- 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,000 It's still real to be damaged! 2 00:00:02,000 --> 00:00:24,000 Welcome everybody! Welcome to this week's a Dispistor Reload show, episode number 841 for March 26, 2046. 3 00:00:24,000 --> 00:00:36,000 Welcome to this week's edition of SRTU. I am one at the show I am Jeff Packman joined every single week for my coach, Longly Dr. Dre Franklin. 4 00:00:36,000 --> 00:00:44,000 Dr. Dre, you and I were reminiscing very, very deeply about our time on EA Gameshow prior to the show, my friend. 5 00:00:44,000 --> 00:00:54,000 Did we just have the conversation two weeks ago that our memory sucks, but yeah, we can still remember EA Gameshow so vividly and so clearly at times. 6 00:00:54,000 --> 00:01:02,000 It's something that was, uh, yeah, it was really big part of my life at that period of time, and I was much younger, right? 7 00:01:02,000 --> 00:01:10,000 It was almost 20 years ago now. Yeah. So EA Gameshow real quick, if you're new to the podcast, sorry Dr. Dre Franklin, you off there, if you're new to the podcast, 8 00:01:10,000 --> 00:01:26,000 this is EA Gameshow was a platform that that's where Dr. Dre and I met, and it actually led into the development of my radio career, podcasting career, development of this podcast here, like none that would happen if I never logged on to that game show. 9 00:01:26,000 --> 00:01:36,000 Um, and that platform that day, online platform, and do a Google search for all those that are listening, do a Google search for EA Gameshow, put it in YouTube, you'll see some stuff that's up there. 10 00:01:36,000 --> 00:01:47,000 And, uh, basically it was a live online platform, it would start at like five o'clock in the afternoon, East Coast, and they would go late sometimes like 11 o'clock at night hosted by live radio personalities. 11 00:01:47,000 --> 00:01:56,000 One of my mentors, mentor Dr. Dre, a longtime friend of mine, Mike Bauer, the power show, I was on the show in Hartford, Connecticut for a little bit of time. 12 00:01:56,000 --> 00:02:08,000 That's where he was and Dr. Dre and I were just reminiscing post post or pre show here, and I was like, I don't know why something like that can't exist today and I stand by that. 13 00:02:08,000 --> 00:02:17,000 And even though it was EA Sports, which makes Madden, one of the most popular sports franchises of all time, it was poorly promoted. 14 00:02:17,000 --> 00:02:30,000 And they would have like, let's say 15 to 20 people on at a given time, and it drove management nuts that the times where they had a lot of people online was for the wrestling trivia stuff. 15 00:02:30,000 --> 00:02:38,000 Uh, wrestling like they they had champions like Dr. Trey and I were the last quote tag team champions. 16 00:02:38,000 --> 00:02:53,000 It wasn't, you would just press a key, you know, to answer the question, you didn't, it wasn't like the Zoom error or Google meets where you could be talking to a microphone, they could see your face like they do in podcasts nowadays, you were behind an avatar. 17 00:02:53,000 --> 00:03:22,000 And I am the last champion, world champion of that brand, but hundreds of people would tune into that Dr. Trey to see guys like you and I test our wrestling knowledge and even from a sports fan standpoint, but just a wrestling fan standpoint, I've never understood why a WWE AW or a third party platform has it ran with that because I do think given the right promotion, people involved, it can be very, very successful. 18 00:03:22,000 --> 00:03:25,000 For whoever leads something like that. 19 00:03:25,000 --> 00:03:39,000 Well, I mean, if you just look at the demographics, I mean, people watch wrestling and you just go, hey, if 10% of, so what, let's say it's a two, it's a between dynamite raw NXT, what, like 4 million viewers. 20 00:03:39,000 --> 00:03:42,000 Yeah, probably, add some TNA in there. 21 00:03:42,000 --> 00:03:56,000 Probably, 40. 10% of that, that's 400,000 people, but regulating to your platform and that's just for people who are currently watching the product, that's not the old school folks that you could probably draw it also. 22 00:03:56,000 --> 00:04:11,000 For some listeners, I would say like if you go to Buffalo Wild Wings and you see their trivia stuff on the screen and you can log onto your phone and hit correct answers and you see a leaderboard, that's kind of what EA was just with basically a lot of people. 23 00:04:11,000 --> 00:04:21,000 And then, you see a live karaoke host, a live guy kind of moderating everything. 24 00:04:21,000 --> 00:04:36,000 But yeah, like the fact that nobody has brought this onto a broader platform yet, and the fact that you and I, 20 years later, don't have one person that could create an app or a website for us to run it. 25 00:04:36,000 --> 00:04:57,000 I'm not very sad, but yes, you were the last heavyweight champion, we were the tag team champions, but EA Gameshow, which you mentioned, led kind of directly to the podcast, which led to this podcast, which led to me getting on it, which is also how I got into the world of actual professional wrestling because I had the podcast. 26 00:04:57,000 --> 00:05:05,000 So it's weird to see how all that stuff linked together over all these years to kind of put us in the positions we are now. 27 00:05:05,000 --> 00:05:16,000 Yeah, this is a little impromptu. We'll get to the news and notes from professional wrestling this week, but something I just want to add real fast here is we're having this discussion like failed things that I thought that we're going to be successful in wrestling. 28 00:05:16,000 --> 00:05:26,000 And I'm not talking about like storylines, matches, whatever. I mean, we'll talk about the invasion storyline here in a little bit granted because it is the major anniversary of that, which may be field old. 29 00:05:26,000 --> 00:05:37,000 But there were two things that stand out to me, Dr. Trit, that I was like, I'm surprised, WWE never stuck with this to see if it would work out well, which tells me, I guess, in their minds, minds I didn't. 30 00:05:37,000 --> 00:05:47,000 Do you remember the days mid 2000s, WWE had like a fantasy league where you would draft wrestlers or have a wrestlers on a team almost like on a weekly basis and you get points for it? 31 00:05:47,000 --> 00:05:57,000 Fagally, yes, that was like way, that was what was actually at that time. And by the way, I apologize I missed our live draft either night. 32 00:05:57,000 --> 00:06:07,000 But I was like, how is this going to work because it's all predetermined? How does a fantasy league work? 33 00:06:07,000 --> 00:06:24,000 Like if you have the number one pick and you pick John Cena, guess what? You basically guarantee yourself the number one spot unless he gets hurt. So yeah, like that one, but in a weird way, like all these betting apps they're tied into now is kind of an offshoot of that in reality. 34 00:06:24,000 --> 00:06:39,000 And then the second thing that I thought was going to be really successful and they did it for a while then they stopped was in the mid to late 2000s, they had WWE unlimited and then I think it was called like raw active. 35 00:06:39,000 --> 00:06:55,000 And you would be watching Raw Live and during the commercial breaks you'd run over to WWE.com or have it on your computer and you'd either watch the match continue or they would air exclusive interviews and segments during the show and they basically do that nowadays with Netflix. 36 00:06:55,000 --> 00:07:08,000 But I remember that happening basically if Raw would never take a break at that point. Do you remember WWE unlimited, Dr. Trey? I thought that was a really unique way of continuing to broadcast the show. 37 00:07:08,000 --> 00:07:23,000 Yeah, that I don't remember because also I did not I never had I mean at that point I was still I mean even 2010 I was still basically on dialogue. So I never got into I do know like a couple of the 38 00:07:23,000 --> 00:07:37,000 illegal streaming sites. If you watch the show on that because like I don't always have access to my live Netflix I got to watch it on replay or something like that. 39 00:07:37,000 --> 00:07:46,000 But some of the streaming sites when it was on USA would stream all the way through the commercials. And so you can see the like the people in the rain during the commercial breaks. 40 00:07:46,000 --> 00:07:56,000 And I remember the COVID era that was when you would see the girls like you know do a smack down match just literally stop wrestling in the ring. 41 00:07:56,000 --> 00:08:04,000 You know and wait for them to come back from commercial and just pick up the action from there because they didn't have fans watching live. 42 00:08:04,000 --> 00:08:15,000 So they can just take like a three minute break and go okay, I got a collar nail bow. We're coming back from commercial. All right side headlock take over Armourier type thing. 43 00:08:15,000 --> 00:08:25,000 Yeah, I remember that and I remember then they talked about during the COVID era that they would just continue to wrestle during the commercial break even though nobody was there. 44 00:08:25,000 --> 00:08:32,000 So that didn't happen again. I thought you were going to go with a live wire not being as big as it was. 45 00:08:32,000 --> 00:08:50,000 Well, Dr. Try hold on one second, you know you want to go down a rabbit hole here you are talking to somebody who in early 2000s religiously every Friday at like 3 PM East would put WWE bite this on his computer and listen to it and watch it. 46 00:08:50,000 --> 00:08:56,000 Now did bite this was just all just like instant messaging into the show. 47 00:08:56,000 --> 00:09:07,000 You could chat and email I think that's what it was but it would be Kevin Kelly Tom Pritchard or some of the big host I remember Todd Phillips ended up taking it over for a little bit. 48 00:09:07,000 --> 00:09:16,000 And then towards the end it was definitely it was like pre-recorded stuff. It was something that they did in the studio live wire. I remember they actually took phone calls live. 49 00:09:16,000 --> 00:09:24,000 I remember live wire. Yeah, that's when they did the whole that was I think Matt Hardy called into the show was kicked off the edge and lead a storyline. 50 00:09:24,000 --> 00:09:31,000 That's by this. That's by this. My wire was Paul Heyman calling in and ripping WWE. 51 00:09:31,000 --> 00:09:39,000 So and then the other one I thought you're going to say was either there was two I thought you're going to bring up WWE's partnership with vines. 52 00:09:39,000 --> 00:09:46,000 Yeah, remember that. And then I thought you might say Lar's Sullivan because I know how much you love your Lar's Sullivan. 53 00:09:46,000 --> 00:10:00,000 Well, hold on. I mean, this is a perfect segue into this. I mean, we could have kept going here. I could have mentioned that I was a fan of WWE. I believe it was called access with Jonathan coachman interest stress that aired live on Saturday nights at 10 o'clock and then they would do WWE confidential. 54 00:10:00,000 --> 00:10:08,000 But this actually is perfect segue, Dr. Train to the first topic here. Kind of like a quasi, WrestleMania 42 roundup. 55 00:10:08,000 --> 00:10:23,000 We have the next installment of the Oba Femme Brock Lesnar feud and storyline heading in WrestleMania 42. Paul Heyman cut a great promo. Obviously like he always does. He he mentioned, you know, his Oba Femme the next Braun Strowman Dean Ambrose. 56 00:10:23,000 --> 00:10:36,000 What have you and I'm kind of evolving that a little bit more because this is a big deal. This match on WrestleMania 42. I mean, Heyman referred to it as a main event and we'll start debating who should be main events here soon. 57 00:10:36,000 --> 00:10:52,000 But Oba Femme is getting a big shot and it two years from now, three years from now, maybe even a year from now, we look back at this ago. That was the catapult to Oba Femme's career or it may be one that led to nowhere and a bunch of what ifs which we've seen a lot. 58 00:10:52,000 --> 00:11:04,000 So is Oba Femme more like the next big thing like Brock Lesnar or is he the next big miss like Lars Sullivan like Nathan Jones like Ezekiel Jackson. 59 00:11:04,000 --> 00:11:11,000 I don't want to throw Braun Strowman in their Dr. Train, but I do think that there's some people that would say Braun Strowman was supposed to be bigger than he was. 60 00:11:11,000 --> 00:11:19,000 You no longer works from WWE was fire twice. What do you think here ultimately? What does this play out? Is it the next big thing or miss for Oba Femme? 61 00:11:19,000 --> 00:11:31,000 So and you can go into our archives and listen, I think it was about a year, year and a half ago. I said Oba Femme was the closest thing to Brock Lesnar I've seen since Brock Lesnar. 62 00:11:31,000 --> 00:11:40,000 Like to me, he has all the things you look for and start. He's well spoken. He's got a great look. He's got a presence. He's got a charisma. 63 00:11:40,000 --> 00:11:50,000 He's athletically freakishly gifted. Now he's not on Brock's level as far as a freak athlete when Brock was that age like Brock. 64 00:11:50,000 --> 00:11:56,000 I think people see Brock now they're like man, he's super strong. No, Brock was a freak athlete. 65 00:11:56,000 --> 00:12:04,000 You know back in the early 2000s. I mean, even the shooting star press he missed is the fact that this guy that size doing a shooting star press is impressive. 66 00:12:04,000 --> 00:12:14,000 To me, Oba Femme is the next evolution of the Brock Lesnar, not character, but that type of athlete presence. 67 00:12:14,000 --> 00:12:24,000 I mean, you could literally throw him into any athletic endeavor that you know, combine speed and athleticism and strength and he would dominate like. 68 00:12:24,000 --> 00:12:36,000 Like, you know, SEC shot put champion, you could have put him on the offensive line in Alabama. He would have been in a prior first or second round draft pick. You could put him in the UFC with the right training. 69 00:12:36,000 --> 00:12:48,000 He probably ended up being like, you know, a top contender. He's not Brock as far as actual fighting skills, but from a wrestler standpoint, he is the most complete prospect. 70 00:12:48,000 --> 00:13:07,000 I've seen in the last 25 years. Yeah, there is a lot of similarities there to the bill, the Brock Lesnar in 2002 when he came aboard granted at that period of time we did not have the developmental system on television nationally like we do now when he was wrestling in an OVW. 71 00:13:07,000 --> 00:13:22,000 Certainly, we read about Brock Lesnar, but the the the ascension of Brock Lesnar from post-Resomania 18 to summer slam 2002, which was like four or five months is insane. 72 00:13:22,000 --> 00:13:36,000 April 2002, debuts, lays out Spike Dudley, Al Snow, a whole bunch of people the night after WrestleMania 18 and then at summer slam 2002, he is the challenger and defeats the rock for the WWE unspeaked championship. 73 00:13:36,000 --> 00:13:41,000 When's King of the Ring before that? One of the last true King of the Ring pay reviews, I believe it was as well. 74 00:13:41,000 --> 00:13:54,000 And Opus, definitely there, but we've seen this play out before where, you know, somebody may not necessarily get the nod to face Brock Lesnar like a Lars Sullivan, Nathan Jones, Ezekiel Jackson, what have you? 75 00:13:54,000 --> 00:14:05,000 Like the guys that were supposed to be the next big muscle men star monsters, some people did like Braun Strowman and that's what's what's concerning, but I'm with you. 76 00:14:05,000 --> 00:14:22,000 I think Oba is the next big thing in professional wrestling and what's really important to this entire scenario right now, Dr. Trey, is earlier this week Lesnar was on the spit and chicklets podcast of Barstall Hot Cat, Hockey podcast, what, what's that you never heard of it? 77 00:14:22,000 --> 00:14:26,000 I had never heard of it. That's a real podcast. 78 00:14:26,000 --> 00:14:35,000 Yeah, spit and chicklets. Yup, yup, it was a real podcast. And he said he is not for long. He's around for a short time in WWE. 79 00:14:35,000 --> 00:14:49,000 The reports about this late last year that this was going to be the swan song for Lesnar, a lot of rumors and rumblings that he is due to be potentially retired by Gunther at some point this year. 80 00:14:49,000 --> 00:14:58,000 So if they're putting him in this spot, this is a torched passing moment and I really hope Oba takes it by the horns and dominates with it. 81 00:14:58,000 --> 00:15:06,000 I think he does. He's been on our television for almost two full years now. I think he is a superstar. I think he has the most confidence in himself. 82 00:15:06,000 --> 00:15:19,000 And I think he's more the next big thing than he is the next big miss. So very intriguing times, Dr. Trey, because this could be a career moment for Oba Femme. 83 00:15:19,000 --> 00:15:26,000 And I'm enjoying the build. I thought the reaction he got on Monday night coming out to the ring was huge. 84 00:15:26,000 --> 00:15:38,000 I mean that crowd, that's Boston. They want him to come out there and the crowd was doing the dance and that's going to be the new thing that you see now as people doing the dance. And they're going to be filming you and people are going to be going nuts. 85 00:15:38,000 --> 00:15:55,000 And he's on the rise and I just hope everybody takes a moment to kind of take a step back and enjoy this because 15, 20 years from now when he's potentially a huge major star in the company, we can remember this period of time very fondly like I remember the fond times of Lesnar's ascension in 2002. 86 00:15:55,000 --> 00:16:01,000 I mean the one thing when you mentioned all those guys the other way I was there's Mason Ryan because he looked so much like Batista. 87 00:16:01,000 --> 00:16:02,000 Good one. 88 00:16:02,000 --> 00:16:12,000 That's why Vince loved him. And then but none of those guys you mentioned had swagger. None of them had that charisma. None of them have that it factor like we talked about. 89 00:16:12,000 --> 00:16:24,000 I mean we talked about a little bit a year ago with Braun Breaker. Like these two guys are going to be your scene of Batista for the next 15 years as long as they want to be in WWE. 90 00:16:24,000 --> 00:16:36,000 We and we're starting to see it now where like hey some of these guys these big strong muscle bound guys that are really good looking can cross over but I also want people to appreciate the fact that in Boston. 91 00:16:36,000 --> 00:16:53,000 A semi notoriously racist fan base. I mean Robert Parrish for the Celtics. No I mean it is what is David Ortiz is brought it up like there's been a lot of like you know black athletes minority athletes that have brought up how bad Boston can be. 92 00:16:53,000 --> 00:17:06,000 But that crowd was eating Oba family up and I honestly I love what they're doing with them is such a great organic bill but I go back to why I told you a couple weeks ago Jeff. 93 00:17:06,000 --> 00:17:12,000 I still think Paul Heyman turns on Brock Lesnar lines of Oba Femi. I still think that's coming in WrestleMania. 94 00:17:12,000 --> 00:17:17,000 I just don't want I don't want Heyman to become the new big show where he's like turning every WrestleMania now. 95 00:17:17,000 --> 00:17:35,000 No no no I to me it's more about getting Femi in with the vision and basically creating the vision and to be kind of a modern day version of the Nexus in a sense where it's like all these young upstart athletes because that's how you also build rivalries for these young athletes like Oba comes in. 96 00:17:35,000 --> 00:17:43,000 And basically ends up you surfing Bronn Breaker okay now you get brought as a baby face Opus the villain or vice versa I to me. 97 00:17:43,000 --> 00:17:50,000 If you want to keep especially if Brock is leaving and you want to keep Paul Heyman aligned with that next big thing. 98 00:17:50,000 --> 00:17:54,000 I think is a natural fit not to mention and I thought about this the other day. 99 00:17:54,000 --> 00:18:04,000 Like what does Brock Lesnar's daughter do she's a shot putter what was Oba Femi in college a shot putter like you don't do what Brock has done for Oba the last time. 100 00:18:04,000 --> 00:18:14,000 And for Oba the last two weeks unless you buy in to what that guy can be Brock didn't do this for Omas you know there's another one. 101 00:18:14,000 --> 00:18:22,000 Yeah didn't do it for Omas he I mean we saw him like basically just ragged all Braun Strowman in a Royal Rumble when you're in beat his ass. 102 00:18:22,000 --> 00:18:35,000 He didn't do it for you know Dean Ambrose he didn't do like he's done it for Drew and he's done it for Oba now like there's not a lot of guys that Lesnar lets stand over them in a conquering fashion. 103 00:18:35,000 --> 00:18:45,000 I actually forgot that that match was at WrestleMania and that's that's a great comparison because you want memorable matches that are torched passing. 104 00:18:45,000 --> 00:18:53,000 Some people would say especially in the inner circle of WWE that Undertaker losing a Lesnar was torched passing even though Lesnar didn't need it at that point. 105 00:18:53,000 --> 00:19:11,000 There have been plenty of torched passing moments I always go back to WrestleMania 21 when seen a defeated JBL but he's defeated Triple H that was a new chapter and you want memorable torched passing moments like those when it involves someone like Oba. 106 00:19:11,000 --> 00:19:33,000 I think at some point you know when we take a step back at his career you hear some stories I think the Oba Femi Cody Rhodes Saturday Night's main event on the last night of John Cena's career is going to be one of the most important matches if not the most important matches his career because I think that is the match that elevated him even more politically. 107 00:19:33,000 --> 00:20:02,000 And in the eyes of some of the top stars on the main roster in WWE I think Cody did an interview with Kevin Owens and he mentioned like he was in the ring with somebody recently and immediately knew that this person had it and never said who he was talking about but everybody is is figuring that he was mentioning Oba Femi and you know late last year I was saying Oba should return and be like this integral part in the vision and be like almost a secondary background player. 108 00:20:02,000 --> 00:20:31,000 I mean this is someone that needs to be in the face of the company and I would not be surprised following this match at WrestleMania I think Oba at this day on this day March 26th Oba should be defeating Brock Lesnar this is Lesnar's last year at WrestleMania Oba should be going over and then we should be looking at summer slam 2026 Oba being involved in some sort of World Championship match like Oba cannot go the rest of 2026 to that World Championship over his weight over his shoulders so. 109 00:20:31,000 --> 00:20:49,000 Yeah I think he's the next big thing Dr. Trey thinks he's the next big thing tell us what you think exclusively now. 110 00:20:49,000 --> 00:20:58,000 Moving on here Dr. Trey and this will segue very well into the 25 year anniversary of WWE purchasing WCW. 111 00:20:58,000 --> 00:21:07,000 It was reported late last week by Brandon Thurston that Tony Khan bid on WWE in 2023. 112 00:21:07,000 --> 00:21:27,000 There were four bidders for WWE the winner was obviously in Denver which is now known as TKO plus KKR and Liberty Media there were apparently parent for some those were apparent for some time but newly unredacted court record so that the fourth was AW owner Tony Khan's lesser known entity base 10. 113 00:21:27,000 --> 00:21:47,000 So Tony Khan owner of AW put in a bid from WWE he kind of mentioned this thought process in interviews but we never knew if it actually happened could you imagine a world Dr. Trey were Tony Khan bought WWE and WWE and AW were in the same umbrella as one another. 114 00:21:47,000 --> 00:22:16,000 Could I imagine it no just because it's just like man that would have been it would have been so insane to actually have that happen like it's just it your brain can't really process it at times but I saw a great mean the other day and it was the shot of you know Cleveland and Florida with you know events in shame on the split screen and it was Vince and Tony Khan. 115 00:22:16,000 --> 00:22:45,000 Like there's a con on the contract Vince but it's not Nick it's Tony like I could see that would have been great television but it is kind of one of those things where like you forget that the Khan family has more money than the McMahon family like it kind of puts that in perspective that like not only does Tony own AW but is that was the Jaguars and they own one of the big soccer clubs in England is the same. 116 00:22:45,000 --> 00:23:14,000 In England is like no they have more money than the MacMansick is the fact that they could put out a big enough bid to at least be in the in contention before buying this company is just mind blowing in so many ways but it would I mean on paper man like like an AW invasion of WWE I mean like that would have been a lot of fun but you know I think I'm okay I like I like rivalries I like gang he's red socks I like 117 00:23:14,000 --> 00:23:42,000 Cubs Cardinals I like WWE AEW right now. Yeah I don't know if I could deal with the WWE PLE being like four plus hours long every month either so yeah that was wild that that didn't come out until recently thanks to Brandon first and and speaking of invasions doctor try you pointed out to something March 26 2001 from Panama City Florida was Monday night raw and in Cleveland Ohio was airing WWE raw and the day before 118 00:23:42,000 --> 00:24:01,000 it was announced I remember there was an article in USA today and I'm looking at the image on my phone as we speak I remember this vividly going on to WWE dot com going back to again how our memories are shot and seeing this home page of WWE F W 119 00:24:01,000 --> 00:24:27,000 Wow keep calling WWE W W F dot com and was this big image is that W F purchases W C W W W W logo and W F logo on and my mind was absolutely blown and then we went to raw and we had Vince McMahon open Monday Nitro which would be the last Monday Nitro on TV S and then as we all know the rest of history and here we are 25 years later 120 00:24:27,000 --> 00:24:56,000 Dr. Trey and that blew my mind that that was 25 years ago because I remember it so well and that was such a big deal and for those that weren't around then they weren't in a wrestling they weren't born they couldn't remember whatever it would be exactly what we just discussed it would be out of nowhere A W purchasing WWE and Tony Khan open an up raw the next night or two 121 00:24:56,000 --> 00:25:25,000 it was something you never thought you'd see because W C W was such a very prominent player in professional wrestling the period of time they were really taking it WWE for a period of time before falling apart and it was insanely wild time I remember Russell my knee 17 it was theoretically the WWE F owner in Vince McMahon taking on the W C W owner Shane McMahon and then they had the W stars in a box watching and they had the Nitro graphics it was like very very mind blowing 122 00:25:25,000 --> 00:25:54,000 that's one of the reasons why I always think of WrestleMania 17 along with many great matches and moments to be one of if not the most memorable WrestleMania of all time but there was a layer to this Dr. Trey recently that I never knew and there's always been these like weird rumblings about what was supposed to go on there's these weird rumors and stories that a paper view was booked you know what every center was supposed to be sold by Eric Bischoff to Eric Bischoff and company and then we're going to do this big bang paper view 123 00:25:54,000 --> 00:26:11,000 and there's some images out there of what the article was and I remember Bischoff actually spoke the week before and said like you know the W C W that we know it it ends next week like said it in a phone interview and it was not storyline 124 00:26:11,000 --> 00:26:39,000 and then there's always been this thing that W C W were supposed to be brand split which then ultimately happened with Ron Smackdown Nitro was supposed to be back and then I think raw or Smackdown be the WWE show and then we're going to torn all this stuff and we've always heard this but Meltzer tweeted out recently a story I've never heard so he tweeted out I'd love to know if you ever heard this Dr. Trey he said quote the Monday show on spike was planned to be called Nitro 125 00:26:39,000 --> 00:26:58,000 Ed Cohen who worked for WWE had done an entire W C W Torin schedule the angle started with Vince McMahon Kenshin Vince with his pants down with Tori Wilson to lead to an on screen divorce angle where Linda was to get control of raw and give us a W C W owner Shane 126 00:26:58,000 --> 00:27:09,000 if anybody remembers like Tori was trying to seduce Vince they were behind the scenes Linda McMahon popped up and that's how I think they ended an episode of raw 127 00:27:09,000 --> 00:27:22,000 on Monday night after Tacoma which was the buff bag well versus Booker T infamous match I told a W F vice president Vince meaning Meltzer that Vince was going to change his mind 128 00:27:22,000 --> 00:27:40,000 it was told no chance that could happen the next day or Wednesday Ed Cohen told me the W C W project was dead and he has to rebrook 18 months worth of dates other W F exets exets let me know later that day 129 00:27:40,000 --> 00:27:49,000 I've always heard this that that was the plan W C W would be its own brand W F to be its own brand and they were going to go that way and it never came to fruition 130 00:27:49,000 --> 00:28:06,000 this is like one of the biggest what ifs to me doctorate because I don't think and I will always stand by this I don't think that there should be a raw brand I don't think there should be a Smackdown brand and I get it it's been going on since 2002 March 2002 about a year later after they purchased W C W 131 00:28:06,000 --> 00:28:30,000 I think a W C W brand and a W F brand WWE brand would have made a lot more sense and been a lot more fun for wrestling fans and I heard this story and to me this is one of the biggest what ifs of all time I think the invasion angle the purchases W C W is one of the biggest what ifs of all time I mean this was a dream moment that was completely botched by WWE creative 132 00:28:30,000 --> 00:28:42,000 and also who they could acquire from W C W had you ever heard a story like this because this is the very first time I ever heard it I had heard that they had planned on doing their own W C W show 133 00:28:42,000 --> 00:28:56,000 I've heard that from a couple of people Tracy Smothers told me that years ago like that he had been contacted about like especially with like the ECW revival that at one point they had talked about doing basically a W C W show 134 00:28:56,000 --> 00:29:14,000 but it was going to be kind of a combination of W C W EC W talents and stuff like that so I had heard that from him I heard from a couple of people like that was why they did if you remember that the buff bag well book or team match they actually had W C W commentators I think it was a Scott Hudson 135 00:29:14,000 --> 00:29:28,000 Scott Hudson and I actually need to reach out yeah I need to reach out to Scott Hudson because I can probably get more information from that as well but I had heard that they were going to do their own show I did not know how far out they had booked it 136 00:29:28,000 --> 00:29:50,000 but that was the test run was always kind of that last half hour of that Rob is so was kind of see what the feedback was and immediately after the show is when they said yeah we can do this and they've always looked at and I know you for this they've always looked at ever since then they've always looked at W C W as a dead brand 137 00:29:50,000 --> 00:30:02,000 that's why we never got like a W C W one night on you know one night stand we never got anything like that they just viewed it as a completely dead brand that they could not resuscitate 138 00:30:02,000 --> 00:30:14,000 and I disagree with that and I know that's just Vince being having a hard on for W W C W and basically trying to tarnish the legacy I think that's bullshit you know we talked about the video games not too many weeks ago 139 00:30:14,000 --> 00:30:26,000 where I was like I think this could be the video game that gets me back into purchasing wrestling video games and then they dropped it for like 150 bucks and I was like wait what okay hold on here which was the Monday night war thing 140 00:30:26,000 --> 00:30:40,000 but I remember in 2011 one of the W E 2 case maybe it's 2k 12 they did a whole W C W Revival and invasion angle and I loved it I mean I don't know why I mean it's never going to happen now 141 00:30:40,000 --> 00:30:58,000 but I mean they basically just trashed W C W on the way out and I think that's a shame I think it would have really been a lot of fun and it was that night at Tacoma it was Scott Hudson it was Aaron Anderson it was Booker T versus a buff bag wall on a really bad match 142 00:30:58,000 --> 00:31:18,000 I know there was another match and I'm actually taking a look at this right now July 2nd episode of Ross war under the W C W name I could have sworn there was another match that happened I thought they had Jin direct and a hair on that show 143 00:31:18,000 --> 00:31:47,000 I thought that there was one maybe on Smackdown that aired a W C W match and it was like Billy Kidman versus somebody yeah my memory on that one is so because that Booker T buff bag wall match was so bad I think I kind of block and aren't on commentary was not good either like that's that's not his role I've kind of blocked it all out but the fact I mean the fact that they they looked as it as a dead brand and then you know here we are 144 00:31:47,000 --> 00:32:07,000 25 years later still talking about the invasion angle here we are you know 30 years later still talking about the Monday night wars you can always like they could I mean if they relaunched it today and basically made it like there if they somehow bought out TNA and rebranded a W C W people would eat that up 145 00:32:07,000 --> 00:32:24,000 there be a little bit of people pissed off because TNA has a little history now but if they were like a we're starting you know W W all was now going to call W C W and that's we're going to bring all of our young up starts through like there would be an nostalgia grab for it as well so 146 00:32:24,000 --> 00:32:37,000 to me the fact that they looked at as a dead brand for so long and even to this day still a good brand but we you guys like us still talk about it shows it was never really a dead brand it just needed to be used properly 147 00:32:37,000 --> 00:32:50,000 and that invasion it left such a bad taste in a lot of wrestling fans mouths that you know unless it was complete somebody else completely did that wasn't missing man I don't know if anybody else would have bought into it 148 00:32:50,000 --> 00:33:09,000 a less thing here doctor try 25 years later invasion angle one of the biggest what ifs of all time any any thoughts on that W C W logo they created I love that thing that red and black W C W logo I thought that was that the one was that the one that 149 00:33:09,000 --> 00:33:25,000 was off created right at the end of W C W I don't think so they changed it. Oh that was that sure that was that weird like spacey look one right yeah yeah no the one though the one with the red and black just the W C W 150 00:33:25,000 --> 00:33:37,000 yeah that was a really nice look I kept thinking that weird like Christmas ornament looking one that they made like in 2000 for W C W which basically I think Vischach has said like somebody 151 00:33:37,000 --> 00:33:52,000 higher ups told them they needed a new logo that looked much more in line with the future in 2000s and that's what they came up with but yeah that red and black one that that that's the one they still use on a lot of the video games for W W F 152 00:33:52,000 --> 00:34:05,000 or W E is that that red and black one that their team created they so they'll still use the nitro one occasionally you'll see the Christmas ornament one but that red and black one is the one they use the most 153 00:34:05,000 --> 00:34:18,000 yeah that one's a nice one I thought that was good but yeah I'm just trying to look here I could have sworn that there was like this random like commercial that aired promoting W S version W C W 154 00:34:18,000 --> 00:34:23,000 that like was going to air on t and T because I remember reading at the time it was going to be there's going to be even a W C W 155 00:34:23,000 --> 00:34:31,000 shell that would be late on t and T or spike TV whatever it was at the period time but yeah one of the biggest what ifs I never heard that story about the 156 00:34:31,000 --> 00:34:45,000 Tawari Wilson Lindemick man fence angle leading to something but here we are 25 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday so a couple guys that were actually said some big runs in W C W 157 00:34:45,000 --> 00:34:56,000 Dr. Trail will be entering the WWE Hall of Fame so we have the latest inductees announced for the W W Hall of Fame we have Dennis Rodman going in the celebrity wing 158 00:34:56,000 --> 00:35:11,000 and we have Sid Vicious psychosid Sid Justice and bad news brown being inducted in the legacy wing of the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 very happy for Sid Vicious very happy for bad news brown 159 00:35:11,000 --> 00:35:26,000 Dennis Rodman did have an impact in professional wrestling maybe one of the few celebrities that we as wrestling fans have some admiration and good memories over your thoughts on the three new inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 160 00:35:26,000 --> 00:35:40,000 I am obviously you know my history growing up in high school years in Arkansas Sid Vicious you know from West Memphis Arkansas that was a big influence on that area 161 00:35:40,000 --> 00:35:53,000 well again this is one of sometimes like stuff like this you just go man why was he not in years ago just one of the best presences presence how do I not have for that 162 00:35:53,000 --> 00:36:08,000 just had the best presence of a big man in wrestling because you know you go back to the W C W is the skyscrapers the coming to the stuff with Hogan and WrestleMania for with him and Hogan and Flair and macho which for all intensive purposes 163 00:36:08,000 --> 00:36:28,000 the purpose of the show switch switch to round a little bit the work he didn't W C W at the end there the 2000s the match with Ben Wall where he broke his leg like the stuff with Shawn Michaels you know back in the day as well like just a great great presence and it just sucks that it happened it's happening after he passes 164 00:36:28,000 --> 00:36:43,000 same bad news brown I don't know about you like I grew up in bad news kind of came on the scene in WWE didn't know his history didn't know about all his years in Canada just I was legit I was one of those guys that like legitimately scared me as a kid like I was like I don't want to mess with that guy 165 00:36:43,000 --> 00:37:06,000 the ghetto blaster just an in Zaguri the ghetto blaster that was such a crazy move for a big guy in the you know early 90s and I'm super happy for his family I'm actually friends with his daughter on Facebook as well like we've we've talked I actually tell her what it what an influencer dad was as a promo guy for me as well so really happy for them 166 00:37:06,000 --> 00:37:35,000 the rodman thing dude I don't know about you this kind of came out of nowhere like I was kind of surprised when I heard this announcement I was like really is he got a book coming out like why why are we getting in the Dennis rodman business right now but he did have a huge influence at that time because he brought a lot of eyes to W C W I mean hell it's because of him that J Leno got into wrestling is because of him we got Carl Malone into wrestling it's because of him that we had 167 00:37:35,000 --> 00:37:58,000 a carman a lecturer got involved in wrestling for a little bit like it's Robin had a huge influence and kind of opened up the doors for those like you know mid 90s celebrities to kind of get into the world of professional wrestling so it's good for him I'm I just I saw somebody ask this also how we are Jeff I literally saw somebody 168 00:37:58,000 --> 00:38:27,000 heard him as like he was oh yeah he was a basketball player but it was kind of a jerk like that's how he was referred to as for his NBA career and I'm like no the dude was like transcendent in basketball during those 90s years of the Chicago balls and even over the spurs like he was a big time NBA player so I hate how some of this time people kind of dismiss people's past accolades because we focus on the new but Dennis Robman was an incredible athlete and had a huge influence on wrestling in the in the 169 00:38:27,000 --> 00:38:41,000 90s era so a good for him getting into all the fame and can't wait for his speech because Robin on a microphone's always fun to listen to oh yeah that is very very true and it's something gets lost 170 00:38:41,000 --> 00:38:53,000 and the entire thing because I remember it the period of time when I was a kid but he actually like left during the NBA finals to go on Monday Nitro like was MIA so take like one of the biggest athletes in the world 171 00:38:53,000 --> 00:39:14,000 right now and be like let's just say we got baseball starting let's say instead of show Hey O'Tonney the Michael Jordan of the Dodgers let's just say Moody Betts decides he's got a mispractice in the midst of the world series and he's going to go run an angle in WWE today like that's what that was and it was such a big deal and very entertaining 172 00:39:14,000 --> 00:39:29,000 so Rodman Sid Vicious psycho said bad news Brown all going to the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 during wrestle Mania 42 card 42 weekend and speaking of the rest of any 42 show let's go through this 173 00:39:29,000 --> 00:39:47,000 card roundup Dr. Trey kind of like a couple quick hits here so we we have a new match that is now official we have AJ Lee versus Becky Lynch for the WWE Intercontinental Championship no surprise here Dr. Trey that this match is now official for WrestleMania 42 174 00:39:47,000 --> 00:40:12,000 yeah we kind of saw this would coming for a while I am surprised that you know sets back he's a baby face Becky still a heel but then also I still think they're going to put some stipulation on this match at some point also as we get closer to WrestleMania but you know to I I don't know Jeff about you but I think does this match over shadow live in Stephanie on the hierarchy of importance for women's wrestling 175 00:40:12,000 --> 00:40:25,000 I would say it's the best will best built match right now in the rest of any 42 bigger than our core and live bigger than Jade and rear right now for me 176 00:40:25,000 --> 00:40:34,000 I mean if you put if you just put those three matches on paper until the fans like hey which one do you think would be for the biggest title in wrestling I think they're picking AJ and Becky 177 00:40:34,000 --> 00:40:53,000 yeah yeah it just kind of speaks volumes of of how well I mean those two stars are so AJ Lee Becky Lynch it now official for WrestleMania through the other official matches Dr. Trey I will go I'll go through them all together here and then we'll just kind of get your your thoughts for all the official matches 178 00:40:53,000 --> 00:41:04,000 punk and reigns the usos role in this entire build is a very interesting twist I'm not necessarily sure where things are going right now and that I like it 179 00:41:04,000 --> 00:41:11,000 Vaqor and live Morgan what you just talked about they just brawl before the pentadom icy title match on raw this past week 180 00:41:11,000 --> 00:41:17,000 Jade and Rhea beefab and Meechan which I felt like was going to be happy for a long time and then Meechan got hurt 181 00:41:17,000 --> 00:41:28,000 they now have a line with Jade and they'd help her attack Rhea on Smackdown and then the Cody Randy weren't match or explain his action and his focus being on his legacy 182 00:41:28,000 --> 00:41:36,000 he was getting cheered despite beating the hell out of Cody and was getting cheered after laying out Matt Cardona 183 00:41:36,000 --> 00:41:43,000 and of course Brock and Oba official which we talked about at the top of the show but anything you want to add from this past week for the builds of punk 184 00:41:43,000 --> 00:41:54,000 reigns Vaqor live Jade Rhea and Cody Randy or in my friend what did you think of J. Uso ordering Roman reigns around it was it's it's weird right the whole 185 00:41:54,000 --> 00:42:03,000 Uso's dynamic of this entire thing is very strange it would lead me to believe that they dropped the titles on Monday's 186 00:42:03,000 --> 00:42:10,000 Raw to Logan Paul and Austin theory and they go in a separate direction heading in the WrestleMania which is something I wouldn't 187 00:42:10,000 --> 00:42:21,000 think would be happening but this is like this weird little intertwined L. A. Night stuff in there as well so I wonder if L. A. Night is 188 00:42:21,000 --> 00:42:30,000 teaming with somebody to take on both the Uso's or unusso ultimately as well because he needs a match it's the 189 00:42:30,000 --> 00:42:36,000 dynamic is very entertaining and I like that it's unpredictable 190 00:42:36,000 --> 00:42:45,000 and here's the crazy thing and this is something I brought to you a few weeks ago based on storylines you could now easily do Roman in the 191 00:42:45,000 --> 00:42:53,000 Uso's versus CM Punk in the vision because the enemy of my enemy is my friend that would be weird that would be weird but I 192 00:42:53,000 --> 00:42:59,000 hear you but you can mean but there's Paul Heyman he has history of CM Punk and even though he turned on 193 00:42:59,000 --> 00:43:08,000 last year the enemy of my enemy is my friend and you can see Paul Heyman weasel's way into it but I can also see you know Roman losing the 194 00:43:08,000 --> 00:43:15,000 CM Punk at WrestleMania and then Jay telling Roman he let the whole family down he's no longer the travel chief and you 195 00:43:15,000 --> 00:43:19,000 started Jay and Roman storyline coming out of WrestleMania as well. 196 00:43:19,000 --> 00:43:24,000 Well I think that there this whole thing with the the bloodline right now is fair and true and I mentioned last week 197 00:43:24,000 --> 00:43:32,000 that we are getting closer to potentially something big happening and the script being changed completely in WWE like I feel in the 198 00:43:32,000 --> 00:43:39,000 air some change coming and I think a lot of that is surrounding this particular storyline punk and rain so I'm digging it 199 00:43:39,000 --> 00:43:45,000 and we'll get some more clarity after Mondays Raw when the Uso's take on the vision tag team title the line to 200 00:43:45,000 --> 00:43:50,000 Masses were Garden and we obviously get the next layer in the chapter that is punk and rains. 201 00:43:50,000 --> 00:43:59,000 Any other news and notes or feedback thoughts Dr. Trey on the official matches from WrestleMania 42 the bill how many how many weeks are we 202 00:43:59,000 --> 00:44:05,000 away now like three weeks four weeks. Yeah it's something like that let me see real quick how many well while you're 203 00:44:05,000 --> 00:44:11,000 looking at like let's say your four weeks out we still don't have a match for LA night we still have a match for 204 00:44:11,000 --> 00:44:19,000 Gunther we still don't have a match for Seth Rollins you know nothing official for Sami Zane yet trick will you 205 00:44:19,000 --> 00:44:26,000 still a lot of moving parts in here you still don't have an official match for the I see title you still don't have an 206 00:44:26,000 --> 00:44:34,000 official match for the US championship which I assume the US title will be on Smackdown the night before anyway but there's a lot of big 207 00:44:34,000 --> 00:44:41,000 name guys out there who don't have a dance partner and don't have a clear cut storyline maybe maybe we do Sami and 208 00:44:41,000 --> 00:44:51,000 Trick maybe you know Sami Trick and Alistair or something or something like that but to have LA night Gunther Seth Rollins and they're still not a 209 00:44:51,000 --> 00:44:59,000 clear path for those guys yet this close to WrestleMania kind of makes me a little nervous for them it reminds me some of the 210 00:44:59,000 --> 00:45:05,000 WrestleMania in the past where like yeah the top of the car is getting bill great but then the whole middle and bottom is kind of 211 00:45:05,000 --> 00:45:12,000 big so I'm a little nervous being this close to WrestleMania in so many of those top stars not having a dance partner for 212 00:45:12,000 --> 00:45:21,000 Mania we have three RAWs left for Smackdowns as you and I record this on the 26th jumping to the expected and 213 00:45:21,000 --> 00:45:27,000 rumored slash what we are thinking so I expect this to be official by the time you and I record next week's 214 00:45:27,000 --> 00:45:33,000 episode Dr. Trey and that is Drew McIntyre versus Jake Fattu both these guys they brawl throughout the 215 00:45:33,000 --> 00:45:39,000 entire episode of RAW they basically like murder at each other at the end I think that this is going to be official by the 216 00:45:39,000 --> 00:45:45,000 time you and I record for the first episode of April. Yeah and thank God they did do the match because if you remember I was I was 217 00:45:45,000 --> 00:45:52,000 bitching about that I'm like why would you guys have them in an official match if that's also your WrestleMania match what they 218 00:45:52,000 --> 00:45:59,000 did was the right thing keep building the intensity keep building it up you know at one point there is a rumors of a 219 00:45:59,000 --> 00:46:06,000 hell in a sell match of Mania do Jacob and Drew and hell in a sell at Mania and I'm totally on board for that. 220 00:46:06,000 --> 00:46:13,000 Let's get to rumored slash what we are thinking so we'll just go down the list and get some of your thoughts here Dr. 221 00:46:13,000 --> 00:46:19,000 Trey obviously it's going to be a very long list you've got the irresistible forces defending the WWE Women's 222 00:46:19,000 --> 00:46:25,000 Sack Team Championship against Charlotte Flare and Alexa Bliss the Bellatwins and Bailey and Lyre Valqueria 223 00:46:25,000 --> 00:46:32,000 because it now looks like the Kubuki Warriors are out of there we have irresistible forces versus Bella twins on 224 00:46:32,000 --> 00:46:39,000 Smackdown that broke down after Charlotte stops Naya from hitting Bri Bella with the title causing a DQ 225 00:46:39,000 --> 00:46:46,000 Brawl and and Su's post match leaving the irresistible forces standing tall again Flare and Bliss versus the Bellatwins set for next week. 226 00:46:46,000 --> 00:46:54,000 Bailey and Lyre they defeated the Kubuki Warriors on Raw there and it's going to be taken on the irresistible forces this Monday and Raw for the 227 00:46:54,000 --> 00:47:02,000 tag team titles in MSG sources are telling body slam net that the WWE Women's Sack Team Championship or WrestleMania will be this fatal for way. 228 00:47:02,000 --> 00:47:04,000 So that is what they are reporting. 229 00:47:04,000 --> 00:47:15,000 Braun Breaker Seth Rollins there were some rumblings that Braun was down to the PC this past week to get cleared Paul Heyman got Rollins arrested on Raw after putting in a 230 00:47:15,000 --> 00:47:25,000 restrainer order in on Seth Damian Priests and our truth could be to be to be potentially defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against the MFTs in the 231 00:47:25,000 --> 00:47:36,000 Y at 6 after they won the tag team gold on Smackdown this past week could we see an icy title match right now between Penta Domester and Finn Baller Finn distracted Dom during the 232 00:47:36,000 --> 00:47:46,000 icy title match for Penta retain it does feel like it's more Finn versus Domester in the 42 then the icy title match trick Williams versus Sami Zayn which Dr. 233 00:47:46,000 --> 00:47:56,000 Tray brought up also black defeated Sammy on Smackdown after Sammy was distracted by trick Williams at ring side I feel like that is getting into the expected realm as well along with the WWE Women's Tag Team 234 00:47:56,000 --> 00:48:11,000 titles Usos versus the Long Logan Paul and Austin theory for the world tag team championship Usos versus the vision that match on Raw for the tag titles ended in DQ when Jusso use the brass knuckles to take out theory and pole after 235 00:48:11,000 --> 00:48:24,000 L.A. Knight helps them out not necessarily sure what L.A. Knight's role is in this entire scenario we point out Rey Mysterio and Gunther Russell votes is reporting that sources within WWE claim that Gunther is still expected for substantial 236 00:48:24,000 --> 00:48:53,000 role at WrestleMania despite his recent absence there was the rumblings of E.O. Sky versus Asuka at WrestleMania we talked about maybe E.O. Sky versus Raquel well E.O. versus Raquel this Monday on Raw and MSG it is now feeling more like E.O. and Asuka the reported matches now happening based on E.O.'s interactions with Kyrie Julia versus Tiffany strat versus Chelsea Dreen is a possibility for the Women's United States championship as Julia will be taking on Tiffany strat on Smackdown this Friday night for the Women's United States 237 00:48:53,000 --> 00:49:09,000 championship on the line the Miz and Kit Wilson versus Jelly Roll and Dan housing Kit Wilson tax jelly roll after a poetry slam segment on Smackdown which was also very entertaining Kit Wilson versus Jelly Roll said for Smackdown this Friday and then lastly Dr. 238 00:49:09,000 --> 00:49:22,000 Trey I'm going to put up their Carmelo Hayes versus E.O. Dragon off for the WWE United States championship I feel like these two need to get a match on the WrestleMania card after another great match on Smackdown and a very under the radar build and 239 00:49:22,000 --> 00:49:32,000 feud between all of them that is a lot of the rumored expected thoughts take away what stood out to you my friend. 240 00:49:32,000 --> 00:49:42,000 Yeah it's a lot I still like to this day like you brought up last week but the fact that here we are WrestleMania we're getting Miz and Kit Wilson which on paper Miz and Kit 241 00:49:42,000 --> 00:49:54,000 doesn't kill well so seem like a great pairing just you know something but it gets jelly roll in Dan housing like I don't know like I'm here for it maybe the most 242 00:49:54,000 --> 00:50:02,000 entertaining stuff that we have go on between now and WrestleMania because the poetry slam for being a poetry slam was actually pretty 243 00:50:02,000 --> 00:50:13,000 entertaining the kit Wilson stuff fun you throw the Miz into the mix and then Dan housing to run around cursing everybody like that's just fun and we always need that kind of fun silly kind of match your 244 00:50:13,000 --> 00:50:24,000 WrestleMania kind of break up the monotony Tiffany Julia and Chelsea is going to be a damn good match if that's the route they go so I'm excited for that one. 245 00:50:24,000 --> 00:50:39,000 I don't know I know you love Elliott Dragon of just his intensity I've always felt like he would be a really good heal also and then it's just is starting to feel like a loaded car but then once again if 246 00:50:39,000 --> 00:50:46,800 Rey Mysterio can go do you do Gunther LA night at WrestleMania because both those guys don't have a dance partner or do you 247 00:50:46,800 --> 00:50:58,000 Gunther and Seth if wrong breaker can get cleared by WrestleMania and use make LA night the host of WrestleMania this year or something which feels like a huge let down for 248 00:50:58,000 --> 00:51:13,000 LA night if that's the route they go yeah lots of lots of pull apart there I think Ray Mysterio is coming back I think Ray is the direction for Gunther the LA night thing is really cloudy right now I've 249 00:51:13,000 --> 00:51:25,000 always felt like in years past maybe this was more of a Vince thing doctor tray and maybe you and I are two old school but believe it or not I think the way 250 00:51:25,000 --> 00:51:37,000 that Vince booked WrestleMania was very clear cut and dry and very predictable and that is what made the WrestleMania build so easy for us to watch as a viewer the triple H style of 251 00:51:37,000 --> 00:51:51,000 WrestleMania build we saw it with WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia and 41 a little bit definitely this year with the Cody Rhodes Drew McIntyre Jacob a two Randy Orton Sami Zayn WWE 252 00:51:51,000 --> 00:52:05,000 championship style of stuff that we're seeing right now with Gunther LA night what have you is very chaotic and very much all over the place and that could be because they're changing the script a lot or they want 253 00:52:05,000 --> 00:52:18,000 WrestleMania season to be very unpredictable I don't know what it is and I don't know if I presently like what's taking place right now because I 254 00:52:18,000 --> 00:52:32,000 think I kind of like a very clear vision of what it is and what I should be expecting my top stars to see but I mean that's the layers of this the you know I threw out the idea that I think there's a big 255 00:52:32,000 --> 00:52:40,000 possibility that Logan Paul and Austin theory win the titles on Monday they go in a different direction and who so is going a different 256 00:52:40,000 --> 00:52:50,000 direction based on what we've seen and somehow LA nights involved and maybe we get LA night and attack partner versus the usos or LA night versus Jusso like I could see a world where 257 00:52:50,000 --> 00:52:59,000 then Logan Paul and Austin theory you spend those tag team titles off and they're in a match with let's say Javan Evan and Kofi Kingston because Xavier Woods is 258 00:52:59,000 --> 00:53:14,000 out on the shelf and the new day is trying to recruit Javan Evan's and that's been very much another it's just been very short while underrated fun entertaining storyline that I've seen as of late so there's a way the 259 00:53:14,000 --> 00:53:27,000 card looks right now on March 26th 26th it looks it's going to be distinctly different when it becomes was an April 18th Dr. Trey and it's hard to go my finger on I don't know if I like it I I 260 00:53:27,000 --> 00:53:35,000 prefer Gunther not being off television right now I put for Gunther getting back into the swing of the WrestleMania build and I was surprised to the report from 261 00:53:35,000 --> 00:53:47,000 Russell votes that nope he is do for a big role still just stay tuned and I'm sure we're going to see catapult on Monday's raw but everything that we see with Gunther everything that we've seen with LA night to very big prominent 262 00:53:47,000 --> 00:53:58,000 entertaining fun stars top of the card in WWE they've got no clear plan and that makes things confusing for a viewer at home like myself. 263 00:53:58,000 --> 00:54:10,000 Yeah I mean there are elements of attitude air early 2000s booking with this in a sense of they've done a really good job recently of making guys feel like 264 00:54:10,000 --> 00:54:20,000 they've made a bit of stars so they can kind of make them interchangeable on you know there's the knockable hey we got four guys right now in the main event that probably shouldn't you could have been the 265 00:54:20,000 --> 00:54:32,000 main event 15 years ago but when you look at on papers like it kind of reminds you like those days when you had rock triple age Austin Undertaker cane mankind you had like 266 00:54:32,000 --> 00:54:45,000 seven eight guys who'd be the top of the card and then even the early 2000s when you got you know Brock Lesnar Undertaker Kurt Angle edge you know John Cena but he's yet all these guys who could be the top of the card. 267 00:54:45,000 --> 00:54:55,000 But you know there's been times in the last year and a half where we're like man the top of the cards kind of thin the mid card super strong but top of the cards will thin they've done a good job of 268 00:54:55,000 --> 00:55:10,000 innovating that with this chaos but it does I I'm like you though I like a clear path for WrestleMania let chaos rain the other 10 months out of the year but the last two months let's have some clear defined roles heading into 269 00:55:10,000 --> 00:55:22,000 WrestleMania. Yeah it's um I don't know we'll see how it all plays out you know what I don't want to I don't want to go out here right now and say it's bad it's not enjoyable it's on fun it's different and let's just see where 270 00:55:22,000 --> 00:55:32,000 the players out in the couple of weeks but right now at the rumored like what are we thinking is completely all over the place right now even the kit Wilson jelly roll stuff that's like that's just me guessing amazing kit 271 00:55:32,000 --> 00:55:43,000 Wilson versus jelly roll and down housing makes sense right now it could be completely different direction. One area one organization that has had very clear cut and dry good development of 272 00:55:43,000 --> 00:55:52,000 the end of late doctor trade is all lead wrestling and we saw that play out this past Wednesday night last night on dynamite as Kenny Omega defeated Swarth 273 00:55:52,000 --> 00:56:01,000 Strickland to become the new number of contender to the AW world championship is now official for AW dynasty in a couple of weeks it'll be MJF defending the AW world 274 00:56:01,000 --> 00:56:09,000 championship against Kenny Omega being hyped as the devil versus the God in parentheses of professional wrestling won Kenny Omega. 275 00:56:09,000 --> 00:56:24,000 I enjoyed the match love the match with Swerven Kenny I thought it was a slightly down episode of dynamite and that's because it started red hot and then kind of the finish there was all over the place it didn't feel like they had full roster almost 276 00:56:24,000 --> 00:56:33,000 and period of period of time there MJF Omega set for dynasty doctor try your thoughts on this match taking place in a couple of weeks. 277 00:56:33,000 --> 00:56:52,000 I mean it's one of the now I want to say dream matches but this is what your main events of big you pay for you should be like to your top stars going at it for the biggest prize in your company I mean that's something that we've knocked AW in the past four was like there have been times where the world title kind of felt like an afterthought 278 00:56:52,000 --> 00:57:07,000 but right now the front center you got MJF and Kenny Omega for the for the world title dynasty that feels like a big match and then you build the rest of the show around that big match as you arguably your two top guys going at it that's kind of what you want heading into big 279 00:57:07,000 --> 00:57:22,000 neighborhoods. Yeah it's it's fun and MJF Kenny all the they've they've all the right guys that are back right now to carry that that brand and organization and it's been fun watching AW but I overall I don't know if you had a chance to watch the full 280 00:57:22,000 --> 00:57:33,000 episode yet doctor I just thought it was a little bit of a down episode I did like the finished that the the Don Cales family laying out Darby Allen and on dry to being like what are you doing why are we doing MJF 281 00:57:33,000 --> 00:57:43,000 getting all that stuff but I felt like overall it was just kind of a an okay episode of Don Am I wasn't terrible episode at all just thought they've been you know 282 00:57:43,000 --> 00:57:51,000 hit homers as of late and I would like to see that trend continue I think they just had a double on Wednesday night. Yeah I would say a double or like that we're 283 00:57:51,000 --> 00:57:59,000 thinking based on actually the guys on second base already starting off the man for the rules yeah the ghost runner like that's kind of how I felt about 284 00:57:59,000 --> 00:58:11,000 yeah it was an okay episode and I think you know you're kind of coming out of a couple of big pay per views you're adjusting story line so you have a little bit of time where hey let's play this out let's play this out 285 00:58:11,000 --> 00:58:24,000 but like I said earlier like as long as you have a big fight on your pay per view like omega and MJF it buys you a little time to kind of flesh out some other story lines to fill out that card 286 00:58:24,000 --> 00:58:34,000 so some of the other things were kind of scratching your heads I'm kind of counting on them to kind of build that out next week in the week after to kind of give it a little more clear direction 287 00:58:34,000 --> 00:58:44,000 AW has been so solid lately right now like they're on a hoshery I don't I don't bet against them right now making this make sense here the next week or so. 288 00:58:44,000 --> 00:59:01,000 Yeah so there you go we've got omega and MJF set for AW Dynasty right now it's like really good times with whatever things going on in the right now they've like all the right guys like I mentioned before back kind of really caring really carrying the brand and I think it's 289 00:59:01,000 --> 00:59:10,000 setting up for something very special for double and nothing in New York City in late May with that said let's close up shop on this week's edition of SRT we've got a couple plugs and 290 00:59:10,000 --> 00:59:19,000 spots is out of the way you can download show it at patreon dot com slash SRT you podcast and a store will show feed on Apple Spotify or every download this podcast don't forget to rate 291 00:59:19,000 --> 00:59:29,000 review and subscribe you can follow us individually on extra myself at SRT you Jeff and for Dr. Tray Franklin at the Dr. Tray and of course don't forget the fall show on X at SRT you 292 00:59:29,000 --> 00:59:34,000 podcast with that being said what is going on the wonderful world of Dr. Franklin this week. 293 00:59:34,000 --> 00:59:43,000 Well like Jeff said you can follow me on X at the Dr. Tray you can find me on Instagram and Facebook Dr. Tray Franklin when you're on Facebook check out Rockets 294 00:59:43,000 --> 00:59:51,000 H.
