- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Danish with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. We are picking up right where we left off last week. Lucas: Last time we were at the hardware store looking for tools. Luna: Yes. But today we are going somewhere different. My eyes have been tired lately. Lucas: So you need to see an eye specialist. An optician. Luna: Exactly. I want to know how to ask for help there. Lucas: Let us start with the most important problem. Blurry vision. Luna: How do I say I cannot see clearly? Lucas: Listen closely. Jeg kan ikke se klart. Luna: Jeg kan ikke se klart. Lucas: Good. It means I cannot see clearly. Luna: It feels a bit long to remember. Lucas: Think of it as three parts. I can not see clear. Luna: Okay. Jeg kan ikke se klart. I cannot see clearly. Lucas: Perfect. Let us try it again slowly. Luna: Jeg kan ikke se klart. Lucas: You are doing great. Now imagine you are at the desk. Luna: I say it to the receptionist. Lucas: Yes. And they might ask if your vision is okay. Luna: But I need to check the chart. How do I ask if it is good? Lucas: You ask: Er det godt? Luna: Er det godt? Lucas: That means Is it good? or Does it look good? Luna: Er det godt. I hope it is good. Lucas: Right. They point to letters. You read them. Luna: Then they ask me to cover one eye. Lucas: Yes. There is usually a black circle on the wall. Luna: Where is that? Lucas: You ask: Hvor er den sorte cirkel? Luna: Hvor er den sorte cirkel? Lucas: Well done. Where is the black circle? Luna: It sounds very specific. I like it. Lucas: It is very common in clinics. Over here, Luna. Luna: Hvor er den sorte cirkel? Lucas: There it is. On the wall. Now you look into the machine. Luna: After the test, what happens next? Lucas: They tell you if you need glasses. Luna: Oh no. Do I really need them? Lucas: Maybe. You say: Jeg har brug for briller. Luna: Jeg har brug for briller. Lucas: That means I need glasses. Luna: Jeg har brug for briller. Yes, I think so. Lucas: Now you go to the frame display. Luna: There are so many options. Lucas: Pick a pair. Ask to try them on. Luna: How do I ask that politely? Lucas: Say: Kan du prøve disse? Luna: Kan du prøve disse? Lucas: Can you try these? Or let me try these? Luna: Kan du prøve disse. I want to look in the mirror. Lucas: Excellent. You are almost ready to buy them. Luna: This was easier than I thought.
