- 1:06Speaker 2: plus how the krackt are getting back to square one
- 1:08Speaker 2: after a pair of overtime losses to Montreal and the
- 1:12Speaker 2: New York Rangers. Comments here for head coach Lane Lambert
- 1:16Speaker 2: on a Sunday practice at Cracken Community Ice Plex coming
- 1:20Speaker 2: up in just a bit. Flashing back to two nights ago,
- 1:23Speaker 2: the Crack end again facing a New York Rangers team
- 1:26Speaker 2: that was in a jakkal and Hyde situation. The Rangers,
- 1:30Speaker 2: struggling on home ice, have yet to win a game
- 1:33Speaker 2: at Madison Square Garden this season under new head coach
- 1:36Speaker 2: Mike Sullivan. Different story on the road, the Rangers coming
- 1:40Speaker 2: into the game five to one and one and trying
- 1:43Speaker 2: to find any last bit of an extra push. At
- 1:46Speaker 2: the end of their four game road trip, the Kracking
- 1:49Speaker 2: new they would be a handful facing the likes of
- 1:51Speaker 2: mikazabanajad Are, Timmy Paneren, Adam Fox, and goaltender Igor Schusterkin.
- 1:57Speaker 2: With plenty of storylines in tow in, including the newly
- 2:01Speaker 2: revealed Kracking alternate jerseys in game action. Plus also will
- 2:06Speaker 2: Borgan back in Seattle for the first time since he
- 2:09Speaker 2: left via trade in December, the guy the Cracking got
- 2:12Speaker 2: for him Coppocaco, basing the Rangers for the first time
- 2:16Speaker 2: since he left New York and making his season debut
- 2:19Speaker 2: after suffering a broken hand in the preseason. On top
- 2:23Speaker 2: of that, Ryan Lindgren dealt near by the trade deadline
- 2:26Speaker 2: last year, basing the Rangers for the first time since
- 2:30Speaker 2: leaving Broadway. Plenty to get to here, as far as
- 2:33Speaker 2: how this one unfolded in her highlights with ever written
- 2:37Speaker 2: now on the call.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Here come the Rangers back in. Sam Carrick right side
- 2:41Speaker 3: behind the.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Goal, wrap around try but big samee by.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Tobby the card coming from his left to his right,
- 2:48Speaker 3: hits his legout to make sure that one never got through.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Bronzitsky. He caught his backhand for the line for box.
- 2:54Speaker 4: Dear signed Gabrickoff shoots tip stores weart. With the pace
- 3:00Speaker 4: of this first period, you.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Knew something was gonna happen and the Rangers strike first.
- 3:06Speaker 4: It was a Vladyslav Gabrikov left.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Point shot rolled up off of something in front in
- 3:13Speaker 3: by Decord. Rangers lead, why not to bitch done? Told
- 3:17Speaker 3: it back to it done left side.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Stevenson fires sto Chandler. Stevenson on the power plane has
- 3:31Speaker 5: tied the game for Seattle.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Oh, thank Heaven.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Seventy eleven left in the first period, we're tied at one.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Well, fantastic puck moveman on this cracking power play starts
- 3:41Speaker 6: over with Tolbenah on left side on the flank, he
- 3:44Speaker 6: gets it back to done Dunn thinks about shooting.
- 3:47Speaker 4: He waits to flow a few defenders.
- 3:48Speaker 6: To him, then gives it to his left. Stevenson's there
- 3:51Speaker 6: he goes top Shouflins Sturker games tight and gone.
- 3:54Speaker 4: To the Rangers.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Back in Cooley left side shot turned aside to Card
- 3:59Speaker 3: couldn't handle the reem and the Rangers.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Bang it home.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Noah waba his second goal in the National Hockey League
- 4:06Speaker 3: and the Rangers regame in the lead to Well. Stevenson,
- 4:09Speaker 3: right wing, fresh off the bench, hands it now for Schwartz.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Jaden Schwartz turns in the corner, now the montour off
- 4:16Speaker 4: the fence, stop.
- 4:24Speaker 3: A bomb from Brandon on the right side, and Seattle
- 4:29Speaker 3: precon retire the game to two thirteen oh one left
- 4:34Speaker 3: a period number two.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Well, Seattle is doing an excellent job doing a line
- 4:38Speaker 6: change in the offensive end.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Jaden Schwartz curls up the wall finds Montour coming up
- 4:43Speaker 4: off the bench. Puts to this wheelhouse Montreur with a bomb.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Two Stone shoots turn aside by the doors, loose fucking front.
- 4:51Speaker 4: They scramble but still down and it's in. They score.
- 4:57Speaker 4: No one could find it.
- 4:59Speaker 3: See we had three around the outside of the blue paint.
- 5:04Speaker 3: The Rangers crash and bang will coolly.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Leaves the handshake line. As of now three to two
- 5:12Speaker 4: Rangers lead. But we'll see.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Yeah, there was at least one cracking player in the net,
- 5:17Speaker 6: Alexiak Stevenson out front. That Marson might have been the
- 5:20Speaker 6: one that was Alexiak that was in the net.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Oh in a minute.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Cooley was trying to push the chords blocker, but the
- 5:27Speaker 3: buck was under the cord's left leg, and then Jamie
- 5:32Speaker 3: Alexiak slid into the goal with the puck.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Here's the call.
- 5:35Speaker 6: The call in the ice has been overturned to no goal.
- 5:39Speaker 6: All right, you called the partner, You called it dead
- 5:43Speaker 6: eye in the sky.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Ty car Shay snap his stick in half. He goes
- 5:48Speaker 4: to the bench. Ton't manager Phil Varney gives him another one.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Now enstrum down the slop boy playing and the cord
- 5:54Speaker 4: makes the same on a big save by Joey to Cord.
- 5:57Speaker 3: There. He's made two game savers in this third period
- 6:01Speaker 3: and we're just over five minutes in on the Rangers
- 6:04Speaker 3: Fox right side in front at Miller stone by toey
- 6:10Speaker 3: the card. Oh my goodness, the chord fails out the
- 6:16Speaker 3: Kraken with a goal line.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Stand at Gt.
- 6:20Speaker 6: Miller Lieutenant shot going to that bar left post. The
- 6:22Speaker 6: puck gets onto his stick, he puts it back towards
- 6:25Speaker 6: the middle, and then I'm not sure if he was
- 6:26Speaker 6: sticking five hole on Joey to Cord, but the chord
- 6:30Speaker 6: either way coming up with a big stop.
- 6:31Speaker 3: There twenty left and over time here comes to Miller
- 6:34Speaker 3: here side, Cooley settles, shoots stores Rangers gotten the cord
- 6:40Speaker 3: to bite Will Cooley right circle.
- 6:43Speaker 4: He snaps it in by Joey the cord.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Back to back overtime wins for the Rangers, back to
- 6:49Speaker 3: back overtime losses for the Kracking.
- 6:51Speaker 2: They fall three too so a tough way for it
- 6:53Speaker 2: to end with the Krack and falling three to two
- 6:56Speaker 2: in sudden depth overtime. They've been involved in plenty of
- 6:59Speaker 2: one goal games throughout the entire season, and this one
- 7:02Speaker 2: ending on similar terms just like with Montreal's game back
- 7:06Speaker 2: on Tuesday, last shot wins and that coming courtesy the visitors,
- 7:11Speaker 2: this time Will Cooley picking up his second goal of
- 7:14Speaker 2: the season. The Krack and though getting their third goal
- 7:17Speaker 2: of the year from Chandler Stevenson third goal of the
- 7:19Speaker 2: year from Brandon Montur despite firing a new Franchin's low
- 7:24Speaker 2: thirteen shots in one game outshot by the Rangers twenty
- 7:29Speaker 2: seven to thirteen, as Igor Sisterkin picked up the win
- 7:32Speaker 2: with eleven saves on thirteen shots and Joey Decord taking
- 7:36Speaker 2: the overtime loss with twenty four saves on twenty seven shots.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Back to practice on Sunday, head coach Lane Lambert spoke
- 7:43Speaker 2: more coming out of the overtime loss with the media face.
- 7:47Speaker 7: Officer, I think kind of diving into it, you know,
- 7:50Speaker 7: from the startloads a how do you look at success
- 7:54Speaker 7: doot as far as a tactical thing or position thing.
- 7:57Speaker 8: Or even an effort, Well, you start with a part
- 8:00Speaker 8: or you don't right, So you're you're either making plays
- 8:04Speaker 8: or you're chasing the puck and defending, and so you know,
- 8:09Speaker 8: I mean, we've talked about it a little bit here
- 8:13Speaker 8: and certainly we need to get better in that area.
- 8:16Speaker 9: Ry Evans progressing. It looks like from red to normal jersey,
- 8:20Speaker 9: is he getting like are we starting to talk put
- 8:23Speaker 9: him into blind rushes and things like that.
- 8:26Speaker 8: Well, optional practice, there's no contact, so there was no
- 8:28Speaker 8: point in him having a red jersey on. Yeah, so
- 8:31Speaker 8: that's that's that's where we're progressing.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Be wearing red. Then if it was a normal practice.
- 8:37Speaker 8: He would be wearing red right now. He's day to
- 8:39Speaker 8: day and we'll see where it goes from here. He's
- 8:41Speaker 8: progressing though.
- 8:43Speaker 7: And with Joannie drawing out of the lineup last night,
- 8:46Speaker 7: is there anything in particular we wanted him to focus on,
- 8:49Speaker 7: you know, watching the.
- 8:49Speaker 8: Game, and you know, you know what he First of all,
- 8:53Speaker 8: it's not anything he did or didn't do. You know,
- 8:57Speaker 8: Coppo came back into the lineup. We made that decision.
- 9:00Speaker 8: That doesn't mean that it's a long term for sure.
- 9:03Speaker 8: So you know, with him, I think any young player
- 9:06Speaker 8: can learn, excuse me, when they're sitting in the stands
- 9:10Speaker 8: and again, just positioning for him, not only defensive positioning,
- 9:15Speaker 8: but positioning offensively. How can he find areas and find
- 9:19Speaker 8: ways to get his shot off and create that space?
- 9:22Speaker 9: I asked you last night about well, you gave some
- 9:25Speaker 9: great insight on getting out of his own and using
- 9:28Speaker 9: that's going to create offense, and he talked about poise
- 9:32Speaker 9: and composer with whom bucket and defensive zone. How do
- 9:34Speaker 9: you actually teach that that? It almost feels like it
- 9:38Speaker 9: would be a like an inherent type of thing as
- 9:41Speaker 9: opposed to something that he's learned, like, how do you
- 9:43Speaker 9: practice that?
- 9:45Speaker 8: Well, it can be an inherent thing, there's no question
- 9:47Speaker 8: about it. Obviously, it's you know, it's an instinctual thing.
- 9:51Speaker 8: But there is ways to help, and there's ways from
- 9:55Speaker 8: a team standpoint to find solutions and to be honest
- 9:59Speaker 8: with you, I thought, you know, last night, we didn't
- 10:02Speaker 8: spend nearly as much time in in our zone as
- 10:05Speaker 8: as we have. We did a better job of getting
- 10:09Speaker 8: pucks out, We did a better job on the walls.
- 10:11Speaker 8: You know, we had some early turnovers where you know,
- 10:15Speaker 8: they kind of stand out a little bit, but you know,
- 10:18Speaker 8: certainly towards the second half of the game, our numbers
- 10:22Speaker 8: and our time spent in our zone was very very good. Uh,
- 10:26Speaker 8: you know, from that standpoint, and you know, if we
- 10:28Speaker 8: can continue that trend, we'll we'll be trending upward. Obviously
- 10:32Speaker 8: the line of Miller's beIN a JAD and you know,
- 10:35Speaker 8: Paneren are a very good line and so they were
- 10:39Speaker 8: able to spend some time in our zone and make
- 10:41Speaker 8: some plays. But other than that, I thought we did
- 10:43Speaker 8: a pretty good job.
- 10:44Speaker 7: Lane.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Reaching back to a training camp for a minute, O'Brian said,
- 10:47Speaker 3: a really good first one snade the HL player in
- 10:50Speaker 3: the mud.
- 10:50Speaker 7: What did you see from him?
- 10:52Speaker 8: Williams here just a smart player, you know, and for
- 10:57Speaker 8: me it was nice to see him, you know, with
- 10:59Speaker 8: his offensive abilities also you know, playing a two hundred
- 11:04Speaker 8: foot game. That was probably the biggest thing that I
- 11:06Speaker 8: noticed about him was you know, his ability to see
- 11:10Speaker 8: the game from both sides of the bucket.
- 11:12Speaker 7: Well, for player like that is being a camp to
- 11:14Speaker 7: house so.
- 11:15Speaker 9: Sort of lookally great for him to know.
- 11:18Speaker 8: Well, sure, you know leadership qualities when you're a captain
- 11:22Speaker 8: of any team, there's certain lessons that you know and
- 11:26Speaker 8: experiences that you get and you learn and you learn from.
- 11:32Speaker 7: About seven days from now, we have four more games
- 11:35Speaker 7: wiped off the calendar, and it was also.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Back to back and this is kind of a contrasted
- 11:39Speaker 3: light that.
- 11:40Speaker 1: These guys just went through.
- 11:42Speaker 9: So how much do you kind of do that maybe
- 11:43Speaker 9: as rhythm.
- 11:44Speaker 7: And you know, probably a positive kind of these guys,
- 11:47Speaker 7: you know a little bit more doubt in.
- 11:48Speaker 8: This worth well, you do start to you know, like
- 11:51Speaker 8: you say, you do start to get into a rhythm.
- 11:53Speaker 8: And again we've had, you know, we did have a
- 11:55Speaker 8: couple of good practice days, you know, but with you know,
- 11:59Speaker 8: as of lilast night, including last night, five games in
- 12:02Speaker 8: you know, eight or nine days and some traveling, some
- 12:04Speaker 8: back to back included in that. You've got to manage
- 12:06Speaker 8: your rest, you know, while maintaining the rhythm, and the
- 12:10Speaker 8: rhythm is you know, you get into you get into
- 12:13Speaker 8: game mode for the most part. So you know, we're
- 12:16Speaker 8: looking forward.
- 12:16Speaker 1: To that couch.
- 12:17Speaker 9: I've chat with a couple of the guys about Josh
- 12:19Speaker 9: Mhura what kind of teammate he is. They've said very
- 12:22Speaker 9: good things. What have you see it from him in
- 12:24Speaker 9: terms of how he interacts with his teammates?
- 12:27Speaker 8: Yeah, just you know, there I concur with what they say. Certainly,
- 12:32Speaker 8: you know, he's a team first guy period. He's got
- 12:36Speaker 8: great energy, positive energy, you know, so I think really
- 12:43Speaker 8: really good for the group in terms of you know,
- 12:47Speaker 8: being a good teammate no matter what's going on, whether
- 12:50Speaker 8: it's in good times or bad times. That's what I've
- 12:53Speaker 8: seen so far.
- 12:54Speaker 9: And in his tenure at the Crack, And he's had
- 12:56Speaker 9: sometimes where he's kind of like in and out of
- 12:57Speaker 9: the lineup. What has what have you seen him on
- 13:00Speaker 9: the ice that's kind of made you trust.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Him in his role?
- 13:03Speaker 3: Uh?
- 13:04Speaker 8: Well, he's you know, he's very responsible and he reminds
- 13:08Speaker 8: me a little bit of Langrin in terms of commitment level.
- 13:12Speaker 7: Uh.
- 13:12Speaker 8: You know, he's got a great commitment level. He you know,
- 13:15Speaker 8: when when there's something that needs to be done, whether
- 13:18Speaker 8: it's a shot be blocked or or to pay the
- 13:20Speaker 8: price to do something, pay the price to you know,
- 13:22Speaker 8: to make a play, he'll do it. So uh you know,
- 13:25Speaker 8: the other side of it too is that you know,
- 13:28Speaker 8: he's his mobility's pretty good and he's able to make
- 13:32Speaker 8: pretty decent breakout passes. So I've I've thought he's done
- 13:34Speaker 8: a very good job here over the first uh first
- 13:37Speaker 8: eleven games.
- 13:38Speaker 2: That's head coach Lane Lambert and the Kraken trying to
- 13:40Speaker 2: get back to reinforcing key principles when it comes to
- 13:44Speaker 2: getting out of their own defensive zone face offs, and
- 13:47Speaker 2: just plainly getting more shots on net. They'll put that
- 13:50Speaker 2: to the test of this evening against Chicago, a team
- 13:53Speaker 2: that didn't draw a lot of high expectations on paper
- 13:56Speaker 2: before this season, but Connor Bedard going next level has
- 14:00Speaker 2: certainly helped Chicago's cause so far under new head coach
- 14:04Speaker 2: Chef Blaschel. The Blackhawks coming in at five four to
- 14:07Speaker 2: three in just twelve games certainly a promising start all
- 14:11Speaker 2: things considered. They were a lottery team once again last
- 14:15Speaker 2: year in the midst of a rebuild. That season, they
- 14:18Speaker 2: were thirty first in the NHL with a minus seventy
- 14:21Speaker 2: gold differential, and the Krack is now trying to grab
- 14:25Speaker 2: their fourth win in the last five meetings against Chicago
- 14:28Speaker 2: and grab their ninth win in thirteen games all time.
- 14:31Speaker 2: More reunions in store. Andre Borakowski left the Krack in
- 14:35Speaker 2: this last summer in a trade to Chicago. He's back
- 14:38Speaker 2: in Seattle for the first time since that deal. He
- 14:41Speaker 2: owns nine points in eleven games. Ryan Denado, former Krack
- 14:45Speaker 2: and Ford as well, back with Chicago coming off a
- 14:48Speaker 2: massive contract extension. He owns eight points in twelve games,
- 14:52Speaker 2: not to mention six goals. Right now tied with Connor Bedard.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Speaking of Badard, at twenty years of age, he already
- 15:00Speaker 2: owns fifteen points in twelve games and one of the
- 15:03Speaker 2: more dangerous forwards as far as end to end rushes,
- 15:06Speaker 2: not just him, but another part of their youth, also
- 15:09Speaker 2: chipping in Frank Naser twenty seven points in fifty four
- 15:12Speaker 2: games last season but earning a big contract after that,
- 15:16Speaker 2: and Nasers so far nearly at point per game totals
- 15:19Speaker 2: the Detroit, Michigan product, owning eleven points in twelve games.
- 15:23Speaker 2: The big question here for Chicago is this start sustainable again.
- 15:28Speaker 2: They are five to four and three through eleven games,
- 15:31Speaker 2: gold differential sitting at plus three, but recently they pushed
- 15:34Speaker 2: Edmonton to the limit, getting an overtime point despite taking
- 15:38Speaker 2: a three to two overtime loss at Rogers Place back
- 15:41Speaker 2: on Saturday, when Evan Bouchard scored two forty three into
- 15:45Speaker 2: ot Blackhawks goals courtesy Tyler Bertuzzi and Andre Borikowsky as
- 15:50Speaker 2: well scored in period two and period three respectively. So
- 15:55Speaker 2: on the crack inside, they're looking to keep a good
- 15:58Speaker 2: thing going on. Home I squear they have been pretty stingy,
- 16:01Speaker 2: allowing just eleven goals so far in five games at
- 16:04Speaker 2: right now third fewest in the NHL for any team
- 16:08Speaker 2: on home mice. Jordan Eberley, by the way, a player
- 16:12Speaker 2: to watch out for here, the Cracking captain, owning thirty
- 16:15Speaker 2: four points in his career against Chicago. That's most on
- 16:19Speaker 2: the entire crack And roster. We'll have full blown coverage
- 16:22Speaker 2: opening up for you at six thirty tonight back by
- 16:25Speaker 2: the cors Light landing in section twenty of your pregame
- 16:27Speaker 2: show again served up by Frostbured Corps. Light Chose Chill
