- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, my closing remarks today is a bit of encouragement
- 0:05Speaker 1: just about responsibility. I understand that responsibility can be daunting
- 0:11Speaker 1: at times, but have you.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Ever thought about looking at it like this, How great.
- 0:20Speaker 1: And how wonderful it has to be when the responsibilities
- 0:26Speaker 1: get a bit much that you still have the capability
- 0:29Speaker 1: of handling them. I know it's tough, but you were
- 0:34Speaker 1: equipped for it. You've survived it so many times. You
- 0:40Speaker 1: are wonderfully made. God has strengthened you and favored you,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and graced you and got you in this position. Sometimes,
- 0:50Speaker 1: you know, you're the one in the family that everybody
- 0:52Speaker 1: go to with all their problems, all they requests, And
- 0:56Speaker 1: I know it gets on your nerves, and I know
- 0:58Speaker 1: you want to go. Man, I wish they would call
- 1:00Speaker 1: somebody else. But let me ask you this though, Ain't
- 1:05Speaker 1: it better to be the one that's being called than
- 1:07Speaker 1: the one that has to call? I would rather be
- 1:11Speaker 1: the lender than the borrower. And I know it gets
- 1:15Speaker 1: on your nerves. I know you do, because many of
- 1:17Speaker 1: you all listening to others, the ones in your family
- 1:20Speaker 1: that climbed the corporate letter, that got the position down
- 1:23Speaker 1: at the post office, that worked to save your money,
- 1:26Speaker 1: that managed to put your retirement money up, that has
- 1:30Speaker 1: managed to go to work and accumulate some money. And
- 1:34Speaker 1: we all got them relatives, man, that just don't get it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: They just don't get it. That seemed like they ain't
- 1:42Speaker 1: trying to do no better. And every time they get
- 1:44Speaker 1: in a hole, here they come, hey, bruh, can you man?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Can you help me out? Hey?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Let me holler at you. I know you got it. Hey,
- 1:55Speaker 1: look man, I've been I just got into myself in
- 1:58Speaker 1: a little position over and over and over and over.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And you want to go, hey, man, when are you
- 2:05Speaker 1: gonna stop doing this to yourself? And it gets to
- 2:09Speaker 1: be a bit much. But man, think about it, y'all.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Ain't it a blessing to be the one that you
- 2:16Speaker 1: turned out to be. You may not be have reached
- 2:19Speaker 1: all your goals yet and gotten exactly where you want
- 2:22Speaker 1: to be, But man, ain't you better off than you were?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Ain't you better off than most? And I know I've
- 2:30Speaker 1: said this before that comparison is the biggest thief of joy.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Comparison is the biggest thief of joy, But it can
- 2:42Speaker 1: also be a reminder of how far you've come, how
- 2:49Speaker 1: well you've done how the sacrifices you've made have paid off.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I would rather be the loner than the bar and
- 3:01Speaker 1: as daunting as that can be, it's a really really
- 3:04Speaker 1: good position. And every now and there, man, I have
- 3:07Speaker 1: to remind myself that to whom much is given, much
- 3:10Speaker 1: is required. That's true of you, because it's all relative.
- 3:18Speaker 1: See quit talking about who rich and who ain't. It's
- 3:20Speaker 1: a lot of ways to be rich, rich in spirit,
- 3:24Speaker 1: rich in family, rich in health, rich and joy, rich
- 3:27Speaker 1: in peace, rich in just contentment. Man, it's so many
- 3:36Speaker 1: people just not content. That's a beautiful place to be in.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And you've made all the sacrifices to get yourself to
- 3:44Speaker 1: where you are, and be thankful for that. Man, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 1: we got to show compassion to those less fortunate than
- 3:52Speaker 1: I understand that. But being responsible for me has been
- 3:57Speaker 1: one of my greatest honors. I am grateful to God
- 4:01Speaker 1: Almighty that he made me responsible. I am grateful to
- 4:07Speaker 1: God Almighty that he put it all on me. I
- 4:13Speaker 1: accept the fact that I am the one that he chose.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I don't know why he picked me, but I'm so
- 4:22Speaker 1: glad he did. You may not know why he picked you,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but ain't you glad he did. You may not understand
- 4:32Speaker 1: how you made it this far looking back on all
- 4:36Speaker 1: you went through. But ain't you glad though? Ain't you
- 4:41Speaker 1: glad that God showed you this much grace and this
- 4:44Speaker 1: much favor. You Remember when they wrote you off, Remember
- 4:47Speaker 1: when everybody was talking about you. Remember when you was
- 4:50Speaker 1: the hot topic. Remember all that. Remember when you came
- 4:54Speaker 1: into work and they was laughing you. Remember when you
- 4:57Speaker 1: were sitting over there in your cubicle, just trying to
- 4:59Speaker 1: do your job and you could hear the mummering.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But all look at you. Now. You got through it,
- 5:04Speaker 2: didn't you. That's because God is good. Man.
- 5:08Speaker 1: God is full of favor, and I appreciate it. And
- 5:12Speaker 1: sometimes as daunting as being responsible gets, I'm so glad
- 5:17Speaker 1: He made me who I am because there ain't nobody
- 5:22Speaker 1: nobody I want to be other than me. Because I'm
- 5:26Speaker 1: gonna tell you something. Man, you might be looking at
- 5:29Speaker 1: somebody talking about man, I wish that was me. But
- 5:31Speaker 1: you really don't know what's behind that curtain. Man, It's
- 5:35Speaker 1: some ugly stuff behind the facades that some people putting on.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Learn how to be content with who you are. Be
- 5:43Speaker 1: thankful every day for the person you've turned out to
- 5:46Speaker 1: be and the person you're going to be, because it's
- 5:49Speaker 1: a process. If you do that, you'll enjoy your life
- 5:53Speaker 1: a little bit better. I was talking to myself today.
