me to break your
- 33:10brains again? No. Yes. Most of the activity we
- 33:14were having happen at the State House. We caught
- 33:17some EVPs. We... Some really cool VPs. We caught
- 33:22this weird thing happening on camera in the basement
- 33:24with the infrared light. It looked like a shadow
- 33:27passed in front of it. The main thing we had
- 33:29happen was we would knock and then something
- 33:34knocked back to us. But also, we were knocking
- 33:38all night. Could that have been our residual
- 33:43energy? Could that be either mimicking the knock
- 33:46or be us knocking? that then us knocking again
- 33:51triggers that memory imprint you see what i mean
- 33:55maybe dealing with residual hauntings you just
- 33:57got to engage with it and the more you knock
- 33:59the more likely you are to hear one of your knocks
- 34:01again later in the night but the only thing i
- 34:03could say is did knocking only happen after we
- 34:09knocked it never happened randomly but again
- 34:14the point is After we knocked. We got there and
- 34:17before we started investigating, no knocking.
- 34:19After we started knocking to enlist responses,
- 34:22then we would occasionally hear a knock. Coincidence?
- 34:27Makes you think. My brain hurts. Now I'm tired.
- 34:33You made me think about things. Heaven forbid.
- 34:37Heaven forbid you made me lose my brain. God
- 34:41dang it. God, Ben. Gosh. Thinking. You're the
- 34:48worst. Sorry. Please never say that like that
- 34:56ever again. Okay. Anything else? No. I think
- 35:08I scared you guys off from everything Simon says
- 35:11again. I need a nap. All right. Good night, everybody.
