- 0:00Speaker 1: People get all superstitious. In fact, I even made one
- 0:03Speaker 1: up myself. I was at the airport the other day
- 0:07Speaker 1: and I saw the Cardinals plane with the logo on
- 0:10Speaker 1: the back. They had Arizona Cardinals. I was like, wow,
- 0:12Speaker 1: there's the plane. And then I flew back the next
- 0:15Speaker 1: day and the plane was still there. And then the
- 0:17Speaker 1: Cardinals won. And I was like, I wonder if I
- 0:19Speaker 1: see the plane every time before a game if they win.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Like I created my own superstition. That's kind of cool.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I was like, if I see their plane, they will
- 0:26Speaker 1: always win. It's worked one time in a row. But
- 0:28Speaker 1: to go out of my way to go see the
- 0:29Speaker 1: plane is great. So then I thought, what if the
- 0:30Speaker 1: owners go, hey, man, we need you to come see
- 0:32Speaker 1: the plane now. And they pick me up at the station,
- 0:34Speaker 1: drive me there, look at the plane, and come back.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I mean, if you're a good luck charm, that's part
- 0:37Speaker 1: of what you got to do. I know. I literally
- 0:38Speaker 1: made all that up in my head the other day.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And I thought, wow. So sports superstitions. Ramona, you got
- 0:44Speaker 1: a superstition about sports superstitions?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so my brother's Broncos jersey got soaked in natty
- 0:50Speaker 2: light during a comeback win last year. He didn't wash
- 0:55Speaker 2: it before the next game, and they ended up winning again,
- 0:58Speaker 2: so he never washed the jersey again after that. And
- 1:02Speaker 2: he would wear that same nasty, smelly jersey every week
- 1:06Speaker 2: while watching the game, and he spilled buffalo chicken dip,
- 1:11Speaker 2: all different kinds of drinks and suspicious stuff. fluids on
- 1:16Speaker 2: it throughout the season because he was convinced all the
- 1:19Speaker 2: stink was lucky.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Ew.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Why can't he be convinced that cleaning it every time
- 1:24Speaker 3: is the good luck charm?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Wipes off the good luck. Washes the good luck. What
- 1:28Speaker 1: about between seasons?
- 1:29Speaker 4: That's what I was going to say. Now that it's like,
- 1:31Speaker 4: now that, did he wash it in the off season?
- 1:33Speaker 4: Now that we're starting a new season?
- 1:35Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, could you imagine if not?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Eventually, he was convinced that that was going to like
- 1:39Speaker 2: continue their winning streak, but like they didn't even go
- 1:41Speaker 2: to the Super Bowl. So, I mean, I hope he's.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Washed it since then.
- 1:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 1: All right, so he wears a dirty jersey every time.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Dang. You just got to steal it, Ramona, and just
- 1:50Speaker 5: do it for him.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Thanks, Ramona. Thanks for calling in. Thanks. Regis, let's hear
- 1:55Speaker 1: your sports superstition, or any superstition.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Two years ago, the 49ers were playing a huge game, and,
- 2:01Speaker 6: you know, we were tossing a few back, drinking and
- 2:03Speaker 6: all that, and I just wanted to smoke a bit.
- 2:06Speaker 6: And it just so happened that every time I stepped
- 2:09Speaker 6: out and smoked a cigarette, they would score.
- 2:12Speaker 7: So.
- 2:13Speaker 6: I started smoking low-key every game whenever they were in
- 2:17Speaker 6: the red zone. And eventually, it became like, oh, they're.
- 2:20Speaker 1: About to score.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I need to go outside and smoke. Then I started
- 2:23Speaker 6: smoking during regular season games and college games and games
- 2:26Speaker 6: I didn't even care about. My friends finally pointed out
- 2:29Speaker 6: that I basically trained myself to associate my team's scoring
- 2:33Speaker 6: with needing a cigarette. And I still swear that if
- 2:36Speaker 6: I quit smoking, my team is going to continue to
- 2:39Speaker 6: start losing. And also, now I like smoking.
- 2:44Speaker 1: God, that's gross.
- 2:44Speaker 8: That's not a good habit to enjoy.
- 2:48Speaker 1: All right. Well, thanks for calling in, Regis.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Thank you, guys.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We want to hear your superstition. What do you live by?
- 2:54Speaker 1: It doesn't have to be sports superstition. It could be anything.
- 2:56Speaker 9: 877-937-1047.
- 2:59Speaker 1: If you have a traffic tip, call 602-374-6300. Hey, real quick,
- 3:04Speaker 1: War of the Roses was this morning. Nicole, your thoughts
- 3:07Speaker 1: on War of the Roses?
- 3:10Speaker 10: Yeah, so I listened to all the callers, obviously, and I.
- 3:15Speaker 7: Do agree with some of the things they were saying.
- 3:18Speaker 10: Like, you kind of did set him up by going
- 3:20Speaker 10: into his DMs and flirting with him, and a normal
- 3:23Speaker 10: man would flirt back and blah, blah, blah. But then
- 3:26Speaker 10: I started to think about it. Like I've had men
- 3:28Speaker 10: slide in my DMs and I don't engage. So like,
- 3:32Speaker 10: I think the difference is he was trying to be
- 3:34Speaker 10: active on her social media to get her attention. And
- 3:38Speaker 10: then like the last caller said, the bigger problem is
- 3:40Speaker 10: that he lied about it. So just because someone slides
- 3:43Speaker 10: in your DMs and is flirting, it might be tempting
- 3:46Speaker 10: because you like the attention, but you're the one in
- 3:49Speaker 10: the relationship.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So you, you don't.
- 3:51Speaker 10: Need to engage with them.
- 3:53Speaker 11: You know what I mean?
- 3:54Speaker 10: You don't have to engage and flirt back just because
- 3:57Speaker 10: they're flirting with you, man, woman, whatever. But the bigger
- 4:01Speaker 10: thing is him lying about it, for sure.
- 4:03Speaker 1: What are you doing right now, Nicole?
- 4:06Speaker 10: I'm curling my hair.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Earlier I said, what are you doing? It was funny. Nicole,
- 4:13Speaker 1: thanks for listening. Thanks for calling in.
- 4:15Speaker 12: Thanks, guys.
- 4:15Speaker 13: Love you.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Love you, too. All right. Superstitions. Superstitions. It's football season. Tammy,
- 4:21Speaker 1: you got one?
- 4:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 6: Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 9: Hello?
- 4:24Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 4:25Speaker 13: Hi. Hi.
- 4:26Speaker 10: I was talking about the sports superstition.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:29Speaker 14: You're absolutely wonderful.
- 4:31Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 4:33Speaker 13: I was delivering a DoorDash.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Oh, my God. See, everybody's doing something. What did you deliver?
- 4:38Speaker 1: What food?
- 4:38Speaker 14: It's Zaxby's.
- 4:40Speaker 9: It's the chicken thing.
- 4:42Speaker 13: I can't even pronounce it.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Zaxby's.
- 4:44Speaker 15: Yum.
- 4:45Speaker 13: Yeah, there you go.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Oh, who'd you deliver to? What's her name and address?
- 4:48Speaker 5: Don't do that.
- 4:49Speaker 7: We're out here in Indiana.
- 4:51Speaker 1: They don't have addresses there. Just go to the yellow
- 4:54Speaker 1: house with the red door. All right, what's your superstition?
- 4:59Speaker 13: So my superstition, I have a rare Oregon Ducks bobblehead
- 5:05Speaker 13: that I got when I worked at Target in Portland.
- 5:10Speaker 10: He's got to be watching the TV while the game's playing.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Sure, that makes sense.
- 5:16Speaker 13: But my grandson messed with it last week, and we lost.
- 5:21Speaker 1: He wasn't watching.
- 5:23Speaker 13: He wasn't watching. My two-year-old grandson was playing with him.
- 5:26Speaker 13: And I'm like, no.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That's a good one. And the Ducks lost.
- 5:32Speaker 13: I let my husband have it for one season because
- 5:35Speaker 13: my kid used to say that we fought over the
- 5:38Speaker 13: Ducks on the divorce more than we did them.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Makes sense, Tammy. I was wondering why they lost that game.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I had no idea your Duck wasn't watching.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I'm saying. Because it didn't make sense. It didn't make sense.
- 5:48Speaker 1: They should have won.
- 5:49Speaker 13: Yeah, like we lost the whole season because I let
- 5:52Speaker 13: my ex-husband have it. And I'm like, no, you can't
- 5:55Speaker 13: have it. You aren't letting him watch the game.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Tammy, thank you very much. Superstitions. Denise, thanks for holding.
- 6:00Speaker 1: What's your superstition?
- 6:04Speaker 9: My husband swears that I am the worst and best luck.
- 6:08Speaker 9: So for football, anytime I watch the Steelers game, he
- 6:13Speaker 9: says that they lose. And there has not been a
- 6:16Speaker 9: game that I've watched where they've won. So I'm banned
- 6:19Speaker 9: from the living room when football's on.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm not allowed to.
- 6:24Speaker 9: I'm allowed to go through the living room during commercial
- 6:27Speaker 9: time because the other team scored while I had to
- 6:32Speaker 9: go to the bathroom and I crossed the living room
- 6:34Speaker 9: and they scored and he was like, you're going to
- 6:36Speaker 9: have to wait. And I'm like, now I have scheduled
- 6:38Speaker 9: like bathroom times.
- 6:39Speaker 1: What? What did you do?
- 6:40Speaker 12: Call out?
- 6:41Speaker 1: Is it okay if I pee?
- 6:42Speaker 3: Do you have to ask permission to walk through the room?
- 6:45Speaker 9: Yeah, so I'm coming in. He's like, wait, they're about
- 6:48Speaker 9: to score. And so I literally have to wait in
- 6:51Speaker 9: the kitchen, and then they don't score. And then he's like, okay,
- 6:54Speaker 9: you can come through, and then I can go. And
- 6:56Speaker 9: then for baseball, we went to the Cubs versus Diamondbacks game,
- 7:03Speaker 9: and we're Cubs fans.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I know.
- 7:05Speaker 9: I'm so sorry. And they won. We didn't– well, I
- 7:09Speaker 9: didn't watch the next game the following day, and I
- 7:12Speaker 9: don't know if you heard– Wow. You got a lot
- 7:14Speaker 9: of responsibility. Yeah, I'm just like, okay, I'll watch. But
- 7:38Speaker 9: then the other day, they just destroyed the other team.
- 7:44Speaker 9: So he's like, you're watching every single game. I'm like, okay,
- 7:47Speaker 9: I'm sorry.
- 7:48Speaker 1: That's great. I love your husband. That's so funny. Thank
- 7:51Speaker 1: you for calling in. I love it. Thanks, Denise.
- 7:53Speaker 9: And then I have one more thing, a regular superstition.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you got?
- 7:58Speaker 9: So I think this is a Hispanic thing, the one you–
- 8:02Speaker 9: Tilt the salt. You're supposed to do a little X
- 8:05Speaker 9: or something on the salt that you dropped.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:09Speaker 9: And then you're supposed to put a little bit of salt.
- 8:11Speaker 9: My aunt is very superstitious, so she knocked the salt over.
- 8:16Speaker 9: She did the little square thingy on the table. She
- 8:20Speaker 9: poured a little bit of salt, and you're supposed to...
- 8:23Speaker 9: put it behind your back or something, but she wasn't
- 8:25Speaker 9: paying attention. And she just threw the entire salt shaker.
- 8:28Speaker 1: You're supposed to put the sign of the cross. You
- 8:32Speaker 1: do sign of the cross in the, in the salt.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And then you throw the salt over your shoulder.
- 8:37Speaker 9: Yes, but she's through the salt shaker.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Thanks Denise. Joanna, Joanna, what's your superstition?
- 8:44Speaker 7: Um, my grandma used to tell me when I was,
- 8:46Speaker 7: when we were younger, that, um, if there were spiders
- 8:50Speaker 7: early in your house, like in the summer, that it
- 8:52Speaker 7: was going to be really cold soon and that you're
- 8:54Speaker 7: going to have an early winter.
- 8:56Speaker 3: That's probably right, because the spiders are probably looking for
- 8:58Speaker 3: someplace warm to go anyway.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Is that a superstition or is that a fact? That
- 9:02Speaker 1: might be science.
- 9:02Speaker 7: I don't know. I'm not sure, but this is also
- 9:05Speaker 7: the grandma that said that she did not want to
- 9:07Speaker 7: live in the 90s whatsoever, and she passed away January 30th, 1989.
- 9:12Speaker 7: So I always believed what she told us when we
- 9:14Speaker 7: were little.
- 9:16Speaker 1: She didn't want to live in the 90s like the
- 9:17Speaker 1: decade the 90s or her age in the 90s?
- 9:20Speaker 7: No, in her decade. She was like 65 when she passed.
- 9:23Speaker 1: What if the universe didn't understand her? She had to
- 9:25Speaker 1: be clearer.
- 9:26Speaker 3: She said she didn't want to be around the 90s.
- 9:27Speaker 3: She didn't want to see grunge music.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Wow. Thanks, Joanna.
- 9:34Speaker 7: You're welcome.
- 9:34Speaker 1: There's a text here that, to me, is, again, just
- 9:37Speaker 1: common sense. It's not a superstition, but this text says,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I will not have a price to anything I buy
- 9:42Speaker 1: end up with 666. I tell the teller to add
- 9:45Speaker 1: anything to get off that number. Of course. To me,
- 9:47Speaker 1: that's common sense. Sarah, hi, what's your superstition?
- 9:51Speaker 14: My superstition isn't like a negative one, but I have
- 9:56Speaker 14: one where if I see three missing headlights in a row,
- 10:00Speaker 14: I have to double tap my steering wheel and then
- 10:02Speaker 14: tap the windshield and then double one more down on
- 10:06Speaker 14: the steering wheel.
- 10:07Speaker 15: And then I get to make a wish.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to steal that. I'm going to use
- 10:10Speaker 1: that as my own because that's got to be something. Wait,
- 10:11Speaker 1: did you say it again? I know, I'm like, how
- 10:13Speaker 1: many double taps? Yeah, what do we do? Okay, hold on.
- 10:15Speaker 15: You double tap once on the steering wheel and then
- 10:18Speaker 15: you go up and you tap the windshield and then
- 10:20Speaker 15: you come back down and just once tap the steering wheel.
- 10:23Speaker 1: So four taps, four taps all together. Four taps all together.
- 10:26Speaker 15: Double tap one up and one down.
- 10:28Speaker 1: But you got to see three missing headlights in a row.
- 10:31Speaker 15: Three in a row.
- 10:32Speaker 11: And if you get out of the car, then the
- 10:33Speaker 11: game starts over.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Three messy headlights in a row has got to be
- 10:37Speaker 1: kind of hard, kind of random, I would think.
- 10:39Speaker 9: It's not that hard, actually.
- 10:41Speaker 15: I'm like, oh, you're going to get pulled over.
- 10:42Speaker 1: No, I mean, it's good. Anyway, thank you, Sarah. That
- 10:46Speaker 1: is a very unique situation.
- 10:47Speaker 9: Wait, can I tell you one more thing?
- 10:47Speaker 3: Sure.
- 10:48Speaker 7: Can I tell you one more thing?
- 10:49Speaker 15: So I was the one that got to call the
- 10:50Speaker 15: other day and talk to Wendy, and she was amazing.
- 10:53Speaker 15: But I wanted to tell you, and this is like
- 10:55Speaker 15: no joke, I even sent you a text message with
- 10:57Speaker 15: a picture afterwards. I was on the freeway.
- 11:00Speaker 7: I was just going to work.
- 11:01Speaker 15: I was getting on the I-10 from the 17. And
- 11:04Speaker 15: as soon as I got off the phone with Dylan,
- 11:06Speaker 15: she was telling me thank you for waiting and all.
- 11:08Speaker 9: That good stuff.
- 11:09Speaker 15: And all of a sudden, I look down, and my
- 11:11Speaker 15: car is telling me, you need air in your tire
- 11:13Speaker 15: right now. And I was like, what? And then I
- 11:15Speaker 15: could hear my flat tire. I had a blowout on
- 11:18Speaker 15: the freeway. So as soon as I got off the
- 11:20Speaker 15: phone with Wendy, my sister was like, mm-hmm, girl, I
- 11:23Speaker 15: sure did put a hex on you.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 11:25Speaker 9: I am going to reverse that curse.
- 11:27Speaker 15: I'm going to do that.
- 11:28Speaker 3: You're talking about Wendy the witch who said to reverse
- 11:30Speaker 3: the hex that your sister who passed away gave you
- 11:34Speaker 3: a little bit of, like, she's throwing shade.
- 11:36Speaker 1: On your life.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:39Speaker 15: And literally, and it was not, like, no joke, like,
- 11:41Speaker 15: I literally was on the phone with her when I
- 11:44Speaker 15: looked down and I just hung up and it was like,
- 11:46Speaker 15: you need air now. And I was like, what? And
- 11:49Speaker 15: then I could just hear it. It was making that
- 11:51Speaker 15: terrible noise that it makes when you've got a flat tire.
- 11:54Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, Good job.
- 11:56Speaker 14: I was talking about her.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Better go find an ocean. When my car tells me
- 12:00Speaker 1: that I need air, I ignore it for three weeks. Yeah. Thanks, Sarah.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Drive safe. Thanks for calling in. We got Disney tickets
- 12:07Speaker 1: to give away. We need caller 104 at 877-937-1047. You
- 12:10Speaker 1: know what I thought would be kind of interesting? Something
- 12:13Speaker 1: different to do on the radio if you want to
- 12:14Speaker 1: try it. Like we wait for caller 104 right now.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I have to pee really bad. What if the three
- 12:18Speaker 1: of you guys talk for a while, wait till we
- 12:19Speaker 1: get to caller 104, I'm going to go pee and
- 12:20Speaker 1: come right back. Let's stay live on the radio. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: dare you. What the hell? Play the top of the hour.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Play the top of the hour. I'm going to go pee.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Come back. Exciting radio. What can you get? What can
- 12:31Speaker 1: the three of you guys talk about while I go pee?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Can't do it, huh? Boy, you guys need that improv
- 12:36Speaker 1: class back. I want to get that improv guy in
- 12:38Speaker 1: here ASAP. We'll probably talk about your bathroom habits. That's fine.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And we could also play the song that we're supposed.
- 12:45Speaker 13: To play, too.
- 12:45Speaker 1: See? Come on. Let's move forward and see. What can
- 12:47Speaker 1: the three of you talk about while I go pee?
- 12:49Speaker 4: We could talk about Peyton's night last night.
- 12:51Speaker 1: That's a great idea. So you play the top of
- 12:54Speaker 1: the hour. I'm going to go pee. Peyton, let's see. Dylan,
- 12:57Speaker 1: what color are you at right now? What number are
- 13:02Speaker 1: you at?
- 13:02Speaker 3: 22.
- 13:03Speaker 7: 22.
- 13:03Speaker 1: By the time I go pee, you guys are probably
- 13:05Speaker 1: going to come back and be at like eight. Okay.
- 13:06Speaker 1: You're going to need to run. Yeah, okay.
- 13:09Speaker 13: Go do your thing.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Go do your thing. First of all, this. KZZP Mesa Phoenix.
- 13:14Speaker 3: 104.7 KISS FM.
- 13:16Speaker 1: An iHeartRadio station. Guaranteed human. I want to hear about
- 13:20Speaker 1: Chance the Rapper last night. How was it?
- 13:22Speaker 5: Honestly? Rob, I'm not exaggerating. Last night when I went
- 13:25Speaker 5: to bed, I was like, this is probably top five
- 13:27Speaker 5: shows ever.
- 13:28Speaker 13: Really?
- 13:29Speaker 8: I woke up this morning and I was like, probably
- 13:31Speaker 8: top three.
- 13:33Speaker 1: It was such a good show.
- 13:34Speaker 5: What changed overnight?
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, who got kicked out? I think the fact that
- 13:37Speaker 1: I just, I kept.
- 13:37Speaker 8: Waking up and thinking about the show. It just was like,
- 13:40Speaker 8: I don't know why, I just felt like so, like,
- 13:43Speaker 8: it was so fun.
- 13:44Speaker 5: It was so cool.
- 13:45Speaker 8: It was so, it seemed as if everyone was locked in.
- 13:50Speaker 8: Everyone was singing. Did you do the whole album?
- 13:53Speaker 5: He didn't do his whole album.
- 13:54Speaker 8: He did some of his newer songs and then he
- 13:56Speaker 8: also did some of his throwback songs. So basically this
- 13:59Speaker 8: tour is the coloring book tour, which is the 10
- 14:02Speaker 8: year anniversary of this album. And this is an album
- 14:06Speaker 8: that really changed like Chance the Rapper. Like he he
- 14:08Speaker 8: I mean, he was big before, but he really blew up.
- 14:10Speaker 8: He had a ton of crazy features on that album.
- 14:13Speaker 8: Justin Bieber future like it was just off the charts.
- 14:16Speaker 8: It was all over the place.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Were you kind of hoping he was going to bring
- 14:19Speaker 4: out one of those features?
- 14:20Speaker 1: Like, you know how artists do that?
- 14:21Speaker 5: They always surprise. There comes Justin Bieber.
- 14:24Speaker 10: Yes.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Just kidding.
- 14:25Speaker 8: A hundred percent. I was hoping that, but it felt
- 14:27Speaker 8: like we were right there. And I got to tell you,
- 14:29Speaker 8: it was like, so Chance the Rapper. He's like your rapper,
- 14:32Speaker 8: but he kind of gives gospel a little bit.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, he does.
- 14:36Speaker 5: He's very... He preaches.
- 14:38Speaker 3: But he's like straight up Chicago, and there's a lot
- 14:41Speaker 3: of that influence in his music and all that.
- 14:43Speaker 5: He's dope.
- 14:44Speaker 8: He had gone through some things before he devoted his
- 14:48Speaker 8: life to Christ and then completely changed his life, and
- 14:50Speaker 8: that's what he says this album was. And so there
- 14:53Speaker 8: was times where he was performing, and then he literally
- 14:56Speaker 8: started preaching.
- 14:57Speaker 5: And I was like... I feel like I'm in church.
- 14:59Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 15:00Speaker 5: It kind of like lit a fire in me.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I was like, Oh my gosh.
- 15:03Speaker 8: I was like, if I could find a church that
- 15:05Speaker 8: makes me feel like I'm at this concert right now,
- 15:07Speaker 8: I would be there every Sunday.
- 15:08Speaker 5: He needs to make chances. Church chances.
- 15:10Speaker 6: Church.
- 15:11Speaker 8: He literally was in the whole show. He was like,
- 15:13Speaker 8: I'm going to make you guys my choir. So he
- 15:15Speaker 8: would literally preach and we would sing.
- 15:17Speaker 5: Back to him.
- 15:17Speaker 8: And he did his song Sunday candy, which is, uh,
- 15:21Speaker 8: from his band before he was chance to rapper. And, uh,
- 15:25Speaker 8: I didn't realize that was a deep cut, but I
- 15:26Speaker 8: was shocked that nobody knew the lyrics to Sunday Candy.
- 15:29Speaker 8: So anyone else that's going to Chance to Rap, you
- 15:31Speaker 8: better know the lyrics because he was doing crowd work.
- 15:33Speaker 5: He was going up to people and singing. Do you
- 15:34Speaker 5: think he was disappointed? He was like waiting for everyone
- 15:36Speaker 5: to know. It's like one, just Peyton in the crowd.
- 15:39Speaker 5: It was me. I sing every single word.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Let's see what number we're at right now. Oh, hey,
- 15:42Speaker 1: welcome back.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Yeah, thanks. Sorry, we were just in the middle of
- 15:46Speaker 5: a conversation.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You're calling 97. 97. All right, all right. Yeah, I
- 15:50Speaker 1: repeat really quick.
- 15:52Speaker 5: You're calling 100.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I rushed. I have a couple of drops in my pants.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Come on now. They're khaki pants. But I was in
- 15:59Speaker 1: a hurry. That is the worst pants for that. I know.
- 16:01Speaker 13: All right.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Caller 104 is on line 40.
- 16:03Speaker 1: All right. Caller 104. You get three of the 10
- 16:07Speaker 1: magic words we gave you yesterday. You win tickets to Disneyland.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. What line did you say?
- 16:13Speaker 5: 40.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Okay. She said 40. Okay. Hold on. Here we go.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Here we go. Here we go. Good morning, John Jane Rich.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Can I help you?
- 16:24Speaker 3: Yeah, what color am I?
- 16:28Speaker 1: You are color 104.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Oh, fantastic.
- 16:31Speaker 1: What's your name?
- 16:33Speaker 8: God.
- 16:35Speaker 1: God? You're God? Are you our Lord and Savior? No, Scott. Oh, Scott.
- 16:41Speaker 8: Scott.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Scott.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Hey, Scott. What part of town are you in right now?
- 16:47Speaker 1: North Phoenix. Right on, dude. Well, you're color 104, man.
- 16:50Speaker 1: You're color 104. Mm-hmm. Fantastic. Okay, that's part one. Now,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you've got to give us three of the ten magic words. Okay. Potion.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 17:06Speaker 13: Ribbon.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Yes.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And star.
- 17:11Speaker 10: Yes.
- 17:11Speaker 1: You got it, Scott. You win.
- 17:14Speaker 10: All right.
- 17:16Speaker 5: You're going to Disneyland.
- 17:18Speaker 1: What are you doing this morning? Where are you? I'm
- 17:21Speaker 1: just sitting in my house calling you. I've been trying
- 17:23Speaker 1: to do this for a long time. All right. Well,
- 17:26Speaker 1: you're going, buddy. You got tickets, and you're also throwing
- 17:28Speaker 1: the hopper to win the grand prize, which is four three-day,
- 17:31Speaker 1: one park-per-day passes in Hotel of the Disneyland Resort, man. Congratulations, Scott.
- 17:36Speaker 15: Thank you very much.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Hold on a line. Scott just went. And by the way,
- 17:41Speaker 1: the next time we do this, Well, the next magic
- 17:43Speaker 1: word is coming up in less than two hours. 10.05,
- 17:47Speaker 1: all the way until, I don't know how many we do, 10, 11,
- 17:50Speaker 1: 12 of them. We do 10 of them. So whatever
- 17:51Speaker 1: the math is on that, right? So you collect as
- 17:56Speaker 1: many magic words as you can. And then tomorrow at
- 17:59Speaker 1: 8 a.m., we'll be looking for color 104. Hey, Mary,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you got a superstition? We're talking about, you know, it's
- 18:05Speaker 1: football season. Everyone's got these sports superstitions. What do you got?
- 18:09Speaker 3: So.
- 18:12Speaker 11: I generally try to avoid watching the game before I
- 18:15Speaker 11: see them because I'm a Seahawks fan. I know that's
- 18:19Speaker 11: kind of blasphemous, but I try to not watch the
- 18:23Speaker 11: game if I'm at home, and if I'm at the game,
- 18:25Speaker 11: I wear all the gear.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So by being a fan, you're a fan by not
- 18:33Speaker 1: watching the game?
- 18:35Speaker 11: Yes, because I have terrible luck.
- 18:36Speaker 8: No.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I think that's tough.
- 18:40Speaker 3: When you're a fan of something and you don't watch
- 18:42Speaker 3: it because they're going to lose if you watch it,
- 18:43Speaker 3: then it's tough.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I wouldn't like that.
- 18:46Speaker 13: It is.
- 18:48Speaker 6: It is.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Thank you, Mary. Thanks. There's a text there about Dylan.
- 18:53Speaker 1: When you call our show, Dylan picks up. And I
- 18:56Speaker 1: agree with this text. The girl that calls out the
- 18:58Speaker 1: caller numbers, you know, when she says, you call her 104,
- 19:01Speaker 1: she has such a great voice. She should work for Audible.
- 19:04Speaker 4: What's that?
- 19:06Speaker 1: Oh, the reading the books.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Somebody else says 666 is considered good luck in Chinese culture. Well,
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm not there. I'm here. Here means Satan. Yeah. Which is,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you know, not great. Right? Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 3: In fact, I filled up my car with gas and
- 19:24Speaker 3: I had 666 miles.
- 19:25Speaker 1: No way. So I drove off right away. I'm like,
- 19:27Speaker 1: I got to get this down.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I kind of like how Chinese culture has taken that
- 19:32Speaker 4: and made it a good thing.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah, good for them.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Like the number 13.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Taylor Swift changed that.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Gallons of gas does your car hold?
- 19:39Speaker 3: Not many, just is really good on gas. Isn't that cool?
- 19:43Speaker 3: A couple days ago, it was four or five days ago,
- 19:46Speaker 3: I had a pimple forming on my lip. And when
- 19:49Speaker 3: I was a kid, my mom would tell me, don't
- 19:52Speaker 3: pop your pimple. And then, of course, when it got ripe,
- 19:54Speaker 3: she would want to pop my pimple. So I was
- 19:56Speaker 3: trying really hard not to pop this pimple because, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 3: when you do it, it gets, you know, red, especially
- 20:01Speaker 3: when you do it too early.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It stays visible a lot longer. And sure enough, man,
- 20:04Speaker 1: I was trying to dry it out with alcohol and everything,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and now it's just this little frigging red dot, and
- 20:08Speaker 1: it's really annoying. And then I see this video that's trending.
- 20:12Speaker 1: This woman claims she didn't get a job after she
- 20:16Speaker 1: interviewed because she had a massive pimple on her lip.
- 20:20Speaker 12: I get to the interview and the guy's like, hi, like,
- 20:22Speaker 12: welcome to meet you. And I'm like, hi, nice to
- 20:23Speaker 12: meet you. I see his eyes look exactly like they look,
- 20:27Speaker 12: they go down. And then I had to bring up
- 20:29Speaker 12: the pimple. So I was like, also, like, please don't mind, like,
- 20:31Speaker 12: the big pimple on my lip.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Like, it literally popped out out of nowhere. And he was, like,
- 20:35Speaker 5: kind of laughing. He was like, yeah, like, no worries
- 20:37Speaker 5: about it. Like, it happens, blah, blah, blah.
- 20:39Speaker 12: The day after the interview, in the morning, I get
- 20:41Speaker 12: an email from And they freaking rejected me because of
- 20:45Speaker 12: my pimple. I can't even make this up. It says
- 20:46Speaker 12: something about like we take pride in appearance or something.
- 20:49Speaker 5: I was like, are you joking me?
- 20:50Speaker 12: Like they said it in the most subtle way.
- 20:52Speaker 5: It was about the pimple.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Subtle. Subtle way. That sucks though.
- 20:57Speaker 4: I think that's wild that they would say that's the reason.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't have hired her because she said subtle.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Maybe say she's not qualified or something.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's probably a real reason. So my pimple last night,
- 21:07Speaker 1: I have to have the table podcast today. You know,
- 21:10Speaker 1: the highly successful John J. Van Ness podcast, which is
- 21:12Speaker 1: also very camera driven, lots of video and stuff. And
- 21:16Speaker 1: I was asking my wife, is she having that aquaphor?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Cause I, Aquaphor like heals skin. And I thought if
- 21:21Speaker 1: I put it on last night before I go to bed,
- 21:22Speaker 1: my pimple could be gone. And it was downstairs. I
- 21:25Speaker 1: was like, I'm not going downstairs. I gotta forget it.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And then Blake says, my wife, she goes, maybe Peyton
- 21:29Speaker 1: has one of those little star things you can put
- 21:31Speaker 1: on your lip.
- 21:32Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Can I put one on my lip?
- 21:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I definitely can give you a pimple patch.
- 21:36Speaker 3: I have one here.
- 21:37Speaker 5: I think it's not a star though.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Will it stay on the whole, like I want to
- 21:40Speaker 1: wear it in the podcast.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 1: If I put it on today, right now, Because it's
- 21:45Speaker 1: medicine too, right? Or no?
- 21:46Speaker 5: Yeah, it has like hydrochloric acid in it.
- 21:49Speaker 1: But now it's not a pimple anymore. Now it's like
- 21:52Speaker 1: a wound. Still though, I want to put it on
- 21:54Speaker 1: for my podcast.
- 21:55Speaker 5: It'll still help. And it helps hide the redness.
- 21:59Speaker 1: So I want to put it on today whenever you
- 22:01Speaker 1: give it to me. But it won't fall off.
- 22:03Speaker 5: Well, let's test it for the rest of the show.
- 22:04Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Because I want to be able to like do this
- 22:07Speaker 1: podcast later when it drops in a couple weeks and
- 22:09Speaker 1: there's this thing on my face. I don't know. I
- 22:10Speaker 1: think it's funny. I think it's funny.
- 22:12Speaker 4: What would be funny is if you were in the
- 22:14Speaker 4: middle of the interview and it just kind of like.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Melissa, you got a superstition. Yes, I do.
- 22:20Speaker 16: So back when I was in high school, me and
- 22:22Speaker 16: my friends, we used to like when we would make
- 22:24Speaker 16: it through a yellow light, we would kiss the back
- 22:27Speaker 16: of our two fingers and like touch the roof of
- 22:29Speaker 16: our car as like a thank you for making or
- 22:31Speaker 16: for letting me go through a yellow light safely.
- 22:33Speaker 10: Right.
- 22:34Speaker 16: And I've always done it my whole entire life, like
- 22:37Speaker 16: since then. I'm 36 years old now. And I like
- 22:40Speaker 16: recently tried to stop and I can't like I go
- 22:43Speaker 16: through a yellow light and I'm like, oh, my gosh,
- 22:44Speaker 16: I have to do I have to do it. I
- 22:46Speaker 16: cannot stop myself. So I'm not like superstitious, but I
- 22:49Speaker 16: am like a little stitious.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Ritualistic. Yeah. A little stitious.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Don't stop it.
- 22:54Speaker 3: We're going to we're going to pick that one up, too.
- 22:56Speaker 1: That sounds good.
