- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So today I want to talk to you about the phrase, what's wrong?
- 0:37And this is something that we as human beings tend to use an
- 0:41awful lot. I know, I was raised in a
- 0:44household where my mother would walk in a room and I would be
- 0:47sitting there I look up at her and she'd say what's wrong.
- 0:51And she always had this sense of impending doom and it seems very
- 0:57dramatic to say it that way, but it is very, very true.
- 1:01Her sense of impending doom was huge.
- 1:03And she had just a an air about her where she constantly looked
- 1:09for what's wrong. And I really I can't stress
- 1:16enough how that affected me growing up because my father was
- 1:20the exact opposite, my father would walk in and always be
- 1:23Smiles. Hey, what's shakin, what's going
- 1:25on? What are you doing?
- 1:26He always had great things to say and always had a huge smile
- 1:29on his face. And I grew up in this absolute
- 1:34opposite environment. And I've talked about it before
- 1:37about how fortunate I was to have the absolute opposites to
- 1:42cultivate me, but this question of what's wrong keeps coming up
- 1:47and coming up and coming up in our lives.
- 1:50The other day, I happened to be in a store and I was watching
- 1:54family and the mother kept saying to the child, what's
- 1:58wrong, what's wrong? And you No, obviously.
- 2:03It's a it's a push to get you to tell you that you had a person
- 2:08to tell you something but what if there's really nothing wrong,
- 2:11what if you're just sitting there and you're not even
- 2:13thinking about anything, what if you're just being the kid in
- 2:15that moment or the person in that moment and there really is
- 2:18nothing wrong. There's just a, you know, I'm
- 2:22not thinking about anything moment, what does that do to
- 2:25you? What does that do to your
- 2:26hardwiring? How does that make your brain
- 2:28shift into looking for something that's wrong all the time?
- 2:32Well, It's huge and human. Beings are automatically,
- 2:36hardwired to seek and see what's wrong for safety purposes.
- 2:40It's just part of our dynamic in survival, basic survival, things
- 2:46are to see what's wrong, so you can fix them and you can then
- 2:49continue on. But when you push it that way,
- 2:52it means, everything comes into Focus under that umbrella.
- 2:57So if we go back to, who's driving your bus as a metaphor
- 3:01again and we Say. What emotion is driving at that?
- 3:07Well, it comes from the fear side of things.
- 3:08It could be fear. It could be anxiety, it could
- 3:12be, you know, just having this sense of Ali's all the time.
- 3:18It could be that you're on edge, whatever the emotion is,
- 3:21however, it shows up, it it's all predicated, from that sense
- 3:25of fear, deep down inside about something must be wrong.
- 3:29How many of you have had a situation in your life where
- 3:32things are going? So well, Everything is going so
- 3:35well, so well, so well. And then all of a sudden, you
- 3:37say to yourself. Well, this has been going too
- 3:41good for too long. Something must be going to go
- 3:42wrong and boom. All of a sudden, something goes
- 3:46wrong. Well, that's not an accident
- 3:49that, that those things start to show up because your focus
- 3:52shifts and then you start to look for what's wrong.
- 3:54And then you make it show up by focusing on what's wrong?
- 3:58We get in these energies and these emotions and you can't
- 4:02help, but have those things show, Oh up when you're focused
- 4:05on him all the time. So it is a critical piece of
- 4:10your well-being to recognize how much you look for what's wrong
- 4:14versus what's great? You know, how many times have
- 4:18you sat down in the last month? Let's say, and that's not even
- 4:22go that far a week. Maybe even a day when you said,
- 4:25hey, what's great about today? I mean, when I ask that question
- 4:30of clients, the answer I get is I haven't done it enough or I
- 4:34haven't done it or it seems to slip my memory or I don't really
- 4:38think about it that much of course you don't because when
- 4:41you get into your doer mode and you're just there and you're
- 4:44grinding. Oh every single day you just
- 4:45cranking and grinding clanking and grinding doing the work.
- 4:49You're not paying attention to that piece and it's detrimental
- 4:52to your well-being because you're skipping the parts that
- 4:56create the energy. Why?
- 4:58Because remember emotion creates energy and vice versa and having
- 5:04that energy is what attracts things to you remember, like
- 5:07attracts. Like so if you're looking for
- 5:11the Doom and Gloom, if you're looking for what's wrong, you
- 5:14will always find it. My mother always found a healthy
- 5:17source of what was wrong. Her friends would call and tell
- 5:19her who died. She'd have all these things.
- 5:23She'd find it work to complain about she'd come home and she'd
- 5:26have the saddest face. She'd walk.
- 5:28The door and I'd say how was your day?
- 5:29And she's like, just like yesterday.
- 5:32I'd be like okay, why do I even want to have a conversation with
- 5:35her about it all weekend? Friday, she'd be happy because
- 5:39she was done and at the end when she came home from work and by
- 5:42Saturday morning she'd say only one more day and then back to
- 5:45the grind and then some you know Sunday night, she'd be in that
- 5:49whole mode of just getting ready for the next day, not excited
- 5:52about it. Just focusing on being back to
- 5:55the grind and then she'd come home from work.
- 5:57On Monday and she would always say, how was your day, those
- 6:01terrible, this happened. This happened.
- 6:03This happened, Not only would she complain about stuff for
- 6:05herself, she complain about stuff for other people, and she
- 6:08talked about it all the time, and she had a very good friend
- 6:13who happens. I happen to consider an adopted
- 6:16Aunt who I still have the gift of having on this planet with me
- 6:20and she was the happiest person. And she would always say to me,
- 6:25I don't know why she's like that.
- 6:26I don't know why she's like that.
- 6:28And she is the exact opposite of it, but somehow they were
- 6:30friends, I think just for years. Maybe they were friends when
- 6:33they were kids to, but I just did there and I say to myself
- 6:37holy cow, how could it have gotten to that point?
- 6:40Because I know it's some point. She had to have been a happy
- 6:43person, she had to have not always been like that at least.
- 6:47I hope that was the case and I I look back and I say gosh that
- 6:52one phrase now that I know what I know could have just been
- 6:55eliminated. I bet a lot of her work.
- 6:57L would have changed. So I'm going to challenge you to
- 7:00go out today and find how many times you are using what's
- 7:04wrong, and what you're looking at, and how we can change that
- 7:07because that will have a distinct distinct winning shift
- 7:11in your life if you can do it. So, I hope you guys have a great
- 7:15day and go find, what's great? Instead of what's wrong?
- 7:19Take care. Bye.
