- 0:06We all did. Nice.
- 0:09Yes, welcoming 1 and all to Bangor management, The Fantasy

- 0:18How y'all feeling going a little West today with our divisional
- 0:22breakdown the Central Division? I can always talk about your
- 0:25picks. The roast begin.
- 0:28Yeah. Yes, yes, we were all excited.
- 0:32So yeah, we're going to be breaking down the central
- 0:35division. This is a great one.
- 0:37I find there's so much to talk about here, tons of fantasy
- 0:40relevant players. Definitely a top four division.
- 0:42Yeah, I'd say so. At least top five.
- 0:47Yeah, what they said. So yeah, let us dive in before

- 1:09Join the community, ask us all your questions and.
- 1:12Josh, I just saw one of your picks.
- 1:14What the bleep for for your boy cap?
- 1:19Yeah, it's going to be a good pick.
- 1:21But it's going to be a good pick.
- 1:22Yeah, you'll see. All right.
- 1:24Again, any bad pics I have I just blame on Eva and it's easy
- 1:27business. OK, shall we begin with?
- 1:32#8. At #8 We've got the Chicago
- 1:36Blackhawks last year they finished #8 Josh and Kevin have
- 1:39them ranked #8 Jakey has them ranked #7 Some notable players.
- 1:44Connor Bedard. Don't Call My Name, Don't Call
- 1:47My Name. Ryan Denado, Spencer Knight,
- 1:50Frank Nazar, Sam Rinzel, What is EDS and last year their NHL
- 1:56power play ranking as they want to guess.
- 1:59I mean, I saw. 29. No ranked #7 in the league.
- 2:04Really. Yeah.
- 2:05How does this happen? Who knows?
- 2:07Are you sure? Yeah.
- 2:08That's crazy. That's crazy.
- 2:11I don't think. That's a huge surprise.
- 2:12I know, it's crazy. I think we've had a team where
- 2:15we've spoken about their fantasy assets and then it goes from
- 2:19such a big tear down from the first name to the second name.
- 2:22Yeah, Connor Bidart and Ryan Donato, who we love as like a
- 2:26late round, you know, sleeper candidate.
- 2:28But just goes to show they're not really putting a lot of
- 2:31talent on. Them, no, it's crazy.
- 2:32I mean, in terms of someone you're taking in the 1st 5
- 2:35rounds, the 1st 10 rounds, pretty much the only guy you're
- 2:41taking the 1st 10 rounds probably on this team.
- 2:43Yeah. And then Denado, you taken some
- 2:45double digit rounds as a nice sleeper.
- 2:48Knight is A0G guy, you're not gonna take him early.
- 2:51And then Nazar we spoke about as a possible breakout.
- 2:55And then Rinzel should be the power play one quarterback and
- 2:58they were ranked #7 last year. So that could be a good spot to
- 3:01be. You think there's like, like
- 3:02election off is not gonna not gonna be that guy.
- 3:05I think Ryan tells the guy. But I don't think it's like a
- 3:07lock. Yeah, they definitely could be
- 3:09up for grabs if they don't do well.
- 3:10Because Loginov was drafted to be that next guy, like the next
- 3:14big thing for them. This is definitely gonna be
- 3:17another bottle of the pack team. There's no question.
- 3:19The reason I have them at 7 is just because the team I have at
- 3:238 I think is worse. Completely all there.
- 3:26Is, I mean, the thing we have at 7, I would say has a lot more
- 3:29talent, yeah. But somehow.
- 3:32I I don't. I don't.
- 3:33Just like Ken Bernard take that step.
- 3:36I mean, like he was supposed to be a McDavid level prospect.
- 3:39Clearly hasn't happened yet, but he was better last year than I
- 3:42think people think he was. I'd say so.
- 3:47I mean, 67, yeah, 67 and 82 last year and the year before, 61 and
- 3:5268. It's not such a crazy thing to
- 3:54think that someone like of his age can just make that jump. 20
- 3:59you know. He's don't have to defend a pick
- 4:01while you're like one off from. The No.
- 4:03This is nowhere near the most egregious thing you're going to
- 4:06talk about this episode. I think it's I I'm very
- 4:10confident in my later ones, but but you know, Nazar could have a
- 4:14really good year. I think that Bidard is really
- 4:19the only one I'm kind of interested in taking in the top
- 4:2110 rounds, to be honest, from this team.
- 4:23Yeah, exactly. And Spencer Knight is a question
- 4:26mark to me. He'll be like a volume like guy
- 4:31that you stream. For free on the way for Why?
- 4:33You have to do with them. Yeah, for sure.
- 4:35I mean there's like, is he Montabone of the?
- 4:37World. I was gonna say honestly, how
- 4:39many goalies would you take ahead of him?
- 4:40Like, I think he's probably on the bottom of the pack of terms
- 4:43of starting goalies. In terms of starting guys, who's
- 4:45not gonna split the stars, He's gotta be the last one.
- 4:47I can't think. Maybe ask her off on San Jose's
- 4:49lower. I think I'd rather have ask her
- 4:51of. I would rather ask Rob as well.
- 4:54Then there you go. Yeah.
- 4:55I can't think of anyone else like.
- 4:56That it would be. Lower.
- 4:59OK, that's a. Good pills hurt, so your give.
- 5:01Oh my God. You know, yeah.
- 5:04I think I'd rather spend something there.
- 5:05You go. We found one either.
- 5:08Way, but if it was UPL healthy I'd probably take UPL.
- 5:10Yeah, honestly. Jet Greaves.
- 5:13I mean, he's not even the starter, he's the back, yeah.
- 5:15Everyone loves the Drew holiday, OK?
- 5:19But I do want to say Frank Nasser is like the only other
- 5:21option that's kind of like tantalizing here that I feel
- 5:23like could be good. But if he's good, he's gonna be
- 5:25like the type of guy I guess, like, you know, .75 points, .2
- 5:29power play points and you're not expecting many shots, hits,
- 5:33blocks, faceoffs. Like, yeah, so it was very
- 5:36one-dimensional. But if you're in a deep points
- 5:38league, that that. Could be.
- 5:39I will say they're going to use Burakovsky.
- 5:41They're going to really try to get the best out of them.
- 5:43It's not that he's such an amazing player, but he has years
- 5:46where, yeah, he's been good. He's had some fantasy relevant
- 5:48years. Best on Colorado.
- 5:50Yeah, it was 6180 there. I mean, that's not horrible.
- 5:53You can kind of make that work. It's not the surrounding cast
- 5:56you want for Bedard. But yeah, I'm in on Donado,
- 5:58though. I feel like he has, like he's
- 6:00the one guy that has category coverage.
- 6:01He's tied to Bidar. They had chemistry last year.
- 6:03Like if I want anybody on this team, it's like, yeah.
- 6:06Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:07Is it where you taking he's gonna go?
- 6:08He's gonna go undrafted, mostly leagues out there.
- 6:10Like if you're in a deep enough league, he'll be drafted for
- 6:12sure. Like in our league, he'll
- 6:14probably be drafted. Sure.
- 6:14I mean, one of us is definitely. Taking him on anybody's radar, I
- 6:18feel people are down on him. I think like last year was one
- 6:20hit one year and that's it. But I really think that he
- 6:23developed chemistry with Bedard and he's.
- 6:24And there's just no one else is something to be said for just
- 6:27having no other? Options just because he's old
- 6:29people are just like is he breaking on a 29 years old but.
- 6:31Like. Sometimes just the different
- 6:34situation your deployment. I mean, honestly, like we think
- 6:36Bedard's gonna take a step forward, so even if he's just
- 6:38along for the ride and he's someone competent who could
- 6:41finish with darts plays, yeah, that's all you need.
- 6:43Alright, let's move to number. Is this the weakest defensive
- 6:47core in the? Lead though.
- 6:50Probably it has potential, a lot of young guys, but right now
- 6:55pretty garbage. I wouldn't.
- 6:57Yeah, it was worse. On the top of your head.
- 7:00Rangers. No kidding.
- 7:01They're just too young. They don't have enough.
- 7:04Yeah, you know, veteran. In the rebuild won't won't give
- 7:07them too much grief for that. Honestly this next one, other
- 7:10than one defenseman has probably the worst defensive course than.
- 7:13So let's talk about #7. At #7 We've got the Nashville
- 7:16Predators last year, they ranked #7.
- 7:19Josh and Kevin have them ranked #7.
- 7:20Jake has them ranked #8. Was trying to be different.
- 7:23Yeah, notable players Philip Forsberg, Roman Yosi, UC Saros,
- 7:27Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marso, Ryan O'Reilly.
- 7:30Their NHL power play ranking last year was 18th in the
- 7:33league. If you look at these names and
- 7:35you're like, why is this team so bad?
- 7:37Yeah, it's crazy. But after last year, I don't
- 7:41think a lot of people have high hopes about the Predators, and I
- 7:43don't see why people would. They haven't really improved
- 7:45since the last year and they were pretty awful.
- 7:47Yeah, just not clicking. This feels like a lot of old
- 7:50guys got older and they were bad last year.
- 7:52So how big can the jump really be?
- 7:54And also just goes to show how stacked this division is.
- 7:57I think the division is has a lot of top end teams that are
- 8:00like actual contenders. And so, I mean, I'm not going to
- 8:04pick them to make the playoffs. Do you think there they would be
- 8:08better than Columbus if they were in the Metropolitan?
- 8:10No, no, I like Columbus. Better.
- 8:12Yeah, so it. Was really, really bad last
- 8:14year. Yeah, I, I really just, this is
- 8:17probably the most stacked division.
- 8:19I just feel like there's so many good teams here.
- 8:22But truth be told, on top of that, you listed a bunch of
- 8:26great players. It just doesn't work.
- 8:28Sometimes it's just. Not, I mean they have a problem
- 8:31with the 2C as well because they don't like playing Stamkos at
- 8:34centre for some reason. Yeah.
- 8:35And so we're second line is gonna be Evangelista who?
- 8:39Honestly. I've been able to sign.
- 8:40Him, they haven't been able to sign him, but he's like a good
- 8:42prospect. Like I'm kind of excited from
- 8:44what he can do. But then you got Fedor
- 8:47Svechnikov, who is going to be there to see going into the
- 8:51season, maybe Stamkos has more of that, you know, reliability
- 8:54and and responsibility. But yeah, it.
- 8:57Just doesn't make sense because they did not have as good of a
- 8:59team two years ago and they were very good and then they got good
- 9:03players and then it just didn't work.
- 9:04I mean, I don't. Know too many moves it felt
- 9:06like. Yeah, feelings in the kitchen.
- 9:08Yeah, and I feel like it was such a trots is like first year
- 9:12as GM, and I feel like that's like something like a fan would
- 9:15do what he did. You just go in there, you think
- 9:17about this room, I'm just gonna sign every big name this
- 9:19offseason and they're all good, so it'll work out.
- 9:22But I think it's more complicated than that.
- 9:24Also all the big names you signed all happen to be north of
- 9:2730 so he wasn't necessarily like prepping his team for a
- 9:31beneficial future and he also started shipping out a bunch of
- 9:34prospects too for different trades.
- 9:36So definitely don't like the direction the team has taken and
- 9:39I don't see why they would be better this year than.
- 9:40Last year, there's there's no reason and they I'm looking at
- 9:44this roster from two years ago and the one they had last year
- 9:48was better on paper much actually, and it just didn't
- 9:51work. And this year versus last year,
- 9:53you've got Yoshi, who none of us think is going to play the whole
- 9:55season. Yeah.
- 9:56Who's there next? Best defenseman?
- 9:58Brady Shea. Yeah, they have Brady Shea, and
- 10:01then who's playing Power Play one with Yoshi out once, like
- 10:04when he inevitably gets injured or load managed Nick
- 10:07Blankenberge. Blankenberge.
- 10:08Actually. Yeah, yeah, actually.
- 10:11So that's. OK, I guess.
- 10:13Maybe nothing to write home about, yeah.
- 10:15For sure. So that's why I just have those
- 10:17flipped. I think that there's.
- 10:19Voices that were like all, you know, just not, not thriving
- 10:23with this, with this team. Yeah, definitely not enthused.
- 10:26Do you still think the first line this team is valuable
- 10:29though for fantasy? For me, Forsberg I still a
- 10:32second round pick. Yep, Yoshi is like a fourth,
- 10:35fifth round pick. Marsha So I would still take in
- 10:38the double digit rounds or something like that because of.
- 10:40The she'll go around round 10 like he's that's kind of where
- 10:44he's going. It's still don't hate him there,
- 10:46Stamkos I'm not touching. O'Reilly, I'm not touching
- 10:48unless you're specifically need the face off wins stuff.
- 10:52I'll take him as a as a volume guy, but I think he'll get taken
- 10:55earlier than I want him. That's pretty much my my summary
- 10:57of all these guys. Do you, are you worried at all
- 10:59with Forsberg? You know, another year older,
- 11:02slight regression. I don't see him doing worse than
- 11:05last year. Last year he was .93.
- 11:07He was, we talked about this a bit where he just was super slow
- 11:10to start the year and then turned it on in the second-half
- 11:11of the year. So I don't see why he would have
- 11:14a worse season last year. They were so bad last year.
- 11:16I don't think they can get worse than they were last year, but I
- 11:19think they're going to stay similar.
- 11:20So I see him hovering around point, lying to a point per game
- 11:23while still having elite shots and hits.
- 11:25So I still think he's a solid second round.
- 11:26Pick you want sarokin or saros here.
- 11:30I'd probably go Sorokin. Yeah, I think both teams are
- 11:33garbage. I do think that Sorokin is
- 11:36probably the better goalie. So I.
- 11:37Think in his way. I think I go Saros, really,
- 11:40Yeah. And I think it's mostly because
- 11:42I've known Saros is going to get the bulk of the starts.
- 11:46I was thinking starts from broken frames still.
- 11:48Injured, yeah, Varlamov still injured, but it's mostly I think
- 11:51he'll get more saves. You think Sarah, because he's
- 11:53gonna get more shots? Yeah, and also I'd probably been
- 11:55on Natural to get more wins than the Islanders if I'm being real.
- 11:59I don't know. I think it's a great you're
- 12:01because I think in similar situations, don't think choosing
- 12:04one over the other is gonna help you out that much.
- 12:06I don't really want. Either.
- 12:08Yeah, they're gonna go well. We just both have the big names.
- 12:11What about Stamkos is a bounce back candidate?
- 12:12No, I have 0 interest. In Really.
- 12:15He's 35, he's cooked. That's it.
- 12:17I mean, I think he could put up some points like more than he
- 12:19did. Last fall off last year was
- 12:21immense. It was.
- 12:21Like he does anything for back cats and I don't think the
- 12:25points regression is gonna be big enough to make him worth
- 12:28taking. Honestly, there's I don't even
- 12:29think there's a place that he drops right.
- 12:31We have why would take. Him.
- 12:32Has there been a player that has been like so fantasy relevant
- 12:35one season and their value just completely drops?
- 12:37Off Jonathan Hoover down. There, that's they're the same,
- 12:41yeah. And look, every year people take
- 12:43Hooper dough and he just never bounced back.
- 12:44Who you taking first, rubber door Stamkos?
- 12:46I mean, I'm not taking either, but I'd probably take Hooper to
- 12:48overstamp. Goes Really.
- 12:49Yeah, I think I'd go Stamkos. Yeah, I think the Calgary is a
- 12:54better team than Nashville and they at least have some young
- 12:57guys who could take a step forward this year.
- 12:58I don't see anyone on Nashville's taking a big step.
- 13:01Forward probably only because it's like a little bit more
- 13:04proven that Hooper does. Still not that guy.
- 13:06And while I don't believe in the success.
- 13:08Was more recent. Yeah, I don't believe in the
- 13:10bounce back for example 0, but it's still higher chance that I
- 13:15mean. At cost, I think the lottery
- 13:17picked Stamkos can do something. Relevant.
- 13:19No, I know I'm going to Uber though.
- 13:21It cost Uber over, sure. I'd honestly take the Huber.
- 13:24'S gonna get drafted. Drafted higher than.
- 13:26You think it will be a top ten round pick?
- 13:29Like around 10 something like. That yeah, there's like 14.
- 13:31Yeah, I'd rather have. Like I would actually take
- 13:35Marcel on my team. It's the most confusing logo in
- 13:40the NHL for a time being all. Right, we have #6.
- 13:46At number six, we have the Utah, I mean the Utah mammoth.
- 13:51Oh, you mean? The Utah exactly.
- 13:53Last year they ranked number six.
- 13:55So far we're not doing too good from deviating.
- 13:57From last. Obviously, but here Jake and
- 13:59Kevin both have them at number six, I have them at #5.
- 14:02Whoa, Homer. Here we go.
- 14:05I mean, I have been to Utah, so I guess I'll take it.
- 14:08But yeah, notable players, Clayton Keller, Dylan Guenther,
- 14:11Michael Sergachev, J Piturca, Nick Schmaltz, Logan Cooley,
- 14:14Carella Melka last year, they're powerfully ranked #10 in the
- 14:18league. How do you see these notable
- 14:19players in this power play ranking and don't think they
- 14:21take a step up from last year? I think, I think this whole team
- 14:25took a. Step step up from last week,
- 14:26They still can't budget one spot in the rankings.
- 14:28I mean things that teams ahead of them are really good.
- 14:31I don't know, I'm feeling pretty confident in my in this one.
- 14:34I wouldn't be shocked if they finished fifth.
- 14:36It's just about who you put at six because that's a big deal.
- 14:38Yeah. What about them versus Columbus?
- 14:40That's. Your conversation.
- 14:44They were in a different division.
- 14:45I'd really like them. I think they're a great team.
- 14:48But then when we have 5 through 1 here, no, I just don't see
- 14:51them cracking that I don't believe.
- 14:53I think they're gonna be past this number 5 team, I think.
- 14:56That'll be my unless well, if talk about it after, but at the
- 15:00end of the day, it's just a very.
- 15:02Just look at the yeah, look at this team full of incredible
- 15:05players who all took a step last year and are gonna take another
- 15:08step this year. They got J Patrick as well to
- 15:10add to that firepower. I just don't see how they can't.
- 15:14There was a lot of negatives, like a triple negative, but so
- 15:17therefore I see how I don't know too much math for me at this
- 15:20point, but they're gonna, they're gonna be better.
- 15:22And there's no way in my mind that they don't at least bump
- 15:25one spot off. Yeah I really like these top 2
- 15:27lines. Not so high on hate and you just
- 15:29never really gone. That offensive part of his
- 15:31getting throw him in the notable.
- 15:32Place. Yes.
- 15:33I'm off it now. Last year, I thought.
- 15:35You were all of them. I mean, you started off the
- 15:37season super hot and then he got kind of outclassed.
- 15:40He got injured and then he got bumped in the depth and now he's
- 15:44just kind of cooked. There's just better centres.
- 15:46Available for sure, for sure. But that's a pretty good team.
- 15:49Where's your 3? Right.
- 15:50Yeah, yeah. But I was going to say the big
- 15:53question with with the Utah is how their P1 is going to shake
- 15:56out. Because if we go through the
- 15:58staples, it's Keller, Gunter, Sergachev.
- 16:01Yeah, those are the three guarantees, 3 first names.
- 16:03There 2 see. I mean, it's small.
- 16:07No, that's why we were saying how like, hey, Hayden's the
- 16:10third. I was thinking Cooley and
- 16:11Schmaltz. Wanted OK, schmaltz.
- 16:13Don't think Schmaltz will play centre.
- 16:15Probably, probably 2. 03 is gonna be McBain.
- 16:18They like him. That's true, yeah.
- 16:19Which is good though, right? I mean, if you're centering
- 16:21schmaltz and PECO, that's pretty elite, yeah.
- 16:23Yeah, I mean, Schmaltz is 29 and we see he's kind of like 1
- 16:28dimensional, but he's like a good NHL guy that yeah, can get
- 16:30points, you know? Sure, Yeah.
- 16:32I think the biggest question is Logan Cooley if he can get on P1
- 16:35or not. Yeah, so the two remaining power
- 16:37play spots are gonna be divided between Peterka, Schmaltz and
- 16:39Cooley. Two of those three guys are
- 16:41going to get it. I don't see how Peterka doesn't
- 16:43get it when they just traded and signed.
- 16:45Into that should be cool. That's what that's what it
- 16:48should. That's what it should be.
- 16:49But they might like Schmaltz is veteran presence.
- 16:51Exactly. And I mean he has good, he has
- 16:53good chemistry with Keller, so it'll be interesting to see if
- 16:58Cooley can crack that power Play 1 would be much higher on him
- 17:01then if he doesn't so. He's a sick.
- 17:03He's a sick player. He is, honestly.
- 17:05We have like stretches of like elite fantasy value.
- 17:08Last he was on our cell highs for for a while obviously like.
- 17:10Still happy that we took slash over him, but like, sometimes
- 17:14you watch some of his highlights.
- 17:15Yeah, man, that's a really good. Player and we did need a 2C, but
- 17:18yeah. Yeah, I feel like Cooley's can
- 17:22be a Jack Hughes type player. That's obviously a big jump that
- 17:26he has to take. I don't know if that I see that
- 17:29but. It's they, they were similar.
- 17:31I I think hers is a bit more of a of an elite prospect.
- 17:34But if you look, I mean, he's on a really great trajectory
- 17:38equally. And if he there's a world in
- 17:41which he really becomes the guy on this team.
- 17:43And then if that happens, yeah. But also like the superstar,
- 17:47like he could be that good. I feel like he has a skill on
- 17:50offensive skill set that doesn't have happy we took slap as you
- 17:55mentioned. There's just something about the
- 17:57way he plays that if you can, going to get it together in an
- 17:59NHL level, Sky feels like the limit.
- 18:01For him, and it seems like he already was last year he took.
- 18:03A Yeah. Yeah, yeah, Kevin said.
- 18:05He had some stretches of like truly elite play and that's why
- 18:07he was on. Ourselves.
- 18:08We. Didn't feel he couldn't, he was
- 18:09too young. Maintain it for the whole.
- 18:11Season 65 and 75 was great. That's unreal to really good.
- 18:14Was that a second year in the? League and he's getting drafted
- 18:16a lot later than you would expect in your in your leagues
- 18:19because I think people are just worried about, you know, the
- 18:21deployment on the power play. Yeah.
- 18:22Yeah, this is one of those guys that I think can be a point per
- 18:26game plus player this year and then no one would think going to
- 18:29get there. I I could.
- 18:30See that would rather have Logan Cooley or Connor Bedard.
- 18:33Colour. Guard.
- 18:34Oh, there. You go.
- 18:36I would take really just because it's a better surrounding cast.
- 18:38You know, if you had yeah, anyone of these 4/4 wingers
- 18:42instead of you know what I mean? Like.
- 18:47Doesn't have the guaranteed power play 1 I think that's.
- 18:49That's that's fair. But in my head, there's just no
- 18:51way that he's clearly the best player on the team.
- 18:53Yeah, why would he not be on P1? It makes no sense.
- 18:55Most likely he will be, but it's just not a guarantee and if it
- 18:58doesn't work out, I think he's the first one getting bumped off
- 19:01in terms of like for small, let's say they do start with him
- 19:03and probably is not working out. Yeah, I think their power play
- 19:06could improve this year. Last year they finished 10th.
- 19:07I could see them finishing within the top ten.
- 19:09That's how big I am and Familja is probably my top goalie target
- 19:14in the late rounds. As in like MY0G strategy.
- 19:17I especially with the news of Connor Ingram being waived,
- 19:21there's really no competition. The coach said they're happy
- 19:24with Pamela and Vanicek because they're in tandem, but it's
- 19:26obviously not a tandem. That's A and.
- 19:30To another guy. Yeah, exactly.
- 19:32Yeah, just one and two so so I love him like a for volume they.
- 19:36Showed he's actually a good. Goal.
- 19:37He's actually a good goalie and now finally, the team in front
- 19:39of him is also good. I like him a lot.
- 19:41I don't think I'm gonna get him because I'm really gonna try and
- 19:44get it at the last possible moment and.
- 19:46I think we're going to split between me is going to be like
- 19:48mountain America, but yeah, have one of each on each of our.
- 19:54Teams, yeah, I could see that. So.
- 19:57So yeah, I'm very high on all these guys.
- 19:58I think they're great for fantasy and I think they're
- 20:00going to be great in real life. For defenseman, I mean,
- 20:03Sergachev is obviously a clearer guy.
- 20:04Do you think he's a top hovering around top 10 defenseman or more
- 20:08like top 15? Top 15?
- 20:11Crack our top 10. This should be rostered too.
- 20:15I don't think. So The thing is there is he, he
- 20:17used to be valuable because he was, you know, P1 on his team.
- 20:20Yeah, and he would blocked also. Yeah, and he blocked also, and
- 20:23he's actually really insane blocking.
- 20:25Like he'll have games where he'll go just nuts.
- 20:27He'll be a guy that you stream if you need blocks exactly of
- 20:30getting some points. As long as circuit chip is
- 20:32healthy, I don't see him being worth rostering long term.
- 20:34Though, but that's like the second defence when I would
- 20:36consider on that. Team for sure.
- 20:38There's the guy to come in. If they're splitting like there
- 20:41are people on P2 like Logan Cooley ends up on PB2 the like a
- 20:45Lawson Krause and or a Peterka or something like.
- 20:48I'm still I still. I don't think that happens.
- 20:50I mean they're. Probably.
- 20:51Would you rather have their zero like I'm talking about?
- 20:52Like that puts him in the conversation of like, there's
- 20:55the Dobson. Dobson Honestly, we've talked
- 20:59about this with the defenseman episode.
- 21:01I don't like taking any defence when is not power play one or a
- 21:03pure banger. So that's that's kind of my
- 21:06opinion on those middle of the pack power play two guys.
- 21:10All right, this is, I cannot believe we're about to do this,
- 21:14but. #5 at #5 We have the Minnesota Wild last year they
- 21:21finished fourth. Kevin has them ranked at #3,
- 21:24Jake has them ranked at #4, and Josh slash me has them ranked at
- 21:29#6. 6 Josh. 6 Notable Powers Acrylic Kaprizov For now Matt
- 21:36Boldy, Joel Ericsson Ek Philip Gustafson, Matt Zuccarello,
- 21:39Marco Rossi, Brock Faber, Zief William.
- 21:41Last year, their power play ranked 20th, but it definitely
- 21:44didn't help that Caprice and Eric were injured most of the
- 21:47year. Yeah, why did I put them at?
- 21:496:00 And also this was this was before we heard any of the
- 21:52Kaprizov news, correct? Yeah, I want, I want to try and
- 21:55bank on the fact that that I knew that actually had my inside
- 21:58sources tell. Yeah, no, obviously the team's
- 22:01kinda crazy cuz they should be on the up and up and getting
- 22:04better. They have a lot of great
- 22:06players, but I think they definitely don't belong higher
- 22:10than the top four that we have coming up.
- 22:13And then I'm just really high on Utah.
- 22:15I had to put someone to drop, but no one below Utah because I
- 22:17do think they're taking a big step.
- 22:18I think Utah is improvement over the past offseason is a lot
- 22:21higher than Minnesota. I don't think Minnesota actually
- 22:23did anything much to improve this.
- 22:25Offseason. I mean, they got Tarasenko.
- 22:27Yeah, it definitely bolsters your middle 6.
- 22:31I don't know. I don't think that moves the
- 22:32needle. So yeah, I think now you add on
- 22:36all the capris off stuff, I think that makes it a bit even
- 22:38more credible. But let's say ignoring that
- 22:40because we did the rankings before that, I just needed
- 22:42someone to bump down for Utah. I like Utah better than
- 22:44Minnesota this year. Called the Minnesota Mild for a
- 22:47reason. They were 4th last year and
- 22:49Caprisa played half the season and Erickson Eck was out most of
- 22:52the season. So how did they go from being
- 22:554th last year to now having those guys healthy, adding
- 22:58pieces, adding a potential actual power play quarterback,
- 23:02and then falling 2 spots down in the rankings?
- 23:06I mean, Boym is a rookie. So.
- 23:09But at worst, it's what they had last season.
- 23:12Yeah, at worst what they had last season.
- 23:13Last season the ranked 20th in the power play.
- 23:15Yeah, Capris, I missed half the season.
- 23:16Yeah. Take off the best player on most
- 23:18power plays. We're gonna stumble.
- 23:22I don't know, I'm just not sold on them.
- 23:24I think they have some good pieces, obviously pizzas in
- 23:26superstar baldies great and Gustafson is a really solid
- 23:30goalie and Erickson next solid for fantasy and just like but
- 23:33he's more of a 2. See, I'm not buying Marco Rossi
- 23:35as A1C. So I don't think they have a
- 23:38true 1C. I think their defence core is
- 23:40pretty weak. It's a bunch of old guys and
- 23:42then Brock Faber and then William who's super young.
- 23:45So I don't think it's that good of a team.
- 23:46I think it's very fantasy relevant team but in real life I
- 23:49don't see them being good enough to beat the other 5.
- 23:53It's not crazy, but like the loads that we put them in five
- 23:56so it's but listen, anything can happen.
- 23:58I just. After Utah will take them I.
- 24:00Like Utah a lot better than Minnesota.
- 24:03I I don't think it's such a crazy take, but and remember
- 24:08this when you, when you RIP all my yesterday, I heard it later
- 24:12on how nice it was. But the truth is that
- 24:15Minnesota's one of those teams that on paper, with all the
- 24:20disadvantages that Kevin mentioned from last year, now
- 24:23they just theoretically would have gotten better.
- 24:26Now I've fallen into this trap with Nashville right from two
- 24:30years. Ago added like 4 free agents and
- 24:32tried to make it. Work, but they added, you know,
- 24:35they added the other guys. Here versus last year.
- 24:38But Utah get better by a bigger margin, so therefore they
- 24:41overpass them. It's about how much better you
- 24:43got, not just the fact you got better.
- 24:45Yeah, it's an arms race. If you're getting a little
- 24:47better and every other team in your division gets a lot better,
- 24:49then you're still dropping down. The road just think they have
- 24:52their power play will be top 15 this year.
- 24:55I bet my house on it, barring any crazy injuries and if
- 25:00Caprice. Gonna be in the top 10.
- 25:03Fair, but they're probably in the top ten last year and.
- 25:06They toss a bunch of guys who came off there like sophomore
- 25:10year last year who are gonna have a huge step this year.
- 25:12Hmm, who does Minnesota have? Who's gonna be better this year
- 25:14than last year, other than guys who were injured and going to be
- 25:16healthy? I mean, Capris will be better
- 25:18this year. I mean, he's already a little
- 25:20this year. I know they're they're still
- 25:22getting. Better the PowerPoint one
- 25:23quarterback, whoever. It is.
- 25:24I think Rossi will be better this year.
- 25:27I'm That's not as exciting as a Guenther Cooley getting better
- 25:30this year or acquiring a Peterka.
- 25:32No, that's. Yeah, but those will get better
- 25:35to get better and still not be as good as.
- 25:40I take Guenther close to Boldy. I mean, we're talking fancy,
- 25:44we're talking actual show. Both.
- 25:47That there's nobody. There's nobody you talk that
- 25:49comes close to preserve. No, OK Kaprizov isn't a league
- 25:52of his own, I'll agree with that.
- 25:53I think Keller is better than Boldy.
- 25:56Yes, fair. I think.
- 25:58That I put Keller compared to Kaprizov and I think I'd take
- 26:01boldly over Gunther. I don't know about that.
- 26:03I think there's gonna surprise you.
- 26:05I think a lot of people are really high on him.
- 26:08Also I take Michael. Circuit.
- 26:09I'm not saying I don't like going.
- 26:10Through I'll take circuit Chef way over any power play on
- 26:12quarterback. Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:15I don't know. I think it's.
- 26:16I guess if I'm breaking down, I just think that maybe their
- 26:19depth is a little bit better on Winnipeg, sorry on on Minnesota
- 26:23and you know, their 4th lines pretty good.
- 26:26Marcus filling on Nico Strum and.
- 26:27I like their fourth line. Their third line is.
- 26:29Their third line is man, but this guy is not supposed to be
- 26:31that bad. You're off.
- 26:32And realistically, if they end up shuffling the lines, you're
- 26:35off. Plays the first line, Ericsson
- 26:37plays third. That's a very balanced team and.
- 26:40I think it's going to be interesting to.
- 26:42See, I don't see how they put Ericson's on the top of the
- 26:44third line. So many times in his.
- 26:46Career. No, he's not.
- 26:46He's gonna be top six. They don't have good enough
- 26:48centres to. Well, maybe this year old guy
- 26:51can actually be pretty decent. Like I mean, he could be decent.
- 26:54He's not gonna jump from the top 6 this year.
- 26:57'S or or. Even they're just hoping is
- 26:59better than Marco Rossi if I'm being honest.
- 27:01But anyways I will see. I think this is one of my I
- 27:04don't I very often do these spicy takes, but this one I'm
- 27:08not to. Listen, I don't hate it.
- 27:09The more I look at it, the more I'm like I see your point of
- 27:12view. Also even convinced me.
- 27:15They look. Good.
- 27:16Alright. So they definitely do look good.
- 27:18I'm really high on Utah. Yeah, I still.
- 27:20Just only have two games in the finals, doesn't that?
- 27:23Suck. That's.
- 27:24So I would be taking so many of these guys if.
- 27:26They wasn't gonna draft any of them.
- 27:28I could still take the milk, I guess.
- 27:30Two games by goalie is kind of an average week anyways, but
- 27:34yeah. They're punting saves.
- 27:35It definitely sucks for Mike because I'm so high.
- 27:37On that last thing probably for them is like we haven't touched
- 27:41on Zuccarello or Tarasenko like any value there.
- 27:44Like one of those guys, he's old, but I feel he's one of
- 27:47those guys that, you know, gets severely under drafted every
- 27:50year and then performance better.
- 27:52Then he got shot in the balls. Yeah, whole Lance Armstrong.
- 27:57Yeah, so now definitely 00 interest in Tarasenko could not
- 28:01be less interested. He wasn't good on Ottawa's not
- 28:04gonna he's he's cooked and Zuccarello I'm not interested in
- 28:07either. I think he's finally hit that
- 28:09peak of too old. I think I would be surprised if
- 28:12Caprice of and boldly end up on a line together in the second
- 28:14sequel is not playing with Kaprizov.
- 28:16He's cooked as well. I want to give you something for
- 28:19zuccarello if that's OK with. You.
- 28:21I think I'll allow it, but let's say, well, just a couple, yeah.
- 28:24OK, just let me let me give you like 2 names.
- 28:27I like Zuccarello or Morgan Geeky.
- 28:31Geeky. OK, Zuccarello or Brock Besser.
- 28:36Besser, the Brusque. Zook.
- 28:41Crider. Crowder.
- 28:43Yeah, same as shaky Zoo Cryder. Alright, Donato.
- 28:46Donato. Sorry that that.
- 28:49Yeah, the next one. Yeah, alright #4.
- 28:54That was lame. #4. Yeah, at #4 we've got the Saint
- 29:00Louis Blues. Last year they were #5 This year
- 29:04Kevin has them ranked #5 Josh has them ranked at #4 Jakey has
- 29:08them ranked #2 Notable players Robert Thomas, Jordan KAIRU, my
- 29:13boy Dylan Holloway, Jordan Binnington, Colton Parayko,
- 29:17Powell Buchnevich, Jake. Neighbors, Jimmy Snuggerud, Cam
- 29:20Fowler. Last year their power play was
- 29:22ranked #16 jakey #2, really. Explain yourself.
- 29:29Well, Montgomery didn't start the season with him last year,
- 29:33right? Cheeky love came over mid year
- 29:36and he brought the best out of these players then now he.
- 29:39Has I've heard this, Jim Montgomery can do a lot of
- 29:41things physically. Physically.
- 29:44The way his body, yeah. Lower the drink, he's gotta
- 29:48crush. Yeah, alright, you could
- 29:49continue. The Dustin Wolf of coaches.
- 29:51I'll try not to laugh while saying that.
- 29:53Yeah. My goodness.
- 29:54OK, So this is just a loaded team.
- 29:58I don't see where their weakness really is.
- 30:00They've got a very good Decor, A goalie who is volatile yet good
- 30:05solid backup to offers, had really good stretches and on top
- 30:09of that, they have three very, very good lines.
- 30:13Yes, I see. I mean.
- 30:16And potential caller candidate. Yeah, there's 8-4 words that I
- 30:21would want on my that I'd be content with having on my
- 30:23fantasy team, which translates to IRL because I think they're
- 30:26all good. And there's also. 6.
- 30:29The whole first line. Snuggerud, Thomas.
- 30:31Buchnevich. OK.
- 30:32Holloway. Shen, Cairo.
- 30:34Oh yeah, I didn't mention. Shelby with all those guys and
- 30:36then neighbors, OK, even Pewter, you see her.
- 30:45Yeah. And this is like a good IRL
- 30:47fourth line, actually a very good IRL fourth line, coupled
- 30:50with the fact that he's just such a good coach, as Kevin
- 30:53said, he could do cool his body. I don't know which part I have
- 30:58to bleep, but I think I have to bleep a.
- 31:00Lot Anyways she could say this simply cannot go in.
- 31:06I'm just very high on this team. I think they're going to be
- 31:08super good and I have them over a few other teams, which I I
- 31:13know is going to be controversial.
- 31:14Yeah, that too, yes. I'm more like them too.
- 31:18I'm curious, I guess force fair, Kevin, you have them at 5:00 and
- 31:23you have. I think has Minnesota above.
- 31:26Them Minnesota above them. That's interesting.
- 31:28Do you stand by that? It's definitely close.
- 31:32The issue with me is I think that how the Saint Louis Blues
- 31:38ended the season last year is not going to be reflective of
- 31:40how they're going to be the whole season this year,
- 31:42obviously. It was a super hot.
- 31:44Streak it was, it was insanely hot.
- 31:46That's why. So I'm a little worried about
- 31:48not only the fantasy assets on this team, but more so I just
- 31:53don't know where the actual value is.
- 31:57It's probably not at the height of what we saw them do at the
- 31:59end of last year. It's probably not as bad as we
- 32:00saw them before they sacked the coach.
- 32:03So I think they're gonna be a solid team.
- 32:07I think they they're missing like super top end talent that
- 32:12other teams have superstars. Like, there's nobody on this
- 32:14team that's as good as Kyle Connor or Kaprizov or, you know.
- 32:20You really don't think Robert Thomas is in the Kyle Connor
- 32:23conversation? No, I don't think so as a
- 32:25player. Not for fantasy, necessarily.
- 32:27Because you're like such a Thomas Truther.
- 32:29Yeah, definitely a Thomas Truther.
- 32:31I'm not. Well, just just think about it,
- 32:34right? I mean, he's a good, he's a good
- 32:36actual player and he gets within 10 to like 12 points of Kyle.
- 32:40Connor before last year I would say yes, but Connor popped off
- 32:43last year, so that's what kind of makes me think not few Thomas
- 32:47in the. Same.
- 32:47Let's also not forget that this is the same players that were on
- 32:50the team last year when they were awful.
- 32:52Yeah. Like, obviously coaching is is
- 32:54huge and changing the complete trajectory of this team managed
- 32:57to get the best out of like Dylan Holloway and and and these
- 33:00other forwards. But I can see how, you know,
- 33:04they fall back to closer to what they were initially.
- 33:06I'm not saying that's what's going to happen.
- 33:08Yeah, of course, but. Honestly the way I see it and
- 33:11Jake is too high and you're too low and mines perfect.
- 33:15Yeah. And I and then their decor is
- 33:17really good. Yeah, it's a really, really
- 33:19solid defensive core. I wonder what?
- 33:20My, but it's not flashy. It's not.
- 33:21Flashy at all? The whole team is not flashy
- 33:24like they're. Pairing I feel like it could be
- 33:26a detriment to our team, if I'm being honest.
- 33:28My you and Tucker like that could be a lineup that a line
- 33:34that gets exposed. Cam Fowler is 33, and he's feels
- 33:38like very more offensive than defenseman than defensive.
- 33:41I really like Draco. Perico's great.
- 33:43Like he's a Team Canada defenseman.
- 33:45Yeah, he's a lot older than I expected, though.
- 33:47Yeah, he's 32 years old. I thought it was more like, you
- 33:51know, 27 or 28. Justin Faulk is on his last
- 33:54legs. It feels like every year we're
- 33:56kind of like, OK, is this? He still managed to find power
- 33:59play 1 somewhere. So like, yeah, the the they have
- 34:03a good balance of like young and and veteran.
- 34:07I like Broberg, but. Yeah, I I think, I think 4 is a
- 34:11good spot for them. I think 4 is a good spot.
- 34:13I just feel like, you know to me in Minnesota has more firepower
- 34:16and top end talent to get those extra points.
- 34:21But listen, would I be shocked if Saint Louis finishes 4th?
- 34:23I would not. Would you be shocked if they
- 34:25finished two? I would be shocked if they
- 34:27finished two. I would not bet my house on
- 34:29that. Yeah, I would be a gape.
- 34:33I just I'd be. Like.
- 34:38That's my bad, I think. I think between two or three it
- 34:44was a really close call for me. Really.
- 34:46Yeah, that's crazy. But yeah.
- 34:48Who do you want on your team from the Saint Louis team cause
- 34:50I feel like a lot of fantasy relevant guys, Jake said.
- 34:52Obviously 7 names together you want the most.
- 34:54Josh, I already know is your boy.
- 34:56Yeah, Halloween is my favorite. Obviously Thomas, I would take
- 34:59higher than Holloway, but I'm more excited about Holloway.
- 35:02Cairo I think is always solid. Buchnevich in where you got him
- 35:07last year on like around 12:13 as a guy who's gonna be points
- 35:09and no back cats. Bennington as a late goalie
- 35:13who's the starter on a solid team.
- 35:15I was actually impressed with Rico last year as a Rangers
- 35:17defenseman. I don't think he's going to
- 35:19sniff a power play time as much as he did last year, but there
- 35:22were a lot of injuries on defence.
- 35:23But I like him a lot for hits and blocks and even his shots.
- 35:26And then snuggle. It's kind of a wild card and I
- 35:28think I like that as a dart throw later on and neighbors.
- 35:30I've always liked his his back cats.
- 35:32So yeah. And Shen, like Jackie mentioned,
- 35:36my only thing was she is. I feel like he's just getting
- 35:37older every year. I mean, so we're all we all are,
- 35:39but. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:41Thinking of America? Clinton but fair.
- 35:45I think he's a better goalie, but I just think that Saint
- 35:47Louis is better. Also Suitors was really solid
- 35:50last year. Yep, Suitor was very good I.
- 35:52Mean he got put into positions to, you know, have a lot of ice
- 35:55time and he and he succeeded with that, yeah.
- 35:57I just don't see him getting the ice time on Saint Louis that he
- 35:59got on Vancouver. It's very unlikely although.
- 36:04I don't mean he's gonna be 3C. I don't know, Shannon isn't
- 36:06necessarily gonna stay to see they may joke a.
- 36:08Lot. I'd be surprised since still the
- 36:10captain. Yeah, yeah, I can see him.
- 36:12He's like the prototypical 3C on the team right now with his
- 36:16archetype of player. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:18Would you rather have Jordan Kairu or Curl Marchenko?
- 36:24Marchenko. Marchenko, I think, has the
- 36:26upside. Kyle's the safer floor.
- 36:27Kyra will get more shots, yeah. Marchenko was shooting a lot
- 36:31towards the like later in the season so his season average
- 36:34doesn't look as exciting but I think he's he's 3 plus shots.
- 36:37He can match cardio and shots. Kara Michkov.
- 36:40Musgrove. It's tough because you're naming
- 36:43guys who are like lower floor but higher ceiling, and I like
- 36:46going for the. Ceiling.
- 36:46You know, I just think that this team is going to be above
- 36:50averaging goals, above averaging goals against and because of
- 36:53that it's just gonna create a lot of wins for them.
- 36:55But the reason I would take Michael or the reason I would
- 36:56take Marchenko is because I think those teams are gonna
- 36:58score more. They're always going to let in
- 37:00more goals, you know what I mean?
- 37:01So they're gonna have to score to shutdown team, which. 1.
- 37:04Person that's close to me, yeah, probably.
- 37:08I got the backwards too. OK, let's go to the next one.
- 37:11But as a team, I'm very high on Saint Louis.
- 37:14All right #3. #3 We've got the Colorado Avalanche last year,
- 37:19they ranked #3 Josh and Jake have them ranked #3 but Kevin
- 37:25has them ranked #4 want, want. I love me some Nate Dogg.
- 37:28Yeah, some notable players you may have heard of.
- 37:31Nathan McKinnon, Michael McCarthy, Mackenzie Blackwood,
- 37:33Marty Naches, Val Nichushkin, Gabe Landeskog, Brock Nelson
- 37:37last year. Their power, they ranked #8 in
- 37:39the league. These are just some absolute
- 37:41bangers of a notable players list, how could you possibly
- 37:44drop them down to #4? I mean, we saw them kind of.
- 37:48We saw the the kinks in the armor last.
- 37:49You put Minnesota above Colorado?
- 37:52Yes, that's crazy. Alright, listen, Minnesota's
- 37:55been on the up and up, you guys, You guys are forgetting how good
- 37:58Minnesota was as a team. But I think Colorado, we've
- 38:01seen, you know, they're vulnerable side lately.
- 38:04He got paid by Big Romaine. Well, it seems like.
- 38:11I, I, I like this Avalanche team, obviously, like I, I think
- 38:15they have a lot of good players. I think obviously the step down
- 38:18from Renton into Nahs is worth worth mentioning in terms of
- 38:21like getting the best out of McKinnon, but he's top tier
- 38:23study either way. Are we?
- 38:28Talking about you dare talk about about nature.
- 38:34And I mean, there's always the health concerns with the
- 38:36Trushkin, like, can you stay healthy?
- 38:38Can you stay on the ice, first of all, Yeah.
- 38:41Or if you like a little bit of that sniffy sniff sniff.
- 38:46Nelson is a 2C actually like but is still a question, right?
- 38:50Like he's old Landis cog. What are we going to get out of
- 38:53Landis? Cog, that's going to be an
- 38:54interesting one. That's a lot of interesting guys
- 38:56on here. I forgot to mention like an in
- 38:59as well. And I'm just going to say
- 39:01they're decor. Besides, that first pairing is
- 39:04definitely up for debate. Like.
- 39:07A car tape which obviously elite.
- 39:09Elite tandem in the whole league, but then after that you
- 39:11got Middleton and Josh Manson, Malinsky and Brent Burns.
- 39:14I don't think that this is like the main Middleton.
- 39:17No, this is Keaton Middleton. Not even, not even a good one.
- 39:20Yeah, no, I think you meant. To put.
- 39:22Gerard, what's the Jonah Hill movie where it's like the girls
- 39:28like near OHS, I forget which one.
- 39:30Anyways, she's like, oh, you look like Dennis Quaid.
- 39:32It's like Randy Quaid. Maybe you know that.
- 39:35It's a 21 jump. Street, that's what it is.
- 39:40Gerard Gerard is gonna miss most of the training camp and he
- 39:43like, should be ready for the start of the season, so I guess.
- 39:45You heard? That well, the Roger.
- 39:46Brother be missing, might be missing some of training camp.
- 39:50I did. For goalie, how much do you read
- 39:52into that? I mean, I already wasn't gonna
- 39:54take him cause he's gonna get taken so high so it.
- 39:56Doesn't. Maybe if we go into the draft
- 39:58and he has a little questionable time next to him like his name
- 40:00might he? He might fall.
- 40:01Yeah, he could definitely fall. If he falls out, I'd snap.
- 40:04Him it's a lower body injury like those things kind of linger
- 40:07depending what it. Is a history of injuries.
- 40:09We talked about what stopped him from being such a goal in the
- 40:11past. Do you pick up a Wedgewood like
- 40:13at the end of the? Draft.
- 40:14They literally have a wood port. They also have a guy named Ivan.
- 40:20Ivan, just do it. Because you have to draft Hella
- 40:25Buck in the first round and then Scott Wedgewood with your last
- 40:28pick. So you got you got the upside of
- 40:29both. Little goalie sandwich.
- 40:30Yeah, yeah. I mean, that's such a fun thing
- 40:33to do. Yeah, I wouldn't do it because
- 40:35this is serious business, but it's a fun idea.
- 40:39Yeah. Yeah, I obviously think that
- 40:41this first line is fantastic. Lacking in is gonna be a monster
- 40:45this year just. Being attached to Power Play 1.
- 40:48So I. Get some PowerPoint 1 so.
- 40:54And two of those three are on power play.
- 40:55One one of them is missing out. Obviously McKinnon, Mccarran,
- 40:58NHS are the locks. Yeah, I think, I think nature is
- 41:01McKinnon, Mccarter, the locks, the last three.
- 41:03So then, yeah, like you said, Nichushkin Landeskog, like.
- 41:06Honestly I could see like an end being bumped off.
- 41:09We had the same conversation last year, licking and started
- 41:11on it. Then intuition got phased into
- 41:13it. Yeah.
- 41:15Hot take. I think they're going to put all
- 41:16this in there. Impossible.
- 41:19It's not impossible. That's almost or whatever it
- 41:22was. Possible.
- 41:25You'll see. Why would they put all this in
- 41:27there ahead of? There's no chance.
- 41:29He's a PowerPoint specialist. Since when?
- 41:31It's every team that he was on, like when he was on Buffalo,
- 41:34that's what he did. On Vegas, he did.
- 41:36That so the guy that they signed for one year at 1.5 million,
- 41:39they're gonna put on baby one ahead of ahead of the captain
- 41:43that's coming back. And he'll like it.
- 41:48We'll see. We'll.
- 41:49See, yeah, so anyways, I see, I see the chicken Landeskog, but
- 41:52it's going to be kind of a revolving door, especially
- 41:54because all three of those guys are so injury prone.
- 41:56It'll be whichever ones are healthier on power play 1.
- 41:59And feel like is going to be a value in drafts like he always
- 42:02gets drafted in like the love me some big value the later rounds.
- 42:061520 games, but for the games he's there, he's gonna be.
- 42:08Sick would you take? I'll take care.
- 42:13Like just in the same round. If it's like, would you rather
- 42:17have who's gonna, who's gonna be better for fantasy this season?
- 42:22Overall, Kairu but on average is like a tiny chicken being
- 42:25better. Yeah, but I just think he's
- 42:26gonna play fewer. Games when it comes to it
- 42:28though. It's like no one want Karen
- 42:29there when they're healthy and under team.
- 42:31Who would you rather have? Healthy and on my team, I'll
- 42:33take Nichushkin. Yes, same.
- 42:35But you can't really say that. Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 42:38It's like you need that guy. Goes a couple rounds after Cairo
- 42:42rather taking the chicken in the.
- 42:43Nichushkin or Slough? Slash.
- 42:46Slash, OK and interesting, Barzal.
- 42:49I agree. Oh, that's close.
- 42:52Yeah, disclose. Yeah, that's just gonna deal.
- 42:54Holloway. Holloway.
- 42:55Holloway, baby Holloway. Holloway.
- 42:59Marsha so. This you skin.
- 43:03I will say this is a very top heavy.
- 43:05Team it is. That's what I'm saying.
- 43:06That's why they struggled last year like they they had to claw
- 43:09back into it after they got a goalie because you're just
- 43:11leaking goals, right? So.
- 43:12I mean to be fair though, they finished the season third
- 43:15overall and that's with Georgiev having started the season with
- 43:19them. For 1/3 of the season they had a
- 43:20literal empty net. For third season, they.
- 43:23Still finished third overall, so as long as black would stay
- 43:25healthy. And honestly, Wedgwood is a
- 43:26serviceable backup as well. So yeah, unit Blackwood misses a
- 43:29bit of time here and there. They've got some wood in that,
- 43:32so OK, but. We we we can move on without
- 43:36talking about marine natures because he's the talk of the
- 43:38town. We always mention his name like
- 43:40but we actually what's a realistic outcome from Martin
- 43:43nature? Like where?
- 43:44What do we expect this year? How many points?
- 43:46What I expect from natures is let's say like 90 to 95 points.
- 43:50That's insane. Let's say 2.5 shots and .35
- 43:57power play points. I can't get on board on the 90
- 44:00points 9095. Why?
- 44:02I get he. I think he's easily cracking a
- 44:04point for game. He's playing with McKenna and
- 44:06he's gonna be stable to him. They had such great chemistry.
- 44:0895 is too high for me. I think he can do.
- 44:10OK, but let's say. 99 Is there a higher chance that's nature OK?
- 44:15Is there a higher chance than nature hits 120 points or that
- 44:17all options on this power play 1?
- 44:20120 points. OK, that's what I like.
- 44:23To hear you're going to be defending all of that.
- 44:27Here, when you see all of a sudden on that power play the
- 44:29first day, just remember you. Guys, OK, Can I give you some
- 44:31names then, because natures or Tage Thompson, Natus.
- 44:36I'm going to go to Thompson for the shots.
- 44:38Give me T. Can I just say 11 quick thing on
- 44:40ages before we go to the names? Yeah, the real fear I have with
- 44:42him is that he's too good and going to be separate from
- 44:46McKinnon. I'm not worried about all.
- 44:48This Antonin and Landeskog and him like and McKinnon they had
- 44:53is like a trio that they never separated.
- 44:55Are you saying this is because I'm not saying that?
- 44:57Differences that Landeskog is not what it used to be and
- 45:00they're gonna have to like they just can't.
- 45:02They don't have three players that are that good anymore.
- 45:04I know is there. I think we have enough good
- 45:08players that Nature said McKinnon just had such great
- 45:11chemistry last. Yeah, so it's Noah.
- 45:12He's so if that's the case, then that means that we and I agree
- 45:15that nature is likely sticking with McKinnon all year.
- 45:18You can now go ahead with your, would you?
- 45:19Rather than all of you. If you think nature is getting
- 45:2190 points and you should take him above most of these guys
- 45:24like Natures or Jake Guentzel. Gensel has the has the shots
- 45:30niches I think is gonna get more points.
- 45:32It's my only thing when matches. I don't like his shots.
- 45:34I looked at his historicals and he's never gone above 2.5 shots.
- 45:38So that's pretty much what you can expect from him.
- 45:41So but I would still take it. I think the points upside is
- 45:44there. What about Kempe?
- 45:46Natures, yeah, it's basically. I need to find where the line is
- 45:50for Jake. Yeah, I keep going.
- 45:52It's like the Reinharts, the Kyle Connors of the.
- 45:54World. Really.
- 45:55Them I would take over niches. So you're taking an anxious
- 45:58third round. Yeah, cuz Kyle Connor will get
- 46:0090 points like that. He got 97 last year.
- 46:03Better. Yeah, way better shots.
- 46:05That's why I believe, like I'm saying, those are that's the
- 46:07line. Around what you're saying is the
- 46:08difference between Connor and Natures is like 50 to 70 shots
- 46:13and that's the only thing stopping you from taking him in
- 46:16the second round? No, I'm saying like I take Kyle
- 46:18Connor. Oh yeah, just yeah, I.
- 46:20Understand like then that next. Year, Connor.
- 46:22The second round. Pick.
- 46:23Give me the names around there and I'll tell.
- 46:24You like OK Boldy. Natures.
- 46:27OK. I mean Nielander.
- 46:31They just gonna get more points than body, but it's again, the
- 46:33shots is my one thing. With the number had 84 points
- 46:37last season. Yeah, I'm taking.
- 46:38I think that's that's a perfect line where I really just don't
- 46:42know. But I think I would take
- 46:45Milander just because the ceiling similar and the floor is
- 46:49higher for calendar. And he shoots.
- 46:50More. Yeah, that's where I'm really.
- 46:52Kind and then the second round. Yeah, yeah, you said you take
- 46:55him a third round. Yeah, that's exactly it.
- 46:58Connect early in the third. Round we're connecting.
- 47:00You teenagers over connecting OK.
- 47:03Yeah, this is like a serious, serious potential to be an
- 47:06amazing Forsberg. I would take Forsberg, yeah.
- 47:09There's just too much going on. But in a points league, I would
- 47:12take natures. Yeah, for sure.
- 47:14I feel like that's worth mentioning because I really
- 47:15think natural nature, I think nature is gonna get 100 points
- 47:19this year. My realistic outcome is 90 to be
- 47:22fair, but I really. Then you take him in the second
- 47:25round. That's exactly it.
- 47:26I mean, I feel like that's. Reasonable in a second.
- 47:29I could like. Very likely 4th, 3rd. 4th is
- 47:32possible. I mean if you like him that much
- 47:34I don't know if I would risk it. It depends who you'd have to
- 47:36give. Up, yeah.
- 47:37But you thinking natures are Dylan Holloway because we talked
- 47:40about you taking the hollow in the third.
- 47:42That's a good question. No, I I never saw take hallway
- 47:44that hi, I love Holloway, but I'm not taking him as high as
- 47:46you guys think I am. I like.
- 47:49You lied to us. I never said those words in my
- 47:51mouth. I'm digging niches over Holloway
- 47:53just for the points. And The thing is that like
- 47:56Holloway is not like a massive shooter.
- 47:57What's the shots and hits combo that makes it so good?
- 47:59So it's not like it's really just points versus the hits.
- 48:04And they just are Ovi. OHK.
- 48:07OK, that was a good one. Yeah, basically.
- 48:10Basically the line is knee Lander.
- 48:11That's really where I'm like, I just don't know.
- 48:14You name one person better than Nylander on your list.
- 48:16I just wanna. See one person better than
- 48:17Nylander. Like similar archetype, not like
- 48:20Crosby or anything like that. Or Brayden Point.
- 48:23I would take over point bark, but that's that's a tough one
- 48:27cause that's like a league specific thing with centres.
- 48:29But Barkov I would take over niches.
- 48:31OK, that's that's Barkov. Nielander Niches is like kind.
- 48:35Of that's for. Brat, I would take notes for
- 48:37Brad. Really.
- 48:38Yeah, I'm taking over each. It's the exact same type of
- 48:41player, but I think Brad gets more points and points it's a
- 48:44little. That's like such an exact same
- 48:46archetype. Neither of them shoots much.
- 48:48It's really just about who you think is getting more points.
- 48:50Yeah, I just, I think nature is a dog this year.
- 48:54If you don't just under team, I'm gonna be severely
- 48:56disappointed. Yeah, there's.
- 48:57So am I. That's the point.
- 49:00I mean, we were going to. End up with him like that where
- 49:03you're valuing him, I think. Yeah, I got.
- 49:05Him in the 3rd and it's the. 3rd, the third round, I feel
- 49:09like that's reasonable. I can get him there and I'm
- 49:11happy with it. I really want him.
- 49:13I think he's just going to be a stud.
- 49:15So I think he's gonna be really good too.
- 49:16I don't think it's crazy that that you're taking, I feel
- 49:18almost more of a fourth rounder than 1/3 rounder, but.
- 49:20I think he gets between like 80 and 88 points ish and I think
- 49:26he's gonna hover around two shots A.
- 49:28Game for number 88. Yeah, exactly.
- 49:30And I think maybe 30 of those are on the power play and, and
- 49:35it's good. We all know he's going to be
- 49:37great. The question is just how great
- 49:39and would you take him? And obviously he's the highest
- 49:41of all of us. But I think it's gonna.
- 49:42Be sneaky value. I think he's low key tied to
- 49:46making the whole season. It's just the power play that
- 49:49I'm worried. I think without power play I
- 49:51don't really want him on. My Kevin, do you want to haggle
- 49:53or niches? I asked him that.
- 49:55Hagel. Like fully like fully haggle.
- 49:58Wow. Hagel will most likely be my
- 50:00third round pick. Hagel third round damage in the
- 50:034th. Yeah.
- 50:05See, on paper that feels like more of a reach because power
- 50:08play one last year, but it it's not because he will have it this
- 50:11year and it could be an amazing. Yeah, these are two guys.
- 50:15Their injuries so his only competition for people.
- 50:17What is gone? Exactly.
- 50:19We gotta move on to the next year, but this is just such a
- 50:22sick fantasy team. Yeah, very.
- 50:24Excited about it. I mean I might end up with my
- 50:25cars. My first pick would be
- 50:27interesting for sure. There will be interesting all
- 50:29right #2. And #2 we've got the Winnipeg
- 50:32Jets, last year they ranked number one.
- 50:35Josh and Kevin have them ranked #2 Jakey has them ranked at #5
- 50:41is. Out of all the rankings that
- 50:44we've ragged on Jakey for, this is the most egregious.
- 50:47One, is it more egregious than Saint Louis had?
- 50:48Two, Yes. OK, Yeah.
- 50:50I'll go through the notable players and then I'll roast
- 50:52Jakey. So notable players, Connor
- 50:54Hellebuyck, Kyle Connor, Mark Shifley, the GOAT, Gabe Vilardi,
- 50:58Josh Morrissey, Cole Perfetti. NHL power play ranking from last
- 51:01year one #5 You couldn't just drop them like to #3 You know,
- 51:08that would be like, OK, fine #50. 4 I'm like oh.
- 51:11Yeah, you have to go 55, probably not making the.
- 51:14Playoffs. Yeah.
- 51:15So, OK, fair. I mean, I know that that sounds
- 51:19crazy, but let's be honest. They won the Presidents Trophy
- 51:21last year. Yeah, I know.
- 51:22And. This is the best goal in the.
- 51:25League they're that's exactly what I was going to say.
- 51:27Their success is extremely contingent.
- 51:30Yeah, yeah, no. So their success is extremely
- 51:36dependent on Hellebusch. They had the best PowerPoint
- 51:39league. And they, well, they got rid of
- 51:42Ellers, which is a part of it. I mean, he was good, right?
- 51:46And there's also the fact that now they're second line centre
- 51:50is Jonathan Tays, who hasn't played hockey in five years.
- 51:52That's the only question mark obviously, which I would
- 51:54understand bumping them down to three or.
- 51:56Four. Yeah.
- 51:57And you know, last year did they have someone decent centre?
- 52:02I think it was Vilardi, sometimes he played there.
- 52:04No, he was on that line 1. Week I don't even know who their
- 52:07centre was, but I just like to me that this.
- 52:09Yeah, it was. It was that line of No.
- 52:11It was that line of Perfetti. Who was it?
- 52:15It was Perfetti. Was it pretty?
- 52:17Neither writer Lowry. Was that the line?
- 52:19Line 2. Yeah, Freddie and healers were
- 52:21line 2. Yeah, so maybe, maybe Lowry ends
- 52:23up there again, who knows, But it's just this team is clearly a
- 52:28team that can do wonders on the power play and that has an
- 52:31amazing goalie that is the. For that reason, they're. 5th
- 52:36that is. That is the 2 in my opinion,
- 52:40very difficult things to depend on sustaining going into a
- 52:44season. That's really why I have a team
- 52:47like Saint Louis, which has a lot more depth, extremely well
- 52:50coached, and just less star power.
- 52:53They don't have a car corner, they don't have a.
- 52:54Shit but then how do you justify like another horse goal is worse
- 52:57power plays and less talent? They're more robust.
- 53:01I mean, I just don't know what to say.
- 53:03I guess They've got a decent third line, this team, The Jets.
- 53:08But if if Hello Buck is 80% as good as last year, which still
- 53:12makes him like a top three goalie in the league, just not
- 53:15enough disputed top one, then that really changes things
- 53:18because he was so good. Like so so good.
- 53:22I anecdotally, I just remember the games he had that he stole
- 53:26for them. He would save like 35.
- 53:28Shots, Yeah, he was like, he can't.
- 53:30Depend on a goal way to do that. You want everything else.
- 53:32Here, look, maybe, maybe this is just what it is.
- 53:35Maybe he is just going to get it.
- 53:37There's another third year in a row and a Hart Trophy again and.
- 53:41Then suck in the playoffs. Again.
- 53:42Yeah, exactly. Maybe that's what it is.
- 53:44Or maybe they learn from what happened in the playoffs.
- 53:48Maybe they don't play them as much.
- 53:49Maybe they try to make the playoffs and not be the
- 53:53Presidents trophy winners. Like these are all
- 53:55possibilities. I don't love this team on paper
- 53:58as much as you guys do, I think. But I acknowledge their stars.
- 54:02I mean, I'm very happy to have Velardi, chiefly Kyle Connor
- 54:05Perfetti on my team. Hello.
- 54:07What's the best goalie? How about your team?
- 54:08There's no question about it. Josh Morrissey is a top
- 54:10defenseman, so Neil Piyong for Vengers leaves and Luke Shen for
- 54:13Bangers leagues. Don't sleep on Dillon Sandberg
- 54:16course fantasy relevant to this season as well.
- 54:18And he got paid. This is a good team.
- 54:19All that money, baby. I just wear, I guess I just have
- 54:22the other teams higher than them.
- 54:24Saint Louis I'm very very confident in and then the Wild,
- 54:29I guess Jets. And while they're kind of a toss
- 54:31up, after Josh kinda gave us his synopsis on the Wild, I'm sort
- 54:35of considering re ranking Wild and Jets.
- 54:37Yeah, I would also rerank them if I could.
- 54:39Why they realize I was so convinced.
- 54:41Yeah, well, especially I mean if Kaprizov.
- 54:44Gone. Yeah, there's no question.
- 54:46About. It but yeah, I like my avalanche
- 54:49Blues over Sorry, I like my. A lot of teams over the Jazz.
- 54:56Half the division. It basically will know Avalanche
- 55:00Blues and Wild ISM maybe and then the number one team there's
- 55:03no question. Yeah.
- 55:04But yeah, that's. It I listen, I think the biggest
- 55:08question for this team is there 2C I think that's the biggest
- 55:11glaring weakness that they have for sure.
- 55:12But I. Think Jonathan Taves is gonna be
- 55:14worth having in a face off when league?
- 55:15Because when before he left the league he was really he was
- 55:18double digit faceoff wins towards the end of his tenure
- 55:20when he was pretty bad. He was still restorable in face
- 55:24off when leaks because of that double digit so I could see him
- 55:26being. Rostered.
- 55:26I can see him being like a Jordan stall.
- 55:28Like what? It's always fantasy.
- 55:30Is that slight least did some other back?
- 55:31Cuts, yeah, but he would like honestly was less than you
- 55:33expect. It's like 1.
- 55:35Yeah, but whatever. I could see tapes being like
- 55:37literally zeroes other than double digit face.
- 55:39Off, yeah, it doesn't question basically.
- 55:41Yeah. Yeah, I don't.
- 55:44I don't. Be a stream like on a week where
- 55:46you need face off wins you'll. Stream honestly, it's and this
- 55:49is kind of just like a like a bad thing to say, but I think
- 55:52what's gonna happen is gonna come play a few games and just
- 55:55realize, OK, I know I can't keep up anymore.
- 55:57You think? Yeah, it's sad because you're
- 55:59such an amazing player, right? Yeah, Yeah.
- 56:01And look, maybe he proves us wrong and becomes Jonathan.
- 56:05Honestly, really, I think at this point he already has to
- 56:09know where his mental is going back, coming back to the league,
- 56:13because they're going into the season now with him as the two
- 56:15see, yeah, like you can just be like 2 games like I'm out and
- 56:18leave them hanging like that. Yeah, I don't think it'll be his
- 56:20choice to leave. I think if if he can't keep up,
- 56:22then the team will be like, alright, we need to bump you
- 56:24down or scratch him or. Whatever.
- 56:26Yeah, exactly. And it's just a function of his
- 56:29age and the fact that in like 3 years.
- 56:31Yeah, exactly. You don't play in three years at
- 56:3424 to 27, it's hard to come back 34 to 37.
- 56:38I mean, come on, you know, it's just not realistic.
- 56:41He's getting paid more money than Victor Olofsson, so.
- 56:44So powerfully. Wanna hear you?
- 56:46Yeah, you know, fantasy wise though, it could be a fun round
- 56:50dart throw to be honest, because like like I I think he's not
- 56:53getting. My really think he has no value
- 56:54outside of face off. Wins and yeah, yeah.
- 56:57It's probably yeah. In all likelihood, I agree.
- 57:00I just. That's a fun.
- 57:02Name type that you put on your watchlist because of the name
- 57:04and you wait and see if something happens, but probably.
- 57:06Not but I I really don't think anything's gonna come with.
- 57:09It but the main question for me is they have a lot of depth,
- 57:13like their third line is honestly probably one of those
- 57:15stronger third lines in the league.
- 57:16Their defensive course great. They have a great goalie.
- 57:20They have the best power play. So I mean, I definitely disagree
- 57:24with Jake putting them at 5:00. I can see them finishing second
- 57:26or third. Maybe you know, some presidents
- 57:28cup slump for the year after. They just kind of want to make
- 57:32the playoffs and make a statement in the playoffs.
- 57:34Like shocked at 3, but there's no other dropping out of the top
- 57:37three division now. I can't see them finishing
- 57:39outside of four. Like, there's just no way.
- 57:42Alright, should we go to the last one?
- 57:44Yes, yeah. Number one at #1 we've got the
- 57:48Dallas Stars. Last year they ranked #2 and
- 57:50unanimously, we rarely agree, all three of us, but we all have
- 57:54them at #1 Notable players Mikko Rantanen, Jake Ottinger, Jason
- 57:59Robertson, Roope Hintz, Mike Johnston changing, even Thomas
- 58:04Hartley. Mirror.
- 58:05He's getting Tyler Sagan. Last year they ranked 17th on
- 58:08the power play. That's actually worse than I.
- 58:10Expected, yeah. But yeah, it's like you said,
- 58:12you can name almost their whole team as fantasy relevant.
- 58:15Again, that's we've spoken about the too many mouths to feed all
- 58:17that. It's going to be interesting.
- 58:20Mikko Rantanen should be taken probably 12th overall in a lot
- 58:25of leagues. I would say something.
- 58:27Around Is he going to be the Rantanen of Colorado, the
- 58:30Rantanen of Carolina, or the Rantanen of Dallas in the
- 58:33playoffs? Gonna be interesting to see.
- 58:36It's a very, very big question mark because until last year he
- 58:39was like 7th or 8th overall. Yeah, this, this is the the best
- 58:43team on paper in the league. I have no qualms in saying that.
- 58:46I think that they have so much going for them.
- 58:49It also honestly makes you think like how the hell can they get
- 58:52all these players on one team? Yeah, and all their guys are
- 58:54locked in for eight years. The only guy who they haven't
- 58:57locked in yet is Jason Robertson.
- 58:58Yeah, he's getting traded. I guess we'll see.
- 59:02I think Neil will find a way to keep him.
- 59:04It's. For the right price.
- 59:07Yeah. It's going to be fun to see what
- 59:10they could do this year just on the ice.
- 59:13I think they're gonna like be the league leader in goals for
- 59:16goals scored. Robertson has been quote UN
- 59:20quote disappointing. Still basically getting a point
- 59:21per game, you know, just off his 109 point high from three years
- 59:26ago. But he's pretty good.
- 59:27I mean, he's kind of an Iron Man.
- 59:28He's played every game for the last three years.
- 59:31Rantanen was insane. Insane times. 1000 billion in
- 59:36the playoffs is the most ridiculous thing ever.
- 59:39He was a moose. Yeah, love Wyatt Johnson, always
- 59:41have, always will. Don't worry.
- 59:42And party, you're still my #1 But yeah.
- 59:46And you know, Maverick Burke could be your kind of a little
- 59:48surprise too. I mean, you spoke about all the
- 59:50players. Yeah.
- 59:50I don't think he's, like, worth mentioning in that list because
- 59:52you have so many elite guys. But yeah.
- 59:55And another thing I have a feeling Kevin wants to bring up,
- 59:59and I'll. I'll swoop in the power play, 1
- 1:00:01defends, win. Yeah.
- 1:00:04I'll talk about Thomas Harley. Yeah, I just, I call me crazy,
- 1:00:09but I still think he's gonna be powerfully 1.
- 1:00:11Yeah, that's the the risk of this team is twofold for fantasy
- 1:00:15picking any of these guys knowing that that line won't get
- 1:00:19a point yet they could still win 50 in the game, which doesn't
- 1:00:22happen on Colorado, doesn't happen on Tampa Bay, but here
- 1:00:26it's. Awful team and that team wins.
- 1:00:28Like score seven goals and the guy doesn't get a point.
- 1:00:30It's like the better it could be ranted in this year rather than
- 1:00:33next game. They win 40 and he gets 4
- 1:00:35points. It's going to be so volatile and
- 1:00:36annoying, but it's the nature of picking such an amazing team and
- 1:00:39the power play 1 defenseman. I just kind of want to stay away
- 1:00:42from that cause I don't know how it's gonna.
- 1:00:44Go, I'm not touching either of these guys.
- 1:00:45Thing with Justin is even if he's power play one, we've seen
- 1:00:47him be terrible for fantasy even.
- 1:00:49He's not a good fan so. Him, he's just worse than
- 1:00:52previous years because he has that uncertainty.
- 1:00:54Harley's great with power play, one we should have last year he
- 1:00:56was really good, but I just don't know how do you how do you
- 1:00:59bump skin in like in real life as the.
- 1:01:01Coach, they did it last year. But was because he was injured.
- 1:01:04So Harley came in because he was injured and then did a good job,
- 1:01:07so they don't want to mess with it right in time for playoffs
- 1:01:08when he came back, I think. But now they have the whole
- 1:01:10offseason again. I think Harley is a really
- 1:01:13highly touted, you know, player. We saw him get called up for the
- 1:01:17Four Nations as well. Like the NHL likes him as a
- 1:01:20player. He's only 23 and he's already
- 1:01:21put a stamp on like the international scene.
- 1:01:24I think. I think he's just a great
- 1:01:25player. I think they saw what he did on
- 1:01:27P1. It would be crazy for them to
- 1:01:29not, you know, know that he's better than he's going in that
- 1:01:32spot and also roll with that. Like this team wants to win a
- 1:01:34championship. They're not.
- 1:01:35They're not about the pleasantries.
- 1:01:37Of appeasing like their top guyer has been for years.
- 1:01:40And it's not like he's a particularly defensive
- 1:01:41defenseman like his. He's a great, he's a great
- 1:01:44defensive. Defenseman he's not saying he's
- 1:01:45bad at it, but like his game is his offence also like he's he's
- 1:01:50not just one he's not like a slave in he's.
- 1:01:53He's not. A pure, he's not a pure
- 1:01:54offensive defenseman either, but that's a big part of his game is
- 1:01:58his offence. So I just don't know how you
- 1:02:00bump him down for Harley. But I guess if I'm thinking of a
- 1:02:03comparable, you can look at Ottawa with Shabbat having
- 1:02:05gotten bumped down for Sanderson.
- 1:02:07So it's not out of the realm of possibility.
- 1:02:10Yeah, the difference is that Sanderson was drafted to be that
- 1:02:12guy. Yeah.
- 1:02:13And I'm still on the side of of I think Harley's gonna be the
- 1:02:16the starter there. It's, it's just really
- 1:02:19interesting to see because. Harley's getting drafted with
- 1:02:22people assuming his power play. One that's not, that's not where
- 1:02:25I want to draft him because it's not 100%.
- 1:02:27Certain they were going back-to-back end draft would
- 1:02:29hardly getting the edge on being ahead of Hakkinen.
- 1:02:33I'm I'm comfortable taking Harley wherever he's getting
- 1:02:36drafted. I feel like right now they're
- 1:02:37both kind of getting drafted in the middle of the pack because
- 1:02:39there is that uncertainty. Yeah.
- 1:02:41But if anybody is going to like if he's going to get people one,
- 1:02:45he won't be valuable. If hard to get people, he will
- 1:02:47be valuable. Yeah.
- 1:02:48So I think like Take the Shot and Harley.
- 1:02:50Elections one or the other. I'm definitely taking Harley on
- 1:02:52my team. I wouldn't touch he's getting on
- 1:02:54my team this year especially, but in past years as well.
- 1:02:57But like Thomas Harley or John Carlson.
- 1:03:01I'll give me Harley because Carlson also is not guaranteed
- 1:03:03power Play 1. OHS take Harley as well.
- 1:03:05OK, Harley or Dougie Hamilton. I'm probably taking Hamilton
- 1:03:12there. OK.
- 1:03:13Yeah, I'm more confident in Hamilton's power play. 1 and
- 1:03:16Hamilton has the great. Shot cause though I know
- 1:03:18Hamilton is going much higher, you know what I mean?
- 1:03:19So Harley or McAvoy? Macavoy.
- 1:03:22Yeah, I like McAvoy. He's all good.
- 1:03:24Back not plus minus league, Yeah, clear, but yeah.
- 1:03:30Another another name here that jumps out on this list is Matt
- 1:03:35Duchene, right? Last year he had an unreal year.
- 1:03:37He was on our top trap players. This year I think he's gonna
- 1:03:40regress big time. Everybody has him regressing.
- 1:03:43OK, cool. So it's not a hot take.
- 1:03:45No, it's not. Kind of agrees.
- 1:03:46OK, here's another one that I think I might have a different
- 1:03:50opinion than you guys. I'm a bit lower on Wyatt Johnson
- 1:03:53than you guys are, I think. I think that he's going to be on
- 1:03:56line 3 at even strength, really. Three power play 1.
- 1:03:59I think it's gonna be on line. Where does?
- 1:04:01Where does he make it? Like Line 2 last year was
- 1:04:04Duchane, Sagan, Marshman, right? Yeah.
- 1:04:07So you think Johnston takes March into place?
- 1:04:10I think he centres line too. Yeah, to Shane sagging.
- 1:04:13Dushane was the centre last year.
- 1:04:15Yeah, but he doesn't need to be centre.
- 1:04:17Jump to the wing. Yeah.
- 1:04:19I guess I could see. That I think Jamie Benn is the
- 1:04:22classic, you know, line, line three guy for.
- 1:04:24Them I was seeing was thinking Dushane, Ben and Sagan would be
- 1:04:27aligned to. Ben no, I don't think so.
- 1:04:29OK, I. Think.
- 1:04:31Listen, anything can happen. We're still far out from the
- 1:04:32season, but my expectations? Why online?
- 1:04:35To the fact that we think Duchene and Sagan are taking a
- 1:04:37step back. I don't.
- 1:04:38I'm not excited about Johnston's even strength deployment.
- 1:04:41PowerPoint one is gonna be sick, like no doubt about it, but I
- 1:04:43think he's getting taken as a guy who's got the power play 1
- 1:04:47and a great even strength deployment and I'm just not that
- 1:04:49sold on it. Include that with her whole too
- 1:04:51many mouths to feed argument and I just don't view him as the
- 1:04:54top. I view as the third best forward
- 1:04:56on this team after Ranting and Robertson.
- 1:04:58That's fair, but Raton and Robertson are both going to play
- 1:05:01on the wing, barring, you know, the face off here and there,
- 1:05:04whatever. And because of that, I concede
- 1:05:08Johnston essentially having a role on that top sex no matter
- 1:05:11what. Yeah, I know you're kind of
- 1:05:13saying you see men for me, I see Johnston for sure.
- 1:05:16And if it's not working with Duchenne and say if they are
- 1:05:19regressing because of that, maybe the team is not winning
- 1:05:22with they should be winning, then they're going to flip up
- 1:05:25the lines and put Duchene line 1 and it will be Robertson,
- 1:05:28Johnston, Sagan. That's not bad.
- 1:05:29Or even Ranton and Johnston Duchene.
- 1:05:32That's pretty cool too. Yeah.
- 1:05:34You know, like these things could.
- 1:05:35Work ended up, yeah, I think in my mind, Ranson Robertson hints
- 1:05:38was the clear line 1. It should be, but you never
- 1:05:41know. I mean, yeah, if Robertson has
- 1:05:43no stranger to slumps. Would you rather have Robertson
- 1:05:46or why Johnson? I'm taking Robertson.
- 1:05:48I think I'd rather Johnston. OK.
- 1:05:52How about you? I'm going Robertson.
- 1:05:55And you're the. You're the and the Robertson.
- 1:05:57Robertson heater, Yeah. But it's just because Robertson
- 1:05:59is gonna have that line 1. Exactly what I wanna know where
- 1:06:02you guys actually value. Why Johnson?
- 1:06:04They're like, why Johnson or Drake Batherson?
- 1:06:07Johnston. That's a tough one.
- 1:06:13I think I go Bathurst and honestly.
- 1:06:15That's pretty low, Josh, in terms of like the names.
- 1:06:18I was starting at the bottom there, so like Johnson or Kevin
- 1:06:21Fiala. Johnston I'm not taking Fiala
- 1:06:24again after the last. Year in the second-half,
- 1:06:26Johnston. That's tough.
- 1:06:30I like Myers potential ceiling if he gets power play one over
- 1:06:33Johnston and the back hats like I'm actually in the draft.
- 1:06:38You're round four, round 5. I guess I'd probably still go
- 1:06:42Johnston because power play on Dallas is gonna be sick, you
- 1:06:44know? Call their Johnston.
- 1:06:47Coffield. Coffield, Coffield.
- 1:06:52But it's why Johnson or or Eric Sinek.
- 1:06:55I would say John, I take Johnston.
- 1:06:57I'm done with Ericsson. I had him last year and it was.
- 1:06:59It's so bad because it's such a bad move to Fiat.
- 1:07:03Think about how you get a guy, he gets injured that year, has
- 1:07:06his worst year ever, and then you go into next year like, I'm
- 1:07:08not drafting that guy again. And that's a terrible mentality
- 1:07:11to have. You have to go clean slate and
- 1:07:13forget about it. But it's also a lot easier said
- 1:07:15than done, right? The guy burned me so hard last
- 1:07:17year that I just don't want anything to do with.
- 1:07:18Him Alright, last one because we also didn't talk about this
- 1:07:21player when we spoke about Winnipeg and I feel like we
- 1:07:22haven't talked about this player all season, but why did Johnson
- 1:07:25or Mark Shifley? Shifley.
- 1:07:26Shifley. Yeah, I know you're gonna.
- 1:07:28Say that nobody's talking about Marshfield right now.
- 1:07:30He's in that middle ground where he's like, you know, I feel like
- 1:07:33not as good as Suzuki Robert Thomas, but he's not that far
