- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20Friends, thank you so much for tuning in.
- 0:22God bless you.
- 0:23You've got our brother Bill Federer back, officially William J. Federer.
- 0:26If you go to his Amazon page and all of his books, we're going to talk about several
- 0:30of those books today, including what's happening in the nation and get his perspective on how
- 0:35he's seeing things from history, to what's happening in culture and brother.
- 0:40Bill, good to see you.
- 0:41Thanks for your time today.
- 0:42Oh, David, good to be with you.
- 0:44Yep, so let's mention the relevant books.
- 0:46Well, they're all relevant, but the most recent ones we want to talk about, of course,
- 0:51courageous Christianity is the brand new one.
- 0:53We're going to get to this one, friends.
- 0:54This is a powerful book, how a 19th century revival sparked the muscular Christianity movement,
- 1:01YMCA athletics, and a youth led race to save the world.
- 1:06We're seeing youth move today, very interesting, also an incredibly relevant book, Socialism,
- 1:14the real history from Plato to the present.
- 1:18And I love this one as well, silence equals consent.
- 1:23So brother, there's so much going on in the country, disappointing from the perspective
- 1:28of the church and Bible-believing Christians, where we've got the decline of biblical literacy,
- 1:35and we've got the increase of secularism, the increase of Islamization, really, which
- 1:41I think I've told you before we got on the podcast, it's kind of flying under the radar.
- 1:45You also wrote a book on that, what every American needs to know about the Quran, a history
- 1:49of Islam and the United States.
- 1:52So we'll start right there.
- 1:54You know, the communist Islamist was just elected in New York City to be the mayor.
- 1:59Eye-opening for lots of places in the country, because what happens in New York doesn't
- 2:04always stay in New York.
- 2:05We've seen college campuses, hotbeds for not only Islam, but socialism, so your thoughts
- 2:12right off the top bill, and we'll just dive into this.
- 2:15Yeah, it's called the red-green alliance, or red-bean, commerce, and green-bean Islam.
- 2:21I go through Muhammad's life that he was first a religious leader in the pagan city of
- 2:26Mecca from 610, 80 to 622, 80, and he only makes 70 converts in 12 years, and he gets
- 2:33confrontational, and they chase him out of town.
- 2:36He travels north as a Muslim refugee to the Jewish city of Medina, three Jewish clans
- 2:42control Medina.
- 2:43They let Muhammad as a Muslim immigrant, the first one ever.
- 2:48He goes into the minority neighborhoods, and he begins to organize a following, so
- 2:51like a community organizer.
- 2:53When his following gets big enough, he gets involved in politics, and he pressures the
- 2:58Jews to accommodate him and his followers politically.
- 3:01They do, now Muhammad's a political leader.
- 3:03When his followers get argumentative, they get chased out of town for disturbing the
- 3:06peace.
- 3:07Now you have lots of Muslim immigrants, Jews let him into Medina, and Muhammad allows them
- 3:13to rob the caravans headed to Mecca in retaliation for the Meccans chasing him out of town.
- 3:18It's this victimhood thing.
- 3:20That we're the victims, they were intolerant of us, and so it's different than Jesus who
- 3:23said if they take your coat, give him your shirt, his attitude was, if they take your
- 3:27house, you take their caravan.
- 3:28And so he gets verses from his Allah that he gets a fifth of the booty.
- 3:32One of the verses says, Allah has given you the slave girls as your booty.
- 3:37And so he tells his men, you can have four wives plus as many extra women as your right-hand
- 3:42possesses.
- 3:43And so they would rob caravans within, and then back in Mecca, he gets offended at one
- 3:49of the Jewish tribes, confiscates their property, chases about a town.
- 3:52Now there's two Jewish tribes.
- 3:53He confiscates the second one's property, chases about a town, and the big one stands back
- 3:57saying, well, as long as he's not focusing on me.
- 4:00And then the last tribe, he bottles them in their neighborhood for 25 days, brings them
- 4:03into the market, shops off their heads, sells some women and children into slavery.
- 4:06So within five years of Muhammad coming into the Jewish city of Medina as an immigrant,
- 4:12there's not a Jew left in the city of Medina.
- 4:14They were chased out, killed or enslaved.
- 4:16So at the three-step process, immigrate, increase, eliminate, immigrate into a host country
- 4:22as a Muslim refugee, increase the number of your followers and begin to get involved politically.
- 4:29And then you have random outbreaks of violence in the neighborhood, and the previous inhabitants
- 4:33no longer feel safe and move out, and you take over the neighborhood.
- 4:37And they do this neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city, country by country.
- 4:40There's a 1,400-year track record of seeing this happen.
- 4:44They even call it da-wa, DAWAH, and it's a cultural jihad.
- 4:50And so in Europe, the Muslim immigrants come in, and they will put, the guy will have four
- 4:55wives and will put each wife in an apartment and tell them to go down to the welfare office
- 4:59and say the husband is not around and they get welfare checks.
- 5:02And the man visits his wives and the more children they have, the larger the welfare
- 5:06checks get.
- 5:07He's living like a king with his hair and it's all paid for its state expense.
- 5:11And the average European woman is having one kid, maybe.
- 5:15It's a social stigma for a Muslim woman, they have less than five kids.
- 5:18And so you've got one guy with 20 kids and they estimate by 2030, they will have a majority
- 5:24population and they will simply vote in Sharia law.
- 5:28Anything's happening in Canada and it's happening in cities across America.
- 5:32I was recently talking to someone who said, yeah, Portland, Maine, it now has a Muslim mayor
- 5:36and you see this happening all around America, they come in as immigrants, they go into
- 5:42the minority neighborhoods, get a following, and then have random outbreaks of violence
- 5:47and calls to prayer, like in Hamptramic and the previous inhabitants no longer feel safe
- 5:51and move out.
- 5:52So Bill, why do you think this seemingly has flown under the radar of our government
- 5:58or it seems to the average American is paying attention to this or concerned about this
- 6:03that the government doesn't seem to be concerned about this in the United States?
- 6:08Yeah, so politicians want votes and they see these immigrants as potential voters.
- 6:14And so you'll have both Democrats and Republicans falling over themselves saying, hey, join our
- 6:19party, join our party, we'll have more votes.
- 6:22But realizing that they have their own agenda, so like a pinball machine, they'll work
- 6:26with either side, either side, either side, but they're advancing their agenda.
- 6:30Then an important thing in Islam, they have a saying, when your enemy is strong retreat,
- 6:36when your enemy is weak attack.
- 6:38And so throughout history, whenever they've suffered major defeats, battle of Malta,
- 6:42battle of Apanto, battle of tours, they would go into a generation of being less aggressive
- 6:47and then they would do probing attacks and become more aggressive.
- 6:51So we look at World War I, before then the Ottoman Empire, which had been in existence for 700 years,
- 6:58begins to weaken. It's called the Sick Man of Europe. And it would have dissolved Britain,
- 7:04has taken a part of it, Egypt and France has taken a part of it and Russia's taken a little sliver
- 7:10and Italy has taken some. But then oil is discovered in Iraq and you have the Germans making a treaty
- 7:20with the Turks for oil and you have the British making a treaty with Iran for oil.
- 7:26It's called the Anglo-Iranian oil company or BP, BP, Anglo-Iranian oil company.
- 7:33So have World War I to place in the Middle East over oil. And so when World War I ends,
- 7:40the map of Europe's redrawn, the map of the Middle East is redrawn. Of course the Jews
- 7:43get the British mandate. But the Muslim world by and large wanted to be westernized and have
- 7:51secular leaders that wanted to be more pro-West. And it was moving in that direction until
- 7:58the Muslim Brotherhood was started in 1928. And they say we got to get back to their goal is a
- 8:05one-world Muslim government called the Caliphate led by a Muslim leader called the Khalifa.
- 8:10But they base their agenda on the two cities Muhammad lived in. In Mecca he was religious,
- 8:16in Medina he flips and becomes political military. And so their agenda is
- 8:20sneak into countries as religious Muslims and then flip and become political militant.
- 8:24But the big change happened in 1960 when the Cold War ends and the Soviets are forming
- 8:31groups to destabilize countries. They call the critical theory. They're going to a country,
- 8:37observe the groups, ethnic, religious, social, economic, and then call them victims and oppressors
- 8:42have and have nots. They'd start riots and protest and co-op the media to blame the leader of the
- 8:47country when his popularity fell as they would do a coup and replace the leader with the Soviet puppet.
- 8:51So in 1960 the Soviets started the PLO, the Palestinian liberation organization for the purpose of
- 8:59sewing division in the Middle East so it would not be pro-American. And so the PLO is a mixing
- 9:04together of Wahabi Muslim Brotherhood ideology with Soviet tactics. So here you have the socialists
- 9:12that want a one-world government and the Muslims that want a one-world government and they both
- 9:15hate the West. And so now you have a socialist Muslim mayor of New York. So these are tactics that
- 9:24we see. So I'd love to talk more about your book on socialism but we did that the last time we
- 9:31had you on. I just want to direct people to it. Great book, friends. Socialism, the real history
- 9:35from PLO to the present. Subtitle how the deep state capitalizes on crises to consolidate control.
- 9:42We talked about that and how their goal is to gain control and they've actually done a decent
- 9:48job of that. It's evil but they're they're good at what they do because they they never give up
- 9:54on their agenda. So let's move over to your new book now. I'll build courageous Christianity.
- 9:59A lot of information in this one. You started off with sports. You talk about the Olympics inspired
- 10:05by Christianity. Even the game of rugby. Where do you want to start here?
- 10:11Yeah, so there's a second great awakening in America led by a guy named Charles Finney.
- 10:16He's in a young attorney and he says church is more than just listening to sermons. You
- 10:20got to do something and his sermons were read by William and Catherine Booth over in England.
- 10:25They started the Salvation Army but his works were read by George Williams and he started
- 10:31the YMCA. So industrial revolution, London, the population increases eight fold with factories
- 10:38and their streets are filled full of gangs and prostitutes and if you saw Oliver twist with
- 10:44Charles Dickens, that's the way. And so a young 22 year old guy named George Williams says
- 10:49there needs to be a place where guys can go and read the Bible and study and exercise and he called
- 10:53it the Young Men's Christian Association. And it started in this movement called muscular Christianity
- 10:58that you can be a strong Christian so that you can defend the weak, right? Which is different
- 11:04than the Middle Ages where you had this concept that anything physical is bad and so just fast
- 11:09until you're 80 pounds. It's like okay well you may have a really good spiritual relationship with
- 11:13the Lord but you're not going to defend the orphan in the widow against the as long as you
- 11:17have fallen human nature you will have the strong oppress the weak. And so that's why you need
- 11:22godly strong men to defend the weak. And so this was the muscular Christianity movement. The YMCA
- 11:29spreads goes worldwide. It helps to lead in racial reconciliation. In 1850s you had the first YMCA
- 11:37founded by a black man Anthony Bowen in Washington DC and then they started indoor sports. So
- 11:48Robert J. Roberts wrote a book called the Body Builder. He was a Baptist. He was a YMCA instructor
- 11:54and he came up with the idea of bodybuilding and he came up with the idea of exercising every day
- 11:59that was sort of a novel thought. And then a YMCA instructor James Nazmat his boss said you know
- 12:07it's winter time we're doing jump and decks. Can you come up with something a little more interesting
- 12:11and so he tax a couple peach baskets on the wall they throw a soccer ball in it and get a ladder
- 12:16pull it out but then the bottom top turned into a hoop but they would tackle each other and so he
- 12:20came up with the 13 rules of basketball printed it in the YMCA newsletter and it went worldwide
- 12:25and it became the best witnessing tool. So you're in China India the Philippines and you're going to
- 12:30witness for the hard but if you just play basketball these kids see it say hey you want to learn
- 12:35come here I'll show you how you play basketball I have fun become friends and you sit down and
- 12:39somebody opens up a Bible you have a Bible study and then a YMCA instructor invented volleyball
- 12:44racket ball indoor swim lessons the boy scouts came out of the YMCA but you would have a World War
- 12:52and during the off time R&R recreation and a YMCA instructor L. Wood Brown from the Philippines
- 13:00organizes these players from different countries to play sports and so a French guy D'Coubertine
- 13:05recruits him and says hey let's bring back the Olympics and so it was the YMCA athletes from all
- 13:11these countries that came together for the Olympics and so so fascinating ripple effects but it all
- 13:18goes back to this second great awakening revival in Charles Fittie and the head of the YMCA in
- 13:25Geneva, Switzerland was led by Henry Do not and he does something he starts the International Red Cross
- 13:32and then the Gideon's International comes out of the YMCA. Father's Day came out of the YMCA
- 13:37you have the Toastmasters and Dale Carnegie classes of all these things are coming out of the YMCA
- 13:43Dale Moody in Chicago and Billy Sunday the Evangelist and it's a fascinating book but again it's
- 13:50the premise that you can be a strong courageous person so that you can defend the weak and establish
- 13:56God's covenant on the earth. Interesting history we'll talk more about that after we come back
- 14:01from our break but we're kind of seeing a change here in my perspective Bill how we've kind of
- 14:07gone for decades with most not all but most athletes shying away from mentioning their faith in
- 14:13Christ and now we've got more boldness it seems in a lot of them particularly some in college
- 14:18so I'm really encouraged by what we're seeing but we're with Bill Federer American Minute.com you
- 14:24can get the book courageous Christianity there also on Amazon we'll be right back on World View Matters

- 15:50things that matter the website worldviewmatters.tv so Bill Federer before we continue on on the book
- 16:00courageous Christianity I do want to go back sorry to do this actually you know you can talk about
- 16:07any topic I know but I'm really I'm loving the fact that you wrote on silence equals consent the
- 16:13sin of omission we've seen that in too many churches it with too many pastors and now a lot of
- 16:18Christians in America but I want to ask you about the socialism aspect of what we're seeing
- 16:25it opened my eyes in I think 2016 when 65% if I remember some of the polls of young people under
- 16:33I think it was 29 supporting Bernie Sanders and that's why he was neck and neck with Hillary Clinton
- 16:40at the time so you got youth supporting social and they're sold on socialism many of them are defending
- 16:45socialism but they don't know what it is they don't know how to define it do you see that
- 16:51changing now that we're seeing you know a few socialist uh Islamic mayors socialism is big in
- 16:58their background and what they want to do with government do you see that changing our more people's
- 17:02eyes opening what are your thoughts well I think Charlie Kirk was one of the main ones pushing back
- 17:08on socialism and he did it so brilliantly and and he did start a youth movement that is continuing I
- 17:16just spoke to a great turning point group at the University of Mississippi last week um but but it's a
- 17:23battle um you know in the book silence equals consent I go through how colonial America you had
- 17:29churches founding cities and so in uh providence wrote island was founded by the first Baptist
- 17:35church in America Hartford Connecticut was founded by the first congregational church in America
- 17:40churches founding cities everybody's involved in church and everybody's involved in the city
- 17:44government because it's the church founding the city and they had a covenant form a government
- 17:49that they got from the bible what part of the bible that first 400 years out of Egypt before
- 17:54Israel got a king right and so that's the first instance in world history with millions of people
- 17:58in no king it worked until the priests went woke right they went rainbow church and there's no
- 18:04sin and everyone does were tried in their own eyes and they all go to Samuel the prophet they say
- 18:08we want to be like the other countries we want a king Samuel Christ and the Lord said they did
- 18:12not reject you they rejected me why is this important kings of europe look to the bible for their
- 18:17authority but they look to the king's saw and after part of the bible divine ride of kings I'm the
- 18:22royal gang leader and the founders of america look to the before king saw part of the bible millions
- 18:28of people everybody taught the law personally accountable to god to follow it so kings of europe
- 18:33wanted a theocracy you had to believe with the government tells you to believe or you get cancelled
- 18:37print put in jail and burnt of the state um america's founders fled that and they wanted
- 18:42freedom of conscience so anyone who says that christians want to set up a theocracy know nothing
- 18:46about our history america's founders fled that because they wanted freedom of conscience goes
- 18:51back to god loves you god wants you to love him back but for love to be love it must be voluntary
- 18:57anyway um now i have four stages where pilgrim covenant turns into socialism you're like what
- 19:04yes or the pilgrims it's like a triangle you get rights from god your fear to your neighbor
- 19:09because you're accountable to god right you get blessings from god you share that with your
- 19:14neighbor voluntarily as charity because you're doing it as untagot and god is close uh the century
- 19:20after the pilgrims you have the age of enlightenment and the scientific revolution and scientists like
- 19:27Kepler discovering laws of planetary motion and Robert Boyle discovering laws of pressure and Isaac
- 19:32Newton discovering laws of gravity and so some theologian said well maybe god made everything a lot
- 19:37with laws and he made it but like a guy makes a really complicated clock and then winds it up
- 19:43and goes for a walk it's still moving god made everything but he's not really involved he's distant
- 19:48he's impersonal and so covenant turns into social contract it's pretty much what we agree upon
- 19:54yeah god's there but we just sort of tip our hat to him well you go from pilgrim covenant with a
- 19:58close god to the age of enlightenment it's a social contract with a distant god to the French
- 20:04revolution in the next century where social covenant with no god and then the century after that
- 20:10is you have Marxism socialism where the state is god and so you have a haggle said the state is
- 20:18god walking on earth the state is our mortal god all the worth which the human being possesses
- 20:23he possesses only through the state so that's where you get Nazism where in 1933 they authorize
- 20:29physicians to end the life of sick patients and that the article says but no life still valuable to
- 20:37the state will be want and lead destroyed so the state decides whether you live or die on your
- 20:42base or so so it's interesting how this pilgrim covenant with a close god goes to a social
- 20:48contract age of enlightenment with a distant god to the French revolution social contract with no
- 20:53god to Marxism the socialism where the state is god what great it's connecting of the dots there
- 21:00I'm sure that's helpful to a lot of people historically now when you said what you know what
- 21:05their value they're devaluing life that's simply what they're doing when you remove god
- 21:10I can't help but think about America and the abortion holocaust that we have here right in our own
- 21:16country what about euthanasia I think six states maybe seven now have legal euthanasia up in
- 21:25Canada MAID medical assistance and dying so we've got in the west now we are devaluing life and
- 21:32we are being god government is god we remove the value of life that's surprising in a country
- 21:40with our founding and knowing that every life was created in the image of god that's in our
- 21:47declaration could you care to speak to that Bill and how do we get back to valuing life in America
- 21:54yeah there's a quote from George Washington where he said the fate of unborn millions
- 22:01now depends under god on the courage of this army and then even in our constitution it says to
- 22:07secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of liberty and it's like what's posterity well
- 22:13that's the future generations well the future generation starts with the next generation the one
- 22:17that's in the womb right now and so the the concept is that our founders sacrificed their prosperity
- 22:27for their posterity they pledged their lives and their fortunes and their sacred honor for a
- 22:32generation yet unborn today it's flipped and people are sacrificing their posterity for prosperity
- 22:39settling our kids with a thirty eight trillion dollar debt where all the income won't even pay the
- 22:43interest on it totally irresponsible but we don't care as long as everything's okay with
- 22:48our life there and so we see this switch in the value of human life but but I think there is an
- 22:58awakening and I think young people are coming up and if one thing is encouraging is the store what are
- 23:05the stories we love best in the Bible it's where it looks like it's hopeless and god raised up
- 23:10little no bodies with faith encouraging I mean here exactly had the most powerful military in
- 23:14the world and this 80-year-old Moses is leading a bunch of people with with no weapons they're
- 23:20totally unarmed and then God has the the Red Sea clothes in and kill them and and there's David
- 23:27against this giant Goliath we love the stories where there's courage Esther going into the king
- 23:35right of Persia saying you know whether I die I die I'm going to go in there and stand up for the
- 23:40Jews and and so this is our turn our turn and then Gideon's case it's a hundred thousand
- 23:48midi nights and he gets thirty thousand Israelites and God said too many tell everyone that's
- 23:53scared to go home and then he whittles it down to ten thousand still didn't go drink from a creek
- 23:57whittles it to three hundred and then God rolls up his sleeves and says watch this
- 24:02otherwise God loves to wait until things look hopeless yes and then he raised up little
- 24:06no bodies with faith encourage so this is our turn when I first met Charlie Kirk in 2014 I was
- 24:11the main speaker at Robinson Illinois Civic Center with a couple hundred people and this 19-year-old
- 24:17was the warm-up speaker for me and I remember he was so good I couldn't concentrate on my notes
- 24:23four days before Charlie was shot we were in Seoul Korea together and I was the warm-up speaker for him
- 24:29oh my goodness and so through the years he would text me I've been on his show a dozen times and
- 24:35he'd ask me questions you know tell me about John Adams the tree of Tripoli tell me about
- 24:39you know the state constitutions and and I'd give him some and he would text me scriptures I have a
- 24:45whole phone full of you know years and years of Charlie texted me Bible verses and so in the middle
- 24:51of him you know meeting with the president and stuff he texted his friends Bible verses
- 24:55he did this to so many people but I was one of them but it was just amazing to see how one life
- 25:03by the time he's 31 it could impact the entire world yeah and so this is an encouragement to the 19
- 25:10year olds that are watching this and to the young people that are watching this that just sell
- 25:15out to the Lord and let the Lord use you and and you can change the world too it really is amazing
- 25:22for lack of better words the Charlie Kirk effect what's been happening not just with the growth
- 25:26of turning point USA and all the new chapters and requests and that that movement is booming but I
- 25:32think reports of Bible sales more people going to church more people willing to think here about
- 25:39Jesus I mean this these are a signs of a hopeful revival we can't manipulate that so the Holy
- 25:46Spirit is doing something the Holy Spirit has America here for a reason otherwise we've been
- 25:52gone a long time ago because of our own evil and depravity but there's good people here there's
- 25:56great men and women of God that are trying to do the Lord's work and trying to wake up the church
- 26:02wake up the nation and as long as we're still alive right Bill there's still time just in the last
