- 0:59I just, I want you to show up. I hope you'll meet me there
- 1:03today. I have with me the founder of
- 1:06Mom Q, Candace Nassar. She is a very good friend of
- 1:10mine and has a heart for moms to grow in God's word.
- 1:14Mom Q is a ministry designed to support Christian moms in every
- 1:19area of their lives. After moving to Austin in 2012,
- 1:24she spent a decade teaching middle and high school students,
- 1:28including my own oldest son, Nathan, who took her accounting
- 1:32class. And I have to say, because of
- 1:35her, he absolutely fell in love with accounting and is now a
- 1:39successful accountant at EY. And so during the end of her
- 1:43teaching career, she had felt this call of God to step into
- 1:49full time ministry her to establish mom cue and mentoring
- 1:54and discipleship ministry that empowers moms to discover their
- 1:58God-given purpose and to build strong, faithful families.
- 2:03Of all the roles she has held, she said she believes that being
- 2:08a wife and mother is both the most rewarding and the most
- 2:12challenging. I agree.
- 2:15Amen to that. Candace is so passionate about
- 2:19equipping and encouraging moms and helps women grow in
- 2:22confidence and embrace their divine calling.
- 2:25And so if this sounds like something you want to join in
- 2:28your own community, look for the links below and the show notes.
- 2:32And she would love to chat with you.
- 2:34Hi Candace, welcome to She Speaks with Life.
- 2:37I am so happy you are here, my good friend.
- 2:41Coming on the podcast, this is going to be so fun.
- 2:44I am so excited. Thank you so much, Jamie.
- 2:46I'm trying to think when we first met, but this is it's been
- 2:51years now and you are very impressive with everything that
- 2:58I have seen you do. When I first met you, you were
- 3:02my son's accounting teacher and then I know God had crossed our
- 3:07paths numerous times and we bumped into each other in Target
- 3:11and you are sharing how you had retired from teaching and now
- 3:17doing the Mom Q ministry. You are the founder of Mom Cue
- 3:22Ministry, which is biblical wisdom and support for Christian
- 3:25moms. And I absolutely love it and so
- 3:30glad that you said yes to God to walk into this journey and we
- 3:35get to talk all about it. But before we do, I would love
- 3:39for you to share what is your favorite scripture verse and
- 3:42why? Because I know we can find out
- 3:44so much about our guests just by asking that one question.
- 3:47That is such a good question. And you know what?
- 3:50It's so hard to come come up with an answer to that question
- 3:52because there are so, so many scripture verses that God has
- 3:56used throughout my life. But I would have to go back to
- 3:59the verse that He gave me when I was baptized as a 34 year old
- 4:05long time ago, and that is Proverbs 3, five and six.
- 4:10Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
- 4:13understanding, but in all your ways.
- 4:16Submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.
- 4:20And that has really been my life verse because I have always
- 4:24struggled with being trying to control everything.
- 4:28And I know so often I talk to so many moms and we all struggle
- 4:32with that and we want to control our husbands.
- 4:34We want to control our kids lives and their their successes
- 4:38and their failures and, and just even our own pain.
- 4:41Just everything the Lord has shown me over the years that he
- 4:45is trustworthy, he is faithful and I don't have to worry.
- 4:49I can surrender it all to, but let me tell you, I try to take
- 4:52it back a lot So so it is a constant process, but that verse
- 4:56has always, always ministered to me and I'm just so thankful.
- 5:01So good and I love that scripture verse too.
- 5:03It's one of my favorites. And, and you're right, that is a
- 5:06hard one to just leave at the feet of Jesus and not take it
- 5:11back. And just knowing that he's got
- 5:15our best and he's got something even better than we can imagine
- 5:20and that we just need to keep feeding ourselves with Scripture
- 5:24verses that tell us such as that.
- 5:26I know that that's a hard one to just be in obedience to every
- 5:32single day. So such a good spiritual truth
- 5:36there. And so let's just begin with
- 5:39your testimony. When did you find Christ?
- 5:43When did you accept them into your life?
- 5:46And just a brief overview of your faith journey.
- 5:50Yeah, I'm so excited to to share that because it actually leads
- 5:54right up to why I started Mom Q. And so I was a lost, struggling,
- 5:59and lonely young mom. I did not have a good role
- 6:02model. I had no idea how to be a wife
- 6:04and a mother. I I was seeking God, but I'd
- 6:06never really read the Bible. I tried to read it when I was a
- 6:10young teen and it made no sense. But I was in a neighborhood in
- 6:14Dallas, TX. I had a 19 year old daughter who
- 6:17was extremely strong willed and I felt like matter of fact my
- 6:21stepmother had purchased her T-shirt that said I may be too,
- 6:24but I run the house and and. That was the truth.
- 6:29And and so and so I was like, OK, I need help.
- 6:33We were new to this area in Dallas and I saw a neighborhood
- 6:37newsletter that advertised a Bible study for young moms,
- 6:40child care provided. And I was like, you know what,
- 6:44first of all, they, they had me at childcare provided, right?
- 6:46Because that just sounded incredible in those days.
- 6:49My husband traveled a lot and it just was, you know, a godsend.
- 6:53And, and I was curious. I was curious and little did I
- 6:56know that the Lord was drawing me.
- 6:57The Holy Spirit was drawing me in.
- 6:59But I went and they happened to be studying the book of John and
- 7:03I read that Jesus came and died for me.
- 7:06And I really never knew that. I never knew that I could have a
- 7:09personal relationship with him. I never knew that I was a
- 7:13Sinner, which I'm so prideful now, but I thought of sin as
- 7:18those really big things like adultery, murder, that kind of
- 7:21thing. And I didn't do that.
- 7:23How could I be a Sinner? But the leaders actually pulled
- 7:26me. I mean, we, we had lots of time,
- 7:29one-on-one, and they just poured into me and discipled me.
- 7:31And I'll never forget it was a day I'd had lunch with one of
- 7:35the leaders. And she said, I said, well, I
- 7:37just don't think I'm a Sinner. And she said, well, let me ask
- 7:40you this. Have you ever yelled at your
- 7:42husband? Have you ever been selfish?
- 7:44Have you ever gossiped? And when she said all those
- 7:46things, I was like, Oh, my gosh, yes.
- 7:49And so that was when I realized that I needed a Savior.
- 7:52And I literally pulled over to the side of the road on my drive
- 7:55home from that lunch and prayed to receive Jesus.
- 7:58And my life has never been the same.
- 8:00Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:01I love. It and my husband eventually
- 8:03came to the Lord and then we raised all three of our kids in
- 8:06the faith in the church and they all still walk with Jesus.
- 8:08So it's it was generational impact those ladies had on my
- 8:12life and I've never forgotten it and I always wanted to pay that
- 8:16forward. That's so good.
- 8:18And that's so similar to my story of #1 the women's Bible
- 8:24study had babysitting, had daycare, they go into their own
- 8:28Sunday school, and #2 it was curiosity.
- 8:31It was the same thing as you. And that's where I found my
- 8:34personal relationship with the Lord, even though I accepted
- 8:37Jesus at such a young age at 5, but really didn't know, you
- 8:42know, what the foundations were really understanding it.
- 8:46And so I can totally relate to that testimony that you just
- 8:51shared. And so so so let's take you to,
- 8:56you know, you're accounting teacher for my son Nathan, and
- 9:01you're such an excellent teacher.
- 9:03You are his absolute favorite. And I know you guys still have a
- 9:08friendship there, which is so cool because now that Ernst and
- 9:12Young is an accountant. So you were you're the teacher
- 9:16that made that light bulb go on for him.
- 9:19And that's the greatest privilege a teacher could ever
- 9:22ask for. Yeah, I'm sure.
- 9:25I can just imagine. And so you had retired from
- 9:30teaching and then So what brought you on to be the founder
- 9:36of Mom? Q Where did you know share that
- 9:39testimony? Where did that?
- 9:40I know it came from the Lord, but how did it kind of hold?
- 9:44So as I was teaching, this was after, during and after COVID, I
- 9:49just start, I saw such a change in the young in the youth and
- 9:53the, my students and the level of anxiety and depression.
- 9:56And I talked to so many moms that were just so upset, so
- 10:01worried for their kids and they didn't know how to help them.
- 10:03And I was longing to share the gospel And I just was like, I
- 10:07want to help these moms. There's something, there's got
- 10:09to be something I can do. I would like to get into the
- 10:12family somehow. And I just started praying and I
- 10:15felt God leading me to to start a moms group and do what had
- 10:20been done for me. And as I began to look into
- 10:24different things that were out there, curriculums and other
- 10:27options, I couldn't find anything that gave me the vision
- 10:31that he had given me and that that was a really discipleship,
- 10:34which again, what was done for me.
- 10:36And so I, I just began to really pray and I was, I had no idea
- 10:41what the Lord was calling me to do.
- 10:42And then I had created a course as a teacher.
- 10:46I had created a course for our school district in finance and I
- 10:50just felt him saying, you can do this, you can create what you're
- 10:54looking for, what I've given you the heart for.
- 10:57And I was very petrified and had no idea how that would come
- 11:01about. It was one of those, hey, Lord,
- 11:03if that's what you're telling me to do, then that's what I'm
- 11:06going to try to do. And so I assembled some advisors
- 11:09from my church that I really respected in women's ministry
- 11:12and a children's director as well.
- 11:14And we started brainstorming and it came from.
- 11:17So the curriculum that we have all comes directly from what I
- 11:22experienced, the questions that I had as a young mom, topics
- 11:26about everything from how do I forgive people and how do I live
- 11:31in the Holy Spirit. I mean, we start off we we just
- 11:34talk about identity, how our identity is in Christ and trying
- 11:36to understand how as our society, we find our identity
- 11:40and all the wrong things. And just just that growth that I
- 11:45hope that when I know we're going to talk about in a little
- 11:47bit, but just trying to get moms from the beginning to a passion
- 11:53for Jesus. And maybe they already have a
- 11:54passion for Jesus, but we want it to grow even farther.
- 11:57And so that's that's how it came about.
- 12:00Yeah, I love that. And it's so crucial in those
- 12:05times because, I mean, you are just being stretched, you're
- 12:09being tested when you're a mom with young kids and you need
- 12:14that community, but you also need that biblical truth on how
- 12:19to parent well and just feeding yourself so that you are a
- 12:24better mom, a better wife, feeding yourself with the word.
- 12:28And so Speaking of that, what do you encourage these moms to
- 12:33cultivate that spiritual maturity to just get them to
- 12:38really take it in that, you know, you can be stronger as a
- 12:44mom and you know, can can do the daily things that is required
- 12:50when you are raising up young kids.
- 12:52You can do it well. How do you encourage them?
- 12:55Well, you're exactly right. I mean, it is it's a time when
- 12:58you feel so desperate and you can feel really alone, right and
- 13:02lost. And so it's the perfect time to
- 13:05reach into these moms life and we approach them holistically.
- 13:09And I think that's, you know, that's what you're getting at is
- 13:12we do parent, we talk about parenting.
- 13:14We actually have a whole series on biblical parenting, but we
- 13:17also talk about marriage and self-care because all those
- 13:22things. It's the holistic mom that you
- 13:25know God, he wants us all. He wants our whole heart.
- 13:27And so when we can help them see, you know, the taste and see
- 13:32that the Lord is good, when we can help them see that by
- 13:34leaning into him and developing that relationship with him,
- 13:39that's where our completion is going to come from, right?
- 13:43We're going to find the strength, we're going to find
- 13:45the rest. We're going to find the peace
- 13:47and we can only find it in him. And we're going to be better
- 13:50moms and we're going to be better wise.
- 13:52And so that's what we do. It really comes down to it.
- 13:55We talk a lot about the importance of being in the word
- 13:58and being in prayer. And we we have a teaching team
- 14:01and we share our own struggles that we had as well as today.
- 14:05I mean, let's face it, we're all still growing spiritually and
- 14:09we're going to do that until we are in the arms of Jesus.
- 14:12Really. I mean, we should be.
- 14:14And, and so that's really it's, it's a, it's a, it's a
- 14:18presentation that there is no better place to be than in the
- 14:23presence of the Lord. And when you do that and make
- 14:26that a discipline, then you can be the wife and mom he wants you
- 14:30to be. Yeah, that's so good.
- 14:32I mean, I'm a living testimony of that.
- 14:36You know, when I started those Bible study groups, I started a
- 14:41mom group and then I graduated out of that into a Bible study
- 14:45group once my kids got older. Just feeding yourself with God's
- 14:51truth. I just remember the mornings
- 14:54that I slept in got lazy, you know, missed it.
- 14:58And my goodness, it was just and and I think any mom listening
- 15:04with young kids can testify to this.
- 15:06Like they really test you. I mean, you get a little short
- 15:09temper. You know your patience is
- 15:11stretched then, and you know you need to feed yourself God's Word
- 15:16and to take your conversations to Him on a daily basis to
- 15:22receive that peace. For you.
- 15:25Know when those times come so that you can temper yourself and
- 15:31respond with patience and peace with your kids and respond with
- 15:36how Jesus would want you to respond, not your carnal flesh.
- 15:40Yeah. And you and you know, the other
- 15:42thing that we really talk about is, and I think this is what
- 15:45moms struggle with probably more today than anything is how to
- 15:48deal with mom guilt. And we see that that they don't
- 15:54know how to have compassion for themselves.
- 15:56And so we are going to make mistakes.
- 15:58You know, we're going to have those days where we fall down
- 16:01and treat our kids or our husbands poorly.
- 16:04But the key is knowing that we can confess that and we can make
- 16:08it right and how to do that and how to move on from that so that
- 16:12Satan doesn't continue to, you know, make us we don't want to
- 16:16live in shame, right? It's thing to have that guilt
- 16:19and confess it. That's another to live in shame.
- 16:21And so those are also some of the things we talk about and
- 16:23just empowering. I mean that really that's our
- 16:25mission statement that we empower moms to find their
- 16:28God-given purpose and build strong faith filled families.
- 16:31And so that's what that's everything we do is about.
- 16:33That so good. Yeah.
- 16:35That's a key point that you just brought up because identifying
- 16:40that the guilt and the shame, we know that's not from the Lord
- 16:45and it's the enemy that wants us to feel that way.
- 16:48And then that that guilt and shame just keeps you on that
- 16:52cycle. So I love that you point that
- 16:55out, that if we can identify it, it's just to be encouraged to
- 17:01change our ways, to repent and to understand like, yeah, I made
- 17:05a mistake. I'm sorry.
- 17:07We identified it, apologized and huge.
- 17:11It is huge. And I think, you know, over the
- 17:15years, remembering raising my kids up, it's like those times
- 17:19that I said sorry. There's so much respect in that.
- 17:23It's like the devil, the enemy wants you to feel like you're
- 17:27going to show you're weak, you're going to, you know, show
- 17:31like you're not a good mom to your kids.
- 17:33If you apologize. It's actually quite the
- 17:36opposite. When I said I'm sorry, my kids
- 17:40felt so respected and had so much respect for me.
- 17:44And it, it, it just spoke volumes to be able to say, hey,
- 17:51you know, because they want to see that you're real, you're a
- 17:54mom. They look at you as the
- 17:56authority, as the role model and they should.
- 17:59And to see the humanness side of you of saying, hey, I messed up.
- 18:06I'm so sorry. That just makes them even more,
- 18:10I don't know, closer to you. There's a bond there.
- 18:13Makes it even more. You're a real person, not just,
- 18:16you know, this disciplinary person in my life.
- 18:20Absolutely. I could not agree more.
- 18:22I mean, many, many times I've apologized to my kids and and
- 18:26I'm they're all grown and adults and I'm having a grandbaby like
- 18:30you soon. I'm still apologizing to my
- 18:34adult children to this day and like especially it's it's hard
- 18:38as empty nesters and we transition.
- 18:41I know your listeners are come from all different stages of
- 18:44life, but parenting adults is really hard too.
- 18:47And but my relationship with my kids is so strong.
- 18:52They call me, I mean, I, my two sons, not as much, but my
- 18:55daughter calls me almost every day.
- 18:57And, and we're always talking with the boys and it's just,
- 19:00it's super precious. And I think that you're right.
- 19:02You had mentioned the word respect.
- 19:03And I think that when we can handle things biblically and
- 19:08model exactly what Jesus did as much as possible, we're going to
- 19:12mess up. But when we can do those things,
- 19:15they're going to see that faith being real and alive and not
- 19:20hypocritical and deterging and debunk, you know, whatever all
- 19:24those words are that's happening today.
- 19:25So. Yeah, deconstructing.
- 19:28Yeah, agree. OK.
- 19:30So part of Mom Q is your mentorship program that's
- 19:35integrated in the community, in the videos, in the curriculum as
- 19:43you guys meet. I believe you have a mentor mom
- 19:46at every table, which is so amazing.
- 19:49I remember I had that also. And it's just so good to have
- 19:53somebody who has gone before you and it's seasoned and can tell
- 19:59you what they experienced or what didn't work for them or
- 20:04this is, you know the right way or this is the way I wish I
- 20:07would have done things. So share more on what Mom Q
- 20:11offers and that. Yeah.
- 20:13So that that was because those women discipled me.
- 20:16That was a key thing that I wanted to build in is is an
- 20:19older mom. It's a step or, you know,
- 20:21however many years ahead. And we also have a Co, we have a
- 20:24Co leader model. So there's always, we're always
- 20:27trying to raise up leaders. But the mentor mom is really
- 20:31going to build personal relationships with each member
- 20:34of their group. And then the group also is
- 20:37building personal relationships within it.
- 20:39So community is the goal, authentic, connected community
- 20:44where you're seeing, where there's a message you're being
- 20:48poured into with the word, and then the bulk of the time is in
- 20:51the groups where you're sharing. We encourage authenticity in a
- 20:56big way. We want moms to really open up
- 20:59about their struggles and their victories because it's really,
- 21:02it's in the struggles, hearing other people's struggles and how
- 21:05they came through it. That's where we can really see
- 21:08the power of Jesus, right? So yes, so we have and, and it's
- 21:12really based on Titus 2-3 and five where older women are
- 21:16instructed to teach and encourage younger women and
- 21:20godliness. And really that's not optional.
- 21:23It's something that, you know, and this verse gives us 2
- 21:26perspectives, right? That we as older moms, it's a
- 21:30biblical model for us to pour into the younger generation.
- 21:35It's also showing that the younger generation is, well,
- 21:39they have something to teach us always, but that they can be
- 21:44open to that and they need that kind of thing because we, if
- 21:48they're, I, I've often had moms tell me, you know, I've been in
- 21:50groups where it's just, we're all the same age and we're
- 21:53trying to lead each other in Bible study and they get stuck
- 21:56in the same thinking, right? And it, and because they don't
- 21:59have that wisdom and experience. So, so that really is to have an
- 22:03older mom that has that heart to just love and encourage and
- 22:09support. There's no judgment.
- 22:11I mean, that's a huge thing that we we instill is we don't want
- 22:15to judge each other because we're all at different places in
- 22:19our walk and different places in our growth of spiritual
- 22:21maturity, but we want to support each other.
- 22:24And so that's what the mentor is there to do, is to guide and
- 22:27facilitate and help the moms to just see that really that love
- 22:33in that community is what's going to take them through
- 22:36whatever it is they're going through, help a ton.
- 22:40I love that you brought up the no judgment rule because there's
- 22:45so much of that going on. I mean, even just hearing these
- 22:50young moms judging each other how they're going to deliver
- 22:53their baby, you know, if they're like pro at home, you know, or
- 22:58pro hospital, it's like there's two different sides to how
- 23:02you're even going to deliver a baby.
- 23:04I mean, that's how it I think can begin and start is just what
- 23:09are you choosing and then judging each other based on what
- 23:13you're choosing depending on what you believe is good.
- 23:17And so it's just, yeah, it is funny to hear this.
- 23:22Yeah, well, we, we try to, we try to encourage them that we,
- 23:26we don't have to be right. You know, we can have different
- 23:29opinions and different perspectives, and really it all
- 23:32comes back to what is truth, what is biblical.
- 23:35If it's not something that's biblically mandated, then you
- 23:39can have your opinion. We're not, you know, we're going
- 23:41to just continue to love each other.
- 23:42And one of our motto, one of our values is to bear one another's
- 23:45burdens, prepare meals, we visit, take care of the kids.
- 23:50We do, you know, whatever we need to be doing to bear each
- 23:53other's burdens. And, and just it's love.
- 23:55It is all about loving each other.
- 23:58And we, if we're judging each other and we're comparing too, I
- 24:01mean, that's another thing that moms do so often, especially
- 24:05because of social media, is we look and we think, oh, well, she
- 24:09has it better or that why can't I be like that?
- 24:12Just reminding them that, you know, God created every one of
- 24:15us, very unique, very special. We are fearfully and wonderfully
- 24:19made. And we don't need to compare
- 24:22ourselves to others because God has the standard.
- 24:25He's the only one we compare ourselves to.
- 24:27And he is there ready to forgive us and be compassionate to us no
- 24:31matter what we've done. So we don't need to live, you
- 24:35know, in that kind of bondage. And so all of those things are
- 24:38part of an older, wiser mom because at my age, I'm not doing
- 24:43that so much anymore. I'm not, I'm not trolling and
- 24:47looking and thinking, I wish I had this or that.
- 24:50I mean, the God has done a lot of work in me, right?
- 24:52That's part of been part of my journey.
- 24:54But but yeah, we it's, it's no matter where you are in your
- 24:57faith, you can learn from someone and you can also pour
- 25:00into someone else. And so that's being a mentor
- 25:02pours into you being the mentee you're receiving that.
- 25:06And then you can pour into others at some point, just like
- 25:09it. It's been done for me.
- 25:11Yeah, that's right. I love it.
- 25:13It just keeps going. Yeah, it's, it's really, it's,
- 25:17it's generational impact. It really it that's what it is.
- 25:19So yeah, cuz I shared how that's how you know my whole stories.
- 25:24Yeah. Real quick, what do you think
- 25:26would be the biggest struggle these moms are going through
- 25:31that you see? Yeah, well, I shared earlier mom
- 25:34guilt. I think the other one would just
- 25:37be the a lot of people are struggling in their marriages.
- 25:41I see that so, so common because the world, the culture, it just
- 25:45it lies to us. You know, it tells us that you
- 25:48deserve that. If you're not being treated a
- 25:51certain way or certain things aren't happening that you know,
- 25:55you can look at some, you know that there's options and, and
- 25:58it's just, I think I think we don't understand today that.
- 26:03And one of our favorite sayings is based on Gary Thomas's book
- 26:06the sacred marriage is marriage is to make us holy, not happy.
- 26:11And so we we do, we have several Siri not serious modules,
- 26:17lessons about marriage and a lot of conversation, But we also try
- 26:21to be very sensitive to the single mom or even the widow.
- 26:26There are young moms that are widows and we, we also want to
- 26:30make it clear that you don't have to be married to have
- 26:34peace, that God can be your father.
- 26:36But but certainly marriage is a part of a sanctification.
- 26:40And we try to encourage them to handle things in a biblical,
- 26:44godly way. And it, it's, it's life
- 26:46changing. I mean, we have seen so much
- 26:48life change. Yeah, so good.
- 26:51Well, I know you've got numerous testimonies because you put on a
- 26:55yearly, you know, mom cue annual celebration.
- 26:59And I know you've brought up some testimonials of what it's
- 27:03done. And then through moms and I
- 27:06think one of them mentioned her marriage.
- 27:09And, you know, because it's not just the mom, you know, two
- 27:12people have the baby right here, right?
- 27:14And so and so, you know, just like the importance of a mother,
- 27:18so is the father. And so we can take a toll on
- 27:23your on your marriage if you're not standing on a firm
- 27:27foundation. And otherwise you're just going
- 27:30to be the house on the sand and it's going to be shaky.
- 27:34Yeah. And the.
- 27:34The other thing I didn't I, I should have mentioned too is
- 27:37just isolation. We, we see moms and that's a
- 27:41that's a epidemic in our whole culture and society in our
- 27:44country is, is isolation and loneliness.
- 27:47And so that's one of the things that we stress is that when
- 27:51you're in community, when you're supporting each other, that you
- 27:55have that it's a it's something that God designed us for.
- 28:00We are designed for relationships.
- 28:02And if we're isolating ourselves and thinking we can do it by
- 28:05ourselves, that we don't need church, we don't need others,
- 28:08that is going to, I mean, honestly, that's what when Satan
- 28:11can get us isolated alone, that's when he attacks.
- 28:14So we we really, so we want that's part of our whole design
- 28:18is this community support, the mentors, the teaching and it all
- 28:23comes together in the secret sauce.
- 28:25Really. That just is life changing.
- 28:27And you talked about the, the fundraiser and the testimonials
- 28:31that we get. I've had so many husbands come
- 28:33up to me and say, you know, my wife when she comes home and I
- 28:38know she's been to mom. Q She's just a nicer person or
- 28:42you know. Or or they're talking.
- 28:45About it at home, you know, or the husband will say, what did
- 28:48you learn today at Mom Q You know, so and so it's a beautiful
- 28:52thing for the family. It's so good because like Mom Q
- 28:56is tackling all arenas, every aspect of your life.
- 29:01I mean, you're bringing in God's word, you're tackling some
- 29:04topics that everyone's going through, struggling, and then
- 29:08coming together as a community for that support.
- 29:11Oh, I mean, every mom is just getting so filled up.
- 29:15And when we can get filled up like you're saying, then it's so
- 29:19much easier for us to respond out that overflow and pour out.
- 29:24Yes. And our guests, it's critical.
- 29:27It's critical. I mean, again, God designed us
- 29:29for relationships and we need to be in each other's lives and we
- 29:33need to have accountability and truth tellers and all those
- 29:36things. And that's how we grow, and
- 29:38that's how we are able to be the wife and mother God wants us to
- 29:42be. That's right, OK, at the end I
- 29:45love for my guest here for you to share a take away, something
- 29:50that the listener can ponder on or take action in.
- 29:52So I would say, well, I kind of came up with a verse and I think
- 29:57that it encapsulates a lot of what we've talked today.
- 29:59And that is Colossians 128 through 29 where Paul is talking
- 30:04to the church at Colossae and he says him we proclaim warning
- 30:09everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom that we may
- 30:12present everyone one mature in Christ for this I toil
- 30:16struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within
- 30:20me. I feel like this verse just it
- 30:22speaks to the importance of us growing spiritually, becoming
- 30:26more like Christ and also the effort that we need to put out
- 30:30to help others grow in spiritual maturity.
- 30:33And so I would just really encourage moms to think about
- 30:37what it is that you can do to take your next step to grow in
- 30:41Jesus and to become more Christ like, whatever that is.
- 30:44I mean, there's there's spiritual disciplines, there's
- 30:47lots of books that can help you with that, whether it is getting
- 30:50more into the word or spending more time in prayer or silence
- 30:54and solitude. Those are things that I know it
- 30:57seems really hard for a mom. But again, it's filling our cup.
- 31:02And when we can sit with God and just allow him to pour into us,
- 31:06that is another level of regeneration and and rest.
- 31:12So all those spiritual disciplines, journaling, I know
- 31:14you have a beautiful journal, Jamie.
- 31:17And so all of those things, those spiritual disciplines are
- 31:20important steps and habits really that we need to practice
- 31:23in, in our Christian life. And so that's what I would
- 31:26encourage. It's just a take away is to
- 31:28think what's your next step? Whatever it is that you need to
- 31:30do, pray about it. Ask God to show you what that
- 31:33is, what, what's maybe a discipline you can add.
- 31:36Maybe you need community, maybe you need to seek out mentorship,
- 31:40or maybe you need to become a mentor.
- 31:43And that is something that Mom Q can certainly help with.
- 31:46So because I know a lot of moms get to a certain age when their
- 31:49kids are gone and they're like, OK, well, I don't have a purpose
- 31:52now. Well, yes, you do.
- 31:54You do have a God-given purpose and that's supporting to the
- 31:57younger generation. So, so yeah, that's that's what
- 32:00I would say. So good, yes, sign up for mom Q
- 32:03whether you're a mom with littles or you are just in that
- 32:07stage where you've got grown-ups now and like you said, you could
- 32:12be a mentor for somebody else. And so how do they get involved?
- 32:16How can they, you know, whether it's starting their own group
- 32:21themselves or getting the church to do a group?
- 32:26Yeah. What do you have there?
- 32:27So on our website, weactuallyhaveacontactpageso@momq.org

- 33:20for you. Yeah, because there's videos and
- 33:23you can hold one at your home as well.
