  [upbeat music] Decent. Yeah.
• 0:16
It's the full spectrum cycling thing number 39. 30? 39. 39? 39. At least that's what my tally says. [laughs] Okay. I believe so. All right. Got Sven here, JK to my right, and- Hello, hello... Mr.
• 0:32
Tony Burger across the table over there. Hola. Holy cow, we got a lot of stuff on the list for today. How'd that happen? Besides how freaking cold it is until tomorrow? Right. Yeah. Or yesterday. Just a one-day chill.
• 0:45
Yeah, 9 degrees today and 34 tomorrow. Yesterday, it's even. It's... I'm sorry. [laughs] On Wednesday it was really cold. Yeah. Man, it's nip- nippy today.
• 0:55
I went on more test rides in this cold weather than I normally do, and I'm like- You mean on Wednesday... the only part of me that got cold was right there, the little- Lose all the heat out your neck. Yeah.
• 1:04
I didn't have a neck gator on or a dang old, uh, turtleneck or anything. Whatever that little spot right there, what's that thing called? Yeah. That, that spot. Below your Adam's apple there where it's pokey-ish. Chilly.
• 1:18
That's what you call, uh, medical terminology right there. [laughs] So I don't know, where do we start? I guess, uh, urban assault ride. Oh, that was great. With, uh- That's-... Mr., Mr.
• 1:29
Aaron Dolmeyer from the Surly Bikes. You know, I, I gotta give that guy credit, 'cause I saw my bike the next morning and it was filthy. [laughs] So that poor guy had to clean a lot of bikes- [laughs]...
• 1:40
and a lot of goose shit off a lot of bikes. Yeah, where'd all that goose poop come from anyway? The goose-deuce, man The grass, man. The grass when we were cutting through the beach. Well, I know it- No...
• 1:48
comes from gooses. The goose-deuce. The geese. [laughs] Oh, uh, uh- Man... that whole area by Veterans- It's just, yes... that we were going by- Oh, yeah... it doesn't matter if you're in, on the sidewalk, on the street.
• 1:58
It's everywhere. It's everywhere. Oh, that's true. And it's like a, it's like a cat- Yeah... size, and it, yeah, it holds, by the way. Yeah. You'll see- But-... a little greenery on your, on the, uh, tires.
• 2:08
[laughs] Yeah. [laughs] You need to, you need to scrub your brush out. If you just wanna say- Watch Jenny Letter, Ken, you'll understand just how important Canadian geese are. Yeah, geese. Unless there's a golf course.
• 2:17
Yeah. [laughs] Uh, oh cripes in here, we got a freaking call already. Oh. Oh, holy hell, Batman, uh, welcome to the radio program. Who do we have on the line? Uh, hello? Uh, hello. Hello? [laughs] What's up?
• 2:32
Is this, is this thing on? Yeah, you're on, you're on the radio program, sir. What- Are you lit? Please tell us your name and why you're calling in. Thank you. Oh, uh, hi.
• 2:42
My name is, uh, Dave Lons, and, um, calling just to, uh, add a few colorful, uh, notes to the, uh, Pugsley World Championship ax story that you've managed to leave out.
• 2:54
[laughs] Oh, I'm gonna ax you, I was gonna ax you about that. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] And, uh, first and foremost, give a big shout-out to, uh, Big Sexy for making it back home to, uh, the Big Easy. Right on.
• 3:06
Yeah, I saw that he was home. Good thing. Yeah, yeah. He- Heather's back in the, uh- Yeah... in Louisiana... looks like, uh, him and Heather are having a wonderful time in the, uh, quarter down there.
• 3:14
Are they married yet? Common— I don't know. [laughs] Common law. [laughs] I shot him a message and he said he doesn't feel well, and he said, "Yeah, give me a shout-out." I'm like, "I already planned on doing that."
• 3:24
As much as she, uh, had her seat up his butt that whole time, they better be married. [laughs] That's right. [laughs] That dude, yeah, that's gotta be common law by now, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, I don't know.
• 3:35
So, uh, the last time you called in, by the way, was September 11th, just so you know, I can keep track- Yeah... of when you call. Ah. [laughs] So what do you have to say about the Pugsley ax?
• 3:49
Oh, no, I'm just saying, you know, it's, um, uh, about the whole story about how it made it back to Milwaukee, um, how, um, we, we determined that Jeff O'Gara was not the proper champion, more like a champion. Ooh.
• 4:03
And, uh, they skipped the, uh, PWC one year, and then the next year I was at Decorah and I found the ax hiding in a corner of a bar all dusty and looking lonely.
• 4:19
Um, so I decided to steal it and bring it home to Chuck Chad Wilson Willy, the real champion. [laughs] And, um, I awarded it to him. Ah, that's how that gets done, huh? Ah. [laughs] I guess that's a legit way- Yeah...
• 4:32
to, to, uh, award the, uh, ax, and it's been- That's right. I, I, I, I, I saw it in Justice and I ride it that day, uh, 'cause that's what I do. Uh-huh. Um,
• 4:43
uh, I was talking to Spinner about it this weekend at Shell Track, uh, one of the greatest fat bike races in the world. Yeah. One of the, uh, longest running, uh, in the state. In Wisconsin. Uh- In Manitowoc. Yeah.
• 4:55
In Manitowoc. [laughs] It's the longest running fat bike race at Shell Track. I'm still that sorry. [laughs] Um, um, but Spinner said that, um,
• 5:07
well, originally the, uh, the rule was that you had to actually do the race and then do the after event to win, and O'Gara didn't do the race, but he won the after event.
• 5:17
So Chuck did the race and the after event and got second, so I determined that Chuck was the real champion. Yeah. You're, you're good at that type of thing. I like rationalization. Yeah, great. Yep.
• 5:29
[laughs] So it, it's been- I can make a damn argument for any of this. [laughs] I know it's been languishing around Milwaukee now for a couple of years, and it actually went up to Shell Track.
• 5:37
I gave it to Spinner and then he gave it back and said, "Maybe we should award that thing down at Fatter by the Lake and do a proper Pugsley World Championship event down there at, uh, the event coming up this, uh- Oh...
• 5:49
third, fourth, and fifth of Janu-mary." Yeah. Well, if that's gonna be an overnight event, that would be proper, 'cause it's, y'all, it's gotta be an overnight event, first of all. Proper. [laughs] Yeah, for sure. Yeah.
• 6:00
Otherwise, we have to go back to Decorah. That was the other idea. Do we go back to Decorah and actually get another event going there? Well, the other thing Spinner said-
• 6:06
Well, Chad thought that, you know, the winner has to plan the next event, and Spinner's like, "Oh yeah, that's a great idea." We don't have to do anything. [laughs] You know?
• 6:14
It's like- That's all single speed world champion-y-ish, doing it like that... Chad, Chad was actually thinking about planning one around the Milwaukee area. May- maybe.
• 6:23
'Cause he, he was willing to embrace the whole, uh, um, sure, you know, we can have an event here or whatever. I'm like, all right, well, where you gonna put everybody up, and, uh, that. And he's like, "Oh, yeah."
• 6:35
[laughs] Like, um- Yeah, the logistics get in the way of having fun sometimes... that's kinda singled out. That's right. [laughs] For sure. So the, the...
• 6:42
I think this idea has legs, doing it down at the Satter by the Lake event. There's gonna be plenty of people down there, and plenty of the right kind of people too. Right. So we'll see what we can put together for that.
• 6:58
Um, yeah, definitely. Um, 'cause, I don't know, whatever, it, it needs to come back out of hiding and get back in circulation.
• 7:04
It's sitting at the shop now, so if people wanna have their picture taken with it, they can stop by Everyday Cycles at 826 East Locust Street in Milwaukee and- Already done... pose with the ax. Already done. Yeah. Yep.
• 7:15
JK and Tony have already had their- [laughs]... their time in the sun with the hatchet. I saw that, yeah. [laughs] That's a little heavy to be holding. [laughs] I know.
• 7:25
I touched it at all, you know, it's like, it, it's almost like, wait, what, what's that one hockey trophy before the, uh, Stanley Cup that you don't wanna touch?
• 7:31
[laughs] 'Cause, but I already touched it, so I'll never win it, you know? Yep, yep. Yeah. So, um- Chewy, Chewy was posting pictures of it, I'm like, "Hey, I've seen that before." He's like, "Yeah, it was Colin's."
• 7:40
I'm like, "You don't know where that's been." [laughs] Yeah, it was at Colin's for a while. Yeah.
• 7:44
No, that was actually the first time I touched it, when I grabbed it off his wall to take it back- [laughs] That's what she said... to Cora when we were all loading up to go back one year.
• 7:52
Uh, that, that was back when it was still on a yearly rotation. Right on. Um, yeah. So you- But yeah, Spinner said I will never win that, but um, you know, whatever. We'll see.
• 8:05
Maybe someday it'll come to my house for a year. Yeah, right on. So you love, you like the Shell Track event, eh? What's that? You like the Shell Track event? Oh, yeah. Yeah, definitely. It's always a good time.
• 8:18
A little chilly this year, right? Um, but we featured in the end here- No, it was nice out... in the relay race, uh, unlike last year. [coughs] But, um, yeah, unfortunately no beach to ride on, but yeah, good time.
• 8:31
Good little trail. Yeah, for sure. It was a good time. Um, that- They- Did they have the PBR? So the, so the, the- It basically fought its way- No... into the only race I do every year category. [laughs] Yeah.
• 8:44
They had, uh, uh, fatbike.com had the first half of the interviews we did after the race at Ryan's on York on today, and then I think part two's on tomorrow. So have a listen to that. Uh, Mr.
• 8:57
Lunz made it into the picture with his, uh, his antics behind the ladies when we were doing the, that section of the show, so. Yeah. That's right. Yeah.
• 9:05
'Cause you wouldn't let me onto the radio, so I- Well, I did not let you onto the radio, but- I had to photobomb it. [laughs] All right, dude. [laughs] Well, um, we got another caller that's gonna tell us about an event.
• 9:15
You got anything you wanna leave us with before we cut you off and go to people more important than you? Um, no. Maybe, uh, are we riding New Year's Day? Oh, hell yeah. Oh, hell yeah.
• 9:26
The annual New Year's Day group ride. We're actually gonna talk about that later in the show, so we'll figure that out, but, uh, I think meeting at Nomad at 10:00-ish or 9:30 is probably the right thing to do.
• 9:34
They've got a pre- Right on. Yeah, I, I-... pre-jump in the lake thing... texted Chad the other day. He's, Chad said he's down for riding.
• 9:40
Um, I'll, I'll throw, I'll whip together a quick Facebook event or whatever and- Shut up, Randy... fool the masses, I guess. Yeah. [laughs] Exactly. Yeah, get that picture back out again, the annual use of the picture.
• 9:50
The an- annual use of picture, right. [laughs] Absolutely. I, I, I can put my, uh, my- All right, gentlemen, I gotta get back to dinner. All right... and I can put my X-ray of the, of the, uh- Bye...
• 9:59
plate, plate and, uh, seven screws in there. [laughs] Sorry, bye. All right. Yeah, for sure, actually. Yeah, right on. Wow. Hey, Dave Lunz, folks. Uh, boy, cracky.
• 10:08
Now that he's got a girlfriend, he's a little more of a, a little calmer, a little bit. [laughs] Just a little bit. [laughs] Oh, well. Uh- We'll see... let's take another call. Let's see what's going on.
• 10:18
There's, we got lots of calls today already, huh? Wow. Right. Welcome to the radio program, caller. Who do we have on the line? You've got Mike up in northern Wisconsin. Hey, Mike. How's it going? Hey, Mike.
• 10:32
Last week M- Mike- Good. Finally was able to connect with you guys... yeah, yeah, last week Mike had a Christmas party, so, uh, we kinda missed ya, but, um, caught up with you this week. Right on.
• 10:41
Um- Well, you made me ride fast for my fat bike run tonight just to get back in time. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. Excellent. Yeah, cool. So you guys got... You're in, are you in Saint Germain proper?
• 10:49
Or, or what city are you in? All right. I am, I personally reside between Eagle River and Saint Germain, um, but, uh, I'm part of a club based out of the Minocqua area called Lambo. Okay.
• 11:02
And we, we groom a couple trails up here for fat biking and do several fat or, uh, several fat bike oriented events every winter. Right on.
• 11:09
And the one, the one we're gonna talk about mostly tonight, the Fatathlon, that one will take place in Saint Germain, but it's between Eagle River and Saint Germain. It's where the trail's located. Okay.
• 11:21
Yeah, you said you got a ton of snow up there already, so this sounds like it's gonna be a- Well-... snowy event. Well, this winter started off where last winter ended.
• 11:32
Uh, we've got over two feet on the level already up here, and, uh, our, our grooming volunteers in our club have been busy for the last two weeks, and things have been really good this week though. Riding's been great.
• 11:44
Awesome. So, uh, tell us about the Fatathlon, the event that's coming up the m- the soonest, and then maybe we can just kinda get a quick rundown of what's happening later in the season.
• 11:56
Well, actually, um, if I can give a little plug to our club too, on, uh, December 26th at 6:00 at our zip line trails just south of Minocqua, we have, uh, Fat Bikes by Candlelight, which is a- Free demo event.
• 12:09
A big bonfire, hot chocolate, et cetera. Um, that's gonna be... That's actually our most current event that Lambeau is putting on. That's December 26. But the Fatathlon will also be demo, demos.
• 12:23
That takes place on January 4th, and that's, um, the biggest fundraiser for, uh, the Shannon Lake Trail System that we groom for fat biking, and that offsets all our grooming expenses for the year. All right.
• 12:33
That, that event will have a cross-country race, which is a combination of cornhole toss- Cornhole... for time bonuses. Oh, yeah, cornhole. [laughs] We- we're, we're Wisconsinites. [laughs] We eat cornhole beer and pep.
• 12:47
[laughs] Yeah, it's a great combination. You gotta do it all together. When, when you say demo, what, uh- It's, it's a lot of fun... when you say demo, what are you demoing? What kind of bikes?
• 12:55
I mean, obviously fat bikes, but what kind? Um, we... Well, we have several dealers coming.
• 13:00
We have, uh, Chequamegon Adventure Company out of Minocqua, uh, Bikes & Boards out of Rhinelander, and there's a couple more that haven't committed yet, but, uh, we have a full spectrum of manufacturers there.
• 13:10
There's fat bikes there for people to try for free. That part of the event will run from 11:00 AM till 4:00 in the afternoon.
• 13:18
But the race itself, registration's gonna be only on site from 8:00 to 9:30, with the race rolling at 10:00. Um, the, the format...
• 13:27
To, to, to finish your question about the format, though, um, before a racer goes out on the course, they're gonna be required to throw 10 beanbags, and with each hole that they make, they can win one minute time bonus.
• 13:40
When they... As soon as they cross the finish line after doing the 15K fat bike race, they can throw 10 more and win more time bonuses. Right on.
• 13:49
Um, it actually did, it actually did shuffle the results a little bit last year. [clears throat] Bumped my son from first to second in his class. Nice.
• 13:54
And I think there was one other class where, uh, second got relegated to third, so I mean, it was pretty neat. So, so first to cross the line doesn't necessarily win the prize. It, it...
• 14:04
You have to have the skill at the cornholing as well. Well, you know what?
• 14:08
I think it's a good way to level the playing field between some of the people that might be a little faster versus some of the ones that might be more skilled at s- you know, throwing cornhole. Yep. I dig it.
• 14:17
And, uh, it's- Sounds like a good plan... it, it's a lot of fun. It really is. It's g- I, I just stole the idea from the, uh, the sport of biathlon, and it's...
• 14:28
It was very well received the first year, and we're hoping that we can grow it this year. Sweet. And that's on the... That's on January 4th, right? That is on January 4th.
• 14:37
Um, the Lambeau riders have a Facebook page and also an internet page, and we have an event, um,
• 14:46
on both those pages, so if somebody wants to find out more information, uh, where exactly the location of the race is and the demos are, um, they're more than welcome to... more than welcome to come and check it out.
• 14:56
Yeah. The only thing that would possibly cancel that event would be rain, and if we have rain on January 4th, nobody's gonna wanna be there, so.
• 15:02
[laughs] Well, let's hope the weather holds out, and, uh, we'll put a link to the event page on our show notes, so if people wanna check it out, they'll be able to find it there. That would be great.
• 15:15
And then what do you have coming up later in the season?
• 15:18
Um, in the later part of the season, I, I don't have the exact date off the top of my head, but, uh, Lambeau also puts together a race called the Rip, Zip and Sip, which is a fat bike race
• 15:32
on the, uh, zip line trails south of Minocqua.
• 15:34
And, uh, we just recently expanded that trail system, uh, had a couple miles of, uh, machine-built trail put in, and we're grooming that for fat biking as well, berms, features, et cetera. And we're...
• 15:46
We haven't exactly determined yet the length of the race. We're still working out that course, but, uh, there'll be a shorter race and a longer race at that event, though. Nice. Yeah, I think, uh, grooming- Yeah...
• 15:57
some of the machine-built trails is really cool. I was in Stevens Point this past weekend and went to, uh, Standing Rock, where they have some... You know, they're a little bit lighter on the...
• 16:06
They're not super aggressive, but they were groomed, and they were fun. And I know they don't have as much snow as you, but it was still pretty sweet to be on some nice hard pack,
• 16:16
uh, trail with features and fun and berms, and it was, it was really groovy. It... We have a group ride at the zip trails tomorrow night at 6:30 south of Minocqua too, and the conditions right now are just...
• 16:30
They're excellent. And, uh, it's gonna get warm this weekend, which the afternoon riding will be horrible more than likely because s- I think it's just gonna take a toll on the trails.
• 16:40
Morning riding this weekend would probably be best, but if you're looking to see what the zip is all about, tomorrow night's gonna be a really good opportunity to see how it is when it's really excellent.
• 16:48
It's gonna be really fun tomorrow night. Cool. Does, uh... Does Lambeau have a, like, a, a number you can call to get trail conditions at the different places you guys are grooming? [laughs] A website? Uh, no, we don't.
• 16:59
But, uh... But you can... But, uh, through the Lambeau page, uh, Lamb- the Lambeau Riders Facebook page, they put constant updates about the conditions of the zip trails. Okay.
• 17:09
And on a page, on a page that I admin as kind of a side project with Lambeau called Northwoods Fat Bikers and Mountain Bikers, I put Shannon Lake Trail updates regularly. So those two sources are kinda connected, and
• 17:24
we're... Between myself and the admins on the, uh, Lambeau page, we're constantly updating our trail conditions. Great. Yeah, I'm gonna- So, I mean, when-... try and make it up there at some point... grooming people...
• 17:36
Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's, uh... You know, there's a lot to do up here. I mean, a, a person could make a weekend of riding up here just within a h- within a half hour of Minocqua proper, you have five or six groomed trails.
• 17:47
Couple down in Rhinelander. You have Windman North up in Mattawi Waters.
• 17:52
Uh, actually, Lambeau does groom another trail called Schleck Lake, but that's groomed for cross-country skiing, but fat bikes are also allowed in the skate lane. Hmm. And that's right across the street from the zip.
• 18:01
So we actually have three trails we groom for fat biking. Awesome. It's- That's pretty cool. Right on, Mike... yeah. And, and the Schleck, the Schleck Lake conditions are also on the Lambeau page too.
• 18:10
Those updates are always there. Sweet. Cool. Well, thank- thanks for filling us in about that. Yeah.
• 18:15
I definitely wanna get up there when we don't have conflicting events going on at other places, but there will be time this winter. Just gotta make sure that the conditions are worth the drive from Milwaukee, so. Yeah.
• 18:26
Yeah, and that's, and, and I would strongly suggest you follow those pages. If you're gonna come that far to, to, to travel up here, you know, we're honest about our conditions. If they're not good, we're gonna tell you.
• 18:36
You know, we've... If they're, if they're excellent, they're gonna be excellent. You know, what we report is what they are. Sweet. And, um, um, can I...
• 18:44
Do you mind if I just tell people that the race registration fee's only $25? Yes. [laughs] And like I said, it just, it, it goes... Yeah. It's $25.
• 18:53
It goes, it directly offsets trail maintenance for our fat bike grooming, and actually will go toward trail construction at our trail systems. Very good. Cool. So I mean, it's... Yeah.
• 19:04
Our, our club is very active up here right now, and a great group of people getting a lot done, so. All right, man. Excellent. But yeah, we'd love to have people come up. Sweet. Help us break our goal. Okay, Mike.
• 19:15
Well, thanks for the call, and, uh, we'll look forward to seeing you later in the season. Great. Thanks very much for having me on, you guys. I appreciate it. Have a great one. Bye bye. Have a good night.
• 19:26
Holy free holy, folks. Man. Mike from up there, St. Germain, uh- It's a beautiful country up there... Minocqua, Rhinelander area, says right now is the time to be up there.
• 19:34
And, uh, I dunno if anybody can get away from work this week and take a little quick trip for a couple of days, but maybe hit those trails before it starts to warm up again. I know who can't, Mike and Berta. Yeah.
• 19:45
[laughs] Or they're in, where? Thailand or- They're in Thailand right now, I think. Thailand, yeah. Yeah, Bangkok. All right. You had to say that, didn't you?
• 19:52
[laughs] Hey, we're, we're just gonna keep the hits rolling with, uh, with, uh, talky talk with, uh, people calling into the show today. Do, do, do, do, do. Pushing some buttons. Push...
• 20:04
We got a, we got a two for one deal here right now, folks. Ladies and gentlemen, w- w- welcome to the radio program callers. Who do we have on the line? Mr. Chris Daisy, Esquire of Zion Cyclery. Right on. Whoa.
• 20:16
Wow, Chris. And caller number two, please tell us who you are and why you're calling. Uh, caller two. Caller two. Stage right. Stage right. [click] Oh. Uh. Hang up. Uh, uh. Um, well, Chris, c- get us- [laughs]
• 20:33
Get us started. I don't know if Gomez called in or, or not, but, uh. Okay. Uh, yeah, what'd you guys wanna talk about? The, uh, upcoming event, I assume. Well- How was your last weekend event?...
• 20:43
I just wanna know how you're feeling. Are you feeling well today? Is everything going fine with you? What's happening? What are you wearing? Oh, I'm peachy, man.
• 20:50
I'm sitting on my couch drinking a hard seltzer, 'cause that's what's trendy now. [laughs] Right on. [laughs] Excellent. Yeah, we did wanna have you call in and talk- Hello? There he is. Hello. That...
• 21:03
Where, where have you been? How have you been? I was just taking a shit. [laughs] Uh, you guys, so you guys have an event coming up here. [laughs] Sorry, everybody.
• 21:13
Fatter By the Lake, coming up, uh, s- third, fourth, and fifth of January. That's what we're here to talk about, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
• 21:21
So go ahead and give us the rippy rundown on what's actually planned so far, 'cause I know there's still a bunch of stuff in the works. Yeah.
• 21:29
So, so far we've got nailed down is a Friday night, uh, welcome party at the Hotel, uh, Grand Vista Ballroom. Uh, we're gonna do some live podcasting, probably with some live music from my band in between segments.
• 21:46
Uh, I think we've got a really cool Manitou Mastodon limited edition Pro 2, uh, raffle away. Is that the red one? And, uh... Yeah. No, it's not red. It's a black one, but it's- Ah... pretty slick.
• 22:00
It's at the shop right now, and, uh, yeah, if it wasn't for someone else- All I gotta say-... I'd put it on my bike...
• 22:05
about the raffle, dude, is you have to actually raffle this prize off instead of just giving it to the first two people that pretend that they're gonna have a dance. Those two women stole those tires.
• 22:21
[laughs] That is like, that is grand larceny. They were dancing dreams, man. $500 worth of tires. Those ladies danced like there was no tomorrow. You know- Rules kinda get loose... you can't...
• 22:33
Rules get a little loose at the Funduro sometimes- [laughs]... and, uh, we have a hard time sticking to them. [laughs] Well, maybe, maybe then we need to put somebody [laughs] else in charge of raffling this stuff off.
• 22:48
You just- That's probably a good idea... literally let those two chicks take those tires. [laughs] Well, they are participants- Next thing I know they're, like, walking around the alley, "I won these tires."
• 22:59
[laughs] No, you stole those tires. [laughs] Well, the moral of the story is if you're a crafty person, you might be able to come away with fabulous prizes- [laughs] Yeah, well, we-... at Funduro.
• 23:10
Or if you hold on faithfully to your raffle ticket, you might as well just burn it. [laughs] Oh, uh, yeah. That's a, this has been all about things- It'll end, wind up in the right hands...
• 23:22
this show has been all about things not ending up where they're supposed to. Everybody has the same chance. Right. [laughs] Yeah. Um- So anyway, so what, what is retail on a Manitou fork? I wanna know.
• 23:34
[laughs] I wanna know. 600 bucks, isn't it? I wanna know whether the... Yeah, probably 600 bucks. Yikes. Wow.
• 23:40
And the raff- what's the raffle fundage gonna fund if, if people actually pay money for tickets and have an actual opportunity to win? I think all you have to do is show up is...
• 23:49
I think all you have to do is show up to get one ticket, and then, I don't know. Well, I think we can either...
• 23:54
Uh, I, I suggest that maybe, uh, raising some money for a nice little charity, that, uh, people always like to contribute to that sort of thing. So- Yeah, the Gr-...
• 24:02
we could find- The Greg Smith needs a new bike fund or... Yeah. Tony's got a boy at home fund. Yeah. Nothing [laughs] pretty fun.
• 24:09
Yeah, well, if you, if you take people's, if you take people's money, dude, you better damn sure make sure that you're not giving it to the first two chicks that dance. [laughs] What about the second two chicks?
• 24:23
Well, we did not take any money for those last raffle, in fairness. They were pretty much open- No, no, no... open to all Somebody gave us 500 bucks worth of tires. Yeah. 500 bucks.
• 24:35
They're being used by, uh, some cool chicks probably by now. Yeah. So, that's, uh, works out in the end. [laughs] Do you need, do you need a toothpick? [laughs] 'Cause they seem to have our cross stuck in their teeth.
• 24:44
I don't know, man. It worked out for those two chicks. Dude, now they have everybody else- There's little, there's little pieces, buddy. Talk about-... that was there...
• 24:49
cotton, cotton mouth Maybe we should find out if they're using it on the front or rear wheel. [laughs] Yeah, that's a whole lot of talking going on once. Anyway, that's what happened at the last one.
• 24:57
Let's, let's talk more about the, the future one. Sounds like a good plan. Uh, Saturday, we've got the- [laughs]... race number three of the Huge Ass Series, which is very exciting. We'll be running- Huge Ass...
• 25:07
through the campground at, uh, Illinois Beach State Park. Uh, and then I believe there's a little after party soiree, uh, to celebrate, uh, that race.
• 25:18
And, uh, I think talk of a little evening cruise up to Harbor Brewery might be in action. That was a good place last time. And then on Sunday- Yeah, it was a delicious brewery...
• 25:26
we do our traditional tacos and riding around, uh, Zion Cyclery way. Oh, yeah.
• 25:31
So does the- Charlie Bikes wants to sponsor the, uh, trip to the beer brewery, and he wants to give away, uh, like wheel sets and have a, another skid contest. Probably another- Ooh... flaming skid contest.
• 25:44
Uh- Are you gonna raffle them or can we just dance for them? Yeah. We can totally do it. So don't stir the pot over there, Mr. Man. [laughs] Uh, here's, here's something we might consider. Uh,
• 25:56
the Pugsley World Championship Axe is now back in Milwaukee after having gone up to Manitowoc and, uh, it came back to Milwaukee again because, uh, there was an idea that maybe we do some kind of PWC sort of event at, uh, this Fatter By The Lake
• 26:13
thing coming up, and get a new Pugsley World Champion, uh, event going on. What do you guys think of that? What kind of, uh... What does it take to win a Battle Axe? Well, having never won it, I couldn't tell you.
• 26:29
But, uh, basically the, the- [laughs] Feats of strength... the previous format, which started in 2011, was do a race and then, uh, the axe was actually awarded for all the shenanigans that happened after the event.
• 26:41
And it was sort of a, I don't know if Chewy picked it or, you know, Spinner picks it, or it's sort of like that guy or that gal was the coolest at this event.
• 26:49
They had the most fun and they deserve the axe for a year, and then they bring it back the next year. Ah. And, uh, kinda keep the tradition going. It got derailed a little bit
• 26:58
for the last year or two because the PWC hasn't happened in the car in a few years, but, uh, the axe is up for grabs and we... If it doesn't happen at Fatter By The Lake, it's gonna happen somewhere this winter, so.
• 27:11
Oh, we should totally make that happen. I think it can be a, uh, Saturday evening, uh, you know, maybe before we depart on any sort of riding, uh, we could have some contests or something.
• 27:21
I'm gonna suggest it's after the riding. Yeah. I think probably, you know- It's not before the riding... after the, uh- It's after... yeah. You must, you must be out all night.
• 27:28
You must, uh, probably be past midnight before you're gonna get awarded that axe. So it wouldn't happen before, but definitely happen at the- Oh, I see... the burn pit after- Oh, I got you...
• 27:37
or the, uh, you know, I don't know. You have to wrestle Spinner or something. I have no idea what it takes to win it this year.
• 27:43
[laughs] 'Cause that's something that we haven't planned yet, but I'm just saying this is, this is gonna be, uh- Okay.
• 27:48
I, I would, I would suggest that if you wanna win the PWC, you kinda make sure that you're there Saturday night. Let's, let's sort of pencil that in. And if it doesn't happen, you know what? You're still gonna have fun.
• 27:57
Don't worry about it. Don't web. Oh, yeah. It's, a- as, as our audience can hear, there's gonna be tons of, uh, surprises, uh, because we haven't planned them yet. [laughs] Surprise.
• 28:08
Yeah, we're at your room selected at the hotel. That's what we were calling in to talk about, uh- I would imagine... about what Greg was going to do with the, uh, podcast show on Friday.
• 28:18
I thought that's why we were calling. Uh- Okay. We can-... we're, we're gonna have a show so far. We're gonna have music and people on the show.
• 28:27
I don't have any specific guests lined up right this second, but, uh, it is a live podcast at the party on Friday night. I think showtime is gonna start at 7:00, like most of our shows do. And,
• 28:40
um, the basic format is to have your, uh, your podcast hosts, uh, kinda do a little jibber jabber and get some guests there, and have Mr. Chris Daisy and his band do some music and such. Yes.
• 28:53
It's like this, but you have to look at us. So far, so far this weekend sounds fantastic. [laughs] Eh, you'd be surprised.
• 29:03
You know, you get a whirlwind of, uh, good time people together and, uh, y- you don't need the most solid of plans to have fun. I've, uh, I've learned that in life. This is, this is true.
• 29:12
A- as, as- But there's always the, uh, there's always the snow crown race up, [laughs] up in, uh, in Ishpeming. Well, there's- If you- Yeah, there's also the Fatathlon up in St.- Do they have a plan?
• 29:24
[laughs] Well, the f- [laughs] They're going down the line. Hey, when somebody throws it on your lap a week ago, sometimes you just don't have time, all right? Don't worry about it. It'd be fine.
• 29:32
[laughs] Could be the same weekend as Frostbite. It'll be fine. Yeah, you got the Fatathlon, too. Frost- If you don't wanna come to this thing, go somewhere else. I don't give a- I feel, I feel tons better now.
• 29:41
I've been told that not to worry about it, and everything's gonna be fine. Always does. I guess my work is done here. It's fine. [laughs] Everything is fine.
• 29:50
Hey, hey, hey Gomez, guess what we got going on here in Milwaukee tonight? We have a screening of, uh, I Just Want To Ride, the Lael Wilcox film. It's right down the street, so- Oh.
• 30:02
I'm wondering, uh, I wonder if Jay Petervary's gonna be there seeing it. I'm not sure. That's way better than what I was gonna guess. [laughs] Uh, right on. Well, I'm, I'm actually in, in Iowa City. Are you?
• 30:18
Sitting in a parking lot waiting to, uh, hook up with Mr. Adam Blake, so- Nice... I just have a little bit of news that, uh, there's a new, gonna be a new podcast.
• 30:28
It's gonna be an interview show- Where Adam Blake interviews people. Where Adam Blake has the, uh, New Bike Podcast with a G, GNU. There you go. We- That's the scoop... GNU?
• 30:40
Get an- De, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, dink, dink, dink... Aaron GNU and the Time Warp Tube. So, uh, you guys feel free to talk amongst yourselves and figure out what's, what's going on.
• 30:50
It's gonna be a good time. These guys know what they're doing. You know, as much as I make fun and say- [laughs]... you know, not to worry, but- Everything's fine...
• 30:59
I mean, they have a proven track record of, you know, how many podcasts? You're on your, like, 38th or something. 30, 39th for this particular show. This is way over 200 for shows I've done. 39th. Way to go. I, uh, so.
• 31:12
That's like a, that's a, that's a lucky number right there. Yeah, man. Yeah. All right, Gomez. Well, say, say- All right. Give our best, Adam... say a shout- Hope it helps... say a shout howdy to, uh, Mr.
• 31:22
Adam Blake, and, uh, wish him good luck. And tell him, "Be consistent with your time," you know? Don't, don't start a podcast and then not do one for three months. So just get, get people to expect it- [laughs]...
• 31:32
at a certain time of the month or the week, and keep doing it. That's what she said. [laughs] All right, Chris. Mr. Gomez, after- Yes, sir... after ripping you a new asshole, uh, is now off the phone.
• 31:43
[laughs] He d- he does this before every event, and then he calms down and everything's fine. [laughs] Oh, yeah. It's fine with me. I kinda remember that from some of the ear- It sounds fun...
• 31:51
some of the very early events that we did with, together. [laughs] Um, yeah. Um- No, this isn't our first party we've thrown, so we, you know, we know how to, uh, kinda keep the shuffling going.
• 32:03
I mean, a, a couple notes, though, about the event, uh, this time around. Uh, the water level in Lake Michigan is ridiculously high right now. Oh, yeah.
• 32:12
And so the south beach that we've been very accustomed to riding on is currently going to be off limits. No doubt. Yeah.
• 32:18
Uh, there's just not e- there's not enough beach for us to really be kinda riding on that they're comfortable with currently, because it is a very, very protected area. Mm-hmm.
• 32:27
Uh, it's a nature preserve, and we're getting dangerously close to all the stuff they wanna kinda protect. So- Seems legit... in time that might work itself out.
• 32:36
I've been in meetings with the DNR to talk about that sorta thing. But we have the whole run of the rest of the park.
• 32:41
We've got all the bike trails, and we've even got some permission to do some snow grooming should that come to fruition.
• 32:48
So if we get some snow, we might have some freshly cool groomed trails out there to play on as well- Right on. Nice... at the race course. All right. So- So does the actual- Yeah...
• 32:56
does the, does the Huge Ass course, uh, use any beach at all? Or is that all on campground trails and whatnot? There is a small section that we might incorporate.
• 33:04
Um, I'm not exactly in charge of doing the design layout of the track this year, but, uh... Or any year. [laughs] It's not my race. [laughs] But- Right. That's, uh, well, that's those other guys. Yeah.
• 33:16
Uh, there are some sections where we could utilize some sand. Uh, there's a lot of really cool sort of nature-y stuff we can roll through in the campground, uh, some fire pits we can light. Um, generally fun.
• 33:28
It's gonna be a flat and fast course. Uh, it's not real hilly down there by the lake course, but, uh, yeah, it'll be cool. What's your- It'll be a real good time... what's your feeling for how long the laps are gonna be?
• 33:37
Are they gonna be, like, a mile and a half-ish or a mile laps or are they gonna be longer than that? Ooh, that again, uh, that's tough to say. Well, I'll get back. We have a lot of room.
• 33:45
I mean, you can really kind of, uh, work your way and wind around, up and down through the campground. So they've got the flexibility to do probably a mile and up to three or, uh, who knows?
• 33:57
[laughs] Again, not my, uh, not my layout, but- [laughs]... uh, the, uh, Huge Ass people always do a great job of, uh, setting up a course, so I'm sure it's not gonna disappoint. Right on. Cool.
• 34:08
Um, well, it sounds to me like a fun weekend even though it's not completely, totally scripted out just yet. Should be.
• 34:16
[laughs] Well, you know, the, we, we, we know that the basic things are giant race, lots of parties, couple of group rides, a podcast. Dancing ladies. What more do you need? Yeah. Yeah. And hot dogs.
• 34:29
An enor- And, you know-... an enormous pool with, like, a lot of jungle life in it. Yeah. Yeah. Olympic size. Followed up with a ti- the world's smallest hot tub. Yes, that overflows insanely.
• 34:40
[laughs] As everyone's marinating their marinades in there. Yeah. [laughs] Right on. All right, Chris. Well, we'll make it, we'll make it work. You know how we are.
• 34:50
Uh, oh, all you need is the fun people to have a good time. And if people are listening- And we get that in spades... if people are listening to this that weren't at the last one, those tacos. Mm-hmm.
• 35:00
Those tacos were outstanding. Yeah. We're pretty, uh, lucky to have that joint right next to our bike shop. Yeah, no duh. I'd say. [laughs] Uh, yeah, and I totally was like...
• 35:11
I, I remember the first, like, two times going down to your shop, and it was, like, forest for trees. I did not even notice it until, like, the third visit that they were right next door. [laughs] Yeah. No doubt.
• 35:23
No doubt. I was like, "Oh, hell. What am I doing?" All right, Chris. Me going to damn White Castle on the way in there getting full. [laughs] Well, thanks for the call, buddy. We'll, we'll talk.
• 35:33
We'll, we're gonna- For sure, man... we're gonna have to do some, we're gonna have to make some Gomez happy and going on between now and the shipment, so. [laughs] We'll, we'll talk soon, buddy. We'll, we'll get that,
• 35:41
we'll, we'll get those Google Docs written. We'll be okay. Yeah, I, I started it when I shared it with you, so. All right. Just start, just start tapping away. Sweet. All right, buddy. Thank you. [laughs] All right, bro.
• 35:49
Bye. See you later. Bye. I know it's a little late in the show, but- [bell ringing] Top of the hill... we're about to bottom the hill. We do have to talk about beer still. Always fun to talk about beers.
• 36:01
Um- This beer comes all the way from Seattle, Washington... notwithstanding we haven't had the cheese and sausage that I promised you yet. Yeah, I'd say. We're gonna have to do that.
• 36:10
[laughs] Just waiting for some freaking cheese and sausage to go with these beers. So what the... It's, uh... How do you say this? The Elysian. Elysian Dayglow. Dayglow IPA. IPA. Picked solely for the label.
• 36:21
It is a kickass tiger with laser eyes label. Yeah. You know, they're, they're taking a cue, I think, from one of our favorite breweries to pull that off. That said, it's a really pretty tasty beer.
• 36:31
  It, it's, it's full-bodied, that's for damn sure.
• 36:33
Uh, it- Dayglow crashes the party with the juicy beat of hops, dripping with tropical sunshiny mosaic and sparkling with touches of El Dorado and Centennial Moistly It, it's good.
• 36:46
It is a wheat-derived, uh, boozaholiness- Yeah... a little bit. And it, what does it clock in at? Six point something or other? 7.2? 7.4 I think. 7 point- 7.4 7.4. Yeah. For crying out loud.
• 36:59
This is- No wonder we're- This is some rocket shit. It's like- No wonder we're into- Yeah, Atlanta's moist set... banana land already.
• 37:03
[laughs] Uh, well, well you guys just chat amongst yourselves, and I'm gonna go get that cheese and sausage right over here. All right.
• 37:09
[laughs] Yes, we have, uh, gone all the way out to the West Coast for tonight's beer. It's, uh- Uh, yeah. Yeah I was trying to figure out where. Yep. And I can't read. They're in Seattle. Ah, very good.
• 37:21
Beautiful Seattle. Shout out to my buddy Kyle, if he's listening or on Friday. The Elysian Fields. The Elysian Fields of Dayglow IPA. Yes. The world of the afterlife- You know...
• 37:33
a very idyllic vision from Greek mythology and religious subtlety. It has a persistent beat of hops. All right, so cut that box open so we got some sort of thing to cut. Here's some cheese.
• 37:46
So okay, so this cheese- Cut the cheese... is, uh, farmer-owned from Westby, Wisconsin. Westby. And then this- Where's that?
• 37:53
Well, it's probably out near La Crosse because these are courtesy of Wyatt from Wyatt Cycles- Nice... which we are now officially, with the, with the new Wyatts in the shop, a Wyatt dealer. Right on. LA to four.
• 38:05
One of four. And folks, folks, there's really two, 'cause the only two have ordered bikes so far. The other- Ah... the other two shops still have to order- Ah... and they gotta get on the stick.
• 38:13
So we're number, number dos? We're number two, man. Uh, by one day too because, uh, Nick from, uh, the Stash shop up in Eau Claire, he was there the day before picking up his bikes. [laughs] Oh.
• 38:23
I'm like, "Doh, we could've been number one." [laughs] We're number one. Hey, folks, uh, Wyatt makes these freaking bikes right here in Wisconsin, the good old US of A. Yeah.
• 38:32
And, uh, believe it or not, a comparably specced Wyatt to a big box bra- or big brand bike like, uh, your Ts and your Ss, very similar prices.
• 38:42
You're not paying a double the price premium for getting made in the USA quality. Right. So- And they're-... come, come by and check 'em out. We got a couple bikes here. I got one with the Wren inverted suspension.
• 38:52
We got, uh... Yeah, it's good stuff. Oh. I- they're definitely good-looking. Oh. That's for sure, and there's plenty of clearance clearance. Those tires are fitting with plenty of space, and you know.
• 39:03
I'll throw a picture of one that he had set up in the showroom that has the two XL, the biggest fat bike tire you can buy, plenty of clearance. Wow. Should be fantastico.
• 39:14
I'm looking forward to test driving one of these bad boys. Yeah. Not gonna lie. [burps] Excuse me.
• 39:19
A couple years ago, uh, I went up to La Crosse, and it was just happenstance that they, "Oh, hey, there's a fat bike race in the park." And- Yeah. There's Wyatt... between... Yeah, yeah, exactly.
• 39:33
Wyatt, they had a good fleet there for loan or rental. Uh, beer by bike brigade. Nice. That's a good, that's a good, uh, good crew. Mario out there. Keep up in, gotta keep up to speed with those guys.
• 39:51
It's like, ugh. And Robbie from, uh, Cooley Bike Shop up there. Mm-hmm. Oh, my.
• 39:57
Yeah, he runs into Milwaukee on occasion, which always throws me off, 'cause I'm like, I don't rec- uh, I'm supposed to see you in La Crosse. [laughs] Right. What are you doing on Brady Street? Whoa.
• 40:06
I'm gonna be quiet for a little while. This is delicious. [laughs] My mom always told me, "Don't chew with mouth full." [laughs] Don't chew with your mouthful? Mm-hmm. Oh yeah, that's what I meant.
• 40:18
You know what I'm talking about. [laughs] My mom. I was just talking out loud. Mm. Yes. Yeah. This is, uh- That's what you do, talk out loud Whoa... you think. This is summer sausage. Uh-huh.
• 40:29
Mm, I'm feeling warmer, like it's summer already. Mm. Sausage. Sausages. Um, so yeah, we got the Wyatt thing.
• 40:36
He- Wyatt moved his, um, actual production facility just outside of, uh, La Crosse into a little town called Bangor. Bangor.
• 40:44
Which is, like, three blocks from the place that mach- it machines all the machined parts, the yokes and the, and the parts that make the bike go together where the tubes aren't. Mm. And, uh, it's really a cool place.
• 40:54
He's done a nice job of getting it dialed in, and we'll have some pictures in the show notes, 'cause I think it's worth seeing. And we'll have Wyatt on the show here soon.
• 41:03
I don't know exactly when yet, but you know, maybe I can get that on the calendar. And then if Gomez asks me, I'll know when it is. Well, uh, shout out to his brother-in-law, who I worked with at Spike Brewing.
• 41:14
For Wyatt? Yeah. Nice. Wyatt's brother-in-law. Yeah, he's been around. He used to work with George from, uh, Broken Spoke and- Nice, nice... I don't know if he grew up in Manitowoc, but he's from up that way. Nice.
• 41:24
Or was. Manitowoc. Mm. Gonna be cutting some cheese. Hm. [laughs] Liter- That's fine... literally. That's always funny. Here it comes. Oh, yeah.
• 41:35
I'm, I, I think I said this last week, but I'm still gonna s- bring it up once again, but baby farts are really funny. [laughs] Just kidding. All farts are funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 41:45
Yeah, why do you have to put baby in front of that? Nice boys. Far- farts are funny. Let it, let it, Kenny says, "Farts are funny." Oh. Why, but- That's a Texas size 10-4... but [laughs] All right.
• 41:56
In, in, in the, uh, words of a local Frenchman, "Why, why would you fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it?" [laughs] That's a terrible way to put it. I know.
• 42:11
So, um, what do you guys think of this idea of starting a Wednesday night ride after the show? I like the sound of it. This is, this is sort of a Zito-prompted idea- Mm-hmm... after our excellent, extremely awesome,
• 42:24
uh, Thursday night ride last week with Aaron. This i- That was an incredible ride...
• 42:28
this idea of just, you know, cutting the show off by 8:00, and we'll get out of the shop, and, uh, just going a little further afield than the four blocks we normally go [laughs] to the local pubbery. Right, right, man.
• 42:39
But there's jerky in four blocks. Well, that's true Actually, it's only two. [laughs] I did stop at, I did stop at Helds this week too.
• 42:46
I was on my way up to Steven's Point and stopped by Helds, which I neglected to bring here, but- What'd you get? Um, original jerky and honey barbecue. Oh, yeah.
• 42:59
Helds, man, if you guys don't know about Helds, they are not to be messed with. They make a fine, fine sausage. Sausage. Yeah. Sausages and jerkies. Zes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
• 43:10
So I don't know, I think we covered most of the stuff on the list, even if we didn't hit it super hard, except for the shotgun herb chamber. Have you guys seen that thing yet? No.
• 43:19
It's a stem cap that has a one-hitter and a little place to put your weed in it. Huh. And it goes- For those people in Illinois where you can do that legally? For y- wherever. I don't know.
• 43:32
If you could do it legally- It looks really cool though... you could brandish it like fricking Mad Max style. [laughs] Could there be some sort of link on the- Yeah... the notes for that? I ought to check that out.
• 43:41
We kinda need to check it out. Yeah. What else we got on here that we haven't talked about? Oh, some events coming up.
• 43:47
We talked about this thing that's happening tonight, which you won't be able to see since it was yesterday. Mm-hmm. Two days ago. Or two days ago.
• 43:53
Um, but Santasy, a River West holiday street party, is also coming up on- Sat- Saturday... tomorrow. Tomorrow at Get the Gathering Place, where there's a bunch of lit up Santas and lit up people and stuff.
• 44:05
Oh, that's right. Yeah. [laughs] That was great. It came up on my- If, if the callers, uh, don't know- [laughs]... where Gathering Place is, it's, uh, Vienna and Fratney. Um, it's a fantastic brewery.
• 44:16
The, the interior's- [laughs]... beautiful, the beers are beautiful. Eh, servers may not be that beautiful, but that's 'cause I'm not into dudes. Right?
• 44:25
I j- something came up in the FacePlace talking about, and it was, like, from, like, nine years ago or something like that, and apparently it was a Santa rampage around this time about nine years ago.
• 44:36
And it was like, quote, like an overheard quote I had, and it was like, "It's not just about drunk Santas." [laughs] It's not? I'm like, well, yeah, no, it's not. I guess not. Yeah. So, um- The hell? What's the date?
• 44:51
The 11th of January is the big ass Brazen Dropout bike swap in Madison. Mm-hmm. Well, I think we've all been there. That's a good place to, to gather up some, some parts for your latest ride.
• 45:03
Uh, folks from several states around come and exhibit and show their wares and- We should talk about Everyday Cycle's having a table at the, uh, coming up, uh- Fuck that. I'm not giving those people 50% off nothing.
• 45:15
They can go to hell, hell, hell. All right. Oh. That's been said. [laughs] La- la- la. Or maybe I'll change my mind. I don't know. There we go. Oh, and well, speaking on the Polar,
• 45:30
Polar Da- Polar Dare, Polar Bear Day Plunge, yada, yada, yada, which is in a little bit, uh, little programming time logistic note, next week, Christmas. Yep. Oh, yes.
• 45:47
Next week after that, New Year's Day. Yeah, so what's Thursday? Is that a good day? I don't know. Not after Christmas. That'd be Christmas Day.
• 45:53
[laughs] No, the Thursday, I'm not sure if I can pull that one, but I'm not positive yet. I totally could. I, I, yeah. Well, if, if everybody's not here, we're still gonna do a show somehow or if, whatever.
• 46:03
I was just figuring I'm not gonna do it on Christmas Day. No, not Christmas Day. [laughs] Love you all out there, but I'd like to just lay back. [laughs] Just give me that day. So this is Christmas. Will you?
• 46:16
Get off me, you RVs. Yeah, whatever. RVs. [laughs] I suppose we're gonna be off the air for a minute or two, I guess, huh? Well, I think we could just do it on, you know- On location... Thursday. Or on location.
• 46:28
Or do it live on Friday. I don't know. Sure. We'll figure it out. Oh, yeah. Live on Friday. We'll see what happens. Might be fun too. Yeah. I don't know. I just wanted to throw it out there just to have a- A reminder...
• 46:38
yeah We don't, we don't... It's like riding every day. You don't wanna break the streak. Somehow you gotta make it work. Right. Right. I know that feeling. [laughs] As long as we can. What, what day are you on, Tony?
• 46:47
Uh, how many days have been there this year? I'm, I'm gonna admit, I'm just gonna tell you I missed one day on accident. Oh. Didn't you get it in at 11:59 or something?
• 46:55
No, that one I did make, but no, there was one day where I totally- Oh, no, no, where, where the ride back was after midnight. I carried that one over.
• 47:02
[laughs] But no, there was one day where I literally got up and I had to scour my brain, and I was laying in bed, and I was, like, laying there, and I just went, "Fuck." And Molly's like, "What?"
• 47:12
Like, "I'm pretty sure I forgot to ride my bike yesterday." [laughs] And she's like, "Big deal." Right. I did start pre this year. I did start riding, like, on the 26th just to give myself a little leeway.
• 47:24
It gives you some, that gives you some cushion days. So- Right... I still got two years left, so- In theory... it's a three-year- Well, and that, that's what I think... three years commitment.
• 47:31
I mean, I, I lo- I love the idea that you have on this, and I just, I can't... At times, where I'm just like, I just can't keep count, but I'm normally riding every day- Yeah... by default no matter what.
• 47:43
I mean, that's why the, the- So I can count on, like, to-... bike 100 days I think is a great idea for people that want to make that commitment. Yeah.
• 47:50
But I think us, all three of us for that matter, pretty much ride 100 days in a row every year of our lives. Right. You know? I mean, it's like, like, every year I can count on two hands how many times I missed. Right.
• 48:00
You know? And yeah, I mean, even when like, oh, I feel like, oh, well, whatever. Yeah, you know, provided I don't bust my junk. It's three blocks away. I can ride my bike. I don't have to drive.
• 48:08
Yeah, I have a, I have a- [laughs] Anyone that asks me to walk somewhere, I tell them it's a two block rule. [laughs] If I have to walk more than two blocks, I'm getting on a bike.
• 48:17
Yeah, so I don't want the, uh, shock- And that's why I have a plethora of bikes... I don't want the shock impact on my joints. You know, I have a plethora of bikes for a reason. Come on now.
• 48:22
I wanna, I wanna use these damn bikes. Molly makes me walk to bowling sometimes. Hell no. I'm like, that's the freaking Polish Falcon. Uh-uh. That's a long walk for me. That's a bike ride. That's a great bike ride. Yes.
• 48:34
And think of the beer there. Craziness. Craziness. And bowling. Walking, walking. I know. All that stress like a chump. Yeah. Hard on your feet. [laughs] Hard on your knees. Exactly. You could just be rolling there by.
• 48:45
I have weak ankles, to be fair. Ankles. To be fair. To be fair. All right. Um, I think most of this other stuff we can talk about later. All right. I think, uh- We've taken up a little of your time, kind listeners...
• 48:56
we'll, we'll, won't take up enough of your time. And, uh, looks like we'll be back sometime. Soon. Soon. In the next near future. Soon with tires. Stop in and see these whites. [upbeat music] Do it!
• 49:10
