- 0:36Speaker 2: them up. The place we are staying at is gorgeous,
- 0:42Speaker 2: the pool out back, gorgeous hot tub, the view, but
- 0:47Speaker 2: most of all the company. I have to say that
- 0:50Speaker 2: we have had such unincredible week weekend so far with
- 0:56Speaker 2: the first annual because I just found out we're going
- 1:02Speaker 2: to do this every year. Yes, it was my idea
- 1:06Speaker 2: and I'm so excited about it because I love pickleball
- 1:09Speaker 2: and I love my podcast family. So anyway, we have
- 1:14Speaker 2: had a great time in Tahoe, And what I was
- 1:17Speaker 2: going to say is the best part about it is
- 1:19Speaker 2: the people, and I am here with one of them.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Teresa.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Welcome Teresa from Golden Bachelor gosh, thank you so much, Christa.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm so happy to be here. Thank you, happy to
- 1:31Speaker 1: have you.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Okay, so we've played pickleball before together, Yes.
- 1:37Speaker 1: At your wedding.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And so I know you've played before, But have you
- 1:43Speaker 2: played since then?
- 1:44Speaker 1: No, that was the last time. Okay, I wonder why
- 1:48Speaker 1: now I play from time to time? Okay, then I'll play,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and then I go four weeks without playing. Yes, there's
- 1:55Speaker 1: no consistency, right, So someday I might get good if
- 1:59Speaker 1: I play. I continue to play. So you're you did great?
- 2:03Speaker 2: You did great. You were partnered with Leslie in the beginning, right, yes,
- 2:08Speaker 2: and then you actually got partnered with my heavy.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It was a thrill. I loved it so much. It
- 2:14Speaker 1: was a thrill.
- 2:16Speaker 2: He sure had a fun time. I think it was
- 2:18Speaker 2: in that game that he smacked the ball and smacked
- 2:22Speaker 2: Are you right in there?
- 2:23Speaker 1: I tell he swore he did not mean that I
- 2:28Speaker 1: saw it.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I kind of believe him. Uh. Anyway, have you had
- 2:32Speaker 2: a good time?
- 2:33Speaker 1: Oh? This has been the most incredible week. I have
- 2:37Speaker 1: loved every single moment of this. I've met people that
- 2:42Speaker 1: I will be friends with for hopefully for the rest
- 2:44Speaker 1: of my life. Like who I just oh, Cally, I love.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, she thinks I am the most incredible photographer,
- 2:53Speaker 1: she said. She was on the way back from the boat.
- 2:55Speaker 1: She goes, you know what, I have a really gorgeous
- 2:58Speaker 1: bikini on. She stripped down. I take my photo and
- 3:02Speaker 1: she's she's bragging about me everywhere. Oh my god, look
- 3:04Speaker 1: at She's so great.
- 3:07Speaker 2: She is so generous in terms of like so complimentary
- 3:11Speaker 2: because she's a literal freaking supermodel, like literal supermodel, and
- 3:18Speaker 2: she's like complimenting you on your photography. I know, she's amazing.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And Deanna and Jen and everyone on and on and on.
- 3:27Speaker 1: So I was I've been smiling this entire It's been
- 3:31Speaker 1: so good.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Me too. I love it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Okay, so.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Do you I know you had you were with a
- 3:42Speaker 2: man who played pickleball? Is there any PTSD there, like
- 3:46Speaker 2: would you date someone?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm wiping that from my mind completely. Okay, good. Yes, absolutely,
- 3:55Speaker 1: I want to be active and this is just so
- 3:58Speaker 1: much fun. So absolutely, I.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Feel like it is so fun and you can do
- 4:02Speaker 2: it at any age. I mean I learned from probably
- 4:07Speaker 2: the age age range of my teachers was seventy to
- 4:10Speaker 2: eighty years old. Really, I'm not kidding. They taught me
- 4:15Speaker 2: so much about how to play pickle and so much
- 4:18Speaker 2: about what is fun about it, like the social elements,
- 4:22Speaker 2: like girl time, I mean even couple time, couple's time.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know. I just love it for all of those reasons.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I have a confession. Oh, before we played, I watched
- 4:33Speaker 1: some pickleball videos and I was getting so confused. Here's
- 4:37Speaker 1: the five tips and tricks on pickleball that. Yeah, I'm saying,
- 4:42Speaker 1: how do I remember all of this?
- 4:43Speaker 2: I don't know if I It's really hard to remember.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It is complicated, but you'll get it the more you play.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's like anything, Okay, right, I trust here.
- 4:50Speaker 2: The more you play, the better, easier to come. Easier
- 4:53Speaker 2: it will come. Sorry, I've had some wine. Okay. So
- 5:00Speaker 2: Bachelor in Paradise have you been watching? Oh?
- 5:02Speaker 1: Absolutely, I've been watching. I love it so much. And
- 5:09Speaker 1: I was so fortunate to go visit Leslie again and
- 5:12Speaker 1: so I got to see the first her episode when
- 5:15Speaker 1: she had a date with Gary, and I was thrilled
- 5:19Speaker 1: for her, and thrilled for all the women who were
- 5:21Speaker 1: on of course, and all the men and so and
- 5:24Speaker 1: we while we were here, we watched episode five and
- 5:28Speaker 1: we watched part of it last night and part of
- 5:30Speaker 1: it this morning, and it's just I absolutely love it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I think it's so good, you know what. I like
- 5:36Speaker 1: a lot the captions that they have under everyone and
- 5:40Speaker 1: like days and confused. Yeah, it's like it's so clever
- 5:45Speaker 1: and photography is gorgeous. Absolutely, Isn't it said that?
- 5:50Speaker 2: Okay? So Bob and I were talking about it when
- 5:53Speaker 2: it first started, I think after the first episode, so
- 5:55Speaker 2: we recapped the second episode, and there are people in
- 5:59Speaker 2: Bachelorne who are definitely pureists, like they want to see
- 6:03Speaker 2: the same thing happen every season, right, And I think
- 6:07Speaker 2: because it's not in the same location and it's kind
- 6:10Speaker 2: of a different vibe, like some people are maybe thinking,
- 6:15Speaker 2: why don't you go back to how it was? For
- 6:18Speaker 2: I love it. I think that the cinematography or videography
- 6:22Speaker 2: or whatever you want to call it is really beautiful.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I keep saying that, like, oh my god, look at
- 6:27Speaker 1: that job. I think it's beautifulful, And you know, it
- 6:31Speaker 1: might be so much at once for people to take. Yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: they don't like change, right, but it's these are all great, creative,
- 6:39Speaker 1: incredible ideas, yes, and they're executed so well.
- 6:42Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm really enjoying it. And I love the
- 6:44Speaker 2: captions too. There was one where Zoe said I'm so
- 6:48Speaker 2: Gucci or I'm Gucci, and then in the caption it
- 6:51Speaker 2: said Zoe is not Gucci. So cute. I love how clever.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And then the sequences.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about the dream stuff. I'm not.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I wasn't such a huge fan because I'm like, listen,
- 7:06Speaker 2: these guys are not actors and actresses. We don't need
- 7:09Speaker 2: them to be playing out like a scene from a movie.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I just want to know what's happening for me at least.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But I get that, you know, some people enjoyed them. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 2: I just want to know. I guess I'm a purist
- 7:25Speaker 2: in that way. Is that it's all about the development
- 7:28Speaker 2: of the relationships for me.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I gotcha. But okay, the Leslie with the rose in
- 7:33Speaker 1: her mouth, okay, yeah, and then Gary, Oh they did
- 7:36Speaker 1: a dream sequence. Yes, I haven't seen that. Oh, okay,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I it's good.
- 7:41Speaker 2: No, it's fine, don't you're not It doesn't It doesn't matter.
- 7:44Speaker 2: I mean, I know what has happened since I just
- 7:47Speaker 2: watched it myself.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Okay, I get you not appreciating that, but yeah, I
- 7:51Speaker 1: do I'm embracing all of the changes, love them.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Good for you. Is there part of you that wishes
- 7:58Speaker 2: you were there, that had that you had done it?
- 8:00Speaker 1: You know what? Just a little bit in the beginning,
- 8:04Speaker 1: but really not. Ok Then, I'm just applauding them, and
- 8:08Speaker 1: I want them to have their day in the sun
- 8:10Speaker 1: and enjoy it and just enjoy watching them. So no,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I just I'm applauding them all and reading for them.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And yeah, I think I'm okay with it. Okay, I'm good.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Because were you asked to be on it?
- 8:23Speaker 1: I was. I was asked to be on it. I
- 8:25Speaker 1: went through the whole process, all right, and you know,
- 8:29Speaker 1: they ask you who you would like to be with,
- 8:32Speaker 1: and I just couldn't. I couldn't see myself with anyone,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and I didn't want to take anyone away from anyone
- 8:39Speaker 1: if that were to happen. So, you know, I just didn't.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I wanted to be true to myself, and so I'd
- 8:46Speaker 1: rather just watch it and enjoy it. And I've been
- 8:48Speaker 1: doing that.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Love that. So let's talk about that for a second,
- 9:02Speaker 2: because I feel like we mentioned it when we first
- 9:04Speaker 2: saw each other. This week. It's hard because Bachelor in
- 9:10Speaker 2: Paradise is full of people from the shows, and there
- 9:15Speaker 2: have been a lot of Bachelor's and bachelorettes that they
- 9:18Speaker 2: can draw from. There have not been a lot of Goldens,
- 9:21Speaker 2: so they only have a small population of people to
- 9:26Speaker 2: draw from from either Golden Bachelor or Golden Bachelerette. There's
- 9:29Speaker 2: only been one season for each, so that is hard
- 9:33Speaker 2: because you know, not everyone can leave and dedicate the
- 9:37Speaker 2: summer to you know, Bachelor in Paradise. And also a
- 9:41Speaker 2: lot of the people from the shows are in relationships
- 9:45Speaker 2: since they were on the show.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah, right, right, right, So many of the men are
- 9:49Speaker 1: in relationships. Yeah, so there weren't that many men left.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And then April goes and chooses Jonathan, so that took
- 9:56Speaker 1: another Golden person away.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you are so right.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So many of the men, thank thankfully found partners for sure,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and they're so happy.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And so it was the hope that maybe there would
- 10:11Speaker 1: be other people. Yeah, so far there haven't been.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so well, hopefully there will be. Hopefully there will be. Yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 2: you know, obviously we know there's a Golden Bachelor coming up,
- 10:20Speaker 2: coming up, and hopefully there will be another Golden Bachelorette,
- 10:23Speaker 2: and then maybe there will be another bachelor.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So many people, and if I go on, there'll be
- 10:28Speaker 1: so much competition. That's right.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Would you do it in the future, I would?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Okay, I would do it in the future.
- 10:35Speaker 2: If they do it again, I'd be.
- 10:37Speaker 1: The only I'd be the only seventy three year old
- 10:42Speaker 1: continuing with all these sixty year olds. Stop to arrest
- 10:47Speaker 1: my progression of my agent. Would we all like to
- 10:50Speaker 1: do that?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I would? Okay? So who are you rooting for? Which
- 10:55Speaker 2: couple are you rooting for? For the all? I know,
- 10:58Speaker 2: I know what the answer is, but let's tell.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Me and Gary rooting for them? Of course? And like
- 11:06Speaker 1: Gary is so charismatic, like he's really so to speak,
- 11:12Speaker 1: commanding the stage. He's got all eyes on him. Okay, good,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and so many Like I said, I haven't seen him,
- 11:18Speaker 1: okay good? And so yeah, he I don't know if
- 11:23Speaker 1: he's surprised by it, but he just came in and
- 11:27Speaker 1: there was an immediate attraction with Leslie. So I'm rooting
- 11:30Speaker 1: for them. And then I know that Kathy and Keith
- 11:34Speaker 1: are together, so maybe they'll be together, okay, And I well,
- 11:39Speaker 1: Nancy did go on a date with Gary, so I
- 11:42Speaker 1: could be wrong about Gary. And Leslie could be Gary
- 11:45Speaker 1: and Nancy. Okay, right, Faith just came on, right, so
- 11:50Speaker 1: she could be with someone. Is there's still and I
- 11:56Speaker 1: can't wait to see.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I'm really expection. Who do you think is approaching the
- 12:02Speaker 2: Paradise experience the best.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Way in among anyone in the enter anyway?
- 12:08Speaker 2: You can talk about the young Bucks or the Goldens.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So I really do love Kat Yeah, she's doing I mean,
- 12:16Speaker 1: she's got she seems to have her head on straight, right,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and so when she approaches down with what she's concerned about,
- 12:24Speaker 1: uh huh, he keeps on veering off track and she
- 12:27Speaker 1: gets in back to center. Yep, I'm looking at Jonathan saying,
- 12:32Speaker 1: what is Jonathan's role in this? Like, is he seems
- 12:35Speaker 1: like a wandering guy? What is he looking for? What's
- 12:38Speaker 1: his end game here?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Stirring the pot?
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he's stirring the pot. You know. Kathy plays a
- 12:44Speaker 1: really good role. She's doing things that she's never done before,
- 12:48Speaker 1: like taking a shot that was really nice, right, yeah,
- 12:52Speaker 1: I mean all of and then yeah, so many of
- 12:54Speaker 1: the young people. I'm intrigued. I'm just intrigued by the
- 12:58Speaker 1: relationships and oh my gosh, did you see the scene
- 13:02Speaker 1: with the birds and they're costumes. Oh my god, they're incredible.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I've seen the credible urgeons.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Really, I mean they each one out did the other.
- 13:13Speaker 1: And then beautiful, my gosh, Brian. So there was a
- 13:17Speaker 1: scene with Brian and his partner Parisa beautiful and they
- 13:23Speaker 1: do get the sweet and so they're on two different pages.
- 13:29Speaker 1: So Parisa starts by asking him what's your favorite color?
- 13:33Speaker 1: Really just to break the ice, but his head is,
- 13:36Speaker 1: you know what, we're not doing that, We're not doing it,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and he wanted to have this just completely romantic, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: I think most people are siding with Parisa, and I
- 13:46Speaker 1: really do see Brian's point in this.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I see sad. It's it's really good, Okay, amazing. What
- 13:57Speaker 2: about the money? Since I haven't watched what's has Jesse
- 14:00Speaker 2: said anything more about the money? And what do you
- 14:02Speaker 2: think about it?
- 14:03Speaker 1: Now? All he said is that it's going to get
- 14:05Speaker 1: to that point, but he really hasn't explained exactly. Like
- 14:10Speaker 1: it's so frustrating. There's so little reveals about it. It's
- 14:14Speaker 1: intriguing that you're going to someone is actually going to
- 14:17Speaker 1: win half a million dollars, but they don't say how
- 14:20Speaker 1: they get there.
- 14:21Speaker 2: They haven't told us. How so what do you think
- 14:24Speaker 2: about that? Do you think that that contained like a
- 14:27Speaker 2: romantic relationship, especially one that just started.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I think it probably does. I think that they're trying
- 14:33Speaker 1: to test the relationships to see which relationship is the
- 14:37Speaker 1: real deal and what's the true relationship. Yeah, so I
- 14:40Speaker 1: think that I know that in the previews they do
- 14:42Speaker 1: say Okay, from now on, there will be no more
- 14:45Speaker 1: new people. So the couple you're, the person you're with,
- 14:48Speaker 1: is the person you're going to be with, and you're
- 14:50Speaker 1: going to face every challenge with this program it. So
- 14:53Speaker 1: I would imagine you eventually get to the point where
- 14:56Speaker 1: you're considered for the half million dollars.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Maybe it's changing from Bachelor in Paradise to like Bachelor
- 15:03Speaker 2: Pad after they have solidified the relationships and then they
- 15:07Speaker 2: compete as a team for the money.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and that was a It seems to be a
- 15:12Speaker 1: complete surprise to everyone who's on the show, right, that
- 15:15Speaker 1: wasn't total to them beforehand. So imagine just being told okay,
- 15:18Speaker 1: now you could possibly win amazing.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Let me bring up something that I don't know if
- 15:24Speaker 2: I just don't know this because I haven't watched, but Susie,
- 15:27Speaker 2: I feel like just posted something on Instagram saying I
- 15:31Speaker 2: just found out about the money, Should I go back?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Something like that. I don't know if she was asking
- 15:36Speaker 2: or if she's going back. She hasn't gone back, she
- 15:38Speaker 2: has not gone Okay, I wonder if they're going to
- 15:40Speaker 2: ask people to go back.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Oh my god. Oh I didn't think of that.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Wow, like anybody who have who has already gone home.
- 15:48Speaker 2: But if they can go back and maybe be part
- 15:49Speaker 2: of the money.
- 15:51Speaker 1: That would not be fair. I would not get there.
- 15:54Speaker 1: You made the choice to go home. No, I don't
- 15:56Speaker 1: think you should come back. You should not be able.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Well they didn't make a choice, they didn't know.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but Jeremy. Okay, So Jeremy regretted not giving the rose.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Oh yes, I agree, yes, And oh my gosh, that's
- 16:09Speaker 2: kind of I love it. I mean, of course I
- 16:11Speaker 2: love all things Bachelor at what everything, I've watched everything,
- 16:19Speaker 2: and so it's kind of like a family to me.
- 16:20Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, I love No, I love it too,
- 16:24Speaker 1: so yeah. So oh yeah, So Jeremy and Bally are together,
- 16:28Speaker 1: and it's they have to be seen if they'll stay together.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well you have to be seen if everyone
- 16:32Speaker 2: to keep up, if you had to sum up your
- 16:37Speaker 2: dating life, right now, give me three words for what
- 16:39Speaker 2: that would be.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Oh, it's I'm open, okay to dating. Yeah, I'm I'm
- 16:46Speaker 1: really not actively pursuing.
- 16:48Speaker 2: You're not at I.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Am not actively inactive okay? So no, inactive right? No,
- 16:53Speaker 1: So I'm not on a dating website, which is what
- 16:57Speaker 1: I consider actively pursuing it, okay, And I'm very happy
- 17:01Speaker 1: with my life.
- 17:01Speaker 2: So wait, you think active is being on a dating website.
- 17:05Speaker 2: That's interesting to me, I guess I do. Yeah, So
- 17:08Speaker 2: you don't think the dating is like just meeting someone
- 17:11Speaker 2: out and about in your town.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Well, that's what I'm doing, Okay, So that's not inactive. No.
- 17:16Speaker 1: All I would say is that I'm extremely open to it.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I do want it. I do want a man in
- 17:21Speaker 1: my life. Yeah. I do think that having a partner
- 17:24Speaker 1: in this world is just really wonderful. And I don't
- 17:28Speaker 1: really want to live the rest of my life alone.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I don't want to do that. And so I'm just
- 17:34Speaker 1: saying that I'm doing it more with just an open mind,
- 17:38Speaker 1: going out into the world and maybe putting it out
- 17:40Speaker 1: there and telling people. Because now when people approach me
- 17:45Speaker 1: in the street and they just say hi. You know
- 17:47Speaker 1: that's I think it's the most wonderful thing in the
- 17:49Speaker 1: world that they say, Oh, we're so sorry, we didn't
- 17:52Speaker 1: mean to bother you, but it's never a bother. Yes,
- 17:54Speaker 1: it's been the greatest thing to meet new people and
- 17:57Speaker 1: so even to tell them and people have been saying, oh,
- 18:00Speaker 1: I know somebody. Oh I'm just hoping like that could
- 18:04Speaker 1: have happened, right, for sure, it could happen.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Please. I met my husband inter national television show and
- 18:09Speaker 2: we've been married for twenty two years.
- 18:11Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 18:12Speaker 2: So yeah, no, and you met somebody that you shared Yes,
- 18:16Speaker 2: I did a great relationship with for a while.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I did. It can happen.
- 18:21Speaker 2: It can happen. If they did another season of The
- 18:34Speaker 2: Golden Bachelorette, Yeah, would you be interested in that role?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Oh? Absolutely, really interested? Okay.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Absolutely, you're throwing your name in the ring.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I'm throwing it in the ring.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Okay, okay. And would you do anything differently than the
- 18:50Speaker 2: way that Joan did it?
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah? I would, Okay, how you know, I probably would.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I would be open to kissing a lot more, okay, Yeah,
- 19:00Speaker 1: and exploring it with each person and maybe being really
- 19:04Speaker 1: flirtatious and having a lot of fun. I know that
- 19:08Speaker 1: she held back and maybe she, you know, was concerned
- 19:11Speaker 1: about her family seeing her kissing someone. I'm really I'm
- 19:17Speaker 1: really open to that, and I'm affectionate and I would
- 19:20Speaker 1: like to see that and explore that. And yeah, I would.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I would get such a kick out of it. It
- 19:25Speaker 1: would be so much fun. Yeah, that'd be great.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Well, hopefully they'll do it. Oh, you know, I hope so,
- 19:32Speaker 2: I hope that from Golden Bachelor they will.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Golden Bachelorette to the
- 19:39Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Are you what are you? What are your thoughts on him?
- 19:41Speaker 1: Oh? You really want to know my thoughts? You guys
- 19:45Speaker 1: were well, okay, so you know that. Unfortunately, he did
- 19:49Speaker 1: say something, Yeah, tell us what age? He said that
- 19:53Speaker 1: his preferred age range was forty five to sixty. Yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I guess he didn't realize that the minimum age was sixty.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And you know what, I do want to say this
- 20:00Speaker 1: that if you look at all of the men who
- 20:02Speaker 1: are on Jones season, they are all with much younger women,
- 20:06Speaker 1: and I just think that's the way of the world.
- 20:08Speaker 2: You mean, the men who are now in relations.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And relationships, Yes, and it's not that I haven't been
- 20:14Speaker 1: approached by young men, but yeah, much younger men. It
- 20:18Speaker 1: seems like much younger men, which wouldn't work whatsoever. Yeah,
- 20:22Speaker 1: so you don't think you don't think that would work?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Oh no, like a thirty year old, that's what I
- 20:28Speaker 1: don't know. I don't think. So they can't be younger
- 20:30Speaker 1: than my son. I have a son from forty eight.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I can't be younger than my son. Got it? But yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 1: so he said that, But I think that when he
- 20:38Speaker 1: sees these women are gorgeous just down, yes, juftain gorgeous,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and I'm sure they're delightful and intelligent. Yes, And it's
- 20:47Speaker 1: going to make for such an interesting show. And so
- 20:51Speaker 1: he's going to say, oh, they're beautiful. Oh and I
- 20:55Speaker 1: didn't realize and how great they are.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he's What would you have said to him if
- 21:00Speaker 2: you were in that room with him when we said that,
- 21:02Speaker 2: I would have.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Said, yeah, absolutely, you shouldn't want a data as sixty
- 21:07Speaker 1: year old, because you know, I'm a seventy year old.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I've got this wrinkly skin and I've got no muscle tone,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and I'm just ugly, and we're all ugly. Absolutely shouldn't.
- 21:19Speaker 1: So I was just say, oh my.
- 21:21Speaker 2: God, mel Yeah, I don't think that was that was Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 2: I heard about that, and yeah, definitely.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I mean it's a thing. It just seems like it's
- 21:31Speaker 1: a thing.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So for him, for him, yeah, I think it's unfortunate
- 21:35Speaker 2: because I think there is so much beauty in women
- 21:39Speaker 2: who you know, like obviously it showed where his values are. Yeah,
- 21:45Speaker 2: and I hope that after that that it opened his
- 21:48Speaker 2: eyes to agism and to looking at women differently and
- 21:56Speaker 2: knowing that a beautiful woman doesn't have to be wrinkle
- 21:59Speaker 2: free and you know, with no gray hair and no
- 22:05Speaker 2: hip replacements or whatever. He said, you know, like with
- 22:08Speaker 2: all their joints intact right, and it's right.
- 22:11Speaker 1: It's just like prejudice in any other thing.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I know. I completely agree and like to prejudge based on.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Their age, on their age, or their color or their sexuality.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Just take each person for who they are and just
- 22:24Speaker 1: look at the beauty of that person, right, and doesn't matter, right,
- 22:28Speaker 1: I mean of people. And if that was a problem
- 22:31Speaker 1: for him that he wanted someone in shape, it could
- 22:33Speaker 1: be of any age and beautiful any age.
- 22:36Speaker 2: And I know people in their seventies that are really fit.
- 22:40Speaker 2: So okay, you know what I mean like that, No,
- 22:42Speaker 2: I'm going to be seventy two.
- 22:43Speaker 1: In a week, so and happy early birthday. Oh thank you,
- 22:46Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 22:48Speaker 2: You look beautiful. I mean, like, I think that I
- 22:53Speaker 2: really hope that he arrived at the Bachelor Mansion and
- 22:58Speaker 2: saw these women and thought, oh, I really put my
- 23:02Speaker 2: foot in my mouth.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And I hope that he apologizes. Yeah, and it's on
- 23:07Speaker 1: the show. I agree with you. I hope that they
- 23:09Speaker 1: they face that head on and they address that issue
- 23:13Speaker 1: the better and he apologizes. They better not to ignore
- 23:16Speaker 1: it because the whole world saw it. And I think that,
- 23:19Speaker 1: you know, he probably didn't even realize that that was
- 23:22Speaker 1: going to be seen anywhere, and.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Well it wasn't it was wasn't it a podcast?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Right?
- 23:27Speaker 2: Yeah? Like whatever, Like he should know. He should know
- 23:30Speaker 2: he's speaking on a public platform and anything you say
- 23:34Speaker 2: will be picked up, you know, like and go viral
- 23:37Speaker 2: or whatever. So you he he if.
- 23:41Speaker 1: He knew, if he didn't know, he knows, now, Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sorry if you think that you're going
- 23:45Speaker 2: on television and people aren't going to pick up what
- 23:48Speaker 2: you say on a podcast.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And I would say anybody who says they're not going
- 23:51Speaker 1: to watch it because of that, I think they're going
- 23:53Speaker 1: to watch.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I think, yeah, you're because they want to know what
- 23:57Speaker 2: he was going to do. But ages is a thing.
- 24:01Speaker 2: It is a very sad thing. I specifically remember Joan
- 24:05Speaker 2: saying on Golden Bachelor that she felt invisible, and I
- 24:11Speaker 2: hate that. I feel that. I feel that at fifty two,
- 24:14Speaker 2: you know, when you're surrounded by like younger people, and
- 24:18Speaker 2: even if you have you know, high vibrations or whatever,
- 24:23Speaker 2: I feel like I can feel myself becoming invisible as
- 24:28Speaker 2: I get older. So I hate that. I hate that
- 24:31Speaker 2: for anyone who feels that way, and for him to
- 24:34Speaker 2: make women who are older than sixty feel invisible more
- 24:38Speaker 2: so because of what he said, it just hurt. It
- 24:42Speaker 2: like makes me really sad. So I really hope he
- 24:44Speaker 2: learned his lesson.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And I will tell you being here this week with
- 24:47Speaker 1: younger people, yeah some of these people were my son's age.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeah are my son's age, and they treated us like themselves.
- 24:55Speaker 1: There was no age difference whatsoever.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Good.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I didn't feel like I was an outsider. I felt
- 25:02Speaker 1: like I was one of everyone and I and that
- 25:05Speaker 1: was so wonderful. Yeah, that makes me happy.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, a new season of Dancing with the Stars
- 25:12Speaker 2: is coming. Would you ever want to be on that show?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Yeah? No, but I couldn't. I couldn't. I have to
- 25:18Speaker 1: tell you why because Leslie. Okay, tell me, Leslie wants
- 25:21Speaker 1: it so badly, and there's no way that I would
- 25:25Speaker 1: get if someone asked me, I go no, no, just
- 25:27Speaker 1: get it to Leslie. Oh that's sweet.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Do you know I was on the show.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Oh my god, no I did. I'm sorry, don't apologize
- 25:39Speaker 1: you were.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I was. I was the very first one ever kicked.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's it. Why? Oh my god? After
- 25:50Speaker 1: how many? How many weeks?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Oh lord? I just did two two weeks congrastration, there
- 25:57Speaker 2: were six of us, okay, and now it's like fifteen
- 26:01Speaker 2: twenty people. So there were only six of us because
- 26:04Speaker 2: they really didn't know if it was going to fly,
- 26:07Speaker 2: if it was going to be something that people would watch.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I was a dancer, like a professional dancer. I dance
- 26:13Speaker 2: for the my wo and yeah, I got beat in
- 26:17Speaker 2: a dancing competition by Evander Holyfield.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Wow, It's totally fine. I loved the experience, so I
- 26:29Speaker 2: can say if Leslie passes it up for some reason,
- 26:34Speaker 2: and you get asked, if they're going to ask, you
- 26:38Speaker 2: should do it because it really was incredible. It must
- 26:41Speaker 2: be an incredible experience.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It's incredible.
- 26:44Speaker 2: But I will say I feel like back in the
- 26:46Speaker 2: day when it first started, it is definitely not as
- 26:52Speaker 2: labor intensive as it is now. Like they rehearse I
- 26:57Speaker 2: feel like twenty hours a day, not a week day.
- 27:02Speaker 2: And I think that Louis would come, my partner would
- 27:05Speaker 2: come to Veil on his own dime, and we would have,
- 27:12Speaker 2: you know, a few rehearsals, and then he would go
- 27:14Speaker 2: back to Utah and then we'd go to La maybe
- 27:19Speaker 2: a day or two before the show. It was so stressful.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I wish I would have had the rehearsal time. But
- 27:28Speaker 2: at the same time, I was kind of a newly
- 27:30Speaker 2: married woman. I wanted to still spend time with my husband,
- 27:34Speaker 2: and at that time, my partner was not out as
- 27:38Speaker 2: gay he is now. But there was like, you know,
- 27:41Speaker 2: this whole thing, this whole dynamic about your dancing very
- 27:44Speaker 2: seductively with a man with another man, and you know,
- 27:48Speaker 2: we were newly married, you know, for a couple of years,
- 27:51Speaker 2: and it's stressful in that regard, but it is so
- 27:56Speaker 2: much fun if you like things out of your boss,
- 28:00Speaker 2: out of your normal comfort zone or out of the box.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I think that it is such an incredible experience.
- 28:07Speaker 1: So if you're at the opportunity, oh my god, it
- 28:09Speaker 1: must should be such an feel like such an accomplishment
- 28:12Speaker 1: to do something like that.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, when you get kicked off first, you don't
- 28:15Speaker 2: really feel like it's.
- 28:16Speaker 1: An accomplishment today. That's great, No, it did.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It did feel good to actually learn something new.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know that other women on my show
- 28:30Speaker 1: would love to be on it. I'm sure so. And
- 28:32Speaker 1: I would root for anyone who got on, and I
- 28:34Speaker 1: would love to be in the audience and cheer them on.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Of course, anybody who wants says, go for it. Does
- 28:40Speaker 1: anybody gets offered, Yes, go for it?
- 28:42Speaker 2: Yeah for sure? Okay, awesome. Well, thank you Teresa so
- 28:46Speaker 2: much for Thanks everybody for listening to the almost famous
- 28:50Speaker 2: OG podcast.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Thank you so much, testing, thank you, it's been a pleasure.
