- 3:00Lord, we love you, and it's in your mighty and powerful and
- 3:04holy name that I pray. Amen.
- 3:08Well, let's start in verse one. God, who at sundry times and in
- 3:17diverse manners spoke in times past unto the fathers by the
- 3:22prophets. So here the writer of Hebrews,
- 3:25which is anonymous, but we could surmise that it is the Apostle
- 3:31Paul. But here the writer of Hebrews
- 3:34wants to hearken the recipients of this letter who were early
- 3:41Christians who were coming from a Jewish background.
- 3:45He wants them to remember that the prophets of old had spoke to
- 3:50the fathers, and that God himself was speaking through
- 3:54those prophets in many different ways and at many different
- 3:58times. To had in the has in these last
- 4:02days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of
- 4:09all things, by whom also He made the world.
- 4:13So he's talking about Jesus Christ, and he's saying here we
- 4:18do not need to wait on another that the fulfillment of the
- 4:23Messiah has come in Christ Jesus.
- 4:26And he's going to paint a beautiful picture to these early
- 4:29converts from Judaism into Christianity.
- 4:34He's going to paint a beautiful masterpiece of why they can
- 4:38trust and rely that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
- 4:45He made the world's and he's the heir of all things three, who
- 4:50being the brightness of his glory and the express image of
- 4:55his person and upholding all things by the word of his power
- 4:59when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right
- 5:04hand of the majesty on high. So Jesus Christ is seated at the
- 5:08right hand of God. He's not like the angels.
- 5:12He is seated, Friends. He's not ministering.
- 5:16He's not the one who has to go out and do the work.
- 5:19He is resting. He is seated because he finished
- 5:22the work on the cross. It is finished.
- 5:25It is paid in full, friends, and that is the glory of Jesus
- 5:29Christ. And here the writer of Hebrews
- 5:32wants us to know that he is the express image of God.
- 5:36It's like a signet ring that's dipped into the wax, friends.
- 5:40It is a mirror of God Almighty. If you have seen Jesus, then you
- 5:45have seen God because they are synonymous and Jesus is God who
- 5:50being in the brightness of his glory, Can you see the glory as
- 5:54the train of his robe fills the temple and he's upholding all
- 5:58things by the word of his power. Think about it friends.
- 6:02He spoke everything into existence.
- 6:05He said let us make man in our image.
- 6:08You can see the triune nature of God Almighty all the way back at
- 6:12the creative act, friends. And he's sustaining everything
- 6:18just by His word, His breath. And that's how he's going to
- 6:22destroy all of His enemies when He makes them a footstool under
- 6:26His feet is by the breath of His mouth.
- 6:29It's a 2 edged sword that comes out of His mouth.
- 6:32It's easy for him. His yoke is easy.
- 6:35His burden is light. We do not need to fret.
- 6:38We do not need to bite our nails trying to figure out what is
- 6:41going to happen. We just rest in Jesus.
- 6:44Get in Jesus, he is the power on high.
- 6:48He is all powerful and we do not need to worry friends, we just
- 6:53get in the boat, get in Jesus Christ and you are safe and you
- 6:57are secure for all of eternity and he's going to make every
- 7:01wrong thing right friends, and we don't need to try and figure
- 7:04it all out. We just rest in Christ.
- 7:07We rest in the finished work of the Cross for being made so much
- 7:13better than the angels. As He has by inheritance
- 7:18obtained a more excellent name than they, He has the name that
- 7:22is above all names, friends, and anyone who calls on that name
- 7:27shall be saved. 5 For unto which of the angels, said he, at any
- 7:32time You are my Son, this day I have begotten thee, and again I
- 7:38will be to him a Father, and He shall be to me a Son.
- 7:43You know, it is not as if God Almighty born Jesus Christ, It
- 7:49is that He is the first of all to inherit.
- 7:54He is the only begotten, friends.
- 7:57And that is the reality that we need to let sink in.
- 8:01It is not as if God the Father had Jesus Christ.
- 8:05Jesus Christ is from everlasting to everlasting.
- 8:10Friends 6 And again, when he brings in the first begotten
- 8:16into the world, he says, and let all the angels of God worship
- 8:20him. You can see that Jesus Christ is
- 8:22deity and that the angels worship Jesus Christ.
- 8:27How amazing is that? Let all the angels worship Him.
- 8:31We never need to try to place an Angel in a higher position than
- 8:35Jesus Christ. We never need to let an angel's
- 8:38name be the highest position in our minds.
- 8:42It is Christ Jesus Jesus and Jesus alone, friends, who
- 8:46deserves all of the worship. 7 and of the angels, he says, who
- 8:52makes his Angel spirits and his ministers a flame of fire.
- 8:56So here we go, Jesus Christ is getting all the worship from the
- 9:02Angel, and he makes his angels spirits and his ministers a
- 9:06flame of fire. You can see them worshipping Him
- 9:10night and day. You can see them crying out.
- 9:13Holy holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, and there was only one
- 9:18found worthy to open the scroll. Is Jesus Christ the Lamb that
- 9:23was slain, and we love him. 8 But unto the Son he says, Your
- 9:28throne, oh God, God, is forever and ever.
- 9:32A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your Kingdom.
- 9:36Here God calls Jesus God. Don't miss it.
- 9:43God calls Jesus God, he says, but unto the Son he says, who?
- 9:50God says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
- 9:55A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your Kingdom,
- 9:59that is Jesus Christ with the title of God Almighty. 9 You
- 10:04have loved righteousness and hated iniquity.
- 10:07Therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the oil of
- 10:12gladness above your fellows. There is no one above Jesus
- 10:16Christ. He has this oil of gladness and
- 10:19it is available to you St. if you'll take a hold of it.
- 10:22Choose joy today. Choose this oil of gladness
- 10:25today. Don't be caught up in your past.
- 10:29Don't be caught up in your childhood.
- 10:31Don't be caught up in the ways of the world, friends.
- 10:34Don't be entangled and snared by all the things of this world.
- 10:38Friends, We need the oil of gladness today, knowing that the
- 10:41work is finished and we are going to bust heaven wide open.
- 10:44Praise God, Hallelujah, this oil of gladness is available and it
- 10:49is the oil of being filled with the Holy Ghost.
- 10:52Not just halfway, not just a little bit, not just almost, but
- 10:56filled, overflowing with this oil of the Holy Ghost.
- 11:00This is gladness. 10 And you, Lord, in the beginning has laid
- 11:05the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of
- 11:08your hands. So here we're going to get to
- 11:10see the plan for the ages. 11 They shall perish, but you
- 11:15remain. They all shall wax old, as does
- 11:19a garment, 12 And as a vesture shall you fold them up, and they
- 11:24shall be changed, but you are the same, and your years shall
- 11:28not fail. Praise God, Hallelujah, Jesus
- 11:31Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
- 11:34This earth of ours that we inhabit is wearing out like a
- 11:40piece of clothing. We all want to try to talk about
- 11:44climate change. We all want to try to talk about
- 11:47all of the things that are happening, all of the pollutants
- 11:51and all of the mass deforestation and the things
- 11:54that plague our time. And we want to act as if we can
- 11:58do something that's going to change it.
- 12:00But the reality is it's all wearing out like an old piece of
- 12:04clothing. And God said it would be so.
- 12:07But he's going to make everything new.
- 12:09He's going to make a new heaven and a new earth.
- 12:11He's going to burn this one up. And all the impurities are going
- 12:14to melt off like dross, and we're going to see a new heaven
- 12:18and a new earth emerge, friends, that is beautiful and it is
- 12:24going to be eternal. And all of creation groans and
- 12:32waits for that day. 13 But to which of the angels said he, at
- 12:41any time sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies the
- 12:45footstool. So that is what you need to
- 12:47understand. All those that rail against God,
- 12:51all those that blasphemy the name of Jesus Christ, all those
- 12:55that refuse to repent, all those who refuse to believe, all those
- 13:00who refuse to come in the Christian faith, friends, which
- 13:05Jesus Christ says I am the way, the truth and the life.
- 13:10And no one comes unto the Father except through him.
- 13:14You can see that he is the only way into eternity.
- 13:19And all of those who refuse to come by way of the blood of the
- 13:24Lamb will be eternally separated.
- 13:26There is no universalism, friends, there is no different
- 13:33path. There is only Jesus Christ and
- 13:36Jesus alone, Friends, that's going to get you into eternity,
- 13:40and it's not of anything that you have done, but it is
- 13:43everything that He did. And we rest on the finished work
- 13:47of Jesus Christ. 14 will end here.
- 13:51Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister
- 13:56for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
- 14:00So these angels are sent out to protect those who will inherit
- 14:05eternal life. God already knows who belongs to
- 14:08them. But here you can see that the
- 14:10angels are ministers and Jesus Christ is not.
- 14:14Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
- 14:19He is there enjoying the finished work that He has done
- 14:23while the angels are still out and about doing God's bidding
- 14:27and protecting the Saints. Friends, how amazing is that?
- 14:31God is the Alpha and the Omega. He's the beginning and the end
- 14:36and He already knows who belongs to Him and He is sending out the
- 14:40angels to protect those. What an amazing thought.
- 14:44I hope you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 14:47Word. I know I sure have.
- 14:52I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 14:54I love you. We'll see you back here
- 14:56tomorrow. God bless you.
