- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of On the LINI in the afternoon.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hi, welcome, Hello.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I thought Aaron lost her voice.
- 0:16Speaker 2: No, I went high.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sexy, Yeah, sultry.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Less sexy and more unicorse. That was more like young Jo.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Why should I care?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Should I care? Okay, But this is not a blue podcast.
- 0:34Speaker 2: This is a podcast about the Golden Girls.
- 0:37Speaker 1: This is a blue hairs podcast.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you ever had like fun pop
- 0:44Speaker 2: hair colors, Gina?
- 0:46Speaker 1: I yes, the last day of tenth grade, I found
- 0:54Speaker 1: this thing. It was like a hot topic or something
- 0:58Speaker 1: where it was like a stick with like the hair
- 1:01Speaker 1: goop on it and you just rubbed it on your hair.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I never saw anything like that again. And it was blue.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And my dad still is like, oh God, you did
- 1:10Speaker 1: the blue hair? Like he still is like traumatized over it.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Would it just washed out?
- 1:15Speaker 3: I loved my blue hair.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But yeah, I've had all the colors except yellow and orange.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Pretty much that they make I've really got. I mean
- 1:27Speaker 2: there's shades, but of the like main colors. People to
- 1:30Speaker 2: their hair. I love it, and my mom and dad
- 1:33Speaker 2: got used to it by me beating them into submission.
- 1:37Speaker 4: It takes a while. Look at the old folks on
- 1:39Speaker 4: board with it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I've done like pink highlights, and my hair is
- 1:43Speaker 1: so dark. I have to get a bleach. It has
- 1:45Speaker 1: to bleach a long time. Yeah, your gals have lighter hair,
- 1:49Speaker 1: it's probably a lot easier.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Yeah, my hair lifts the color.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Really, I'm just sitting there under the dryer for like
- 1:55Speaker 1: an hour.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But Gina did have a bitch and mohawk at one point,
- 2:00Speaker 4: I sure did.
- 2:00Speaker 3: It was yeah awesome.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and now you'll be sharing that with all of
- 2:06Speaker 2: our adoring fans because why, Yeah, I used to be cool.
- 2:11Speaker 2: You're still call you're the coolest, said the other two
- 2:16Speaker 2: middle aged me. Okay, we're also cool.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Now let's take our fib or. So we're regular.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Speaking of being middle aged, I don't know if I've
- 2:26Speaker 4: said this or not, but my mom and I just
- 2:28Speaker 4: realized the other day when we were camping or something,
- 2:32Speaker 4: but we were talking about what the age bracket is
- 2:35Speaker 4: from middle aged, and it's like forty to sixty five.
- 2:39Speaker 3: So at this.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Point in time, my mom and I are in the
- 2:43Speaker 4: same age bracket.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We're both middle aged.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, you take a survey and it goes, what
- 2:49Speaker 1: what age are you? And you're like, oh, man, I'm
- 2:51Speaker 1: way up in this one.
- 2:52Speaker 3: We're both middle aged, so that's weird.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Really, So yeah, that seems old, okay, yeah, until I
- 3:03Speaker 1: get there and then I'll be like, it's not that
- 3:04Speaker 1: old that.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, sixty fives, forty five.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You're like, we're just living our best life, mom.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Right, does that mean that forty five is the new
- 3:16Speaker 2: twenty five or twenty.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yes, sure, twenty five is the new toddler.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna be twenty five this year.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Now you are to be able to rent a car.
- 3:30Speaker 2: That is a weird thing, right, Like you grow up
- 3:32Speaker 2: people saying that to you and you're like, why do
- 3:35Speaker 2: I care?
- 3:37Speaker 4: She's like a weird milestone.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It's like, like, what, I for sure you have to
- 3:42Speaker 1: be driving nine years before you rent a car.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I was no more responsible at twenty five than
- 3:48Speaker 2: I was at like, say, nineteen. So I don't know
- 3:51Speaker 2: what the magic of that number was, other than maybe
- 3:55Speaker 2: it was some like prehistoric notion based on the nine
- 4:01Speaker 2: years driving experience and the discount that goes like with
- 4:04Speaker 2: car insurance, as a good.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Driver got to be an insurance thing.
- 4:07Speaker 2: But oh, for sure, it is weird and you do
- 4:10Speaker 2: grow up hearing like you can rent a car like
- 4:13Speaker 2: you get the you get the lottery, take it, you
- 4:15Speaker 2: get that, you can drink and stuff, but like the twenty.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Five, we don't. We got nothing else for you.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Weird unexciting thing. Yeah, guess what, when you're in your forties, folks,
- 4:27Speaker 2: you'll qualify for your.
- 4:28Speaker 4: First colon and emigrams.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We'll start squishing your body.
- 4:34Speaker 2: They've been squishing my titties for a long time.
- 4:36Speaker 4: I started mine at thirty five.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah, our next milestone will be what aar.
- 4:41Speaker 2: P fifty five is that? Then? I don't know discounts.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I think five is the senior discount for most places.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Sick.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Yeah, almost there.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Actually I already have friends that qualify for that. My
- 4:56Speaker 2: buddy Matt got his like AARP the mail, and the
- 5:01Speaker 2: last time I was in California, which was now, as
- 5:03Speaker 2: it turns out, quite a while ago. The he was like, man,
- 5:06Speaker 2: I could have seen if I could got you like
- 5:08Speaker 2: a rate at like a hotel with my AARP card.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And I was like, shut the fuck up. Matt like, absolutely,
- 5:14Speaker 2: shut the fuck up with your AARP bullshit. But he
- 5:17Speaker 2: loves it. He always checks it on.
- 5:21Speaker 4: TikTok aaarp's TikTok is awesome. But they have like quiz
- 5:26Speaker 4: things on there with like millennials, like the different Gen
- 5:30Speaker 4: X millennials and whatever. The new one is Z or whatever,
- 5:34Speaker 4: and they do like quizzes with points and stuff with
- 5:36Speaker 4: like pop culture and stuff.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And I was sitting there.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Watching it one and I'm like, oh my god, I'm
- 5:40Speaker 4: sitting here watching aarps TikTok. But it was very entertaining.
- 5:45Speaker 1: And started telling you about our reverse mortgage. Yeah, You're like, well,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I don't think this is a good idea. Wilford Brimley
- 5:53Speaker 1: was telling you about diabetes.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Oh Bautis.
- 5:57Speaker 1: The Sears ad came on yesterday. Yesterday said you called
- 6:01Speaker 1: sir old stuff that nobody remembers. Our producer just had
- 6:12Speaker 1: a tantrum.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, guys, I would like to join the conversation
- 6:18Speaker 2: previously in progress, but honestly, I don't know where we
- 6:20Speaker 2: were and I don't and Abby was having some issues.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It's okay, we forget.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It's okay, now, that's fine, it's fine. I mean I
- 6:30Speaker 2: did leave her in the other room last week, so
- 6:32Speaker 2: I guess this whole week cause a kerfuffle the whole week.
- 6:36Speaker 2: This last week's episode, motherfuckers, there.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Were dog food in there. She was in solitary combine.
- 6:44Speaker 2: This is a little off topic, but does anyone else
- 6:47Speaker 2: when they think of dog food, like canned dog food
- 6:51Speaker 2: immediately do they go to I do the I think
- 6:55Speaker 2: it's Back to the Future, the first one. It's the
- 6:57Speaker 2: first Back to the Future movie where Brown has made
- 7:01Speaker 2: the feed your dog thing and Marty comes in to
- 7:05Speaker 2: play the guitar and there's just like this mechanical dog
- 7:08Speaker 2: food thing and then I don't know if it's the
- 7:11Speaker 2: first movie or not, but in one of the films,
- 7:14Speaker 2: the food has just overflowed and it is.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I think that's the first one.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It's so gross, Like I can't tell you how much
- 7:24Speaker 2: I hate what dog?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Why is Einstein not eating?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, anyway, I just that's it. It's just like, yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 2: like it's yeah, it sounds like a wet shit when
- 7:37Speaker 2: it hits the bowl.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Sometimes I'll give bishop that wet dog food is a
- 7:41Speaker 1: treat and it just smells so.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Bad, so much. Yeah, we went back to fresh Wet
- 7:48Speaker 2: cat food stinks just as bad.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Though.
- 7:51Speaker 2: We had to go back to fresh pet because it
- 7:53Speaker 2: was honestly, like in the mornings, I'd come out here
- 7:56Speaker 2: and I'd smell like whatever she didn't finish in her
- 7:59Speaker 2: bowl the night before, or my living room smelled like
- 8:02Speaker 2: the food she was on, and I was like, we
- 8:03Speaker 2: can't do this anymore, and you're not eating the food
- 8:05Speaker 2: I cook, So now we're back on fresh pet But yeah,
- 8:09Speaker 2: something about and like, by the way, senior citizens like
- 8:13Speaker 2: famously when they're poor end up eating like cat or
- 8:17Speaker 2: dog food because it's so cheap, and it makes me
- 8:19Speaker 2: sad for them. Go buy Vienna sausages. Your sodium will
- 8:24Speaker 2: be a little higher, but it's probably not as gross.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never had a Vienna sausage. They're
- 8:30Speaker 2: probably pretty disgusting, to be honest. They look like a
- 8:33Speaker 2: little cut off fingers.
- 8:36Speaker 1: We'll have to do tasting on the Luni tasting.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Like the little smoke eats.
- 8:41Speaker 2: No, no, no, Likena sausage. They come in a can.
- 8:44Speaker 2: They're like, oh, a third of a hot dog and
- 8:47Speaker 2: a can. Yeah, but like in a ring. They put
- 8:51Speaker 2: them in so delicate, Like I've seen pictures of how
- 8:54Speaker 2: they're in the can but not eating them. But they're
- 8:56Speaker 2: like looks like a little flour because they're around the
- 8:59Speaker 2: edge and then in the middle and so you have this, Like,
- 9:02Speaker 2: I don't know if I ever got this, I feel
- 9:05Speaker 2: like they would be mushy, just base. Yeah. Have you
- 9:09Speaker 2: had a Vienna sausage?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Is it good?
- 9:12Speaker 5: Like?
- 9:13Speaker 2: It's not good? But if you liked it, no, shame enjoy.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 9:20Speaker 2: We should get We should if we're gonna do a
- 9:23Speaker 2: group taste test altogether, we should make it an episode
- 9:27Speaker 2: when Eddie finally like has time to come on, because
- 9:30Speaker 2: we should make him in a Vienna sauce.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Well love that.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I'll happily venmo him the dollar twenty or whatever for
- 9:38Speaker 2: that face he'll make. Yeah, anyway, why hasn't Eddie been
- 9:45Speaker 2: on your show? Guys? Aaron keeps trying to make him
- 9:47Speaker 2: meat weird shit because she's a jerk. It's fine, Hey, guys,
- 9:51Speaker 2: we're here because we like the Golden Girls. What do
- 9:53Speaker 2: you hear?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Guys?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Oh? You like us? That's cool? Thanks? Thanks for answering.
- 9:59Speaker 1: What is this like? Whose clues? You leave applause for
- 10:01Speaker 1: them to answer?
- 10:04Speaker 2: What it's this thing? You see? You see a clue?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Where?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Where does anyone see the name of this episode? Anyone anywhere?
- 10:14Speaker 4: Gina?
- 10:16Speaker 1: You do? Season two, Episode nine is called Joust Between Friends,
- 10:22Speaker 1: The original air date is December sixth, nineteen eighty six,
- 10:26Speaker 1: directed by Terry Hughes, written by This is the new Person,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Scott Spencer Gordon, and we're gonna have some trivia today.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Nice.
- 10:37Speaker 2: As someone who has printed out a list of every
- 10:41Speaker 2: episode of The Golden Girls ever for my like show journal,
- 10:45Speaker 2: I can tell you that if you look at their
- 10:48Speaker 2: writing staff, like you start to see like this, like
- 10:53Speaker 2: sort of is that called like a turnaround, like a
- 10:56Speaker 2: turnover in the writer's room. Yeah, because you'll see like
- 11:00Speaker 2: ten episodes by the same dude and then that person's
- 11:02Speaker 2: gone gone, yeah, just like yeah, So I'm curious. Now
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'm kind of paying a little more attention to the
- 11:11Speaker 2: writers and stuff. So it's I like that you told
- 11:13Speaker 2: us there's a new writer, because now I'll track him
- 11:16Speaker 2: on my list.
- 11:17Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, let's watch Nice. What do you think
- 11:20Speaker 1: this is about? Joust between friends?
- 11:23Speaker 2: I'm not giving you any spoilers, but I want to
- 11:25Speaker 2: just tell you that, even after watching it like one
- 11:30Speaker 2: and a quarter times to write the quiz, I have
- 11:32Speaker 2: to tell you I don't actually know what the fuck
- 11:36Speaker 2: the title means. So don't feel bad if you don't
- 11:40Speaker 2: come up with something because I don't think it has
- 11:42Speaker 2: anything to do with the show.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Well, joust between friends.
- 11:47Speaker 4: So the ladies go to a renfair, they both fall
- 11:49Speaker 4: for the same like sexy night guy, and they have
- 11:52Speaker 4: a joust over who gets to go on a date.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yep, my god, I would love that episode, right, you
- 11:58Speaker 1: would too?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Can you imagine them? And like ren for ship. B
- 12:01Speaker 2: would look b would look so pissed. She would just
- 12:04Speaker 2: be like, oh god, I could have been at this
- 12:08Speaker 2: like substitute teacher, smart people conference and you put me
- 12:11Speaker 2: in this bodice like should be the whole time.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Rose would love a giant turkey leg.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 2: She would be dancing around wig.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Like a barmaid.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, she'd probably wear something Scandinavian themed Viking hat should
- 12:30Speaker 2: be more like a Viking wench versus a Anyway.
- 12:34Speaker 1: So who's our villain, Kristen, Let's do Blanche.
- 12:41Speaker 3: We haven't done Blanche in a while.
- 12:46Speaker 2: It's fun with Blanch because you get you get kids,
- 12:50Speaker 2: get a villain, but you also very often get a
- 12:53Speaker 2: victim because Blanche does like have those like tantrumy moments
- 12:57Speaker 2: where she's like, oh.
- 12:58Speaker 3: My god, that Southern flair.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yeah, good thing. I did more visual cues. This is
- 13:06Speaker 2: terrific audio content we're doing today. All right, Blanche is
- 13:11Speaker 2: the villain. I got her, I wrote it down.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Well, we're gonna go watch the episode, So listen to
- 13:19Speaker 1: these ads and come back with us.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Hey there, I'm Dave, the host of Beer in Front.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Sometimes the beer in front of you is the best
- 13:32Speaker 5: one yet. I'll talk about some old school beers that
- 13:36Speaker 5: maybe you've forgotten about, some new beers that have the
- 13:39Speaker 5: potential to be a classic. I'll also talk to various
- 13:43Speaker 5: people around the beer world and get their stories all
- 13:48Speaker 5: about beer. That's Beer in Front and it's available on
- 13:52Speaker 5: all of your favorite podcast apps.
- 14:00Speaker 4: That was a fun episode.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Come back to the fun episode with a fun episode
- 14:07Speaker 2: with fun friends. Fun friends here, so what you think
- 14:15Speaker 2: and also ready to play a quiz.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I like the cute popades.
- 14:19Speaker 4: And fun fact. I didn't know Aaron and Rose had
- 14:22Speaker 4: the same neurotic tendencies of voicing animals.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It was fantastic.
- 14:27Speaker 2: What's weird is we've already covered this on a prior
- 14:30Speaker 2: episode when Rose made her Teddy Bear doc. But go ahead,
- 14:33Speaker 2: we can shit on on Aaron for creating Abby so that.
- 14:40Speaker 4: I liked it. I thought it was cute.
- 14:43Speaker 1: The dog was so cute. It was the same dog
- 14:45Speaker 1: they have when married with Children. I don't know what
- 14:47Speaker 1: kind of dog.
- 14:48Speaker 2: That is, he's so so cute.
- 14:51Speaker 4: I want to say an English sheep dog, but I
- 14:53Speaker 4: don't think that's right. I think they're more gray and white.
- 14:56Speaker 4: But it's got the big fluffy for fluffy.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You're a dog expert, and you're not just taking a
- 15:03Speaker 2: gas like Kristen right in let us know, No I didn't.
- 15:07Speaker 2: That wasn't a slam like I have no idea.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Well, because I know the English sheep dog is like
- 15:13Speaker 4: Max from a Little Mermaid.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Right, yeah, but it's a little dark color.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yeah, oh here, Okay, I got it. Because he's the
- 15:20Speaker 1: same dog as Buck on Marriage with Children.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Buck was a briared, a French breed of large shepherd dogs.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Okay, shepherd.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I wonder if I wonder if shepherd dogs are supposed
- 15:35Speaker 2: to have like fluffy hair, because.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I mean these ones, yeah they do.
- 15:41Speaker 2: And then obviously the one from Little Mermaid.
- 15:46Speaker 1: He is affectionate family dogs, quick learning, hardworking nature, and athleticism.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Abby says, it says here, this dog has a lot
- 15:58Speaker 2: of cool things that it can do.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It can you do our core the official dog of
- 16:04Speaker 1: the French army. So they lost a lot of them
- 16:06Speaker 1: in World War One. They carried supplies to the front lines. Fuck,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That got a little dark.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Absolutely the saddest is ever heard, because not only are
- 16:16Speaker 2: their dead bodies of like people, which can be garbage,
- 16:20Speaker 2: but then you're telling me there's like little dead popular
- 16:23Speaker 2: hero dogs.
- 16:24Speaker 1: They makes me sad.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Or welcome to dark depressing facts.
- 16:29Speaker 1: With Gina, they're just saying that's why they're so rare,
- 16:31Speaker 1: because there's not a lot left, all right, And yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you got to brush their coats every day because of
- 16:37Speaker 1: mats entangled.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, let's move towards the so not a dog for Aaron. Okay,
- 16:43Speaker 2: now let's move away from the depressing World War One
- 16:47Speaker 2: death of dogs and go to the quiz where Kristen
- 16:52Speaker 2: will probably spank Gina.
- 16:55Speaker 1: How dare you we tied last week? Oh?
- 16:57Speaker 2: That is true? You did? I forgot? Oh, yes, let's
- 17:03Speaker 2: I apologize. It could be that I dropped the can
- 17:05Speaker 2: of bluey baked beans on my foot just the other
- 17:08Speaker 2: day and thought I had broke my toe and walked
- 17:10Speaker 2: out my house going it's fine, it's fine. It doesn't hurt.
- 17:12Speaker 2: This doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt. You don't hurt.
- 17:14Speaker 1: This is not like it's fine, yeah, my.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Foot blood, it's uh. It like ripped the skin open
- 17:21Speaker 2: can of baked beans, as it turns out, is extremely
- 17:25Speaker 2: heavy and you should not drop it on your big tail. Sold.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Thank you for the advice, the PSA.
- 17:33Speaker 2: All right, well, now that I've warned you, guys, nay,
- 17:36Speaker 2: now that I've cautioned you to the dangers of canned beans,
- 17:41Speaker 2: let's head into the dangers of this quiz. First question
- 17:47Speaker 2: with a bang two parter, Are you ready I pack this?
- 17:51Speaker 2: Who used to talk to woodpeckers? And what happened to her?
- 17:59Speaker 4: That's half of it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I don't remember that at all.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I will take whoever has the most of it for
- 18:05Speaker 2: the point.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Thousands vaults to day stopped that.
- 18:09Speaker 2: It was Naomi Birch was the woman's name. But you
- 18:14Speaker 2: get the point because you got the most of it. Congrats, right,
- 18:19Speaker 2: all right, heading on to good work the second. By
- 18:27Speaker 2: the way, no shade at Betty White, because she's a
- 18:29Speaker 2: goddamn national treasure. However, I think my ambye voice is
- 18:34Speaker 2: better than that. I'm just saying anyway.
- 18:36Speaker 4: You hate dog has their own voice, right, and a
- 18:39Speaker 4: bigger dog's gonna have a.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Icy So it's like that, I just hate that dog's voice.
- 18:44Speaker 2: That it's not Betty White's fault, right, right, got it?
- 18:48Speaker 2: Got it? Okay? So question two, one of your guys's
- 18:52Speaker 2: favorite kinds for the finish the line. This one is
- 18:59Speaker 2: an others Sophia. I think I've done the last to
- 19:03Speaker 2: finish the lines, like two episodes prior to this. I
- 19:06Speaker 2: think we're also Sophia's. But anyway, I don't know how
- 19:10Speaker 2: she gets away with it. At my age, i'd be
- 19:12Speaker 2: locked up at shady Pines.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Oh, it's like Gina.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yes, it's like Gina.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I don't have like the exact wording. I don't think
- 19:27Speaker 1: making birdhouses out of popsicle sticks.
- 19:31Speaker 2: No, it's close, but it's not exact, you know, the
- 19:35Speaker 2: exact quote?
- 19:37Speaker 1: All right.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I'll give Gina the point because it was pretty close.
- 19:39Speaker 2: But she says making boats out of popsicle sticks?
- 19:43Speaker 3: Boats?
- 19:45Speaker 2: All right? Point for you each, what is the name
- 19:50Speaker 2: of Blanche's boss at the museum? Sorry, I have a typo.
- 19:54Speaker 2: It says Blanche's box. But the real question is Blanche's
- 19:57Speaker 2: boss Gina? Yeah, mister Allen correct. Who's calling you? Yeah? Answer?
- 20:06Speaker 2: It had a four fifteen alarm randomly on my phone.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Wake up, it's time to record a couple.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Hours getting ready for Force plenty?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, maybe who got that question? Ready? I don't
- 20:19Speaker 2: even know what Thank you? Sorry I got. I was
- 20:23Speaker 2: very distracting to suddenly have noise happening. I might. I
- 20:29Speaker 2: do not disturb, so I shouldn't have anything coming through.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Well, alarm will still go off.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that's that's why. That's what that was. It's fine, Okay,
- 20:40Speaker 2: here we go, continuing, here we go. What little thing
- 20:45Speaker 2: does Sophia do on Mondays and Thursdays only?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Christina Christmas?
- 20:52Speaker 4: First, she said, setting out her underwear, bringing out her underwear.
- 20:59Speaker 2: That's not correct. It's it's like multiple things, and it's
- 21:06Speaker 2: also not exactly what you're saying. I don't want to be.
- 21:12Speaker 2: If Gina's is more complete, she'll get the point.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Let's see she rinses out her underwear, drinking sherry.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what it was, she says. Drinking cherry and
- 21:26Speaker 2: rinsing out her underwear is what I wrote.
- 21:30Speaker 1: She stretched out.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Did you say ringing out her underwe what did you say?
- 21:37Speaker 4: It's the same.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean it's not actually the same.
- 21:42Speaker 1: That's how nitpicky you want to be?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Well, No, I needed the sherry because here's why. Next question,
- 21:50Speaker 2: who else really likes sherry and doesn't know when to stop?
- 21:54Speaker 4: Gina?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yes, a dog? Yes, and I will give one bonus
- 21:59Speaker 2: point to anyone that can tell me who else likes sherry.
- 22:04Speaker 2: This is like a bonus Gina. Okay, Uncle veto No,
- 22:10Speaker 2: do you have the name aunt Kristen?
- 22:12Speaker 1: No, uncle somebody?
- 22:16Speaker 2: It's Uncle Aldo Aldo. Okay, I lost track of the
- 22:20Speaker 2: points again due to the has.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Four and I have one.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Wow. Oh my god, there was some tone to that.
- 22:32Speaker 1: No, she's high, so this might be my advantage.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Oh that's true.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I have faster responses.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Well enough enough about Uncle Aldo. Let's shift back to
- 22:45Speaker 2: the dog's drinking problem. What does Dorothy say to the
- 22:50Speaker 2: dog when it hops onto her chair and stares at
- 22:53Speaker 2: the bottle of sherry?
- 22:55Speaker 1: Gina, Yes, just promise me you won't drive. Yes, I
- 23:03Speaker 1: am winning. Okay, that's my winning dance.
- 23:09Speaker 2: When Sophia is leaving the museum, what does mister Allen
- 23:14Speaker 2: say he'd love for her to see and what is
- 23:17Speaker 2: her reply?
- 23:18Speaker 4: Kristen, Yes, because Gougans. Galganans his pair of Gougans, And
- 23:29Speaker 4: she said that in all the years she was married,
- 23:31Speaker 4: she never saw her husband's gougans.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Gogan go again, he said, yeah, She says, what are
- 23:38Speaker 2: you a pervert? I was married for forty five years
- 23:41Speaker 2: and I never even saw my husband's Gogans, which is
- 23:44Speaker 2: like what. So here's the bonus, and don't worry. This
- 23:49Speaker 2: will not count to the stump total because I know
- 23:54Speaker 2: there's a chance this will just be a lesson instead.
- 23:57Speaker 2: But okay for some bonus points. Who was Gogan and
- 24:02Speaker 2: who was his favorite roommate?
- 24:07Speaker 1: A painter?
- 24:11Speaker 2: Yes, yes, all right, so then I'm just gonna I'm
- 24:14Speaker 2: gonna just this will be my trivia behind the behind
- 24:17Speaker 2: the joke, I guess. So. Paul Gogan is a famous
- 24:22Speaker 2: painter who is slightly older than and was for a
- 24:25Speaker 2: time roommates with Vincent van Go. They had a falling out.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Van Go literally kept spending their shared household income on
- 24:35Speaker 2: absinthe and prostitutes and it was starting to piss off Gogan. Gogan,
- 24:39Speaker 2: who was famous, first did some portraits of him. This
- 24:43Speaker 2: was during van Gos sunflower period. So there's a picture
- 24:46Speaker 2: of famous Gogan painting of van Go painting the sunflower
- 24:52Speaker 2: paintings very early days meta. But Gogan is the only
- 24:57Speaker 2: person ever that was able to I like a first
- 25:01Speaker 2: hand account of the whole cutting off the ear situation
- 25:05Speaker 2: because he was around for it and experienced it, and
- 25:10Speaker 2: it was quite traumatizing. Everyone talks about it being about
- 25:12Speaker 2: this lady, but it was really like a lot of
- 25:15Speaker 2: blood and like it looked like someone had been like
- 25:18Speaker 2: murdered in their apartment because there was blood in like
- 25:21Speaker 2: two rooms and van Go was like passed out and
- 25:25Speaker 2: the police were like, did you kill your roommate or
- 25:28Speaker 2: your friend? And like it was like a whole thing anyway,
- 25:31Speaker 2: So that throwaway little joke about balls is actually about
- 25:36Speaker 2: a super interesting painter anyway, and.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Kept asking him to clean up around the apartment and
- 25:42Speaker 1: he went, huh no.
- 25:46Speaker 2: A spoiler alert. He moved out after the ear thing,
- 25:48Speaker 2: and then a year later Van Go shot himself in
- 25:52Speaker 2: the stomach, I think, which is like the weirdest way
- 25:55Speaker 2: to kill yourself.
- 25:55Speaker 1: You want to bleed out apparently, Yeah, yeah, yeah, right,
- 26:00Speaker 1: tortured artist.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah, now that we've now that we've played art history
- 26:04Speaker 2: with Aaron, and maybe I had a little bit with them.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I wanted to get a little bit of value out
- 26:10Speaker 2: of my sixty thousand dollars uh design school education there
- 26:15Speaker 2: as well. Yeah, all right, so question nine, back in
- 26:19Speaker 2: it for the for the wins. Here, guys, what was
- 26:22Speaker 2: the name of Dorothy Schnauzer. This is an interesting conundrum.
- 26:30Speaker 2: I feel like you said it at the same time,
- 26:33Speaker 2: and I can't ask either of you because you're playing
- 26:35Speaker 2: against each other. I don't know. I know Gina was
- 26:40Speaker 2: done talking first, but her name is shorter, so I
- 26:43Speaker 2: quite literally don't know which one of you to call.
- 26:45Speaker 4: I can give it to Gina, can do it.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna go Dina. Wah wah, Yes, yes it
- 26:54Speaker 2: was wah wah. This is high pressure, ladies and gentlemen.
- 26:58Speaker 2: When I don't have a guest as a buffer, this
- 27:00Speaker 2: is high pressure. Just kidding, we're all friends. I'm just
- 27:05Speaker 2: I'm in a mood today. I'm in a silly measure.
- 27:14Speaker 2: All right, Number ten. I think everyone's gonna want to
- 27:19Speaker 2: ring in for this, so I'm watching you very closely.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Please let me finish the question so that, like I
- 27:25Speaker 2: have time to see who opens their mouth first. I
- 27:27Speaker 2: guess finish the line dog edition, don't explain Rose Gina.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yes, I used to live with a couple of bitches myself.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Yes, that was a great line.
- 27:44Speaker 2: That was a good line. I saw you both react
- 27:47Speaker 2: to it, and I was like, oh, this is gonna
- 27:48Speaker 2: be a dead heat on this question. But Kristen was
- 27:50Speaker 2: taking a nap, so luckily Gina was the only one
- 27:53Speaker 2: when they had to pluz in, I love you, don't
- 27:56Speaker 2: be mad at me, look at your face? Stupid? All right? Thanks?
- 28:04Speaker 2: What iconic line does Blanche say in reply to Dorothy's
- 28:09Speaker 2: Hi Blanche.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Gina, Yes, eat dirt and die trash.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:16Speaker 2: The last question, what is Dorothy's big secret Kristin?
- 28:22Speaker 4: Yes, the banquets for Blanche.
- 28:26Speaker 1: No, I think she met her other secret Gina, Yeah,
- 28:29Speaker 1: that she loves dogs. Yes, Oh I could see why
- 28:33Speaker 1: you would think that.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Was the secret that she was keeping from.
- 28:37Speaker 2: I mean we can definitely it's fine.
- 28:39Speaker 4: You know what. Anyway, I doesn't matter.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You smoked her, and I think it's because something happened
- 28:49Speaker 2: to Kristen. Are you being She so like, oh yeah, okay,
- 28:53Speaker 2: that's it.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Took what thirty four episodes to do it?
- 28:57Speaker 2: I won, but I think you got nine points.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I don't have to try.
- 29:04Speaker 4: And what prizes do we have for our contested today?
- 29:08Speaker 1: Ship?
- 29:10Speaker 2: I could give you.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Shut up, Kristen. Let me enjoy this for a second.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Hey, I don't get ship when I went either, so.
- 29:22Speaker 2: That's not true. You guys get the gift of my
- 29:24Speaker 2: friendship just winning giving. How very dare Oh my god, unbelievable.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I'm proud of usself.
- 29:41Speaker 2: It's funny because the dog is like technically a subplot,
- 29:45Speaker 2: but it's the best part of that.
- 29:48Speaker 4: And he just jumps into her arms and she cared.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Around, sweetheart. Yeah, all right, tell us things, Gina, and
- 29:55Speaker 2: then I'll tell you why the villain was trash.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Well, well, the name of the dog actor was Inky.
- 30:05Speaker 1: He was provided by the American Mongrel Association's adorable.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I don't know if they're called that anymore.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, probably not. Reed Shelton was mister Allen. He was
- 30:17Speaker 1: on this TV series. I don't know what maybe you do.
- 30:20Speaker 1: It's called First and ten. IM guessing it's a sports show.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know.
- 30:26Speaker 1: They were playing gin Rummy in this episode. If you
- 30:29Speaker 1: were watching Dorothy and Sophia play cards. Yes, and there
- 30:34Speaker 1: was a very special guest in the audience. That day.
- 30:37Speaker 1: This was taped August twenty ninth, nineteen eighty six, and
- 30:40Speaker 1: Lucille Ball attended.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Nice. Oh wow, that's cool.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I couldn't pick out her laughter over anyone else's, but
- 30:49Speaker 1: it's just cool to know. Yeah, we know that she's
- 30:51Speaker 1: buddies with b Arthur. We know they were in name together.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Right, which means she probably did not like Benny. Way.
- 31:02Speaker 1: That is what I have for you. Tell us about Blanche.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Oh look, I think we're all pretty sure that Kristin
- 31:11Speaker 2: inadvertently and very graciously did the work for me on
- 31:14Speaker 2: this one.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she was like, God, damn it, I set
- 31:17Speaker 1: her up for this.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yeah. But here's the thing. I actually wanted to prove
- 31:24Speaker 2: my prowess of a spinning things, so I brote down
- 31:28Speaker 2: a couple of key points that were really really awful
- 31:31Speaker 2: moments with Blanche. When she says when Rose comes home
- 31:36Speaker 2: with the dog, and she says, oh, you don't mind,
- 31:38Speaker 2: do you, and she goes, man, of course, I mund
- 31:42Speaker 2: that's bitchy. Don't make it sound like you're not upset.
- 31:45Speaker 2: There's a cute puppy in your house, so fuck you.
- 31:48Speaker 2: You didn't want the dog there initially?
- 31:50Speaker 1: No.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Then she forces Dorothy to work with Dorothy flat out
- 31:55Speaker 2: is like, no, I don't think we should work together,
- 31:58Speaker 2: and she strong arms Dorothy into working with her just
- 32:01Speaker 2: so she can basically bully her for the rest of
- 32:04Speaker 2: the episode for planning the banquet. That's kind of the
- 32:08Speaker 2: obvious thing. But then here's the thing. Who offers someone
- 32:13Speaker 2: a personal check for seventy five dollars personal? Now, I
- 32:19Speaker 2: know seventy five dollars was a lot more in nineteen
- 32:22Speaker 2: eighty six, but it wasn't so much more that I
- 32:25Speaker 2: wouldn't be offended. Like b Arthur was actually crying in
- 32:29Speaker 2: that scene. And I believe that she is one of
- 32:35Speaker 2: those actors that could do that on like she was
- 32:39Speaker 2: able to buy emotions because she was stage strange, so
- 32:43Speaker 2: she was a little serious. That was part of her
- 32:46Speaker 2: fight with Betty over the years was that Betty was
- 32:50Speaker 2: funny and improvisational. Anyway, I'm sorry short too late. Blanche
- 32:57Speaker 2: offered her seventy five dollars. Fuck is that that's so weird?
- 33:02Speaker 4: Not only that it's a check and you like to
- 33:04Speaker 4: take it all the way to the bank.
- 33:05Speaker 3: To cash it because they didn't have mobile deposit back.
- 33:08Speaker 2: And then yeah, and then she says, I'm not gonna
- 33:10Speaker 2: cash it. I'm gonna keep it for the next time
- 33:12Speaker 2: that you're a big fat jerk, because yes, sorry. In
- 33:15Speaker 2: the memo line of the apology check, Blanche wanted to write,
- 33:19Speaker 2: I was a big fat jerk. What in the.
- 33:25Speaker 1: She's wanted to frame it?
- 33:27Speaker 2: Terrible apology. Blanche is beyond the villain in this episode,
- 33:32Speaker 2: and the dog is the winner.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I want to point out for clarification, Dorothy had to
- 33:38Speaker 1: get the job because she was on a ten week
- 33:41Speaker 1: I guess you'd call the furlough. Everyone rotates because they
- 33:45Speaker 1: can't keep the teachers employed year round.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I guess, oh, yeah, so I have a story about that. Yeah,
- 33:50Speaker 4: have you brought that? Well, no, you're round.
- 33:52Speaker 1: So she's talking about year round school like Montessori.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I guess, well, when I so, third grade through eighth grade,
- 34:00Speaker 4: I did year round. So I was on green track
- 34:04Speaker 4: and I got January, May, and September off. Those were
- 34:08Speaker 4: the whole month summer, and I didn't get a summer
- 34:14Speaker 4: month off my track. There's red, blue, green, and yellow,
- 34:20Speaker 4: and each it all.
- 34:23Speaker 1: January, May and September.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Those are the months I had off. Yeah, it's not
- 34:28Speaker 4: so bad, you get right, after Christmas, which was nice
- 34:31Speaker 4: because then we ended u getting like six weeks off
- 34:33Speaker 4: because the holiday. But it was awful if you had
- 34:37Speaker 4: friends that got put on a different track leh had
- 34:41Speaker 4: the same time off for vacations, holidays, et cetera.
- 34:45Speaker 1: It kind of did you like that or did you
- 34:47Speaker 1: hate it?
- 34:48Speaker 4: I didn't really like it. I was really glad when
- 34:51Speaker 4: I got to high school I didn't have to do it.
- 34:52Speaker 4: It was I don't even think they do it anymore.
- 34:54Speaker 4: It was like an experimental thing that they were trying
- 34:56Speaker 4: at the time. It was the early nineties.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Middle Calibornia Public school or what was it a private.
- 35:01Speaker 4: School CALHOUNI or public school.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Oh, I can't. I didn't go to the schools here,
- 35:05Speaker 1: so I didn't know.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I had year round schooling as well. In San
- 35:08Speaker 2: Diego it did, and well grade it was our school
- 35:14Speaker 2: was elementary, but then the new school was still year
- 35:18Speaker 2: round and it was K eight okay, but we had
- 35:23Speaker 2: my I was so lucky. My track had December off
- 35:27Speaker 2: and then we got two months in summer. It was
- 35:30Speaker 2: like everyone had like a random month and then some
- 35:33Speaker 2: summer okay, so that the teachers had time to not
- 35:37Speaker 2: have children around them and that's when they did like
- 35:40Speaker 2: the ten week break where other teachers like they didn't
- 35:44Speaker 2: force them to take the anyway. It was super great.
- 35:48Speaker 2: I loved having Christmas off for like a month. It
- 35:51Speaker 2: was way cooler. But I didn't like that I went
- 35:55Speaker 2: to school longer in June.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Basically, I was yeah, yeah, I don't even know if
- 36:02Speaker 4: they'd do it anymore. I don't know if that was
- 36:04Speaker 4: like a failed experiment.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I don't know. I was also on one of the
- 36:08Speaker 2: like early days drug pro like when Dare started schools
- 36:14Speaker 2: and stuff. Yeah, yeah, it was still like in my youth,
- 36:18Speaker 2: my ute. It was still like little plastic bags of
- 36:23Speaker 2: drugs that like they had stapled to poster board with
- 36:27Speaker 2: like printed out like science like. There was nothing high
- 36:30Speaker 2: tech about there. It was like a couple of local
- 36:33Speaker 2: officers and like shit, they had confiscated off someone probably
- 36:37Speaker 2: and was in like evidence lock up, and we're they're like,
- 36:40Speaker 2: we gotta we gotta show kids what drugs look like
- 36:43Speaker 2: so they don't buy them, which Dare was great. I'm
- 36:46Speaker 2: not shitting on it. It worked. It scared me straight man.
- 36:49Speaker 2: I didn't touch any kind of like booze anything, nothing
- 36:54Speaker 2: until I was old enough because I'm lame. But actually
- 36:58Speaker 2: one time I drank when I was like twenty and
- 37:00Speaker 2: I called my friends and I said, I had a
- 37:03Speaker 2: wine cooler at a party. I'm and I spend the
- 37:05Speaker 2: night because that was super cool. Anyway, long story short,
- 37:11Speaker 2: too late. Early days, DARE really was also if you
- 37:15Speaker 2: were a bad kid, like here's what to look for
- 37:17Speaker 2: when you want to buy drugs, because it was just
- 37:20Speaker 2: these like yeah, this is what math looks like. Enjoy it.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Like it was. Looking back, it's a weird thing, but
- 37:31Speaker 2: it seemed effective at the time.
- 37:33Speaker 1: So yeah, DARE. Oh man, I remember there. I think
- 37:38Speaker 1: shirts Yeah, yeah, yeah, they still do DARE.
- 37:43Speaker 4: I don't know, I don't know.
- 37:44Speaker 2: It's drug and alcohol Resistance.
- 37:46Speaker 4: Education, yeah, DARE to say no, I think DARE ran
- 37:51Speaker 4: our every fifteen minutes program at high school, which was
- 37:55Speaker 4: the one that they do like the senior year of
- 37:57Speaker 4: high school where they put a car with the crashed
- 38:01Speaker 4: in the middle and then they pull people. They have
- 38:02Speaker 4: a grim reaper that goes around and pulls kids out
- 38:05Speaker 4: of class and then they write letters to their family.
- 38:07Speaker 4: It's like if they had died because of alcohol. It
- 38:10Speaker 4: was a whole thing.
- 38:12Speaker 2: We didn't have. We didn't have quite as much of that.
- 38:16Speaker 2: And also at our school, the students against drunk driving
- 38:20Speaker 2: organized the car crash that came to school and so
- 38:25Speaker 2: I was a part of that, but we didn't do
- 38:28Speaker 2: the morbid shit of people out of class. But we
- 38:31Speaker 2: are students again drunk driving did the every fifteen minutes demo.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Oh okay.
