- 0:04Speaker 1: Third and final hour of the program here on Sports
- 0:07Speaker 1: Radio AM 13 under the zone. Here with you for
- 0:11Speaker 1: another hour of the program. Craig Wade with you. Going
- 0:16Speaker 1: to be joined here shortly by Cedric Olan, the Austin
- 0:18Speaker 1: American statesman. He'll be with us here in just a
- 0:21Speaker 1: few minutes. The update on the Major League Baseball scene.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Rangers still lead the Mariners 2-0 as Texas bats in
- 0:29Speaker 1: the top of the fourth in Seattle in that series finale.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Astros have already won today. getting a ninth-inning home run
- 0:37Speaker 1: from Cameron Smith to win over Philadelphia by a score
- 0:40Speaker 1: of 2-1. Okay, I would say this. In boxing parlance,
- 0:48Speaker 1: whenever you have a reigning champion getting ready to defend
- 0:54Speaker 1: his title or have his next bout, whether it was
- 1:00Speaker 1: Michael Buffer or anybody else, they would say something like,
- 1:04Speaker 1: The reigning heavyweight champion of the world, Lennox Lewis or whoever.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So in this case, it is only right to say
- 1:13Speaker 1: the reigning Texas sports writer of the year as recognized
- 1:19Speaker 1: by the National Sports Media Association, Cedric Golden of the
- 1:23Speaker 1: Austin American Statesman who joins us now. I figured you'd
- 1:26Speaker 1: like that because you've always been a big boxing aficionado.
- 1:28Speaker 1: How are you doing?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Man, I'm great.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I love the boxing analogy. I'm reigning and defending. I
- 1:37Speaker 3: don't know how that equates. There are people in this
- 1:41Speaker 3: state that can write circles around me, but I'll take
- 1:43Speaker 3: the love.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Thanks, my friend.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know this, and I was kidding, because
- 1:48Speaker 1: if you've won the title, you're not allowed to defend it.
- 1:52Speaker 1: You can't. They used to do that to where you
- 1:55Speaker 1: could win it in consecutive years, and I think Vern
- 1:58Speaker 1: Lundquist won Texas SportsCast for like nine straight years one
- 2:02Speaker 1: time back in the 70s to 80s. So then they
- 2:06Speaker 1: changed this a few years ago. And so they said,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you can win one, and then you can't win the
- 2:12Speaker 1: next year, but you're eligible the following year.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That I didn't know. Yeah. That I didn't know. Kirk Bowles,
- 2:20Speaker 2: I thought Kirk Bowles won it.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I think it was like Kirk Bowles and Kevin Sherrington
- 2:25Speaker 3: of the Dallas Morning News just flip-flopped. Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Every other year.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So maybe that explains it. I didn't.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I didn't know that. I was gearing up for a repeat.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I guess I'll get nothing and like it.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You get to be like at the Oscars, you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: and so when you won one year, you get to present.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I presented, yes.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Best supporting actor there.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Best actor, yes.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And you got a chance to enjoy my hometown of Greensboro, right?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Good restaurant recommendations. Bev and I had a blast. Beautiful
- 2:56Speaker 3: out there. Reminds me of East Texas, Craig.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 3: It really does. A lot of pine trees. It was
- 3:01Speaker 3: really pretty. And yeah, we enjoyed it. And we may
- 3:05Speaker 3: go back next year, even though I'm not going to
- 3:07Speaker 3: be winning it again.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's a great clinic to go to. And you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: you get with like-minded individuals and you're sharing ideas and
- 3:15Speaker 1: all those kinds of things.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's really cool.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I got to hang out with Chuck Cooperstein, the
- 3:21Speaker 3: voice of the Dallas Mavericks.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he was out there.
- 3:25Speaker 1: There are very few people that are like of the
- 3:27Speaker 1: same mind as Chuck is, though. I mean, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: he's kind of out there, you know.
- 3:31Speaker 3: He's kind of out there. He loves his Gators. Loves
- 3:35Speaker 3: his Florida Gators. And I remember when, Craig, I don't
- 3:38Speaker 3: even know if you know this. We were in the
- 3:41Speaker 3: press box in Gainesville last year, the writers. And I'm
- 3:44Speaker 3: sitting there going, yeah, I'm with Kirk Bowles. And I'm like,
- 3:46Speaker 3: these guys didn't show up. Texas didn't show up. And
- 3:50Speaker 3: I look up and I see this big guy in
- 3:51Speaker 3: a Gators jersey walking through.
- 3:54Speaker 2: With a credential. He goes, we got shot. And I go, Cooperstein,
- 3:58Speaker 2: why are you in here?
- 4:00Speaker 3: You're obviously not working in that Gators gear.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 4:05Speaker 2: He came all the way to Gainesville.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I go, you came out here to Gainesville knowing full
- 4:10Speaker 3: well that Florida was probably going to suffer a beatdown.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And then Texas didn't show up. So it kind of
- 4:17Speaker 3: worked out for him. But I was like, Man, that
- 4:20Speaker 3: guy's got money to burn. Bussman's holiday, right? You know,
- 4:24Speaker 3: before he got really going with the Mavericks there. And
- 4:27Speaker 3: all that can mean, Sid, is what are the odds
- 4:29Speaker 3: we'll see him in Austin on October 17th, right?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it depends.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah, because the Mavericks don't start until... He's going to
- 4:36Speaker 3: be in the press box.
- 4:38Speaker 2: He's coming.
- 4:38Speaker 1: He'll be here.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He's coming. You know he is. He'll be there.
- 4:41Speaker 1: No doubt about it. Since we're on the subject of
- 4:44Speaker 1: the log horns, I wanted to get your overall take,
- 4:47Speaker 1: not only on what you saw last week, but the
- 4:50Speaker 1: run-up to this matchup. This is why I wanted you
- 4:53Speaker 1: to be on this week to talk about this matchup
- 4:55Speaker 1: because you were present for those other big matchups with
- 4:58Speaker 1: the Ohio State Buckeyes. So your thoughts on what you've
- 5:00Speaker 1: seen so far, your overall take in this matchup with
- 5:04Speaker 1: the Ohio State.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I want to tell you, I think Sarkeesian's quietly confident,
- 5:08Speaker 3: very confident. The good thing about it, Craig, is they
- 5:13Speaker 3: played really well in most areas. But they did just
- 5:18Speaker 3: a little bit of things that he can still point
- 5:22Speaker 3: to in film study in good, bad, and ugly. You know,
- 5:25Speaker 3: Arch throws that interception. They had a dozen or so runs.
- 5:29Speaker 3: They went for two yards or less. And so those
- 5:33Speaker 3: are the kind of things you can go, excuse me,
- 5:36Speaker 3: you didn't play perfectly, but you still scored 59 points.
- 5:41Speaker 3: They gave up 108 yards in the second quarter, not
- 5:45Speaker 3: their standard. So those are the kind of things you
- 5:47Speaker 3: can point to. They're going to be hungry enough playing
- 5:50Speaker 3: Ohio State, but they're not coming in fat and happy.
- 5:54Speaker 3: And so I think Sarkeesian and Muschamp can seize upon
- 5:58Speaker 3: that with the team leadership to let them know, hey,
- 6:03Speaker 3: And the team right now, I think you'll agree with me, Craig,
- 6:07Speaker 3: this is not the team that lost 14-7. This is
- 6:10Speaker 3: a much more talented club on both sides of the ball.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'm thinking we might be in for a real treat,
- 6:18Speaker 3: but I think Texas is miles better than the team
- 6:21Speaker 3: that went to Columbus, and it starts with 16.
- 6:24Speaker 2: 16's on another level right now.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt about it. I mean, you think about
- 6:28Speaker 1: last year with Arch, and like I said, I always
- 6:31Speaker 1: remember that first play, him dirting the ball there, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 1: trying to get it to Wingo, and then, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 1: just struggled. But the offensive line struggled, to be fair.
- 6:37Speaker 1: There were four new ones last year. This offensive line
- 6:40Speaker 1: looks a lot more fit, confident, and competent on the
- 6:45Speaker 1: line from what we've seen so far.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You know, the old offensive line coach, what was his name?
- 6:51Speaker 3: I'm drawing a blank.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Back in the day.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Back in the day. What's his name? It'll come to me.
- 7:00Speaker 3: The old offensive line. Matt, Coach McCorder. Coach McCorder always
- 7:05Speaker 3: wanted freakish depth up front. And they would sub out
- 7:09Speaker 3: four out and four in. This current crew's not to
- 7:14Speaker 3: that point. But they've got some guys that can come in.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Andre Kozio. Had some nice reps. Dylan Sikorski might be
- 7:25Speaker 3: out playing Brandon Baker right now. So they've got guys.
- 7:28Speaker 3: And Cole Hudson's not even a factor yet. And he
- 7:31Speaker 3: might be back. They've got some guys that have gotten
- 7:34Speaker 3: them that kind of depth that they're going to need
- 7:38Speaker 3: because it's such a physical game. And I'm encouraged by Arch.
- 7:43Speaker 3: One sack, they kept him pretty clean. And he didn't
- 7:48Speaker 3: have to run at all. He's going to run this weekend.
- 7:52Speaker 3: And it's not going to be running for his life.
- 7:54Speaker 3: That's the one thing they didn't show was Arch Manning
- 7:57Speaker 3: on design runs. I guarantee you Arch Manning's going to
- 8:01Speaker 3: run against a defense that lost a ton of NFL talent.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Caleb Downs no longer in the mix. Sonny Stiles no
- 8:08Speaker 3: longer in the mix. Jack Sawyer, I think he might
- 8:12Speaker 3: be gone. So those guys are no longer in the mix.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And I think that Arch is going to be a problem.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Not just with his arm, but with his legs.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Do you see this as many do that, you know,
- 8:25Speaker 1: the old thing about trench warfare and however the offensive
- 8:28Speaker 1: line and defensive lines of both sides? Because I know
- 8:30Speaker 1: that one of the concerns that I've heard coming out
- 8:33Speaker 1: of Columbus is their offensive line against the Texas defense.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And you notice from Ryan Day's news conference, there were
- 8:39Speaker 1: specific targeted questions about certain offensive linemen for Ohio State.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Do you see that as being one of the big
- 8:47Speaker 1: keys in this one?
- 8:49Speaker 3: It always is. It always is. You're only as good
- 8:51Speaker 3: as the fat guys up front. Those big boys, if
- 8:55Speaker 3: those big boys are winning, then the athletes, and some
- 8:59Speaker 3: coaches refer to the non-linemen as athletes. The Raheem Biles,
- 9:06Speaker 3: those kind of guys. Colin Simmons is an elite athlete,
- 9:09Speaker 3: even though he's up front. Those guys can really impact
- 9:13Speaker 3: the game. I'm interested to see what these corners, you know,
- 9:17Speaker 3: the Kobe Blacks, Grayson Littleton. I'm kind of interested to
- 9:21Speaker 3: see how those guys hold up against these really good receivers. Because, Greg,
- 9:29Speaker 3: if you look at it, Brad Jackson and Bo Sparks
- 9:34Speaker 3: had a nice little rhythm going. Quick drops, getting the
- 9:38Speaker 3: ball out, not allowing Colin Simmons to impact the game
- 9:42Speaker 3: at first because he was taking two-step drops. And the
- 9:46Speaker 3: receivers were getting open and they were matriculating it down
- 9:49Speaker 3: the field. I expect Ohio State watched that tape and
- 9:54Speaker 3: knew they're gonna try and figure out how to do
- 9:57Speaker 3: something similar even though Julian saying doesn't move as well
- 10:02Speaker 3: as a Brad Jackson.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Senator Golden of the Austin American Statesman with us during
- 10:06Speaker 1: this portion of the program. Let me get your thoughts.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm just real excited. Of course, I read your work,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you know, again. daily and every time it's out in
- 10:16Speaker 1: the statesman. But I want to get your thoughts on
- 10:18Speaker 1: the overall national college football scene. I thought it was
- 10:23Speaker 1: interesting how Sark said it, and he said it on
- 10:25Speaker 1: Long Word Weekly when we had Matt Brown on with
- 10:26Speaker 1: us last night. We'll hear it again when he said,
- 10:29Speaker 1: you know, isn't it nice to have a game? And
- 10:33Speaker 1: we're not talking about TROs and lawsuits and all that
- 10:37Speaker 1: other kind of stuff. Does this thing calm down a
- 10:40Speaker 1: little bit right now since, as I called it, LSU
- 10:45Speaker 1: versus the SEC was the Soviets and the Cuban Missile Crisis,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and they blinked and they backed down a little bit here?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I hope so, brother.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I do.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I do.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And we talked to Sark this afternoon, and he said
- 10:57Speaker 3: the same thing. You know, it's good to be talking
- 11:00Speaker 3: about a great game. The thing is, and we've talked
- 11:04Speaker 3: about it online, Kirk and I are on our own
- 11:07Speaker 3: Second Thought podcast, which dropped today.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's on YouTube.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin scores 51 points, blows out Dabo Sweeney, but
- 11:18Speaker 3: it seems like it's not enough. He's still got to
- 11:22Speaker 3: be reaching for that attention. It's like it's.
- 11:24Speaker 2: All about him.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Now, if 16 ADs and presidents voted to levy harsh penalties,
- 11:32Speaker 3: if you're trying to sign pro's, onto your roster, then
- 11:38Speaker 3: just leave it alone. You even had to get his
- 11:41Speaker 3: digs in at halftime. How good would we have been
- 11:44Speaker 3: with the pros? Okay, that guy got cut by the
- 11:46Speaker 3: Cleveland Browns. How good could he be? I mean, how
- 11:49Speaker 3: good could he be? And so for me, I'm glad
- 11:52Speaker 3: that we're back talking about football. I'm glad we're talking
- 11:55Speaker 3: about Steve Sarkeesian and Ryan Day and Julian Sane and
- 11:59Speaker 3: Arch Manning and Jeremiah.
- 12:03Speaker 2: And Coleman Wingo.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Those are the stars that people are paying to see. 105,000
- 12:10Speaker 3: people aren't going to show up to listen to you
- 12:14Speaker 3: muse about the fact that the SEC put BTA basically
- 12:21Speaker 3: on you for talking too much.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Leave it be. Leave it alone.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Isn't it good enough to be what Dabo Sweeney said
- 12:30Speaker 3: might be the best team in the country? Because Kurt
- 12:33Speaker 3: Bowles is moving them from 11 in his poll all
- 12:35Speaker 3: the way up to number one.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Wow.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So let's make it about the game that other stuff
- 12:40Speaker 3: will take care of itself.
- 12:43Speaker 2: These guys are making money.
- 12:44Speaker 3: You go to a pro camp, you sign a contract,
- 12:46Speaker 3: and you should know in your heart that you're no
- 12:48Speaker 3: longer a college athlete.
- 12:50Speaker 2: That should be the end of it. But guess what, Craig?
- 12:53Speaker 2: It won't be.
- 12:54Speaker 3: No.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Because there's a judge.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Somewhere that lives down the street from the coach that's
- 12:59Speaker 3: willing to bang– his or her gavel and do a
- 13:04Speaker 3: TRO and we're right back where we started. It's a
- 13:09Speaker 3: colossal guano show.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It is. Yeah, no doubt about it. Okay, you mentioned
- 13:14Speaker 1: Kirk moving LSU up to number one. Who do you
- 13:16Speaker 1: think is the number one team? And will the winner
- 13:19Speaker 1: of this Saturday's game have a rightful claim to be
- 13:23Speaker 1: number one?
- 13:24Speaker 3: I think it might be LSU, but I think the
- 13:27Speaker 3: winner of this game, this is a This is a
- 13:31Speaker 3: mega marquee matchup. Like your mentor, Bill Mercer, would say,
- 13:37Speaker 3: this is a main event in any wrestling arena in America.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I think the winner of this game, well, should have
- 13:45Speaker 3: a rightful claim to number one because this is elite
- 13:48Speaker 3: versus elite and Heisman candidates against Heisman candidates, Belitnikov versus Belitnikov,
- 13:56Speaker 3: you name it.
- 13:57Speaker 2: There is star power at every position. on this field.
- 14:01Speaker 3: And whoever wins with everybody watching will be my pick
- 14:05Speaker 3: for the number one team in the country.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Senator Golden with us for a couple more minutes. Jump
- 14:09Speaker 1: to the NFL. Who's the best team in the NFL?
- 14:13Speaker 3: I'm picking the two teams I think are going to
- 14:16Speaker 3: end up in the Super Bowl or the Los Angeles
- 14:19Speaker 3: Rams if Matt Stafford doesn't wake up and realize that
- 14:23Speaker 3: he's old. If Matt Stafford can do what he did
- 14:26Speaker 3: last year and if they can get 75% of what
- 14:30Speaker 3: we used to get from Aaron Donald. And we know
- 14:32Speaker 3: that miles Garrett is in his prime. I believe that
- 14:37Speaker 3: the Rams are going to win the Superbowl. And I
- 14:39Speaker 3: think the Ravens have been knocking on that door. Either
- 14:42Speaker 3: the Ravens or the bills in the AFC, but not
- 14:45Speaker 3: going on that door. How bad was Drake May last night?
- 14:48Speaker 3: That was bad, man. That was bad. But I think
- 14:51Speaker 3: it's Rams Ravens in the Superbowl. And I'm leaning toward
- 14:56Speaker 3: the Rams. They just, They have star power. They have
- 15:00Speaker 3: pro bowlers. And they probably should have been there. They
- 15:06Speaker 3: probably should have won it by now. But if Stafford
- 15:09Speaker 3: can stay healthy, I think the Rams are the most
- 15:12Speaker 3: complete team.
- 15:12Speaker 2: In the league.
- 15:14Speaker 1: How will the Cowboys do?
- 15:16Speaker 2: They'll make the playoffs. They'll make the playoffs.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I think that Harbaugh is going to light a fire
- 15:21Speaker 3: under the Giants.
- 15:22Speaker 2: So the NFC East kind of got sexy. It got
- 15:25Speaker 2: kind of sexy.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I think Sirianni's kind of nuts. But I'm probably leaning
- 15:31Speaker 3: toward the Eagles to still win the division. And I
- 15:34Speaker 3: don't think the Giants are talented enough to make the playoffs,
- 15:38Speaker 3: but they're going to win more games. Jaden Daniels stays healthy.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Dak Prescott has played well. And CeeDee Lamb, for what
- 15:48Speaker 3: he's done, CeeDee Lamb had a down year last year.
- 15:52Speaker 3: And if he had just been himself with what George
- 15:54Speaker 3: Pickens had done, Cowboys probably would have won a playoff game,
- 15:57Speaker 3: but I'm thinking they make the playoffs. They feel like
- 16:00Speaker 3: an 11-6 or a 10-7.
- 16:04Speaker 1: How good will the Texans be?
- 16:08Speaker 3: It's an all-time great defense, but they don't have a quarterback.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I don't think C.J. Stroud's the guy.
- 16:13Speaker 1: He's not the answer?
- 16:15Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not. You've heard of the sophomore jinx? He
- 16:19Speaker 3: just had a junior jinx. So what's going on with that?
- 16:23Speaker 3: He had a sophomore and a junior jinx, and now
- 16:25Speaker 3: the senior jinx is coming up. He tried to give
- 16:28Speaker 3: that game to the Steelers last year. I just don't
- 16:31Speaker 3: know that he's the guy. I think he had one
- 16:34Speaker 3: good year, and they are wasting an all-time great defense,
- 16:38Speaker 3: and they're going to have to give him some money, Craig,
- 16:40Speaker 3: because they're never going to be in the position where
- 16:43Speaker 3: they're going to be able to take an arch or
- 16:45Speaker 3: a sand. They're going to always be in the mix.
- 16:49Speaker 3: for that division. So they're kind of caught between a
- 16:51Speaker 3: rock and a hard place. I do not think he
- 16:53Speaker 3: can lead them to special places. I am not a
- 16:56Speaker 3: believer in C.J.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Stroud.
- 16:58Speaker 1: One final question. The chair you're sitting in right now
- 17:02Speaker 1: was the chair you were sitting in when Sark did
- 17:04Speaker 1: his Zoom availability this morning. Have you not moved from
- 17:07Speaker 1: that chair before, during, or after the time with Sark?
- 17:12Speaker 2: So you did watch the Zoom. So you will notice
- 17:14Speaker 2: that the shirt is different.
- 17:15Speaker 1: That is true. You did change your shirt.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I did change my shirt. I did go, I've written
- 17:21Speaker 3: two columns.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I got to write one more.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I went to the kitchen to, I went to the
- 17:27Speaker 3: kitchen to do, to get some grapes and a protein shake.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I did do that, but I've written two columns.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I got to write one more.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I did a newsletter and I did a podcast today.
- 17:39Speaker 3: And so, yeah, Thursday is a production day for me
- 17:42Speaker 3: because I don't want to be doing much of anything
- 17:44Speaker 3: on Friday.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Okay. I'm with you, and I appreciate being the exclamation
- 17:49Speaker 1: point on a very active day for you. Hey, thanks,
- 17:52Speaker 1: and I'll see you in the press box. I haven't
- 17:56Speaker 1: been over in the writer's box yet. I've only been
- 17:58Speaker 1: over where we broadcast from, but I'll come around over
- 18:00Speaker 1: to the east side.
- 18:01Speaker 3: So you've been hanging out in Beverly Hills, and you
- 18:04Speaker 3: haven't visited us in Watts yet. Come visit us in Watts.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Watts is fine.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Have you seen where we work from? It ain't no
- 18:10Speaker 1: Bev Hills.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Uh i heard i heard that it's a smaller space
- 18:14Speaker 3: for you guys.
- 18:15Speaker 1: It's a it's a it's a different space let me
- 18:18Speaker 1: put it to you that way it's a it's a
- 18:20Speaker 1: different space.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Yeah yeah come see us it's fine you know what
- 18:24Speaker 3: i i i wasn't i didn't take the tour with

- 18:33Speaker 3: there's worse places it's never going to be as good
- 18:36Speaker 3: as where we used to be craig right but we'll
- 18:38Speaker 3: take We'll take it.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It sure beats working for a living.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. And I accepted that a long time ago.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And I will tell you, I have broadcast from more
- 18:47Speaker 1: difficult places you can identify with this. Detroit against Italy
- 18:52Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving night, 1990 on the press box and on
- 18:55Speaker 1: top of the press box in Royce City.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 18:58Speaker 1: There's other places. You've worked in some rather cozy confines
- 19:04Speaker 1: on the high school beat back in the day when
- 19:05Speaker 1: you were tearing it up in East Texas.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 19:08Speaker 3: And I cover the Cowboys Commanders, which they were the
- 19:11Speaker 3: Redskins back then. Remember, that was the Tom Herman era.
- 19:16Speaker 3: It was raining inside the press box. I'll never forget it.
- 19:20Speaker 3: It was raining inside the press box. I was covering
- 19:23Speaker 3: up my MacBook like it was a newborn baby. That's
- 19:26Speaker 3: how concerned I was. So we've worked in a lot
- 19:29Speaker 3: worse circumstances. We got it better than 99.9% of the
- 19:31Speaker 3: people doing this, Greg.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I agree completely. I appreciate it, my friend. Thanks for
- 19:37Speaker 1: doing it, and I'll see you on Saturday.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Okay, brother. Take care.
