- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's of Vigeon podcast.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:20Speaker 3: We must have had a pretty good show yesterday because
- 0:22Speaker 3: it was repeated from two to four on the Sports.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Hull Friday night. At five thirty of the broadcast in
- 0:27Speaker 4: the Attleborough game.
- 0:28Speaker 3: There's a professional Gretty Welcome to Sharon High School. I
- 0:32Speaker 3: Mike Youse readable hock a mock league action tonight fifty fifty.
- 0:40Speaker 3: He's one of Jacoby Brissette's weapons. But is he a weapon?
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm going I know it. I know I like him.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I think he's dynamic. I don't think he is Mario Douglas.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you're talking about pop now now I'm talking about
- 0:53Speaker 3: the Mario.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I know it was Wes Welker a weapon, Yes he was.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Guys that averaged ten yards to catch are not weapons.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Troy Welcer not not good enough for Patriots Hall of Fame.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Because Evan loves to go around talking to guys in
- 1:06Speaker 4: the locker room.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Maybe Lazar's whispers in the locker room, you know, maybe
- 1:09Speaker 5: a little This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:13Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:16Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:19Speaker 2: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:23Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium, another edition of Patriots Unfiltered. It's Paul,
- 1:27Speaker 2: it's Alex because it's pickstay. We got a hurry.
- 1:31Speaker 3: She's not celebrating more, none of us. Oh no no,
- 1:34Speaker 3: but usually you only come in when you have something
- 1:36Speaker 3: to celebrate.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Duson Van'll be by later. But yesterday we made the
- 1:43Speaker 2: announcement that we're going to launch our Patriots Unfiltered newsletter,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and the reaction has been overwhelming, well received, a lot
- 1:50Speaker 2: of people emailing in trying to making sure that they're
- 1:52Speaker 2: part of the initial list. Send send list, I should say,
- 1:57Speaker 2: did you know about this, Alex?
- 1:59Speaker 7: I heard rumbling, but nothing formal. But newsletters are back.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we decided to come up with a newsletter. It'll
- 2:05Speaker 2: have clips of you know, like we'll do a couple
- 2:08Speaker 2: of highlighted clips of the show from that week. We'll
- 2:10Speaker 2: do our picks results, keep us all accountable, and then
- 2:14Speaker 2: we'll have other features within it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I just had to send the Picks to somebody. Yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 3: I don't like being in last place.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so we'll probably have you contribute to it as well.
- 2:25Speaker 2: But this will go out weekly to all or anyone
- 2:28Speaker 2: that emails into the show will be on the initial list.
- 2:31Speaker 2: And then if you want to opt out, you don't
- 2:33Speaker 2: have to get it. But I don't see why you wouldn't.
- 2:36Speaker 2: But yeah, we're going to start that in a couple
- 2:38Speaker 2: of weeks. Once we get it all put together. It
- 2:42Speaker 2: should be fun.
- 2:43Speaker 7: Good idea. Yeah, I support it.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, good. And then I have another announcement because we're
- 2:49Speaker 2: getting I was told that web radio at patries dot com.
- 2:53Speaker 2: The word web and radio are dated, you know, like
- 2:57Speaker 2: nobody cares about the web and nobody cares about radio anymore. Sorry, Paul, uh, So,
- 3:02Speaker 2: we've changed our email address.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Would disagree.
- 3:07Speaker 2: We've changed. We've changed our email address to podcasts at
- 3:11Speaker 2: Patriots dot com. Now, if you have web radio already
- 3:15Speaker 2: locked in somehow and you send it to that address,
- 3:18Speaker 2: we're still going to get your emails, so don't worry
- 3:20Speaker 2: about that. But from now on you're going to hear
- 3:22Speaker 2: us saying send your emails to podcasts at Patriots dot com.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Take take an email, Yeah, but either way, if you
- 3:31Speaker 2: send it to either one, it'll all go to the
- 3:33Speaker 2: same place, so you'll be fine. But we've got to
- 3:36Speaker 2: get with the times. I'm told podcasts is more appropriate
- 3:41Speaker 2: and makes more sense to actually what we're doing these days.
- 3:45Speaker 2: So podcasts at Patriots dot com is our new email address. Current,
- 3:51Speaker 2: a lot of changes, TTX hotline, a lot of stuff happening, Paul,
- 3:55Speaker 2: you don't like change.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I don't like change for change sake. No, No, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: like the newsletter. And you know if we have different
- 4:02Speaker 3: sponsors obviously, yeah change, Yeah, that's yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 2: We need a food sponsor, we need a lunch sponsor, right, yes, yeah, yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I mean it used to be James Pettigrew, but.
- 4:17Speaker 7: All these years of pizza time shout outs, surprise, no
- 4:21Speaker 7: one's come knocking.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I know. Well, they probably feel like our reach goes
- 4:25Speaker 2: beyond their geographical territory. So you need a franchise. You need, like,
- 4:31Speaker 2: you know, somebody that can take advantage of the broad
- 4:34Speaker 2: reach of our shows, like Jersey Mikes.
- 4:37Speaker 7: Right yeah, but just the name Jersey Mikes in and
- 4:42Speaker 7: of itself, I feel like they couldn't. They would be
- 4:44Speaker 7: selling out.
- 4:46Speaker 2: They're all over the place now, right yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 7: But like the founders, Yeah, they'd be like Duncan Donuts
- 4:52Speaker 7: becoming the official sponsor of like Colorado, like a Colorado
- 4:56Speaker 7: team they have Dutch Bros.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Official sponsor the pregame show.
- 5:01Speaker 8: Yeah, we already got Duncan flowers, right, but I'm just
- 5:05Speaker 8: giving the show the BRONC sponsor their sponsors for other
- 5:09Speaker 8: teams too, just so I don't know if they have
- 5:11Speaker 8: the official pregame not as prestigious as the pregame show.
- 5:15Speaker 3: You know, let's let's not get mentally irregular.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And not that we wouldn't want Duncan to be the
- 5:20Speaker 2: lunch sponsor this show, but the menu is a little
- 5:23Speaker 2: limited when it comes to launch spot. Let's face it, right,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you know, Yeah we have hit us.
- 5:30Speaker 3: See now, I'm just having like Vietnam flashbacks because Tony's
- 5:34Speaker 3: always making fun of me about the Duncan reads, so
- 5:36Speaker 3: I have to pretend I don't know what he's talking about. Okay, Anyway,
- 5:41Speaker 3: you ever hear them make fun of me about every
- 5:43Speaker 3: time he does the Duncan dorants your show?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, Tony not on this show. Yeah. I was wondering.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yesterday it was it was a Bernardi Toyota read. I
- 5:51Speaker 3: was like, how come I don't get part of that one.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 5:54Speaker 3: You know, Sunshine dot Com driving away with a Toyota.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, I wish I was.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I get nothing.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I got one hundred and fifty thousand miles in my car.
- 6:04Speaker 7: I'm close to the two hundred club twenty nineteen two. Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 7: I can't wait. I hope they three.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Hundred, Yeah, three hundred. Do you get a little medallion
- 6:16Speaker 2: in your grill like the cadillaccent.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I get an engine light.
- 6:19Speaker 7: I saw Toyota. I saw Toyota. Someone send someone a
- 6:23Speaker 7: four hundred mile club sticker.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Really yeah, very cool.
- 6:27Speaker 3: I don't think I'll make four hundred.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm hoping anyway. So yeah, So Kenny, Lunch, Lunch Sponsor,
- 6:35Speaker 2: and Car Transfer all have new cars, and I'd like
- 6:39Speaker 2: mine to be electric, please because I have a long commute.
- 6:43Speaker 7: All right, because I don't need charge it for free
- 6:45Speaker 7: in the parking lot.
- 6:47Speaker 2: You can.
- 6:47Speaker 3: That's that's a PERKCT, That's what I mean.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Yeah, the rich get richer.
- 6:51Speaker 7: That's why there's so many teslas now last couple of years.
- 6:54Speaker 7: You gotta get here early though. Those spots fill up quick.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well I do. So I'm not worried about that.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I do, all right. It is Thursday. We are talking
- 7:04Speaker 2: about the Patriots game coming up in Santa Clara to
- 7:09Speaker 2: be exact, California against the forty nine ers, and the
- 7:14Speaker 2: practice reports, the first participation reports came out for both
- 7:18Speaker 2: teams yesterday. No big surprises, would you say, although not great.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You look at that Patriots report and every pretty much
- 7:27Speaker 2: every offensive lineman is on it.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's that's going to be significant to
- 7:35Speaker 3: the Cayden Wallace thing, you know. I I'm not sure
- 7:38Speaker 3: they're going to have even him available for this game.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I guess he was pretty limited yesterday if you have
- 7:45Speaker 3: to go with Tray Jacobs at left tackle. And this
- 7:48Speaker 3: is not any just this is a guy just got
- 7:50Speaker 3: claimed off waivers. He's been here, you know, for a month,
- 7:53Speaker 3: So that's not that's not ideal, as the kids like
- 7:55Speaker 3: to say, and you know, trying to pick things up
- 7:57Speaker 3: that quickly and being thrust right into the fire. So
- 8:00Speaker 3: that's that's something to keep an eye on. We'll see
- 8:03Speaker 3: today when Evan gets back. Maybe maybe he was able
- 8:06Speaker 3: to do Kayden Wallace was able to do a little
- 8:08Speaker 3: more in practice, and maybe he's more of a has
- 8:10Speaker 3: more of a chance to play. But on the positive side,
- 8:12Speaker 3: City so was in pads, as Evan said yesterday, and
- 8:17Speaker 3: it was at least limited at practice, he was at
- 8:19Speaker 3: least taking part in some and I don't think he's
- 8:21Speaker 3: done that yet until yesterday.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, So let's talk about this game a little bit
- 8:26Speaker 2: because I've seen some emails from people saying, Okay, obviously
- 8:31Speaker 2: forty nine ers have more talent, but what's the game plan, Like,
- 8:34Speaker 2: you know, you still got to come up with a
- 8:36Speaker 2: game plan. What's the strategy for the Patriots against this
- 8:39Speaker 2: forty nine ers team? You know, and make him go
- 8:42Speaker 2: the long I'm sure Evan and Deuce will want to
- 8:44Speaker 2: chime in on this as well. But you know, with
- 8:48Speaker 2: the Jets, they definitely had a strategy but it didn't work.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I want to limit big plays. You
- 8:54Speaker 3: make him go the long way, and I think offensively.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And this is Van Pelt spoke again this morning, and
- 9:00Speaker 3: I think he reiterated the same stuff that he said
- 9:02Speaker 3: last Friday after the game about sort of getting away
- 9:05Speaker 3: from the run too quickly, not running it enough early
- 9:08Speaker 3: in the game. So I'd be surprised if they didn't,
- 9:11Speaker 3: you know, sort of refocus on starting on the ground,
- 9:15Speaker 3: and they need a fast start. You can't fall behind this.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Team especially, But do you worry, and I think this
- 9:21Speaker 2: is what happened with the Jets game, and I don't
- 9:23Speaker 2: really blame them too much. Do you worry that you
- 9:26Speaker 2: go into that game having two games under your belt, Well,
- 9:29Speaker 2: you did establish the run, you do you do want
- 9:32Speaker 2: to get a fast start. You don't want to have
- 9:33Speaker 2: an early three and out, And you worry, like, if
- 9:36Speaker 2: we just show our cards with the run, they're going
- 9:40Speaker 2: to stop that. So we have to be a little
- 9:41Speaker 2: bit you know, creative.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I don't. I mean, that's the only thing that they've
- 9:47Speaker 3: done at a reasonable lesson. I know, I have those
- 9:50Speaker 3: two running backs break tackles. So give them opportunities to
- 9:53Speaker 3: break tackles and see if you can get off to it.
- 9:55Speaker 3: You know, you get a scoring drive early in the
- 9:57Speaker 3: game and maybe take a lead, but you can't fall
- 10:00Speaker 3: behind multiple scores right away the way they did against
- 10:03Speaker 3: the Jets. It'll really snowball against this offense and this team.
- 10:08Speaker 3: And then they run the ball so effectively San Francisco
- 10:12Speaker 3: that even if they have a lead and they get conservative,
- 10:14Speaker 3: they're still going to have a chance to continue their production.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Even with McCaffrey out. They had this kid, what was
- 10:21Speaker 2: he a street free agent or a seventh round pick
- 10:23Speaker 2: or something.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Like that, and he was not drafted free agent a
- 10:25Speaker 3: couple years ago.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, he was tearing it up last week.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's a it's a good system and they
- 10:31Speaker 3: run it well, and you know, and give him credit
- 10:33Speaker 3: to I mean, he was over one hundred yards the
- 10:35Speaker 3: first two weeks. I think he had eighty some odd
- 10:37Speaker 3: yards last week. Jordan Mason, give him, you know, his props.
- 10:42Speaker 3: He's run the ball well.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yep. So as we say, it comes Duce Patriot League champion. Hey, Matt,
- 10:49Speaker 2: can we get the monitor turned down over here? He
- 10:54Speaker 2: goes into the mike is back from the locker room today. Yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 2: it's a little subdued in there.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, you feel like you needed to help us.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I know I felt.
- 11:12Speaker 5: No, no, I you know, Paul, there were some people
- 11:14Speaker 5: yesterday pointing out a tweeting at us.
- 11:16Speaker 4: That we need to keep you in check. Actually, yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 4: you get tacked on that one.
- 11:20Speaker 3: I heard what happened, like a tweet to me.
- 11:25Speaker 5: You and Evan like someone's got to keep Paul in check,
- 11:27Speaker 5: and like what are they talking about the negativity?
- 11:29Speaker 3: I need to be I need to be kept in check.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but I know it was.
- 11:33Speaker 5: A little quiet today in the locker room Remandre Fumbles
- 11:37Speaker 5: asking about that Devon Godcha talking about the run against
- 11:41Speaker 5: San Francisco. I mean, I think that was the theme
- 11:43Speaker 5: with the defensive coaches too, you know, being ready to
- 11:45Speaker 5: to buckle your chin, strap up, and be ready for
- 11:48Speaker 5: a physical sixty minute game.
- 11:49Speaker 2: So so the declaring that they're gonna you know, stab,
- 11:52Speaker 2: try to establish a run. This this is what we
- 11:54Speaker 2: were just talking about, like what should be the game
- 11:57Speaker 2: plan at least in that first quarter against the forty
- 12:01Speaker 2: nine ers, because like Paul said, you want to start
- 12:03Speaker 2: out fast, you don't want to fall behind. Yeah, but
- 12:07Speaker 2: the only card you really have to play on offense
- 12:11Speaker 2: is the run game, right, So like the forty nine
- 12:12Speaker 2: ers are like, Okay.
- 12:13Speaker 5: I know, you know, it's hard to prescribe go out
- 12:15Speaker 5: there and spread them and just throw the ball all
- 12:17Speaker 5: over the field, as much as you might think that
- 12:19Speaker 5: that might make sense not to run into them, but yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 5: I think I think Patriots kind of have to do
- 12:23Speaker 5: what the Patriots do maybe and they know it's.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Maybe not a route to victory.
- 12:27Speaker 5: But we were talking maybe you can be plucky and
- 12:29Speaker 5: and try to keep it close. And you know, I
- 12:31Speaker 5: think it just comes down to Remandra able to run
- 12:33Speaker 5: the ball with him and then get him going and
- 12:35Speaker 5: kind of get him and Gibson going one two. But
- 12:37Speaker 5: it's hard to really ask them to spread it out
- 12:40Speaker 5: and let you Kobe throw it.
- 12:42Speaker 4: To all this guys.
- 12:42Speaker 5: And you know, I mean, I think that's kind of
- 12:43Speaker 5: what they tried to do a little bit last week,
- 12:45Speaker 5: and we saw that it didn't really what.
- 12:47Speaker 2: About you know, I was watching the Bills game Monday
- 12:49Speaker 2: night and there were two plays that they ran. They
- 12:52Speaker 2: were the same play but two different guys, and it
- 12:54Speaker 2: was just a little running back leak out to the
- 12:57Speaker 2: left side and both times the guy was wide open
- 13:00Speaker 2: on the sideline for like fifteen yard games. You know,
- 13:03Speaker 2: like high percentage pass happened really fast. You know, it
- 13:07Speaker 2: didn't take it took like, you know, two seconds to
- 13:09Speaker 2: get out of Josh, but it worked both times. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 2: something like that high percentage you know, pass equals run
- 13:17Speaker 2: type of plays. You know, can can they do that? Well?
- 13:20Speaker 5: I mean AVP said, fuck getting the ball out quick today?
- 13:22Speaker 5: Right the reading I don't about reading the coverage high.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Or anything like that.
- 13:26Speaker 5: But but yeah, getting the balls quick, and you know,
- 13:30Speaker 5: they all seem fully aware of what they're going up against. So,
- 13:32Speaker 5: I mean, I enjoyed hearing Covington and a VP kind
- 13:34Speaker 5: of just talk about how established this offense is and
- 13:37Speaker 5: for San Francisco, and they know what they want to
- 13:39Speaker 5: do and it doesn't really seem to matter what personnel.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Their offense is a whole. I'm talking about right now,
- 13:44Speaker 2: our offense against their defense, and their defense is pretty
- 13:47Speaker 2: established as well, you know, and that's what I'm worried about.
- 13:51Speaker 2: You know, they've got those guys on the edges that
- 13:55Speaker 2: can ruin games.
- 13:58Speaker 4: So Warner Frev Warner's one my favorite watching the game.
- 14:01Speaker 4: He's just like an ogre out there, like the way
- 14:02Speaker 4: he was.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I mean, he's so instinctive, you know. And then you've
- 14:07Speaker 2: got our offensive line that's all beat up.
- 14:10Speaker 7: And there's a scenario where our left tackle on our
- 14:13Speaker 7: left guard this week are were signed off waivers last week.
- 14:16Speaker 9: You know.
- 14:16Speaker 7: So it's like you said, it's it's gonna be hard
- 14:20Speaker 7: to really get a lot going on the passing game
- 14:22Speaker 7: if we're if the quarterbacks are just getting totally pressured
- 14:26Speaker 7: constantly like they were against the Jets. So I don't know.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Trey Jacobs was a popular guy in the locker room
- 14:31Speaker 5: this morning, a lot of guys you know, talking to
- 14:33Speaker 5: him about potentially having a start. I mean, I guess
- 14:35Speaker 5: we'll see with Kaden Wallace. Kate Wallace walked through. He
- 14:37Speaker 5: wasn't limping or anything, no wrap on his knees, So
- 14:39Speaker 5: I don't know. Maybe he's uh trending positively, but it
- 14:43Speaker 5: doesn't seem like he's going to get a full dose
- 14:45Speaker 5: of reps this week. So it's just it just seems like,
- 14:47Speaker 5: whack them all with the offensive line right now for
- 14:49Speaker 5: a variety of whether there was performance, whether it was
- 14:52Speaker 5: dumb mistakes.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Now it's injuries.
- 14:54Speaker 5: You know, they just they just can't seem to find
- 14:56Speaker 5: a group and leave him in there, which we joked
- 14:58Speaker 5: about in the training camp cast. I remember Tamara saying like,
- 15:00Speaker 5: it'd be great if we could just settle on some guys,
- 15:02Speaker 5: And it felt like after like three or four practices
- 15:04Speaker 5: it was all right, this is what they're rolling with,
- 15:06Speaker 5: and then the injury started and the juggling started, and
- 15:09Speaker 5: it doesn't seem like it stops.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Well, you know. I had to call out for the newsletter,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and everyone started emailing in that hasn't emailed in in
- 15:15Speaker 2: a long time, and one of them was remember Michelle,
- 15:18Speaker 2: who I love to call Sherilotta.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 2: She emailed in says, I haven't engaged since Andy left,
- 15:25Speaker 2: but I haven't missed an episode.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Should I take that personally?
- 15:32Speaker 3: It's a disengagement, but she was a little sweet on Andy,
- 15:35Speaker 3: or it's just.
- 15:35Speaker 10: A huge exactly since the Patriots Jess game started at
- 15:38Speaker 10: two twenty.
- 15:39Speaker 2: On my side of the world, I almost spat out
- 15:41Speaker 2: my morning coffee when Paul went off. I just gave
- 15:44Speaker 2: you two names. I wholeheartedly agreed with him. More could
- 15:47Speaker 2: have been done in the off season regards to the
- 15:49Speaker 2: old line, but for now, this is her line, and
- 15:52Speaker 2: I wanted to get to this year because you just
- 15:54Speaker 2: said it. Her line would be low at left tackle
- 15:58Speaker 2: so or so Andrews and when you at guard and
- 16:02Speaker 2: Wallace at right tack. And I kind of agree with that.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Although Wallace has to hurt me. I don't even know
- 16:07Speaker 2: if he's going to play, but I think to me,
- 16:10Speaker 2: that makes the most sense of where they could settle.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I think that's that has the potential to be the best,
- 16:17Speaker 3: but they're not. That's not ready.
- 16:18Speaker 2: No, it's not ready.
- 16:19Speaker 4: He got to get a low back ready.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And could he be more ready at right tackle than sure?
- 16:26Speaker 3: But like when he's ready, I'd be willing to do that,
- 16:29Speaker 3: like this week. You know, if you wanted to do it,
- 16:33Speaker 3: would you move Robinson to left guard and put a
- 16:35Speaker 3: when you at right guard and then have Wallace at
- 16:37Speaker 3: right tackle. I don't know, Like, I don't know if
- 16:39Speaker 3: that makes you better. I don't. I like Robinson better
- 16:43Speaker 3: than so I will say that I like the draft
- 16:45Speaker 3: pick I think he has. I think he has more potential,
- 16:50Speaker 3: But by no means you know, I'm I'm not an
- 16:54Speaker 3: expert on the offensive line play. I just I like
- 16:56Speaker 3: the power that I've seen from Robinson.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I would agree with that.
- 16:59Speaker 5: I mean, I was a little bit surprised was so
- 17:02Speaker 5: early on with some of his performances. He just seemed
- 17:04Speaker 5: like he couldn't he was getting all thrown around, like
- 17:06Speaker 5: he just seemed like he didn't really have a sense
- 17:08Speaker 5: of space.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And I think Robinson has a.
- 17:10Speaker 5: You know, ways to go in pass protection, but he's
- 17:13Speaker 5: placed with an edge and he finishes and I mean
- 17:14Speaker 5: he's you know, he's gotten maybe a little bit more
- 17:17Speaker 5: of a spotlight than some of those offensive line guys
- 17:19Speaker 5: who on Twitter are always putting together cutups of him where
- 17:21Speaker 5: it's like, wait, we got killed, but.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Yet there's here's forty plays and you know Laden Robinson,
- 17:25Speaker 4: I guess to put all right, But did you guys
- 17:29Speaker 4: see a Sailor making it into the Baldi's breakdown?
- 17:31Speaker 5: I put it in slack actually, so Bally, you know
- 17:34Speaker 5: Brian body knows who Sailor is, right.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I don't.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I mean, well, due respect, I don't see those breakdowns either.
- 17:39Speaker 5: It's funny he did a little breakdown on h on
- 17:41Speaker 5: the game here. I think it was Polk's touchdown and
- 17:44Speaker 5: then like Ballinger then and who's this girl here? And
- 17:46Speaker 5: you see Sailor run over to like shoot Polke after
- 17:48Speaker 5: this seller is one of our social media people here,
- 17:51Speaker 5: and he's like this girl she's getting that shot, like
- 17:54Speaker 5: you know, it started like breaking her down, saying what
- 17:55Speaker 5: a good job she was doing, and aggressive right in
- 17:57Speaker 5: front of the.
- 17:58Speaker 2: We gotta we gotta use that.
- 18:00Speaker 4: I put it in slack. I'll recirculate it.
- 18:02Speaker 2: No, I mean on our social accounts. We need to
- 18:05Speaker 2: share that. OK, so it.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Doesn't love the spotlight. But she's been doing awesome stuff
- 18:09Speaker 7: with the TikTok. She's doing great with her She did the.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Arm wrestling too, which I think did really really well.
- 18:15Speaker 5: She beat a few Patriots because she's you know, Jack,
- 18:17Speaker 5: she's she's got big muscles. She was able to knock
- 18:21Speaker 5: off a couple of those big Patriots. But but no,
- 18:24Speaker 5: that was that was kind of cool.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So, as always, you can't make mistakes, you can't
- 18:30Speaker 2: turn the ball over. You have to be fundamentally sound
- 18:33Speaker 2: in this game. Get start off, don't beat yourself because
- 18:36Speaker 2: there's plenty of ways for them to beat us. So
- 18:39Speaker 2: if we can at least check off the box of
- 18:41Speaker 2: we didn't beat ourselves, that that helps. But it's an
- 18:45Speaker 2: uphill battle. But who knows, I know, I mean, there's
- 18:49Speaker 2: been an upset after upset this year in the NFL.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I'm just kind of sick of being at the place
- 18:53Speaker 5: where going into these games and Matt asked us for
- 18:55Speaker 5: our pregame keys, and like, I just I feel like
- 18:57Speaker 5: I've been stuck in neutral for the last couple of
- 18:59Speaker 5: years of like, just don't beat yourself, like just don't
- 19:01Speaker 5: make the stupid mistakes. Nobody's expecting you to go out
- 19:03Speaker 5: like it'd be nice to be like man, spread them
- 19:05Speaker 5: and shred them like like, that's not going to be
- 19:07Speaker 5: a key for this team.
- 19:09Speaker 4: It hasn't been since twenty nineteen.
- 19:11Speaker 3: They might have to take the ball away too. All
- 19:13Speaker 3: that stuff might not be enough. Ye yeah, they might
- 19:15Speaker 3: have to take it away like like against Cincinnati. Like
- 19:18Speaker 3: you did all of those things, but the two takeaways
- 19:21Speaker 3: are the reason why you won.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yep, you know, uh fumble at the goal line and
- 19:26Speaker 2: then fumble on special teams. Those were key.
- 19:28Speaker 4: How are you gonna all right?
- 19:29Speaker 5: Sitting next to Evan in that press box if brock
- 19:31Speaker 5: Purdy starts tearing off the Pagos.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Defense, where Evan's gonna lose his mind?
- 19:35Speaker 3: I think purty rock party.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I don't know when he's going to admit that he's
- 19:40Speaker 2: a pretty good quarterback, you know he is?
- 19:42Speaker 5: Man I and like I even like I found myself
- 19:44Speaker 5: going back Tom like is he really? And then every
- 19:46Speaker 5: time I actually sit down and watch him, I'm like
- 19:48Speaker 5: the guy just he just makes it wrung, he.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Makes it run, He's fits the ball where it needs
- 19:52Speaker 4: to be.
- 19:52Speaker 2: He's what I thought we were gonna get with Garoppolo. Yeah, sure,
- 19:55Speaker 2: And what it looked like, you know, before Garoppolo got
- 19:58Speaker 2: hurt in that first seas and that he played, he
- 20:02Speaker 2: looks very similar to me.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, i'd see that. I mean, they gotta
- 20:06Speaker 4: pay him, right, They're gonna have to.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Like I don't necessarily think it's the worst thing in
- 20:10Speaker 5: the world, but it's just always hard. You want to
- 20:13Speaker 5: when you pay a quarterback that money, you want to
- 20:15Speaker 5: you want to feel like this guy is a superstar.
- 20:17Speaker 5: And I don't know if you know, it's just as
- 20:18Speaker 5: hard to put person category.
- 20:21Speaker 7: But like he's so female, Like quarterback play is just
- 20:25Speaker 7: I don't know, it's not Drew Brees and Peyton Manning
- 20:27Speaker 7: and Tom anymore. You know, like there's the two elite guys,
- 20:30Speaker 7: and then.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It's JUSTO says to him, I can do it with
- 20:35Speaker 2: other guys. I don't have to pay him, you know.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Well, I feel like he looked for so long, you know,
- 20:39Speaker 5: and it just seems like this is a guy who's
- 20:41Speaker 5: able to stay healthy.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Which Jimmy wasn't really able to do.
- 20:44Speaker 5: And uh, you know, just giving him stability there and
- 20:46Speaker 5: how much do you value stability and experience now as
- 20:49Speaker 5: he's stacking it. So, I mean, I have nothing bad
- 20:52Speaker 5: to say about him. I just I think he's he's
- 20:54Speaker 5: just an interesting player. I mean, did you guys ever
- 20:55Speaker 5: feel that way about Brady? I mean this is probably
- 20:57Speaker 5: not I'm guessing no, because you guys watched all the
- 20:59Speaker 5: practice and you probably he had a sense.
- 21:00Speaker 4: That this guy's just good. But I know there are
- 21:03Speaker 4: a lot of people on the outside of Brady that
- 21:05Speaker 4: are you know, oh, he's just a game manager. What
- 21:06Speaker 4: does he really do?
- 21:07Speaker 3: I mean early on, early, I was gonna say, you're
- 21:09Speaker 3: talking like one two.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, No, I mean in two thousand, when he
- 21:13Speaker 2: was a backup. I have to be honest, I wasn't
- 21:16Speaker 2: like this kid's coming up. I was not there.
- 21:19Speaker 3: No, I wasn't either, but you definitely like, I wasn't
- 21:23Speaker 3: stunned when he made the team. I was shocked that
- 21:25Speaker 3: they kept four quarterbacks, but I wasn't really shocked that
- 21:30Speaker 3: he was one of them, because I thought he did
- 21:31Speaker 3: show promise in his first training camp. But Fred's right,
- 21:36Speaker 3: he was talk We talk about all this stuff every
- 21:39Speaker 3: day just like we do now. We were doing it
- 21:41Speaker 3: then and none of us was saying, oh, yeah, this
- 21:44Speaker 3: guy he's the air of parents. He's coming on. No, no,
- 21:47Speaker 3: And even in O one, when he was markedly better
- 21:49Speaker 3: than he was in two thousand, still I wasn't thinking
- 21:53Speaker 3: that way.
- 21:53Speaker 2: And you got to remember back then. One of the
- 21:55Speaker 2: first things that happened after Belichick became head coaches, Kraft
- 21:58Speaker 2: gave Bledsoe big extensions, you know, and it had a
- 22:03Speaker 2: big press uh press conference at the basement of the
- 22:06Speaker 2: Bank of Boston building because it was selling club seats
- 22:10Speaker 2: at the time. And uh, I remember the look on
- 22:13Speaker 2: Belichick's face, the sour puss because it like you.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Didn't realize that was like Monday.
- 22:18Speaker 10: Yeah, well, no Tuesday, Like you could tell he wasn't
- 22:22Speaker 10: one hundred percent on board with the decision.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, and quickly it changed, how quickly.
- 22:27Speaker 2: It yes, so but but all the focus was on Bledsoe.
- 22:31Speaker 2: That's my point. Yeah, you know, there was no it
- 22:33Speaker 2: was right right.
- 22:34Speaker 5: I can imagine those would have been some good shows, though, Paul,
- 22:36Speaker 5: if you had a spunky little co host who was like,
- 22:39Speaker 5: I'm telling you Drew's in trouble.
- 22:40Speaker 4: Yeah's gonna have this kidnapping it.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad that that didn't happen because I would
- 22:44Speaker 3: have really had a lot of clips that make me
- 22:46Speaker 3: have had to fight back because I you know, we
- 22:48Speaker 3: didn't do that, And I would have definitely been defensive
- 22:51Speaker 3: of Drew and what's this guy? And I know, I
- 22:55Speaker 3: know this stupid stuff. I would have been saying, So
- 22:57Speaker 3: I'm glad, I'm glad that doesn't exist, and Fred be
- 23:00Speaker 3: hit to back me up. It didn't take a lot
- 23:02Speaker 3: of games for Brady like for me to sell you
- 23:05Speaker 3: can't do it Drew.
- 23:06Speaker 2: No, No, that was not a discussion either on this
- 23:10Speaker 2: show back then because we were all in agreement.
- 23:13Speaker 3: You got to keep him in to me, like the
- 23:15Speaker 3: Celts game was.
- 23:16Speaker 7: That because of just like the vibe and how things
- 23:18Speaker 7: were looking and you don't want to break up like
- 23:20Speaker 7: the chemistine or what did you actually see, Like, No,
- 23:22Speaker 7: Tom is a better quarterback than Drew.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Oh No, I didn't see it that way. I just
- 23:26Speaker 3: thought that they were responding to him and they were
- 23:28Speaker 3: winning and like people forget like Drew was not even
- 23:32Speaker 3: available for like two months, like it wasn't even a.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Question, right and then by the time he was it was.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they were like six and two or seven and
- 23:42Speaker 3: one or whatever. I think it was six and two
- 23:45Speaker 3: in those eight games, and I like, I'm the biggest
- 23:49Speaker 3: Drew supporter that there is, and I was like, you
- 23:52Speaker 3: can't make the change now.
- 23:53Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean the only person who thought that you
- 23:56Speaker 10: should was Drew. You know, you didn't think you should
- 23:59Speaker 10: lose his job.
- 24:00Speaker 2: He had injured.
- 24:00Speaker 3: He had his boys in the media too, like you know,
- 24:02Speaker 3: like Nick Cafardo and Ron Borgis and Kevin Mannix, like
- 24:06Speaker 3: you know, they all were loyal to him.
- 24:08Speaker 2: But it wasn't like it wasn't like an outcry.
- 24:12Speaker 3: No, you know, no, it wasn't. I'm not diminishing the decision,
- 24:18Speaker 3: but it wasn't that tough of a decision. Now, when
- 24:22Speaker 3: he ends up going all the way and winning at all,
- 24:25Speaker 3: I think it became a no brainer. Like I think
- 24:28Speaker 3: people like I can't believe, you know, Bill had the
- 24:31Speaker 3: guts and the foresight to trade Drew. No, like there
- 24:35Speaker 3: was only one thing to do once they won the
- 24:37Speaker 3: Super Bowl. Yeah, but Brady would have had to have
- 24:39Speaker 3: fallen on his face in the playoffs for there to
- 24:41Speaker 3: be any chance that Drew comes back to New England,
- 24:44Speaker 3: and he didn't. He won the Super Bowl and was
- 24:47Speaker 3: the MVP.
- 24:47Speaker 2: And they gave him. You know, they redid his contract.
- 24:50Speaker 2: There were some in the media that said, oh, you know,
- 24:52Speaker 2: too soon, he really he's only done it one year.
- 24:56Speaker 2: That was true, yes, but I think also that was
- 25:00Speaker 2: probably a goods Obviously.
- 25:02Speaker 5: They redid his contract after into the two series, had
- 25:05Speaker 5: one year as a starter, two years in the league,
- 25:07Speaker 5: right did the super Bowl, and they gave him they
- 25:09Speaker 5: gave him a bump, they jump bump.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Do you think that was bills or is that?
- 25:13Speaker 2: I think it was craft end bill and it was
- 25:15Speaker 2: smart economic. You know, like if he had waited four years,
- 25:18Speaker 2: the price would have been a hell of a lot more.
- 25:21Speaker 7: I mean, what would he have been making all the
- 25:22Speaker 7: way back then as a sixth rounder, you know, like.
- 25:25Speaker 3: He was making nothing. I mean, they didn't really give
- 25:28Speaker 3: him a huge contract, but it was you know, they
- 25:31Speaker 3: didn't have to. It was two years ahead of time.
- 25:33Speaker 5: It's funny much time talking about maximizing quarterback on his
- 25:37Speaker 5: rookie deal and they were like one super Bowl and
- 25:39Speaker 5: they're like.
- 25:40Speaker 3: At that time, I think it was why I think
- 25:41Speaker 3: it was a three year deal. Okay, he signed, but
- 25:44Speaker 3: I don't I'd have to look.
- 25:45Speaker 2: At it maybe, And you know, at the time, you know,
- 25:47Speaker 2: Peyton Manning was the leader in the clubhouse, and he
- 25:50Speaker 2: was he had been in the league a year ahead
- 25:53Speaker 2: of and he was going to sign whatever he signed
- 25:56Speaker 2: for it was going to be huge, and they wanted
- 25:58Speaker 2: to get in front of that. I think, think and
- 26:00Speaker 2: get this done before you know, somebody raises the market
- 26:04Speaker 2: significantly like he did.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, well that it's interesting. I didn't realize that.
- 26:08Speaker 2: So anyway back to current current days, but I.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Do think Fred back to the Niners, I know what
- 26:16Speaker 3: your point is about. The other team knows that you're
- 26:19Speaker 3: going to run the ball, and you know you're setting
- 26:21Speaker 3: yourself up. I mean, I don't think that they know
- 26:23Speaker 3: you're going to run the ball anymore than anybody else
- 26:25Speaker 3: that they faced so far has known it, and they've
- 26:27Speaker 3: been able to do it in the first two games.
- 26:30Speaker 3: To me, it's about the start, and you know, the
- 26:34Speaker 3: throws that you're talking about to me are runs. If
- 26:36Speaker 3: they want to do that, that's fine, Like if you
- 26:38Speaker 3: want to like see if you can jump start things.
- 26:41Speaker 3: But I talk about this all the time. You know,
- 26:43Speaker 3: a little a nice little play action on first down.
- 26:45Speaker 3: They did that against the Jets and it didn't work.
- 26:48Speaker 3: But I'm not saying that just because it didn't work
- 26:51Speaker 3: against the Jets, you should just get away from it.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I think those plays that Fred described that the Bills used,
- 26:57Speaker 3: those can be like running plays that can get your
- 26:59Speaker 3: offense going.
- 27:00Speaker 5: You wonder too, if Romandre gets into a rhythm a
- 27:02Speaker 5: little bit too, you know what I mean, Like just
- 27:03Speaker 5: not they just felt like they were cold in the
- 27:05Speaker 5: beginning and they didn't really have something Like I just
- 27:08Speaker 5: I like him when he starts get going and gets
- 27:10Speaker 5: a couple of carries and you know, you.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Feel like, all right, he's involved.
- 27:13Speaker 5: I mean, I think that's a general thing with most teams,
- 27:15Speaker 5: trying to get your your best pieces involved early. And
- 27:17Speaker 5: maybe that's part of the problem last week, not getting
- 27:20Speaker 5: him involved more.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it could be going, you know, sticking on Remandre.
- 27:25Speaker 2: You know, he's been upfront about the fumbling issue, as
- 27:29Speaker 2: has has his coach. What if he does fumble again? Like,
- 27:33Speaker 2: what do we do here?
- 27:34Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean, you know, you know what Bill would do?
- 27:38Speaker 1: You know?
- 27:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 27:40Speaker 10: But even but at this point in Vermondre's career, I
- 27:43Speaker 10: think even Bill would have a hard time now.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Like but that's a really good question because what do
- 27:47Speaker 3: they do, Like do you just say, Antonio Gibson, you're
- 27:50Speaker 3: gonna get twenty five carries, thirty carries this week.
- 27:52Speaker 4: We're not running Downmondre.
- 27:54Speaker 3: You know that is a hard that's.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I mean, I'm all for like putting Ramondre out there,
- 27:58Speaker 2: give him a start and hoping he doesn't but what
- 28:01Speaker 2: if he does well?
- 28:02Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean he's fumbled in every game, so
- 28:04Speaker 5: you know, it's there has to be a certain point
- 28:06Speaker 5: where you're like, dude, like we got to do.
- 28:08Speaker 4: Something about this, Like we can't just keep you can't keep.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Talking about it. He was good in the locker room
- 28:12Speaker 5: today though. He answered a bunch of questions and then
- 28:13Speaker 5: one of the reporters he was walking onwy was just like,
- 28:15Speaker 5: you know, sorry, man, we didn't and he's like, no,
- 28:17Speaker 5: I put it on tape. I got to answer for it.
- 28:19Speaker 4: So he you know, he's got a good attitude about it,
- 28:21Speaker 4: at least as far as that. But the proof's in
- 28:23Speaker 4: the pudding.
- 28:23Speaker 5: And we all know how important turnovers are in this game,
- 28:26Speaker 5: and there'd be nothing worse than to come out of
- 28:27Speaker 5: this game and feel like another Remondrae fumble, Like how
- 28:31Speaker 5: do you It's a good challenge for Mayo you.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Know, I think one of the things we talked about
- 28:34Speaker 2: it is, you know, you get into the end of
- 28:37Speaker 2: your run, realizing when the fight's over and just doubling up.
- 28:40Speaker 3: On the ball and double in trouble and.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and just calling it a day. So, yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 2: he's got to do something.
- 28:50Speaker 3: You know when you say, like what do you do?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Like it's so different. Like Bill could could bench him, right,
- 28:56Speaker 3: not because Bill had the you know, the gravitized to
- 28:59Speaker 3: bench him, Like he could go no, but he could
- 29:02Speaker 3: go to a game and just say, well, we're going
- 29:04Speaker 3: to throw the ball fifty times today.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Right right, And you know what I mean long.
- 29:10Speaker 3: You know, so like Stephen Ridley fumbles the ball, well,
- 29:13Speaker 3: you know what, Steven, go over there and sit down.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Tom's going to throw it fifty times today because that's
- 29:17Speaker 3: what we want to do today, Danny Wood.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 29:20Speaker 3: It makes it a little bit easier. They don't have
- 29:22Speaker 3: like that that varied of a game plan to fall
- 29:25Speaker 3: back on. They have to run the ball. I mean,
- 29:28Speaker 3: you're not going to go out and what did they
- 29:30Speaker 3: run the ball like nine times the other night. They're
- 29:32Speaker 3: not going to win games doing that now. And I
- 29:35Speaker 3: know that probably sounds funny for me, of all people,
- 29:38Speaker 3: but like this offense cannot sustain thirty five forty passes
- 29:43Speaker 3: with the state of the offensive line right.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Now, speaking of the state I design. Speaking of the
- 29:49Speaker 2: state of the offensive line, Nathan in New York rights
- 29:51Speaker 2: in first he says, love the newsletter idea, sign me up.
- 29:54Speaker 2: And by the way, if you email the show, you're
- 29:56Speaker 2: signed up, or if you have emailed the show in
- 29:58Speaker 2: the past, you're signed up.
- 30:00Speaker 4: So what are you going to do? What's your contribution
- 30:03Speaker 4: to the news letter going to be?
- 30:04Speaker 7: You don't know, maybe like a little life settlement in
- 30:06Speaker 7: the bottom or food.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Food actually has to pertain to the show though, because
- 30:11Speaker 2: it's regarding it has to pertain to the show somehow.
- 30:17Speaker 2: But anyway, Nathan says, regarding the offensive line, this all
- 30:20Speaker 2: goes back to Bill's attempt to modernize the offense in
- 30:23Speaker 2: twenty twenty two, letting Ted Karas Shack Mason go, then
- 30:27Speaker 2: signing or drafting Cold Strange may have been hubris, but
- 30:31Speaker 2: it was also an attempt to get more athletic on
- 30:33Speaker 2: the line so they could run more stretch plays. Three
- 30:36Speaker 2: years later, the offensive line is a mess. The coach
- 30:39Speaker 2: and the quarterback are off the team, and they still
- 30:41Speaker 2: can't run outside zone. Once again, this is all Matt
- 30:45Speaker 2: Patricia's fault, kidding. Kind of a real offensive coordinat would
- 30:48Speaker 2: have told Bill to stop meddling.
- 30:51Speaker 4: I feel like they're neither here nor there with it.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Like I agree with the point about cold Strange, but
- 30:54Speaker 5: then you also have Michael Whnu, who you have chosen
- 30:57Speaker 5: to retain as well, so they never they made a
- 30:59Speaker 5: couple moves to do that kind of thing, but then
- 31:01Speaker 5: you still have kind of one foot in the outside
- 31:03Speaker 5: zone system and one foot still in the power zone.
- 31:07Speaker 4: So I don't know. It's so I don't know how
- 31:10Speaker 4: they're gonna pull it all together.
- 31:11Speaker 3: I totally agree. I think that the idea that they
- 31:16Speaker 3: had was very good. I think that they needed to
- 31:19Speaker 3: change the offense. I think that their execution of it
- 31:22Speaker 3: was very bad. And Cole Strange starts that because, yes,
- 31:29Speaker 3: the idea of an athletic guard over a Shaq Mason
- 31:33Speaker 3: or Ted Karris makes some sense, but it doesn't matter
- 31:37Speaker 3: if he's not as good as those guys. So that's
- 31:40Speaker 3: where I think they failed is the execution. And then Belichick,
- 31:44Speaker 3: I think compounded that by putting Patricia in a spot
- 31:48Speaker 3: where that he wasn't really qualified for. So now he's
- 31:51Speaker 3: trying to implement the new system and he doesn't really
- 31:54Speaker 3: know the new system right well enough to do.
- 31:56Speaker 4: It, so while also coaching the offensive one.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I think again I fall back on the on the
- 32:02Speaker 3: Brian Hoyer stuff from the summer, you know, and talking
- 32:05Speaker 3: to Brian a little bit about it, that like, this
- 32:09Speaker 3: is what they were doing, this is what we were
- 32:10Speaker 3: trying to do, and this was it wasn't a bad
- 32:14Speaker 3: move to say we got to get away from that,
- 32:18Speaker 3: you know, sort of tried and true. Josh McDaniels, Charlie Weiss,
- 32:22Speaker 3: you know, ron Arhoart offense, but they didn't necessarily a
- 32:26Speaker 3: have the people to implement it. That's the most important part,
- 32:29Speaker 3: and be the personnel. So I think that's where they fought,
- 32:33Speaker 3: and the email is exactly right. That's why they're still
- 32:37Speaker 3: sort of searching for those pieces because Bill didn't get
- 32:39Speaker 3: the right ones.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Can I throw a little take out there, kind of
- 32:42Speaker 4: take development, Well, Fred goes.
- 32:45Speaker 3: It's going to be long enough for Mike to have
- 32:47Speaker 3: to assume the host duties, all.
- 32:50Speaker 5: Right, that could be part of the newsletter too. Where
- 32:52Speaker 5: does Fred goes, actually, have you watched Jaws yet?
- 32:55Speaker 4: That should be the newsletter.
- 32:56Speaker 5: We watched Jos with her, and then just we just
- 32:58Speaker 5: like kind of do like a live running blog of
- 32:59Speaker 5: like Alex's commentary about jobs.
- 33:02Speaker 4: My thoughts. No, this is my take, and it's good
- 33:05Speaker 4: that Alex is here too.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Let's do it so you know what we kind of talked,
- 33:08Speaker 5: and I think it was kind of specific to the
- 33:10Speaker 5: Celtics last year, but generally talking about modern sports teams
- 33:13Speaker 5: that are kind of wishy washy, like week to week
- 33:16Speaker 5: like sometimes you just like and we kind of I
- 33:18Speaker 5: think have talked about it being maybe this younger generation
- 33:21Speaker 5: of like it's hard to find teams right now. It
- 33:23Speaker 5: feels like there's some of them, but not a lot
- 33:25Speaker 5: that are locked in seventeen games night after night. They're
- 33:28Speaker 5: walked in, and I just wonder if we're seeing that
- 33:30Speaker 5: a little bit in the NFL now too, with some
- 33:32Speaker 5: of these results that we've had, and even relating it
- 33:34Speaker 5: to the Patriots the other night, where it was like,
- 33:36Speaker 5: you know, I'm having a lot of conversations is this
- 33:38Speaker 5: who they are? And I think you say, well, it
- 33:40Speaker 5: was a bad night, but I also think that you're
- 33:43Speaker 5: seeing that a lot more in sports, and I mean
- 33:44Speaker 5: maybe you can speak to it a little bit with
- 33:45Speaker 5: the Celtics where some nights are just like what's going
- 33:48Speaker 5: on out there, like, you know, and even some of
- 33:49Speaker 5: the teams in the NFL too, I mean not Kansas City.
- 33:52Speaker 5: Kansas City seems to always, you know, have that clutch gene.
- 33:54Speaker 5: But I'm finding more and more with some of these
- 33:57Speaker 5: modern professional sports teams that I seem to bring it
- 34:00Speaker 5: every day.
- 34:01Speaker 3: You've seen it, like, and that's when they have to
- 34:03Speaker 3: have the clutch gene against teams that you wouldn't necessarily
- 34:06Speaker 3: think they'd need it, you know. And the Celtics did
- 34:09Speaker 3: the same thing. Like they went through the playoffs and
- 34:13Speaker 3: it was a breeze every series, but they were these
- 34:15Speaker 3: closer than you would have thought games, you know, ideal
- 34:19Speaker 3: the Indiana series, Indiana stinks and they were missing their
- 34:21Speaker 3: best player and here they are like three or the
- 34:24Speaker 3: four games are going down to the last possession, you know,
- 34:27Speaker 3: but they were better. And that's what Kansas City I
- 34:30Speaker 3: think did the other night. They just found a way
- 34:32Speaker 3: to win because they were a little bit better and
- 34:35Speaker 3: they got the lucky break with the no pass interference
- 34:38Speaker 3: at the end, And I don't think that that's insignificant.
- 34:40Speaker 3: That's part of it. That's part of it.
- 34:43Speaker 5: I just think like teams like the Patriots back in
- 34:45Speaker 5: the day had killers like Brady or will you know,
- 34:48Speaker 5: just guys that you knew they were locked in every
- 34:51Speaker 5: single night and they were making sure everybody else was
- 34:53Speaker 5: locked in. And I just I'm having a hard time
- 34:55Speaker 5: finding a lot of teams like that right now in
- 34:57Speaker 5: modern sports. Like I mean, I don't know what your
- 34:59Speaker 5: experience like watching the Celtics game in and game out,
- 35:01Speaker 5: if there are.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Games where you're just like, what is why are they?
- 35:05Speaker 2: Like?
- 35:05Speaker 4: This isn't them? You know, I think those games happen
- 35:07Speaker 4: more frequently.
- 35:08Speaker 7: I would say last season for the Celtics, not as much.
- 35:12Speaker 3: We're definitely no, we're talking about an NFL. It's an
- 35:16Speaker 3: NFL topic.
- 35:17Speaker 7: I promise I didn't bring up the basketball, but I
- 35:20Speaker 7: don't know. It's just like also hard for me to
- 35:22Speaker 7: like really think they were I think the Patriots scenes
- 35:25Speaker 7: you're talking about were just ready to go, and they
- 35:27Speaker 7: just didn't look ready this week. Chalk it up to
- 35:29Speaker 7: maybe only having walkthroughs all week and maybe like touching
- 35:33Speaker 7: back on the Remandre situation we were just talking about,
- 35:36Speaker 7: like maybe that's why they didn't come out of the gates,
- 35:38Speaker 7: just pounding, Like how ready can you get when you
- 35:41Speaker 7: don't practice all week, it's a short week, you're traveling.
- 35:45Speaker 7: I don't know, I'm not.
- 35:47Speaker 3: And I also think there's nobody that has more respect
- 35:50Speaker 3: for like the three four Patriots than me and Fred,
- 35:53Speaker 3: you know, and we're not alone, but I'm just saying
- 35:56Speaker 3: we have a tremendous amount of respect. I think you're
- 35:58Speaker 3: forgetting some of the incredibly oddly difficult games, you know,
- 36:04Speaker 3: like going down to Miami and losing on a Monday
- 36:06Speaker 3: night game to a two win team late in the season,
- 36:09Speaker 3: going to Houston, first ever game against the Houston Houston Texans,
- 36:13Speaker 3: Like you find yourself in overtime against this terrible team.
- 36:18Speaker 3: You know, generally they found a way to win those games,
- 36:20Speaker 3: but it happens. It's hard to have, like you're full
- 36:26Speaker 3: throttle for seventeen games. Is that the Ben Watson who
- 36:29Speaker 3: was Daniel Graham Daniel Graham tying touchdown right right on
- 36:33Speaker 3: a fourth down at the end of the game.
- 36:35Speaker 4: I guess I knew it was.
- 36:36Speaker 2: It was a tight end, that's all I know.
- 36:39Speaker 5: If it's in their first maybe I'm spoiled.
- 36:44Speaker 3: To you want to really get get into it. In overtime,
- 36:48Speaker 3: Houston took over. I want to say on the Patriots,
- 36:51Speaker 3: like thirty five yard line, like basically already in field
- 36:54Speaker 3: goal range to win, and the Patriots knocked him out
- 36:56Speaker 3: of field goal range. That's like the clutch.
- 36:59Speaker 5: Gene they And this was also the birth of the
- 37:02Speaker 5: nod where you would have like a field goal. There
- 37:04Speaker 5: was no nod that day, but like there was a
- 37:06Speaker 5: field goal in the first possession of the game.
- 37:09Speaker 2: You could just tell it.
- 37:10Speaker 3: You could just tell by the way Johnson opening kickoff
- 37:12Speaker 3: against Cleveland.
- 37:13Speaker 4: I'm done.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Now when you forget stuff with like your wife and
- 37:17Speaker 7: your family do they pull this up and they're like,
- 37:19Speaker 7: we know you have a good memory.
- 37:21Speaker 5: I can't remember the two thousand and four Patriots, no problem,
- 37:23Speaker 5: But you didn't get bread at the store.
- 37:24Speaker 3: You're listening in my house Monday night?
- 37:29Speaker 4: What am I doing?
- 37:30Speaker 3: It's like five minutes in. I was like, what did
- 37:32Speaker 3: I do?
- 37:32Speaker 4: What am I even husband together?
- 37:34Speaker 3: How did I get into walked right into it? So stupid?
- 37:39Speaker 3: I was so like, no, we were just sort of correlating,
- 37:45Speaker 3: like bringing it you know, bringing the intensity level like
- 37:48Speaker 3: was Mike was saying, like a lot of people have
- 37:50Speaker 3: asked him, do you think Thursday night for the Patriots,
- 37:53Speaker 3: was that what they are or was that an outlier?
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah? Well you figure, you know, you wonder we see
- 37:58Speaker 2: jirod Mayo at the press conferences and he's pretty low
- 38:03Speaker 2: key guy, right, you know, but being a linebacker, being
- 38:07Speaker 2: from the defensive side of the ball, you wonder behind
- 38:09Speaker 2: the scenes if he's like, you know this week really
- 38:14Speaker 2: you know.
- 38:14Speaker 4: Yeah, locked in, yeah, and serious.
- 38:16Speaker 5: And I think a lot of those guys have that
- 38:18Speaker 5: side of I mean, I've seen plenty of guys that.
- 38:20Speaker 5: I mean, you hear a lot of hockey ers like, oh,
- 38:22Speaker 5: nicest guy in the world, but you get on the
- 38:23Speaker 5: ice and it's like, you know, yeah, wants to kill
- 38:25Speaker 5: somebody for no reason, you know, alf Samuel cent or so.
- 38:29Speaker 2: You wonder that if they come out fired up, if
- 38:31Speaker 2: they know at least they're running around, you know, on
- 38:34Speaker 2: the on the defensive side of the ball, running around
- 38:37Speaker 2: to the ball and and you know, tackling well.
- 38:40Speaker 5: And I wonder it's it's a San Francisco's where they're like,
- 38:43Speaker 5: here come the Patriots, Like you know, ten point favorite,
- 38:46Speaker 5: It's like, are they are they going to be able
- 38:47Speaker 5: to bring it? I mean there, I have all the
- 38:49Speaker 5: respect in the world for that team.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Why I think it's such a bad thing that they
- 38:52Speaker 3: lost that game to the Rams.
- 38:53Speaker 4: Right, They're they're not going to have that.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Yeah, well if they do, and there's some they have
- 38:59Speaker 3: some trouble there because I know that they've I know
- 39:02Speaker 3: they missing a boatload of talent. I'm not dismissing the
- 39:04Speaker 3: amount of quality players that aren't playing. But if you
- 39:08Speaker 3: can't like sort of refocus and come come, come forth
- 39:13Speaker 3: with a better effort when you're one in two and
- 39:16Speaker 3: you and you have Super Bowl aspirations, like Baltimore played
- 39:19Speaker 3: a pretty desperate game, I would say in Dallas, you know,
- 39:24Speaker 3: at zero and two, they recognize the urgency of the situation.
- 39:28Speaker 3: You know, they didn't play great for sixty minutes. They
- 39:32Speaker 3: were sloppy in the fourth quarter, but I thought the
- 39:35Speaker 3: the urgency was apparent when you watch the game physical
- 39:38Speaker 3: Ravens football, right, I would expect to see that from
- 39:42Speaker 3: San Francisco because they're one in two. You can't you
- 39:45Speaker 3: just can't lose all these games early in the season.
- 39:47Speaker 4: Especially and not to us.
- 39:49Speaker 3: No, no, no disrespect to anybody.
- 39:52Speaker 2: But it was like in their division right now and
- 39:55Speaker 2: oho right, yes, the Rams are you know, playing.
- 39:58Speaker 9: A little better.
- 39:59Speaker 4: I mean yeah, for whatever it's worth.
- 40:01Speaker 2: So they're going to be in a dogfight. Everyone is critical.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Robin the UK writes in on Wednesday show, Paul said
- 40:10Speaker 2: something that I've been thinking about, and that is the
- 40:13Speaker 2: roster that we have is not a good one and
- 40:16Speaker 2: that it falls unbuilt. I don't see many players on
- 40:19Speaker 2: ours that other teams would really look at and say
- 40:22Speaker 2: this player will make our starting line up better. There
- 40:24Speaker 2: may be a few that will strengthen teams, but we
- 40:26Speaker 2: wouldn't get much in trade capital for them in my
- 40:29Speaker 2: opinion anyway. Okay, on more of a statement than a
- 40:32Speaker 2: question on Drake May. If they are setting up an
- 40:35Speaker 2: alternative playbook for him, how does that affect the other
- 40:38Speaker 2: players on offense? Won't everyone then have to learn a
- 40:41Speaker 2: new playbook? Well that was you know we were talking
- 40:43Speaker 2: about that. You know, how different would the offense look
- 40:47Speaker 2: once May gets in there? And if they are doing that,
- 40:49Speaker 2: like I said, it's going to be tough on all
- 40:51Speaker 2: the players, like they're out there, you know.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think it's more they would call some
- 40:56Speaker 3: different plays. Maybe that May is you know, more suited
- 41:01Speaker 3: for But back to Alex van Pelt today, I thought
- 41:06Speaker 3: Karen Grigian asked a really good question about sort of
- 41:10Speaker 3: do you tailor your system to your quarterback or does
- 41:14Speaker 3: your quarterback have to you have to get up to
- 41:17Speaker 3: speed on your system and Alex very unequivocally yes, word,
- 41:24Speaker 3: good word, And I'm gonna use my Jacoby present unequivocally
- 41:27Speaker 3: did I say that?
- 41:28Speaker 11: Right?
- 41:28Speaker 3: Is that the right word?
- 41:29Speaker 4: What is it? Quivocally?
- 41:30Speaker 3: Is that the right word? Which he makes me laugh
- 41:32Speaker 3: every single time he does that.
- 41:34Speaker 4: He knows, like you know this, come on.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Of course it's always right. So obviously he knows the word.
- 41:41Speaker 3: He just has fun with it. So so Van Pelt said,
- 41:47Speaker 3: you know, very strongly know you if you have a
- 41:51Speaker 3: run and shoot quarterback, you run the run and shoot
- 41:53Speaker 3: like you can't just you know, put a square peg
- 41:56Speaker 3: in a round hole. But what I wanted there was
- 41:58Speaker 3: a follow up. You know, so do you feel like
- 42:01Speaker 3: you have two guys in Brissette in May that are
- 42:05Speaker 3: well suited for your system or do you think there's
- 42:08Speaker 3: differences between what those two guys do.
- 42:11Speaker 2: But nobody.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Yeah, No, Paul got very mad right out.
- 42:17Speaker 5: You know someone I think Chris Price jumped in with
- 42:19Speaker 5: another question, Paul is, well, last thing, you know.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Like I understand, like seventy fifth? How many fumbles? Does
- 42:25Speaker 3: Mermander Stevenson have a question of the week?
- 42:28Speaker 2: No, I understand. Like you go into a press conference
- 42:30Speaker 2: prepared with a question that you want to ask something,
- 42:33Speaker 2: hopefully based on something you want to write, but you
- 42:36Speaker 2: need to call an audible sometimes, like if there's you
- 42:39Speaker 2: need to listen to what he's saying and follow up.
- 42:42Speaker 2: They don't do that.
- 42:43Speaker 3: And that is what makes the job hard. Yeah, because
- 42:47Speaker 3: you can't script everything. You have to react.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Do they teach you that in Jay school?
- 42:52Speaker 3: I mean, but that's not what the answers are.
- 42:54Speaker 5: But how to I mean, how to how to craft questions,
- 42:56Speaker 5: you know, and how to Yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 3: And I'm not good at it all. And you you
- 43:00Speaker 3: got to bear a witness to me being a moron today.
- 43:04Speaker 7: I didn't know you're going to bring up.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Very very rare for you know, one on one.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you know how I like to sort of pull
- 43:13Speaker 3: front of my colleagues from time to time. Well, I'm
- 43:16Speaker 3: calling myself out today for being an idiot. I was
- 43:18Speaker 3: talking to Drew Wilkins, who's the outside linebackers coach, and
- 43:21Speaker 3: I was sort of asking more inside linebacker, really good questions,
- 43:25Speaker 3: you know, just.
- 43:26Speaker 4: In your defense. They gabble kind of and it seems
- 43:29Speaker 4: like they're all kind of well.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I kind of looked at Tavai as a guy that
- 43:33Speaker 3: probably you know, you know, has some responsibilities in both
- 43:39Speaker 3: Dante high Tower inside and Drew Wilkins outside, but really
- 43:43Speaker 3: not and I kind of you know, and I he
- 43:47Speaker 3: couldn't have been better. Drew Wilkins couldn't have speak he was.
- 43:49Speaker 3: He was like really nice and I joked around. I
- 43:51Speaker 3: think Mike caught the end of it. I sort of.
- 43:53Speaker 12: Prefaced my question saying I can't believe if I work
- 43:58Speaker 12: with this guy.
- 43:59Speaker 3: But I prefaced it by saying, like, you know, I
- 44:01Speaker 3: don't pretend to know all the exits and nos. I
- 44:03Speaker 3: don't carry myself like like one of those guys. And
- 44:06Speaker 3: then when he started answering the question, and I immediately
- 44:09Speaker 3: read like he goes like, that's kind of more of
- 44:11Speaker 3: a question for Dante, and I look, I said, hey,
- 44:14Speaker 3: I told you I wasn't an.
- 44:15Speaker 4: Alternate inside outside linebacker.
- 44:17Speaker 2: What's the difference.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I don't get it. I'm just a cave man.
- 44:19Speaker 3: So yeah, I was. That's I like to I like
- 44:23Speaker 3: to think I'm better than that, but I'm a more
- 44:25Speaker 3: on today.
- 44:25Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I was in on high tower and
- 44:29Speaker 5: somebody asked him about to buy and I had probably.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Would have been good to you.
- 44:34Speaker 5: Because he talked about him, you know, being that adjuster
- 44:37Speaker 5: role as they call it, going from off the ball
- 44:39Speaker 5: to the edge. And I followed up and just said,
- 44:42Speaker 5: you're somebody who did both of those, what was the
- 44:45Speaker 5: hardest part.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Of going back and forth?
- 44:46Speaker 5: And he had, you know, good question, good response, talking
- 44:49Speaker 5: about the difficulty of having to get guys lined up,
- 44:51Speaker 5: and you know, there's a lot more on the plate
- 44:53Speaker 5: when you when you move inside and have to run
- 44:55Speaker 5: the defense like that.
- 44:56Speaker 3: My only saving graces I was by myself. Okay, so
- 44:59Speaker 3: I didn't I risk myself in front of the tree
- 45:02Speaker 3: was there. But you know, in true Paul fashion, I'm
- 45:05Speaker 3: accountable when I do moronic things, I tell you that
- 45:08Speaker 3: I'm wrong there. I came in, I called myself out
- 45:12Speaker 3: to Alex and Evan, hundreds of thousands of people that
- 45:17Speaker 3: are listening, and I'm admitting and it is not the
- 45:21Speaker 3: best question.
- 45:22Speaker 9: Yea.
- 45:22Speaker 5: I was surprised when I walk in there. I saw
- 45:23Speaker 5: you and juw like it seemed like you were you
- 45:25Speaker 5: had a private party going on there.
- 45:26Speaker 4: I was gonna just like, hey, what's up. I had
- 45:30Speaker 4: to duck out.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Well.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I talked to Jerry Montgomery a little bit about some
- 45:34Speaker 3: of the stuff that you and I have been talking
- 45:36Speaker 3: about with just like depth, and I think opponents adjusting
- 45:40Speaker 3: to that and sort of going hurry up to keep
- 45:43Speaker 3: personnel on the field and stuff like that. Uh, those
- 45:47Speaker 3: were good questions and answered well by Jerry Montgomery.
- 45:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 5: I thought it took kinda a good question, which I
- 45:53Speaker 5: didn't realize saying that a quality and Godshaw played like
- 45:56Speaker 5: career high snaps in that game is another.
- 45:58Speaker 3: So I actually my first question when I said, I said,
- 46:01Speaker 3: I wanted to sort of get back to what Doug
- 46:03Speaker 3: was talking about, and that's what was my jumping off
- 46:05Speaker 3: point because I agreed with that, and they can't want
- 46:09Speaker 3: Gotcha to be a three down player, and that's what
- 46:12Speaker 3: he's been a lot of the time, especially the last
- 46:14Speaker 3: two games with Seattle and New York going with no huddle.
- 46:18Speaker 3: A lot.
- 46:20Speaker 2: A lot of emailers preaching patients, which I think is
- 46:27Speaker 2: great because Mat, Yeah, it's about Matt.
- 46:32Speaker 3: I thought we were talking about I thought we were
- 46:34Speaker 3: talking about the team, and I were Actually I would
- 46:37Speaker 3: already agree. I would woheartily agree.
- 46:39Speaker 4: About to adjust the show playbook for the for the players.
- 46:43Speaker 3: I think we already have money.
- 46:45Speaker 2: I think we already But anyway, Ford and Savannah says,
- 46:48Speaker 2: I'm encouraged by the direction the team is taking. Throw
- 46:51Speaker 2: out the win lost column. This season. The Patriots have
- 46:54Speaker 2: a head coach and a quarterback. The right moves were
- 46:56Speaker 2: made with an inherited roster, as has been stated on
- 47:00Speaker 2: your show. If this offense can be adjusted to fit
- 47:02Speaker 2: May a little more, I think it will work. Scheme wise,
- 47:05Speaker 2: the team just needs time to build through the draft
- 47:07Speaker 2: and develop players. The other way got them to the
- 47:10Speaker 2: first round in the playoffs ten and seven, then a
- 47:13Speaker 2: quick decline. This is the right way to build for
- 47:15Speaker 2: the future, as much as it might not look great currently.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Well, I hope you're right. I'm gonna play the other
- 47:23Speaker 3: side of that, just real quickly. So I would agree
- 47:26Speaker 3: with preaching patients because I don't think this is like
- 47:29Speaker 3: a five year rebuild. I think they're starting to rebuild.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Now I think that they're sort of taking a new path.
- 47:35Speaker 9: You have a new.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Quarterback in terms of the over like that to me
- 47:40Speaker 3: is an overly optimistic look at things like, Yes, they
- 47:44Speaker 3: went out and signed a bunch of guys in twenty
- 47:45Speaker 3: twenty one. I didn't agree with it at the time,
- 47:47Speaker 3: and I said so at the time, and I understand
- 47:50Speaker 3: that you get that bump. But they also had a
- 47:52Speaker 3: quarterback that you all thought was the guy. They drafted
- 47:57Speaker 3: the quarterback, and he was a rookie quarterback they plugged in. Yeah,
- 48:01Speaker 3: and then if this was week four, week five of
- 48:06Speaker 3: twenty twenty one, everybody was said, well, they have the quarterback, right, Yep,
- 48:10Speaker 3: they didn't have the quarterback. So I don't know how
- 48:12Speaker 3: you know you have the quarterback now when he hasn't played.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Yeah, that's fair, right.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Like again, I'm all for preaching patients. I think that's
- 48:20Speaker 3: the right the right move. But I don't know that
- 48:22Speaker 3: they have a coach in a quarterback, right, I have
- 48:24Speaker 3: no idea.
- 48:25Speaker 4: That's the fun part of not playing him is you
- 48:26Speaker 4: don't know. You don't know. Maybe he's in the best
- 48:28Speaker 4: quarterback that might play the game.
- 48:30Speaker 3: I think that might be part of it.
- 48:32Speaker 4: Right.
- 48:33Speaker 5: But now and you know, now you get Jayden Daniels
- 48:35Speaker 5: who has his game, and you know, now he's going
- 48:38Speaker 5: to be the next Patrick Mahomes until he's not, until
- 48:40Speaker 5: you know, he has a bad game, and you know
- 48:42Speaker 5: they'd be ups and downs.
- 48:43Speaker 4: But I hear what you're saying.
- 48:44Speaker 5: I just going back to the Bill and the talented
- 48:47Speaker 5: He's just like they're not a star players on this thing.
- 48:49Speaker 5: Like they just didn't find stars. And like I was
- 48:51Speaker 5: okay with the off season and you know, signing some
- 48:54Speaker 5: of the middle class and maintaining you know, some of
- 48:56Speaker 5: that continuity. But to me, it was just the lack
- 48:58Speaker 5: of guys that you know, you never had another Edelman
- 49:01Speaker 5: hit from the seventh round. You know, that's that's an
- 49:03Speaker 5: extreme example. But even you know, Gronk, a guy that
- 49:05Speaker 5: you took a chance on, was you know, had some
- 49:07Speaker 5: injury concerns, was kind of a meat ball when he
- 49:09Speaker 5: came in here, but ended up being the greatest.
- 49:10Speaker 4: Tight end of all time. Those moves dried up, they
- 49:12Speaker 4: stopped happening, and it was.
- 49:14Speaker 3: An underrated part of the Bill losing the touch. Like
- 49:18Speaker 3: every guy that he sort of rolled the dice on,
- 49:22Speaker 3: you know, there was a good amount of them. They
- 49:24Speaker 3: all they almost all hit. Then all of a sudden,
- 49:26Speaker 3: they just, you know, all of a sudden, We're going
- 49:28Speaker 3: to take Dominic Easley in the first round. Even though
- 49:31Speaker 3: he tore his a cl twice. He'll be healthy for us,
- 49:34Speaker 3: right except where he wasn't you know?
- 49:36Speaker 5: It was kind of the start of it in that
- 49:38Speaker 5: fourteen range. And I mean they had, you know, look
- 49:40Speaker 5: Joe Toney, which still makes me sick. That was the
- 49:42Speaker 5: beginning of the get away.
- 49:46Speaker 4: But after him, you know, who are who are really
- 49:48Speaker 4: the start? There are a lot of you know, good
- 49:50Speaker 4: some good players for sure.
- 49:51Speaker 5: But not the Gronk, the Edelman's, the you know, the
- 49:54Speaker 5: high Towers, the Chandler Jones, Chandler.
- 49:57Speaker 4: See you got that good? Yeah, I'm working on it.
- 49:59Speaker 4: I'm working with the coach on that.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yep, Jake writes ins Chucklets writing into Express, how happy
- 50:07Speaker 2: I am to hear Van Pelt say he would be
- 50:09Speaker 2: tailoring the offense to the quarterback.
- 50:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Well, I can't wait to see what the kid has.
- 50:16Speaker 2: As long as he just shows enough flash to maybe
- 50:18Speaker 2: attract some free agents. Slash give confidence to the front
- 50:22Speaker 2: office to go after a guy like Metcalf with our
- 50:25Speaker 2: second pick, I'll be very happy with the season.
- 50:28Speaker 5: I think that's the push and pull right now, is
- 50:30Speaker 5: there's a belief out there, you know, for whatever reason,
- 50:34Speaker 5: that Alex van Pelt is stuck in an old system.
- 50:37Speaker 5: He's rigid in his ways and he will not adapt
- 50:39Speaker 5: and that is why he hasn't got an offensive coordinator
- 50:42Speaker 5: job until now. And you know, when you hear from
- 50:44Speaker 5: Alex van Pelt, what he says is that, you know,
- 50:46Speaker 5: he seems like he's willing to be flexible. But that's
- 50:49Speaker 5: kind of the push and pull right now that people
- 50:51Speaker 5: don't trust Alex van Pelt to do different than what
- 50:54Speaker 5: he has been doing.
- 50:55Speaker 4: So he's going to have to prove it with with
- 50:56Speaker 4: Drake Man.
- 50:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't. I mean, you'd have to be beyond
- 51:01Speaker 2: stubborn to not have a guy that you pick third
- 51:05Speaker 2: overall and say, Okay, here's what he's good at, this
- 51:08Speaker 2: is what we're gonna do. You know what. I can't
- 51:11Speaker 2: imagine that that would be his mindset to be anything
- 51:14Speaker 2: but that. But anyway, we'll see maybe as soon as
- 51:19Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. Todd's in North Carolina. What's up, Todd? Hey, Todd?
- 51:26Speaker 2: Todd is not there from North Carolina.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Do you guys know where this footage is from?
- 51:32Speaker 3: It looks like one of the nobody knows what you're
- 51:34Speaker 3: talking about. Min's like one of our Miami trips.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Miami, nobody knows what you're talking about.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Scott so swimming pool.
- 51:41Speaker 2: We've got a monitor in the in the watching studio
- 51:45Speaker 2: show Bertrand and it's got a picture of Zola.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've been in that pool.
- 51:54Speaker 2: Yeah, where that's what the play.
- 51:56Speaker 3: I think that's the one of the places that we've
- 51:58Speaker 3: stayed down there. I don't know if it's Lauderdale or
- 52:00Speaker 3: outside for Miami.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Yancy Jacket and Arvices. I drive a twenty five year
- 52:07Speaker 2: old car. It has one hundred and sixty seven thousand
- 52:10Speaker 2: miles on no rust. I replaced the engine once. I
- 52:13Speaker 2: have no plans to buy a new car anytime soon.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Any economists will tell you that the cheapest car to
- 52:18Speaker 2: own is the one you already own.
- 52:20Speaker 4: Amen, I've a lot three car.
- 52:21Speaker 3: That's why I have two hundred and fifty thousand miles
- 52:24Speaker 3: on my car. It's cheap.
- 52:26Speaker 4: I got one twenty ish. Yeah, I've only had three
- 52:29Speaker 4: cars my whole life.
- 52:31Speaker 7: Me too, that's it.
- 52:32Speaker 2: That's it. Three cars in your life.
- 52:34Speaker 3: Yep, yeah, this is my fourth. I'm a little older
- 52:37Speaker 3: than you, so I.
- 52:39Speaker 7: Would probably still be on my first car, honestly, if
- 52:41Speaker 7: my mom didn't total it on me my first year
- 52:43Speaker 7: at college.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Wow, you're total She told it on me.
- 52:46Speaker 7: And then I had to buy myself a new one.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Wow.
- 52:50Speaker 4: And then she kicked you off your phone.
- 52:51Speaker 7: They kicked me off the phone plan too.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Oh my god, the phone plan.
- 52:55Speaker 7: That just happened.
- 52:56Speaker 9: It's a new development in.
- 52:58Speaker 4: The locker room. And Alex was like, it's just I
- 52:59Speaker 4: don't know what.
- 53:00Speaker 7: The days come independent.
- 53:03Speaker 3: So that's the thing. I can kick my kids off
- 53:04Speaker 3: the phone point.
- 53:05Speaker 7: I guess well too, for it took my stepdad twenty
- 53:08Speaker 7: nine years for me, So.
- 53:11Speaker 4: I have my dad on my my plan now.
- 53:12Speaker 5: So maybe maybe we'll come put you on his poem.
- 53:16Speaker 10: Remember Rocky Rakovic, Yes, you just emailed in everyone's emailing
- 53:20Speaker 10: in all the greats.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Rocky went from intern here to Playboy.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Editor Playboy Yeah wow, yeah, another one who left me
- 53:28Speaker 3: behind that, he says.
- 53:30Speaker 2: This summer, it seemed as if some free agents and
- 53:33Speaker 2: trade targets were reticent to come to Foxboro because of
- 53:36Speaker 2: the uncertainty surrounded do you think the first few weeks
- 53:40Speaker 2: have improved our chances of attracting talent? Also, for let's
- 53:44Speaker 2: go back to Edward's steakhouse. It wasn't Edwards. It was Arthur's.
- 53:48Speaker 2: And I think they're closed. I don't think they.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Opened up because you go to Arthur's Rocky Yeah, oh yeah,
- 53:53Speaker 3: how'd that happen?
- 53:55Speaker 2: I met him there. Oh, I was in town and
- 53:58Speaker 2: we met up.
- 53:59Speaker 3: I've actually been to Arthur's.
- 54:02Speaker 2: It was great, great.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Where was it was?
- 54:06Speaker 2: Arthur's was when if When I first started going, they
- 54:09Speaker 2: had two things on the menu with twenty four ounce
- 54:11Speaker 2: rabbi and a forty eight ounce rabbi.
- 54:13Speaker 5: That's it steak or more a flag and like a
- 54:17Speaker 5: wedge the wet salad.
- 54:19Speaker 2: They had beer, like two pints of beer. It was
- 54:23Speaker 2: like a great American carriage. Closed. Yeah, closed. Yeah.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Their menu was just to.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Arteries.
- 54:32Speaker 4: It's like it sounds like the cheeseburger place, like steak, steak, steak,
- 54:35Speaker 4: steak Betsy.
- 54:37Speaker 2: We went with Scalavino once and he ordered his steak.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Well died, I said to the before. I said to
- 54:43Speaker 2: the waiter, we're gonna need a moment and then I turned,
- 54:45Speaker 2: I said, you are not ordering a well done steak.
- 54:48Speaker 2: If you want, you get a hamburger if you well,
- 54:50Speaker 2: you know.
- 54:51Speaker 5: So Dad telling me, wait, that was before he went
- 54:54Speaker 5: to Vega, before he went vegan or vegetable.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Was before he went vegan.
- 54:58Speaker 3: That must have been after and I up traveling because
- 55:00Speaker 3: I don't know why you would have been with Eric
- 55:02Speaker 3: and not us.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Eric was there. One of the first times we went
- 55:06Speaker 2: was with Mike Reese and he ate so much he
- 55:09Speaker 2: threw up in the bathroom. It was like a Roman orgy, you.
- 55:13Speaker 4: Know, because he went with a forty eight out steak.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Oh, we were sure he didn't go with the forty
- 55:21Speaker 3: eight ouncer we went with.
- 55:24Speaker 2: We went with a from the old BCN you know
- 55:27Speaker 2: before it was nine eight point five PC and had
- 55:30Speaker 2: the it was the rock radio, Patriots Rock Radio. And
- 55:33Speaker 2: this guy one of the engineers, uh, Mike, I.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Think his name was Mike Perry.
- 55:38Speaker 2: No, No, not not Mike Perry before him.
- 55:40Speaker 3: Oh, I think I know you was the big guy. Oh.
- 55:44Speaker 10: Anyway, he had the wedge salad, French onion soup, the
- 55:50Speaker 10: forty eight ounce steak of which he ate all of it, cheesecake,
- 55:54Speaker 10: and two huge beers.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I couldn't. I couldn't have done the cheesecake.
- 55:58Speaker 2: He ate the whole I couldn't believe it.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I would not have been able to get the cheesecake down,
- 56:03Speaker 3: but the rest of that I could.
- 56:04Speaker 4: Have taken on cheesecakes filling by itself.
- 56:06Speaker 5: I mean the French office is by that point like
- 56:09Speaker 5: who was forcing them at the end.
- 56:10Speaker 2: It's not like a little cup. It's like a big
- 56:13Speaker 2: bowl of French on your suit with the bread.
- 56:14Speaker 7: Over it, then the cheese on top of me out.
- 56:18Speaker 3: So just to you know, go back to Rockies email there,
- 56:22Speaker 3: I would say that not yet. I don't think that
- 56:24Speaker 3: they've made themselves more attractive at this point. The offense
- 56:28Speaker 3: has been pretty dormant. I don't think that wide receivers
- 56:31Speaker 3: are looking at what's going on in New England and
- 56:33Speaker 3: saying I want to be part of that. But there's
- 56:36Speaker 3: a whole lot of season left. You get Drake May
- 56:38Speaker 3: out there. He shows some promise that can change in
- 56:40Speaker 3: a hurry. Yep, back to Todd. He's calling back in.
- 56:44Speaker 2: Oh He's calling back in Okay. Todd's giving it another
- 56:47Speaker 2: tribe in North Carolina.
- 56:50Speaker 9: You got me yea.
- 56:53Speaker 13: So at this end of the year. I called it
- 56:56Speaker 13: in and said I could see them being.
- 56:57Speaker 14: There, you know, almost around five and eight. So just thinking,
- 57:01Speaker 14: I find out what you guys thought about your prediction
- 57:03Speaker 14: for what the team's record would be now that you've
- 57:06Speaker 14: seen three games, you know kind of the good, the bad,
- 57:07Speaker 14: and the ugly.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Okay, So has you know before the season, I thought
- 57:13Speaker 2: they'd win six games. That was the ceiling, you know, I.
- 57:18Speaker 3: Would have agreed with that.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Has anybody changed four to six? I don't know if
- 57:24Speaker 4: that changed.
- 57:24Speaker 3: I don't know. I haven't really changed. I will I
- 57:26Speaker 3: will say, you know, the Miami situation has changed. I
- 57:30Speaker 3: think that the game next week, Week five has a
- 57:34Speaker 3: drastically different look without Tua. Yeah, that's a winnable game that,
- 57:38Speaker 3: in my opinion, probably wasn't sure. But you know, it
- 57:43Speaker 3: doesn't mean you're gonna win it, right, You gotta you
- 57:45Speaker 3: gotta go out and play. But I I had them
- 57:50Speaker 3: with one win going to London. Now I think it's
- 57:53Speaker 3: probably going to be two because I think they're gonna
- 57:56Speaker 3: be Miami. I think they will be hard pressed to
- 57:58Speaker 3: win this week. Sorry, if given that away, it's a
- 58:00Speaker 3: little early, give another half out, half an hour and
- 58:05Speaker 3: then I think they'll have a hard time with Houston
- 58:08Speaker 3: before London. But the London game itself is another game
- 58:11Speaker 3: that looks a lot more manageable now than it did
- 58:14Speaker 3: probably before the season.
- 58:16Speaker 5: Chargers Bills still look they'll still look really tough at
- 58:18Speaker 5: the end.
- 58:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm I'm somewhere in there.
- 58:21Speaker 3: Arizona looks more difficult in my opinion anyway than it
- 58:24Speaker 3: did at the beginning of the year.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:26Speaker 2: I think the next two weeks are critical, I really do.
- 58:29Speaker 2: I think you have to play well this week, even
- 58:31Speaker 2: if you don't win, you have to play well and
- 58:34Speaker 2: then maybe pull off if you don't look good these
- 58:36Speaker 2: next two weeks. Forget about six wins is the ceiling,
- 58:40Speaker 2: you know.
- 58:41Speaker 3: I still think six possible.
- 58:42Speaker 2: I do too, Like I do too, But I think
- 58:44Speaker 2: these next two weeks will be telling.
- 58:46Speaker 3: But I think like Tennessee, you should win. Indianapolis you'll
- 58:49Speaker 3: have a chance to win, you should win that.
- 58:52Speaker 2: I think.
- 58:53Speaker 3: I think the Miami game, for you know, with Tim
- 58:56Speaker 3: Boyle playing quarterback in the game so much, he's the
- 59:00Speaker 3: saggerating he's the worst quarterback that's ever played in the NFL. Like,
- 59:05Speaker 3: I mean, that's four wins right there, and you haven't
- 59:08Speaker 3: had to upset anybody to do that. Like you're gonna
- 59:11Speaker 3: upset someone like you did Cincinnati. That's gonna happen too.
- 59:14Speaker 4: Yeah, so I think you might live.
- 59:16Speaker 3: Six is a ceiling.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I still Carmine and Connecticut writes in first time
- 59:21Speaker 2: emailer thank you, He says, I don't know if I can.
- 59:25Speaker 2: I can live with the changes with the email and
- 59:27Speaker 2: the phone, but as we learn, change can be good
- 59:29Speaker 2: when it's time, such as Bill in the New Studio.
- 59:33Speaker 2: I think the overreaction to Drake may needing to play
- 59:37Speaker 2: is unnecessary and overblown. I think I can speak for
- 59:40Speaker 2: everyone when I say I can't wait, would love to
- 59:43Speaker 2: see him play, and I'm excited for his first start.
- 59:45Speaker 2: I like Week five against the Dolphins or in London
- 59:49Speaker 2: with a more neutral, slash kind of home environment. My
- 59:52Speaker 2: paison Paul's comment on Drake playing in the Jets game
- 59:56Speaker 2: games being the most exciting part of the season so far.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I see prom us in his development in the throat
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: to Douglas with his pocket movement. I was there and
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I will never return to that swamp again. I'm concerned
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: that when he does play, our scheme doesn't fit his
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: play style. I can remember Fred being adamant on utilizing
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: our players superpowers, and I don't know if I see
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: that across the board with on when U a tackle,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: poke on an end around, John Jones on the outside,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Dougar Pepper's deep safety, and May playing under center. I
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: agree with Michelle's Oh, Michelle's h the one I Charlotta.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: I agree with Charlotta's O line, but want Robinson at
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: left guard. It makes the most sense when planning for
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: next season and plugging in the left tackle. That must
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: be first priority next season. So good email.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: I like how he ran down a lot of stuff,
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: a lot of guys, you know, maybe not playing to
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: their strengths as much as you might like.
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: I like that.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Listen. You know City Soal was also a recent draft
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: pick too, and he's I put him on the one
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: of the young people. He's definitely right if he can
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: work out a guard. I'm fine with that, you know, yeah,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: you know, sure.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: No, I think that's to me, like when we talk
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: about what the win totals like, is I just get
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: the offensive line right, like, just get some stability. I mean,
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: they the coaches continue to tell us that they.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: Think it'll get better.
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: So I'm gonna I'm gonna hopefully trust that, and you know,
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: if it does get better, I think then then we
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: are starting to talk about you know, four or five,
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: six wins. But it's just hard to see it right
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: now when they can't even roll the same line out
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: two weeks in a row.
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: That's the thing. Injuries are just so brutal on top
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: of inexperience. So they'll gain experience, but you just you
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: got to get everyone healthy. It's so paramount.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of people were talking about this and
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: we should spend a little time on it. Trevor Wrights in,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: can we discuss how Robert Kraft said on Live TV
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: he picked Yourrodmeyo to be the next head coach five
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: years ago. Five years ago was before he was even
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: an assistant coach, and he picked him because they had
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: a good vacation together. I don't love that. Yeah, I
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: mean a lot of people picked up on that comment.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: It wasn't much different than the comment he made at
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: the day that Gerard became that he had tabbed him
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: five years ago to be the heir apparent in his mind,
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: like he saw a lot of leadership in him. That
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: doesn't mean like five years ago that it was a
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: done deal. But I think that's who he identified at
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: the time, and things could have changed five years after.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Apparently they didn't because he ended up naming him head coach.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: But I, like, I don't have any problem on the
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: face of it, like saying, this is a guy that
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: can be our next head coach, and then over the
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: next five years he makes that instinct, you know, you
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: know he gets reinforcement of that instinct.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: I mean, it's how much did Robert know about Gerard
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: to that point, probably knew him as a player, hadn't
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: seen him in a few years, and you know, maybe
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: seeing him outside of the context of football kind of
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: shine a new light on him.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: But I kind of took it the way you did.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: It wasn't like that's it, he's my guy, Like it's like, yeah,
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: I think there's maybe something about this guy. I'm going
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: to keep that.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: It got picked apart on Twitter as if it had
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: been a five year plot to get Girad And it's like,
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: if you're running a multi billion dollar corporation, I'm hiring
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: twenty four to seven, Like I'm constantly looking out for
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: good people I can bring in and help me run
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: that organization. It's just that's how billionaires think.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: You have to have a succession plan.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and I do think that he identified
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: him as the successor. He did, but I don't have
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: enough information. I need to know why.
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: And he still was in his seventies.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no not why not? Why do
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: you needed a succession plan. I totally age everything you
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: just said. I like it. I'm picking some stuff up.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: I need to know why he picked Grod five years ago.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: What in this trip to Israel to Gerard do that
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: led him to believe this is my successor. He hasn't
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: really gotten.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: Into go together.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Yeah that's true.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: But identifying a guy and you know, saying okay, I
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: can see him being my next head coach.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: That makes sense. Yeah, you know. He talked a lot
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: about he sort of did that with Bill Belichick back
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: in ninety six. He didn't follow his instinct and always
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: regretted it.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Yep. He thought it was too close to Parcels. And
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: I remember that on the day that Carol, not Carol,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: but on the day that Parcells left, Kraft drove out
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: in a car with Belichick to have a conversation and
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I'm sure. In the car, he said, you know, I
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: really like you, but I just can't pull the trigger
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: now because I got to get away from the shadow
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: of Bill Parcells.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: You know, got he got the tingle this time, and
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: he didn't he didn't hesitate.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: Well then, you know, like you talk about Dot hesitating.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: When the time came and Carol left, he fought the
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Jets and the league to allow to free him up,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: and he spent the first round draft picks. So he
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: was committed that.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: And it reminds me a little bit of the stupid
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: Packer way. But it's kind of exactly what Ron Wolf
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: did with Brett Farv. Like, he had a plan, he
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: knew what he wanted, he knew what he wanted his
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: team to look like, he knew who he wanted to
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: be his quarterback. A little different than head coach, but
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: same kind of deal. And you know, it was aggressive
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: and went out and tried to make that plan happen.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: So I mean, I just like that.
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: I've talked to Paul a little bit about my experience
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: in Hollywood was always like the best TV shows were
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: run by one guy who had a crazy vision, and
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: he might be nuts and he might be mean to
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: people sometimes, but if you follow that one person's vision,
- 1:05:32Speaker 5: you let that guy.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Run with it, you're going to catch something special.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: Whereas some shows you'd have a lot of executives involved,
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: you had, you know, this person who is just promoted,
- 1:05:41Speaker 5: they're twenty seven years old, they're now the manager of
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: development at CBS, and they're sitting in front of Chuck
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: Laurie and they have to give them notes. You know,
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: Chuck Lurie wasn't going to take those notes, but other
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: people would take those notes. And I just like, I mean, it's,
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: you know, kind of that cliche of like the strong leader.
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: But a lot of times in entertainment and in sports,
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: when you've got a crazy mad man who said I'm
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: going to do it my way and everyone else get
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: out of the way, sometimes those are that's when you
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: really catch magic. So I just I hope that this
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: Patriots team hat finds a little bit of that. And
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: isn't we hear so much about collaborative which is fine,
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: and I think it's nice in retrospect after what they
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: went through with Bill, that they wanted that to be
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: a theme. But at the same time, I think Andy Reid,
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: you know, some of these really special things that happen.
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: Sometimes it's just you've got to let a mad man
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: run with it, and it's not always going to be smooth.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Like I said, a lot of time, those guys were
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: mean and they were dicks to people at Hurwitz.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, but this isn't a This isn't a
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: sport for waffling. You need a strong leader. You need
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: someone who believes in himself, believes in his convictions, and
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: can get other people to follow. You've got a locker
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: room full of alphas.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: Yeah, you know.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: These are all guys who were studs in college and
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: they were alphas, and they know when a coach is
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: and being authentic and isn't sure of themselves, and they
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: don't want to follow that because it's their career. They
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: want to win. They want to be put in positions
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: to succeed, and that depends on their coaching. So believe me,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: you know when I say that, You know these guys
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: have to they have to be strong and tough these coaches,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: because these guys aren't going to listen to to week.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: You know, two weak people.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: And it helps for them to look to one person
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: who has the answers. I mean, I think that was
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: part of what Bill you know, did with a small staff.
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know if it totally worked. At
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: the end, he kind of lost too many people, and
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: I think, you know, there were just too few guys.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: But you know, when you have one guy to look
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: to and you know what the answer is going to be,
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: whereas you know, this coach might give me one answer,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: this coach might give me another answer.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: And that's the whole thing, you know, Like with the
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: last three years, it was just it was, you know,
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: we make fun of Mac, but like, yeah, I think
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: it was a valid question. Why why are you doing this?
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: Like what have you done to prove? What have you
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Matt Patricia and you know whoever else done to prove
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: that this is going to work? You know, Josh mc
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: daniels has was a proven offensive coordinator and you're changing everything,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Like why? Yeah, it was a fair question.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: And a guy like Kendrick Bourne, who's you know, been
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: in the system of that everyone holds up on the
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: pedestal in San Francisco and you know that's it's a
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: hard position. I mean, I imagine as a coach, it's
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: hard to like look at a player and be like,
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: I can't give this guy the same information he got
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: somewhere else. That other guy's just way more experience than
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: I am. And that's I think what all the coaches
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: fear is that the players aren't going to buy into
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: what you're selling or they don't think you know what
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: you're talking about.
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: It's got to be the worst place to be.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Is it. Well, And you know, you have to be
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: true to yourself, you have to be authentic. Matt Patricia
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: famously went to Detroit and started laying down the lumber
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: and making them, you know, and showing off his rings
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: and all that, and guys are like, you've never been
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: a headcut? What are you doing there? You know, it
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: just didn't work. They could tell that's not who he is.
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Yeah, he's he's he's you know, I mean, say what
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: you will about Gerad and you could probably say he's
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: gone too far the other way.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: But he certainly isn't trying to be bill like.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: You know that well, as long as he's being him,
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: you know, when times get like you could say times
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: are tough, but when when he's challenged, as long as
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: he doesn't change who he is, then he has a
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: chance to succeed. But if you start changing personalities depending
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: on you know, which way the wind's blowing. Players see
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: right through that. They see right through that.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: You don't really get a sense of it till the
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: hard times happen and the controversies, and you know, we've
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: seen it a little bit here there, one and two.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: But and that was that was Bill's. That was one
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: of his gifts. He never rode the waves.
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Some of the losses he seemed a little bit more pissed,
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: I'm gonna admit, But overall it was it was just
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: the same thing today.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: If you're a player, you could count on how he
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: was going to be. He was going to be fair,
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: and he was going to be consistent. You know, Matt
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: and Pittsfield, rights in Pittsfield, Maine.
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: Shout out. He's really you know, trips out to Pittsfield.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: I've been listening out. I've been listening since I needed
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: closure after the seven Super Bowl loss. Oh jeez, I
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: don't know if you've got it here because we're still
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: pained by it. So I don't know if you get
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: closure with us. We are all concerned that the free
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: agent strategy is going to be the same this year
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: as it was last year. I'm afraid of them not
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: signing any high price free agents because that's what it
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: seems like Green Bay Packers do, and with Elliott Wolf
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: being from that tree, I'm worried that we're just going
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: to try to build through the draft. Thanks have a
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: good day. So it's a fair question, But my answer
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: to that would be, remember the structure of the green
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: Bay Packers. They don't have like that one big owner
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: that They're like this public company that got grandfathered in,
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: So I don't know what their budget is and like
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: like if they have that free money to spend the
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: way you need to spend now with the cash over
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: cap and all that stuff, So maybe they were hamstrung
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: in terms of how much they spent.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: Are still doing this.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: I just I just know they went and tried to
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: get Calvin Ridley and Brandon Ayuk, and that to me
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: is a positive sign that they're going to add, you know,
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: not just a receiver.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't think have that pieces on it.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: I don't think money is going to be an issue.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: I think the issue is players wanting to come here.
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not necessarily saying the money is the issue,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: But I do wonder if that's not what Elliott Wolf
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: wants to do now. J just makes a good counter.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: They at least tried it, you know, with with with
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: one specific position in mind, so you know, hopefully they'll
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: they'll do that again. But I agree with the emailer
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: the Green Bay system was more draft and develop and yeah,
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: you know, you don't have it. They don't have a
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: lot of big price you know. I don't know how
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: they broke the bank with Reggie White back in the
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: day with that public trust, but somehow they did. But
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: they don't do it that way anymore. It's it's sort
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: of a different mentality. So I do worry about.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: That a little bit to the point I mean yesterday though,
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: I just the draft is how they're going to get it.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: I mean, you're not going to fix left tackle, get
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: a three down you know, edge, whatever else you're gonna
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: need along the line. We don't know who else is
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: who's actually gonna rise.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: But that's why patience is a good word. You can't
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: get everything.
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: You got to get this.
- 1:12:09Speaker 7: And like even if you do go sign all these
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: like win now type players, that's not where we're at.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: How you do it, Someone else not where we're at.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: You're absolutely right.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: And one big piece is you know I don't I mean,
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: they go and get a big receiver next.
- 1:12:21Speaker 7: Year is gray for locker room? Break through that room.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: You don't want twenty twenty one again.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: You want to really just have to hit with those
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: high picks, like if they have another top ten pick,
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: you have to hit you And if you have to be.
- 1:12:33Speaker 7: Good, then what do you attract once those players are
- 1:12:36Speaker 7: developed and start to get that momentum. I mean, not
- 1:12:38Speaker 7: to bring up basketball again, but how many trade proposals
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: did people want right to bring in these big free agents?
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: Kevin Durant, you name him, And really it took the
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: Jays to reach that precipice to then they can attract Porzingis,
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: Then you can attract Holiday they want to come play.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: I mean, and now in retrostrate to alex Is like
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: a Celtis fan, you look back at like some of
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: the growing.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Pains, yeah, that you have with those guys.
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: And I mean I remember people talking about, you know,
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: which one are we going to get rid of?
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: And you know, Marcus Smart ended up being out.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: But you know, it is an argument for patients and
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: it's you know these things.
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: Like Drake May getting into that game against New York.
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: Not a big not a big deal, but a little
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: piece of what you're hopefully starting to build.
- 1:13:19Speaker 7: Yeah, and you have a banged up online, but you
- 1:13:20Speaker 7: have these rookies in Caiden and Leyden that look like
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: they're going to be pretty promising. And maybe we'll look
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: back and say, hey, when they were really shaky their
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: rookie years, getting thrown into the fire, that maybe was
- 1:13:31Speaker 7: the best thing for them.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: It should be a Showden.
- 1:13:33Speaker 10: All right, Mike, and Lington now in New Jersey, right say,
- 1:13:36Speaker 10: bred Arthur's is now in Morris Plains, New Jersey, just
- 1:13:39Speaker 10: thirty minutes from Giants Stadium.

- 1:15:39Speaker 17: Yeah, refreshed, excited for this opportunity. Uh No, got a good,
- 1:15:43Speaker 17: good week of preparation coming up. Obviously starts with today.
- 1:15:46Speaker 17: Like I said, we had the bonus day, but definitely
- 1:15:48Speaker 17: excited about this week, this opportunity that we have in Yeah, drama.
- 1:15:57Speaker 9: With them, I don't know, it's just time.
- 1:15:58Speaker 13: And it's basic, look accurate for games.
- 1:16:00Speaker 9: To Marne and you learned looking at either yourself or
- 1:16:02Speaker 9: your offense.
- 1:16:03Speaker 13: Maybe you didn't last time we chat.
- 1:16:05Speaker 17: Yeah, I mean obviously I'm not gonna give you the
- 1:16:08Speaker 17: details of it, obviously because I'm sure somebody from San
- 1:16:11Speaker 17: France watching, but uh, you know, it's a good time
- 1:16:13Speaker 17: to like really reflect on the things that we do
- 1:16:15Speaker 17: well as an offense, uh, you know, and and I
- 1:16:19Speaker 17: guess honing in on the details to do those better.
- 1:16:22Speaker 17: Uh And a lot of the other things that we're
- 1:16:24Speaker 17: obviously trying to work on, you know, either don't do
- 1:16:28Speaker 17: them or you know, don't work on that in practice
- 1:16:31Speaker 17: obviously to get them better so that when it comes
- 1:16:32Speaker 17: to the game that we're honestly better at it. Uh,
- 1:16:35Speaker 17: but really honing in on the things that we're good at, Jacobe.
- 1:16:38Speaker 16: You were Toobe was saying after the Jets game, I
- 1:16:41Speaker 16: think through SACI five times, that hit ten times, he said,
- 1:16:44Speaker 16: I always get up. How do you guard against the
- 1:16:48Speaker 16: situation when right now do you have to take.
- 1:16:50Speaker 9: A fresh mental approach? Do you have to.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Remind yourself that going you know each game you aren't
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: getting hit a one, So how do you prepare for that?
- 1:16:59Speaker 9: Or is it the same just keep getting up when
- 1:17:04Speaker 9: it comes to some.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: Of the things that you guys feel like you're doing well,
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: How do you feel about your play.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Action game right now?
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: Yeah, it's getting better.
- 1:17:13Speaker 17: You know we in the last game we hit pop
- 1:17:14Speaker 17: on a big play on a play action It is
- 1:17:17Speaker 17: obviously certain.
- 1:17:18Speaker 9: You know we're gonna run the ball.
- 1:17:20Speaker 17: You know, we run the ball really well, so obviously
- 1:17:22Speaker 17: teams are gonna you know, react to our run run
- 1:17:25Speaker 17: actions and stuff like that. So you know, it's the
- 1:17:28Speaker 17: fourth game, so we're still getting better at it and
- 1:17:30Speaker 17: still holding on details as far as what concepts and
- 1:17:32Speaker 17: stuff that we like of our run actions and what
- 1:17:34Speaker 17: you know, runs that we're all are trying to you know,
- 1:17:37Speaker 17: give the defense elution that were running. So, you know,
- 1:17:40Speaker 17: I think over the last couple of days, we've had
- 1:17:41Speaker 17: a good we've done a good job of the quote
- 1:17:43Speaker 17: unquote self scout to be able to say, hey, these
- 1:17:45Speaker 17: are the runs that we're good at, and these are
- 1:17:46Speaker 17: the ones that we want to that teams know that
- 1:17:48Speaker 17: we're good at that we're gonna try and sell players
- 1:17:50Speaker 17: off of.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Can you tell play action and do you have the
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: ability to give that input to Alex Nfeld?
- 1:17:57Speaker 9: Uh that what do you mean? Can you when the defense.
- 1:18:01Speaker 11: Really trying to stop they Actually, I.
- 1:18:05Speaker 9: Think it's all part four of the game.
- 1:18:06Speaker 17: But yeah, outside of being able to get extra rest
- 1:18:10Speaker 17: on Thursday night game, what are some of the benefits
- 1:18:12Speaker 17: of being able to ask extra time as you get
- 1:18:14Speaker 17: ready for this game on Sunday. Yeah, extra rest, I
- 1:18:17Speaker 17: think that's the main thing. It's just extra rest and uh,
- 1:18:20Speaker 17: you know, new energy, I would say, uh and yeah,
- 1:18:24Speaker 17: I think those are two main things.
- 1:18:26Speaker 15: To watch film more though, allow you to watch things
- 1:18:28Speaker 15: maybe a little different leagues of added.
- 1:18:30Speaker 17: Film Uh not differently, But I guess you get I
- 1:18:33Speaker 17: guess more time to watch film. But yeah, afferentiated Pubble,
- 1:18:40Speaker 17: what's your on wavery Uh? I pronounced that right right
- 1:18:47Speaker 17: on wavering. Yeah, for sure. I mean he's one of
- 1:18:49Speaker 17: the best burning backs in the league. I mean I'm
- 1:18:52Speaker 17: not too worried about that.
- 1:18:53Speaker 16: You think you're closer or where do you think you
- 1:18:56Speaker 16: need to be as an offense? If you if you
- 1:18:58Speaker 16: found your identity yet orse still kind of a work.
- 1:19:01Speaker 17: In progress that you Yeah, yeah, it's exactly. It's a
- 1:19:04Speaker 17: work in progress as you go game to game. You know,
- 1:19:06Speaker 17: it's like the whole thing. It's like you're you're closer
- 1:19:08Speaker 17: than you think, but you also are farther than you
- 1:19:11Speaker 17: believe too, you know what I mean. So it's it's
- 1:19:12Speaker 17: about that balance of being in between those two, you know,
- 1:19:16Speaker 17: Like I said, the I guess the four days three
- 1:19:18Speaker 17: days or whatever we had off is it was time
- 1:19:20Speaker 17: to I guess kind of get closer, uh, in the
- 1:19:23Speaker 17: mindset of like, hey, what are we trying to become
- 1:19:26Speaker 17: and what what can we do well? And and at
- 1:19:30Speaker 17: least push that part that we do well up a
- 1:19:32Speaker 17: little bit more so that we get a little bit
- 1:19:33Speaker 17: closer so that other things start to fall in line
- 1:19:35Speaker 17: and become better.
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: Is that a sense of urgency that.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: You think needs to be added or is it just part.
- 1:19:39Speaker 9: Of the process.
- 1:19:40Speaker 17: Yeah, it's part of the process. I think it's part
- 1:19:41Speaker 17: of the process. Like I said, it's early in the season.
- 1:19:43Speaker 17: Is for it's week four the season, you know, and
- 1:19:47Speaker 17: then you go week to week. Uh so, Uh, it's early,
- 1:19:50Speaker 17: but we're definitely trending in the right direction.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: Forty nine ers defense.
- 1:19:53Speaker 18: Just what are your general impressions what sticks.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: Out the most about them?
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: I mean, it's talent all around.
- 1:20:00Speaker 17: Feel a group that has been in is together, not
- 1:20:03Speaker 17: along in the system, but together for a long time.
- 1:20:06Speaker 17: A lot of good players, a lot of good the
- 1:20:08Speaker 17: system is. They play it well, they run fast, they
- 1:20:10Speaker 17: get to the ball, they got you know, all Pro
- 1:20:13Speaker 17: Pro Bowl players at all three levels of the defense.
- 1:20:16Speaker 9: Uh, you know, and and they know it. They play
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: with uh you know.
- 1:20:20Speaker 17: I guess the confidence about themselves that you know that
- 1:20:23Speaker 17: it's not a player on the field that they can't make,
- 1:20:24Speaker 17: which to their to their credit, is somewhat true, you know,
- 1:20:29Speaker 17: but uh, you know, a lot of teams speed, a
- 1:20:31Speaker 17: lot of physical play. So it's gonna definitely be a
- 1:20:33Speaker 17: hard haad game for sure for us.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: David Andrews with just talk about Heather's the moving pieces
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: on the offensive line. What's your message that I grew up.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: With some of the issues.
- 1:20:43Speaker 9: Just keep outing, keep allen.
- 1:20:45Speaker 17: Uh, you know, Uh, it's hard to see the light
- 1:20:48Speaker 17: at the end of the tunnel and the but it
- 1:20:50Speaker 17: is coming, you know, and it's it's about you know,
- 1:20:52Speaker 17: going out there, keep battling, keep you know, putting your
- 1:20:55Speaker 17: best foot forward and and and trusting the process that
- 1:20:57Speaker 17: when when it when it clicks, it clicks, and you know,
- 1:21:00Speaker 17: and and like as like the question with the running
- 1:21:03Speaker 17: back is my confidence doesn't change for the line? You know,
- 1:21:05Speaker 17: it's the players are gonna come. I mean they're they're
- 1:21:08Speaker 17: they're gonna settle in and you know it's it's week
- 1:21:10Speaker 17: the week as wee can we put our best foot forward?
- 1:21:11Speaker 9: It will be all right, Love, Sam just helped you comes. Uh.
- 1:21:19Speaker 17: I think over these last three days, I kind of
- 1:21:21Speaker 17: actually I think it for the one or more times
- 1:21:25Speaker 17: in my career, I actually reflected on a lot of uh,
- 1:21:27Speaker 17: a lot of situations and times that I've been in
- 1:21:29Speaker 17: my career, uh, only playing not playing in different seasons
- 1:21:33Speaker 17: of of uh you know, how things gone. And I
- 1:21:38Speaker 17: think over this last couple of days, you know, I
- 1:21:40Speaker 17: really reflected and and you know, it puts a lot
- 1:21:43Speaker 17: of things in perspective from a holistic viewpoint, but also
- 1:21:47Speaker 17: like from a you know, like a day to day
- 1:21:51Speaker 17: you know. And uh, you know, it was funny that
- 1:21:53Speaker 17: I actually actually did reflect. You know, I can't, I'm
- 1:21:56Speaker 17: not bs and I actually did reflect.
- 1:21:57Speaker 9: Yeah, memories that came to mind when you did that.
- 1:22:01Speaker 17: You know, just you talk about getting hit, you know
- 1:22:04Speaker 17: what I mean, my first year and Indy like, I
- 1:22:07Speaker 17: hit a lot, but you know, you still keep getting up,
- 1:22:08Speaker 17: you know what I mean. And then just that aspect,
- 1:22:11Speaker 17: and then it's just you know, plays and like situationals
- 1:22:14Speaker 17: and situational parts in the game and plays that I
- 1:22:16Speaker 17: like and plays that I don't like, and you know,
- 1:22:18Speaker 17: you go to watch plays that played off for certain plays.
- 1:22:21Speaker 17: You know, the league is kind of like in a cycle,
- 1:22:23Speaker 17: you know what I mean. These plays were working twenty
- 1:22:25Speaker 17: five years ago, you know what I mean, we were
- 1:22:26Speaker 17: all running the same place. But uh, you know, and
- 1:22:30Speaker 17: just being able to look back on certain plays and
- 1:22:32Speaker 17: certain situations as far as like situational football and you know,
- 1:22:37Speaker 17: seasons of NFL life, you know what I mean, and
- 1:22:40Speaker 17: just stuff like that.
- 1:22:43Speaker 9: Someone at a time.
- 1:22:44Speaker 16: So you were fun with these guys at all about
- 1:22:46Speaker 16: your your experience.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: You know, when it comes to say, guys, keep doing
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: this doing that, it will come trust me, oh for sure,
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: or you get angry.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: At them and said, let's know, we gotta get together.
- 1:22:56Speaker 17: I mean, I'm always say I'm angry person anymore, not today,
- 1:23:00Speaker 17: but at least, but yeah, you share those experience because
- 1:23:03Speaker 17: it's a lot of players on our team that haven't
- 1:23:04Speaker 17: played that much football in the league. And you know,
- 1:23:06Speaker 17: we sat at the table and we hang out of
- 1:23:08Speaker 17: stuff a lot, like in the cafeteria and stuff, and
- 1:23:10Speaker 17: you know, either I'm telling the story or David telling
- 1:23:13Speaker 17: the story, Hunters telling the story, and you know, Kj's
- 1:23:15Speaker 17: telling stories. So we got a lot of guys that
- 1:23:17Speaker 17: do have a lot of experience in the league. So
- 1:23:19Speaker 17: just sharing those experiences. And you know, the the cool
- 1:23:22Speaker 17: part about it's like we've all kind of went through
- 1:23:25Speaker 17: similar situations. We all took different routes to get on
- 1:23:27Speaker 17: the other side of it, you know. So I think
- 1:23:29Speaker 17: that's the cool part about being in the locker room.
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: You have a fun thing about that pros set. I
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: think there was a gap and idiot where you were
- 1:23:35Speaker 9: sacked ten times.
- 1:23:37Speaker 3: You remember how you responded to that team?
- 1:23:40Speaker 9: Yeah, getting up when.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: You got a guy away.
- 1:23:43Speaker 9: The last question chakobe the riflecting you on a couch,
- 1:23:49Speaker 9: you's walking on the beach. No beaches up here that
- 1:23:54Speaker 9: I go to.
- 1:23:55Speaker 17: But you know, just I guess sitting on my couch, right,
- 1:23:58Speaker 17: I'm not gonna tell you if I sit in my
- 1:23:59Speaker 17: bed that would be a little different.
- 1:24:02Speaker 3: But yeah, and now great moments in.
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: History.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: The logic behind where they stock things. The mayonnaise should
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: be by the tuna. Okay, Jerry, all right, you could
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: have another section with mayonnaise, but also put it by
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: the tuna.
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: I agree. There should be hot dog buns.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: By the bonds. But you have to go all the way.
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: Yeah, but you have to go all the way to
- 1:24:29Speaker 7: the bread isle.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: Dogs and sausages.
- 1:24:32Speaker 10: That doesn't bother me at all, just because if you
- 1:24:38Speaker 10: go in and you do big shops, Okay, you're going
- 1:24:40Speaker 10: up and down every aisle.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: Just get a couple of things.
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: Then you don't go to a supermarket, go to a
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: to a convenience.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: A little hot dogs at seven eleven.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: Yes, it's the same package of hot dogs at seven eleven.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Check the expiration data charge.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: I would expired. I mean, if you don't change inspiration date,
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: that's on.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: You because they're sitting in there for a while.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: So then you don't buy it.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: You don't go grocery shopping at seven eleven. You go
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: in there to get us soon.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: Did he just change? Did he just do what?
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Did he just do? Pack a cigarette jack?
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: Did he just change the argument in typical Fred fashion?
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: That's another great moment. All right back here and Patriots
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: Unfiltered eight five five past five hundred is the tp
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: X hotline where up podcasts at Patriots dot com is
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: the new email address. A lot of buzz about this

- 1:26:11Speaker 2: you're in.
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: So it's it's it's got to be connected to the show,
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: but not necessarily Patriots right like.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: Right, No, it's about us, it's about our listeners, it's
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: about stuff we talk about. It's you know, it's it's
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: the community of Patriots, unfiled love it.
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, listener of the week, maybe listen.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: Well we talked talk about email of the week shirt
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: or maybe a signed item or something like that.
- 1:26:38Speaker 7: We have players shirt during pre season.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: Did you ruined it?
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: I ruined it?
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: You didn't, I didn't know. A couple more, a couple
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: more calls before we get the picks. Let's go to first,
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Brad in the Eastern Shore. What's up, Brad? Oh geez,
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Hold Brad, I'm gonna put you on hold.
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 1:26:59Speaker 10: We have a special but Evans here, Evans here has
- 1:27:25Speaker 10: all right, Evan make it quick, got.
- 1:27:28Speaker 18: Picks, gotta hurry.
- 1:27:30Speaker 2: Uh No.
- 1:27:31Speaker 12: Alex Austin at Patriots practice today. He was the loan
- 1:27:35Speaker 12: and player officially absent. We also did not see Venerian
- 1:27:39Speaker 12: low do very much. I would say he is trending
- 1:27:42Speaker 12: towards another d m P. But on the defense side
- 1:27:44Speaker 12: of the ball, Anthony Jennings a little bit more participation
- 1:27:47Speaker 12: today than yesterday. Sounds like he's gonna at least try
- 1:27:51Speaker 12: to give it a go on Sunday for the defense.
- 1:27:55Speaker 12: But offensively, the offensive line goes going for bad to worse,
- 1:28:01Speaker 12: no offense to Trade Jacobs, who looks like he is
- 1:28:05Speaker 12: trending towards I'm starting at left tackle now. We were
- 1:28:09Speaker 12: out there and not to jump to the grousing right
- 1:28:12Speaker 12: away before Fred tees me up. But Taylor Kyle's of
- 1:28:15Speaker 12: Clinticis Yet had a good take on this. I want
- 1:28:18Speaker 12: to give him credit for it. He said that it
- 1:28:20Speaker 12: could be, you know, like Week one with Chuk Sikora
- 1:28:22Speaker 12: for where if it goes very very bad for Trade
- 1:28:26Speaker 12: Jacobs early in that game, maybe Kayden Wallace gives it
- 1:28:29Speaker 12: a go and they try to get Cayden Wallace and
- 1:28:31Speaker 12: they're just like they did with Viderian Lowe in Week one,
- 1:28:34Speaker 12: who came into that game banged up. So I don't
- 1:28:37Speaker 12: completely rule out Cayden Wallace just yet. But if it's
- 1:28:41Speaker 12: one hundred percent healthy trade Jacobs versus fifty to fifty
- 1:28:44Speaker 12: Cayden Wallace.
- 1:28:45Speaker 18: It could be Jacobs to start the game.
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: Yeah, makes sense.
- 1:28:48Speaker 5: I think Jennings is a little bit of an interesting
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: one against a you know, physical team like that you have.
- 1:28:52Speaker 5: He's a big, physical, edge setting kind of a guy.
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: I think I think he's actually been okay, you know,
- 1:28:57Speaker 5: it's for what his role is. I mean, he is
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: what he is, but that's a guy you kind of
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: need against this.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: He showed up with a couple of negative plays in
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: the game the Jets game. He was one of the few.
- 1:29:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:29:07Speaker 12: Yeah, they were doing yesterday, they were doing some of
- 1:29:10Speaker 12: We did get to see some of the run game
- 1:29:13Speaker 12: technique work that they were doing. Obviously outside zone tosses,
- 1:29:16Speaker 12: you know, all the Shanahan stuff, and you know, just
- 1:29:20Speaker 12: watching it unfold right in front of you, you do
- 1:29:22Speaker 12: think of like an Anthony Jennings and you're like, we
- 1:29:24Speaker 12: really need that guy set in the edge of this
- 1:29:27Speaker 12: week and forcing those runs back inside. But yeah, there's
- 1:29:31Speaker 12: a lot of a lot of guys that a little
- 1:29:34Speaker 12: bit different than maybe what Bill would have done in
- 1:29:36Speaker 12: terms of practice. They're out there for attendance and for
- 1:29:40Speaker 12: stretch and then they go down to the lower field
- 1:29:43Speaker 12: and are officially d MPs on the injury report later
- 1:29:47Speaker 12: in the day. So that happened with a couple of
- 1:29:49Speaker 12: guys last yesterday.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: Weather for Santa Clara is supposed to be sunny and
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: pretty warm in the eighties. Do you see guys out
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: there with extra layers.
- 1:29:58Speaker 18: No extra layers. It was little drizzly, little rainy.
- 1:30:02Speaker 12: Had to borrow deuces rain jacket because I didn't come prepared,
- 1:30:04Speaker 12: you know, And that's on me. I have to be
- 1:30:06Speaker 12: more prepared for the condition.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: So I know it's rainy here, but over there it's
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: not going to be nonything going for the heat because
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: you know, I'll tell you something that I heard in
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: the meadow lands that it was sneaky hot. It was
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: very There was like absolutely no breeze. I was totally
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: it was like completely still and the air was like
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: heavy and you know, no excuses, but it's yeah, did
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: you hear that too.
- 1:30:36Speaker 12: I had heard that it was very hot on a
- 1:30:38Speaker 12: field level from our people that were down there, and
- 1:30:41Speaker 12: during the there.
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: Was absolutely no air circulation down there, so anyway, what
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: else you got anything else? So there wasn't grousing but
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: there were takes. Yeah.
- 1:30:51Speaker 12: I said to this to you guys yesterday that that
- 1:30:54Speaker 12: there's a lot of takes these days right now about
- 1:30:57Speaker 12: what's going on with this this football team. It's not
- 1:31:00Speaker 12: so much we're not on the complaining stage of the
- 1:31:02Speaker 12: season yet.
- 1:31:03Speaker 18: Like that that'll come.
- 1:31:04Speaker 12: I know what was us right, But that that'll come,
- 1:31:08Speaker 12: I'm sure when it's freezing and we're all bundled up
- 1:31:11Speaker 12: out there right now.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Not all right, Let's get to a couple TPX phone calls.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Brad is called back from the Eastern Shore. What's up, Brad?
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Sorry Brady about that?
- 1:31:22Speaker 11: No, no, tub All guys listen. This is going on
- 1:31:26Speaker 11: year nineteen for us, So I can handle being cut
- 1:31:29Speaker 11: off once.
- 1:31:29Speaker 13: In a while.
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: Sure.
- 1:31:32Speaker 11: I wanted to call it yesterday and it was too
- 1:31:35Speaker 11: late to get picked up. But the conversation that Paul
- 1:31:39Speaker 11: is having over the left tackle.
- 1:31:42Speaker 13: Is very blatant. When you look at the draft.
- 1:31:45Speaker 11: In the second round, after we took folk that were
- 1:31:50Speaker 11: thick left tackles still on the board, three of them win.
- 1:31:55Speaker 11: In the second round, we picked the right tackle and
- 1:31:59Speaker 11: almost immediately after that, three other left tackles all got
- 1:32:03Speaker 11: taken off the board. If we have taken any of
- 1:32:08Speaker 11: those six left tackles. I have to agree with Paul.
- 1:32:11Speaker 11: Maybe they aren't playing at all pro level, but they're
- 1:32:14Speaker 11: getting experienced. Instead, we took the fifth or sixth wide receiver,
- 1:32:21Speaker 11: and you know, after Jalen Pulp, before we picked Kate Wallace,
- 1:32:26Speaker 11: only two more wide receivers were even picked. And so
- 1:32:30Speaker 11: that tells you that the league saw that there was
- 1:32:35Speaker 11: a big drop off after that first round in wide receivers,
- 1:32:39Speaker 11: which is why there was all the juggling to get
- 1:32:41Speaker 11: those last couple in. We could have had Jalen McMillan,
- 1:32:46Speaker 11: which was Polk's teammates running the exact same reas last year,
- 1:32:51Speaker 11: in the third round, and we would have had our.
- 1:32:54Speaker 12: Left tackle Brad just out of curiosity with the Pulk
- 1:32:58Speaker 12: pick which left tackle would you have wanted them to take?
- 1:33:04Speaker 13: Well, Patrick, Paul, Blake Fischer.
- 1:33:08Speaker 12: Okay, Yeah, So all those guys went and went a
- 1:33:13Speaker 12: four round later. Is my is just in their defense,
- 1:33:16Speaker 12: like picking a guy like Kingsley, Sue Mitia or you know,
- 1:33:21Speaker 12: Blake Fisher, those guys ended up going thirty picks later
- 1:33:25Speaker 12: like that, They might have looked at that as as
- 1:33:28Speaker 12: a reach at that point in the draft. That's all
- 1:33:30Speaker 12: I'm getting at Patri just to play Devil's advocate, that's all.
- 1:33:34Speaker 11: But all I'm saying is there were six left tackle
- 1:33:39Speaker 11: in the second and third round that we could have picked,
- 1:33:42Speaker 11: and we passed on all six of them to take
- 1:33:45Speaker 11: a wide receiver his teammates.
- 1:33:49Speaker 12: Yeah, I hear you, But there there's there's there were
- 1:33:52Speaker 12: six tackles. That's like, again, I'm not trying to just
- 1:33:56Speaker 12: defend them, but Roger Rosengarden is not a left tackle.
- 1:34:00Speaker 18: Roger rosen is a right tackle.
- 1:34:03Speaker 13: I didn't include him.
- 1:34:05Speaker 18: There are other six tackles. Are you talking about then?
- 1:34:07Speaker 12: Because I don't see six left tackles, Like there were
- 1:34:10Speaker 12: six tackles and they missed the run of tackle at
- 1:34:12Speaker 12: the end of the third round. That that's the big
- 1:34:14Speaker 12: second guess, I would say, yeah, excuse me, and second
- 1:34:18Speaker 12: to the third right, that's that's the big second guess.
- 1:34:21Speaker 12: But you know, there are six tackles that went in
- 1:34:24Speaker 12: that span. Not all six of those guys are left tackles.
- 1:34:28Speaker 11: I understand that. But there were six left tackle on
- 1:34:31Speaker 11: the board that got drowned as left tackle and we
- 1:34:37Speaker 11: didn't choose any of them, and we took the right tackle,
- 1:34:40Speaker 11: and now we have a three hundred and eighty pound
- 1:34:42Speaker 11: guard trying to play right tackle. Yeah, and I think
- 1:34:48Speaker 11: that's the problem. We've got so many players out of position.
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:34:52Speaker 11: You know, when you should be a guard. If you
- 1:34:55Speaker 11: drafted Wallace to be the right tackle, put him there.
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:00Speaker 11: Deal with the left side. Ye, the left side had injuries.
- 1:35:02Speaker 11: But at Lee put the guys where they were drafted
- 1:35:05Speaker 11: to play.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: Thanks, Brad, Yeah, I mean, I mean, Brad makes a
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: good point. You know, we can pick at semantics as
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: who was available. I just feel like they had an
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: opportunity to take a guy who had played left tackle,
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: whether it be as a veteran and free agency or
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: in the draft, and they chose not to. I didn't
- 1:35:21Speaker 3: understand why. I mean, I wouldn't have to like bog
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: down the whole show. And you know I wasn't trying
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: to do that. I just no, no, I'm just six.
- 1:35:29Speaker 12: I'm not seeing six left tackles that he's talking about.
- 1:35:31Speaker 12: That was all I was getting it.
- 1:35:32Speaker 3: I even felt like with the Pole pick, you know,
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: they traded down right to get Polk. I think they
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: could have traded up to get another guy who you know,
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: sort of went in that area. You know, Amarus mems
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: or it's.
- 1:35:46Speaker 18: A g Gean was probably realistic mens when like nineteenth Okay.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: So you know somebody, I think if they wanted to
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: be aggressive, they they could have gotten. And I'm not picking.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: I'm not Elliott Wolf. I'm not telling you that the
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: specific name, but they were options.
- 1:36:02Speaker 10: One more call and then we'll get the picks. Patty's
- 1:36:04Speaker 10: inn agawam, what's up, Patty.
- 1:36:07Speaker 19: I'll make it quick. You guys are talking about the game,
- 1:36:09Speaker 19: and to me, stop the run. That's number one on
- 1:36:13Speaker 19: defense because I don't standahands proven he's not afraid to
- 1:36:16Speaker 19: run the ball forty times. If you proved that, you
- 1:36:17Speaker 19: can't stop the run into my four one three sister, Alex.
- 1:36:21Speaker 19: Thank god, this is the last week end of the
- 1:36:22Speaker 19: Big Ee?
- 1:36:24Speaker 18: Me?
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: What was it?
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: What was the last weekend of the Big e until
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: about a week ago, but apparently it's been going on
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: for all of that.
- 1:36:35Speaker 7: I lived within a couple of miles, so Saturday and
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: Sunday I could not leave my house if I wasn't
- 1:36:40Speaker 7: back at it out and back by like nine am.
- 1:36:45Speaker 7: I'm not leaving the rest of the day.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: All right, Okay, so we're gonna. It's that time of
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: the week. I have a question, okay, before we get
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: to what happened last week, Paul, are there any teams
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: on buys this week that they started?
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: No buys this week?
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: Is that next week they start?
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: I do not know what week they start, but no
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: buys this week?
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: Okay, so we got to hurry, Paul. Yes, what happened
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: last week.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: Last week was another bloodbath. Everybody was bad.
- 1:37:18Speaker 18: It's relative.
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: I was nine and seven at the top, which is terrible.
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: Alex and Fred were eight and eight, Evan was seven
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: and nine, and Mike six and ten.
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: Terrible.
- 1:37:30Speaker 18: I'm always gonna stay out of the basement.
- 1:37:32Speaker 2: On this spread.
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: However, Alex was the best at ten and six, followed
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: by Fred at nine and seven, Mike and Evan at
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: eight and eight, and Paul seven and nine. I'm just
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: like the Bizarro year for me. I'm enjoying this so terrible, terrible, terrible,
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: terrible records. Alex twenty seven and twenty one, Mike, Evan
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: and Paul tied at twenty five and twenty three, and
- 1:38:00Speaker 3: Fred twenty four and twenty four. That'd be overall wow,
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: yeah good. However, really it's a complete reversal with a spread.
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: Fred twenty seven nineteen and two. Now that's a solid
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: record within at this point in the season. Yes, that's
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: a solid record. Twenty seven, nineteen and two. He is
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: followed by Alex and Evan at twenty five twenty one
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: and two, then Mike at twenty four twenty two and two,
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: and Paul twenty twenty six in two. Wow, how the
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: Mighty have fallen?
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: Oh okay, We've got a long way to go. It's
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: a long season and it's a long segment, so let's
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: get going.
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: It gets late early there, though, you gotta worry about that.
- 1:38:45Speaker 10: We'll start at one o'clock on Fox. The two and
- 1:38:48Speaker 10: one Saints are at the one in two thousand.
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Why are we not starting on Thursday night?
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: Oh? Oh, there it is. My page wasn't scrolled. So
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: we'll start tonight on Prime Video eight fifteen. The one
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: and two Cowboys are at the one and two Giants,
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: Dallas by six.
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: Like that naverse, like that, naverse, but not enough against Dallas.
- 1:39:12Speaker 4: I think they'll think they'll bounce back, but I'm gonna
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: take the points. However, I think it'll be a close
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: divisional game.
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: Mike's not working Mike. Hello, Mike, Mike's Mike. I don't
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: know everything, you go else everything.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: So Mike has taking Dallas and he's taking the points
- 1:39:28Speaker 3: with the Giants.
- 1:39:29Speaker 7: I'm taking Dallas too. I think it's gonna be a
- 1:39:31Speaker 7: get right game for them.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: I'll give them the points both ways. Okay, have yeah, Dallas, Dallas.
- 1:39:38Speaker 18: I just think the Giants, stinking Dallas needs a get right.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely. Yeah, I'm gonna take Dallas both ways.
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:39:47Speaker 10: I hate having to pick the team. I want to
- 1:39:48Speaker 10: lose rooting for the Giants. Yeah, I have to.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: I have to pick the Cowboys, but I'm rooting for
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: the Giants.
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: And this one course, I also probably won't watch the game.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: So so now we get to Sunday at one that
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: a time shot Fox the two and one Saints at
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: the one and two Falcons.
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: Atlanta by two and a half.
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: Wow, it's a little bit of a little bit of
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: a surprise. Although New Orleans I guess fell back to
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: her a little bit.
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I just don't quite believe in New Orleans anyway.
- 1:40:18Speaker 5: So I'm gonna take Atlanta at home, and I'm gonna
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: lay the points.
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: Actually, I'm going to go Inlanta Atlanta as well.
- 1:40:28Speaker 18: I'm gonna take New Orleans.
- 1:40:29Speaker 12: I still believe a little bit more and then what
- 1:40:32Speaker 12: they're doing that Atlanta team, just some of the things
- 1:40:35Speaker 12: they did down in the stretch against the Chiefs just
- 1:40:37Speaker 12: for lost in that game. So I'm gonna go New Orleans.
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: So I'm gonna take Atlanta both ways, but sort of
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: been underwhelmed with them a little bit in nearly go
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: and I thought they would be better. I haven't really
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: seen it yet, but I'll take the Falcons at home.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: I will take the points. I know it's only two
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: and a half, but this is why I'm leading in
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: the spread.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Are you taking Atlanta to win?
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: I'm taking the points? So who are you taking to
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: win the game?
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: Falcons?
- 1:41:03Speaker 3: Falcons to win.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: But I'm gonna take the points. Isn't that how you
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: do it?
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: Well, you took the points. I didn't know who you
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: took to win the game, right, I know who you
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: taken with the spread, I didn't know who you took to.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna yeah, but that's why I'm winning. It's like
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: Abbott and Caste because I'm not.
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: Clear you think it was like rehearsed, right, That's all
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: Fred baffles me every week.
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: Another game on Fox at one o'clock, the zero and
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: three Bengals. I love it against the one and two Panthers.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: Cincinnati by four, four yikes.
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: I think Cincinnati gets it done. They get on the
- 1:41:39Speaker 5: win column. But is that the red rifle red rifle?
- 1:41:43Speaker 5: Right red rifle rifle?
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: We used to not be sure? What is your nickname was?
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: Nah?
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: I don't think he's that good. I'm gonna take I'll
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: lay the points too, just thinking.
- 1:41:51Speaker 7: About it, since he Cincy.
- 1:41:56Speaker 18: I'm going to go Cincinnati, but I think I'm gonna
- 1:41:59Speaker 18: take the pan. There's the cover.
- 1:42:01Speaker 12: I just there's something smelly going on with the Bengals.
- 1:42:04Speaker 12: There are a much better team, so I'll take them
- 1:42:06Speaker 12: to win the game, but I have no confidence in
- 1:42:08Speaker 12: them right now covering a spread.
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: Dalton going against his old team too, Oh ye, revenge tour.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Cincinnati both ways because I think Carolina
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: got their bump last week and that'll go away. It's
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: more of an anti Panthers pick than a pro Bengals.
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: Well. The thing about the Bengals is it doesn't seem
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: like there's much wrong with their offense. But uh, I'm
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: gonna take the Panthers to.
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: Win, to win, the Panthers to win.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: Yeah, why not? I hate the Bengals. It's a throwaway pick.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: But Sunday at one on Fox.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: Like, I'm still winning even though I'm not trying.
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: That's right, That's right. You know what one and two
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: Rams at the one and two Bears.
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: The Bears by three.
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: I thought this was an interesting spread. I double checked it.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: This is one where the Sharps know something. They know something.
- 1:42:59Speaker 3: Well, they know that the whole Rams team is not playing.
- 1:43:03Speaker 3: But that was the case last week when they beat
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: the Niners.
- 1:43:08Speaker 5: I'm gonna guess that Evan's pretty high on the Rams
- 1:43:09Speaker 5: right now. But I'm going to ride that way too.
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the Rams of the upsets on the road.
- 1:43:16Speaker 7: I'm going to apprehensively take the home team. I'll give
- 1:43:19Speaker 7: the Rams the points.
- 1:43:23Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm taking the Rams. Matthew Stafford in that game
- 1:43:26Speaker 12: last week against the forty nine Ers is some of
- 1:43:28Speaker 12: the best quarterback tape I've seen in a long time.
- 1:43:30Speaker 12: I Mean, he was just absolutely outside of his mind
- 1:43:32Speaker 12: in that game. I think he's primed. He's ready for
- 1:43:36Speaker 12: a run at this thing again. So I'm taking the Rams.
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: Yah, I'm going to take the Rams too, just because
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: I think they're so much better. But it is Fred's right.
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: It's like a complete red flag kind of spread.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I think Williams, despite the record, is he's learning
- 1:43:54Speaker 2: every game, and I think that he has a good
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: game this week. I think the Bears played good d
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: at home, and I think they win this game. So
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with the Bears one o'clock on CBS.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: Hello friends, it's the three and oh Vikings at the
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: two and one.
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: Packers NFC game on CBS. Green Bay by three. I'm
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: not sure about Jordan Love, still questionable.
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: Seems like he's given it a go. Gosh, you know
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: what I'm gonna I'm gonna go with green Bay at home.
- 1:44:28Speaker 4: I know, I really new.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: Minnesota's been really good, Brian Flora's defense playing out of
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: their mind. If it's not Jordan Love, it's gonna be
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: really tough. But I just I've gotten away from picking
- 1:44:37Speaker 5: Green Bay and I like what they're doing up there,
- 1:44:39Speaker 5: So I'm gonna go back to Green Bay and take
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: them to hold serve at home.
- 1:44:43Speaker 7: Is there a thing, Paul, where like one team owns
- 1:44:45Speaker 7: the other any.
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: Green Bay, and green Bay owns that division for a
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: long time, but Alex Aaron Rodgers is not there anymore.
- 1:44:52Speaker 3: But yes, Green Bay in Lambeaux especially.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: Well, there was a time when Zimmer was their hea
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: coach that he had. He always gave Rogers a hard time.
- 1:45:04Speaker 7: You know, I've been getting burned not picking Minnesota to
- 1:45:08Speaker 7: win these games, honestly, But I'm gonna just split it.
- 1:45:12Speaker 7: Green Bay wins, give the points to Minnesota.
- 1:45:17Speaker 12: That's the That's a great coaching I think probably two
- 1:45:21Speaker 12: of the hottest coaching staffs in the league right now.
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: That's not where I was going with this Game of
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: the week.
- 1:45:31Speaker 12: Kevin O'Connell, Brian Flores, that ticket right now is as
- 1:45:35Speaker 12: good as any coaching staff in the NFL.
- 1:45:37Speaker 18: I'm gonna take Minnesota in this game. I think mclik Willis.
- 1:45:42Speaker 12: Is going to play for the Packers, and you can
- 1:45:44Speaker 12: only get so much out of Malik Willis before it
- 1:45:46Speaker 12: starts to catch up to you that it's not Jordan Love.
- 1:45:49Speaker 18: So I'm going to take the Vikings.
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: I'm a little worried about Sam Donald and his health,
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: but I'm going to take the Vikings too, and I'll
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: take the hat trick of losing with the Packers three
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: weeks in a row. Doubting. I think if Jordan Love
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: comes back, the way that the Vikings defense is playing
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: right now and the way Flores is confusing people, it's
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: not going to be a great opponent to come back against.
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: So I'm going to take the Vikings.
- 1:46:11Speaker 10: I am also going to take the Vikings to win
- 1:46:14Speaker 10: this game. Sunday at one on CBS, the zero to
- 1:46:17Speaker 10: three Jaguars are at the two to one Texans.
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: Houston by six and a half. Oh boy, and angry Houston.
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: I'm not entirely sure, are we right to be? Like,
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: Trevor Lawrence is completely done, he's washed.
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: They have to move on. I think it feels a
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: little premature to me. It feels a little bit.
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: There's something going on, something mental going on. Just doesn't
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: look right.
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: All right, you convinced me. I'm going to take Houston
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: at home.
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: But I'm gonna take those points because I think it's
- 1:46:46Speaker 5: a division game and maybe Trevor Lawrence shows a little
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: something more.
- 1:46:50Speaker 7: Yeah, I need Jacksonville to show like anything, So I'll
- 1:46:53Speaker 7: give them the points to especially with that spread going up.
- 1:46:57Speaker 7: Houston to win Jacksonville to cover.
- 1:47:01Speaker 12: I'm gonna take Houston both ways. There's some clips out
- 1:47:03Speaker 12: there of Trevor Lawrence like spinning in the pocket when
- 1:47:06Speaker 12: there's no pressure on him, and it's like just completely
- 1:47:08Speaker 12: seeing ghosts and things like that. I have concerned, especially
- 1:47:12Speaker 12: against Tamiko Ryans and that defense, that he's going to
- 1:47:15Speaker 12: be able to do much.
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't see them getting better this week against Houston.
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: I think the Texans are angry, they'll bounce back, so
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: I'll take Houston to win. I do agree with Mike though,
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: Division game. Six and a half points seems like a lot.
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: I'll take the points.
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna take Texans both ways. If the Jaguar season
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: really does go completely bust and they've got the first,
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: should they be going looking at a quarterback?
- 1:47:39Speaker 3: Does Bill Belichick make that pick?
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean, would you give up on Lawrence if
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: you have the option to get I'd have.
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: To see how it unfolds. If he continues like this,
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: you gotta think about it.
- 1:47:50Speaker 18: I would imagine just a coaching change would come first,
- 1:47:52Speaker 18: and the contract.
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: And they just gave him a contract. But yeah, it's
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: also a very easy contract to manipulate. Yeah, there was
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: you know the funline about that.
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: This week, the Raiders look at that and say we
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: can make them better, and you know they yeah.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, trade them.
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: You don't just like, of course you trade them. But
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: I'm just talking about picking a quarterback in the draft.
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: If you're the Jaguars one o'clock on CBS, the three
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: and oh, what players that catch the three and oh,
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Steelers are at the one and two.
- 1:48:26Speaker 18: Colts, everybody's already on your case about it.
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: I don't really care.
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: Steelers coats.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: Pittsburgh by one and a half.
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: Really, I know Paul thinks Pittsburgh stinks.
- 1:48:40Speaker 18: They do kind of.
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: I think Anthony Richardson's a he's a roller coaster kind
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: of stinks to So I'm gonna go.
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna go on the with the defense there.
- 1:48:46Speaker 5: Uh you know, Jonathan Taylor is is very good though,
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: but I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh and what was points,
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: I'll lay that point and a half.
- 1:48:56Speaker 7: Uh yeah, Steelers, Steelers.
- 1:48:59Speaker 12: I don't like picking Anthony Richardson right now. I think
- 1:49:03Speaker 12: he has been up and down, but at some point
- 1:49:06Speaker 12: the Steelers are this little run of theirs to start
- 1:49:09Speaker 12: the year is going to run out. So I'm gonna
- 1:49:10Speaker 12: try to jump on it, and I'm going to take
- 1:49:12Speaker 12: the Colts at home as underdogs.
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: I like the pick. I'm not going to do it,
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: but I like the rationale and I just don't think
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: Pittsburgh's that good every year. I really don't Pittsburgh. I'm
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: going to take Pittsburgh. It's again, it's more of an
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: anti Colts pick. I think the Colts have been a
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: little disappointing. I thought they'd be better.
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to take the Colts to win this game.
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: So that's ok.
- 1:49:37Speaker 4: There is.
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: They're at home.
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: I don't think I think the Steelers are smelling themselves
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: I don't think it's a bad pick. I'm saying, so
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: there it is. That's what I'm laughing at.
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: Uh No, I think the Colts are a better team
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: than they've shown and they're going to start playing that way.
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: One o'clock at CBS one in two, Broncos are at
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: the two and one Jets.
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: Jets by seven and a half.
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: That's a lot.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: Jets did look very good last weekend's Patriots though, I'm
- 1:50:06Speaker 5: gonna take the Jets both ways.
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: Me too.
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: I feel like the Jets start to get a little
- 1:50:12Speaker 7: momentum here, going a little run.
- 1:50:15Speaker 12: Definitely, taking the Jets to win. Seven and a half
- 1:50:18Speaker 12: is a big number right now. I'll give the Broncos
- 1:50:24Speaker 12: the points, but I don't love that, but I just
- 1:50:27Speaker 12: that's a lot.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: I'm with Evan. I'm gonna take that hook the seven
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: and a half, but I'll take the Jets to win
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: the game.
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: I'll take the Jets, but I'll take the points. This
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: is all about Aaron Rodgers. The Sharps think that he's
- 1:50:42Speaker 2: going to have you know, yeah, that he's back. But
- 1:50:45Speaker 2: I think Sean Payton knows what he's doing and I
- 1:50:47Speaker 2: don't think he's going to allow him to run around
- 1:50:49Speaker 2: like the Patriots did.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think that the fear for us picking
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: Denver is what Mike said, the bow knicks picks against
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: that defense.
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: No, that's true.
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: You get some pressure on him and he's making some
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: bad decisions.
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: Yep, yep. One o'clock on Fox the two and one Eagles.
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: Did you know that Jalen Hurts is a winner? He's
- 1:51:10Speaker 2: a winner.
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: I heard that a few times.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: A winner.
- 1:51:13Speaker 18: Not sure about that, coach.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: Two and one Eagles at the two and one Buccaneers.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: Philly by two.
- 1:51:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what, I'm going to take Tampa Bay
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: at home. I just their defense. I'm just not sold
- 1:51:28Speaker 5: on Philly. I'm not really sol on Tampa either, but
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with the home team home down.
- 1:51:36Speaker 7: Philly Philly.
- 1:51:39Speaker 12: I feel like I'm taking too many underdogs, so I'm
- 1:51:42Speaker 12: going to take Philly. But they're not playing great football either,
- 1:51:45Speaker 12: so I'm a little torn here.
- 1:51:46Speaker 18: But I'm going to take the Eagles.
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: So I think Philly is much better. But not without
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: a J. Brown and DeVante Smith, I can't do it.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: I'm taking Tampa.
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Tampa at home, Baker Bay. The league is better
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: with a minute, so.
- 1:52:04Speaker 18: He isn't it?
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely, Thankfully the league has never been better because
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: he's been in the league since like twenty eighteen or
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: nineteen or eighteen four five.
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: On Fox the two and one Commanders, they're the hot
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: team right now against the one and two Cardinals. Everybody
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: pointing to Daniels, See see what happens when you let
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: a guy play right away?
- 1:52:25Speaker 18: Yeah, it's true. I agree.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Arizona by three and a half half a good offense.
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: Arizona by Yeah.
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: Cliff Kingsbury revenge game, maybe maybe not. I'm gonna go
- 1:52:38Speaker 5: with Arizona at home. I think it'll be a close game, though,
- 1:52:41Speaker 5: I'm going to take Washington for the points.
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: Please with the hook same here.
- 1:52:50Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Arizona at home
- 1:52:52Speaker 12: as well, but at three point game, so I'll take
- 1:52:57Speaker 12: Washington to cover. I don't I'm not ready yet to
- 1:53:00Speaker 12: anoint the Commanders just yet.
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Arizona both ways. I think Washington
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: has a predictable letdown after a big Monday night road win.
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: I will take the Cardinals both ways as well. Top
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: five offense. Now we're gonna skip over the Patriots at
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: four oh five and move down to four to twenty five.
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: On CBS, the three and oho Chiefs are at the
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: two and one Chargers.
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: The Chiefs by seven and a half, seven and a half.
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: Jay Herbow continuing my streak not picking against Kansas City.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: Give me Kansas City, lay in the points.
- 1:53:36Speaker 7: I'll take Kansas City set eight and a half, seven
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: and a half seven night, I'll give the Chargers the points.
- 1:53:45Speaker 18: Yeah, I didn't do the same thing.
- 1:53:46Speaker 12: I think the Chargers try to run the ball and
- 1:53:49Speaker 12: keep the score manageable, so it'll be less than a touchdown.
- 1:53:53Speaker 12: But those Chiefs are just they're winning games and right now,
- 1:53:57Speaker 12: like vintage games that not really you doing too.
- 1:54:00Speaker 18: Much on offense, just enough. Yeah, it's weird.
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: I'm going to do the same Kansas City, but I'll
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: take the lack. No Herbert though, right doesn't sound like you. Yeah,
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: I'm less. Yeah, I'm gonna seven and a Half's a
- 1:54:12Speaker 3: lot for a division game. I'll take Kansas City and
- 1:54:15Speaker 3: I'll take the lack.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean AFC West. You can never really tell.
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: Sometimes there's weird games. But I'm gonna take the Chiefs
- 1:54:22Speaker 2: both ways. In this game, they're due for an offensive breakout.
- 1:54:27Speaker 2: So Travis Kelcey talking about you know, I think he
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: has a pretty good game this week for the first
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: time this season.
- 1:54:33Speaker 18: There's some there's some stuff going on there with Travis Kelsey.
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 1:54:38Speaker 3: I like mcshay's take, but he'll shake it off with it.
- 1:54:41Speaker 7: Oh my god.
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: On CBS, the one and two Browns are at the
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: one and two Raiders.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: Raiders by two, Dick.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: I just don't like what's going on with Vegas. I mean,
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: they're just up and down. Hard to undisciplined team. Cleveland,
- 1:54:58Speaker 5: it's hard to pick them. Let's kind of grow both
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: these games.
- 1:55:00Speaker 4: You know what, I'm gonna go with Cleveland on the road, please,
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: I am two.
- 1:55:06Speaker 18: Yeah, I trust Cleveland a little bit more right now. Cleveland, Yep.
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: I'm a little surprised that we're all in agreement. I'm
- 1:55:12Speaker 3: gonna take Cleveland too.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: Me too.
- 1:55:14Speaker 10: Defense eight twenty on NBC Universo and Telexitos.
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: Oh and Peacock. I don't have Tellos and Peacock.
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: Does I say Peacock here on Sunday Night Football on
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: Sunday Night lettery it doesn't, but maybe that's a given. Yeah, okay,
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: Uh the three and oh Bills are at the one
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: and two Ravens Baltimore by two and a half.
- 1:55:41Speaker 9: Yo.
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: Yeah, give me the Bills. Give me the Bills. Just
- 1:55:45Speaker 5: impressed with moving the ball around. Tough to defend. Nobody
- 1:55:49Speaker 5: a key off of Josh Allen, As Evan has said,
- 1:55:52Speaker 5: many times, MVP candidate right now, So Buffalo, I.
- 1:55:56Speaker 7: Like Buffalo too. It's hard to imagine Baltimore with that record,
- 1:56:01Speaker 7: but I'm gonna take you. I'm gonna stick with Buffalo.
- 1:56:04Speaker 7: Stick with my intuition.
- 1:56:05Speaker 12: When we look back in January and Josh Allen is
- 1:56:09Speaker 12: being presented the MVP Trophy. We're gonna say, signature wins
- 1:56:14Speaker 12: at Baltimore Week four, one of them taking the Bills
- 1:56:17Speaker 12: both ways.
- 1:56:19Speaker 18: He's best quarterback in the league right now, thank you?
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: I will take Baltimore to win this game. I think
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: that they run the ball forty times, and they run
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: right at Buffalo, and you just can't win every game,
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: right Buffalo can't yet.
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: Oh you've read my mind. They're not gonna go seventeen
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: and oh and they're gonna you know, if you're gonna
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: lose to a team Ravens at home makes sense. So
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: Ravens short week, Ravens win this game.
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: Now the primetime game, yep.
- 1:56:45Speaker 2: Do we like doubleheaders on Monday Night?
- 1:56:47Speaker 16: No?
- 1:56:49Speaker 18: I don't care for it.
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: I kind of do.
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: I would have it started, Yeah, I don't catch more.
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: Maybe one at seven, well one.
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: Is at seven thirty. But yeah, so.
- 1:56:58Speaker 3: Seven thirty is to a Lake Ram pause.
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: Seven thirty on ESPN Jeopard, ESPN Deportes. It can be
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: owing three Titans at the one and two Dolphins.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: It's actually Miami by one.
- 1:57:12Speaker 18: It's also a game I don't need to.
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: Actually, Seacrest is hosting Wheel Now, that's seven o'clock.
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: That's how much the Shrups like the Titans. Two is
- 1:57:20Speaker 2: not playing and they still can't get fair.
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: I just I still have a hard time fiction and
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: we'll let Will Levi's going to Miami and winning there.
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: But I guess what I'm doing.
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: It, Yeah, spend one Miami's family.
- 1:57:32Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, so it's different on our sheet, I'm gonna
- 1:57:39Speaker 7: pick a Tennessee upset.
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:57:42Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm also going with the Titoons. I just, uh,
- 1:57:46Speaker 12: it's funny, Paul, how everybody says that two is terrible
- 1:57:48Speaker 12: and then they can't win without Tuous, so I can't.
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: Even move the ball from here to they are.
- 1:57:52Speaker 18: I'm going to go with the Titoons.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: Yeah. Tennessee looks really bad to me, but I'm gonna take.
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: I'm on record about Tim Boyle. I think he's going today.
- 1:58:05Speaker 3: He's playing right. They liked the way he looked when
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: he came in to mop up better than Skyler Thompson.
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: So plus Thompson's hurt, I'm gonna take Tennessee.
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a real tough one, you know. I
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: my instinct says, you know, Dolphins just get it together
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: and you know, pull off a win, and I'm kind
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: of hoping they do so that when we play them,
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: you know, it's a little bit easier.
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you think if they win that makes the game easier.
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: For if they lose, they're done. They might just quit.
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: No, they won't quit.
- 1:58:33Speaker 3: That's what you're looking for.
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna take the Dolphins to win that.
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: You can't lose at home to Tennessee and have aspirations.
- 1:58:41Speaker 10: I'm gonna take the Dolphins to win eight point fifteen
- 1:58:44Speaker 10: on ABC and ESPN plus the three and ohero Seahawks
- 1:58:48Speaker 10: are at the two and one Lions Detroit by three.
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: And a half.
- 1:58:53Speaker 4: Now, this is a good game, though. I will tune
- 1:58:55Speaker 4: in for this one too. Good teams. I'm gonna go
- 1:58:57Speaker 4: with Detwi.
- 1:58:59Speaker 18: You'll go to better n back up for it.
- 1:59:01Speaker 4: Yeah, set an alarm and wake.
- 1:59:03Speaker 10: Up for it.
- 1:59:05Speaker 2: A little.
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: It didn't alert wake up, dumbass double Detroit.
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: Double d Okay.
- 1:59:14Speaker 12: I'm gonna go with Detroit both ways as well. I
- 1:59:16Speaker 12: think they're starting to roll a little bit there.
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: Similar to my Buffalo Baltimore pick. I'm gonna take Detroit.
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: Seattle can't win them all.
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna take the points though Detroit wins, but
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: I'll take those that three and a half. Thank you,
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: sharps and the chalk. All right, now we move back
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: to four h five and this game is on Fox.
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: The one and two Patriots are at the one and
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: two forty nine Ersnoiners by ten and a half.
- 1:59:47Speaker 18: That's bad.
- 1:59:48Speaker 4: I can't do it.
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: You'd be on your what third fourth left tackle with
- 1:59:53Speaker 5: Jacob's I'm gonna go with San Francisco twenty seven to ten.
- 1:59:58Speaker 7: San Francisco twenty eight, New England thirteen.
- 2:00:07Speaker 12: I'm gonna go San Francisco twenty, Patriots nine. I think
- 2:00:11Speaker 12: the Patriots move the ball a couple of times, but
- 2:00:13Speaker 12: kick field goals. I don't expect the Niners to score
- 2:00:17Speaker 12: a ton of points in this game. They are pretty
- 2:00:19Speaker 12: banged up on offense, so I'm gonna give them twenty
- 2:00:22Speaker 12: and nice comfortable home win for the Niners.
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: Alex's score is way off. It's going to be twenty
- 2:00:28Speaker 3: seven to thirteen. Oh. I just think there's too much there.
- 2:00:33Speaker 3: And this is the opposite of Fred's theory. They have
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: to win this urgency in San Francisco. You can't go
- 2:00:41Speaker 3: one in three. You can't lose games at home to
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: teams that you're favored by ten and a half points against.
- 2:00:46Speaker 3: I think they're going to be focused. I recognize the
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: personnel losses, but I think they have too much. Even
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: with the personnel losses, weapons, weapons, George Kittle looks like
- 2:00:57Speaker 3: he's coming back. Brandon Ayuk, Juwan Jenning, That's that's gonna
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: be still plenty to deal with.
- 2:01:03Speaker 7: Also, I don't think enough's been said about like the
- 2:01:05Speaker 7: secondary is pretty banged up right now, Like John Jones
- 2:01:07Speaker 7: is on the injury report yesterday, Gonzo on the injury report,
- 2:01:12Speaker 7: not good, not good.
- 2:01:14Speaker 10: I will take the forty nine ers, twenty seven seventeen seven,
- 2:01:20Speaker 10: So I'll take the points. Patriot Patriots sneak in that,
- 2:01:25Speaker 10: sneaking under the wire and cover it's a lot of points.
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: Yeah, be fun.
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: I like it fun to watch where they scored that
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: many ones.
