- 0:01Speaker 1: I'm not getting hold of.
- 0:11Speaker 2: A happy, happy, happy Bobby Bernia to day to us who.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Celebrate Bobby Bo. Baby, he's got a couple more years
- 0:22Speaker 3: on that contract too.
- 0:25Speaker 2: One point one nine million dollar check coming through today
- 0:29Speaker 2: for the sixty three year olds. Yeah, it's been a
- 0:33Speaker 2: minute since he played ball, plus an additional five hundred
- 0:36Speaker 2: thousand dollars from the Orioles based on a January two
- 0:39Speaker 2: thousand contract deferral.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Bobby Bo still wait, hold on, hold on one second,
- 0:46Speaker 3: doesn't he doesn't he get pensioned too?
- 0:48Speaker 4: Man, my man from the kicking butt he's.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Over what what's that over sixty two?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Kratzy.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Oh, you can get him whenever, like I guess, start
- 0:57Speaker 5: flagging it now. But you get you get less. So
- 0:59Speaker 5: you do you wait till sixty two to get your full,
- 1:03Speaker 5: full full pension or do you wait till fifty five?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Bobby Bo's Bobby Bo's kind of got to figure it out.
- 1:10Speaker 5: I would say, let's just be honest. If you had
- 1:14Speaker 5: taken the money all up front, he'd be making more,
- 1:16Speaker 5: But then it wouldn't be a story. So it's cool.
- 1:18Speaker 5: Like everybody's like, WHOA, I'd love to get one point
- 1:21Speaker 5: one nine million. Well, yeah, obviously, but had he taken
- 1:24Speaker 5: it all right out the gate, he'd have been doing
- 1:27Speaker 5: a little bit better.
- 1:28Speaker 2: No, I disagree. I think you're wrong on that part.
- 1:31Speaker 5: Okay, go ahead.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Usually you're right, right, take the money and then if
- 1:36Speaker 2: it's invested, even conservatively, it should be fine. As far
- 1:41Speaker 2: as I remember from this story, this had to do
- 1:44Speaker 2: with the who's the Ponzi scheme? Dude made off made off.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I think this had to do with the Mets getting
- 1:51Speaker 2: great returns the wipons, and so they were like, oh,
- 1:54Speaker 2: you're better off just keeping and pushing this money later,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and the returns clearly weren't as good as they thought
- 1:59Speaker 2: they were. I could be off on that, but I'm
- 2:01Speaker 2: pretty sure if you do the math on Bobby bow
- 2:04Speaker 2: and what he's received, right, because so if you look
- 2:06Speaker 2: at what the contract would have been worth versus now,
- 2:09Speaker 2: even factoring in the time, I'm pretty sure. Now in
- 2:13Speaker 2: most cases, no, right, if you defer a bunch of
- 2:15Speaker 2: money that you could have taken right away, you take
- 2:18Speaker 2: it right away, right. And this gets into the wild
- 2:22Speaker 2: world of deferrals and how many people don't understand them.
- 2:25Speaker 2: But in Bobby's particular case, it'll is a little more intricate.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So here are some other deferral payments. If you want
- 2:31Speaker 2: to read about Bobby, just google him. We're not smart
- 2:33Speaker 2: enough for this, but here's other deferral payments. Max Schurzer
- 2:36Speaker 2: fifteen MILLI year through twenty twenty seven from the Nats
- 2:39Speaker 2: and then fifteen from the Dodgers in twenty twenty eight.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Manny Ramirez is still making some cast this year, final
- 2:46Speaker 2: year of his deferral payments from the Red Sox. Liam Hendrick.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Liam Hendrick still getting money through twenty thirty three. Lorenzo
- 2:52Speaker 2: Caine Our Boys still through twenty twenty seven from the Brewers.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Brett Saberhagen hasn't pitched in a minute. That's probably related
- 2:59Speaker 2: to the Podzi scheme stuff and Bobby Bonia back in
- 3:01Speaker 2: the day. He's still getting paid through twenty twenty eight.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Chris Davis on this list, Ryan Brown on this list,
- 3:06Speaker 2: Adam Wayne Right on this list with a milli year
- 3:08Speaker 2: through twenty thirty three. So that looks like a rainbow.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I would call it. Of different teams and team colors
- 3:15Speaker 2: Todd Father. When people say, oh, there's only one team
- 3:17Speaker 2: doing deferrals, there are many teams that do deferrals.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Listen, Honestly, when you're done playing and you know you
- 3:24Speaker 3: have money coming in and you're not doing anything, that's
- 3:28Speaker 3: got to feel pretty dark good if you want to.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure some guys are doing stuff, making
- 3:34Speaker 3: some side money, maybe you know, broadcasting, doing whatever. That's great,
- 3:37Speaker 3: But knowing every July first that you got a lump
- 3:41Speaker 3: some coming in, Honey, where are we going on vacation?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Let's go, So that's gotta be good. I would have
- 3:49Speaker 3: liked to defer some money just knowing that I had
- 3:51Speaker 3: some trickling in.
- 3:52Speaker 4: But you know, I'm fine, I'm plenty fine.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It's always fun July first every year. Now, let's get
- 4:01Speaker 2: to a brawl.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Charge out.
- 4:06Speaker 2: That's why we do this show. Take us through everything. Kratz, Wilson,
- 4:10Speaker 2: Contreras booted from a game for the second consecutive day.
- 4:14Speaker 2: This one actually turned into benches clearing a little bit
- 4:16Speaker 2: of fisticuffs, right. It was more than just hey, hey,
- 4:20Speaker 2: hold me back, bro. This got a little real eventually,
- 4:23Speaker 2: Contrera's chuck and the helmet, you know, Ky cavally saying
- 4:26Speaker 2: that he was bumping into him on purpose, and he
- 4:29Speaker 2: tells him sit down, boy. Now there's a part two
- 4:31Speaker 2: here where Cavali actually today apologized and said he feels
- 4:35Speaker 2: heartbroken for using the word boy and said he's going
- 4:38Speaker 2: to eliminate it from his vocabulary based on history that
- 4:42Speaker 2: he said he learned about that word and connotations and
- 4:45Speaker 2: the way that he spoke to him that he said
- 4:47Speaker 2: he didn't realize and will never do again. So there's
- 4:50Speaker 2: all kinds of quotes. And Spencer Nussbaum, who covers the
- 4:52Speaker 2: Nationals for the Athletic and also for our District Territory show,
- 4:55Speaker 2: is all over this if you give him a follow.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But anyway, Kratz, take me through everything.
- 4:59Speaker 5: There was a here, all right, Well, let's rewind to
- 5:03Speaker 5: the less time that they saw each other, which was
- 5:07Speaker 5: I think an inning or two earlier, And the fact
- 5:12Speaker 5: that Wilson Contreras is running off the mound or running
- 5:16Speaker 5: off of from third base as Cavali's coming off the
- 5:20Speaker 5: mound and takes a veered route. Now I get it.
- 5:24Speaker 5: If you draw a line to the dugout, it's a
- 5:27Speaker 5: This is a very that is very intentional. Watching the video,
- 5:32Speaker 5: he's intentionally trying to get very close to k cavally
- 5:37Speaker 5: right there. He can easily go behind him. He could
- 5:41Speaker 5: have easily continued down the line and made a little
- 5:43Speaker 5: bit bigger of a loop. That is like to me
- 5:46Speaker 5: when I saw it, I was like, that feels like
- 5:48Speaker 5: that looks like AI. It looks computer generated, like you
- 5:52Speaker 5: just don't run that close to somebody. And he bumped
- 5:54Speaker 5: him and he said, oh, I'm sorry. So then there's
- 5:58Speaker 5: a little bit of it. He didn't throw out to me,
- 6:00Speaker 5: struck him out. Kate cavally struck him out. He said
- 6:03Speaker 5: some words to him, and then Wilson's like, who you
- 6:06Speaker 5: talking to? You talking to me? And then Wilson after
- 6:09Speaker 5: the game goes, I feel like it's totally unfair that
- 6:13Speaker 5: I'm getting thrown out of the game. From yesterday him
- 6:16Speaker 5: tapping his helmet. Now, I also saw another video of
- 6:20Speaker 5: him tapping his helmet yesterday, and it wasn't just one tap.
- 6:25Speaker 5: He continued to tap his helmet as he walked back.
- 6:28Speaker 5: It was one, two, three, four tapping his helmet as
- 6:33Speaker 5: he was walking back. And he thinks he shouldn't have
- 6:35Speaker 5: gotten thrown out, as Scott also thinks. And then yesterday
- 6:38Speaker 5: he threw his helmet at a at a whoever he
- 6:41Speaker 5: is trying to hit, he threw his helmet. That's gonna
- 6:45Speaker 5: cost him a big time.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, A lot of unfold here. I mean this
- 6:51Speaker 3: actually can go back to the frustrations.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I guess.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I don't know if he was frustrated or with the
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yankees too him and will excuse me. After a walk
- 7:03Speaker 3: he thought he threw up and in on him twice
- 7:05Speaker 3: and he said something to him. So, I mean, listen,
- 7:08Speaker 3: it's one of those times I give the benefit of
- 7:10Speaker 3: doubt to all the players. Honestly, man, listen, he's going
- 7:14Speaker 3: through some tough times. I guess he's frustrated, his stuff
- 7:16Speaker 3: going on in his country. I mean, everything comes into
- 7:19Speaker 3: play here. I mean the guy he battles, did it
- 7:24Speaker 3: look like he diverted to go get him a bump?
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it did.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He could have you know, there's a lot of things
- 7:29Speaker 3: that you say, Kratzy, you could have stopped and waited
- 7:31Speaker 3: till somebody went by. Uh, we don't. We don't know
- 7:34Speaker 3: the full thing here. I mean maybe there's more to it,
- 7:36Speaker 3: but yeah, the word usage by Kate by Cavali, you know,
- 7:42Speaker 3: probably or definitely he could have said something differently there.
- 7:46Speaker 3: I know, in the heat of the moment as they
- 7:48Speaker 3: talk about how things get crazy and you say some remarks,
- 7:53Speaker 3: you just gotta you gotta really think before you speak,
- 7:57Speaker 3: and you gotta really think about what you're doing, uh,
- 8:00Speaker 3: you know, and all different things. So Contrares just got
- 8:05Speaker 3: a cool down a little bit. I think he's just
- 8:07Speaker 3: a little on edge. Cavali needs to slow his roll
- 8:10Speaker 3: down a little bit too. I think both were at
- 8:11Speaker 3: fault and both need to understand that. You know, listen,
- 8:14Speaker 3: he the moment. We don't mind it. A little chirping
- 8:17Speaker 3: going on, that's fine, but this just got a little
- 8:19Speaker 3: out of hand.
- 8:21Speaker 5: I think he's taking a fence to so many things
- 8:24Speaker 5: right now that you know, when when he says something
- 8:28Speaker 5: like when Wilson says something like I've been thrown out
- 8:31Speaker 5: the last two days and neither have been my fault,
- 8:33Speaker 5: I feel like he needs to maybe like do a
- 8:36Speaker 5: little reflection maybe or maybe I'm just seeing it completely
- 8:41Speaker 5: wrong here. Should Cavally have yelled at him, No, is
- 8:45Speaker 5: there that stuff going on in the game? Yes? Is
- 8:49Speaker 5: there emotion? Absolutely? Does Wilson have higher emotions? Yes? Did
- 8:54Speaker 5: he bat flip to the moon the other day on
- 8:56Speaker 5: his home run? Yeah? Absolutely, Like there's emotion and you
- 9:00Speaker 5: even see Wilson go into the dugout and he's after
- 9:03Speaker 5: he gets thrown, He's like, come on, guys, just get
- 9:05Speaker 5: this guy. You guys got this guy. And I feel
- 9:07Speaker 5: like he's taking this leadership role that I've never seen
- 9:12Speaker 5: him take on other teams that I've been on. And
- 9:16Speaker 5: he's always been a fiery guy. He's always been emotional.
- 9:18Speaker 5: That has always been this thing from back when I
- 9:20Speaker 5: saw him as a rookie with the Cubs. But as
- 9:23Speaker 5: a leader, how does that emotion, how does that emotion
- 9:28Speaker 5: play through? And you're seeing it, you know, just really
- 9:32Speaker 5: culminating too much stuff here?
- 9:35Speaker 2: Do you guys think that Red Sox players are starting
- 9:38Speaker 2: to get tired of something popping up every day from him?
- 9:41Speaker 2: I mean, it's great content to look at, right. It
- 9:43Speaker 2: makes a team that's been pretty crap much more interesting.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I mean, Kratz, we're leading off talking about Contreras way
- 9:50Speaker 2: more than we expected. Not just Contraras, we're leading off
- 9:54Speaker 2: shows talking about the Red Sox way more than we
- 9:56Speaker 2: expected to. I mean, the Red Sox are full of drama.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You know, they get rid of Korra, get rid of
- 10:00Speaker 2: the coaching staff. The team's not playing well, right, like
- 10:03Speaker 2: there's NonStop action going on up there. But Contreras is
- 10:07Speaker 2: the guy. I mean, he's probably top three in our sport,
- 10:10Speaker 2: if not number one in the power rankings right now
- 10:12Speaker 2: in terms of movers and shakers, right Like he eats
- 10:15Speaker 2: the plate for his abs and then when someone pitches inside,
- 10:19Speaker 2: you might even hit the inside corner for a strike
- 10:21Speaker 2: and he's like, hey, what are you doing. You're coming
- 10:23Speaker 2: after me? Like that's just his game, right And some
- 10:26Speaker 2: guys just I mean, we talked about Josh Naylor the
- 10:28Speaker 2: other day. Some people get pissed off by him. AJ's
- 10:30Speaker 2: on this show all the time. Plenty of people got
- 10:32Speaker 2: pissed off by him. This is part of Wilson Contreras's game.
- 10:36Speaker 2: But I do completely see what you're saying, Kratz is,
- 10:39Speaker 2: do you need to basically go right up into the
- 10:42Speaker 2: starting pitcher's face when you're walking off the field. We
- 10:44Speaker 2: never see that that incited all of this at the
- 10:47Speaker 2: beginning here.
- 10:49Speaker 5: It did, but I mean, if that's what inside, I
- 10:52Speaker 5: don't know if he even cited it. Kate Cavally could
- 10:54Speaker 5: have been. There's a lot of pitchers that would have been.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I member, Dallas Bradon, remember he got he yelled that
- 11:00Speaker 5: a rod for running across his mound. Like there's certain
- 11:03Speaker 5: things that like, okay, it sparks something, but it's not
- 11:06Speaker 5: like Cavali came back and threw at him the next
- 11:09Speaker 5: pitch and was like, don't ever get that close to
- 11:11Speaker 5: me or anything like. I felt like it was calmed down.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Then he yelled. Then Contreras elevated it again, and I
- 11:20Speaker 5: just think there's I think there's a lot of trash
- 11:22Speaker 5: talking that we never see as media. And to say,
- 11:26Speaker 5: are his teammates annoyed by it? I mean, until a
- 11:29Speaker 5: teammate says it, no, I would say, I have no idea.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I can't. I can't answer to that. Are they annoyed
- 11:34Speaker 5: that their best hitter has been out of the lineup
- 11:37Speaker 5: the last two days because of his emotional choices? Yes,
- 11:41Speaker 5: that's annoying unless they're all sitting there like, oh whatever,
- 11:44Speaker 5: I'm just trying to get my numbers. No, they're trying
- 11:46Speaker 5: to win. They swept the Yankees. They want to do good,
- 11:49Speaker 5: so you need your best players out there. That would
- 11:52Speaker 5: be annoying, but his emotions, No, I don't think. I
- 11:55Speaker 5: wouldn't think it's annoying until I hear one of their
- 11:57Speaker 5: teammates saying, like the breaks.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he's their best player this year, Todd Father,
- 12:03Speaker 2: So I mean, you know, I'm just going on for me.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I'm like, I would love to have a guy like that,
- 12:08Speaker 2: especially on a team that's got to wake up a
- 12:09Speaker 2: little bit. You know, I think if Cavali even said hey,
- 12:13Speaker 2: he would have been running at him.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I know that they have to, you know, they have
- 12:17Speaker 2: their whole thing about the word boy and getting that
- 12:19Speaker 2: out of his vocabulary. I got all that right, But
- 12:21Speaker 2: I think even if he said hey, sit down, he
- 12:24Speaker 2: was running at it like it was going to start it.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Contraras is also hot right now, Like he's he's dealing,
- 12:29Speaker 2: like you said, with a lot going on at home,
- 12:30Speaker 2: Venezuela going through a tragedy. That's real, right, He's already
- 12:33Speaker 2: a hot head. I don't think that's a secret in
- 12:36Speaker 2: our sport. So if you take a hot head and
- 12:38Speaker 2: then you juice him up for the week because there's
- 12:40Speaker 2: stuff going on back at home and he's playing for
- 12:42Speaker 2: a team that's not playing well, yeah, he's going to
- 12:45Speaker 2: be the wildest man in the league right now. And
- 12:48Speaker 2: that's what he is.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah, And if I was on his team, and yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 3: I was always close to him. I just by head man,
- 12:53Speaker 3: lead with example on the field. You've been doing great,
- 12:56Speaker 3: you know, be our fearless leader on the field, Keep dominating,
- 12:59Speaker 3: keep going out you know we love everything about that.
- 13:03Speaker 3: You know, maybe just understand. You know, you got twenty
- 13:06Speaker 3: five other guys in the dugout or what twenty so
- 13:09Speaker 3: whatever it is, and coaches and everybody else that are
- 13:12Speaker 3: looking for you to lead and be our guy. We
- 13:14Speaker 3: don't need you to do anything else than that. And
- 13:17Speaker 3: go out there and lead, and we're gonna follow you
- 13:19Speaker 3: and ride the horse until we we meaning the Red
- 13:22Speaker 3: Sox hopefully have a chance to make the playoffs, which
- 13:25Speaker 3: you know they're getting better, but at the same time,
- 13:27Speaker 3: they still got a ways to go.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and you love to see the fire. You love
- 13:31Speaker 5: to see team teammates backing each other up. There's a
- 13:34Speaker 5: reason we don't want to see bench clearing. And it
- 13:37Speaker 5: almost could have been something terrible with Nate Eaton the.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I'm not sure Nate Eaton and Miles Michaelis.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't even know if he was in the game,
- 13:48Speaker 5: but either way, Miles Michaelis threw Nate eaton and you
- 13:51Speaker 5: see it like he like they were pushing seven, whether
- 13:54Speaker 5: he threw him or tripped, and he and he landed
- 13:57Speaker 5: on somebody's the side of somebody's leg. I forget which
- 14:00Speaker 5: catcher it was. That could have been. That could have
- 14:03Speaker 5: been the end of if it was wrong, if it
- 14:06Speaker 5: was Narvaias, whoever it was, that could have been the
- 14:09Speaker 5: end of their season. Because of the way they landed
- 14:11Speaker 5: on his leg. It would have been a freak thing
- 14:15Speaker 5: and everybody would have been like, oh.
- 14:16Speaker 4: My gosh, are we serious.
- 14:18Speaker 5: So it's like, how do you take that level of
- 14:22Speaker 5: we're here, we're fighting, we're doing everything we can without
- 14:25Speaker 5: actually being here and fighting.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 2: The only thing that I felt was wrong with Contreras
- 14:32Speaker 2: is don't go right up into a picture's face, the
- 14:35Speaker 2: starting pitcher's face. We don't see that, Like you said,
- 14:37Speaker 2: Kratz for a reason. You want to pimp the horners,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you want to do the whole dance, Oh yes, yes,
- 14:41Speaker 2: throwing your helmet once we get to the brawl, I'm saying,
- 14:43Speaker 2: pre brawl, people are trying to blame, like who caused it?
- 14:46Speaker 5: Right?
- 14:46Speaker 2: Like, and I get it. He's super offended. He doesn't
- 14:48Speaker 2: want to hear, Yes, Contreras caused it. He doesn't want
- 14:51Speaker 2: to hear Kate Cavali came out and he's been strong today.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I couldn't sleep. I'm heartbroken. I didn't realize this word
- 14:57Speaker 2: was offensive to him. Like I apologize ten times over
- 14:59Speaker 2: and I get credit for that, right, and so we
- 15:03Speaker 2: got that, but also like, don't start it. I mean,
- 15:06Speaker 2: I think Contros wants to start it. I think he
- 15:08Speaker 2: wants to get a little, get a little into it
- 15:11Speaker 2: right now, and that's him. So So anyway, a lot
- 15:14Speaker 2: of lessons learned here, at least some lessons learned here.
- 15:17Speaker 2: And if you have thoughts on this one and you're
- 15:19Speaker 2: watching it after, drop a comment for us, because, yeah,
- 15:22Speaker 2: there was a lot of heat in that matchup between
- 15:24Speaker 2: the Red Sox and the Nationals. Yeah, Red Sox Nationals
- 15:27Speaker 2: all of a sudden has a little juice to it.
- 15:29Speaker 2: People dehydration sucks, quints, electrolyte stick packs to the rescue.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I order them, I use them all of the time.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Somebody who may or may not have had some adult
- 15:41Speaker 6: beverages in their life. The next day, you know what flavor?
- 15:43Speaker 6: I like watermelon and I don't like watermelon. I'll go
- 15:47Speaker 6: raspberry and it helps me to get my citrus salt in.
- 15:51Speaker 6: But if I do, it helps me to get back
- 15:53Speaker 6: to normal, feeling good and ready to go the next day.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yep, tough workout or dry them out in the morning.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Whatever it is, this is going to help you out.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Quints always has the best deals for you. You can
- 16:03Speaker 2: go on their website and see a number of products

- 16:26Speaker 2: Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, street
- 16:28Speaker 2: care or prevent any disease. Todd Father, The Yankees have
- 16:31Speaker 2: lost six in a row. They're twelve and fourteen in June.
- 16:33Speaker 2: It's the regular June soon. I'm not even worried about this,
- 16:35Speaker 2: and I know Schlitler had, you know, as worst started
- 16:37Speaker 2: the year, Schooble looked great for the Tigers. Wait, hold up.
- 16:41Speaker 2: The part that stood out to me yesterday was Aaron
- 16:44Speaker 2: Boone going, Judge is weeks away from follow up reimaging,
- 16:48Speaker 2: weeks away from follow up reimaging. Like, let's call that
- 16:51Speaker 2: a month. It's July first go ways to go, like
- 16:55Speaker 2: we're looking at I mean probably mid August, maybe late August,
- 16:58Speaker 2: Like it's if imaging good?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Yeah, where do I start here? It just it seemed
- 17:06Speaker 3: like they were doing okay. They took two or three
- 17:09Speaker 3: from Detroit and Detroit and then they lost two at
- 17:13Speaker 3: of three from the Reds and you're like, what is
- 17:15Speaker 3: what's up?
- 17:15Speaker 4: And now it's just it's just going haywire here. Man.
- 17:19Speaker 3: They can't hit their their biggest horse is getting hit
- 17:24Speaker 3: around right now. Yeah, you know, I had the last
- 17:26Speaker 3: two starts have been not his best, Garrett Coles leaving
- 17:30Speaker 3: pitchers out over the middle of the plate. Weather's had
- 17:32Speaker 3: a bad outing. He's been a plus for the Yankees,
- 17:36Speaker 3: rod down a little bit like usually it was the bullpen.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Now it seems like everybody is chipping in here for
- 17:43Speaker 3: you know, not doing so well. So when the Yankees
- 17:46Speaker 3: go bad, it seems like these last couple of years
- 17:48Speaker 3: it's been really bad. When they go good, it seems
- 17:50Speaker 3: like it's been really good. There's no happy medium. They
- 17:53Speaker 3: need their big guns back. Bellinger's struggling.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Man. That's one guy too.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Ben Rice has done okay, you know we need him
- 18:01Speaker 3: back on the snide. You can go up and down
- 18:03Speaker 3: the lineup, you know, No, Ryan McMahon, John Carlos Stanton,
- 18:07Speaker 3: Aaron Judge. You know, I don't know. I can't pinpoint
- 18:12Speaker 3: where it is, but I know it seems like everybody
- 18:15Speaker 3: is factoring inn in these losses.
- 18:16Speaker 4: And it's just it. They're going down a spile right
- 18:19Speaker 4: now that they need to figure out. All right.
- 18:29Speaker 2: So Mets owner Steve Cohen is going public with comments
- 18:33Speaker 2: since the Carlos Mendoza firing in a tumultuous season for
- 18:37Speaker 2: the Mets, and he spoke to Joel Sherman and John
- 18:40Speaker 2: Hayman from the New York Post and he said, Hey,
- 18:43Speaker 2: David Stearns is not going out anywhere. He is going
- 18:45Speaker 2: to live out the remainder of his five year contract.
- 18:49Speaker 2: This would be back to back years of missing the
- 18:51Speaker 2: postseason for the Mets unless something crazy goes on, it
- 18:54Speaker 2: looks like they're going to be sellers. So he confirmed
- 18:58Speaker 2: that they're going to figure out what changes to be made,
- 19:00Speaker 2: but it is not going to be the president of
- 19:02Speaker 2: Baseball Operations. I don't know if it's ever been publicized,
- 19:06Speaker 2: but I think the rumored contract is five years, fifty
- 19:09Speaker 2: million bucks. And I know that's a drop in the
- 19:12Speaker 2: bucket for a billionaire, but that's that's a really, really
- 19:16Speaker 2: big baseball operations salary right there. That's no joke. So
- 19:23Speaker 2: Todd father, David Sterns is going to have a chance
- 19:26Speaker 2: to turn this around for you know, another couple of
- 19:28Speaker 2: years with the Mets, right, I believe Kratz this would
- 19:31Speaker 2: be after this year. Two years left, So if you
- 19:34Speaker 2: go three years ago, right, and so we're in twenty
- 19:37Speaker 2: twenty six, twenty five, they missed twenty four, the Mets
- 19:40Speaker 2: made it to the NLCS and everyone's like Sterns took over,
- 19:42Speaker 2: he's a genius, and two years since they look like crap.
- 19:45Speaker 2: So two more years to figure this out after this year.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Let's start here, Todd father, do you agree with this?
- 19:51Speaker 2: And there's layers to this, do you agree not just
- 19:54Speaker 2: on one more year, but it sounds like he's going
- 19:55Speaker 2: to get two more years even if they stink again
- 19:58Speaker 2: next year.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I think if you're going, you gotta lay the
- 20:03Speaker 3: law down. And then what I mean by to say,
- 20:05Speaker 3: it's like you either got to have you guys back
- 20:08Speaker 3: or not. And I think, honestly, this is what he
- 20:11Speaker 3: should do. If he really believes in Sterns, this is
- 20:13Speaker 3: what you should do. Give him a little peace of mind,
- 20:16Speaker 3: you know, whether you agree or not. And I think
- 20:19Speaker 3: he does. I think he does. I don't think he's
- 20:20Speaker 3: a liar. I think he I think he deserves one
- 20:23Speaker 3: more year.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I do. I do.
- 20:25Speaker 3: But in New York it's a what have you done
- 20:26Speaker 3: for me lately? Place in the Northeast, what have you
- 20:30Speaker 3: done for me lately? Yeah, And Bowden said the best
- 20:34Speaker 3: man Bowden, he said, listen to the love you. They
- 20:36Speaker 3: hate you, and right now there's not much love going on.
- 20:39Speaker 4: In clean in Queen. So you know, honestly, I would
- 20:44Speaker 4: give him another year.
- 20:46Speaker 3: See how that goes, even if he has another year
- 20:48Speaker 3: on the contract, Like you said, if that doesn't transpire,
- 20:51Speaker 3: then maybe it's time to move on. So again, if
- 20:54Speaker 3: you're Stevie Cohen, make sure your guy knows that you
- 20:57Speaker 3: have his back. It just right now, it's just not
- 21:00Speaker 3: looking good for these this Mets team. It's just been
- 21:03Speaker 3: a debacle. So again somebody has to be has to
- 21:06Speaker 3: get the finger pointed at, and right now it's him.
- 21:09Speaker 3: But again, to hear that from from the top dog,
- 21:13Speaker 3: it's got to make you feel good if you're Sterns.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Yeah, he's definitely He's given them the vote of confidence.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Maybe that's the dreaded vote of confidence. And when they
- 21:22Speaker 5: say two more years, like if they do this again
- 21:25Speaker 5: next year, they had the same type of offseason again
- 21:28Speaker 5: next year. Yeah, you're you're you're probably not going to
- 21:31Speaker 5: see him in his fifth season, like you they'll pay
- 21:34Speaker 5: him out through that time. But to me, I am
- 21:38Speaker 5: a David Sterns proponent. I saw what he did. I
- 21:42Speaker 5: saw how he interacted. I saw the people that he
- 21:44Speaker 5: hired underneath him. Matt Arnold is now running the is
- 21:49Speaker 5: now running the front office with the Brewers and doing
- 21:52Speaker 5: really well. I saw, you know, Pat Murphy was one
- 21:55Speaker 5: of the hirings that he had. Craig Counsel was one
- 21:58Speaker 5: of the higher Like these are guys that I really
- 22:00Speaker 5: respect in the game, how they handle players and how
- 22:04Speaker 5: they handle different things. It hasn't worked out in New York.
- 22:07Speaker 5: If there's somebody that would turn it around, in my opinion,
- 22:11Speaker 5: it would be a David Stearns. And that might not
- 22:14Speaker 5: be a very a very popular thing to say right now,
- 22:20Speaker 5: but I think he's also a guy who, while he's
- 22:24Speaker 5: stubborn on what he thinks is the best for the game,
- 22:29Speaker 5: I think he is also really good at being introspective
- 22:32Speaker 5: and looking to say, Okay, why is this not working?
- 22:35Speaker 5: What if I had signed Corbyn Burns like every fan
- 22:38Speaker 5: wanted me to. Okay, well that hasn't worked out. Okay,
- 22:41Speaker 5: what if I signed Ranger Swarz. I think I mean
- 22:45Speaker 5: Max Free. There's a lot of Max Freed's hurt, Ranger
- 22:48Speaker 5: swaz is having a good year. What if? There's a
- 22:50Speaker 5: lot of what ifs. But he's a guy that looks
- 22:53Speaker 5: at his processes and he encourages the people around him
- 22:57Speaker 5: to question him. And what that it looks like in
- 23:00Speaker 5: the end, is what the Brewers have. The Brewers didn't
- 23:04Speaker 5: happen in three years. The Brewers happened over a certain
- 23:08Speaker 5: amount of years. And I think David Stearns can turn
- 23:11Speaker 5: this around. I really do.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, And you just have to learn quickly from
- 23:16Speaker 2: your mistakes. That's the thing. Like the off season did
- 23:18Speaker 2: not work out for them, that's very obvious. And also
- 23:21Speaker 2: just massive amounts of inconsistency usually leads to a problem.
- 23:25Speaker 2: You need some focus here. You can't gut the staff,
- 23:27Speaker 2: cut the roster. You have to settle down a little bit.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I think that's a thing right that anyone can observe.
- 23:33Speaker 2: You can't just have a total upheaval and then it's
- 23:35Speaker 2: all going to work in five minutes.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Totally. But I also would say Stevie Cohen may have
- 23:43Speaker 5: a little bit more of a hand in this, like
- 23:48Speaker 5: how much I just don't see David Stern saying and
- 23:51Speaker 5: maybe this isn't the case. Well, the Phillies are going
- 23:54Speaker 5: to get Bobachett. We need to get Bobachett. We didn't
- 23:57Speaker 5: just get Kyle Tucker. He spurned us for the Dodgers. Crap.
- 24:03Speaker 5: We need to pivot. I would love a light detector
- 24:06Speaker 5: test on David Stearns and Stevie Cohen that that was
- 24:12Speaker 5: not a panic move. And I'm not saying that's what's
- 24:15Speaker 5: ruined this offseason. I think it's been how they developed
- 24:19Speaker 5: the team and the way that guys have stayed healthy
- 24:20Speaker 5: and the kind of you know, they've just they flipped
- 24:24Speaker 5: some coins, I think, and it's coming up the wrong
- 24:27Speaker 5: way both times.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and guys out of position. The whole deal. A
- 24:31Speaker 2: se Geek is MLB's official ticket marketplace, and in addition

- 25:29Speaker 2: you to see geek better than box scores. There's a
- 25:39Speaker 2: few other notables from Tuesday's games. Cooper Engle just got
- 25:45Speaker 2: to the show and he had the epic story crowds
- 25:48Speaker 2: that we went over the other day where they're knocking
- 25:50Speaker 2: on the door and he's like, huh, who's knocking room service? No,
- 25:55Speaker 2: is your manager. They want you to go to the show.
- 25:58Speaker 2: He threw a bomb in the stands. He didn't nomine
- 26:00Speaker 2: there were He was like all right, ending over and
- 26:02Speaker 2: the rangers were like, thanks, we'll take the run. I mean,
- 26:05Speaker 2: you get it out of the way. Early in the career,
- 26:07Speaker 2: he's never going to do that again, right, like paint
- 26:10Speaker 2: the picture for me, krats twelve years from now he's
- 26:14Speaker 2: still in the bigs. Is he still thinking about that?
- 26:18Speaker 2: Like every time? Like how many outs?
- 26:20Speaker 4: Okay?
- 26:22Speaker 5: I mean it becomes a habit that. Look, he's gonna
- 26:25Speaker 5: forget the outs again? Is he gonna throw the ball
- 26:28Speaker 5: into the stands? Absolutely not.
- 26:31Speaker 4: He won't.
- 26:32Speaker 5: And I think that's why some of the guys, some
- 26:34Speaker 5: of the catchers throw it to the first basement. As
- 26:37Speaker 5: they're running in for the third out, They're like, you
- 26:40Speaker 5: forgot like people forget the outs, like they give the hole.
- 26:45Speaker 5: They give the whole like two steps off and then
- 26:47Speaker 5: everyone's like, oh, we got two here, so you gotta
- 26:52Speaker 5: brush it off. Like I man, he's never gonna forget it.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Let's put it that way. Do you ever do it? No?
- 27:02Speaker 4: No, I never. I'm I usually look around person. No,
- 27:09Speaker 4: I never threw the ball. Oh sure, sure it's happened before.
- 27:14Speaker 3: But when I do want to throw them, bustid I
- 27:16Speaker 3: always just take a second look to make sure I
- 27:18Speaker 3: was one hundred percent right.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Never never done that before. But who was it? Todd Benzinger,
- 27:26Speaker 4: remember him?
- 27:26Speaker 3: He caught the ball at the end of winning World
- 27:28Speaker 3: Series against the A's when he was with the Reds.
- 27:30Speaker 3: He caught the foul ball and he looked around to
- 27:32Speaker 3: double check because he wasn't one hundred percent sure.
- 27:35Speaker 4: But yeah, it just it was a bonehead play. What
- 27:39Speaker 4: are you gonna do?
- 27:41Speaker 2: Mhm?
- 27:43Speaker 5: Everybody's everybody's human, even rookies.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Yeah, let's get to it.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Vetteran sandal Contra and the Marlins really having the best
- 27:53Speaker 2: month in baseball. So twenty and six is how they
- 27:57Speaker 2: wrapped it up, outscoring opponents one twenty nine to seventy eight.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Lowest CBT payroll in baseball. This is Jeff Passon's tweet.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Third highest paid player on the payroll is John Carlos Stanton.
- 28:12Speaker 2: He has not been on the Marlins since twenty seventeen.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Sandale Contre was talked about if you want to see
- 28:17Speaker 2: more too, We did a nice combo with Isaaca Zude
- 28:20Speaker 2: from Fish on first part of the FT Network for
- 28:22Speaker 2: Tuesday's show, So that podcast is out already too if
- 28:25Speaker 2: you want to listen to it audio wise. But for Sandy,
- 28:28Speaker 2: I mean the era he went undefeated in June, the
- 28:32Speaker 2: ra was low twos, low to mid twos, and he
- 28:35Speaker 2: was not good in May. So you get a little
- 28:37Speaker 2: bit of that. You get the offense clicking at the
- 28:38Speaker 2: right time, and all of a sudden you can be
- 28:40Speaker 2: in the wildcard picture. I mean, Todd Father. With the
- 28:43Speaker 2: way the American League's been this year, the Marlins would
- 28:45Speaker 2: have probably been the best team in the American League.
- 28:47Speaker 2: They're just in the wrong league right now. National League
- 28:50Speaker 2: is much better than the AL but they're in it.
- 28:52Speaker 2: They've got a more than a fighter's chances. We're past
- 28:55Speaker 2: the halfway mark and they're just hitting their stride.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think this is the I wouldn't want
- 29:02Speaker 3: to say a problem, but having three three teams being
- 29:08Speaker 3: able to make it if if you don't win your
- 29:11Speaker 3: division makes it very interesting for some people. For some teams,
- 29:16Speaker 3: I should say. Now, these teams that are sellers, usually
- 29:19Speaker 3: at the at the trade deadline, are like, well, maybe
- 29:23Speaker 3: we want to keep going here, we're battling, we're a
- 29:25Speaker 3: good team, and then maybe it's false hope, maybe it's not.
- 29:29Speaker 3: So that's where as an organization you got to come
- 29:32Speaker 3: and realize, like, what are we really doing here? And
- 29:34Speaker 3: to have al Contera come back and be dominant and
- 29:37Speaker 3: be the be the Sandy that we know.
- 29:40Speaker 4: I love watching him pitch.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I love watching him play, and every time he's on
- 29:43Speaker 3: the mount, it seems like they're gonna win. And you
- 29:46Speaker 3: know he's he's got player of the month status right,
- 29:48Speaker 3: pretty much wrapped up in my opinion for the pitcher.
- 29:51Speaker 3: So good for the Marlins man, let's go, let's keep
- 29:54Speaker 3: this rocking. It's like the White Sox. You know, these
- 29:56Speaker 3: teams that are coming out of the woodworks and that
- 29:59Speaker 3: don't have a big payroll and they're doing their thing parody.
- 30:02Speaker 3: We've talked about this numerous times with Bruce Bruce Meyer.
- 30:06Speaker 3: I mean, listen, it's it's crazy to think, oh, the
- 30:10Speaker 3: Marlins are good. Yeah, well guess what, they're playing hard
- 30:12Speaker 3: and they got a good little team.
- 30:14Speaker 5: Nobody takes their wallet up to the batter's box, so
- 30:17Speaker 5: it doesn't matter what you're getting paid when you're competing
- 30:20Speaker 5: against the other team. But my question to you guys is,
- 30:23Speaker 5: or more to you TOADD, which team do you think
- 30:26Speaker 5: is better? The Marlins or the White Sox. Completely different leagues,
- 30:31Speaker 5: but two teams that are built completely different and they're
- 30:35Speaker 5: both almost identical. Records the White Sox are forty five
- 30:39Speaker 5: and thirty nine, and I think the we just said
- 30:42Speaker 5: to Marlin's up there, they're forty whatever, forty six and
- 30:47Speaker 5: forty I think records.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Yeah, so I that question. I think they answer that question.
- 30:54Speaker 3: You got to look at the division and for me,
- 30:58Speaker 3: how many teams in the AL Central are gonna make it?
- 31:01Speaker 3: How many teams in the NL East are gonna make it?
- 31:03Speaker 3: So you know that battle and who are the better
- 31:07Speaker 3: teams in that division.
- 31:09Speaker 4: I think the better.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Teams are in the Al East, in my opinion, So
- 31:14Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be harder for the Marlins, but
- 31:17Speaker 3: in l least and at least and at least, excuse me,
- 31:19Speaker 3: in the Al Central. I I you know, I what
- 31:23Speaker 3: what did aj Hinch stead? He still thinks his team's
- 31:26Speaker 3: got a little beauzzz I I still don't see them
- 31:29Speaker 3: making the playoffs this year. So I you know, I
- 31:32Speaker 3: think they're going on a nice little flow here. You know,
- 31:34Speaker 3: they're doing well, and that's part of baseball, and school's
- 31:37Speaker 3: doing well. The Guardians are good. You know, the Guardians
- 31:41Speaker 3: are good. The White Sox are good. I think those
- 31:43Speaker 3: two are going to be battling. So I would say
- 31:45Speaker 3: the White Sox right now.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Are the better team.
- 31:48Speaker 4: You're saying right now, right now, I would say some See.
- 31:51Speaker 5: I thought you were the whole all your explanation. I
- 31:53Speaker 5: thought you were going to agree with me. I think
- 31:55Speaker 5: the Marlins are the better team because they have to
- 31:57Speaker 5: play better competition. I think the White Socks may end
- 32:00Speaker 5: up in a better situation, but I think the Marlins.
- 32:04Speaker 3: And that's why I'm saying so, I probably didn't answer
- 32:07Speaker 3: your question correctly, But I think it's gonna be easier
- 32:10Speaker 3: for the White.
- 32:11Speaker 4: Sox, gotcha, got you, guys, I would.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Say Marlins are the better team. So I was going
- 32:16Speaker 3: by division only, so excuse me on that. But yes,
- 32:18Speaker 3: I would say Marlins. Sorry, Okay, White Sox might have
- 32:22Speaker 3: the easier opportunity, is what I meant to say.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it just made me think about because
- 32:27Speaker 5: Scott was like, what if the Marlins were in the
- 32:29Speaker 5: American League, And I was like, I bet their record
- 32:31Speaker 5: is very close to the White Sox, And I'm like, yes,
- 32:34Speaker 5: and I look at this team, I watch him, and
- 32:35Speaker 5: I'm like, I like the Marlins way better than I like.
- 32:40Speaker 5: I mean, you could. You can give me everybody every
- 32:42Speaker 5: picture on the White Sox staff, and I'm gonna take
- 32:44Speaker 5: Max Meyer over every like you. I really like Max Meyer.
- 32:48Speaker 5: I really like the fact that what al Contra is doing. Like,
- 32:51Speaker 5: I just think there's there's more to like about the
- 32:54Speaker 5: Marlins than there's the White Sox. And yet one is
- 32:57Speaker 5: in a division lead and kind of got a good
- 33:00Speaker 5: hold on the playoff spot, and the other one is
- 33:03Speaker 5: clawing and fighting in the Marlins.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a look at the AL Central standings, they're
- 33:09Speaker 2: too clear of Cleveland, and then there's some more solid
- 33:12Speaker 2: separation after that in the AL Central. H quick moment
- 33:16Speaker 2: here before he moved the next topic to NL Central.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I just remember this from yesterday. P Carl Armstrong confirmed
- 33:22Speaker 2: to media he's not down for the home run Derby.
- 33:24Speaker 2: If he got asked, he wouldn't necessarily be asked. I
- 33:26Speaker 2: don't think you know, he's the guy you think of
- 33:30Speaker 2: when you go home run Derby. Give me five guys
- 33:32Speaker 2: need to see or ten guys you need to see.
- 33:34Speaker 2: He's got pop. He's been one of the best players
- 33:36Speaker 2: in the sport in the first half. He's he probably
- 33:39Speaker 2: at this point would finish second for MVP in the
- 33:43Speaker 2: National League if it ended today. Kratz based on the
- 33:46Speaker 2: base running in the I mean he's leading in war,
- 33:48Speaker 2: and we know a lot of people vote on War.
- 33:50Speaker 2: He's leading in more so he'd Derby.
- 33:54Speaker 5: I'd like to see him in the home run Derby
- 33:56Speaker 5: going and catching the fly balls in center field, like
- 33:58Speaker 5: just make him go around and like rob homes and stuff.
- 34:00Speaker 5: That would be sick.
- 34:02Speaker 2: That's whereby that.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Oh yeah, been a part of that. That's a lot
- 34:07Speaker 4: of fun.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Do you think there's a lot of people that are
- 34:12Speaker 3: saying no to the home run derby now, like as
- 34:13Speaker 3: we're getting closer here, like it shouldn't the field be
- 34:17Speaker 3: set pretty much close to being said. I know they
- 34:19Speaker 3: put the money money towards it and everything. I know
- 34:22Speaker 3: some guys are waiting to see if they'll be on
- 34:24Speaker 3: the stars.
- 34:25Speaker 5: No, yeah, I think that's where we're less.
- 34:29Speaker 4: We're less than two weeks. No, I know.
- 34:31Speaker 2: I mean Junior Camenaar is the only one that's confirmed
- 34:33Speaker 2: so far. But I think it's two different questions. I mean,
- 34:37Speaker 2: for me, it is early, so it's not long. You're
- 34:39Speaker 2: going to get the whole field two weeks before. But
- 34:42Speaker 2: Todd Father, I do think there are.
- 34:44Speaker 4: A little bit. I think we're pressing.
- 34:46Speaker 3: We got less than two weeks, bro, Come on, there's
- 34:49Speaker 3: no you guys warm up you know before games. Oh
- 34:53Speaker 3: look at you want to assess. But it's hitting on
- 34:55Speaker 3: the field. What is VP thrower?
- 34:57Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I hope they get some. I hope they get some
- 35:01Speaker 3: dudes out there, you know what I mean?
- 35:02Speaker 5: So that well, that's what I think. I think those
- 35:05Speaker 5: dudes are waiting. I think those dudes are waiting. I
- 35:08Speaker 5: think I think what That's why I asked Christian what
- 35:11Speaker 5: he thought, Like, Hey, if if I don't get into
- 35:14Speaker 5: the All Star Game, I don't want to go do it.
- 35:16Speaker 5: So I think there's more on that. So I think
- 35:18Speaker 5: some dudes are waiting for the final final vote tallies.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Yeah, OK, there's marketing strategy to this, right, I mean,
- 35:26Speaker 2: at least one of Schwarber Harper's going to participate. They're
- 35:30Speaker 2: probably going to announce that closer to time so that
- 35:33Speaker 2: it serves as its own ad. Basically, hey, tune into
- 35:37Speaker 2: the derby. They should both do it. I agree. I
- 35:40Speaker 2: do think there was some way to what Christian Walker
- 35:43Speaker 2: was saying, though Todd Fither it doesn't matter if you
- 35:44Speaker 2: agree or not. He's like, eh, it's not as sexy
- 35:46Speaker 2: as it used to be. If he's saying that this
- 35:48Speaker 2: guy who's been in the league for a while, he's
- 35:49Speaker 2: been you know, around stars. He is a big star
- 35:52Speaker 2: in the sport, right like or I mean not the
- 35:55Speaker 2: not maybe the most known name, but one of the
- 35:57Speaker 2: better first basemen in our sport and a power hitting guy.
- 35:59Speaker 4: And he's like, change they change it. I mean it
- 36:05Speaker 4: just I don't know.
- 36:07Speaker 3: I'm like in between on it like, all of a sudden,
- 36:10Speaker 3: we're going to change it again. I've been a part
- 36:14Speaker 3: of three different ones. It's like, you know, I like
- 36:18Speaker 3: the time, I thought that was great. You know, I
- 36:20Speaker 3: thought that was I think the only problem with that
- 36:23Speaker 3: is I think fans want.
- 36:25Speaker 4: To see the ball, how far it goes and where.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Which is understandable. So okay, you want to limit it
- 36:31Speaker 3: to certain amount of swings, fine, okay, but you know
- 36:35Speaker 3: that goes back to the time where you know, you
- 36:38Speaker 3: get ten swings, So why not if he hit the
- 36:40Speaker 3: home or keep it right? You know, Like I don't know,
- 36:42Speaker 3: So it's all about let's hurry up and then let's
- 36:48Speaker 3: watch bull you know what I mean, Like, all of
- 36:51Speaker 3: a sudden, I don't know what the answer is, so
- 36:53Speaker 3: I'm complaining with no answer.
- 36:55Speaker 4: So that doesn't help either. But just still we're on
- 36:57Speaker 4: the topic.
- 36:58Speaker 3: It's like, all right, well now twenty fifty fifteen, Like
- 37:01Speaker 3: who comes up with this stuff?
- 37:02Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fun to watch, but yeah, you want to
- 37:08Speaker 2: see the big boys that are in the derby one
- 37:12Speaker 2: more thing and better than box scores. Just a little
- 37:14Speaker 2: tweak to the best player in the world, and when
- 37:16Speaker 2: he's going to pitch. He was supposed to start today,
- 37:18Speaker 2: actually Wednesday against the A's. They're pushing him to Friday
- 37:22Speaker 2: against the Padres, little divisional matchup for show. Hey, and
- 37:27Speaker 2: also congrats to Dave Roberts one thousandth win as a manager.
- 37:31Speaker 2: And there were more Dodgers fans than other fans? Is
- 37:34Speaker 2: he fastest?
- 37:34Speaker 4: Ever?
- 37:35Speaker 2: I didn't see that, that's what it said. Maybe you
- 37:37Speaker 2: might be right. Someone will have an answer for me
- 37:39Speaker 2: in five seconds. But there were more Dodger fans and
- 37:43Speaker 2: Sacramento than A's fans, So yes, fast as ever. They
- 37:46Speaker 2: were celebrating a little bit on the field. He gave
- 37:48Speaker 2: a tip of the cap.
- 37:51Speaker 5: Shocker in our chat who answered that Homer.
- 37:57Speaker 2: It's Clint, one of our Dodgers tech Tory hosts a
- 38:01Speaker 2: little over sixteen hundred games to do the job. Yes,
- 38:04Speaker 2: and it is his job. All right, let's slap, all right,
- 38:16Speaker 2: it's mouth keeping. We do a YouTube pollet almost every day,
- 38:19Speaker 2: and we said who's to blame for the Nationals red
- 38:21Speaker 2: Sox incident last night? Sixty percent said Wilson Contreras, versus
- 38:24Speaker 2: the forty percent for Kate Kowali. Also on tomorrow's show,
- 38:28Speaker 2: Guardians Starter Parker Messik will be joining us the Rookie.
- 38:32Speaker 2: He's in the Rookie of the Year running the Great Combo,
- 38:35Speaker 2: and he should be an All Star too, So I'm
- 38:37Speaker 2: looking forward to that one. Kratz hats, what do you
- 38:39Speaker 2: have for us?
- 38:41Speaker 4: I mean, why not?
- 38:43Speaker 5: We had our guy on so I got to wear
- 38:44Speaker 5: the Astros hat. Hey, they're in it. We didn't even
- 38:47Speaker 5: really ask him about being in the playoff chase or not,
- 38:49Speaker 5: because I don't like asking players that. Of course they're
- 38:52Speaker 5: in the playoff chase. Everybody thinks they're in a playoff chase.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not going to go. And I really like
- 38:58Speaker 2: our chances this year.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I hope we trade. I hope we trade everybody.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Exactly. Okay, on our way out here, we do have
- 39:08Speaker 2: a show Thursday. That's with Parker messek Ross. Strippling is
- 39:12Speaker 2: going to be on Friday. No show Friday, July fourth,
- 39:16Speaker 2: Holiday of Observation. It'll be July third, I'm well aware.
- 39:20Speaker 2: But if you're looking for us, we'll have stuff posted
- 39:22Speaker 2: on the podcast that Apple, Spotify, all that, but no
