- 0:46Speaker 1: that the ingrafted Word is able to save our souls.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And so there's a lot of Christians out there that
- 0:57Speaker 1: don't get in their Word regularly, and so we're here
- 0:59Speaker 1: to try to help you do that. Help you. This
- 1:03Speaker 1: is just a tool to bring you closer to God.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Make sure you bring your Bibles, your highlighters, and you
- 1:10Speaker 1: go even deeper into these topics. Then we go here
- 1:17Speaker 1: on the podcast because we're just here to help you
- 1:22Speaker 1: to get ushered into the presence of God. Amen. We

- 1:49Speaker 1: get some accountability. We share the Word of God, we

- 3:05Speaker 1: to seven streaming on our app. We have a radio network,
- 3:11Speaker 1: We have music for everyone. Of course, our main music
- 3:15Speaker 1: is Christian hip hop, but we have other genres as well,
- 3:19Speaker 1: because when you understand that hip hop is really destroying
- 3:23Speaker 1: our youth and young adults, the Word of God says
- 3:27Speaker 1: the power of life and death is in the tongue.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And so mainstream worldly hip hop is spreading poison to
- 3:40Speaker 1: our youth and young adults. I mean, it's evident. Everyone
- 3:43Speaker 1: sees it now. Everyone sees the Satanic rituals in the
- 3:47Speaker 1: Grammys and and all that stuff. You know what I mean,
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's in our movies, it's in the concerts. People are
- 3:53Speaker 1: going to concerts and getting demon possessed, and people know
- 3:57Speaker 1: it's in the atmosphere. But it's time to shine the
- 4:02Speaker 1: light even brighter in these dark days. So that's what
- 4:07Speaker 1: God has called us too. This is what you are
- 4:10Speaker 1: a part of. Join that community and also hit us
- 4:14Speaker 1: up on our website, hishtnation dot com. If you go
- 4:18Speaker 1: to the calendar, you'll see that each and every day
- 4:21Speaker 1: there's a different topic for our chat room. So you
- 4:25Speaker 1: can jump in there, jump on the topics. It is
- 4:28Speaker 1: something to keep us busy, something to keep us out
- 4:31Speaker 1: of the world. Right, let's fellowship, let's build this community.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Let's do this for Jesus.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yo.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Come on, we got a whole generation of people to reach,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and that is why we do what we do. Amen,
- 4:50Speaker 1: all right. That was the intro, we are diving into
- 4:55Speaker 1: a whole new book. If you've been following the podcast
- 5:00Speaker 1: we started in the Book of Revelation. That is the
- 5:03Speaker 1: book that is a part of my testimony. That is
- 5:07Speaker 1: a book that was taught to me, that brought me
- 5:11Speaker 1: into faith to believe in Jesus Christ. Because once I
- 5:14Speaker 1: heard about demons coming out of the abyss, stinging people,
- 5:18Speaker 1: water turning into blood, all that I mean, that is
- 5:21Speaker 1: all it took for me, you know what I mean,
- 5:24Speaker 1: to come to Christ. And so you can go to
- 5:28Speaker 1: our replay on the app. Just go to the top
- 5:32Speaker 1: left menu again and cook on podcasts and then cook
- 5:35Speaker 1: on my podcast, and then you can just go through
- 5:37Speaker 1: all the archives and if you want to go through
- 5:40Speaker 1: the Book of Revelation. When the second book we completed
- 5:44Speaker 1: was the Book of Romans. It's an amazing book. It
- 5:48Speaker 1: is the mount Everest of scriptures. If you need victory,
- 5:52Speaker 1: if you just that book changed my life, I ain't
- 5:54Speaker 1: gonna lie. It's worth it. Need to fall back and
- 5:58Speaker 1: just go through those books. And also, as I was
- 6:02Speaker 1: praying and asking the Holy Spirit, what book do you
- 6:05Speaker 1: want us to do next? At first I thought it
- 6:10Speaker 1: was the Book of John. I know I had a
- 6:11Speaker 1: Jay in it then the Book of James, but I
- 6:14Speaker 1: believe the Holy Spirit confirmed the Book of Jonah. We're
- 6:21Speaker 1: gonna start the Book of Jonah today. I'm gonna be transparent.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I believe in this book because God is gonna do
- 6:30Speaker 1: with me. I see a lot of me in Jonah.
- 6:33Speaker 1: And maybe so you got to find a book that
- 6:36Speaker 1: remind you. Find a prophet or someone a character in
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Word of God that dealt with the same things
- 6:43Speaker 1: that you've dealt with and see how they were able
- 6:46Speaker 1: to overcome and get the victory over it. A man, hallelujah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So this book, I'm gonna be selfish. Man, this book
- 6:53Speaker 1: is for me. I believe the Holy Spirit is gonna
- 6:56Speaker 1: work out some things in my own life. And hey,
- 6:59Speaker 1: if if you find that these things are relatable and
- 7:02Speaker 1: you might be struggling with these same things. We know.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Jonah was the prophet that ran from the call of God.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Jonah was a prophet, he had no love for the people.
- 7:13Speaker 1: He was called the minister to God had to discipline him.
- 7:16Speaker 1: There's a lot of things I see already where the
- 7:19Speaker 1: Holy Spirit is dealing with me. So amen, what I'll
- 7:25Speaker 1: invite you to do this is well, then examine your
- 7:31Speaker 1: heart and make the adjustments where the adjustments need to
- 7:34Speaker 1: be made. Hallelujah. Okay, let's go before our Father in
- 7:39Speaker 1: prayer and let's get into it. They believe Father. We
- 7:42Speaker 1: thank you Lord for your word, Oh God. Let us
- 7:46Speaker 1: not be those who neglect your word. Let us not
- 7:49Speaker 1: be those who neglect our prayer life, neglect our time
- 7:55Speaker 1: and intimacy with you God, and neglect our prayer closet. Lord,
- 8:00Speaker 1: help us God to develop these disciplines, to know that
- 8:03Speaker 1: this world, the busyness and as urgent as things may be,
- 8:08Speaker 1: as it seems like we're taking care of priorities and responsibilities,
- 8:13Speaker 1: Oh God, nothing is compared to the discipline of keeping
- 8:20Speaker 1: our relationship with You our number one priority, Oh God.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So help us, Lord, help us even to deal with
- 8:27Speaker 1: things through this book of Jonah. Let every here e're
- 8:32Speaker 1: hear it that is supposed to hear this message Father,
- 8:35Speaker 1: as it goes out. Father, on all these platforms, we
- 8:38Speaker 1: thank you mighty name of Jesus, and God's people said
- 8:43Speaker 1: amen and Amen. All right, Well, that hopefully got your Bible,
- 8:49Speaker 1: your highlighters, and your no paths. We're gonna be taking
- 8:52Speaker 1: notes we're gonna be breaking it down the book of Jonah.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So we're gonna take the first two verses, verse one
- 9:01Speaker 1: and verse two, and it says, now, the word of
- 9:08Speaker 1: the Lord came to Jonah, the son of Matiti. Not
- 9:14Speaker 1: sure who that is, but that was his dad. And
- 9:18Speaker 1: you're saying, arise, go to Nineveh, the great city, and
- 9:23Speaker 1: cry out against it. But their wickedness has come up
- 9:28Speaker 1: before me. All right, let's go ahead and break this
- 9:34Speaker 1: down a little bit. Now, Nineveh was the capital of Syria. Now,
- 9:45Speaker 1: the Assyrians was a brutal nation, very brutal known. They
- 9:52Speaker 1: were known for their brutality when they captured a different nation.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They were very violent. They were brutal. They will put
- 10:01Speaker 1: hooks in their noses and their tongues and their lips
- 10:05Speaker 1: and would force them to march across the land to
- 10:09Speaker 1: come to their place of captivity. That would cut off
- 10:13Speaker 1: body parts like they wear a brutal army. But this
- 10:20Speaker 1: also shows that God, in his mercy, he sent Jonah
- 10:25Speaker 1: to warn them instead of just immediately destroying the nation.
- 10:32Speaker 1: God has the power, he has the ability to just
- 10:35Speaker 1: destroy everything in one second if he wanted to. But
- 10:41Speaker 1: by his grace and his mercy. He warns us, warning
- 10:45Speaker 1: after warning. Amen. Now this shows us that God's heart
- 10:51Speaker 1: is always for repentance. Repentance is a gift people in hell.
- 10:59Speaker 1: There's billions of people in hell right now who wish
- 11:03Speaker 1: they had one more chance to repent. Repent is the
- 11:07Speaker 1: greatest gift to mankind from God. Amen. And this is
- 11:12Speaker 1: always his heart. He always wants repentance. He doesn't want destruction.
- 11:20Speaker 1: He doesn't want to destroy us. Like I said, he
- 11:23Speaker 1: can destroy us immediately without blinking an eye. God has
- 11:29Speaker 1: given us one more breath, one more day, one more
- 11:32Speaker 1: second to get it right with him. Now, right away
- 11:41Speaker 1: we see something we're gonna see that God calls Jonah
- 11:45Speaker 1: to do something that he doesn't want to do. Now,
- 11:48Speaker 1: how many times has God called and asked you to
- 11:52Speaker 1: step into a place that felt uncomfortable? God did not
- 11:57Speaker 1: call us to be comfortable, right, Maybe even a place
- 12:01Speaker 1: that is not safe. Maybe there's a little danger involved
- 12:06Speaker 1: in where He's called you to. Are you willing to go?
- 12:10Speaker 1: Are you willing to lay your life down? I'm thinking
- 12:13Speaker 1: about Charlie Kirk right. He was doing the will of
- 12:19Speaker 1: God and he gave his life for it. How many
- 12:24Speaker 1: more martyrs through history. Can we research and look up
- 12:29Speaker 1: who were doing the will of God? Are you willing?
- 12:32Speaker 1: Am I willing to give it all, even if it's
- 12:37Speaker 1: cost us our lives? Amen? But obedience to God is
- 12:43Speaker 1: more important than our comfort zone. Right, So let's read
- 12:53Speaker 1: in verse three it said, but Jonah arose to flee
- 12:59Speaker 1: to Tarsius from the presence of the Lord, when we
- 13:04Speaker 1: know we cannot run from his presence. Amen. He went
- 13:08Speaker 1: down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarsius,
- 13:13Speaker 1: so he paid the fare and went down into it
- 13:19Speaker 1: to go with them to Tarsius from the presence of God.
- 13:24Speaker 1: How many of us have foolishly tried to run from
- 13:29Speaker 1: the call of God in our lives. Right, we cannot
- 13:33Speaker 1: run from God's presence, But sometimes we lose our minds,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and I don't know we'd be going through things. But
- 13:44Speaker 1: Jonah's disobedience was very deliberate. He deliberately ran. He knew
- 13:51Speaker 1: what he was doing. And I can say that a
- 13:56Speaker 1: lot of areas of my life I've deliberately done things
- 14:00Speaker 1: knowing good and well, this is not the will of God,
- 14:04Speaker 1: this is not what God has called me to do. Right.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But he thought he could run from God but sin
- 14:15Speaker 1: always costs you. Jonnah paid the fair, but that ride
- 14:23Speaker 1: wasn't worth it. How many times have we paid for
- 14:28Speaker 1: our sins and found out later that it wasn't worth it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Sin will always take you further than you're willing to
- 14:38Speaker 1: go and cost you more than what you're willing to pay.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Is not good to play around with sin and run
- 14:49Speaker 1: from the presence of God. Now, notice it says he
- 14:52Speaker 1: went down. Every time we run from God, we do
- 14:58Speaker 1: not go up. Go down spiritually. Running from God will
- 15:04Speaker 1: always cost you more than obedience ever would. Let me
- 15:09Speaker 1: say that again, running from God will always cost you
- 15:14Speaker 1: more in obedience. Amen, Obedience is better than sacrifice. All right,
- 15:28Speaker 1: let's go. Let's go from verse four to verse six.
- 15:33Speaker 1: But the Lord sent out a great win on the sea,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so
- 15:43Speaker 1: that the ship was about to break up. But the
- 15:51Speaker 1: what is it my miners, mariners, I guess the people
- 15:59Speaker 1: in the ships. But the mariners were afraid m A
- 16:07Speaker 1: R I N E R myne nerves. I'm sorry, I'm this,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I know I'm butchering this. But anyway, the people in
- 16:16Speaker 1: the ship who owned the ship, they were afraid and
- 16:19Speaker 1: every man cried out to his god. Now everyone had
- 16:25Speaker 1: their own guy. Now notice it's a lower case G.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But these now these are experience. I imagine that these
- 16:33Speaker 1: people are experienced. Uh, salespeople, salesmen, right, But they were afraid,
- 16:43Speaker 1: and they cried out to their gods. And then threw
- 16:47Speaker 1: the cargo that was in the ship into the sea
- 16:51Speaker 1: to lighten the load. Jonah had gotten down into the
- 16:56Speaker 1: lowest parts of the ship, had laid down. It was
- 17:00Speaker 1: fast asleep. Now he was sleeping while all this chaos
- 17:04Speaker 1: was going on. So the captain came to him and
- 17:08Speaker 1: said to him, why what do you mean, sleeper? A rise?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Call on your God. Perhaps your God will consider us
- 17:19Speaker 1: so that we may not perish. Wow, this is amazing,
- 17:25Speaker 1: and I'm amazed that in this, in this the ancient times,
- 17:31Speaker 1: how people were more sensitive to the spiritual realm, how
- 17:35Speaker 1: they were more sensitive to crying out to their god.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Today nowadays, well, I guess you can still say it's
- 17:43Speaker 1: a god to it's a false god. But a lot
- 17:47Speaker 1: of people, you know, they put their faith in science,
- 17:49Speaker 1: they put their faith in technology. Today it's AI or
- 17:54Speaker 1: whatever they call out too, so that they can resolve
- 18:00Speaker 1: issues and problems. They think that these things and objects
- 18:05Speaker 1: will save them. The thing about it is that Jonah
- 18:10Speaker 1: knew the true and living God, so yes, he had
- 18:15Speaker 1: the right God to cry out to. But he's down
- 18:21Speaker 1: there sleep. And I was thinking about the cruise. I
- 18:26Speaker 1: just took a cruise, me and my wife, a carnival cruise,
- 18:30Speaker 1: and we were on the sea, and we were in
- 18:34Speaker 1: a part where it was just dark, like at the ship.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Would it just turned off all the lights? Like we
- 18:41Speaker 1: felt so small and so significant on that water. And
- 18:45Speaker 1: just imagine if the captain and all the crew were
- 18:48Speaker 1: just terrified out of their minds, you know what I mean,
- 18:52Speaker 1: if they are afraid of throwing things overboard. You know,
- 18:55Speaker 1: these are the people we expect to be professionals. You
- 18:59Speaker 1: know that they know how to navigate and handle these things.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And that's what I was thinking of when I was
- 19:04Speaker 1: reading this this verse real quick. But let's let's go
- 19:08Speaker 1: ahead and break it down.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Now.
- 19:11Speaker 1: The storm but one was sent by God the soul
- 19:17Speaker 1: the sellers are panicking, right, and Jonah was asleep. Now
- 19:23Speaker 1: Sometimes people, especially when you are blinded by your sin,
- 19:29Speaker 1: are spiritually asleep while the world around him is falling apart.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Sin will do that. Now, this is someone the mind
- 19:40Speaker 1: who's in a relationship with God. This is a prophet,
- 19:44Speaker 1: this is a saint, this is a born again Christian
- 19:48Speaker 1: that we can say if he was he was here today,
- 19:51Speaker 1: he would be a brother in church with sin in
- 19:54Speaker 1: his life. And now we're seeing the world around him
- 19:58Speaker 1: falling apart. Now, Jonah's running didn't just affect him, It
- 20:06Speaker 1: endangered everyone on that ship. Our disobedience affects others. Think
- 20:14Speaker 1: about that, when we choose to disobey God, it's not
- 20:19Speaker 1: just you that will be affected. You and I have
- 20:26Speaker 1: the ability to affect other people, bring them into our mess.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And this is sad, all right. And I'm just thinking
- 20:39Speaker 1: of like I said, I'm gonna be transparent. I'm dealing
- 20:43Speaker 1: with myself through this book. I know the Holy Spirit
- 20:47Speaker 1: its showing me things, and I'm just thinking about my past,
- 20:51Speaker 1: how my sins have affected my family members, my wife
- 20:57Speaker 1: and my children and the people in my life. It
- 21:01Speaker 1: could deal with them or even you know, other family
- 21:03Speaker 1: members do things that will affect us. And that's why
- 21:07Speaker 1: it's important to choose your friends wisely. You know, be
- 21:10Speaker 1: careful who you associate with because we can be affected. Amen,
- 21:18Speaker 1: now we're gonna go through seven through ten, seven through ten,
- 21:24Speaker 1: and they said to one another, come, let us cast
- 21:27Speaker 1: lots that we may know for whose cause this trouble
- 21:31Speaker 1: has come upon us. Now look at this, this is
- 21:33Speaker 1: by God. Like imagine if something happens if I was
- 21:38Speaker 1: on that cruise, I'm just I just took this cruise, right,
- 21:42Speaker 1: so now I'm just thinking about sailing on a ship
- 21:44Speaker 1: and all this stuff. Now, if something happened on that ship.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And then the captain said, Okay, we're gonna bring everybody
- 21:52Speaker 1: to the middle of the boat. We're gonna cast out
- 21:55Speaker 1: and find out who's the calls, who's the reason why
- 21:58Speaker 1: the ship is the got this storm and on the
- 22:01Speaker 1: going on on this ship. You know, that's that's kind
- 22:05Speaker 1: of like unthinkable, right, That's not something that you would
- 22:09Speaker 1: think that that would happen. But it's happening here in
- 22:13Speaker 1: this story. And I believe it's all orchestrated by God. Right,
- 22:17Speaker 1: God is dealing with this prophet. So they cast lots,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and the lot fell on Jonah. Then they said to him,
- 22:26Speaker 1: please tell us for whose cause is this trouble upon us?
- 22:31Speaker 1: What is your occupation? And where do you come from?
- 22:36Speaker 1: What is your country and what and of what people
- 22:42Speaker 1: are you? Now, these are some serious questions. Now, if
- 22:48Speaker 1: you have ever experienced a podcast, if you've ever hosted
- 22:52Speaker 1: one or been on one or been in an interview,
- 22:55Speaker 1: you know that they try to come up with some
- 22:57Speaker 1: great questions. Right, will send you the questions beforehand so
- 23:03Speaker 1: that you know and prepare yourself on what to answer
- 23:08Speaker 1: and things like that. Now, these are some very like
- 23:12Speaker 1: targeted questions. You know. They want to know his occupation
- 23:16Speaker 1: and where he came from, what country and all that,
- 23:20Speaker 1: and so he had to fess up. And so Jonah
- 23:23Speaker 1: said to them, I am a Hebrew, just like saying
- 23:26Speaker 1: that I'm a Christian. Right, I'm born again. I believe
- 23:29Speaker 1: in the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm a Hebrew, and I
- 23:33Speaker 1: fear the Lord God, the God of Heaven who made
- 23:37Speaker 1: this sea and the dry land. Wow, so they know, like, man,
- 23:44Speaker 1: that's huge. Now, a person mentioned to me that they
- 23:50Speaker 1: said they like my boldness when I talk about Christ,
- 23:53Speaker 1: like I don't hide my Christianity. You know, I speak
- 23:57Speaker 1: boldly about Jesus. A lot of people pulling in the community.
- 24:01Speaker 1: They know me as mister his hop that same I'm perfect,
- 24:04Speaker 1: you know, there's there's times when I wish I would
- 24:06Speaker 1: have spoken up, and I haven't. I'm not saying like
- 24:09Speaker 1: I'm this perfect figure or not. But but he you know,
- 24:13Speaker 1: he was running, he was trying to hide, and he
- 24:15Speaker 1: was like sleeping or whatever. But he had to confess
- 24:19Speaker 1: his true identity and who he really was. The verse ten,
- 24:23Speaker 1: it says, then the men were exceedingly afraid. Now this
- 24:26Speaker 1: really touched him. Right, they were afraid at first, but
- 24:32Speaker 1: now they're exceedingly afraid, and said to him, why have
- 24:37Speaker 1: you done this? Like they knew, they knew it, like
- 24:42Speaker 1: he's a guilty one. They knew that this was his
- 24:44Speaker 1: fault and they had to suffer the consequences of this man,
- 24:50Speaker 1: like why have you done this? And how many times
- 24:53Speaker 1: have we had unbelievers rebuke us? Right, I've had that
- 24:58Speaker 1: happen before. I mean times when we're trying to serve God,
- 25:02Speaker 1: we're trying to do the right thing, we get caught
- 25:05Speaker 1: up in something and even unbelievers will come up and
- 25:08Speaker 1: rebuke us and deal with our sin. This is straight sin,
- 25:13Speaker 1: a sinning prophet. Right, For the men knew that he
- 25:19Speaker 1: fled from the presence of the Lord because he had
- 25:23Speaker 1: told them. Wow, let's break all this down. That was
- 25:31Speaker 1: verse ten. Now Jonah admits that he is the cause, right,
- 25:40Speaker 1: honest confession is the first step to repent this. Amen.
- 25:45Speaker 1: So this is Jonah's first step back, right, his first step.
- 25:52Speaker 1: But even though Jonah knew the truth, but he was
- 25:57Speaker 1: not willing to be obedient. That's like many of us.
- 26:02Speaker 1: And that right there, I believe is where the Holy
- 26:05Speaker 1: Spirit is dealing with me. Amen. That's like many of us.
- 26:09Speaker 1: We get convicted, but we can still be stubborn. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: am still stubborn in different areas. Beloved, I will be transparent.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I ask for your prayers. I ask for your prayers.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I am convicted right here on the podcast. Thank you,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Holy Spirit. Yes, there's times when I'm in an uncomfortable spot.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm in a place where I have to completely just
- 26:38Speaker 1: trust in God, and it shows up in my finances.
- 26:43Speaker 1: This is the main area when I want to give
- 26:45Speaker 1: an offering or a tithe or something like that in
- 26:49Speaker 1: a Bill's do And I wish I could say every
- 26:52Speaker 1: time I've been faithful, I gave to God and you know,
- 26:56Speaker 1: and but I haven't been consistent in that, and I'm
- 27:04Speaker 1: just being you know, I'm repenting right now before y'all,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and being transparent. You know, I have a family, have
- 27:12Speaker 1: a big family. I want to be able to take
- 27:14Speaker 1: care of them and you know, and make sure all
- 27:17Speaker 1: the bills are good and stuff. But I have been
- 27:21Speaker 1: since the close of the club in twenty eighteen. I've
- 27:25Speaker 1: dealt with debt, I've dealt with other things so that
- 27:28Speaker 1: my financial journey has been rough. We have become a
- 27:32Speaker 1: nonprofit to kind of help offset the things of the ministry.
- 27:37Speaker 1: But I was doing it all myself. You know. I
- 27:39Speaker 1: had a partner that we shared expenses with. He ended
- 27:45Speaker 1: up stealing money from me. You know, I was in
- 27:48Speaker 1: a hole about twenty grand and it's been a challenge.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I know, it's been an attack. You know. I don't cry,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I don't complain. And the only reason why I'm talking
- 27:57Speaker 1: about it is because it's in the scripture. We go
- 28:00Speaker 1: verse by verse. You know, I feel the Holy Spirit
- 28:05Speaker 1: is releasing me to share this. So I'm just asking
- 28:09Speaker 1: for prayer that this cycle will break that I know
- 28:13Speaker 1: I know to give. I know I believe in it.
- 28:17Speaker 1: And there's been times that when I was obedient and
- 28:21Speaker 1: I did give that God provided God it will provide
- 28:24Speaker 1: but I just struggle with that sometimes. And I'm hoping
- 28:29Speaker 1: that through this podcast a lot of this will break
- 28:34Speaker 1: as we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. So amen,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I believe this right here is why the Holy Spirit
- 28:45Speaker 1: chose this book. All right, Let's go to verse eleven
- 28:50Speaker 1: through sixteen. Eleven through sixteen. Then they said to him,
- 28:58Speaker 1: what shall we do to you that the sea may
- 29:01Speaker 1: come for us? For the sea was growing more and
- 29:05Speaker 1: more temperess, Man, I can imagine that would be scary.
- 29:10Speaker 1: The water boy, water ain't no joke. And he said
- 29:15Speaker 1: to them, pick me up and throw me into the sea,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and the sea will come, will become calm for you.
- 29:24Speaker 1: For I know that this great tempest is because of me. Man,
- 29:30Speaker 1: how many of us have been there. I've been there.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I've known that situations has happened, either on my job
- 29:36Speaker 1: or in the community, or just in my family. I
- 29:43Speaker 1: know that I may be the cause. Like if I
- 29:46Speaker 1: was obedient, if I would have done what I was
- 29:48Speaker 1: supposed to do, this wouldn't even be here. You know.
- 29:53Speaker 1: God will chastise his people. God will chase in those
- 29:57Speaker 1: whom he loves. Nevertheless, the men rowed hard to return
- 30:11Speaker 1: to land, but they could not, for the sea continued
- 30:16Speaker 1: to grow more tempests against them. Therefore, they cried out
- 30:21Speaker 1: to the Lord and said, we pray, o, Lord, please
- 30:25Speaker 1: do not let us perish for this man's life. They
- 30:30Speaker 1: didn't want to do this. They wanted to row. They
- 30:33Speaker 1: wanted to try to save their lives and save the ship.
- 30:37Speaker 1: But they knew they couldn't go against it. So they
- 30:40Speaker 1: cried out to the Lord. Oh, that's wisdom that says,
- 30:43Speaker 1: do not charge us with innocent blood. For you, old Lord,
- 30:48Speaker 1: have done as it pleased you. So they picked up
- 30:53Speaker 1: Jonah and threw him into the sea, and the sea
- 30:57Speaker 1: ceased from its raging. And the men feared the Lord exceedingly. Wow,
- 31:04Speaker 1: there was a lot of fear going to These guys
- 31:06Speaker 1: are traumatized. I mean, it's not funny, but man, how
- 31:10Speaker 1: many times because it says that they their fear went
- 31:14Speaker 1: from one level to the next. Like, they feared the
- 31:16Speaker 1: Lord exceedingly and offered a sacrifice to the Lord and
- 31:23Speaker 1: took vows. Amen. Now the Lord had prepared a great
- 31:29Speaker 1: fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly
- 31:33Speaker 1: of the fish. Three days and three nights, God is
- 31:37Speaker 1: dealing with his prophet Amen. These men, they cried out
- 31:42Speaker 1: to the Lord, and they're like, do not charge us
- 31:45Speaker 1: with innocent blood. But look at what happened to them. Like,
- 31:49Speaker 1: they feared God and they took vows. Now, the Bible
- 31:54Speaker 1: tells us that the fear of the Lord is the
- 31:58Speaker 1: beginning of wisdom. Man is through the fear of the
- 32:02Speaker 1: Lord that men will depart from evil and wickedness. Amen. Now,
- 32:14Speaker 1: Jonah was thrown overboard, the storm was stopped, and the
- 32:18Speaker 1: sailors feared the Lord. Even in Jonah's disobedience, God still
- 32:25Speaker 1: got the glory out of it. Now, Family, even when
- 32:30Speaker 1: we fail, God can use our situation to draw others
- 32:36Speaker 1: to him. But that's not an excuse to run. It's
- 32:42Speaker 1: a warning for us to stop running. Amen. And we
- 32:47Speaker 1: know that what the enemy means for evil, God is
- 32:53Speaker 1: well able to turn it around for good, even when
- 32:57Speaker 1: it comes to the attacks of the enemy against our lives.
- 33:02Speaker 1: That's why when things happen, situations happen. Maybe you've lost
- 33:08Speaker 1: your job, or they're trying to come against you at work,
- 33:11Speaker 1: or maybe your ministry. They've trying to come against you,
- 33:14Speaker 1: things in your family and your home. You just have
- 33:19Speaker 1: one situation after another. Don't trip. And I'm speaking from experience.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I've experienced almost every area, attacks and challenges and discouragement,
- 33:33Speaker 1: like everything you can think of. I've experienced it, not everything,
- 33:39Speaker 1: but in all areas. And God has brought me through,
- 33:43Speaker 1: and He's promised that many are the afflictions of the righteous.
- 33:48Speaker 1: But the Lord will deliver us out of the mall.
- 33:51Speaker 1: That's why we can't allow it to go to heart.
- 33:53Speaker 1: We cannot allow it to discourage us. Yet it hurts,
- 33:56Speaker 1: it sucks, it doesn't feel good. But bring those emotions,
- 34:01Speaker 1: say for the Lord, and allow God to refresh us.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Allow God. Just know that this world is temporary. This
- 34:11Speaker 1: is not our home. And just know that if you
- 34:14Speaker 1: allow God to lead your life, it'll work out for
- 34:17Speaker 1: good towards an end. Right, it'll work out for good. Amen.
- 34:25Speaker 1: But in this situation, even what he went through and
- 34:32Speaker 1: brought these men to the Lord, Now the Lord had
- 34:36Speaker 1: prepared a great fish to swallow if Jonah, and Jonah
- 34:40Speaker 1: was in the belly of the fish three days and
- 34:42Speaker 1: three nights. Now, remember, in the Gospels, Jesus used this
- 34:48Speaker 1: as an illustration concerning his death and his resurrection. Remember
- 34:54Speaker 1: he was saying that this adulterous generation desires a sign
- 35:00Speaker 1: from God. But the only sign they're going to see
- 35:02Speaker 1: is the one of Jonah, the death, the burial and
- 35:07Speaker 1: resurrection of Christ. And as Jonah was in the belly
- 35:11Speaker 1: of the fish three days and three nights, but he
- 35:14Speaker 1: was spewed out, the fish spin him out. Now, God's
- 35:20Speaker 1: discipline wasn't Jonah's destruction. This fish was not the end
- 35:26Speaker 1: of him. It was not to end his life. Amen.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Thank God for his grace. But it was preparation. It
- 35:34Speaker 1: was God working on his prophet. Jonah's darkest place became
- 35:40Speaker 1: the place of his greatest testimony. Amen. Now we don't
- 35:47Speaker 1: know much about Jonah before this, and as we read
- 35:56Speaker 1: the book, we know that he did what God called
- 35:59Speaker 1: him the do. But I believe Jonah made it. I
- 36:05Speaker 1: believe that Jonah actually got right with the Lord even
- 36:08Speaker 1: though he had this issue to deal with, and I
- 36:14Speaker 1: believe that God was able to use him. So staying courage.
- 36:19Speaker 1: If you're struggling in the area, if you know that
- 36:25Speaker 1: God is calling you to something and you're running from it,
- 36:29Speaker 1: just stop running. You know you could avoid being swallowed
- 36:34Speaker 1: up by a fish. Right to stop running is better.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Obedience is always better than sacrifice. All right, let's take
- 36:47Speaker 1: a quick break to the light. Right back.
- 36:55Speaker 4: You turn pain and to prom dream beauty. Mesh we
- 37:03Speaker 4: week gastly.

- 41:23Speaker 1: Come on, make these dead bones live. Man. That was
- 41:27Speaker 1: right on time for this book of Jonah.
- 41:29Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:29Speaker 1: He was dead in the belly of the fish for
- 41:32Speaker 1: three days, but God brought him back out. And that's
- 41:37Speaker 1: what he wants to do for us. Man. He wants
- 41:39Speaker 1: to make sure that we do not die but live.
- 41:43Speaker 1: He wants to bring back to life that has died
- 41:47Speaker 1: in us. Say man, hallelujah. All right, it's time for
- 41:52Speaker 1: the accountability Partner segment.
- 41:56Speaker 5: This is where we.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Talk about disciples. This is where it happens. We need community.
- 42:03Speaker 1: We need someone that we could go to to pray
- 42:06Speaker 1: for us, to pray with us and give us wise
- 42:08Speaker 1: counsel and direction in our lives. And that's why a
- 42:13Speaker 1: lot of people struggle because there's no accountability in that.
- 42:18Speaker 1: And we're willing to come alongside you. We're willing to
- 42:20Speaker 1: help you with that. If you go to the podcast
- 42:24Speaker 1: and click on my podcast and go to the Accountability
- 42:30Speaker 1: Partner section. That's where you can find the form. Fill
- 42:35Speaker 1: it out. It's a good self check, good thing to
- 42:39Speaker 1: do if you just want to know where you're at spiritually.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Fill out the form and if you request the follow up,
- 42:46Speaker 1: myself or someone from his high team will contact you
- 42:50Speaker 1: so that we can pray and help you walk that walk. Amen.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Now here's a challenge for this week. Our challenge to
- 42:59Speaker 1: you he was don't run from God. Now, if he's
- 43:03Speaker 1: called you to forgive, or to serve, or to step
- 43:07Speaker 1: into ministry, obey, share with your accountability partner one area
- 43:14Speaker 1: you've been resisting God's call. Let's keep each other sharp, yo,
- 43:21Speaker 1: you know, like I shared earlier what I've struggled with.
- 43:26Speaker 1: Hey man, time for some HH news. It looks like
- 43:36Speaker 1: a bizzle. So he just dropped his his album, right
- 43:42Speaker 1: did he just drop it? Let me see real quick,
- 43:47Speaker 1: he just dropped his album. Let me see what is
- 43:54Speaker 1: the that's the name of it business? Who announces Nobody's
- 44:02Speaker 1: mascot is the name of it? Nobody's mascot might be
- 44:07Speaker 1: his last album. So this might be the last full
- 44:13Speaker 1: length album from our brother Bizle. Check it out. I
- 44:19Speaker 1: believe it's been out for about two months now, So
- 44:26Speaker 1: if you haven't checked it out, go check out mascot
- 44:29Speaker 1: for my brother Bizil. He said this might be his
- 44:33Speaker 1: last cut. Bizel has been to cut his hop multiple times.
- 44:40Speaker 1: He's been in the trenches with us, very faithful to
- 44:45Speaker 1: the call. He's always been consistent. So yeah, I would
- 44:49Speaker 1: hate to see him go. I would hate to see him.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Maybe he's doing something different, maybe he's just gonna put
- 44:55Speaker 1: out singles or something like that. But also I want
- 45:00Speaker 1: to let you know that his Hot Radio is a
- 45:01Speaker 1: monitoring and a reporting radio station. If you want to
- 45:05Speaker 1: go up on the charts, submit your music to us

- 45:23Speaker 1: here to help you. Amen. All right, time for trivia.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Trivia time. Now, let's see who's been paying attention. The
- 45:35Speaker 1: questions are about Jonah the first chapter. Now write your
- 45:44Speaker 1: answers in the life chat, share it with your friends,
- 45:50Speaker 1: share with your family. The first question is where was
- 45:55Speaker 1: Jonah headed when he tried to run from God? Where
- 46:02Speaker 1: was Jonah headed when he was trying to run from God.
- 46:11Speaker 1: All right. The second question is what did the sailors
- 46:20Speaker 1: do right after Jonah? But after they throwing Jonah over
- 46:27Speaker 1: the over the into the sea like they threw them overboard,
- 46:30Speaker 1: what was what did they do? All right? So I
- 46:37Speaker 1: got a couple. I got four questions here. So I
- 46:41Speaker 1: got a couple about his high nation, what city was
- 46:44Speaker 1: the very first, his hot club founded in the very first?
- 46:56Speaker 1: And what do our project? So everyone is seen it focused.
- 47:01Speaker 3: On, right, it looks like you lost another one.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Now, these these are good questions. I'm gonna post this
- 47:14Speaker 1: in the live chat there with me real quick. I'll
- 47:22Speaker 1: let you guys, don't forget what these questions are. Oh wow,
- 47:28Speaker 1: we're getting more more it's not gonna fit. The last
- 47:40Speaker 1: question is not gonna fit. We getting more people logged
- 47:43Speaker 1: in to the life chat. We've got lady the Ventia
- 47:51Speaker 1: logging in. Amen, hallelujah. I just saw that. All right,
- 47:59Speaker 1: So the questions are posted there. Hopefully we got some
- 48:04Speaker 1: good ones, get some more interaction in our live check

- 48:31Speaker 1: fill out your announcement. Fill out the form so that
- 48:34Speaker 1: we can share it right here every day on the station.
- 48:38Speaker 1: We are a community, a local community radio station. Our
- 48:42Speaker 1: listeners our local as well as all over the world.
- 48:45Speaker 1: But we want our local Las Vegas family to know
- 48:48Speaker 1: what's going on. So if you're feeding the homeless, if

- 50:56Speaker 1: about Jonah chapter one. As we start in this new book,
- 51:00Speaker 1: we're looking at that God is a merciful God, a man.
- 51:05Speaker 1: As wicked as these people are, and as brutal and
- 51:08Speaker 1: cruel they have been, God is still willing to gat
- 51:13Speaker 1: them repentance. God has a call, right is God calling you?
- 51:20Speaker 1: If God has a call in your life, you need
- 51:23Speaker 1: to answer that call and not run from it and
- 51:27Speaker 1: has God disciplined you, Even though it doesn't feel good
- 51:33Speaker 1: at the time, I get encouraged because I know that
- 51:38Speaker 1: it says in Hebrews that God will chase in his
- 51:41Speaker 1: own children, he will not chasing somebody else's kids. So
- 51:45Speaker 1: just a simple fact that God is disciplining you, that
- 51:50Speaker 1: I've been disciplined as encouraging to me. And knowing that
- 51:54Speaker 1: my father, a man, is dealing with me. So don't
- 52:01Speaker 1: run lean into it.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Allow God to.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Work it out in us as I allow God to
- 52:07Speaker 1: work it out in myself. We're on this road together. Amen.
