- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome back to the Almost Famous podcast today.
- 0:08Speaker 2: This week we had two episodes of Joey season, so
- 0:11Speaker 2: we're here to recap episode five. Ben, I don't have
- 0:15Speaker 2: much to say about this episode, Like, I don't have
- 0:17Speaker 2: many opinions. It's just kind of how it was to me.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Can you can you explain more? Please?
- 0:25Speaker 2: The past couple of weeks have had so many opinions
- 0:27Speaker 2: in so many ways that I feel like we can
- 0:28Speaker 2: interpret this and then like this, I was just like, Okay,
- 0:32Speaker 2: nice date, Okay, he really likes her, Okay, Lea is uh.
- 0:37Speaker 4: She's getting cringey.
- 0:39Speaker 2: But like, I don't have a ton to like interpret
- 0:42Speaker 2: except for like maybe again questioning like the whole like
- 0:46Speaker 2: Maria thing because now just doesn't like her.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well that's fine, And this is how I
- 0:52Speaker 3: think we're gonna go about this episode. Then I'm gonna
- 0:54Speaker 3: ask you some questions that I want you to answer.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, it's always me on the bought this season.
- 1:01Speaker 3: I don't have to do. We don't have if you
- 1:02Speaker 3: you said you don't have anything to say, and so.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I feel like Okay, fine, you're gonna try and make
- 1:05Speaker 2: me have opinions. It's fine, have go ahead, go ahead.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I don't want you to feel on the spot, though,
- 1:10Speaker 2: But like, can I just say that I think he's
- 1:13Speaker 2: one of the greatest bachelors ever.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Oh, I think that's very I think that's very true.
- 1:18Speaker 2: He is so good, he's good's so easy to watch,
- 1:22Speaker 2: he's so cute, he's smiley, he's engaging. The way he
- 1:27Speaker 2: looks at the girls like it's just I'm sorry to
- 1:30Speaker 2: the past few bachelors, but like this is just such
- 1:33Speaker 2: a breath of fresh air.
- 1:35Speaker 3: No, I completely agree. I think that's why you see
- 1:39Speaker 3: the ratings going up. I think the show is now
- 1:44Speaker 3: going to take a lesson learned and said we cannot
- 1:46Speaker 3: continue like not.
- 1:49Speaker 4: We have to listen to the audience.
- 1:51Speaker 3: That's it. You have to listen to the audience. The
- 1:53Speaker 3: audience actually cares who they're going to be following each
- 1:55Speaker 3: week and who they're going to be rooting for. And
- 1:57Speaker 3: you just can't throw anybody in that spot. And I
- 2:00Speaker 3: hope that you make him likable.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, like he's carrying this show. The girls are great,
- 2:05Speaker 2: But you know how a lot of the times they
- 2:06Speaker 2: say like the Bachelor season is carried by the girls.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that he's the star still, oh.
- 2:11Speaker 3: One hundred percent. I was just talking to him yesterday
- 2:14Speaker 3: and I told him, well, he had asked if i'd
- 2:18Speaker 3: watch episodes and I said yes, and I said, hey,
- 2:21Speaker 3: you're doing great, man like, and we talked about some
- 2:23Speaker 3: other stuff that I won't get into, but I said, like,
- 2:27Speaker 3: now's the time. And we've talked a lot Joey and
- 2:29Speaker 3: I about what this looks like, like how does he
- 2:33Speaker 3: want this to go forward for him? Not in terms
- 2:36Speaker 3: of opportunity and fame and social media and all that,
- 2:38Speaker 3: but like who is he now to Bachelor Nation? And
- 2:41Speaker 3: how does he want to have a relationship with the
- 2:43Speaker 3: show or not a relationship with the show, and how
- 2:46Speaker 3: does he want to lead? And last night I think
- 2:48Speaker 3: I said the exact line to him. I said, right now,
- 2:51Speaker 3: like you have the really cool opportunity where you are
- 2:53Speaker 3: the leader of this show. It is not the villain,
- 2:56Speaker 3: It is not the most loveled loved character where some
- 2:59Speaker 3: sea since that it. You know, that's who we're kind
- 3:01Speaker 3: of watching and that's who's leading. Said, you are the
- 3:04Speaker 3: leader of this show, and so what are you going
- 3:06Speaker 3: to do with that, you know, how are you going
- 3:07Speaker 3: to care for these people? And uh, he's great. I
- 3:11Speaker 3: mean I've really I you know this off you know, Mike,
- 3:16Speaker 3: I've had some really bad experiences with some recent bachelors
- 3:19Speaker 3: in just terms of how they've you know, and I
- 3:23Speaker 3: don't want them all to reach out if they don't
- 3:24Speaker 3: want my advice or help or support. I don't you
- 3:27Speaker 3: know that that's fine, But just the things they've said,
- 3:30Speaker 3: the decisions they've made, the way they've talked about the experience.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And Joey's like the opposite of all that. He's I
- 3:39Speaker 3: feel really good about what life looks like for him,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and I think this is only going to be a
- 3:43Speaker 3: thing to enhance his life. Yeah, so I've I've enjoyed it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I like watching him. I'm a big fan of him.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I'm happy for all of us.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I'm happy for all of us that we have somebody
- 3:52Speaker 3: who were cheering for And uh, I do have opinions
- 3:56Speaker 3: about this episode. Okay, So I don't want to put
- 3:59Speaker 3: you on the spot. I don't want you to feel
- 4:00Speaker 3: like that, Ashley, because.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I'm kind of kidding.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I want to know how it feels for
- 4:07Speaker 3: you with watching an episode and now breaking it down
- 4:10Speaker 3: without Sydney here, like, is this a breath of fresh
- 4:12Speaker 3: air for you? Or is it sad for you? Like?
- 4:16Speaker 3: How are you feeling emotionally walking into this recording?
- 4:19Speaker 4: Oh, I feel like a pretty relieved.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I feel relieved for Sydney that she's gone and she
- 4:24Speaker 2: doesn't have to go through watching any more of these
- 4:26Speaker 2: episodes with the audience, And I feel relieved that.
- 4:31Speaker 4: For me and not having to, you.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Know, dance try to figure out you had to dance
- 4:37Speaker 2: at what to say, what not to say?
- 4:39Speaker 4: Yeah, and dance is a good way of putting it, okay,
- 4:42Speaker 4: And then.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I just it's interesting the way that I do feel
- 4:47Speaker 2: like Leah kind of took over for Sydney, sure, but
- 4:50Speaker 2: with a totally different vibe.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Okay, So let's break down this episode from really the
- 4:59Speaker 3: start and so this started this episode. I do agree
- 5:01Speaker 3: with you that it didn't have the action as maybe
- 5:04Speaker 3: other episodes this season. We do start with a one
- 5:07Speaker 3: on one date.
- 5:09Speaker 4: It wasn't boring. I'll say that it was not.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Boring with Kelsey A in a quick note here, you
- 5:14Speaker 3: know how you know the Bachelor knows it's gonna be
- 5:18Speaker 3: a good season.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Oh, does the Bachelor know it's gonna be a good
- 5:21Speaker 4: season is.
- 5:22Speaker 3: When they do two back to back nights, because there's
- 5:27Speaker 3: been seasons where they've never done that because they don't
- 5:29Speaker 3: have enough content to share. I do feel like they
- 5:32Speaker 3: had enough content. This did not feel like they were
- 5:34Speaker 3: stretching out stuff a lot longer than they should have.
- 5:37Speaker 3: It felt like, yeah, it makes sense on why we
- 5:39Speaker 3: needed two nights of The Bachelor this week.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Well, they were only eliminating He only eliminated two girls
- 5:45Speaker 2: at the roast ceremony for the past two weeks, two
- 5:48Speaker 2: episodes now, So yeah, it does feel a little bit
- 5:50Speaker 2: stretched out, and yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Everything's great, Okay. Kelsey A has the first one on one.
- 5:57Speaker 4: He's obsessed with her.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah, this is one that we've been looking forward too.
- 6:00Speaker 3: She has been the quiet, confident, you know, top three
- 6:07Speaker 3: or for us since the beginning. You know, there's been
- 6:12Speaker 3: the music playing, the sparkle in their eyes. But we
- 6:15Speaker 3: haven't seen a lot from her, but we see obviously
- 6:17Speaker 3: her and Joey going on one on one this week.
- 6:20Speaker 3: They are in Spain, another beautiful place. If you want
- 6:23Speaker 3: to talk about somebody being lucky, talk about Joey having
- 6:27Speaker 3: the two so far best travel spots of any bachelor ever.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Well, you've never been to Malta. You're just now obsessed
- 6:36Speaker 4: with Malta.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I think it's awesome. I want to know.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Spain is obviously beautiful as well.
- 6:41Speaker 3: You went to Vegas.
- 6:42Speaker 2: But yeah, I know you didn't have the best one either.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But Zach had a really good one last year too.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah he did. But this is two great spots, very beautiful.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Kelsey and Joey go on this date. It is I
- 6:57Speaker 3: would say, exactly what I thought it would meaning. There
- 7:01Speaker 3: is in compared to Yesterday or the Monday's episodes one
- 7:08Speaker 3: on one with Lexi, this night and day, Night and Day,
- 7:13Speaker 3: when it comes to connection in my opinion, right, yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 3: Night and Day.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I was directly comparing them when I was watching, just
- 7:20Speaker 2: because at first I put those two girls very close
- 7:22Speaker 2: together in the rankings. Yeah, and now after saying this
- 7:25Speaker 2: is just totally different.
- 7:27Speaker 3: There is a comfort, there's a flirtation. There is that hey,
- 7:30Speaker 3: I can't keep my hands off of you kind of thing.
- 7:33Speaker 3: It's a very beautiful day. It does feel like a
- 7:36Speaker 3: front Runner date to me, where she obviously shares the
- 7:40Speaker 3: story of her life and the story of her mother
- 7:45Speaker 3: and I know her mother means so much to her.
- 7:48Speaker 3: You can tell just in the words that she's saying
- 7:50Speaker 3: and the things that she's feeling and thinking. There isn't
- 7:55Speaker 3: for me a lot of Like you know, I always
- 7:57Speaker 3: tend to analyze into these conversations way more than most
- 8:01Speaker 3: people want to or they care to listen to. There
- 8:03Speaker 3: wasn't a lot of analyzation here for me other than
- 8:06Speaker 3: these are two people that probably really care about each
- 8:08Speaker 3: other having a really nice date together.
- 8:10Speaker 2: See That's what I meant at the top of the episode,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and I said there wasn't much to interpret, Like, there
- 8:14Speaker 2: just wasn't much to analyze because everything was just nice, good,
- 8:18Speaker 2: a lot of courage, the sadness of the story.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Of course, isn't it interesting Ashley that every season? You know,
- 8:28Speaker 3: I just spoke at a church in Charlotte last week,
- 8:31Speaker 3: and one of the things that I spoke about, because
- 8:36Speaker 3: of kind of the structure of what the event was,
- 8:38Speaker 3: was every human has a story, and you say that
- 8:41Speaker 3: with words, and sometimes it doesn't fully compute or feel real.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And then yesterday, obviously we talked about the messages Sydney
- 8:50Speaker 3: was receiving, and obviously those messages are coming from people
- 8:53Speaker 3: also experiencing some sort of pain somewhere somehow in their life,
- 8:58Speaker 3: and these contestants, everyone of them. Every season they sit
- 9:01Speaker 3: down and they share their life story, and there's like
- 9:06Speaker 3: it just reminds me of the depth of life, the
- 9:08Speaker 3: good and the bads and the complexities. Everybody has something
- 9:11Speaker 3: that's shaped them to be who they are today, and
- 9:13Speaker 3: I think it takes a lot of courage to share
- 9:15Speaker 3: those things on national television. But I also think it's
- 9:18Speaker 3: pretty incredible to watch because I'm assuming there's a lot
- 9:21Speaker 3: of people out there who are probably watching Kelsey explain
- 9:24Speaker 3: this to Joey and being like, I'm right there with you,
- 9:27Speaker 3: Like I you know, I've lost my mother, I've lost
- 9:31Speaker 3: my father, I've lost somebody I love, And I'm watching
- 9:34Speaker 3: you do this with confidence but also still trying to
- 9:37Speaker 3: make the best out of your life, and I feel
- 9:39Speaker 3: less alone. I think it's really an incredible piece of
- 9:41Speaker 3: the show that I enjoy that I would argue we
- 9:44Speaker 3: got away from for years. We did not get the
- 9:48Speaker 3: expanse of human story that I want to watch on
- 9:52Speaker 3: this show. Yeah, it was replaced with drama.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but we've always gotten the story, like the the
- 10:00Speaker 2: they never let these kinds of stories slip.
- 10:02Speaker 3: I feel no, but we would get like maybe two
- 10:04Speaker 3: or three of them a season. Right now, every date
- 10:07Speaker 3: Joey's been on, these women are courageous. They are sharing
- 10:11Speaker 3: their hearts and we're getting to watch it. I'm not
- 10:13Speaker 3: saying that they haven't been courageous in the past. The
- 10:15Speaker 3: show just hasn't been showing him every year. Remember, we
- 10:18Speaker 3: watch and we say, I feel like I'm not connected
- 10:20Speaker 3: with any of these characters because I don't know him yet.
- 10:22Speaker 3: We're four weeks into this thing, and I feel like
- 10:25Speaker 3: I know, I know, I.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Do, I feel like most of them. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.
- 10:39Speaker 2: You know what's interesting that I've noticed watching the past
- 10:42Speaker 2: couple episodes is that, like the Bachelor is just always
- 10:46Speaker 2: the conductor in these conversations. I kind of wish that,
- 10:49Speaker 2: like I know it happens at the dinner table, but
- 10:53Speaker 2: I wish that we could see him share some of
- 10:55Speaker 2: his life with the girls as well. It's kind of
- 10:58Speaker 2: assumed that we already feel connected to him, but like,
- 11:01Speaker 2: I would love to get a story from Joey every episode.
- 11:04Speaker 3: I agree like him be vulnerable.
- 11:06Speaker 4: We like him so much.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and maybe we see that towards the end this year,
- 11:11Speaker 3: as he gets down to the final two or three,
- 11:14Speaker 3: maybe he starts to open up about his life's experiences.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I don't know yet, but I think they're also just
- 11:21Speaker 3: banking on the fact that people love Joey and they
- 11:22Speaker 3: don't really care if they know him or not. They
- 11:24Speaker 3: find him attractive and they have his shirt off a lot,
- 11:26Speaker 3: so it all works out.
- 11:28Speaker 4: He's so Tan, the Tan does him really well.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so the day with Kelsey goes great, then we
- 11:33Speaker 3: have a group date. Portant note for me in this
- 11:36Speaker 3: moment is I really want to see Kelsey t have
- 11:38Speaker 3: a one on one. Why Because I think she is
- 11:40Speaker 3: awesome and she has been and I think Joey recognizes it.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I'm assuming we'll see one on one next week with her,
- 11:47Speaker 3: But she's been a front runner. She's beautiful, she's charismatic,
- 11:51Speaker 3: she's vulnerable with him, she's trying her best, and I
- 11:54Speaker 3: really do think she's getting that like raw under the
- 11:56Speaker 3: deal where she's just getting pushed back in weeks and weeks.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Because I think he's confident in the relationship enough to
- 12:03Speaker 3: say I don't need to go on one on one
- 12:04Speaker 3: yet to know if I want to keep you or not,
- 12:08Speaker 3: but I really wanted to see her this week. I'm
- 12:10Speaker 3: excited to see her on a one on one. She
- 12:11Speaker 3: is a front runner for me, She's definitely a front runner.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It might be one of those situations where it's like
- 12:18Speaker 2: he really likes her, but then like by the time
- 12:20Speaker 2: he gets to her, it's like too little, too late.
- 12:23Speaker 3: That'll be sad.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I know it'll be sad because I do feel like
- 12:26Speaker 2: when you look at the group and I feel like
- 12:28Speaker 2: half the group hasn't had one on ones, She's the
- 12:31Speaker 2: one in the wings, She's on deck. Definitely, she's the
- 12:35Speaker 2: most obvious one next. I was thinking that she possibly
- 12:37Speaker 2: was going to get it over Rachel this episode, but
- 12:40Speaker 2: I think Rachel getting it first makes sense because we
- 12:44Speaker 2: saw his connection with Rachel first, and I think the
- 12:46Speaker 2: past couple weeks we've seen the Kelsey one continue. But
- 12:50Speaker 2: it definitely looks like she's getting a one on one soon.
- 12:53Speaker 3: If she doesn't, I think it's very confusing for everybody involved.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I would agree with you. I think you have said
- 13:00Speaker 3: some of these women haven't had one on ones. She's
- 13:01Speaker 3: definitely the one that stands out. I know Jess feels
- 13:03Speaker 3: like she desperately needs one on one. She's not gonna
- 13:07Speaker 3: get one.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I don't think she's gonna get one.
- 13:08Speaker 3: She's not gonna get one.
- 13:09Speaker 4: No, she has not getting a one on one written
- 13:11Speaker 4: all over her.
- 13:12Speaker 3: This was the start of her spiral.
- 13:14Speaker 4: This is it.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I saw that he isn't there, He's not feeling it
- 13:20Speaker 2: in this episode. I could tell based on his facial
- 13:23Speaker 2: expression when she was the one that won.
- 13:25Speaker 3: The art date. Yeah, so obviously they have this group date.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Rachel is left back at the house. Everybody else goes
- 13:34Speaker 3: on a group date. It's a cool group date. They
- 13:36Speaker 3: paint again. I think these dates this year have been fun.
- 13:39Speaker 3: They haven't been super awkward to watch. I would let
- 13:42Speaker 3: my you know, teenager watch a lot of these dates.
- 13:46Speaker 3: There isn't like these aren't just like weird, obnoxiously like
- 13:51Speaker 3: gross dates. These are good dates. So they do the
- 13:54Speaker 3: painting and Jess does win it. It's a great painting
- 13:56Speaker 3: she has with a great story. And then they have
- 13:59Speaker 3: some alone time to get there, you know, painting each
- 14:02Speaker 3: other up. It does feel like this was one of
- 14:08Speaker 3: those like Grit and Barrett kind of moments for him,
- 14:11Speaker 3: not because he's not into her, not because she's not great,
- 14:14Speaker 3: but it just doesn't feel as comfortable as some of
- 14:18Speaker 3: the other dates.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Between this and last week the night before is Autumn
- 14:25Speaker 2: getting picked as the winner of the group date. It
- 14:29Speaker 2: really made me feel like, oh, the person that's hosting
- 14:32Speaker 2: the date is choosing the winner for him. There's nothing
- 14:35Speaker 2: about him whispering to producers being like I want it
- 14:37Speaker 2: to be her.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I never got to do that, really, I never got
- 14:41Speaker 3: to say, hey, I mean, sometimes it was obvious it
- 14:44Speaker 3: would be an athletic performance, and.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Well sometimes it's a win, like yeah, because when I
- 14:47Speaker 2: won the tractor date, I actually won the race.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah. But when it's subjective, like it's it's up to
- 14:54Speaker 3: somebody else, I don't even know who you would have chosen.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Really, yeah, it kind of stinks.
- 15:00Speaker 3: You're like, this is.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Always considered the winner of the challenge on the group
- 15:04Speaker 2: date to sort of be like the runner up for
- 15:06Speaker 2: the rose the group date, right, Not no.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Not even close.
- 15:11Speaker 2: But I mean I knew with Autumn that wasn't the case,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and I knew with Jess that wasn't the case.
- 15:15Speaker 4: So well, thanks for clearing that up.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah. I never I never remember getting any say when
- 15:20Speaker 3: there is a judge or somebody else.
- 15:23Speaker 1: You know.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Sometimes I always felt like they were the judges, maybe
- 15:27Speaker 3: were influenced because it would play into a storyline. But
- 15:31Speaker 3: then there are moments where I'd be like, no, there
- 15:33Speaker 3: was no influence there. This makes no sense. How is
- 15:35Speaker 3: this person the one winning this day? This? This is confusing.
- 15:40Speaker 3: So but Jess does win. They go to the cocktail party,
- 15:43Speaker 3: which is really where the kind of the climax of
- 15:46Speaker 3: the episode occurs, because Jess just starts to get like
- 15:55Speaker 3: i'd say, like annoyed that she's not getting more time
- 15:58Speaker 3: with Joey right.
- 15:59Speaker 4: At the this cocktail party.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I think that's where, don't know, isn't that where this
- 16:03Speaker 3: kind of starts her expressing her just issue with not
- 16:10Speaker 3: more time, wanting more time, needing more time.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yeah, blanking on her moment.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Though, I think it was just kind of the itms
- 16:18Speaker 3: and the undertones of her Okay, okay, okay. I don't
- 16:20Speaker 3: think there was like a moment where she freaked out.
- 16:22Speaker 3: But Maria does receive the rose, which is not shocking
- 16:26Speaker 3: to me because again I feel like Maria outside of
- 16:29Speaker 3: everything else. Okay, take away, you know what we think
- 16:32Speaker 3: is going on behind the scenes, If there is some
- 16:36Speaker 3: stuff being said that we're not watching or seeing when
- 16:38Speaker 3: it comes to Maria and Joey in an isolated event,
- 16:41Speaker 3: she is doing a great job at making sure she
- 16:44Speaker 3: is known and seen and they are connecting. I know
- 16:49Speaker 3: she's really likable.
- 16:50Speaker 4: She is likable.
- 16:51Speaker 3: She's very likable. And Joey remembers her.
- 16:55Speaker 4: Yeah, the story.
- 16:56Speaker 2: That she shared about getting in the car crush with
- 16:59Speaker 2: her mom was like really heavy.
- 17:03Speaker 3: You know, something came to mind and I don't know
- 17:07Speaker 3: if we've ever talked about it. I don't know how
- 17:09Speaker 3: to word it in a way that maybe makes sense,
- 17:13Speaker 3: So I'll just say what I was thinking at this
- 17:16Speaker 3: point in time. Again, a lot of courage, a lot
- 17:20Speaker 3: of vulnerability from these women right now. But we also
- 17:23Speaker 3: have to think about how hard it is for Joey.
- 17:26Speaker 3: I remember sitting in those moments and you care so
- 17:29Speaker 3: much about the women that are there. And I know
- 17:32Speaker 3: Joey had a very like good attitude saying, Hey, these
- 17:36Speaker 3: women are giving up piece of their life for me
- 17:38Speaker 3: to try this out. But at this point in time,
- 17:41Speaker 3: he's five weeks in four weeks in whatever we are,
- 17:46Speaker 3: and every day of his life for four weeks, he's
- 17:49Speaker 3: getting these stories that are like pulling at the heart
- 17:52Speaker 3: strings that are opening up a whole new space of
- 17:57Speaker 3: you know, care in his in his life, and he's
- 18:01Speaker 3: sitting in these I'm assuming and I remember, like you
- 18:04Speaker 3: get pretty tired. Not that you're over it, you're still
- 18:08Speaker 3: in it and you still care and you still want
- 18:09Speaker 3: to care. But how many times can you go to
- 18:13Speaker 3: bed at night and be like, I cannot believe that
- 18:15Speaker 3: Maria went through something like that. I cannot believe Kelsey
- 18:18Speaker 3: went through something like that. I can't believe Rachel went
- 18:20Speaker 3: through something like that. Like it's hard, it's very emotionally.
- 18:24Speaker 2: For somebody like you, like so empathetic. You must have
- 18:28Speaker 2: been caring so much on your heart.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Well and Joey, I know, Joey, We've talked about it.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Joey cares a lot. And you don't want to dismiss
- 18:36Speaker 3: these conversations. You don't just want to be the person,
- 18:39Speaker 3: not the bachelor, but the person that just sits there
- 18:41Speaker 3: and shakes their head. And it's like that's had to
- 18:43Speaker 3: be so hard for you and you don't really like
- 18:45Speaker 3: feel it with him.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Like how do you respond? He does a great job
- 18:49Speaker 4: at it. Well, I it's giving almost like.
- 18:51Speaker 2: You can't like even start to like react to something
- 18:56Speaker 2: as emotional as some of these stories.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Well, I think for Joey it's I mean, I think
- 19:00Speaker 3: it's eye contact, and I think it's him being in
- 19:03Speaker 3: the moment.
- 19:03Speaker 4: It means a lot. He's great at it.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Yeah, sitting and listening, not necessarily trying to fix it,
- 19:11Speaker 3: but just understanding that this is a sacred moment. But
- 19:15Speaker 3: it's taxing on somebody who what's the word that when
- 19:20Speaker 3: they like, they like live, like they feel deeply for
- 19:25Speaker 3: other people, like impath, Yeah, like an impath. Like it's
- 19:29Speaker 3: it's really hard for him, I'm assuming, and it does
- 19:33Speaker 3: get tiring because you don't know how to hold space
- 19:38Speaker 3: for all everybody in all these stories.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I can't imagine.
- 19:42Speaker 3: So, but Maria does share a story. She does receive
- 19:45Speaker 3: the rose, not shocking to me. I think I think
- 19:47Speaker 3: she probably deserved that rose outside of everything else. She
- 19:50Speaker 3: very much gave her best effort and she got the rose.
- 19:56Speaker 3: And then we move on to Rachel's date, which is
- 19:57Speaker 3: a one on one. Rachel been somebody actually you've been
- 20:01Speaker 3: really high on really since the beginning. You think that
- 20:03Speaker 3: she has a great connection with Joey. You've seen their
- 20:07Speaker 3: joy around each other, so you're probably looking forward to
- 20:12Speaker 3: this date kind of What was your response.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Well, yeah, ever since that date where it was the
- 20:17Speaker 2: group date and they had the wedding dance and they
- 20:19Speaker 2: had honestly barely talked at that point, but you could
- 20:22Speaker 2: like really feel the connection there.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought of her.
- 20:25Speaker 2: As a front runner, and this day was kind of
- 20:29Speaker 2: like more of the same. They danced again and that
- 20:32Speaker 2: was that was cute. Him with his boots and you
- 20:38Speaker 2: can just it's kind of the way that he looks
- 20:39Speaker 2: at her too, and then during the dinner conversation about
- 20:43Speaker 2: her being an icy U nurse, like you can just
- 20:45Speaker 2: tell that, Like, I think he's really considering a future
- 20:48Speaker 2: with her.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I think it was a very cute date outside of
- 20:52Speaker 3: everything else, right, it was a very well done date.
- 20:56Speaker 3: The the two of them obviously have a great connection.
- 21:00Speaker 3: They're obviously very attracted to each other.
- 21:03Speaker 4: It's not the same as the Kelsey date.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Though, No, but it was good in its own way. Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 3: it was good in its own way. I enjoyed it.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I think Rachel is still up there at the top
- 21:15Speaker 3: of my list. We'll do rankings here at the end
- 21:17Speaker 3: of the episode, but this date is very much for me.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Overshadowed kind of by the end of the episode Cocktail Party,
- 21:27Speaker 3: where the Jess Maria Leyah situation kind.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Of goes down, not to mention that Leya during the
- 21:36Speaker 2: group date couldn't stop saying like this group date would
- 21:41Speaker 2: be better if Maria wasn't on it.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I can't stand Maria La La Lah.
- 21:44Speaker 2: And again, I'm just like, I need to know why
- 21:47Speaker 2: you guys hate her so much. Like we got like
- 21:50Speaker 2: a little bit of a taste though with the cocktail Party, because.
- 21:57Speaker 3: It didn't make me hate Maria.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I know. She says grow up to Jess because Jess
- 22:03Speaker 2: gets really annoyed because Maria interrupts Caitlin's time and she
- 22:08Speaker 2: already has a rose. So Jess is like, why are
- 22:11Speaker 2: you going after time with him if you already have
- 22:14Speaker 2: a rose and I haven't had any time with him
- 22:16Speaker 2: this week. Everybody, there's always a scene where somebody gets
- 22:19Speaker 2: annoyed over that. It's understandable. I'm always go back and
- 22:24Speaker 2: forth on the appropriateness of it.
- 22:26Speaker 4: I feel like.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I probably wouldn't if I had a rose. I'd probably
- 22:32Speaker 2: let everybody else talk first, even though I know that
- 22:34Speaker 2: some people have different interpretations they're like, oh, but then
- 22:37Speaker 2: you don't. Then you're like prioritizing your friendship with the
- 22:39Speaker 2: girls over your relationship with Joey blah blah blah.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 22:44Speaker 2: So then when Jess brings it up, Maria seemed she
- 22:47Speaker 2: seemed a little dismissive.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Then she was like, you gotta grow up, Jess.
- 22:50Speaker 2: And then Jess didn't help herself though, when she said
- 22:54Speaker 2: you gotta grow.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Up, bitch. You know, I know, here's the weirdest thing
- 23:12Speaker 3: right now because I am sensing that, yes, Maria is
- 23:18Speaker 3: rubbing a few people the wrong way.
- 23:20Speaker 2: And I just don't think they're showing it. I think
- 23:23Speaker 2: it must exist.
- 23:25Speaker 3: But it's Leah, it's Jess, it's Sydney at this point
- 23:28Speaker 3: that we know of, Okay, it's those three. That's the
- 23:31Speaker 3: people that we know are very annoyed. And those people
- 23:33Speaker 3: are very annoyed, like to the point where they're breaking
- 23:37Speaker 3: because of whatever is happening. Yeah, but here's the weirdest
- 23:41Speaker 3: side to me. As you're in the same room with
- 23:44Speaker 3: these women all the time, everybody's seeing pretty much everything
- 23:47Speaker 3: else that's going down. A lot of these women seem
- 23:50Speaker 3: very much not annoyed, very okay with Maria, very friendly
- 23:55Speaker 3: with Maria. They don't seem as hurt. Now, we've seen
- 23:59Speaker 3: it in season where there's been somebody that's really rubbed
- 24:02Speaker 3: every single human the wrong way, and it's very obvious.
- 24:06Speaker 3: So the confusing part to me is, I don't think
- 24:08Speaker 3: we've ever seen a situation where one person has really
- 24:14Speaker 3: disrupted a few and the rest are really cool with it.
- 24:18Speaker 3: So what is happening, Like, what is your assumption based
- 24:22Speaker 3: on living in this house, going through this experience, what
- 24:25Speaker 3: could be happening where there is only a few that
- 24:28Speaker 3: are very, very upset and others who don't seem the
- 24:33Speaker 3: care I don't really know.
- 24:35Speaker 2: It's not like she has the top connection with them
- 24:38Speaker 2: in the house, So it's not like they're going after
- 24:40Speaker 2: her because she's number one.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, maybe they think she is at this point.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know who they would think would
- 24:48Speaker 3: be above her.
- 24:50Speaker 4: They just keep saying, like, what is it that he
- 24:52Speaker 4: sees in her? Like blah blah blah.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yeah, again, there's a select few that are so disrupted
- 25:00Speaker 3: that they cannot go through this experience like they're losing
- 25:02Speaker 3: their minds. They're losing their minds. And then there's how
- 25:07Speaker 3: many others left that are very comfortable in this environment
- 25:10Speaker 3: and seem very unbothered by Maria, And so I don't
- 25:15Speaker 3: know what's happening. I can't even hint at what's happening, don't.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I don't have any experience with something like this, because
- 25:24Speaker 3: usually if there is a disruptor in the house, that
- 25:28Speaker 3: spreads pretty quickly that you can feel it amongst everybody
- 25:33Speaker 3: very fast. I don't know any example where there's been
- 25:36Speaker 3: a villain or there's been a someone who has just
- 25:41Speaker 3: done it in an isolated experience with just a.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Few Well, do you think that maybe it's just a
- 25:48Speaker 2: sensitivity thing and some girls like can handle a personality
- 25:52Speaker 2: that has a little bit more edginess.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's probably what we got to point to,
- 25:59Speaker 3: where it's it's a unique personality trait that is very
- 26:02Speaker 3: much bothered by Maria. They feel threatened, they feel hurt,
- 26:12Speaker 3: they feel disrespected, and as a result, the word yeah,
- 26:17Speaker 3: and they can't They can't function then because they're being disrespected.
- 26:21Speaker 3: I do think it's a sensitivity issue. I don't know. Again,
- 26:24Speaker 3: these are assumptions that we're making, but I think that's
- 26:27Speaker 3: probably the only right now like thing that we have.
- 26:34Speaker 3: It's the only hint that we have, the only clue
- 26:36Speaker 3: that we have to what's going on. It's yes, Maria
- 26:38Speaker 3: is a unique force in the house. She's a big personality.
- 26:43Speaker 4: She has the biggest personality.
- 26:45Speaker 3: And there's a few people house that just don't handle
- 26:48Speaker 3: it well and they take offense to it. So I'm
- 26:51Speaker 3: watching this episode, I still think Leah, who takes kind
- 26:57Speaker 3: of a backseat to the drama here, I think watching
- 27:02Speaker 3: her conversation with Madina, if that conversation doesn't happen, then
- 27:06Speaker 3: I think I'm even more confused. But her conversation with
- 27:09Speaker 3: Medina was so kind of mean, really and mean spirited, yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 3: that I kind of say, Okay, I don't I can't.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I don't think I can trust that opinion.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 3: And then we move on to Jess, who's been a
- 27:23Speaker 3: very fun, bubbly personality through this season, and she's breaking
- 27:28Speaker 3: and I want to say she's breaking Ashley because of
- 27:31Speaker 3: what we see most seasons. She's breaking because she's not
- 27:33Speaker 3: good enough time with Joey. She feels like she's falling behind.
- 27:36Speaker 3: She wants to catch up, she doesn't feel an opportunity
- 27:39Speaker 3: to catch up. And then Maria steps in and interrupts time,
- 27:44Speaker 3: and I can't have a problem with it.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I don't have a problem with it.
- 27:49Speaker 2: I just don't think that I would do it. But again,
- 27:51Speaker 2: I'm not really sure. I can't have a problem with it.
- 27:54Speaker 2: It's the game. You have to play the game. And
- 27:58Speaker 2: I think it's kind of like with Jess, you know
- 28:01Speaker 2: how like I love you know, I'm sure there are
- 28:04Speaker 2: people out there that understand this. You know, when you're
- 28:06Speaker 2: like crying over something and then like you're crying, then
- 28:09Speaker 2: just all of a sudden, you start feeling sad about
- 28:10Speaker 2: all the other things, and like something else crosses your
- 28:13Speaker 2: mind and you start crying about that.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Yeah, and I do.
- 28:16Speaker 4: I think that's kind of what's happening.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah, And it just happens to be pointed at Maria
- 28:20Speaker 3: because Maria was the She's the culprit to the interruption.
- 28:25Speaker 3: She got more time, she stole Joey's time, and Jess
- 28:29Speaker 3: doesn't get any. But again, my question is why isn't
- 28:33Speaker 3: Jess getting any Is it only Maria that took up
- 28:37Speaker 3: time with Joey? No, there's a lot of other people there.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Now, Yeah, but she had the roses.
- 28:42Speaker 3: But take that out of consideration, because again, do you
- 28:44Speaker 3: really expect Maria to say, Okay, Joey's five feet away
- 28:47Speaker 3: from me, and just because I have a rose, I'm
- 28:49Speaker 3: not going to talk to him the night because I
- 28:50Speaker 3: want to give everybody else the opportunity to also connect
- 28:53Speaker 3: with him. That's ridiculous. That's not how this works. That's
- 28:56Speaker 3: there's one person standing at the end of this, and
- 28:58Speaker 3: so I can't see a problem with it. I don't
- 29:01Speaker 3: think it was disrespectful. I even feel like the way
- 29:03Speaker 3: Maria and I know I'm almost like an apologist for
- 29:07Speaker 3: her right now, but I can't. I don't have anything
- 29:12Speaker 3: negative right now to point to because even how she
- 29:14Speaker 3: interrupted was very kind.
- 29:17Speaker 4: I know she was, and Caitlin admitted that she was.
- 29:21Speaker 1: So.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Do I. That's why I'm getting confused, because obviously there's
- 29:25Speaker 3: something happening. Obviously there's words being said, there's things being
- 29:28Speaker 3: done that these women are so hurt by, but yet
- 29:30Speaker 3: we're seeing none of it, and so it makes and
- 29:33Speaker 3: I wonder if the show wanted this, but it makes
- 29:37Speaker 3: some of the women look crazy, and I don't think
- 29:40Speaker 3: that's fair to them. I don't think that's fair because
- 29:43Speaker 3: we're not seeing everything.
- 29:44Speaker 4: I know, and I still stand by this.
- 29:46Speaker 2: The thing that the fact that I think that we're
- 29:48Speaker 2: not seeing things for Maria, even though I can use
- 29:51Speaker 2: the alternate excuse of these girls are just a little
- 29:53Speaker 2: bit more sensitive than the others trying to see it
- 29:55Speaker 2: from both sides. And again, I have nothing wrong with them.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I personally, as a viewer watching just face value of
- 30:02Speaker 2: what we're seeing, don't have any problem with Maria. She.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I think that they want her to be the bachelorette
- 30:10Speaker 2: because she has the personality of someone that they enjoy
- 30:14Speaker 2: being the bachelorette, somebody who spunk, ear and strong and
- 30:20Speaker 2: la la lah. And I feel like they just are
- 30:23Speaker 2: like this, this was our pick than like the moment
- 30:25Speaker 2: we met her, So it's more important for us to
- 30:28Speaker 2: make her look good than some of these girls that'll
- 30:31Speaker 2: get eliminited early and make them look good.
- 30:33Speaker 3: So interesting, I don't know, I right now, I'm sitting
- 30:37Speaker 3: here confused. There is a lack of explanation for Jess
- 30:45Speaker 3: to freak out and say the things she said. There
- 30:50Speaker 3: had to be a lot building up because I just
- 30:51Speaker 3: don't think I haven't seen that from her yet. But
- 30:56Speaker 3: I will say this my prediction is this is the
- 31:00Speaker 3: spiral in the downfall of Jess. I think, oh yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 3: I don't think it gets any better.
- 31:07Speaker 2: We see nothing about Maria or any tension around her
- 31:11Speaker 2: in the scenes in the next episode. So I'm thinking
- 31:13Speaker 2: Jess is going to get eliminated and then all and
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think Lee will get eliminated, and I think, then
- 31:19Speaker 2: it's done.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah, And then and then maybe we do find out
- 31:22Speaker 3: because if there's somebody else that pops up out of
- 31:24Speaker 3: this whole thing and is like, you know, I have
- 31:26Speaker 3: a problem too, Okay, then we have.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Got to just understand that there's something.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's wild, Ashley, it's wild. Well, it has been
- 31:36Speaker 3: a great season so far. It's two episodes this week.
- 31:39Speaker 3: We believe there's an episode next week. I would like
- 31:41Speaker 3: to think there's an episode next week.

- 32:07Speaker 4: pretty advice.
- 32:08Speaker 3: That's not true. I think together together, we're helpful.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Together, we're good, we give it.
