- 0:00It's about that time. It's about that time that I
- 0:04share my thoughts about perspectives about top employers
- 0:06Institute. I'm a fan.
- 0:10I'm impressed and I'm realizing day day in and day out.
- 0:14It's needed how important it is. For those that know me, you
- 0:19know, that I spent a lot of times ahead of people internally
- 0:23Not that long actually let me let me know.
- 0:25I talked as if I was a grizzled veteran but I spend them on six
- 0:28years. Internalized.
- 0:29I had two people and what I learned throughout those six
- 0:31years were a few things, I learned that implore Brandi made
- 0:35a lot of sense. I learned that being honest and
- 0:39being strategic, right? Employer brand and made even
- 0:41more sense. I learned that myself as a see,
- 0:46Charo, or myself, as a head of people or the team members that
- 0:49I had, whether it was in recruiting or internal comms, I
- 0:52realized that we didn't know everything and it was important
- 0:55to be able to have an access to community to thought leadership
- 0:59to other leaders and being able to order to take different
- 1:02perspectives and insights and tactics and tools and share
- 1:05resources, I realized how Important that was I siloed
- 1:09myself for so long I didn't I didn't lean into what other
- 1:14heads of people around the world and what other heads of people
- 1:17around companies that are similar to ours we were doing.
- 1:21And I think another factor that I just really missed the Mark 1,
- 1:25and really should have invested more in, is this, the overall HR
- 1:28technology and how it can really support companies today, I
- 1:32think, I think a lot of organizations don't put enough
- 1:36stock into being really strategic really Innovative
- 1:39about HR Technologies. And frankly, another thing is
- 1:42being really super being being super strategic around the, the,
- 1:48the HR systems or the HR best practice, is that hold their
- 1:52company, upright? And so, having said all of that,
- 1:56I've realized that my passion, my love, my dedication for top
- 1:59employers, is his grown such a level that it's time to
- 2:03officially make some thoughts and some content around what we
- 2:08do in a nutshell, to keep it simple for because those that
- 2:12are listening to, this actually will be.
- 2:14Hopefully, those, that will potentially collaborate with me,
- 2:18learn more about what we're doing.
- 2:20Take advantage of, I think what what employees can appreciate,
- 2:25what internal Executives can appreciate, what you as a
- 2:28practitioner can appreciate. And what the holistic
- 2:31organization can appreciate, if your company right now in 2023
- 2:36and you're facing data analytics battles.
- 2:40And what I mean by battles, I mean you're facing other HR
- 2:42teams and other companies around the world and making sure it and
- 2:47you're happy, you're being challenged around.
- 2:48The Dame of the, you have S2 and the data that they have access
- 2:51to your being challenged and the better data is just going to
- 2:55inevitably allow the better HR best practices, the better
- 2:58efforts to better the the better strategic initiatives is going
- 3:02to allow Whoever has the the better data and moves fast
- 3:06against that data and smart and strategically against that day,
- 3:09they're going to be the companies that went The
- 3:11companies that play the recruiting game that are going
- 3:13to probably get better Talent, the companies that are more
- 3:16honest throughout the process, is probably going to get even
- 3:18more aligned as well as talented and smart and and phenomenal
- 3:23Talent companies that are not afraid to build community and
- 3:27learn from other organizations are most likely going to be
- 3:30Innovative and top of their chain and level as it pertains
- 3:33to HR best practices. And so, if all of that makes
- 3:36sense, then investing in top, employers Institute should make
- 3:40a lot of sense. and this is no like commercial where I'm trying
- 3:44like this is just pure facts and I've done this for every single
- 3:47company that I've ever come across and I believe in that I
- 3:50care about and that I appreciate let's just talk about employer
- 3:54branding for a second by going through top employers, or even
- 3:57or taking any sort of time to truly unpack.
- 4:00What's really happening inside the company?
- 4:04At an HR level. What are we?
- 4:06What are we really doing? What are we really?
- 4:09What are we really doing as it pertains to every major function
- 4:13of the business today? What are we doing?
- 4:17How are we being different in the market?
- 4:20How are we surprised appreciating and supporting our
- 4:22people? How are we put positioning, and
- 4:25aligning ourselves to be able to maintain and retain?
- 4:28Our people, what best practices are we applying?
- 4:30What are we doing? And I just think a lot of
- 4:34companies don't take the time to ask themselves.
- 4:36That feel a lot of companies don't take the time to really,
- 4:39to really unpack that. I think a lot of companies just
- 4:42simply don't take the time to to, to involve and, and
- 4:47Unpacking, an audit themselves and be honest with themselves
- 4:51about, hey, this is who we are, this is the value that we're
- 4:54trying to bring to the world and, and, and, and we're proud
- 4:57of that. And so, from an employer
- 4:59branding perspective, if you're a company today, right?
- 5:02That believes that the at a bare minimum, it's important to allow
- 5:06every single applicant to not only know the benefits, not only
- 5:10know, the salary, not only know, just the high level value of
- 5:13your culture, but to truly see a seal A moment that says not only
- 5:19are we do we think we're good company but we've done the hard
- 5:22work to be a good company. That makes a lot of sense to me.
- 5:27That makes a lot of sense to me, and it should make a lot of
- 5:30sense to a lot of employees. And so I think strictly from a
- 5:33Bria uh, Brandon employer branding perspective, I always
- 5:37believed that employees that are connected to an organization for
- 5:40more than just the logo. Makes a lot of sense and working
- 5:44with us really supports that benchmarking I believe that it's
- 5:49important to be honest with yourself and analyze the gaps
- 5:53and also double down on things you're doing well.
- 5:56And so I think what we're doing is not only do you get the seal
- 5:59that can truly support and appreciate from an employer
- 6:02branding perspective. But you have opportunities to
- 6:05access things from a benchmarking perspective.
- 6:07And we're seeing that in scale, we're seeing HR, Tech Solutions,
- 6:12being able to make Benchmark what you're doing and that is
- 6:15just as important from an HR perspective.
- 6:18You have to take the HR practices that you're doing and
- 6:21measure them in order them and push them and Benchmark them
- 6:24against with the global standard is and analyze the gaps to be
- 6:27excited about the gaps. I know growing up, whether it
- 6:30was me being an athlete, whether it was starting my first
- 6:33business, whether it's being ahead of people internally, I
- 6:36get excited about trying to close the gaps.
- 6:40What can I do better? How can I grow?
- 6:41How can I impact by employees more?
- 6:43So if that is, if that's exciting for you, then
- 6:46benchmarking should be something that should that's on your radar
- 6:49and we can provide that as well, alignment, right.
- 6:53Like I think I think again, too many companies, Silo themselves
- 6:59and also, when you're working at an Enterprise level, I've seen
- 7:02this at scale. Now, so many Enterprise level
- 7:04companies are siloing themselves, they have 30 40, 50
- 7:08different with offices and sweets and teams that are
- 7:13working around the around the globe and get the HR best
- 7:17practices that exist within each.
- 7:19One of those different regions are completely different.
- 7:22We need to combine and align those together.
- 7:26It's a we allow we support and we help organizations think
- 7:29through that as well and the connect and build relationships
- 7:32across the markets. And so I think the punchline of
- 7:34what I want to share today and wrap this up is very simple,
- 7:38going through a process to really understand who you are.
- 7:42Learn and develop grow analyze unpack.
- 7:48Going through that process, asking yourself the hard and
- 7:50tough questions. And being honest about those
- 7:52questions, And inevitably inevitably being ready to
- 7:56develop to grow, to change to learn but also get an award at
- 8:00the end of the day because that award can help someone that is a
- 8:05incredible talent that just left for the horrible organization,
- 8:08that's looking for a great new home.
- 8:09That award can can attract them that award to get busting seats.
- 8:15That award can help you grow your bottom line.
- 8:19So if any of this is exciting for you.
- 8:22I'm hoping you've enjoyed this podcast.
- 8:24Obviously reach out to me personally but I just wanted to
- 8:26make a quick little snippet to break down what we're doing with
- 8:29talking employers Institute and frankly, why I believe it's
- 8:31valuable. So as always just a few
- 8:34thoughts, just a few perspectives, we'll talk soon.
