Latest / Normally / Normally Podcast: Biden's Health and the Media's Blind Spot
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hey, we are that Colin and Normway the show with
- 0:05Speaker 1: normal it takes for when the news gets weird. I
- 0:07Speaker 1: am Mary Katherine ham Man.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I'm Carol Marcoiz, I'm Mary Catherine.
- 0:11Speaker 1: How's it going, Hey, you know, I'm just learning all
- 0:14Speaker 1: the breaking news still about Biden being sick and old
- 0:18Speaker 1: and infirm and losing his mind and having cancer. Yeah.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Well, it's funny because the liberals who denied it for
- 0:25Speaker 2: so long are now coming to terms with the fact
- 0:29Speaker 2: that they lied about it, and they were lied to.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Let's say, let's give them that tiny, tiny benefit of
- 0:36Speaker 2: the doubt, which I don't really believe. Then we have
- 0:40Speaker 2: in the Atlantic today a story Biden's age wasn't to
- 0:45Speaker 2: cover up. It was observable fact. And the argument goes
- 0:49Speaker 2: that the former president was old, deal with it. There's
- 0:54Speaker 2: nothing new here. I'm not entirely sure that's true.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Well, also, the logic is so circular. Sure, everyone in
- 1:03Speaker 1: the industry whose job it is to tell you these
- 1:06Speaker 1: things are happening ignored it was happening even though it
- 1:09Speaker 1: was observable fact, asked no questions about it. Claims ignorance, which,
- 1:13Speaker 1: by the way, if it was observable fact why are
- 1:15Speaker 1: you so dumb? Not the guy who wrote this, actually,
- 1:18Speaker 1: because he did write earlier about Biden being old and
- 1:21Speaker 1: should he shouldn't run. But they then they used the
- 1:25Speaker 1: fact that it's observable although it tricked most of them,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and they ignored it to say, well, the cover up
- 1:31Speaker 1: doesn't matter because it's not much of a cover up.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Of eighty percent of Americans understood. It's like it just
- 1:36Speaker 1: it's so self serving and so nicsensical.
- 1:39Speaker 2: But the twenty percent who didn't think that Biden was
- 1:43Speaker 2: too old to run are in the top echelon of
- 1:46Speaker 2: our media.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So that is a problem we do need to talk
- 1:51Speaker 1: about it. I also don't like about this piece now Leaviovich.
- 1:55Speaker 1: This is Mark Leaviovich, who is a bit of like
- 1:59Speaker 1: a man around type columnist. But the tone of this
- 2:03Speaker 1: is you could read it in Lady Thistledown's voice, the
- 2:06Speaker 1: near the voiceover from Bridgerton, like it is. It's like.
- 2:11Speaker 1: For the latest chapter in this saga, we give thanks
- 2:13Speaker 1: to a new book out today whose arrival has been
- 2:16Speaker 1: as hotly anticipated around Washington as a Sunday card at
- 2:19Speaker 1: the Senior Home. It's vertically titled Original Sin, The Book
- 2:22Speaker 1: that Seeing and host Jake Tapper and Axios's Alex Thompson
- 2:25Speaker 1: offers the latest after action report of the calamitous culmination
- 2:29Speaker 1: of Biden's career. I mean, it's just the book depicts
- 2:32Speaker 1: a kind of West wing Weekend at Bernie's, with Biden
- 2:35Speaker 1: playing the frail, prideful and self deluded leader. Well, yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: we've been making that joke for six years now.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Weekend at Bernie's is an overplayed joke at this point,
- 2:45Speaker 2: because that's what it is.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Funny. It's like, there are I feel like a couple
- 2:50Speaker 1: of people in media in the left who like probably
- 2:53Speaker 1: saw that before, like right wing conspiracy mongering, and now
- 2:56Speaker 1: they're like, hardy horror, we will make the joke, Like
- 2:58Speaker 1: y'all are just the joke now got here? And Laimovich,
- 3:04Speaker 1: due to his flippant tone, makes himself look bad when
- 3:09Speaker 1: he's a person who should get credit because he wrote
- 3:12Speaker 1: like three columns in The Atlantic saying this guy's too
- 3:14Speaker 1: old and shouldn't run.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and he look, he gives himself the credit and the.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Piece, but like, how are you on the right side
- 3:22Speaker 1: of this issue and still disgrace yourself on the coverage
- 3:25Speaker 1: of this issue?
- 3:26Speaker 3: Right?
- 3:26Speaker 2: It's amazing it's really impressive, you.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Know, like it's not much of a cover up. I'm
- 3:31Speaker 1: just not that interested, like you guys are You guys
- 3:34Speaker 1: are like really freaking out about this.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Right right right? And of course there's the additional part
- 3:39Speaker 2: about the cancer, which it is. I mean, it has
- 3:43Speaker 2: to be a cover up, is what everybody's coming down to.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Even people on the left are talking to doctors and saying,
- 3:50Speaker 2: it's impossible that he just found out that he had
- 3:53Speaker 2: stage four cancer the day, you know that it became
- 3:57Speaker 2: super popular to talk about how how much covering up
- 4:01Speaker 2: that White House did. It's just not possible.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Can I read you something from Please's original sin that
- 4:07Speaker 1: Anthony la Mesa flagged And this to me is like
- 4:12Speaker 1: so incredibly damning, particularly coming as it does the week
- 4:16Speaker 1: of the prostate cancer diagnosis. This is about Bo. Bo's
- 4:22Speaker 1: cancer treatment also demonstrated the Biden's capacity for denial and
- 4:26Speaker 1: the links they would go to to avoid transparency about
- 4:29Speaker 1: health issues, even when the person in question is an
- 4:31Speaker 1: elected official, in this case, the sitting Attorney General of Delaware.
- 4:34Speaker 1: In summer twenty thirteen, Bo had surgery after collapsing during
- 4:38Speaker 1: a vacation and a stage four tumor was removed from
- 4:40Speaker 1: his brain. Bo then started to do fewer public appearances,
- 4:44Speaker 1: stopped doing like lengthy interviews, and appeared gaunt. Does any
- 4:47Speaker 1: of this sound familiar? Despite all this, the Bidens didn't
- 4:51Speaker 1: disclose anything, and in November twenty thirteen, Bo toted a
- 4:54Speaker 1: local reporter that he had a clean bill of health.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It goes on to say he would remain the sitting
- 4:59Speaker 1: Attorney general of Delaware. He flew all over the country,
- 5:03Speaker 1: presumably not doing his job during those periods of time
- 5:05Speaker 1: to have experimental treatments. The then vice president lied about
- 5:09Speaker 1: where he was, Yeah, when he would fly to meet him.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Bo's wife, Hallie was arguing this family, saying, I don't
- 5:17Speaker 1: understand why we can't disclose this. It doesn't seem right.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But let me just if they were willing to do this, yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: to hold on to the attorney general position in Delaware,
- 5:29Speaker 1: imagine what they were willing to do to hold on
- 5:31Speaker 1: to the presidency. Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a tell to tell.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we're just running the same play, and the media
- 5:39Speaker 1: was happy to run the play with them several times.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and that media was so fine with doing that.
- 5:48Speaker 2: They just thought this was their responsibility. To cover up
- 5:52Speaker 2: for Biden, and that's it. I believe we have a
- 5:56Speaker 2: clip to that effect.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yes, on News, Alex Thompson is talking to Leland Vintert
- 6:03Speaker 1: and he has this to say about some of the
- 6:04Speaker 1: Biden folks reaction to the media's reaction to their cover up.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Here we go. I think when you were reporting this,
- 6:12Speaker 1: did people in his inner circle? Did those that you
- 6:15Speaker 1: talked to acknowledge that the media were they surprised by
- 6:19Speaker 1: how complicit the media was.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It was interesting. I had one conversation with someone, this
- 6:23Speaker 3: was after the election while we were reporting this book,
- 6:27Speaker 3: and this person said, listen, yes, we deserve.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Blame for X y Z.
- 6:33Speaker 3: We were hiding him. We were, but this person also
- 6:36Speaker 3: sort of got my face and they said, listen, the
- 6:38Speaker 3: media deserves some blame too, Like we were sort of
- 6:42Speaker 3: amazed at some of the stuff we were able to spin. Again,
- 6:46Speaker 3: went on, they in some way bank Robert complaining safe, Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 3: they're just like you guys. You guys should not have
- 6:53Speaker 3: believed us so easily. And I thought that was like
- 6:55Speaker 3: a really interesting but I also think that's true. I
- 6:57Speaker 3: think I think the media in a lot of ways
- 7:02Speaker 3: just was not skeptical enough and did not remember the
- 7:05Speaker 3: lesson that they do it to different degrees, but every
- 7:08Speaker 3: White House lives.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the idea that you have to tell
- 7:13Speaker 1: the press that I mean, they know that they're just
- 7:17Speaker 1: willing to do the lying for the other side.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Else This is kind of a tangential issue, but it's
- 7:24Speaker 2: kind of amazing to me how the conservative media is
- 7:28Speaker 2: covering this book, because would the liberal media ever cover
- 7:33Speaker 2: one of our books in such a manner? Would they
- 7:37Speaker 2: give us interviews on all of their shows? Would they
- 7:40Speaker 2: allow us to tell our side of the story and
- 7:43Speaker 2: how we saw the time that we had gotten completely
- 7:46Speaker 2: wrong again, not Alex Thompson, but Jake Tapper for sure.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Well, it certainly wouldn't break it into the mainstream coverage.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Right, would there we talk of a Hollywood blockbuster about
- 7:56Speaker 2: one of these books. Obviously none of that would happen.
- 7:59Speaker 2: But it just the fact that conservatives do talk to
- 8:03Speaker 2: the liberals in a way that the liberals just do
- 8:05Speaker 2: not talk to conservatives.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Well, and I think Charles Cook was tweeting
- 8:10Speaker 1: today like, hey, you guys got all this wrong, and
- 8:13Speaker 1: the media's like yeah, and he's like, so the people
- 8:16Speaker 1: who got it right will get the book deals and
- 8:18Speaker 1: the movie deals and such, right, and they're like, oh no, no, no,
- 8:20Speaker 1: who's going to get those other people who got it?
- 8:24Speaker 1: Like that's that's how this, that's how this works. Unfortunately.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Can I note this new study about twenty twenty four's
- 8:33Speaker 1: demographic shifts and all of this that came out of Catalyst.
- 8:37Speaker 1: It's very detailed, but I just want to run through
- 8:39Speaker 1: because look, there should be like congressional hearings over this.
- 8:43Speaker 1: People should be punished, people should never work again in
- 8:46Speaker 1: politics or public service because of what they perpetrated in
- 8:49Speaker 1: the Biden White House. However, if we don't get that,
- 8:52Speaker 1: which I don't have a lot of confidence in, if
- 8:54Speaker 1: we don't get that, there's a cosmic pain that the
- 8:57Speaker 1: Democratic Party is suffering. And let me just read through
- 8:59Speaker 1: it for you. These are these subheads on the Amy
- 9:02Speaker 1: Walter piece in cook political report on this study of
- 9:09Speaker 1: what happened in twenty twenty four. Here they are, how
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't even need to go into the details. The Obama
- 9:15Speaker 1: coalition turned into the Trump coalition. Men, especially men of color,
- 9:20Speaker 1: shifted towards Republicans. Women didn't rally for Harris and Latina
- 9:25Speaker 1: women moved right younger voters, especially voters of color, shifted
- 9:32Speaker 1: right super voters. They're you know, older boomers were older,
- 9:36Speaker 1: less racially diverse, and less urban, and new voters were
- 9:41Speaker 1: the least democratic. Ever, every self conception they have of
- 9:46Speaker 1: what makes them cool and special and morally correct and
- 9:52Speaker 1: hip is obliterated by this election.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It's amazing. It's amazing, and there's very little self correction
- 10:00Speaker 2: going on. Like we're not going to get into immigration today,
- 10:03Speaker 2: but on immigration, which I think was Trump's top issue,
- 10:08Speaker 2: they are still defending illegal immigration, like as in, we
- 10:13Speaker 2: should stop kicking out illegal immigrants, we should not be
- 10:17Speaker 2: so hard on illegal immigrants. It's wild, like you just
- 10:21Speaker 2: lost everything on this issue. You're really going to continue
- 10:24Speaker 2: to push it.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, you're going to end up with a Trump coalition
- 10:27Speaker 1: that next time around. Still looks like I kid you
- 10:30Speaker 1: not from this report, fifty seven percent women and people
- 10:33Speaker 1: of color. Mm hm okay, yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Good luck with that. We'll be right back on normally.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Moving on. There's a couple of sort of transactivist stories
- 10:47Speaker 1: going on right now that I wanted to flag. The
- 10:49Speaker 1: first of it which made it to the Supreme Court,
- 10:52Speaker 1: which is that a main state representative Laurel Livy, who
- 10:55Speaker 1: spoke out on the floor of her state legislature about
- 11:00Speaker 1: the main government's insistence on defying Donald Trump's executive order
- 11:06Speaker 1: and putting men in women's sports in the state of Maine.
- 11:11Speaker 1: She spoke out about this on the floor. She was censured.
- 11:14Speaker 1: The way that they censured her in this state body
- 11:16Speaker 1: was to not allow her to speak on the floor
- 11:20Speaker 1: or to vote. She has constituents who currently are unrepresented.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yep, and nobody spoke to her. Everybody like gave her
- 11:27Speaker 2: the cold shoulder and like it's like, what are you
- 11:31Speaker 2: guys doing?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Like what is this? So she goes to a lower
- 11:34Speaker 1: court and says, hey, my people don't have representation right now.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This is a speech issue. This is a representation issue,
- 11:39Speaker 1: Like you can't do this. And lower Court's like, now,
- 11:41Speaker 1: we're not going to enjoin that. We'll get to it later.
- 11:45Speaker 1: She goes emergency to the Supreme Court. The emergency Court
- 11:49Speaker 1: the emergency docket agrees to see it seven to two
- 11:53Speaker 1: in favor of Laura Libby, who must be like re
- 11:57Speaker 1: put into her position for the moment. But what was
- 12:01Speaker 1: telling is that I'm sure you can guess who the
- 12:03Speaker 1: two dissenters were They were Jackson and so Tom I
- 12:08Speaker 1: Kagan on the right side of this. But what struck
- 12:10Speaker 1: me is that Jackson's descent is like, hey, you haven't
- 12:16Speaker 1: proved that this is an issue like your your speech.
- 12:20Speaker 1: First of all, I think it's icky. Second of all,
- 12:22Speaker 1: second all, they probably have a right to censure you,
- 12:26Speaker 1: censure you. And third, you haven't showed me that any
- 12:31Speaker 1: votes coming up are going to be decided by your vote.
- 12:34Speaker 1: So why do those people need representation? And why do
- 12:37Speaker 1: you need speech rights?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Why does anybody need representation? At that point, you only
- 12:42Speaker 2: need representation if you're the deciding vote. That's the only
- 12:45Speaker 2: time that you should vote. Yeah, wait a minute, I
- 12:49Speaker 2: think I like this.
- 12:50Speaker 1: No, it's it's wild to me that it had to
- 12:53Speaker 1: go to the Supreme Court. I'm glad to see seven
- 12:56Speaker 1: to two. It should have been nine to zero. What
- 13:00Speaker 1: when you is embarrassing when you see the descent and
- 13:03Speaker 1: you realize, oh, this is just she doesn't believe that Libby,
- 13:06Speaker 1: if she's saying icky things to her mind, has these rights.
- 13:12Speaker 1: These are not fundamental rights. This is like something else
- 13:15Speaker 1: that's something she objects to, and therefore that story.
- 13:19Speaker 2: The Libby story, it just it should give everyone pause
- 13:23Speaker 2: on both sides. But of course it doesn't. Again, it doesn't.
- 13:26Speaker 2: It's it's just the left protects themselves in a way
- 13:30Speaker 2: that I just don't think the right does. Again, if
- 13:33Speaker 2: the right did this, we would have a dozen think
- 13:37Speaker 2: pieces about how inappropriated it is to take away presentation
- 13:41Speaker 2: from voters, not allow somebody who you disagree with to speak.
- 13:45Speaker 1: People like you and I would be like, they can't
- 13:47Speaker 1: do that to.
- 13:47Speaker 2: This person, right, We would cover it on normally and
- 13:49Speaker 2: say this is wrong. It just it does not happen
- 13:53Speaker 2: in the same fashion on the left. It drives me crazy,
- 13:56Speaker 2: that double standard and the way that they just think
- 13:59Speaker 2: that everything that they do is correct and they don't
- 14:03Speaker 2: self police at all. Yeah really until they can get
- 14:07Speaker 2: a book deal out of it.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And part of that is because they're just results based,
- 14:10Speaker 1: which is what you see in this dissent from Jackson.
- 14:13Speaker 1: She's just like, well, I don't like this case. Right. Therefore,
- 14:17Speaker 1: another story out of Loudun County, which is near me,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and this is the famous one that there was a
- 14:23Speaker 1: huge story during the Younkin election that helped turn that
- 14:26Speaker 1: one about the inability of Louden County schools to protect
- 14:30Speaker 1: their own students and their lack of transparency about things
- 14:33Speaker 1: like sexual assault inside the schools. In this case, a
- 14:37Speaker 1: girl who identifies as a boy had access to a
- 14:42Speaker 1: male locker room and was in the male locker room
- 14:46Speaker 1: changing with teenage boys and filmed said teenage boys in
- 14:51Speaker 1: the locker room. The teenage boys objected to this, and
- 14:56Speaker 1: Louden County Schools is investigating the boys. Wild the boys
- 15:04Speaker 1: Latin County is so perfectly crazy it almost sounds fake
- 15:10Speaker 1: every time you hear one of these stories. It's absolutely real.
- 15:14Speaker 1: By the way, in that old story, they arrested the
- 15:16Speaker 1: dad of the assault victim because he had the temerity
- 15:20Speaker 1: to come to a school remaining and say, hey, you're
- 15:23Speaker 1: covering up the assault of my child. Yeah, they had
- 15:27Speaker 1: him arrested.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So just to tie those two stories together, Laura Libby
- 15:31Speaker 2: was censured because she posted a photo of a biologically
- 15:35Speaker 2: male athlete who had won the state championship in women's
- 15:39Speaker 2: pull vaulting, and it was that social media post that
- 15:43Speaker 2: got her censured and unable to vote or speak in
- 15:46Speaker 2: the main state house. Now, it's ironic that she was
- 15:52Speaker 2: not in a locker room, she was not taking pictures
- 15:55Speaker 2: that she wasn't allowed to be taking. She just posted
- 15:58Speaker 2: a picture of an athlete that she didn't feel belonged
- 16:01Speaker 2: in women's.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Which was a publicly available photo.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yes, right, yeah, but they considered it bullying and therefore
- 16:07Speaker 2: she was censured.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But this, I believe the phrase, by the way, is
- 16:10Speaker 1: endangering a minor is what she did. M right? Yeah, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 1: young young boys being filmed in a locker room by
- 16:19Speaker 1: a person of the opposite sex, So they don't get privacy, right,
- 16:23Speaker 1: they don't get to object to that, to that, And
- 16:25Speaker 1: that's that's the thing about so much of the transactivism
- 16:28Speaker 1: is that if you don't go straight from having your
- 16:32Speaker 1: comfort zone violated, celebrating having your right zone violated, or
- 16:37Speaker 1: having your metal taken from you, they're like, aha, I
- 16:40Speaker 1: think we need an investigation of this.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I'll also say that it's interesting because a lot
- 16:46Speaker 2: of the times it's girl spaces that are violated in
- 16:49Speaker 2: this manner. It's pretty rare that it's boy spaces. You know,
- 16:53Speaker 2: if a biological girl wants to play in boy sports,
- 16:56Speaker 2: go for it. You know, it's not really lug Yeah, yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 2: good luck with that. But this is interesting because it
- 17:05Speaker 2: shows it really does affect kids of both sexes, and
- 17:10Speaker 2: it's should just be something that we understand to NOTPU allowed.
- 17:16Speaker 1: One more story on this front, just so that everybody
- 17:18Speaker 1: knows about it, because Colorado is also sort of perfectly
- 17:20Speaker 1: crazy and casting itself in this role. Lately, Colorado's state
- 17:24Speaker 1: government pasted a rule that misgendering your child or not
- 17:30Speaker 1: supporting your child in a transition will be used as
- 17:33Speaker 1: part of custody discussions and it will be considered a
- 17:38Speaker 1: harm that you're doing to your child potentially and would
- 17:41Speaker 1: change the way that custody disputes are resolved. This is insane.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It's obviously a speech issue because the government can't say
- 17:49Speaker 1: that you can't call your kid a sheet. By the way,
- 17:53Speaker 1: I also love that the government makes you turn in
- 17:54Speaker 1: a birth certificate where you choose all these things, and
- 17:56Speaker 1: they're like, you can't use that dead name that you
- 17:58Speaker 1: turned into us. That we mate the documentation and last
- 18:02Speaker 1: fifteen years. Anyway, parents defending freedom are defending education board. Yep,
- 18:08Speaker 1: thank you very much for all your work. Great organization
- 18:11Speaker 1: is suing over that as a speech issue, and so
- 18:15Speaker 1: hopefully the parents of Colorado will no longer have to
- 18:18Speaker 1: live in such fear. After you guys take care of that.
- 18:22Speaker 1: But it's an insane idea.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Nicki Neely is the president of Defending Education. And if
- 18:30Speaker 2: you are doing bad things in your state and you
- 18:33Speaker 2: see Nicki Neely coming, run run. She is unstoppable.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Queen lawsuit, Queen's communications, Queen. She will think she sleeps.
- 18:44Speaker 2: She just works all the time. When we have our
- 18:46Speaker 2: board meetings, it's like we're all just like, what you
- 18:50Speaker 2: did all that?
- 18:50Speaker 1: And then she'll be like in Rome homeschooling and You're like, wow,
- 18:54Speaker 1: how did that happen?
- 18:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:57Speaker 1: So I appreciate that very much, and I think it
- 18:59Speaker 1: will do the parents of Colorado a lot of good
- 19:01Speaker 1: to have her on the case.
- 19:02Speaker 2: We're going to take a short break and come right
- 19:04Speaker 2: back with normally.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Do we want to do a little sports before we
- 19:10Speaker 1: close out? You know?
- 19:11Speaker 2: And I want to say about our third topic. We
- 19:13Speaker 2: try to make the third topic a little lighter and
- 19:15Speaker 2: Earlier today I heard a story about how some the
- 19:19Speaker 2: Washingtonian magazine has a story about Republican female makeup and
- 19:23Speaker 2: how we all look the same. We're skipping that story
- 19:26Speaker 2: to bring you a football story. Okay, that is how
- 19:30Speaker 2: much we want to be representative of all of our audience.
- 19:34Speaker 2: We don't want to just focus on fashion and beauty.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I mean I do, but apparently we can.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So well apparently the NFL. And so the Olympics is
- 19:44Speaker 1: going to have flag football in twenty twenty eight, and
- 19:48Speaker 1: the NFL has said that NFL players can play in
- 19:55Speaker 1: the Olympics on a flag football team. That's incredible for
- 19:59Speaker 1: the United States. This is going to be amazing. Yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: because for NFL players, it's just the strongest, toughest people
- 20:11Speaker 1: in the world who regularly do this as a warm up,
- 20:17Speaker 1: doing it in competition for gold medals, like I am
- 20:20Speaker 1: so here for it. And because it's flag football, we
- 20:22Speaker 1: won't be actually, you know, laying out or hurting any
- 20:27Speaker 1: European footballers who have decided to play the real football. Instead,
- 20:33Speaker 1: we'll just be running circles around them. Can you imagine
- 20:35Speaker 1: these people blinding up against white outs from the NFL.
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's going to be amazing. It's like a Slovakian like
- 20:40Speaker 2: plumber who plays flag football on the weekend.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Or like the Australian breakdancer. She's going to show up
- 20:46Speaker 1: and be like I will stop you, Xavir Leggott, No,
- 20:51Speaker 1: you will not.
- 20:51Speaker 2: It's like that when the NBA Dream Team played in
- 20:54Speaker 2: the Olympics and it was like completely unstoppable and just yeah,
- 20:59Speaker 2: it's our Sorry.
- 21:01Speaker 1: It's just going to be easier than they're warm up right.
- 21:04Speaker 1: See now, Now, if this goes wrong somehow horribly, yes,
- 21:08Speaker 1: we can come back to this clip and I will
- 21:10Speaker 1: write a best selling book about how I was wrong
- 21:12Speaker 1: about I love it.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so you know, I'm also I'm Russian, so this jinxing.
- 21:20Speaker 2: You know, we can't be called the fairpoint. We have
- 21:23Speaker 2: to touch wood and like spit spit, Okay.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I will do that, but flag football, come on. Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 2: In other football news, the tush push is going to
- 21:32Speaker 2: be allowed. Apparently the NFL was considering banning the tush push,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and uh, you know, I I'm minorly interested in sports.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So when my my amazing neighbors Dana and Adam texted
- 21:47Speaker 2: my husband and I with the words tush push for
- 21:50Speaker 2: the wind, I had.
- 21:51Speaker 1: No idea what was going on. You actually just thought
- 21:54Speaker 1: they were swingers all of a sudden or something like,
- 21:56Speaker 1: what's happening.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Anyone pushing any tissues?
- 22:00Speaker 1: No, I'm excited about that. I said, it's a legit move.
- 22:02Speaker 1: If you're not strong enough to make it work, it's
- 22:04Speaker 1: not going to work. These guys are hitting the gym.
- 22:05Speaker 1: They can make the toush push work.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Go for it, right, I'm pro tush push.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Why not? There we go? Now you have it?
- 22:15Speaker 2: Do we have another sports angle? Is Bill Belichick engaged?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Oh? Yes? One last quick update. Apparently apparently he got
- 22:28Speaker 1: his boat got a new paint job, which fueled engagement
- 22:31Speaker 1: rumors because it talked about how many rings he had
- 22:35Speaker 1: and it was there was an extra one involved.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, interesting because I only saw the headline and
- 22:41Speaker 2: I'm like, I guess he painted his boat for her.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I mean, that would be a very clever way to
- 22:46Speaker 1: debut and engagement if I'm really honest.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Right, it's his girlfriend's in her twenties and that's a
- 22:52Speaker 2: very instagrammy.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Look. As long as she's not running the football programs, yeah,
- 22:58Speaker 1: I'm fine with it. Then the problem seems to be
- 23:00Speaker 1: that she might be running them football right.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Hopefully that's not going to be the case. Best of luck,
- 23:06Speaker 2: you know, to them both. We're not haters over here
- 23:10Speaker 2: on normally.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Good luck to you guys.
