- 0:44Speaker 3: are the Avid indoors Men. Everybody, Hello, everybody. We're talking
- 0:50Speaker 3: about a new movie. I'm so excited for new movies.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Suit me too, right, it's gonna be fun.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I love it when we do the new movie once.
- 0:57Speaker 3: It makes it a little difficult to record because, yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 3: we got to go see the movie. It's like, all,
- 1:02Speaker 3: you know, hopefully we get it out while it's still
- 1:05Speaker 3: in the theaters and all that. But it's exciting.
- 1:08Speaker 2: It's just an exciting day.
- 1:09Speaker 4: This one will be fun too, because I think it'll
- 1:11Speaker 4: probably stay in theaters for a little bit. If I
- 1:13Speaker 4: had to guess, yeah, I think maybe a little bit.
- 1:17Speaker 3: My guess is that it'll be in those Imax theaters
- 1:20Speaker 3: for a really long time since yeah, unless.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Spiders some of that too, I guess.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I don't know how.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I don't know that.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'm seeing that this week too. Exciting, very exciting.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I'm seeing it also this week we go out to Utah.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Oh lovely and Tim. Tim already went and got tickets
- 1:41Speaker 3: for us one of the days, so smart, smart, I
- 1:43Speaker 3: think it's the day it comes out. Does it come
- 1:45Speaker 3: out on Thursday?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:46Speaker 4: I think so, look at you. That's what I'm seeing
- 1:50Speaker 4: it too.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Before I head north, mine's a noon showing on Thursday.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Does it? Does it actually come out Wednesday?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Then?
- 1:57Speaker 1: No?
- 1:57Speaker 4: So I looked at this too, because I'm going to
- 1:59Speaker 4: like a three o'clock or something. Yeah, I don't know
- 2:02Speaker 4: why for this one they're doing them earlier.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I mean, I'm all about it. Yeah, but usually the
- 2:08Speaker 3: Thursday is like usually the Thursday night.
- 2:10Speaker 4: The only reason I say I don't think wednesdays because
- 2:13Speaker 4: then I was like, well, hell, I got Wednesday wide open,
- 2:15Speaker 4: let me look at this, and there was no options
- 2:17Speaker 4: for that, so sure, so Thursday was the first, but
- 2:21Speaker 4: they were all day Thursday, which yeah, I thought was interesting.
- 2:25Speaker 4: I don't know what it was, but yeah, so that'll.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Be very fun.
- 2:29Speaker 3: That will be fun.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Probably have another new movie to talk about with that.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Maybe what else probably can tell.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I also just wanted to say it was fun hanging
- 2:38Speaker 3: out with you this weekend, dude.
- 2:39Speaker 4: It was so fun. Little pool party at your folks place.
- 2:43Speaker 3: My folks they do like a summer pool party every year,
- 2:47Speaker 3: and uh, it was a success.
- 2:49Speaker 4: One of my favorite days of the summer. It's grown
- 2:51Speaker 4: into now they've been doing it for I don't know
- 2:55Speaker 4: that I've been invited to four years.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Five years. Yeah, probably five years is crazy. Crazy.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's pretty fun. But it's the most people I've
- 3:02Speaker 3: ever seen in that pool.
- 3:04Speaker 4: It was nuts. I got to hang out with your
- 3:07Speaker 4: kids a lot.
- 3:07Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Yeah, but a lot of ring toss, which was great. Well,
- 3:12Speaker 4: you guys did so much work.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Kelsey, it was funny because I was sweating so bad.
- 3:17Speaker 3: It was so humid. Here's the weather we did, thank god.
- 3:24Speaker 3: But yeah, I was just drenched. I actually took one
- 3:27Speaker 3: of my dad's shirts so that I could, yeah, not
- 3:32Speaker 3: be soaked on.
- 3:33Speaker 2: The way home. That was crazy. It was crazy.
- 3:35Speaker 4: It was crazy for that whole time, So sorry.
- 3:43Speaker 3: We're good. You were helping. You got the distract the kiddos.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Ah, yeah, what a great day. It was lovely.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I didn't even get sunburnt, which is just crazy. Well
- 3:55Speaker 4: maybe a little bit on the shoulders, but not much
- 3:57Speaker 4: considering I was in that pool.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I don't know all the day, seven hours or something.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, crazy.
- 4:04Speaker 4: But movies, Rob, what movie films I have?
- 4:09Speaker 3: I brought it up to you while we were in
- 4:11Speaker 3: the pool. But I watched an awesome movie that is
- 4:15Speaker 3: currently available to rent called Tuoner.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I still haven't seen this one yet.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it's great. I had heard people talking about this
- 4:25Speaker 3: on the interwebs and decided to check it out, and
- 4:28Speaker 3: it is awesome. The biggest name in it is Dustin Hoffman.
- 4:34Speaker 3: The main actor is a guy named Leo Woodhall, who
- 4:38Speaker 3: is incredible. He plays a guy with this hearing condition
- 4:41Speaker 3: where everything is extremely loud, so he's always wearing earplugs
- 4:47Speaker 3: and headphones. He used to be a virtuosic pianist, but
- 4:52Speaker 3: his condition made it so he couldn't play anymore, but
- 4:55Speaker 3: he could tune pianos hence ah. But he also realizes
- 5:01Speaker 3: that that crazy hearing makes it so that he can
- 5:05Speaker 3: open safes. And that is just a fun, little little wrinkle.
- 5:10Speaker 2: We get it.
- 5:11Speaker 3: But I really enjoyed it. The director killed it. His
- 5:16Speaker 3: name is Daniel Rower. Nice, and I'll be looking out
- 5:20Speaker 3: for what he does next. The sound is such a
- 5:23Speaker 3: huge part of this movie. I wouldn't be surprised if
- 5:26Speaker 3: it gets a nomination.
- 5:27Speaker 4: That's cool for that, very nice.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it was really cool. He did a lot of
- 5:33Speaker 3: really neat things, and yeah, I was surprised. It feels
- 5:38Speaker 3: pretty indie, but it was.
- 5:42Speaker 2: It was great.
- 5:43Speaker 3: I would highly recommend.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It, very cool.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Love it one of my favors so far this year.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to check that out for sure.
- 5:50Speaker 3: What have you been watching?
- 5:51Speaker 4: A movie? I really liked that. I went to the
- 5:54Speaker 4: theater and saw and I think you have talked about
- 5:56Speaker 4: it on here already, but I can't.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I just can't remember anymore what we talked about.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Where have you talked about the invites on here?
- 6:03Speaker 2: I did, Okay, I thought you did.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I went and saw it, so I guess I will
- 6:08Speaker 4: go too crazy with this. But I also loved it.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I thought it was really super funny, very intense, really
- 6:17Speaker 4: well done. I totally get what you mean now by
- 6:21Speaker 4: it's very much like a play, but somehow Olivia Wilde
- 6:24Speaker 4: like directed the hell out of it, which is so
- 6:27Speaker 4: fun because it's really it's kind of great pace to it.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Everybody's good in it. Seth Rogan and Olivia Wilder are
- 6:35Speaker 4: a couple, and then Penelope Cruz and Ed and Orton
- 6:37Speaker 4: are a couple and they're kind of the only ones
- 6:40Speaker 4: in it.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Really, that's it.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a four person movie.
- 6:44Speaker 4: But man, what some like weird marriage dynamic stuff, some
- 6:50Speaker 4: interesting plot points arise. Yes, that's a double entundra and
- 6:55Speaker 4: it's it's really fun. Man. I really had a great
- 6:59Speaker 4: time watching that, and I was I'm really glad we
- 7:02Speaker 4: watched in the theater because everybody in the theater was
- 7:04Speaker 4: also having a ton of.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Fun like we were.
- 7:06Speaker 4: We were gigging away, and you know, it has a
- 7:09Speaker 4: way of like freeing you up to do more of that.
- 7:11Speaker 4: I feel like, you know, sometimes I was definitely laughing
- 7:15Speaker 4: out in the theater. There were several things that are
- 7:17Speaker 4: just killing me, and Seth Rogan was he was killing it.
- 7:20Speaker 4: So yeah, I super loved this movie. Uh, I can't
- 7:25Speaker 4: wait to keep watching everything she directs. I guess I
- 7:27Speaker 4: gotta check out the one I missed, which I guess,
- 7:32Speaker 4: but yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I haven't checked out Don't Wear the Darling, but.
- 7:35Speaker 3: That is uh, that is the worst of the three,
- 7:38Speaker 3: but it's still interesting.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:41Speaker 4: But and particularly I thought Olivia Wilds.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Acting in this was tremendous.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I mean, she was good.
- 7:48Speaker 4: We know she's good, but she was just she played
- 7:51Speaker 4: like crazy and vulnerable and you know, like intense and
- 7:56Speaker 4: all the things. So well, I loved it. So it
- 7:58Speaker 4: was really fun if you get a chance to sitting
- 8:00Speaker 4: in the theater, although it's probably gone by now, but
- 8:03Speaker 4: you know, here we are really a good time.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So I'm here to.
- 8:08Speaker 3: One of my favorite twenty four films in a while, dude,
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yeah right, yeah, yeah, like less it's still weird in
- 8:15Speaker 3: its own way, but less like totally.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Great.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You know, I haven't watched any of their horror ones.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I think one of those Obsession or back Rooms one
- 8:25Speaker 3: of those is Day twenty four. Oh it's got to
- 8:27Speaker 3: be back room back rooms, yeah, because.
- 8:31Speaker 4: I think Obsession was such an under the radar one.
- 8:33Speaker 4: I can't imagine they were, but maybe I don't truly know,
- 8:36Speaker 4: So yeah, that's my guess. But yeah, the invite really fun.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Checking it out.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Check it out.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Have you been streaming anything I did?
- 8:45Speaker 3: I actually finished something this very day. Oh my, yes,
- 8:51Speaker 3: big big shout out to the home Free sound guy
- 8:54Speaker 3: Tommy for the recommendation for a movie called dead Man's Wire,
- 8:59Speaker 3: which is on Netflix currently.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I just heard something about this, Yes, go on.
- 9:06Speaker 3: So it's about a guy played by Bill Scarsguard who
- 9:12Speaker 3: is mad at the bank and felt like they screwed
- 9:14Speaker 3: him over, so he takes the bank manager hostage and
- 9:19Speaker 3: wants the owner of the bank played by Al Pacino
- 9:23Speaker 3: to apologize to him and give him back some money.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But the way he takes some hostage is by securing
- 9:30Speaker 3: a wire around the hostages neck that is then connected
- 9:34Speaker 3: to a shotgun, and then another wire around his neck
- 9:40Speaker 3: connected to the butt end of the shotgun, hence the
- 9:43Speaker 3: dead Man's Wire.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I guess.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Wow, But dude, this apparently was a true story. It
- 9:50Speaker 3: happened in the late seventies. Was something I'd never heard of,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and we got it's directed by Gus Van Sant. We
- 10:01Speaker 3: all noted Goodwie hunting another one kind of has an
- 10:05Speaker 3: indie feel to it, and we got another. You know,
- 10:09Speaker 3: a couple other great actors and Coleman Domingo and Carrie
- 10:13Speaker 3: Elwis is in it, and I swear to you, I
- 10:15Speaker 3: didn't recognize that didn't look anything like carry always and
- 10:20Speaker 3: he's and he's putting on a voice too. I was like, what,
- 10:23Speaker 3: what's Carrie happening?
- 10:25Speaker 1: That?
- 10:27Speaker 3: It is an interesting watch. It's it's worth checking out.
- 10:30Speaker 3: It does look like it came out sometime last year.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I didn't hear about it until this year, but yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 3: pretty crazy. Bill scars Guard is definitely like the main
- 10:42Speaker 3: the main dude, and yeah, pretty uh, pretty flawed, complicated
- 10:47Speaker 3: character that he had to do. And I feel like
- 10:49Speaker 3: I haven't really seen Bill scars Guard do anything except
- 10:53Speaker 3: for like really horrible characters, you know what I mean.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Was a different guy that was the Yeah, and he
- 11:03Speaker 4: was like the John Wick crazy villain. Yeah that's I
- 11:07Speaker 4: forgot about chapter four.
- 11:10Speaker 3: So yeah, it was interesting to actually get to see him.
- 11:12Speaker 4: It's like kind of right right, stressed out human, yes,
- 11:17Speaker 4: but yeah interesting. Oh that's cool.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 11:21Speaker 4: I'll have to check that out.
- 11:22Speaker 3: It's worth checking out. It's not the best movie I've
- 11:24Speaker 3: ever seen, but it's worth checking out. What what have
- 11:28Speaker 3: you been streaming?
- 11:30Speaker 4: Well? On my birthday out on Oh wait did it
- 11:35Speaker 4: go well? Now I'm confused. I thought this just came
- 11:38Speaker 4: out on video, but IMDb is failing me. Maybe I
- 11:42Speaker 4: rented it.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:43Speaker 4: It was my birthday, who knows, disclosure Day. I finally
- 11:45Speaker 4: saw Disclosure Day.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I did see that that was streaming somewhere. Yeah, why
- 11:51Speaker 3: does it not say I'm looking it up on just watching?
- 11:54Speaker 3: But anyway, talking about me.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Weird movie, I did enjoy it for the most part.
- 12:05Speaker 4: It went sort of a different tack than I thought
- 12:07Speaker 4: they were gonna go, which was kind of fun. And
- 12:09Speaker 4: then I was also like, oh, but I wanted to
- 12:11Speaker 4: see kind of like a civil war a little bit
- 12:14Speaker 4: where you know where I was like, oh, this is
- 12:17Speaker 4: really cool. But also I kind of I was you
- 12:21Speaker 4: know this thing yea, yeah, a little bit, but yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 4: some great acting in it, like Emily Blunt was amazing
- 12:30Speaker 4: in it. Josh O'Connor, she's incredible, She's crazy good in it,
- 12:35Speaker 4: and like, yeah, see it was in all the trailers,
- 12:37Speaker 4: so I don't even feel weird. That first scene where
- 12:39Speaker 4: she kind of like loses her ability. Yeah, she does
- 12:43Speaker 4: all the clicking and all that stuff, the horror in
- 12:46Speaker 4: her eyes like in confused. She's she's a tremendous actor
- 12:51Speaker 4: and I love that Eve Houston too. I haven't seen
- 12:55Speaker 4: her in a lot of stuff, but i've seen her
- 12:57Speaker 4: and stuff late.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Did you watch that Bad Sisters?
- 13:00Speaker 2: Oh?
- 13:00Speaker 3: She was a standout. I really like that show, by
- 13:04Speaker 3: the way.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you've recommended it to me before, and I definitely want.
- 13:07Speaker 2: To check it out for sure. But yeah, that's interesting.
- 13:11Speaker 4: I just really liked her. I thought she was a
- 13:13Speaker 4: fun belie.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Do you know Eve Houston who her dad is? I
- 13:18Speaker 3: don't Bono, shut your mouth?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, Okay.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Isn't that crazy?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Wow?
- 13:26Speaker 3: Why I found that out during the disclosure day? Wow,
- 13:31Speaker 3: when they were doing interviews and stuff.
- 13:33Speaker 4: How weird must that be for her? Like yeah, you
- 13:36Speaker 4: know co actors to be like, oh it's Bono Jesus,
- 13:41Speaker 4: you know, like, y, wow, that's crazy.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, his name is His real name is Paul David Houston,
- 13:47Speaker 3: which I didn't know that. But there was one line
- 13:52Speaker 3: in it where it was so irish coming out of
- 13:55Speaker 3: her mouth.
- 13:56Speaker 4: What's the line? Because I remember thinking it was.
- 13:58Speaker 3: When it was it was hit her in Josh Connor
- 14:00Speaker 3: in the like Nunnery or wherever she was the convent
- 14:07Speaker 3: and she said one line and it was like, whoa there.
- 14:11Speaker 4: We missed that one, I guess, or that was the best.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Take her away.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Yeah that is funny. Otherwise I thought she was really great.
- 14:17Speaker 2: That's blowing. She was.
- 14:20Speaker 3: The scene with her and Colin Firth doing and forth
- 14:26Speaker 3: is crazy.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Dude, that was too obviously, Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Weird character. But Spielberg, Man, those kind of scenes kind
- 14:36Speaker 3: of felt like something out of like Minority or something that. Man,
- 14:40Speaker 3: there are a few scenes in this that I know.
- 14:42Speaker 3: It wasn't a perfect movie.
- 14:44Speaker 2: There was.
- 14:44Speaker 3: There was some flaws to it, but man, some of
- 14:47Speaker 3: it I was just like, oh I love that director. Yeah,
- 14:51Speaker 3: for sure, he does the coolest thing.
- 14:52Speaker 2: It was.
- 14:53Speaker 4: It was great and it was super like I didn't
- 14:55Speaker 4: know it was happening for so much of it in
- 14:57Speaker 4: a fun way, you know what. It's just like, what's
- 15:00Speaker 4: going on. We're also going to look back at this
- 15:02Speaker 4: time period and be like Coleman Domingo was in everything
- 15:05Speaker 4: because he was killing he was in the movie. You
- 15:07Speaker 4: just said he was in this one and was pretty
- 15:10Speaker 4: great in this one too, Like I liked him, Yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 4: he's always but yeah, I really liked this movie. It
- 15:17Speaker 4: was like I said, weird, but very enjoyable. So I
- 15:21Speaker 4: don't think it's for everybody by any means, right, Like.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that.
- 15:26Speaker 3: And like I said, it was, it was really fun
- 15:29Speaker 3: in the theater like that was yeah, I buy that
- 15:32Speaker 3: for sure. Like the chase scenes and stuff and.
- 15:35Speaker 4: The action stuff is all really Yeah, the action stuff
- 15:38Speaker 4: was super cool, really good. But yeah, I did enjoy it.
- 15:41Speaker 2: It was fun.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I already asked you, right, so we did him times great, Yes, sir,

- 17:17Speaker 4: We'll see who gets a But we're here today to

- 17:27Speaker 2: Year olds. Yes, yes, exactly.
- 17:29Speaker 4: We're here to talk a little honesty, very small art
- 17:33Speaker 4: house film by a new director that no one's ever
- 17:37Speaker 4: heard of. But we decided we had to get our
- 17:40Speaker 4: guy who because this movie, I mean, we're going.
- 17:43Speaker 2: To talk about it.
- 17:44Speaker 4: This is this guy Oscars written all over it and
- 17:47Speaker 4: so many and this guy, you guys know.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Him, you love him.
- 17:50Speaker 4: He loves the oscars. He's always out there watching everything.
- 17:54Speaker 4: He's hanging out, he's making predictions. He's he's our guy.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Let's welcome him back. It's time to say hello, seg.
- 18:02Speaker 3: What's up, SEGGI, what's up?
- 18:04Speaker 2: Guys?
- 18:05Speaker 3: How are ye?
- 18:06Speaker 2: Well? Finally made it on.
- 18:09Speaker 4: I know it feels like it's been forever.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It has been. I've been the worst. I've had to
- 18:13Speaker 2: bail a few times. And hell, I gave you Luke
- 18:17Speaker 2: Bob one time in my place and that he was
- 18:20Speaker 2: a delight. Yeah, but I've been reading the comments and
- 18:24Speaker 2: they were none too pleased.
- 18:27Speaker 4: I feel like I don't remember a lot of episodes
- 18:30Speaker 4: after we do them, but I remember him saying I
- 18:32Speaker 4: can't believe you guys couldn't get done, and then not
- 18:35Speaker 4: getting Dune and.
- 18:36Speaker 3: That was that. No, we ended up having a good time.
- 18:44Speaker 3: It's fun meeting people for the first time on here.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Had you not met Bob, hadn't met Luba.
- 18:50Speaker 2: It was nice.
- 18:51Speaker 3: He was great.
- 18:52Speaker 2: He's a good one. He's a good one.
- 18:54Speaker 3: We'll have to get you on with Loop Bob too,
- 18:56Speaker 3: and the other guys are.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Great too, Tyler.
- 18:59Speaker 3: That was super fun, but.
- 19:00Speaker 4: It's very competitive that night when we're not not knowing
- 19:03Speaker 4: what to expect.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Really, is Jasper the third one?
- 19:06Speaker 3: Or was it Jasper two?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yes? Jasper awesome too?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah either at that, I was impressed with his movie knowledge.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yep. Well he is team Jason Statham, so he's got
- 19:19Speaker 2: a little bit of inside inside knowledge.
- 19:22Speaker 3: That makes a lot of sense. I like that.
- 19:26Speaker 2: That's good.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Uh, well, we're so happy to have you backpal. We
- 19:29Speaker 4: want to make sure people who know where they can
- 19:31Speaker 4: see you guys, they can go to S and C
- 19:33Speaker 4: music dot com and get tickets because you guys are
- 19:36Speaker 4: doing the making Spirits Bright tour, right, we all into
- 19:39Speaker 4: the holiday season.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That's right. We're going to all the places you are. Man,
- 19:44Speaker 2: you guys are getting it. We look at home free
- 19:47Speaker 2: schedule and we're like, you know what, quadruple that, Let's try.
- 19:51Speaker 2: That's all we want to do pretty much. We've got
- 19:54Speaker 2: nine miles to feed thirteen show touring going to cut.
- 20:00Speaker 2: We need more, that's right. I love that, man. I
- 20:03Speaker 2: would love to get down to use five of you guys, right, yep,
- 20:07Speaker 2: I'd love to get down to five all right, let's
- 20:12Speaker 2: let's pick our five. Who's this is not the draft
- 20:16Speaker 2: keeping Mike and Jerome. You got to keep Mike and Jerome.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Hey, you're really doing it? Stop stop.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I know I'll do it. I'll go all five. I
- 20:24Speaker 2: don't even know if I'll be in the five.
- 20:25Speaker 4: But I would never start that draft if it was
- 20:29Speaker 4: me in there, because I know I get cut.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Well, thank you, first alternate. I'll be a first first alternate.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair.
- 20:35Speaker 4: I'm a good glue guy, so there's I got that
- 20:38Speaker 4: going for me.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I'll just learn how to drive a bus then hang out.
- 20:43Speaker 4: You know you could do that.
- 20:44Speaker 2: They make a lot of money. They really do. Fun fact. Okay,
- 20:50Speaker 2: I'll give you guys some clues as to who our
- 20:52Speaker 2: last bus driver was on our summer tour. Okay, Okay,
- 20:57Speaker 2: he is, Okay, I'll say that his brother is famous, Okay,
- 21:04Speaker 2: musician and his brother's kid is even more famous.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Willie Nelson's brother Lucas Nelson.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Isn't Nelson great track though? Hm?
- 21:20Speaker 4: Hmmm, Dusty Rhodes kid Cody because he's more famous.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Just tell us Billy Ray Cyrus' brother Larry Well, Larry
- 21:34Speaker 2: Ray Cyrus Larry Ray Cyrus is what I called him,
- 21:39Speaker 2: Ray Cyrus. Yeah. It was crazy.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I was like, wild, what are you doing?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Man?
- 21:45Speaker 3: That's inredible.
- 21:46Speaker 2: He drove for Billy Ray for a long time and
- 21:48Speaker 2: he said that Billy Ray never paid him.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 2: He was like, I just I was just happy to
- 21:54Speaker 2: be there.
- 21:54Speaker 4: I was like, I thought I was on the payroll.
- 21:56Speaker 4: It turns out not really.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not great a bit, miss Larry No,
- 22:03Speaker 2: but he's doing great. I think he's like seventy six.
- 22:05Speaker 2: He's good, dude. A lot of hilarious stories.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that those most drivers have some great stories.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah, brick Foot a lot, He's got killer stories. Yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 2: Rick's the man.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, we I mean we've had so many We've
- 22:23Speaker 3: gone through so many different companies and said, yeah, we've
- 22:25Speaker 3: got to meet.
- 22:26Speaker 2: A lot of drivers super loyal.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Not loyal, whoever is willing to come out where it's like,
- 22:32Speaker 3: please help us.
- 22:35Speaker 4: It's just that there's such a nightmare to deal with
- 22:37Speaker 4: that all the drivers.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I could see it. That mad that Tim guy. Man, dude,
- 22:43Speaker 2: that Tim guy. Once he gets.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Going in the seat and talk with.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Me all night.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well Tim keeps breaking the one rule on the
- 22:53Speaker 2: bus and I'm sure the drivers get pretty tired of that.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that gets the only poops on the bus for sure.
- 22:58Speaker 3: He exclusively does it on exclusively.
- 23:01Speaker 4: He had to buy a bus for his home.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Guys, aren't. He heads over to Roberts Brothers hops de
- 23:07Speaker 2: fence finds just tries the same code on every bus.
- 23:15Speaker 4: You know works.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It's really wild.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I love it. Clip it, clip it.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we've really gone on a path here. It's been
- 23:26Speaker 4: a real odyssey.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Hey, okay, I did not see that coming. I love that.
- 23:35Speaker 4: This is gonna be fun. I'm having a nice time already.
- 23:37Speaker 4: H Gods, should we get into it because this might
- 23:40Speaker 4: be this is a long movie. It might be a
- 23:41Speaker 4: long one. Yes, we're here to talk to the Odyssey.
- 23:44Speaker 4: It's from this year. You guys already know about it.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Rob you want to get us started with a rough yes.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is a non linear epic following
- 23:54Speaker 3: war weary King Odysseus trying to return home to his
- 23:58Speaker 3: wife Penelope and sun Telemachus after the Trojan War, battling
- 24:04Speaker 3: mythical creatures while exploring the psychological toll of trauma and violence.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Nice, nice, good, What is short synopsis for that is
- 24:16Speaker 2: the longest that's the same thing.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Okay, great, the longest movie.
- 24:20Speaker 4: An epic poem, literally so epic. None of it rhymes tomatoes?
- 24:26Speaker 4: Oh sorry, what we're saying?
- 24:28Speaker 2: None of it right? None of it rhymed. I like,
- 24:30Speaker 2: I like my poetry to rhyme, saving.
- 24:33Speaker 4: So do I I tried to think of a couple
- 24:36Speaker 4: of I don't have one. Rotten Tomatoes critics have it
- 24:39Speaker 4: coming in at a pretty good ninety four percent.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Pretty good, salid, what is sald?
- 24:46Speaker 2: What's the other six percent? I mean, yeah, what are
- 24:48Speaker 2: they looking for? What do you what did you expect
- 24:51Speaker 2: that you didn't get? Yeah, I don't.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I don't really. Well, I do have an idea. It's
- 24:55Speaker 4: one of my hot takes, so I guess we'll get
- 24:58Speaker 4: to that in a second.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Well.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Audience members, though, have it a ninety seven percent. Oh wow, wow,
- 25:05Speaker 4: kind of think that's too low maybe, but.
- 25:07Speaker 3: I mean that's great.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's as high as rate is it? I believe? So? Yeah? Really? Yeah, incredible,
- 25:15Speaker 2: that's wild. Huh. It's made a couple of dollars too,
- 25:18Speaker 2: which is wild. Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I just I just saw like Hollywood
- 25:24Speaker 4: has spent forty four billion dollars so far. Trying to
- 25:27Speaker 4: get mad. Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 25:32Speaker 2: You know what's crazy about So it's it's gross like
- 25:34Speaker 2: over six hundred and thirty nine million or so. And
- 25:38Speaker 2: it hasn't even opened in China yet. Whoa. And China's
- 25:42Speaker 2: got I think eight hundred theaters and they said they're
- 25:44Speaker 2: going to dedicate eighty percent of all the screens in
- 25:48Speaker 2: all eight hundred theaters to the Odyssey. It's going to
- 25:50Speaker 2: make it just in just in China, just in China,
- 25:53Speaker 2: because there's a lot of people there. I've been told
- 25:55Speaker 2: there are, there are.
- 25:57Speaker 3: We were there last year and you watched Fantastic four
- 26:01Speaker 3: and they don't air condition their theaters.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Oh no, no, so it was very warm. Oh no,
- 26:08Speaker 2: it was not great.
- 26:10Speaker 4: That that's yeah, that would suck.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but anyhow, thinking of that job.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, right, well, let's go in to see what
- 26:20Speaker 4: we think of this film. It's time for.
- 26:26Speaker 2: That's a hot take.
- 26:28Speaker 3: That's a hot take. Oh I burned myself.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Fire, damn it.
- 26:31Speaker 4: I never think of one.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Uh, I don't know. They're in a desert. Just move on.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Wait, the whole this whole city of Troy light's on fire.
- 26:39Speaker 2: It's not fire. We did it?
- 26:40Speaker 4: Okay, great?
- 26:41Speaker 2: Ouch?
- 26:44Speaker 4: I go first on this one. I I liked this
- 26:47Speaker 4: movie a lot from the very first time I saw it.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I've seen it twice now. I was a little I
- 26:53Speaker 4: don't know if under maybe just whelmed. The first time
- 26:56Speaker 4: I saw it, I was like, this was wonderfully made.
- 26:59Speaker 4: It obviously took a ton to make it happen, but
- 27:01Speaker 4: it just I don't know, it just didn't hit me
- 27:04Speaker 4: the first time as hard as maybe something.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I noticed that it felt like you liked it the
- 27:09Speaker 3: more you thought about it or.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Something, and I think that is what happened. I think
- 27:12Speaker 4: it's just so much to take in because the second
- 27:15Speaker 4: time I watched it, I freaking loved it, and I'm
- 27:18Speaker 4: like all in on it now. So I don't know
- 27:21Speaker 4: what was happening with the first one. I've read The
- 27:24Speaker 4: Odyssey before and tried to reread it only got about
- 27:27Speaker 4: halfway through, you know, before this one, So maybe I
- 27:30Speaker 4: was just trying to like, oh, I wonder where they're
- 27:32Speaker 4: going to go, and like was in my head too
- 27:33Speaker 4: much or something. The second time I watched it, I
- 27:36Speaker 4: think it's like a masterpiece. I don't know if it's
- 27:39Speaker 4: my favorite film that he's done, because he's done so many.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Which is crazy.
- 27:44Speaker 4: It's nuts right now what I know, but it's it's
- 27:48Speaker 4: incredibly done. I think one of the things that is
- 27:52Speaker 4: kind of crazy is they did so many of these
- 27:55Speaker 4: shots practically, and you wouldn't really know that unless you,
- 27:59Speaker 4: like were on social media or saw some of the
- 28:01Speaker 4: behind the scenes stuff.
- 28:03Speaker 2: So that's really fun.
- 28:05Speaker 4: And they clearly like tried to make this as hard
- 28:09Speaker 4: as they could to make in a way of like,
- 28:11Speaker 4: let's make it the best we can as well. Right,
- 28:14Speaker 4: I'm sure we'll talk about the score. It's incredible. It's
- 28:17Speaker 4: a super ambitious film to make.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I love it.
- 28:20Speaker 4: I love the way that they took the story of
- 28:23Speaker 4: the Odyssey, like his his lens of it, you know,
- 28:26Speaker 4: the thought of us like losing sight of what makes
- 28:29Speaker 4: us a society in those times as the Greeks, and
- 28:33Speaker 4: then you know, I think he's extrapolating to you know,
- 28:36Speaker 4: all of humankind, right he says that at the end
- 28:39Speaker 4: where he's like and we'll just repeat this again later.
- 28:42Speaker 4: The like I love the imagery of the sea people
- 28:46Speaker 4: being them, the Greeks themselves, like they're worried about themselves,
- 28:51Speaker 4: kind of like the snake eating its own tail, the
- 28:54Speaker 4: way that rumor or media can you know, be used
- 28:57Speaker 4: as a fear mongering tool. I just thought all that
- 29:00Speaker 4: was super fun and super interesting. I really liked his
- 29:04Speaker 4: take on it. I loved some of the nolanisms that
- 29:06Speaker 4: we get in it, like the thrumbing of the bow.
- 29:09Speaker 4: You know, that was like the recurring, so cool, so fun,
- 29:15Speaker 4: and that's such a thing for him, right, it's either
- 29:17Speaker 4: like the book or it's that or you know, he
- 29:20Speaker 4: always has these big, bombastic things and just the huge
- 29:23Speaker 4: epic scenes and the tiny scenes, you know, they're so emotional.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I just thought all that was super super fun. My
- 29:30Speaker 4: first hot take is I heard an interpretation that Zindea
- 29:35Speaker 4: is not actually Athena and that the gods are actually
- 29:39Speaker 4: not present at all in this, which is not a
- 29:41Speaker 4: thing I thought of because they keep saying, right that
- 29:44Speaker 4: the gods show up as regular people and so that's
- 29:47Speaker 4: why we keep Zeus's rule and you know all these things.
- 29:50Speaker 4: I loved the interpretation that he just that he was
- 29:54Speaker 4: the imprint of or she was the imprint of his grief.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Right. That came out on that of like.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Realizing, oh, I've made this thing and I've i've we've
- 30:04Speaker 4: kind of crossed this rubicon now that we can ever
- 30:07Speaker 4: go back from, which is also fun. Nolan is clearly
- 30:10Speaker 4: thinking about these things, also having just made Oppenheimer because
- 30:13Speaker 4: it's a very similar thing, right of like I made.
- 30:16Speaker 2: This thing, and oh no, what have I? You know what?
- 30:19Speaker 4: You know all that stuff, which is super fun. But
- 30:22Speaker 4: I really liked that interpretation. I don't know that it's
- 30:24Speaker 4: one hundred percent true, but it also really ties in
- 30:27Speaker 4: with that. The first thing on the placard is a
- 30:29Speaker 4: time of a parent.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Magic, which I think is really fun and cool.
- 30:34Speaker 4: So yeah, I just thought that was really neat. Maybe
- 30:36Speaker 4: everyone got that. I didn't think about that that way.
- 30:40Speaker 4: But my hottest take that we alluded to earlier, for
- 30:42Speaker 4: all the folks talking about woke casting in a mythology
- 30:46Speaker 4: that is thousands of years old, you sucking your dumb
- 30:50Speaker 4: and you.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Should shut the hill up, because I just felt like,
- 30:53Speaker 2: what are we talking about?
- 30:55Speaker 4: Also, like did they think there were only white people
- 30:58Speaker 4: in Greece at this time? I don't anyway, All that
- 31:01Speaker 4: stuff is dumb, and I do think that's why it's
- 31:03Speaker 4: a couple points lower than maybe it should be.
- 31:05Speaker 2: But yeah, that's why I agree with that.
- 31:08Speaker 4: There's yeah, but it's all just like what are we
- 31:13Speaker 4: talking about? You know, like I don't even understand the arguments,
- 31:16Speaker 4: and I you know whatever, But I just think that's
- 31:18Speaker 4: super dumb.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So yeah, that's my hot toes stick.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Hot take, bro. I agree, it's a masterpiece. This is
- 31:27Speaker 3: Nolan's thirteenth film, and he just keeps killing it. It
- 31:31Speaker 3: is currently number fifty four on IMDb's Top two fifty.
- 31:35Speaker 3: We'll see if he keeps getting higher.
- 31:37Speaker 4: That don't go up, right? Probably is that how I mean?
- 31:40Speaker 3: It usually goes lower over time. But mar people are
- 31:44Speaker 3: going to keep seeing it, and I bet that's just
- 31:45Speaker 3: going to keep you in tense. I've been able to
- 31:48Speaker 3: see it twice in the theater, once in Fargo and once.
- 31:50Speaker 2: By my house.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Both were on a Marcus DLX screen. The closest imax
- 31:56Speaker 3: is in Chicago, so I haven't been able to see
- 31:58Speaker 3: it in the format that Nolan intended, and I really
- 32:02Speaker 3: really want to see it in that. My entire social
- 32:06Speaker 3: media algorithm right now are interviews from the actors and
- 32:09Speaker 3: Nolan on shooting of this film.
- 32:13Speaker 2: It's all I'm getting.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Just the size and scale of this film is insane.
- 32:19Speaker 3: I can appreciate Nolan's confidence in himself and his team
- 32:23Speaker 3: to tackle such an ambitious project.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Why.
- 32:26Speaker 3: These are the kinds of films that are made to
- 32:30Speaker 3: be seen on the big screen. And it's so much fun.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I just love it. The score that Gorenson came up
- 32:37Speaker 3: with is incredible, and I'm sure you've seen on social media.
- 32:41Speaker 3: He used all the ancient musical.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Instruments basically recreate them because they did not exist, which
- 32:48Speaker 2: is crazy. Yeah, I don't even know how you begin
- 32:50Speaker 2: to do that. Yeah, then how do you find someone
- 32:53Speaker 2: to play it properly? Right?
- 32:56Speaker 3: So that is so impressive. I'm sure he'll be getting
- 33:00Speaker 3: another Academy Award for this. This film is going to
- 33:03Speaker 3: be up for everything. It's gonna be I mean, and
- 33:05Speaker 3: it's probably gonna win everything production design, costume, sound design,
- 33:10Speaker 3: in all of the main categories as well, not.
- 33:13Speaker 4: In some way, yeah, especially, it's just.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Going to be up for everything. One of the most
- 33:19Speaker 3: stacked casts I've ever seen. The story is incredible. It's
- 33:24Speaker 3: three thousand years old, and it's so nuts that Nolan
- 33:27Speaker 3: has the confidence in himself to change things to a
- 33:30Speaker 3: story so many people know, and it all felt like
- 33:34Speaker 3: it worked to me, Like the whole Cyclops bit, how
- 33:37Speaker 3: he changed that where it's not him saying nobody and
- 33:42Speaker 3: all that. I feel like a lot of people were
- 33:44Speaker 3: upset that it wasn't what they have known it to
- 33:48Speaker 3: always be. But like, looking back on it, I can't
- 33:52Speaker 3: even really picture that in this movie. It feels like
- 33:55Speaker 3: a different person like Odysseus wouldn't do that, at least
- 34:00Speaker 3: in Odysseus. So yeah, I just felt like it worked.
- 34:04Speaker 3: It's the fastest three hour movie I've ever seen. I
- 34:07Speaker 3: never felt like it lags real. There's always something going on,
- 34:12Speaker 3: there's no fat to trim. I always love the pacing
- 34:15Speaker 3: of his films. But just like you go in knowing
- 34:18Speaker 3: it's three hours and be like, oh I got to
- 34:20Speaker 3: sit through this, but it's You're just like on the
- 34:23Speaker 3: edge of your seat the whole time. There's nobody ever,
- 34:25Speaker 3: just like looking out at a window, just like thinking
- 34:28Speaker 3: about things like it's just constantly, which I love. I say, windows,
- 34:34Speaker 3: there's no windows windows movie.
- 34:38Speaker 4: You're either out inside that's it, otherwise.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Pondering, you know.
- 34:48Speaker 3: But yes, I have a couple of hot takes. Hot
- 34:50Speaker 3: take one, Matt Damon is going to get his first
- 34:54Speaker 3: best actor Oscar.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this is his best performance.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Same, it's great and he's been in just so many
- 35:03Speaker 3: amazing movies, and yeah, I think he's going to get it.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Another hot take, and I texted both of you about this.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I will share my response.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Yeah. I was like, it's not very believable that Odysseus
- 35:22Speaker 3: isn't going to stay with Calypso if it's Charlie's there
- 35:26Speaker 3: and there and it'd be like, hey man, we're in Paradise,
- 35:30Speaker 3: we're eating fish, we're hanging out. It's me and you,
- 35:33Speaker 3: I think I think i'd be pretty good.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I am definitely allergic to fish, and I'm still staying
- 35:40Speaker 4: I'm goodlower to go to.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Yes, keep giving me that lotus flower.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I told Rob. I was like, yeah, tell your wife
- 35:49Speaker 2: that tell you what.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Don't don't.
- 35:53Speaker 2: I'll see that.
- 35:53Speaker 4: No, that's a great hot take.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Though. I really like about a lot good stuff.
- 36:00Speaker 3: That's pretty good, Saggy. I want to hear your thoughts, buddy.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Yeah, all right. So I just had come off the
- 36:09Speaker 2: summer tour and then I spent a week in Myrtle
- 36:11Speaker 2: Beach for my daughter's dance nationals. And we got home Friday,
- 36:17Speaker 2: probably around like five pm, had dinner, put the kids down,
- 36:22Speaker 2: and I picked up my phone and I was like,
- 36:24Speaker 2: I'm going to see Just by chance if there's a
- 36:27Speaker 2: ticket for the IMAX showing tonight. And there was, and
- 36:32Speaker 2: I think I think I got the last seat in
- 36:35Speaker 2: the entire theater, not in the back. I was like
- 36:37Speaker 2: kind of in the middle on the side. It was great,
- 36:40Speaker 2: and I told my wife. I was like, I'm going
- 36:41Speaker 2: to go see this movie. It's at ten fifteen and
- 36:46Speaker 2: it's three hours.
- 36:47Speaker 4: Long, so tomorrow, Yeah, I got I got.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Home at like two thirty or something like that. But yeah, dude,
- 36:54Speaker 2: like you said, the fastest three hour movie ever. I think,
- 36:58Speaker 2: like it's rare for me not to finish my popcorn.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I didn't finish my popcorn. Like that's how fast the
- 37:05Speaker 2: movie flew by.
- 37:08Speaker 4: It was.
- 37:08Speaker 2: It was really funny. In the theater. The guy to
- 37:10Speaker 2: my left when I walked up, he had like a
- 37:14Speaker 2: full pizza box that had like chicken tenders, Nacho's, just
- 37:19Speaker 2: like full sampler player or whatever. I think he had
- 37:23Speaker 2: been partaking in some you know, not beverages. Some of
- 37:27Speaker 2: the it's legal here, so yes, he's fine, and he
- 37:33Speaker 2: proceeded to just scroll on his phone the entire movie.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I did you talk to him? I was just I
- 37:42Speaker 2: just saw him, and I think he was just so
- 37:46Speaker 2: blown out that he couldn't. He was like, this is too.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Much, like I get.
- 37:51Speaker 2: It's also it's also a very loud movie, so I
- 37:54Speaker 2: imagine this guy was just having a having a heck
- 37:58Speaker 2: of a time trying to folks on anything. And then
- 38:01Speaker 2: my one qualm with.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Nolan movies, they're also a lot yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 2: So good though. I love it. The louder the better.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And then the kids to my right, kids they're probably
- 38:11Speaker 2: you know, eighteen years old. Yeah. At one point, the
- 38:14Speaker 2: one kid next to me leaned over to his boys
- 38:16Speaker 2: is like, man, I can't believe all this happened in
- 38:19Speaker 2: real life, and I was just like, yeah, man, yeah, man, that's.
- 38:24Speaker 4: About the collapse of society. So I guess we're seeing
- 38:26Speaker 4: it and read right.
- 38:29Speaker 2: But I agree. I think it's gonna win a lot
- 38:32Speaker 2: of awards, rightfully, So I think this is an absolute masterpiece.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Nolan is kind of following the Hitchcock footprint of the
- 38:42Speaker 2: movies he's taken on, and you know, a lot of
- 38:46Speaker 2: a lot of cinephiles think that horror might be next,
- 38:50Speaker 2: because that's kind of the genre lineage that Hitchcock took,
- 38:57Speaker 2: which would be epic. I mean, I can't couldn't even
- 38:59Speaker 2: imagine a Nolan horror film.
- 39:01Speaker 3: You know it'd be dude. Well, that Circe scene is
- 39:03Speaker 3: pretty much Yeah.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I'd love them. I'd love them to see him
- 39:09Speaker 2: do a comedy. I think that'd be so good. But yeah, dude,
- 39:13Speaker 2: Master movie flies by. I think everybody should see this
- 39:17Speaker 2: in the theater. You know, there's so many movies I
- 39:22Speaker 2: I just love going to the theater. I think the
- 39:23Speaker 2: theater makes every movie better, just the whole communal aspect
- 39:28Speaker 2: and everything. It's I think it just makes everything better.
- 39:30Speaker 2: But everything.
- 39:33Speaker 3: And ye, but there are.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Movies that come along where it's like, Okay, you have
- 39:41Speaker 2: to see this in the theater. Yeah, if you could
- 39:43Speaker 2: get to the seventy millimeter Imax, like that's great, But
- 39:47Speaker 2: even then, like, just see it in any format you
- 39:49Speaker 2: possibly can in a theater. It'll blow your mind. And
- 39:53Speaker 2: I have a couple of hot takes. My first hot
- 39:57Speaker 2: take is that I think all of the at online
- 40:01Speaker 2: discourse leading up to the film, I think a lot
- 40:05Speaker 2: of that was manufactured and I think it was done.
- 40:09Speaker 2: I think it was done on purpose, and I think
- 40:11Speaker 2: it helped the movie because then you had people being like,
- 40:14Speaker 2: all right, well I'm gonna go see what this is
- 40:16Speaker 2: all about and whatever. And then my next hot take
- 40:21Speaker 2: is that I wanted it to be longer. I left
- 40:27Speaker 2: and I was like, I want more of whatever whatever
- 40:31Speaker 2: I just experienced. I want more of this, Like I
- 40:34Speaker 2: need Odyssey Part two, you know what I mean? Like this,
- 40:37Speaker 2: I was like, I wonder if it's any post credit scenes,
- 40:43Speaker 2: but yeah, I left, and I was like, I could
- 40:46Speaker 2: watch like two three more hours of this, you know
- 40:49Speaker 2: what I mean, Like it's I love when Nolan takes
- 40:54Speaker 2: these characters that go through this experience, like you know,
- 40:58Speaker 2: I think it starts with Oppenheim or where he creates
- 41:03Speaker 2: the bomb, right, and then once it's used, the guy
- 41:08Speaker 2: is just forever tormented. And the same thing happens here,
- 41:12Speaker 2: like he comes up with the Trojan horse, breaks Zeus
- 41:16Speaker 2: his rule, and he's forever tormented over it, you know
- 41:20Speaker 2: what I mean. Like that's something he's going to carry forever,
- 41:23Speaker 2: even into exile. Like it's you know, it seems like
- 41:26Speaker 2: a happy ending, but it's not. It's a it's a
- 41:28Speaker 2: full on tragedy. What happens to him. It's like, yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 2: he gets to reunite with his wife, but at what cost.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Right now he's exiled. Now he doesn't get his son.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Now he doesn't get his kingdom and all the things
- 41:40Speaker 2: that come with.
- 41:40Speaker 3: It, and he doesn't get Calypso.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And he doesn't get Calypso. I mean, I mean, he
- 41:46Speaker 2: could go check out the island every once.
- 41:48Speaker 4: In a while, you know what I mean, less fun.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Maybe maybe he gets a carrier pigeon with a note
- 41:55Speaker 2: that just says, like you you up. You know, you
- 41:57Speaker 2: never know.
- 42:01Speaker 4: One of those dolphins. That's what they're trying to do.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but all like the all the backlash are the casting.
- 42:08Speaker 2: It always makes me laugh when there's backlash for for
- 42:12Speaker 2: casting when they're like little mermaids Asian, what the heck?
- 42:16Speaker 2: It's like, guys, it's a mermaids aid. It's a thing
- 42:20Speaker 2: that doesn't it could be anything. It could be this,
- 42:23Speaker 2: like it's literally not a thing that exists in real life,
- 42:26Speaker 2: Like it could be anything. And have we learned nothing
- 42:29Speaker 2: from Hamilton? One of the greatest pieces of art ever created.
- 42:35Speaker 2: And it's like, yeah, George Washington wasn't black, but you
- 42:38Speaker 2: know what, this black dude just absolutely murdered this role.
- 42:42Speaker 2: And the show is it's incredible, Like, who cares, it's
- 42:47Speaker 2: we're all pretending. Everyone on the screen is pretending to
- 42:51Speaker 2: be something. Why does it need It doesn't need to
- 42:53Speaker 2: be anything. It could be. It could be anything. I
- 42:56Speaker 2: don't know. Stuff like that always annoys me. It's so dumb,
- 43:01Speaker 2: But I think it helped, and I think it's gonna
- 43:02Speaker 2: help get this movie well over a billion. And I
- 43:06Speaker 2: know they say the budget was two fifty but there's
- 43:09Speaker 2: no way that it only cost tw hundred and fifty
- 43:12Speaker 2: million to make that note eight.
- 43:13Speaker 4: That seems just sad. Times I'm like, yeah, why did
- 43:18Speaker 4: it take that much money for this movie?
- 43:19Speaker 2: And then it's like, but the Odyssey is the opposite, right, Yeah.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I mean it's still a ton of money. But when
- 43:25Speaker 3: you see that there's like a thousand extras and it's
- 43:29Speaker 3: not cgi extras, it's actually they went and got costumes
- 43:33Speaker 3: and did make up for a thousand people. It's just like,
- 43:37Speaker 3: how much it's going to be two hundred.
- 43:38Speaker 2: And fifty million? Yeah? How much was the R and
- 43:40Speaker 2: D no to crazy create these instruments that have never existed, well,
- 43:46Speaker 2: not never, but haven't existed for thousands of years. Like,
- 43:51Speaker 2: come on, man, there's no way it was two fifty.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I think cameras, right, because the Imax cameras were new
- 43:58Speaker 4: and fancier and crazy too.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I think two fifty half a million's the camera.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think they probably spent closer to five
- 44:08Speaker 2: hundred all in wild.
- 44:11Speaker 3: They're still gonna make some money.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're gonna they're gonna do just fine.
- 44:14Speaker 3: They're gonna do They're gonna do.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Okay, they're gonna do just fun.
- 44:16Speaker 4: They'll let him make at least one more but fun.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Fact, do you know who the highest grossing actor is
- 44:23Speaker 2: of twenty twenty six?
- 44:26Speaker 4: Mm, I'm gonna say Coleman Domingo, only because he's been in.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Every single and everything. I would counter that with saying
- 44:34Speaker 2: he's not in enough. He's so yeah, I agreed, he agreed.
- 44:38Speaker 2: He's always awesome.
- 44:40Speaker 3: Tom Holland's having a big year because he'll have this
- 44:42Speaker 3: and Spider Man.
- 44:43Speaker 4: He Man halfaway because doesn't she have five movies?
- 44:47Speaker 2: Oh but they're not allowed. Maybe by the end of
- 44:50Speaker 2: the year it might be Holland because Spider Spider Man
- 44:52Speaker 2: they're saying is gonna make him around eight hundred opening weekend,
- 44:55Speaker 2: which is wild. It is someone from this film?
- 44:58Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, Anne Hathaways, I guess.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I think that would have been mine too. Uh, I
- 45:10Speaker 4: don't know.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Well that is incorrect. It is Benny Saftie because he
- 45:16Speaker 2: voiced someone in the Mario movie. Isn't that crazy? Really? Yeah?
- 45:24Speaker 2: Who was he? Again? I even watched it.
- 45:26Speaker 3: I forgot No, no, no.
- 45:29Speaker 4: He's like super Mary.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Do not see that scene Mario?
- 45:36Speaker 3: I I mean it could have been anybody being am
- 45:38Speaker 3: I barely saw his face.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Well they only show once at the end, right, Yeah,
- 45:42Speaker 2: I was. I was kind of waiting for that reveal.
- 45:44Speaker 2: I was like, all right, who's this going to be?
- 45:46Speaker 2: Because I have like a new rule now, I don't
- 45:48Speaker 2: watch any trailers. I don't know.
- 45:51Speaker 3: I'm with you.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I don't look at anything, no articles and tweets, no
- 45:55Speaker 2: Instagram videos. I want to go in completely blind. So
- 45:59Speaker 2: I had no idea who it was. And when they
- 46:02Speaker 2: showed him, I was like, oh, okay, okay, that makes sense.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But I was like, this is gonna be somebody like right,
- 46:09Speaker 2: I was hoping like Will Ferrell or something hilarious. Vince Vaughn.
- 46:15Speaker 3: It's glorious. That's great. Hot takes, bro act love it. Well,
- 46:24Speaker 3: why don't we go Let's keep moving on and let's
- 46:26Speaker 3: go to our favorite acting performance, and let's choose the
- 46:30Speaker 3: dude the dude.
- 46:33Speaker 5: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 46:35Speaker 5: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know
- 46:41Speaker 5: el dud reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 46:44Speaker 4: Seggie, who you got for the dude?
- 46:48Speaker 2: I mean, there's the obvious choice. It feels pretty obvious. Yeah,
- 46:51Speaker 2: of Matt Damon, but I'm not going to choose Matt Damon, oh,
- 46:54Speaker 2: just because I know Rob is definitely take. But one
- 47:00Speaker 2: of the first thoughts I had after seeing this movie
- 47:03Speaker 2: was about a different movie, and I was like, I
- 47:08Speaker 2: need a remake of this movie with this person playing
- 47:11Speaker 2: this role.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Oh, you want a new Troy? What's that movie called? Okay,
- 47:19Speaker 4: why don't you tell us?
- 47:20Speaker 2: I'll show up Robert Pattinson. Yes, I first of all
- 47:26Speaker 2: was I was angry at Nolan for making me hate
- 47:28Speaker 2: him so much, because I love that. I need to
- 47:32Speaker 2: I need to see Robert Pattinson play comedists and Gladiator
- 47:37Speaker 2: who was walking Phoenix was that was like a more performance.
- 47:43Speaker 2: After seeing Pattinson in this smarmy, Hateable role, I was like,
- 47:47Speaker 2: I gotta see him as Commedist because it was like
- 47:51Speaker 2: so many similarities, you know what I mean. Just I
- 47:53Speaker 2: was like, I need to see it. So I'm gonna
- 47:55Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Robert Pattinson on this. I like that.
- 47:57Speaker 2: That's character. Such a wiener in this.
- 48:00Speaker 3: I know when I was when I was trying to
- 48:01Speaker 3: come up with a top five draft, I wanted to
- 48:03Speaker 3: be I didn't know how to word what Robert Pattinson
- 48:06Speaker 3: was in this movie because he's like hate Able, but
- 48:09Speaker 3: he's also just yeah, such a wiener. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 48:16Speaker 3: just off on the side, just like give the sword,
- 48:23Speaker 3: just like somebody.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Themes of that have been It's amazing.
- 48:31Speaker 3: I love that. Yeah, he is incredible. Dude, have you
- 48:34Speaker 3: seen the Devil all the time? By the way, it
- 48:38Speaker 3: was him and I felt like nobody heard about this movie.
- 48:40Speaker 3: But Tom Holland is the main guy, and Robert Pattinson
- 48:45Speaker 3: plays this Preacher, this awful Preacher, has this crazy Southern accent,
- 48:53Speaker 3: totally changes his voice. He is insane in that movie.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Yes, I haven't seen that.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, he can. Just his range is so
- 49:04Speaker 3: it's insane impressive, dude.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I never saw any of the Twilight stuff, so.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I saw the second one.
- 49:12Speaker 2: I didn't know how weird from that stuff?
- 49:15Speaker 3: You remember, I got it up and then yes, Midnight showing,
- 49:20Speaker 3: I didn't know what was happening. I regretted it, like
- 49:24Speaker 3: after the previews pretty.
- 49:25Speaker 4: Much people are all very pale but glittery somehow, I don't.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Know what's happening is show.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Well, that is a great pick. I'm going to take
- 49:38Speaker 3: the Low Hanging Fruit and take Matt Damon is Odysseus.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Like we said, it might be the best he's ever done.
- 49:45Speaker 3: What are you gonna say, Bukes, what's up?
- 49:48Speaker 4: I just I was gonna make a He's not that
- 49:50Speaker 4: old low hanging fruit joke because I'm twelve. Okay, I'm sorry.
- 49:55Speaker 2: I like it.
- 49:59Speaker 3: He just had to do everything in this movie. He
- 50:01Speaker 3: even had to grow a beard, and he grew pretty
- 50:05Speaker 3: pretty great beard.
- 50:06Speaker 2: Actually, that was the only cgi in the whole film
- 50:09Speaker 2: that was it wouldn't it be funny that we spent
- 50:11Speaker 2: two dred million just on this beard?
- 50:14Speaker 4: Painstaking?
- 50:16Speaker 3: But I mean, what can you say about his performance?
- 50:19Speaker 3: He just had to do it. All we got. We
- 50:22Speaker 3: got some of the old school Jason Bourne stuff in there,
- 50:24Speaker 3: just kicking the ass. That scene with all the suitors
- 50:29Speaker 3: is just nuts. Yeah. And he also had to like
- 50:36Speaker 3: act like he really wanted to leave Shirley's there on,
- 50:39Speaker 3: which is nuts. Again, it's crazy, and I believed him.
- 50:45Speaker 3: I was just like, what, that's good acting.
- 50:49Speaker 4: It was Anne Hathaway that he's going back to, so
- 50:51Speaker 4: that doesn't hurt.
- 50:52Speaker 3: It's nutice nothing against anyone else.
- 50:55Speaker 2: I know she's going to be so pissed when she
- 50:58Speaker 2: sees this.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Already met, we're texting.
- 51:02Speaker 3: She's wonderful. Yeah, he's great. I also picked him.
- 51:06Speaker 4: He's also ripped up in this movie, like dude, because
- 51:09Speaker 4: he's got to be what fifty or something at least
- 51:12Speaker 4: or at least fifties is I really loved him in this.
- 51:17Speaker 4: I agree. I think he's gonna win. Even if there's
- 51:20Speaker 4: like a little tinge of it's a you know, like
- 51:24Speaker 4: a this is about all of your history, you know,
- 51:27Speaker 4: it's a legacy award a little bit.
- 51:28Speaker 2: Maybe he's still fifty five, use that old that's crazy.
- 51:35Speaker 4: I mean, he is ripped in this movie. But yeah,
- 51:38Speaker 4: he's wonderful. You believe everything about him. He's like smart
- 51:42Speaker 4: and a great warrior and super troubled and you know
- 51:46Speaker 4: all the things and like his we'll talk about the
- 51:49Speaker 4: scene and the line, but when he's hearing the sirens
- 51:52Speaker 4: call and talking about what.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Is just god like? Yeah, I love the Friends or
- 52:04Speaker 2: Steve Crow and Holly for sure.
- 52:10Speaker 4: I picked him too. Should we talk about some of
- 52:12Speaker 4: the other nine thousand people that are.
- 52:13Speaker 2: In this so many people? Yes?
- 52:15Speaker 3: Absolutely, Let's choose the Tucci Award Tucchi.
- 52:19Speaker 4: All right, Seggie, who we got for the tuch I'm.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Gonna go with a guy who is peak himself in
- 52:27Speaker 2: this film. He has a style and he sticks to
- 52:33Speaker 2: it and just about everything he does. But he was
- 52:36Speaker 2: himself on steroids, John Burnhal. Dude, Yes, he went peak
- 52:42Speaker 2: Bernhal in this movie.
- 52:43Speaker 3: It's great Menelaus.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Love watching him act. He's so good.
- 52:50Speaker 3: I was waiting for him to say, let me tell
- 52:51Speaker 3: you something. Have you seen that He's apparently says let
- 52:58Speaker 3: me tell you something in every single.
- 53:00Speaker 2: That's pretty awesome. Yeah, but he was. He was great.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I thought he was another guy who is like tortured
- 53:08Speaker 2: yet celebrated and just the parting wisdom he had for
- 53:14Speaker 2: for Tom Hollands's character was was great. Love that.
- 53:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he's always awesome. I went with somebody who was
- 53:25Speaker 3: not like himself usually. Ever, I was really impressed with
- 53:31Speaker 3: John Luizamo as Eumaeus.
- 53:34Speaker 4: I think he's gonna win an Oscar for this part.
- 53:36Speaker 4: He's amazing.
- 53:37Speaker 2: He'll be up for sure.
- 53:38Speaker 3: He's crazy good in this movie. I loved him, like
- 53:42Speaker 3: maybe the most loyal character I've ever seen, and he
- 53:48Speaker 3: just like feel for him the whole time. Yeah, he
- 53:52Speaker 3: he breaks down a few times. He's Uh, he's really
- 53:57Speaker 3: good in this movie.
- 53:58Speaker 4: I would him growing puppies over a cliff.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a really good point this one.
- 54:07Speaker 2: You like what no, no, no, also no c g
- 54:13Speaker 2: I no one actually puppies. Oh no. But he wasn't
- 54:20Speaker 2: the most loyal character in the movie. There was actually
- 54:23Speaker 2: one more loyal character.
- 54:26Speaker 4: Yeah, you get a to like, yes, a puppy. That's
- 54:30Speaker 4: a great idea.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Yea.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I guess he is great and that is a great
- 54:38Speaker 4: through line. Everybody loves a puppy.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Uh.
- 54:43Speaker 4: Those are both great picks, and I probably would have
- 54:46Speaker 4: picked both of them, although I think I might have
- 54:49Speaker 4: picked Anne Hathaway first. She is tremendous in this movie.
- 54:55Speaker 4: She gets her like uh, which is weird for me
- 54:58Speaker 4: to say. It's like I was a win and studies major.
- 55:01Speaker 4: Her little feminist speech that she gives felt a little
- 55:04Speaker 4: forced to me. If I'm completely it is true, but
- 55:08Speaker 4: I just thought that was like, I don't know that
- 55:12Speaker 4: one didn't hit perfectly for me. But she's an incredible
- 55:15Speaker 4: actor and I love her in this and she has
- 55:18Speaker 4: like I was just looking at her filmography the other
- 55:21Speaker 4: day randomly, and boy, she's got quite the career behind
- 55:25Speaker 4: her at this point. Like she's incredible.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Yeah, just in this this year, she's going to be
- 55:32Speaker 3: in so many things.
- 55:33Speaker 4: So nuts. But yeah, I really loved her portrayal in this.
- 55:37Speaker 2: I thought it was really great.
- 55:39Speaker 4: She has like a little bit more disdain for her
- 55:41Speaker 4: son than in you know, some of the book interpretations,
- 55:44Speaker 4: which I think is good. And actually, speaking of the Sun,
- 55:48Speaker 4: I thought Tom Holland that character is also a wiener
- 55:52Speaker 4: and a half, so like she's kind of hard to
- 55:55Speaker 4: kill it, but that I don't know that anyone can
- 55:59Speaker 4: get the tears welling up in the eyes and more
- 56:02Speaker 4: effectively than him, because he is incredible at that.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Yeah, when Menelaus is talking with him at that dinner
- 56:09Speaker 3: and he's explaining what happened at Troy and then you
- 56:12Speaker 3: look back at him.
- 56:12Speaker 2: And he's just like crying or Argust.
- 56:15Speaker 4: He's great when Odysseus comes back and Ugust does die,
- 56:20Speaker 4: you know, and like and he knows when he realizes.
- 56:22Speaker 4: That's like, yeah, dude, incredible.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Did you see he was my runner up? Did you
- 56:28Speaker 2: see the interview where they were talking about his age
- 56:31Speaker 2: of the movie, Tom Holland was They were like, how
- 56:34Speaker 2: old do you think your character was? Like, I don't know,
- 56:36Speaker 2: I think he was like sixteen. Matt Damon's like, I
- 56:40Speaker 2: was gone for twenty years. Yeah, and he's like, I
- 56:46Speaker 2: played him like sixteen. You probably read the script. Maybe
- 56:52Speaker 2: we don't admit that. I don't know. Tom, let's get
- 56:55Speaker 2: this off the internet. But yeah, they that's pretty great.
- 57:00Speaker 2: That's incredible that I did not see that. One.
- 57:05Speaker 3: Another person I was super impressed with was Jimesh Patel.
- 57:12Speaker 2: He was great.
- 57:12Speaker 3: Eurie Locus is how you say his name? I don't
- 57:15Speaker 3: remember Urylicus maybe.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Probably that's probably right. He was great.
- 57:21Speaker 4: He had a huge part in this.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Good for him, Yeah, I mean he was like the
- 57:25Speaker 2: right hand man, right so he was. I liked I
- 57:29Speaker 2: liked how because he was in a tough spot, right,
- 57:34Speaker 2: he was like, I got to protect my men, but
- 57:36Speaker 2: I also got to listen to my general.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Yeah, like this is the guy that won us the war.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Like a certain point he's like, no, man, you gotta
- 57:44Speaker 2: stay we voted, You're staying with the But like love,
- 57:48Speaker 2: I just love how Nolan, just how he captures the
- 57:53Speaker 2: conflicted man so well. Yeah, and like he's able to
- 57:58Speaker 2: just the character arc is just good man, It's like that.
- 58:01Speaker 2: But that guy was great. He was great.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Well and then he, you know, Matt Damon catches
- 58:08Speaker 3: him and the rest of the guys eating the cattle. Yeah,
- 58:12Speaker 3: and just like his reaction to that just feel like
- 58:14Speaker 3: what do you expect us to do? Like we're starving
- 58:16Speaker 3: and just him and then having to see them on
- 58:20Speaker 3: the boat afterwards, and just yeah, he was. He was
- 58:23Speaker 3: awesome And I felt like he was one of the
- 58:27Speaker 3: bigger roles in that film.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it really was. He was. Have you seen
- 58:33Speaker 2: have you seen the meme that was like Odysseus to
- 58:37Speaker 2: his crew man, this crazy odyssey were all on and
- 58:40Speaker 2: they're all like, what's an odyssey? It's like oh, it's
- 58:42Speaker 2: a long journey with one survivor and they're like, wait what.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Wait what, hold on, it's weird. It's really close to
- 58:50Speaker 4: your Oh no.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Oh no, that's funny.
- 58:56Speaker 4: Elliott Page was super good in this. I thought, great
- 58:59Speaker 4: to see him. That's super fun. I thought, yeah, that
- 59:03Speaker 4: was crazy.
- 59:03Speaker 2: That not a huge role, but played it, played it fine.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Yeah, but that scene in hades, that was pretty That's what.
- 59:13Speaker 2: Comes out of the Yeah. Yeah, crazy, Yeah, give his
- 59:20Speaker 2: shame back. He's like, oh damn, yeah.
- 59:25Speaker 4: What was uh?
- 59:26Speaker 2: What's b tier?
- 59:29Speaker 3: Ryan Hurst as a mentor, Yeah, yeah.
- 59:34Speaker 4: It's crazy that. I love him, but it's such a
- 59:38Speaker 4: small part.
- 59:40Speaker 3: But dude still still a recognizable person. It's just there's
- 59:43Speaker 3: so many people in this crazy we don't need to
- 59:47Speaker 3: go through all of them. But Zenda was perfect and
- 59:49Speaker 3: everything she did sure at least their own. I've mentioned
- 59:53Speaker 3: her a couple of times, but she was pretty good.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Lapita Neango you get a best actress and she has
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: maybe two minutes of screen time in.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: This man Yeah crushes.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: That makeup they did for Lupido was wild. Yeah, like
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: on her arm and her face, on her face.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Samantha Morton and Circe was terrifying.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Yeah, she was great. It was one of my favorite
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: scenes of the film, especially after the fact learning about
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: the scene was so nuts wild.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: I'm gonna need to watch like every behind the scenes
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: like extra they have.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Absolutely there was no cg in that scene. That's so nuts,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: that's crazy. Or the Island of Giants, there were no.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Right, how do youtive stuff? Got a bunch of huge
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: people and a bunch of tiny people.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like generally actors are you know, five
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: foot something right right? You put him next to a
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: foot guy in full armor, they're gonna you know, we
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: all saw the NBA playoffs and we saw Wenby next
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: to Jalen Brunson, so yeah, like that.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and Jalen Brunson's like six or four or something crazy.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Probably no, he's short.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: But then you still have me a goth who is
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: like huge right now, And that was a very small role,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: we said, Benny Saftie. And then you had Travis Scott
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: as the Bard, which I like that pretty pretty great idea. Yeah,
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I like that to have a rapper in that role.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and probably pretty similar.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: To what it was, right because it was like a yeah,
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: they call him songs, but it really was like a
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: spoken word poem kind of thing.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, yeah, you hear that. Nolan calls him
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: and he's like, hey, I want you to be in
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: my film, and Travis Scott was like, you know, I
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: make music, right. He's like, yeah, I know who you are.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I'm calling you specifically, I am Christopher Nolan. You don't
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: say no to me.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: So he's like, I wasn't gonna. I just I didn't
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: want you to be upset. Later realized that is wild.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: I saw a thing that said that the people that
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: would tell those stories were called rhapsodes.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: Are h A AP S O D.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: And that's where you get the term rapper from, like
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: can one who stitches songs together? Yes, you got it.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: That's cool. Yeah. I didn't see the film, so you.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Were looking at that guy's social.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Watching with his girlfriend. He was on his own odyssey.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: But I think that's everybody. Yeah, Dan, Yeah, big shout
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: out to Arugus. We love Argus such a great part
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: of them. It's part of the movie. Come up in
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: the draft, he might, Well, then, let's uh, this is
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: going to be a long one here. Let's go to
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: our favorite scene and let's choose the Dingus the Dingus.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: So this is quite simple, really, Dingus Dingus.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: I could talk about my dingas.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: All night long.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: ZIGGI, what do you have for your favorite scene?
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Good luck? M hm. The Seers scene is up there
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: for me. It's so good. But I think his return,
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: the battle he has against all the suitors, yes, man,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: there's so many I mean cyclops, like getting through.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: That cave incredible, and the fact that that was just
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: a giant puppet is just blows my mind nuts.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I mean, the battle in Troy, all of it is
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: so I mean the scene where they're all the dead
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: are coming up, man, it's I'm gonna I'm gonna just
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: go with the battle at the end, yeah, because I
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: think that's when you see everybody's true colors, right, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: just that moment where he you know, flicks the bow
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: like he always does, and that's when Anne Hathaway was like,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: my dude is back. Yeah, you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: that scene was just so well done, and like his
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: son is again like such a try hard but just
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: cannot do anything. You know. He goes into the weapons
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: room and he's trying to stop that guy and he's
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: like one guy, he's not doing anything and Pattinson's true
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: colors come out and he's just like he's just like
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: this little, you know, female dog in the corner there
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: trying to direct traffic while everyone's dying and he's just
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: trying to stay alive. Yeah, I'm gonna go with that scene.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: But I love that's.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: A killer scene.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: One thing I did love was in the scene so
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: Pattinson like immediately backs up right when starts stuff starts
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: happening and does get the shields. Look, we said in
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: the scene where they're hunting the boar and pat he's
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: there and like is trying to give him this thing,
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: and it's referenced a couple of times when the boar
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: charges them, he also does the same thing. And I
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: didn't notice that until.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: The second watch. That was cool.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: That's cool that they had that.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: The whole way.
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kind of fun that that's always been him, you.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: Know, And that was a great lookalike actor too.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Yeah for real, Yeah, that was really good.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that is definitely way up there for me. I
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: think I think my favorite scene is the Trojan Horse
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: into the sacking of Troy.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: So cool, just.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Them getting out of that horse having to be silent
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: and get those henchmen pretty much. But just that music
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: is just like slowly building.
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: At that drops and you see all the soldiers.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: You see all the dudes on the other side of
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: the wall.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: The door just taking forever to open up. You're just
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: waiting for that door, and more and more dudes are
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: coming in, and then it finally comes open and you
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: see Agamemnon just like dude, full dark and.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: They are all just and none of the actor remon,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: none of the actors inside the walls had any idea
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: that Agamemnon was standing there with It was like, what
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: is it? Seven hundred extras. Yeah, they had no idea.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: They thought they were just filming a scene where they
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: opened this gate. Damon talks about it in it in
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: an interview. It's wild, that's cod First of all, how
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: do you not hear him just seven hundred people on
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: the other side of a wall, like, yeah, you know
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: what I mean, Like just coughs. I was randomly listening.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: I was listening to some classical music in the car
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: the other day, and I started noticing that I was
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: hearing the coughs of the audience. And then that's all
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: I could hear. There's so many people coughing. It was like,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: oh my god, it's so loud. So then I was like,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: how do they not hear these people? Like, yeah, anyway,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: wild I digress, But that.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Is a that's an amazing scene. And it's crazy that
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: they just they really were in that horse too, which
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: is nuts to me.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: I loved crazy when Damon gets out and his like
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: I don't know if this was real because he wasn't
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: there or just you know, acting again, but we like
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: so yeah, like his legs don't work right away, which
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: I was like, great, that's assuming.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: It's pretty good acting my guess.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: But yeah, loved that, you know, attention to detail.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: Yeah, Burnhal just came out swinging that.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought that was pretty crazy.
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: Also, just all those people with the ropes dragging the
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: horse across the Yeah, the works job for sure.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: I'll be chef or something.
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: I'd like to try this barred thing. I can remember
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: some stuff.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Let's go for it. Yeah, I hear you.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: I love both of those scenes. Yeah, they're both amazing.
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: I think I would have to take the lent like that.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: The Underworld scene with Hades so crazy, it's so intense.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: They're on that the Black Sand Beach in Iceland, I presume.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: I don't even know if I didn't what it looks.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: It was exactly that island, and it was that time
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: of year where it's like the sun never actually always
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: sets or whatever.
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like Minneapolis all the time.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: You don't know pretty much, it's right now.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: But oh there's the weather. We did it.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: But that scene is crazy, like the the blood into
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: the shield and then they have to taste like of
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: the living to be able to speak is so crazy
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: and creepy being awesome, the way they attack him.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Like all the guys that weren't buried, Yeah, that was.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: That was the unrest of you know, the shades and
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: like all that stuff. I just loved that. I thought
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: that was And it was, like, like you said, Rob,
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: that being that time a day or a year like
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: so moody, and it really felt like you were in
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: you know, another dimension or something like.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: It was crazy. So I loved that scene. I thought
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: it was After seeing that scene, can't you see Nolan
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: just destroying a horror film? Oh yeah, absolutely, I'm scared
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: to watch it, but yes, absolutely, Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: Dude, they're like all of them coming out from the sand,
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: and I think it's in the tribulator that was all practical.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: They had like snuffles or whatever. Yes, just appeared put like.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: A thousand They buried like a thousand people. That's just insane.
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: And then they were like each one of them had
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: their own person keeping track of time, which is smart,
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: you know, but also just a ton of people. What
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: a giant undertaking this.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: There's actually just Gerard Butler keeping time from law abiding
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: citizen character.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: I love that too.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: I'm most crazy we.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Got some runner up, so for sure? What was your
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: runner up?
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Do you think Segi for sure? This surce scene, yeah,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: I'm she changes them into pigs. Like you knew something
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: was up when the first round of soldiers goes up
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: and they passed the lion and the tiger and they
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: don't mean to get eaten.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: You're like, right, okay, something's wrong.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: Sums up here, up here, sumbs up.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: So there's fifty things of armor and shields outside of.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: The random was that was my thing? I feel like
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: I feel like Petel's character probably would have known once
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: he saw all that armor, like, oh yeah, maybe we
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: shouldn't leave our weapons. You know what I mean, Like
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: that was the only time where I was like, it
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: seems kind of dump.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: I feel like they're starving. They are starving, and it's
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: just yeah, they can smell the food.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: It's also the daughter of a god, so she has,
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: at least in the original stories some of them, she
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: has some powers of persuasion amongst other shirts.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: And they cast a human being to play that.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: I know, ridiculous.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: So so yeah, I guess that's a good point in
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: the sense that there was something mystical happening. Right, So
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: even though in under normal circumstances he probably, you know,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: being a you know, a battle torn soldier, he probably
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: would have known, but you know, all the things that
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: were happening and culminating to get him to that point.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: Maybe it's just like I just need to eat man.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: But the fact that there was no CGI in that
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: scene is freaking mind boggling, Like I don't I need
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: to see it, Like, yeah, I need to see I
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: think Nolan could also win Best Documentary if they just
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: did a doc of the making of this film. That's
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: such a great idea.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: They really should have been doing that little documentary about
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: the documentary, Like Docuceptiondcception.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: I think my runner up was actually the Sirens scene.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: Oh I love that scene. He just loved the ladies, man,
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: I love the ladies.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: I was extremely impressed. And I loved how he dampens
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: the sound once so JAMESH. Patel's puts the wax in
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: his ears and then you can still kind.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Of hear it, and then you just see Matt.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: Damon just screaming his head off and the one guy
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: he jumps overbred just that is that.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Is a tremendous scene.
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: I love that scene so intense, and then the voice
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: over with it obviously is just perfect.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Have you seen any memes of that with the Siren song,
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: there's a lot, but they usually put like, you know,
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: like smash mouth, like you're an all star or something.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: You know, like, well, now I know how to market
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: the Fall tour, so exactly twelve days of Christmas.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: I also saw one guy who like is going by
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Taco bell and like that creepy noise that Gorenson had
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: made with the score or whatever, and him just going
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: just screaming. I talk about because of the lettuce, because
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: of the.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Explosive Oh my goodness, it's.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: A great scene. What was your runner up, Bukes.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: I mean, I love the I love both of your guys.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: I had a hard time picking between them. I love
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: the Sirens so much and Circes so crazy cool.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: The only one other one we haven't really talked about
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: that I put down was the cyclop scene. That's great.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: It's so good, Like you get him following the sheet
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: up into the cave and I didn't know what was
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: going to happen. I'm not, like, I haven't read the
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: and so I didn't know what to expect. And then
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: you see this thing come into the cave.
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: You're like, oh my god, that cheese. I think he
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: sells it so much farmers farmers market.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: Well, yeah, maybe there are other cyclops around in the book.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: One were there.
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, there's a bunch of them. Because he taught
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: That's why the nobody stuff comes or no manner. What
- 1:15:30Speaker 4: everybody says becomes important because he says that to them
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: and they just think he's right, which is why.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: The part nobody is killing me and they're like, oh
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: he must be nice.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly right.
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: But I which is why the one part of that
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: I didn't that I was kind of like, oh, I
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: wish they would have kept. That wasn't so much that stuff.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: It was just Odysseus after they get out, like talking
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: and that that's how Poseidon knows to attack him, And
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: they didn't really do that in this They just had
- 1:15:59Speaker 4: him for the era, which actually worked fine.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: I just like it because he threw because he threw
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: the helmet at him, he felt like he.
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: Was instigating as opposed to instigating him, and so they
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: was like, well, no, dude, you just killed a bunch
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: of our dudes.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: That's not cool.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: So like I definitely saw that more than the original story.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: Absolutely. There was also a very humorous line in that scene.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: Do you remember the ants one?
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: Yes? Yes, after after.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: They realized that the Cyclops talks, maybe we should talk
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: reason with him, and the Damon's like, yeah, I think
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: we're past that point. I think past that. Yeah, it's great.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: That's a great line. It's just a great way to
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: like just break the tension in the theater. Like it's
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: like everyone's on the edge of the seat, like how
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: are they getting out of this? And then it's like
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: he gives that line. It kind of like okay, you
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: can exhale a little bit. Yeah, oh yeah, I'm watching
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: a movie obviously they're to get out. Yeah, yeah, it's fun,
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: but yeah.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: That scene is crazy, and the like in.
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: The filmmaking, the hand coming.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: In from outside of the light of the fire and
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: you know, like all that stuff is really cool.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: Again, very worry. So yeah, he definitely can do that
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: style for sure. Yeah that was crazy.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: But otherwise those were the six scenes that I put down.
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: Yeah, same. I think the only other one I would
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: say is we and we already talked about it, but
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: uh Odysseus coming back, the dog dying, those two, yeah,
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: having their moment of like when you know it'll come
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: up maybe in the quotes, but like when you do
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: meet your father, he's going to be so proud of you,
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: you know, and like we're not there yet, but when
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: that happened, you know, like that sort of unspoken but
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: spoken stuff.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: I really loved that scene. But that was great.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: I guess that could just be an add on to
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: the all the students, I guess for sure.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: But yeah, I feel like it's too hard to pick.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: The suitor fight definitely should be in there, but man,
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: the Trojan horse is such a choice scene.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Some nuts.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: And I'd be fine picking the serci scene to so
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: you say.
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: Those three yeah, triple ding guy, triple guy.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: We've already said some quotes, so let's pick some more
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: and let's show me.
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: The money, show me the money, show me.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: All say it a few.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: I guess, go for it.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: I'll go last.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Okay, find me sometime.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: Rob, you want to go first.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Somebody get these beggars out of here.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: It's pretty great. That's that's that's number one. Just such
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: a weird Jerry Lewis and.
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: My interpretation.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: The siren scene has just a crazy quote. Eurylica says,
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: what was the song of the sirens? Like Odysseus says,
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: all the things you wanted to be and then all
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: the things you wished you never wished for. It was
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: a delicious itch you want to scratch, but you find
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: it under the skin and can't reach it, so the
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: delicious itch becomes unbearable. It told you what you most
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: want is what you most can't have, and that the
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: most you can't have is what you already had and lost.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: That's nuts. It was a song of all the promises
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: I failed to keep, and it told me I don't
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: really want.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: To go home. Yeah, that's so good, so good.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: So did no one come up with that or is
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: that like a original way back in the day.
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: That's his own interpretation, that is, I guess I don't
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: know what that is? So cool, Yeah, I think that's
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: part of his interpretation of like, the reason it took
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: so long wasn't necessarily the gods, It was that he
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: wasn't he didn't think he deserved to go home, you know,
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: survivor guilt, reef, all that good stuff. I could be
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: wrong about that, but that's my understanding.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: So yeah, that one. And while you're hearing it, like
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: there's a lot of stuff going on in the background.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: I felt like I didn't get all of it the
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: first time, but really getting to just pay attention the
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: second time.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, So like, man.
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: That's a lot. That's some great writing. What else?
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: Oh, I liked menelais perhaps you've heard of Helen face
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: at launched a thousand ships and then they show her
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: all scarred up. He's like, maybe now just five hundred, yeah.
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: Brutal right. Yeah, I loved her because they really played
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: up the thing of like this is Agamemnon's excuse to
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: break Troy's control of a trading route. You know of
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: their trading routes. I thought, right, great, and she retorts that,
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: which is so fun.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's hilarious that uh Odysseus says he
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: doesn't want to follow agamem none. He's followed him enough.
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: He's like another stopp or two. Won't kill us.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it definitely killed all them, it.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Did, it really did.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: It's not going to kill him though. Yeah, he's good.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Given tinuous back. His shame was pretty great.
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: That might be the line of the movie for me.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I loved so good.
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: Why don't you say some buke sorry? It took a
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: bunch o, You're good?
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: I loved is this a mutiny that's up to you?
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: Which I thought was a pretty badass line. I really
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: liked that a lot.
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: God, dude, he takes it like a champ in your bow,
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: and I'll make sure that we get some food. So
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: even though you're betraying me, and he even goes and.
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: Tries to say him after he save him, after he
- 1:22:10Speaker 4: sees that nice butt on that deer. Great, but I
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: mean some real buns kicked up.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: I believe it must have worked out.
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: Uh, the gods they only allow for you to go home,
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: and then Odysseus says, then I defy the gods.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: Also, he didn't do a great job to find them,
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: as it turns out.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Um, but.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: I felt like he was gonna though, uh acting acting,
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: Uh is he come home?
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: Speaking of Odysseus soon bringing vengeance, bringing it all?
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: It's like, all right, let's go. I was just waiting
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: for them to cut to the control room, like Jason
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: exactly Christ Jason Bard. There are so many moments where
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: like even in the battle scene after he you know,
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: destroys everyone just like you like them apples like all
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: these like damonisms over the years. I'm like, oh, I
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: could have used that. They should have wrote that in
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: a Great Easterday. I love that. Oh.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: I love this Ann Hathaway line too.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: In this world, a man does what he chooses. I
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: do what I can.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: I thought that was a great line. Well, women's studies major,
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: So yeah, right, that makes sense.
- 1:23:39Speaker 4: Tracks you ready to go with some second? I don't
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: want to take them all from you.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I'll just add one. Sorry. Yeah, looking up on the
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: fly here when he's on the island with Calypso and
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: she's talking about his memory and happiness, and she asks
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: whether remembering could destroy his happiness, and then he said,
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: if it does, then it wasn't real. It's like, that's
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: why you can't stay on the island, bro. Yeah, real
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: life is out there and you got to get back
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: to it. Can't just be here in La La land.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah that sounds awful.
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, is your wife lit the pod?
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: Probably not? Maybe like the first couple episodes and then
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: it's like, are you guys.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: You've been doing it for years now? But no, I
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: felt like I would have totally kept eating the Lotus flower.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: I would have been Joey Pants in the matrix, just
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: choosing the other pill comfort, Ignorance is bliss.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: It would have been part of the crew eating the
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: kettle boom tasty. It was really yummy, to be fair.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: I don't know, man, they didn't have any seasoning.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: It just would have been tough.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: Salt on their beards.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: From the sea. Yeah.
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:25:04Speaker 4: Actually I loved this line that Athena says.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Anda says, uh.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: Damon says to her, why can't the God speak in
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: ways we understand? And she just goes who doesn't understand
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: thunder fire? The cry from a child's mouth? I just
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: thought that was really that was a cool line that
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: that was neat.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Yep, yeah, we said a little bit of but he
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: can talk? Why didn't you talk before? Do you talk
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: to ants? I wish he would have said it in
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: a Zooland.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Voice to talk for do you talk to ant?
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: And then just break into like mine Lais doesn't know?
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: Hell yeah, just put all everything Damon's ever done.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Another really funny line that I thought from this was, Uh,
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: Tom Holland gets the beggar that comes early in the
- 1:26:00Speaker 4: movie and he's like bringing forward and he's he's like,
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: you would challenge Zeus's law? You know, they're like they're
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: really telling us about just law more than anything in
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: that scene, but.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: That do you hear the thunder?
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: And then he's like, see Zeus himself doesn't. And as
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: they're walking back, the beggar goes to him. He's like,
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: the thunder was luck. That was pretty funny.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: Now the first time you saw it, did you guys
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: think that was gonna be Odysseus? No? Think so?
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: I don't think I did.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: I was like, I wonder if this is him? Interesting? No,
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: I like that. I was.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: I was not correct the whole time.
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: I actually was wondering, and I even looked it up
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: after I got out. I thought it was the guy
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: who plays the coach on ted Lasso, and I was like, that.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: Is the nuts if that's it, Like, what's his name,
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Brendan Brendan some Brendan Hunt or something.
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was good. Coach is his name
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: on the show.
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, coach thought him at first, and I was like, yeah, nice.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: The last one I had is we honor our dead Odysseus.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: He said he died so we could escape. We'll honor
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: him by escaping.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great line. Yeah. Truth, That's about all
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: I have. Anybody else, No, I'm good.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: Somebody get these bigger bugs boohoom moments the crying game.
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: So I picked five. I do feel like there could
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: have been more. It's tough when you're in the theater
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: and trying to take notes and not try to yes,
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: make people mad. But I picked five. My first one
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: is when Calypso gives him the pin Penelope gave him, yes,
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: and then he like closes it and puts it to
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: his head and he that music just is incredible.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: And yeah, so good. Absolutely.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: Uh, when Argus sees Odysseus and finally let's go and
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: you just see his tail kind of come up and then.
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: Man, yeah that was so good.
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: Absolutely the scene after that when Odysseus is talking to
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Penelope and she asks if Odysseus has worn the pen
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: and he said he's never taken it off.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I love that absolutely.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: Watching Zendaya get beheaded, even though that was a great
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: shot for it's like violence as it was, it like,
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: wasn't that It's not horrible, right, Like it cuts to
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: the statue head coming off, you know, and that was
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: I thought that was really effective. Oh was that one
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: of them?
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: No, that one didn't get me or at least.
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: Okay, And just when he collapses in Penelope's arms after
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: taking on all the suitors and you think he's gonna die,
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: but but he's like not to death, exile exile.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's another form of death.
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: That's true.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: That's true. Uh, Yeah, there's.
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: There's probably some earlier ones. Yeah, do you think were
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: there any other times you could have? Oh, now that
- 1:29:19Speaker 3: i'm thinking about it, something with you mayus maybe when
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: he gets maybe when Odysseus comes back and sees.
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: You Mayis and they have their chat.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Absolutely, yeah, yeah, that was a good one.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: What about when the suitors are beating up on him
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: feel screen?
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: I just thought, hey, he's a suitor, and it kind
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: of took me out of the moment every single time,
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: if I'm.
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: Completely what is that that's incredible from brother?
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: Also that I haven't seen in ages.
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: It's incredible. I thought of that so many times during.
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: This Oh I won't be able to see it again
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: without thinking that that's incredible.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: I think Rob probably cried when Damon leaves Calypso.
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: I didn't believe it.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: Last you had, he left the theater and demanded a refund.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: What do you doing?
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: Movies?
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: None of this is believable. No, none of this happened
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: in real life. Despite what the guy next to Segi.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Said, he could have just been there just in paradise,
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: and now he's got to go back and murder like
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: three hundred people. But whatever to Sarah, I guess that's great.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Totally emasculated his little son, his sixteen year old son's sixteen,
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: eighteen year old twenty years don't don't think about it.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: I don't know, take on the guy in the storage room.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: You take on the one guy. I'll take down these
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: three hundred suitors, but you take the one guy. And
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: he couldn't the.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Untrained How bad was mentor that he couldn't train this
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: dude up to be?
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: Yeah, well I was.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Waiting for like some redeeming scene for him, and it
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: just ye never comes. Now it's a.
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: Tough, tough part.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Or he could have just been like Spider Man.
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I am the Spiker.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Like, That's that's what I think I would do. Like,
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: you know, people like to pontificate upon what they would
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: do if they were you know, Elon Musk trillionaire. That's
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: the kind of stuff i'd do. Be like, all right,
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: we're gonna make this hilarious. All right, the Odyssey's out,
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: but now we're going to redo it with all these
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: other things that we've talked about. That's the kind of
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: stuff out. That's how I used like that. That's fun.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: That's not a waste, No, it's putting it to good use.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Art is never waste unless it's acapella.
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: Yeah, A lot of people disagree with that sentiment over
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: the years.
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: That's good. I like that.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Uh, there were a couple more. Should I speed run through?
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: Yeah, just tell just tell us, let's see.
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: I loved the line. It bookmarks their bookends the movie
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: is what I mean to say, Uh, toward the West
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: and the escaping sun, just all that stuff. I thought
- 1:32:32Speaker 4: that was great. First time she says that if we ran,
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: I thought that was very touching.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: That was great.
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: Love the line, and it did make me cry that
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: they were already pigs. That Circe says, such a good.
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: Into your disguises, back into your disguises.
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: She's scary and that was scary too.
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: She was also funny too, because when he's like, why
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: didn't you turn your sister back? She was like, we
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: get along better this way. That's great. Anyone with a
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: sibling can can relate to that. So, uh is it?
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: Sinna?
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: Is that who? Elliott page? San? Yes? San? Yes? Uh?
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: You lied to everyone else? Did you have to lie
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: to me? When he says, I just thought that was incredible?
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: I loved that and that seems so spooky. I was
- 1:33:22Speaker 4: The siren scene just in general made me cry. But
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: when he said like it told me I didn't want
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: to go home, Like that's just intense and great Lupita saying,
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: give my greetings to your mother. Tell her I'm sorry.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: I'm sorry for everything that happened in my name. I
- 1:33:39Speaker 4: loved that. Yes, giving and giving Helen some agency is
- 1:33:45Speaker 4: pretty fun.
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: I liked that.
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: But oh, his name, these two are kind of the same.
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: But his name is Mentor. And so after in the
- 1:33:59Speaker 4: what are they in there in the temple and the
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: guy's trying to kill him and all that stuff and.
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: Very cool scene, you too seeing, Yeah.
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: We probably would have been to talk about it.
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: But when he's like, his name is Mentor, and when
- 1:34:09Speaker 4: you're safe, we'll sail into the unknown west and honor him.
- 1:34:12Speaker 4: After Tom Hollins like we have to bury our dead,
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: you know, all that good stuff.
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: And then and then it would have been great if
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: you would have said, it's not your fault.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: It's not it's not your fault.
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: It's not your fault.
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: Not you too.
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: We got to make this movie, guess yeah. Uh.
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: And then the one he says to just the the
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: Wiener of all Wieners, Robert Pattinson, Uh, when you get
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: to Hades, tell my men, I will sail west and
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: honor them, and tell Sin I returned your shame and
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: that got that was that was some hype tears.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, that's another top five like most h oh yeah,
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: like like your yeah, yeah, it'll get us on ahe.
- 1:35:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I do like that.
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: That would be good.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: That'd be a good one.
- 1:35:04Speaker 4: A lot of them, but those were all the time,
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: so it was like, what ten or something?
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: Probably ten.
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: Yeah, some of them bleed together. It's hard to tell.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Three hour movie.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I thought you're going to get ten booze,
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: it's gonna happen.
- 1:35:17Speaker 4: Ah. Well, what about some movie trivia? Although I think
- 1:35:20Speaker 4: we sat a few of these. We said the thing
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: about Iceland in the eerie all day light of the
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: midnight sun.
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: Pretty cool like that.
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: Let's see when Odysseus and his men first set sail
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: for Troy, dolphins can be seen swimming off to the
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: side that we mentioned. That was not l It was
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: just a happy accident chance they caught while filming, which
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: I think is lovely.
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: So cool, very new, and the dolphin were like, I
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: want to see this movie. Yeah, let's see it. Oh man.
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: Imagine being that smart and not being able to see it.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: Poop uh. ODC's encounter with the Cyclops was filmed inside
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: Nestor's Cave in the the Peloponnese region of Greece. It
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: measures sixty five by fifty two feet with a vaulted
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: ceiling of ninety five feet and humans have used it
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: since the Neolithic period, so that's been around for that cave.
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: His scenes some stuff too, which is kind of fun.
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we all know exactly what that period was. Yeah, yes,
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: of course we do, right between that other one and
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: the one effort, Yes, but before the other.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: The Cyclops was designed based on a Francisco de Goya
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: painting Saturn devouring his son.
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want to check that. Yeah, his face
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: was it was the hymn eating.
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: Yeah, eating the people.
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: The dude.
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: Yeah, chopped right down on his head, didn't he?
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: He really did well.
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: We said it was a puppet. Bill Irwin was the
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: one that.
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: Was brought life to a shout out to Bill Irwin.
- 1:37:00Speaker 4: Him Tony winning actor and clown they want to put
- 1:37:04Speaker 4: in there.
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:37:06Speaker 4: And he worked with Nolan in a similar physical performance
- 1:37:09Speaker 4: in Interstellar when he was Tars in case Tars which
- 1:37:12Speaker 4: I love Tars as well, in case, I guess less
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: case uh. To light the Massive Troy Night sequence authentically
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: without using actual fire. The cinematographer Hot van Houtema and
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: his team invented devices they called pyrahedrons, triangle shaped circuit
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: boards studded with hexagon shaped arrangements of LEDs that emitted light,
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: mimicking the color and movement of fire. Thousands of these
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: were manufactured and sent to the set, which is crazy.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: Thousands crazy. Uh, he just got him on Amazon.
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it probably could have figured it out or TEAMU
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: at least.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: It was Christopher Nolan's idea that the Trojan alarm system
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: in the film be represented by large bronze sheets that
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: people of Troy would have struck during the siege, and
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: that the growing cacophony of that sound was sold into
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: Odysseus's defining three note musical motif throughout the film. So
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: that's really cool. Cool. I love that.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: So cool.
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: They used to real ship for all the maritime sequences.
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: They used the Viking. It's the largest modern Viking long ship,
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: the Draken Harald har Fogger.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Or something easy for you to say.
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: I don't know, I'll probably have to cluck that out.
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: It was built to ancients and from period appropriate materials
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: in Stophunger Narvae. The ship had previously crossed the Atlantic
- 1:38:45Speaker 4: Ocean twice and came with the sailing crew who became
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: part of the movie.
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: So that's kind of fun. The sailing crew just like
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: you're in it now, welcome. You kind of need them.
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: So we're in an film.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: People that know how to move that ship around, looks,
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: why do we get them costumed up and among us?
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: I think I think people probably have heard this, but
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: the the Imax film, the cameras that they use can
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: only do like I think it's three to five minutes
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: or something like that per per real basically, And Keith B. Davis,
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: who was the cameraman, trained himself to reload it so
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: quickly that the entire cast and crew could just like
- 1:39:25Speaker 4: pause and then be back up and running almost immediately.
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: So that was the way to get around that pretty nuts.
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: It's like a stress crew seriously, And I mean they're
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: going to be filming all day, right, so he's got
- 1:39:38Speaker 4: to do that hundreds of times or something.
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: What was the total length and feet of all the film?
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: So I don't know, I didn't see that one.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: That was one of the things I saw, like two
- 1:39:48Speaker 3: million feet.
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet it was like farther than like Toronto
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: to Istanbul or something crazy.
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: Quintin Tarantino's Dream right there, two million feet two.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: Point one million feet.
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: That's nuts, crazy, insane, We said this, Ludwig Gornson. They
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: made the soundtrack around the bronze gongs, the lyre and
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: the flute, and they had to make a bunch of
- 1:40:17Speaker 4: them and craziness. We said that. I don't know why
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: I wrote that down. That's nothing interesting. Costume designer Ellen
- 1:40:29Speaker 4: Mironik made a deliberate decision to avoid the gleaming golden
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: look typically given to bronze movies. Instead, every piece of
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: armor was aged by hand using chemical patinas, real abrasion,
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: and real impact to achieve the dark, oxidis dented look
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: of metal that has absorbed the weather, sweat and violence.
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: And I thought that was really effective too, Like that
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: all the stuff look very lived in, which I.
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: Think is fair.
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: And it is kind of the like oxida of the
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: Bronze age a little bit too, which is kind of
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: a fun, you know.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Like that.
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: Matt Damon stunt in the film was a female stunt performer,
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: Devin Dalton, and Damon has said that she had the
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: greatest arms he's ever seen.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: Which is pretty really fun.
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: Yeah, she's ripped, so that's fun.
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: He grew a real beard.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: We knew that he's a real boy, a real boy.
- 1:41:30Speaker 4: The cast playing Odysseus's crew were required to learn real
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: rowing and real sailing, and they discovered that moving a
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: ship on ocean sea by sheer muscle power is genuinely grueling.
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: Dropping a large ore in the water at speed can
- 1:41:44Speaker 4: break ribs or catapults a rower overboard.
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: So that's scary. I don't like it.
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: I went to have been a good sailor either not
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: for me, No, not for me.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: Little hms Pitafore maybe could maybe do maybe that. For sure, it.
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: Was John Leguizamo's idea to have his character's cataracts be
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: different colors, contributing to the distinctive look that he had,
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: which I thought was cool.
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: Cool mixtures or not a lot of people know that. Mmm,
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: I love it, love it.
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: A team of more than five hundred people working across
- 1:42:25Speaker 4: Los Angeles, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Iceland, Scotland, Spain, England, New
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: York and New Zealand created fifty three hundred costumes for
- 1:42:35Speaker 4: this film and if they don't win a costuming.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: Award, I swear to it. Yeah, that's pretty nice.
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: I thought this was a fun I love the way
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: that he changed this part. But Antinius who is the
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: wiener Robert Pattinson in the In the story, he's the
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: first of the suitors to die by Odysseus's hand, and
- 1:43:00Speaker 4: in this movie he's last. So I thought that was
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: kind of a fun A fun way to jump makes
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: a lot of sense it after being granted passage by Poseidon.
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: The beach on which Odysseus wakes up is covered in
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: neptunes grass, which is Poseidonia oceanica, a seagrass found only
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: in the Mediterranean. That's fun A little nod to that.
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: And when Odysseus announces to its mend they're leaving to
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: head home, he says, oh.
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: You said this already.
- 1:43:31Speaker 4: The he says, a couple stops won't kill us, and
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: then it in fact definitely does.
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: It did.
- 1:43:38Speaker 4: That was all the trivia I had. I don't know
- 1:43:40Speaker 4: if you had any other stuff, Rob.
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: I mean, there's a lot of things I've seen, but
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: apparently you know, those Imax cameras are huge, and while
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: filming them, the actors had a hard time seeing each other.
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: To solve the eye line eye line problem, they got
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: a system of mirrors that allowed actors to see each
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: other while performing scenes together.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: Really cool, and I saw that Damon in an interview
- 1:44:07Speaker 4: was like, and it worked so like it felt like
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: you were just right there with him, because he talked
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: about a scene he did with Anne Hathaway and was like,
- 1:44:16Speaker 4: it's so weird that now, because of the mirrors, I
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: think we were face to face while doing that scene
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: and we weren't, you know, like she was actually over here.
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: But sure, which I think is cool. That is cool.
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: It's me.
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: Nolan was initially attached to direct the film Troy, and
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: that's probably why he ended up doing this later on.
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: He probably kind of researched, that would be my guess,
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: but he did Batman Begins instead, and then we got
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: that amazing trilogy.
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: God, everything happened as it was supposed to be.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: Absolutely it was supposed to, yes, and there's a bunch
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: more things, but one that I saw, and who knows
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: if it's true for sure. But Robert Downey Junior was
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: offered to the role of the ocean god Poseidon, but
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: turned it down. To work on Avengers Doom's Day interesting
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: and that was one thing that I really loved is
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: that we didn't actually see them interacting with God yes
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: in this or did I really liked that? Or do
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: we right?
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Sometimes they appear as even but they did.
- 1:45:22Speaker 4: I did read something that one of the first versions
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: of this had like them on Mount Olympus with the
- 1:45:28Speaker 4: actual gods and would have been he probably would have
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: done a great job. That just seems like it could
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: have got cheesy.
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: Click it seems like it's a different movie.
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, now it's just Avengers, right right, absolutely, Yeah,
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: but that was all I had.
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: Did you have any other tidbits?
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: Yeah? I loved hearing about how they did the whirlpool
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: scene in the Ocean. They used jet skis. Really, it
- 1:45:56Speaker 2: was a team of jet skis that created that whirldpool
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: so they could use it for the film.
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: Was that actually, like in That's the Ocean? Did they
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: do that?
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: Yes, but there wasn't an actual like, right, but to
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: just get the water moving, it's really cool. I need
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: to see I need to see that behind the scenes,
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: Like they've got to come out with that at some
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: point because there's so many you what's that.
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: Like, there's so many things I just assumed worse each
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: guy that I didn't even write, like that they weren't
- 1:46:31Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: Like there's there's only a couple of films where you
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: walk away being like, man, that looked so hard to make,
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Like you could just tell
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: it was hell for those actors, like they live in it, Like, yeah,
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: it wasn't real, but man, it was real, you know
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: what I mean? That makes sense. Yeah, it's just it's insane.
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: The the creativity he had, like his brain is just insane.
- 1:46:59Speaker 2: I just want to talk to them.
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: Can you tell me stuff? Yeah, let's get him up.
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: So remember when you did the Odyssey? That's pretty cool.
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: So that's pretty cool.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: I love that.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: Fun nice.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: All right, Well let's go to Judgement Day. Will there
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: be a sequel?
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: No, actually, the sequel has already been released. What is it?
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: Not a lot of people know. But when Damon and
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: Hathaway exile, they actually buy a zoo. Oh yeah, not
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: a lot of people know that these are connected. I
- 1:47:43Speaker 2: like that. That's pretty good.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: That's really good. But apparently the literature apparently there was
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: an ancient sequel written in sixth century BC called the
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: telegony that follows the Son of Odysseus, and so Odysseus
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: and Circe have a son in.
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: This sequel, Yeah, which is crazy. How do you think
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: he really convinced her to turn him back?
- 1:48:08Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, right, he was there for
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: over a year with Circe, him and his crew. A
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: great book if you ever want to read some like
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: fan fiction mythology stuff. But it's called I don't remember
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: the author, but it's awesome, super interesting.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: I believe his name is Homer, Homer, Homer Dope. And
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: then apparently there is a modern sequel by Nicos kesin Zakis.
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: I think it was in early nineteen hundreds, where Odysseus
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: gets bored of quiet family life and sales away to
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: explore Egypt, Sparta, and Antarctica in search of ultimate freedom.
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: So I doubt that they do anything with that, but
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: who knows me.
- 1:48:53Speaker 4: No, they won't, they won't.
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: You can't can't do that.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: We can't do you guys want to play a game? Yeah, sure,
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: I came up with a quotes game. So I'm going
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: to say a quote, and I'm going to need three
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: things for you. When you know what the film is
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: you're going to ring in with your name, You're going
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: to say the name of the film, You're going to
- 1:49:16Speaker 3: say the name of the actor who said it, and
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: the name of the character that that actor is playing.
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: You won't get any negative points for wrong answers. And
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: if you get any of those three things wrong, the
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: other person can come in and steal.
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: Remember any character names character character, Yeah, big time.
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: All of these films have something in common. It might
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: just pertain to the movie we talked about. When you
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: know the theme, you can ring in at any time.
- 1:49:52Speaker 2: For a point.
- 1:49:55Speaker 3: We feel good? Yea, yeah, all right, there's gonna be
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: ten of these. Here's the first one. Mankind was born
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: on Earth. It was never meant to die here.
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: Oh bugs, bugs, Interstellar? Got it? Is that Matthew McConaughey.
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: All right, all right, all right.
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: And he's Cooper.
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: Nice dude.
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: I don't know. It's full.
- 1:50:30Speaker 3: That's all I needed was Cooper started off strong. Let's
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: go to number two. Now I am become Death, the
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: destroyer of worlds.
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: Oh, bukes, bukes.
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: So these must all be Christopher Nolan films. Is the theme.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Incorrect?
- 1:50:57Speaker 4: Okay?
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Great? Well, this is Oppenheim.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: It is Oppenheimer, and it.
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: Is Oppenheimer's the character name. Do you know his first name? Should?
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: But I don't.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: It's j Robert Oppenheimer. But you still get a point.
- 1:51:13Speaker 3: My name is Jeff Robert Oppenheimer.
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: And it's uh four Murphy three, got it?
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: Three points? Another three points started off strong, and those
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: first two were Christopher Nolan movies.
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: That is correct?
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: Is it regret?
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: Oh, that's fun.
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: It's not as deep as that movies.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: A movie quotes. It's in the name of the can.
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: All right, here we go number three. You guys, Because
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: the house always wins, play long enough, you never change
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: the steaks. Yes, this is rounders incorrect.
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: Segi segi, Ocean's eleven.
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: Oceans, eleven.
- 1:52:18Speaker 2: And air.
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: I'll just say the rest of it for you. Because
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: the house always wins. Play long enough, you never change
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: the steaks. The house takes you unless when that perfect
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: hand comes along, you bet and you take the house.
- 1:52:32Speaker 2: I'm between the two guys. Yeah, I think it's clooney.
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: Boom three.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: This one was sitting at the poker table, right, Brad
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: Pitt's teaching those idiots out of play. Yeah, well, no,
- 1:52:46Speaker 2: is that the scene.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: No, it's a little later because then Brad Pitt is like,
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: you rehearse that?
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I felt like I rushed it. It's right after
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: that scene they're walking out walking.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: These Matt Damon movies. Boom got it. Yes, all of
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: these will.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: Be magging in movies.
- 1:53:10Speaker 3: Oh my, here we go. That might make it a
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: little easier or hard. Number four. I'm the guy who
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: does his job. You must be the other guy, the departed,
- 1:53:25Speaker 3: The departed Matt Damon.
- 1:53:27Speaker 2: Mark Wahlberg says it, well, I do not know that
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: dude's name.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: Well, it's like a typical.
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: It's like, oh man, you'll definitely know when I say it.
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: But I wouldn't have gotten it.
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: I don't know. Man, you got it?
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: Segie, No, you gotta guess, okays, you gotta guess Murphy.
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: It's not Murphy. No, it's Dignam.
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, dignam. Yeah that sounds I would have never
- 1:53:57Speaker 4: pulled that.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: But yeah, two points though, nically done. All right, this
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: will make a quick number five. This Ryan better be
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: worth it. He'd better go home, cure some disease, or
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: invent a longer.
- 1:54:11Speaker 4: Yes, saving Private Ryan, saving yep, saving Private Ryan who
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: says that.
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: Though he'd better go home, cure some disease or invent
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: a longer lasting light bulb or something.
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: Huh, it's not Tom Hanks.
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: Is it?
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: It is Tom?
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: Okay? What is his name?
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: Remember his character's name off the top forrest?
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: No, I don't, I don't remember it.
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: Do you remember the character name? Seggie?
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: Captain?
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: He's an English team?
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: It is captain. What is his last name?
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: Ding? Ding? There it is nail.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: It just all these are No, it's captain, Miller's Miller,
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: captain Phillips.
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: Nice, I'm the captain. But you got two points? Wait
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: to go?
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: Where are we after five?
- 1:55:18Speaker 2: I have nine?
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: Saggy has five?
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: Everybody's in it?
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: All right? We got five more? Here comes number six?
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: He beat me straight up?
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: Pay him?
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:55:30Speaker 4: Rounders rough John Malcovich, John Malcovich. Oh why can I
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: not think of his name right now?
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: I should know this? Four?
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: Three?
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: My clubs the.
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: Saggy. Do you know John Malcovitch's it's not the Russian.
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: Is one letter? T?
- 1:55:57Speaker 4: Don't I need more than one letter?
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: Why don't you say all of the letters? Uh?
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: Teddy kg, that's what it is. Yeah, but you got
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: rounders and Malkovich.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: P and his money, the delegator blood m M.
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: All right, number seven, You're not perfect sport, and let
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: me save you the suspense good will hunting.
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: Yes, Robin Williams. Yes, I'm having a hard time with
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: character names. Tonight, Sean.
- 1:56:35Speaker 3: Yep, Sean works know his last name? Thought, doctor? They
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: haven't listed that on they do, so you're good? Another
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: three points?
- 1:56:48Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: Number eight. In the face of overwhelming odds, I'm left
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: with only one option. I'm gonna have to science the yes,
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: the Martian, the mashion, gaming, me gaming.
- 1:57:02Speaker 2: Oh, I've watched so.

- 1:57:08Speaker 3: Got it?
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: What nice.
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: Kind of running away with it?
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: Yeah? Should I just log off?
- 1:57:18Speaker 3: Here's this one?
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: Number nine.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: I can tell you the license plate numbers of all
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: six cars outside. I can tell you that our waitress
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: is left handed, and the guy is sitting up at
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: the counter weighs two hundred and fifteen pounds and knows
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: how to handle himself. I know the best place to
- 1:57:32Speaker 3: look for a gun is in the.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: Cab or the great truck outside.
- 1:57:35Speaker 3: And at this altitude I can run flat out for
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: a half mile before my hands starts shaking. Now, why
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: would I know that. How can I know that and
- 1:57:42Speaker 3: not know who I am?
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: Us? Oh? I did ring again? M the Born I
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: met game in and Jesus Christ. That's Jason Bourne.
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: Nice, amazing. So those are the easy one. Here's this
- 1:58:00Speaker 3: one might be tough. Number ten we're just doing it
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: for fun. But number ten, thanks man. I always thought
- 1:58:11Speaker 3: it would be better to be a fake somebody than
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: a real nobody.
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: Oh it sounds familiar, Mukes.
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: It sounds like something that talented mister Ripley might say.
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: You got it, Yep, he's got Matt Damon nailed.
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: It, the talented mister Ripley.
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: Mister Ripley. Yeah, his first name is Tom Tom. And
- 1:58:39Speaker 3: then a bonus one just for fun. There's a point
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: at seven thousand rpm where everything fades, The machine becomes weightless,
- 1:58:46Speaker 3: just disappears, and all that's left is a body moving
- 1:58:49Speaker 3: through space and time. Seven thousand rpm. That's where you
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: meet it. You feel it coming, It creeps up on it.
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: Yes, seven thousand Now I was gonna say four versus
- 1:59:01Speaker 2: for your Ferrari it is and he plays a is it?
- 1:59:06Speaker 2: Matt Damon, Tom.
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: Shelby Shelby Boom, I got it, Carol Shelby.
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: But I'm the one that I thought you were gonna
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: do for the bonus Rob.
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: Yes, Scotty doesn't know that.
- 1:59:22Speaker 3: That'd have been too good.
- 1:59:23Speaker 2: The bonus one was worth a thousand points, right, yeah,
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: yeah you win?
- 1:59:28Speaker 3: He wins. Uh. But yeah, Biggs, you're gonna tell us
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: how we do our top.
- 1:59:33Speaker 2: Five movie dogs draft.
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: But that's just gonna be for our pain, that's right.

- 2:00:16Speaker 2: at any time and it would just sound like it's there.
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: It is controlled chaos. I don't forget any the words. Yeah, yeah, bet.
- 2:00:23Speaker 4: How many times do you think you've done that? That
- 2:00:25Speaker 4: song specific?

- 2:00:31Speaker 2: don't know ten thousand.
