- 1:25the twenty ninth of nineteen fifty seven and the title is The Doubtful Dairy Matter
- 1:32from Hollywood. It's time now or Johnny Dollar is Peter Hardy at Try Western
- 1:40Property and Casualty Insurance. HI our things in the Golden West. He is
- 1:44dealing right on, good boy, What goes Peyton? A little trouble with
- 1:47a big dairy farm out here, Johnny Amenian dairy. Okay, Pete,
- 1:51tell me a year and a half ago on a fire, Emenian lost one
- 1:53of his silos. You know, one of those big towers where they store
- 1:57and caire a lot of chopped up corners. Yeah, yeah, I know.
- 2:00Twenty one thousand dollars. Twenty one thousand for a silo. This time
- 2:04is a compound silo. And the claim is for fifty six thousand. Oh
- 2:07and I don't want to pay it. I don't blame you, sure,
- 2:09because Johnny, I think it was a parson Bob Bailey. In the Exciting
- 2:22Adventures of a Man with the Action Packed Expense Account, America's fabulous freelance insurance
- 2:27investigator, Truly Johnny Dollar, now act one of yours, Truly Johnny Dollars.
- 2:52Expense account submitted by special Investigator Johnny Dollars the Tri Western Property and Casually
- 2:57Insurance Company Renon, Nevada office. Following is an acount of expenses incurred during
- 3:01my investigation of the Daftful Dairy Matter expense account out of one one hundred and
- 3:10forty one twenty transportation and Incidental's hard for Doreena Neveda. It was about nine
- 3:15am when I arrived, so I checked into the Mapes Hotel and then walked
- 3:19over to Pete Hardy's office. Median Dairies is just north to hear Johnny and
- 3:23warm Springs value off root thirty three. Well, and I better rem me
- 3:25a car or you can use mine, I'll peat how can I run on
- 3:29my expense account? Was I have something to run it up with Johnny for
- 3:32one? Anyhow, the reason why these silos a Median has are so expensive
- 3:38it is that'd be owner. His name, by the way, yes,
- 3:39Arab Amedian, and I take it he's Armenian. Strangely enough, now now
- 3:45he's had all his silos very specially built. How specially can you build a
- 3:47silo just a concrete base, a lot of long wooden staves to get the
- 3:52circular shape, and a good roof on top. Well, he has the
- 3:54trick of them inside, like what that's his deep dark secret. But he
- 3:58claims and makes better silence for cattle and as possible anywhere else in the world.
- 4:01And one of these things burned up a year and a half ago.
- 4:03The word exploded best described its Yeah, and as I said, cost us
- 4:09twenty one thousand and now the replacement has gone up on the plane yes day
- 4:12before yesterday. He filed a claim the same day. Well, why do
- 4:15you, suspect, Arson, Did the local authorities find anything suspicious? No,
- 4:18but you go out and talk with a median Johnny, and if you
- 4:21don't end up with the same kind of feeling I have, well I'll leave
- 4:26my shirt expense account at him two fifty dollars deposit on a drive your own
- 4:32car. Finding the Armenian dairy and Rants, some twenty miles north of the
- 4:40city was easy. It was spread out all over the countryside, hundreds of
- 4:44acres of well irrigated, lush stream pastures spere. In the middle of the
- 4:47rant sat one of the cleanest, most modern dairies I ever saw. Aaron
- 4:51Armenian gave me the grand tour, and I must say I was impressed.
- 4:55It was close to two hundred well kept guernseys in the main barn, which
- 4:59was clean as a whistle. The milking machines, coolers, separators, clarifiers
- 5:03and so on were the same. Yep, a prosperous looking setup. Finally,
- 5:09mister Median took me out to where a small group of workmen were cleaning
- 5:12up what was left of his compound silo. As you can see, mister
- 5:15Dollar, only the concrete base is left. That must have been a pretty
- 5:19big silo, mister I, meaning it's the largest and most efficient in the
- 5:24entire West. Still fifty six thousand dollars. Oh, the side had nothing
- 5:27to do with that. It was the inner construction, known only to Barnwell,
- 5:30the man who built it for me, and to myself. Of course,
- 5:32all is so special about it principally a method of venting. Venting.
- 5:38Yes, it increases the phosphorus and lactic acid content. All I thought the
- 5:42point in the silo was to keep it pretty well sealed up, venting within,
- 5:46mister Dollar. But that's all I'll tell you about it. It costs
- 5:48me fifty six thousand to have Barnwell building, and I wish the company to
- 5:51pay my claim as quickly as possible, because I'm starting construction anew it immediately,
- 5:57of the same type, all vastly improved type. Oh, then it
- 6:00was to your advantage to lose the old one, That's what he means to
- 6:03that your loss came at just the right time, didn't it. Not just
- 6:08a minute? With the insurance money, you can build a new and better
- 6:10one, and when it gets out of date, I suppose you'll have another
- 6:13fire. Oh I see. You think perhaps these last two were deliberately set
- 6:19where they ridiculous, But if they were, If they were, I certainly
- 6:26wouldn't know. I'll come on now, after what you've just said. What's
- 6:29more, mister Dollar, I'm sure you'll never be able to prove it.
- 6:47Act two off yours truly, Johnny Dollar. In a moment, we sometimes
- 6:53wonder what is the life of a human being really worth? Not too much
- 6:59or maybe a great deal? Does it depend on whose life it is?
- 7:02Whatever the answer, one thing is certain. Fred Hargesheimer, since World War
- 7:08II, has felt that his life is worth quite a lot, quite a
- 7:12lot of gratitude. During the war in the Pacific, about June of nineteen
- 7:15forty three, Lieutenant Hargesheimer had his P thirty eight fighter planes shot out of
- 7:19the sky. Badly wounded, he bailed out over a tiny island, New
- 7:25Britain. It looked pretty small from where he hit the silk, but he
- 7:29found it much bigger. When he hit the ground, it was bigger and
- 7:32in complete control of the enemy. But Hargersheimer was lucky. After a month
- 7:38of lonely hiding, he was found by a group of friendly natives from the
- 7:42village of Nantambu. They cared for him and successfully hit him from enemy patrols
- 7:47for the next four months at the risk of their own lives. Then Hargesheimer
- 7:51was able to make it back to civilization. For the next seventeen years,
- 7:57Fred Hargesheimer thought about those wonderful people of non Tamboo, twelve thousand miles away
- 8:03in the United States of America. Hargesheimer put a great plan into effect.
- 8:07He made speeches, took up collections, sold jewelry belonging to his family,
- 8:13and worked out a way to bring a bit of civilization and happiness to the
- 8:16little village of non Tamboo. Needless to say, the villagers gave him a
- 8:20spectacular welcome. Upon his return, Fred Hargesheimer showed his gratitude to the people
- 8:26who had saved his life. But life is worth little without freedom, the
- 8:33right of all men everywhere. And now act too, of your truly Johnny
- 8:37Dollars and the doubtful, dry matter why what he said and the way he
- 8:46said it? Ara Momenian was practically challenging me to find out how Arsenal was
- 8:50involved in the destruction of his fifty six thousand dollars secretly constructed compound silence expense
- 8:56Acon Adam three phone called a gas station on High thirty three to Reno.
- 9:01Police had quught it, but Lieutenant Brady of the Arts and Squad assured me
- 9:03he'd failed to find anything indicating the fire was set. So dead end until
- 9:09I remembered a little trick that had worked for her May before it might work
- 9:13again. I'd him four twenty seven cents for a local white bread at the
- 9:16grocery store along the highway. Then I drove back to the Armenian ranch.
- 9:20If I had known you were hungry, mister dollar, I should have had
- 9:24something provided for you with the ranch house. In spite of your rather nasty
- 9:28attitude about this loss of line. Food is the last thing I'm thinking of,
- 9:31mister Imanian. Then why this loaf of bread? If you're not,
- 9:35I'll see, Oh no, surely you're not going to eat the piece of
- 9:39dropping the ashes, Oh no no, Then get it out of your mouth
- 9:43man. Noh mm hmm. Whatever in the world are you doing, mister
- 9:48Dollar, Yeah, yeah, I knew it. You knew what a sure
- 9:52a sure test for terra scene mister I Meanian, Yeah, fresh bread dropping
- 9:56the ashes of a fire. Even days after the fire is out, I
- 10:00can still taste the kerosene, and mister it makes things look pretty bad for
- 10:03you. Me. Oh good, heavens man, you can't. Dollar.
- 10:09I resent this completely unfounded accusations right ahead, and resent. I better still.
- 10:13Let me get hold of a stenographer and you can dictate a confession.
- 10:16Get out of here. I want to do it the highway man, get
- 10:18off this plane. Dollar Nali immediately. Sure, I warn you don't come
- 10:24back, because if you do, we gotta be careful. Mister Armenian,
- 10:26the kind of a threat you're about to make wouldn't sound very good in court.
- 10:30Gets out, Get out, I don't know highway. I stopped at
- 10:37the mobile gas station again. I made another phone call, ad him five
- 10:39another twenty cents. It was to my old friend Herb Krolbert, cashier of
- 10:45Reno's Farm Trade National Banks. It was fast closing time, but he promised
- 10:48to leave a door open falling so I grabbed the sandwich in a coco along
- 10:52the way. That's item six eighty cents including tip. Then at the bank,
- 10:56Herb led me back to his private office. Oh, sit down,
- 11:01Johnny, tell me all about yourself. Yeah. Later we'll go out on
- 11:05the town and talk our heads off. Right now, I need some information.
- 11:07I hope you can tell me where to get it. All information about
- 11:09what the Amenian dairy are better. Still a Menian himself, you know,
- 11:15I'm well, I certainly do. Where his bank is happens to be one
- 11:18of the best accounts we have, especially in our investment department. I mean
- 11:22it's a big, funny big like how much. Well, now, Johnny,
- 11:28I'll tell you this. If I had a quarter of his net worth,
- 11:31I'd have retired long ago. Oh big outstanding debts on his place,
- 11:35anything like that. Not a pennant. Aram's financial condition is Wait a minute,
- 11:41yeah, that fire and explosion of his compound silo. That's right.
- 11:45Everybody found evidence indicating I said, well, certainly are accused again, h
- 11:48else? Oh no, no, no, you're wrong. Oh I look,
- 11:52Herb. He filed that claim so fast. The most nature thing in
- 11:54the world for him, the way he does everything, like paying his bills
- 11:58immediately on receipt. He works that way, you expect everybody else to.
- 12:01Well, he gave me the impression he wanted to collect quickly in order to
- 12:05have money for rebuilding, of course, rather than cash in some of his
- 12:09blue chip investments. Herb somebody fired that silo. Well, it certainly wouldn't
- 12:13be Aaron. Ah, he's sound my hearing co hoes with him. What
- 12:16about his employees From my impression of the man, they love him like a
- 12:20father, every one of them. And if every employer was as generous as
- 12:24he is, there wouldn't be any labor troubles in this country. Well,
- 12:26a fank remains at Somebody somehow stood the prompt by destroying that silo and the
- 12:31one before it. Well, I can't imagine who even his competitors like and
- 12:35respect the man, or so they say, Oh, no, no,
- 12:37they do. He's helped them stay on their feet during hard times, developed
- 12:41new ideas and methods, and passed them on to them. Oh, the
- 12:45factory man, Johnny, Johnny, I had a rough day. How about
- 12:48a nice, cool casual drink. Then we'll have dinner and take in the
- 12:52town. Oh, I had them seven twenty one thirty and a good dinner
- 13:00back int the mates. But I didn't enjoy it because Herb and his defense
- 13:05of a median was no help at all, except perhaps for giving me a
- 13:09list of all the people he could think of who did business whatever. I
- 13:11decided to check them all first thing in the morning. Finally, about midnight,
- 13:16having lost our share at a couple of nearby gambling clubs, we parted.
- 13:20Herb drove away to his home on the outskirts of town. I went
- 13:22back to the mats. Take mister missus kenway to the room three fourteen boy,
- 13:28Yes, sir, what oh missus Dolly? Oh that's my keeth.
- 13:33Certain of here are Frank and I hope you enjoy a pleasant night drest.
- 13:39Oh, by the way, there was a gentleman here looking for you earlier
- 13:41this evening, hung around quite a while, said he'd be back. Oh
- 13:46was he? He didn't give his name, sir, in orderd he wish
- 13:48to leave a message, mister Amenian, mister Amenian the derriman. Oh,
- 13:54no, sir, I'm quite sure, okay, n yes sir, good
- 13:58night, good night, Oh mister doll. Yeah, there he is going
- 14:03out the door in the dark brown coat. Youah, sure, yes,
- 14:05he's the same man. Yeah, so do I. But if he knows
- 14:09you, sir. And by the time I got out the front door,
- 14:15the man in the brown coat was halfway down the block and walking fast,
- 14:18faster and faster. As a matter of fact. As I gained on,
- 14:20he turned the corner, and by this time both of us were running.
- 14:24Hey, hey, are you looking for me? When the end of three
- 14:30or four blocks, it was a real foot race. Then suddenly he turned
- 14:33into an alley, and like a darn fool, I plunged into the darkness
- 14:35of it after him. Hey, hey, right here, Oh no,
- 14:43you act free of yours truly, Johnny Dollar in the moment. Our flag
- 14:58now number is fifty stars, and behind each star there stands yet another flag
- 15:03representing one of the fifty states. New Hampshire state flag carries its state seal
- 15:09on a field of dark blue. The seal is surrounded by a wreath of
- 15:13Laura Leeds, the symbol of peace. It dispersed with nine stars, because
- 15:16New Hampshire was the ninth state to join the Union. The heart of the
- 15:20state seal is a representation of the frigate Raleigh, recalling the glory of the
- 15:26early days of sale. New Hampshire State flag. The flag of the ninth
- 15:30State and to the Union, was adopted on April twenty ninth, nineteen thirty
- 15:33one, No Act three of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar and the doutful Dairy
- 15:39matters. If it hadn't been for a big interstate moving van that drove into
- 15:48the alley where I've been wled, well, I have a strong hunch I
- 15:50wasn't supposed to have lived through that. Feeding the truck driver who absolutely refused
- 15:56a tip. Incidentally, half walk half carried me back to the mapes that's
- 16:00part. Had a doctor in my room within a few minutes. This terrible
- 16:04thing that's done. You're being attacked like this, And of course I don't
- 16:07have to make a report over to the plane do anything you like, doctor,
- 16:11Just just get me patched up with you and you mean you you have
- 16:18no idea who could have done this? To believe me, I intend to
- 16:22find out judging by this fallen hand with your You've got in some good licks
- 16:26though, and whoever wants the matter, this is a very unusual ring.
- 16:32You. Oh, some kids in the y m c A gave it to
- 16:34me a couple of years ago. The softball team. Oh yes, of
- 16:38course, why insignia, Yeah, one of them made it, and the
- 16:41three raised points stand for spirit, body and mine. Yeah that's right.
- 16:47Well, now, if you're just oh wait, what's that for? Make
- 16:51sure you get plenty of rest. Oh no, no, I'm the doctor.
- 16:53Well do it. Look if this shot leaves me groggy in the morning,
- 17:00wake up feeling fine. Incidentally, that ring listened before you notify the
- 17:07police. Oh hey, this this shot works pretty fair. Yep, that's
- 17:15sad to say. Uh if that ring of yours didn't leave a mark on
- 17:19whoever you defended yourself against him? There, you know, I mean very
- 17:23much. In a few seconds, I was out like a light. But
- 17:30then a whole set of weird dreams began to plague my somewhat battered mind,
- 17:34and questions about who would attack me and why? Only the why was only
- 17:41too obvious to keep me from finding an arsonist who yeah, yeah, who
- 17:45probably bore the mark of my ring on his kiss? He. I thought
- 17:49of the names Herb had given me and his insistence, but none of them
- 17:52could be guilty. Wait a minute, there was one name he hadn't mentioned,
- 17:59but a median had of one man who stood the gain a lot by
- 18:02the destruction of the silos. Or maybe it was just a crazy hunch,
- 18:06part of the wild dreams that came from the beating I'd taken in any event.
- 18:12In the morning, as soon as the bank was opened, I was
- 18:15in Herb Carlbert's office again. Well, yes, he has an account here
- 18:19too, Johnny, at least he did before. How about loan? Says
- 18:23this man were talking about taking out any loans? Oh yes, but Johnny,
- 18:27you know, I yeah, I know, I know. The fact
- 18:30remains. He's pretty hot up for doesn't he Why I didn't say that,
- 18:33although, of course, if that's the conclusion you choose to draw, tell
- 18:37me this he owes the bank money now doesn't mean all right? Did he
- 18:41also owe the bank a lot of money about a year and a half ago,
- 18:45Johnny? Yeah? Well, Johnny, you're right. But who would
- 18:48have suspected And when you consider that aram Aminion is the one man who was
- 18:52given him money for all the work he's I can't believe it, Herb.
- 18:56It started out as a pure hunch, but right now I'd bet my can
- 19:00I find him? Well? If Aaron plans to go ahead with new construction.
- 19:03Probably go out there at the derry. You want to come along,
- 19:06Maybe i'd better. After the way aarm threatened you, I guess I owe
- 19:08him an apology for the way I tore into him. Let's go, Johnny.
- 19:11Yeah, what what if you're wrong? What if this man we think
- 19:18is the arson? This way? You agree that the Firebug is the same
- 19:21man who attacked me in the alley? I suppose so. I we'll soon
- 19:25know, because, believe me, he's a marked man. We made the
- 19:36Armenian Jerry in thirty minutes flat. We're told at the gate that Aaron Armenian
- 19:38was in the pasteurizing plan. Maybe you better let me talk to Aaron first,
- 19:47Johnny. It's not Aaron that I'm interested in her, and you know
- 19:49I'm just a minute, hold it a second. What do you want to
- 19:52tell my shoe Ice? Yeah? Sure, I've been thinking, Johnny on
- 19:56the way out. You know, we could really be terribly, terribly were
- 20:03We're just looking for you. I heard the car pull up. I thought
- 20:07it was Joe Barnwell. He's here to show me final plans for the new
- 20:10stylo. He's gone to Oh it's a dollar and that's right, sir,
- 20:14meaning I want to apologize. Now, what's the matter dressing on your cheeks?
- 20:22What about it? Just? What is that little bandage hiding? Johnny
- 20:26Well? I mean and as a matter of fact, I felt trading this
- 20:30morning. Well, I'm sorry, mister, but that bandage is going to
- 20:32have to come off. Look, Johnny, just a minute dollars? Ah,
- 20:36here you are here, here's the final blueprint? Where the phone?
- 20:41Oh, gentlemen, this is mister Joseph Barnwell, heard Carlbert. We know
- 20:45each other, mister Johnny Dollar. Yeah, I think we know each other
- 20:49too. Bonwell, Oh do we joja have an accident of some sort your
- 20:56face? What's going to happen to him? Now? Won't be any accident,
- 20:59mister MEI and I apologize for doubting that you cut yourself with a razor.
- 21:03I'm afraid I don't understand it. But that bandage on your face doesn't
- 21:07hide any razor cut, does it? Barnwell, I don't know what you're
- 21:11talking about. All right, then let's rip it off. You certainly good?
- 21:15Heavens Johnny. Look the mark from the ring on my hand where I
- 21:18struck him last night? Okay, born Well, no, I'll stop,
- 21:22don't don't touch me. Started talking. Tellamanian how you burned up his fancy,
- 21:26expensive silo so you could build another one, How you burned the other
- 21:30one up? Talk talk talk, Yeah, he talked all right, funny
- 21:45about a rankeet so old. I hadn't heard of it in years. The
- 21:49crooked builder who burned out his own plans to get himself more work, and
- 21:53in this case of natural because he was the only one who shared Aaron's secret
- 21:56construction plan. And by the time when I was sure with him, he
- 22:00blacked about some of the other clients he'd taken the same way. Expensive count
- 22:04total including incidentals and a trip back to Hydrid four hundred eighteen dollars even yours
- 22:10chili. Johnny Dillen our star Bob Bailey will return in just a moment to
- 22:26give you a hint about what's in store for you on next week's program.
- 22:32Meantime, listen carefully. There is a Biblical verse which promises life is going
- 22:37to be better for everybody in the world when mercy and truth are met together,
- 22:42and righteousness and peace have kissed each other. When the people of the
- 22:47United States of America express that thought it is not in idleness, but indeed
- 22:52today it is common knowledge that when the gigantic earthquakes and tidal waves struck the
- 22:57Republic of Chile and South America too long ago, thousands of lives were lost
- 23:03and tens of thousands were left homeless, hungry, and suffering. Immediate aid
- 23:07in the form of food, medicine, clothing supplies, and professional and technical
- 23:11help were flown to Chile by the United States Air Force in a mercy airlift.
- 23:17When the work was done and the suffering people made happier and more comfortable,
- 23:21American servicemen received such grateful thanks from the people of Chile that they felt
- 23:26increased pride in being able to wear the uniform of the United States of America.
- 23:30This same pride has come to other Americans in uniform when mercy and truth
- 23:34have come together to follow the wake of disaster in other parts of the world.
- 23:40After the earthquake and Agada, Morocco, after two devastating cyclones swept across
- 23:45the Bay of Bengal into East Pakistan, after a typhoon rocked and battered Japan.
- 23:51As mercy and truth got together, so did peace and righteousness to form
- 23:56a Pact for Freedom, the right of all men everywhere and now here is
- 24:02our star to tell you about next week's intriguing story on Yours Truly Johnny Dollar.
- 24:07Next week, while I get into cattle country again and a Hanford Steer
- 24:11solves a case on me. So joy ups, won't you Yours Truly Johnny
- 24:17Dollar. Yours Truly Johnny Dollars, starring Bob Bailey, originates in Hollywood.
- 24:33It is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone, who also wrote tonight's story Heard
- 24:37in our Cast where Paul Dubas, Will Wright, John Dayner, Harry Bartel,
- 24:41Barley Bear, and Boris Lewis. Be sure to join us next week,
- 24:47same time and station, or another exciting story of Yours Truly, Johnny
- 24:52Dollar. This is Dan Coverly speaking. This is the United States Armed Forces
- 25:19Radio and Television Service. Welcome back. Well. We learned a couple things
- 26:37about Johnny Dallar this episode. Number one is that Johnny is able to find
- 26:45time in his free time and in a job that tech has him called off
- 26:49at a moment's notice to help out at the y m c A and help
- 26:53the kids down there, which is great. And we also learn that when
- 26:57all else fails, he can go ahead and beat a confession out of the
- 27:02suspects. To be honest, that was a bit off just from what we've
- 27:08seen of Johnny. And the only thing I can think of is Jack Johnstone
- 27:14was writing it was just making the decision. You know, we've only got
- 27:18twenty minutes to tell our actual story, and we can add some clever twist
- 27:25in here, and there certainly were some of those, but we don't have
- 27:30time to find some grand clue, I know, but at any rate,
- 27:36the ringing at least can go into your portrait of Johnny Dollar. This was
- 27:38also an odd episode just for accusing the wrong person. There was one part
- 27:48where the banker was say, you know, we might be making a horrible
- 27:52mistake. Of course, in this story, that wouldn't have been new for
- 27:57Johnny unless the actual owner was behind it. Having the builder was a decent
- 28:04twist, and, as Johnny indicated, not something you saw in detective stories
- 28:11of the day too much. All right, Well on to some listener comments
- 28:15and feedback, and we have some comments from Facebook and Bobby who comments on
- 28:23the previous episode The JPD Matter. Great episode, as always, The fact
- 28:30that she used her initials made me think of Jess sick of Fletcher in murder.
- 28:34She wrote, interesting, all right, Well, we had a couple
- 28:40questions come through on Twitter. Karen asked, can you tell me who played
- 28:45Eric Turnbull in Yours Truly Johnny Doller the Curse of kamashek Matter? Indeed,
- 28:51Karin, that was Alan Reid, mister Yabba Dabadoo himself playing some of the
- 28:57great radio roles he played prior to the sixties and the Flintstones, which is
- 29:06most of his legacy to the average person. And Thomas asked, what is
- 29:14your favorite Johnny Dollar episode? Well, good question, Thomas, and I'll
- 29:18be honest that I don't have a definitive answer just because I haven't heard all
- 29:23of them at this point. I'm discovering most of these episodes for the first
- 29:30time with you and the rest of our listeners. But I'm the ones i've
- 29:37heard. The one I like the best comes from the Johnny Dollar serial era
- 29:45and the Nick Sure Matter. I think just great program. It managed to
- 29:51be a Christmas program without being two sappies, with still a lot of great
- 29:56action and emotion. And I really played into the Christmas season in a way
- 30:02that you just don't see happen too much, So I love the Nick sher
- 30:07matter of the half hours we've heard so far. I really enjoyed the Ras
- 30:12Mussin matter. That one definitely sticks out in my memory, and I guess
- 30:18that could be me being an emotional softy, but whatever. I also add
- 30:25some favorites for prior Johnny dollars, for Charles Russell. I liked episode one
- 30:32hundred The Little Man who Wasn't All there for em and O'Brien the Yankee Pride
- 30:38matter. Really, Johnny Dollar had his toughest and most hard boiled during the
- 30:44Brian O'Brien era, and that episode zero two nine to five and the Paul
- 30:51Garrell Matter from John Lund's era episode zero seven to eight. Oh, I
- 30:56love that one. It basically featured Johnny doing trying to recover some stolen property
- 31:06and so he goes undercover in a ride share situation with several people and one
- 31:14of them might be a murderer. It was a very suspenseful episode and like
- 31:19I said, my favorite of the John Lunn era. If you have a
- 31:25favorites you'd like to share from yours truly, Johnny Dollar, I'd love to
- 31:29hear from you that will do it for today, though. We'll be back
- 31:33tomorrow with Dragnet and join us again next Friday for another episode of Yours Truly,
- 31:38Johnny Dollar. In the meantime, send your comments to Box thirteen at
