- 0:03Welcome to the nerd polite. Hi, this is Nick Nastasu, story editor
- 0:09on Star Wars, The Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch. And you
- 0:14are listening to aggressive negotiations. Well, hello, and welcome to aggressive negotiations
- 0:28coming at you from the seedy port of ord Bandel. And I'm just one
- 0:33of your hosts here, Matthew rushing and with me as he is every single
- 0:38week, slightly inebriated. Well, I'm just kidding. No, you're not
- 0:43kidding. No, no, no, no no no. Obi Wan Kenobi
- 0:46has very much set the bar super low for anybody to enjoy a drink.
- 0:51As a Jedi. For all of their talk about leading a disciplined, monastic
- 0:56lifestyle, this is obviously a Jedi order that to tie one on from time
- 1:00to time anything does like his drinks. But you would have to ask yourself
- 1:06as well, maybe Anakin should have had a few drinks to just sort of
- 1:10chill out a little bit, Like maybe that could have helped the galaxy if
- 1:12Anakin had just every so often just had a glass of something and just chilled
- 1:15the f out. See, I und't agree with you. I mean,
- 1:19what albeit one is setting such a great example, right, yep, I'm
- 1:23going to get a drink, you know, like sometimes you just need a
- 1:29drink to calm things down. You really can get in the touch with the
- 1:33forest then, because you know you're just kind of mellow. Well, here's
- 1:37let's ask an even more interesting question. I don't know if we've ever even
- 1:41touched on this, even though we're more than three hundred episodes and seven years
- 1:44in on this show. But after we get done with our bad Batch rewatch,
- 1:48which continues this week with season one, the episode called Infested, which
- 1:52is the eleventh episode, right, this is the eleventh episode of season one,
- 2:00So yes, Infested. Once we're done with this, we should discuss
- 2:02the probably the drinking age laws of a galaxy far far away. How how
- 2:08do you determine that? How do you figure it out? How do you
- 2:10figure for all different cultural mores? How do you figure out for all of
- 2:14the different how would you enforce it? How would you think of your baby
- 2:17Yoda? I mean the guys probably like fifty, can he not drink exactly?
- 2:23But man, this is a great conversation. You know what, Let's
- 2:27put a pin in that one, or rather let's put let's put one of
- 2:30those little cocktail umbrellas in it, you know, come back to that one.
- 2:37Yes, uh what's that planet? And and or what is it that
- 2:42they go that it's like the you know, cocktail planet, you know that
- 2:46there with has the beach and everything. I can't remember the name of it
- 2:50because you know if some of the show maybe twice at this point and so
- 2:53I yeah, you know, don't I mean they've got cocktail umbrellas, right,
- 2:59Uh? Yeah, yes. Unfortunately having one is in violation of the
- 3:02uh the Beach Troopers. You get arrested for that, yeah, probably,
- 3:07so get arrested, thrown in and then ironically spend your entire sentence just making
- 3:14beach umbrella you know, zat you know because on Glean's um it's fine.
- 3:20So right anyway, but before while we get completely derailed, you can find
- 3:24us all over the place, you know, hit us up on social media.
- 3:28Please follow us on Twitter at the Jedi Masters, of course, the
- 3:30entire network at join Nerdparty. We would love to interact with you, John
- 3:34and I love having conversations with people over there. Of course, share us
- 3:37with your friends. The best way to grow a podcast is word of mouth
- 3:39and even digital word of mouth. So if you like the show, you
- 3:44know, retweet us all that kind of stuff. It would be great.
- 3:46You can also find us with the entire network on Facebook and Facebook dot com,

- 4:00show as soon as the drops. We'd really appreciate that. And if you
- 4:03really love the show and you and you're like, you know what, these
- 4:06guys deserve some help, go over to Apple Podcasts and give us a five
- 4:11star rating and review really means a lot to us. It also helps our
- 4:15show grow. There are so many Star Wars podcasts out there and the only
- 4:18way to differentiate those shows is by the amount of reviews that you have.
- 4:23So help us out. Give us a review. And as John mentioned,
- 4:27we're going to be doing our commentary series here. We're on the thirteenth episode
- 4:32of The Bad Batch, which means there's only three more episodes left in this
- 4:36season, which is so exciting, and we're on the episode Infested. So
- 4:42what we're gonna do is I'm going to count down. I'm gonna say three,
- 4:45two one play, So on play, you're gonna hit the play button
- 4:49and so here we go three two one play, all right, here we
- 4:58go? Yeah you wish upon a streaming fis the lucasfilm logo comes on the
- 5:04screen? Yes, you know which, I just is. We're you know
- 5:10here, there's nothing happening yet. Who isn't excited for Mando season three.
- 5:14I keep seeing things about that and I'm just like so pumped and so ready.
- 5:17My muting of hashtags on Twitter is so effective that I still don't see
- 5:23mandom announcements come across. That's too bad. It goes many years back.
- 5:28Last time that the Star Wars fans were having a problem with each other,
- 5:30I muted everything so badly that, yeah, you know, it's understandable too
- 5:34well. I love the establishing shot of the city, and I think it's
- 5:41also that so many different places around the galaxy have circular bays for ships to
- 5:47land on, like it's like a standard thing in the Star Wars universe.
- 5:51Makes so much sense though, when you think about it, it makes absolutely
- 5:56perfect sense because a circle, you know, it's it's something where that can
- 6:01accommodate irregular like you're not if you're a square. What if you have something
- 6:06that's oblong. If you like, you just have need to have a large
- 6:10enough circle in any shape can go in there as long as it's not,
- 6:14you know, over large. I love the helmets on the guys that they're
- 6:18walking past right here. You know me, I'm a sucker for armor and
- 6:21helmets, and I just love this because the thing is the design is very
- 6:30macquarie esque without being slavishly so right. You know. What I also really
- 6:35like about this episode so far is the way it's establishing this idea that Sid
- 6:42is not always very truthful with them, and I really appreciate that because it
- 6:49kind of sets up a theme that we're seeing kind of play out in season
- 6:51two as well, and it kind of starting here. It's always great to
- 7:00see a Devonian. I can honestly say when I was a little kid,
- 7:04just from the minute I saw that that makeup in the cantina been captivated since
- 7:13you know, oh so many years ago. So I'm always happy to see
- 7:17a familiar alien species like that gets some screen time. Well, and you
- 7:27know, this Devoronian looks very familiar to one that we know from Rebels,
- 7:33so that's also very interesting, which again we've we've sung the praises of the
- 7:40show before. Yes we have hera, Yes we have these characters that are
- 7:45tying in to past and future series, but it's done in such a way
- 7:50it doesn't matter whether you've seen them before. They simply work as characters in
- 7:57the situations, m and the the entire you know, the entire idea here
- 8:13that once again we're getting some of this underworld action that Lucas himself wanted to
- 8:18get into being brought forward here. And I think a great this is another
- 8:26one of those great things of highlighting how the batch. They had this very
- 8:33different view of how the galaxy worked, how the world worked, because they
- 8:37were a military organization. There was a hierarchy, there was clear sense,
- 8:41there were defined missions, and now you have loyalties that get muddled. You
- 8:46have who is there anybody that's a good guy? Is there anybody that's a
- 8:50bad guy? Is or is it all just a matter of who is manipulating
- 8:54whom to whomever's you know benefit. There's no loyalty here. There's no code
- 9:01of conduct or ethics. It's simply will play by a loose set of rules
- 9:07unless I can get one up on you, and then I'm gonna take advantage
- 9:09of it well. And I think the interesting thing here too, is that
- 9:15this episode is doing such a good job of introducing us to this idea of
- 9:20the way in which all of these criminal organizations are moving into these planets,
- 9:26that the criminal underworld is growing very quickly now that the Empire is in control.
- 9:33And you know, that's something that plays into a lot of things that
- 9:37we know and the rest of Star Wars. You know, you think of
- 9:41Solo, you think of elements of rebels, you think of the connections that
- 9:45we saw even the Clone Wars here and then all the way into something like
- 9:50the original trilogy, the Mandalorian, and so I really just appreciate the way
- 9:54that this episode is building into that. And you know, again, this
- 10:01is the first season of this show. The Empire has only been in control
- 10:05for half a year maybe at this point, and so but things are moving
- 10:09at a very fast pace. And I like the fact that we're using the
- 10:16pikes again. You know, Sid makes a reference the pikes are not an
- 10:22enemy you want to make where this is. You know, the Obiwan show
- 10:28has the pikes in it, Solo has the pikes in it, Clone Wars
- 10:31has the pikes in it. This show has the Pikes in it. What
- 10:33I really enjoy about it in all honesty is Lazier impulses would simply lean into
- 10:43the Huts the way that the Expanded Universe did in the nineteen nineties, and
- 10:48instead there's an effort to introduce us to something different. It's not just a
- 10:54bunch of jabas running around. We've explored the huts thing we've had, we've
- 10:58had zero the Hut, and we've had all of the different you know,
- 11:03Hut exploration and the Clone Wars. Why stick with that, Let's move on
- 11:07to the Pikes and what the criminal owner world looks like now right well,
- 11:13and the idea that like you know, of course, the Clone Wars also
- 11:16showed us Black Sun and all of those type of organizations as well, so
- 11:22that the Huts are not the only organization. I think you're absolutely on point.
- 11:26And let me also point out that as we're watching the sequence where they're
- 11:30doing the you know, the their hand cranking the carts across the chasm,
- 11:35I sing the praises of the lighting and all that stuff of this show all
- 11:39the time. The dust when they open the big door and as they're going
- 11:46through now the dust there's that real sense of reality to the granularity that is,
- 11:54right Like, it's so beautiful. It adds so much texture and depth
- 11:58to the The other thing I love about this is they've got the cart that
- 12:03reminds you so much of the Temple of Doom, right, yes, yes
- 12:07it does, And so I just love that this is one of those nice
- 12:11allusions to previous Lucas film collaborations. And you know the fact that we're in
- 12:18a cave here, and then of course we're going to have all these bugs,
- 12:22which is another big Indiana Jones thing is having big gross bugs. So
- 12:28this whole episode kind of has that indie type feel to it, which we
- 12:35also get in season two as well, right like, we have another episode
- 12:39that has a very indie feel to it as well. So you know,
- 12:43it's just it's so great because the Bad Batch is continuing a trend that the
- 12:50Clone Wars did, which is to use other genre stories to create their own
- 12:56stories, but do it in a very Star War's way. But it also
- 13:03makes a terrific use I think of this. You know, the thing is,
- 13:13it's easy for it to sound like a like a pejorative, but I
- 13:16mean this in the best possible sense. It feels familiar in the same way
- 13:22that it feels familiar for there to be a like, you know, video
- 13:26game, like I would feel like this would be Apropos and dark Forces or
- 13:30something like that. You know, you have to be super quiet, you
- 13:33can't have the decibel level get above a certain amount. It's something that anybody
- 13:35played a game can understand the difficulty level that you're on right now. And
- 13:43am I the only one that wants that popcorn thing? Like I already told
- 13:48you I would I already yeah, yeah, you said the last time,
- 13:52but I'm just I'm saying it again because i really want it. It looks
- 13:56so good. Why are they not selling this at Galaxy's Edge. I don't
- 14:00get it. It's ridiculous. They should be selling it as a Galaxy's Edge,
- 14:03yes, and they or you know what, they should just sell it
- 14:07period. Just make it something I can buy it. Don't make it a
- 14:11destination things like Target or whatever. I also don't think they should make a
- 14:18blue milk a destination thing. I think they should make it something you can
- 14:22buy or at least share the recipe where it's like, oh, it's not
- 14:24quite the same, but you can make it at home. Sort of,
- 14:26but you know, that's my style. That's just how I do it.
- 14:28Yeah, And I also want to say that I'm always filled with glee.
- 14:35I know that it's not unique to bad Batch, but I always love the
- 14:37fact that these containers look like the containers that han. You know, we
- 14:43first saw this type of design in the original Star Wars and it speaks again
- 14:48to that idea that there is a a consistency modularity to the Star Wars galaxy
- 14:54that adds to the realism of it because you have to have mass production,
- 15:00and so seeing crates like that, I just always enjoy hmm. I also
- 15:07love these guys that have stolen his pet and that they're just kind of like
- 15:11bumbling idiots. It's like you asked Abbott and Costello to do something. Now,
- 15:20I love, okay, new plan and then he just runs away.
- 15:24That that's leg that's legit humor. That's that's a type of humor that always
- 15:30is gonna win. And I do like the fact that, you know,
- 15:33the thing I love about seeing a pet for a bad guy is, uh,
- 15:39it always reminds me of there was this cartoon. For those who are
- 15:45too young to have read it or remember it or what have you called the
- 15:48Far Side? It was a single panel cartoon by Gary Larson. It was
- 15:52big in the eighties, the best, And there was a cartoon where it
- 15:56showed these Vikings coming back, you know, sailing back to the shore,
- 16:00and the dog is standing in front of the hut, the huts with its
- 16:03tail wagging, and there's no caption on it. And when they had a
- 16:07tenth anniversary book or whatever, he said, the whole point of this comic
- 16:11was to show that no matter how terrible a person you were or are,
- 16:15your dog is always happy to see you. And it's like, that's the
- 16:18same thing like seeing him with his pet. You know. It's like,
- 16:22even though he's a criminal overlord and a terrible person and orders people dead,
- 16:29you get him in front of his pet and he's given belly scratches and cuddles.
- 16:33It's true. It's true. You know. What's also something that would
- 16:38be fun is this as a ride a gallax? Agree? Right, completely
- 16:42agree? You would have to do it, you know what, you would
- 16:47have to do a ride like this as something you would have in the void.
- 16:52Yeah, like an indoor coaster thing. Oh no, the void was
- 16:56even better than that. I don't think you ever got a chance to be
- 16:59on it, did you? The void was where you put on the VR
- 17:03helmet. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't get to do it,
- 17:07but I had friends that did, so I'm lucky enough to have done
- 17:11it three times. And this would have been a terrific void ride. This
- 17:15would have been really great. But you couldn't have the crashing because I doubt
- 17:18they would want to risk their expensive equipment like that. So I think you're
- 17:22absolutely right, Yeah, but it would it would have been I mean,
- 17:27it was so it was so convincing on that thing that at one point you
- 17:32step out onto a platform that starts, you know, it's on a repulsor
- 17:36with it starts flying over the lava on most afar, and they use this
- 17:40this thing. They would blow heat on you, so it felt like lava
- 17:44heat, and I actually got disoriented, and even though I knew on some
- 17:49level that I was standing in a room, I got scared because I have
- 17:53a fear of heights, about getting near the edge of the platform I was
- 17:56on. And it was one of those really killer moments. But none of
- 18:00that has to do with these disgusting bugs that are attacking. Yeah, I
- 18:03mean, can I just talk about how terrifying these like absolutely nasty, monster
- 18:11size locusts are. It's like a cross between moths and locusts. Like there's
- 18:17really nasty, aggressive, big hairy moths, yeah, and locusts. And
- 18:22if you grew up in the South, you know, you know that sounds
- 18:25cicadas make too. Yeah, I do know, all too well, yeah,
- 18:30all too well. But the thing is cicadas are harmless. These are,
- 18:34yeah. They when we were doing these commentaries, is kept account of
- 18:41how many times that Sid's plants almost get the batch killed. M h.
- 18:51I we're batting a thousand, aren't we pretty much? Pretty much. I
- 18:57also appreciate that the that the show embraced the disgustingness, Like you said,
- 19:03it's a real Indiana Jones type thing, not to shy away from the fact
- 19:07that the bug guts are all gross and everything. And you see that that
- 19:11half a bug twitching, It adds, it adds to the atmospherics. Well,
- 19:18it's because they took like the gen ocean bugs and just amped it up
- 19:22by twelve. Yeah. Yeah, you know, you just don't cross the
- 19:30pikes, you know, with spice. They just don't take kindly to it.
- 19:37And the classic, always the classic. I just need more time.
- 19:42And if there's one thing we know from watching anything having to do with drug
- 19:48smuggling or the mob, and I love how the Pikes they don't even flinch,
- 19:57right, They're so completely unafraid. They have guns drawn on them and
- 20:04they're like, oh, you wouldn't dare shoot us? Like they're they're not
- 20:10even afraid of what's happening right now, not in the slightest. Yeah.
- 20:14And they're the classic villains because, like they just said, we don't get
- 20:18what we want. You're not going to be the one that suffers. Your
- 20:22entire family is going to suffer. It's uh yeah, which again is a
- 20:33classic mob thing. It's not just you, We will come after you and
- 20:37your family and everybody else. Yeah. I mean they really amp up the
- 20:45godfather nature. It's not just your brains that are going to be on the
- 20:48contract, it's your whole family's brains. Yeah. And the Pikes, all
- 21:00they care about is the product. Return it to us and we will consider
- 21:04this issue resolved. We don't even care. We just murdered everybody, and
- 21:11we took Roland because obviously he's incompetent because he got his stuff stolen, you
- 21:15gave it to us? Yeah, you know what, We'll let you live.
- 21:26Well, I guess it wasn't so good that they lost that spice then
- 21:29and the caverns with all the books. But it's really really just fascinating how
- 21:41like we we don't even know for certain in the screen universe what the spice
- 21:49does. Have we ever seen somebody high on spice in a film or on
- 21:56a show? We have in the Clone Wars and the Pikes are using spice
- 22:03when obi Wan and uh Ana can go to visit them, when they're uh
- 22:10researching what happened uh to what's his face? Um? When they find out,
- 22:15you know, the whole backstory of um. But but I'm talking I'm
- 22:22talking about I'm talking about have we ever seen people dealing it on the street?
- 22:26Have we ever seen people that's true? Yeah? You know, Like
- 22:30like again, going back to the expanded universe, glitter stem m was the
- 22:36big thing, and we had a list of effects and side effects that it
- 22:41had. Right, Spice is still very nebulous, And I kind of like
- 22:45that because your head can construct what the effect is of somebody taking it,
- 22:51it's not a definite And I like that sort of thing. Of course they
- 22:56come up with a good enough explanation. I like that too. I'm not
- 22:59I'm not an in actable man, right right. And the name I was
- 23:02trying to think it was cyp Ideas, of course, so that the absolute
- 23:07beauty of the texture on the mountains as they're going over there, and Wrecker,
- 23:17yeah, the one having Yeah, but just that that why, dude,
- 23:22you gotta be kidding me, you know, like, come on.
- 23:26I think one of the things too, I like about this is that,
- 23:30you know, we're diving into this cave that's full of bugs and everything,
- 23:33and I really enjoy that there is a part of this that does feel slightly
- 23:38reminiscent to places that we saw in Genosism, which I really appreciate. Um,
- 23:45it really fits obviously that you know that there would be some kind of
- 23:49similarities. But this also, of course has an alien feel to it as
- 23:53well, and it also looks beautiful, like the floaty stuff in the atmosphere
- 24:00of the upside down. Yes, yes, so, and that we that
- 24:10I think speaks to a primal thing we know as human beings. That if
- 24:14I see stuff floating in the air in that sort of concentration, it's like
- 24:18a breathing Here is the bad idea. I don't like this, Yeah,
- 24:26and that I love the moment where we see Omega considering, oh, should
- 24:33I grab the gun? But Roland is the one that says to her,
- 24:37no, no, don't, don't do that. That's not a good idea.
- 24:41So again, he's not a monster. He's a businessman. He's a
- 24:47jerk and a criminal and all of these things. But he's not willing to
- 24:49let the He's not going to sit there and just watch a kid get or
- 24:52something killed. Well, I mean it's it's not personal, it's business,
- 24:59right Exactly. The other thing I was thinking that the spot there where the
- 25:06bugs look like it also looks a little bit like Aragogue's lair in Harry Potter
- 25:11and the Forbidden Forest. So it's like they put a bunch of those just
- 25:15uper a creepy places altogether and then do a really good job. Uh look
- 25:21at just I just there's so many, so many moments in every episode of
- 25:27these shows where I could just cherry pick imagery and just be happy with it.
- 25:34But this cameramove after a Hunter is in and then we you know,
- 25:38we we pan over to tech and Echo and that that pan just it looks
- 25:47it's so gorgeous. It's a real cameramove, you know, it's a cameramove
- 25:52I would expect to see in a film. Well, And I think that's
- 25:56the beauty of these shows is that one of the things that they do with
- 26:00the Clone Wars and the Bad Batch Rebels is that they're not placing their digital
- 26:06camera in a place that you wouldn't be able to have a real camera in
- 26:10real life. And that's one of the things that always helped the animation of
- 26:18Star Wars look like real Star Wars right, like what we consider real Star
- 26:23Wars at the time, you know, because they weren't doing things with the
- 26:26digital camera that you couldn't do in real life. Well, it gives it
- 26:32gives the thing. The thing is, it gives the sense that the camera
- 26:34is a real thing, and which helps us believe in it more. It's
- 26:37it's a really weird sort of like dichotomy that we have in our brains sort
- 26:41of thing. Yes, it's almost like a double think thing. I need
- 26:44to believe that the camera can't go beyond a certain position in order for me
- 26:48to believe that I'm watching something and the thing is it's even more than like
- 26:52you know, oh this and that it's it's a camera with weight to it,
- 26:57and in animation it is so easy to fall trap, you know,
- 27:03or in a Michael Bay movie. Not look, I'm not knocking the guy.
- 27:06He's made plenty of movies that I like, but like he can fall
- 27:08trapped to that too with a CG stuff. But I even look at Michael
- 27:11Mann, who's one of my favorite directors, and when he started really leaning
- 27:15into the digital stuff with Public Enemies or which was you know, had some
- 27:23challenges there, but like I love the film Collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie
- 27:27Fox, but then he places the camera in these weird spots at certain points
- 27:32and it actually takes you out of the film because you're like, I know
- 27:34that you're using just like a little pen like camera and it just like I
- 27:38like, it immediately makes me say, oh, I know that I know
- 27:41where this would have to be. Therefore I don't believe in the the unreality
- 27:45of this anymore. I know. That was just a long winded way to
- 27:52say what we were saying before, which was you need to believe that the
- 27:53camera exists and is placed in a certain way. It's never good to lose
- 28:00a horn. No, it isn't. Yeah, And it's it's interesting that
- 28:15the call for mercy, they don't appeal to their better nature, They appeal
- 28:21to their desire not to have more trouble than they can handle. Yeah,
- 28:27yeah, No. I I think that the beauty of what they do in
- 28:32this episode is how perfectly it fits with everything we already know about the Pikes
- 28:38and the criminal underworld and that you don't want to cross the Pikes. And
- 28:44so I just love this this episode for that, And it also gives us
- 28:48the opportunity, I think, to see and beginning to get a sense to
- 28:53that there's nothing really altruistic at all about sid you know, everything that she
- 29:03does is something that's going to benefit her, and that's something that's kind of
- 29:07an underlying current of uncomfortable ass that you have with her as a character.
- 29:15And it's something obviously that continues all the way in the season two. And
- 29:18it's a question that I'm I'm very interested to see them have an answer.
- 29:23Can I just say the framing of Hunter as the mature dad standing with Omega
- 29:30is that's a classic end of an episode sort of thing, the dad and
- 29:34the kid. Why just stand up for him. Well, you know,
- 29:38Ruby likes him, like the way it's lit, the way that there they
- 29:42are, but also seeing the way that the rest of the batch immediately runs
- 29:45off to go have fun, you know, to have that first round on
- 29:51sid and everything, but Hunters the one that stays with her for that moment,
- 29:55that discussion about the lesson, Well, why did we do what we
- 29:57did? Are we here? What do we learn? Yeah? I think
- 30:04that's one of the most important things that's happening throughout this season and of course
- 30:10into the next, which is these characters to which were bred specifically to be
- 30:15soldiers, are having to learn how to be so much more. And I
- 30:19don't think that there's and I'm sure you would agree with this as being a
- 30:23father, there's nothing harder than raising kids. And there's nothing about these soldiers
- 30:32that thought that that was going to be a part of their life. Ever.
- 30:34Is there anything harder than raising kids? I would say, waiting until
- 30:38next week to watch the episode war Mantle fourteenth episode, that's pretty difficult.
- 30:44I'd say it's pretty much on par So I think it's been a kick you
- 30:51with infested here and getting getting to have our bug episode and our re establishment
- 30:57of the Pikes as the big batties of the under world and setting all of
- 31:00that up. But Matt, if people want to reach out to you and
- 31:03maybe I don't know kind of deal on a missing box of spice, where
- 31:07can they find you? Well, I definitely have the deal for you,
- 31:11So come see me. You can find me all over social media with that
- 31:15deal at Matt rushing ZR two, Twitter, Instagram, letterbox, vero here
- 31:18on the network. I'm also doing and I did to complete a show I
- 31:22will post with Ray Kaufman talking about Harry Potter one chapter at a time.
- 31:26I'm also over on the TFM network with a bunch of shows. One calls
- 31:30the six O two Club, which we talk about all of the fantoms we
- 31:33love. John's a frequent guest over there. We also do a couple of
- 31:37bonus shows that you can find, which is a lot of fun. I'm
- 31:40doing literary treks about the books in the comics of Star Trek or five about
- 31:44Star Trek Enterprise, the Or about Star Trek Deep Space nine, Saddle Up
- 31:48about Strange New Worlds, and the Artificial Tango about Star Trek Picard Nas.
- 31:52We're recording the Season three is beginning, so we'll be back talking about the
- 31:56last season for those iconic characters. But John, you know, if people
- 32:02wanted to see you know what else you've got going on these days, where
- 32:06are the places that you know they might be able to see that. Well,
- 32:08if people want to make the bad mistake of interacting with me online,
- 32:12look for the username Kessel Junkie k s s l j u n kie.
- 32:15There are a few people who actually seek it out and there are probably an
- 32:19equal number that regret it. So you can find me as Kessel Junkie out
- 32:22there. You can find me right here on the network, co hosting a
- 32:24show called house Lights where we look at the work of directors, And as
- 32:29we record this, we're getting ready to actually look at Tron and Tron Legacy,
- 32:35just to see the approach of two different directors to the same topics spread
- 32:39out over a couple of decades, and you know how that sort of cultural
- 32:45approach to computer technology has changed over time, especially as we're potentially looking at
- 32:52a third Tron movie. So that'll be interesting. But that's where you can
- 32:57find me. They know where they can find you. So Matt, I
- 33:00think it's time to close these negotiations, John, negotiations are closed. Join
- 33:13the Revolution, Join the Nerd Party.
