- 3:39Don't forget that right after this show, after ours has a fantastic program set
- 3:45up for us. So let's get to our guests. Joshua Kutchen is the
- 3:50author of seven nonfiction books about the supernatural. He has appeared on dozens of
- 3:55programs, including Coast to Coast AM and is regularly invited to speak at paranormal
- 4:00conferences. His latest nonfiction book is the two volume set Ecology of Souls,
- 4:05A New Mythology of Death and the Paranormal. In August of twenty twenty three,
- 4:11he released his first novel, Them Old Ways Never Died. And he's
- 4:15a fellow Georgia guy. Okay, we're both here in Georgia and I've spent
- 4:20some time with Joshua out in the field. He came out with my team
- 4:24to do a little bit of research at the Meadow Project, so please help
- 4:27me. Welcome to Space Out Radio, my buddy, Joshua. Hi,
- 4:31it's so good to be We should have just met halfway or something. We're
- 4:35not too far from each other. I mean, that's right, we're super
- 4:42close. I forgot how close we lived each other. Actually I knew you're
- 4:46around here somewhere, but yeah, that's awesome. Josh It's so good to
- 4:49see you again. We met under fun circumstances or scary to some people,
- 4:55but to us, it's fun. We were out in the meadow at an
- 4:58undisclosed location with my team, and and you you got invited out to come
- 5:02out and do some research with this. Tell me how you feel about that
- 5:05experience you had out there. You know, I have this saying sometimes that
- 5:13I feel like I'm paranormal kryptonite. It's not that I haven't had things happen
- 5:18to me, but I tend to not find the one I look for them.
- 5:23They sort of come at me when I'm not expecting it. So my
- 5:27experience there was relatively quiet. I did have the interesting experience of seeing a
- 5:35starlink claunch, which it sort of put me in the mindset of what one
- 5:42would feel when they saw a UFO, if that makes any sense. You
- 5:46know, it sort of got me in that right head space. But you
- 5:48know, I remember that particular evening concluded with an SDU session and that was
- 5:55quite moving and quite powerful, and it was just, if if nothing else,
- 5:59like, it was just good to be there amongst like minded folks talking
- 6:02about these sort of things. And you know, I have two I have
- 6:08two four year old boys at home, so it's kind of nice for me
- 6:12to get away from that too for a little while. Oh yeah, I
- 6:14know, yeah, so it was. It was. It was a wonderful
- 6:16weekend and I got to meet so many great people, like like yourself.
- 6:19So it was, it was. I can't wait to go back in the
- 6:23fall, hopefully when there are fewer ticks and there's better visibility through the trees.
- 6:28Oh yeah, Well here I'm going to let you in on a little
- 6:30secret. I was there this weekend actually with my team, my whole my
- 6:33not my whole team. We had like a small group of us out there
- 6:36is, by by no means our whole team. But I went out there,
- 6:40actually took my son into for one night. He was not able to
- 6:43get into the meadow that night because we do not allow children anyone under eighteen
- 6:46is not allowed for obvious reasons, you know, to go out there.
- 6:51But hey we I actually stayed back at base camp with him that night,
- 6:55and we were surrounded by coyotes and u and that was about the strange that
- 7:00the highly the most high strangeness. Let's just say that we got with those
- 7:04coyotes at night. So but the team experienced some cool stuff out out at
- 7:09the meadow that night. So yeah, you know, I often say that
- 7:14that you know, looking for UFOs is skywatching with a purpose, and going
- 7:19out doing to these research areas at night is sort of like, you know,
- 7:23being in the wilderness or camping with a purpose. So when you get
- 7:26this sort of you know, little consolation prizes like seeing coyotes or just seeing
- 7:30wildlife, it's kind of like, well, let's you know, it's not
- 7:31quite as dramatic as you know I was hoping for, but it's still a
- 7:35nice experience, numb more sure, Hey, I know, And what I
- 7:40say is it Well, if we don't get any kind of activity, at
- 7:43least we had a fun camping trip. Okay exactly. That's all you can
- 7:46ask for, and it's just an added bonus to get to see a bigfoot
- 7:49or see UFOs or see light beings and the portal. We had so much
- 7:54stuff. I know you were probably expecting, probably even more activity than what
- 7:58you got, but we had some cool stuff that happen. Yeah. I
- 8:01have this attitude sometimes, and this might be what keeps me from experiencing stuff.
- 8:05But I have this attitude sometimes of the pessimist is never disappointed. So
- 8:11maybe that was part of my problem, is that I was going in not
- 8:13expecting something, not because of you know, the location being hyped or anything,
- 8:20but rather from my own standpoint and my own rotten luck. So yeah,
- 8:24oh yeah, here, let me try to get this up. Well,
- 8:28Okay, here's my thing, and this is how our team kind of
- 8:31operates out there. As you saw, we find a connection between all the
- 8:35paranormal aspects, all the phenomenon this out there. There is some sort of
- 8:39thread that kind of holds them and ties them all together in some way.
- 8:43And I think that you are on that same wavelength. Okay, according to
- 8:48the from your books and the interviews that I've watched that you've done, and
- 8:52by the way, I've really enjoyed watching your interviews. You have such a
- 8:56fantastic take on the paranormal, and I just resonate with it so much.
- 9:01I'm actually getting goosebumps right now because I think that you and I are going
- 9:03to have a really interesting conversation tonight about all of this. But I think
- 9:07that my team, we see a connection between a lot of this stuff,
- 9:11from the UFOs to ghost to Bigfoot, to portals to just whatever high strangeness
- 9:18we got going on out there. And I have some personal stories of my
- 9:20own too, But I think that you're on that same wavelength. Absolutely.
- 9:24I mean, once you sort of separate the actual phenomenon and how it's how
- 9:31it's witnessed from the interpretations that we sort of overlay on it, then it
- 9:35sort of does become a little bit more freeing in terms of how you can
- 9:39you know, interpret it. So, you know, one of the biggest
- 9:41ways that I tend to part to part ways with a lot of the orthodox
- 9:46thinking around this is that I kind of jumped off the extraterrestrial hypothesis bandwagon regarding
- 9:52UFOs a few years ago. Obviously I can't say that that's not what's going
- 9:58on, but for me and just sort of the connections that I've tended to
- 10:01see over the years, it seems to point to something a little bit more
- 10:03metaphysical. And yeah, I've often said that there are just so many places
- 10:11where these phenomena overlap that if it's not all the same thing wearing different masks,
- 10:16then these Venn diagrams overlap significantly. So that might mean it's maybe all
- 10:20coming from the same place and using the same mechanisms to get into our realm,
- 10:24and and that's why we see these similarities or you know, any number
- 10:28of other possibilities. But I do think at this point for me, in
- 10:31terms of what I've seen, there are aspects of the phenomena that I would
- 10:35be very uh, I would find it very difficult to say that they're not
- 10:41connected. Yeah, I think. I think they're totally connected. And something
- 10:46else that's connected are lay lines. And I have a friend who has been
- 10:48traveling around the country around the US plotting lay lines, and and she and
- 10:54I have become good friends, and and if I ever ask her for a
- 10:56location, I'm like, Hey, I'm heading up Illinois. Can you send
- 11:01me a map of your lay lines, just so I know you know what's
- 11:03going on up there? And she has no problem doing that. And I
- 11:07got to say, Joshua, she sent me a map of Georgia, okay,
- 11:11in the south, and there are lay lines going right through a lot
- 11:15of my research areas. Does that surprise you it? It doesn't. It
- 11:20doesn't because sometimes you stumble upon these areas and you just have this feeling that's
- 11:24like there is something going on here. There's a small community. Maybe I'll
- 11:28tell you about it at some other date because I don't want to sort of
- 11:31out where it is. But there's a small community that I stumbled upon here,
- 11:35not far from where I live at all, and I went there and
- 11:37I'm like, this is like some sort of you know, hillbilly Sedona.
- 11:41It just as a sort of vibe, you know. So yeah, it
- 11:43doesn't doesn't surprise me at all, and so yeah, it's really the yeah.
- 11:52Yeah. And I know that there was at least a claim at one
- 11:54point by someone who owned a business there that this particular location intersected with a
- 11:58bunch of lay line and so uh it does it does make me sort of
- 12:03wondering, you know. I I I think that there's a lot of interesting
- 12:07things to be talked about on the lay line subject. How does your how
- 12:11does your friend sort of determine this? Is it through dowsing or just psychic
- 12:13intuition or or what exactly? It's a lot of stuff. Actually, she
- 12:18I met her at the Edawa Indian Mounts, which are not too far from
- 12:22where you live and not too far from PA. Isn't it wonderful? I
- 12:28mean, I get out of my car there and I feel I actually heard
- 12:31the word and I felt giants, okay, giants of all things, which
- 12:35which is not surprising. Those those mounds are gigantic. I had no idea
- 12:41they were so big. Well, and actually, if memory serves, back
- 12:45when the Edawa Mounds were called let me get the name right, I'm gonna
- 12:48I'm cheating here and I'm looking at my BDF. At one point back when
- 12:54the mounds at Edawa were called the gil Mounds I think, or Tumblin I
- 13:01can't remember. But but before they were named, before they were you know,
- 13:05renamed Edela to get them closer to their actual indigenous name. Yeah,
- 13:09the Tumblin Mound before they were renamed that, that was one of the sites
- 13:13where they actually supposedly found a thigh bone that suggested that the owner of the
- 13:18thigh bone stood fourteen feet tall. So the fact that you sort of yeah,
- 13:22So the fact that you sort of clued in on that, yeah,
- 13:26is pretty interesting. Oh my gosh, I'm not shocked. Okay, So
- 13:28I met I met her there. Her name is my friend, Tracy.
- 13:31Okay. And so I met Tracy and Norma Jean and Tanya and Normangy is
- 13:37from North Georgia and Tanya's from Vancouver, Canada. And they had all gotten
- 13:41together and they were just kind of going and they were doing what we call
- 13:45grid work. Okay, where we're going. They're going to like places of
- 13:48power, ancient sites and and do us some energy clearing and stuff like that.
- 13:52And they were they were traveling along. I guess we're kind of connecting.
- 13:56I think Tracy was connecting the Indian burial mounds to each other, like
- 14:00traveling in these lines and trying to see there's something more to these, you
- 14:05know, where they're laid out and stuff like that. So that's kind of
- 14:07what she was doing. And she'd been to like Serpent Mound, and you
- 14:11know a bunch of other mounds, I mean, even the one up in
- 14:13Helen, you know, the one that's in Helen on top of it.
- 14:16Yeah, there's a tiny little one like near the Unicoy forest. Yeah,
- 14:20it's got the littlebo I know exactly which one you're talking about. Yeah,
- 14:22Yeah, it's called the Romeo and Juliet Mound is what they call it.
- 14:26Okay, Yeah, but it's kind another it's kind of Indian into Yeah,
- 14:28and I used to I used to have instant recall for this stuff, but
- 14:31I've forgotten now. But I mean that seems like a good strategy. I
- 14:35mean, if you look at sort of the old world monuments, they certainly
- 14:37tend to aligne along those lay lines. And I am of the opinion that,
- 14:41you know, the indigenous people in North America built their mounds, and
- 14:46the Indigenous people and the Old World built their mounds. And the reason that
- 14:48these things look as similar is just because it represents some sort of technology that
- 14:54we all sort of came up with as a species that that that really sort
- 14:58of allow us to access these these points sort of like outposts to the other
- 15:05world or launch pads into the other world. And there is some indication if
- 15:09you look sort of at the Old World traditions, and it's it's spoken to
- 15:13a little bit in some of the New World traditions as well, that these
- 15:16sort of straight paths are are sort of the same orientation that you would believe
- 15:22that spirits would travel on. There's this sort of sort of motif that you
- 15:26see through really worldwide of spirits being arrested by complexity. So this is why
- 15:31dreamcatchers work, or witches bottles, or you know. I know that in
- 15:35the in the American South, among some African American communities and like the Gola
- 15:39community of South Carolina, they would put a calender out on their front doorsteps,
- 15:43so the boo Hag would have to stop and count the calendar. So
- 15:46there's this idea that like spirits tend to be very direct in their pathways,
- 15:50and that seems to me to speak to maybe the fact that there's some sort
- 15:54of energy that is traveling between these sacred sites, regardless of where they were
- 15:58built in the world or the New World. Yeah, so that's that seems
- 16:02like it's good a technique for any us as figuring out lay lines in the
- 16:04US. Yeah. Yeah, you know, that just brought up something.
- 16:07And by the way, my light's just flickered. That was weird. Okay,
- 16:10what that about? Okay, maybe I'm not hearing tonight. We'll see.
- 16:14Yeah, what what is going on? Joshua, I don't know.
- 16:17I'm a little I'm perplexed right now. Okay, but uh but okay,
- 16:21So we're talking about bou hags, and that's something that's very Southern, something
- 16:25in like southern hair. I mean, I honestly like heritage, but like
- 16:27a story like the boo Hag. I mean, we have witches, we
- 16:30have boo hags, we have a lot of traditional things that we do down
- 16:33South, and as a matter of fact, our neighbor has blue bottles all
- 16:38over a tree outside their home, and and I'm thinking of like another house.
- 16:42I live in a historical area of my town, and some of the
- 16:45houses are very historical, and they're they're they have blue paint on the ceiling
- 16:49on their porchouse side, and they call that paint blue. Yeah, so
- 16:53what is up with this blue? There's a lot of a lot of blue
- 16:56stuff going on out here related to the pair. And Yeah, you find
- 17:00these sort of like little architectural quirks in certain places that you go. I
- 17:04can't speak exactly as to why the blue thing is a thing. I'm sure
- 17:10I read it at some point. I'm sure there's some theories that go back
- 17:12and forth. But the first time I ever heard about hat blue was in
- 17:17Charleston when I visited their Good Lord, probably a decade and a half ago
- 17:22or two decades ago. But you will find these sort of architectural quirks,
- 17:26and if you know what you look you're looking for, it really does sort
- 17:30of re enchant your different communities. I mean, one of the things that
- 17:33I always found interesting is there's this house near where my folks live. I'm
- 17:37from North Carolina, and you look at it and there's not a right angle
- 17:41in the house anywhere at all, and You're like, what's going on with
- 17:42this house? And it wasn't until years later that I found out that there
- 17:45was a certain belief that was especially prominent among spiritualists that spirits would actually congregate
- 17:52at right angles in homes. And there's actually there's actually a house in Illinois
- 17:56that was built by spiritualists after the trage the some of their children died that
- 18:02they actually did not include any right angles, so that would somehow facilitate the
- 18:06their their their deceased children coming in when they were they would conduct seances.
- 18:10It's a u the police station now and supposedly it has a lot of activity
- 18:14that goes around inside. So yeah, just just when once you start seeing
- 18:18these things, you start looking for little architectural quirks. I saw another post
- 18:22on Facebook today actually of a church in Vermont that's round. It's a round
- 18:27church, and I'm like, it's probably had something to do with that same
- 18:30idea about you know, right angles being conducive to h to spirit entrapment or
- 18:34something. So yeah, it's it's it's a it's a cool thing. It's
- 18:38a it's a rabbit hole all of its own. Oh my gosh. Okay,
- 18:41So I was just doing a show on Friday with my friend Eric at
- 18:45Paranormal Highway and uh and his brother. We were talking about the same thing.
- 18:48I'd never heard that before, about how when you sage a house,
- 18:52go to the corners because that's where the spirits ride. It makes sense.
- 18:56Yeah, I'm aware that in some old world traditions where they would have like,
- 19:00you know, a household spirit of some sort, and these were all
- 19:02very much culture dependent. You know, Brownies in Scotland or you know Domovoi,
- 19:07if you were in you know, Eurasia, just very much culture dependent.
- 19:11But if you were to have a household spirit, sometimes you would put
- 19:14its its offerings it's milk or it's bread or whatever for the day in that
- 19:17right angled corner. So yeah, it's all just one of those things that
- 19:21just That's the thing that fascinates me about a lot of these paranormal topics is
- 19:25because they really do color our experience day to day more than we realize.
- 19:30And it's we're still living with a lot of these beliefs and you know what,
- 19:33but people who don't believe would call superstitions even if we don't necessarily recognize
- 19:37them or or you know, acknowledge them ourselves. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 19:41And speaking of mounds, I've seen a video of you. You you've
- 19:45been to Ireland, okay, and you you really look into something that I
- 19:51have hardly ever talked about on my show. And I'm the cryptid huntress.
- 19:53I should be talking about fairies in the thing, and I haven't. I
- 19:57barely touch on them ever because I just don't know a lot about the faye,
- 20:02and that's your specialty, Josh. So I would love to talk to
- 20:06you about the fae tonight and the we folk, because I don't get a
- 20:10chance to do that. I would love to. So yeah, if you
- 20:15want to, you can just sort of put yourself on mute for the next
- 20:17forty five minutes and I'll go by myself talk up now in all seriousness.
- 20:22For some reason, and I don't really know why, but I became really
- 20:26enamored very early on with Jacques Vlat's nineteen sixty nine book Passport to Magonia.
- 20:32In that book, valid does a very good job, in my opinion,
- 20:34of showing how it looks like. And this is probably going to ruffle some
- 20:38feathers amongst people who are you know, hardcore extraterrestrial believers. But it does
- 20:44appear as if the UFO contact experience is in a lot of ways reworking a
- 20:49lot of these older motifs that we would have associated with fairies. And of
- 20:55course, you know, in twenty twenty three we hear fairies and we kind
- 20:56of laugh and like, oh, the little pixies and tinker Bell the wings
- 21:00and all that. But if you look back at these older traditions, which
- 21:03really are universal, I mean, I would say that every culture on every
- 21:07inhabited continent has some sort of belief that is at least a stand in for
- 21:11the fairy folk. They weren't these benevolent little winged women that grant wishes and
- 21:17stuff like that. They were a race of spirits in each of these cultures,
- 21:22called by many different names, but they generally share the same suite of
- 21:25attributes, which were the ability to change shape and change size, oftentimes appearing
- 21:30small, oftentimes living underground, and very fond of abducting people in the populations
- 21:36who were considered most vulnerable, which you know, back then was deemed to
- 21:40be women and children. And you'll find these sort of beliefs everywhere. But
- 21:42if you look at sort of the UFO stuff, the modern UFO contact experience,
- 21:48as compared to specifically the Western European fairyfolk encounters that you would read in
- 21:53something like Walter Evans Wentz's Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries, it's just like a
- 21:59laundry list of similarities. You know, not just the size and the the
- 22:03you know the size of the heads in terms of the grays, but like,
- 22:07you start to see these things and they get more and more specific.
- 22:10And there was a time when I used to say, I think that the
- 22:14UFO alien thing might be the same thing, but I'm not sure. But
- 22:17that really changed once I learned about something called the fairy blast, which was
- 22:22a belief in certain parts of Ireland and the British Isles that if you offended
- 22:26the fairies, which were famously capricious they could be they could either do things
- 22:32in your favor or do things against you. If you've got hit, if
- 22:34you got if you offended the fairies, you could get hit with a blast
- 22:37of wind. This is where blast, blustery, and blister they all share
- 22:41the same root. The fairy blast of blustery wind would hit your skin and
- 22:45cause a blister, and inside the blister would be all sorts of things.
- 22:49You read these these stories and these anecdotes where people would open up these fairy
- 22:53blast wounds, they'd extract a tooth or a bit of ceramic or you know,
- 22:57or nails or bones, and I'm like, well, that sounds a
- 23:00lot like the implant thing, doesn't it. You know, there's even a
- 23:04story I found from Newfoundland where they removed a bunch of string, which kind
- 23:08of sounds like Mark Ellum's right, which people have associated with the UFO contact
- 23:14experience. So that's when for me personally, I was able to say,
- 23:18it looks like these modern alien abductions and these older fairy kidnappings. I think
- 23:26that they're describing the same thing, and people sort of misinterpret what I mean
- 23:30by that. I'm not saying that UFOs, or rather, I'm not saying
- 23:33that modern aliens are fairies, and I'm not saying that fairies were aliens.
- 23:38I'm saying that we're both using these culture dependent descriptors to describe this thing that
- 23:44has an objective reality. But whatever we tend to call it is sort of
- 23:48what is best sanctioned by our culture at any given moment in time. And
- 23:52from there I've just have written a lot about that comparison in that intersection.
- 23:59But yeah, it's just I could, you know, we could probably go
- 24:02another you know, ninety minutes just on me listing all the different similarities between
- 24:06these two phenomena. And so it makes me think that was sort of the
- 24:08that was really my first step in adopting that that pan paranormal approach that you
- 24:14alluded to when we first started talking. Yeah, okay, so I we
- 24:19Okay, my team and I and myself personally, we experienced a lot of
- 24:23orbs out in the field and and they are all sorts of different orbs.
- 24:27Now, orbs are a very interesting topic because there are there are different types.
- 24:33I've seen orbs that are translucent, some that have faces in them that
- 24:36look human like, there are some that are metallic. Okay, And I
- 24:41have a friend, I have a good friend who was out in the field
- 24:44with me this weekend who has a video of orbs that shoot down past someone's
- 24:48camera in their backyard and they turn into gray aliens. Okay, and oh
- 24:53yeah, he needs to come on my show and release the footage, is
- 24:56what he needs to do. But he it was some from a friend who
- 25:00since passed away, and uh, and he promised her he wouldn't release it.
- 25:03But I'm trying to get him to release it. He will one day.
- 25:07I think I'm gonna get him to release it. It's important as far
- 25:11as disclosure goes, especially now there's so many different types of orbs. Now,
- 25:17some of those words can be explained by like gases and the ground and
- 25:21you know, moisture in the ground and things like that, but not the
- 25:23ones that we've experienced. Sometimes they turn I believe they may turn into sasquatch
- 25:30okay, or sasquatch turns into an orb It's almost like a non corporeal type
- 25:33of energy ball. Okay. It's just really odd. I mean, the
- 25:38more I'm experiencing this stuff, the less I know, obviously, because I
- 25:42thought, Yeah, the example that the example that I like to use nowadays
- 25:47is that like trying to figure out what the whole of the paranormal is is
- 25:51a bit like trying to like squeeze a watermelon seed. As you squeeze it,
- 25:56you know, just when you think you have a good grasp on it,
- 25:57it shoots out, shoots out and flies far away. I mean,
- 26:02the orbs are a perfect example sort of sort of what I'm talking about with
- 26:04the UFO, the alien fairy comp connection, because like, what is more
- 26:11what is more context dependent than an orb? Right? You see one in
- 26:14a house and it's a ghost, And you see one in the sky and
- 26:17it's the UFO. You see one above an old monument in Ireland and it's
- 26:21a fairy or you know, again this connection with Bigfoot that you that you
- 26:23alluded to as well, Yeah, I'm fascinated by them. I'm actually working
- 26:29on a project with a friend of mine that's going to be looking into that,
- 26:33because yep, you're right some of them. I have seen people sometimes
- 26:37get upset about this too. But I have seen photographs of orbs that are
- 26:41dust, and I have seen that some that are bugs. But I also
- 26:45have plenty of stories and I've seen lots of footage of things that do appear
- 26:49to be intelligently controlled and are not bugs or dust. You know, they
- 26:53reverse direction in odd ways and stuff like that. And of course these stories
- 26:59about you know, this connect between the lights and Bigfoot. You know,
- 27:03it's absolutely fascinating to me. I wrote about that a good deal with my
- 27:07co author Timothy Rinner in our books where the footprints end. And you know,
- 27:10it's interesting how I feel like the I don't know, maybe you could,
- 27:12you could tell me whether or not you get this sense as well.
- 27:15But it seems like the Bigfoot community, maybe not in the cryptosological community at
- 27:19large, but the Bigfoot community is really starting to warm up and open up
- 27:23about talking about some of these ghost life experiences. I seem to have noticed
- 27:27that. Okay, Well that's because you're hanging out with the right crown.
- 27:33Good. I'm just saying, you know, because there still is a primate
- 27:36in the Woods Camp. Okay. So there's like two camps. There's there's
- 27:38the wu Okay, And I'm a proud card carrying member of the wu Okay
- 27:45because that's what I've experienced. And that's all I know. I've experienced the
- 27:48Wu as they call it. I didn't even know it was the WU until
- 27:52I came to Space Out Radio, but I've experienced that from day one being
- 27:56out in the field. But there's also people that are still in the primate
- 28:00in the Woods Camp, and that's okay. Yeah, I'm just saying,
- 28:04yeah. I mean, oddly enough, I wound up in the wu Camp
- 28:07because I was really resonating with skeptical arguments, because I mean, like,
- 28:11you know, I would hear things like, so, first of all,
- 28:15ardent believer in the existence of something that we call bigfoot. I'm not saying
- 28:18that, but you know, you would hear these these sort of objections raised
- 28:22by the skeptical community of things like you know, well, why haven't we
- 28:26found a body? And yes, I can talk all day about like you
- 28:27know, porcupine stealing bones and big fo dealing burying their dead. I know
- 28:33all those those comments, but like or like, you know, the common
- 28:36comment of of you know, well, we don't often find bear and cougar
- 28:40carcasses, and I'm like, yeah, but we have it at some point,
- 28:41you know. So it kind of makes me wonder if there's not something
- 28:45again stranger than you know, a flesh and blood primate going on. And
- 28:49sort of the objection that I get from the flesh and blood hypothesis, folks,
- 28:53is that, you know, well, ghosts don't leave footprints, and
- 28:56ghosts don't leave behind hair, and ghosts don't leave behind and blood. And
- 29:00I'm like, I think that if you were to read your parapsychological literature that
- 29:04doesn't seem to be quite the distinction that we should be drawing. I mean,
- 29:07one of the first ways to ghost hunt was to spread talcum powder on
- 29:11the floor and wait for footprints to manifest. Ghost slam doors. And you
- 29:15know, if you look into the other side literature talking about things like a
- 29:18ports and poltergeist phenomena, you have these objects that seemingly have a physical basis,
- 29:23you know, they some people have collections of these aports that just seem
- 29:27to materialize out of nowhere. So I think that we sort of need to
- 29:30rethink what we're talking about when we talk about physical and non physical, and
- 29:33that gets into very uncomfortable territory for some folks. But I also think there
- 29:38might be a way to have our cake and eat it too. What I
- 29:41mean by that is that if you look at something like the UFO phenomenon,
- 29:45you'll inevitably run into stories of screen memories right where there's an owl associated with
- 29:52the UFOs or there's a deer associated with the UFOs. And you know,
- 29:56I believe that flesh and blood owls exist, and I believe that flesh and
- 30:00blood beer exists. So maybe there is a small population of relic commonids,
- 30:06and this is just another one of those masks that whatever this stranger phenomenon is
- 30:11sometimes appropriates whenever it makes contact with human beings. That's sort of my attempt
- 30:15to make everyone happy. And I realized that I won't make everyone happy,
- 30:18but yeah, whatever, yeah, yeah, well okay, Well I have
- 30:22a really interesting connection, okay, because I know that you make a connection
- 30:29between UFOs possible alien abductions in the dead. Okay, yeah, okay,
- 30:34And now now I have something really interesting to tell you tonight. Okay.
- 30:37And I've been dying to tell you this. Okay, I've been dying to
- 30:41tell you this, and I'm actually super excited that you're here tonight. Let
- 30:42me take this comment down. I feel like my face is covered up there.
- 30:45Okay, sorry, I gotta have the full screen for this one.
- 30:49Okay. So when I was a kid, I used to get visited by
- 30:53ghosts. Okay, when I would wake up at night and I'd have people
- 30:56standing around the bed, and even into my early twenties okay, and I'm
- 31:00going to say thirties okay, because even up until the time my brother passed
- 31:03away in two thousand and six. The older don't know how old I am
- 31:07now okay, unfortunately, but you know it was I would have people and
- 31:12they looked as solid as you and I okay, and they would talk to
- 31:17me and their mouths would never move okay. And I would always notice that
- 31:21they would stand there and they would be in period clothing like Victorian era or
- 31:25whatever era I don't know, but their mouths wouldn't move, but I could
- 31:29hear their voices. Okay. So I spent my whole life thinking I was
- 31:33being visited by ghosts. Well, then once I started going to the woods
- 31:38and doing bigfooting, I started I had a possible alien UFO experience. I
- 31:44had several out in the field, and the head of my team said,
- 31:47okay, I need you guys to start studying UFOs and alien abductions. And
- 31:51so I started, and I was like, wow, I came out here
- 31:52to do bigfooting, not get abdupted by aliens. Okay. But around that
- 31:57time I was reading books like Communion and The Threat and all sorts of different
- 32:05books just to learn about alien abductions. And I started having aliens in my
- 32:08bedroom at night, okay. And they were exactly They had the exact same
- 32:15mannerisms as those ghosts had had as I when I was a kid. Okay,
- 32:20so I started thinking, I'm getting ghost bumps right now. I started
- 32:22connecting that I think those ghosts were actually ets. Yeah, I mean so,
- 32:30no, I think that's the right train of thought to be on.
- 32:32I tried, as as someone who considers themselves a comparativist, I try to
- 32:38sort of not pass as many judgments on whether or not the ghosts were ET's
- 32:43or the ET's were ghosts, or any of those things in between. But
- 32:45yes, I do think that you're absolutely right in there being something of a
- 32:50connection there. I mean, well, obviously I do, because I wrote
- 32:52two gigantic books on it. But yeah, it's something that once you start
- 32:58digging into sort of the history of the UFO phenomena, looking back to the
- 33:01contact era of the fifties and sixties, you'll start to find these allusions to
- 33:06there being some sort of link to the dead. The link to the dead
- 33:08is baked into that fairy connection that I mentioned earlier, because a lot of
- 33:13a lot of cultures, again especially in Western Europe. But I make an
- 33:16argument in Ecology of Soul's Volume one that this was a worldwide phenomena. A
- 33:21lot of these cultures that thought of fairies, sort of thought of them in
- 33:23the context of the dead. There are stories of the dead showing up next
- 33:27to fairies, or the dead becoming fairies. So if you use that sort
- 33:30of transitive property, if the alien stuff and the fairy stuff is describing the
- 33:36same thing, and there's kind of, you know, these dead spirits creeping
- 33:39in on the perimeter, on the periphery, then is that is that implying
- 33:45that there really is this is all sort of one larger reality. And of
- 33:47course, you know you mentioned communion. There's this famous anecdote that Whitley tells
- 33:52time and again of his wife Anne sort of acting as an an administrational capacity,
- 34:00you know, receiving correspondence from readers and writing them back and sort of
- 34:05making observations. And one of the observations that she made, which she has
- 34:07talked about in his books time and time again, is this has something to
- 34:10do with what we call death, which I always think is an interesting way
- 34:14of putting it. What we call death, because you know, it could
- 34:17be a lot of things. And I think some of the discussion now around
- 34:22the possibility of these beings being interdimensional might be hinting at this sort of death
- 34:25connection because there are a lot of people who have near death experiences and then
- 34:30see UFOs afterwards, or vice versa. They'll have a childhood experience with a
- 34:34UFO and then have a near death experience. People who see UFOs grow up
- 34:37in haunted houses. A lot of people who have UFO sightings have poultergeist phenomena
- 34:42afterwards. Nobody talks about this, but it seems to be like a majority
- 34:45of people who have a dramatic UFO. Yeah, yeah, So what is
- 34:50this, you know, is the poltergeist thing? I know, there's a
- 34:52conversation around it just being like you know late in SI you know, RSPK
- 34:57sort of firing off afterwards, but like it's something that we once understood as
- 35:01being spirit or ghost related. So and then of course, you know,
- 35:05a lot of dead loved ones show up a board craft in these alien abductions.
- 35:09I really don't know what to do, what to do with it,
- 35:12Like I kind of find found something that works for me in the ecology of
- 35:16souls, but it's just such a strange outlier and it really does raise a
- 35:22lot of questions. But again, it points to the fact that these things
- 35:24are somehow connected, which I kind of find thrilling because it implies that there
- 35:30is a layer of reality underneath what we observe that is just as real and
- 35:37just as important to our lives, if not more. Yeah. Yeah,
- 35:42I mean I've always seen that there is a connection between all this stuff,
- 35:44but like this gets way more precise and deeper into the phenomenon all being connected,
- 35:50because it all makes sense because I have seen objects levity right in front
- 35:54of my face. Okay, I've seen an object with nothing there. Of
- 35:58course, I'm a remote before I was a remote viewer, and it really
- 36:02tapped into my psychic abilities. But I mean I've made I'm not going to
- 36:06say I made, you know, things cut on like didn't have batteries in
- 36:09them, but I think I did. I've got toys cut on it had
- 36:13no batteries in them, right right underneath my bed, like a Santa Claus.
- 36:15For instance. There was a Santa Claus toy that belonged to my great
- 36:19grandmother the night that she died. This is a story I don't tell often.
- 36:22The night that she died, I didn't know she died, and she
- 36:25had given me this creepy, creepy Santa Claus that danced and it moved its
- 36:29hips and it said Merry Christmas. And I all I heard from coming out
- 36:34from under my bed was Jessica, I'm going to kill you. Oh Jesus.
- 36:37I thought I couldn't because it was like, whoa, I couldn't.
- 36:40And in my mind, I was like, what is that sound. I
- 36:45started pulling things out from under my bed frantically, like, oh my god,
- 36:49what is that? And it was that Santa Claus and it was moving
- 36:51and it was talking as I pulled it out, and I said Merry Christmas.
- 36:55And I found out the next morning my great grandmother had died at the
- 37:00same time that doll was talking. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. You find
- 37:04these little synchronicities like that sort of bubbling up around contact experience and you know
- 37:08the fact that you've had electronic malfunction. I mean that's something that you see
- 37:12for when people who have had near death experiences. Now I'm not the first
- 37:15person to bring this up. I mean this was explored at length with Kenneth
- 37:19Ring's research in the Omega Project comparing you know, alien abductions to near death
- 37:23experiences and Eddie Bullard, who is a folk lourse from Indiana University compared alien
- 37:29abductions to sort of shamanic initiations. But you know, I think what if
- 37:32Ecology of Souls does anything. It sort of puts all these different interpretations into
- 37:37dialogue with one another, so you can kind of come away with an idea
- 37:39of what happened. But it really does seem that there is something that connects
- 37:45all these things. And like I said, that's that's why I sort of
- 37:46started off by saying, like, once you sort of admit that maybe the
- 37:52extra extraterrestrial hypothesis isn't correct, and maybe the big monkey in the woods idea
- 37:57with Bigfoot isn't correct, and honestly may maybe the idea that ghosts are dead
- 38:00people might not be correct. Once you start to sort of look at other
- 38:05options, it really does allow you to draw some connections that you might not
- 38:09have normally drawn. Yeah, an open mind is so important when you're doing
- 38:15the stuff that you and I are doing. You got to keep an open
- 38:16mind about this stuff. I mean, you know, there's the shadow people
- 38:21in Happening and people often ask me, since I'm a remote viewer, do
- 38:24you think shadow people are remote viewers? And I used to say, oh,
- 38:28heck, no, no, there's no way. And now I'm like,
- 38:30well, maybe they are. I don't know. I love this.
- 38:35I love this idea because you know, if you look sort of through the
- 38:37literature, I mean, well not even the literature, if you just look
- 38:39at your folklore. I hesitate sometimes to say that something's universal, But the
- 38:45idea that a ball of light is the soul, like that is a universal
- 38:49thing, and that has spawned a lot of speculation over the years that some
- 38:52of these UFOs that are seeing in the sky that are not structured craft but
- 38:58are just balls of light might be souls. Souls of the dead maybe,
- 39:01but also perhaps you know, souls of people who are astraally traveling or doing
- 39:06something like remote viewing. You mentioned you know, shadow people perhaps being remote
- 39:12viewers. And as a remote viewer yourself, are you familiar with the story
- 39:15of Ingo Swan remote viewing the Moon? Absolutely? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 39:21that titled book. But yeah, there's there's that moment when the moon
- 39:29people turn around and they and they look at him in whatever state he is,
- 39:32right, like they realize that they're being observed. If we take one
- 39:36goes testimony and its face value. And so my question is what did the
- 39:39people on the moon see, right, Did they see a spinning disk?
- 39:45Did they see a glowing orb? Did they see a shadow person? Like
- 39:49the idea that we could maybe be observing souls of some sort that are dislodged
- 39:54and and sort of doing their own thing, and that's what we see in
- 39:57some in some cases, at least with the UFO and I'm gonna or with
- 40:00shadow people, or honestly with a lot of these different topics. It's something
- 40:04that I find endlessly fascinating, and it's something that's been played with for a
- 40:07while. I think even John Keele speculated that perhaps the some of these glowing
- 40:13orbs might be people whose souls have you know, left their body temporarily,
- 40:15because I think we all do this and when we sleep and stuff, you
- 40:19know, so obviously there would be a lot of them at night, you
- 40:22know, astral traveling. Yeah, I mean, this isn't I love this
- 40:24conversation we're having tonight. Now. I wanted to kind of go back a
- 40:28little bit to these fairies real quick, because I was remembering a friend of
- 40:31mine sent me some pictures of some rocks, and I think this was in
- 40:36Central America or South America, and it was rocks. And this friend of
- 40:39mine said that this is pretty common down there, that they'll take these rocks.
- 40:43They're almost like, it's not really a geode, it's a regular rock,
- 40:46but they crack them open with a hammer and there's fairy bones in them.
- 40:51And he sent me a picture and I thought, oh, it can't
- 40:52be real, and he was like, no, I believe he's a real.
- 40:57What do you think about that? Have you seen that? I haven't
- 41:00seen that specifically, and my mind goes in about seven different directions. So
- 41:05you know, the first thing that I will say is that generally speaking,
- 41:07when I see like a fairy mummy, your body or something, I'm put
- 41:12in the mind of gaffs like the Fiji Mermaid and stuff like that. But
- 41:16you know, that's not really a fair stance because if you look back through
- 41:20a lot of sort of the literature, it's always emphasized, much as our
- 41:22discussion with Bigfoot, possibly that these things have a spiritual and a physical side.
- 41:28I mean, you know, I'm talking about UFOs as being psychic objects
- 41:31here, but they do leave burn marks in the ground, and they do
- 41:35seem to have that sort of physical nature as well, so that in that
- 41:39sense, perhaps there is something such as fairy bones. I mean, we
- 41:43certainly see lots of fairy artifacts from the Old World in the form of like
- 41:46fairy chalices. One of my favorite ones is a set of little fairy shoes
- 41:51that are made of mouse leather. And I'm like, who's gonna skin and
- 41:53tan mouse leather? Like, who's gonna do that? Right? Yeah?
- 41:58So like there does there does seem to be some sort of interplay between the
- 42:00physical and the non physical in this sense too. And you know, you
- 42:05might, if you're sort of in immerse in some of the literature that I
- 42:07am, draw comparisons to things like saints relics, or things like the phenomenon
- 42:15of stigmata, where people are not really suffering physical wounds, but their bodies
- 42:20are still manifesting physical symptoms. So it seems like there are aspects of this
- 42:23let's call it the other world that can sort of leave behind relics around which
- 42:30belief sort of belief sort of wells up, I guess. And the other
- 42:35thing that your story put me in the mindset of was these Old fourteen stories.
- 42:40They're some of my favorites of the toad in the hole. Are you
- 42:44familiar with these, it was it needs to be a very common thing where,
- 42:49you know, people working in a quarry and dartmoor or something would be
- 42:54would have like a rock and they'd crack it open and there would be a
- 42:57fish inside or a frog inside. The biggest, the the the most famous
- 43:05pop culture version of this is Michigan Jay Frog from the Looney Tunes films.
- 43:09He was discovered in a I believe in the In the cartoon, they're working
- 43:13on a construction site and he's discovered in the cornerstone of the foundation. It's
- 43:15it's a variation on that entombed animals trope. And you'll find this throughout a
- 43:21lot of this older folklore that people claim to crack open, you know,
- 43:25claim to crack open rocks, you know, quarried at extensive depths, and
- 43:30they'll find everything inside from frogs to salamanders to reptiles and and things like that.
- 43:36So it kind of sounds like the same sort of thing that we're talking
- 43:38about with these these fories in case in these geodes. Yeah, wow,
- 43:43yeah, that's pretty fascinating. I mean, we live as such a weird,
- 43:45awesome world and uh and I had one other thing I just wanted to
- 43:51like tell you about this. This is such a cool story because when I
- 43:54was I've been listening to some of your interviews and your you talk about you
- 43:58make that connection with the UF, and I was kind of making the connection
- 44:01to orbs being connected to death, okay, and people who have either passed
- 44:07over or at the time of death or even at the time of an alien
- 44:10abduction, there are ghosts there, okay. So like there's ghosts, there's
- 44:15orbs, there's all this stuff is like interconnected. And we have a lot
- 44:19of stories in my family that are passed down for generations of paranormal stuff that
- 44:23happened, including et abductions, which my great grandmother called it angels moving her
- 44:29out of harm's way. Okay, when they had an abduction back in the
- 44:32nineteen eighties in their car driving down the road. But back in I think
- 44:37either early nineteen hundreds. There's a late eighteen hundreds one of my great great
- 44:42great great grandmothers was passing away in her house and the whole family had come
- 44:45to gather around as she was dying, and they said that a fireball floated
- 44:52out of the woods and it circled the entire house. Passed the windows under
- 44:58the house, and inside the house, I went in every single room and
- 45:01and then it left, and then it went back into the woods and it
- 45:04disappeared. They called it a fireball, but it was really an orb.
- 45:07It was like an orb or something, and it went in and it just
- 45:09kind of checked everybody out, and everybody just stood there and watched it as
- 45:12it moved through the house. Well it was it was just ball lightning.
- 45:15Come on, just but just ball lighting lightning. I don't think so.
- 45:19Well. That's that's another thing that you will find, you know, through
- 45:22a lot, through a lot of these different folklores. Again, it's one
- 45:25of the things it seems kind of universal. It's it's getting close to it
- 45:30if it's not literally that where these sort of light orbs are considered death omens.
- 45:37You know, we were talking about lay lines in the beginning. Sometimes
- 45:39these light orbs would travel along these uh straight lines which were sort of considered
- 45:45corpse roads. There would be the roads from the church to the to the
- 45:47cemetery, and the procession of lights would always occur before a death in the
- 45:52community. So that's just one example from you know, parts of Western Europe.
- 45:57But you know, these ideas found their ways. I mean, honestly,
- 46:00you'll find them in a lot of indigenous testimony from the New World.
- 46:04You'll find it in Australia, India, and in a lot of different places.
- 46:09But I know that there was at least at one point a survey of
- 46:14people, and I believe it was one of the Midwestern states. I think
- 46:16it might have been Illinois of people around the turn of the century that just
- 46:20collected members of this one county and all their stories that they had with these
- 46:24lights appearing just before or just after people's deaths, and and it's it's an
- 46:30incredibly common thing. And you know, interestingly enough, if you look at
- 46:36sort of the UFO literature, you'll find examples of certain experiencers who have had
- 46:39that same sort of thing, and of course, given the framework that they're
- 46:43working in, they're like, oh, the the you know, the beings
- 46:45from another planet are coming to take me away. One of the famous examples
- 46:49is, or a more famous example, I guess is the son of UFO
- 46:54contact e Howard Minger, who had a lot of light phenomenon on his bed.
- 47:00He tragically died at an early age from cancer, but he told his
- 47:02parents to not worry because they were the beings from I believe it was a
- 47:07Ryan that were going to come take them away. So we see the same
- 47:09thing, these lights around the time of death. It's just a matter of
- 47:13what the people who are experiencing it have a framework for in terms of what
- 47:15they call it. Because if you look back to you know, that example
- 47:20that I provided from Western Europe about these lights traversing along these corpse roads,
- 47:24you know, they were called you know, the they were called corpse candles
- 47:28because they were somehow viewed as this harbinger of spirits carrying candles in this in
- 47:32this premonition of a funeral procession, procession, not possession procession. That's that's
- 47:40that's amazing. I mean, it's it's it's it's so consistent though, I
- 47:44mean, that's that seems to be a thing that a lot of people have
- 47:45shared over the years. Wow, well I had never heard that story,
- 47:50but I mean, anyone else tell a story like that. But then when
- 47:52I think I did talk about that one time on one of my shows,
- 47:55and I had people that said, hey, I've heard stories like that with
- 47:58my family too. Oh yeah, and this is your great grandmother. You
- 48:04said it was like a great She was married to my great grandfather who was
- 48:07in the Civil Wars. It was like three great. Well, I can
- 48:10only assume that she was a very good person because there's there's a lot of
- 48:15stories about, you know, these lights appearing directly after the death of saints.
- 48:22If you go back through sort of the stories of death bed you know,
- 48:27experiences of saints, so you'll find a lot of illusions of this ball
- 48:30of light coming into the room or leaving the room at the time of their
- 48:32death. Wow, oh my gosh. Well, I know that my grandfather,
- 48:37who's my mom's dad, he was a saint, Like I mean,
- 48:40he wasn't. It wasn't official, but in my book he was. He
- 48:44was a saint. If there ever was a saint, that was my granddaddy.
- 48:46Okay, so it would make sense, yeah it was yeah, but
- 48:52yeah, okay, So one one more topic because we've got just a few
- 48:54more minutes. We got about ten more minutes. What about the little people?
- 48:59Have you ever experience the people? I know you studied the fae,
- 49:02but what about little people, because that's a little different, a little different.
- 49:06Yeah, I mean again, like the size thing is always a little
- 49:10bit confusing because you know, the fairies were oftentimes considered size shifters. I
- 49:15have never experienced that, I don't think in that sense. With one exception.
- 49:22There was a period of time back around I can't remember how old I
- 49:28must have been, maybe between five and eight when my parents were putting an
- 49:32addition on the house that we were in, And I have since confirmed this
- 49:37with my mother, so I'm not misremembering this or crazy, but there were
- 49:44parts of the house where she and I would find a stack, always four
- 49:49quarters, just stacked up, and they'll be in the oddest places, like
- 49:52behind you know, a big dictionary that we hadn't pulled out in years,
- 49:57and we'd pull it out and there would be a stack of four quarters back
- 50:00and you know, I don't know what that is. It kind of sounds
- 50:02a little bit like poulter Geist phenomena, to be frank, But again,
- 50:06you know, a lot of the Poltry guyst phenomena was at one point also
- 50:07attributed to little people and faithful, but it also sounds very sort of ambition
- 50:14and playful and fairy like. So that's probably the closest thing in terms of
- 50:16my experience with the little people that I've had, But I just find it
- 50:21so fascinating that, you know, you look at these old world stories of
- 50:24the fairies and then you come over here and you look at all these indigenous
- 50:29tribes and how so many of them I think maybe don't quote me on this,
- 50:34but I think maybe something like around eighty percent of the tribes had stories
- 50:38of little people. And you know plenty of those stories down here in Georgia
- 50:44as well. You know, there's the nun Yena he was sort of a
- 50:47version of the Cherokee fairies. Also the Innutriency another version of it. And
- 50:53I think just up the road from us, in Blood Mountain there was supposed
- 50:57to be a nun Yaahe townhouse at one point, and you know, Blood
- 51:01Mountain kind of has some interesting lore around it as well. So yeah,
- 51:07one day, one day, maybe, you know, maybe I'll maybe I'll
- 51:08see something. Yeah. Man, there's so much going on in those mountains,
- 51:14and my team's up there doing Bigfoot research pretty often and just going camping.
- 51:17I mean I was just up there camping about a month ago, and
- 51:22we have so much fun up there. Oh my gosh, so Bigfoot.
- 51:25Let's let me ask you another question. I said, the little people probably
- 51:29the last thing we talk about, but we still got some time. Bigfoot.
- 51:32What do you think? Okay? What what is a bigfoot? Do
- 51:35you do you think? Okay, we said, you said, it's not
- 51:37just like primate in the woods. Do you think that they could be interer
- 51:40dimensional? That's the question that I'll get all the time. So one of
- 51:45the things that I mean, the short answer is yes on one of the
- 51:49things that you know I mentioned where the footprints and that I did with Tim
- 51:52Renner. One of the things that we did is we sort of made it
- 51:54a point in that book to show how so many aspects of bigfoot lore over
- 52:00lap with you know, ghost folklore, with which folklore, with UFO stories,
- 52:06and with fairy folk lore too. I mean, you know, it's
- 52:08interesting that if you look back through some of this again, this fairy lore,
- 52:13again focusing on Western Europe, because that's where we sort of have a
- 52:15lot of a lot of our data from. At one point, you know,
- 52:20fairies were blamed for sneaking into stables and devon and braiding horses hairs,
- 52:27so horses manes, which is the exact same thing that you hear in regards
- 52:30to bigfoot. In some parts of the some parts of the US today,
- 52:32So you know, I think that might be it. I kind of get
- 52:37even a little bit stranger than strange here at this point. And where I
- 52:40kind of have wound up at this point with the Bigfoot thing is that maybe
- 52:44it is just like the UFOs related to the dead I can, I can
- 52:47make a case for that, But also it seems to be there's another interpretation
- 52:53that that Tim favors, that is, the Bigfoot is an expression of this
- 53:00wild man archetype. And you know, I tend to think of archetypes as
- 53:02sort of like the source code for the universe and how our reality works,
- 53:07and that it continues to adapt and change over the years, and that a
- 53:12lot of the strange things we see in the forest or we hear in the
- 53:15forest are attributable to that wild man archetype. And it just so happens that
- 53:20the most dramatic version of that is actually seeing it. So in that sense,
- 53:23it might be interdimensional. I mean, there are plenty of stories I've
- 53:25read as well about you know, bigfoot stepping in and out of portals,
- 53:29and that certainly explains you know, these trackways that in the middle of open
- 53:32fields that a lot of Bigfoot investigators don't like to necessarily acknowledge, but I
- 53:38mean, yeah, I think that for me, embracing a stranger source for
- 53:45Bigfoot is the only thing that really reconciles a lot of these differences that I
- 53:51see in a lot of the data. Because I do believe I've talked to
- 53:53enough people. I've had some Bigfoot adjacent things happen to me. I've never
- 53:57seen Bigfoot, but you know, I've talked to enough people, and I've
- 54:01there's such good physical data for there being something out there that I have to
- 54:07believe its existence to a degree. And you I also have to sort of
- 54:09look at this other data and say, how do I, you know,
- 54:12make these two things play together? And I think getting weird is the only
- 54:15way that I can do it. Getting weird. You're born weird. I
- 54:19tell you what I feel like. I was one weird. I was looking
- 54:22back at my life absolutely. Now you're talking about Timothy Renner right with Strange
- 54:24Familiars. Yes, he's awesome, Yeah, great guy. He has a
- 54:28great he has a great podcast, and I think I've interviewed him a while
- 54:30back with my buddy Bigfoot Michigan rode with him. He's a dear friend of
- 54:37mine, and I just found out that one of my sister in law,
- 54:39one of my sisters in law, moved within a short distance of him.
- 54:44So now I have excuses to go see Tim regularly. So I'm I'm I'm
- 54:46happy. I'm tickled pink about that. That's awesome. Jerry says that Duke
- 54:52from World Bigfoot Radio, if here's the fairy folk more than Bigfoot, I
- 54:55tell you what, I tell you what, Like, I had this experience
- 54:59when I went over to Iron in twenty seventeen and just chatting casually with folks,
- 55:02you know, there were twenty somethings i'd talk to who would say things
- 55:05like, well, of course I don't believe in fairies, but I'm scared
- 55:07the death of them. So I think that's a wise thing to be.
- 55:10Like, they're they're you know, you hear these stories about them just wreaking
- 55:15havoc in people's lives. Apparently they don't even like the F word, although
- 55:20I've been using it throughout this entire conversation. But yeah, something as simple
- 55:23as that, For something as simple as that, they could just you know,
- 55:28blind you or make you sick forever, or take you or take a
- 55:30loved one or oh yeah, oh yeah. They are capricious is the word?
- 55:36Yeah, capricious is the word? Well, what do they prefer to
- 55:38be called? Not a Well, there are euphemisms, and they're always region
- 55:43dependent. You know, the good folk, the fair folk, the gentry,
- 55:47you know, the people of peace. Like you'll, they're always like
- 55:51really like flattering names so that you're offending them. Yeah. Oh man,
- 55:54well I learned something brand new tonight. I love that. Yeah. And
- 55:59it's almost like, you know, skin walkers. I know, I'm not
- 56:00supposed to some people don't like to say that word. So it's very similar
- 56:04to that. It's like some people don't want you to say that word.
- 56:07Yeah, and you know there I believe it's amongst the Tlinget people of Alaska.
- 56:12You're not supposed to say kushtaka, which is one of the yes,
- 56:16I was going to say that, ye yeah, yeah, yeah, so
- 56:19yes. So do you see these prohibitions, Yeah, you do see these
- 56:22prohibitions against speaking the names of these things, which you know, it might
- 56:25be that, uh, people were sort of sharing these stories somehow across the
- 56:31Atlantic, but I'm of the opinion that everybody is coming to these conclusions because
- 56:37they're reaching the same objective, objective conclusion. They're they're experiencing these things.
- 56:40That's why they have these similar similar beliefs no matter where you go. Yeah,
- 56:45yeah, well, this has been absolutely fun and amazing, Joshua,
- 56:50thank you so much for being here tonight. This hour has flown by as
