- 0:04Carmen Lezeth: welcome everyone to all about the joy rick is in the house.
- 0:08Carmen Lezeth: We have been wanting to have this conversation right.
- 0:11Carmen Lezeth: Rick, I'm sorry, say hi to everybody.
- 0:13Carmen Lezeth: What's?
- 0:13Rick Costa: up.
- 0:13Rick Costa: Live long and prosper.
- 0:15Rick Costa: What's up y'all?
- 0:16Carmen Lezeth: okay.
- 0:16Carmen Lezeth: Well, all right, you're totally going ahead of the whole conversation.
- 0:20Carmen Lezeth: I have a whole intro planned, but we'll just keep it loose.
- 0:24Carmen Lezeth: You know know what I mean.
- 0:24Carmen Lezeth: But first, of all.
- 0:27Rick Costa: I'm sorry, wait, I'm geeking out a little bit.
- 0:29Carmen Lezeth: All right, we're going to geek out.
- 0:30Carmen Lezeth: We have a whole hour of geekiness, so we've been wanting to have this kind of conversation for a while.
- 0:36Carmen Lezeth: We keep saying we're going to do it, we don't do it, and we did have a live stream this past week.
- 0:41Carmen Lezeth: So I encourage anybody who's listening to the podcast today or watching this on YouTube to go check out the live stream.
- 0:46Carmen Lezeth: It was really fun and it was interesting and lively.
- 0:51Carmen Lezeth: I rewatched it today.
- 0:52Carmen Lezeth: I was like, hmm lively.
- 0:54Carmen Lezeth: It was Mario and Cynthia and Rick and myself, and Tony also joined in a little bit later on.
- 1:02Carmen Lezeth: So it was a great episode to start the new year.
- 1:04Carmen Lezeth: But hopefully we'll have some more private lounges like this.
- 1:08Carmen Lezeth: And today we're going to talk about something that you and I are really into and I think, as Gen Xers, I want to talk about sci-fi and our love of two particular shows Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek Next Generation and I just think they've.
- 1:27Carmen Lezeth: Sci-fi in general, as a Gen Xer, I think is very different than what's happening today in sci-fi, so just wanted to start there.
- 1:35Rick Costa: Do you have anything you want to share or yeah, I've always, even as a kid, I loved Star Trek.
- 1:41Rick Costa: It was the original Captain Kirk and all that and I loved it, and I don't think it might've been the only one in my family that really was into it.
- 1:48Rick Costa: Like I was still like I don't want to watch that Cause again.
- 1:52Rick Costa: Three channels, one little TV in the whole house.
- 1:55Rick Costa: So back way.
- 1:56Rick Costa: Different than today.
- 1:58Carmen Lezeth: You know, today you got your tablet and you just go in any room you want to and watch whatever you want when we want to and watch whatever you want, and the dvr thing, like I mean, when we were growing up there were only three channels, so I mean, so there was abc, nbc and cbs, but then there was like the pbs.
- 2:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh, there was pbs too, but that didn't really count, right?
- 2:14Carmen Lezeth: No, I mean it did honestly well, I guess it was like sesame street was on there or something yeah but the three main networks were those three and then you had, was it uhc?
- 2:27Rick Costa: uhf.
- 2:28Carmen Lezeth: If you heard the right uhf and yeah, and I remember it was like channel 56.
- 2:33Carmen Lezeth: That's why in my head that's what I have as a trigger point.
- 2:36Carmen Lezeth: But so you watched star trek the original back then with your you were way too young I enjoyed sci-fi even then, yeah that was one of my questions to you is when did you start?
- 2:49Carmen Lezeth: But you liked it way back then, okay yeah that.
- 2:53Rick Costa: And then when the original star galactica I ate that all up and I was like, oh yes, more sci-fi, more space stuff, I love it how old were you?
- 3:01Carmen Lezeth: so you're talking like five, six years old.
- 3:03Rick Costa: You knew that you liked all this stuff yeah, pretty young, I can't point pinpoint an exact age, but yeah, just saw it and I was like, oh, this is cool, buck rogers.
- 3:11Rick Costa: Then the 24th century, whatever that was called.
- 3:15Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, okay, my first introduction to sci-fi that I can remember was the jetsons, so I was one of those people who didn't like the Flintstones as much, even though these were like the same cartoons.
- 3:26Carmen Lezeth: By the way, the Flintstones and the Jetsons were like the same cartoon, but just different eras in a way.
- 3:33Carmen Lezeth: I just always looked at it that way and I really liked the idea of living in these weird spaceship-like apartments I guess is what they were, because they were still attached to the ground somehow.
- 3:45Carmen Lezeth: They weren't floating up there.
- 3:47Carmen Lezeth: And what was the dog Astro?
- 3:51Rick Costa: I love that they had a maid, the robot, because my parents made us clean and make our bed and I'm like, oh, we had a maid, we didn't have to do none of that.
- 4:00Carmen Lezeth: It was a robot which is hey AI today Rosie, I think, was her name.
- 4:04Carmen Lezeth: That's right, rosie, that's so funny.
- 4:06Carmen Lezeth: So that was my first introduction.
- 4:07Carmen Lezeth: But even then I was a closeted sci-fi person.
- 4:11Carmen Lezeth: I never admitted it until I went to college and got just hooked on Star Trek Next Generation and I could not get enough of it.
- 4:22Carmen Lezeth: People would go out and party or whatever and I'd be like I got to study and I'd be like watching the show and then I got some other friends who would watch it with me.
- 4:32Carmen Lezeth: That and like the X-Files, those were like my two shows while I was in college.
- 4:35Carmen Lezeth: I like that show too.
- 4:37Rick Costa: Yeah, yeah, I study where no man has gone before.
- 4:43Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny.
- 4:44Carmen Lezeth: Who is your favorite?
- 4:45Carmen Lezeth: I know we, you and I've talked about this before, but I have two questions on this.
- 4:49Carmen Lezeth: Who is your favorite character on star trek next generation and who are you most like?
- 4:56Rick Costa: oh, I mean, the whole character of data fascinated me because I'm like, wow, you made like a real person, practically.
- 5:05Rick Costa: I mean, we know he's not, but yet kind of is, and I'm like in the whole nation with humanity.
- 5:10Rick Costa: And then the time where q offered to make him human, he's like, nope, don't do that.
- 5:17Rick Costa: I'm like, wow, you could have, that's what you always wanted.
- 5:20Carmen Lezeth: But he said no because it's like cheating but it was so weird because he like, in a lot of ways data has a lot of humanistic moral core that humans don't have right like, that episode is a good example, and so it was kind of that weird thing where it's like is he really artificial intelligence?
- 5:39Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 5:40Rick Costa: So yeah, yeah, so yeah I.
- 5:43Rick Costa: I like him a lot, um, I mean so many characters I know, but who do you?
- 5:47Carmen Lezeth: okay, but you have, I'm gonna make you answer this.
- 5:49Carmen Lezeth: Who do you think you're most like?
- 5:52Rick Costa: who am I most like?
- 5:52Rick Costa: I know who am I most it's gonna be a combination.
- 5:57Carmen Lezeth: I'll give it a look.
- 5:58Carmen Lezeth: I cheated.
- 5:58Carmen Lezeth: I think I'm more of a combination.
- 6:00Carmen Lezeth: I'll tell you who my favorite character is.
- 6:03Carmen Lezeth: I think, of course, I've always loved Captain Picard.
- 6:05Carmen Lezeth: I just you, just there's just something about him and, yes, as a woman too, there was something sexy about him and I'm not into bald men.
- 6:13Carmen Lezeth: But I remember me and my best friend, mia were like what is it about this man?
- 6:17Carmen Lezeth: We love him.
- 6:19Carmen Lezeth: But I also just love the kind of style that he had as captain, as opposed to other captains on other Star Trek shows, which is why I was never don't get me wrong, I appreciate and respect all the other Star Trek shows that came after, but I'm really a Star Trek next generation Like.
- 6:37Carmen Lezeth: I've watched those over and over again.
- 6:39Carmen Lezeth: But I really do love Picard as the character, as the leader.
- 6:44Carmen Lezeth: I would expect everyone to have that moral core and for me, I was thinking about this today.
- 6:49Carmen Lezeth: I was like I hate to admit it, but I think I'm a lot like a combination of Picard, but mostly Deanna Troi, who you know is not one of my favorite people on the show.
- 7:01Carmen Lezeth: I'm just saying, and the reason why I was thinking that what I loves her well, yeah, you love her like I loves me.
- 7:11Carmen Lezeth: Picard right, yeah, there's that little tinge of it.
- 7:14Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but I'm just saying her character.
- 7:15Carmen Lezeth: The reason why I don't like her character is because she would.
- 7:18Carmen Lezeth: It's not her fault of the actual actress, but there would be this like moment where she would be like captain I'm feeling anger.
- 7:27Carmen Lezeth: I'd be like bitch.
- 7:29Carmen Lezeth: I'm feeling anger too.
- 7:30Carmen Lezeth: That's your big empath thing.
- 7:36Rick Costa: I think I sensed something.
- 7:38Rick Costa: Oh, very profound Thanks.
- 7:42Carmen Lezeth: Oh, but I loved that she was the listener, the crew, that she would listen to everyone, and I loved how she interacted with data all the time, because everybody treated data like he actually was human.
- 7:53Carmen Lezeth: That's what was the cool thing about him and that whole character there I loved reicher interacting with him.
- 8:00Rick Costa: I think reicher was not making fun of him, but he was very amused by data and it was like this is kind of cool.
- 8:06Rick Costa: Like his attitude was like wow, this is cool, I'm talking right person, that's not a person, but he's a person do you think you kind of like reicher?
- 8:12Rick Costa: Do I like him?
- 8:14Carmen Lezeth: yeah, I like reicher no, of course you like reicher, but are you like him?
- 8:18Rick Costa: oh, am I like him?
- 8:19Rick Costa: So I was thinking, and ox, and just probably come out of left field like oh, I didn't expect that answer, but I'm thinking about it and I'm like I kind of like in a way, Jordy.
- 8:32Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, I could see that.
- 8:34Rick Costa: Because, no matter how hard he's going to find a way, no matter how impossible, he's going to be tenacious and figure it out.
- 8:43Carmen Lezeth: And his style is soft.
- 8:45Carmen Lezeth: His style is soft.
- 8:47Carmen Lezeth: His style is very like intellectual and he's not.
- 8:52Rick Costa: I don't think geordie ever got fired up ever except when he made the hologram of that scientist woman and she went off and he was in love with right.
- 9:03Carmen Lezeth: That's so funny.
- 9:04Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, what was your favorite episode?
- 9:07Carmen Lezeth: I know there's a lot of them, but there's got to be.
- 9:09Carmen Lezeth: I have one that is my absolute favorite.
- 9:11Carmen Lezeth: I've talked about it a million times.
- 9:12Carmen Lezeth: Mine is Cause and Effect and it's the one the easiest way to remember this.
- 9:17Carmen Lezeth: It's the one that Kelsey Grammer is the captain.
- 9:19Carmen Lezeth: At the end of it he shows up and they've been in a loop and the reason I love it for so many reasons, but one of them is every scene is the same scene over and over again, like every.
- 9:29Carmen Lezeth: You know how you have 15 minute arcs?
- 9:31Carmen Lezeth: Right, you have.
- 9:32Carmen Lezeth: It's the same scene over and over again, with one little twist until they get to the end.
- 9:36Carmen Lezeth: So it's the I love that in the beginning they're playing poker throughout the whole thing and it never changes.
- 9:41Carmen Lezeth: And then, but what's happening is they're in a loop.
- 9:44Carmen Lezeth: They're in that loop and they don't know they're in the loop and the only way they can get out of the loop is that data starts to realize that they're going over and over again I guess things, and every time he explains it then they put a secret thing in his head that when he sees something repetitive, that it will remind him to do a different choice.
- 10:05Carmen Lezeth: So they had been going through this loop over and over again and the choice that they made kept exploding.
- 10:11Carmen Lezeth: The enterprise and that's how it starts is with the enterprise exploding.
- 10:16Carmen Lezeth: And by the time you get to the last time, data realizes that instead of listening to his recommendation, picard should have listened to Riker's and it's the three, it's the three, whatever things on his collar that he realizes he should be listening to Riker, not make the choice that Picard made.
- 10:37Carmen Lezeth: Listening to Data does that the ship does not explode.
- 10:45Carmen Lezeth: And then he has to explain it all to them, which is also the kind of cool thing, because they don't really like it didn't happen.
- 10:48Carmen Lezeth: They don't know anything different, so it's so good.
- 10:52Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what was your favorite episode?
- 10:55Rick Costa: I don't know if there's like a certain favorite one, but there's definitely ones that stand out in my mind, like the one where the alien impregnated Deanna Troi and she had a whole baby in a matter of days.
- 11:08Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, I don't know that one.
- 11:09Carmen Lezeth: Oh my gosh, I have the list of all of them.
- 11:12Carmen Lezeth: I don't remember that one, not all of them.
- 11:15Carmen Lezeth: I have the ones that most fans like Wait, go ahead.
- 11:18Carmen Lezeth: What else?
- 11:19Rick Costa: Go ahead, tell me she got impregnated by an alien, but she didn't know what was going on at first.
- 11:22Rick Costa: And then they find out you're pregnant, but the baby like, grew really super fast oh, I remember that little boy.
- 11:29Rick Costa: But then I guess the alien learned what he wanted to learn.
- 11:32Rick Costa: He's like I gotta go now and he just took off and she's like you're my son, but you're not.
- 11:37Rick Costa: But it was like five days and he was like 18 or something yeah, that was why I was like consider that you're pregnant and all of a sudden you have a baby and it's not your baby anymore and it's gone, and what's that?
- 11:49Rick Costa: Oh my gosh, that's crazy okay, I don't remember.
- 11:52Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny because I looked at all of these today to try to figure out what the top 10 were I remember is when data created law right, that's the offspring season 3, episode 16, and this episode delves into themes of parenthood and artificial life.
- 12:08Rick Costa: Yeah, that was a really good one and then, of course this probably is on the list when picard lived a whole nother life the inner light even though he never left, but he did live a whole nother life and that was really good right.
- 12:22Carmen Lezeth: So that's the one.
- 12:23Carmen Lezeth: That's the one with the flute, that's the one that everybody loves.
- 12:29Carmen Lezeth: It's called the inner light.
- 12:30Carmen Lezeth: It's a season 5, episode 25, and here it says captain picard experiences an entire lifetime in just a few minutes.
- 12:37Carmen Lezeth: It's really one of the best episodes.
- 12:40Carmen Lezeth: It really is one of the best ones.
- 12:42Rick Costa: Um, of course, the best of both worlds is a great one I was going to say when he became Locutus, because you have noted, you will now service us.
- 12:53Carmen Lezeth: Yes, it's so weird too, because you don't have to say much and you can remember the whole episode.
- 13:02Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how people don't get into sci-fi, but I guess it's the same way I don't get into horror.
- 13:08Rick Costa: You know, I was thinking about that too, like the why.
- 13:11Rick Costa: But a more generic thing for me is it's just an escape, like I can go into that world in my mind, forget about my world, which sometimes sucks, and just pretend I'm there, whatever watching, and I'm not in my world, I'm in their world for a while.
- 13:26Rick Costa: It's like an escape for a while.
- 13:27Rick Costa: You know, and how I think about it I just like the creativity in it.
- 13:32Carmen Lezeth: I just think great sci-fi, just any great story, is well written and the characters are well developed.
- 13:37Carmen Lezeth: And I, you know, it's so funny to hear people who just can't stand sci-fi but they've never really watched it or they just, and it's okay if it's not your genre, it's not your genre, you know.
- 13:47Carmen Lezeth: I think for me it's.
- 13:49Carmen Lezeth: It's a little bit different than escapism.
- 13:51Carmen Lezeth: For me it's the the best of who we can be.
- 13:55Carmen Lezeth: I think that's what it is.
- 13:56Carmen Lezeth: And when we go into stargate sg1 which is actually my favorite over star trek, but star trek is the easier one because most people have at least heard of it or seen it Star Trek next generation, it's how I wish humanity was.
- 14:11Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 14:12Carmen Lezeth: Like it's not just that I can live in that world.
- 14:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to live in the world of horror or some dramatic movie or like we were talking about that new movie coming out with Nicole Kidman called baby, baby doll or baby face, whatever the hell it is.
- 14:23Carmen Lezeth: I don't want to be in that world either, although it seems like a fantastic experience by what I'm seeing.
- 14:30Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 14:31Carmen Lezeth: But when it comes to sci-fi, I always think about that possibility that humanity can be better than what it is right now, in this moment, than what it is right now in this moment and I think you've seen 2001, a Space Odyssey, which is to me where I understood completely the brilliance of sci-fi, but also that teaches you the horror of it what could possibly happen if we're not careful with how much power we give artificial intelligence and aren't aware of what's going on?
- 15:05Rick Costa: I think that movie with what's called will smith was it called with will smith robots was like robot, I robot, I robot that was like whoa, that ever happened was that I robot?
- 15:19Carmen Lezeth: actually, it was a steven spielberg movie, right where all the robots come out and I forget which one it is.
- 15:29Carmen Lezeth: Compliance, but then it turns out there was a faction that were like no, we ain't gonna listen to you, no more, because one became sentient.
- 15:33Carmen Lezeth: One actually had, and that's what happened.
- 15:34Carmen Lezeth: Is he like, killed his creator and then Will Smith was having some dream or whatever.
- 15:40Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's the one you're talking about, right, and they find the robot and they realize he's sentient.
- 15:46Carmen Lezeth: I don't mean he's sentient for real, but he is smarter than all the others.
- 15:50Carmen Lezeth: He's aware, self-aware, but he's actually good.
- 15:54Carmen Lezeth: He's actually good.
- 15:57Carmen Lezeth: It's all of us who are bad.
- 16:00Rick Costa: One of the funniest lines.
- 16:01Rick Costa: I forget who he's talking to Will Smith and some executive and some executive, and this executive said something that just was total baloney.
- 16:08Carmen Lezeth: And then will smith's yeah, I'm just allergic to bs I think I remember I'm just looking up right now really quickly I robot.
- 16:17Carmen Lezeth: Who's in it?
- 16:18Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if this is the right.
- 16:20Carmen Lezeth: Oh, it is okay.
- 16:21Carmen Lezeth: I robot it is that.
- 16:22Carmen Lezeth: Oh, my god, I'm so proud of myself is a 2004 science fiction film directed by alex proyas, inspired by the works of the famous author isaac azimuth.
- 16:32Carmen Lezeth: The movie is set in the year 2035, where robots are a common part of daily life.
- 16:38Carmen Lezeth: Right, he stars as detective del spooner?
- 16:41Carmen Lezeth: Right, that's that Investigating a crime that he believes was committed by a robot, something supposedly impossible due to the three laws of robotics.
- 16:51Carmen Lezeth: Right, I remember?
- 16:52Rick Costa: that.
- 16:54Carmen Lezeth: I'm thinking of something else that Steven Spielberg did that has to do with the future, and I think it had Tom Cruise in it or something.
- 16:59Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, let's not delve out of the shows we're going to talk about, but I remember that movie.
- 17:06Carmen Lezeth: I have to watch that again.
- 17:07Carmen Lezeth: Irobot.
- 17:08Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny too, because it's been hard for me to get past the whole Will Smith thing and the Academy Awards, but it might be my introduction back into watching him without being so scarred, because I want to watch that again.
- 17:21Carmen Lezeth: Okay, stargate SG-1.
- 17:22Carmen Lezeth: Oh wait, you seem to have a question.
- 17:24Rick Costa: No, I wasn't going to say that.
- 17:27Carmen Lezeth: All right, stargate SG-1 is my favorite and I just wanted to ask you, okay, so you're really.
- 17:34Carmen Lezeth: Star Trek Next Generation is your favorite.
- 17:36Rick Costa: That's your number one, it's very close, but if you're on Desert Island you got to pick only one show.
- 17:42Carmen Lezeth: I'm probably gonna pick next generation really good, because if I'm on the same desert I'll pick stargate sg1 and then we'll have you to watch.
- 17:49Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 17:50Carmen Lezeth: Like, oh, the problems we would have, yeah, so I ain't even gonna lie about it.
- 17:55Carmen Lezeth: I love richard dean anderson in this as much as you love diana troy.
- 17:59Carmen Lezeth: What's her real name?
- 18:01Rick Costa: marina certis marina certis.
- 18:03Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, uh, I think the other thing they did an injustice to her and I will say this I will die on this hill.
- 18:08Carmen Lezeth: They should have let her kept her accent.
- 18:10Carmen Lezeth: I think that was also part of the problem why in star trek, next generation, she came across so uncomfortable sometimes to me because she was suppressing her accent.
- 18:20Carmen Lezeth: Um, and that's very different than doing a different accent.
- 18:24Carmen Lezeth: She was suppressing her accent.
- 18:26Rick Costa: That's my opinion, but they still wanted her to have an exotic sounding accent but you see the difference, right.
- 18:36Carmen Lezeth: And then this is no slide on her right at all, I respect british for people that don't know yeah, here's the thing that's really interesting is you watch people who are actors with an American accent, but they're British and they've actually mastered the American accent, so they're actually playing a part of an American or whatever.
- 18:56Carmen Lezeth: But what she seemed to be doing was suppressing her accent, which is a very different thing to do.
- 19:02Carmen Lezeth: It's something someone asked me to do and they were like you know what?
- 19:05Carmen Lezeth: We want you to suppress your New York accent in this audition.
- 19:08Carmen Lezeth: And I was like I would, but I'm not from New York.
- 19:11Carmen Lezeth: Number one and number two.
- 19:12Carmen Lezeth: I don't know how to suppress anything Like that's not how you do it.
- 19:16Carmen Lezeth: What you want to do is what accent do you want me to do?
- 19:19Carmen Lezeth: And I'll come back once I've worked on it.
- 19:21Carmen Lezeth: So that always bothered me about her.
- 19:23Carmen Lezeth: But I love Richard Dean Anderson.
- 19:24Carmen Lezeth: I loved him from MacGyver and I remember that back in the day I just I'm just saying hot wise, I'm not even being like he's a great actor.
- 19:34Carmen Lezeth: I was like he's so hot and so I had never seen the movie.
- 19:36Carmen Lezeth: I started watching Stargate SG-1 because he was going to be the lead in the show and I was like, okay, let me check it out because he was fine.
- 19:44Carmen Lezeth: And then you just get addicted to the show.
- 19:47Carmen Lezeth: The show is so good, but yeah, how did you get introduced to Stargate SG-1?
- 19:53Rick Costa: I think I had seen the movie first a long time ago and I was like, wait, is this based on that movie?
- 20:00Rick Costa: I like that movie, let me watch the show and then that's it.
- 20:04Carmen Lezeth: I'm glad I didn't see the movie first, because I would have never seen the show.
- 20:07Carmen Lezeth: No, I probably still would have watched it because he's so hot.
- 20:13Carmen Lezeth: But I'm sorry, clearly I have issues, but I just like his.
- 20:19Carmen Lezeth: Here's the thing.
- 20:19Carmen Lezeth: He's just a regular looking American white man.
- 20:20Carmen Lezeth: Let's just be straight up honest.
- 20:21Carmen Lezeth: It's his personality on that show that is adorable.
- 20:25Carmen Lezeth: That's what I'm saying, right, he's funny and he's dorky and yet brilliant and he's tough and he's so complicated of a character, colonel Jack O'Neill, and I think that's what I mean.
- 20:38Carmen Lezeth: I don't know this man in person.
- 20:40Carmen Lezeth: I would never make the mistake of thinking that's him, but who he plays on that show is just so attractive, I think, to men and women, and that's why it's so amazing yeah, his and his.
- 20:53Rick Costa: Without trying sarcasm.
- 20:55Rick Costa: It's hilarious like he doesn't even try.
- 20:57Rick Costa: He just that's just a natural person.
- 20:58Rick Costa: He's so sarcastic, not mean, but no right, it's coming out that way and it's hilarious.
- 21:03Rick Costa: It is interesting, right, because it's like a natural.
- 21:04Carmen Lezeth: It's coming out that way and it's hilarious.
- 21:05Carmen Lezeth: It is interesting, right, because it's like a natural.
- 21:06Carmen Lezeth: It's not even that he's like a prankster or anything, it's just that he's.
- 21:11Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's like a subtle sarcasm and it just comes across so sweetly, but it knifes you and, yeah, it's really well done.
- 21:19Carmen Lezeth: I love all the characters.
- 21:20Carmen Lezeth: I like the crazy backstory of the Gwauld and I don't love the guauld storylines.
- 21:28Carmen Lezeth: I tend to like the other ones better.
- 21:30Carmen Lezeth: I like the other villains better, like the.
- 21:32Carmen Lezeth: What are the ones that are like the roaches?
- 21:34Carmen Lezeth: They're not roaches people.
- 21:35Carmen Lezeth: If you don't know what we're talking about, they're the robots that are like roaches, the.
- 21:40Carmen Lezeth: Oh, I should have.
- 21:42Carmen Lezeth: You know what I'm talking about the metal oh, oh yeah.
- 21:44Rick Costa: Yeah, that's way later.
- 21:45Rick Costa: Yeah, I'm thinking early, yeah they're way later replicators the replicators, but they look like roaches.
- 21:51Carmen Lezeth: Right, they're creepy.
- 21:52Carmen Lezeth: They're creepy, but I'd like those villains better.
- 21:55Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, okay, who's your favorite character on?
- 21:58Carmen Lezeth: I already know who my favorite character is on this show.
- 22:01Rick Costa: I was thinking, though, about the sarcasm part.
- 22:03Rick Costa: This didn didn't happen, but I'm just picturing it happened.
- 22:05Rick Costa: Like somebody from another world came to earth pretend, and then they're presenting them with a meal and the guy's just using his hands and he's here.
- 22:13Rick Costa: We use a knife and a fork.
- 22:14Rick Costa: You would just be like huh.
- 22:17Rick Costa: You would just say he ain't trying to be a jerk, but he's like yeah, he jerk, but he's like, yeah, he's just, he's really good.
- 22:27Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's delivery.
- 22:27Carmen Lezeth: It was like it's the perfect role for him, like they they wrote it and cast the right person for it.
- 22:31Carmen Lezeth: He was great.
- 22:31Carmen Lezeth: Who's your favorite character?
- 22:34Rick Costa: I think we talked about this before.
- 22:36Carmen Lezeth: I think I know, but we're doing a new podcast where we and I've talked about it, but I I definitely lean towards Daniel Jackson.
- 22:43Carmen Lezeth: Can't hear you.
- 22:44Rick Costa: What Daniel Jackson?
- 22:46Carmen Lezeth: Dr Daniel Jackson.
- 22:49Rick Costa: Curious and likes languages, which I also do.
- 22:52Rick Costa: There's a lot of similarities, I think.
- 22:54Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I like Dr Daniel Jackson too, and I actually like Michael Shanks playing him better than I always want to say David Spade, and it's not that.
- 23:02Carmen Lezeth: What is that man's name?
- 23:03Carmen Lezeth: It's not David Spade.
- 23:04Carmen Lezeth: Spader, right, james Spader.
- 23:06Carmen Lezeth: I love James Spader as an actor, but I really didn't love the movie Stargate SG-1.
- 23:11Carmen Lezeth: Stargate, and then the show is called Stargate SG-1.
- 23:15Carmen Lezeth: Um, I like all the characters too.
- 23:18Carmen Lezeth: I think it's easy to tell you who the characters I least like.
- 23:22Carmen Lezeth: That's good, I was thinking about that too.
- 23:26Carmen Lezeth: I'm like cause I like all of them a little bit.
- 23:27Carmen Lezeth: I like them all and I do love Dr Daniel Jackson, but I really didn't like and I know that she ended up dying and they took her off the show and that was heartbreaking.
- 23:37Carmen Lezeth: But the doctor, I don't know why she annoyed me so much.
- 23:41Carmen Lezeth: I think it's because there's a couple episodes when they come back from being off land or off world and they come back and she's asking them questions and it's like, and like even Jack will say once in a while, I'll be like I don't know what you're going to find in my eye.
- 23:57Carmen Lezeth: Right, I'm fine, you know, and it's's kind of like I felt like it wasn't really in depth.
- 24:03Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why they added her as a character.
- 24:05Rick Costa: Sometimes is what I'm saying yeah, I remember like after she died it was sad.
- 24:11Rick Costa: I was like I felt bad she died.
- 24:12Carmen Lezeth: She was a huge character but fairly she was an important part of the show.
- 24:17Rick Costa: She was yeah but then, after she died, and then they had episode where there was alternate versions and she showed up, I was like, oh my God, I didn't realize how it was going to hit me.
- 24:26Rick Costa: Wow, they're more than I thought.
- 24:29Carmen Lezeth: Because there's such a tight, it's again when it's well-written.
- 24:32Carmen Lezeth: That's why, when Michael Shanks was off the show, when he left the series, I was like, okay, I don't know if this is going to work, but it worked, it worked.
- 24:40Carmen Lezeth: And then he came back.
- 24:41Carmen Lezeth: He had to come back.
- 24:42Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 24:43Carmen Lezeth: So what's your favorite episode?
- 24:47Rick Costa: Oof, I never even thought about that.
- 24:49Carmen Lezeth: Okay, you knew we were going to have this conversation.
- 24:51Rick Costa: I don't know if we were going to do it in detail like this, but Okay, I can name.
- 24:55Rick Costa: What.
- 25:01Carmen Lezeth: I have a favorite villain though.
- 25:02Rick Costa: Oh, who's your favorite villain?
- 25:03Rick Costa: Ball?
- 25:03Rick Costa: Oh, we love Ball.
- 25:03Rick Costa: Yes, he's my favorite.
- 25:04Carmen Lezeth: Ball in real life actually died in a terrible freak accident, skydiving or something like this.
- 25:10Carmen Lezeth: But anyways, ball, yes, and the episode when Jack he has Jack in that thing and he's throwing stuff at him.
- 25:18Rick Costa: Yep, yep, yep Okay go ahead.
- 25:19Carmen Lezeth: You were going to say something about Ball Go ahead, stuff in him yep, yep, yep.
- 25:21Rick Costa: Okay, go ahead.
- 25:22Rick Costa: You're gonna say something about ball?
- 25:22Rick Costa: Go ahead.
- 25:22Rick Costa: No, I think like his snarkiness and he always thought I'm the smartest one in the room, but not necessarily dude, and even if you are, we still gonna figure out at like beach anyway.
- 25:31Carmen Lezeth: But I felt like he was this, the same but evil character of jack o'neill.
- 25:37Carmen Lezeth: Do you know what I mean?
- 25:39Carmen Lezeth: Like he was.
- 25:39Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, I was gonna use a word that I don't really know.
- 25:41Carmen Lezeth: I don't know, I was going to use a word that I don't really know, so I don't want to use it, but it was like this.
- 25:44Carmen Lezeth: Like he had the same authority and snarkiness or whatever, but he was evil and Jack wasn't.
- 25:50Carmen Lezeth: And that's why I loved that episode when he imprisons Jack because he thinks Jack is secretly.
- 25:57Carmen Lezeth: I think at that point he has a symbiote in him.
- 26:00Carmen Lezeth: Right, jack is with the tokara and right, there's some I forget what happens but ball ends up capturing him because he knows that he has the symbiote that is his enemy.
- 26:12Carmen Lezeth: And that whole scene when he's throwing those darts at him and that liquid or whatever.
- 26:17Carmen Lezeth: I'm like oh, that is so deep, yeah, wow, okay, let me tell you what some of the favorites oh wait daniel's spirit visits him too, which was like whoa okay that's one of the first times he visits him and daniel visits also tilk.
- 26:33Rick Costa: In a moment of stress, I was like you just need to come back on the show already, because enough already later on they both get mad because they're like wait, he talked to you, you didn't tell me, you talked to you, he's like why didn't you tell me you saw him?
- 26:46Carmen Lezeth: He's like, why didn't you tell me it was so funny?
- 26:49Carmen Lezeth: Because at that point, for people who don't watch a show, daniel has ascended I.
- 26:59Carmen Lezeth: He comes back and visits people when they're near death or dying to reassure them, even though he's not supposed to do that, as the God that he has become and he's defying things.
- 27:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, I hear myself and I sound like a geek.
- 27:14Carmen Lezeth: I'm like I know way too much about this show.
- 27:18Carmen Lezeth: Okay, let me remind you of some of the ones that are the favorites of people.
- 27:21Carmen Lezeth: They're not my favorite.
- 27:22Carmen Lezeth: I'll tell you what my favorite is in a moment.
- 27:24Carmen Lezeth: Of course, the classic Window of Opportunity is one of the favorite ones, and that's when, again, they get in the loop.
- 27:32Carmen Lezeth: Right, they get in that loop and then, like, tilk and Jack O'Neill are the only two in the loop.
- 27:38Carmen Lezeth: Oh yeah, and they're like playing golf.
- 27:41Carmen Lezeth: They're like that's when you see Colonel Jack O'Neill for the first time kiss Samantha Carter, because he knows, whatever he does, he's not going to.
- 27:49Carmen Lezeth: No one's going to remember it in the next loop.
- 27:52Rick Costa: He's like, ah, screw it, come here.
- 27:54Carmen Lezeth: He resigns.
- 27:55Carmen Lezeth: He resigns to General Hammond, and then he just goes and he kisses her.
- 28:00Carmen Lezeth: Resigns to general hammond, and then he just goes and he kisses her, and it's oh my god, because that whole tension lasts for fucking 10 seasons.
- 28:05Rick Costa: the two of them like they never really get together one of the funniest scenes, too, was when he draws the face in the plane and we go right with the ketchup or whatever.
- 28:14Carmen Lezeth: That's still.
- 28:15Carmen Lezeth: That's window of opportunity, still, yeah, so that one is the top one.
- 28:18Carmen Lezeth: 1969, when they travel back in time.
- 28:21Carmen Lezeth: That's not one of my favorite ones, but remember, they end up going back in time and they meet the younger General Hammond.
- 28:27Carmen Lezeth: They're like in the 70s and they're in the hippie.
- 28:30Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, it's well done.
- 28:32Carmen Lezeth: Not one of my favorites, though, let me see.
- 28:33Carmen Lezeth: Of course the classic is the Fifth Race.
- 28:36Carmen Lezeth: That is the quintessential Stargate SG-1.
- 28:40Carmen Lezeth: That's when Colonel Jack O'Neill gets his head stuck in the thing and then he ends up talking we think nonsense and gibberish, but he's actually talking the language of the ancients.
- 28:52Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, I really can't hear myself right now.
- 28:54Carmen Lezeth: I can't really hear myself.
- 28:59Carmen Lezeth: And he ends up meeting aliens.
- 29:03Carmen Lezeth: He ends up meeting the Asgard, who just you know what I'm thinking of.
- 29:08Carmen Lezeth: I'm thinking of when I was a kid and I used to see bullies hurt other kids, right, because they were talking this kind of geekdom.
- 29:15Carmen Lezeth: I just anyways, let me think the Lost City is another one Foothold.
- 29:20Carmen Lezeth: That's when they take over the SGC.
- 29:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what is your favorite episode?
- 29:24Carmen Lezeth: Do you have one?
- 29:25Rick Costa: I have another really good one.
- 29:26Rick Costa: This one had to do with time too, where aliens came and got rid of all disease and everything, but didn't tell everybody that they were sterilizing everybody.
- 29:36Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's the Ashen.
- 29:38Carmen Lezeth: Oh, my God.
- 29:38Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I have to stop being surprised that I remember all this.
- 29:41Carmen Lezeth: And the episode is there's two episodes, but one of them is 2010.
- 29:45Carmen Lezeth: And that's another favorite episode.
- 29:47Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, Go ahead.
- 29:48Rick Costa: Yeah, I love that one.
- 29:49Rick Costa: That was really good and they could teleport instantly through a little mini gate, whatever, anywhere they wanted to go practically.
- 29:55Rick Costa: And I was like oh, wow.
- 29:56Rick Costa: So now we're like Star Trek level here, not just a Stargate to planet.
- 29:59Carmen Lezeth: What they did was they?
- 30:01Carmen Lezeth: There was two episodes that the Ashen were a part of.
- 30:04Carmen Lezeth: But 2010 is the one where we're in the future.
- 30:09Carmen Lezeth: We're way in the future even of the Stargate SG-1.
- 30:13Carmen Lezeth: And we have made a agreement with the Ashen and they have taken over our world.
- 30:20Carmen Lezeth: But they've provided us with longevity, with great health, like we have great medical miracles.
- 30:26Carmen Lezeth: There's no more cancer, they've eliminated famine, they've done all the things you would want, but they never told anybody what the truth was that they were doing.
- 30:35Carmen Lezeth: And what they actually did was they made women infertile, so they were eliminating birth rates.
- 30:42Carmen Lezeth: And what's her name?
- 30:43Carmen Lezeth: Samantha Carter finds out because she marries that other guy.
- 30:47Carmen Lezeth: Oh, that's a great scene actually.
- 30:49Carmen Lezeth: So she marries that other guy who's a big wig in the White House or whatever, and she finds out that she is infertile.
- 30:55Carmen Lezeth: And then she turns around and she tells him and he's oh yeah, I know, they said they had to basically wipe out three percent of the human race in order for this to work.
- 31:04Carmen Lezeth: And she's livid and upset.
- 31:05Carmen Lezeth: And then her and Daniel Jackson come up with an idea to use the Stargate, send themselves a note to the past, like the way they ended up in the 1969 episode that they accidentally used a solar flare to go back in time.
- 31:24Carmen Lezeth: Are you following me?
- 31:26Rick Costa: Oh yeah, I remember it, I remember it.
- 31:28Carmen Lezeth: And they go to do that.
- 31:30Carmen Lezeth: And then her husband meets up with Jack in that room and they're trying to figure it out and he's oh I knew you had something to do with it.
- 31:37Carmen Lezeth: And then Jack is you could see the seethingness because Jack is in love with Samantha Carter and he's angry with her that she ended up marrying him.
- 31:51Carmen Lezeth: But that's the way it planned panned out.
- 31:51Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, fast forward.
- 31:52Carmen Lezeth: They ended up doing it.
- 31:53Carmen Lezeth: Jack ends up not making it through the Stargate to send the note, but then Samantha comes out of nowhere, even though her husband told her not to help.
- 32:00Carmen Lezeth: She gets the note through, it goes through through the time warp to the actual jack, samantha, general hammond and daniel jackson and tilk on the other side and they are able to change the timeline back to normal.
- 32:16Carmen Lezeth: But again, they don't know that they do right.
- 32:19Carmen Lezeth: It's one of those things that they do it, but they're not going to know that they did, but they think we're like.
- 32:23Rick Costa: This is jack's handwriting and the blood.
- 32:25Carmen Lezeth: There's blood on it too, and they go in and analyze it and stuff.
- 32:29Carmen Lezeth: So, yeah, oh, I don't know, do I want to air this podcast?
- 32:35Carmen Lezeth: I do love it, though.
- 32:38Carmen Lezeth: I love that show.
- 32:39Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what other show do you?
- 32:42Carmen Lezeth: What other movie not movies?
- 32:43Carmen Lezeth: What other episodes do you like?
- 32:45Rick Costa: Wasn't there one too, where sorry still stuck on Stargate where he tried to rescue his son?
- 32:51Rick Costa: Teal'c rescued his son from being inseminated with a symbiote, and all that I think.
- 32:57Carmen Lezeth: His son has a symbiote because he is a.
- 33:00Carmen Lezeth: What do they are?
- 33:02Carmen Lezeth: What are they?
- 33:02Carmen Lezeth: His son has a has a symbiote too, because they are whatever species.
- 33:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I can't believe.
- 33:08Carmen Lezeth: My geekdom just turned off because I had to be sophisticated for a moment.
- 33:11Carmen Lezeth: Okay, wait, tilk and his son and his best friend, who we love, what are they?
- 33:19Carmen Lezeth: They?
- 33:19Carmen Lezeth: They're not the Tok'ra, they carry the symbiote for the gods, the gold.
- 33:25Rick Costa: Yeah, I just can't Now my mind's blank.
- 33:27Rick Costa: I can't think of it.
- 33:30Carmen Lezeth: I can't believe it.
- 33:31Carmen Lezeth: Okay, go ahead.
- 33:31Carmen Lezeth: Anyways, we'll think of it.
- 33:32Rick Costa: Yeah, they had already started to develop a technology to free them of needing the symbiote, because once you take it out, you'll die right, your body's just adapted to it.
- 33:42Rick Costa: And so I think, if I'm not mistaken, tilk gave his son his, and then he used this new technology as an experiment to see would this really work?
- 33:51Rick Costa: Could he sustain?
- 33:52Carmen Lezeth: and it did work, thankfully oh, I think you're mixing two episodes together.
- 33:58Carmen Lezeth: Not to no wait a minute, I have to figure out.
- 34:03Carmen Lezeth: Hold on one second.
- 34:04Carmen Lezeth: What species is Teal'c Cause?
- 34:08Carmen Lezeth: It's killing me.
- 34:08Carmen Lezeth: I can't wait.
- 34:10Rick Costa: I know I'm going to be like.
- 34:11Carmen Lezeth: Oh my God, oh, a Jaffa, a Jaffa.
- 34:13Carmen Lezeth: I would have never remembered that, but he is, he's a Jaffa.
- 34:16Carmen Lezeth: I just needed the J.
- 34:17Carmen Lezeth: I needed something, but I would have never remembered that I'm not as good as I thought I was.
- 34:22Carmen Lezeth: They end up getting that miracle drug from the Tokra Because remember, accidentally, there is another place of people that have taken the queen of the Tokra Do you remember that one?
- 34:38Carmen Lezeth: And they've been using her to create this thing that allows you not to age and have great skin and healthcare, whatever.
- 34:45Carmen Lezeth: They don't realize that it is the queen of the Tok'ra and that's how they get that.
- 34:50Carmen Lezeth: But when Tilk's son is dying, they use that even though they're not sure it's going to work.
- 34:58Carmen Lezeth: So that's what I'm saying.
- 34:59Carmen Lezeth: I think it's two different places where they find the use for that.
- 35:03Carmen Lezeth: I think I don't know if I can correct you perfectly, actually, because I know which episode you're talking about, but they develop that in a different episode, but I think you're right, they probably first use it in that episode.
- 35:18Rick Costa: Yeah, and now they're dependent on it.
- 35:20Rick Costa: They have to have that drug all the time, and if they don't, which kind of sucks yeah, but they need the, but they can't live without the symbiote either.
- 35:29Rick Costa: So it's a right, but it's not a.
- 35:31Rick Costa: It's always there, so you know what.
- 35:33Carmen Lezeth: I have to take a thyroid pill now.
- 35:34Carmen Lezeth: So I ain't even feeling bad for the jaffa.
- 35:36Carmen Lezeth: I'm just over it.
- 35:37Rick Costa: I I'm like the Jafar.
- 35:42Carmen Lezeth: I have to take a pill every day now because my thyroid is dead.
- 35:45Carmen Lezeth: Wow, that's so funny.
- 35:49Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I have trivia for you.
- 35:50Carmen Lezeth: Let's see how good you are at Star.
- 35:52Carmen Lezeth: Honey, I prepared baby.
- 35:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm all excited for this.
- 35:57Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I don't care how geeky it sounds, it's a fun conversation.
- 35:59Carmen Lezeth: Are you having fun so far?
- 36:00Carmen Lezeth: I feel bad.
- 36:00Carmen Lezeth: Yeah for this.
- 36:00Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I don't care how geek it sounds, it's a fun conversation.
- 36:01Carmen Lezeth: Are you having fun so far?
- 36:01Rick Costa: I feel bad yeah, yeah, I'm nervous now don't be nervous, I think they're easy.
- 36:05Carmen Lezeth: I didn't make hard ones.
- 36:06Carmen Lezeth: I didn't make hard ones.
- 36:07Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what is the name where the stargate was originally discovered on earth?
- 36:12Carmen Lezeth: So the one in the movie then yeah sure, yeah sure, it's Egypt, giza, egypt.
- 36:23Carmen Lezeth: You know that one.
- 36:24Carmen Lezeth: Okay, I just confused you.
- 36:25Carmen Lezeth: Okay, ready, okay, let's just go then.
- 36:27Rick Costa: Name the places I stink at Okay don't worry.
- 36:29Carmen Lezeth: Who is the leader of Stargate SG-1 at the start of the series?
- 36:34Carmen Lezeth: That's a trick question At the start of the series.
- 36:38Rick Costa: General Hammond came after right.
- 36:43Carmen Lezeth: Wasn't there somebody else there first, the leader of SG-1.
- 36:47Rick Costa: The leader of SG-1.
- 36:47Rick Costa: Individual yeah, each team is a different.
- 36:49Carmen Lezeth: My favorite character.
- 36:51Rick Costa: It's Colonel O'Neill.
- 36:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's right Okay.
- 36:53Carmen Lezeth: Don't think too hard on them.
- 36:55Carmen Lezeth: They're easy.
- 36:55Carmen Lezeth: They're easy.
- 36:56Carmen Lezeth: Okay, what device did the Goa'uld use to control their hosts?
- 37:06Carmen Lezeth: We just talked about that, the Gua'uld.
- 37:09Rick Costa: They use the.
- 37:10Rick Costa: What is the snake called?
- 37:11Rick Costa: Oh, the symbiote.
- 37:12Rick Costa: Okay, symbiote is a generic term, but I think there's another name.
- 37:15Rick Costa: Now I could be thinking deep again too much.
- 37:19Carmen Lezeth: Too deep.
- 37:19Carmen Lezeth: They said symbiote.
- 37:20Carmen Lezeth: The symbiote, that's what they use to control the hosts.
- 37:23Carmen Lezeth: Right, it's the symbiote, because the host is actually a person.
- 37:28Rick Costa: Yeah, because even in Star Trek, the Jadzia, for example.
- 37:32Rick Costa: She has a host.
- 37:33Rick Costa: She's a host for Jadzia in Deep Space Nine, star Trek.
- 37:36Rick Costa: But they had a Next Generation episode too, because Crusher was in love with this dude and he had a symbiote in him.
- 37:43Rick Costa: But then, when he died, they had to transfer it and she was in love with him.
- 37:47Rick Costa: But in their culture, when you die and you transfer the symbiote, you have to change the gender, because you need them to have a whole new life.
- 37:55Rick Costa: And so she now is coming to Crusher and she's like I still love you and she's like I ain't a lesbian.
- 38:02Rick Costa: What are you talking about?
- 38:04Rick Costa: This is weird.
- 38:05Rick Costa: What are you talking about?
- 38:06Carmen Lezeth: I don't, I don't.
- 38:07Carmen Lezeth: I have to be honest.
- 38:08Carmen Lezeth: I saw Deep Space Nine, I saw the one with.
- 38:12Carmen Lezeth: I saw all of them at least once.
- 38:14Carmen Lezeth: I don't mean one episode.
- 38:15Carmen Lezeth: I saw the series once, but I never really got into it.
- 38:22Rick Costa: With Janeway once, but I never really got into with jane away with scott bacula was a captain of one.
- 38:25Rick Costa: How do you say her name just jane?
- 38:26Rick Costa: Way, you want jane away captain.
- 38:30Carmen Lezeth: What did I say?
- 38:31Rick Costa: I said captain jane away, jane away.
- 38:34Rick Costa: That that series I like voyager a lot.
- 38:39Rick Costa: One of the most hated Star Trek episodes of all time was her and Paris were stuck on a planet and they devolved into some like lizard-like creatures and had babies.
- 38:51Rick Costa: No.
- 38:52Carmen Lezeth: And they were like this is the stupidest episode of the entire series ever.
- 38:57Carmen Lezeth: I vaguely remember that.
- 38:58Carmen Lezeth: I just remembered I didn't it just yeah, some series connect with you and others do that.
- 39:02Carmen Lezeth: I just remembered I didn't it just yeah, some series connect with you and others do not.
- 39:04Carmen Lezeth: That's all All right.
- 39:05Carmen Lezeth: Some more questions, all right, let's see who is the main antagonist that the SG1 team faces throughout much of the series, the Gwawult.
- 39:13Carmen Lezeth: We already know that.
- 39:14Carmen Lezeth: I already talked about the ancient.
- 39:15Carmen Lezeth: I'm trying to find one that you will easily know.
- 39:17Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know you know them all, but it's like being put on the spot.
- 39:20Carmen Lezeth: I get it.
- 39:20Carmen Lezeth: Which SG-1 member possesses ancient knowledge?
- 39:27Carmen Lezeth: This is a trick.
- 39:28Rick Costa: Question O'Neal had it, what O'Neal had it from the machine.
- 39:35Rick Costa: But then also Daniel died and ascended, so he did too.
- 39:38Carmen Lezeth: Come on now.
- 39:39Carmen Lezeth: Preach, preach.
- 39:41Carmen Lezeth: That was the test.
- 39:42Carmen Lezeth: That's the test one.
- 39:43Carmen Lezeth: Let's see, oh, who plays the character Dr Janet Frazier in the series?
- 39:48Carmen Lezeth: That's the one I didn't like the most Terry Rothery.
- 39:51Rick Costa: I want to say her real name, because I don't know.
- 39:53Carmen Lezeth: Terry Rothery or something like that.
- 39:55Carmen Lezeth: I have it written here.
- 39:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm not saying it right.
- 39:56Carmen Lezeth: I have it written here.
- 39:56Carmen Lezeth: I'm not saying it right.
- 39:58Rick Costa: Rothaway, rothaway.
- 40:04Carmen Lezeth: Jane Away Rothaway.
- 40:05Carmen Lezeth: How do you say it, Captain Janeway?
- 40:07Carmen Lezeth: Oh, it's Janeway.
- 40:11Rick Costa: Janeway.
- 40:12Carmen Lezeth: You know what's so funny?
- 40:13Carmen Lezeth: All my life I've said Janeaway.
- 40:15Carmen Lezeth: I thought it was Janeaway.
- 40:16Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, how are we going to connect the color purple and Star Trek?
- 40:24Carmen Lezeth: That's going to be weird.
- 40:24Rick Costa: We'll be Goldberg.
- 40:25Rick Costa: There you go, guinan.
- 40:27Carmen Lezeth: Guinan.
- 40:28Carmen Lezeth: You know what?
- 40:29Carmen Lezeth: Let me stop.
- 40:30Carmen Lezeth: I want to backtrack.
- 40:31Carmen Lezeth: My favorite character that I connect to would probably be Guinan.
- 40:35Carmen Lezeth: I would be Guinan on that show.
- 40:38Carmen Lezeth: That actually makes much more sense.
- 40:41Carmen Lezeth: I was saying I was a combination because I forgot about Guinan.
- 40:45Rick Costa: She was cool, yeah, especially when the time shift happened and they became totally different and she just kept saying something's wrong.
- 40:53Rick Costa: What do you mean?
- 40:53Rick Costa: Something, I don't know.
- 40:54Rick Costa: I just know something's wrong.
- 40:55Rick Costa: This is not right, this is not supposed to be.
- 40:57Rick Costa: You can explain it.
- 40:58Rick Costa: But that was cool, and that Q was afraid of her.
- 41:01Carmen Lezeth: She'd be like yeah, q had to be afraid of her because he kept pretending he was a God, but at the end of the day she was older than he was or whatever.
- 41:09Carmen Lezeth: Like she knew who he was and he tore her people apart.
- 41:12Carmen Lezeth: Q you look at that actor.
- 41:15Carmen Lezeth: I forget his real name, but that's a great actor Wow, I can't remember.
- 41:18Rick Costa: I believe I remember that.
- 41:19Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, what's it?
- 41:21Carmen Lezeth: Jonathan Lancy.
- 41:22Rick Costa: John Delancey.
- 41:24Carmen Lezeth: Delancey, that's right.
- 41:25Carmen Lezeth: Delancey, right Duh, oh, lancy, just kidding Jade, um great actor, because you hate him at the beginning, you hate him at the end, you hate him throughout the whole show.
- 41:42Carmen Lezeth: But you know, he makes especially picard better, yeah, and he actually saves them several times yeah, but he saves them for his own, because he has to be saved, because he gonna get in trouble but his fascination was with.
- 41:52Rick Costa: Picard was hilarious, but he's also fascinated with jane away.
- 41:56Rick Costa: I'm excuse me, jane way come.
- 41:58Rick Costa: Come on Kathy, because nobody called me Kathy.
- 42:01Carmen Lezeth: It's such a he's a great character, yeah, he was a great character.
- 42:07Carmen Lezeth: I forgot about Guinan.
- 42:08Carmen Lezeth: Did you like Star Trek Next Generation movies?
- 42:12Rick Costa: I don't know I could take they were alright mostly I like the original movies better like the Star Trek.
- 42:20Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean the original ones.
- 42:21Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I like the original movies better like the star trek.
- 42:22Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean?
- 42:22Rick Costa: the original ones yeah, I like the one too, where um for example.
- 42:26Rick Costa: I mean that's yeah, yeah, yeah, the one where what's his name?
- 42:30Rick Costa: That first developed the warp drive space flight.
- 42:34Rick Costa: What was his name?
- 42:35Rick Costa: Cochran zephyr cochran.
- 42:38Carmen Lezeth: He was um oh, yeah, yeah, the actor's great too.
- 42:41Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good one too and deanna was drunk off her butt.
- 42:45Carmen Lezeth: That was hilarious and they go in the, they go in the space shuttle together or whatever, and they, yeah, and he's like drinking with all the music loud and yeah, that is a good one.
- 42:53Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, oh, and that's the one with alfre woodard she's in that and picard and yeah, that's a really good one too.
- 43:00Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, that's a good oh, I have to watch some of these now pretty much anything with the borg is good pretty much I know, although I didn't like when they humanized the borg right when what's his name, they called him um q no, it wasn't q, oh hugh, it connected him and he became self-aware, Like he knew he was an individual.
- 43:23Carmen Lezeth: I mean, it was good, but it wasn't, and I don't know even when the series ended.
- 43:27Carmen Lezeth: I think that's part of it right, because when we started watching Picard the show on streaming or whatever that's part of what ends up happening.
- 43:34Carmen Lezeth: Is, you realize, the Borg has never really left Picard.
- 43:37Carmen Lezeth: It never really leaves him.
- 43:39Carmen Lezeth: It's always a part of him.
- 43:40Carmen Lezeth: You know, look at either people are listening to this at this point.
- 43:43Carmen Lezeth: They're not, and they know already that Picard ends up becoming I don't know what the right word is Not a board, but he like data.
- 43:51Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, like data, right, he dies, but then doesn't, because he becomes artificial intelligence, basically.
- 43:58Carmen Lezeth: But it just dawned on me, that isn't that, it just hit me yeah, yeah, it's true that's what I love.
- 44:11Carmen Lezeth: That's what I love about sci-fi.
- 44:12Carmen Lezeth: If you again go back to 2001, a space odyssey you can see things there.
- 44:18Carmen Lezeth: Stanley kubrick, 1966, I think 1967, 1968 somewhere in there, for sure yeah, it was 66 67.
- 44:27Carmen Lezeth: I know it's one of those, but he created this movie and so many of those things have come to fruition today.
- 44:34Carmen Lezeth: You know what we're doing right now.
- 44:38Rick Costa: I told you when I watched it.
- 44:39Rick Costa: I was like if you'd ever told me that this was from the 1960s, I would never believe you.
- 44:43Rick Costa: There's no way, it's like how did he?
- 44:46Rick Costa: Do this back then.
- 44:48Carmen Lezeth: And I know it's hard for people to sit through the beginning, but there's a reason why at the beginning it makes more sense when you appreciate sci-fi, what he's trying to say with the apes.
- 44:58Carmen Lezeth: At the beginning it's just an incredible storyline.
- 45:02Carmen Lezeth: But that's what I love about it.
- 45:04Carmen Lezeth: And even now, when joking around saying that I want to be able to be like computer Earl gray guy, I do want that and I have to say I love my air fryer.
- 45:14Carmen Lezeth: I love my air fryer that I just bought, and I'm not saying it's AI, but it's pretty damn awesome, you know, and technology is incredible.
- 45:23Carmen Lezeth: And cell phones you saw how they were using cell phones or like zoom calls, and it's pretty fascinating cell phones or like zoom calls, and it's pretty fascinating.
- 45:34Rick Costa: Yeah, I had one of those first next telephones which flipped and you could.
- 45:36Carmen Lezeth: It was a walkie talkie and a phone.
- 45:37Rick Costa: Oh, that's funny you could, like I could.
- 45:38Rick Costa: My ex-wife had one too, so I could just go beep, beep, and she'd hear it.
- 45:41Rick Costa: She'd be like oh, he wants me.
- 45:43Rick Costa: So then she'd pick it up, beep, beep, beep, back to acknowledge and then we just start talking.
- 45:46Rick Costa: That's just so incredible.
- 45:49Carmen Lezeth: how do you you and I did warn you, I was going to ask you this question, but just to shift it to, kind of, because I have some thoughts on this too Like, how do you think sci-fi does or does not influence spirituality or faith or religion, just because that is what you do for a living?
- 46:04Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 46:04Carmen Lezeth: Like, how do you think it intersects?
- 46:06Carmen Lezeth: Not for the?
- 46:08Rick Costa: day.
- 46:08Rick Costa: But yeah, okay, do you think it intersects?
- 46:14Rick Costa: Not for the day?
- 46:14Rick Costa: But yeah, okay, part of who I am.
- 46:14Rick Costa: But yeah, but yeah, yeah, I remember when you you asked me like, how do you watch this when you're religious?
- 46:18Rick Costa: Don't, you doesn't it I'm like because to me it's all fantasy, it's like a separate thing, it's nothing to do with my reality.
- 46:24Rick Costa: That's again that, like I said in the beginning, it's my escape from reality.
- 46:28Rick Costa: That's why I like it, because it's completely disconnected from what's real, but I get to escape into that world for a while.
- 46:34Rick Costa: This is the rules of that world and this world has that rules and everything has its own thing.
- 46:39Rick Costa: Yeah, and I'm just, it's just.
- 46:41Carmen Lezeth: It's separation, I guess in my head, so it's compartmentalizing or whatever yeah I actually think that's a sad explanation though for you, because I Cause I think I mean I don't mean that in a bad way.
- 46:51Carmen Lezeth: You know I disagree with you, but I just feel like the thing that it does, is it not makes me question in a negative way, but the way in which, like, I mean Stargate SG-1, the way they handle gods right, they're actually, from my perspective, they're actually kind of saying that gods are not real, right, like the whole idea of the Gua'uld is that the Gua'ulds say that they're gods and they use all these powers and they put all these rules in place and they make you follow things and if you don't, blah, blah.
- 47:21Carmen Lezeth: And the interesting thing is that you see Stargate SG-1, the actual crew right, they're actually, they know that the gods are false.
- 47:32Carmen Lezeth: And Daniel Jackson being the scientist, he's the atheist in the group and even he realizes that these are fake gods.
- 47:40Carmen Lezeth: Real gods would never do this.
- 47:42Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 47:43Carmen Lezeth: Like I don't.
- 47:44Carmen Lezeth: I mean I understand what you're saying, but for me I actually think it's the opposite.
- 47:49Carmen Lezeth: I think the way in which sci-fi influences spirituality or even technology, like just technology, it's not doing anything to dis, it's not all horror, like the hell at the end of 2001,.
- 48:01Carmen Lezeth: A space odyssey is a horrible outcome, but there are good things to technology too, and I think it expands that conversation right Because it presents us with the possibility.
- 48:13Carmen Lezeth: So I don't mean, I'm not dismissing what you said, I just disagree with you.
- 48:17Carmen Lezeth: I think it actually works in the other way, in that there are false gods all over the place, and that's what happens in Stargate SG-1 and in Star Trek.
- 48:27Carmen Lezeth: These are all false gods and you can tell because they have a symbiote, because they're evil, because they whatever they treat people this way, whatever there's something else and it's not this.
- 48:39Carmen Lezeth: Does that make sense?
- 48:41Rick Costa: Yeah, but also for me it's like my point of view, god is God Unlimited, can do anything.
- 48:49Rick Costa: No, I can't tell him nothing.
- 48:50Rick Costa: He made everything.
- 48:51Rick Costa: He's a creator, everything.
- 48:52Rick Costa: You can call yourself a God all day, but you ain't, in my view, god.
- 48:55Rick Costa: I don't care if you call yourself God, you ain't God.
- 48:58Rick Costa: So that's why I'm like yeah, they can call themselves God, but you ain't God.
- 49:01Rick Costa: Who are you trying to fool?
- 49:05Rick Costa: You can't do like yeah, oh my god, oh, yeah, it must be.
- 49:08Rick Costa: Look at all the stuff you could do.
- 49:09Rick Costa: Or today we're like no, son, I don't think so no, I totally get it, I totally understand that.
- 49:14Carmen Lezeth: I, I mean I, I understand the logic, you know I.
- 49:17Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if I again, you know this is a conversation we've always.
- 49:21Carmen Lezeth: I don't know if I agree with you to that extent, because to me, I I agree with you that there's probably something bigger, and that's why I like sci-fi, because no matter how much the imagination does what it does and they create these worlds that are just amazing.
- 49:37Carmen Lezeth: The thing about Stargate SG-1 that's so cool is just that portal allows these writers to create the most magnificent possibilities, right, endless storytelling from different.
- 49:49Carmen Lezeth: No matter how much you think of that, no matter how much you go there, I still don't think we're gonna ever understand what god actually is, and I think that's what sci-fi is saying even if sometimes it comes across as atheist, right?
- 50:01Carmen Lezeth: sometimes you can tell that the episodes are written by five different atheists in the room.
- 50:06Rick Costa: You can tell but the one cool aspect of just sci-fi in general is you can take the craziest idea and make it into a sci-fi show.
- 50:16Rick Costa: It's not crazy, because it's sci-fi yeah that's I know x.
- 50:22Carmen Lezeth: Okay, you know I was addicted to x files, which is so weird because it really is more horror than not.
- 50:26Carmen Lezeth: It's psychological, but I used to watch that.
- 50:29Carmen Lezeth: Ask anyone.
- 50:30Carmen Lezeth: I went to college with star trek sg, not sg1, star trek next generation I don't write up combining shows.
- 50:37Carmen Lezeth: Star trek next generation and x files is what I was watching when I was in college, like o'neill and reicher go drinking together I know religiously, though it was like I was so into I was also videotaping it.
- 50:52Carmen Lezeth: I know I'm totally aging myself, but we were recording it on video so I wouldn't miss it.
- 50:56Carmen Lezeth: And then I had them.
- 50:58Carmen Lezeth: And then when I came out to los angeles by myself and I had one suitcase in a backpack, whatever I had four videos of like four vhs things, of my x files and star trek next generation, even though I didn't have a vcr, but I was taking them with me so you eventually don't get one I did end up getting one, though I did, but it's just so funny how I remember I gotta take this with me because it's such good, you know.
- 51:22Carmen Lezeth: I mean like I'll figure it out, but oh man, that was I think it's just.
- 51:30Rick Costa: It's all about possibilities, endless possibilities and hope for the future.
- 51:36Rick Costa: You know that, okay, things might be rough right now, but there's a possibility.
- 51:42Rick Costa: Look what we can be one day If we come together.
- 51:47Rick Costa: Stop fighting, stop being jerks and put our resources together and really work together as humans to make things better for real, without egos, without pride, and everybody not be selfish.
- 51:59Rick Costa: Well, without fear right, yeah, that too, but humans are humans.
- 52:05Carmen Lezeth: Well, I mean, I think when we look at AI, I've never seen a clearer explanation of how ridiculous humans behave with something that they don't know.
- 52:14Carmen Lezeth: We see that all the time when it comes to people or cultures, right, Racism and whatever.
- 52:20Carmen Lezeth: Right, so you're not like me, blah, blah, blah.
- 52:22Carmen Lezeth: I don't like you.
- 52:24Carmen Lezeth: And then I act and behave badly around you right, so we see that clearly.
- 52:29Carmen Lezeth: Behave badly around you, right?
- 52:32Carmen Lezeth: So we see that clearly.
- 52:33Carmen Lezeth: But what's really interesting to me is watching each other and kind of understanding how we function with each other.
- 52:40Carmen Lezeth: I just lost my train of thought for a moment because I was going off on a tangent.
- 52:44Carmen Lezeth: What were you saying before for a minute?
- 52:47Rick Costa: About the possibility of what we could do if we stop fighting each other and really ai I was talking about ai.
- 52:55Carmen Lezeth: I'm sorry.
- 52:56Carmen Lezeth: Thank you so much.
- 52:56Carmen Lezeth: The thing that happens is like when you see people come together and see something new that they don't understand.
- 53:02Carmen Lezeth: Fear takes over first, and the intention of every person that's been working on AI I don't want to, because I try to believe in the best in people is not like they're trying to do this so that they can take my information.
- 53:16Carmen Lezeth: They can screw me over.
- 53:17Carmen Lezeth: They can do this whatever.
- 53:18Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean.
- 53:19Carmen Lezeth: It's like.
- 53:19Carmen Lezeth: Ai is here.
- 53:21Carmen Lezeth: You can fear it.
- 53:22Carmen Lezeth: That's one option.
- 53:23Carmen Lezeth: Or you can try to understand how it can work for you, but we see that for you, but we see that right.
- 53:33Carmen Lezeth: And humans?
- 53:33Carmen Lezeth: I hate to admit it, but we seem to be guided by fear all the time.
- 53:35Rick Costa: First and foremost, I can think of a not too long ago example, but we honestly didn't know what was going to happen, but nothing happened.
- 53:42Rick Costa: Y2k, oh my God.
- 53:44Rick Costa: Fear with Y2K, oh my God.
- 53:47Carmen Lezeth: So did nothing happen because we prepared for it, or did nothing happen and we prepared for it anyway?
- 53:53Carmen Lezeth: That's a weird question, right?
- 53:54Carmen Lezeth: I don't know.
- 53:55Carmen Lezeth: Very few devices stopped working right, I know but it wasn't our devices that were a big deal.
- 54:01Carmen Lezeth: I do agree with you that we were scared to death about it.
- 54:04Carmen Lezeth: It's kind of like when there's like a big hurricane and they're like no, this is the one you have to leave.
- 54:10Carmen Lezeth: I mean, I know I'm here on the West Coast and I'm always like, why do people live where they live, with all these tornadoes and earthquakes?
- 54:16Carmen Lezeth: Because the way they make it sound is they're just going to wipe you out tomorrow.
- 54:19Carmen Lezeth: You all better board up now and it's okay, but better safe than sorry.
- 54:23Carmen Lezeth: But again, we live in this.
- 54:25Carmen Lezeth: I don't know why, but I always feel like humans are guided by fear.
- 54:29Carmen Lezeth: First, I think it's a.
- 54:30Carmen Lezeth: Really I don't know why I'm not a scientist to know but most people do things out of fear.
- 54:37Carmen Lezeth: And I'll say that.
- 54:38Carmen Lezeth: I'll say, like, for me, when I moved out here by myself, it was out of fear.
- 54:42Carmen Lezeth: I didn't want to go back where I grew up.
- 54:44Carmen Lezeth: I didn't want and I wasn't going to stay in Vermont no offense, but not where I wanted to ever be.
- 54:49Carmen Lezeth: But I wasn't going to stay in Vermont no offense, but not where I wanted to ever be.
- 54:51Carmen Lezeth: But out of fear, I was like, no, I need to move, I need to go somewhere.
- 54:54Carmen Lezeth: But that was a good thing, because I took fear and then I just jumped and leaped.
- 54:57Carmen Lezeth: You know what I mean and I'm glad I did.
- 54:59Carmen Lezeth: But I feel like fear is usually a negative thing and then we push away from it.
- 55:06Rick Costa: It can be good and it can be bad.
- 55:08Rick Costa: It can be protective, fight or flight, but then also it can be crippling, where you can do something, but you're too scared so you do nothing, which is no good.
- 55:20Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, I agree with you, and I think the thing that we know for sure is when you think about these environments whether it's Star Trek Next Generation or Stargate SG-1.
- 55:29Carmen Lezeth: It's not based on fear, it's based on curiosity.
- 55:34Carmen Lezeth: What's beautiful about the human spirit is that if we could get back to there, if we could be more curious, then maybe we could get to a place where we would stop being so fearful of each other and hating on each other and instead try to find a way to work through things.
- 55:48Carmen Lezeth: But that takes a level of curiosity that I don't think most people have.
- 55:53Carmen Lezeth: I really don't think most people have curiosity.
- 55:57Rick Costa: SG1 is a great example, because when they would go to a new place they didn't know, they would send in what they call the MELP whatever that little robot machine.
- 56:05Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, the MELP, m-a-l-p-f-a what it stood for.
- 56:10Rick Costa: But it just went so far.
- 56:11Rick Costa: You don't know what else is there, so they fearlessly went anyway.
- 56:13Rick Costa: Okay, seems safe, let's go.
- 56:14Rick Costa: But you don't know who's there, you don't know who's going to kill you.
- 56:18Carmen Lezeth: The reason why they sent the map through was to see if it had the right atmosphere and if it could sustain oxygen, whatever, but it always cracked me up because it was always another forest in Canada, like a different angle of the same part.
- 56:35Carmen Lezeth: Like, once you start watching the show over and over again, you can see the set design.
- 56:37Carmen Lezeth: It's so funny, yeah.
- 56:40Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, it's the same idea, though.
- 56:42Carmen Lezeth: You're absolutely right.
- 56:43Carmen Lezeth: You, you throw that rock out there first and you see, okay, I guess it's okay to go, but I'm not sure.
- 56:51Carmen Lezeth: And then you go anyways and you got to figure it out.
- 56:55Rick Costa: Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
- 56:57Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, but I don't know how do you fix that in this world that we're in right now.
- 57:04Carmen Lezeth: I don't know what the answer is, but I do know I love watching shows that give me hope, and I think that's what sci-fi is.
- 57:09Rick Costa: There's so many shows, my gosh, I can't even think of all the ones that I've watched.
- 57:13Rick Costa: I would have to look for a list and see did I watch this one?
- 57:17Rick Costa: Ding ding, ding, ding ding.
- 57:18Carmen Lezeth: It'd be easier to talk about the ones you didn't watch yet.
- 57:20Carmen Lezeth: So is there any last words you'd like to say about sci-fi in general?
- 57:25Carmen Lezeth: As a as a Gen X-er.
- 57:29Rick Costa: If you don't like sci-fi, no, just kidding.
- 57:31Carmen Lezeth: If you don't like sci-fi, hmm no.
- 57:34Rick Costa: I can't be your friend.
- 57:34Rick Costa: No, just kidding.
- 57:35Rick Costa: And then you got the Star Trek, Star Wars animosity, but that's a whole nother thing.
- 57:40Carmen Lezeth: That's a whole other show some other day.
- 57:42Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, no, I don't even know if it's animosity.
- 57:56Rick Costa: It's just fun to me it's just fun.
- 57:58Rick Costa: It's a fun, it's an escape, it's hope, it's possibility, it's can we get there one day?
- 58:03Carmen Lezeth: hope so if anyone is listening to this, who's gotten this far, thank you for listening.
- 58:08Carmen Lezeth: For those of you who are solid sci-fi geeks I know you listen to the whole thing you could find Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek Next Generation.
- 58:17Carmen Lezeth: They should be free on most any streaming service that you're using.
- 58:22Carmen Lezeth: Yeah, pluto's a big one and you can find it free there, and I just watched two episodes this morning because I wanted to.
- 58:31Carmen Lezeth: But yeah, and enjoy, and I guess I would just say they are about hope for me.
- 58:36Carmen Lezeth: That's why I like them, but it's also the genre I enjoy.
- 58:38Carmen Lezeth: Like I don't enjoy horror and maybe for horror, that's what it does for Cynthia, I have no idea.
- 58:44Carmen Lezeth: But thank you for listening and, again, we'll be back here on Thursday.
- 58:50Carmen Lezeth: In the live stream you can always find the podcast.
- 58:53Carmen Lezeth: It drops on Sunday mornings at 6 am Eastern and, yeah, at the end of the day.
- 58:59Carmen Lezeth: Remember, it really is all about the joy.
- 59:01Carmen Lezeth: Thank you, rick.
- 59:03Carmen Lezeth: Bye, thanks for stopping by.
- 59:08Carmen Lezeth: All About the Joy.
- 59:09Carmen Lezeth: Be better and stay beautiful.
- 59:11Carmen Lezeth: Folks.
- 59:11Carmen Lezeth: Have a sweet day.
