- 0:01Putting aside the allurement factor of having some kind of
- 0:05special unusual extraordinary type of experience which is
- 0:11clearly a way to feed the ego personality.
- 0:15We come to the actual benefits of such experiences.
- 0:19There are cases where an individual is leading, a
- 0:22perfectly ordinary life in the world and something
- 0:25extraordinary happens to him which changes the entire future
- 0:30Direction and focus of his life. We can look at the experience of
- 0:35Saul on the road to Damascus. Recounted in the Bible.
- 0:40We also see some individuals have what is called a near-death
- 0:43experience, which transforms their view of life and they come
- 0:48back with a new focus and Mission such as the case of
- 0:53dannion Brinkley who are struck by lightning and who returned to
- 0:57life to become the author of Saved By the Light and
- 1:01subsequently founder of an organization called compassion
- 1:05in action. His prior life was radically
- 1:09different from what he subsequently took up.
- 1:13In the book called to heal, one of the chapters deals with an
- 1:17African healer who tried to avoid taking up the role of
- 1:21shamanic healer and tried to live an ordinary life.
- 1:25But continued experiences in signs made it clear to her that
- 1:29she was intended for the healing path.
- 1:33So eventually began to follow. Thus an extraordinary experience
- 1:39can bring an individual to consciously take up.
- 1:42Up the spiritual life. It is, of course, not something
- 1:46that occurs without precedent such as prior life development
- 1:50of the spiritual interest or practice.
- 1:53As the Divine Force Works within the framework of his own
- 1:57manifestation process. Even if we cannot always see, or
- 2:02understand the background or the links to past development, due,
- 2:07to our mental framework and ignorance of the movement of the
- 2:11Soul through. Then death and The evolutionary
- 2:15development through time. Additionally spiritual
- 2:19experiences, may come while one is treading the path perhaps to
- 2:24open up a new capacity to work on the transformation of the
- 2:27nature. Perhaps to encourage and support
- 2:31the faith of the individual to help him endure and persevere.
- 2:36Sometimes these experiences May provide an Insight that helps
- 2:41them work through particular inner or outer limitations or
- 2:45obstacles. They are facing A disciple
- 2:49inquires then what's the use of having experiences?
- 2:55The mother writes quote. It is not a question of use.
- 3:00Not everything in the world is utilitarian.
- 3:03It's like that because it's like that.
- 3:05Yes, you can say, what's the use to someone, who is exclusively
- 3:09preoccupied with having experiences, who has no inner
- 3:13intellectual and spiritual preparation, and who threw some
- 3:18sort of fantasy would like to have experiences.
- 3:21You could say to him? Yes.
- 3:23What's the use? It is not this that will lead
- 3:27you to the spiritual life. It can help you.
- 3:30If you have taken up The Path and if you have taken up The
- 3:34Path and all sincerity, well they will come to the extent
- 3:39that they are useful for to seek experience.
- 3:42For experiences. Sake is altogether useless and
- 3:46you can tell people what's the good.
- 3:49It's a fantasy, a fantasy on another plane.
