- 1:24Speaker 5: brought the Hollywood juice, please welcome Perez Hilton.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Juicy Scoop. We are going to
- 1:33Speaker 1: get into it.
- 1:34Speaker 5: I have the world-famous Perez Hilton, his co-host and partner,
- 1:38Speaker 5: Chris Booker. You guys have an amazing podcast, an amazing website.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Of course, I've followed you forever.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Welcome back.
- 1:44Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm a little nervous.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Because this is the first interview that he and I
- 1:50Speaker 2: have ever done together.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Sitting in. In person?
- 1:52Speaker 6: No, together.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I mean, he's interviewed me before.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Oh, okay. But this is the first time we've ever
- 1:57Speaker 2: done one as a unit. Right.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:00Speaker 6: And he's fearful.
- 2:01Speaker 7: He thinks I'm just going to be a big dick
- 2:03Speaker 7: and I'm just going to shut everybody down.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Or like insecure, right? So he'll feel the need to
- 2:07Speaker 2: put on a show.
- 2:08Speaker 6: Whereas- No, I won't.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I'm crazy.
- 2:12Speaker 6: You're a constant show. I don't have to bring the crazy.
- 2:13Speaker 6: You're a constant show.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I don't have to put on the show. I am
- 2:16Speaker 2: the show. You don't have to put on the show either.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So just be you.
- 2:18Speaker 6: What show am I going to put on?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Just be you.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I'm going to be me.
- 2:21Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well, let's get into it. You are the king of
- 2:25Speaker 1: the bloggers.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Your Instagram, you post so much with so.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Many stories and links.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It's exhausting.
- 2:34Speaker 5: I mean, you really, you know, and then, of course,
- 2:36Speaker 5: you then, I guess, pick the best parts for your podcast. But, like,
- 2:41Speaker 5: where do you get all your information from?
- 2:44Speaker 2: I mean, recently, not this story, but another- I have a.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Story up right now just about Tori Spelling.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 1: And we'll get into that in a minute, but go ahead.
- 2:51Speaker 2: But, well, DMs is a great way, but I'm not
- 2:56Speaker 2: like an anonymous- You're not.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Like the Dumas and Blind Item site.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I was able to see, wow, this person said that
- 3:05Speaker 2: Tori Spelling's husband just publicly shared the news that their
- 3:10Speaker 2: 15 year old is trans. Right.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I did that story on.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But there was video with it. So if it would
- 3:17Speaker 2: have just been hearsay, exactly. I wouldn't have posted that.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I know Tori. So I could have reached out to
- 3:23Speaker 2: her and said, Hey, I heard this happened in public.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Is this true? I don't hate, you know, the, the
- 3:30Speaker 2: blind item sites. I don't love them either.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I totally, I just talk, I talk about it a
- 3:37Speaker 1: lot because like, I think it's fun. I like it.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think it's interesting. A lot of my people really
- 3:43Speaker 1: follow it.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You just got to take it all with a grain
- 3:45Speaker 2: of salt, as they say.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Well, it's probably about one-third it ends up being true. Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 5: But the thing that gets me is just that, like,
- 3:51Speaker 5: anybody can say... You know, I saw Heather McDonald yelling
- 3:56Speaker 5: at her son at Target saying, you know, I'm not
- 4:00Speaker 5: paying for your college next year.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I should send a fake item in about me.
- 4:04Speaker 1: We've thought of that.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I should do that. I don't think they've ever mentioned
- 4:09Speaker 2: me on the DuMois site.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah. But then you've got to do one that will
- 4:13Speaker 1: get a little traction. And then you're like, do you
- 4:16Speaker 1: really want to.
- 4:16Speaker 5: But the thing is that you put something out there
- 4:19Speaker 5: about yourself that's juicy enough to get traction. And then
- 4:21Speaker 5: when you're like, surprise, I did it myself. The story's
- 4:24Speaker 5: three days old and then no one does the retraction
- 4:27Speaker 5: or everything. And now for the rest of your life,
- 4:29Speaker 5: they thought that you did this awful thing.
- 4:31Speaker 2: We're living in such a rapidly changing time. And I
- 4:39Speaker 2: don't want to attribute it all to Johnny Depp and
- 4:41Speaker 2: Amber Heard, but that has caused a seismic shift, not
- 4:46Speaker 2: just in celebrity world and news, but in the mainstream
- 4:51Speaker 2: world as well. And the people that operate that Dumois
- 4:56Speaker 2: site have been outed. So we know their identities now.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I hope it doesn't happen. I honestly wish the best
- 5:03Speaker 2: for people, but it would not shock me if sometime
- 5:06Speaker 2: in the near future, Somebody sues them because now they
- 5:09Speaker 2: know who to sue for defamation. I have a feeling
- 5:13Speaker 2: post Johnny Depp, there's going to be so many defamation
- 5:16Speaker 2: lawsuits like Britney Spears' father. I'm sure privately he's already
- 5:21Speaker 2: threatening to sue her for defamation for the things that
- 5:25Speaker 2: she will write about in her upcoming memoir.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Do you think the book's ever going to get done?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:32Speaker 2: If you pay her $ 15 million.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Well, are you going over to type it?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Do you think she's going to write it herself?
- 5:39Speaker 6: No.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Did I write my memoir myself?
- 5:42Speaker 1: No.
- 5:42Speaker 5: I know, but I'm saying, do you think someone can
- 5:46Speaker 5: get her to stop spitting and then sit down on
- 5:49Speaker 5: a couch and get some story?
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:51Speaker 2: This is exclusive. I can't believe I've never shared this before.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I'm such a dork.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Mark it down. I know.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I should have done it on my podcast, but you're
- 6:00Speaker 2: getting the exclusive.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Because it made my brain think of it. I do
- 6:03Speaker 2: think the Britney Spears memoir will come out. I forget
- 6:07Speaker 2: the name of the publishing company, but one of these
- 6:09Speaker 2: big New York publishers offered Lindsay Lohan a lot of money.
- 6:15Speaker 2: They gave her. When?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Back when?
- 6:18Speaker 2: Three, four years ago. Okay. Within the not-so-distant past.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Not super recently, but a few years ago they offered her,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think, a million plus. I forget the exact amount.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I heard from a source in publishing, because I know
- 6:33Speaker 2: a lot of people, she failed to meet all her deadlines.
- 6:37Speaker 2: The book never came out. I don't know how that
- 6:40Speaker 2: got resolved, if she had to give him the money
- 6:41Speaker 2: back or what. Or maybe it will eventually come out.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But, yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 2: There was supposed to be a Lindsay Lohan memoir that
- 6:50Speaker 2: never materialized.
- 6:51Speaker 5: I know people who have also been hired to help
- 6:53Speaker 5: a celebrity do it. And sometimes it hasn't come out
- 6:57Speaker 5: because they do the whole book. And then they're like, well, actually,
- 7:01Speaker 5: we decided this isn't good for her brand or whatever.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But, you know, it doesn't really matter. You got paid
- 7:06Speaker 1: as the ghostwriter.
- 7:07Speaker 6: But is anyone overseeing Britney?
- 7:09Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I don't know if anyone is anymore.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Like you're telling me Sam's going to leave the gym
- 7:13Speaker 5: to make sure that the writer comes and has her
- 7:16Speaker 5: sit down and tell a couple stories before.
- 7:18Speaker 2: She– I don't think that there's a deadline that's super urgent.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Like it has to be out later this year. So
- 7:26Speaker 2: if you– I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Like reading all the Instagrams and stuff, I'm just saying
- 7:30Speaker 5: like of course if the book comes out, I'm going
- 7:32Speaker 5: to be the first one to read it, OK?
- 7:33Speaker 1: I will buy it and read it.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I'll need the audio version.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I will do.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I can listen to it in the car.
- 7:39Speaker 6: You'll need the clips of the juicy parts.
- 7:42Speaker 5: But like, you know how like people will write their
- 7:46Speaker 5: memoirs and I'm a big, read a lot of people's
- 7:49Speaker 5: memoirs and sometimes I'm like, all right, this is juicy.
- 7:52Speaker 5: This person was a heroin addict, sold their body, was
- 7:55Speaker 5: on One Day at a Time, whatever.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I mean, there's been so much with Britney.
- 7:57Speaker 1: But then what, no, but I'm saying.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Other people and I'm reading this and I'm like, And
- 8:03Speaker 5: they tell these elaborate stories of what happened when they're
- 8:06Speaker 5: on a four-day binge. And I'm like, okay, wait a minute.
- 8:11Speaker 5: You're on a four-day heroin binge. How do you even
- 8:13Speaker 5: know what happened? I'm just saying. Now some heroin addict
- 8:18Speaker 5: who's a juicy scooper is going to be, I remember everything.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just saying.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I thankfully don't know. And I'm not.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Saying that Brittany is a heroin actor or anything, but
- 8:26Speaker 5: I'm saying, like, is she in a place to, like,
- 8:29Speaker 5: really remember every little... everything that went on to really
- 8:32Speaker 5: explain it and tell it?
- 8:33Speaker 1: I hope so.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I want to hear all about it. Or is she
- 8:35Speaker 2: going to remember it accurately?
- 8:37Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Do you rewrite history? Yes.
- 8:40Speaker 2: But you can't.
- 8:41Speaker 7: I mean, if you're a publisher and you take on
- 8:43Speaker 7: being the publisher... Everything has to be fact-checked if you're
- 8:46Speaker 7: going to include another person.
- 8:48Speaker 6: If not, they won't release it.
- 8:49Speaker 1: That's why I.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Don't think it will ever come out.
- 8:57Speaker 5: We don't know what happened. We know what happened when
- 8:59Speaker 5: the ambulance came to her house. We know what happened
- 9:01Speaker 5: when she took the umbrella and shaved her head. We
- 9:04Speaker 5: know what happened in the last two years.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Here's how we could know.
- 9:07Speaker 5: So it will be her account of living in Vegas,
- 9:10Speaker 5: the dad being like, her saying, the brother didn't let
- 9:13Speaker 5: me have a Jack and Coke after the show. Nobody
- 9:15Speaker 5: let me get a massage. We'll get that, I guess.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I do think that a lot, obviously not everything that
- 9:22Speaker 2: happened during her father's tyrannical reign we will know or
- 9:28Speaker 2: has been known. But I think a lot of the
- 9:31Speaker 2: things that happens to her or the, operating rules of
- 9:36Speaker 2: how Britney is supposed to go day to day. A
- 9:38Speaker 2: lot of that was written down. A lot of that
- 9:40Speaker 2: was submitted to the court. Understandably, it's sealed in private information.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Like diaries. Yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 2: If Britney wanted to, she could petition the court. I
- 9:49Speaker 2: want to unseal these records. I want to make these
- 9:52Speaker 2: private records public.
- 9:54Speaker 1: That would be good.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Then she could do that and also include that in
- 9:57Speaker 2: her book that that would be, you know, fact checked it.
- 10:00Speaker 2: by the public court system.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Like when they sent her allegedly against her will not
- 10:06Speaker 2: that long ago to that one mental health place that
- 10:09Speaker 2: she said she was forced to do therapy for like,
- 10:13Speaker 2: I forget, 12 hours a day or something like that
- 10:15Speaker 2: and she hated it and She's been through a lot.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 10:20Speaker 2: But I think she's happy now. She's at least happy-ish.
- 10:25Speaker 2: As happy as she can be considering everything that happened
- 10:27Speaker 2: to her.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yes. No, I mean, I'm glad she got married. And,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you know, what did you think of the prenup?
- 10:35Speaker 2: We talked about this on our podcast. You know, the
- 10:39Speaker 2: prenup news was very clever spin.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It was like, hey, don't worry about me. I'm not
- 10:49Speaker 1: taking any money from her.
- 10:50Speaker 5: What I said was, from what I read, the prenup-to-be,
- 10:53Speaker 5: everything she had before the wedding.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Is hers, which is normal.
- 11:00Speaker 5: If you're just a cute couple, okay, and you're just young,
- 11:04Speaker 5: and you owned a house for a million dollars, and
- 11:06Speaker 5: you get married, and you're like, this house is mine,
- 11:09Speaker 5: it's paid off, and then anything we make together, you
- 11:13Speaker 5: get half of.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Except being a famous person, especially her that has a
- 11:18Speaker 5: catalog of music. Right.
- 11:20Speaker 1: If she writes this book, why should he get half?
- 11:23Speaker 5: If she does a Christmas special of her best songs,
- 11:28Speaker 5: why should he get half? I'm saying it's not like
- 11:31Speaker 5: they're building a bagel shop together.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 11:34Speaker 6: It's a little different.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He thinks that a prenup can trump anything.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Sure.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You're not a lawyer.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm not either.
- 11:42Speaker 7: But that's why you have a prenup. So you put together...
- 11:46Speaker 7: All everything that she just laid out. Well, I made
- 11:48Speaker 7: this music before. Why would you be making publishing on
- 11:51Speaker 7: this music in 10 years from now?
- 11:53Speaker 1: And it might be in there. It's just business.
- 11:55Speaker 6: It's just business. And it'll all be diced, hashed out.
- 12:00Speaker 2: If you pay attention to her fiance and I do,
- 12:03Speaker 2: he is thirsty for money, which I view as a
- 12:07Speaker 2: good thing. Like he's hungry to work. So he'll do
- 12:09Speaker 2: brand deals. He was streaming on this, you know, online
- 12:15Speaker 2: app that I did for a bit as well because
- 12:17Speaker 2: they were paying him. We don't need to mention them
- 12:20Speaker 2: because who cares?
- 12:21Speaker 1: No, he did. Yeah, he's, you know, wants to be
- 12:24Speaker 1: an actor.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He's doing all these things. In addition to acting, he'll
- 12:26Speaker 2: take money this way, that way, and the other.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It shows me that he needs money or wants it
- 12:31Speaker 2: because he's not relying on Brittany.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It's not carte blanche. Yeah, it's not like he's, yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 2: He's not mooching.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:37Speaker 6: He is mooching. He's only getting it because he's with Brittany.
- 12:41Speaker 2: But he's not asking her to, you know, if he
- 12:44Speaker 2: wants to go do something or the other, he's not
- 12:47Speaker 2: having that get into her bank account.
- 12:49Speaker 6: What you're saying is he wants his own money. He's
- 12:51Speaker 6: not in her wallet.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 6: But everything he does is because of her.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Just like a pretty girl, okay, that marries a, let's say,
- 13:00Speaker 5: successful sports star. She starts getting followers. She becomes an influencer.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Now she has brand deals. you know, did it help
- 13:08Speaker 5: that she married and was in the, you know, at
- 13:10Speaker 5: Superbowl and, you know, met some other powerful people.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I feel that the same for him. He's a good
- 13:15Speaker 1: looking guy. He's can act. He's done enough stuff.
- 13:19Speaker 2: He could have been an influencer on his own because
- 13:22Speaker 2: all these fitness influencers in Los Angeles have large followings
- 13:26Speaker 2: and make their money. And he was a trainer before
- 13:29Speaker 2: he was Mr. Brittany.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:31Speaker 5: And now of course he has a lot of followers
- 13:33Speaker 5: because she's tagged him and whatnot.
- 13:35Speaker 1: So, you know, Like, I don't think... But I think
- 13:38Speaker 1: that's good that he's.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Are doing those things and he is taking these parts
- 13:42Speaker 5: and he wants to make a name for himself.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And he has been with her longer than any other relationship. Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Longer than her husband and father of her children, Kevin Federline.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Longer than Justin Timberlake. They've been together almost six years.
- 13:55Speaker 5: And then people are like, why does he let her
- 13:57Speaker 5: roll around in the sand and naked and.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Wear the same... Because it makes her happy. But exactly.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm like, well, you guys all wanted.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Yeah, what's this let her?
- 14:05Speaker 1: Like, this is her thing. Like, he's smart enough to
- 14:08Speaker 1: know I'm not going to be the guy that says,
- 14:11Speaker 1: you know what, these brown pumps need to go.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Although I do think about that and it worries me.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I wonder if he's constantly on eggshells, like afraid to
- 14:20Speaker 2: be somebody to tell her the truth. If she needs
- 14:23Speaker 2: to hear no sometimes, he doesn't tell her no because
- 14:27Speaker 2: that might piss Brittany off and then he'll be cut out.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Well, someone asked me, they said, Heather, please figure out
- 14:34Speaker 1: why she didn't have better hair and makeup on her wedding.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I thought she looked good.
- 14:38Speaker 1: She looked fine.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I couldn't see any visible extensions.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Okay, but I think it's exactly this. The few people
- 14:45Speaker 1: around her.
- 14:47Speaker 5: They're like, hey, do you want me to bring in
- 14:49Speaker 5: a makeup artist or hair person?
- 14:51Speaker 1: And she's like, no, I'm good. No, no, no. And
- 14:53Speaker 1: we're like, okay.
- 14:53Speaker 2: She had one of the best makeup artists, Charlotte Tillsbury.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I understand that she just used the products. Oh.
- 15:00Speaker 2: But I'll tell you the real reason. I thought it
- 15:03Speaker 2: was actually Charlotte Tillsbury that did Britney's makeup, but I
- 15:05Speaker 2: could be wrong.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Someone will correct us, I'm sure.
- 15:08Speaker 2: From what I understand, those close to her, is that
- 15:12Speaker 2: for a myriad of reasons, she... And I'm not going
- 15:16Speaker 2: to diagnose her with anything, but she just can't sit
- 15:19Speaker 2: still for long periods of time. And if you want
- 15:22Speaker 2: movie star hair and makeup, that takes hours.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:27Speaker 2: And Brittany does not choose to sit for that long.
- 15:31Speaker 1: That's what I totally think. That's exactly, that makes a
- 15:33Speaker 1: lot of sense.
- 15:34Speaker 5: Okay, so is Tori and Dean divorcing or what?
- 15:38Speaker 2: Well, I read they're not going to divorce anytime soon
- 15:41Speaker 2: because it's expensive. Lawyer fees and then what she might
- 15:45Speaker 2: have to pay him. So they're happy with the status
- 15:47Speaker 2: quo for the time being.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Of just not really being a couple but staying married,
- 15:51Speaker 5: which I can totally understand.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah. And actually, he recently is still doing some acting,
- 15:59Speaker 2: but I think he's had a normal job too. I
- 16:02Speaker 2: think he opened a boxing gym.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 16:05Speaker 2: And he's involved in that.
- 16:06Speaker 1: In Canada or here?
- 16:08Speaker 2: In California.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 16:09Speaker 2: In the Valley somewhere. Diversify. You got to do it.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 5: And so your thing was that she snubbed him because
- 16:16Speaker 5: she hung out with Lance and Michael, Lance Bass.
- 16:19Speaker 2: She snubbed him publicly. But we live in such a
- 16:22Speaker 2: performative world that if Tori Spelling wishes gay dad Lance
- 16:28Speaker 2: Bass a happy Father's Day and not her baby daddy
- 16:31Speaker 2: and husband, then people read into that.
- 16:34Speaker 1: And she wants us to talk about it. I think
- 16:37Speaker 1: she wants us to talk about it. I like her.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I've met her. I like her too.
- 16:40Speaker 5: And I've been like, what's the deal? And she's just like,
- 16:43Speaker 5: you know, like, so I kind of feel.
- 16:45Speaker 1: She won't talk about it.
- 16:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 1: So I feel like, no, I don't think they're like
- 16:49Speaker 1: madly in love.
- 16:49Speaker 5: I think they're a couple that have been together 15 years,
- 16:51Speaker 5: but I think they're kind of like, whatever. Like that
- 16:55Speaker 5: one day that you remember the paparazzi caught her. And
- 16:58Speaker 5: she's like on the phone yelling and she had this
- 17:00Speaker 5: legal pad and like written on it was like child support.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I was like, come on, Tori. That was so set up.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I love you, girl. I don't blame it.
- 17:09Speaker 2: That was a Spencer and Heidi moment.
- 17:11Speaker 5: That was so 2006. Like so set up. I was like,
- 17:15Speaker 5: come on.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Do you have a theory as to why her late father,
- 17:19Speaker 2: Aaron Spelling, truly left her nearly nothing of his hundred
- 17:24Speaker 2: plus million dollar empire?
- 17:26Speaker 7: My theory was that Someday, at some whatever age, 45, 50,
- 17:33Speaker 7: he would acquiesce to everything and say, you could finally
- 17:36Speaker 7: have the money. I never believed he was going to completely.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Cut her out for her whole life.
- 17:41Speaker 2: But he did.
- 17:42Speaker 6: But he has.
- 17:42Speaker 7: He seemingly has. He had such disdain for her, and
- 17:46Speaker 7: I just do not.
- 17:47Speaker 6: He must have.
- 17:49Speaker 2: No, no.
- 17:49Speaker 1: He must have. This is what happened.
- 17:51Speaker 2: His wife, Candy, got in his ear.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Listen, if I.
- 17:56Speaker 1: If I died, okay, my husband, who is the father
- 17:59Speaker 1: of my kids, he gets everything until he dies. My
- 18:03Speaker 1: kids don't get something.
- 18:05Speaker 2: But you and I don't have spelling and money. Thank you.
- 18:08Speaker 6: And I was just going to say, this is a
- 18:10Speaker 6: different kind of money, though.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I know.
- 18:13Speaker 5: But her mom, Candy, has been the mom. She's not
- 18:17Speaker 5: the second wife. She's not the stepmother. So in doing
- 18:20Speaker 5: all this stuff, the mother was always there. And I
- 18:23Speaker 5: think she was.
- 18:24Speaker 2: But he should have known... what kind of a woman
- 18:27Speaker 2: Candy Spelling was. I don't think he did.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I think he was madly in love with her.
- 18:30Speaker 5: And I think he acquiesced to her decorating the house,
- 18:33Speaker 5: doing all these things. She was a younger wife for him,
- 18:37Speaker 5: but she is the mother of both the kids. And
- 18:40Speaker 5: so I just think it was, they did get a
- 18:43Speaker 5: little bit, which to a normal.
- 18:45Speaker 6: Person 20 years ago.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I think the brother got a lot more.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I don't think so. I remember reading the books. No,
- 18:51Speaker 1: he's like a life coach in Oregon. No, he's not.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He should have just set up like a yearly stipend
- 18:58Speaker 2: for the kids. Like every year you each get $ 300, 000
- 19:02Speaker 2: or whatever it is.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Well, I was talking to somebody, I won't say his name,
- 19:05Speaker 5: but he's, you know, has a lot of money and
- 19:07Speaker 5: he's like a media person.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Oh, I have another scoop for you, but go ahead.
- 19:09Speaker 1: A media person.
- 19:11Speaker 5: And we were kind of talking about this and his
- 19:14Speaker 5: wife is the mother of his three kids and his
- 19:16Speaker 5: only wife. And he said, oh, hell no. I have
- 19:19Speaker 5: a separate thing for all my kids. I'm not going
- 19:21Speaker 5: to die. Let her marry someone else. And not, and
- 19:24Speaker 5: I was like, Like, to me, being this old-fashioned married lady,
- 19:29Speaker 5: I didn't really think that, like, you know.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But, you know, I think more people are thinking that.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Like, do I want the stepdad or the stepchildren for
- 19:40Speaker 5: the money that I left for my kids to have
- 19:42Speaker 5: my wife be in charge of it, take care of
- 19:44Speaker 5: those kids, or that wedding comes first? And so people
- 19:48Speaker 5: need to think more about not just that. it all
- 19:50Speaker 5: to the living spouse.
- 19:51Speaker 2: That's why I will never marry unless I marry up
- 19:55Speaker 2: somebody with more money. Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Cause you have three kids. Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Christmas shopping has already started in our house. My daughter
- 20:02Speaker 3: is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay. Hair
- 20:06Speaker 3: care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for her bestie.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm
- 20:11Speaker 3: an early bird, buying one present a week from now
- 20:13Speaker 3: till Christmas, which makes budgeting less stressful. I can buy
- 20:16Speaker 3: in-store or online from Macaulay.ie for home delivery or free
- 20:21Speaker 3: click and collect.
- 20:22Speaker 1: So easy.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Gifts they'll cherish at prices you'll love.
- 20:28Speaker 4: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 20:31Speaker 4: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 20:34Speaker 4: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 20:39Speaker 4: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 20:47Speaker 1: filed against me.
- 20:48Speaker 2: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 20:50Speaker 2: what would you do if it was given back?
- 20:52Speaker 4: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 20:55Speaker 4: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 20:58Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 20:59Speaker 2: home dad. What happens next?
- 21:01Speaker 1: When I came in, he started crying.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 21:07Speaker 4: those hard moments that they go through.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It's about what happens next.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I decided to risk it all. I realized how valuable
- 21:14Speaker 1: every day was.
- 21:14Speaker 2: You're worth the work.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches. You can
- 21:18Speaker 1: use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 21:20Speaker 4: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 21:34Speaker 2: So here's the scoop. I know Tori. I know Dean.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I know a ton of their friends. So somebody in
- 21:40Speaker 2: spelling land told me that contrary to what Candy's spelling
- 21:46Speaker 2: has put out there, that Candy does not pay for
- 21:50Speaker 2: the private schooling of her grandchildren. So clearly somebody's lying.
- 21:57Speaker 2: They go to.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Public school now, I think.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why she put them in Hidden Hills because
- 22:02Speaker 5: the school's are kind of good. She's tried different stuff
- 22:06Speaker 5: for them. She's, you know, like any parent, not every
- 22:08Speaker 5: school works for every child and she's got five kids.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah. But, There's so much money.
- 22:13Speaker 1: They have had moments where they've gotten together.
- 22:15Speaker 2: There's so much money though.
- 22:16Speaker 5: They have had moments where they've gotten together and had
- 22:18Speaker 5: fun and all this.
- 22:20Speaker 1: But she's not suffering, you guys. She's in Hidden Hills.
- 22:23Speaker 1: The kids are fine.
- 22:24Speaker 2: She does a lot of work.
- 22:25Speaker 6: She had, Right. The house is probably paid for.
- 22:28Speaker 2: She's got a podcast of her own.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Like I'm saying, like, It's not, it would be different
- 22:32Speaker 5: if she worked at a dry cleaner and you'd be like,
- 22:34Speaker 5: my God, Candy's failing.
- 22:36Speaker 2: She's not at TJ Maxx like Amber Heard.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Isn't this honestly, isn't her story kind of the story
- 22:43Speaker 5: that people want it to be when you're super wealthy?
- 22:46Speaker 1: Like, make your own thing.
- 22:48Speaker 5: Like, you were handed a show and you did well
- 22:51Speaker 5: on it and you continue to be a star for
- 22:53Speaker 5: the last 30 years. Like, she's continued to stay relevant,
- 22:56Speaker 5: continued to step, like, Yeah, I don't think Candy would
- 23:01Speaker 5: ever let them, like, literally be homeless. But it's like Candy, like,
- 23:04Speaker 5: you know, I've read that Candy thinks that she does overspend.
- 23:07Speaker 5: And she does, you know, have maybe a.
- 23:09Speaker 1: So maybe.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Look, Candy loves Tori. They have had their moments where
- 23:15Speaker 5: they do get together. They do enjoy each other. But
- 23:19Speaker 5: it is a weird thing.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Thankfully, my mom and I don't have that kind of relationship.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on. Okay. Okay. How do you feel
- 23:29Speaker 1: about the new Hulu show, Show Kardashians? Let's just talk
- 23:32Speaker 1: about Kardashians for a minute. Everything about it.
- 23:36Speaker 6: What are you looking at me?
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'll start with Kim.
- 23:40Speaker 2: I don't want to do all the talking. I was
- 23:41Speaker 2: giving you the nonverbal cue to speak.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Let's just talk about Kim.
- 23:47Speaker 6: Let's talk about Kim.
- 23:47Speaker 5: I think it's so interesting, you know, famous people like
- 23:51Speaker 5: Madonna and, you know, change their look.
- 23:54Speaker 1: And for 10 years, she....
- 23:57Speaker 5: Was very tan, wore braids, had a big ass. Now
- 24:01Speaker 5: she's 30 pounds thinner, got rid of her.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Ass, has blonde hair.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Chloe got rid of her ass, too.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Yes, and has the blonde hair. Both are very thin.
- 24:09Speaker 5: She looks like Christine Quinn. She's dressing like Christine Quinn
- 24:12Speaker 5: from Selling Sunset. She's with her boyfriend, you know, Pete Davidson,
- 24:16Speaker 5: so they match. Now they have the blonde hair, they're skinny.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And they match.
- 24:20Speaker 5: And I just think that's interesting. Like, okay, now that's done.
- 24:25Speaker 5: We're done with the big asses. I'm so glad I
- 24:27Speaker 5: never had a big ass. And my mom always said, wait,
- 24:31Speaker 5: hang on to something long enough.
- 24:32Speaker 1: It'll come back in style. And my same ass is here.
- 24:35Speaker 2: She probably puts, like, she, and in a way she
- 24:38Speaker 2: kind of is. It almost seems weird to say that
- 24:41Speaker 2: she's on a Beyonce level. But she kind of is.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:46Speaker 2: If you remember, I think it was an ABC interview
- 24:49Speaker 2: like a decade or more ago.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Beyonce.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Beyonce. gave us a peek at the warehouse where she
- 24:55Speaker 2: stores all of her clothes in the archives. And Kim
- 24:58Speaker 2: has that too. She treats herself like Beyonce, so she's
- 25:04Speaker 2: probably premeditated. All right, what's going to be my look?
- 25:07Speaker 2: What am I going to do this year? Oh, I've
- 25:09Speaker 2: got to get rid of the butt. And I've got
- 25:11Speaker 2: to do this because I want to do that. And
- 25:13Speaker 2: I want to start this trend. In 10 years, she's
- 25:15Speaker 2: going to become.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Where Madonna is now, which is so desperate.
- 25:26Speaker 1: No, I hope not.
- 25:27Speaker 2: So desperate. And I say that with love because I
- 25:29Speaker 2: worship Madonna. She's my number one artist of all time.
- 25:32Speaker 1: See, I think in 10 years.
- 25:35Speaker 1: North will be 18 or 19.
- 25:37Speaker 5: You think she'll be like Chris and a momager?
- 25:41Speaker 1: Yeah, she'll.
- 25:41Speaker 2: No.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Because she's a lot like me.
- 25:44Speaker 1: You're right. You're right. I don't know.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Kim is a lot like me in that we love
- 25:49Speaker 2: the fame game.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:50Speaker 2: We love being famous or in my case infamous. Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And not everybody's cut out for it. She clearly is.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Some of her sisters aren't. Actually, Kylie. Kendall, I never
- 26:02Speaker 2: thought would be on the new Hulu show that much.
- 26:04Speaker 2: But Kylie isn't even on it that much compared to
- 26:07Speaker 2: her sisters.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Because she doesn't love the fame game as much as
- 26:11Speaker 2: Kim does.
- 26:11Speaker 1: And she doesn't have to. She didn't ask for it.
- 26:13Speaker 1: She was literally born into it.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Exactly. But Kim loves it. That's why she's actually... She
- 26:21Speaker 2: is very smart. She puts thought into everything, right? She's like, okay,
- 26:25Speaker 2: I'm kind of done with my naked selfie phase.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:30Speaker 2: But in 10 years, the naked selfie is going to
- 26:32Speaker 2: come back when she's in her 50s.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Like Madonna.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I'm telling you. In 10 years' time,
- 26:36Speaker 2: she's going to be what Madonna is today, like doing
- 26:39Speaker 2: really cringy videos and trolling on purpose. Yes. Knowing that
- 26:47Speaker 2: what they're doing is dumb and stupid and dumb, but
- 26:53Speaker 2: it's cheap, lazy and effective because it'll get engagement. At
- 26:56Speaker 2: the end of the day, that's all they care about
- 26:58Speaker 2: is the attention.
- 26:59Speaker 7: Here's my angle on this. They're not that fascinating to me.
- 27:04Speaker 7: I'm fascinated by people that are truly fascinated by them.
- 27:09Speaker 7: like these mundane, does she have, does she, is her
- 27:12Speaker 7: ass bigger or is it smaller? I mean, I'm fascinated by.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Some of them because like Chloe, for example, like, The
- 27:20Speaker 2: decisions that she makes. Like, I'm just trying to, I'm
- 27:23Speaker 2: fascinated on a psychological level. Like, why do you do
- 27:26Speaker 2: what you do? But what decision?
- 27:28Speaker 6: Like, dating a basketball player over and over?
- 27:30Speaker 2: Taking him back after he keeps screwing her over.
- 27:32Speaker 7: That's just people out of touch with any semblance of reality.
- 27:37Speaker 7: I mean, her options are basketball players, hip hop, famous people,
- 27:41Speaker 7: other famous people.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Actually, she's now a legend.
- 27:43Speaker 7: But doing the same thing over and over doesn't shock me.
- 27:46Speaker 7: She's allegedly dating a normal dude now. Somebody that works in, like, investment, finance.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 27:53Speaker 5: That's been my dream, but I didn't think it could
- 27:54Speaker 5: ever happen. I would love for her to just to
- 27:56Speaker 5: be with like a dude.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Like within the Hollywood circle, connected finance person, but not.
- 28:03Speaker 1: A traveling basketball player. Well, yeah. I mean, I, I mean,
- 28:09Speaker 1: I think it's great. I really didn't watch the series.
- 28:13Speaker 6: I feel, you know, have you watched in years?
- 28:16Speaker 5: A little bit here and there, but I feel like
- 28:18Speaker 5: we know everything and I do report on it in
- 28:20Speaker 5: the show.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I think it's been a huge success.
- 28:23Speaker 5: So I'm like, but I can understand why some people,
- 28:25Speaker 5: I'm like, look, it's the kind of thing that if
- 28:27Speaker 5: I was like laying around or something and it was on,
- 28:30Speaker 5: I probably would watch all eight as.
- 28:32Speaker 1: I'm doing other things. Like I do.
- 28:34Speaker 6: So you watch for comfort.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Once I get into it, I do like it. I mean,
- 28:38Speaker 5: I love their homes and their style and everything. And
- 28:40Speaker 5: there are some fun stuff. But I also feel like
- 28:42Speaker 5: there was no scoop we were going to get because
- 28:45Speaker 5: we saw it all.
- 28:46Speaker 2: In the world. Well, the same thing happened at the
- 28:49Speaker 2: other show, too. I do think they missed the opportunity,
- 28:54Speaker 2: which they said they were going to fix, but they
- 28:55Speaker 2: clearly didn't, of being way more timely. They're not beholden
- 29:00Speaker 2: to cable. They could release an episode days after something happens,
- 29:06Speaker 2: but they're not doing it that way. Why? Because they're lazy.
- 29:10Speaker 2: It's easier to do things far in advance and you
- 29:13Speaker 2: know what your schedule is going to be like and
- 29:14Speaker 2: it requires less hours doing it.
- 29:16Speaker 1: The way they did. And they did a lot of people,
- 29:18Speaker 1: the sleuths that are, you know.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Faking things.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Caught a lot of reenactments, which they did the very
- 29:24Speaker 1: first time.
- 29:24Speaker 2: It's an unscripted show. It's not a reality show. Right.
- 29:27Speaker 5: When Chloe got arrested for her DUI, the first season,
- 29:33Speaker 5: they reenacted the whole thing, you know.
- 29:37Speaker 1: So we knew that that was, you know, what. There
- 29:40Speaker 1: are moments of realness. Yes, they're still themselves.
- 29:44Speaker 5: They still get in arguments and they still have fun
- 29:47Speaker 5: conversations just being free.
- 29:49Speaker 1: So, like, it is what it is.
- 29:51Speaker 2: But, they will be studied and probably are already in
- 29:55Speaker 2: college courses, the rise and dominance of the Kardashians.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Well, this is social media.
- 30:03Speaker 5: I'm always like there, you know, anybody that's making money
- 30:06Speaker 5: off of social media today has, has to thank them,
- 30:09Speaker 5: but it's not, they were the first to start that.
- 30:11Speaker 2: It's not even because of social media. I think, all right,
- 30:13Speaker 2: I'll give you my, my, it's all boils down to
- 30:16Speaker 2: Kanye really briefly. Like, If it were not for Kanye,
- 30:19Speaker 2: they would not be who they are today. Did I
- 30:21Speaker 2: say this when I was on your.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Show last time? Okay, yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 6: I don't buy this rap already.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Oh, it is.
- 30:25Speaker 6: It goes way before.
- 30:27Speaker 2: No.
- 30:27Speaker 7: It's Father Knows Best and it's peeking into rich people's lives.
- 30:30Speaker 2: No, it's Kardashian. Guys. You have to think about... where
- 30:33Speaker 2: they were when Kim started dating Kanye. They were at
- 30:37Speaker 2: their lowest low. No. It was right after Kim got
- 30:41Speaker 2: married to Chris Humphries, and that lasted a few months.
- 30:44Speaker 2: The ratings weren't huge. I wouldn't have been surprised if
- 30:47Speaker 2: it didn't last that much longer on E!, but Kanye
- 30:50Speaker 2: not just elevated Kim Kardashian. he elevated her entire family.
- 30:55Speaker 2: She was not an A-lister in 2011. The fashion houses
- 30:59Speaker 2: wouldn't lend her clothes. She wouldn't get invited to all
- 31:01Speaker 2: of the runway shows. She would have never been to
- 31:03Speaker 2: the Met Gala or on the cover of Vogue magazine.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Kanye made Kim an A-lister and turned her career trajectory
- 31:10Speaker 2: and that of her entire family around. around and way.
- 31:14Speaker 7: Up but can't you just say that's the sign of
- 31:16Speaker 7: the times where people just don't want to participate in
- 31:19Speaker 7: this anymore there's a there's a section of faction of
- 31:22Speaker 7: people that just say i don't want that it's gross
- 31:25Speaker 7: i don't want to be famous i just want to
- 31:27Speaker 7: be an actor i just think it's a different day
- 31:30Speaker 7: they're willing participants.
- 31:31Speaker 2: You could still be an old school a-lister without participating
- 31:35Speaker 2: for example I love music. Look at Dua Lipa. I
- 31:39Speaker 2: would say she's an A-lister. She doesn't have to play
- 31:42Speaker 2: the game. She's just releasing hit after hit after hit
- 31:45Speaker 2: and she's an A-lister. And, you know, I don't even
- 31:51Speaker 2: know what I was getting at.
- 31:52Speaker 1: I knew you lost it.
- 31:54Speaker 6: I do think when.
- 31:55Speaker 5: You're talking about where she'd be in like 10 years
- 31:58Speaker 5: like Madonna, I think that she's someone that, you know,
- 32:03Speaker 5: once she's like in her 80s, I think she'll have
- 32:05Speaker 5: had like seven husbands.
- 32:07Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Like Elizabeth the tailor. Four? No.
- 32:12Speaker 6: The redhead?
- 32:13Speaker 1: No, she's only had three husbands.
- 32:15Speaker 6: She's only had three husbands.
- 32:16Speaker 2: I'm already considering her. She's going to marry Pete.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I think she's going to marry Pete, too. I think
- 32:20Speaker 1: they're going to get married.
- 32:21Speaker 2: And they're going to have children. She's going to have
- 32:23Speaker 2: at least two more. Because she has surrogates. I'm sure
- 32:27Speaker 2: she has eggs frozen.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Well, she probably has embryos frozen, which is Kanye's.
- 32:32Speaker 2: She probably has both.
- 32:34Speaker 1: If she has both.
- 32:35Speaker 2: When you have enough money, you can do it all.
- 32:37Speaker 1: I think she's probably smart enough to have done both.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:40Speaker 5: But I think she also might be smart enough to say,
- 32:43Speaker 5: I want to get married and I want to have
- 32:46Speaker 5: another wedding and this love affair, but I'm done having kids.
- 32:49Speaker 1: She's not done.
- 32:51Speaker 2: She had so many siblings.
- 32:52Speaker 1: If you have to bet.
- 32:54Speaker 2: She won't have more than two. I say she has
- 32:56Speaker 2: two kids.
- 32:56Speaker 5: I think she's more likely to get married, no kids,
- 32:59Speaker 5: and you're saying married and kids.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Married and twins. Twins. So that it's not, like, spaced out.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Mark this prediction. We will see who wins.
- 33:08Speaker 2: All right. Okay.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Okay, are you watching Real Housewives of Dubai?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 33:15Speaker 5: What's your scoop on Dubai and chicks going there to
- 33:18Speaker 5: do disgusting things for money?
- 33:20Speaker 2: It's bizarre to me because they could end up in jail.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Who could end up in jail?
- 33:26Speaker 6: The people on the show.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Yeah, because they're very, from my understanding, like, I think
- 33:32Speaker 2: that tourists are allowed to drink, but people from Dubai
- 33:36Speaker 2: that are natives can't have alcohol.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Okay, so wait.
- 33:40Speaker 2: And if I'm gay, I can't really be gay in Dubai.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That's not cool.
- 33:46Speaker 6: These people are protected.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yes, I get that. But you've crossed the wrong person
- 33:52Speaker 2: or the wrong line.
- 33:53Speaker 6: But Dubai has an image problem, and they know that there.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Russia has an image problem, and that female basketball player
- 33:59Speaker 2: is still in prison there for weed. Right. Almost like
- 34:03Speaker 2: five months.
- 34:03Speaker 6: Now or six months. Dubai is trying to be something different.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Dubai is– Yeah, but they're still under the Muslim law. Right.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Well, what– I've watched the show and what Caroline Stansbury
- 34:15Speaker 5: says who.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Was– She's British. I know that. She was on a
- 34:18Speaker 2: different reality show before.
- 34:19Speaker 5: She was walking through Atlantis in a crop top and
- 34:22Speaker 5: she said a lot of people asked me about– she's
- 34:24Speaker 5: like– No, you can wear whatever you want, but it's
- 34:29Speaker 5: about respect. So you might want to be more respectful
- 34:32Speaker 5: in your clothing, but you can. As of someone who's
- 34:37Speaker 5: just living there as an expat, you can. So I'm
- 34:40Speaker 5: just saying, I don't know.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I do love, I love reality stars that bring it back.
- 34:49Speaker 2: And professional reality stars, you know, like that chick that
- 34:52Speaker 2: you just mentioned.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Caroline.
- 34:53Speaker 2: She's done another show before, so she knows the job,
- 34:57Speaker 2: you know? Yeah. The job is do whatever it takes
- 35:00Speaker 2: to not be boring.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh.
- 35:02Speaker 1: There's this great scene with she and– Do you have clips?
- 35:06Speaker 2: Can we watch?
- 35:06Speaker 1: I don't have any clips, but it's– I think it's–
- 35:08Speaker 1: I can't.
- 35:08Speaker 6: You have big clips.
- 35:09Speaker 5: First of all, it's a little hard because, like, okay,
- 35:12Speaker 5: there's Caroline, but then there's these two black girls– And
- 35:16Speaker 5: they look very similar. And then the two Persian girls
- 35:18Speaker 5: look very similar. I say Persian because one's Lebanese, one,
- 35:22Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I like the diversity.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Yeah, the diversity is good, but you're learning about all
- 35:28Speaker 5: these new people. And I'm just saying it's like, so
- 35:30Speaker 5: I can't remember who Caroline had the conversation with.
- 35:33Speaker 1: It was one of the Middle Eastern girls, but she
- 35:35Speaker 1: has a conversation with her.
- 35:36Speaker 5: And it was like, they're sitting there and she's like, Well,
- 35:42Speaker 5: you know, when I first met you, you know, one
- 35:46Speaker 5: girl goes, you know, Caroline, I, you know, I didn't
- 35:49Speaker 5: think you liked me when you first met me.
- 35:51Speaker 1: And she's like, well, I didn't.
- 35:53Speaker 5: It's not that I didn't like you. It's just I
- 35:55Speaker 5: don't like small talk. So therefore, I don't I just
- 36:00Speaker 5: saw you as someone at parties.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Who I didn't want to have small talk with. And
- 36:04Speaker 1: then she's like, oh, well.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Our mutual friends thought that we would really be friendly, um,
- 36:10Speaker 5: and really get along. But when I saw you so painful,
- 36:13Speaker 5: when I saw you, Caroline, um, a lot of P
- 36:16Speaker 5: you know, this, and then Caroline goes, well, I just
- 36:18Speaker 5: always thought you're boring. Well, a lot of people think
- 36:21Speaker 5: I'm boring because those people don't receive my attention.
- 36:27Speaker 1: So I was like, Oh my God. I was like,
- 36:28Speaker 1: who was trying to dislike worse. And then we're so different. Yes.
- 36:33Speaker 1: We're so different. But we could get along. But it's just,
- 36:37Speaker 1: it's not that I'm a bitch.
- 36:38Speaker 5: It's just that I don't partake in people that are beneath.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Like, it was so.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Like, that kind of conversation I hate because it's storyboarded. Like,
- 36:48Speaker 2: you're going to go there and you're going to have
- 36:50Speaker 2: a conversation about this. Then you have the unscripted conversation.
- 36:54Speaker 2: How you never liked each other. Yeah.
- 36:56Speaker 5: But it was, the point was, they were both like,
- 36:59Speaker 5: I still don't like you. Like, they clearly still don't
- 37:01Speaker 5: like each other, and now they're on this fucking show.
- 37:03Speaker 2: You know who I do like? Who I would love
- 37:05Speaker 2: to see doing American reality TV? One of the best
- 37:09Speaker 2: reality TV stars of all time is this British personality.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Her name is Gemma Collins.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Have you heard of her? I feel like it's a
- 37:17Speaker 1: little familiar, but I don't know her.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Oh my god, she's brilliant. You all spend... After you're
- 37:22Speaker 2: done watching and listening, make a mental note, spend five
- 37:26Speaker 2: to ten minutes just Google or search on across social media,
- 37:30Speaker 2: Gemma Collins. She's just like nonstop memes. Like she's so funny,
- 37:35Speaker 2: naturally funny and just got the, she's reality TV gold.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I would love, I will manifest that for her.
- 37:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:43Speaker 2: And I got to manifest me doing more reality television too.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Do you really even have time?
- 37:47Speaker 2: I would make time.
- 37:48Speaker 1: All right.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Television is what I need to be doing.
- 37:52Speaker 1: What is your thoughts on JLo, her halftime show? He
- 37:56Speaker 1: dated J-Lo's sister. Oh, I did a test pilot.
- 38:02Speaker 5: I tested for a talk show pilot with the sister
- 38:07Speaker 5: way back when. It would have been like 17 years ago.
- 38:12Speaker 7: I was dating her during that, and I do recall that.
- 38:16Speaker 5: And J-Lo was the EP, and it was going to
- 38:18Speaker 5: be a younger, hipper, more diverse view.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 38:24Speaker 5: And they like really liked me because I was like
- 38:26Speaker 5: married with a kid.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And God, I remember like showbiz.
- 38:31Speaker 2: It just didn't happen.
- 38:32Speaker 5: I remember they're like, asking me these questions, which I
- 38:35Speaker 5: didn't really realize what they're looking for. And they're like,
- 38:38Speaker 5: how do you feel about Arnold Schwarzenegger running for governor?
- 38:41Speaker 5: And at the time I was like, well, if he
- 38:43Speaker 5: can keep the entertainment industry here and not have it
- 38:46Speaker 5: go to Atlanta, like maybe it'll be.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Profitable for the state.
- 38:48Speaker 2: What were they trying to get at?
- 38:49Speaker 5: They were trying to like, see if I was a Republican,
- 38:51Speaker 5: I think. And I just was like, oh, and then
- 38:54Speaker 5: that was probably about, check it.
- 38:55Speaker 1: You know, like, I don't know. I would have pushed,
- 38:57Speaker 1: I would have been like, I think it's great. Like,
- 38:59Speaker 1: I didn't know what I was supposed to say to
- 39:01Speaker 1: get a job.
- 39:02Speaker 5: And anyway, it never went, I didn't get it, but
- 39:05Speaker 5: it also didn't go past the pilot stage. But what
- 39:10Speaker 5: did you think about when she said how the mom
- 39:12Speaker 5: beat the shit out of them?
- 39:14Speaker 2: Well, as a Latino myself, like, duh, that's really common.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I think.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I had the shit beat out of me by both
- 39:21Speaker 2: my parents.
- 39:21Speaker 6: I think all of us.
- 39:22Speaker 2: And my grandparents.
- 39:24Speaker 7: And if you grew up in the 70s or early 80s,
- 39:27Speaker 7: and if you didn't take a shot from your parents
- 39:29Speaker 7: at least once... a week, they weren't doing their job.
- 39:31Speaker 7: It's just a different day.
- 39:33Speaker 1: It's a different day and also culturally, yeah.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it can be that too.
- 39:36Speaker 2: La chancla, la chancleta, the woman's sandal. Sometimes if I
- 39:41Speaker 2: was real bad, I got my dad's belt.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I got the belt.
- 39:44Speaker 6: Oh, my dad had a paddle collection.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 39:48Speaker 6: He used to make us pick the paddle he was
- 39:49Speaker 6: going to hit us with.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Isn't that crazy?
- 39:50Speaker 1: I cannot imagine touching my child. I think actually... You can't?
- 39:53Speaker 3: No.
- 39:54Speaker 6: I don't have kids, but I wonder how I would...
- 39:57Speaker 6: Everyone says.
- 39:57Speaker 2: I think once you have.
- 39:58Speaker 1: The knowledge, now we know it's not good. It's not good.
- 40:03Speaker 1: You know, we still can strive from it, but it's not.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:08Speaker 5: I mean, enough studies have been known. I mean, cavemen
- 40:10Speaker 5: used to also pull their wives by their hair.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Like, you evolved.
- 40:13Speaker 6: I use that line all the time.
- 40:15Speaker 7: We are only a couple people away from dragging women
- 40:18Speaker 7: out of caves by their hair. How much change can
- 40:21Speaker 7: you expect everyone to have?
- 40:23Speaker 6: We are animals. That's what we are.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I went to an all-boy Jesuit school in Miami.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:29Speaker 2: And they had a paddle there.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:33Speaker 2: My school wow haven't.
- 40:35Speaker 7: You ever been hit by your principal like you never
- 40:37Speaker 7: went to the principal's office and taken away i don't
- 40:40Speaker 7: think that ever happened to me oh my god to
- 40:41Speaker 7: me and i don't think it happened regularly but.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Regular for me i feel like i went i went
- 40:46Speaker 5: to the catholic school right here and definitely that was
- 40:49Speaker 5: not happening when i was there anymore now.
- 40:52Speaker 6: My brother no knuckle cracking or.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Anything like that 10 years older they had some stories
- 40:56Speaker 5: like that but by the time i was there Miami
- 40:59Speaker 5: is a different story.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 41:00Speaker 6: I grew up in West Virginia. I'm sure they still
- 41:02Speaker 6: beat people there.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I love Jennifer Lopez, though.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Is this her last engagement?
- 41:09Speaker 2: No, but who cares? No.
- 41:11Speaker 6: Math says no.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I think the people who hate on her are jealous.
- 41:18Speaker 6: There's no reason.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I don't think there's many people who hate on her.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Oh, she's going to get married again or whatever. Who cares?
- 41:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 41:24Speaker 2: It would be a dream for me to stop dating
- 41:30Speaker 2: somebody and then a week later date somebody new that
- 41:33Speaker 2: I'm so into. That'd be great. I would fucking dive
- 41:37Speaker 2: into somebody new. I would jump. I would run so
- 41:40Speaker 2: hard into that.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I go back and forth with this prediction.
- 41:45Speaker 2: What prediction?
- 41:46Speaker 5: I've had this prediction come in and out of my head.
- 41:48Speaker 5: And sometimes I'm like, I totally could see it happen.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Then I'm like, you're crazy, Heather. That with Kim's eight
- 41:54Speaker 5: marriages I see happening, one will.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Be a brief... rekindling with Kanye. I don't know. I
- 42:01Speaker 1: go back and forth.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say something else.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I go back and forth, but I could almost see it.
- 42:05Speaker 2: I'll make a different prediction.
- 42:07Speaker 1: If things dip a little.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I'll make a different prediction. I don't think she'll get
- 42:11Speaker 2: back together with Kanye, but I do think at one point, Kim,
- 42:16Speaker 2: whether it be real or just for attention or a
- 42:19Speaker 2: combination of both, will date and maybe even marry Another
- 42:24Speaker 2: woman or a trans man.
- 42:27Speaker 1: That I say no. That I say no. Either one.
- 42:31Speaker 1: But it's all good. Jen Aniston pissed me off the
- 42:35Speaker 1: other day. Oh, she did?
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 42:36Speaker 6: What did she do?
- 42:37Speaker 1: Well, she did this interview. And this is always bothers me.
- 42:41Speaker 1: What interview was it? I saw her being interviewed by someone.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I can't remember. And she's like, you know, these people
- 42:48Speaker 1: are famous for nothing.
- 42:50Speaker 5: And they've really diluted, you know, what us actors have
- 42:54Speaker 5: done in entertainment. There's so many more people that could
- 42:56Speaker 5: be successful. There's so many more streaming things. And, you know,
- 43:00Speaker 5: these TikTokers that are suddenly famous are these YouTubers.
- 43:05Speaker 2: This makes me.
- 43:05Speaker 5: Crazy because I'm like, you are such a hypocrite. You know,
- 43:10Speaker 5: you did a show with all white people. When all
- 43:14Speaker 5: white people could have a job on the same show,
- 43:16Speaker 5: you know, and that's it. And nobody else could be
- 43:19Speaker 5: on it, whatever. And that's not her fault. And I
- 43:21Speaker 5: like her and she's successful. But what I don't like
- 43:23Speaker 5: about someone like this is like, you're just as thirsty
- 43:26Speaker 5: as the rest of us.
- 43:27Speaker 1: You're pimping your own products. You're doing reels. You're doing TikToks.
- 43:32Speaker 2: You're doing Instagram.
- 43:33Speaker 1: She's not doing any of it.
- 43:34Speaker 2: She has somebody do it for her.
- 43:35Speaker 1: No, but I'm saying like for so long, these people
- 43:38Speaker 1: are like.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Because she wants money.
- 43:39Speaker 5: I won't be on Instagram anymore. And it's like, OK,
- 43:42Speaker 5: I guess I eventually have to do it.
- 43:44Speaker 1: And the thing is.
- 43:45Speaker 2: That Johnny Depp is on Instagram and TikTok.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:48Speaker 5: And the thing is, when she when she does it,
- 43:51Speaker 5: she does what influencers have like about washing your face.
- 43:55Speaker 1: They do the exact same video. They don't even do
- 43:57Speaker 1: it different.
- 43:58Speaker 5: They do the videos that people are used to seeing
- 44:00Speaker 5: on that platform, which they did not invent. And all
- 44:03Speaker 5: I'm saying is that I think it's the same reason
- 44:05Speaker 5: when everybody.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Got a podcast. I'm like, can we have one fucking thing?
- 44:08Speaker 2: You know what? It's not even just about age. Yesterday, actually. Yesterday,
- 44:15Speaker 2: I watched an interview with Selena Gomez. She was doing
- 44:18Speaker 2: that Actors Roundtable. So it was her and other people.
- 44:22Speaker 2: And she said, yep, I'm not on Instagram. Instagram called me.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I'm so much happier when I'm not on social media.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I'm like, listen. I think now that I'm almost his age,
- 44:35Speaker 2: I have a lot more understanding about life. And I just,
- 44:39Speaker 2: I have more compassion for everybody. You know, everybody just wants.
- 44:44Speaker 1: To have me. But also I want to say.
- 44:46Speaker 2: But also I want to.
- 44:48Speaker 5: Say, Selena Gomez, It's a luxury not to have to
- 44:52Speaker 5: be on social media.
- 44:53Speaker 6: True that.
- 44:54Speaker 5: No way could you and I survive without being on
- 44:57Speaker 5: social media, posting three times a day, writing back people.
- 45:01Speaker 5: It's a whole other job that is not going away
- 45:04Speaker 5: that we have to.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Be part of.
- 45:06Speaker 5: So if you are at Selena Gomez level or even
- 45:09Speaker 5: like a Justin Bieber, whatever, and you all of a
- 45:11Speaker 5: sudden say, I'm done with it. I don't want to
- 45:13Speaker 5: be on anymore. I'm not going to be on it.
- 45:15Speaker 5: Or even a Pete Davidson. I don't need to be
- 45:17Speaker 5: on it.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I just... married the queen of it.
- 45:19Speaker 7: So you're upset about her not respecting other people's hustle. Yeah.
- 45:23Speaker 6: That's what it is for you. I'm just trying to
- 45:25Speaker 6: get to the bottom of that.
- 45:26Speaker 1: No, it's like hypocritical.
- 45:27Speaker 5: And I just hate that when people say, you know, like, oh,
- 45:31Speaker 5: I'm better than you because I... went on auditions, and
- 45:34Speaker 5: my dad happened to be on a soap, and I
- 45:36Speaker 5: was able to get an agent.
- 45:37Speaker 2: And I was hot.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I had 18 pilots before Friends.
- 45:41Speaker 5: So you were already in this tiny, tiny hole that
- 45:43Speaker 5: they would constantly throw stuff at. I'm the person that
- 45:45Speaker 5: went out for these pilots that was first round, because
- 45:49Speaker 5: I wasn't going to be in the final round unless
- 45:52Speaker 5: I wrote it myself. So I'm like, you had it
- 45:54Speaker 5: already so fucking easy. And then you got in the
- 45:58Speaker 5: show and we saw that you were talented. But just
- 46:00Speaker 5: to get there, you had it so easy. So like
- 46:03Speaker 5: to then bag on people that are making that are
- 46:06Speaker 5: a star in Oklahoma being a tick tock.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Thank God they're there. They have this opportunity. And it's
- 46:11Speaker 1: not just down to this tiny, tiny elite group of people.
- 46:14Speaker 2: You have to remember she's been and I'm not making
- 46:17Speaker 2: excuses for her. I think it's lame. I think elitism, snobbery,
- 46:21Speaker 2: it's hypocritical. It's it's. It serves nobody. She's not better
- 46:25Speaker 2: than me in anything. Right. We're equals.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I agree.
- 46:28Speaker 2: She's not better than anybody watching or listening right now.
- 46:32Speaker 2: She might think she is. The thing is, though, that
- 46:35Speaker 2: she's been an A-plus lister now for 30-plus years.
- 46:40Speaker 6: Why is she doing this stuff?
- 46:42Speaker 2: Because you can never have enough money.
- 46:44Speaker 1: And you like the... And you like being relevant and
- 46:47Speaker 1: she's known for her hair. So she's great.
- 46:49Speaker 5: She used to have this other company, living proof.
- 46:51Speaker 1: She left living proof something. Now this is maybe she
- 46:54Speaker 1: wasn't the full owner of it.
- 46:56Speaker 5: And now they're doing the Kylie Jenner product where you
- 47:00Speaker 5: created all yourself own a hundred percent. So this hair
- 47:03Speaker 5: stuff is her a hundred percent.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Courtney does sprays for your house and all of that.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Is there a product that you would like to release
- 47:13Speaker 2: that you haven't yet?
- 47:14Speaker 1: You know, I mean, people, we've thought about stuff like that.
- 47:18Speaker 5: And, like, yeah, if something came, but, like, I only
- 47:20Speaker 5: have so much time.
- 47:22Speaker 1: And, like, it was funny because we were watching Hacks.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Are you watching Hacks?
- 47:25Speaker 2: He's phenomenal.
- 47:26Speaker 5: Watching Hacks, I freaking love it, right? And my son
- 47:29Speaker 5: is like, wait, what does this lady do? I'm like,
- 47:30Speaker 5: she's like me, but she's, like, 25 years old or
- 47:33Speaker 5: maybe 20 years older than me.
- 47:34Speaker 1: And she's, like, did it.
- 47:36Speaker 5: And I go, and she's just, you know, I'm talking
- 47:37Speaker 5: about what's going on in season two. And he's like, oh,
- 47:40Speaker 5: so is this your dream, Mom?
- 47:42Speaker 1: And I'm like, no. this is my dream. I'm sitting
- 47:46Speaker 1: on the couch. I love what I do.
- 47:48Speaker 5: You're home helping me. We're watching, like, honestly, it's not,
- 47:53Speaker 5: it's not that. And I, I kind of realized I
- 47:55Speaker 5: didn't have that like crazy ambition. I won't turn anything down,
- 47:59Speaker 5: but it's, I think there's people in my field that
- 48:01Speaker 5: are like, I have to get that daytime talk show
- 48:04Speaker 5: or I have to get that movie or that Oscar.
- 48:06Speaker 5: I have to get, I have to have a hundred
- 48:08Speaker 5: million dollars in the bank or whatever their, their vision
- 48:11Speaker 5: of like successes.
- 48:13Speaker 6: And I'm just, Well, you have a healthy response to it.
- 48:16Speaker 7: And I think most of the people that want those things,
- 48:20Speaker 7: it usually comes from an unhealthy place or it comes
- 48:23Speaker 7: from some sort of, they weren't getting some sort of
- 48:26Speaker 7: attention in their life.
- 48:27Speaker 6: And when you've come to.
- 48:28Speaker 7: That full reality of, this is great. Like, let me
- 48:31Speaker 7: just sit down for a second. I'm enjoying my life.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Sure.
- 48:35Speaker 7: Give me that deal where I could make an extra
- 48:37Speaker 7: hundred million so I could put a wing on the house.
- 48:40Speaker 7: That would be fantastic. But Just getting there, that's the goal.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I'm very happy.
- 48:45Speaker 7: But I'm more shocked by a Jennifer Aniston that would
- 48:50Speaker 7: say anything and would go ahead and promote something. Because
- 48:54Speaker 7: I know how much syndication money there is. She's rich
- 48:58Speaker 7: beyond our imagination. That's what just blows my mind. This
- 49:02Speaker 7: seems small to me.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Very few people are calling her out.
- 49:05Speaker 5: But I will, because I don't give a shit.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I'm not going to be the new host of Ellen.
- 49:11Speaker 5: I heard that she was asked to replace Ellen.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good scoop.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Who told me that?
- 49:15Speaker 5: Someone on my show told me that. We talked about
- 49:17Speaker 5: it on the show, yeah. That she was up for it.
- 49:20Speaker 5: I'm like, she should have taken it.
- 49:21Speaker 2: No, I'm glad she didn't because it would have flopped.
- 49:23Speaker 2: She doesn't have the personality for that.
- 49:25Speaker 5: Well, maybe that's also true. If you don't need the money,
- 49:28Speaker 5: the hunger's not there. And that's the other thing in
- 49:31Speaker 5: hiring someone to be a talk show host. I remember
- 49:34Speaker 5: this one executive told me, He's like, you don't want
- 49:37Speaker 5: someone so rich or so famous because they're not going
- 49:39Speaker 5: to fight for it. And it is a hard job.
- 49:42Speaker 5: You want to get them at the right level of
- 49:43Speaker 5: their career where they can bring an audience, but they
- 49:46Speaker 5: also will stay there for 10 years.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Well, Jennifer Hudson has a talk show that's going to
- 49:51Speaker 2: be premiering this fall.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I think that's a great idea.
- 49:53Speaker 2: I don't know if she has the personality for it.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Well, I think they realized with the success of Kelly Clarkson,
- 49:59Speaker 1: you know, I was just walking.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but Drew Barrymore is barely struggling along. I don't
- 50:04Speaker 2: think it's going to last yet another season, the Drew
- 50:06Speaker 2: Barrymore show.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Well, it definitely got picked up for another season.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yes, but I think they're doing it differently. They're doing, like,
- 50:12Speaker 2: two half-hour episodes. It's bizarre. They've kind of turned the
- 50:16Speaker 2: model on its head, so it's not an hour-long show anymore.
- 50:19Speaker 2: It's two half-hour episodes. And they also had to, like, cut...
- 50:23Speaker 2: corners and trim costs and get rid of people. Anyways,
- 50:28Speaker 2: I would.
- 50:28Speaker 5: But with Kelly Clarkson, I think the reason they pursued Jennifer.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Is the singing. Because it worked for her.
- 50:33Speaker 1: The singing, I think the singing is really nice.
- 50:36Speaker 5: Like, literally, I was just watching by the Kelly Clarkson
- 50:38Speaker 5: show and she was just singing, like, some song from
- 50:40Speaker 5: the weekend.
- 50:41Speaker 1: And I'm like.
- 50:42Speaker 5: But she's just such a great conversationalist, too.
- 50:45Speaker 2: It's not just the singing.
- 50:46Speaker 1: She's so, like, you know, relatable.
- 50:49Speaker 5: It was a perfect fit for her. She was the
- 50:51Speaker 5: perfect person they could have picked for... Daytime in this era.
- 50:55Speaker 5: But I think Jennifer could do good, too. But like
- 50:57Speaker 5: the Tong camera haul.
- 50:58Speaker 1: That didn't do well because she was like people like
- 51:02Speaker 1: I liked her.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I like her, though.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
- 51:05Speaker 5: I think I think it's also weird with all the
- 51:07Speaker 5: podcasts and stuff. I think people want to hear what
- 51:11Speaker 5: they want to hear. And so it's a very specific
- 51:14Speaker 5: audience that's still at home at two in the afternoon
- 51:17Speaker 5: that are going to watch the show.
- 51:18Speaker 2: And does anybody even watch TV, really? It's like, Kelly
- 51:21Speaker 2: does well because the singing, the clips could do well
- 51:24Speaker 2: on social media. Yes.
- 51:26Speaker 1: The singing is amazing.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Here's a little something that people may not know about me.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I'm extremely cheap.
- 51:33Speaker 6: I knew that.
- 51:34Speaker 2: I'm extremely cheap, but sometimes... You're very generous, though. That's
- 51:37Speaker 2: not true.
- 51:38Speaker 6: I'm very generous, but.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Also I'm a big impulse buyer with cheap things. I
- 51:43Speaker 2: won't buy expensive things. I watch a lot of YouTube.
- 51:48Speaker 2: That's what I watch. So I was watching a YouTube
- 51:50Speaker 2: video and there was an ad just before the video about,
- 51:54Speaker 2: do you feel tired? Caffeine is a lie. Yeah. It
- 51:58Speaker 2: promises to give you, it'll give you energy, but it
- 52:01Speaker 2: gives you anxiety and this and that. I'm like, I'm
- 52:02Speaker 2: trying to cut back on caffeine. So I, the thing
- 52:06Speaker 2: they were trying to sell me, I'm like, oh, that's
- 52:07Speaker 2: too expensive. So then I went on Amazon and bought
- 52:10Speaker 2: a cheap version of what they were trying to sell me,
- 52:12Speaker 2: which I don't know if you've heard about this. They
- 52:14Speaker 2: now have... A mushroom drink that's like coffee.
- 52:19Speaker 6: Cha-ching-o. They were going to be a.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Sponsor of our podcast.
- 52:22Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 52:23Speaker 1: It's fantastic.
- 52:23Speaker 7: I had it yesterday morning, not this morning.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Is it like a white mushroom or something?
- 52:27Speaker 6: I don't know. It's a mushroom base.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I just bought it. I haven't gotten it yet, but
- 52:31Speaker 2: I'm so excited to try it.
- 52:33Speaker 6: It's so great with coffee. And a little creamer.
- 52:35Speaker 2: You put it in your coffee?
- 52:36Speaker 6: Uh-huh. Well, you can make it different ways. You could
- 52:38Speaker 6: do iced coffee as well.
- 52:39Speaker 2: No, but the whole point is to not have the caffeine.
- 52:42Speaker 6: No, I need the caffeine.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Well, I know, but I want to try it because
- 52:44Speaker 2: I want to cut back on coffee anyways.
- 52:47Speaker 5: Do you watch, are you watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
- 52:51Speaker 2: I am not watching. I don't watch any television.
- 52:55Speaker 1: What do you think of these ladies?
- 52:55Speaker 2: He's not a TV person.
- 52:56Speaker 5: I know you know them because I went to your
- 52:58Speaker 5: birthday party years ago when you.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Had a blue party. Do you remember?
- 53:02Speaker 2: My blue ball. Yes.
- 53:03Speaker 1: And we all, and that was like the first.
- 53:06Speaker 2: But half of those ladies aren't even on the show anymore.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Or more than half.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I remember Kyle was there.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Kyle, Camille. I feel like she's my aunt too. I
- 53:13Speaker 2: knew her before she was famous because she is Paris
- 53:17Speaker 2: and Nikki's aunt.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Were you invited to Paris' wedding? No. Were you? No.
- 53:22Speaker 4: No.
- 53:23Speaker 1: I know.
- 53:23Speaker 2: What was I going to say?
- 53:24Speaker 7: You guys feel like you were slighted a little bit
- 53:27Speaker 7: by this?
- 53:28Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I do. You do, right?
- 53:30Speaker 2: She invited a bunch of influencers that she barely knew,
- 53:34Speaker 2: and I've known that bitch for 15 years.
- 53:36Speaker 1: I mean, you named yourself after her. I know.
- 53:39Speaker 2: But I've eclipsed her now.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Really?
- 53:42Speaker 2: No, I'm kidding.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Do you like her husband?
- 53:46Speaker 2: I don't know anything about him. I didn't watch that
- 53:47Speaker 2: reality show.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Some people watch the reality show and they are not
- 53:50Speaker 1: feeling good about it. But I think that's just edits.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I think opposites attract, you know? And it takes a
- 53:55Speaker 2: certain kind of man to put up with and deal
- 53:59Speaker 2: with Paris Hilton and everything that comes with her.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 54:02Speaker 2: So I'm happy that she's going to have her babies soon.
- 54:06Speaker 2: But I love the whole concept of housewives because... it's
- 54:10Speaker 2: contrary to traditional media, which is old is not good. Yeah.
- 54:15Speaker 2: It's all about young. And I love that these women
- 54:17Speaker 2: in their forties and fifties are TV stars.
- 54:20Speaker 7: But I think, I think society in general is, has
- 54:25Speaker 7: embraced this now a nostalgia so much. When you look
- 54:28Speaker 7: at like music and television shows, stranger things, when you
- 54:31Speaker 7: look at the music that's really popular right now, it's,
- 54:34Speaker 7: It's older stuff.
- 54:35Speaker 6: It's comfortable stuff.
- 54:36Speaker 2: I'm ready for my comeback.
- 54:38Speaker 7: And I'm actually– I'm really shocked, back to Paris Hilton,
- 54:42Speaker 7: like why they wouldn't include you more in that sort
- 54:45Speaker 7: of world because you are somewhat of a comfort. All
- 54:48Speaker 7: of these people, not these so much, but when you
- 54:51Speaker 7: look at some of the actors that have been on it,
- 54:53Speaker 7: they're comfortable.
- 54:55Speaker 6: They're inviting.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I'm not on TV, honestly, I think, because– I don't know. Actually,
- 55:01Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know why. I think streamers
- 55:04Speaker 2: would be more daring than, like, cable. They're a bunch
- 55:07Speaker 2: of pussies, so they're beholden to advertisers. I understand they're
- 55:12Speaker 2: afraid of having me on because of my past.
- 55:15Speaker 7: But you've given away the cow. I mean, you've done
- 55:17Speaker 7: so much online. There's no mystery. There's no mystique.
- 55:20Speaker 6: Trust me.
- 55:21Speaker 2: You have no idea what I'm capable of.
- 55:23Speaker 6: Seven years of you, I know everything about you.
- 55:26Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 55:27Speaker 5: I just had such an old flashback of you.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:31Speaker 5: When you were on Posh Spice, Victoria Beckins had a
- 55:37Speaker 5: reality show.
- 55:38Speaker 2: It was like a limited one season series when she
- 55:41Speaker 2: was coming to America.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 55:44Speaker 5: And she's like, I'm meeting this blogger who writes all
- 55:48Speaker 5: his stuff out of a coffee shop.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:50Speaker 1: And I think that was like the first time we
- 55:52Speaker 1: saw you. Was that your first thing?
- 55:53Speaker 2: One of the first things. Yeah. Yeah. I loved that
- 55:57Speaker 2: because even though she was calling me out, so to speak,
- 56:01Speaker 2: I just am a big Spice Girls fan. So that
- 56:04Speaker 2: was such a dream come true. I'm still a Spice
- 56:05Speaker 2: Girls fan. I'm an idea person. I wish I had it.
- 56:11Speaker 2: all of the connections and all of the hundreds of
- 56:14Speaker 2: millions of dollars.
- 56:14Speaker 7: But you've had them before and you blew most of
- 56:16Speaker 7: it on these shitty ideas.
- 56:18Speaker 2: This is a good idea.
- 56:19Speaker 6: Here comes a shitty idea.
- 56:20Speaker 2: This is a great idea. This is one of the
- 56:22Speaker 2: best ideas.
- 56:22Speaker 6: Buckle in.
- 56:23Speaker 2: This is one of the best ideas I've ever had.
- 56:25Speaker 2: So I would say, and you would probably agree, that
- 56:30Speaker 2: Adele's career is not as hot as it was a
- 56:33Speaker 2: few years ago. Her likability has taken a hit for
- 56:37Speaker 2: many reasons. So I would think it would be smart
- 56:41Speaker 2: for Adele to do something to turn those things around.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I think she should commit to a six-month world tour
- 56:52Speaker 2: with the Spice Girls, and she could take Victoria Beckham's place.
- 56:58Speaker 2: That's a brilliant idea.
- 57:00Speaker 6: It would be fun, sure.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Adele is a huge Spice Girls fan, so it would
- 57:03Speaker 2: be one of her childhood.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Dreams come true. Honestly, that is... The worst idea I've
- 57:07Speaker 1: ever heard.
- 57:07Speaker 2: No, that's brilliant. Listen. That's brilliant.
- 57:10Speaker 5: As long as Adele wants to come back, not be
- 57:14Speaker 5: dick whipped by her boyfriend, and commit to what she
- 57:18Speaker 5: has agreed to do at Caesar's Palace.
- 57:21Speaker 1: She will be just fine.
- 57:23Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 57:23Speaker 2: I'm surprised that they haven't announced new dates yet.
- 57:26Speaker 7: He wants everyone to get in front of everything, in
- 57:30Speaker 7: front of every controversy. It can be cured by doing
- 57:33Speaker 7: this or that.
- 57:35Speaker 6: I'm like, you're Adele. You're talented. I don't need to
- 57:37Speaker 6: see behind the curtain. As a matter of fact, I
- 57:40Speaker 6: love Mystique.
- 57:41Speaker 2: It's underrated.
- 57:42Speaker 5: And also it's like, I think that, you know, from
- 57:44Speaker 5: what I heard.
- 57:45Speaker 2: Of why she canceled it. Neither of you are gay men, obviously.
- 57:48Speaker 5: But she, you know, didn't like the way the show
- 57:50Speaker 5: was or she felt like she didn't have all these,
- 57:51Speaker 5: or they wanted special effects or she didn't need special effects.
- 57:54Speaker 1: I'm like, You don't need anything. You need to come
- 57:56Speaker 1: out in a.
- 57:57Speaker 5: Gorgeous gown with your perfect face and just sing.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Like, literally, you don't need dancing cupcakes in the back.
- 58:04Speaker 7: But this is when you start to lose it at
- 58:06Speaker 7: this level of celebrity, when you start to buy in
- 58:09Speaker 7: all of this stuff. My favorite Adele show that I
- 58:11Speaker 7: ever went to, she did the one here in L.A.
- 58:14Speaker 7: the night before they were going to announce the tour.
- 58:17Speaker 7: There was no stage, nothing. There was a microphone.
- 58:20Speaker 2: I saw her at the Hotel Cafe. Cafe, right. But
- 58:22Speaker 2: this was.
- 58:24Speaker 6: Still Adele level. She was Adele still like the big Adele.
- 58:28Speaker 7: She walked out there with the microphone. She told a
- 58:30Speaker 7: couple of little jokes. She cackled like Adele does. And
- 58:33Speaker 7: it's one of my favorite Adele. She could have done
- 58:35Speaker 7: that in Vegas and everybody would have been happy. Especially
- 58:38Speaker 7: coming out of pandemic.
- 58:39Speaker 2: She's so fascinating for so many reasons, but like, cause
- 58:42Speaker 2: on one hand she's such an artist, but even people
- 58:45Speaker 2: that you love and are such artists can also still
- 58:48Speaker 2: be human, you know, and superficial and, One of the
- 58:52Speaker 2: things that I loved about very early Adele, the first
- 58:55Speaker 2: tour and a half or the first two tours, she
- 58:59Speaker 2: used to play the guitar. And she stopped because she's like, oh,
- 59:04Speaker 2: they're bad for my nails. I can't play them with
- 59:06Speaker 2: long nails. And she would rather have long nails than
- 59:08Speaker 2: play the guitar in her concert. and I think that's
- 59:10Speaker 2: so dumb like why would you not want to show
- 59:12Speaker 2: that versatility that you can or just have like an
- 59:14Speaker 2: intimate moment where you put the band away and.
- 59:16Speaker 5: It's just you and your guitar and how do you
- 59:18Speaker 5: feel about once she lost the weight I.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Think that's one of the other reasons why she lost
- 59:23Speaker 2: her likability a bit her relatability not for everybody clearly
- 59:27Speaker 2: but I think some people they are like oh I
- 59:29Speaker 2: prefer fat Adele.
- 59:31Speaker 5: Do you feel like people that identified with her, like
- 59:35Speaker 5: we have similar bodies and we both are gorgeous, that
- 59:37Speaker 5: when she got thin it was like, now I have
- 59:40Speaker 5: this pressure to also be thin and you've abandoned us?
- 59:43Speaker 2: It's not even that. It's more of like, Adele's gone Hollywood.
- 59:47Speaker 2: She lives in L.A. and she's so Hollywood now. I think.
- 59:52Speaker 2: I could be reading into it.
- 59:54Speaker 1: How do you think she lost the weight?
- 59:56Speaker 2: Working out twice a day, which I did back in
- 59:58Speaker 2: the day. You know, there was a period where people
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: thought I was anorexic. I wasn't anorexic. I was eating enough,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: but I was also working out twice a day. If
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: you work out twice a day, you're going to get
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: amazing results. But who the fuck has time to work
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: out twice a day for a long, for forever? Unless
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: you're getting paid and you're a professional, you're not going
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: to do that. I wish I had the time. I would.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: I love my body. I loved how I looked when
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I was working out twice a day. sickening. I had
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: the best abs. Oh my God. But now I've got
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: three kids and I don't have time for that. I
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: barely have time for my one a day, but I
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Good. Good for you. Well, this was super fun. Thank
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: you so much.
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: I had a blast.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Tell everybody where they, if they don't know. How they
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: can listen and follow.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: We have a podcast.
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: It's called The Perez Hilton Podcast with Chris Booker.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Which I wanted to change the name of because I
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: wanted to be more inclusive. It's like our show.
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: Let's get her opinion on this. Should we change the name?
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: To include a white straight man? No, no, no.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: Who cares about me?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: And also to help us with discovery. It's not even that.
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: He has this thing about himself that people don't like him.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: A lot.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: And he said, if we just had a name, Juicy Scoop,
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: if we were just that, oh, and Perez Hilton's on it,
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: more people may listen. And I'm like, but you're the knowledge.
- 1:01:21Speaker 7: You're the show.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: No, whatever.
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: What do you think? Should he change it to not
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: be him?
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: No, I don't think he changed it. I don't either.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: We've been doing it for seven years.
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: Yeah, there's no point.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I did have.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: Someone say when I first started Juicy Scoop, you shouldn't
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: call it that. You should call it like Heather's Hollywood
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: or whatever. And I kind of for like the first
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: two years sort of regretted not calling it Heather McDonald
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: so that my name would be more famous because the
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: podcast is so good.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: And like Heather Dubrow has a podcast and it's the name.
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: But then– I realized, no, Juicy Scoop is great for
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: that reason, because it's Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I have almost two names.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: Tells you what the show is, too.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: But sometimes I feel like Juicy Scoop is more recognizable
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: than Heather McDonald, but whatever.
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: I think all of that doesn't mean anything.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Just be good.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: You've been known as Perez Hilton for 20 years, so
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: I would keep it as it is.
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: I think good is good. It doesn't matter what it's called.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: So you can listen to our show at PerezPodcast.com, or
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: you can watch us on YouTube. Which I prefer.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: Don't do that. That's a waste of time. Just listen
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: to the show. Download it. It's good. There you go.
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: And watch this one.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Well, this is on YouTube as well.
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: I'm not talking about your show. I'm talking about our channel.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: You can watch ours on my at Per Ed Seltz
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: and YouTube channel. I like it because there's more content.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: He edits our audio show and he cuts out so much. Yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: All the stuff I think is good. They're not boring.
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: Very boring.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: People that like us want to hear it all.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: We had more to talk about, but whatever. The show's over.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: We can keep going.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I love you. Thanks for coming.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
