Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
Speaker 1: with our final impact statements, and the first one we're
• 0:09
Speaker 1: going to take a look at is from Elizabeth Stein.
• 0:14
Speaker 1: Good afternoon, your honor. I came to New York in
• 0:17
Speaker 1: nineteen ninety one at the age of eighteen to attend
• 0:20
Speaker 1: FIT and immediately began to excel academically. In my sophomore year,
• 0:25
Speaker 1: I accepted a Christmas time internship at Henry Bendell, New York.
• 0:30
Speaker 1: I performed well and was asked to stay on as
• 0:32
Speaker 1: a part time employee. In the fall semester of my
• 0:35
Speaker 1: senior year at Fit, Glaine Maxwell came into the store,
• 0:38
Speaker 1: where she was a frequent customer. Her usual salesperson wasn't there,
• 0:43
Speaker 1: so I helped her. Golaine was electrifying. We hit it
• 0:46
Speaker 1: off immediately. In the first meeting, we spoke of our
• 0:49
Speaker 1: mutual love of fashion, of difficult fathers, and formal upbringing
• 0:54
Speaker 1: of boyfriends, and of how we both saw New York
• 0:56
Speaker 1: as a chance to start over. She told me that
• 1:01
Speaker 1: her boss, who I later came to understand was Jeffrey Epstein,
• 1:04
Speaker 1: was close friend with Les Wexner, the CEO and founder
• 1:08
Speaker 1: of the limited which owned Henry Bendall at the time.
• 1:11
Speaker 1: When she completed her purchase, I offered to deliver them
• 1:14
Speaker 1: to her so she didn't have to carry them around
• 1:16
Speaker 1: all day. This was the courtesy I frequently extended to
• 1:19
Speaker 1: my high end clients. Later that day, I called her
• 1:22
Speaker 1: office for delivery instructions and was told to bring them
• 1:25
Speaker 1: to a hotel close to the store. When I arrived,
• 1:28
Speaker 1: the hotel concierge told me Miss Maxwell was in the
• 1:32
Speaker 1: bar and wanted me to meet someone. It was Jeffrey Epstein.
• 1:36
Speaker 1: That night in the hotel was the first of many
• 1:38
Speaker 1: times they sexually assaulted me. Afterwards, I tried to pretend
• 1:43
Speaker 1: everything was normal. I returned to my classes at FIT
• 1:46
Speaker 1: and continued to work at Henry Bendell, but I started
• 1:49
Speaker 1: to crack. I failed a course that was necessary for
• 1:53
Speaker 1: my degree and had to retake it to get my diploma.
• 1:56
Speaker 1: Shortly after my first meeting with Epstein and Maxwell, I
• 2:00
Speaker 1: was offered a full time position at Henry Bendell. It
• 2:04
Speaker 1: was a newly created position at the store, and it
• 2:06
Speaker 1: would have required me to leave FIT a semester short
• 2:09
Speaker 1: of completing my degree. I had aspirations of going to
• 2:13
Speaker 1: law school, and I knew I cannot do so without
• 2:15
Speaker 1: my undergraduate degree, so I declined it. When Golane found out,
• 2:20
Speaker 1: she flew into a rage. I didn't understand why until
• 2:24
Speaker 1: she told me that she and Epstein were responsible for
• 2:26
Speaker 1: giving me that opportunity, and that in turning it down,
• 2:29
Speaker 1: I was being ungrateful. I now know that this was
• 2:33
Speaker 1: their standard operating procedure, give a gift or a favor,
• 2:36
Speaker 1: and then demand sex in return. Nevertheless, I completed my
• 2:40
Speaker 1: coursework for my degree from FIT, at which point I
• 2:43
Speaker 1: left Henry Bendall and took a position at Bloomingdale's. I
• 2:48
Speaker 1: wanted to leave Epstein in Maxwell and the abuse they
• 2:51
Speaker 1: perpetrated against me behind as I started my professional life.
• 2:55
Speaker 1: I never wanted to or expected to see them again.
• 3:00
Speaker 1: In the fall of nineteen ninety five, Glaine showed up
• 3:02
Speaker 1: at Bloomingdll's looking for me. When I asked her how
• 3:06
Speaker 1: she knew where I was, she said she asked my
• 3:08
Speaker 1: colleagues at Henry Bendel. She immediately began befriending me, once again,
• 3:13
Speaker 1: asking me to go out socially. I tried to resist,
• 3:16
Speaker 1: but eventually she wore me down, and I began spending
• 3:19
Speaker 1: time with them again. They made me feel like they
• 3:22
Speaker 1: were my friends contemporaries. In one instance, they took me
• 3:26
Speaker 1: to Florida and insisted that I stay longer than planned,
• 3:29
Speaker 1: which caused me to miss work and led to me
• 3:31
Speaker 1: being fired. Seizing on this new vulnerability, they began trafficking
• 3:36
Speaker 1: me to their friends. By that time, I was trapped.
• 3:40
Speaker 1: I was assaulted, raped, and trafficked countless times in New
• 3:43
Speaker 1: York and Florida. During the three year period, things happened
• 3:47
Speaker 1: that were so traumatizing that to this day I'm unable
• 3:50
Speaker 1: to speak about I don't even have the vocabulary to
• 3:54
Speaker 1: describe them in the most literal sense of the word.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell terrified me. They told me that if
• 4:00
Speaker 1: I told anyone, no one would believe me, and if
• 4:03
Speaker 1: they did, they would kill me and the people closest
• 4:06
Speaker 1: to me. And I believe them. I was once bright, fun, outgoing,
• 4:10
Speaker 1: in kind, I love people, and people genuinely enjoyed being
• 4:15
Speaker 1: around me. After meeting Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell, it
• 4:19
Speaker 1: felt like someone shut off the lights to my soul.
• 4:22
Speaker 1: My secrets became too much for me to handle, and
• 4:25
Speaker 1: I began doing whatever I could to try to get
• 4:27
Speaker 1: away from Maxwell and Epstein. I changed jobs, apartments, cities,
• 4:32
Speaker 1: and even states to try to get away. Everywhere I
• 4:35
Speaker 1: went they found me. In nineteen ninety seven, I moved
• 4:39
Speaker 1: to Philadelphia with the hopes of finally starting law school.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: They found me again, and it was more than I
• 4:45
Speaker 1: could take. I was hospitalized with the nervous breakdown. It
• 4:49
Speaker 1: would be the first of over two dozen hospitalizations in
• 4:52
Speaker 1: a decade following my involvement with Epstein and Maxwell. In
• 4:56
Speaker 1: addition to my escalating mental health problems, I began to
• 5:00
Speaker 1: experience physical symptoms that doctors could never put their fingers on.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: I could no longer even pretend to be able to
• 5:08
Speaker 1: hold down a job or take care of myself in
• 5:11
Speaker 1: any meaningful way, and I had to move back home
• 5:13
Speaker 1: once again. Emotionally, I had cracked, and nobody thought I
• 5:17
Speaker 1: would ever get better. But I didn't give up. I
• 5:21
Speaker 1: was determined to do whatever I had to to prove
• 5:23
Speaker 1: everyone wrong. I wasn't crazy. I was hurt. For over
• 5:28
Speaker 1: a decade and a half. I went to all kinds
• 5:30
Speaker 1: of medical specialists and was in and out of medical
• 5:33
Speaker 1: psychiatric hospitals, having tests and procedures. Even submitting to clinical
• 5:38
Speaker 1: trials and an experimental implanable medical device, nothing helped. Just
• 5:44
Speaker 1: as I began to repair the emotional damage, I was
• 5:46
Speaker 1: diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome. CRPS, is a rare,
• 5:52
Speaker 1: narrow inflammatory disorder characterized raised by intense, relentless physical pain.
• 5:58
Speaker 1: Both CRPS ANDSD are psychophysical states in which the sympathetic
• 6:05
Speaker 1: nervous system is engaged and remains inappropriately hyper aroused. There
• 6:11
Speaker 1: is no cure. The mind and the body are interconnected.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: Despite of this, I immersed myself this trauma therapy and
• 6:18
Speaker 1: repaired my emotional health. I began physical therapy and regained
• 6:22
Speaker 1: my physical mobility. I started to rebuild my life. The
• 6:25
Speaker 1: arrest to Epstein in twenty nineteen and Maxwell in twenty
• 6:29
Speaker 1: twenty helped me immensely. For the first time, I was
• 6:32
Speaker 1: finally able to disclose their abuse to friends and medical
• 6:35
Speaker 1: providers twenty five years after meeting them. My experience was validated.
• 6:41
Speaker 1: I could finally see the possibility of closure, and this
• 6:44
Speaker 1: past November and December, I commuted almost every day from
• 6:48
Speaker 1: my home in Philadelphia to attend Glenn Maxwell's trial in Manhattan.
• 6:54
Speaker 1: For weeks, I sat in this courtroom anonymously, only revealing
• 6:57
Speaker 1: my identity. The day before the verdict, I had to
• 7:01
Speaker 1: see justice myself at the age of forty eight. I
• 7:05
Speaker 1: feel like I'm just starting my life. All those things
• 7:08
Speaker 1: I assumed I would have in life, the things that
• 7:10
Speaker 1: my siblings and my friends have achieved, a career, success, partner, family,
• 7:16
Speaker 1: a home, a legacy to be proud of leaving behind,
• 7:19
Speaker 1: were jeopardized for more than two and a half decades.
• 7:23
Speaker 1: The only pronounced difference between my life experience and theirs
• 7:27
Speaker 1: is that one day, when I was doing my job,
• 7:30
Speaker 1: I'm at Glene Maxwell, who fed me to Jeffrey Epstein
• 7:34
Speaker 1: in more ways than one. They almost killed me, but
• 7:37
Speaker 1: I wasn't going to let them. Overcoming what happened to
• 7:40
Speaker 1: me became my decades long, full time career and that
• 7:44
Speaker 1: I have been successful for the past twenty five years.
• 7:48
Speaker 1: Glanne Maxwell has been free to live a life of
• 7:50
Speaker 1: wealth and privilege that is almost incomprehensible. Meanwhile, I have
• 7:55
Speaker 1: had virtually none of the life experiences I might have
• 7:58
Speaker 1: had had we never met for over two and a
• 8:01
Speaker 1: half decades, I felt like I was in prison. She
• 8:04
Speaker 1: has had her life. She needs to be imprisoned so
• 8:07
Speaker 1: that all of the victims can finally be free. Next,
• 8:10
Speaker 1: we have a short one from Teresa Helm Glenn Maxwell.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: I was twenty two years old when you entirely derailed
• 8:17
Speaker 1: the trajectory of my life. You made a choice to
• 8:21
Speaker 1: view me as an individual lesson you. You saw me
• 8:23
Speaker 1: as an object whose only purpose was to be manipulated, used, abused,
• 8:28
Speaker 1: regarded as trash, and sent back from where I came.
• 8:32
Speaker 1: You meticulously convinced me, through your deceptive charm and your conversation,
• 8:37
Speaker 1: that you were someone worthy of my bright and inspired
• 8:40
Speaker 1: young mind to look up to. You crafted your impact
• 8:43
Speaker 1: on me. You groom me. Then you sent me off
• 8:45
Speaker 1: to another monster. I trusted you. You had groomed me
• 8:48
Speaker 1: so well, I unsuspectingly walked myself to the home of
• 8:52
Speaker 1: that monster. I walked myself to the home of that
• 8:55
Speaker 1: predator that hurt me. You manipulated and betrayed me into
• 8:58
Speaker 1: feeling and believing that I was safe. One of the
• 9:01
Speaker 1: most devastating outcomes to you hurting me is how I
• 9:04
Speaker 1: then began to view and treat myself. I began to
• 9:08
Speaker 1: view myself as unworthy of love. I began treating myself
• 9:11
Speaker 1: as the garbage I was regarded as. My life got
• 9:15
Speaker 1: so dark, the despair so intense, I nearly did not
• 9:18
Speaker 1: make it out alive. Do you even remember me? I
• 9:22
Speaker 1: am on the outside of the prison walls. Freedom Yet
• 9:25
Speaker 1: I will forever fight for the freedom that you callously
• 9:28
Speaker 1: stole from me. Teresa Jhlm. Remember my face, hear my voice,
• 9:34
Speaker 1: remember my name, and last, but certainly not least, the
• 9:39
Speaker 1: impact statement delivered by Maria Farmer. My life was on
• 9:44
Speaker 1: a trajectory to be a well known and well respected
• 9:47
Speaker 1: artist when I was derailed by Glenn Maxwell. I was
• 9:50
Speaker 1: studying with the phenomenal artist Eric Fischel and Shu Close
• 9:54
Speaker 1: while doing art for director James Brooks. When I was
• 9:57
Speaker 1: held captive and assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein Glainne Maxwell on
• 10:01
Speaker 1: the Wexner estate in nineteen ninety six. I was freshly
• 10:04
Speaker 1: graduated from a master's program in art, something I worked
• 10:07
Speaker 1: towards all of my life. Glaine began threatening my life
• 10:10
Speaker 1: and destroying my livelihood following my return from being falsely
• 10:14
Speaker 1: imprisoned at Wexner's. She wasn't happy just destroying my career.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: She also assured me my future was destroyed and She
• 10:21
Speaker 1: did everything in her vast power to accomplish this goal.
• 10:25
Speaker 1: She threatened my family and my friends. I have severe
• 10:29
Speaker 1: PTSD in two cancers as a result of my four solitude, poverty,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: and quality of life. While in hiding, the shame I
• 10:36
Speaker 1: associated with art following Glaine's abuse was overwhelming. I saw painting.
• 10:41
Speaker 1: The thing is this was never my shame to carry.
• 10:45
Speaker 1: I was a figurative artist doing what art is due pain.
• 10:49
Speaker 1: The beholders of my art, Epstein and Maxwell, perverted it
• 10:52
Speaker 1: into what they wanted. The art was always pure and beautiful,
• 10:56
Speaker 1: something I now recognize Glaine, Epstein, and Wexner of the
• 11:00
Speaker 1: ones who should have carried the shame for perverting what
• 11:03
Speaker 1: was beautiful. It should be known that Golayne's impact on
• 11:06
Speaker 1: my life cannot be understated. Once she gleaned from Vicky
• 11:09
Speaker 1: Ward that I went to the FBI, my life no
• 11:12
Speaker 1: longer belonged to me. Aside from living in poverty and obscurity,
• 11:17
Speaker 1: I have also had to face public scrutiny as a whistleblower.
• 11:20
Speaker 1: I'm bullied regularly. Golayne changed everything for the worse. She
• 11:24
Speaker 1: seemingly derailed me without thought after I got in her way.
• 11:28
Speaker 1: She assured me that I could be killed walking down
• 11:31
Speaker 1: my favorite path in NYC. I never feel safe outside
• 11:34
Speaker 1: as a result of the massive trauma from being held
• 11:37
Speaker 1: captive by Wexner's thugs via Glen and Jeffrey. Her threats
• 11:42
Speaker 1: have never left my mind, and I believe she will
• 11:44
Speaker 1: harm me if she ever has a way. Please keep
• 11:47
Speaker 1: this in mind when determining her terms of imprisonment. She
• 11:50
Speaker 1: is a very dangerous and devious individual. All Right, folks,
• 11:55
Speaker 1: that's gonna do it for the impact statements, and I
• 11:57
Speaker 1: think they said more than anything that any of us
• 12:00
Speaker 1: could ever say about Kalne Maxwell. So we're going to
• 12:04
Speaker 1: wrap up right here, and all of the information that
• 12:06
Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
